Well i mean you could also say that you have you have some really great set designers who are concerned about accuracy and they knew store set is going to be out of toilet paper. So let's take that is that is the one great thing about working on a show set in superstore. Is that anything i wanted. I could just ask for when i moved into our apartment. "And as roma's joining us right. Now we have jordan. Clever and jedi hegel o. How are you guys doing doing. Great as well as you can be right now. Who are who. Who are you quarantining with jenny. I'm quarantining with my partner. Liz and my son who is six. My list has a very grown up lady job so she goes into one room all day and does zoom calls where she says things like she says. Business phrases like Well we'll have to see if the juice is worth the squeeze. And that's not what i'm solving for. And wow what was happening. She i mean she says things that i've just never a side of her. I've never seen before having that thing. We were like who. Who are you is that. It's like really impressive though. Because it's like very like she's a very confident and she uses business lady terms and she uses them so like casually. Yes so it's kind of neat to see your partner do what they do because you hear about it. But it's kind of neat to watch your partner. Excel at what they do. Yeah jordan who are you. Who are you living with right now. I am with my wife right now. I like the journey is like it's nice to see your partner. Dana day out and see what they excel at and that is not the experience. My wife and i are having we are. We are watching each other disintegrated happening. It feels like talked to friends of mine. Who have been married like last week was the week like a lot of initial explosions. Took place of like yelling at people for like. You're closing the door too loudly. My wife thinks my voice is just too loud and not like an incident of being loud once but just generally j just too loud and we had. I don't think you fully mean that. But i think you also do because you've been in a room with me for the last month and a half but we're better cooking. I think that's the one thing we now know how to cook. You guys want to play a game. Yes i'm very excited about this game. Okay so first of all you are going to be competing in this game. So we're gonna go back and forth This is audio quiz. About famous movie quotes. We're gonna play the dialogue. That comes right before a very famous movie quote and you just have to jump in With the quote okay right okay. And if you don't know it just makes something up and it's possible you will still get credit all right jenny. This one's for you okay. I don't know if that's fair. I don't know is fair. I feel before we started this game. I felt like. I'd seen some movies but maybe ever seen one. No you've definitely seen this but maybe it was a long time ago. That's a classic chicago blues lick like they really laid out. I'm walking to walk you down a path here a little bit. Danny glover okay. Is this a lethal weapon situation. "But it it it makes a less politically advantageous or politically clear issue for a lot of people until it kind of just get swept under the rug. So which we tried to talk to some of those vets and bring some some light to it. Let me ask you this Jordan ah having embedded with people who have actual skin in the game who are true activists protesting, and in some cases risking their freedom for what they believe in. The you think there's a lesson here for society that's full of righteous indignation on Twitter and eager virtue signal on their Facebook. But maybe a little more reticent when it comes to actually getting off the couch and showing up when it matters yet. We talked a lot about that with making the show and I'm right along with them. I think I I think at the time the time to stand up and make your voice heard is now on on all sides that you see a country people who are frustrated with the way America's going. On the left and the right. You see a lot of people taking action through their phone, and sometimes it can be a positive thing. Sometimes you can gather positive support you can raise money for just issues. What was really inspiring about? This was seen people who actually get up off their ass and do something about it. And it's hard change is really hard. And it's uncomfortable. And it doesn't always go as you wanted to go. There is no such thing as perfect protests and some protests you which was more effective than others. And I think a real theme of this entire series as you kind of watch me up close with some of these things. Some of these are situations that I'm a part of some just as close as I can get and you can you get a a little glimpses to what people are actually doing day to day with the movements that they they're a part of. I think there's hope to be found in that we are a country full of fighters or a country full of resistors people who wanna push back who want to remake the country into a better image the way in which they see it. And I think like that's not an easy thing to do. And you can't necessarily do it on your couch. And so I was moved by people on both sides of the aisle making this this series because there people out there who are fighting, and they're not just talking the not just bitchy, and they're not just retweeting they're fighting, and I think that spirit hopefully that comes through. Well, I really enjoyed what I've seen of the show. And I think folks are going to really like it it makes you think it makes you laugh four we go. I also wanna point out that each episode is accompanied by filmed podcast to do you wanna plug that as well? I do I mean, we've gone that extra step into a podcast where we're now filming it and putting it out recessionary making television out of a podcast take that America. Actually, we're we're really excited about it. If people are if they enjoy the series and compelled by these stories, like each podcast is sort of a chance for us to talk about some things that happened off camera. And also how some of these stories came together the things that we couldn't include in the episodes. Also, the episodes that we like the things that we think worth things. That we think could've worked better. I think like it's there's a lot of media topics, and there's a lot to unpack. And we only have twenty two minutes to do it. And so we try to have a pretty Frank conversation. After each episode about like the process of trying to tell these stories in that small amount of time. So if you're if you're curious about like, how the sausage is made and also about how whether they're this OSH is being made correctly. We kind of dive into that. And those those pop up right after every episode airs on Thursdays. Good stuff will Jordan clever is new series clever airs Thursdays on comedy central at ten thirty eastern, Jordan. It's always fun to have yawn. Thanks for coming back. Thanks for having me. Thanks.

"Never gonna share a conversation that our colleague laura bradley had with jordan clever the host of the opposition with jordan clever laura writes a lot about late night until vision for us and she had a really wide ranging conversation with jordan who is yet another daily show alum who has created having his own show and his take it on this character of conspiracy theorists is kind of perfect for the trump era they had their conversation on may eleventh which really wasn't that long ago but as you'll be able to hear kind of feels like it they talk about roseanne which obviously that show has gone through a lot this week and they talk about in north korea summit that is no longer happening but i think as jordan talks about you have to move fast to keep up with the news these days and a lot of comedy he does stays completely relevant so i think it is a very worthwhile conversation take a listen thanks for being here jordan so i'd like to start with talking a little bit about what it's been like to inhabit this character you've been doing on the opposition for seven months and change has your understanding of jordan the character evolved or has the show of in any significant ways you started i think the show has evolved as has america over the last seven months maybe evolved is the wrong word that tends to say that we're headed in the right direction i don't know if i will weigh in on that yet as we started this show we were using sources like info wars and breitbart as the the the focus of this this ult perspective in and what the fringe was at the time and i think there's been an evolution as to what has happened with those sites that you see steve bannon somebody who was a focal point of the trump administration and is now gone you also see fox news.

"Live from npr news in washington i'm luiz schiavone military hardware could go on display in the nation's capital this year and pierre's giles snyder reports the white house has confirmed that planning has begun for a military parade white house confirmation of the military parade being in the early planning stages follow the washington post reported on the idea advanced by president trump spokeswoman sarah sanders says trump wants to pentagon to explore celebration allowing america's to show appreciation for the military the pentagon also confirmed the plan search us getting off the ground saying officials were looking at options but that no date has been set and pierre's jal snyder ahead of the friday opening of the winter olympics members of the south korean military have been deployed to relieve private security workers hit by the norovirus more than a thousand workers exposed to the virus have been sequestered a north korean cheering squad is rive in south korea for the pyongyang chung olympics jason struther in seoul says the team as part of north korea's charm offensive south korean television has shown images of the two hundred or so north korean women all in red coat and for hats crossing the border it's believe these women are picked by the regime based on their loyalty as well as their looks ruler kim jong moons wife is believed to have once been a member of one of these squads japan's nikkei closed up fractionally dow futures off by more than two hundred i'm luiz schiavone npr news on the next fresh air jordan clever host of comedy central the opposition a satirical political show in which he delivers commentary in his persona as a farright conspiracy theorist whose views are in sync with alex jones and breitbart news it's all about creator enemies streudel alive it's them versus us they 'have me and i am under attack join us jerry gross and fresh air of this afternoon at one o'clock preceded at noon by the take away israel prepares to deport tens of thousands of african refugees some say that's the pocketing visceral is a country that was founded by refugees people that fled your of after got a government plan that could expel forty thousand people from israel anti a backlash his next time on the take away from wnyc and pri public radio international.

"The next fresh air jordan clever host of comedy central the opposition esoterica political show in which he delivers commentary in his persona as a farright conspiracy theorist whose views are in sync with alex jones and breitbart news it's all about created enemies as droid allied it's them versus us they 'have me and i am under attack join us today at two on 939 fm w n y c this is morning edition from npr news i'm david greene in culver city california and i am rachel martin in washington dc good morning we have been here before heavenly congress has to pass a spending bill to keep the governmentfunded and the deadline is midnight tomorrow yes and president trump seem to have a few thoughts about this he says any bill has to include changes to immigration law if we don't change it let's have a shutdown will do is shut down and it's worth it for our country i'd love to see a shut down if we don't get this stuff taking care all right so this would be the second government shutdown in less than a month and it's worth asking how realistic is a deal on immigration with such little time here all right npr congressional correspondent celtic's now as in the studio with us this morning hate kelsea hi there like we've had this conversation he said all right so let's let's take a close look at this because on the one hand we've got the president saying that unless democrats compromise on immigration there's going to be a shutdown but didn't immigration gets separated from the budget debate at some point right so this this comment from the president seems to be completely at odds with what's happening on capitol hill right now because way on the budget side of things the spending side of things the senate seems very close to reaching a twoyear budget agreement it would allow them to set the spending levels for two years that's a very long time in terms of the length of time we've been going between spending bills lately they as of yesterday they were inches fractions of an inch apart and that could be coming as early as today so what does it mean then that the president's chief of staff john kelly was on capitol hill talking about immigration and let's listen to this.

"Lazy boy admirals cool i'd workshop that to note the mainstream establishment fake news and tune into the opposition's alternative media landscape although landscape is just an expression is on an actual landscape at the tv show the elite overlords who claim dominion over the at realm do not want you to know to us it rough joined the opposition with jordan clever weeknights at eleven thirty 1030 central you know who's out of the daily show who's not are tomba sent you news in charge of the public from sean spicer because he was up on the pods a day we have the democratic senate candidate for these special election in alabama doug jones doug thanks for joining us hey guys thanks for having me i really appreciate it awesome well so alabama has not elected a democrat to the senate since 1992 trumpy clinton by almost thirty points in 2016 what made you say this is the year all right well couple things first of all you know it is before 1992 is one hundred years before republicans in ever elected a united states senator so there's a time and a season for everything and it seem like netanyau people or hitting political reset buttons and think the health care debate obviously help that were people are looking at a lot of issues and when you focus on issues i think the time has now to have people have a rule voice now they're tired of the chaos in washington they're tired of the a dysfunction that front quite frankly can come from both parties and they will somebody you can reach across the aisle somebody that will have.
