Brunson scores 38 as Knicks outlast Jazz in Hart's NY debut
"Jalen Brunson hit for 38 points, 22 in the first half of the Knicks win over the jazz, one 26 one 20, Julius Randle had 31 points for New York, which is 31 and 27 after winning for the third time in four games. RJ Barrett finished with 20 points before fouling out and Josh Hart added 11 off the bench in his next debut. Felt ready to get out there if I'm good to get our get that win. Hard also had 7 rebounds of four assists. He hit a corner three that broke a tie with 6 44 remaining. Laurie marketing scored 29 points in Utah's fourth loss in 5 games. Jordan Clarkson finished with 24 points. I'm Dave ferry.

"For Jordan Clarkson or Mike Conley if you want to take a run at Conley with that contract. Look, I was having this discussion with somebody about the number of first round picks that the jazz come away with after the deadline. I'm gonna put the odds of two and a half right now. Two and a half first round picks. I think it's possible to get to three if they get enough people interested. Because those pieces that the jazz have, the old Linux, the Beasley's, the clarksons. These are valuable guys. These are guys that 'cause they can shoot. They can play roles. I think these are players that contending teams are going to be willing to surrender real draft capital capital four. And I think Dave is going to wind up with more first round picks as a result of this. And I think because of that, because you're moving talent, they'll sink further in the standings and give themselves a shot at getting Victor when by Yama, which is all Danny wanted to begin with. All right, that's what he wanted from the start. He built this team like it was a nice story at the beginning of the season, but when you trade Rudy Gobert and you trade Donovan Mitchell, you are not building a winning team. You are not building a team to compete. They've got a good coach.
Beasley, Clarkson lead Jazz to 120-112 victory over Wizards
"In double figures with 25 points as the jazz beat the wizards one 20 to one 12. Jordan Clarkson chipped in with 23 while Lori Morgan and had 21. The jazz shot 49% from the floor and they had 16 three pointers on the night. Bradley Beal led the wizards with 30 points they shot 56% for the game, but were just 7 for 21 from three point range. I'm Craig heist.

"Signed having Fox and so bonus. And us to space on the forefront. So yeah, I knew early. Okay, good. Because we the over under in Vegas for you guys was like 35 wins. And we were saying when we were doing our preseason podcast, we were like, the kings are going to be good. That seems like they're going to be at least 500, but I think you've been better than that. You personally, so in high school, you're like a top ten recruit in the country, right? You go to Kentucky, that's like the school to go to. Good year. Going through the league, Charlotte, that's a weird team. There's a lot of redundancy in the positions and never quite happens there. You end up on the Lakers. Also a pretty weird situation. And it feels like this is the first year you've been on the right team that kind of gets who you are and what you do. Is that fair? Condo a little bit. The Lakers, the Lakers let me be me as much as they can while we had Russ. And of course, but yeah, man, Mike just told me to go out there and be myself and he never tried to take anything away from him. So is it situation with guys like you? Because you're such a good score. And you have the ability to just heat up at any time and you have these moments where it's like yesterday in Toronto, where it's like, all right, oh, here we go. He's feeling it. This is going to be like a little three minute stretch. Why is it so hard to for guys like that to find the right teams? 'cause I would just think that would translate to any team. Yeah, you go, you go into a team where it's already orchestrated on where the team is, they got their first 5 and they got two or three bench guys that's coming off and you're not involved in it. Right. Then some other instances, you get hurt, somebody else playing better than you. Then you got to work your way back. But yeah, man, it's just situations, man, and being out there on the court. And actually just getting reps will make everybody, it will just me, it made me more comfortable and it made me the player I am actually. I've been like this, but like you said, I needed the situation and I needed a chance to just go out there and prove what I could do. Well, one of the things with you is I like when you have the ball, but you're not a point guard, but you're one of those guys that, you know, Jordan Clarkson's like this, there's some dudes that they're shooters, but it's actually you can kind of create and run offense to them. And on the Lakers last year, even though you're putting up stats, but there was a lot of times where it was like, hey, go stand over there. And these guys are going to just happen. I don't feel like you're a stand over there guy. It seems like the key to you to succeed. And this is what I think the kings have done so well. The

"That's no guarantee either and still you do not want to eliminate yourself from the possibility of a generational type talent like Victor wembanyama and there's no guarantee you get them with a 14% chance with a top three bottom three record blah blah blah. I get all that. You have to put yourself in the running when you're in this position. I mostly agree with that. Look, I don't think that the front office's position on trading its vets have changed. I think Mike Connolly is still very much available. I think Jordan Clarkson, who has been fantastic, is very much available. Lowry marketing, I don't know. I mean, you're right. His value probably has never been higher, but he is 25 years old and at some point you're going to want guys to play around Victor Webb, but Yama, if you do get him, or scoot Henderson or whatever. So I'm not sure Lowry marketing that they'd be so quick to trade him at the moment. But I think all the guys that you thought were available before the season are still currently available. I just want to just dive into for a minute why the jazz are playing so well. You mentioned marketing. He's been absolutely outstanding. Averaging 22 points per game on just about 16 shots per game he's shooting 51% from the floor. That includes 7 of his attempts coming from three where he still isn't very good. He's creating mismatches offensively. He's been a solid rim protector, defensively. And he can get even better. I mentioned three point shooting. He's shooting below 30% from three, which is well below. Which is wild. Yeah, which is wild. Because he's a good three. He's a good three point shooter. Exactly. Last two seat and think he was 35% last year, 36%, 40% the year before when that number goes up, Lowry market is going to be even better score for this team. I mentioned the depth. One of the benefits of not having a star heavy roster is that there's not a lot of drop off when you go to the bench. They have, they have 6 guys right now averaging a double figures. Jared Vanderbilt is about a point away from double figures. You go from Jordan Clarkson and Mike Conley to Colin Sexton and Taylor Horton Tucker and there really isn't a massive drop off.

"And either reddish or quickly and then you've got whatever Derrick Rose, maybe you consider it there. If you can get the added benefit of freeing up another draft, it's a more draft capital for trade. Makes sense? But again, you got to get that first and it's got to be, again, I need to sit down and really think about it. But it would have to be a strategically placed first round pick in order to undo some of the damage that the pelicans did. And then we're on polynomial accepted in terms of making sure that the Lakers couldn't move future first on pics. You would want to unwind some of that with the move. Long story short, we need both New York teams to figure out their lives. Figure out life, Nixon nets, come on in jazz, but yeah. Well, let's continue to talk about trades. Let's get into the bail back here. Because our first question has to do with this. And again, I just said, I'm assuming you agree. The Knicks trade is the dead last for me in terms of trade options. Are you with me on that? Absolutely. I mean, the Indiana deal, no brainer. Utah's got a bunch of pieces I like if that deal falls through. I had to explore stuff with San Antonio at that point. If those two don't work out and then yeah, that's definitely New York at the bottom there. Okay, and now I again, baby, the benefit is you don't have to give up draft capital, but what we'd have to see. But iron duds in our mailbag was sent down to my Instagram account, not Trevor lane NBA, said the jazz trade makes more sense than any other besides Kyrie. Love the show. Do you agree with that? I mean, we've been talking a ton about buddy hill and miles Turner and how they would fit. Yep. I think I might agree. If you can get Utah has so many different guys that you can fit into a deal, it just makes a lot of sense to do something with the jazz, if a Cairo trade is not is not available. I mean, my column, the Patrick Beverly, Jordan Clarkson, by ambar danovich, Malik Beasley, there's somebody I'm leaving out there. Rudy gay, it could be in the mix. Jared Vanderbilt, sure. I think Utah will be. They'll probably want to keep. But that's a name. That's in there too.

"So I think the rumor I've been hearing is that the pacers have cap space and they want to actually use that on like functional players. Right. And they're not about just like such a shot at Russ. No, no, not a shot at rose. If Russ got traded to the pacers, I don't think he'd ever play a game for the producers. I think he'd get cut instantly. So they want to use that on players that will play for them this year. Is what I will say instead of functional that word has some negative connotations. Fair enough, fair enough. But yeah, so I think, look, if the pacers deals on the table, you would absolutely have to give it strong consideration. I just don't think it is. Now, could a deal for buddy heald beyond the table? Maybe. I just think getting healed and Turner, that's probably not going to happen. Yeah. Say it said, would you all be willing to give up THT and Gabriel and a first for Jordan Clarkson? No. Nope. What if it was just THT and William Gabriel, would you do it then? Nope. Yeah, I probably wouldn't either. Not giving up that potential for THC. And we know what Jordan during Clarkson's Jordan Clarkson like, it was the 6th man of the year. He's good. He's not a bad NBA player or anything like you've learned what that means though. 6 men of the year, no disrespect to anyone who's won 6 man of the year in the last 5 to ten years. But that award has strictly become who scores the most points off the bench every year. That award no longer means most impactful bench player. It's just who averages the most points per game off the bench. Correct. Pretty much who's been winning that award every year. That's what we've been seeing. Ken and hall with the super chat. Thank you. Appreciate that. We'll get through a few more here before we head off to our weekend. Here's a good one. David spader says the nuggets can have KCP we get Ron back. That's a good trade. Ron did the nuggets trade you for KCP. I really think you guys would rather have kentavious Caldwell Pope. Right now I really somehow, I think that would be the right move.

"I think this season is going to determine how the Lakers see Anthony Davis and I think it's big for him for his career because we've had now two seasons of his where he's been underwhelming. So it's an important one for AD an important one for the Lakers as well. Yeah, I think Anthony Davis, if he's back to himself, the Lakers will be a better team. I still don't know if they're championship contenders, but they'll be much better. Yeah, there'll be a far better team. And it kind of gives the Lakers some sense of direction of where they want to go this off season. Next off season, if LeBron not want to re up or if he does, but on a discount, is there a world where if AD is really like that guy this year, LeBron takes a discount, so the Lakers can go get a third star or a couple of really good role players. Like, is that a thing he's willing to do? Maybe, but if Anthony Davis is that guy, I feel like it makes it more likely because he's saying, okay, I can take less because I'm putting my faith in Anthony Davis and the type of roster we can build now around him, not around me. Right. It's reasonable. Oh, yeah. Jade nar says without the Kyrie trade, we have no scoring depth. I mean, in terms of how many guys you can have that you can just say, this play broke down, here's the ball, you've got four seconds on the clock, go get something. Yeah, Kyrie gives you one more guy that can do that. Kendrick nunn in theory can maybe do that a little bit. If he's healthy. Remember, Kendrick nunn coming in. If Kendrick done his healthy, it's almost like you add another free agent. That's kind of the way you have to look at that because they didn't get them at all last year. A very good one. Right. And he's good. People were shocked when the Lakers got him at that price tag at $5 million. People went, what? How did that happen? But in general, yeah, there isn't a lot of scoring depth. There's not a lot of pure scores. But the Lakers made the decision, we're going to look for youth athleticism, defense. We're going to find those three things. And we're going to bet that those things in lieu of finding guys who can both defend and shoot threes because those are way more expensive. We're going to at least get guys who are young and can defend and give us that athletic lettuce is going to put that stuff around LeBron and then let LeBron do the stuff he does. Realistically, does that does not having another scoring option change that much? I mean, the bottom line is this team probably goes as far as LeBron and AD takes them. Whether or not you have like a Malik monk or Jordan Clarkson or someone else, even if it's a Kyrie Irving that you can just hand the ball to and say, go get a bucket. I mean, the Lakers were priced out of the market on guys who can get their own shot. Put plainly. The Lakers were priced out on those guys and they were priced out on guys that can play both offense and defense good.

"That we're winding things down, it's anybody's guess in terms of when this will actually happen. I'm actually at a point where I think a Donovan Mitchell trade is going to happen first, which is crazy because we just started hearing about this a few days ago. I really like in my personal belief, and obviously this isn't based on anything, any sourcing or anything, but I don't really see these trades happening for another couple of weeks, like take it into August. Outside of last year's rust deal, Russell Westbrook got traded in mid August every time. I don't know, were we just way more patient as a society three years ago than we are now? I guess the Lakers being bad kind of took away our patients. And that's part of it. That's definitely good. We were patient. And there wasn't as much like, oh my gosh, they have to do something to fix this because when the team was good, it was like, okay, cool, they're good. Oh, wait, they just got the 6 man of the year cool. They got better. There wasn't this sense of, oh my gosh. The Lakers are bad, and they have to fix this right now. That urgency wasn't there. But honestly, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if a trade happens now, or if it happens on August 24th, like it doesn't, it doesn't really matter. It just a matter of something will happen. I imagine, because again, I look at this roster and it's just not complete. It's an incomplete basketball roster. Correct. So something's going to happen. Mom and mentality says, welcome back, Ron, and favorite favorite Trevor and rod mullet when we got Russ, Trevor cuss and Ron, did we get buddy? We get Russ and buddy, LOL. That was that clip from when we were, we were recording buddy to the Lakers when the Russell Westbrook news broke. Fire sale in Utah go get Jordan Clarkson. Yeah, I think Utah, if they moved on to Mitchell, they're going to start moving Beverly Clarkson, all their older guys are going to be moved. Is Jordan Clarkson the guy you would target if you get any of those veteran guys? He's not for me. No, I think boy I'm Bogdanovich is probably the top jazz target if they're going fire sale. I think he fits the most, he checks the most boxes on what's wrong with this team right now. Jordan Clarkson checks

"What's going to happen. And I would know three and a half weeks out where it's feeling like it's going to go. And I would have friends go, oh, that thing's going to be huge, man. And in my head, I'd be like, oh, boy. I'm about to disappoint a lot of people. But then the ones that attracted good, you're like, yeah, baby, you got some confidence. What was the one out of all of them that you were just like, I know this is going to be a huge hit. People are going to love this. Well, I literally thought Billy Madison, when we first did it and wrote it. And I was like, well, this is going to be the greatest thing of all time because I was a kid. It's my first one. I knew I'd want to see it. I was like, how did someone not do an elementary school boy? How did this not happen? A grown man in elementary. We were sold just like excited. And then it did fine. It didn't do. It wasn't huge. But it lived on. Lived on. Right. And so that's kind of great. But I think at that time I was always just like, oh, wait till the water boy comes out. They're going to like that. I was very psyched about each one. We put up. Now I'm just like, I think this is good. I like it. I'm going to work hard to make it as good as I can. I have no idea where it's going to land. But also, I feel real good about hustles, hustle will do very well. It has something for everybody. I thought I was interesting in my, in my house, what plays? Yeah. That sound like this is an advertisement for the movie, but you know, we have different people masks, right? My wife, like different things. Right. My daughter, pretty much likes everything as long as it has a heart. And then my son is the toughest audience of all. All right, right. He's looking for an excuse to be out. He's 14 years old. And to be like, ah, that sucks or whatever. So the fact that everybody was kind of into it, I was like, this is a good sign. That's good. You're hitting four different demos. That's big. Especially me, because I'm always prone to be defensive with sports movies and sure, or also we watch sports movies and go that guy can't play and blah blah blah. And this movie is just like, wow, everybody's pretty damn good. It's actually watch I was so good in the movie that it made me kind of, I was like, why is this guy a better player? How is he not? You don't order. When they screwed around when the guys were just playing ball and loose, he's incredible. He hit shots, I think he's just like, he's got possibilities to be awesome. He should be an absolute stretch for asset for somebody. But this is the problem with the NBA. You can, you know, he bounced around, right? He's in Denver. He came to the southeast and he gets traded twice this year. You were all over. You knew what he was doing the whole time and we would text about that, but every time he came in, like, watch out. But why don't you what he was in had some nice moments with Utah. He felt good, he was friends and Jordan Clarkson's in the movie and Dell demps, who was assistant coach on the jazz, I think that made.

"Because and I like Kyle korver. It was not as bad as some guys have been, but how corporate was a guy who was the most dangerous shooter in the world until the game's got the biggest and then there were some tough spots. Not that he never had good moments, but and there's other guys like that. He had who was it? He dealt with this with Jordan Clarkson, wasn't a knock down shooter. Jordan's now turned himself into a player, but Jordan Clarkson got traded for it by the Cavs. You remember this. It was like, oh, it was energy points, all this stuff, and then apply it was just like, you got to be kidding me. Rodney hood. I saw this happen. So I think that just my speculation and mannix, I know people think of me as this is one of the reasons I like talking with you is we give each other crap. I don't know if I'm allowed to curse. I already did one. I apologize. Okay. Okay, no problem. But we give each other a hard time, but we both, I believe, on the vast majority of things, respect each other's opinion on this. And I think that what I'm laying out on the buddy healed thing resonates with you, like, okay, that like that, if a guy who's played in Sacramento, you are worried is the Western Conference Finals moment gonna be too big. I don't think that's an unfair worry. And I don't think it's ridiculous to say, well, Russ ain't gonna be scared. At the aliens, we know Russ isn't gonna be scared. What we didn't know was that Russell was gonna lose all his confidence. And become the worst version of himself. So yes, it didn't work out. And yes, a lot of smart people said it wasn't gonna work out. But nobody saw.

"To say exactly how much each coach brings like Vogel is always he's even reluctant to say exactly who has what responsibilities. So a lot of it is behind closed doors, and it's hard for me to say, oh yeah, well, Vogel was responsible for this. Kid was responsible for this. Lionel Holland today is now fizdale's doing this. It's hard to say exactly how big of a deal that is. I do like Jason Kidd and Lionel hollins on the bench. I thought that they were, they were solid for the Lakers. How big of an impact? It's hard to say. Mom and mentality, can we open another spot by moving Reeves onto a two way? Well, you'd have to cut them to do that. He's on a full guaranteed contract, and the way Reeves has been playing, do you really want to demote him right now to a two way contract? Probably not. And he's on a guaranteed deal, so you'd have to pay him the remainder of the season anyway. So you're not going to do that. You're not going to open up a roster spot that way. And again, Reeves has been fantastic. So there's no way that you would do that. All right, let's do the next man up. Like there's any doubt. Like there's any doubt who's getting this one. The next man up award and I'm getting into it, get into it a little bit late in the show here. But the next man up award Stanley Johnson Stanley Johnson and Austin Reeves made some great plays, don't get me wrong, made some fantastic plays out there, but Stanley Johnson again, 7 for 9, one of two from three 5 boards three assists one steal two blocks, 5 fouls in 25 minutes, but plus 18 on the night 15 points, he sparked the Lakers come back. On the drive Jordan Clarkson couldn't handle it. And Jordan Clarkson's pretty quick. Pretty quick we saw him with the Lakers. He's not slow, but Stanley Johnson, once he gets his shoulders past you, good luck. He's strong. That guy is strong and it's hard to deal with him when he's driving to the basket and he gets those shoulders by you. Now, he doesn't have the best handle, so he's not always going to do that, but tonight, man, he punished any of the smaller guys that were trying to defend him..

"Simple. I don't like seeing the Lakers in gold playing the Golden State Warriors up in San Francisco. I don't want to see that. It just looks weird. It doesn't look right. It doesn't look right. Let's just go back to a simpler time and just make it known. You wear one Jersey at home, one Jersey on the road, sprinkle in a few alternates. I like the alternate jerseys. They're fun. That's fine. But let's go back to home and away, churches, please. Somebody said the black jerseys, the best ever. Again, the Kobe Jersey that we got back here, the black MoMA Jersey. That is my favorite. That's my favorite of the Lakers. I think it's the best alternate Jersey, not just for the Lakers for the league. I think that is the best alternate Jersey period. Whether you want to call it the lore edition or whatever it is, the city edition, that's the best one. That's the best one by far. That one is fantastic. I would love to see that one brought back. Oh, here's an interesting one. Somebody did a old man quote for me. Back in my day, Shannon, they're adding that a hero on YouTube. Sunday whites my favorite somebody said, who do you think on the bench can be the 6 man of the year? Javon says Gallo. So could anyone win 6 man a year off the bench for the Lakers? So I think because they've got three stars, Russ, LeBron AD, that's gonna make it more difficult for somebody to come in as a 6th man and get the minutes. That would allow them to become 6 man and have the impact have the ball enough to win 6 man of the year. Like you look at the guys who tend to win 6 man of the year. It's Jordan Clarkson who comes in and just gets the basketball and gets to go do whatever he wants with it. Lou Williams got to do that for a while. Mantras, Harold, Dennis Schroeder, these guys who come in off the bench and they instantly get like a 30 plus percent usage rate. I don't know that we're going to see any one of the linkers do that. But if I were to pick somebody who could win 6 man of the year, I think it's Kendrick nunn, because he's going to fit that mold in terms of he can get out there and light teams up quickly. So if he has a great season and he continues to average 15 points a game like he did last season for the Miami Heat. Okay, maybe he's in the mix. Eric, Trevor, favorite Lakers championship that you were part of back in the day. My favorite is the Lakers beating the Celtics in 2010. That's my favorite. That's the one. That was the one where the early 2000s ones, I was old enough to where I got it. I understood what a big deal it was. So the three peat and everything, those were big deal, right? Big deal. The championships in the 80s, I was too young to really understand what a big deal that was, but I remember getting to see them and how cool that was and everything..

"Getting a guy at a price that makes sense and assuming that he will have a bit of a bounce back here or just to have again another another guy you will be able to trade pretty easily from a matching salary matching purposes that could be useful to a variety of teams down the line and not have to worry about him just being an inspiring contract. Yeah. I mean, it certainly could be either of those things. It doesn't have to be one or the other. It can be both. The other one that has been positive is that maybe the event promised this when he opted in to get traded, right? Maybe he was going to just free agency and thought he could get two or three years. And they said, well, we'll give you another year if you opt in. And but they would only do that if they thought he was a good value at that number otherwise obviously they just would have passed to begin with. So again, those two things are not exclusive mutually exclusive things. They started working together. And you don't think you'd be a tradable contract if you didn't think he was worth that either. You might think that he'd be somebody who throw in, but you'd have to if you think it's a negative asset at that number, then it's not a great trade piece either. So I think that it all starts with that they believe that he's making about the right amount of money for the player that he is. And I think that that's fair. I think it's a little bit much primarily because he's like, the problem with Josh Richardson is that he's not an efficient score. He likes to he likes to create shots and get those shots up, but he's just sort of that type of player who has 53% true shooting. And it's not great. But a lot of times the player you get for that is more like pre Utah, Jordan Clarkson is right, the one that everybody goes to where the defense also isn't any good..

"That's paces the floor. While he can cover for them on the defensive end and thinking gotta help space the floor out for banda run a little bit more pick and roll where he actually gets to dive at the rim on the offensive end so depending on what he cost. That might be a fun fit. But yeah i think i'm good probably move on from the heat from here but they've done a lot of good stuff and it's going to be really cool to watch them next year. I think that team is is really exciting. Yeah as an other quick side to a good point lake. I think there aren't a lot of teams that i think Lowry marketing makes sense for I do think. I mean he's. He's been relatively easy to dog the pasture because he's struggled a lot in just hasn't been good to be completely honest but i do think it's like miami could find value in him if it's at the right money And they be able to insulate him on defense in in finding ways to get him integrated. I'd like to see a team takes on him. See if something's there but now that's a really great point So looking at you saw obviously resigned. Mike conley today. I wanna say it was three for sixty eight. Who's right around there. I can't remember off the top of my head. I should add this number pulled up. Seventy two point five also was more might be i mean i might be reporting bonuses. You know what i mean. I think i think it was who yeah but woven shamans like trying to one up each other with every three is the most annoying thing that happens. Every single year Honestly every day. But you know it's what's new Obviously i think this is. I mean it. They cannot afford to lose my conley. So resigning mike. Tomlin was extremely important for them. I think the money is fine as long as he's healthy. There's not really a lot to that. We've seen what my comment looks like with the steam and how important is to them in conjunction like obviously this is where we can talk more about the draft they got jerry butler super late I think it was the fortieth pick. He dropped a lot I would imagine it was mostly because teams. Were still just a little bit freaked out by him. Almost not being allowed to play medically in the But with actually being cleared. I don't think that that's something that i mean. I'm hoping that. That's not something ever has to worry about in terms of pure value like i had jerry butler fifteenth on my board To finish the year. I could have understood taking him higher. I really like what he's going to bring to this team I'm interested to see what that means. I mean i think he's a. I won't say redundant at it is the wrong way to put it but like he brings a lot of the same things that jordan clarkson does with probably a little bit more as a playmaker are decent. Bit more of as a playmaker say i just like especially for the value that they brought having another dynamic spacer especially off the ball like as a relocate or.

"45. I mean, what? What? Are you kidding me? Jordan Clarkson Last night eight of 13 from downtown. He had 40 so off scoring broads. You mentioned Ben Simmons earlier. 42 points. Um, for him, 12 13 from the free throw line, You know 15 of 26 from the field overall. Ben Simmons a big night but not enough for the 76 years. Jazz 23 5 13 and two At home on the year. Clearly one of the better teams in the Western Conference and right now the best team in the West will see how long that can hold up for that jazz team and play good team basketball. I like the jazz. I root for the jazz. And Plus, I like to see different team. I don't know what was up with their court last night. Did you see that producer Tom and some of the highlights where you look at? Uh Jazz had their new Younis or wherever the older exactly syncs up with the uniforms. They're that old. I guess it was the old school start. I don't know what that is. But it looked bizarre. Clearly not the Stockton and Malone Jazz. You need that I'm used to Um, but nonetheless, uh, you know, we're looking it just not there. I don't mind me alternate jerseys. But when it's not the team's colors, it throws me off a little bit. And that was just the aesthetic of the entire look of the team. You don't even know you're watching. It's almost like I'm watching the heat or the rockets. When you watch those highlights with Utah and Philadelphia with the jerseys, But whatever and the MBA That's another issue. Well, I'll give you one thing I like and one thing I don't like about what's gone on in the N B. A is for his dress code this year. The thing I don't like Is all these different jerseys, which I get you wanna have? Jersey sells fine, but they wear them way way too often, And I hate when home teams where colors I want the home team toe where the white color the White jersey And especially now, without fans in the arena or most of the arenas. Why do you need to wear the alternate uniformed home? It used to be? Well, they're gonna wear it at home to sell to the fans. But even that doesn't make any sense because most people are watching on TV anyway. They should go back. In the end. It's more now the norm to where the colors the usual road colors at home. That's become the norm. So I mean, I know I'm you know. There's no point of continuing to fight this fight. It's just inevitable the home team. Essentially where's what used to be the away jersey Now, all the time. It's rare to see a team as a matter fact, the next war white home life that was rare to see that S so That's the thing. I don't like the thing I do like I love the coaches on the sidelines now not wearing suit. It makes me more comfortable watching the games as opposed to it. Come on, who's really comfortable in a suit and tie here? You're coaching a basketball game that going to church is in a wedding or a funeral. You're attending. Here's a basketball game. Why the coaches have to wear a full suit. I think it always. I always thought I looked ridiculous. I hope we stick with this now. Even when things return back to normal, and fans are allowed back in the arenas. I hope they still let coaches dressed for comfort. It should be comfort first. Tonight. What? Exporting it is sporting event. What do you need to wear suit for? So I like when you look at the coaches on the sideline, and they look comfortable in their you know, whatever. Zip up hoody or not, Hoody, um, fleece jacket with the team emblem on it. And some comfy pants. That's how it should be. Maybe coaches are better because of it. I feel like I perform better in sweats than I do in a suit. Have you doing TV work? You know, you have to kind of worse suit, although now some people, including myself, do TV from home on occasion and you could be sued on top pants as what's on the bottom. What is it Party on top. Something on the bottom. I don't remember. This is on top. Yeah. There you go Back to business. Thank you, Producer Tom. Business on top party on the bottom. Whatever. Don't you like producer? Tom? When you look at the NBA coach, now they look more comfortable. I mean, it should be about comfort first. Why were sued? I hope you don't go back there Gonna be some changes that are permanent. Due to this pandemic, and I hope that that's one of them. I want them to be comfortable. Also just that this is not all of them. But the ones that sweat through the suit. That's the worst. That's the worst. Yeah, right. Good point. You could tell there sweating. They have to take the jacket off. And then you see the big stains under their armpits. And they're struggling. Jason Kidd was the first guy remember too prominently not wear a tie in a war suit and a button down, you know, had the jacket, but it was no tie, and I was like I like it. Cash and he looks comfortable. It looks looks good over there. You got a little sharp, though, can't be. You can't be sure I get it. But if you look sharp, it's fun. And a lot of these coaches, not like they're in peak physical condition anyway, So if you were suit, maybe could clean that up. But so they should be. I mean, you know, I look a Thibodeaux on the sideline for the big game, enjoying watching him not in a suit. He looks more comfortable which makes me as a viewer more comfortable as well. So I'm all for comfort. Actually, we're like a basketball coach, too, You know, because he writes all the other times. You see the basketball coach? That's what he looks like. Then the one time you see him in a suit, it's for the game and it's awkward. It's exactly right. When you ever see these guys in suits with one coach that I remember looking Good in a suit. And if I see him in anything other than a suit in years, since it doesn't look right, that would be Pat Riley. Pat Riley is one guy who patina. Yeah. Maybe Pitino is a good one. He looks a little Let's use your words schlubby in in non suit attire. I mean, you could maybe throw Phil Jackson in there as well. But Riley to me would be the number One guy always had the hair slicked bag dressed extremely well. And he looked, you know what he looked comfortable in a suit, so I wasn't feeling uncomfortable because he looked comfortable in a suit. He's fit, even slender, a new era. Where is it? The clothes fit him properly. Looked. He looked comfortable and it made me comfortable. But most coaches are not like that. And I like the look of guys who actually look like basketball coaches in sweats and a lot of police. LeBron James can hit free agency again, and anything is possible - NBA
"Not sure you could unless it's a guy with a not a great contract and maybe a teams looking to start over so the cavs are up against it they're way over the cap so obviously you guys you got guys like kyle korver and jr smith and and and love and tristan thompson and jordan clarkson were all locked in it at fairly sizable amounts of money varying degrees philadelphia has got the good young team and lebron ben simmons have a real nice relationship but ben simmons is a guy who do handles the ball and that's what the bron does because their relationship you'd give that a possibility and it's a good young team that made a nice run in the playoffs and you add lebron they figure the chemistry out they probably go to the finals but is that going to work lebron and ben simmons played together and then of course houston has been mentioned often as a possibility as well but they would have to deal with some serious capital shoes and how you'd figure that out chris paul wants to max and lebron wouldn't go there and less chris paul stayed you know james harden chris paul and lebron james who all play with the ball in their hands that would be hard to figure out that would be an interesting dynamic i you know that's you talking about three great players but you you know there's only one ball and what's the rest of the team looked like if you have to clear all that cap space if is that even possible so certainly the lebron james free agency when he ops out of his contract because he has one he does have an option year left when he opts out is going to be the biggest story line in the nba kevin durant can opt out and by all accounts he said flat out he staying not that he couldn't change his mind because he hasn't put pen to paper he says he's staying and there are some other interesting players that will be free agents and they'll be trades off season as there always are but the lebron james story this off season 'cause that's make or break it's make or break for communities l lebron james playing cleveland is worth millions and millions of dollars to the to the businesses in downtown cleveland by the arena is this is that will lose a lot of money if lebron james leaves not that he owes.
