St. Louis Blues defeat Bruins to win first-ever Stanley Cup

"They can sing whatever they want in Saint Louis. They are not singing the blues last night game seven of the Stanley Cup finals in Boston. The Saint Louis blues defeated the Bruins four to one for their first Stanley Cup Saint Louis. Score twice late in the first period. Ryan Reilly put in the first goals going for the fourth game in a row Alex betrayal match with eight seconds left before the horn. It stood up until the third brain. When Brayden Schenn Zach Sanford at it third period scores. While Jordan Bennington booted out. Everything Boston threw at him for most of the night. Thirty two saves a Senate shutout hopes dashed by Matt grizzlies in the closing minutes. O'reilly was named the Conn Smythe trophy winner is playoff MVP eight postseason goals. He's the first player to score in four straight games in the finals since Wayne Gretzky, we've heard of him the loser in the Stanley Cup finals each of their first three seasons after the big nineteen sixty seven NHL expansion. They were coached by the legendary Scott Bowman, but they were swept each time by the Canadians and then the Canadians again. And then by the Bruins remember that Bobby ORR flying goal, that was then that was the last time the blues were in the final, and this. Here. They managed to beat the Bruins with a statue of that Bobby ORR goal right outside of the TD garden. So hockey season is over the new hockey season begins next Friday with the

The Latest: Comparing Blues vs. Sharks

"Listen. I I'm fascinated by this, like, as goose the sharks in Bruins at have been storyline wise. I think competitively. This might be a better serious, the, the blues right now are playing at their best. They have all four lines role in pretty much all of the maroon line has been a little bit iffy. Thomas is banged up defensively they've been great. I mean again Meslin mentioned off the top of the podcast lake the sharks were diminished, but they're not the minister of the point of only scoring two goals in three games against the blues. That's that's indicative of two things. The four check that the blues used all season to control play and a certain little gentleman named Jordan Bennington back there, who has been as unflappable as Jordan Bennington will be the first to tell you that he is. And he's, he's the prophecies been realized nothing gets to this kid twenty five year old kid so like. I'm just fascinated with this matchup. I think it's a really intriguing one. I think these two teams match. Well, and I think it's going to be a hell of physical

"This team, obviously the addition of Jordan Bennington was was key. But was there turning point in the season aside from him coming on board that you felt like you know what? We can we can do some things. Let's just take it one game at a time. Was there one date on the calendar? Do remember because as you just said you playing with a bunch of goofy guys did somebody make you laugh or do something to bring his team together. Just sick main Bosie Bosie. Does a good job of making the room wi- rejoice around keep everywhere life. What I think she does good job of that, too. He's, he's a funny guy who keeps thing white, but he also makes challenges every day. He doesn't jobless out. He he came in right away. And he gave us conference gave us swagger. We kind of ran with it. They had it stirs. Sorry, I was Genton and the other for a quick second, you're done in the room and being at Saint Louis in. And I know there's a bunch of alumni kind of behind you there in sub zero. We had a chance, just a few minutes ago. It with like five minutes to go in a game. Bobby plague came into the broadcast booth. And those are the people that sometimes you think about it, and I know there's still a long way to go in this thing's not older. But the is there a special kind of enjoyment for you to see those guys around the rate right now enjoying the moment. Yeah, the first huggers, coach chase kind of had a tear it as is. So I knew Kelly since I was young and use the one that got me on the map gun to the band. Show. Pretty cool moments. All those guys lived up players in the finals. Kelly was hair so long and haven't got back so we have an opportunity here to win. The this is unbelievable. You don't realize how close you till over. We're four ones away from winning the singing magin that. Chaser told me a story that when you were playing for his junior team, you guys went up to Alaska and he came up to you and said you're ready to go big guy. And you looked at him and said, hey, I didn't come this way to lose to lose still feel that attitude whoever this.

Stanley Cup Playoffs Daily: Blues push Sharks to the brink

"Us now after a big Blue's win in San Jose. Alex Ferrario thanks for coming on overnight, America. Well right now. Right. I'm so inept up. I'll come on, anytime you want. At this point, I'm getting sick of all the San Jose fans. It's like Crimea river already. So the blues after the debacle with the NHL, who has since admitted they made a mistake, when it came to the hand pass, the have come out swinging. They've only lit up one goal in the last two games a big five nothing victory today in San Jose with game. The next game game six coming to Saint Louis on Tuesday night. I wanna get your impressions of this big game five victory. What are your thoughts? Well, honestly if surprised at how much they dominated the betas as sharks, you know, I'd go back to that game six against the one picked. Yes, Ryan, where what was on the brink of elimination and blues held them to two or three shots. I believe through the first two periods of the game. And you know this I think was the biggest game of the season for both teams. I mean, I don't think either side what's to be down three to two in the series, and especially now that it's coming back to St Louis where the blues can eliminate San Jose Sharks, where they're two for two and elimination games playing in St Louis. So I was very surprised at how much the Blu Ray able to dominate San Jose Sharks. But the end of the day you just gotta take into the Packers. I mean Jordan bidding to outstanding for the shot that he did see the blue defense was even better limiting David n shots. The final two periods of the game. But at the end of the day, I mean, the blues have gotten to stand. Jose sharks. They're in their head. I mean I you have an air Carlson was injured. Didn't play the third period. Philosophy hurdle is injured and didn't play in the third period and then three other guys left early in the third period, two of them because they tried to get fancy a nasty with their place. So they were down to nine eight or eight skaters at the end of the hockey game. So I mean, the blues just completely dominated Ryan, and they got into the day, sharks his head. And, you know, I think right now the sharks are way way big underdogs going into Tuesday night in in game. Six. Yeah. And the way that the blues have just been able to play their game. They're playing solid hockey in. It's just amazing to see how they could smother the opportunities of the opponent. We saw towards the end of the last series. And now we're seeing with the given a very limited shots and even quality shots against San Jose. So comes back here. And I think the blues got the eye of the tiger. You know how exciting this is for Saint Louis to know we could close this out and go to the Stanley Cup finals on home ice. I know the pressure is there, but the blues are looking so good. Yeah, they really are. And I mean you know you gotta take him to the consideration. Some of the other things from the game today to Ryan you know, the offense terrorists Saco with three point four points. But the goal in to assist James sports with another hat trick. I mean, we spent we spent so much time throughout the postseason talking about where the big names are where the top scores are. And now they're starting to show their faces against the San Jose Sharks team. And this is huge coming back to say Lewis because not only are you going for an elimination game while you're trying to do something that hasn't been done since nineteen seventy I mean, think about that, for a minute, almost fifty years since the blues have been in a Stanley Cup final, and they could police their spot to go to that on Tuesday night in Saint Louis and taking a consideration. Everything that took place that season from firing Mike, yo to bringing in Craig ruby as the interim head coach and springing up, Jordan Bennington. And fighting through adversity and fighting through everybody. That said there's no chance of loose can do this. And now they're about to push their ticket to the family Cup finalists. Just incredible. Think about in. I mean, honestly, it gives me goosebumps to think about how loud enterprise center, we'll be back to twenty sixteen. When the blues eliminated Chicago Blackhawks from the playoffs in the first round and means that place blew the roof off of the Scott Trade Center at the time. Yeah, multiply that a hundred if they pull out a victory on Tuesday night, and I think it's a big if because look San Jose Sharks knack for gets the wall. And if they could find a way to get their injured is in the lineup. They're going to be dangerous team to deal with plus the watch party that they had is a pretty good indicator. The fans are just ready man. They are a Hong grief for this. How cool was it to see that? Yeah. Yeah. Petrocelli are phenomenal food assistance through regular season. In most seasons. That'd be a video. He was there. And from what I understand they sold out that enterprise, and now they weren't selling out tickets for the top fortune. They were telling them for the lower portion, but you said that they were sold out that place was loud, that place was Brockie in, in the top dad. Both part of village was shoulder to shoulder from what I understand watching those games. So the city is guiding for a Stanley Cup championship. The city is dying to be in the finals and to be in there is one thing. Let's do it with the storyline that the blues put together this season. I mean, if you think about it Ryan this could go down. If the blues were to accomplish this daily come this could go down as one of the best duck and tap run in the history of the National Hockey him, it could go down as one of the best seasons in the National Hockey League for a team that was. Last in the NHL January stuck in considered to be done talking about trading away their top players. And now you're sitting here talking about playing the Boston Bruins in the first earned the final round of the Stanley Cup playoff just on real to think about it is really is. So this is really unreal. Five wins is all it's gonna take now five wins to be that close considering where we were just in January. So I wanted to talk to you about the game. That's on Tuesday night. The blues have been looking great ever since that hand pass man. They've been ignited they got that either tiger going on. What are you looking for on Tuesday night here in Saint Louis? Oh, you're gonna have to look for them to be responsible. Because like I mentioned San Jose is going to be a very dangerous team. I mean look they're one of the highest scoring teams of the regular season in the postseason for the NHL and you know that all centers around what will happen with Erik Carlson. I found it really interesting today after the game, you know, was asked if he looks back on his decision of playing Eric Carlson and regrets it. And, you know, he said hindsight, you can't really sit there. But you got to do it all over again. Yeah, you probably would have spread Carlson because of that nagging groin injury and didn't play the third period. So look, you gotta wait to find out what the lineup it'd be a look like if we're gonna have a Carlson Belsky hurdle looking to any of those big time players for the game. But, you know, Tuesday's gonna come down to the blues remaining focused on what they're trying to accomplish. You know, these guys have talked about how big it was Craig ruby to come into the locker room after game three without hand fast and tell them it's done move on. Get ready for this one. And I think that is the reason why the team is where they are right now trying to win. It's hard to go to Stanley Cup. Yeah. You know, it's, it's going to have to be ready for that game going gonna have to be ready for a hard push from the San Jose Sharks in the first period. But who's got the fan side behind him. They got the whole night's behind them enough to click. So I think if they just do what they've done so far this season. And then in the postseason, I again I know it sounds dumb, but simple hockey is what's going to win the series for them. I gotta say that Tarasenko shootout goal Goldman or the penalty. Schott. What a laser shot from him man. And I think that these players I mean they're going out there and you saw kind of a balancing act. Sometimes you see the star player step up and sometimes you see the role player step up. You've had a pretty good mix of that going in which is pretty good indicator. Plus, you've got a great backstop with Bennington that's been playing well what an exciting time. Can I just vent about one thing? I'm so. Sick of NBC in their coverage of this, you know, every time they go back to their analysis. They could care less about Saint Louis, you know, they, they focus, here's what San Jose's doing wrong in. Here's their chances of coming back. They could care less about Saint Louis. I'm getting so sick of this. Yeah. Me. You know what I guess I should say surprise me those kinda surprised because if you look at the TV ratings in this in the previous game and really throughout the playoffs Louis is dominated television ratings for these days, which goes to show you that people in St Louis care, the people outside of St Louis, tear keeping more about watching this thing. Sixteen people saying they don't even really care about hockey. They were going after the third goal scoring. I know on afternoon. So but you know what? What's four frustrating to me is just the consistent. I dunno pumping the tires of players like Joe Thornton, and players like jokes Avella ski and Logan. The tour. I, I mean just any chance, they get the talking about how great it would be killed when a Stanley Cup for the amount of time. He's been in the NHL what's up forget about Jake Bohm Easter who's been in the NHL just as long as Joe Thornton, who's never wanna Stanley Cup. I think that's a very intriguing side of it. And then you're. Talking about Logan could tour with his eleven goals in the postseason, which is, you know, high up there since two thousand ten with Alex. Oh, betchine's. Well, let's look at Jay Schwartz. Who's one goal away from tying a blues record for most postseason goals with bread home. And I like I get it. You wanna California team in there if you're NBC, and you want the California Boston, west coast, east coast at the end of the day they never wanna Stanley Cup was dying for Stanley Cup.

"Win the read is there but it's got to be a comforting scenario for Mike van Ryan and Craig berbie to know that when one of your guys goes down you can bring in that kind of steady defendant. I mean there there are teams in the NHL that don't have the top six depth, obviously to the Saint Louis blues, much less the top eight or nine at the same blues have now finally curbs. The keywords steady at Jordan Bennington has been certainly games following a loss. We all see the numbers ten to one eight three goals against the nine thirty four. Save percentage only reason that there's only a dozen in that sample size because, well, the blues haven't lost that much with Jordan Bennington in the net. He gets another opportunity tonight. And really, I feel like they've taken on his personality. His temperament as Jordan Bennington responded. The blues have responded and visited back in tonight. No surprise known. What? However, and, and I think that you can't say that the blues need him to be a little bit better. And frankly, I know they're saying on both sides of the puck. Right. And the only reason that you're saying that and maybe a little unbear- this both teams scoring a bunch of goals. The blues scored three or more goals than four of their last five games, but they would at least three on the board, of course in in all three of these games against San Jose. Four of them, two of them. And that's the same scenario for San Jose, except they went six in one and one in five and one both these teams have shown that they've been able to get into the offense zone create some scoring chances and beat the other team's goaltender min you're talking about two teams and save percentage right now in those dangerous situations right now are below nine hundred for both of these guys. And you both of these guys put this cells and their teams in a position to win. Nets all you can ask even though the blues head the comeback in the last game. Chris Martin.

"Get which to get that at game ten and it says a lot about the way they write means they've been on a heck of a streak here. They've done a real good job of being in every hockey game. The last game for whatever reason Dallas came out firing the blues, I thought it was going to be one of those games that you know, we're gonna tear it up. Cinco scoring right away. And a power play golden beat on that one because their penalty kill had been, you know, killing us at that time, but it didn't turn out that way. So unfortunately, we end up with a loss. But I think that the third period was much better. I think Jordan Bennington decided he was going to change the mood a little bit which I loved every second of it. I'll tell anybody who asked me I loved it. I thought it was a great move. I don't think for one second. He lost his cool. I think it was calculated. I think that he had had enough. And I think he wanted to send a message and get the boys going, Jamie. Let me ask you was there. One second at which you didn't approve of that not even for a second. I thought we need to cough out of the crease. And I thought to myself he's going to fight Bishop. Can we just we talk about the sarcasm that Amy throwing? Professional down here on the head. And then there's Amy second. Even a smidgen. I thought it was great plotted immediately ribs as a as a player, did you ever feel pressure a plane at home pep talked about this going to Dallas talking about why they struggled at home and said he felt like that the other team was getting their game faster. And I don't know if that's pressure. Just a matter of the other team knows that they need to do that right away. Yeah. Playing at home is different animal and for a lot of reasons. Right. If you're a young guy, most of the time, it doesn't impact.

Bishop now the Stars goalie trying to beat Blues in playoffs

"Thing. So the blues and the stars enterprise center tomorrow night, eight thirty is when the puck drops you're going to hear it here on came elax. I wanted to get some of your impressions of what we should be looking for when the blues take on the stars. I think a close series obviously to teams that know each other really, well, you know, Dallas when three or four this season. And I think that kind of interesting thing is that, you know, two of those three wins came when the blues plan really really well, but I don't know how much you take from those matchups just because this season for the blues was so interesting and the blues faced a couple of times some guys out. And just the way that this year has gone the way the Stanley Cup playoffs has gone. You know, I feel like you can't really Bank on anything. I think the blues in Winnipeg we're very very close by virtue of you know, how well they know each other. I feel like Dallas in Nashville the same way Winnipeg in Nashville the simply last year. So you know, I expect a really really close series. I guess one of the big questions is how much will home-ice matter after it didn't matter at all in the first round against the jets. Yeah, that's true. And there's a lot of pumped up fans. This is going to be a really big goaltending matchup between the two teams. Both are extremely well. Yeah. Bennington, obviously has been one of the stories of the NHL since he took over back on January seventh and made his first start in Philadelphia. And then Saint Louis, and Ben Bishop has been, you know, incredible. He's obviously guy who has done it before. He's got the hardware. He has been to the mountaintop and. You led the NHL and save percentage over the regular season. So he's a big guy. He is a very very active. He is I think just as a hockey fan a lot of fun to watch. And yet to goaltenders that are playing really well Bishop ended the season on a really really high note as well. I mean, I get four shutouts in his last seven folk games that he played he missed some time in the middle of March with lower body injury. But you know, it didn't seem to slow down. And I watched two of just how sometimes these players can feed off of each other. And I look at Bishop who is a hometown guy, and he's gonna feed off of the starts here in Saint Louis. I'm sure which will elevate his game. I think Bennington wants to prove himself. So I think that will elevate his game too. I mean, we're I think up for a real big match up between these two. Yeah. I mean, it's fun to watch some of the best go had had when the stage is the biggest. And I know that it's not technically Ben Bishop in Jordan Bennington going head to head. But you know, a goaltender can swing a game or swing a playoff series. It's certainly think we saw Jordan Bennington swing. You know, the blue season once he got into the net. I think he is pretty much. The reason why the blues are where they are right now they have kind of taken on his personality his swagger and is production. So yeah, I can't wait to see, you know, a couple of games Bennington was just I mean every game. But really couple of moments that he was just unreal. And really kind of helped the blues win that series against the jets, and you know, for Bishop as well, I'm sure it's going to be great

"Score Blue's defeat. The Winnipeg Jets, all Reese, some gold nuggets. That's for sure it is press conference. We'll hear from those once we get into the fourth period. But let's hear from tonight's game winning goaltender. Let's hear from the rookie goaltender who has won four playoff games. Jordan Bennington with Amy marks force. Okay. Jordan. I'd have to say you didn't lurk look nervous. So he didn't feel nervous. What did you feel out there tonight? You know, the team did an incredible job. Right. And. The building is loud. So. Visit excitement and. You know, just try to stay in the moment. And do do my part in giving him a chance to win and got a little too close for liking in the end there. But we stayed with the right till the end, and I felt great once. I phoned buzzer went he faced a team facing elimination. How did you guys match their desperation? Yeah. That was a new new feeling for us. Obviously, they were playing desperate. They're gonna come hard. You know, we we are on the other hand were trying to close out the series and we're excited. We didn't want to go back to Winnipeg. We wanted to win here in Saint Louis. Oh. Just mash their intensity and also just stuck to our game plan. And did what we believed in in our system and played our game. So did you feel the home ice advantage tonight? Yeah. Honestly when you get an early goal like that. But for sure they were awesome are loud and they're excited. So fun Saturday night at this point..

"In twenty wins for Jordan Bennington in twenty seven games played this season. And right now, he is top two if not I in almost every category in terms of rookie goaltenders this season to me a shoe in for the Calder Cup or the Calder trophy this season, but Jordan bidding to just continuing his impressive year and also take into consideration. This was the second time Tampa saw Jordan Bennington, and they had a little they had video in a track record of Jordan. So it's not like they went into this not knowing what the goaltender was going to be able to do. So that's a big takeaway from this one. And then how about this for you, folks? Kita kucherov a guy who has a hundred and twenty points on the season. He had three shots on goal. Five of them were blocked in three missed the net. He had no points tonight was a minus one twenty four and a half minutes played and he matched up against Bom eastern Perico five twenty two for Perico twenty-five. Oh, seven for Jay Bouwmeester combined. They had six blocked shots. What's tells you how shutdown those truly are for the Saint Louis blues? Some of the final numbers from this one. Also it was forty two shots for Tampa Bay twenty six for the blues. They lose in the face off battle forty nine point two percent to fifty point eight percent. But boy they win huge in special teams going one for two on the power play in three for three on the penalty. Kill against the best power play unit in the National Hockey League. Four three final score. What a winner that one. I think I'm pretty sure the producer has to pot down his Mike whenever it's an exciting moment 'cause vitality is a scene. Stealer. There was one of those calls the season whereby tally just overtook Chris Carberry because I think the the engineer on the road potted down curbs as Mike when he made the call invite tallies up. So all you hear vitality. Just a phenomenal call. But hey, that's Joe vitality for you. Well, this is Monday night. It is chilies week in hockey. She's Amy I am Alex Mike Anderson in the house as well. And boy, oh boy. Do we have a lot to get into in the next two hours as we have a star studded lineup because we have shame. Don't the longtime Arizona Coyote the future Hockey Hall of Famer one of the best to play the game. One of the best to be a leader. In the game. He is gonna join us in our next segment, and we'll also have a special guest along with Shane don't. So we'll have that for you here from Brayden Schenn tonight, plenty of conversation to get into in guys. It's gonna be it's going to be a battle royale in the second hour because Amien I are going to carry over what we did in the post game on Saturday afternoon. Jake Allen or Jordan Bennington. It's going to be a barn burner. It is going to be a barn burner. Slobber knocker. You never know where you're going to go with whatever cliche words, I could come up with. That's what it's going to be. But Amy practice today really left us with a lot to talk about. And I guess yesterday left us with a lot to talk about is the news came out that Vladimir Tarasenko who missed the game on Saturday. And who Craig ruby said it was day today and not too concerned about it. Well, he's done for at least ten days Hobie evaluated after that what we're being told as an upper body injury. Whether it's a shoulder, whether it's an elbow hand. Whatever it is. You're not gonna see Vladi for about ten days. And that's a big that's a big hit to this team. Yeah. As goes Vladimir Tarasenko Sogo the blues and and the beginning of the season. And it's happened before. We're Tarasenko has a slow start just a little bit sluggish. She's not himself, and he pretty much on variably engages down the stretch. That's it's called the kick. He's got a kick right engages down the stretch. He starts playing his best hockey. And he's even said that before this is not only when his game comes alive. From a full perspective offense the way he plays defensively louisan -ticipant in the place. But he just starts having more fun. This is Vladimir Tarasenko time to shine. And you need him the blues Needham, especially when you have this sputtering offense a little bit of a millennium falcon type offense, it can go. Go light speed or ludicrous speed. But every now, and then it just sputters and you're like, no, no right to keep that going. So now that he's hurt you start to worry that it's going to do the old sputter, and you hope that it doesn't have the effect of what Jaden Schwartz injury last year had the effect on the blues of everything just turning around. But you know, I'll follow up with what you said of wouldn't Vladi goes the team goes all say winnow Riley goes the team goes right now, it seems when Sheng goes the team goes, but that top line is broken up. And we'll talk about a little later who's going to be in the place of lie detector Sankoh when I think it is the best decision. His blues team could have done at the time. Now the other injury update which boy knock on wood that no more injuries happen. But seems the injuries are all starting to fall in at the same time. But today at practice you had Pat maroon go down in the far corner of the ice at the mills during a practice had to be helped off the ice by Colton Perico. And Ray really could not put any pressure on his right foot. Amy. We all up in the stands were sitting there going. Oh, boy, that's not good. But Craig ruby provided some some interesting commentary..

"Been called them. I've been with Jay for a number of years throats various call ups, and he's been he's been great to me always in early on. We got to bond a little bit and this season. He's been great. Every time we go to a new rink. He'll give me a little pointers on some balances or certain players tendencies and. It's been a great dynamic and his playing great too. So. That's good for for everyone. Is there anything about his style? It stands out that you admire young younger goaltender is. I think he's kind of adapted over the years. To the game and every year's is different year. And you know, the game changes all the time. So he's very athletic and competes hard, and he's he's calm at the same time. And he can play the puck very well. So it's good for me to to be able to see that. And and learn from him learn with him. Like, I said it's been a great dynamic. Do you think there's some sort of inner team competition between the two and a healthy way where you both are playing terrific hockey as of late. Sure. I don't know if I want wanna use that word, but I think we're both encouraging each other while and you know, if the teams winning it's beneficial for both of us and obviously for the team as well. So that's over or destroy them for we want both guys to do. Well and succeed. Working hard. I wanted to grab you for a second talk about your shootout the other day. I mean, you were almost pass the hash marks so aggressive. What's your mindset doing that? Yeah. Just kind of be aggressive is my first one in a while. And I think when you're you're in the players face, maybe they look up and they get along. Now see much net. So I think it's my approaches to be aggressive and make the player makes the first move. So yeah, I was successful night with Jordan. I know you're such a chatty guy. I kind of wanted your opinion on what the Carolina Hurricanes do after games. Just your general analysis of the party that goes on here and Carolina. Yeah, they're enjoying it. That's good. I don't know if I've enjoyed doing that every game. But you know, he'd do like winning and the fans like winning sofa creates a different dynamic to the city at Carolina and organization Jericho, Fred, Jordan Bennington. He is your Saint Louis.

"Alon. Sorry might van Ryan joining us. Mike, congratulations on the win. How important in the momentum of this streak was the start for your hockey team? Well, it's big right now. Our guys are feeling pretty good about themselves. You get scared. Sean more than we have all year. Within inside the room. So we get a little bit nervous about it. But I was real encouraging. How we started the game came out came out hard. So hopefully, we just keep building here. And then I have a good road trip. Mike, what is it that Jordan Bennington has done that as a confidence dropped his lineup. I think it says confidence just there's an about on me. He doesn't panic in his NAT and our guys don't really panic confronted himself. Just contagious, and it's been great. I wanna ask you real quickly about your former teammate jay-paul miester. When I looked it up today. He's played more games than anybody else in two thousand and he's really had a good rebound on this season, hasn't he? Yeah. "You mentioned curve, you lose a time out which can take advantage of the time out right now, which isn't a bad time. We'll take a timeout because the blues have one shot on goal. And you give yourself a chance that maybe you'll see something that we haven't seen. But from our is I don't know about you, look like a pretty clean goal. Now. The puck was at the side of the net and Bennington was already down on his stomach, and it looks like it's Bom Easter that bumps into him more than anything. He goes to cover the backup. Well, actually, AB hold on what they're what the blues could be arguing Joey is the fact that the New York guy lenders forward with the puck underneath the glove of Jordan Bennington. And here's a good angle at it puts the glove down. But I don't know that he ever actually had it. And then it was back handed in by Abberley. So yeah. I think the idea how to interpret add to be honest with the only goal tender interference case, you may have Jordan has slept pass on the post. The puck is right there. You see Anders Lee stick come in. He's going for the park. Instead, he misses and drives his blade through Bennington pad which throws him completely off balance. Actually throws him into the net. That's probably the only thing I seen. Yeah. When you look at it from a couple of angles, it looks like it could be goalie interference. When you look at it from the low angle on the far side of the ice. You see the puck come back out of the glove. Now, if they determined that it came out from under the glove because it was jammed up by the player, they might make that call but good news is it concert Toronto. "Fifteen here's Alex for aria. Thank you a little round table with Chris Rabi and Amy Mark scores. Alex Ferrario with you guys will start with the blues as they are out in Dallas starting a road trip this evening and what a road trip. This one is going to be they play nine of their next ten games on the road. And it starts tonight against the Dallas Stars and hopefully trying to turn things around a little bit. Chris compared to what they did at home in these last five games. Yeah. And certainly, Alex I think that the game on Thursday night was a good start as the blues played on the really complete game and beating Montreal and making Montreal I thought look pretty sloppy great game from Jordan Bennington. I got the power play started early unfortunate that Robert Thomas and both Tyler Boesak head to I are. But you know. I think a lot of positives to draw from that game. Hopefully take into this weekend tonight against Dallas. And then to the rest of these seven games in the road trip before the all-star break a concussion for Tyler Bosak in Robert Thomas is a shoulder both not with this team on the trip. Amy. But one thing we don't know for sure yet, but we would only assume Jordan Bennington, maybe the guy back in that against the Dallas Stars. Why not ride the hot goalie because he looks so confident and the key is he's confident in those big visible plays. That's the problem with being a is everybody's watching you all eyes are on us. If you make one little mistake it really stands out. Well on Thursday night, Jordan stood out the most visible moments, notably on odd man rushes and on breakaways. And that builds a lot of confidence from it the team, and you know, that they can run with that the puck drops tonight at eight o'clock against the Dallas Stars. I'll have your pre game skate starting at seven thirty Chris. Some cardinals news as well as they avoided arbitration with a trio of players, which is great news, including walk. Osuna Dominick Leone. Yeah. There won't be any arbitration hearings for the cardinals as they settle with those three guys winter warm up next weekend, openly warmer and no snow compared to this weekend. But yeah. Month away now from pitchers and catchers reporting down in Jupiter, so nice to get those deals done. Keep our eyes on major league baseball free agency. Also, the trade and see if we start to get some movement with some of these guys is just kind of stagnant. Right. A lot of free agents already coming off the board. A couple of college basketball notes, the Missouri Tigers in South Carolina game was postponed. So the wait to find out when that one will be made up. We'll have the Slough Billiton's and action against LaSalle later on this evening. You'll also have the fighting ally in action on Wednesday. And then Chris we have NFL action as playoffs just continue to roll. And it starts with the chiefs and colts this afternoon. Yeah. She's in Colton Kansas City after a heck of a year by Casey, they will try to move onto the AFC championship. They will take on the winter that game. I should say we'll take on the winner of the chargers and patriots tomorrow. Tonight. It's the Cowboys in Rams in LA and then tomorrow afternoon the lake game the eagles and saints New Orleans again the puck drops for blues against the stars tonight. Eight o'clock seven thirty pregame skate and with the best blues and cardinals coverage Malik Ferrario on America's sports for the constant.
