"I game one. Oh five saturday. Currently it's six and a half. The colts visiting the bills. It opened as a seven point game. Sixty percent of the bats. Sixty percent of the money is on the bills. Michael will start with you where you going on this one but my number say i should go with the coast but i like the bills all week. I'm gonna go against and based on what you just gave me. You steered me off the ledge. I'm gonna go with buffalo. I think buffalo's the second best red zone team on third down in football this year. They're scoring at a rapid rate. I think brian daboll were really have a good handle on. The eib reflects defense. And when i look at philip rivers the last two games in january that he's played the baltimore game that they want was fifty two degrees but when he plays below forty one degrees. He's played three games. He's lost all three. I'm gonna go buffalo and since you me that the team wins their cover. So that i'm gonna pick tick. Buffalo galvin lead dude. Colts have ability to play down and up to teams. Let's go philip. Rivers five and two against the spread road. Playoff games rivers four. No wild card weekend and bills have the worst run defense of any team in the playoffs this year. Jonathan taylor to the todd town called cisco to keep it closer. We can't let it get away from of a ballgame all take the points. Bharti's going bills guppies with colts pat. I'm going with colts. Just because i don't want to have to wear Area who wanna

"Know in michigan. As i've watched you games that means a lot to me personally and then i watched when games because i'm a big ten Fan i never thought you. Jonathan taylor would need to have some sort of reset or less than about what to do in the ball's in your hand or or have some sort of proper mentality when that happened. So what are you referring to when you're saying this about your journey and getting to the point where you're ready for the playoffs at the top of your game right now. Well i wonder what you referred to right. There are a lot of times people will really made it down in the slums. Let's say they had a bad game. They're not sure like man. Am i really cut out for this. I think one of the biggest things is realizing that adversely is gonna come. You're here for region. I mean that's one of the biggest things that i got from. My teammates is you're fine mean your rookie year. You're here for a reason. You need some time to adjust Crazy year by stick with your process. You know don't waiver or change from the process that you've gone through that to where you're at here if you're going to have a bad game vs happened on that you can do is to continue to prepare and try to minimize minimize. The amount of native plays station might have continued to push through because like all in all the biggest message that got from my teammates. Was you're here for a reason. So keep that in a vacuum your mom. Did you have a welcome to the nfl moment early on in the season somebody hits you some sort of moment where you thought. Okay that whole. That normally looks like you'll be able to gallop through In wisconsin closed up. Something like that. Do you have any moments like that. Jonathan's and i definitely did one instance happen i win. I will we plan. The texans replied to texans in portion watch film one no blitz all the time so okay. This guy's phone for this guy likes to run around But with this time businesses show sheer. This kind of my is how elite the nfl is this. This guy we were playing on. The texans was cunningham and.

"A game right now. It is the wednesday before national championship. Monday there appears to be something going on. Covert related On the campus in columbus. Ohio with the the ohio state university and I'll say this chris you're gonna have an update on this coming up in our number three If they get a delay delay I mean it doesn't. I mean we'll hit that later on but to me. It should be a no brainer. A no no brainer. And there's a couple of covert or related football related issues for playoff game. You've got that going on with alabama and An ohio state. Then you got. What's going on with the cleveland. Browns and kevin stefanski was quoted. Today saying he he would love to call place. Here's an asked for for yet or any sort of request but that that will be denied by the nfl. I'll tell you that we'll get more into that in our number three kyle brand of good morning. Football will be joining us. Eight four four zero. Four rich is the number to dial. We're going to take your phone calls this hour as well. Our poll question sitting rich. Eisen show at richeisenshow. Chris brockman. Woody have here now all right as we talked up before guys super wildcard coming up super walker weekend. Who's got the best chance to pull off the upset. Browns colts titans the washington football team. Okay go through at richeisenshow and vote on that. I'll put my thumb on the scale before the hours out as well we'll ask that of Combat cow brain I've had A man love for jonathan taylor for a couple of years even though he has absolutely the the old the mug here that. Jj watt me that. Add to put on my desk as losing a bet. Two years ago when wisconsin beats michigan I you know this mug that says a cop holds rich eisen tears. Wisconsin mug The person who basically got that mug made was jonathan taylor day. He's amazing and he Finished up a rookie campaign for the colts chris. The guy was struggling in the middle of the. You're you know you know. he found. He wound up. Third in the league in rushing right only dalvin cook his. And derrick henry more rushing yards than have came on he sure did and so snickers hungary's player of the week award and when it came opportunity. Hey do you want to zoom with jonathan taylor. After the show i said absolutely. And here's a conversation in joining me here. On the rich eisen show via zoom fresh off of two hundred and fifty three rushing yards the all time record in the history of the indianapolis colts getting set for his first playoff game as such. He is jonathan taylor. How are you jonathan. I'm allowed me shoot ran the playoffs. I mean that s for you wanna be during this time of year. So it's an awesome feeling. Well you know what There is an alliance snickers and you are wearing you. Know the the the medallion for the hungriest player of the week. So congratulations on that and we will get to that in a second. But i just wanna read off some of the accomplishments here if you don't mind the two hundred and fifty three yards That you gallup for beating out hall of famer edgerrin james for the most in the history of the colts you joined edgerrin and marshall faulk. He's also in the hall of fame. Is the only rookie running backs. In the history of the franchise to run for over a thousand yards and also have ten or more touchdowns in a season. When you hear this one what what goes through your mind jonathan. It's it's just amazing. Its humbling really. Are you mentioned the company that i had the opportunity to put myself around this past week. It kinda makes you wanna work harder because you understand that you worked hard to get to this point in a wasn't as given to you so it kind of makes you want to continue to work because it's only right by those guys because you know they put in a ton of work to get there and it would be a disservice myself to to try and stop working. I just because you had a good game. It's amazing and humbling. Why would i want to describe for the radio audience. You just put good game in air quotes you can remove. The air quotes jonathan. That was that was that was good game. You had one. You're forty five yarder to kinda salted away as something. Your team needed your team needed. It wasn't Wasn't coming very easy against a one win team in in jacksonville and i'm wondering what that means. You know how what feeling that gives you that you salted away for your entire team. The being a playoff spot for you. It means a lot. That's what you play a game. In order to earn the trust of your coaches and teammates. And i'm the kind of guy to wear. I wanna know that my teammates. My coaches can trust me. No kind of win the game on the line to call my number and understand that. I'll be able to get my job done with at a high level and so the two hundred fifty three yards by You in this game following up. A performance Prior to the week against pittsburgh where you had two rushing touchdowns you've got seven touchdowns in the last four weeks including one hundred and fifty yards against vegas in a in a big game what what has happened for you in the last month. Normally this is where rookie wall hits. New seem to have absolutely destroyed. That if it actually exists for you i. It was really leaning on my teammates especially in the running back room in he jordan. Marlin being able to lead on those guys. There were a lot of times when adversity hits throughout the season. I am one of the biggest thing that they told me was that adversity is to be expected. If you came into this league banking that you will not basic versity. This is not the right now. Lead for you. And i think understanding that process and understanding that i know aversely and he's going to stick to the process state patient. Because that's when i allow you to persevere and push through is what helped me kinda continue to get better and everything we yeah in the middle of the season you had. I guess what would be somewhat of a deputy know where you weren't near the you're not nearly on the field as much not nearly getting as many touches. Was there something in the of the season for you that required you to abbas step back taken by you or your coaching staff doing that on your behalf or something like that yeah definitely it was definitely a mindset changes well understanding in college. You know you're kind of used to be on the field of time And coming into this league. You have a lot of lee talent around you so understanding that you don't necessarily you don't need to have the ball or plays called around one hundred percent of the time because you have guys men who are more than capable plane in an elite high level. But what matters is when your number's called. Will you be ready to play. A high will make the most out of the opportunity. So once you know you had that mindset chain understanding that no matter ran or how. My number's called be able to do my job at eye level. The matter if it's with the ball out it do it at a high level. So that coaches and teammates are able to see. Hey jonathan is playing really well either. The as the ball. And that's how you're in charge of your post teammate. Jonathan taylor of the colts here on the rochester. This is fascinating. Because i never you know having watched you in the big ten watched you destroy my alma mater You know in michigan. As i've watched you games that means a lot to me personally and then i watched when games because i'm a big ten Fan i never thought you..
Taylor-made day sends Colts past Jags, back into playoffs
"Rookie running back Jonathan Taylor rushed for colds single game record two hundred fifty three yards in a game Indianapolis had to win beating Jacksonville twenty eight to fourteen the colts clinched a wild card playoff spot Taylor said Indianapolis was able to take advantage of the jags defense that's one of the biggest things is understanding that you know when you guys in your heart are ready to go tomorrow what you can see the defense you know they're hanging on by a thread that's when you have to put the foot on the accelerator and keep going the colts defense sacked Jacksonville quarterback Mike Glennon six times and held the jags to just fifty two yards rushing Jacksonville beat Indianapolis in the first game of the season and then lost fifteen straight the colts head into the playoffs eleven and five Tom McCabe Indianapolis

"Ninety five mil in the cap next year. How can they even signed to. I don't know how they're going to move that by the way because if the salary cap stays flat going to have to cut people but they're still dead money so they're gonna have to get people to renegotiate somehow but if you're any of these players that are potentially cap casualties next year Matt ryan or anybody on the saints or anybody. Well i don't think he's going to be cap casualty because they pay. Yeah but i'm saying like a purse. There's no way you can re negotiate your contract. Matt ryan one hundred million dollars. It'd be impossible to trade him. If matt ryan there's zero chance you get me to renegotiate. That was you guys. Fuck deals okay. So maybe i'm not as good as i once was but i'm a good once as i was and that's when i walked to the bank and see the amount of money that you guys. I don't know how there's going to be a lot of moves they're going to have to be made. I'll be intrigued to see how it all plays out but drew brees being basically done after this year is something we all thought but now it's being reported about health run by through through group. Good riddance what you say. Good get the fuck outta off. Why do you hate him so bad you just. You said he's pompous. He's pompous asshole. So you or two in general you look at his interviews mannerisms stuff like that but yes he was also he was just a brick to me. Actually rose yeah. I mean i still have a herniated disc up here. From when he fucking put his elbow rating in my back at radio row and disney. So so are you thinking that you're trying to get nbc money. Is that why you haven't sued yet. You're referring to get nbc. Exactly see how that herniated disk t one t to potentially who seem right and wait for him to say something stupid piss people off and then boom you hit you slide right in. Then it's like you had your shot i did. I was too busy dancing on his grave. Juju what was what was twenty eight hours thirty. Two hours were drew. Brees was potentially never played football again. This past offseason team other teams are circling him on their calendar. His own team his own team thirty two hours and then everything changed immediately on a social media very quickly assuming bro got a crisis management team and figure this out smoothie king from bronco tweeted it and when romblon gets your problem look out you are in trouble and drew brees. Yeah all those records to. They'll be broken at tone digs tomorrow night. They will be broken immediately. But in due time i patrick mahomes is just going. Are you doing how you doing. Come here i come. Drew brees stan. Drew brees needs the pimp all his records whenever he retires by the way. Yeah with shoes. But i'm saying he needs the pimp those ours possible because it is not going to be for too much longer before. Patrick mahomes climate and put some banners in the superdome raft got. Yeah just enjoy the shit out of it. Because it's not his fault by the way at one point troy aikman probably had a pretty good passing career. Where the nfl was. You know what i mean. And he was passing like sixteen times game fifteen times a game seventeen times game or whatever like standard. Now you've got guys thrown thirty forty times a game. All of those records going to be changed. All those records are going to be changed then. There's this as that's why. There's so many asterix asterisk that you need to put on all the records because as the game change like tight end records. I mean those are all going to change. Slot receiver records israel. Going to change. You're talking about everything and defenses. Can't be held at the same standard as they were before. You know there's just so much there's so many qualifiers in every single conversation but drew brees records to your point to honor their probably gonna disappear pre quick. I was pretty quick louisiana. What's poll for the day Yeah what team would be the scariest plan that fell playoffs and you. You put the air quality around the hot. Yeah because you didn't title that that's just how they are title exactly okay. And which four teams are they Right now less surprising bears eight point. Nine raiders actually spelled. The wrong i apologize. I put the wrong ten point. Eight percent vikings. Sixteen twenty and ravens. Sixty three point six percent. What have you done for me lately. This ravens team. They play like they played on monday. Night problematic forever kuchen if they play potential poop game alleged poop game lot of cramp game if they played like the ravens played for the six weeks before that not very problematic now granted that ravens team has not been able to be around each other much. There hasn't been much practicing harbaugh. You've got to remember. He almost entire team. At one point. There was leaks coming out of there that players potentially not happy. He was a much different vibe. This year it was last year for the ravens but if the ravens gonna play like they played on monday night they are problem if the mars gonna be dancing and poop and on you that is going to be a problem and i'm not saying he did that whenever we want in there. I'm just saying whenever he gets going. He's pooping and shitting all irving. That's potentially problematic joining us now. Ladies and gentlemen man who's a running back from the university of wisconsin can throw up the West side or the dubs. Whichever way you want to do it. He has four hundred and fourteen yards in his last three games. The indianapolis colts his rookie season. Ladies and gentlemen. Jonathan taylor. Our junior was that county. I don't know gal technology. Yeah well conscious could do that. And that's the only reason why we can talk shit on him on national you know. And it's okay Before we get into wisconsin. Potentially you know getting sandbagged this season by having their their quarterback lead the best night in the history of college football based on his opening night and then he's told to go to prison for twenty one days can't even touch a football then they come back before we get into that whole thing. Because i know a lot of love for that we have to talk about how you've been able to transition into this incredible. Nfl player through this season was it was there. Is it mental. Has it been physical. Hasn't been learning. what does it been. You think that has made you really blossom here these last three weeks. Which by the way great news. This is when you should be playing your best phone. You seem to be doing that. What is it been this season. That has got you to this point. You think where your dominant you're absolutely dominant. Jd is definitely a mental aspect especially when you come from a school where primarily. You're under center in then your last year you have a couple of schemes out of the gun. I'm there's a lot of different schemes that require different timing different tempo from the gun versus running same scene from underneath so just realizing no scheme. You're was set in the taran and understanding the timing and tempo and it's something that takes rapson apparently year that we're having You know it's an unprecedented year. So it took a little bit more reps because we have some reps taken away from us in the offseason the missile a little bit difficult to get timing especially and nobody ever thinks about running backs timing by the way everybody thinks about wide receivers tight ends. They don't think about the running backs timing because you're so close to each other but whenever there's different steps you have to take for different schemes and shit like that. You don't even think about that earlier. In the season phil rivers was miked up and it was. He was saying he's twenty. Got the edge on you. I believe is what he said to got. The edge on was to Somebody on the bears but then also in that same game he looked at you. He said like ronnie's ass over like he told you..

"I have one more of these. Four you will w we have a bunch of questions to get to cole beasley. Adam talked about him earlier. Hit twenty point. Mark actually Point work for the third time this season. He was double digit points for the eighth time. This season kenny. Do it again next week vs steelers adam. One hundred person especially against the steelers man steelers. You're going to be just passed this a big big game for the afc. I mean you know the steelers got the first law so the bills have i guess. Some outstanding chance still getting a by It's like the steelers. Were to lose out or something crazy but But yeah i mean as game script goes. This is a game that i expect to be high scoring and i expect to be a shootout of sorts Though the bills are going to be throwing the football and we've seen from this on offenses. Kobe was going to get a ton of targets. Stefan day's gonna targets and josh allens run all over make plays and because of that. I mean for me. Kobe's like must start guy. Maybe i'm crazy but top twenty. Npr so far this year so crazy like a fox. Josh adam crazy no he he could do it again. I mean the guys like you can basically only men for six or seven targets game. And he's going to have a few with twelve thirteen. Eleven these done. He's had three games with double digit targets. So it's it's happening Beasley his game. Give me folks feel good about me. Feel good animals. Nicest thing that's happening for you met last. See kobe's getting all this love all right. We got a bunch of listener questions today. we'll try to get through these as best as we can We don't always prepare for the listener questions. We like to kind of free. Sally's bab way. So we'll see what we have here in front of us This one is directed to adam his specifically for adam. And it's a question that we visited a lot this year. Thanks justin at jackson. F f underscore. After watching four years are refialy going to see a breakout season. Twenty twenty for corey. Davis adam landed. Yeah i get it. I get it. It's trolling me. it's fine. i still don't think. Torii avis is good. So there's but you know he's he's been good this season Aj brown has not really. So there's that jonnu smith and injured up so there's that derrick. Henry hasn't gotten nearly the that has in the past so i think there's a lot of factors that go into corey. Davis is a guy that we saw multiple seasons year after year. Have high expectations completely fail on those expectations and he finally goes off his fifth year in the league. Just so happens to be the year where there's tons of situational things going on Maybe it's no fans in the stands. Maybe that's what gets him to play well But you know hats off to corey davidson in all honesty for for being somebody who most people have completely road all if you stuck with him. year after year after year. Well you were a loser. Most of that time this year this year it's great And hats off to you. Because i surely didn't see this coming But if he's shown us anything. I mean core davis can have huge performances. I think going into next year. I'll be very very interested to see where a guy like. Corey davis is drafted. I expect him to be overdrafted. Very much so It'll be interesting to see justin..

"I. Just i don't know i'm nervous about that offense going down the stretch Alcan's this week. This should be get right week. But even while justin. Herbert was super hot. There they had no rushing game productions so came back had a big week last week. Completely irrelevant but that might have been just game script. That might have been just the situation. I'm not thrilled. I think it's kind of you know. He's one of those guys. Oddly enough uganda falls in very similarly with david montgomery with you know Jonathan taylor in a way. He's somebody who's gonna be used in the passing game because of that. He's going to have a high floor he. Somebody do drafted probably higher than my expectations are going to be for him. oughta those three guys at probably rank him the lowest going into next week but him in montgomery would be pretty neck and neck. I think so. Yeah i mean. I'm not thrilled. But i think he's still go like flex worthy discussing discussing discussing discussing. You are nasty man. Austin ekeler top. Genuine bags got him. It's very possible but Josh is sounds like feels that bill belichick might have beat the confidence out of the chargers. Didn't it wasn't that game. Forty five zero here. It was he. He did if the confidence that he visit at them. I don't think that's going to happen again. How often do. Nfl teams get skunked. That at least know and joshua kelly is heard. I don't know how much time he's gonna miss not getting a lot of work. Anyways it's really capable ause now behind austin ekeler but i don't think he's a very dynamic player. I think ekeler will will get plenty of opportunity. And i think the chargers will score points in games. Can i take back everything i said. So yeah a full disclosure internet connection terrible pro football reference taken a minute to load to he and sixteen targets. last week. he had sixteen dr last week. I mean you know when they play buffalo not last week against new england but last week against new england again nine targets over the last two weeks. He's had twenty five targets. I mean that to me. That's that's stuff to overlook especially from a guy that easily doubled the russia's. That's that's really tough to overlook. So yeah i mean it. It's weird. I feel like a broken record but He very much so falls into that. Jonathan taylor david montgomery or he range of guys. Who i think are probably only gonna see ten to fifteen rushes are gonna usage in the passing game and for that. I still like him running backs broken records week. Fourteen says it's just the you man. They're all the same type of usage guys. Guys who are going to get way. More usage in the receiving game than they are touch out of the backfield and the rushing game. It's just the type of player or each of those guys seem to be all in situations cater a for sure..

"He should have the opportunity to run the ball. And if so i mean hey. He's got the hot hand right now. He's feeling good. This texan seem is vulnerable to run so yeah trust it. Why not i. I definitely have no issue with montgomery. You know doing it again this week. So trust for me. Josh trouser trust issues david. Montgomery and twenty Fancy points i have trust issues. I have to think that that david montgomery is is just benefiting from circumstance and i. You know adams right about the schedule getting a lot easier but this guy has just. He's he's had decent volume all year and his underperformed it all year until these last two games. Yeah but it's so ironic. Because you'd literally just said the exact same thing about jonathan taylor. But you liked jonathan taylor. And it's the exact same situation had volume all year was inefficient miss. Multiple weeks missed one week and john. Taylor's case comes back has a performance where he sees more volume is extremely efficient. The herald i insist. I'll i jonathan taylor. Because he has the athletic profile expecting to to be able to dub and because david montgomery is slow. I expect him to be bad. I mean overall from what. I've seen from david. Montgomery i do not have high expectations of him from a talent perspective. I just know how the bears used their running backs. And i know works on that team And they've given him a ton of work all year and the biggest thing for me is just he could. He gets a ton of targets. You know almost every game. He's seeing multiple targets some games upwards of five to seven targets so for me that just that heightened says potential so greatly begin though with the player like jonathan taylor that we were just talking about. The question was top twelve going forward. This is twenty points or more. They're they're actually pretty similar. It makes me almost rethink jonathan taylor now having some perspective on dividend. 'cause it's like the expectation for those players was different complainer. The season i had higher expectations for jonathan taylor. So i'm just him still based on those high expectations. I have lower expectations for david. Montgomery in reality right now. They're very much the same player.
"I still trust issues. I mean down the stretch. You expect rookies to know be acclimated. They're all fences and further touches to really star to increase foot. As we've gone going through here. I mean we've got rookies. Banged up rookie. Seeing less touches now. Jonathan taylor is kind of been a more unique case if you will Because the his kind of been struggling throughout and now hours finally quote unquote getting healthier. Getting right but I'm still a little trepidation Just with their overall usage. I mean the game hines has been getting a ton of work there. I don't really expect that to go away and overall mean that the team's winning games and they're scoring points but it just. It's not an offense that i'm really excited to get super invested in so obviously if you draft jonathan taylor. You probably don't have a lot of better options. He's not really guide. That i think it's easy to benched by any stretch of the imagination but My expectations are capped. The if you look at say we ten through thirteen. Just recently jonah. Say kinda recent they did have a bye week but npr Jonathan taylor sixteen was funny. Isn't he finds a seven so if you have to choose one of the other I would go. Hi ends at this point. Still but i understand if you have a waiting on jonathan taylor this whole time to be excited to be happy that you know. They're starting to see some positivity but know speaking of workload with clyde edwards helaire mean. That's john taylor. Trauma to you know like this high isn't going anywhere. He's been good at what he's been doing. So yeah i mean it's definitely concern so out have trust issues too. I just don't you know. I'm not gonna get all excited when this just starting to turn the page here. I got to see more of it. But i know that if you have him like you said he drafted him earlier of your dynasty and you kinda got excited about it..
"Been depending on their kind of kind of hurting us now. After we've bragged about the mole year Boyd and parker gonna fight last week. I everything i've read that they're not gonna get suspended the fines. I don't even know how that current as a fight. I'm sorry to interrupt but did you see it. Like the acclaimed punches were thrown. I'm like if those are punches. You barely barely. It was It was the most mild fight that i feel like i've seen people get attracted for. Yeah wasn't that big of a deal. We've seen worse. I would say the nfl so yeah they should both be fine though So we have to worry about that. bengals Bringing allen had a chest injury has anyone seen an update on. That doesn't care nothing. Nothing recent i assume. We'll get updates tomorrow on him most of the time. That's when you get updates on on these sorts of injuries but yeah. I mean as far as care. It's tough to. I mean they definitely have had options in that assing game though that have stayed relevant even with the loss of borough so you know if he got he ends or via boyd. Y- you care at least to some extent because that's probably honest. I don third string quarterback is but i'm sure to thought good yea only gets worse more than likely So keep an eye on that one. Darrell henderson suffered a knee injury. I also not seen update on that he did leave the game So you know the injury runningback if it's bad enough probably not gonna play but that's another wait and see. That was no clear word on that one. james conner with his cova diagnosis. He is expected to return. So that's a good thing for the playoffs. Maybe if you had antonio gibson or ca they do get benched for some reason because their injuries our health in maybe connor come back and help you out a little bit. We talked about it before the show guys bryant during this game is being played or now. Cities quit in the season due to his pre-game positive. Covid test he was not happy about it. He was tweeting on twitter about it. Not not happy. Obviously very understandable kind of sucks that he got an opportunity to come back to the game. He's played a few games and now he's got like probably never play again this year and possibly never again. His career discuss sucks. That plays out. I can have a worse person at this point If i don't know anyone who's starting does brian. Their leagues or was in a position. Care how this affects the team in any way. But it's just sucks overall for news you know Did you want to be guys wasting waivers or anything on. Does this year. Just because i guess i wanted to happen i mean i kinda feel his frustration a little bit. I'm sure i'm sure he's just kind of angry. He feels like he still has something to give. And not..
Week 10 fantasy football rankings: Running Backs
"I running backs schedule running backs derrick henry. It's actually pretty terrible for the next. three weeks. colts ravens colts. They are top for against fantasy running backs. Then it is unbelievable. And this is the time of year. We're derrick henry gets going anyway His last three his fantasy playoffs are jacksonville. Detroit and green bay. So i i'm recommending. My dalvin cook sell high. And we're going to wait until this primetime game against the colts and hope derrick henry struggles a little bit. And then we're going to sell dalvin cook for derrick henry and very good wide receiver. Okay i because he's going to destroy jacksonville detroit and green bay and the fantasy playoffs. Jonathan taylor is. I have a tough time. Buy into this. But has four matchups against teams. That are twenty nine. Th or worse against running backs this week against tennessee. I don't think it's that great of a match up. They've been really good. The last five games against running backs these per carry giving up some points. But they're giving up touchdown they are giving up touchdown touchdown every game tennessee this year. But you know he's got houston he's got vegas. He's got houston again in week. Sixteen might be tough against pittsburgh but the match ups are great. Does it matter. I don't know what jonathan taylor. We'll see what his role is he's got to just he's got to start playing freely and i think that's what the colts are waiting for. I think the colts are going to give him every opportunity to to get there but he. He's splitting the russian downs. Work with jordan wilkins in the hemans. The hurry up back the passing downs back. David montgomery talked about best remaining schedule. And then two teams. That probably doesn't matter but the foul. I guess i shouldn't say that all that. You guys determine that via broncos and the patriots like damian harris is is locked in. He could be pretty good down the stretch but obviously we don't know if that's going to be the case but yeah patriots and broncos have good schedules now. You go running backs with bad schedules. This one i think is very very important. Kenyan drake. I don't know if anybody is really into kenyan drake but terrific low. You think so yes. Because he's got some very good run. Defenses coming up very good. Maybe he's not such a good bye. I hate the schedule. Buffalo's not good. That's this week. if he's back. Seattle is a good run defense. Their twelve against running backs new england's of matchup. But then after that. So we're talking. That's week ten eleven weeks thirteen and on the rams the giants the eagles the forty niners. That's weeks fourteen. Thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen. Those are four really good run defenses. And that's kenyan drake who only runs and doesn't have any involvement in the passing game so the whole point is to trade firm at the lowest possible price and it's because chase edmonds isn't gonna take his job when he comes back at it sir feels like he'll still have that role that rundown role maybe drake as the guy to go target. If you're desperate for a running back in the next three games not so much for the rest of the season you think this week. He might not even play this week. That's the problem is today. It feels like those games that you're referencing in the playoffs. Are more chase edmonds games than kenyan drake games like. Drake could play all four of those games against her. Three of those games against a good wendy fences and for edmonds might just be better. I think it's four good run. Event is the rams giants eagles niners and the giants thing. They're just about like fourteenth about as close to average as you can be but that's because they're really bad against pass catching running backs. They're not fourteenth in run. Vincent fourteenth and fantasy points allowed to running backs so that does feel more like a chase edmonds game like you. Just look at antonio gives they give us some touchdowns. Mckissic was a lot better than gibson. Even though gives another touchdown i dunno. I dunno school. Fantasy points because of the touchdown. But that's my point like these are good run defenses. So for a guy who's not involved in the passing game at all too scary schedule. I think down the stretch for kenyan drake.

"You'd be very much. I appreciate you haven't meal right back at you. Let's stay in touch. Jonathan Taylor. If you noticed I, didn't ask him about the conversations about Cova nineteen and. About. You know sometimes you do worry are the rookies gonNA handle their business properly? And Be Professional. Because many rookies don't know any better. Don't get that sense from. Jonathan. Taylor, John. Good man only Lord Look Clyde Edwards Layer. Is a special players we saw from Lsu is the Lsu Ron back. In case you're wondering I'm starting to first round a fan he he went in the first round in the NFL draft and it was Andy Reid who took him and boy oh boy oh boy now that's why he's going a high up and fantasy because. Especially Damien Williams opted out if you wanna just talk fantasy football in that regard. We feel I think you get a sense that he's in a catbird seat position as a rookie running back coaching scheme. Teammate wise desert right. But Man. Jonathan Taylor. Again. It's difficult to when you make this analogy because it was said by a sociopathic Cannibal in the history of film. You Covet what you see every day. which is the Hannibal Lecter Line I what I saw. That dude in the fall that led to drink from this mug that Jj Watt gave me that holds my tears. Jonathan Taylor is amazing and when he gets the ball. Indianapolis Colts fans are GonNa love him. He runs with passion and he runs with a physical to use the Michael Irvin phrase and the way he would say physical manner. And MARLIN MAC and him and he mentioned Roosevelt. Knicks as well. They're really good. They're deep. And they're going to run it and Quinton Nelson blocks with the. Fury of Thousand Suns. and. He steals your heart and your soul when he comes at Ya. I. I could not when I saw the Jonathan Taylor got drafted by the colts. I'm Outta texted you on the spot like. Out took out. Look out. All right. I'm I've in love for Jonathan till I'm not gonNA. Lie If they just perfect back two thousand yard seasons, she only missed three in a row. He missed it by twenty three yards freshman year gosh. Dude is the truth second round pick sitting out there. I know running back supposedly dimes a dozen but not this one. nope he's at least a quarter us that. Oh my gosh. Our thousand yards, ten touchdowns, I think that's the four. But Marlon Mac has got he was excellent. And he is excellent and he's GonNa, get a lot. But when you're in a rotation and if Marlon macktaz, not stay healthy look out, he's going to be stepping right in. I think we just dropped a little fantasy nugget on the rich Eisen show quad cast audience. We'll take a break from that and we'll be back with your phone calls and more at eight for four two four rich before Dr do you own or rent your home?.

"I mean was that it good fit for you and you know whenever you have you know off linemen asking you how was. How was their? Execution of their job I mean just makes it that much more fun because you know that they in a urine to it and you are you all WanNa make the best choices for each other you know but he's was Jersey Guy. So everything is where cars. That's right. You use a jury. What exit from doing? Oh He's so he's from up north I I don't know that might be city up the turnpike you might be up the turnpike. Okay. So what's the city we can figure that out Holmdale home didn't Like one third again it's again he's talking we're talking turnpike. That's probably like exit ten. Yeah. I think that's like an exit ten turnpike trying to recall because my parents used. To tell you might my parents lived in Marlboro New Jersey for many many years Art Center. It's off the parkway. Okay. Off The parkway very good one. By the way we're turning into ways all of a sudden. Taylor. All. The New Jersey instead the episode of the Californians from from SNL. He's he's really good man so. Part of me is just genuinely rooting for you and concern and part of me wants to give my listeners and viewers a little bit of fantasy information. How many touches you expecting me get? Jonathan Taylor on the two thousand. Expecting here I'm going found ninety. I'm not even sure I mean come on I guess not like we don't even talk about that. I mean one and one thing we'd be talking about as we talk about you know especially I I talked about it is. Now what does it take to to be? You know a guy at this level because you know that's all we. All WanNa be everyone in the back room wants to be a guy every time they step on a field they want people to know hey. Make sure. You check this number because if he gets the ball in his hands, we gotta make sure that we're on a because he can make something happen. So being able to just pick his brain and you know. Whatever you things that he see things that he does on the field he's coming up on my hey, what did you see there? I mean what? What made you do that made you think of this being able to pick his brain or something that I'm GonNa keep doing something I've been doing it I can't wait to see where it takes us this year. See I knew you know I I shouldn't have just come straight through the front door would somebody as smart as you Jonathan Saul try this try this. What are your personal goals for two thousand twenty? What are your personal goal? Thank you. Thank you Jonathan. Taylor definitely definitely this year I want to do the most that I can in order to. Even have not any. Errors You know what they could draft talks about is a guy who stays in this league the guy who's a great football player consistently That's the way you stay in this this league and I want to be consistent and that's something I tried to do in college and I still WanNa to and there's even more important now at this level because consistency is everything well, you are consistent in your to answer. So here's repeat after me Jonathan Taylor I want thousand thousand repeat after me say those words. Everybody will thousand. Thousand thousand that would be amazing. Ten touchdowns, eighty catches. Let's go. That would be amazing if you could do rookie year. have you reached out to Melvin Gordon is is there a person back group of some sort or James White is out there as well as we all know, he's a, he's a super bowl champion. Have you have you reached that at all? I definitely talked to Melvin Gordon and I mean, and he he stopped me and told me I know he kind of you know knows the protections I'm a bit because you know the staff part of the staff is come over from San Diego Um. You Know Philip Rivers. The O C so you know Melvin was part of that so In between that period between draft day and then zoom meetings he was just going to tell me kind of things that I should expect with this kind of offense certain things that I should expect so. Him being able to help me out but also giving his insight as far as listening you know at this level, make sure that you're able to do your job. You know your playbook. That's GonNa be one of the biggest things is knowing your playbook because anything could be up at any time. And then outside of Football Jonathan have you in the colts had a confab about Jacob. Blake the gentlemen in the State of Wisconsin who is now Currently in the hospital after being shot in the back seven times Have you had a conversation about obviously social justice in any way shape or form in recent days. Archly we've done that in the in the off season, but we also have just done it today and no, we kind of re. Emphasize that we're going to be at the forefront we're going to be at the spearhead of this is movement I'm going into this season, and you know we definitely won't be silent But like I said, we're GONNA be at forefront and we're GONNA. Do everything in our power not to continue raise awareness. Have these conversations promote change now obviously Jonathan I know again. I'm asking a rookie who's got a lot on his plate. It's a pandemic your are coming true. You want to succeed and to throw this you know on your plate as well as is is a lot but is there a way that you can you share about the conversations that everybody had a within your your locker room today as you mentioned on this subject? Learn, of course, a lot of the opinions as far as what thought. But also you get a lot of people sharing their experiences of things that save experience throughout their lifetimes and. Even a a everyone learns no matter who you are. You know when you having this conversation, everyone learn something no matter who you who you are and I think that's the biggest thing that. You may think and I don't know anybody who does but you could probably think, yeah, I know quite a bit about it as far as you know things that have gone on in the past and throughout history. But when someone shares an experience with you they had and you're able to sit there, face to face with them and see that emotion on base here. Feel it made the changes you it moves something inside of you and it makes you. In makes you want to go out there and continue to be part of that chain that continue to promote change because he's a real people and he's a real life situation happening and it's not GonNa go away unless you know people take a stand and you know have these conversations but it's one of the many reasons why like having you on Jonathan and that I root for you despite you destroying a handful of falls for me in the college football. Is You are a real person person. You can tell you know that you're a real person with a head on your shoulders and a heart and your chest and. And a great desire to be great and I wish nothing. But the best I truly do and I hope. So there's many times that we get to talk this fall. Thank you very much I appreciate that Back at you. All right. Well, the pride of of exit one. Right, and that's the parkway correct. That's the Garden State Parkway. So Parkway okay. Not The because I I went exit one of the of the turnpike. And by the way James, Whites from Florida I thought he went to Wisconsin I. Know that I thought I thought only. Garden staters are allowed to run the ball. From them. That's it and you can do that. Thanks for the call Jonathan you take care yourself. You'd be very much. I appreciate you haven't meal right back at you. Let's stay in touch. Jonathan Taylor. If you noticed I, didn't ask him about the conversations about Cova nineteen.

"We welcome back our terrestrial richeisenshow radio team as well. Ron Sirius Xm channel to eleven and joining us back here on peacocks turn the page to talk a little bit of football by way of the State of New Jersey to Wisconsin to the national football league. The. Ron Dane missing other people to. Melvin born Melvin Gordon. Okay but even yeah, that's pretty much it. There's more there's more but Jonathan Taylor Indianapolis Colts Rookie here on the rich Eisen show. How are you Jonathan? I'm well well, how about yourself? I'm fine. So I guess the question is what exit are you from? Jonathan. Exit one baby at the end. Wow you talking like Delaware water gap is that what you're saying way down there. Once. Southern New Jersey, which is parked what part Delaware Pennsylvania all put it all together. That's where you're got that worker. I. Let me ask this question. So what is the Wisconsin hold in the state of New Jersey with running backs? What's going on with that? With that. It must be something in the water I. Don't must be some type of. Gravitational pull or contracting to tell you. Who Else recruited you Jonathan? So I was recruited by brokers Virginia Tech Boston. College. A few Ivy League schools and I mean it was tough. It was definitely a tough choice especially when you get a chance to. Go Ivy League and you know you have people in your you know you go. You'll be set for life on the other hand. You definitely want to test your abilities against some of the best hires Bachchan. But. You still want to have a great great education fall back on. So I just felt like the University of Wisconsin that was the place for me to do both of those things things, right? And did you think of me Jonathan when you were rampaging against the reins? Even I split second I'm just making this about me but. We've had conversations before, but you're one of the you and you and. People. I'm very pleased to have no longer in the big ten I'll be very honest with you. By the way, I should have the J. J. Watt Mug here on the desk go get it. Just, to get paid homage to walk yes this is the Mug that I had to I had to drink from Thanks to you Jonathan Not GonNa lie because this is the Mug that he He said that I. have to drink from when when has he wisconsin was beating Michigan here Chris Brockman bring it over right here. This is you. Compete you know he's on it is in a Wisconsin Badger Uniform Wisconsin thirty, five Michigan Fourteen final score I think he had something to do with that Jonathan. So thank you. One me, yes. Oh yes. It says this Cup hold rich Eisen tears. Is What it says. About. You don't have to say you're sorry when you really not a nice guy appreciate it. So my gosh, your dream of making the NFL is coming true but never a pandemic, what has it been like for you? Since hearing your name on draft night. A few months ago. Jonathan. So really now, it's about it's really just about trying to play catch up in a sense. you know you usually go to rookie minicamp and you have those on film you had that on field coaching. So now it's about trying to accelerate your learning accelerator play. During camp without having knows previous Reps. Any other normal working class would have and I think that you know this organization been a great job as far as the zoom me that we had and between the time of. Draft Day to come into camp in order to get a meal your possible with the playbook so that you don't have to focus on less of what to do. You can focus more how to do it while you're in camp and I think they did a great job at doing that and that's what I'm doing now is I'm trying to accelerate my play my learning just because my first time getting actual. Was On camp. That's right and so who's been helping you in that process walk me through the Jonathan Taylor team team. That's been sort of your safety net in that regard. So definitely has been Marlin but also rosie mix as well as far as the professionalism of it you know he's going into. Fifth Six v Six year and you know actually one day I was leaving he you know he mentioned to me you can turn your her up and I didn't really think of it. As much I'm just okay. Let me clean my locker. There's a little messy and then after I cleaned it up, you know he kind of started talking to me about how You want to be professional. You know you clean your lock her up you everything out for the next day. So when you come in the morning, you don't have to scramble and look for anything everything's already laid out and that's part of being a professional. So definitely, Marlin and in Rosie mixes is definitely the two guys who've been helping me a lot as far as getting me up to speed. And your your position coach knows how to run over people from his time in the national football league. Running backs coach in in Indianapolis Chris. I doubt Tom Rathman okay him. He can run some people over right Jonathan. Oh, I mean, the guy, one of the most physical players Adam you watch this tape I mean you can t and you can just feel it and the passion and his voice when he's coaching us and he's talking about being physical and talking about playing pounds I mean you know that's what he loves to do and I think that would just meet coming here was kind of just perfect because I'm a guy like to play physical play between the tackles but you know I also liked to you know get on the edge sometimes. So being able to team up with coach than and happened poor that knowledge and on me and he knows. Championship football I. Mean He's been there. He's wanted. So he knows what it takes to be championship a champion of a player. So definitely try to soak in as much information as I came from Jonathan Taylor Indianapolis Colts running back rookie running back here on the rich Eisen show and you also have some special people in the huddle with you. I WANNA walk a couple through with with you as well. Philip Rivers he's got he's got something this season to I guess to prove despite decade and a half plus in the NFL with distinction he doesn't curse you know that Jonathan Right, he doesn't ever swear. that. Okay Dad gummy bag. Dadgum it. Gosh. Darn I. Mean That's real. That's real. That's that's very, very real. You don't curse do Jonathan. It's okay. If you do know you don't. So that's too. So we're we're not working blue in the in the huddle. As what you're saying. I mean I think just to have a guy like that. You know a leader like you think of leader who has fire who has passing WHO's not afraid you know sometimes you know let their emotions go let it run wild to let everybody know how passionate they fail. Philip rivers does the same thing but without you know kind of vulgar language as such and you know when you have a guy like that, who's able to show that emotion patch and still have no sense of restraints, they'll be able to control themselves and you know in certain ways I think that's kind of leader that you want and I think that's a really good really and then protecting. Him and blown open holes for you is one of the best and nastiest Clinton Nelson his his film is the stuff of Legend and one would like to see him up close and personal so far for you. Jonathan. It's been awesome working with have just and just his kind of patching as far as wanting to get the right fit morning to take the right course you know asking. You know how does that court? How was that fit?.

National signing day tracker: Updates, news

Jj Watt Jonathan have not had the chance to meet. Jj Watt How's that possible I either busy man he's a busy man. Jj You have you not even texted spoken two two. Jj Watt Jonathan. Tanner and I haven't got a chance to connect with him yet I mean he has a lot going on you know outside of football to not just let I can't believe like do I need to hook does a Michigan guy needs to hook to Wisconsin studs up do I need to do that I mean that would be an honor and it'll be a pleasure Oh wow oh wow okay Jonathan what has life been like for you the last few weeks with a spotlight being thrown on you with your play what's it been like for you it's been really fun especially with the defense plan the way that they are finally get to talk about it was someone other than myself I get to talk about Brag about our defense those guys are playing lights out and I just I can't say you know how proud I am of them be just because the situations we put them in some time and they balance out so they're playing lights out how does it get from New Jersey get to Wisconsin Jonathan really hard work dedication the biggest thing is you know of course you know there there's a pipeline from Jersey Madison and Just something that kind of draws you in here I don't know it just being a running back I'm from Jersey kind of draws you win but once you get here and you you put yourself in a position and you take football out of the equation you can see yourself here in Madison Living I as a regular person like a non athlete so I think that's just one of the biggest things is just the people here where's the pipeline is under the Turnpike I never I'm from Staten Island I never saw that pipeline pipeline visible pipeline only Jersey guys can see the pipe is here this is who else has been in that pipeline for those who may not know Jonathan Ron Dane Davis like some some of those guys those guys are are big name guys who really carried the torch here and that's just like from my position but those are some of the guys who've carried the torch here and willing to biggest thing is you just want to do the same thing and you went to uphold that standard what makes you so diner Amac do you think Jonathan what what what is in you and your DNA that makes you a perfect for this position at the school at this time yeah I think being at this at this the thing that makes me so dynamic as my in my competitiveness willingness to try and get better because if you look at the backs we've been here I mean there've been some great backs so being at the position here you can't be complacent you know if you WANNA try to raise the bar you WANNA try to make it tougher for the next group running back again you're going to have to compete every single a day with yourself in order to try and get better to do so so who is your guy growing up that you're like okay this makes me want to be a running back so my favorite running back growing up in the NFL was Arian Foster That was one of my favorite guys since the reason I got twenty three and then of course soon to be you know Melvin Gordon I just an extremely talented back so those two guys Melvin Gordon was my my college guy and then area foster was my nfl guy does Arian Foster know that you were twenty three it does he know that I'm pretty sure I don't know if you've seen anything yet on me saying that but I've said it multiple times so I don't know if offers of former Texan so let me help you with both how about that I would appreciate that so this is using this is amazing and it's so funny I never thought I had this in me because when you're running for two hundred yards against Michigan in half a day I was so pissed off it was so upset but every I this is the first time I think you and I have ever spoken I've heard nothing but great things about you and lar- wh who is made you the person that you are Jonathan Taylor really you know just humble beginnings going back sail them on New Jersey what's my mother and Father just instilled in me hard work I mean nothing nothing too flashy nothing too extravagant or or deep story but just understanding that they went to work every single day understanding that things had to be done so when I'm here that's kind of the mentality that I have and as far as growing up the same mentality to just things have to be done and you know you're going to have to put your best foot forward and you have to do what you can get things done okay so I'm GonNa ask you a couple of questions here it's the same it's the same sentence but I'm going to change the the last word will I see you in Indianapolis in December basketball okay will I see you in Indianapolis in February that's the goal okay so next February I see you in Indianapolis Jonathan now that would that would go that would be if everything plans out well and you can't get too far ahead but you know of course everyone does level would love to be there in February so this is your last year in Wisconsin you never know you never know what can happen that's why we gotta take it day by day game by game and fast as I can see because again next level it does appear but you have the skill set to succeed at the next level WHO's the current guy in the NFL right now that you look like you think you you you have the same skill set as in the NFL right now Jonathan Oh well really every everyone's really different I'm but I can say some guys that I like to try model my game after just because the way they run and I like the way they played a game definitely todd Gurley you know he's very versatile but he is a great runner and as Eq- Elliott those are two guys That's who I think are you know bigger guys like not similar bill but you know Kinda of a workhorse guy but also very versatile so I think those are two guys is who are in the game right now that I really liked to try them out of my game after so let me let me also follow up with a similar question will I see you in New York City in December if every if everything goes well we keep on winning that'd be that'd be another possibility as well so what what would you do if you on the Heisman Trophy Jonathan Taylor what would you what would that mean to you oh it would mean a lot and as far as what I would do the only thing that you can do is think everyone who helped you along the way to get to that point teammate coaches you know just parents you know everyone who's helped you to get to that point where you are as a man and as a player the only thing you can so this week against Illinois you aware of the milestone that you have in front of you this week they told me about it at the sandblast games for rushing yards shy of five thousand in your career becoming the fourth player to reach that mark by the end of your junior season the others are la- Michael James Ron Dane we've mentioned in Herschel Walker that's pretty respectable neighborhood Sir and then and then I I don't know if you're ready for me to root for or you Jonathan but week nine you're you're playing Ohio State Jonathan and my children know to root for two teams Michigan anybody playing Ohio state that day would be user so you go okay Yes sir thank you are very welcome and I appreciate you joining this program Jonathan this has been a pleasure getting to meet you so let's go through our checklist here okay okay all right checklist number one hook and what would jj watt correct okay checklist number to hook you up with Arian foster okay that's number two number three is getting out of the big ten immediately if not sooner number would love that you know what I've seen enough you and I call the combat I do the combine for NFL network and I would love to meet you there if not as as soon as you would like how does that sound that sounds good got suny very much you gotta thanks for joining I appreciate the time you bet anytime anytime that's Jonathan Taylor at J. T. Twenty-three you're on the rich Eisen show those great you know if he does stick around he has a chance at the all-time NCA career rushing. thousands seventeen draft class of running backs and how many of them right now are dominating in two thousand nineteen of course I use that as a point to make my point out Amazing Frank Gore is at age thirty six leading team in rushing is no I mean and by the way he is worthy of top Joyce like Zeke was like fornet was is very good let's go down the list like girly would have been if he didn't have any problem like McKee Africa should have been but wasn't because everybody thought he couldn't run between the tackles wouldn't be able to hold up you can hold up Christian McCaffrey a number of times we knew he was getting you know getting it Tampa did a very good job they've done the best job in two games to run this year okay so a hold my tears how do I have to Hook you two guys up how does the Michigan Guy have to hook up star of the current Wisconsin Day and start of the Anita Michigan man's help but I'll do it you know why because I'm a nice guy very spiteful.

"They can they can get as far as they as they wanna go obviously they have to open it up a little more and company new concepts as the season goes on so it can't always look the same I think in a sense and it has to continue to evolve and it got to be creative not Michael Vick on the rich Eisen show a couple more minutes left with you around here for the AFC West let's just quickly turned the NFC west right here you got the niners undefeated the seahawks at five and one Russell playing out of his skull I think he's the club sleater for MVP does the jalen Ramsey trade is it too late for the rams do you think the rams can win this division again with Jalen now in the fold how does this affect it knowing that it's not too late in the one thing it does is shutdown one half of the feel for all remaining ten opponents left to see season Zealand's one of the best corners in the League and sometimes at this juncture the season you gotta make a move with a change in it's you know fulfil some spots they need to be corrected if if that's what the team sees needs to be done and you know it's going to be good for the uh-huh I mean not good for the other teams in division but you know Seattle and the forty niners already at the top of the division and it's GonNa be Long Hill there's GonNa be a long time they have to go on a win streak and around this time of the year teams need to start winning you know three or four games in a row that's how you make your playoff pushes you gotta get hot and the teams get hot right now are going to win games and it's obvious the forty niners and the Seattle seahawks are already hot so rams have to strike that match so Michael La- last one for you here on on before we send you off into that day when when you look at the entire landscape of the NFL and what we just heard from the commissioner Seventeen game season how do you think that's going to land in front of the players I think the players will accept you know and it all depends on if they cut out a couple of preseason game I'm thinking you know to even one the players they'll they'll compensate for that you know I don't think that'd be a difficult decision you know it's just one big check that you get you don't get paid for the preseason game so you know combine it all into one game in the game account I think is good for the NFL. and I'm I'm definitely GonNa Enjoy your rich because I love the game of football and I love watching it every Sunday so you know it makes for a long season I'm I'm happy I didn't play seventeen games athlete went as a spectator Yeah that's where I was going to go Michael I mean you know I don't know how you're feeling these days but used to take some hits one extra game is I would think that even any extra games might be a non-starter for for the players association yeah it might be but I think guys think about the needed they generate the money is going to be made and the money they put their counselors say you know what's One more game you know what's one more game of entertainment you know fulfilling your stats whatever motivates you within the game of football you know what's you know one more opportunity but rich only at the you know only a big mess that you know is one one or two preseason games taken out and then I saw it in training camp and then issue we'll to the season a lot quicker so I think only only if that happens then you know the seven game season make sense Michael thanks to the conjoined having you on there and I look forward to seeing you on on the grind hope you do a whole bunch of them Oh man I hope so too man had so much fun doing it and it's going to be awesome so excellent like I look forward to that Michael Vick right here on the rich Eisen show check him out on on epochs on the NFL grind him with Philip rivers and when we come back television only segment I'll give you a glimpse him Philly Riv- throwing the ball around and he's talking about Philips throwing motion which is you know it's kind of like a frisbee where it comes in it's amazing Phillips description while they that for you and then I'll walk us through the finances best I can tell about seventeenth game would do how about what Michael Basically said the players food the players would basically say okay as long as the preseason gets shortened yeah everybody wants it yeah thanks he wants preseason games not look one extra game check I'm sure that's music to a lot of guys it's it's the fans to you know it changed so I don't really good books we'll we'll start from scratch we'll start from scratch that's actually the wasn't always a sixteen game season either so no that's true I mean look uh of stuff we talk about with since nineteen ninety one and all that and it also can be a bargaining chip could be something that's out there okay we'll take get off the table and get something that maybe they consider more important agreed eight four four two oh four rich number to dial when we come back one of the top running backs in all the land I'm talking professional and collegiate this kid is dynamite from the University of Wisconsin I'm GonNa get my jj watt bog. Everybody okay Jonathan Taylor next on the rich Eisen show okay this is a thirty second commercial and I'm GonNa throw a lot of numbers at you but please.

"Of the rich Eisen show on the air eight four four zero four riches the number two dow we'll take your phone calls as the phone lines are lit the commission in the National Football League just spoke to the media gathered in Fort Lauderdale as they are wrapping up their fall league meeting right now the commissioners given podium the podium away to a couple of former players that are staying right up there and he s Williams there in his in his gold jacket and an Anquan Boldin his speaking to the media right now we'll find out what he's delivering but the commissioner said that a seventeen game. NFL schedule which would mean I imagine an eighteen week season is currently on the table with the players association and the players will have to sit there and decide what that might mean in terms of their physical wellbeing but for their financial well-being that would make a larger pie to use the phrase of one of the owners that is probably proposing this to the owners right now we much larger Pie and I will explain that in in a in a quick second but we'll take your phone calls on that at eight four four two zero four rich but I turn the phone lines right now by the Jonathan Taylor University of Wisconsin running back will be joining us in this program the heisman hopeful there for the Wisconsin Badgers who are just horrific six and six ranked overall in the world of college football but one of the most dynamic quarterbacks do ever lace them up he's working with Fox sports right now but tonight it'll be a correspondent on NFL the grind which is the show that I host on epochs he spent some time with Philip rivers and Keenan Allen in the Los Angeles chargers last week he's Michael Vick how are you Michael I'm doing good how about yourself I'm doing I'm doing just fine what did you find in In Philip rivers towards the end of his I guess career or in the back nine that he's playing there in Los Angeles I found passing and his back uh I mean his willingness to continue to compete at a high level is probably higher than it was when he was younger and you know you mentioned anything about how long he's GonNa play or how long he's going to continue to do it he just likes up man and it tells me that Philip rivers will be playing for another four to five years because he's having that much fun I think what you get and you know this stage in your career and I witness did when I was thirty thirty four thirty five I just love teaching young guys you know how to play the game and I think he's enjoying having young ask man and helping them understand the game of football and what it's all about how to be the best status so his passion is staying up and you've been there and you've done that Been on on teams that have super bowl aspirations and folks might not know but you can tell me what what's the name of the quarterback who came up with the First Road Win for a playoff team the history of lambofield Michael What's we'll be me so you've been you've been there you've done that and also you've been on teams that have fallen short did was there indication of the type of performance. The chargers would would would actually forward on Sunday night football against the steelers team starting to third string quarterback Michael no it was no indication at all and even being in the locker room with players they were very bad vibrant seem like they was having a good time and And feeling good about the week coming off the tough loss in one no get back for not winning you know Vince loss seems like that was the common goal for everyone and speaking to some of the guys and I just put it never seen coming but just anything can happen in the game ball any given Sunday so as to how does that happen is there a way that you can just from your your wisdom and your experience just how how you can put it together we're all wondering what type of team are the chargers can the steelers actually replicate that with Mason Rudolph did he come back after their by is there an answer to all that Michael is it a assets the charges not going in and looking you know sort of flat yes I think you know not. NFL team comes into the stadium unprepared what I think you can do is come into it underestimating opponent and when you got a guy you know in harsh just starting for the for the steelers quarterback you know you kind of I think that he's GonNa make mistakes and things are going to happen in your favor and it won't be detrimental to your side and before you know this guy is prepared he's hungry you don't know what type of Klay as he comes out and surprise you so I think that's what happened to the charges and you know for Pittsburgh for them to find a guy who came in and played the way he D- under those circumstances on the road you know sometimes you just continue to roll with the hot hand let Mason Rudolph he'll that's what the game is all about Michael Vick's joining me here on the rich Eisen showing you can watch his work hanging with the chargers and Philip rivers on nfl the grind tonight on epic's at Nine Eastern time here in your name a lot Michael Salaam Lamar Jackson goes out and does what he's been doing of late do you speak to the kid at all yeah well we we talk occasionally you know did it sit down and if you're willing to lash they're working hard he was working on his craft every time you know I sing something going on with the more time you text or call it was you know always just grinding it out and putting it in the working as is evident that you know the evolution of in the position now we're starting to take shape and form he's really hard to deal with the system is built around his game and where he could do and I think a lot of these young quarterbacks are so familiar with these reactions systems that the startup affected in the NFL and it's a great thing that she Lamar Planet it is it true did I see a quote that you think that he might be better than you Michael was that an accurate quote well I said that Three years ago when he was in college and he dismantled Florida state in front of the entire world and the only thing I do recollect back to the Times that I play but the attack in how you know Florida state just gave us problems and we we had him on ropes but it was a tough game women had to do more than enough to put in a position and so that when they gained the see them go out Dan just toying around with those guys you know I I think you know next generation so always be better and you know it was you know almost for certain for me to watch another guy come out to see him do it a little bit better and make it look like a little bit easier and I'm like you know this guy is you know he's better than me he's better than what I was and I said an intruder tremain and I meant it and I've met for her and to motivate them and I think he's he's taking added run with it so what do you see when he starts goals Michael do you see something that you went through in the first couple years when you came out of Virginia Tech What what are you see on those days when he's not light you know I I think he's had some struggles early I think one one of the struggles I think when they become a similarity to me when I look at it is that some games they go in and and the playbook might not might not open up you know it might not open up enough and you're playing against an opponent you see like uh you know a drew brees and you gotta you know if there's if there's not ball-control you gotta be scoring points and that doesn't happen so it Kinda puts you in a box in a buying where you know the playbook might not be as expensive that weekend wide open you know we're GonNa try to beat them you know within the box within the the Hashes you know what the run game in short passes and then all of a sudden need long passes so I had some games where became difficult early in my career to like my second third year before we went into a game with so many places that you know if anything was to happen and you know we got Steinberg then we can go to something that you know can open it the playbook and change them so yes early in my career I did I see that I've been in in a couple of games that Lamar's played in this year where he was just stuck in the Iraq's Michael Vick and the rich Eisen show which offense could you excel in the most right now in the nfl today that if you could come back as the Oh you know fresh out of Virginia Tech version of yourself on the field year which often she said that's the one that I could be the MVP and won a superbowl and I would say the offense that Lamar's running right now because this is not just its own re-based as part of their offense but I Greg Roman is probably one of the best that you know he he did a great job with Colin Kaepernick did a great job of tyrod Taylor in anytime he has quarterback they seem to do very well and I think he understands the run game really well and then passing off of the run game which includes the RPO which includes Moore's zone read I I think it just puts defense is in a bind and if you have the talent to to take advantage of that walk quarters then you're going to really stand out so I I think I will be an amazing quarterback well it's funny you mention that because a lot of people think the Ravens can't win the super bowl with this offense even though as you point out Roman was the OC for Colin Kaepernick and they were they were one red zone success away from winning it all it's almost the same format race don't want to give away too much of the game plan could because I mean listen you know we talk about the game and you give insight but that's what we opposed to but it's up to a different to stop what they're trying to do but man I think I think.
"jonathan taylor" Discussed on Rob Has a Podcast
"Can you explain why Jonathan Taylor? Thomas was a phenomenon. Yeah. With most phenomenon it's really hard to kind of put your finger on exactly why other than the fact that he was. So obviously actor I guess he still is actor. And he was on a very popular television show at the time called home improvement. And he was, I think his, his parents on the show as he was smart in funny. He had, you know, the, the good looks that the girls like, so it's the the longer hair with the park down the middle. You know, the thing that gets all the girls go on. And he just really think happened allies during that time period on some, some movie opportunities that were popular with his demographic as well. So I think that it was just kind of right place, right time, right? Choices for him. You know, it's weird rob and Jessica. The like there are a lot of like. Just like the thing I could compare it most to for people really totally missed JT era. I was gonna say as Bieber early Bieber where they were like sort of, you know, well before eighteen so the liking of them wasn't necessarily, like sexual or what, you know, they weren't like the, it was just like, oh, he's so cute. But, like people like them, but there aren't a lot of actors like that Riley, it's usually it's usually. A musician. So it's it was weird. I don't know if there's a modern day comparison to J D, like where people going, this crazy about Zach Ephron or any of the high school musical people or any of those people. I'm not sure I feel like Zac Efron would be good comparison..
