Trump tells Pennsylvania town hall participants that he 'up played' severity of coronavirus
"At this hour. The ABC. News. townhall underway president trump and George Stephanopoulos the president taking questions directly from uncommitted voters. No questions off limits and it comes amid pandemic as the US. Now, near two hundred, thousand American lives lost forty nine days until the election and our chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl from Philadelphia tonight. Tonight President Trump is taking questions from uncommitted and socially distant voters at our ABC News Town. Hall. Meeting in Philadelphia topic a the corona virus student a Johnny Powell asked him this question it. They will have it's the president's responsibility to protect. America, why would you downplay a pandemic? That is not disproportionately harm low income families minority communities. Well I didn't downplay it I actually in many ways I played in terms of action. My accent was very strong. Necklace what I did was a with China I put a ban on with Europe I, put a ban on and we would have lost thousands of more people had not put the ban on. So that was called action not with the mouth, but in actual fact. We did a very, very good job when we put that ban on whether you call the talent or luck, it was very important. So we saved a lot of lives when we did that there were holes in the ban in the European bandon come for another month while they were Americans the holes in where if you have somebody in China, that's an American citizen we had to let him in president is campaigning as if the pandemic is a thing of the past summoning large crowds of supporters packed shoulder to shoulder most not wearing masks in an interview in Nevada he said he wasn't personally worried about getting corona virus but didn't say anything about the threat to his supporters. Getting. Concerned. More, concerned about slow. I'm. Staged far away. Another Joe Biden is back on the campaign trail to very different way today holding a roundtable with veterans in high school. Gymnasium in Tampa Florida participants sitting at least six feet apart biden slammed the president for not being upfront with the American people about the virus false promises. Not, leveling without tough things are going to be. The American people never been able never failed to step up to what had to be done had to be done. But that's not happening. And Biden the president over the report in the Atlantic denied by the White House that he called war heroes, suckers, and losers nowhere ours false more glaring more offensive to me at least. When it comes to his Denigration of our service members, veterans wounded warriors falling. Florida may be the closest and most important battleground of all Michael Bloomberg is spending one hundred million dollars to help Joe Biden in Florida and Donald Trump knows this is a must win state. The trump campaign has spent more in Florida David than any other state.
Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders talks about new memoir and Woodward book
"Sanders is a former White House press secretary. Newly released book is entitled speaking for myself. Faith Freedom. And the fine of our lives Since of the Trump White House. You can fell around Twitter at Sarah. How could be good? Marty said. Good to talk to you. Good morning. Thank you for having me. Yeah. Sarah, tell me what's the one thing you want is to know based on the book about this president that either of supporters and detractors do not know. Well, I think the biggest takeaway there have been a lot of books written about the president and about the Trump Administration and after 2.5 year, spending nearly every single day of those 2.5 years with the president, I wanted people to see the president that I got to know the Donald Trump that gets up every day fighting for our country and that really loves America and wants to see it succeed and be at its very best. And I tried to write stories and moments that highlight that that show a different side of this president, sometimes a softer side, the compassionate and generous side that I had the privilege of seeing every day. There. We had Jonathan Karl on that that long ago here on the farm. I think they believe he had written a book as well. And he talked glowingly about the president out spine of the relationship inside that White House press room, but Is this common with the president and in some of his detractors I think they're certainly always been tension that exists between the press corps in the White House staff and the president specifically, But it has ratcheted up in this administration, the amount of negative attacks and the tension between the press and the White House is higher than it's ever been. But there are certainly I think plenty of good moment to and there are good reporters out there that are trying hard to get good information to the American people. Unfortunately, they're usually overshadowed by the loud Most people in the room her looking to be more of the story, then to report the story and that became too common in this White House and in this presidency. Speaking with Sarah Huckabee Sanders, former White House pressing, sir, of course in the recent released a brand new book entitled Speaking for myself, Faith, Freedom in the Fight for Our Lives Inside the Trump White House, Sarah the Woodward book. I think one big question that a lot of the present supporters have is this. Why did he give him such Accessibility. I think that after Woodward's first book about the president that was so negative, the president was hopeful that if he injected his own voice into the story, he could change the narrative. Unfortunately, Bob Woodward's been writing books about presidents for a long time, and very few have ever been positive. So I'm not sure that he was going to be able to change anything. He has. Woodward has a formula. He sticks to it, and he sells books and has done very well in doing that. I don't think I would have advised the president to spend that much time with him. But one of the things I find refreshing about this president if he isn't afraid to take questions from reporters, he does that almost every single day whether it's in the Oval Office, the briefing room or the South Lawn of the White House, he is accessible in a way that we have never seen a president be in modern history. There was. This has been a lot of criticism of Bob Woodward if he believed he had information and the president on tape. Of things that the president claim one thing in public and a love thing behind closed doors. And it would impact health and well being of the United States and its citizens. He had an obligation to report that did he not. Absolutely. He would have had a moral obligation to do that. That's why I don't think he felt that anyone was actually in danger as if he was more focused on selling books. Look, Let's not forget the president started talking about the Corona virus in January In his state of the Union address, he took early actions banning travel from China at the same time that Democrats like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi were attacking the president for taking that action. I think the president has really tried to do everything he could to keep the country calm, not collapse our economy completely while protecting lives and protecting livelihood. Having said that, did he lie? That's that's the sexism by his critics. But I don't think so. I think the president again he didn't want to create panic. I think we saw the similar rhetoric come from both from Joe Biden, he said. We don't want hysteria. We don't want people to panic. I don't think it is abnormal for the president of the United States for the leader of our country to want to keep our country calm and to keep people focused on defeating Disease and keep park economy from completely collapsing. I don't think that that is is wrong for the president to try Todo. The name of the book is speaking for myself. Faith freedom of the fight for our lives Inside the Trump. White House By Sarah Huckabee. Sanders. Sara. Thanks best look to the book to you as well, Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
Trump defends coronavirus response amid revelation he downplayed threat
"Did not want to drive the country into a frenzy. And so he purposely downplayed the severity of cove in 19 at the time, knowing how serious it actually wass ABC News chief, White House correspondent Jonathan Karl says. This comes in response to a new book from journalist Bob Woodward. It's all on tape President Trump bluntly acknowledging the Bob Woodward he fully understood the deadly threat posed by Corona virus and that he was misleading the American public about it. In his book Rage. Woodward writes that national security adviser Robert O'Brien Told President Trump on January 28th that Corona virus quote will be the biggest national security threat you face in your presidency 10. Days later, Woodward interviewed the president, and they spoke about the virus. Here is an excerpt from the audio tape obtained by CNN. Just breathe the air. That's how it's passed. And so that's a very tricky one. That's a very delicate one. It's also more deadly than your You know you're even your strenuous flues for more deadly. This is five per. You know, this is 5% versus one present in less than 1%. So this's deadly stuff. But just three weeks after that, the president told the American people. Krone virus is like the flu directly contradicting what he told Woodward. This is a flu. This is like a flu Within a couple of days, There's going to be down to close to zero. Uh, that's a pretty good job with you may ask about the Corona virus, which is, um, you know very well under control in our country. In another interview in March, the president candidly acknowledged the Woodward. He wasn't being up front with the American people. Now it's starting out. It's not just all people by produced today and yesterday Some startling facts came out. It's not just old older people to plenty of young people. It's clear just from what's in on the public record that you went through. A pivot on this to Oh, my God. The gravity is almost Inexplicable and unexplainable. Well, I think really be honest with you here. I want you. I wanted to, uh, I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down. Yes, because I don't want to create a panic and the very next week, the president said this America will again. And soon be open for business. Very soon a lot sooner than Three or four months of somebody was suggesting A lot sooner. We cannot let the cure being worse than the problem itself. The president was asked directly if he was misleading the public in order to prevent a panic, and he acknowledged again. He had been well, I think if you said in order to reduce panic, perhaps that so the fact is I'm a cheerleader for this country. I love our country. Campaigning in
Trump acknowledges he intentionally downplayed deadly Coronavirus
"President Trump is acknowledging that he downplayed the impact of the deadly Corona virus earlier this year, telling reporters on Wednesday cannot show A sense of panic or you're gonna have bigger problems than you ever had before ABC News chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl. It's all on tape President Trump bluntly acknowledging the Bob Woodward he fully understood the deadly threat posed by Corona virus and that he was misleading the American public about it. In his book Rage. Woodward writes that national security adviser Robert O'Brien told President Trump on January 28th. At Corona Virus quote will be the biggest national security threat you face in your presidency. So Biden's reaction memory said he wasn't by the intelligence community. How bad it wass. He didn't read. It just live. That's wrong. It's totally
President Trump doesn't dispute downplaying COVID in order to reduce 'panic'
"There are a few games for every president. One of those games is that at some point, Bob Woodward will write a book about you. While you're in office, the Democratic National Committee is trying to solve this prime minister. Began before dawn Saturday when five intruders were captured by police inside the offices of the committee in Washington. By Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein broke the Watergate story since then Woodward has done his thing where he talks to literally everybody can at the White House and writes up the narrative that emerges to do that he often talks to sources on deep background that means names aren't used not even their direct quotes. The reason I bring this up is don't talk to him. Someone else will and the best way to get your version of the story out there is to give him a call. I. That is how he managed to get interviews over the. Last several months we begin tonight with those bombshell recordings. We yesterday we finally learned what is in Bob Woodward's latest book about President Trump. There were lots of revelations in the Washington Post report, but the biggest was the claim that the president intentionally misled Americans about how bad the novel Corona virus was at a critical moment and this admission do not come from a bunch of unnamed sources it came from President trump himself. Let's ABC's chief White House correspondent Jonathan, Karl John We've now learned the president did a ton of on record interviews with Bob Woodward. What did he tell him? Well, he did eighteen interviews with Woodward Woodward tape them, and now we we hear the audio here the President's voice in this headline on the virus, which is you see the president's progression slee we only have five people hopefully everything's GonNa be great. They have somewhat of a problem, but hopefully, it's all going to be great but we're working. With China just so you know and other countries very very closely. So it doesn't get out of hand February seventh interview. So this is really we're starting to grasp the the severity of the pandemic overseas, not necessarily here in the United States yet the president tells Woodward quite candidly that this is really bad. It goes through Air Bob that's always tougher than the touch. You don't have to touch things right. But the air, you just breathe the air that's how it's passed. This is more deadly than the flu more deadly than even the most strenuous flus. So. The president is acknowledging on February seventh to Bob Woodward that this is a really dangerous threat. And in and by the way. The virus fast forward that working hard looks like by April and theory when it gets a little warmer. Miraculously goes away. That's true. We know what the president was saying publicly was largely downplaying the threat. This is a flu. This is like a flu within a couple of days is going to be down close to zero. Now it's turning out not just all people. Today and yesterday. Some startling facts came out. It's not just old all. Were asked him about that in a in a subsequent interview in the middle of March, and the president quite candidly says that he likes to. Downplay the threat basically because he doesn't want to get people to work up, I, wanted to. Play it down I like laying it down. Because I don't want to create panic. And you were sitting in the White House briefing room waiting for the press secretary as this was all dropping yesterday, right like Woodward's audio recordings playing on CNN's. What was the response from the White House? Well, this is an extraordinary story of Woodward and scientist Woodward's reportings. We often get in his books. There's actual tapes of the President's Voice essentially acknowledging that he had been misleading the American public I mean. This is this is there other details of the book that were also you know embarrassing so clearly, a little bit of damage control in real time is going on in the white? House the. Breathing was pushed back by fifteen minutes than another fifteen minutes than another fifteen minutes and eventually Kelly Mac, in any of the press secretary comes out. So this president does what leaders do good leaders it stay calm and resolute at a time when you faced an insurmountable challenge, that's what this president is not that the president lied to the American College about the threat posed by the president has never lied to the American public on Cova actually say. That the president. Did Not downplay the coronavirus threat never downplayed the virus. Once again, the president expressed calm. The president was serious about this when Democrats were pursuing their sham and. Hear the president's. Own Voice telling Bob Woodward. Always play it down I still like playing down likes to play it down because he doesn't want to create a panic and then after macanese briefing, the president came out made an announcement on related about his potential judicial nominees. And he was asked about this and said you know so did you mislead the public well I think if you said in order to reduce panic perhaps that sell fact is a cheerleader for this country I love our country and I don't want people to be frightened I don't want to create panic as you say, and certainly I'm not going to drive. This country or the world into a frenzy, and he acknowledges right there right there what he said on the tape to Woodward yes. He he does downplaying worried about creating panic. Well. So what is the justification of that though John Jonkers? I didn't WANNA start a panic but on the other hand, if somebody hears, you say this is no worse than a flu and they act like that and then they get the coronavirus and have horrible health from vacations I mean, what do you say to that the White House? It's a tough one because this is a president the. Leadership and not creating a panic isn't about like lying to
Biden says Trump downplaying coronavirus threat was 'almost criminal'
"We begin tonight with those bombshell recordings president trump giving journalist Bob Woodward, eighteen interviews, and during those interviews, the president admits to downplaying the coronavirus in the US early on telling. Woodward. He knew the virus was deadlier than the flu saying privately, it goes through the air. That's. How it's passed, the president telling Woodward an early February that the virus would be deadlier than the flu but weeks later, his words in public telling the American people that the virus was like the flu it was in March the president talks about the toll with Woodward, not just on older Americans but revealing its quote young people to plenty of young people. During interviews president trump admits to intentionally misleading the American public because he didn't want to cause a panic. Tonight how the president is now explaining those comments how different they were in public versus private at his opponent Joe Biden's response to ABC's chief White. House. Correspondent Jonathan Karl leading US off. It's all on tape president trump bluntly acknowledging the Bob Woodward he fully understood the deadly threat posed by corona virus and that he was misleading the American public about it in his book rage Woodward writes that National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien. Told President Trump on January twenty eighth that Corona virus quote will be the biggest national security threat facing your presidency ten days. Later, Woodward interviewed the president and they spoke about the virus. Here's an excerpt from the audiotape obtained by CNN breathe the air that's how it's. passed. And so that's a very tricky one. That's a very delicate one It's also more deadly than your. You Know Your even your strenuous lose for more deadly. This is five per you know this is five percent versus one percent less than one percent you know. So this is deadly stuff but just three weeks after that the president told the American people krona virus is like the flu directly contradicting what he told Woodward. This is a flu. This is like a flu within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero. That's a pretty good job we've done. You may ask about the coronavirus which is. Very well under control in our country in another interview in March, the president candidly acknowledged to Woodward he wasn't being upfront with the American people. Starting out, it's not just old people, which is today and yesterday. Some startling facts came out. It's not just old old exactly able to plenty of young people. It's clear just from what's in the public record that you went through a pivot this to Oh my God the gravity is almost inexplicable unexplainable I think bob? Really. To be honest with year I want you I wanted to I wanted to always play it down I still like playing down. Yes. Because I don't want to create a panic and the very next week the president said this America will again. And soon be open for business. very soon a lot sooner than. Three or four months at somebody was suggesting. Lot sooner we cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself. The president today was asked directly. If he was misleading the public in order to prevent a panic and he acknowledged again, he had been well I. Think if you said in order to reduce panicked perhaps it. So the fact is a cheerleader for this country I love country campaigning in Michigan today Joe Biden who has made the president's handling of krona virus a centerpiece of his campaign called the president's comments to Woodward, a disgrace he knew and purposely played it down worse. He lied to the American people he knowingly and willingly lied about the threat posed to the country for months he knew how dangerous it was. All this deadly disease ripped through our nation he failed to do his job on purpose. Was a life and death betrayal of the American people. And to let's bring in Giancarl, with us, tonight in the white. House was pressed on this today really in a question that many folks at home are likely asking tonight why? Why would the president offer Woodward such a detailed account of the dangers of the coronavirus yet deliver a different message to the American people didn't he know that talking with journalists that this would ultimately reported? Well David. It's extraordinary. The president did eighteen separate interviews with Bob Woodward over the course of several months as he was working on this book his National Security Adviser just a short while ago said this was the president's decision to do those interviews and that he was quote willing to go into the lions ring with Bob Woodward but I can tell you I think another factor here is that when Woodward wrote his last book. The president was upset that his staff turndown Woodward's request to get an interview with him He believes that he can talk himself out of anything and if you could talk enough to Bob Woodward's, he would have a positive portrayal in his book

Trump says coronavirus briefings will return and calls wearing a mask "patriotic"
"This evening president trump and the coronavirus. After months of criticism, he tweeted this photo of himself, wearing a mask today, and what he said with that image and the president also revealing, he's now bringing back those daily coronavirus task force briefings amid poll showing, Joe Biden with a significant lead in Americans questioning the president's handling of the pandemic. "Back offering. Jonathan Karl was the accidental attendees of a campaign rally, Rose Garden the other day, and this is a man who's already seen plenty. Then he shares in his book front row at the unit. Who so actually says it's actual name, but you know I never don't. And he's right now the ABC News Chief White House correspondent. Jonathan Karl you. Title is so so hefty always want to get it right, but always mess it up Let's jump into some stuff. Right now, let's do some hot topics. Let's start by asking you about the recent press conference earlier this week that turned into a Rose Garden Con- campaign rally. Have you ever ever seen anything like this before? Are we just forgetting stuff? Well every time I I think I've seen it all and trust me. That's happened a lot of particularly during this this White House in this white. House something happens. This was this was unbelievable. There's an expression in politics be the idea of an incumbent president running for reelection, having a Rose Garden strategy, and what that means is the president instead of getting into the Messi -ness of the campaign does official pronouncements official business from the Rose Garden. Well this he brought the message of the campaign. Right into the Rose Garden. We were told we were going in for a press conference on announcement, related to China, and he went on for about an hour in basically version of his campaign rally speech. It was all over the map. I really have never seen first of all such blatant politics conducted out of the Rose Garden, but also such an all over the map speech. Well John President trump can't seem to get out of his own way, and I think Republicans are feeling it and getting a little nervous when he's supposed to be talking about China. which is what we were told he was talking about in the Rose Garden. He used the time to attack Joe in. Why do you think he doesn't have a cohesive message? And how frustrated are his aides by this? It's really interesting to me. Because he has a lot of arrows, he could be using, and they just seem to not be using them from for whatever reason. It's really baffling. I mean he always goes from the God. I mean this is a big theme of my book. He had an expression. You did an interview with Barbara Walters back in the eighties when he when I flirted with running for president, he was just like forty one years old, and Barbara's trying to get him to explain his strategy in his his goals, and what you want it accomplish, and he said No. It's like the prize fighters. When you go into the ring, you go with the punches. There's never much that is strategic with how he goes. He believes he can go by his gut. Yes, it frustrates his aides. They are certainly no longer surprised, and they're used to it. The people that are really frustrated as you mentioned, are Republicans Republicans in Congress. Who worried that things are getting so bad. That, he is so undisciplined on this that Republicans will suffer severe losses in the House further losses in the House and will lose control the Senate now have Senate races that look newly competitive just in places like Maine and Colorado but places like Georgia and maybe even Alabama Arizona North Carolina Republicans are really worried and very frustrated that the president is driving them off a cliff. John during his Rose Garden speech, president trump attacked vice president biden by saying that Biden wants to abolish the suburbs, and he also wanted to get rid of windows according to a recent Quinnipiac poll. The vice president is up by fifteen points. Is the campaign having a hard time making the case against him? They sure are, and that's not just an isolated Paul. I mean we've seen over the last couple of weeks. Polls showed him that pulled out fifteen another pole down fourteen or another pole down twelve. Nobody really shows him down any less than. Ten points does not look good that those are national polls. It doesn't look good in the key states and I think that they're having a very hard time. The president having a hard time trying to come up with an attack on Biden that will stick in the Rose Garden. He started saying. Where's hunter remember that that that phrase that he was using a while back, where's hunter and the campaign started tweeting out messages relating to that most Americans watch that and they say who's hunter. What what does that mean it doesn't. It doesn't hit anything. I was very revealing when he had his rally in Tulsa. The last rally. To see the kind of merchandise. Being sold outside. That's a key indicator with trump of where where the? Shirts they're wearing. What kind of signs of what kind of paraphernalia they have There was a lot of stuff attack Hillary Clinton still there were stuff attacking Barack. Obama there wasn't much that they had attacking Joe Biden. The the nickname. He's given him a sleepy Joe. It hasn't really caught on. Right and Won't also at one catch on his starting to sound like Humphrey Bogart in the caine mutiny, they. Where did they put the strawberries? The strawberries remember that movie Jonathan. Do it was a while ago. Yes, so let's talk about the corona virus because cases is surging across the country, and we are still hearing almost well. We are hearing silence from trump. He doesn't WANNA deal with except for his assistance that he's doing a fantastic job and it will be over very quickly. So are they still in some kind of magical thinking about over there and we'll anything make this administration face reality and wake up and try to help the situation or not well. It's extraordinary to watch his schedule as an indicator, the kind of events that he is doing so just in the last few days. We've seen him do events on sanctions against Venezuela on. On gang violence on infrastructure. He's got something today on regulations. He seems to be doing events on just about everything except for corona virus, and when he mentioned the pandemic, as he does sometimes at these events, because they're never really about one topic, it's almost always to talk about what a wonderful job the administration has done. To talk about how you've heard him. Say over and over again. We have all these stray job in testing. That's why we have cases because we're testing. People. So I don't sense a strategy coming out of the White House the coronavirus task force headed by the vice president is still meeting regularly. They do have those conference. Call with governors but you don't get a sense that there is a national strategy here besides. Urging the localities urging the governor's to reopen? Yeah. It's crazy so Jonathan. Hang on, we're going to go on..

"On. Welcome back Dr Anthony Fat. She has become the expert. Most Americans count on for correct and clear information. And you know who has his own trade advisor Peter Navarro who wants a second opinion his own. Take a look. Why should we listen to you and Dr Doctors? Disagree about things all the time my qualifications in terms of looking at the science is a Social Science. He's a PhD. And I understand how to read statistical studies whether it's in Medicine Law Economics wherever well DR FAO Jazzy. As we know is working with a team of experts and doesn't like giving any conclusions without giving wheel thought to the data. Isn't he the guy we should be listening to? What do you think sunny well? There's no question that we should be listening to Dr Foulsham. He seems to be the voice of reason in this Pandemic and he certainly also is an infectious disease expert and doctor. But I will say this. I mean it's come to light that that Peter Navarro. I issued to memo's wrote to memos and those members were prophetic in the sense that he wrote them disseminated them within the White House and warned of this pandemic and warned that there would be hundreds of thousands of lives lost if something wasn't done and and nothing was done and so in that sense. I just wonder where the fault lies when you're putting conspiracy case together when you're putting any sort of criminal case together you want to know who knew what when it seems that. The government is the trump administration received. Its first formal notification of the outbreak on January third on January third and Peter. Navarro raise these flags very very early on January and then again in February who knew what when and why did it take this administration seventy days seven days to really raise the alarm with the American people. Again I've said it over and over and over again this administration cost American lives lives and they should be held to account so joy stock. And right now you know. This is really hilarious. That this poly Cy. Major with political science is telling the doctor what to do. I was married to a social scientists. My first husband was a sociology professor. I wouldn't even ask him to put a band-aid on. Leave it to the doctors and stop going on television and by the way this drug that they're pushing. I heard Dr Sanjay Gupta said that it suppresses your immune system so don't you need a strong immune system to fight the corona virus so they're putting out all sorts of crazy information. I even spoke to my accountant. Who's in Florida hold up? And she's like. Hey that drug that drug. We don't know if that drugs going to work listen to the scientists or let's call Suzie Ormond. Maybe she knows what to do about this drug. This is ridiculous so Joe Biden. Had A wind up having a phone call with you know who yesterday about how to handle this and they both said it went well but is he really going to listen to. Gel Megan. I don't know why he would be listening to his opponent but I was happy to hear that they had a cordial conversation. I think that's good for democracy and good for the morale of the country right now. I think pivoting off of what sunny in joy were saying. You know. I don't know if this White House and our government large really could have bungled this war. It has been a complete existential awakening for me. And I don't care how naive the American public thinks I am. I have believed in America in our institutions. From the moment I was born on and I will say when you see senators on both sides of the Democrats and Republicans Being investigated for selling stock. Because they were obviously alerted new information about the severity of this virus and wanted to move their stock around to make money in my opinion which looks quite light war profiteering. We're living in a different time. We're living in a different time where there is a wrought infesting our government and our institutions and our leaders that is much graver and more extreme than I ever could have possibly imagined. And there's a reason why the American public has a healthy level of distrust from everyone in the administration on down in. I think going forward. Yes of course we should listen to Dr But I do think when I am told. A masked doesn't do anything it's go out. It's fine don't worry about the mass and then a few weeks later on told that if I want to leave my home I have to be wearing a mask. Obviously I think there is a high likelihood that I could still be being lied to by the government and I think that's why we're in the place that we're in in so many people don't know where to look and when you're confused you get tribal and I think a lot of conservatives in a lot of Democrats you're going to their corners and I think it's a very very dangerous situation we've entered ourselves in now and I do blame the top. I think much like the rest of the women on the show while I think one we all girl give you. Our two is the is the fact that nobody knows anything about this virus. That's the first thing and these economic guy gave information. He gave it in late January. He's written two books on China and so he wanted to stop Chinese people at the border and my question was well. How do you know that someone from another country didn't bring it in the a lot of this just makes very little sense but I'm going to stick with the one guy that I don't have any issues with because I know he knows what he's doing and that's vouching for me? I I'm hearing from my control room that CNN just did a report a couple of minutes ago. They're saying now that the White House has fully restored. Jim Acosta's press pass his hard pass. So John Roberts Jonathan Karl to network is we have to tweets here. So John Roberts over at FOX who used to be at CBS news. John Roberts tweeted out scoop. At White House to not seek revocation of Kosta hard pass sources, and then we have Jonathan Karl Jonathan Karl tweeted out, and he's the chief ABC White House. Correspondent a senior White House official tells me the White House is dropping its effort to Banja Mukasa for his behavior at the November seventh press conference, and yeah, I mean, he was a total delta Bravo, man. He was a total DB D bag DB. There's no doubt about it. Still. I didn't support the yanking of the past. And the White House is backtracking in just a second. And in fact, you know, what do you think the CEO and friend of President Trump the CEO of Newsmax Newsmax television, Chris Ronnie was actually on CNN over the weekend. And was asked I have that audio. I want to get to that. We'll we'll get to that. After the bottom of the hour break kosai, I was gonna. Was going to get to the letter. I, but I I want to get to the breaking item here that the past is going to remain. Okay. Jonathan Karl continues. The office says, however, the White House reserves the right to revoke a Costa's press access if he violates White House decorum in the future. So multiple confirmations now. And again CNN is also they reported just a short time ago that the past for Kosta has been fully restored. How much time do I have to have time to start the letter. Yeah. Let me start a little bit of the letter here. Because this is the letter that Jim Acosta apparently got this morning. And this was an indication that a new ban was coming after the federal judge Timothy Kelly had issued the temporary restraining order clearing the way for custody to get the hard pass back for at least a couple of weeks. So here's the latest. We are writing to give you this came from Sarah Sanders and Bill shine Bill shine is the White House communications chief, and they won't give you a little taste here. He's got closed the half hour. We'll be back in just a few minutes. Obviously after the bottom of the hour break, but they started out. We're writing to give you formal written notice that we have made a preliminary decision to suspend your hard pass through your conduct at the president's November. Seventh two thousand eighteen press conference. The president is aware of this preliminary decision and concurs the factual basis for this. Preliminary decision to suspend your pass is as follows. But again, they they send this may change their mind. Hang on back in a moment..
