Fauci Says U.S. Should Consider Vaccine Mandate for Domestic Air Travel

"In the Paris yesterday on ABC's this week, co anchor Jonathan Karl asked doctor Anthony Fauci, if he agreed with President Biden, who said in a recent interview that his team said vaccine man today, mandates for domestic air travel isn't necessary at this time and cut number three Fauci said anything that could get people vaccinated would be welcome. There shouldn't be a vaccine requirement for domestic air travel. Well, it depends on what you want to use it for. I mean, vaccine requirements for people coming in from other countries is to prevent newly infected people from getting into the country. A vaccine requirement for person getting on the plane is just another level of getting people to have a mechanism that would spur them to get vaccinated. Namely, you can't get on a plane unless you're vaccinated, which is just another one of the ways of getting requirements, whatever that might be. So I mean, anything that could get people more vaccinated would be welcome. Now, Fauci continued to reiterate that wearing masks on airplanes is still a good idea despite the fact that CEOs recently said that they're not necessary due to the sufficient air filtration systems inside the aircraft cabin.

Trump to attend GOP's spring donor retreat

"Trump is scheduled to speak at the cpac conference on sunday while americans go about living their lives. Political reports trump is expected to attend the rnc upcoming spring donor. Retreat in april quote. The rnc's donor. Retreats are a prime stop for future presidential candidates who use the events to establish relationships with wait for it. Major contributors Back with us tonight. Abc veteran washington journalists and associate editor and columnist over a real clear politics and matthew. Dowd he is the founder of country over party. We should point out. He is a texan. Who has a new appreciation for a hot shower. Since the cold dark outage of late and in the past matthew was chief strategist for the bush. Cheney presidential effort Back in oh four Welcome to you both. Ab you right with your usual candor and clarity quote just six weeks. After a deadly insurrection against the us government republicans are past their horror and hopping eagerly back on the trump train. The new twenty twenty one ticket price. They must buy into his big lie. That brings us to the question a. b. if trump is the banner under which they all must run under which they all must try to raise money he lost. How can that be a winning strategy. Whatever he says goes so you saw that. Nothing made it more clear than the house. Gop whip steve scalise going on tv. The sunday after his visit mar-a-lago where apparently they just talked about their families and how chill and relaxed. The president has been in his post presidency period at his resort and he just could not bring himself to say that this was a free and fair election. He said yes. Legitimately biden one when he was pressed by jonathan karl of abc news because elector said that on december fourteenth basically. He said a lot of sing. Swing states just didn't follow their own state laws and a lot of people are very concerned so what you do is instead of spreading the big lie. You never defy trump. You never disavow it and you never spell it you sit and you never discuss. How pernicious and dangerous. It is liz cheney and adam her and others have you just sort of try to circle around it because quote your constituents buy into it. And that's what's gonna keep you in trump's orbit if you want to keep your job in twenty twenty two. Matt voters have a funny way of kind of market testing ideas on their own and figuring out what. And what's gonna fly. How is this gonna fly especially in republican tightly contested suburban races two years from now. Well i think it does well in republican primaries. So i think that's the issue and that's the real problem for the republicans right now. They know that. Donald trump tests eighty eighty five percent popularity among the voters at will participate in republican primaries even in republican primaries in purple states or in suburban districts. That are swing districts. The problem is every time they venture into capturing that republican primary voth it more and more offense the people in the general election so it gets okay in a red state or deep red district to do that but when you start to try to win in suburban areas around houston suburban areas around dallas suburban areas in michigan suburban areas in california. It becomes exceedingly problematic. An i think that's the problem there in though it doesn't seem like they're in any way trying to confront that general election problem that they just keep pushing that often it's somehow they think is going to solve itself. It's almost as if they're going through this primary. They did in two thousand fifteen in twenty sixteen where they thought that donald trump problem would salve itself or he would peter out or nobody would deal within or somebody else would handle it and they didn't have to and then what they ended up having donald trump the republican nominee and then donald trump the republican president and now donald trump the republican president. So i do think it's his party. I don't think there's any question anymore that it's donald. The drill pay party is now the trump party and everything that donald trump does from town to what he cares about to. The conspiracy pushes is the republican party.

Nikki Haley criticizes Trump and says he has no future in the GOP

"So called trumpism, the partisan divide in Washington and across the nation driving the expected outcome of this impeachment trial. Now 2020 contenders are making their voices heard. ABC is Jonathan Karl tells us what a GOP heavy hitter just said. Nikki Haley is not only a former top official in the Trump administration, somebody who has been very close to Donald Trump rarely criticized him, is considered a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination, she said in an interview, just published. In politico, she said. Trump let us down. He went down a path we shouldn't have, and we shouldn't have followed him. That's a decisive break Donald Trump from somebody who was considered quite close to Donald Trump. That is significant, but it doesn't mean he will be in peach or convicted. You don't think that should have pointed Hillary Clinton had paid for the dossier? Congressman no, it it is a violation of department of Justice procedures. The dossier. Maria. Let's take a big step back here. What is the one thing that the FBI did prior to the election? Jim Komi of the FBI while there were investigations of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump announced to the American people twice not once but twice the investigation of Hillary Clinton, this idea that prior to the election, Jim Komi or the FBI or the department of Justice was working against Donald Trump is exactly upside down. So everyone sort of thinking, well, maybe maybe not. But the truth is there's nothing and there hasn't been anything or a year and a half congressman. Okay. Let me try one more time the president son invited Russians to Trump Tower and ask them for help the president as Russia. I believe the story answers that they contacted Donald Trump junior. Time. Now, there are a lot of tax firms out there tax relief firms. How do you know which one to trust? Let's say you received a letter in the mail from the IRS or you've gotten a Bank Levy notice or a threat of wage-garnishment people the IRS can't just threaten you. If they're telling you, they're going to do something they are going to do it..

"Two point one FM. This is the Ben Ferguson show, find six hundred and six hundred dot com. Some interesting news coming out of the investigation of Donald Trump, Russia collusion, all of that. And it looks like there has to be some backpedaling by some in the media realizing that there may be nothing. At all. On the issue of collusion. ABC's Jonathan Karl says zero evidence that Trump or campaign colluded with the Russians, and he said this today on a show that is on his network, and we're gonna we're gonna play part of this for you. Let me know when you have that ready because Jonathan Karl went on the view today. And he went on the view he is ABC news as chief Washington correspondent. And he said something that a lot of people I think were shocked by and I don't think he said it because he's an idiot. I think and I look I've I've known giancarl been around him now for years in the TV world Johnson's a guy that. He is extremely well. Connected. Us specially on the anti Trump side. If he is hedging his bets this way because this is the he's representing this isn't just a theory. This is him saying this from a standpoint of ABC news, and they're reporting, and this is being said on ABC news. It's being set on on ABC news. To a group of individuals the view that have a large reach of millions of millions of people. Listen to what he had to say earlier today on the view that shocked many, I did not shock me. At all. I want him. I've never thought that collusion was there was of this. So glad we have here for this. So that the missing link for me is how do you go from hearing people on TV saying we've been an agent the whole time to literally the FBI then launching an investigation into a sitting president looking into whether or not he's an agent for the Russians how much evidence do you need for that? And then where does Muller finance all of this? Well, this is again, this is the FBI director the acting FBI director, the time, Andrew McCabe, and I think what it shows and we've seen through some of the text messages of some of the others involved in this decision, including Peter Strachan, Lisa page, these were people that detested Donald Trump. And now they're running the FBI and they're able to open. In this counterintelligence investigation. And they, you know, they believe that they had solid reason. President away. Well, I think that there I think there are reasons to be skeptical. But I think the biggest one is what happened afterwards. And there is no indication that Robert Mueller picked up any of this. And here's an a very important point where we are. Now, just I believe weeks away from getting a final report from Robert Mueller, and there's so much anticipation so much speculation about what he's going to show. He's been looking into this whole range of issues, and I am led to believe by people who have interacted with the special counsel, the we should be prepared for him to release a report there's anti climatic on the he's already look he's already done a lot. He's already gotten more than thirty indictments the president's inner circle. His campaign chairman convicted his national security adviser indicted, his personal lawyer. So much is already been there. But on the central question of did Donald Trump or anybody in his campaign coordinator collude with the Russians in their effort to meddle in the twenty sixteen campaign? We have seen zero evidence of that know, we'll we'll we look Manafort has has been indicted because of his personal corruption what he has done. And we know there was this revelation that he gave polling data. There's no indication that Manafort either knew of or helped the Russians in their efforts to hack into the DNC emails, John Podesta's emails, or that that massive internet campaign to undermine puppets to the public discourse. You're saying there's no indication but Muller has kept this investigation. You know? You listen to that. And you heard there one of the host. I think it was job ehar about Manafort, and he said, you know, that was his own personal corruption. Which is exactly what I've been saying since day one. These they put the squeeze on people around Trump to hurt Trump, and they put the squeeze on people for their own personal dealings their own personal corruption issues, if you just heard Jonathan Karl of ABC news at MIT right there..

"ABC chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl is no fan of Donald Trump. If he were to skew his news, it would be in favor of saying Trump had done something wrong. So when he was on this week with George Stephanopoulos discussing the report in the New York Times in Washington Post that said the FBI opened up a counterintelligence investigation into President Trump in the days after he fired Jim Komi. He said the story in the New York Times was an extraordinary reflection of the level of distrust between the FBI leadership and the president and how suspicious the president's behavior was that. They actually were at at the to the point of investigating. He added what I'm getting is that this is all building up to the Mueller report and raising expectations of a bombshell report. The expectation is of a bombshell report. But what I am getting is the this is all building up to the Molitor report and raising expectations of a bombshell report. And there've been expectations have been building, of course for over a year on this. But people who are closest to what has been doing of interacted with a special counsel caution me this report is almost certain to be anti climatic that if you look at what the FBI was investigating in that New York Times report look at what they were investigating Muller did not go anywhere with that investigation. He's been writing his report in real time through these indictments, and we have seen nothing from Muller on the central question of was there any coordination collusion with the Russians in the effort to meddle in the elections. Or was there even any knowledge on the part of the president or anybody in his campaign with what the Russians were? Two things about what he just said. Number one. Climate refers to long term, weather, trends climatic is an adjective, referring to long-term weather, trends, climax is the high point a crescendo a peak, and when you refer to something being climactic or more often anti-climactic there's a see in. They're not anti climatic. What I am getting is that this is all building up to the Muller report and raising expectations of a bombshell report and there've been expectations that have been building, of course for over a year on this. But people who are closest to what Moller has been doing of interacted with a special counsel caution me this report is almost certain to be anti climatic that if you. Oh. How do you get that point us to that point? You use words like that. We'll continue on that discussion. But first gusts tell me about the sermon at your church on Sunday. Mike home. Hi..

"Thanks for listening. Here's Jonathan Karl. ABC superstar on this week yesterday with George Stephanopoulos, dropping a bombshell about bombshells cut number one and actually going to the point of investigating whether or not affectively the president was a Russian agent. But what I am getting is that this is all building up to the Muller report and raising expectations of a bombshell report. And they've been expectations have been building, of course for over a year on this. But people who are closest to what Moller has been doing over interacted with a special counsel caution me this report is almost certain to be anti climatic that if you look at what the FBI was investigating in that New York Times report and look at what they. Were investigating Muller did not go anywhere with that investigation. Here's been writing his report in real time through these indictments, and we have seen nothing from Mahler on the central question of was there any coordination collusion with the Russians in the effort to meddle in the elections. Or was there even any knowledge on the part of the president or anybody in his campaign with what the Russians were? There is not going to be a bombshell. The president is not a Russian mole. And the New York Times story on Friday is best understood as an attempt by the FBI to get ahead of an inspector general's report or to get ahead of a department of Justice indictment. FBI officials for. Misleading abusing authority abusing their power. It is something. I'll talk about with Andrew McCarthy the FBI not to have done what it did. And in fact, at Henry was on Fox News with Steve Hilton yesterday talking about this it is it is truly shocking. What the bureau did not the bureau a handful of people at the top of the bureau. I've got people who argue with me, very senior people who are, you know, the culture, it's combs, and he owns it all through the organization, but it is not anything I've ever seen in the bureau before this dossier like impulse to to become Javert and prosecute prosecutor judge and jury which is what happened in the FBI vis-a-vis Trump cut number two at Henry on Fox News with Steve Elton things over the more like salivating dogs for me every time and anytime there's some development in the Muller case in the Russia case writ large, we got him. Now, we got him. And you could see the saliva coming out of the lips literally in some cases. And at the end of all this after two years, what evidence do we have that? There's collusion. Whatever it is do they have that the president acted improperly? At all. If Muller has something we need to see the report will probably see it. We here in February or March fine. But the real story behind it is what you alluded to which is a New York Times had this big leak. Why was it leaked because people were unfriendly to the president know that these transcripts of what some of these former top FBI officials told House Republicans lately last year, we're about to come out, and that they admitted that they were basically bias within the FBI to go after Donald Trump. So they wrap up this story that suggests they were suspicious that maybe it was a Russian agent. Why? Well, because as you say, it was nice to Putin. And all these other things where I would gently push back on. You would be I wouldn't call the FBI idiots. I think there are people in the upper echelons who made real mistakes. You're absolutely right. And they were clearly out to get this president. But I think there are also a lot of hardworking men and women you agree in the FBI. And unfortunately, they've been tainted by James, call me and others who really screwed up. I can't stress enough that Henry. Just gave you the best picture immediately. What people wrote to me on Friday. The New York Times runs a story that the FBI after the Komi firing opened an investigation into whether the president of the United States, duly elected by the people of the United States via Representative democracy electoral college. He did not win the popular vote. I know that doesn't matter. He won the according to the rules of the game, duly elected the FBI on its own not even the confirmed director, but the acting director Andrew McCabe and his deeply biased buddies, Peter stroke and Lisa page open an investigation into whether or not the president of the United States was a mall and algebra has kind of spy. Aldrich Ames spy and a bay should not have done that. It is astonishing astounding deeply disturbing. It will require hearings by Lindsey Graham at the judiciary committee. The Democrats don't want to throw any light on this that there. It's not a deep state. It's a half dozen people. But it is so trouble. So a state within a state that they could actually wheel that kind of power that bay leak dead in order to get ahead of the story, which is going to come out they abuse their power. They're trying to drain. The venom of it. And what Mike Pompeo said to Margaret Brennan deserves to be replayed again yesterday on face the nation cut number eleven. I'm to come on New York Times stories about I'll certainly say, this the notion that President Trump is a threat to American national security is absolutely ludicrous. Just to clarify since she were CIA director. Did you have any idea that this investigation was happening? Margaret, Margaret, Margaret, I've answered this question repeatedly indeed on your show. The idea that's contained in the New York Times story that President Trump was a threat to American national security is is silly on its face and not worthy of a response. Ludicrous ludicrous ludicrous what we have going on. Here is a battle between the Obama era week love, Iran, gang. We can get along with Iran. We can turn the world on its axis and the people who actually understand the mullahs.

"As the government shutdown drags on into its eighteen th day. Each side is walking around saying we've got the advantage. And we made that very clear to the president on Capitol Hill House Democrats announce they passed bills to restore funding for most of the government Senate Democrats took it a step further yesterday saying we're going to block every other Bill in the Senate until we get a vote on these ones a senior democratic aide said that Republicans should instead lead with funding bills passed by the newly democratic controlled house.
