"Here and i right right. I love it as a great decision as keto froze because of the lack of mayor pool. That jetta your back. We expect around mayor has yeah right so it's a celebration. It's a strobe light. Internet keeps cutting right. So i think it's it's a beautiful decision this carol because he because you're right right we as most of us work from at some point in other we work from home and i think the assumption is that when you work from home that you're not actually at work so that time can be sort of taken for granted like you're if you're here all the time it's so convenient but they don't realize like you're working from like personally i've been busting my ass more since being at home so low just i've been doing more work every day when i was leaving the house repeatedly sort of training people in person and i think you get caught up in the work a lot and i to have hired someone to come in every couple of weeks because it's a time for money right. I'd rather exchange that money for the time that i could use to do other more important things and probably make three times as much the money that i'm spending to get that time back zest to where where your head was at absolately and it's been working out really great. I feel way better about the position. That's how you know it's the right decision Good so that's kinda like god on our campus right right right. This is the exact same waited. I'll take out cake. The grocery store just feels good. It feels right. I know i got so. We've got a topic today. And i don't wanna scare you guys by talking about the topic too early. In the course of a podcast. Because i know we're not we're not forty five minutes in yet however i think it's appropriate. It's okay the holidays we can deviate we can bring up the actual topic year before we blown forty five minutes of your time with reckless banter. And this was your topic then. Well i don. I don't want to say that. 'cause i don't know how to show is going gonna go like at the out chosen to live or die decision. Don't don't do that jonathan. That's not in front of company. This is we all know. Love alex coate. Who's the head coach of the train academy basically my right hand for that. You enraged coaching team. As well and i remember we were hiring for new coaches at once. Because we're going to hind former coaches the online trading academy at once and this is the first that he was like onboarding them by himself and he called me one night. We're just talking casino. We talk on the phone subtypes. Whatever your personal stuff but whatever far you like girl stuff like girl style how you doing how you doing. Yeah you gotta you got your birth anyway so he calls me. And he's like dude like i don't know what to do in this situation like what should i do like i'm kind of freaking out and i was like i don't know what to do in that situation either. But the buck stops with you on this one nine zero. I feel all day every day when you don't know what to do and everybody else is going to you and saying we need to know what to do. And you know that ultimately it's up to you to figure out what to do menace you just you just quoted a migraine commercial when you don't know what to do and everything's up to you and it's up to you to decide what to do take extra strength. Migraine monitor tall. That's a great commercial. Talk spin bars here today. Jonathan goodman met somebody. I think we got a record it. I'm gonna put that. I'm put that to music. Podcasts is going to be a song with that lyric because as this really good ebb. Sorry i didn't mean to steal your thunder but that was on the okay. What's the topic. The topic is sort of building relationships with your colleagues the value of the relationship. When it comes to your colleagues and i don't know what the official title is because ambien jonathan were going back and forth about a word that colleague. I think was word amber. Do you want to chime. would you like shami. And you've got a fitness device behind you. You seem smart importance of building positive. Relationships. it's called okay okay. The importance of building positive relationships with colleagues. And we've touched on this before. I think our commentary before one of the podcast. Maybe somewhere in the twenties or thirties. I think the peak of the of our discussion around the subject was if i can remember the phrase correctly. Don't be addict. I think is what we what we decided on collectively pretty much where we ended up there. And that's a that's yeah. That's always a profound statement. However we're all colleagues here on the show and our ability as individuals on the show to build relationships with colleagues for the most part while we're on the show is actually only one talented efficient person here nets amber but for the rest of us in. We're we're running off. The strength of our ability to build. relationships is not that great podcasting. He told me that and then he told me. Let's do a podcast and based off the strength of our relationship like cool and kettles dynamic. Didn't know much about podcasting either. Nor did i. But john was like. Hey i know you guys. you're all right. Let's podcast together. And we were like hit. A that makes sense. So this podcast. You're listening to if you are listening to it and if you're not i guess you won't hear me ask. Are you listen to it. So i should assume that. Everybody's listened to it. That i just so this podcast that you're listening to is sort of a result of today's topic right. You know building relationships with colleagues. We're all in the same groups that you are spoiler alert. Let's just start there and see that jonathan and keto an amber because it's almost is about to get some sugar from his way back the house and was coming and it is dr haydock thousand issue. We've had cited anything you're saying good that's probably a good that's it. That's probably a good thing. I'm glad actually for the best for the best. So but what i'm saying is we're all in the same groups that you guys are out there. If you listen to this you're probably in online trainers unite. You might be Grads you might be in a level to which is phenomenal. you might be in p. v. c. whatever that thing is what's what's the pt one. It's not online trainers. It's the united. Front rose vip. Those groups are not are not good. You heard it here first. So they're not. they're not good. But the reason. I say the reason i mentioned that we're also in the groups. And all of the other coaches that are administrators in ota online trading academy. Mentors are in. That group is because frankly you guys talk like we're not seeing what you're saying to each other. I see these i might. Don't they know grim machen here like like you guys are just left left to crack in the door open. I can hear you can hear you what you're saying back then made some leading muffins. We can smell the. We'd guys like my door in the towel. The doors keeping the weeds from reaching the old folks in the front room. We can smell it. Hey glowing the smoke out through a laundry. Was that laundry paper called a dryer sheet. Yeah blowing blowing the.

"Rest of the budget went to a free trial of Zen Catholic faith. So we're trapped out now financially tapped on the on the online training show Dalek too bad you you had a chance before we went to a new free platform that were using on a trial birth. Scared of deal deal with it. So Jonathan, we've got we've got programs and processes. I'm sorry. I don't remember exactly what you said. It was a long and things. Yeah, I managed as you as you get into it, but but take take take us into The Fray here Jonathan like let us let us know what what we need to learn Thursday. We need to know about these how these programs are offered monthly, you know twelve months has this is a good topic too. I had this conversation with an o t a student just today talk to me that the top talk to me about the conversation you had with student. Well, the student was asking about enrollment periods. And here's something that's really interesting to me. I'll talk to students and for you. Oh ta students out there who coaches in general I'll talk to students and they'll say things to me like, you know, I'm just having a problem. You know, how can I get more clients and I'll say oh, well, that's a great question. Tell me a little bit about birth. Enrollment process. What do you what did you do? Well, I did found in Clyde challenge sales. That's great. That's great. How long ago was that? Oh that was in February and I'm like what's so have you asked anyone to enroll February? No, no. Okay. Well this I'm going to knock your socks off today buddy. How about asking let's start there like so there's something there's something going on where they're we're getting the erroneous sort of information that once you ask people to enroll you have to wait till things sort of died down before long. You gotta wait till you go broke before you can ask more people to enroll again, you know, I don't get that well sort of wait until all the money runs out and people forget about me so I can ask them about more enrollment page. So my comment to this this coach was yeah, you know you own your business right like you realize that like your inch you're in charge of your own business. You get to say when the Shop's open for how long how frequently you know, when you're selling when you're not I said, you know, you probably want to do it more frequently than 1/8 eight or nine months. So let's let's start want to ask Food business more than once every eight or nine months right? But but but you know what it was Jonathan is what is the spotlight effect people sort of feeling like the entire worlds paying very close attention to everything that they do. I think there was enrolling again. Like what do you care if people that you're enrolling again? I've been rolled on every two week basis before because the first time I tried it, I didn't get any clients. So I just went back and did it again, you know, so so so interested in this subject to put it out into the community, so people can hear sort of from the horse's mouth from the Jonathan Goodman That hey it's okay to ask more than once a year. Okay to ask more than once a month..

"Can close the same down like 30 minutes early. I'm going to get free chips with with your permission. May I give some tips and these let's hear the first one first and then and then we'll we'll judge if the other two can be said here's here's some small-scale tips. These are not Jonathan Goodman level tips, but on a smaller scale so number one if your your if your operating on social media and that's one of your branding, you know, one of the places that you brand put the social back in the social media, you're not big enough for important off just media and that happens a lot like the rock can just post stuff and people will talk about it and talk to him and he doesn't reply that but if at our level you have to be social with your social media, so don't let people comment and you don't comment back love it. Don't not go to other peoples pages and engage with their page, you know, really concentrate on a social side of media coverage. Lot of times, we just get stuck on media and then we say nobody liked any of my posts. You're not at your it's people talking to you that close your eyes and shut your mouth and turn around when she talked. Of course, they're not going to talk you the next five. So that's tip number one. Is that good enough for me to go into step number two, it is incredible main thing two people. Oh to hear from me when you follow me. Let me give you an example. Like you're somebody like like you said like somebody followed me on Instagram Z I sent back to message said hey, thanks for following along. Just wondering. How did you hear about me? Oh a friend of mine posted a photo of your book. Oh, who was that friend? I'd love to say thank you. It was this person. Hey, by the way, did you get a copy of the book know I didn't would you like to link back?.

What's the difference between a micro and macro problem? Here's some examples like Michael Poems. Things business names right. What's what's Your Business Name? What's a logo? What's the color scheme of your website? what's the hottest new exercise. I you know does it do. Do you really think it matters to your client whether they you were a single league squad with their coats in a twist going down into a set up as a combination exercise or you know they they sit up and down ten times on a on a chair with a bar on the back like it doesn't matter to them what they're doing what they want to get results and they want to keep safe so so then talk about the the macro problems problems right the really important problems we're talking client. Goals Client Trust clients receiving value for price. And of course you reputation because at the end of the day that's all you have you know people can take away. Everything you have people can take away. Your facebook can change its algorithm the the stock market crash in you lose you money or whatever there are so many things outside of your control. The one thing that is in you control that is the most valuable commodity eh own. Is your reputation like that's a macro. That's where you've got to be focusing your time. Now you've got to see Mac O.. Behind all of the micro like what what do you feel like you have a handle on the macro but you overwhelmed by wave after wave after wave after wave of Mike can that even be theoretically yes but in practice almost never you know at the online trading academy of coaches are actually trained to see past the superficial and look for the deeper question a student asking because the the reality of it is look. We've we've coached thousands of people we've helped tens of thousands of of trade in eighty three countries do this thing and transition to online training and one of the things that we've learned is question asked us almost never the actual question and and that's simply because trainers. Have you know this this honorary training. The thing is in new business opportunities. It's not that well understood for people kind of outside of Oh socal because it just has been around for enough years and so a lot of people who want to transition into it simply don't know what questions to ask but they're scared of taking action so they feel like they should ask a question but what they haven't done as they haven't defined the root problem now. The finding the problem almost always provides better results but a lot of the trainers to come to us through their stock. They feel overwhelmed in frustrating. They're making progress. And the reason for that is simply that they're thinking in the micro and missing the macro and and that comes down to feel which comes down to a lot of the time lack of understanding and a lack of really really really great. What's important and what's not important and it feels like it feels like you're missing something right because there's a lot of people selling this opportunity opportunity to you making you think that it's a lot more complicated than it is and don't get me wrong? There are a lot of things that you need to know. But what matters is that that you take imperfect action with some sort of a blueprint and then you have a series of mentors and coaches that you actually trust like I'm not talking about free people in a facebook loop that probably. Yeah no less than youtube but are very willing to offer you advice The you can't get much good from that. You can just get more questions procrastinate. More what I'm talking about is a group of the mentors. Were actually done this thing. Who have worked with a lot of people proven in the world who four you altruistically want you to have success because you success is success and and actually know what the Path is or they understand that there isn't really a straight path but they know how to work with you and coach with you to figure out what the Path is you take for example? One of Students Jim Hoagies. He's not only tracheotomy student alumni now in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and he actually registered for the course after twenty five years working with clients and posted. This JIM is an experienced personal trainer. I mean personal training as an itself is not an old profession like the that many trainers out there who have been doing it for twenty five abuse. Jim had been doing it for twenty five years. He knew what he was doing still soon after he joined not a he emailed us with just a a plethora of pressing micro decisions you now from the name of his new online training business to how to enable notifications in Google drive. Jim just got bogged down by the little things and he actually at me I. It was crazy he Alex who's WHO's head coach. He's he's in charge of Oliver Coaches and mentors And helps train them in with them so that they can better work with their students like He told let me just said Jim finished his email. Asking what do you suggest. Can I still be. Successful is an online trainer. Jim Jim had been trading taking clients for twenty five years but because he didn't know how to because he was unsure about the naming of his business and how to enable notifications nations and facebook and Google drive. He thought that he couldn't be successful. As on trend micro decisions at a gym to the point of questioning his path but honestly all the Jim needed to do was see that all of these little micro stressors just come down to the MAC os a few and forgetting what matters most to clients which is investing time and energy gene money into providing the highest quality of service like of course after a couple of back and forth emails with with our coaches. Jim McVeigh back on track. But the truth is a lot of trainers. Don't have coaches coaches and according to who understand these things you know. They'll just give them kind of things to do. And and and and look. I'm not saying that you should ignore the micros like they do. Add so you've got to deal with these things but in general your clients won't care about them so fixed what needs to be fixed but don't give micros any more time than they deserve like if you've ever worked for a micromanager you know what it's like. Today Awoke Day. Death of a thousand micro cuts like you know the Chinese. You never tone for this. It's called Lynch EA. It translates to slow processor. Lingering indepth and it's actually more popularly known as death by a thousand cuts it was it was a form of torture and execution China from around nine hundred nineteen o five Ce. It was panned like why would you do that to yourself. You know if any component of your training is causing you your client headaches. Yeah of course it's worth spending in your time to shop around and switch things up but beware trying to find the mysterious best. What have you or Geeky note on some way to present your programs that you care about but it won't matter in the slightest clients like that way lies madness? I always think about this this this friend of mine. He's A. He's a world class expert in developing learning models. Right scars guys one of the best educators. I know any wanted to like an academic educator so he wanted to learn how to play guitar so naturally as Looney expert as somebody who who professes has to be a learning expert he set out to build a model for how to do it best makes sense. Here's the thing. Six months later. He realized that he had he had to pick up a single guitar. Install a single chord like in his words. This isn't even my words in his words. If I had walked to the closest music store bought the cheapest guitar and Google a Free Totoro. I would be six months ahead of where I am right now. Think about that. Think about that when you're trying to figure out the best software before before you start. I mean everybody deals with us. I do not alone but but at one point. You've got to just get going you've got to establish okay. What am my must have you okay got it move just freaking? Move One of the best tools that we've come across this to unstick your brain and move you forward or something. Called the ten in ten ten will really puts everything perspective and I want to leave you with this. The concept was first created by business journalist and author. Suzy Welsh. It's it's use cross ten Tana Industries. Because it's just it has its global application. So let's let's say that you're dealing with any of the issues we've been talking about right. You're taking too long with a choice and you know it because I'm I'm sure as I'm talking about this right now as I'm talking to your like yeah yeah man. That's that's you got it. You got me Johnny. 'cause I know what I'm talking about areas in my life dealing with this so it's time for some perspective. I you got to identify the worst case scenario that could result from you take action this could range from you know not much or whatever it is to lose my business. Only be honest with yourself. Once you've done that I want to ask three questions question number one. How feel about this ten minutes now Christian rush number two holyfield about this ten months from now and then questionable three holy feel about this ten years from now when you do this simple exercise the ten ten ten and will you answers will help you realize what was weighing you? Down probably isn't as life changing as you think. Now on the flip side I want you to think of the best possible outcome that can happen all these things and ask yourself the same three questions. What you notice very quickly is that many of the stressors? Many of these micro things d'alene you have a disproportionately push innately. High will would relatively WISC when you take action white but what you do when you talk yourself into a corner and not taking action is is. You're not getting that advantage. Manag like like this. This is what I want to leave you with. Its its action that matters. It's imperfect action that matters. It's it's it's recognizing the difference between the micro and the macro decisions just just keeping everything in perspective so I hope that was super helpful today and I hope that really cleared stuff up and and and helps you take at least one major step forward and all that does is help you with that.

"Four four. Four nine nine nine point awesome. Let's get into today's show so what I want to talk to you. Today is about building an unbeatable a business mindset in comes once said at the end of the day you are solely responsible for your success and your failure and the sooner you realize that you accept that and integrate into your work ethic you will be successful as soon as you blame others for the reason that you aren't where you want to be you will always be a failure. I absolutely. Zoe loved that quote. Because the truth is begins complicate. An expert simplify. You GotTa remember that lead him your loan live that. It's a simple truth. That veteran Katrina see over and over and over again. You Mind messes with you. Maybe you know that already but you can improve your business mindset loan stronger ways to make decisions sessions. You will improve your chances at success. Now this is what I want to talk to you today. I want to give you some practical solutions to do this. And also show you the place where people screw up now. Obviously you WANNA execute like an expert. There's a lot of new trainers then fall back on human instinct. which in most instances to be honest shows shows up his fear? Hesitation over analysing. You might think that you're being cautious and intuitive but in reality you wound both wrong things. So let's talk look I vote mindset in making confidence decisions you know you got to think about what really holding you back. Don't come down with analysis paralysis. This is the beginning of train. The fact is most of the decisions you have to make actually pretty simple by agonizing over every insignificant dissimilarity of each business component. Along the way you put yourself in quicksand that will pull you down every single day keeping you from moving forward you know I guess the question of what's going on. And why does this happen to so many trainers well. Let's simplify trainers. Don't think about what their clients truly need and they feel the unknown thing. What are your clients? It's really need. Don't mix this which what you think your clients need. Many simply. Don't understand what stepping stones will lead them to ultimate goal as it was on every decision becomes world hanging hanging in the balance critical in their mind. Every decision requires time and thought when in reality you should make decisions quickly. Think about them why they probably probably own as crucial as you think you know take the this is one of the questions that we hear all the time right one of the most pondered and discussed topics of Oh time for online online training every single day. We hear what online training software is the best. What's the difference between software and software when both provide the same central services? We've seen trainers take months testing different softwares dwelling on every minor discrepancy between them experts. Simplify try this. Id Three things you need yourself. Would you like. Don't even look at software yet right. Don't don't even think about what the names O with companies. I mean this is coming from a guy. Keep in mind and I've been an advisor I've advised almost every major software company out there right and and my advice to you is don't even think about software. You go to find a problem wait. How do you possibly attempt to solve a problem? I E the problem here. What's the best software what's supposed to portray business? How do you? How do you possibly attempt to solve that problem before you know what the problem is so remove give yourself in the situation define it? What three things? You need software to write that down now you pick a software that does those things and you never think about but again then you might be thinking right now right. That's fast. This might not walk. In what if it's the wrong choice or what will happen. This is crazy and we're moving too fast like it's not that big of a deal yeah You probably going to discover some things about the software you choose that bug you you know what thank you and your business and they're not gonNA keep your clients since from coming back. Take the time to understand what you and your clients actually need and filter out all of your decisions through that now. Look like. Don't get me wrong if you already using the software pogo stick with it. Don't even look at other options. What you have now is good enough? I promise like you've got more important things to do you. The second thing is like what are you afraid of talk about this all the time and get interviewed about this. All the time is is it often come back down to fear now fears nothing but no ash national response to the unknown and oftentimes. It's that few of the unknown of that next step. That forces us into unnecessary analysis in that regard road few is very much a choice. And why would you give that much power over you. You know do you to drive away. Fear to to eliminate fear for you life. You've got to make the unknown you've got to define the unknown so in this example in the software example which is ridiculous. Because it's just it seems to me like it's one of those things that is just really easy to over think hand and because it's so easy to over think it's a very convenient place to procrastinate because it's very easy to justify yourself that you're working that you're trying to find the best solution when really all that you're doing is just putting off doing anything that actually matters to move business forward so in this example pick the software it has a major qualities and you and move on. Because all that you're doing when you're picking you three things that you need your software to do you making the unknown. You don't lose valuable time wandering in the forest as is all of this fearful of what will happen next and hoping for an answer when you have the power to leave. You've really whenever you want. Keep going with this with with with more tools for mindset because I think that I think that building a mindset hugh really matter so much more than the practical strategies look I can give you a ton of different practical strategies building in twenty businessmen. All of them will be good and none of them will make a difference. Difference if you don't mail this mindset boat and if you don't you don't actually take action on them because because most things that you actually come across even if you googling looking at free information like most of this stuff I probably good enough Those those those million ways to skin a cat here with this online training gain. That's that's that's that's the secret that nobody tells you. So what are some more tools food for an unbeatable mindset. Like think about going back to one. Thomas Edison some shiny new thing. You know one of the things that he would do which was really need. A seed actually elude the press before the invention was finished like he would literally tell the press and make press releases until the newspaper that he had finished something before he figured out how to make it work because that created a deadline for himself if he knew that the news people who's going to call on something that he supposedly invented Well he better go out and invent that thing. This put Edison Addison position either take action and justify the excitement he's created or tarnish his trust and reputation and so obviously he worked but after any create this thing. You know that's one way to push this yourself to perform you. You gotta get your mind to the waste that you can just get the job done like look. We've got a whole bunch of effective strategies for this and and I i WanNa talk to you just a few of them right now but but but basically telling people that something is going to come before you ready to do it. It's actually really the effective strategy because accountability moves you forward like who better to hold you accountable than the people. You're selling to what what would happen. Let's just do without experimentally second. What would happen if you announced a new program to your audience and you actually sold your new program to audience A few weeks before to Eddie and you started signing people up. Don't you think that would remove your safety net and as it was removing your safety net..

Does Natural Talent Exist?

"So why some people good imitate accents and date impressions while others simply aren't obviously with practice. But why some people born with skill of imitation? And so on. Do you call the letter after q r or or is it bath or buff? There are nearly as many accents as there are people who speak, but why does that happen? Jonathan Goodman from the Cambridge language. Science department filled us in I think there are two layers of answers to this question. The obvious explanation has to do with upbringing, although there's likely element of natural talent involved just like stage acting we know for example that if you grow up by lingual, you'll be more effective. It's speaking the appropriate accent in either language, probably in foreign languages, generally. So this probably element of exposure to multiple languages and by consequence accents within a particular window, usually about the first ten or so years of life. So if you grow up around loads of accents, you might be able to imitate them easier. Maybe all our exposure to American television on this side of the Atlantic might give us an edge. But there's more to the net. The second layer I think has to do with the blue straight origins of human communication, some research in linguistics devilish, Mary anthropology suggests that the diversity of languages can at least in part because plane by kin or according to some group selection, whereby the pronunciation of particular words signals a connection with a certain Kiner group like a sports jersey for our vocal cords than the classic example is the biblical case of Schindler's in which after a battle between two tribes the victors distinguished between their own tribe in the enemy by asking everyone crossing the river to pronounce the word shibboleth members of the defeated tribe were known to pronounce the word differently. Allowing easy distinction between those in the group than those not. That might be an extreme example. But it shows the importance of accents for being part of a group if accents volved at least in part to allow people to distinguish kin from everyone else, we'd expect this tab profound locations for how language evolved and continues to evolve we might expect people with more diverse linguistic revenge netted backgrounds to be able to emulate foreign accents, more effectively. But until more extensive research is done. We can't say for sure
