"You know, the the assistant says hey, it's the year 3000 what ever been to the year 3000 Then so she's like, oh my gosh, I'm you know a thousand years in the future whatever and then she she meets this other guy. She's like, well, what about this? What about that one about that? What about this he goes? Oh that doesn't exist anymore. She goes that's impossible. How does it and then she starts crying. I'm like if I knew it was a if you took me from where I am right now put me a thousand years in the future and I'm I'm in the middle of nowhere and I go up to somebody and I go I'm just trying to get back to a to a marriage. How do I get back to America and America has been gone for three hundred years. I'm going to be like what it's been gone for like a thousand years is a long time things happen. Right? Like everything was an impossible place an impossibility to her, but it's been a thousand years. I mean like a lot happens in a thousand years and everything would just mind-blowing. You know, you're at that you accept the fact that you're a thousand years in the future, but you don't thought that nothing has changed in a thousand, right? Yeah that one and then you start bawling every time you find out something inconvenient has happened and I'm like, why are you making this character like this? I don't know that was goes bap. Have the dialogue there's nothing against the actress. I love the actors. But the way this whole thing was set up. It was just a little ridiculous you could have instead of like show I mean you could show emotion without physically like showing it like kind of like just had the emotion within you see her eyes whatever, you know, like but not her bawling because she wouldn't she wouldn't do that. They wouldn't allow that right in Vulcan. Yeah. No and you have to think logically about stuff, you know, logically that this could happen you're you know, you're a thousand years in the future and then actually the the score on these new Star Trek shows. They're like first off it's so ridiculously loud, you could barely hear the dialogue half the time cuz it just Blends in because the score is not like subtle. It's very much dramatic or you know has like a whole bunch of moving parts to it Dynamic I think is what I'm looking for and how long it just it over it distracts from the scene. You don't have to have music on every scene. It's okay to let you know a ship sound happen without any music or you know what I mean like phone number. Cool it on the music. Jeff Russell pump the brakes on the music anyway, but other than that though, I'm really enjoying where the seasons going off like like you like it and then you're like, I I like it. It's know. I like I like the idea. I liked where they're going with it. They they learned a lot from the past to see where they were screwing stuff up and they're trying to bring a little bit more. Hope basically it's like it's kind of a David and Goliath story, right? It's the the Federation which was a huge massive entity that help keep everything in order and promote Goodwill towards men and yada yada yada. It's now destroyed and there's little fragments of it left in the universe. And and how do you how do you put that back together and help bring ordering off and stuff through all this chaos? That's what I like. Yeah. I will say the best part of that episode one was when when she didn't go to the Starfleet Outpost and met with that guy that that there are whole encounter wage. Whole scene I did get emotional by I will say now that that was good. But everything else was very like whatever know I thought it was good. Anyway, any last words before we we're way over time here, but although we had a lot of a lot of action-packed stuff today you guys heard about my scooter ride my peace with scooter ride get the check in with Julie. We had Jose del Arco, which I thought Eric you had some great questions. Thank you. And then you find out that we gave Star Trek discovery of of nine. Do you think the ad Court know I think that pretty much wraps it up. after the show I don't know. He knows his women in that show. You think you'd watch it to get some sort of like action as life, you know visually, but I guess not. Well, that sucks show. We'll see you next week. This is m z now online at him Z now. "There. I'll wear my hat. Yeah, that'll be fun. Okay, we'll talk later. And then we'll hash out my cheaters deal. I have my agent there. I am I strapped on underneath it or that's again. I'm gonna have to defer you to aric. It's more in his expertise. Yeah again, it's a woman so oh, yeah. I'm afraid over to my home after she had been passed around this much since College. Hi, Julie. I appreciate you calling in. Thank you, bye-bye. All right. How do we recover from that you know, but Eric had a problem with his Apple. So you did get your Apple watch in I did get it in. Oh not home. You got a problem with it. And now you want to return it. So I ordered it and do the Apple Store do on my phone, you know, the online store, whatever the Apple Store. Yeah the Apple store, but online. Yeah, and so I took it took a while like I want to say like two three weeks. I think it was to get here about three weeks. Yeah. Yeah. So I finally got it. It was a it was a serious situation and this is your first Apple watch you haven't owned one before correct? Yeah. No the first one. Okay, so I got it. I was I had it for maybe like I want to say a couple of days or maybe five days or something like that. And I did I did try the EKG thing. I said everything was fine. I tried the oxygen thing on his watch them. He was in perfect health. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It was awful. I bet you know, that's a lie and twenty years. Yeah. They said his chances of defeating Covetous same as Donald Trump going to be in three days straight. He's as healthy as a five-year overnight wage. He did you can go right back to work. Yeah. Yeah, so I don't know so I was just using it but I never used that EKG or oxygen thing again. So I'm like mom always it's always monitoring you like it'll just start turn on on its own and let you know if there's an issue. Yeah. I don't know. I just feel like and then edit thoughts on it. It's like it's not really supposed to be used for medical like a diagnosis or anything like that just informational purposes. Yeah, everybody still purposes. So really I'm dead. Well, really? I don't need all that. So I was like and plus you know, how the I was thinking about they they're going to come out with a whole new Apple watch later on which is triggers in and yeah, which is an age that like a slower version which is arguing kg and oxygen later off probably next year and they're going to do you know a cheaper version of that that's going to be already included. So I was like well wait for that trade the what I have in now and get that one cuz I actually I went in and I traded my Series 6 for the SE. So oh you did already traded. Yeah. I wanted to start off. What's the difference from the SE and the the real one? Basically, the only difference is that it doesn't have the EKG. It has EKG, but it doesn't have it where you can manually do it off on the background again is in the background on a timer OK automatically, so you're still getting it but it's not. Oh, I want to check your right now. Now here's one of the coolest features that we got the test out. Let me do this. I'm going to turn my mic off. And I'm actually going to send I'm going to walkie-talkie Eric. With my watch this an incredible. I'm going to send you a secret message that only you can hear me, okay? You believe how pathetic Clark is I mean, oh my gosh. I think she really has a better life than him. Can you believe it? I can believe it. I mean she was just sex toys and everything. I'm sure he was like clueless about anything like that. So anyway in that great, it's almost real time. I didn't realize it's that quick. Yeah, that's not the delay, you know of Zoom as well. You know what I mean? So that's pretty close. Do you have that with your watch Club? Can you walk at ah, yeah. I can we need to add you to our friends list. Yeah. Well, I don't I mean my top eight all the top eight only watch so you've already traded in with your new watch you when you waited almost a month for this and now you're getting your new another one. No, actually I was able to go in the store. I went to the store. So those are open again. It was funny. It was hilarious. So, yeah, so I needed to check first, right? So I called the customer service line at Apple. And you know, I'm I'm already thinking like I'm gonna get the best customer service, you know, I may answer the phone. Like I'm just you know the king of whatever right like I'm going to give this Stellar customer service. Yeah, so I call. So I Rings maybe like another they were like, well, we're going to contact you. We're going to transfer you to somebody right? So I said, okay, so then it rings like once and then it goes like Silent Bob and I'm like hello and how much I want to record it was hilarious. So then I don't hear anything, but I look at my phone and it's still like the timer still running and everything like the cost down on right? Yeah, so I'm like hello and then and then I started here you all this rustling noise like And I guess somebody's fumbling with like the phone or something. Yeah, and I'm like, what store is this by the way? It wasn't a story. It was just customer service. Like just oh, I see a lawyer somebody that's they're all working from home right now. Yeah, they probably dropped the phone. Yeah the dog right off with the phone and they had a something and then and then and then so I stay on over to hang out and I'll signal down today. I want to see who this is. That's just all this mess. So mark your writing. Oh my God, I didn't know you were still there. I'm staying on it. I hear more rustling. I'm going to wait until the day maybe they have the their phone in their pocket and they're doing I don't know. Yeah, so finally this finally hear it like I hear this the wrestling stop but then I hear like some typing and stuff and then I'm like hello and then she's all high. Thank you for calling Apple like nothing happened various and then she ordered sensor. You set your watch over 2000 an Apple store and you're going to just go in and swap it out. Now. We know what she did was I said, well, I told her my situation. I was like I ordered it. I don't want to have to return it, you know by mail or by Athletics or whatever wage and then have to wait and more weeks to get the one that I want. Yeah, I understand that. So and then I was told her I said well, can I go switch it in the store? Like if I were to take it physically to the store dead. Would they be able to give me the one that I want that same day? Yeah,.

"What do I have to do Harvey Weinstein? I will I will bend over. Let me see my apple and then you can look up how about that? I'm not really familiar with that area. I'll move that over to Eric star that's his area of what do you call it? Fashion not women's expertise the same page. That's what they called spider. I see their spider actually left. I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to pass you over to Allison Mack. Yeah actually spied. Got up and left and he's at his house. By the way. Yeah, he said enough of this are actually I think I set him the video when what happened was I said in the video and he went to get better reception elsewhere. That's not the camera. Hey, well then thank you for loving you pretty much made my day. I'm glad you're saying that to be facetious. You know, what did I need a boob job bad. So maybe we can do like a thing. Hey, everybody donate a penny for jewelry to get a boob job, and then I'll run around make it all day long. Can I pay the dollar to not see that? No, I think I think you can make some pretty good mileage. You could at least make 20 bucks at least the bad job. Yeah, they get the same thing called the Chaturbate or something and take any more. I think it's I think it's only fans now when I need to start watching porn again, cuz I forgot how to do all that. Well off Juliet's good to hear from you. We haven't we haven't checked in on you in a while. And yeah, I'm glad you're still alive. I'm glad you're still kicking it. You look great. Have great a strong word. You look good, and we hope to see you back in the studio at some point. Are you really going back to your point? Cuz I would love to go phone not quite as beautiful that building is so nice. Well, I mean we're going we're going to be back in next week, but we were we're flip-flopping. We're actually in half way out. There is no joke I act Hazmat suit that we got for Peter and he doesn't wear.

"Off or that they moved I didn't just let's not like I sent it to me. They sent everybody but that they moved already moved Star Trek on to next year. So I was supposed to be December of the one that they well next year. Anyway, technically it's a canceled it right and then the one that having next year. So they also twenty twenty marks the end of creation who puts on the the convention. Yep. Marks the end of their license with CBS. So now they can't even call it the Star Trek convention anymore. Now, it's the fifty five year Mission star trek-themed convention, but the good news is it's back at the Rio so I can go eat my Buffet go to the convention get tired want to take a nap go upstairs. Never never leave the hotel. Yeah. You never have to leave. So we have Julie on the phone. I've been hearing all these people dropping like flies, you know because of covid-19. We know you don't give up about anybody's Wellness. Why on Earth? You're pretending. I lost money knowing that you were still alive at this point. How much did I owe you Clark wage? I think twelve fifty $12.50. I lost a Clark. How much do I owe? You work ten thousand dollars $10,000 because my thought was the beginning of this whole pandemic you were going to be the first to go down you are you like a cockroach thanks you so is there a question in that or how much I just how much money you owe me? Why didn't make a bet with you. I just I assumed you were going to be gone, but you're a survivor. Well because I don't believe in the sickness on right you're not down with the sickness as I say. Yeah, it's it's a. Process. Right right viruses are a thought process. I don't know. You know, I'm not smart enough to figure all that out. But God, I haven't been sick since October of 2007. What do you sort of that to? What was that sickness? Actually, we want to go into it. My mom was an herbalist and know so much. Yeah almost like medicine know he didn't believe in getting off shots and crap and so like oh, yeah, I'm the flu shots, like people would get it and it put something in their blood to where when people cough around other people all sudden. They they get sick right off. The only thing I could think of you really like the anti doctor falchi like they should have you come up. The other thing I want I lost money on was wage. Was the last time you were on the show during this whole pandemic? I I got a new TV video from you and I was pleasantly surprised because I thought I said something to me by the way, I didn't send anybody we're going to we're back and see you next week. I'll put it up on the screen is a woman of your age looking that it was better looking than I thought and I just I lost money on that page. That's why I owe Eric so much because 5,000 was for the survival 5,000 was for the looking way better than I thought you would. All this money because you guys thought I was going to be dead and then there's some naked chicken. It happened to actually be made the other five thousand was cuz I didn't think you were going to look as good as you'd given your Advanced age and holistic medicine routines. Wait, so let me get this right and I completely forgot about that you is this the one with me and Jaime? Yeah. I put it on my only fans if you want to if you want to remember what it was like to pay for it. Yeah, I'll give you a discount code. So it's not full price. If you're going to go to the studio and do that until then. I need to be invited next week cuz I want to sit there and watch it for ten and one hundred percent invited as long as you wear a hazmat suit. Okay, I got one. All right. I was pleasantly surprised this is now I was not expecting things to be preserved as well as they were what I saw this video dude. I'm like forty eight am well Rob's to you. Thank you. Thank you. I hope I cannot believe you still remember that remember I watch it every morning alarm goes off and the music that's playing right. It's like like the beginning of a sudden movie. I don't know Smash Mouth by All Star starts playing and then I get up out of bed. I hit the alarm I get up out of bed. I'm brushing my teeth Alexa play the Julie video and not sit on the screen for me and I watch it and then, you know get dressed. I'm doing my workouts. And I leave for the day. I never I say I say howdy neighbor if I case I don't see you. Good afternoon. Good evening. And goodnight. Are you going out all the time or you just going to work and then going back home? Yeah, I mean other than the grocery store or gas station and where am I going to go? I don't know. Right. Do you have do you wear masks when you do go out or no? Well, you have to I thought it was mandatory for says good. We're a mess. You can't come in and who do I have to talk to to get this get a credit on Cheaters? What do I have to do? What do you want the credit for anything idea Guy voice guy cheater? I can go cheat on somebody that's fine. You can catch me in the ACT wage. Well, okay perfect relationship another job, right? And I think I would bring in I would cast lady G as the person that I was supposed to be in the long-term with that would catch me with a cyst woman. And then I think that even fold and we do this in front of American Airlines Center. I think it would be better if you flip those but no but that's the other thing. It's like most people that are get caught cheating with their system that email girlfriend or whatever are usually with the Trans. So I'm flipping that scrip take a look at it. I mean there is no surf like what I don't understand like is this a real? Yeah. It's a real it's one hundred percent real it's one hundred percent real you should let me call Gomez will do the hit right now. What do you call it? That a hit song Sopranos bus will do the bus right. Now. I'm going to I'm leaking information. I'm going to be in front of the Quiznos at 11201 Main Street, and I've already tipped off of Gomes. I let him a series of Clips. Yes, I do. We have we have a ton of ideas. Oh my God. What am I give me a quick I want I want to put a credit on my IMDb. I want to have my first credit on IMDb as working on Cheaters. You know, what may be a cameraman jackass. Yeah. And then whatever your name is jackass. Number one, I can play that don't be a background guy can do whatever you want me to do. I'll do whatever you want to do, Julie. You know, what really? What do I have to do?.

"The way it is for the industry. You know, I know you playing the hookah lounge I was like I had like there's no drop of anything of gayness. I know there was one scene between you and Eleanor there's they're kind of nineteen towards something, but I know there's nothing wage. Sure to say that. Well, I made a choice about him my choice for working with scripts. But yeah, you you you you caught it. Yeah. Yeah, so I was like, well not always but it was tricky because we didn't have many scenes together and we had to get very emotional moment very quickly and wage. I had to died with his arms and I wanted something more powerful to just like it is a guy that's been hanging out cute for a few days. But he died in his arms, you know, I wanted it. I am an investment for myself and the idea that they were seeing that maybe never you never saw that happened between the two of them. So I'd I wanted to kind of flip that out there. So I just use myself. I you know how I respond to someone like that and the idea of being a Droid your whole life and never letting someone and then maybe but before you die, you do it's kind of a moving thing, you know, so playing roles. Dr. Morales who was openly gay and then also Sofia Lopez who is transgendered woman. Do you feel like it's easy to prepare for those roles, since you kind of have like real life experience being in the you know what I mean t? Yeah, I mean, no they're they're not any different. I would say the only different in that it offers you an opportunity to use more of yourself, you know, cuz you're pulling from your life. So that's good. That's always good as an actor if you can find yourself in a part. So in that way but sometimes that's harder too because if you a little close right because you you're playing who you are so that can be hard as well Sophia. I can have the real experience in the trans World. They you know, the LGBT community at the time was not as inclusive as it is now, I feel like the transgender Community become a much deeper part of the LGBT community and yep. But back in the 90s, there's still some some explanation of trying to I definitely back then there was so I didn't know a ton of transgender people off and I basically bowled the character after my own mother and my sisters. Um, so that's it's interesting of the route island of realistic. You know, what are the women that I know? You know, I'm right. Well, the reason why I ask is I also I'm a aspiring actor myself and I am I'm gay I shoulda seen recently in class where I should chat from American Horror Story season one who's played by his doctor who also is played Spock in Star Trek. Yeah. Yeah. So so doing the scene in it. It really didn't smoke. I guess like him being gay was playing it as myself. So but I was told to kind of, you know, boost up the game this or the flamboyancy. Have you ever been told that I tried dog? For like a opening game or well, it's funny. They they write it. They especially in comedies. They write to sort of chant version of being a is dead and I can be can't be on any given day, you know after a few cocktails, but that's not like my that's not my neutral position or the person you know, I don't you know, I'm not cracking jokes and crack, you know sitting about all the time. So they'll tell you that they'll say they'll write a character that's very stereotypical and they'll say we don't want you to play a gay and you go really wage on the page. Right? Right, so they can go in and you try to like not play a game and you try to sort of be like yourself and then inevitably you don't get the job and then you watch whoever got it. It's not money and so certain degree day and you know at the wrong so, you know, I don't I don't trust or believe that any more. I think they really do want it. They just don't they want it, you know, yep. Thank you so much for being so open regarding your your thanks guys. You should yeah. No, it's been it's been a pleasure man. I hope we get to see you in real life one day if we all survive them.

"Jonathan, how are you doing? Hey, man, how's it going? Good, how's what are you doing during the wage to keep busy? If you follow me on Instagram, you'll realize that become an addict at baking sourdough bread and deliver and delivering it to friends. Don't ask why it's become a really good time stuck. Now, I know you're big into like working out and everything because of the quarantine. Are you still going stronger? Are you using that as an excuse not work out? Well, I love working now. I mean, I walk my dog, uh about three or four miles a day no matter what that's kind of extra on top of a workout I've been doing yoga lately is there's actually a a great yoga. Yoga class and think she's from Texas yoga with adriene. She yeah, she's amazing. And so I've been doing her classes, but really keeping me saying you're doing boss. I'm not doing anything. I'm just making every excuse I can to not move. I haven't moved in the past six weeks and it's been great. I've been watching Netflix. It's a fantastic. Oh my God, you're like a big cat. Yeah exactly back on itself, right? So, were you a Star Trek fan before getting the the huge role in next-gen? I was I was an original series fan, I grew up watching reruns of it off learned English watching Star Trek and other TV shows. So yeah, I was Hardcore into it. I would stay up really late and fall asleep to it cuz it was on super late at night in New York where I was throwing up. And then, you know I tested for the role of Wesley. So the Star Trek Next Gen was kind of in my world, but I never really had watched it until I did it with actively. Of course. I became a big next-gen fan you as Wesley. I think could have changed a whole thing. But then you also probably would have been asked to do pakar. So just kind of worked out right? That's true. Yeah, I woke up great actually so next gen goes off the air they do a few movies, you know, everyone thinks they're done with the roles, you know, principal. I know especially said, hey, I'm never going to play data again, you know that's awful aging Android, you know, all this stuff and then, a car when you got the call about returning a shoe. What was your first reaction disbelief? I mean, it was actually dead wasn't a call. It was actually a dinner at the Hollywood Bowl with one of the producers of the show James stuff was also from Texas, ironically and James paste it to me dead. To Jeri Ryan. So it was both of us that were sort of presented with a what would would you do it? And of course I would I mean, I don't know that ever going to happen. But you know, this was before Patrick and even a console is really early on the conversation. And yeah, it was it I didn't seem real once I was actually on set to be honest. Now you get the chance to reprise a role. You haven't played since you know the early nineties and you get to work with Patrick Stewart again being the Star Trek, you know, you got to do voices and stuff for for some of these games now you're on screen again, and then you're looking through the scripts and then a couple of episodes later your thoughts that are you like are you kidding me? You couldn't have killed off anybody. Look at all these new actors that you know, nobody cares about you that you know, kill someone else. Yeah. I was pretty disappointed to see it. Um, you know, I I came to embrace it and try to do the best work that I could do, but I was definitely I would lie to I was saying I was I'm getting killed off I didn't want to get off. I had no intention of having that happen to me, but they needed I think that story point to propel the rest of the season. So I guess someone had to die and it was my day. Well I picked about five other people that could have died, you know you if I was the writer on there I would have let you live just just so you know, I appreciate that. You know, it it starts like no one ever really dies. So that's why I was getting that page like, you know Thanos snap half the world, you know away and then the next movie everyone's back and they beat him up. So do you think you can come back at some point? Do you think you have hope that you might come back at a later date? I think you should give up. Hope I don't see it in the cards. I've not been talked to about it. I don't think the writers are that's where they're at right now, but you never know down the line. There's so many incarnations of Star Trek many different kinds of shows that happen and you never know. So I didn't think I'd come back now and here I am could be a magical moment. I could be a writer on Star Trek at some point and we're at you know the internet choice. And I say hey, by the way, we want to bring back you, you know, it could be a magical maybe not as fantastic as the Hollywood Bowl conversation, but you know, it'll be I could I can I can feel that I think that could happen. So did they give it a secret your death of secret until you know the day you were filming? Oh they did. Oh, wow. So that makes you feel worse, you know, no one allowed to talk about it and I didn't even know. I mean, I love the cast members in there before we shot it cuz we all got script post that you know, we weren't allowed to talk about it at all anybody. So, you know all my friends and all the people that follow me nice like, you know watching my shows had no idea, you know, because I had the rollout was a big over the show and for my character and I, you know got such equal treatment to all the series regulars that I don't think anyone really saw that coming. Yeah, they'd invested so much in the character, you know, so yeah, I guess that's the bigger. That's the biggest impact right? Like when Jon Snow die don't know ma'am. Right, that's true. That's true. So a lot of people are saying, you know, it's sad that your character died before, you know reuniting with Jordy or were you a little disappointed you didn't get to work with LeVar Burton again, seeing how your your guys are actors were so close. Very disappointed. I mean, I I was surprised and I I had asked them, you know, why don't I asked about Jordy like I don't understand why the majority is not being addressed in anyway. Well, maybe they had plans for using him later on. They didn't want to muddy up the storytelling. I have no idea. But yeah, I was I would definitely bombed I was bonded in have seen Jerry I was born they didn't have a seen loopy or with with any of you know, Beverly, you know characters of the character initially bought a new well, I was super bummed that we never got to that. Well you're in luck because I happen to be a writer on Reading Rainbow of the online edition, and we're writing you in for a character with LeVar Burton dead. Be great. Okay. Yeah, I can imagine that. Yeah, so I go to a storage rack on every year I started going mostly kind of as a joke a years ago and then I'm like, I really enjoy this. This is a lot of fun. And so I go every year I don't remember seeing you at any of these cons. Do you kind of stay away from the condo know I do them all the time. Oh,.

"It's going to be like about valid the valley, you know, like what know the valve I'm back in it. So, what did you think I just finished episode to this morning now? We're getting somewhere episode 2. Yeah. I stopped after episode one because episode one was so boring. They had to sit at this whole story. So for those who don't know we're talking about The Vow is an HBO Max bout docu-series about Nexium, which is kind of like if you went to go by Scientology on wish next term is what would come in the mail and I buy a nerdy like El Ron Hubbard was at least kind of like a big guy, you know had this, uh, I don't know energy about and there's like a little pipsqueak nerdy dude that just wants to to bang out. It's really so he has this whole He creates this whole thing the Scientology type thing as as kind of a mask for what's really going on, which is he has a second choice called going on and the background Yeah, well the Forefront was a like a self-help like be the best that you can be, you know. Yeah, and then behind behind it all was a what-do-you-call-it. I'm taking the best of the best women wise and then bringing them back into a secret group within the group and it was branding them which I I just got to the part where they showed the brake and which looks disgusting. By the way. My brand is going to be way better from my sex my gun. I already have a design already hired the best graphic designers. It's going to be fantastic sound like Donald Trump. Yeah. I know brand has ever been better. Are you going to hire Allison Mack design it? Yes. That's the whole reason why I'm even interested in the story is because of Allison Mack I have had a crush name is Matt from you know small really from it was Honey We Shrunk Ourselves. She was the daughter in that. Oh she was yeah. Oh the third one the one that just went straight to VHS. I think. Yeah, but she The daughter and that and then she was on Smallville and I've always thought she's super hot and for all these years have been trying to get her on the show. And you know, all that little did I know she was tied up with Nexium this whole time we were trying to get her on the show and I always had this fantasy we say tied up. Yeah. She she was getting branded. You can't just be free to move when you're getting branded. I thought she was I don't know if she got brand. I think she was the one doing The Branding. Yeah. She was she was like the the recruiter. Yeah, cuz he she was like, so what he did was he would be brainwashed toilet. Well, okay. I mean, it's already been like I know news I know he's talking about and I I did watch the first episode of this and it was rough right when it was like you just woke up and give me get me to the sex slave part pretty much we know all this other so you don't have to tell us how to organize it wouldn't file the LLC and they you know, they they did this they didn't that they filed their tap. I don't care about all that job. It right to the sex life part. So yeah episode to you started getting into that and so Allison Mack was like the recruiter. She was bringing in girls for this this cult. And yeah, I always had this fantasy. I would have her on the show one day, you know on the phone or whatever and I would do such a great job that she would fall in love with me little did. I know that that could have very well been true had I just had this crazy cult. Hey, yeah, you go to pick it out girls that will get branded for me. Yeah. Absolutely. I actually I'm doing that in my current job right now. Perfect off your high already. You already have someone for that position to yeah. She goes by the name of Satan. Oh, yeah. That's right. That's a that's a recruiter right there. That is a recruiter wage. See your Jolene Maxwell. Why don't like to associate with Jeffrey Epstein so no, but she's my Allison Mack. I've always thought about creating a cult that just so long. And just as a joke to see who had signed up for it. Like, you know Alf is the we get our teachings from Alf the alien from Melmac, you know, or something like that and then at the same time I could use that should cover. Yeah, I give you that as a cover for my my sex cold like all cults. It's like if you did then I get too deep into it. Yeah, they're all sects Cults home. I just presented as something else most of the time I'm scared that I do this whole cult thing and then I I start believing the teachings of alpha male Mac and then I just I buy into it because it's so true and that was going to say next thing. You know, I'm Dave crash. I would probably say I would say you more like knowing all at all of it and then getting bored and wanting to leave but now you can't because you have so many followers are you you're trying to escape at this point. Yeah, I'm from and then they make a documentary about me escaping Melmac compound Melmac trying to get a stop eating cats. Yeah. That's that's how we got our nourishment from cats dead. That's how we survive because cats are survivors. See I'm already starting to think about it and believe it already Clark had a health scare this week. We don't know anything about he's been teasing it all week. I've been in the same thing with Clarke this week. And so now I'm starting to get worried about what I should be expecting to see on my my results. So I went to expect I expect you up to and so like last Sunday after I got done recording I had felt a little sick and you looked really bad to well. That's just that's just the net and the nature of things lately month. So I had like this by just the thing where it was heartburn and I took a heartburn pill that my sister had his prescription not the heart burn out but I still had pressure in my chest. Yeah, and every time I sat down it was hard for me to breathe and I was like what the hell is going on here? So me one get on WebMD this week. We were all in the same room together while he is having all these issues so if he had coded wage, Now exposed so well, we'll get that later. Oh, there's more. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I haven't even gotten to the scary part. So I started having my name's these chest pains and I I go to I go to work on Monday and I have to pass a health screening, but when I get to work, I'm all nauseous and I have chest pains and hard for me to breathe. I couldn't pass my health screening. So what it means I sort of go to work you have to this is a daily thing for you guys. Yes every day. I have to I have to fill out questions that have I been near someone that's acceptable Bose. Am I experiencing these systems or have I been tested for covid-19 and take your time mature? They can still but they don't need to because of the screening process the screening process though is on the honor System though, so you don't worry and you got the form you're like did you do this? And you just say no, I'm pretty much is they're not taking your typical we can still take the temperature. Okay, if but if you're still just trying to work and you feel good knowing you may have covid-19..

"I should say peace in long life to you because today we are spoiling star Trek Picard the newest installment in the massive star Trek Franchise is currently streaming on. Cbs All access which is now offering a free month trial because of the corona virus. Very exciting so the three of us are all pretty Big Star Trek fans. I'm curious what you were thinking going into the series the springs back Patrick Stewart as John Luc Picard. The character he played on the generation arguably the greatest of Star Trek Captains Daniel. What were your patients had an to this. Well I mean he's the second best star Trek captain. The first one's gotta go to Janeway but anyway I was really excited about this. I have been in the past year or two binging a lot of Star Trek. Mainly to you Marissa. You gave me a breakdown of where to start in next generation which is mainly skipped most of the first season. And then just watch that one person die that everybody cared about. I'm just like by ghosting. Do but I was excited about Picard. Because I went to comic con last year on a whim this is where they like showed the trailer and everything and it was very exciting to see and be in a room with like all these other big star Trek fans who are maybe a bit more hard fans than I am but I was looking forward to it because it's just fun to be with Patrick Stewart on television. He's a great charismatic presence and is just really loving and kind and really exuded that on stage honestly during the COMECON presentation. He was the most charming loving person up there and it just kind of radiated out from him and it was clear that everybody loved the project because he was a part of it and so I was just excited to experience more of him. How about you Meghan for me? I wanted to Picard. Mostly curious about how they were going to structure this series really explicitly around this one character. So my background with Star Trek is I watched the original series and then the next generation deep space nine probably about four to five years ago now and the next generation was never my favorite of the three. I think I liked the other two better but I knew that it was big cultural touchstone. I knew that it had a huge place in sci-fi and Patrick Stewart is always a delight to watch and so I think of all the characters to Kinda build an upon star trek series around the cards great choice because he has such a defined philosophy of valley being life and following discovery and really having strong rhetoric around. That and I was curious. How that kind of idealism and philosophy would play in our world now and especially the kind of darker tones that you often see in media these days so I was curious about it. I was excited to see how they would do that. I was excited to see how it would broaden the franchise and broaden what the franchise tends to do so. I would say that I was like jumping up and down excited about it but I was really curious about an excited to see what they did. And for the most part I was pretty pleased with the result how much I went into. Picard with no small amount of trepidation I was very excited for Star Trek Discovery. Csl access other star trek show. It was bringing the franchise back to the small screen for the first time in a long time. I thought the first two episodes were really promising and then the series cooled on me like at first. I was really interested. And then it got very twisty and needlessly dark and the way it fit into. The Canon didn't quite work for me so by the time. The car rolled around. I was really worried about the same set of decision makers playing with one of the most respected characters and all star Trek and. I'm very grateful that I needn't have worried because I think they pulled it off well and I think they learned a lot of valuable lessons from discovery to the point where certain aspects of the show almost seem to be responding to criticisms and learning from discovery. So there's one major player on the card who's not on discovery and that is Michael Shaban the author Poster Prize winner. Who came in and it was a little bit surprising when he did just because a little bit. It was like Michael Stevens Doing TV and I think he may have made all the difference in this case. It was so much more cohesive however there was a lot of plot to get through and that is where we should jump in Daniel. Why don't you kick us off? Where do we pick up with captain? John Luc Picard. Yeah so we pick up with Picard about twenty years after the end of Star Trek Nemesis. Which was the last feature film of the Star Trek Universe in that film? All about the board data dyes and things are kind of left like that's the end of that world for quite a while and then we come back to Picard and it picks up twenty years later. A lot has happened apparently fourteen years ago in this world. There's instant on Mars fourteen years prior to the first episode. Where the since somehow all went crazy and murdered a bunch of people and kind of ruin starfleet attempt at saving a bunch of Romulus from a Supernova. Those happening near their home planet and basically led to the sense being banned by the federation so that no more could be made or worked on and they needed to all be retired so picard had a huge problem with this because he really wanted to save the Romulus and was very upset with the federation's decision to pull out of saving the Romulus. The synth attack and also had a huge problem with the decommissioning of these sense because he viewed them as people he viewed them as intelligent life who deserved humanity so he is retired and was basically forced into retirement because of this incident and the subsequent stuff that happened with the Romulus and he is now living on his vineyard. That is so much plot information and that's just like the first episode of the show really half the first episode to well. The thing is there's so much plot dump in the first three episodes that it actually made me nervous about the pace of the show because it was like a lot is happening very slowly. There are so many scenes where characters are sitting across from each other explaining what has happened in the interim since we saw these characters. One that I think the show did really well though. Is that all of the plot developments. Proceed very naturally from other iterations of the franchise. So you mentioned data. Who Dies at the end of Nemesis Nemesis famously? One of the not. So Great Star Trek Movies. It didn't get a sequel. It was not a satisfying goodbye for the character. So this series is sort of bringing that back and revisiting it and then at the end of Nemesis. There's the suggestion that data's consciousness as an android was left in this other creature before and that sort of is tied into the series as well the idea that data is able to live on after his actual the other major factor. That has influenced a time. Line is the Romulus Supernova which was explored in the J.J. Abrams reboot universe and felt sort of like this random puzzle piece J.J. Abrams kind of tossed in there to get the plot going as he wants to do. And it was actually really satisfying for me to see that play out and have long term consequences for the franchise so Marissa's point speaks to something that I enjoyed about this series in that this kind of hearkens back to the event that occurs with spock and the red matter in the two thousand nine Tj. Abrams Star Trek movie. And I like that Info Card because those movies are now happening in an alternate timeline. You can see these two universes even across lots of time kind of playing out separately like the you can see the full potential of the franchise being able to explore these two different parts of Star Trek. One thing car. That's really interesting is that this is the farthest in the future that Star Trek series have taken us so far and also. This is a bit of a break. In current cut of vogue of a what Star Trek series have done recently in that both enterprise even though that happened while ago now and discovery where both prequels to a lot of the major events happen in original series now star Trek. The Card is happening the furthest in the future of any star trek iteration. That's happened so far until the third season comes back of discovery and now they're like further ahead than like every single iteration of star trek ever. But even that I feel is almost less risky creatively to go that far in the future because the are much lower for us as yours. I mean as much as we're attached to the characters. The galaxy may have changed so radically that we don't really feel attached to it and we don't need to see a natural progression so much whereas with the span of a couple of decades we really do expect continuity with the character on our understandings of starfleet and of the federation and their values and so I think picard in that respect by going into the future but not going too far into the future actually raises the stakes and sets itself up with higher expectations. Because a lot of the choices they make are potentially controversial. I mean this is a version of the Federation that as much as it's continuing on its mission failed to help a refugee population it has and synthetic life. It's a very bleak imagining what that future would be basically jumping back to the first episode so that we can get ourselves kind of into what this plot is going to become. We meet this girl named dodge. We meet this young woman. Were kind of unsure of who she is what she's doing but the typical like protagonist of like dropping. Un with somebody in the middle of things so you grow to like them. They're some mystery going on with her. She gets attacked by a bunch of what seemed like Romulus guards. Or something. And we're like wait what's happening. And then all of a sudden she gets quote unquote activated and starts murdering all of them and becomes this like killing machine and goes on the run. We're like what's happening. What's going on so she is for some reason she doesn't even know why seeking out. John Luc Picard. So she goes to his planet earth and seeks him out and starts to tell him about. What's going on that? She doesn't know why she's here but was led here and he takes her in and tries to go to the federation to help her and figure out what's going on but she then gets murdered by another like basically Romulo and Swat team and we see her die. At the end of the first episode and jean-luc his frail body getting thrown from the explosion and somehow is fine so she dies in the first episode and we thought that she was gonna be the protagonist of the series. Like what's happening here. And then we find out that. She's a twin sister and that she's actually a sin and that they are identical and that all since are made as like a twin pairs and so she and her sister were brought in some way into the federation star system and are trying to live but like they don't know that they are since necessarily so now picard is on a journey to find her twin sister. So G. WHO's working on a reclaimed board cube. That also has some interesting Ramadan stuff going on it. One of the important points is that the card also deduces that dodge and consequently Soji are effectively. Data's daughters said hearkens back to his very important friendship road. Dana who is now dead and the other important point that I'll mention is that in his quest to find out more about the orangutans of the assists and explorers options. And helping them protecting them he also meets up with Dr Agnes Girotti or I believe at the day Storm Institute and she is a major expert on synthetic artificial life. I think one of the world's most prominent especially now that the ban on since has been enacted played by the fantastic alison pill. Yeah her performance is wonderful in this series and so that meeting also kicks off lots of other events and comes a pretty important point in terms of how we find out about the sense and interactions with other characters throughout the season. So one interesting choice that the show makes is that we actually follow. Soji apart from Picard. She's not left as sort of this mystery box. Macguffin character that. It's just an excuse to get the game back together. We're seeing what she's doing on. This reclaimed cube and I think the show very neatly brings in a lot of major players from the next generation rather than finding some new made up enemy. I mean the board are sort of the big bad certainly for the next generation but also for voyager for a lot of the ninety two thousand series and to bring them back. I mean we get Jonathan. Del Arco has reprised his role as you Character who appeared in a couple of episodes of the next generation as aboard drone and. This really confirms that the Borg are not a race..

"Welcome to episode twenty three of how we win all over the country. Ordinary people are doing extraordinary things. We're giving you the tools that you need to jump in and make a difference right now the best antidote to anxiety and we have a lot of it this week from is action two thousand twenty here and we want you to join the party today. DC connection and tease the Oscars a little bit by giving our best documentary picks and we have an amazing interview with former Senator Barbara Boxer and her daughter documentary filmmaker Nicole boxer together. They host the boxer podcast. We talk about what it was like to sit through the Clinton impeachment. How this impeachment is different and the role of the arts and cutting through the political noise Pearson and Mariah graven? And this is how we win. Thank you guys for joining us. What an honor honor or pleasure is exciting? And what a we Something happening what happened. What didn't happen yesterday? Well let me tell you the Hollywood caucus has their stuff together way. More than the Iowa caucuses definitely be sure of that. I just don't get how and the level of incompetence can even exist. Well okay so first of all we drop these podcasts on Wednesday and so all of the primaries are going to be on. Tuesday's the typically are I was really excited about Monday's caucus so we could actually talk about results but to your point I don't WanNa like rub mud in these guys faces too much because these are all volunteer and all of those volunteers ears who have been working on these campaigns and basically living in Iowa for year. She'll really bad for them. They were a little bit set up for failure. Apparently from what what I read a lot of people hadn't even downloaded the APP until caucus and so that indicates a lack of preparation and training meaning like dry. Run would have been a great idea. Thank you just all volunteers. Get Your APPs on. Let's teach you how to run it. Let's send some fake results today. That doesn't happen that that that people don't look at it and go. Here's here's what we need to do to lay this out so that it will work beautifully you typically but the carcasses kind of a big thing. Don't you think someone along the road would've gone. What guys think what's happening Darin? I do a production meeting also. Oh so like here. We are the morning after okay so they had all night to kind of go. Okay the APP sox. Let's do calls. We're already how many hours end they. They can't take seventeen hundred calls and write a bunch of numbers down. Come on come on important I can handle all of this. I got Google sheets open so so we don't know we don't know what's going on with Iowa we do. I know what's going on with the impeachment proceedings and the feklisov senators not no surprises Heartening to To Watch it all unfold like this I will say here's the silver lining in this and this is what I was hoping for. Swing left's website had completely blew up at those centers took that vote in some cases. Twenty Twenty Times normal traffic on the website in twenty four hours we raised Over a hundred and ten thousand dollars for the Senate Fund Great. This is the best news. I've heard no. It really is a people. ACTIVISTS WANNA volunteer. We've had all kinds of sign up People understand and here was a clear cut. Case of how important it is that we saw Senate important I- arguably as we've not more important than caboodle. Because I feel like yeah definitely. You need to have a stopgap right. That's going to be it. So let's get the Senate back the other great news about this is it's a good reminder that just because he's probably going to get acquitted in the Senate most definitely will. It is an award for us like it's still going to mobilize people are still going to be able to take action in response to that. So yeah so please continue to go to swing left dot org and donate money to the Senate Fund adopt a Senate state last week. We're talking about Iowa because it was Iowa Iowa caucuses. I guess it still is but we didn't want to get rid of Joni Ernst. They're really time. Yeah so we have a big senate seat there. I'm very inspired by that news. I really am are. y'All know no watch the state of the Union tonight. I can't I into him talk so that would be against my doctor's orders seriously I I I have a well while ago like three years ago ago decided that I could not I could not watch the man So I made a deal with myself that I would just read transcripts of his speeches which was even more annoying. Because I might does no one see that. This man is a complete idiot. He can't form sentences. My one eyed English bulldog could give better speech than this guy so I don't want anything that he is. He makes my blood pressure. Yeah go walk walkers I mean I I every once in a while. Obviously you have to kind of see what's happening and check in out. I mean I do more reading than I do watching the my husband is addicted to CNN. So it's kind of on all the time so I mean I'm like upstairs meditating in a here like the downstairs the sounds of hell and owner. I think that reading the transcripts conscript's is a smart way around because we still want to know keep track of what he's saying but not giving him the eyeballs. I think probably probably driving a little crazy So Bill Maher did a fake campaign AD. I hear that's really awesome. It's it's yeah it's all this compilation of him. AM slurring his words and not being able to talk and it's pretty sophomoric you know it's like there's so much office severity Ray. I mean these obviously are dire times and to devolve into like he slurs his words when he speaks I would rather focus on you know. He's keeping kids and families in cages. Having said that I got a chuckle. Will we all need a good laugh but we try to laugh as much as we can end up on our podcast too. Because you know you've got to keep it like because you know you got a lot for you cry and the podcast is so cool because there is this great Hollywood. DC.

"I would imagine so. But that's him so on the nose and also this parietal lobe thing has been hanging out for twenty twenty years like what's a few more years right. Yeah that's again. We don't know even the doctor was like well. It could be one of a few things so it still seems fairly benign. It's interesting that got brought up. Maybe it goes to medically with this idea of a lot of obstacles standing EPA cards way to go through things the conventional methods so he has a sort of a sidestep things of like despite me having disease despite starts fleet not necessarily approving what I do. I'm still going to go through through with my mission so I can imagine it's just like a a little thing that we're going to take with their own little parietal lobe defect. That's going to be living with Picard. Not Not necessarily manifest itself for a long time coming but like you said it it got brought up but maybe the fact that they weren't saying as long as maybe we thought is is also a representation of the fact that maybe this is something we won't vote on for very long either and it might just come back to bite him somewhere very very far down the line right. I think they're just is planning a seed and how long it takes that seed to sprout into anything meaningful is really anybody's guess. It could be like five seasons down wine right right exactly and then that's it and in that case also I think the writers have also given themselves like nice out as well right to be like well then cards on this mission and then he's he's going to. You know the one thing that it could still do besides killing him. Is You know. If it's a slow onset maybe in the middle of a very very important mission picard starts to have a delusion or a confusion and that leads to yet another crew member dying which you know when Japan namedrop some of the T and G CAST members cars adamant to be like. I don't want them coming because I know they're going to put their lives on the line for me and I don't want that again and so if that does end up happening again again I can't imagine how further broken this guy is going to be is is picard this series really prepared to bring back a beloved. TNG CAST member number just to kill them off. Well I mean. We didn't talk about this last week. But just as you follow the whole online discourse about the freak out over George possibly possibly being dead before this episode. Why didn't please fill me in? Okay so this actually ties back to the countdown comic book because as part of building the Romulus Elon Fleet. All those years back card actually enlisted the help of Geordie an last time we saw George he was actually I think on Mars Utopia plenty station Station helping construct the fleet true to his engineer nature and when they said that like the entire planet basically exploded you know the atmosphere's miss fears on fire. It burnt a lot of fear in a lot of trekkies of. Oh my God wait. Jordi could have been on that planet. You know wait degeorge just die. Why in the Mars attack? But I think looking back on things that seem to not be the case I think it picard would not have been so fixated on data if Jordan had died as well I think he it would have been much more depressed about the attack on Mars than just the effects it had on the Rhine Millan evacuation if indeed one of his closest friends died and also this week Chaban actually mention engine Jordi by name and I think he's from what it seems like he's a more of the soften good cop to Lara's bad cop you don't think he would rub it in pre cards face by mentioning one of his dead a former crew members so I think it's safe to say Jordan is alive and well yeah I I would not be surprised to see him make an appearance if not the season the next season for shore like baby right after Whoopie Goldberg does yeah though it is interesting again you know when Picard was sort of looking at information for data you think he would contact him would you not not only only was he the chief engineer that worked a lot with data but he was also one of data's best friends yeah I mean who knows more about data than jury right so maybe we'll see that some time as well again. We're speculating about this. Before the season that maybe some of these people that were still affiliated with the Federation had to sort of keep away arms-length especially if he did really serve scorch the the earth and Romulus on the way out. But Yeah I guess you know much like dodge did not call so jeep. Some of these people are electing to elite people off their contact lists when they're running around trying to figure out exactly what's going on. Yeah I mean who who can tell why we haven't heard from Jordi. Maybe he's like five people people down on the on the iphone favorite list. Yeah exactly like you're you have people on speed dial and look. The card had so many crew members that somebody's going to be left off of that natural my space. Top trump eight base my space top eight and space so topical exactly so topical okay mic. I jumped around quite a lot here and we were. We were doing that. Non Linear thing that we saw a car doing as he was going through. Dodges apartment But we were doing it far less skillfully. I'm trying to think of what else we need to talk about. Their also. Another Great Easter egg was designed reading this. This facility has gone five thousand eight hundred forty three days without an assimilation. Yes I wanNA talk about that. 'cause we actually got a question about that from just Joe and you know you think initially elite that. Oh Yeah. That's a fun little. You Know Fun Little Call to like. Oh this is just like any workplace except it's not but if you do the calculation so five thousand as an eight hundred forty three days is a little bit over sixteen years and I guess if you calculate it out you can sort of figure out I guess either when the Borg Cube was claimed aimed or when the last simulation happen which I'm not on the up and up with my voyager time line just but I wonder how much that times out with the whole virus thing. That's interesting I I would like someone to plot that out for me because now now I really want to know that makes a lot of sense then because yeah because that. We don't know exactly exactly what happened to the Borg and I have to assume that that ties in somehow right so we can either be that. Yes the virus did work but maybe this is like like a remnant cube that got cut off and just happened to be drifting in space when the rhyme elands picked it up or maybe Jane ways attack did not work against the Board Queen as much as she thought she did and they were sort of like little sprouts here and there. That's still might have been existing by the time this Cuba's claimed yeah it's hard to tell. I think I think it's also interesting that we got the safety briefing of if your badge turns green start running because they have in the back of their minds the possibility that maybe everybody on the ship is not dead right and at such an interesting idea to me because it's sort of like I don't know I guess it's like Jurassic Park or like as a weird lake at no in-depth zoo where essentially they're going into it's known as the grey zone where apparently gently just these members of the collective sort of wonder around and work and they're like I don't mind them there no harm like you're no harm no harm to you of your no harm to damn don't worry about the bees won't sting you but you're bad churns rain you should also went into the Romulo in Cuba got like some slow motion shots of what looks looks like people with former Borg implants working so I guess while there have been some autopsies I guess some people have been able to have their implants removed moved and like be fully assimilated back into society as humans so are we given to understand that there's like fifty seven of nine hanging out on the ship I guess that's the the case where I guess thank God for seven nine because they're able to really figure out this technology to remove everybody's implants but yeah that's what I saw. I wonder how much that's going to. Also also factor into so gee I mean who knows maybe Hughes on there and maybe that's going to be one of the speaking of people who were able to overcome being a Borg and turn back into what they wants. Were I think that'd be a really interesting counter for so. Jeez well considering how affiliated with like the psychology of what is to be a boring in part of the collective and we know ooh Jonathan. Del Arco is going to be back somehow. So that's as good a reason as any different back my other thought. Maybe the people walk around with Borg stuff is just like after after you do the Borg Surgery. You're like hey that one looks cool. Can we keep that instead of selling it and can I just wear it. Yeah exactly like Oh you can work but you know or like hey can I keep this in exchange. You have to work for us like you're almost paying off the implants that you're keeping on earth more like there's no office dress code around here. You can wear whatever we want. There's sort of trends. That brought sprouted up after we had all this stuff around right. There are no Fridays in space. Like every casual accept. Everyone else has to wear these like garish shred orange uniforms when they walk in there. Yeah that does kind of take away from that theory because I think you wear the bright red uniform just so that people can tell at a glance whether you are a you are a person who's entirely meat or if you are a person that's got some parts in you is. It's interesting because when we first saw those pictures I know there was a lot of speculation as to whether they were in prison. You know whether these were like prison jumpsuits but yeah no it turns out that there are more so like I would say has matt suits but to your point. It seems like they're more preparatory for workers and I don't think identify themselves movie also prepare themselves for the conditions of the cube as well so I mean we have really have not seen that much of a boar Q.. Besides the few times in TNG voyager. So it'll be cool to spend more time in it. Granted it's slowly becoming more and more Romulo like complete with green force fields but to see exactly what Borg Architecture looks like like down to the nitty gritty pipes. That are running through. It's.

"Do you know what I mean in terms. News of Jesus Christ of Russia in wikileaks the FBI and voter suppression and sharing fucking polling data with the Russians. The three swing states that decided the election seventy five thousand votes so but I do think unfairly people were like Oh. She was too busy with beyond saying whatever she should have been in Wisconsin. I ah that is I think you're right. We have to employ everybody including celebrities. Who every every fucking right to talk as much as everybody else? In expressing effective use of celebrity the the Obama campaign used us we went to we went to places to to sort of rally the troops. Why we didn't go to show you know what I mean? I feel like the Hillary campaign pain was like a huge concert. And like that's kind of not the point right right. The point is to knock on doors and to make the volunteers feel like Oh this actor for major crimes here ear while we're you know slugging knocking on doors these going. Hey Way to go and then I go to someplace else to do that. Also effective communicators to deliver the message and not even met one campaign surrogate. That is not crazy smart. You know so I mean that that's and they say that that really makes a difference Brinson polling the person talking to people and providing a person It's a big deal you know. All the ARC cuts dashing -cations to out you you know I mean I wasn't Detroit knocking on doors for Obama and we knocked on one door and it was a an older African American guy and we came with a I buy her story. I'm like us there. I see here you voted for Obama. Last time you'd plan to vote again and he goes I. Yeah I don't know like May I ask you. Why goes 'cause the Gay Mary? He goes Not For that gay marriage in I swallowed hard and they thought let let me. Do I come out to this man and say well. I'm gay I so I opted for the easy way out and I said well you know just because Obama is for gay marriage. It doesn't mean he could make it the law he d- Wet. Well that's that's right. That's right he goes. We'll I'm not voting for that Mitt Romney but it's it's like wow moving on and I just give you credit for enormous cowardice and effectiveness fucking. Get it done. Yeah Yeah it was scary though. I applaud that was like take me home. One and done one vote and gentlemen it is called a Hollywood caucus her. Name's not Lisa. Her name is Tara Boom Lisa. That's that's an old song. I'm at Lisa my name. Is Julie Her name Amos Terra get worse carson. Oh my God I got it right now. I don't like my name. Yeah seeing it's interesting. Yeah Okay I podcast. I bet is fascinating yesterday. It was actually. It was a lot of fun. I had a pretty silly that sooner funny. I mean we're usually drunk. Well yeah welcome to Stephanie. Miller's dealers happy hour right you have to. You can't talk about politics but we have been fucking hammered for a few. I've listened to a couple of hammered ones. And I I doug he was. He was jealous when he was raised. My fucking cocktail. I don't care that's nine. Am and Moses are a morning drink. Aren't they fun. Make I would bartending artistic drinks for guess about East meets. Meet the press into your podcast sometime. I looked up out of Mike. Mike God so the our studio has an actual bar now the back. It's Arkansas Burns studios that do Rick and Morty so they whole setup there is a part of it so oh Malcolm Nance was very late because I don't use probably killing. You Know Baghdadi Daddy or something. I don't know he just was some excuse why it was late but we got what almost like. What was it like a forty five minute head start drinking.

"Out of Syria the giant the trail to the Kurds in the don't give to bomb putting yeah yeah this is pulling a pain in the Middle East so there will be another war for gas distract with yes okay stop yeah if you put masks okay anyway what yeah there's a lot there's a lot of news right there's and he is it is possible to melt down even further good lord I was trying to call it down for this weekend but I didn't miss anything including Chuck all going a spine yeah that was because it we've been having an ongoing discussion on the show on everybody's personal stress and on top of from stress okay but this weekend is what you need to hold the people close to you that you love right behind when you can choose because I don't be cruel right give people the benefit of the doubt because so set yes Saturday Saturday so Ron my business partner from New York was flying out we like to make fun of right however as I mentioned on the show previously bond lost his fourteen year old son and his wife out years ago so he literally landed at LAX and found out that his son had been a motorcycle crash I was on the way to the emergency room thank god he was okay because I will have to get on the plane and turn around so then obviously everyone's like this is the best party ever we what about a hundred and twenty people here arms great amazing death is any good Judy to know it all yeah just amazing that power resistor Jonathan del arco right yes and tastic there's a cast of thousands so but anyway great party at the end of the evening Jane Wagner I lily Tomlin's wife fell leaving the party we had an ambulance and I tell you I spent a night and day because he you guys know this cause you matter yes the nicest human my right now the the kindest warmest him when I've ever met I met her for the first time on Saturday night how did you really yeah I know that's the first time I've ever met her oh my god what is she said when she saw you every time I see her she will first of all she's okay yeah I hope you'll get everybody knows it wouldn't be okay I mean when I talk about the phone usage she really liked grabs your alarm looks you in the online it's as you don't know how important it is that what you do like she is every time she sees me she grabbed me and says you are so important yeah but it is not clearly it's not true that's not my point she believes it so passionately she is the what was most supportive in the warm is yeah I mean just absolutely I told her at the party before so I said do you do I save your messages on my cell phone when I'm feeling bad about myself I play them because she just leave these messages that you're just like you know starting in like nineteen eighty eight in New York she flicked will was always a Jane wants to tell you something doing some version because you are the best writer I just want a little is that their mailing me twenty something me I so what like Jane won a Tony for writing yes all in the family like you've played the message for us six times but anyway lifelong friends and mentors and at lily in obviously just so I I was distraught beyond myself you know that that time so she fell face first at the nasty you know on our poor habits so she went to the emergency room we didn't know she was kept overnight for observation and you know yesterday half the day I'm terrified that I'm like oh my god anyway and finally news I'm testing with you know they're good friends and in that finally Texan me but so no fractures no concussion just scraped up and bruised arm and here's the here's the moral of the story concerned about me mostly concerned about me and that she ruin the party ocean now so Willie to I mean I'm already crying it was expedient I I just was like what no like I said mother knows everybody does she so beloved everybody was just concerned yeah and that's that's the kind of we need more humans like that on the planet in trumps America don't we in fact that she literally was worried that I was worried and worried that should ruin the part and like all my god anyway she goes with it lose like we demand a just a private party with you know you and one other person of your choosing just before about Mike yes done said you know I I'm you are the could you have been the kindest generous yeah most generous souls to me my whole life and I just was a twenty but that was the weekend right now until I found out yesterday that and it's just we've all been dealing with a lot of stuff almost everybody I know my mom is ninety six has Alzheimer's we've lost two friends dawn Marie for our came whose yeah Susan one's good friend out of us who's usually love who we did the happiest CS eleven happy hour with she isn't really see higher on the dance really holding each other's faces and crying over Suzanne yeah but just such a you know they're such good people but there's a lot that's my point Graham close those people because it we're gonna need it man this is going to get worse before it gets better and yeah I was just like worried about so much stuff and then in the meantime you know we all deal with petty stuff and people are petty and just mean and I I anyway alright I'm gonna I've.

"So yeah this I love this favourite corner was recently warned the Human Rights Campaign Barack Obama how'd that feel powerful speech by Jonathan del Arco on equality taking the road less traveled and demanding to be seen how does that it does that feel. I kinda cried a little when I when I saw it. I mean I had campaign for him. I know we're Obama. Surrogate like all the hot people were voting when my access the they were so terrific that campaign you know they and not all I can say they're not. They're not all equal in this what I call Star fuckers you know in the hottest smartest most amazing. Obama surrogates there in Washington and we were all treated equally as my point star. I was like lead a AH procedural yeah and care. We're all together like we're a team of artists that we're knocking on doors and were included in in in the family and they're just a class act. Mamas are just sucked yeah so she'll cry now. Cry Class Act. Let's let's go through through that. Because how do you path is so interesting so hey you were born in the country. I can't pronounce exactly what do I. I heard the speech going. Fuck that up tomorrow night okay did they call it a gay too because it's so from me to you put gas in but so you New York City. This is so amazing graduating from high school. You got an torch song trilogy. Aja like right away. I was a hustler. I was out there. I had my I started wanted to be an actor around sixteen. Yeah and my parents were very they're like do whatever you want so I would take the train into the city to study and then I would. I would try to go see Broadway shows when I could afford it find a cheap ticket and I saw torch song. I saw Brighton Beach Memoirs which were the two roles and had shows that rolls for me and so I would go to the box office and drop off my head shot and just like random got an audition for it and got the job and do Harvey firestone coming in your dressing. Oh my God harvey so funny and he used to come in and say hey. Hey Kid you gay yet. We like not funny out yet. Noah's now so I hear I was touring with this amazing gay playing and we were having these sold out houses people would like the gay community in Philadelphia bought out the entire theater and showered us with rose. I mean it was over the top like major drag. Queen Win Situation Rupaul situation of very elaborate a very elaborately and I was still not out because I was well frankly. I was scared because AIDS just coming out. Is this when you were with the boyfriend that had all right. I was with them right after okay. Yeah I was literally out of high school when I did Torch Song because you had this success and then you were back waiting tables right right away. Wow Yeah so okay. That's The New York though that happens all the time Yup yeah he no no I know but then so when that's when Chad Griffin called you up and ask you to work on an environmental campaign Sunday my friend Robredo so that was like I I was in. La At that I came to La after after Broadway and after Eddie past and had good success for about five years and gones had had a good body of work and then it dried up and I had literally three dollars left in my bank account and I got the job Chad but so where did that come from like where did political. It's crazy to play with Anna deavere Smith about the American presidency and I became. I got bit by the bug I was like. This is like as much fun what is being an actress yeah politics all all her work is interviewed. Bay So yeah we're working with like interviews with all these political people and so that was like my experience was having. Anna's is play and I saw I ran into her at Lawrence partying. I said literally I've worked with. I've done about three different projects with her. She's amazing yeah so that's how I met Chad and he I think he hired me on my interview skills. I was like I've never done this before but I really want to. I worked with Anna who just didn't Rob's movie and they hired me and I was great at it and so I kept doing Morgan more campaigns with them so you did then you five political camps got sucked into this whole Sutton Activism Yup so so then you talk about how that got you more so than did you out again. Because I know yeah I came out. I was like yeah shave my legs. I'M GONNA play transsexual on NIP and Tuck totally. I was at that point in my personal. Life was my strength right. I was born in the political aspect of that yeah then I didn't really care what people in the industry thought about me being looking or a lead or any of that shit you know I just Barnaby an actor and so I shared my legs and played Safia Lopez interestingly enough. I could not do now because you know there's a whole movement of actors not playing trance right which is fair. I think that makes accents so I got a chance to do that. You are on the Sopranos then. Did you get wacked. No I was a bad ass priest actually yeah. I actually gave them Shit Yeah. Oh ooh that was a tough priest fantastic. I Yeah I love that you said you weren't wasn't a character in Star Trek and now you're the really on the closer right. I'm Jay Corner near very corner gay like a computer guy where you just like move. Nobody else knows that they're doing but me a totally no time no oh time for straight and competence. Dr Morales was like the role and just like. Can we please get it together cleaning when you're explaining circuit parties to them Yeah Okay Yeah Yeah. My favorite line was my first line on that on the closer where Cura comes in then there's the old man on the table on the Gurney and she said well what he di- of in case. I don't know maybe he looked into the mere thought why bother the guy's gay got clearly. This is the section where we talk of our love for Mary McDonald. She did happy hour so major crimes obviously spin off of the closer but she she's just wonderful. Is He's amazing. This is an actress as a human. She's a deep deep person. You know there's a lot this is so much in her heart you know yeah and she puts it in her work which is just amazing and all her work charity worker acting work Yeah Yup and like most people we had an embarrassing beginning because I sat next to hurt Francis Fishers play and I was an actress to beautiful right like the hair. No it's actually it doesn't look like a normal human like an idiot. I was like Oh are you an actress to prince this too and then I suddenly like You're dance with wolves passion fish and then. I just started like fish like Toronto just blurting out like Academy Award nomination it was amazing movie Alpha Woodward Amazing ordered you call it where she's not from Uruguay aw she might be but so in addition to acting. You're not just a gay activist. Your environmental activists civil rights activist so is that where that started the environmental part with the Rob Reiner and that whole campaign with Chad or I we had there was a a plot of land a huge swath of hills up in right Let's let's Burkina's up there that they wanted to develop in Virginia heinous they wanted to develop into a community and there were all kinds of environmental the mental effects it would have happened for it and we took on a big bank and had we won. That state bought the land. It's now open space. Can you regulations or as because you know more opportunity for Fire Amazon. slow-burning people think we can go backward on this. Many issues not just climate gay rights every single thing I mean there's an Obama surrogate. It's what an amazing time. What what an amazing you know the hopeful time and you just think this backlash is worse than even an I thought it was going to be about. I kept saying during the campaign as bad as you think it's going to be. It's going to be worse. Even I could not have imagined this whole shit show crazy yeah. I feel like massive. Nelson's is a play you know yeah I think like when you come trying to like not not be motionless allies like how doing it right and like there were a lot of elements like I feel like those rallies repeats words over and over again and that's actually the the basics of hypnosis yeah different each of the same thing I mean. It's the same that's why he did. He ties them gum and of course if base interests and then there's based interest interest yeah gut instinct on about the other about sort of exact horrible immigrants and right Blah Blah right but you told me that that's one that actually won the tweets that you read on the air was you you talked about your family coming here as immigrants and needing assistance when we were on welfare and we are on food stamps and I think we were a great investment. You were super good Hold please. I feel the need to testify about flexitime again. You know why because it is the most of all of my products really yeah yes the thieves. Everybody's plex derm hiking. We have a flex during party yeah well. Why don't we fill your swimming. "I mean this was I've been banging off ages and all of the marketing today has been quite vineyard based Komo. We've had images of vines have been standing in a vineyard with a dog. We haven't had anything wine labels. We've had wine labels. I mean Christ and then this gave you the ball gave you Romulus gave you seven of nine gave you data take all my goal. There was so much going on here and they haven't laid out what this is about but it seems to be that something has happened to be Card Admiral Picard to game to leave starfleet ten years ago now. It seems to tally out with something that loan me more says in start at the film about the destruction of Romulus seems to be the demise of the Romulo Empire lying about the rescue effort in handwriting he's paw that rescue effort and something about that causes him to hand in his commission and basically go back to making wine he meets a young woman he seems to have some sort of portentous heritage virtues the destroyer at one point and he puts together a motley crew of people including including Motley crue and try to both things you want and the Caribbean to price sticker Dixon Britos okay anyway. It's interesting to hear so you see there's a board Cuban. This seven of nine makes an appearance looking like he's grown as a character. Since the end of voyager seven nine picard she has she's nights with <hes> with John Wayne Germany's because she them at a dinner party big shock okay <hes> yeah so she goes to see him. There's also what looks like some sort of as a penal colony and there's a sign that says it's been five thousand plus days since in the simulation so is that in a ball cube of a bog prisoners. It seems to be bog related so there seems to be a lot more action. Cube seems to be being worked on yeah. Let's make clear when this was a blue light in it not grandmas. You wonder whether it's an old keeps so this seems to be the I think what's most exciting about this. Is We've not played in this time line. Since it's been twenty s nemesis and we've not done star trek things but we've never found out what happened post nemesis. We never seen what happens to the universe. It's down to the Post Mrs. Everyone just kind of just call nine ended voyage ended next time ended releasing start and then Murtala grounds which is exactly and I fast I seen a war what is the state of the Romulo Empire after Romulus know what happened to the bog post I contact all and post the finale avoid. There's lots of exciting things that I want to know and also just seeing Captain Picard become because again admiral whichever and seeing him talk today at that just destroyed me. I'm just like Oh my God. I didn't know how much I needed this back in my life. I need it back in my life. It was confirmed that <hes> we will see writer in Troy. Jonathan del Arco all COE is in this and he played hugh in Augsburg Germany this and descent and he was kind of self-aware bog it gets released to the collective now he was on the panel and he's in it. We don't know if he's reprising that all they can assume he is and there is a kind of naked man in the trailer. It looks like you said implants removed. I thought my been him. I couldn't tell just because still have part of Likud ass- still in him does he still have carries the emotional baggage implants for example if they were to come with the old unfinished Borg vessel now you'd be able to pilot. I don't think so though he here's the Balk in first contact at the beginning he hears them when they when they converge he does hear them coming so there's something just throwing in a post Alice krieg world like the Borger Gaulle not quite what they were exciting times though very exciting despite Akiva Goldman's presence exciting times despite that twenty twenty yeah early twenty twenty early twenty twenty. This is the new June for me. I'm moved on from genus all about because now wow I'm telling you say oh Christ all excitement for the card is now gone out the window but they're very very cloudy..
