"Win. Chris paul debit book or do for games with shoot better than forty percent from the field. 'cause they haven't shot the ball particularly well chris. Paul nineteen sixty and they've lost two or three games escape. Look we bought us that. My research joining ashes on it. Would you book cover in fourteen playoff game. Did you know fifteen points with his career. High you leave you. Go replicate delegating. He'll get another career. I don't believe that you don't believe that I feel good about back. I feel good about chris. I put three cases but the elephant in the room. The other not a better team without chris paul but they're fifteen points higher office rating with him off the court the court and you mentioned when he was out you look at it and push the pace Look at here. When he's on the court they slowed down and he's allowed the clippers to sit there. Deepens pushed up on. Get the ball in transition. Let d e The issue supreme. Game you what ball pray. Give me tomorrow. Becky phoebe down here on this block. He's starting to be a pain in your. You know why. Why did cameron johnson needs to. Because he could play defense just as bad if jae crowder and mikhail bridges. But he going to give you more pensive. I would agree with cameron johnson. You get by twenty twenty five minutes watching so shannon sharpe and chris broussard an even bigger elephant in the room. That i don't know silly me. I'm noticing that you two aren't. Would i think even without kawhi leonard and without zoo bots and without even sergio bacha. I just think the clippers are still a little better than the sons and they keep proving it game after game after game scoring differential so far through the five games. The clippers are plus seventeen through the five games over the phoenix suns. So when they win they win. Much more convincingly than the sons do and when they lose the clippers they don't lose by much haven't been blown out one time in this hole playoff run and they are now up to a record. Seven games that they have won when trailing in playoff series. No one's ever done that before so to me i. It's not about pressure because the truth is the pressure is still on the phoenix suns. The truth is the greatest pressure is not on paul george. It's on chris paul the third because he's never been to a finals in his career and we're getting toward the end of his career blown couple of three one leads already so nail the specter of another blown three one lead is got to start eating at him and he is now over his last two games over nine from three two for sixteen in the three games. He has played in this series from three. So i'm looking like the clippers have to be feel a little better about themselves and their plight because they love this plight. This is all they've ever done. Nobody would ever come back from. Oh two down in consecutive ploughs. Here is there he did that. So what's three one down to them. They are at their best when they're at their worst and they are obviously up against it now. Game five game. Six and game seven. But i don't think they feel any pressure. The pressure was on the clippers. Only once in this series and it was game four at home. Because if you want to do it conventionally you need to even the series at to all once. They didn't do that. It's like well here. We go again and lucid. Yeah it's very doable. And i think they bought it because they know they are a little better than the phoenix suns for serve need to do. They need to get them to the fourth quarter and let it be a back and forth ballgame. You look at the to ball games that they won. The game weren't close in the fourth quarter. Yeah chris paul game the third but then they they took. It didn't look back. Get them get them to the board quarrel. They got it to ninety eight ninety four last night. I wanted to be a bucket bucket. I make what i go ahead. You make a bucket you go here. I wanted to go tit for tat okay. But it looked like it was gonna be tit for tat in the third quarter when they suddenly jumped up. Sixty two to sixty one. You want to talk about our short live lead. That that one point lead lasted seconds. And then that was it for the rest of the night. You feel. You've talking points in the paint. Last night critic crossed fifty eight thirty two the time off theories what happened. Where was the dominators. They call deondraye. You know where. I don't know if he was guarded by marcus morris in but we call it about fit called him out calling him out. I don't know where he was dead. I didn't know where he was. A couple of times gives the lakers. Okay what happened what. She issued a subpoena the chris paul beatty okay. You want chris ball game. You want him to be replaced to push the ball. That was what i needed to. I needed to push the ball. Shannon sharpe is campaigning for painting for campaign to replace correspondent. Starting lineup this bit cam johnson. Starting land yeah go ahead. Chris is an interesting thing. I mean you hit on the head. Skip the pressure is on chris. Paul i mean he's gotten a ton of praise. Well deserved this year. Somebody was the mvp because he wanted what he did with phoenix but they go ahead and win the first two games without without. Now's you said they've lost. What two three three two. A lost two of three with him. Here's a stat for you shannon. And you didn't you mentioned. Think aiden devon booker with chris paul on the court in this series. He's averaging eighteen points per thirty six minutes on thirty three percent shooting. Twenty nine percent from three without chris fall twenty seven points per thirty six minutes forty three percent shooting thirty six percent shooting from three so chris. Chris is not gonna push it christmas a slow player he he might be being deliberate and controlling everything a little too much. Yes for these young guys. I mean. I think he's gotta get out you right. You gotta play faster. But i don't know if that's in him will it like i've talked about how him getting to finals or winning. The championship would be a huge boost whereas legacy if they somehow lose this series band is really going to be a knock against him and he got several because he has skipped he. Has those three one. We remember in la and they lost loved the home-court by nineteen. They did so he. he's have to come through. he threw they got them young. They got them. Young lady's bridge in crowd is not that young but brands booker in aden and campaign and cam jonathan creek. They meet to run. Let them run. You saw what they did with chris paul campaign with push it push it. You re allies. Now he was unguardable paul. George couldn't guard him. We got some. We will push it push it. I got the clippers in game. Six just as. I had the clippers in game five..

chris broussard marcus morris cameron johnson two thirty six percent Chris five games Shannon sharpe Paul thirty three percent George Seven games shannon sharpe chris paul fifteen points jae crowder paul george eighteen points Twenty nine percent chris

"Linton rephrase that question in the united states. Windmill is a metal tower with a windmill. At the top of. It looks like something like he'd fall off at the feroz project it. We don't have building drive. Where do you. Where do you house the the stones they don't far as i know they don't grind things. They pump water. We don't need to. I'm pam so the only windmills. I've ever seen in my entire life in the united states and hundreds of them are all so when i see something like that. I think holland. I don't think britain. I think holland because that's got that sort of. I dunno some reason. I associate with holland so when you see jonathan creek you go. That's a unique place to live. But i mean if they're all over the place maybe it's not so you can do. They're not they're not all the same. Then all the same you get paul mills and talent meals so essentially it depends on which part of the you your your sweeps have to face the wind. And so they have to rotate be the same as your your metal things. And so the difference is how much of the windmill rotates and it could just be. The topic rotates wanna tannehill or it could be that essentially the whole windmill rotates on a on a fixed poll Obviously then we did not go different different types of of mail different designs of each type of meal. But yeah whether it is. Jonathan creeks actual windmill. Don didn't think it looked like it. But you know. I just kind of soom. There was only one that they would use for location footage. But the inside. It just made me think this is a. This is a kind of eccentric english. Avengers lands hyper locations. Us know announcing benches. they did up. See you when i check that one did turn out to be the new avengers of new ventures. It was house of cards. So maybe not quite the avengers. But it's not. It's not style thing it's not. It's not notion of being innovative unusual kind of building. Let's blackmail and remote control their outline from office or somewhere house. Let's be in some kind of real iconic eccentric british show. Yeah there's there's once again. No doubt that that is it does have a it does have a very british feel to this. See that's what the avengers has. But of course perhaps british field is defined by the avengers to america. It's hard to say it's a type of type of english this that doesn't exist but say it isn't so well i mean just in the same way that the world of pg woodhouse susan kind of time in the english nece that doesn't exist never date but not not that's partly why windings things knowing. Up in the first place but actually kind of longevity because they don't date not actually being located in real time in the first place is an interesting thought is that this one is going to date. This show will date well. It can't help century on. And i'm still. Yeah.

"People the deadline that can come in and And prove their worth and You know be a big piece to the puzzle so moving onto game to the kings wind up winning this one three two overtime same scores first game but with a different result we get another goal. From Freddie Modine and Andrzej Cope Atar scores in overtime to give the kings a a one. One tie heading back home. I think copay targets a rebound Off to the left of Longo Might have been might have been on a Jack. Johnson shot and It's a power play goal of Vancouver got caught for too many men in the ice overtime. Ouch and the Kings made them pay. So so now you've gone into Vancouver and You've earned a split and you're heading home for games three and four and shrunk that shot differential as well still getting outshot but The rather actually no. I think I have that backwards. Kings take thirty two shots. Vancouver only twenty six and Quick solid again Th the king's power play with two more goals So Yeah The kings were given Vancouver a run for their money. So then we're GONNA game three backup staple center kings actually take a series lead. They win five to three against Vancouver. Three power-play goals this is where the power play really starts kicking in and we get we hear Michael Hansie's for the first time. Yeah he gets to power play goals. That king's power play connected Three times in their first three opportunities and Jesse I'm just looking at my my score sheet here. Drew doughty gets the king thirty one seconds into the power play on the Han Xue's power-play goal to make to one kings. He's scores Less than a minute into the power play and then the third power play goal. He scores like thirty five seconds into the power play. So you know as we were talking about earlier. It's such a lethal power play that Vancouver's trying to figure out with with Johnson. Dowdy quarterback ain't from the left and right side up high and what's carried the kings to their success early on in the series and Jonathan quake again strong performance twenty five saves on Twenty eight shots and the Kings actually chased Longo out of his net with and forgotten that Andrew Aicraft was the backup but he comes in. And you're not the only one I think even an rake. Rafts Mama Trenton. And Yeah Yeah. No the kings kings are up. Three but Ryan Smith the insurance goal midway through the third period and The kings grabbed game three. Yes they're up to to win the series and I remember being just absolutely elated at the time as a fan but of course Vancouver comes back and wins game for on Staples. Ice Six to four am lots of goals from lots of familiar names but unfortunately the kings couldn't hold on for the win. Yeah and The sedan line does it again. The twins along with Samuelsson. Henrik this time gets the game winner late in the third period. Kessler seals it with an empty net goal to more power. Play goals to the Kings They were too for the first two chances and again doughty's power play goal within thirty seconds of the powerplay starting and Brown scores about a minute in His power play goal. So yeah I mean. Certainly the The story through four games now with the series tied at two the sedan line. Getting it done for Vancouver in the king's power play being their strength and I have this sort of overly simplistic way of looking at playoff series. I try and find the games that matchup score wise and you look for that one one or two games. That where the where the imbalance is really shown. So for example. You know Devils fans would say you know to the Kings one you know the two first two games in overtime and then games four and five you know the devils one by one goal and so it was a much closer series. Knight always point to game three and go. Yeah but they won that one three to nothing and they won game six six to one so this is an alkyl. Eight goal swing in those do deciding game. You're coming out of the first four games of the series. We've got a two two tie and the total goals scored by both teams is the same. Unfortunately then in game five the canucks beat the kings seven to yeah it kind of falls apart The kings powerplay cools off. They only get one one five but Samuelsson again. A couple of goals Daniels cdn gets a goal that turned out to be the game winner They build a five one lead in in pretty much. That's it for that game. It was a game where quick was pulled after giving up the fourth. Goal the Samuelson and Eric Ayers. Berg came on in relief but Earlier three points in game pavol. Demitra the ex-king The late Pavel Dmitri with three points in the game and and Steve Bernier who Winds up being I guess somewhat of a goat a couple of years later when he's with the the New Jersey devils had a couple of goals for Vancouver in this game and Longo back to form stopping twenty four twenty six shots and as you mentioned Jonathan Creek getting chased and then of course game six. They lose four to two but Alexander. Frolov gets his first and only NHL Playoffs yeah It was the only goal in the first period. Kings had a lead And you know a key in. That game was early in the second period Again Roberto Longo as Vancouver's Guy The kings have won nothing lead and two and a half minutes into the second period. Andrzej Copa Tar hits. A post he scores. It's to nothing kings but it's still one nothing then Riots Smith has a great chance about seven minutes into the period and a big save. Bilo Ongo stays one nothing and then Vancouver gets a power play during a scores to tie the game at one so to me a pivotal game as it turned out the final game. A GAME. Six in this series. Roberto Lago was huge at the right time for Vancouver and if you look at the shots on goal Luanda makes thirty saves on thirty two shots. Quick Makes Eighteen saves on twenty one shots. I mean the kings were were giving everything they had It's back on staple center ice. It's the first elimination game in the new in the Lombardi era for the play offs. But that that connects team was just awful. Good for those two or three seasons. Yeah they were and It went right. Down to the wire it was a two game late and blender three minutes to play Danielson Dean gets the game winner And then they add an empty net goal to seal it so yeah it was A learning experience as you look back on it for a lot of those Kings that turned out to be key components to the Stanley Cup teams and You know they battled Vancouver Heart as we. We've talked about Vancouver at this time is one of the. Nhl's best teams and we heard asks fans from so many can knocks fans that would come down and attend kings games with that two or three year. Stretch from two thousand nine to two thousand twelve They would say it was actually cheaper to buy a ticket. Get a hotel room and buy my ticket to kings game than it was to go to a playoff game in Vancouver so again for two or three seasons can knocks fans were just everywhere and they were so unpopular in that team was so unpopular around the league. Yeah and and you know for those of us who travel with the team from the media side. You know we have made this observation. And I'm the only one that has made it over the years but when Vancouver was really good around this time twenty ten eleven twelve with the sabines and winning president's trophies and going to the Stanley Cup final in twenty eleven.

Kings Vancouver Roberto Longo Drew doughty Samuelsson Johnson Nhl Freddie Modine Andrzej Cope Han Xue king Michael Hansie Roberto Lago Andrzej Copa Tar Devils Ryan Smith Henrik Kessler canucks

Mondays will go back to being a fan question. A shorter episode in the ten. To fifteen minute rage Wednesdays will be our are longer form interview with an industry expert this month. We did Mondays and Wednesdays industry experts. The Athletic Director of the University of New Orleans Orleans Celia Busa who is director of ESPN. Next and Sam Ray. WHO's the manager of amateur scouting for the San Diego? Padres all in the last couple of weeks. Great interviews a lot of detail. I'm so glad that I didn't forget any of them. As I was just left listening to that off the top of my head and then this week we're going to have on Philadelphia. Eagles Eagles Director of Production Stacey Kelleher Stacey worked for a long time at Ohio state and just came to the eagles a year ago. Really Great Interview. Make sure to check that out on Wednesday ends day. Stacey has some really great insight into cover letters and what she likes to see in them also and she was at Ohio state she had fifty or sixty interns earns or volunteers who are working on their productions and she has she has a live advice for how people can stand out in that scenario I find opportunities then how to really nail them so really good stuff stuff in there so before we do our Monday fan question real talk for a second. Kobe Bryant his daughter and seven others died. Died in the helicopter crash in Calabasas California yesterday. And if you're listening to this episode six months from now you'll likely remember where you were when you heard this news. We all know it's tragic. We all hope the family can find peace in this awful time and we all have memories of Kobe from afar. But I would ask of you to listen more than you speak in times like these. Listen to those who a new him competed against him knew his family spent time with his daughter. That is how you can respect his legacy by listening listening to those who knew the real man off screen this is not a time for your heartache or to go live and discussed the Hashtag Tag Mama mentality or share the seven tips. You learned from watching Koby play ball the thousands of people that are doing this right now. We'll tell you it's their way of paying tribute away to honor those who have passed but it is not it. Is people leveraging. A tragedy edged to help build their personal brand and to me. That is gross. I did this once so I'm speaking not from a view of perfection But rather one of reflection I wrote a story after ESPN anchor. Stuart Scott passed away from cancer. I gave a bree hind the scenes. Look at how how. The sports media handles death especially in when it's one of their own. It was a really good article. There's lots of insight viewpoint not many. See and I'll I'll be honest. I kind of hated myself after I published it. Just listen. This sort of thing doesn't have to be about you all right. Let's transition Let's have a different conversation right now while the one that will help you advance your sports career. But guess that's the point of this right and that's why we're here so We're GONNA GOV my soapbox for a second and get to Jonathan from California. Hi Brian You recently spoke in my college classroom. May that's cool and I have to tell you when we have guest speakers most of the time everyone kind of tunes out but after the class when you were the speaker we were all talking about the info you shared you resonated. My question is a simple one. As part of our college curriculum. We have to do a lot of presentations in front of the class. I was wondering if you may be able able to give some tips to those of us. Who are in this situation and public? Speaking isn't our norm. Jonathan Creek question. I picked your question for many reasons reasons. One is a topic. We haven't talked about before and to you said really nice things about me which is a way to get your question asked. I'm not above flattery in in all seriousness Public speaking and presenting is a huge part of the sports industry. Not just in your college classroom if you work in sales you'll present concepts and ideas to businesses and groups if you work in marketing you'll present athletes executive staff and other stakeholders even. If you work in scouting you'll present to the director of scouting advocating for a player. Everyone needs to improve at this. No matter what your role is you will present in front of a group during your career and the more confident and charismatic. You can be in these environments the better so I'll share some of my tips and trust me. I've learned this by doing. No one ever really taught me or trained me. I just Kinda learned from from my own mistakes and this is how I would characterize what I try to accomplish. Tip Number one identify your audience beforehand. What what is their reason for being here? What's their motivation? Right when I'm speaking to a college class. I know that they are forced to be here. I know that they would probably rather be looking looking at their phone. We're flirting with the guy or girl. In the next rover in this instance by knowing my audience I know that I have to be entertaining. Not just informative in the first five minutes I have to give the audience something that makes them think. Okay this is interesting or else. I've lost them. I five minutes I got I gotta hit some button with them. I know I also need to change the tone of my voice often. We've all had a professor Besser who had a monotone voice and it loads you to sleep. I know in this instance. I have to get excited. I have some time to get serious. I have to make a strong point and I kind of have to overreact a little bit in a presentation where the audience needs convincing of your value tone and excitement and being bowled old become very important you must capture them early and then hold them with changes in tone and information and enclosed drama. We'll get into some of that stuff. But let's look at an entirely different set of circumstances if I was presenting to a group of executives. Who wants to be there? EXPECTS ME TO DELIVER VER- information. They need to succeed in their job. My style is completely different. I'm serious informative confident and rarely early feel the need to put on a performance. In in this instance the most important part of the presentation is my confidence. If I believe Steve What I'm saying they will too so start by identifying your audience and their motivation for being there. It'll help you define your role in this experience. Let's now tip number. Two goes a little bit deeper. You have to know. Your main stakeholder in every room there is one person that is the most important important why you need to know the motivation of the entire room if you hope to capture their interest you also need to know who the most important person is in the room and what they want they supersede everything else. So now you're presenting to a local business why they should buy a premium suite or you are presenting to a group trying to convince them to sponsor the new scoreboard on campus. Or you're presenting your social media strategy to the executive staff whatever. A lot of difference is as you could be presenting or you're presenting in the classroom in all these scenarios. There may be ten people in the room but there is one major decision maker. You you need to know who that person is and you need to make sure that person knows that you know there are big deal that sounded confusing but let me reiterate you need to make sure that person feels special right. You need to make sure that you're drawing more attention to them and here's how you do it youth. Oh learn what you can about them. MM In advance their style their persona. Are they serious are they fun. Do they love the community. Have they donated in the past. They have a love of sports. Are they shrewd business. People people who just like a deal know who they are and more about their background and then when you are speaking make sure your eyes is are in their direction more than everyone else's so we'll get to that in a second more detail on that but make sure as you're kind of scanning the room and you're trying to make eye contact with everybody you're you're you land in their area more often than not and don't fall for the trick where the Whoever is sitting at the head of the table is the most important person in the room they may be but they also may not be? Do you research before you enter the room So you know who they are before they sit down. Don't try to make an assumption based on where they sit number three. Don't memorize know. No your materials. There's a subtle distinction. Here you have to know your material so well you can just inherently speak about it. If you memorize a script you will fail seriously. I've seen this happened so many times. Someone memorize get nervous. They miss a word stumble over a sentence and then it's a sweaty uncomfortable nightmare when I speak. I have a rough outline of what I wanNA talk about usually just mentally but I know my material so well that every time comes out naturally literally when you know your material you speak with Austin authenticity when you memorize you seem robotic and less connected to the materials I know oh my expertise so well that when someone throws a question at me I can handle it in the moment. If I memorize an exacting script I wouldn't be able to handle a question. A- As I'm going or somebody raising their hand or making a distraction or something else happening in the room would always throw me off by knowing your materials really. Well you provide yourself flexibility and agility in the moments true story about two years ago I was set to speak at University of Arizona State University and I thought to myself you know maybe I should get a little. More organized is in these speeches. Maybe I should write a more detailed outline. Give myself more notes a bit of a script and stay on task in the first five minutes. I felt so robotic and dependent on the script that I felt like I kept looking to it that I was like this is not working. I crumpled it up and just started talking from the heart. When you're comfortable with your material you can do this number four notes notes? Everyone's different here. I don't personally use any notes. I like every classroom talked to be unique or any presentation due to be from the heart and the way I do that is his behalf a rough mental outline and then just watching and observing the audience. Talk about that a little bit too but if you are a no user and you are more comfortable having something thing in your hands or something to refer to in times of panic or disarray. Keep your notes simple. You have to make your notes in a format that you can look at them quickly and get back to talking talking. If you have to scan read and find your spot. That's five ten seconds. Feels like a lifetime to your audience if I were writing notes. I'd have five to ten ten words total right like he check internship strategy networking cover letter interviewing. That's it that's enough for forty five minutes beach if you have enough enough knowledge of your subject number five observing. The audience watched the audience at large..

K. committee on the medical effects of at pollution welcome to Newsday thank you lovely to have you in the studio this is I'm a shocking is is the word for this that even children sitting inside because aren't protected what are your thoughts well it's not surprising as in Rhode said in urban areas you can adopt these this car does of toxic pollution specially that'll city particles and toxic gases so if you're gonna drive in the middle of these roads and suck up the exhaust said from the because the vehicles in front of you it's not surprising that you're going to have be exposed to high levels of air pollution in modern because have on board and a filtration systems one motive for do they make no difference they make some difference in the most expensive because interestingly often the most polluting because will protect to some extent people inside them but this data from chappel chose episode in line with data that was presented European receber free society meeting last year and this year showing that in London taxi drivers not only are exposed to evolution the same levels of as the road spot in many cases much high level so it depends on the vehicle you have but for most vehicles globally you're gonna get exposed to public high levels of application on this letter in its trend that for these children if they carried on inhaling at that rate it would be the levels will be five times world health organization's legal limits of of inhaling this kind of pollution I mean what kind of affects combat hop on the human body so children are especially vulnerable to the effects of air pollution that long gross a suppressed so you end up with less lung function that you should do it's associated with the ammonia in very young children and new onset asked a whole range of effects which actually can have lifelong consequences and for this reason for example in the U. K. we protect children from passive cigarette smoke bottom fortunately we're not protecting children from the effects of evolution so Sheffield for far international audience would you say that is a but particularly congested city were you more with with the study done in an area where there were lots and lots of calls all you paint a picture for us such a food is in that the Midlands and it's a medium size city so it's pretty typical the cities around a many European areas London the suddenly very different has very much high density and and what tribe pollution so this is not a particularly polluted city side again it's not surprising that at these children exposed because they are at the Dow rose which have very high levels of traffic and they have they occur everywhere across the country and globally I don't know that that the the parents involved in this for us how they felt about this when they were presented with the results and they were very anxious when they because even if they were walking even if they were trying to do that bit to help reduce pollution the children were still being exposed to it well yes at the end hopefully that means that said the chef council and many councils across the U. K. will take this very seriously you mention walking I think the evidence is that if you actively transport yourself rounds at the city's using public transport walking the message here is that you probably will get exposed to much lower levels of pollution and also have the added benefits of of exercise I think this these data shows that we showed that we need to transport out children better and healthier a creek that fell in amongst all cities yes so basically getting out and walking and cycling even though it exposes you to that air pollution is still better for you in the long run absolutely and says the data from chef would suggest and also the data from at the taxi cab suggest you will you you protect yourself against this sort of concentrated pollution that you get in and many vehicles ultimately getting out of the call there is is the end game yes it is very important and also clearing away the most toxic up because of vehicles from roads and in the UK's these of the diesel vehicles professor Jonathan creek thank you for joining us from the Queen Mary university of London that's according to the out a quick reminder of the headlines in the BBC news from Turkey says it's completed preparations for a possible military operation in northern Syria warning that it could start at any time the American government has added twenty eight Chinese organizations to a trade blacklist and that's over government treatment we go Muslims in Xinjiang province and Sasson is overtaken Jupiter is the planet with the most moons of to scientists discovered another twenty moons in its orbit by.

"The research being carried out by the university of Sheffield in the north of England has found that children going to and from school in that city can inhale pollution which is the equivalent of two to three cigarettes a day using personal monitors forty five families measure the pollution as they walked bicycled or drove over a three month period and found that even being inside a call made no difference let's talk to an expert on the effects of pollution on children professor Jonathan creek is from Queen Mary university of London he was not involved in the research that has seen it and is a member of the U. K. committee on the medical effects of at pollution welcome to Newsday thank you lovely to have you in the studio this is I'm a shocking is is the word for this that even children sitting inside because aren't protected what are your thoughts well it's not surprising as in Rhode said in urban areas you can adopt these this car does of toxic pollution specially that'll city particles and toxic gases so if you're gonna drive in the middle of these roads and suck up the exhaust said from the because the vehicles in front of you it's not surprising that you're going to have be exposed to high levels of air pollution in modern because have on board and a filtration systems one motive for do they make no difference they make some difference in the most expensive because interestingly often the most polluting because will protect to some extent people inside them but this data from chappel chose episode in line with data that was presented European receber free society meeting last year and this year showing that in London taxi drivers not only are exposed to evolution the same levels of as the road spot in many cases much high level so it depends on the vehicle you have but for most vehicles globally you're gonna get exposed to public high levels of application on this letter in its trend that for these children if they carried on inhaling at that rate it would be the levels will be five times world health organization's legal limits of of inhaling this kind of pollution I mean what kind of affects combat hop on the human body so children are especially vulnerable to the effects of air pollution that long gross a suppressed so you end up with less lung function that you should do it's associated with the ammonia in very young children and new onset asked a whole range of effects which actually can have lifelong consequences and for this reason for example in the U. K. we protect children from passive cigarette smoke bottom fortunately we're not protecting children from the effects of evolution so Sheffield for far international audience would you say that is a but particularly congested city were you more with with the study done in an area where there were lots and lots of calls all you paint a picture for us such a food is in that the Midlands and it's a medium size city so it's pretty typical the cities around a many European areas London the suddenly very different has very much high density and and what tribe pollution so this is not a particularly polluted city side again it's not surprising that at these children exposed because they are at the Dow rose which have very high levels of traffic and they have they occur everywhere across the country and globally I don't know that that the the parents involved in this for us how they felt about this when they were presented with the results and they were very anxious when they because even if they were walking even if they were trying to do that bit to help reduce pollution the children were still being exposed to it well yes at the end hopefully that means that said the chef council and many councils across the U. K. will take this very seriously you mention walking I think the evidence is that if you actively transport yourself rounds at the city's using public transport walking the message here is that you probably will get exposed to much lower levels of pollution and also have the added benefits of of exercise I think this these data shows that we showed that we need to transport out children better and healthier a creek that fell in amongst all cities yes so basically getting out and walking and cycling even though it exposes you to that air pollution is still better for you in the long run absolutely and says the data from chef would suggest and also the data from at the taxi cab suggest you will you you protect yourself against this sort of concentrated pollution that you get in and many vehicles ultimately getting out of the call there is is the end game yes it is very important and also clearing away the most toxic up because of vehicles from roads and in the UK's these of the diesel vehicles professor Jonathan creek thank you for joining us from the Queen Mary

"The screens where they looking what did they lock where did they jump out doesn't work if we re target some you know it's all the doubters more enriched so our understanding of what's going on interviews morning and had a tree get them to act is a lot richer than we've ever had before say if we look they branded videos like red bull there isn't assume knowledge about what you're gonna get so if i even just by mentioning a red bull vdi yeah you're already gonna have in your mind a picture of what it's gonna be locked it's gonna be extreme stream if you're into marta box is probably gonna be marta box because you cheapen facebook's notice you're into motorbike says i'll send you the red bull motorbike add the red bull modified vdi if you're into skydiving jumps into the sky dogging one i mean that's where we getting now so they know that they're just gonna be relevant to that person so relevant the feis book than uses the filter bubble affect i'm not sure do you know about the filter bubble effective had better yeah bank robber the before the audience are seeking correct yeah you can correct me well obviously what happens with facebook and anyone who's listening just take a moment and think about this everyone in facebook's audience chief icicle sickly similar to you yeah you were bad a similar age you propaganda similar lost milestones stein's you know when one person gets married usually out in the next twelve months another ten get married you have a baby then all of a sudden you get all the baby spam i mean that's how the internet now works so the market is who creating content then put money behind it you only need to land at least one person and get them to share it and it stops the bottle sokoll in that sharing action that that's gonna be that's critical right so you know are are made lots of videos they get thoughts like sopping quiet successful making videos here's the get comments but i've never really created a video they get shed and i'd love to i mean this is totally selfridge's made using you out again i'm hoping everyone else appreciates it as well how do you get the shale 'cause i mean i could get a live interview and get quick comment how do you get the shasta the borrow based stops yeah this is the trip because there were five steps to borrow sokoll end the first for a simply berries you have to pass to get someone to take action so so it's almost like a test point if you if you're not relevant you get past stage one yeah if you if you don't open a story luke you don't get past stage to and so on the stage is the physical response reaction now the best way to think about viral sharing or getting someone to treat sharing is just think about when you go to the movies now i'm sure amongst your audience there'll be people when i asked this question the put up their hand and there'll be some who died who aligned to us who here has ever cried at the movies hopefully everyone gotten emotional intelligence high after a crowded crowded at some point that's my hands going up across the movies all the time now here's the thing if a movie could make you cry at video it could make you share because it's the similar at the same switch in the brain the trick is sharing it's just a different physical response now we hollywood's really good is that they're good at giving you the feels walt disney he famously said that he wants kids to cry as much as i laugh when i watch these movies now the reason he does that is because he wants to file old different parts of the brain and get them addicted to disney that's what they do that's a sign went viral videos but rather than getting someone to cry you want them to share and that's what's called a heating these these disney movies at all i grew up in these of like the jungle book called bambi or whatever it is those deaths of parents and things in line king that's that's critical had i get people to just share or get people to talk about it afterwards because remember back then the internet would math and viral videos really what we say is it's just a mimicking of word of mouth it's almost at ego driven in a sense is that you know when i worked in tv news you'd walk in the next morning and the first thing that would happen is everyone would be sitting around and talking about the best story from the north before oh my god did you see this or did you say that oh did you see what he did there what she did that she that was a really good at it that's what i talk about and so you know i became really fascinated with hack on ebay the one they're always talking about and so i look to borrow videos all looked at you know kids who using their dad's handicap aims to get a million views news versus me using experts and tens of thousands of dollars in budget every story saying well heck on they getting bit heck and they're doing better the what is it such a bad extracting that almost water cooler talk intendant allows this to say he shed instantly say my facebook feed if anything pops up to two styles on the god the shares it like i get it first share and now after tom and repeated process and actions and habits i am now basically the star wars listening post amongst my audience so i thought post anything with star wars i get more of a response because that's what people come will follow me and so you could do that with a brand as well so you become right so i'm still i'm still kind of get my head around that emotional that link soon you said it wasn't emotional response that's a physical response had so that's the thing that says i wanna share it but i guess my question is why do i wanna share it what's what's what's in it for me sharing is it about trying to make myself into i dunno here why why do i wanna share it is there something psychological that it makes me or click the button there is there's a lot of different things at play so it can be it can be relevant sick and be like you know that someone's in native something in you found owned the thing that they made or possible answer for that so you share it to them and we see that a lot when people leave tagged with names yeah well you sound feis what were they just tack someone's name that's about high on either help you and you're almost as individually gaining points with that friend because your wife's contributing to their life and it's sort of like doing the messiah by the way is houston share emotions play the biggest role in it so understand emotions and i know jumping around a little bit here but i understand navarro sokoll and the why the triggers is that we've got positive emotions and we have going negative emotions but they buy very differently in the bottle cycle so if you make someone really happy astonished excited ecstatic that sort of stuff that video will shed gradually like a hill and then odile slightly but if you make people sad or angry at a spot really high and then draw up really fast so you've got a really toll pointy hill and you've got a long slow hill in terms of rates it's about the same in terms of numbers but one road rage and ones like i feel good song and so what it accede what it is draws he's defending on you content ten you might wanna drive you might wanna share a piece of content and makes you feel happy because let's say it's a kid who's there who's hearing for the first time and you might have a kid who's about the same age doesn't doesn't necessarily have to be death but it's relevant to you because imagine if your child is dead if you get those you feel bad and it's this pace just to the rod if you're hot so if you follow you left nostril down just to the right of you had that nipple went that way you feel and that's what triggers the sharing so if you could build up enough motion emotions it when they happy or sad and there's some the performed better than others but you have to get emotions to that level but six the switch and what about size happening in your videos if you're getting locks in views but you know getting shares you know why ringing emotions out enough you're not quite pushing the pain points enough to get people just say whoa this is the answer this is helping me you getting people to say oh that was good yeah real cool but they're not sharing it on so it's about low that is exactly what were off that's exactly gonna remove my pine on sending this at all my friends because all the cute office so being the person they introduced these two more sickle and solved it right and that lost that seems like that seems on one of the key elements right so you invoke some form of emotion and i'm guessing it could be human we all sorts things in that but it's the kudos for sharing it and kind of try to be nice first and basically attaching itself to that that's that's the cape it yet but you never get to the eagles beat unless you get to the emotion the strong emotional bit too so never underestimate the power of ego yeah there's a lot of play their humans and the tourists have massive egos and it drives a lot of their decision making but it's not ego is if you're what's been painted in pop culture say yeah you know the high school jock who's walking around in heinz the card all it's just happened not bringing these tomorrow will be the person that helps it's a subtle eight guy right okay that makes sense unfounded see where that comes from it is it is it is a no go up is looking king thing in the back of my mind because before you went through a list and you went oh there's five points and he said when relevance one story late to and then all the way down to five and then i'll just go to my head focused reinforced cutting like created a crazy story you framed it you gave me a list and then you've created this theory of japanese analysis where i'm like hang on their list of five and he gave me straight it's killing me so i gotta i gotta get back and just run through those five points again 'cause it's not really well and i lost you so have you seen what i did there i opened a curiosity losing and you'll be at that is a big part of it so you know if you're if you're creating videos and your start up and i'm not jumping the question well we'll get a step ceram fulfilling the white a gate attention so the biggest battles today on the internet is there's so much noise we hear it everywhere the first thing you gotta do is grab someone's attention they grab someone's attention you gotta you cheap it's all about the thumbnail it's all about how do you stand out from the crowd i you answering the question or attracting attention it's really relevant to the view that step one step two is you then have to stop letting them know you're gonna be telling the story because the brian some most selfish organ in.

"The Blackhawks get their first man a badge opportunity here. Feeling good power play eighth overall the NHL one for four the other night. Alex debrincat team-leading twelfth in that last game cockney dancer what the LA kings have done here early two for two when they're mad advantages. They saw circle to the left of quick copay targets Hayes, the drop of the puck the kings. Get it doughty behind the net. We'll carry it up the right wing side to center ice Senate across Petar over the hawk line. But he got ahead of the puck picked off by Franken at center ice. Tried to fire it across Dustin Brown. Takes the puck away wax it down ice in behind the hawk net. Stop there by Crawford for debrincat Tarik Gustafsen a four game points, nine assists. Let all any defenseman in points for the month of December to break it at center ice to Kane. Kane line to down the left wing back to the left point. Now goes to Gustafsen put the puck over to Kane against the boards near the top of the right circle hill whip it down in behind the king that destroyed Senator around for breaking into escapes along the left boards. He got it back it over to came, right? Faceoff dot closes and shoots shoulder. Save made by quick gained. Got it back right corner. Moves the puck, right point. Back down to Patrick Kane along the right wing boards. Jane holding the puck beside the circle put it out to the right point, Augusta's and walks it through the deep slot moves. Now top of the left circle that bring it back to us the cynical line. He fires that it traffic and tastes. Subtle famous may by quick with the body. Gusta Sunday slot again to Kane top of the right circle. Back to Gusta sent back to one timer quickest down with a butterfly. Jonathan creek is razor sharp here. Tonight. Her today, I should say stopping all ten Blackhawk shots here. Forty two seconds something the hawks first citgo fueling good power play. They trail the kinks factor. Came up justices. Do an extra job drying up. Everybody over the open side. And then feeding down Tatra Cain. Good. Looks good reads there. Here's the dross Rex left. Many Samoa facing off against Jeff Carter who wins the draw to the corner to Matt ROY put it behind the net over the far side of Tyler to fully drives at the link to the ice off the left corner boards hawk zone. Prince Seabrook collects the puck kicks to stick behind the net leaves it there for Duncan Keith passing up the left wing Dominik Kun at center ice with twenty seconds on the power play. Put it in over the king line and whips.
