Belichick reaches milestone as Patriots top Raiders 36-20

"Everyone is time for the bonus episode postgame recap for Vegas Nation podcast. I'm your host Heidi Fang and I'm joined with our readers writers, Ed Greenie, Adam. Hill we're going to break down what happened here in the Raiders Lost Thirty six to twenty against the New England Patriots here Gillette Stadium in Foxborough at an ir up in the press box Adam back in Vegas a from my vantage point it was. A lot of mistakes made by the raiders, which is something you can't do against the bill belichick coach team. So we're GONNA get all into that here but I I want to remind everybody that we are brought to you by Salmon Ash, indeed visa and also favor. So make sure to subscribe wherever you're listening and what was your first take on what you saw out in the field today with the raiders. You're right. They did everything you can't do and win on the road or anywhere turn the ball over three times. Once rent on. Didn't protect car when they were driving. Me fumbled the Fumble Alina Game Matter Games already overby fumbled the end zone. In the second half, they just wore down defensively I actually done the first thirty minutes be interested at him. I think thought the first thirty minutes they played. As good. A defense as they haven't a while let's be honest. Thirteen points here cam help them a lot. He wasn't any third, but they were down on the second Apple Sikhism Derek. Carr in the offense couldn't stand field. He gave up two hundred and fifty yards total rushing late Sony Michelle when expert in its players per talking, you know these of League so they were down and they just couldn't match. Match up. So a bad game they printed everything you can do and what on the road so Adam how much in fact that these running bags like just through the defense offered their game because I don't think they were looking to contain the likes of three different running backs in this one I think they prepared to contain Cam Newton? What was your thoughts on the running game? I think I was definitely a part of it and I think there was definitely adjustments made. By the Patriots coaching staff because as as ED put out for the first half of the, Patriots were able to run the ball somewhat. But I thought a it wasn't. There wasn't those explosive plays. There wasn't those big plays downfield and it was a kind of picking up some yards here. They're moving the ball effectively but not really gashing the raiders defense and then. They figured out something in the run game after halftime and I'll be interested to find out the later in the week. Interested to get the the all twenty two film comes out like Tuesday. Look a little what happened but I think just at first glance without really looking into what they were doing on the line maybe differently. They definitely started to go to some more cutback plays where they I thought really were able to take advantage of some over pursuit of the writer side in particular from Jonathan Abram, who you know, we know what he can do. In terms just flying around offensively and having people would kind of sending a message for that defense but at the same time. You can use that aggression against him and I think the Patriots kind of figure that out a little bit and it really hit him with a big plays on a place where he got into the gap, he was near the bulk area but just couldn't make up Adams exactly right and and they're going to have to here's the thing about a player John Neighbor might think they love is aggressiveness in his hitting all that he's got a swagger Jim and I. Hate to say this, but sometimes, you just have to you have to balance that it's hard to tell a guy like that. Don't play this way but Adams wait we should for resod against Christian McCaffrey, over pursues too much when you take the battling new pursue Sunny Michelle Christian McCaffrey, they're gonNA come back will go so Yeah. They just didn't play the run wellness second atoms right they adjusted and you have to give Michelle credit like I said when you go For, an average of thirteen yards of Kerry and I don't know if he's ever average per carry more than seven in a games and you also have saved in job I am. But they did they didn't play offensively were out of rhythm Waller. We'll talk about that I know atoms writing thoughts. Darren WELLM was non factor when you get a lot of good at the bill Belgium at he talked about. How good daring waller as well. Guess what he must have died because they ran every defense coverage double team run in stem and stopped him. So atom I know you you wrote about this mean, what did you hear the game to her? How they? You know bottle up there wall I thought it was a group effort I. think that's what of expected to hear from the Patriots Bill. Belichick obviously didn't go into detail about what he did. I think it was just a lot of deception what they were doing offensively disguising it and Bella check pointed out. Hey, it wasn't somebody covering him necessarily a lot of zone. We played a lot of you know bracket coverage a lot of. Men under there was a lot of different things. Defensively. On Waller but I think it was more just about the looks of they're giving up the line and never letting the raiders. No. Before the play what kind of coverage is GonNa be on Waller? Want Credit Anybody I. Think mccourty would be the one that you would like added. Say. Devin mccourty that Dinnie. Tremendous job on him but it was a little bit of everybody kind of in the mixer.

Did the Raiders contact Antonio Brown's agent before Brown apologized?

"Something i wanted to get to the bottom of was did the raiders in fact contact. Rosenhaus awesome tonio brown's agent. I've seen this kind of float around but i'm not sure that this is what happens i wanted to see if either of you know <hes> if he was contacted before we're antonio brown's apology on friday and told that the guaranteed money and his contract would be voided as it was at that point so at that point basically antonio only lebron's going in apologizing knowing that the thirty million is a hit is that something that we know was already told to him before the apology or i don't i think to <hes> the bottom line on that is that they didn't have to i mean he knows as well as anybody once they imposed that discipline. They have the right to go after it so i mean i think he's smart enough to know without having that conversation that that was what they were angling for. It was clear we talked about <hes> when we first saw these letters on wednesday basically all those letters. There's are is is a legal paper trail down the road to say here's what happened. We had we had these issues. We had to find him. This is what went on that's all. Those letters are for <hes> so i think rosenhaus kind of knew he probably explai- tube and there i'm positive on some level even though no it's illegal according to the rules of the n._f._l. Under the c._b._a. I'm positive that rosenhaus was talking to other teams and saying if this happens if the contract is voided if for run out what is the market and i'm sure he knew what it was and so like. Did he know those things. I don't. I'm sure he did was explicitly laid out by the raiders. I'm i'm not sure about how that worked but <hes> i'm sure he knew exactly what the situation was yeah so in other words. He knew the patriots were looking at him and that he could play there. Air instead of explicitly said i'm sure he knew what the market was. When you think of maybe this is like a wild theory and so. I got on tin foil hat. You're so picture that all of us but if <hes> excuse me antonio brown got to the raiders he was happy happy for a little while then started practicing with these guys right maybe gets the training camp and he's like what they're not going to be very good and then he's just decides besides you know what bleep this. I'm just going to act ugly. I'm gonna throw crap all over the walls until i'm just going to keep doing it. Even though you tell me to stop even though you tell me you know i'm gonna find you find me on posting on instagram like i'm going to now make it even bigger mess and then he knows that he enforce himself out because he knows that there's maybe a winner. That will be there for him. I think that it's not out of their own with possibility as i now take my tinfoil hat off and put my reporter reporter hat right back on that. This is something that could have happened because when it's five hours after somebody releases you that you are with defending super bowl champions. There's maybe somebody should look into that right. I mean i think i went once the further with my tin foil will happen i tweeted and it was more of a joke but <hes> as as everything in my life does it relates to seinfeld but there was there was an episode of seinfeld where the mets wanted to hire george costanza away from the yankees and they couldn't just hire him because it would be tampering and they wouldn't be able to go hire them away from team so they told him to do everything he could to get fired from the yankees. He started dragging the world series trophy around he was wearing babe ruth pants from the yankee museum. <hes> everything do get fired so that the mets would be able to hire him like in my mind. Bella check like a go create chaos out there. We need to bring you in. That's the only way we can get you and that's again a complete and total conspiracy. Uh but i like to think that it's true. Let's talk about some of the possible reaction and we can expect here from the raiders because i wanna in a hypothesize what derek carr might say about antonio brown's tweet of bumper cars meaning. He and his brother david had been doing some conversation about antonio brown. That's what i interpreted that tweet demean. I can't imagine it would mean anything else so cars generally very nice well-spoken guy in front of the media very even temperament. Do we expect any crazy reaction from him. Certainly not i mean he's a quarterback right and quarterbacks are always is going to be measured in what they say. Now i do sort of wish that we have been hearing directly from derek carr instead of through really an intermediary as his brother on n._f._l. Network right. I think especially because derek carr was in the locker room today and we were told as he came back in that he was not going to be talking and and that's fine. He certainly has that right and he's a quarterback. He speaks one time a week but i just think it would have been nice to hear directly from derek carr car <hes> since you know he had been nothing but supportive i totally respect dirk are not talking but i think that you know it just it just would have been nice to hear from the quarterback in that particular situation and he doesn't have to but he could've essentially descending out press releases. I mean through his approach. That's what he's doing in. They're not it's not it's not like they're being secretive about it. I think that's that's the one thing i'll say about this is like if it was just some secret that if it was some random person in the media and derek carr was feeding things to get it out there and not talking to the media locally but hey i'm gonna feed this to whoever you you know whatever national reporter and it's coming out saying oh source close to the team said like that would be a little bit different to me than in this case. It's basically his brother going on tv serving mrs mouthpiece and saying explicitly. I talked to derrick this morning. Here is what he said. I think they're being pretty open about it. It just it clearly rubbed antonio radio brown the wrong way and you know we saw the other day he unfolded the raiders and derek carr on instagram and then reformed the raiders but not car like that was pretty telling of where they are have a check dam sure he unveiled the raiders as well now he did. Yes yeah <hes> but you know. I think that was incredibly telling that when he did follow the raiders he did not re follow derek carr. You know i it was pretty clear that that relationship was was heading in the wrong way. Even though derek carr continued to say how close they were and how they've played well after field and here's the other thing it listen it's part of the job we understand but how many times jon gruden was asked how many times micmac was asked just how many times derek carr was asked about the distractions in about everything that's going on and how many times they basically said. You're inventing this you guys the media are inventing the story story. No no weren't by the way to the same thing to the readers out there to the fans out there like these things are not invented. There's a reason isn't that story. Lines are storylines. This was something that was going on and it was bubbling over all the time and it was distracting the team. It was bothering the team. It certainly had been an issue for a while and now it just has has reached that point where they couldn't deal with it anymore but i think it would absolutely not be surprising if it was something that tonio earlier brown was like i need to do this i need to get out and this is my way out and the other thing is it wasn't blown out of proportion either. That's the that's the phrase that like gets on my nerves a little bit. <hes> men like all these things you're saying. They were blown out of proportion. It's blown out of proportion. He's just a wide receivers blown out of proportion. Friggin von miller said that on on a conference call the other day no. It's not blown out of proportion when you're yelling at g._m. In practice right you're posting your fines on instagram. When you ask on instagram to be released win. You recorded your ahead coach with a stencil your head coach with the conversation. Put it on a two minute youtube video in a two party consent state. I don't really think any of these things are being blown out of proportion so i love what jonathan abram had to say on twitter and he put this out just about a little over an hour ago he says in today's world the worst drug there is called attention

AB reacts to fines from Raiders, has new helmet

"We have to address a couple more here. We're gonna start in with exactly what is going on in oakland oakland with antonio brown's so many things have happened. It's hard to keep track of and hard knocks being there to help the situation for the raiders in dealing with their star wide receiver and the various antics surrounding him the helmet issue has been well documented for some time for those who don't know antonio browns helmet that he has used his entire career was deemed illegal by the n._f._l. It wasn't safe enough for antonio so he decided to filed a suit saying that he wasn't enough time to adequately find a helmet. He likes to wear for the games. He filed two different grievances. Both it did not fly with the n._f._l. And he lost both of them so he has had to find a helmet he has reported to camp the newest thing being he has has been fined by mike mayock general manager for missing so much time with the team. Antonio brown has stated how upset he is about these fines being levied on on him but frankly i love antonio brown's charisma. I love the way he uses the media to help him and you got to think about the raiders in with hard knocks with everything around their team right now media wise. There's a lot of scrutiny jon gruden being signed that ten year one hundred million dollar contract trading khalil mack trading amari cooper everyone in the n._f._l. Media is trying to keep tabs on what's going on in oakland and antonio brown by taking taking so much of that media heat. He has really made it easier for guys like p._j. Hall arden key cleveland feral jonathan abrams josh jacobs all these rookies and second year players that really have some potential have not had to deal with this media blitz because antonio has been there to kinda shield them from that and on that side i think that the raiders as an organization as a fan base need to thank antonio brown for taking that heat off of their other players so they can develop and really dig into the system not having to worry about media relations however now with this new grievance hopefully it's nothing between antonio brown and mike mayock. They can just move past. It's obvious that he had to get fined for missing so much time with the

"I wish you would have addressed me first and talk to me first before it happens but it is what it is. She feels very very strongly. He added. She's not wrong. Coaches asked me to do something right now. I got to do what they asked me to do. If we have to have some discussions in the future we'll have those discussions west. What what exactly is the issue with fitzpatrick. They're not giving him the opportunity to be his true bestself. There's no bad guys here. They have many injuries at strong safety and they have a guy. They want to watch free safety bobby mccain so they're having minka big. I mean florida's comes from bellichik. You've got to play multiple. Positions is important to have versatility. It's important to have have emergent break case in case of emergency players. They're seeing if v fitzpatrick can play in the box in his opinion is i'm two hundred and five five pounds earned twenty. I'm not best suited for the buck but i'm doing this because my coaches asked me. Tune is best for the team. His mom is a little bit different. This is where like you donate to overreact to what they're doing. In the second week of training camp right. They're just they're messing around but it did get me thinking along with jonathan abrams the raiders safety who mentioned his mom. Mom is younger than tom brady. Daddy <hes> as parents are a little more social media savvy. You know whatever it's just going to become. There's gonna be more storylines like this like whoa wait bombs coming at last moms they weren't they were on the other on moms. Moms are different but this story reminds me of marcus vick when he used a tweet about michael vick would always be like have have you would have to answer. These questions and i can't imagine what the conversations like that oh man stop. It does hit me like as an age indicator when i see moms named melissa because growing up. I never knew any mom's name melissa. It was just the the girl's name of someone in your class or something something like a third grade classmate now. They're mumps it is it's gotten a lot of homs diane. There is a song from the early seventies sweet melissa which would lead melissa with your lee. The people were saying the name didn't exist us just that there weren't in my town flush with mom's name melissa is it's much more probably dying off. I feel like now a lot of melissa like the name melissa. I like it a lot but it reminds me of like a younger person than a mom but i guess moms were young so mom could be at a very young age say as a <hes>. Can we just clip. I don't wanna see them all the blinders on as an eighties lady's baby it is a little unusual now. When you see like thirty nine year old tiffany right yeah y- now world ti tiffany simple right down to the four hundred eighty six most popular girls name where's tiffany shoveling tiffany because tiffany monster a lot of that too later later on was after say by the bell of course we're tiffany up because that was a a monster in eighties. We have our own it lands on the network tiffany the song something to do with it. It's getting buried not even in the top thousands of age. I don't know if i trust those sites nights but that's fine <hes> finally in the news anything else mark about the names like are they pulling those rankings from true updated census this or is it like just their own thing. I believe it's the two thousand ten cents told finally in the news some big behind the scenes n._f._l. News the n._f._l..

"Really? So I'm looking at all the mocks and all the mocks have Jonathan Abram Mississippi State going at these safety at the bottom of the first grand somewhere in the bottom of the front around. So are you telling me that that running Harrison would be above him in the draft because Jonathan Abram ran for four five at the combine Ronnie Harrison ran four six five so just on that alone at defensive back position. I promise you he wouldn't running Harrison would not go above Jonathan Abe and who's to say these guys. A lot of these guys come because they know got his plan their position is going to lead. Yeah. Who was saying that run run Harrison starting with that? Okay. Deontay Thompson, he was first team all American who's to say that he's even starting in vain what? Because this what we know teams. What they do. They look at our home. If you're good at you say, you are why are you still going to college people? Look that's not who evaluate if you spend more than the allotted time agree. So you're gonna go back for no money risk a Marcus Lattimore situation. What if he tears up God forbid knock on wood? What if he tears up his knee, and everybody know he has no value and everybody knows kill saving grinds them. Oh, you work that it's a factory. Oh, you work two hours. You get it in. But you say, but you understand that you could get Eddie lazy and a Trent Richardson and this one into that one because they say, you know, what it's my turn Mark Ingram. He leaving. I'm coming. He leave it. I'm coming. He leave it. I'm coming. They don't want to stay coat their goal because they feel like skiffs. It is fast track. We go to Alabama or we go to one of these big schools. Yeah. That's the quickest way for us to get to our final destination. Isn't that the state? I'm not going to I'm not going to lay over on time. I'm trying to get to my destination NFL whole saving. This is a horrible. Look. This is talk. How many coaches leave sabre were they ready to leave? Oughta go do what ready to leave because we know here five lead this year, maybe to the previous year to before their coaches leave and get to go and come only the kids get penalized. Because remember they could sign a contract and a better overcome along they go. But now, they got this grad transfer rule this little better give this ridiculous. But come oh. You don't want all the championships on the backs of these do you make it nine million and the do go. He tried to make four hundred this Ronnie Harrison hashtag keep pied Dame outfield now. Yeah, that is powerful that that's one of his own who just said, no, no. I think he just lost his sideline pass to the next Auburn game or wouldn't worry about making four hundred thousand go this year what kidding column make four hundred thousand dollars. Was he could've may eighteen million. Gimme the four hundred five right now. I promise tomorrow yell, and what's the final irony of this? We're always told that coach Sabin hands on coaches the secondary. Right. And what have we seen routinely come out of his secondary overrated draft picks? Right. Yes. So we've seen some. Great. And we've seen a whole bunch of them who busted the National Football League. And that's the position that coach Sabin hands on coaches. So again, I'm happy for Ronnie Harrison he got draft. There's nothing wrong with the third round. You are seven let's give you know, what this is about what happened in that game. And they got Torchwood law through for like seven million six hundred thousand mile how many tons that happen to Saint Nick or eight Knicks. So he's upset about what? Ronnie Irani head of state what he's a busy well Minka fifth, Patrick state and all the other guys should've stayed come on come on coach. I gold and they had seven players declare early for the draft. So the most in school history skill..

"All that stuff in it it's it's gonna be fascinating uh for for guys like you and me who have been watch us a long time over the next five years to see where this goes next because if if they can create this new system where they're going to have relationships with elite players starting in their teens and then funneling them into the nba's minor league and cutting out college entirely at least for the elite prospects it's going to be really fasting to see how both college and the mba are affected by that editor complex situation that is going to need a comport complex anther but i'm just for any situation that going to have lebron james had been feminine guy who we know are going to be starred had them get into the league soon as possible and become stars as soon as possible yeah no and and amen to that and i mean it and then the guy should acknowledge this also for all the guys named earlier who weren't ready on day one obviously like lebron was the ultimate exception he was more than ready on day one and ben simmons arguably would have been ready on day one also what will will never know for certain but yeah let's at the sooner those guys get to nba teams in their programmes i think the better for everyone including for the league uh any other thoughts on this before we jumped back to the wire in your current book go to what question for you do you think anything i guess beyond a true minor league atom in the league can do to help solve the well they what are the things and win her story was interesting that they did the dmc had considered and already dismissed the idea of creating academies the way that they do in europe for soccer and basketball where you know guys to start training with a professional kind of team when they're you know twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixty and so by the time they get to professional true professional level they've already been playing quote unquote pro bowl through these academies or or training with uh with coaches who are affiliated.

"Or something and just joke around in there on the road together and they're out of their normal environment and something happens were like mcnulty kind of makes a semi explicit it kema even though he no she's lesbian and there's no chance is going to have a niger's member laughing thinking what a wonderful little window into what a screw up mcnulty's but also like the fact that nothing there's no tension about it it just sort of happens they probably laugh it off like the friendship that they were developing on a professional lajes for some reason that scene is gonna be in my head forever i can't explain why i think it probably because of mcnulty's just he doesn't give us you know in his mind he's alone in a hotel room with the woman went out at least throw it out there they also have a great scene where they're drinking together in some little like like grassy knoll kind of lace for mcnulty goes to drink by the railroad tracks and they have this conversation about dare there's various strum mcnulty's divorced obviously right and and has multiple affairs during the show or multiple women during the show and they're talking about how the challenges of explaining their jobs to you know then mcnulty's exwife and kiemas partner in like he misses you know where police when when they get together with us where police when they move in with us where police when they marry us and they still don't get the job and why are you calling more and why are you home more and i do feel like a thread a theme that runs through a lot of the sort of prestige shows now at my knowledge of prestige shows like four years at a date so the prestige shows from this era up to madman is sort of like the the.

"Activated still have have only they the kitty play the canard is in college now and it sounded like he was doing well okay good um uh we mentioned snoop i'd again i just going to give up this book is three hundred twenty pages of gold i'm just going to give a couple of examples to let you people know what's in there so snoop's famous last line is took to mike is how my hair look mike um before mike shooter and pellicano talks about writing that line and he writes it in david simon calls them and says sees the script and causes i don't i don't get it and he says pellicano says now quoting your book um what i told him was at this is someone who's never commented on her looks but she's pretty and i think she cares about it and i think it's the last thing that you would think about knowing that she's going to die is the way she looked and the way she's going to look when she's found just i just i can't imagine having a brain that looks like literally it's never mentioned on the show and he has this immagination now it's just it's unbelievable right and so for me and a friend who writer poet honey echoed here we're mostly just messing around but we're trying to write like a pilot i go back wealth drama it will never be delighted day but just even going through the exercise and trying to come up with picture on dialogue and china place myself in this world it was almost like i was huge in a different part of my brain and people who do it so regularly it just amazed me ever polikoff to have that vision where david simon i don't think he got it at first.

"It's not something in season one that they thought by the end we're going to rehabilitate bubbles it just it's it's fascinating to think about because it's so vast that you don't really conceptualize how they do it and you bring us into that was there anything in that regard like that really sort of surprised you are stuck with you about just that process i think also how the actors didn't know weektoweek or script descript where their characters are going and that frustrated a lot of the actors but david simon's whole thing was that in life we don't know where we're going to be tomorrow so he didn't want any of his actors to know or or tip their hands that's fascinating to me because i'm all about preparation rate in knowing trying to know what's next but david simon didn't do that disasters um and as you said some of them were frustrated in one of the things about the book is that like again you just watch the show is in my goal you know soandso gets killed on breaking bad or who is going to get whacked this week on the sopranos and you read these stories of the the characters finding out that they're going to be killed on the wire it and not only that other characters finding out that they're going to be the ones to kill those other characters and not only that tertiary characters who have nothing to do with that story line finding out that other characters are going to be killed and showing up to the sat to sort of memorialize the the event it's like this was real like the actor plays michael talks about young finds out that he's going to kill snoop and is like i don't think i can do this in in in your head you're like tuesday a television show but for them it was it was astonishing to me to read that it was really really emotional.

"Before shooting wallet and ed burn food that to that point they had made bullied this cycle path who wouldn't hesitate and that was a big argument for those guys on where to go with bodey um where do you fall with that i i found that to be one of the more fascinating sections in his section of the book because you i remembered thinking that they do present bodey is just too the toss ice cold guy and then they humanism human as the ends of shooting wallace haven't you how you many is but they semi humanism in that moment and i mean wallace was such as sympathetic and lovable and real character that you could imagine even someone is stonecold is bodey sort of glancing at that job but i i looked at it more you know what he watches show like this or madmen or or breaking bad or whatever that has these huge judge long story aarchs with lots and lots of characters you sort of can't imagine how the brains behind the show even begin to conceptual as it like do they know in season too that this thing is going to happen in season five how do they foreshadow it literally how do they keep all the characters straight in their heads like where are they worded we leave them what location were they in and um you take us so deepen the writer's room that you have a sense of that it at least and how this writer's room worked and like sometimes yeah they do know that um they do have an idea of how this character is going to meet his end or what's going to happen for him in season four and sometimes they have moments like that were they are presented with an event and you you think maybe like oh they had this in mind for bodey this hesitation and it it's the product of debate uh at the moment and there's a lot of stuff like that like gum sort of the um uh bubbles journey to sobriety.

"Characters in the wire so i don't blame you i don't see the need to be decided why does he punched and what what's the what's the argument about though he was trying to be a legitimate policeman basically and stay on leicester's a team when his father in law whose higher up in the chain of command wanted to give them on the fast track to becoming a lieutenant or captain there basically have him doing easy work so it just kind of boiled over for pros davis is also an among your nominees uh again an example of some of the things are gonna get in this book klay davis obviously famous for one word did he said on the show which we're gonna swear unstuck as it's unavoidable in that word was it as i can't even do do a justice but he sat in the good i i can i can do it i cannot do he tried to fit into four five philibeaux while he says it if you here's the quote if you wanna write it to me i guess you telling about an emails are scripts if you wanna write it to me use nine es f you to any more than that you're not saying it right so she has nine eased and then another actress who had to work with him followed up with his awesome in quote saying like how long are you going to do it for how long is going to last accede to know rhythmically is going to be a shoot it or is it going to stop when is it going to say it's is like the fact that you have the actor sharing scenes with klay davis who's like stressed out about i don't know how to go back and forth because i'm not sure when he's going to done be done saying the war is like that is hilarious here and that was something that uh there were uh actor you played quay david with him from doing by queen movie could be brought it to the wire and the writer started writing at an event and then he just ran with it my favorite character for the record as bodey.

"That when i read that i was i was surprised because i i didn't think there was character that for the result of a human that brother musone was based off a who else was in the running for abrams every character in the wire how can you go wrong with somebody lakeway did this uh i i'd like stenzel chick too i mean i like the the people may not jump off the ps because all these guys had worlds behind them that david simon ad burns and all those writers thought about two where these guys originally have very very small roles in then s a series continues you see their world start to expand to where that you played stenzel check he thought he was just a deep player in the first season and was probably never going to be called on again and then by the end of the show he's the police commissioner c i don't even remember stenzel checks that like that's that's what's incredible about just what time does to your memory like in like i remembered binging the show in one of my best friends in the world kristen bells remorse for fortune magazine had been a long time wired to bow to you had seen the show in real time so she was done with the show while i was watching it and we will go out for drinks and i would say to her majesty saw this seen it was really amazing like i love this little seen issues i gotta remember that like i don't even remember stayed so he becomes the police commissioner yeah at the at the end of the urgency of villa every bureaucrat is a villain he must be villainous in some way here we really political savvy knows how to play the game for credit credible father in law remember credible potter compressed presidential i do remember i don't presence punches as i don't remember that i remember principles shooting dude and becoming the teacher end and struggling with the his life in the classroom really tried to help dookie and all that but i don't remember that happening i mean curved commandeered center probably fifteen on.

"Uh that is in the book is speaking of method man i wish i had the page right now i have all these these sticky notes one of the one of the writers talks about or directors talks about meeting method man and being confused as to i call him he's in the book saying this do you do i call a method do i call him mr man i would i wish you would have actually gone owed him called him mr man this is the kind of behind the scenes detail you're going to get in in this but like i was laughing out loud on my flight back from los angeles reading that who who happy when he was saying it because he but you really properly british director and he was like really trying to figure out a way to show method matters proper space i should i asked him what he ended up going with i'm sure it was just the ladies center at that yeah what are you support you interviewed him what are you supposed to the golan i call them leptin there uh i mean that's where i know him from okay i guess that that's his name be centrally as well he goes by you call them that um so brother moves on how you got to defend that it's just that he's so um like viscerally interesting basically i mean basically in i mean if you're a character through that you've never seen before and i know you never seen omar stringer characters late step just basically a set cycle assassin who reads harper's magazine and the thing about the wire is that every character that they wrote about was sourced from real life so this was somebody at burns hit basically known through his uh career in the baltimore police department and he figured this character off of the basest character off us.
