Tweeted out that JT rail middle remains a priority for the Phillies with the new regime course Dave Dombrowski and now Sam Fold. They have an offer out to him, but with the other big free agents out there It may be a waiting game, which is what we expected, which is why The other deals, the smell and Darvish deals. You know, woke up a sleepy baseball world. Because we're not getting many of these deals. Early on. For these days. So to get that deal was a surprise to a lot of people. Uh, had to get both of them on the same day. Was a treat. But not if you're the Dodgers. Because you got Darvish and smell now. To deal with on a regular basis. John Moran got hurt tonight in a game against The Nets. Game that Memphis eventually 11 16 to 1 11 and over time. Rent and Kyrie did not play Coach's decision. Resting. Even though it was a nationally televised game, and it goes against league protocol. Which is if the game is nationally televised. You need to play your star players. But They are using the excuse of last year's injuries. To Tyree's shoulder. And to the rants Achilles. For sitting both players, so they sat both players. Meanwhile, Moran got hurt. And he is said to have an M r I. He did sit courtside afterwards. And it seems to be a severe sprain rather than any more. Than that. Right. It seems to be a severe sprain. Uh, What else do we have for you? We know Dwayne Haskins was released messy, messy situation, their former 15th pick and the 2019 draft. Second quarterback taken behind Daniel Jones in that draft and now out of work, he says, it's his fault. He vows to be a better man than a better player. We told you golf with the thumb surgery out Sunday with a broken thumb. Dabo Swinney stands by his call to rank Ohio State 11th. In the country. Controversial Obviously. But part of that Which he came out and clarified anyway. Was that he just was not interested. In ranking a team in the top 10. That had on Lee played. Six game Simple is that Interesting move to in Seattle that I wasn't aware of. Because things that started so well there for snacks, Harrison The Seahawks have waived veteran defensive tackle snacks Harrison at his request. The team announced the move Monday, one day after Harrison was a healthy scratch for the win over the Rams. Carol said on Monday. The folks that 7 10, ESPN Seattle he's done playing. He's decided to stop playing. Talked on this morning. He's in good spirits and all of that. He's really grateful for the opportunity and playing here and he did really well by us, but he's just well he's done. So just like that. It's crazy. And I don't know. You know, there seems to be more to it. So that is His decision was related to his role in Seattle. Even though Carol's comments suggest an amicable parting Uh but he also said Harrison tweeted on Monday that the plan quote The plan in quotes. Is to play for another team this year if you can work out the logistics of it. Although that is added that he's not interested in being claimed off waivers. So this is a mysterious story right now more to come. Snacks, Harrison He wrote that he wishes his time in Seattle did not have to end. But quote. It's time for both of us to move on. In another, he wrote that he didn't want to take snaps away from a young player who deserves to be out there. Um And then he wrote, What's next for me? I'm not sure I have to make sure my family is good before I do anything. They're my first priority. I'll keep you all posted so odd goings on there. With snacks. Harrison who you know Damon Harris is pretty good player. At times. And, um, you know, playing with enthusiasm. Played very well. So I don't get What happened there internally. Carol saying it's amicable and no reason not to believe him. But something smells a little odd. In that deal. We spent no time talking about the national championship in college football, which comes up on Friday. Well, the semifinals do Alabama, Notre Dame first Clemson, Ohio State second And Big spreads, especially for Alabama. No surprise there. A lot of people didn't think Notre Dame belonged, but I think many people Have Ah, Have had a hard time following college football this year. I think that covert hit college football very hard. The game's being canceled, left and right players missing games. For covert or overt protocols just took away the luster of the college football season for a lot of people. And although Trevor Laurence and Clemson drew a lot of attention There. There wasn't The normal build up that you get Two. College football season. You know, it just wasn't it didn't build the way it does throughout. It didn't have that fabric that thread that draws you to the final four. And the national championship game, and I would imagine that the ratings will reflect that. This weekend. I just don't think the game's on Friday. Will be that big a draw now, maybe with people at home, still fearing covert, as they should. You'll get a bigger audience than I Then I'm guessing right now, but I could see why it would be down quite a bit. There just hasn't been that college football buzz nationally that we're used to having. And because of that, I think that's a You know that's a big deal. Let's go to Atlanta and see what MP has to say here on CBS Sports Radio. What's up Empty? I'm going, man. How you doing tonight? All good. Yeah, I wanted to talk about the team losing money, and it's funny. I had this conversation with people all the time, and they want they'll. They're losing money. But like it's like Walmart, saying they lost money. Yeah, what people have to understand that they may lose money against their projected profit. They're not in business because they're losing money. If they were losing money, they'd be going out of it. Yeah, they like it And they'd be for sale, right? Yeah. Are they losing money against what they projected to make? Yeah, that's very possible, but they're not losing money overall. So I completely agree with what? Everything you were singing on. And you kind of have to understand economics and then how businesses operate in order to get that, but also I'm also like you. Why don't people just automatically believe that a business that in business is losing money, especially one that's so expensive to get into? It's not like anybody can. You know it's not like a hot dog stand. Not like anybody could be one. Yeah, I'm talking economics before and the thing that makes something valuable. That is rare like NFL teams NBA team because they're one of 32 or one of 30 or that's what makes them so valuable Because everybody wants to get in like that. Nobody wants it wouldn't be value. That's exactly right. It doesn't seem empty doesn't seem to be that difficult does it but People have a hard time with the concept. You're exactly right. Have a good night. Appreciate it MP in Atlanta. Setting it down and, you know, it's just You don't just own one of these teams. And if you're look every we admit that every Owner. Is financially successful. When they buy the team, right? I mean, everybody admits that every owner Just financially successful the day they buy the.

"WHO's been who's been tested positive, but as I, said I don't expect it to be one or two people. Become, pretty prevalent in our country The the fortunate thing is that? The guys are generally in excellent shape and average around twenty eight years older so and. That category has dealt well with the copay so I think that is the reason that they can even forge ahead with this that Most people almost all the people who are been in that category have been able to deal with it and and recover So that's that's certainly the hope and we're we're. We're all very hopeful that everything goes okay, but we will see a lot of cases of your. In our final moments, I want to just ask you. someone that is inside the game. You've heard so much out there that baseball Blewett. They're turning our fans. They had a chance to be I at a chance to. Have the entire sport spotlight to themselves, and now they're going to be lumped in basketball hockey soccer cetera. I mean! Do you look at it? That way were baseball is kind of this. ridiculed for about their labor. Problems never seem to get it right. Labor on the marketing on the taking advantage of the stage. Visit Harsh. I know I. Understand it at this point I. Mean I think Commissioner Manfredi optics where disaster at one point and TV interview? certainly did not look good They did actually have her piece for twenty five straight years with no work stoppages, even a day and I've been around long enough before nineteen ninety problem and ninety four, ninety five, where we would have some work stoppages ninety. Five where you had the world series, cancel that that was the big one and you know some people will never forgive baseball for that..

"And. Did you have a realistic thought that this wouldn't happen? You're in twenty twenty. Yeah, I knew they intended to play so I I know I knew they were gonNA affordable or provided that the Kobe numbers I didn't get too far out of control so I'm not surprised that we're going to try to play and I say try. Still we'll see how we do controlling the numbers You know they're not getting that much better at the moment I I am surprised that they weren't able to come to an agreement more quickly, Rob Manfred. The Commissioner has been there twenty five years before that was the go. She ate her and. been able to come to agreements whether it was don fear and t doors in charge of the players union, or whether it was Michael Weiner or Richard Bureau is leaving. And the Players Union board and the new lead negotiator is a bit of a pit bull Bruce Meyer and he came in to try to knock some heads around apparently and I you know I don't know whether it's not an agreeable fellow, but he just. In want to agree with anything that the owners were offering and I think he was the influenced. There the main influence at some of the players to I think understood that the owners had gotten some good deals recently and made a lot of money in recent years and You know they were kind of in a in a fighting mood I would've liked to seen the deal. Deal done I think it would have been better for baseball to have agreement at Labor peace to have maybe a little bit better feeling going into the CPA negotiations and not have agreements hanging over their heads, because really that's the big thing that the players got other than the sixty games. Pro Rated I agree to players should've have gotten pro-rata tail on even though I think was. Set in stone in that March twenty six agreement I think that's fair that they get pro rated tape I. I would have preferred. They figure out some other perks for them to get rather than a grievous, which doesn't really help anybody, but potentially the players. Yeah I'm going to pick up on a couple of things. You said number one I. Mean I think we're all clear? That rob Manfred who's negotiated CBA's for decades is the lead negotiator for the players for the owners, but I'm not sure a lot of people know what you just said. They just see Tony Clark. As the face in front of the players, and they assume it was his aggressive negotiating. If you will be held this up along with the honor side, but you mentioned this character. We haven't really heard a lot about so bruce. Meyer was lead negotiator and You feel like it was him more than Clark. That kind of held this up on their side. Yeah? I absolutely do in fact I think. Basically, Clark and Rob Manfred.

"Tanglewood Jana Sunday night here in the family thank Jon Heyman for coming aboard in lending some insight to the baseball situation I don't wanna be Debbie Downer I never have been in my entire life I am not so cockeyed optimist then I don't see the forest through the trees but I always do try and look at that situation from an optimistic point of view and glass half full if that's the phrase you want to use to describe it I'm having a real tough time being that guy for baseball and basically any of our sports and it is because of the third player at the table and that's the corona virus it doesn't seem like things are going to cooperate enough to get it started again within the next month any NBA the NHL and Major League Baseball all kind of really need to do just that get their sports started if they're gonna get him finished and baseball's gonna get a whole season in the NBA has got to get a handful of games hockey threw up their hands and said nope that's it we're good will allow a couple of teams were on the cusp of making the playoffs to compete for their way N. will double by in the first round two with eight teams forty two conference but the quote unquote regular season is done this is not good folks we T. curb the the curb going back up this is real bad for sports in any way shape or form and I haven't even gotten into the National Football League because it's baseball football and baseball basketball and hockey that we try to get their seasons up and going the NFL unlike baseball and hockey basketball don't need start July they need to start camps by the end of your life not the first of August and then the biggest joke about the NFL and I've been very complimentary the NFL and how they've gone about their business since the corona virus broke they've been moving forward doing what they can keeping their sport rolling electronically and Bircher Lee through the internet but at some point they actually have to get together at some point they have to join together as a team get into a locker room get out on the field and actually compete and there is no way to do so while social distancing so I had major fears about the National Football League as well I saw a bunch of days we've been kicking around over the last couple hours hour and came to continue to do so we did get off on a little bit of a Colin Kaepernick came didn't and how you handle your business during the national anthem I have you want to continue in that conversation we surely can you make the call get on my lines eight seven seven three three seven six six six six three football fans specifically you get fans many meta will join us coming up at the top of the hour about a half an hour from now now many his age I got him his props you little bit of a controversial writer not everybody loves the coverage that many have gifted cats I do I think he calls it the way he sees it I think he is a writer who's got an opinion any interjects his opinion into its columns there is some beat writers who subscribe to dragnet famous line of doing their job just the facts ma'am and that's what they give you the facts on the game and then you have opinionated beat writers like me who's not afraid to Kerry's opinion and I'm sure he's going to Kerr's opinion with us tonight again on the Jamal Adams situation to get bad you want to get out before many CAD you wanna wait till ministro arrived about a half an hour from now that's cool get to me after one but for those who want to get their point can now do so cleared out most of telephone lines eight seven seven three three seven six six six six before I put my loan caller I do wanna here with you the every statement that we've put out by Bob Wallace okay he just tuning in like me I didn't see it on TV I saw it on Twitter watch my show started and then I I've seen more of it and I did take a call on it my first hour of Bob Wallace African American NASCAR driver found a man that I knew was hanging in his garage today Wallace released this statement on the situation and I wanna ouija Bubba Wallace's statement because I think it's pretty poignant today's despicable act of racism and hatred leave me incredibly saddened and serves a painful reminder of how much further we have to go as a society and now persistent we must be in the fight against racism over the last several weeks I've been overwhelmed by the support from people across the NASCAR industry including the other drivers and team members in the garage together our sport has made a commitment to driving real change and Campani can't being campaigning a real community that is accepting and welcoming of everyone nothing is more important and we will not be deterred by you this reprehensible act and actions of those who seek to spread hate as my mother told me today they are just trying to scare you this will not break me it will not give I will not give in nor will I be back down I will continue to proudly stand for what I believe it good for Bubba Wallace and as I said to to call brought to my attention last hour I've gotta believe they've got security video if this was in Bubba Wallace's garage we're talking about multi million dollar cars being stored in a garage all the equipment necessary to picked so the cards and keep those cards are ready to race.

"They did the whole short term pain of total lockdowns right at the chokepoint. Way Back in February or March so that everyone could have a normal life again in June or July and I was saying on the podcast. Is Somebody just a week ago? We look back at our mid March when we were all getting acquainted with this thing over nineteen in Angel Hernandez our favorite umpire leaves the field and kind of snickers and says I'll see in June boys and he wasn't. Even right can be July or August you know, so. We didn't. We didn't know anything about what we should have been doing back then. It kind of I. Don't know about you I. It's a painful thing as an American to watch New Zealand comeback strong with sports this weekend. Zealand and Vietnam I'd Thailand. You know. Taiwan there are countries all over the globe that have no cases or next to no cases and here we are in. We're talking about sports. We have over one hundred fifteen thousand. Yes, that is the real tragedy of it, but you can certainly see the contrast in sports when you look at Szott Vietnam, soccer match where people are wall to wall at tens of thousands of people right on top of each other in Vietnam and here we are talking about having no fans, not really known win. Be Able to have some. Hear some talk that you know before the end of the year I. Don't think there's any guarantee of that. The numbers are moving back up again my Florina in. California to some degree Arizona. Texas a lot of the places where. It's hot and people said that the heat was gonNA help solve this issue and I think. With all of the brilliant scientists we have It's a little bit surprising at our response. Is Not been as great as so many other countries smaller countries with less resources and fewer great scientists. It's it's it's really sad. The main issue is the health of the hundred thousand plus debts and the two million cases. It's just a very very sad thing, so we're in sports is on the back burner compared to that, but it's another another negative that's occurring in this country. Let me end with you John. If you don't mind them, grasping at straws for a positive I feel like this is a Downer podcast of all time, but right smoke. US It's it's I. Don't know, but you know and again we're we're. We're looking for rays of sunshine where we can i. mean out of all the George Floyd stuff that really should have our attention we find. People that are able to change their own minds, and hopefully other people's minds, and I mean so what we're again I call looking for the shiny stuff and the rubble. Right I mean you somewhere in. There is something of value so. I'm going to put that to you in a baseball sense. What are you looking forward to? What comes out of this rubble if it is a fifty game season? Is it the fact that maybe the players will be miked up just because they think it's cool. I mean there's going to be universal. The age comes in now I. Mean What we've got a chance to experiment with some things kind of like how we've all learned that we really can work at home if we need to got to invest in Zoom, but okay, we figured out how to do it. So what excites you about? What's ahead of us here? Assuming we play ball? First of all I would say that baseball fans are very resilient. knocked on the head here. The ones who are following that even more They're gonNA come back and be fans again..

Come back, so I'm not set taking the orders side, but. Like, the players may have gambled here, so let me know if you don't mind John and a little time. We left to me. There are issues that are so bigger so bigger than baseball right now. We almost forget about Cova nineteen, which is crazy because we're all immersed now. In a very important matter, which is basically black lives matter, and as it pertains to the red. Sox specifically I like the fact that Sam Kennedy came out and the Red Sox came out with a statement. Basically saying we need to be better. We did hear of racist incidents at Fenway Park and we didn't shine a light on them. In fact, we buried him and that was wrong of US I liked it. Players like the mets Dominic Smith you tweeted out, re tweeted just the other day. He had a brilliant social media post about how silence kills so. Out of the rubble of all of this the you know some horrible things are happening out there in. Cultural changes so desperately needed the fact that we're now identifying players who have a voice in a very strong voice. The the fact that organizations like the Red Sox are now. San here here's what we can do and here's what we need to do. That's some good stuff that's come out of this. Absolutely! The Red Sox Sam, Kennedy certainly and his. Best Friend Theo Epstein with the cubs. Baseball, presidents come out and said you know what I've made hires A. Invariably hired people who look like me and my background and I I need to really reevaluate that and do better and I think that Theo Epstein has done a terrific job with that Sam Kennedy as you mentioned and many of the players and. Baseball, not as bad as football ain't so I have to take my shots at all that we're calling tabernacle you with black ball that Lee. They really have something apologized. Haven't done it, so that's my two cents on that but baseball. I'm glad to see baseball is. Doing and saying the right things in this regard now, but unfortunately it's all overshadowed by the negotiation as we've got over it as I know where this point. And I want to end on covert nineteen, because that's a horrible place to end a podcast about anything right now, but it's kind of you know in relation to baseball and sports in general, John. It's tough not to eat your heart out again. I'm trying not to be political here, but New Zealand. Twenty thousand fans and a twenty thousand seat stadium for rugby this weekend..

It's not the same as teams or at the same as our national pastime. At the same as or representing. thirty franchises, and not that many cities You know it's really a shame. That baseball hasn't been able to get its act together I'm maybe I'm crazy. I'm still holding out little hope that someone's going to be the big man here and say you know when I give. Let's look at the big picture I'm going to forfeit Samadi. Not Worry about it, and let's get the season rolling. An. Unreasonable number of games I'm so with to John. And in this argument that's been proffered by both sides. They well look. Nothing happens in a vacuum. You know we show. Strength now. We have we have to do that. Because know, weakness will be used against us in the CBA talks in two thousand and twenty one, so please understand nothing happens in a vacuum I call bs on that. I think this is exactly what this is. It's a vacuum. This is so off to the side of anything we could have imagined this is the vacuum right absolutely and man that was the original argument against the revenue. Sharing that the the owners want to keep that going forever, but anywhere in endemic here you could have made a deal. With the revenue sharing and I'm not saying they had to do it if they were opposed on principle. That's fine, but the belief that it would jerry on forever I. I don't think that is the case so yet. Past sharing the owners have tried a few things I know that they're. They're offers have been made fun of on the Internet and they have been rather incremental. They haven't been the same they have. They have been better. Each each one has been a little bit better for the players, and it's done slowly, but at least they are working a little bit but I. I would say at this point not to take sides here, but. The owners are the billionaires I hate to lead on the cliche and the players are the millions that they're not all millionaires. We've seen some of the numbers of come out and sixty five percent of the players make a million or less in a year, and their careers are not that long so. Not all of them are superwealthy. Some of them obviously are the ones we know about the stars. They clearly are, but in this situation. I think the owners would look great. They're the ones who own the franchise's. "You guys ready for John Hayman talk some big picture baseball stuff. We rolled tape the in between his appearances on MLB network. Here is our special guest today Jon Hayman. We'll note any further delay indeed MLB networks John Hayman visiting with us in a very weird time to be talking about. Anything baseball related just because life is still wonky, but we're going to do it here and saying that their stances have fallen upon deaf ears. The Union chief Tony Clark put out the statement and saying. It appears at further dialogue is going to be few tile. It's time to get back to work. Tell us when and where John I can't believe. It's come to that I. Know There's a meeting on Monday. There's GonNa be you and I are talking a little bit before that meeting so coming out of that, but really this is where we are really. You'd hope they could figure out a compromise It's really sad the way things have. have. Come doesn't make any sense to me I. Wish they would keep negotiating. It's obvious. Both sides don't like each other. The rhetoric is getting pretty ugly You know I I would still recommend. Still hope that they can sit down and try to figure it out. It does appear. Decent chance we're heading to rob. Man For the Commissioner implementing a pretty low number of games for season with it be fifty fifty four I'm not sure I heard it would be in the fifty to be did it. I have not heard that the owners are going to do something different now that they're ready to. Bid Again. They bid a few times in. They're frustrated at both. Sides are frustrated I'm not thinking one side or the other but into ugly situation, and there's time to a seventy game season the pay the players forty percent or more and figure it out, but ISM appear that it's going to happen right now. Let somebody somebody. Is Willing to be the bigger man and say you know what I'll compromise more. Let's get this done. Let's do it right well and to me. The frustrations is a lack of an adult in the room here. Right I mean because to me. Rule One of divorce is you protect the kids? And in this analogy, the fans are the kids so so parents should never shout angrily across the room at each other to me. We have a truly selfish, a truly selfish dad here. They're hurting. The kids and nobody seems to care about. I think they're hurting each other as well fifty four game, season or fifty. Whatever it's going to be good for anybody. It certainly is rate for the fans I know a lot of will be thrilled to have baseball back in any way in any way, shape or form or lengths but. There is time to do a seventy game season the owners. PROPOSED SEVENTY TWO GAME Season so it's a loss, but into loss for the players as well they seem to be putting some stock in this grievance that they're gonNA, file and nets GONNA..

"It talk about the Arizona based college potentially offensive. Minded second. With a chip on his shoulder, a guy that embraces the underdog thing. That's this guy second round pick. There was not because the red sox were caught with their hand in the cookie. Jar Alex Cora last week talking about. Hey, look, this was not a two man operation. This is not just me and Carlos Beltran I mean. There was more going on than that he he didn't specify, but I'm kind of glad. Alex Cora spoke up on that third round pick. Pick you gotTa love the name Anyway. Blaze Jordan hit a three hundred ninety five foot. Omani Globe Life Park in Arlington when he was eleven. He's worked out with Albert Pu Holes. He was set to go off to Mississippi. State in a scholarship offer the eighth grade. I mean. This is kind of Bryce Harper story here regular on the showcase circuit. He's all over Youtube and he played for the amateur program. That actually has mookie Betts is one of its alums. So Interesting Guy I mean a lot of high end here home run hitting contest winner hit a bunch of bombs at progressive field when he was sixteen. mookie Betts actually hugged him at the end of that fourth round pick a pitcher by the name of Jeremy Woo. Yellen and this one is kind of a somber undertone. Jj Altobelli the southern California area scout for the Red Sox and. His Dad's stepmother thirteen year, old sister among nine people killed when Kobe Bryant's helicopter went down in late January it it fell to Altobelli, who joined the socks as a scout a couple years ago to represent his family in the wake of the tragedy and help care for a sixteen year old sister, but he kept working, did a lot of the in person scouting of this kid Jeremy Will Yellen from the University of. Of Hawaii actually that support round, pick fifth round, pick as a pitcher by the name of Shane Johann out of Florida state, six, three, hundred ninety five pound lefty, not great numbers four point, oh eighty are a matter of fact, but lot of upside pitch for the Falmouth commodores and the Cape League just a year ago, Falmouth with Tino Martinez Adam Kennedy Mark. Loretta, Darin Erstad AJ. pollock Jacoby ellsbury among the ALLOM. Good bloodlines here. This Kid's Dad Bill Johanne pitch with the royals. Minor Leagues Anyway all the way from the mid nineties until nineteen ninety. So there you go, there's the five. Slots at the Red Sox had for draft. They were only able to use four of them then. Leaves, there is somewhat of a draft to talk about some baseball. The talk about way way off the field one more thing before we read this bad boy up here..

"PODCAST number two fifty nine got John Hayman joining in. You know him from MLB network. He's all over twitter. One of the really plugged in guys and we'll talk some big picture stuff with John a little bit of Red Sox step mostly big picture. Stuff I've got some thoughts on the red sox draft. Should we do that now? Maybe we should do that now just to kind of. spackle over all this other stuff that we gotta talk about. You know I'm recording this on a Monday. The owners conference call is today, and unless they decide to be the adult in the room, which is unlikely, they will indeed burn the art to save the Museum so to speak because Rob Manfred can impose whatever he wants most think that's going to be a fifty four game season. Season now because follow the Matthew, you got three ten team pods with everyone playing three home games three road games against everyone in that Pod, so you got basically nine opponents, you play them. Six Times total nine times six is fifty four, but as we said if it were up to the owners they'd play is few regular season games as possible because you monetize those the owners. Really, don't want the playoffs to extend it in November. That's one thing that we need to be cognizant of and enact. Actually understand a little bit. One reason of course is the experts had forecast a surge in Cova nineteen cases when the weather starts getting cooler and all that so the postseason is not guaranteed at that point, but there's another unspoken reason. So much attention is going to be on November third. This little presidential election then games will be an afterthought baseball would run the risk of games being played in cities where who knows violence could break out after the election. Depending on what's going on so? Whatever gets discussed. I think one thing we need to just point out. There have not been actual discussions between the players and the owners here discussion necessitates conversation and the leaders really don't converse with each other. They're not even in the same zip code. I mean geographically. They're in different time zones, and this was never a negotiation. Negotiation is back and forth with actual responses. There's talking past each other here. It's like the other party doesn't exist and if you ask me if you pin me down to it, which side are you on? The players are a little odious here the way they're conducting themselves, but I'm sorry. This is on the owners. Are they really suffering here? You consider. The teams bought in this decade ten years ago. I was there when the Rangers were bought for five, hundred, ninety, three million. Forbes estimates their valued. Today is at one point. Eight Bill Houston Astros sold nine years ago for six hundred, fifteen million. They're worth one point eight five bill. So his whole Crimea River thing I'm sorry I just really can't get into it here. One thing that I do WanNa get into the draft. Because the red sox had one, it was a shortened draft another byproduct of all the nonsense here, but if you didn't hear where you don't know too much about it, the first round pick with a straight phases. A guy named Nick York. Seventeen years old, yeah! The news when he comes up in a big situation, it's up to you Nick York Knick York. Knick, York I mean that's as close to new. York as you can get and the red sox have a guy named Jeeter, they're pumping up now to sew up the middle for the red. SOx could be Nick York. And a guy named Jeeter, but this Guy York polarizing pick get it because it was a bit of a reach high school kid from San Jose. All say the University of Arizona to sign with the Red Sox and a lot of people made the comparison between York and Dustin Pedroia..

"Batting average, his eleven seasons in a Boston uniform four in red sox history in games caught. Let's see we have fisk. Varitek and Sami Walton Yeah. You Knew Sammy Walton. I'd look it up to fifty nine. Also the POSTSEASON era for David Price in two thousand, eighteen, culminating in La, where I think he now plays if he plays. Baseball which leads us into the body of podcast number two, fifty, nine Josh Lewin with you channeling my inner Peter Griffin time for another episode of what grinds my gears, thanks Diane. Just, like that. Unless Major League baseball comes back with a proposal that pays the players e full pro-rata without fans in the stands ten weeks, negotiations for just over no expanded post-season cooperation, and maybe a lot of players who just decided to sit out the season and rejoined things spring training of two thousand, twenty one year ready for a strike, and that's what grinds. My Gears Diane. seriously. Let me see if I have this right at a time. When baseball fans are aging, and the sport is struggling to keep up in American sports culture, the solution from the owners is to push for less baseball. Grow the product by playing his little baseball as possible. We need to make money right now and not down the road, so if we could, we'd play a one game regular season. Because those games this year won't be profitable and we'd like to play a thirty game postseason because playoffs on TV are profitable. Is that good for the sport now so good for their own bottom line short? Cardinals Chairman Bill dewitt junior actually told the Saint Louis Radio Station last week. That baseball isn't very profitable. To be quite honest. Was the rejoinder there? He bought that team for one hundred and fifty million in one, thousand, nine, hundred five, and is now worth two point two billion. But that's not profitable apparently. TBS just paid a billion dollars for one postseason series. There are six other postseason series besides that one baseball isn't profitable. Turns out the best interests of baseball in the best interest of the owners are not perfectly aligned. Vin diagrams here. It looks like the circles don't even touch unless there is a drastic change in a relationship between the League and the Union. Baseball is going to spend at least the next two years stuck in this endless loop of fighting and ugliness and pettiness. We're in the middle of a pandemic with end in sight. There's unemployment reaching depression era levels. The country's finally kind of come to terms here with what they're gonNA do about racial injustice, which really is a thing. All that's going on. And Baseball's fighting over money. At least we have our good friends at bet, online because sports are slowly making their way back. Who got the UFC NASCAR? Soccer? Of course bet online has been doing a lot of cool stuff..

"They suggested a seventy six game season but the players receiving up to seventy five percent of their pro rated salaries there's a solicitation responded by asking for it eighty nine game season at full pro rated salaries MLB network's Jon Heyman reports that its ownership source reacted to the counter proposal by same where no where if the two sides can't agree the owners believe they have the contractual right to force the players to play fifty games season with full pro rated salaries the next finally broke their public silence on the issue of social justice by releasing a thirty five word statement a Twitter set forth that they stand with all who act for positive change six for the last in the eighteen to publicly speak out following the Floyd murder and they've been harshly criticized as a result NASCAR was one of the first forced to return following the pandemic and now they're going to be one of the first to welcome back fans the starts on Sunday with up to one thousand service members could attend the Cup series race at homestead Miami speedway Todd Gurley is officially that left the falcons former all pro had signed a one year deal with the laptop back in April but because of the pandemic was not able to take his physical until Monday and he has passed a physical former jets defensive lineman Paul Rochester's died Rochester grew up in floral park played for the nineteen sixty eight yes the only jets team.

"Here Jon Heyman of MLB network Evan Drellich shove the athletic both reporting that there is now more optimism from both sides that common ground will be found to play baseball this season although and always official proposal hasn't been made and both players and owners will lose money they also understand they can't cancel the season over just that money and MLB offers likely coming Tuesday key point here the union wants more frequent testing the least proposed multiple times per week ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan on SportsCenter with John Anderson it looks like John they're moving in the right direction and I know it seems like I've been talking about going in the right direction for months right now but we're really getting down to the nitty gritty Major League Baseball has had a plan in place to get a plane home stadiums they want to open up spring training in mid June I wanna stargazer in early July maybe even on the fourth of July this still might be the most important week coming up because they are finally early in the week going to be sending a revenue proposal over to the Major League Baseball Players Association we will finally get a sense of where this impasse that they've hit on revenue winds up and if there is some sort of deal to be struck alternately between the sides this seems almost preposterous given how much people are like oh we need our sports bag of stuff but at this point what threatens the return to the game or is it the virus or is it money my band and listen the health and safety protocol that got sent from Major League Baseball over to the players association earlier this week wasn't exactly rubber stamp you know there are some issues that the players have with it it's pretty onerous as I suppose it should be considering the state we're living in right now it has a lot of restrictions you know players want to be able for example to take showers after the game or to use the hot and cold tub before and after the game but by and large the players were on board with a lot of the suggestions that MLB had in that document and team executives also we're going to be throwing some input into it and they're gonna get a revised document that's going to be amenable to all the parties involved figuring out the money on the other hand is a much more difficult thing because their incentives aren't nearly as aligned nobody in baseball wants players or coaches or managers or staff members to get corona virus and heaven forbid spread around the clubhouse everybody in baseball wants to grab their money that's the billionaire owners that's the millionaire players and figuring out how to divvy up a very large sum of money is proving a difficult thing to do but John it always proves a difficult thing to do and for the last quarter century they have figured it out enough in time to avoid some sort of a labor stoppage so the hope is that all the parties here recognize that the worst thing that could possibly happen is not having baseball in two thousand twenty because of money Hey Tom Glavin who served as the players union rep during the baseball strike of the nineteen ninety four ninety five season was on goal can we go this week providing this insight on the MLB negotiations I just think it at the end of the day regardless of what the issues are the players are just much easier to blame then the orders and I heard it all the time in ninety four during the strike even though we didn't ask for any more money we were just asking that the the the market the or the free market state in which the game operated under at that time stayed that way L. and basically all everybody said was you know the players are greedy and how much more money than they want so it it's just they're just an easy target now having said that I'm not saying that the Players Association and the player should K. ban on anything they don't believe in I think they have to have one hundred percent are one hundred percent right in being concerned Hey about the safety protocols that have been that certainly have been discussed and will continue to be discussed and I think they have a one hundred percent right to be concerned about a revenue sharing proposal because that was it an accident the whole fight in nineteen ninety four you know salary cap which they are trying to implement was based on a revenue sharing formula and the players wanted no part of that so I understand their concern because in their mind they're gonna say themselves rightly so well if we give into this now then there's a good chance they are going to come back to us at some point time to say Hey you did it then so why not now and I know they don't want to open Pandora's box in that regard I don't blame so Tom along those lines if you have the ear of Tony Clark runs union or the executive committee of the players right now what are some things you would say Hey this is something you should negotiate or this is something you should stand Pat on well I I think the big thing is you you it it's kind of you know it when you get into a collective bargaining agreement it it's typically a lot easier because you you have a lead up to what you have do you have your issues the owners have their issues you kind of have a pretty good idea of what it is that the owners are going to be coming after so to speak and you have a time to prepare for that if you have time to get how to get your arguments centered around that this is an entirely different situation nobody saw this coming nobody nobody in their in their right mind site or or or prepared board or any of that nature so I think in the short term I think it's it's one hundred percent understandable that the Players Association would be open minded and would be open minded to any and all discussions about okay how do we move forward now the Players Association mind they struck a deal on end and they they struck a deal that that the player salaries are going to be pro rated based on the number of games that were played and I think in that understanding it was that they were going to be fans in the stands now there is you know then some argument of late as to whether or not that discussion also included well if we don't have fans in the stands we have to revisit that so that's certainly something that both sides are going to have to work your way through it and figure out but I I do think that in this crazy situation we're in right now I would say any and all things should be it means on the table for discussion because again if if we get to the point where a lot of this state the stuff is worked out and figured out and then it comes to light well we're not gonna have baseball because of the economic issues and guess what it doesn't matter who wins the PR battle in that regard baseball loses gotta love the dog in the background there regarding those money issues Jeff Dickerson has an idea you know I understand that owners are losing money you could always borrow money to handle your payroll you could borrow money you can go into debt most Americans do it just because you're older doesn't make you immune from that some to think about I.

"Jon Heyman resigned he made that comment how they were gonna analyze all of the all time rosters from every team in baseball they will put together twenty five man rosters for each franchise in MLB history yeah yeah yeah yeah I've got my hands on these rosters so I was looking at the map that we any eighty roster yes we'll go through that coming up in a little but if I let me also say I watch two classic things here in the last twenty four hours first I sort of secret thing which was great yes and if you watch in a way that whole thing with Dick young which I thought was tremendous great job there and I also watch game five of the nineteen eighty six Western Conference finals when the rockets eliminate the Lakers and I did and I had forgotten about the is that Ralph Sampson hits these crazy off balance shot with one second to golden hits the rim and bounces down to win this series to win the game in the series all the just really in the interesting things I watched in the last twenty four hours lot of good stuff lately yeah a lot of good stuff ESPN was showing the infamous as it's now called Aaron Boone game right instead of the is a good way else yeah that's one of the great game seven and I do know and I'm saying this is a public service because I know you don't want to watch this I don't want to watch this very easy people would want to watch this but MLB network is showing game one of the two thousand fifteen World Series between the New York Mets I saw that game pass yes that's a game I don't need to see with that said it that will be competing later today in the Bendigo bracket a panel here to tell you that we saw in that okay I let's get to your calls laid off with ray in Waterbury Connecticut Hey ray ray how are you right put precise great show as usual thank god all right I'm a traditionalist I don't want this to be permanent but you know what a couple years ago I I saw what that was there in vision of the future has the red Sox Yankees and Mets in the same division no I it ranks you may want that I gotta tell you back in nineteen ninety four when they did their first store really second radical realignment mean you tell me when they realigned by having divisions in nineteen sixty nine I don't know if you can spare a radical but yeah it was something significant yeah I don't know you was I don't know how radical I would really call it okay yeah okay so the first radical realignment if you will was when they went to the three divisions in the wild card in nineteen ninety four and I remember them as a ten year old worrying that their in game wasn't even talking to my dad about this at the end game that bud Seely CAD was to eventually go real radical and that was to scrap the league so it's been something I've always thought Major League Baseball has is in vision but nineteen ninety four is a long time ago and it hasn't happened so right here we sit in twenty twenty it still hasn't happened for now it's just a thought about getting in the twenty twenty season but it's starting to restock fear that if they do it for a year a lot of people don't like it a lot of the older is gonna like it I think a lot of players would like it from a geography standpoint it would be less travelling and it just scares me that that would be our future yeah no I look I mean I I I it scares me too so I understand J. son in Montgomery Hey Jason Jason how are you your honor I would hope you guys are state sector in the the pandemic thank you to hear thank you yeah A. R. I got a water he reported though about the draft forever but you know first as well to combat watching football games I did watch the the forty one nothing just called for a wild card game okay yeah I was excited to watch I hired the styles you during it because of I'm dreaming of when the chips are gonna wait awhile Kerr division game over again yes eighteen years as they played all that came in that was that game was sold for all unbelievable and I am and I I got to agree with you a hundred percent I mean I used on the wide receiver draft I was disappointed so much that we only took one one of them and what hurts the most is missing out on I really wanted Jerry Judy IP with the Beckton pick but missing out on Jerry Judy and just wearing wet because by I have a buddy of mine who's a Denver Bronco fan and as you guys know that you have to play the Broncos this year whether we go to the game I'm not sure but if we go to like you but I have to see Jerry Judy Blake you know just light up Jerry Julian K. J. Hammel they're not a let's not make them sleuths wanted slower not quite yet we calm down without a little bit you know what what do you guys play in the league first which scares me you know in visioning the future we're visioning MLB's radical realignment here's what I'm envisioning in the middle of November as the jets are going through another just disappointing season that we're gonna take a lot of phone calls and it's going to be in my mind to and your mind to that well Sam doesn't have a lot of weapons I don't really care about you exam look at the wide receivers yes and in year three we can't be doing that in here for three you want to see what Sam Darnold is and to me coming out of this draft coming out of NFL free agency this is still a group of wide receivers that finishes in the top five in the NFL when you look at position classes and so when you add such should be better fill draft with so many talented wide receivers it is a disappointment that their walk away is one guy it's disappointing that out of free agency or trade market that saw de Andre Hopkins trade they walked away with what they lost Robbie Anderson and replace them with percent Perriman sold right right I don't feel at all Joe like they've improved something they need to improve well I look I mean they got a they they tracked it to skill position guys because I include the kid there from Florida running back as a weapon I mean I have to I need to catch the ball out of the backfield I include that but I understand I mean unless something dramatic happens and you know Herndon's healthier productive and somehow quit soon was healthy and productive and levy on thousands back to being the guy was in Pittsburgh yeah I'm with it I mean but that's a lot instead and I would doubt that that's all going to happen Josh in Waterbury good afternoon Josh Josh she got a radio down my friend we're gonna have to put Chelsea Josh enduring call mac entry Andrew you guys my wife what's up and I want to know what your thoughts would be on starting the NFL's he's in mid September in future years in this way the ended either coincide with the Super Bowl on president's weekend and training camps would not have to be in late August twenty five will be a little cool for training camps are always the time before the season starts what we have to put this up yesterday who was it Marash I guess it was yes said that this season should start like in October yeah he was pushed and pushed you back through you know the playoffs I guess would be a you know in February late January into February and then you would have to Superbowl let's say last weekend in February or March or something early March I had so I have no proof they want to do that and if they even look at used to start in them as I said yesterday in the middle of September we had a fourteen game season it basically started to gain two weeks after Labor Day so didn't start right away but I'm I'm look if they want to do it that's fine but I'm all for even like October you know let's let there be no football in in regular season football or NFL football anyway because you'll have to you'll still have the colleges I would assume right right in September but I I'm all for it without a doubt you know when you really think about it outside of baseball that's relying on the weather because they are NFL's not relying on the weather we plan sold weather warm weather every kind of question don't rush there in the MLB schedule makes sense because it has to be that it has to be I mean you can alter it a little bit but you really can't extremists right the NBA and the NHL would agree the NFL can be moved in a lot of different ways and the main reason it is what it is is because it's been like that for a long time and so there's never been a motivation to change I mean the one change we've seen out of the NBA and the NHL as you've experienced in your life is that the playoffs and much later because there's just more playoff right right right there's more teams making the playoffs there's more around there's more games when the Knicks won their first NBA title in nineteen seventy I believe was may eighth that they won the right right so think about that yeah now it's late June right no that he only had with three rounds of the playoffs still well that that's a part of it if you look at the history of the sports media outlets teams making the playoffs right let's read the rounds were sometime short is a lot of reasons for it obviously but the NFL can be altered anyway I don't know much past the be the late maybe the second week in October I would not go with him any more than that I probably would open in the first weekend in October let's go yeah I think I would that's not what I would start the first week in October would be fine I think it makes sense on a lot of levels for us here in the northeast it makes sense that we get to enjoy a more Sundays in September yes out going into a room yes I can I got five on six Sundays in September right I can go pumpkin picking with my family whatever you want to do are you sure if you could work on your game break to work on your crossover absolutely we're going to hook on to you I I used to have a hook shot my when I could play and I used to call the floor hook because I knew there was no sky for me it's a pretty effective weapon okay so you can work on that that left the you know left the workshop the lefty floor hook absolutely you know and the other thing is you have it now into February at time of the year which is very very dead so it makes sense I'm all for it as much of the traditionalist as I am and you are there are traditions that can be moved yeah I know football which is if you start to the season and in October I got no issue with that early October but from what I've heard so far is that this is their backup plan for twenty twenty obviously all sports you just try to get their seasons in it sure I have not heard that the NFL we consider this on any level because you gotta ask yourself something right I know why it makes sense for me I know I'm like why it makes sense for you but they've got us no matter what the matter well of course so how does the NFL benefit from moving the calendar that's the question that ask yourself right everyone still gonna watch liable the ratings are gonna be great no matter what so it doesn't really affect you there's no motivation for you well into the motivation in the forty S. house money yeah I mean I and yet I'm sure that that's how they would look at it will we make more money if we move the season back to stop Michael but I don't think I really would make any difference probably not right I'm just I'm just so obvious you know that that's I'm just throwing that out there you know who would love it I think baseball would love it because now they've got some with their faces hi there yeah you did not competing with the NFL now right I I would agree with you on a percent on it we'll come back with more your calls Carl banks will join us at three I'm Jim Rome with a radio dot com sports manning.

I believe is on vacation I write about that he is a could be on their show could be with Maggie and Moses could be with the with Evan and Kim soul a bad a I'd guess saying he'll be on sometime tomorrow to talk a little bit about the tweet that he had so I would be of no I'm going to be on listening I'm a long time listener like a most of you are dom is calling from man has said and done you're on the fan was happening so thank you so much so his arm thinking right so we have seen cronies of billionaire he's got all these great ideas and that's wonderful money is where it's at and we need that make it happen for the Mets I'm a Yankee fan Jeff will upon as a warrior he's made it happen through thick and thin and you know what you got to listen to will find Jennifer the transition probably I think what happened was the transition between where we all we want to go is where she might achieve any no war broke we got to make that transition you've got to make it happen that's what I'm thinking yeah well okay well sure I think that's why they they were talking about five years to begin with now to make that transition over that five year period and I'm sure that Colin wanted more sooner than later certainly metropolitan fans today under nobody Anke fans with their with their thoughts about the matter but met fans want to see the world ponds out whether it's Steve calling running the operation or the the reason that a metropolitan fans war as excited as they have been is because Colin grew up a Mets fan and has the money to go after Anthony ran down Francisco Lynn door Gary Cole I'm not saying that any and all of these kinds of ball players would sign with the Mets but to go after them to make a bid on them to talk to them to possibly act like a New York City Major League Baseball team and that area for a an aunt that Anthony Rendon own could've been right now looking ahead to twenty twenty for the New York Mets could have been the third baseman I'm just saying when there are his Brian this suppose I think Chris Bryant's going to stay with the cubs bod I'm just saying that with these kinds of players either on the blog or rumored to be wanting to leave or actually rumored to be leaving if you're the New York match you're not even paying any attention to any of this because you're not going to spend the money and and what mac fans want is the wheel ponds out whether it's and choruses dies Steve Colin with thirteen to fifteen billion near a little bit with the both bottom line is as a metropolitan fan obviously he would be spending to make the team a winner and that you hope that the Mets this season with what they have will be contending and playing good baseball and and but again they could have been maybe possibly sell a better team you have further will ponds were acting like owners of a New York baseball team I'm not saying they have to do with the Yankees do because nobody does that but certainly to compete in the National League in their division I mean you have to be really with a ball player that can make a difference Hey you have to spend and of course with those in the off season that were supposedly and someone out there worthy of getting worthy of at least going after I mean it's one thing and to not go after a top ball player that might help you and it's another thing to go after a ball player who might help you who decides to go some place cells at least the metropolitan fan would feel a little bit relieved a little bit satisfied to some degree that the team was making an effort to get a difference maker to help them win more baseball games Eric is calling from queens Eric you're on a family I'd like to ask you a small favor but before that I would like to make a state that I am in the minority I am actually extremely pumped for this upcoming season I'm very much looking forward to what's going to go on the field well actually going down to Orlando on vacation in March a verdict dot the porch of the street happy to hear all the good news with the list of tests but this I'm a big Rahman enter and the flying squirrel and all of their and everyone else with their mom really call and whatever other stuff the business side of it I can't worry about too much but I'm really excited and I can't wait thanks thanks I'd heard about the wild boar as well and I think or he has well and I think he put out a two minute video of him working out and sweating and rank communicating non verbally that he is ready to do a hundred and forty games and make a difference for the New York Mets won out but Steve my small favor you played it the other night it cracked me up maybe you could squeeze in the home of the when the show no I don't think not tonight because Hong known about the Cuban Pete soul helpful your ideas on well we are I see we have other callers and we only have a couple more minutes left in the program so if you maybe if you had called earlier we would have tried to get it in jam is calling from Tom's river and Jimmy around the fan what's going on Hey Steve all right I just want to say like listening to you all I'm on my way home I work on a night job so I get the less developed a real quick because I know you got it I'm just not really excited about this season with the Mets and I've been in my whole life and the main reason being is because I was looking forward to make the call it back and all the D. because I thought that we were going to stop and shop in the high rent district I mean well well I'll say this we're no no no no I didn't mean to interrupt but I guess I did so I apologize but here I was just going to say probably even if the deal was done and I don't think anything was going to happen now this close to spring training so it probably if if they if the sale had happened right away like even this week already I would have been obviously a little bit too late for the upgrade that you're referring to I understand that but you know I don't want to spend two billion dollars on a baseball game it'll be a cold day in hell before let the world finds running I mean a band of the team I mean why would you why would you object to run the pain would you paid all that money I wouldn't do that by not let you live in the property in my eyes you know yes because I know the regular mail to do anything right now but it was the future almost open that we we don't stop sure you have some good players but you know we're not bad we didn't do anything in the off season that that I can remember that that sounded exciting I meekness whenever we general big deal I've been a big fish in a pond you know Jones chorus listen and the end to end thanks Jim allowed for being part of the program and still some of that a New York times article that I read I briefly touched on the basically they headlined more than they re arrested the story but I will for just a second here a touch on this from The New York Times Colin announced in December they were negotiating a deal in which cone would become the team's majority owner the deal included on the usual provision that allowed Fred will upon the manager owner the Mets and his son **** the team's chief operating officer to remain in their roles for five years after the completion of the sale it was that provision which largely resulted in the talks falling apart according to four people who were familiar with the discussions and who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment publicly Colin believed the well ponds would play largely ceremonial roles while the well ponds wanted to continue to be active in the operation of the team according to the people that the New York times was talking to so you're you know some people might consider the New York times fake news I don't and I don't think this is fake at all and I think this is why we have the impasse that we have at this point in time which doesn't make me believe that it says Steve Coll one who's the the fault for this deal falling apart down or on life support or dead shoes your day you know fill in the blanks as you so wish is it died totally dead it could be and that's certainly possible I don't think so and I may be the only one who thinks that way but the the bottom line is.
"jon heyman" Discussed on WFAN Sports Radio_FM
"The the top story that broke only minutes ago and Jon Heyman of WFAN and other places he broke the news with Anthony or and don't know was not expected either go back go to war Washington the signs as you know now seven years and two hundred and forty five million and new for you remember and you do only a year ago nobody was signing this early with free agency and nobody was signing this early in the offseason and of course the two more key guys Harper and Machado I didn't sign into what seemed like the season was just about to get under way so far eight hundred and seventy eight million dollars has been spent and of course call with the three twenty four round own would two forty five Strasbourg at the two forty five Moustakas sixty four million and this totals eight seventy eight and maybe we should total eighty to eighty one with the metropolitan signing Michael or walk up and Michael the the last couple of years there has a had a rough time he was six and seven last year did not win a game after July nineteen because of a shoulder so he's been heard the last two years he's missed a lot of times obviously a team friendly one a year three million dollar contract and of course listen AT may put the metropolitans over the top for you says dripping with sarcasm what he will do is hopefully fill out the rotation and make that the starts that he needs to make it's a three million dollar contract with incentives that could totaled the incentives and bonuses meaning that if he doesn't need a nurse's aide to help them get to the villagers mound he may pick up as much with the bonuses and incentives another ten million dollars so that's where we are right now you know about the nets losing their game to divine day Graham with the big three with during crunch time at the very end to close out with forty points and Charlie beating of the nets and I think it's now fourteen games without Irving fourteen and counting without his ailment so that so the latest with the nets and and of course the New York Jets at tomorrow and here's the thing and I mean listen it it may not have been as exciting as the other one o'clock game from last Sunday but the jets are coming off a win and of course you chose when you wanted to a whole week to savor an aeration just bask in the glow of beating Miami by a point and of course as you know the judge were able to win this game the number one key to the game was holding Arion fits five Patrick to under a hundred yards rushing he rushed for sixty five yards so now the question is will Lamar Jackson rush for more than sixty five yards tomorrow night so the bottom line is now the jets were they fourteen fifteen sixteen and counting points with the they're the underdog and and nobody is surprised by that you'd like to think that if they lose that they at least look good losing and maybe cover the spread and nobody things that's even likely the ravens a chorus on their way of of what they are eleven into mark to getting to where they want to go and where we think they are going to end up in February and that of course is a super ball as we speak right now and anything can happen we think they're the best team not only in the a FC about football as well and it's Ingram it's Lamar Jackson with their running their defense is certainly better than average and there are a fired up group with a lot of intensity and a lot of talent especially with Lamar Jackson on his way to being the most valuable player but again last weekend at that we had to one o'clock games and of course you probably notice that the forty Niners and we still think they are going to end up a number five seed with Seattle winning that division and Seattle and the forty Niners do play argue of leave for that division title in the very last week week seventeen last regular season game and the game is in Seattle where this scene birds generally have the forty Niners number and they've already beaten once in San Francisco are in Santa Clara so the bottom line is what we think the forty Niners good team and yes we saw some of that game and watch mostly with the jets and the jets and the forty Niners each had ten of something in their games the forty Niners and saints produce ten touchdowns and a chorus what was the equally exciting was the jets and the fish producing ten field goals so I guess you could say you got a kick out of watching the New York Jets last Sunday.
MLB on Verlander flap: Astros violated access policies
"Jon Heyman has tweeted this morning that regarding Detroit Free Press reporter Anthony Fenech the MLB statement that they've issued per our club me relate regulations the reporter should have been allowed to enter the clubhouse posting at the same time as any other member of the media and we have communicated this to the Houston Astros so good for them the Astros were dead wrong if a player doesn't want to talk to a particular person that's fine but everyone should be in the same vicinity at the
