How you do turkey. Hold? Yes. Now how you do turkey hole? That's not how you do things. I would You're always welcoming. You're always welcome into April. Yes to address. Why did you give me your phone number? If you were gonna be phony and not come on, don't do that. That's not you. I would tell him. No, not on the air. I would do it with respect. I wouldn't swear to Mandy. Oh, be thinking you're insane. He would have no recollection of the incident. This guy's a Super Bowl champion. Was great on TV. I'm just telling you, nobody pitches the wildlings better than this man Second. If he did that to me, he's done it to others. I'm just telling you remember doing it to you. He's great. He's just trying to get this Raiders team in the right direction. Hope they never score another point while he's coaching Mark coach Jon Gruden joins us on the morning. What will be about love and peace and happiness? You're taking us down to negative road. Oh, I don't want to have him. I know. "So with the extra playoff, I'll could go over and tell you 889 I would probably play the Bears over 7.5. Do you think, Danny that a good place? I just don't know what we're basing it on the over right now. On paper. You don't have a cornerback. You got rid of Kyle Fuller. You don't really have a quarterback. You haven't done anything really to address the offensive line. I mean, personally, I think they'll be lucky to win seven games. Are they better at quarter quarter back than they were last year? No, I don't believe they are. I'm Andy Dalton's a fine player. But Andy don't Mitch for biscuits six of one half that have a dozen of the other. We know Nick Foles sucks. Miller. Andy Dalton or Mitchell to biscuit just for the 21 season when you take it honestly? Yes, I'm taking Mitch. And I don't know. And you know, I don't like Mitch. I know what down there. So how about the Lions in the five? If I'm going to go under that thunder, worse? Yeah. I think you got your golf stinks. Right? So you're losing Matthew Stafford, you're getting Jared Goff. How many? How many games to the Lions? They were five and 11. The reason I'm asking about the lines is because if you don't believe in Dalton and the Bears you think you're going backwards. The lines Widmore know what the lines record wasn't home last year of the eight games One in seven at home. Yeah, there were four and four on the road. The only thing that's wipe it out pandemic wipe it out. The only thing that's causing me questioning is the is the extra game, buddy. It's that extra 17th game. We're normally five could easily go. Yeah, go under pretends like that is 17 years ago. I'm not betting the over. I'll tell you that. No, the bears win more games in the lions, So they got a new coach and they better old boy. Go Dan Campbell. You can't. I mean, I I'm going to change, Probably By the time we get to September on, Always, it's always Now it's training camp and then right before the season when I make my final prediction, But eight sounds good. Yeah, one sounds good. I really need to see what they do in the traffic. If you made may pick I'd go over on the bears by like a win. I think if if you're like it's great to talk about, But if you're somebody who's actually looking to wager like today you're insane. You need to wait till after the draft. You know we could have away from the draft. I think a real intriguing one on this list is the Colts at 10 wins now that they have Carson Wentz. Because that that is a really good football team. They get better with Carson Wentz over Philip Rivers. No. Do you know? You don't And you just asked me my opinion. I don't think they did. I'm not a huge Carson Wentz guy. Just lay off. If you're asking me like win total They will be the best in the A F C south. So why wouldn't they win? 10 games guides? Only 9.5. That's surprising to me. You gotta realize to win 10 games Now you can still lose seven correct. That's it. The class of the A F. C south of the Titans and the Colts. Who's gonna get the 10 wins faster. Who's gonna finish with 10 wins? I'm going to say the Titans. I'd say the colt that they do They have a line on the Texans. Are they affections or five? Yeah, 9.5. As far as the wind total 9.5 for who? No. That's the Titans. Tensions are five action. I'm serious because of the Sean being completely up in the air. They have the Jaguars actually getting more wins and that Yep, I'll take the under there. It's gonna take a little while. Trevor Laurence gets seven wins just by waking up in the morning. That's not his hair is worth for, but not not to say rain for Clemson. Jackson. How about the Raiders projection of eight? This eight. They're paying that freaking coach. That guy $100 million. Didn't you see it was circulating yesterday and Twitter. Jon Gruden stumping for Johnny Manziel to be the number one overall pick in 2014? Yep. Along with the like, tagline. This man is making $100 million to make football decision, right? I'm not a Gruden guy. I'm not You've actually used the words you don't use often hate So you've said you hated Jon Gruden Not do that right here before. That was an old version of me. I know. There's that word. No. Uh huh. Just I'm not a fan. I'm not a fan of his. He's a phony. He's a phony ass. Is calling someone a phony ass worse than saying I hate them. Like you like the whole idea of the word I hate is what you don't. It's not the actual four letter word I hate. That's bad. It's the intention, but calling someone a phony ass has the same horrible intentions. It's not any better. Just could you not have an erection with him, and I find him to be incredibly phony. No, I know, but I said you said you hated him. And you're like, I don't know the Chicago Bears. When I watch him, I get bored. Get bored thinking you, um He's not talking to you. There's a beautiful banana. Tell everyone why you don't like Jon Gruden for those that missed it, So I mean, that's exactly right. That's exactly true for you giving ravage almost blew us off today. Would you say you hate him? No. It's different. No, it's not. I say my I was on the field at the world Syriza I look up and in the first row three Ft. For me is Jon Gruden. He's in town to do the Bears game. Just 2016 obviously. Walked right up to him. And I'm like, Hey, John. I introduced myself and he could not have been more charming. I said, Hey, man, can I get you on our show? Absolutely gives me a self. I said Okay, I'm going to have my producer follow up. No problem Still waiting, And I've talked to him on that. Don't call not doing any interviews. Okay? But I want to show you what the turkey hole is. It's the turkey help. You're a turkey old anyway. Why are you arguing with sound bites His calling a guy in turkey hold better or worse than saying I hate him. I mean, this is one of the same. But I don't know why you're yella get sound bites from years ago because I can't get the real thing. If John Woman if Jon Gruden texted me right now was like, Hey, I'm sorry about that, You know, incident a couple years back. I'd love to come on tomorrow. Would you agree to talk to him? Yes. If he apologizes, Know if he doesn't apologize. He just says I'll come on and talk football. Are you gonna have a conversation with my president? Are you going to say? Yes, I'll talk to him. Here's a guy here is one of my long time, friend. I met him at Wrigley Field. Jon Gruden is with us here on Capitol Good couch. How are you, buddy? That's how we'll go up every day. With that. "It's not like that it's not that type of situation. Urban meyer took the job without a general manager in place because he was going to essentially sign off on whoever was going to work alongside of him right. I mean that's just reality of yeah. Sometimes it doesn't come down to job titles soldier. Gm head coach. It still marked. Go hit it. Mark davis mike. Mayock jon gruden. Nobody believes john. Gruden's working for micmac. Absolutely not ready to go the other way around. Who things running the kansas city chiefs and you and you re big ran is running to. Kansas city wasn't dorsey. Run into before that. Darcy's et dorsey dorsey at home. Because andy reid decided i kiss give me fire incentive packing real quick you really of it. So everybody's saying you gotta listen. You gotta listen to what meyer says. I want you to listen to jim. Mcmahon last seen wearing that roselle headband. I believe Jim mcmahon telling twelve fifty two sports. Of course he is the bare super bowl. Winning quarterback the super bowl shuffle. The eighty-five legendary team the monsters of the midway of his own city chicago. Where he's a legend quote. I think it's where quarterbacks go to die key. It's hard to argue. That point when you take a look at the number of people after jim mcmahon and those that have a lombardi that'd be nobody after mcmahon said lachmann of course well before they went to one man they did indeed with rex. Grossman for sure. You're saying this isn't just one of those situations where it's this city. That's just been cursed by bad quarterbacks. It's not about the quarterbacks it's about the culture it's much more of a systemic situation. It is in when you look at it. The quarterbacks that have gone there all of a main bat they turn out to really be bad because some of their other stops there serviceable guys. That can actually play the position. i look at. who are. They hiring as their coaches like you had an opportunity to stay longer with lovey smith. You decided to part ways with him took you to a super bowl. Much like you mentioned with rex. Grossman you start to look at coach. Dick was there. They won the super bowl. But then when you start getting into dick toronto since in instead defense. And then you go get freshman and finds it like we'll come home and foxy foxy. You took foxy at the end at the end of his coaching career. He was he was pretty much going to the golf course and you decided to bring him in for what reason the stabiliser like when you think about tradition we all know those coaches right. They're good enough to just make your organization stable and then you try and find somebody else. They'll come fix it and get you organize the way you need to build your team. You think about five hundred fisher right. We all call them. Five hundred fisher. He'll get you the five hundred but if you're a team that's far below five hundred. He's the guy you get to kind of fix it. Do you get the genes once. He's fixing to kind of move forward now. Matt nagy was supposed to be that asser right. He's supposed to be from andy reid tree. He's gonna come. Modernize a team and organization traditionally had has always been built on defense to try to modernize to give them a bit offense. It didn't work out they. They thought they were trying to be the smartest people in the room. and they. We're going to get mr bisky instead of going to get Wasser passionate mahomes and they thought themselves which you at your boy could be doing well. First of all when mitch trubisky was drafted. You had a defensive minded coach in. John fox there so they go up and get mitch trubisky. Although the general manager pace was in place he still was listening to the head coach. On who the draft and so he made that decision and they drafted trubisky. But when you go and get matt nagy you're going to get a guy thinking that matt nagy as the guy wasn't calling the plays nagy was had the title and he would have input at times but this was an airbnb. This wasn't a guy actually sitting there from point a. to point z. Calling plays in games so you got what you thought you were getting but you got the wrong thing. And that's kind of wish chicago in my opinion continues to go wrong. They continue to hire to wrong coordinators in the wrong head coach and not necessarily understanding how to find the right quarterback zubin. There's no doubt about it right now. The bears according to caesar's there over under win total is six seven and a half. So they're giving them a little bit more room remember in eighteen last year so they're not thinking they're going to be very much better. So are the guys key in bart going for that over or under seven and a half winds with the team hitting exactly eight last season..

"And now move the sticks with daniel jeremiah and bucky brooks. What's up everybody. Welcome to move the sticks. Dj lucky back with you as we are within a few weeks of the national football league draft. Taking place in cleveland. Ohio april twenty ninth through. May i buck getting more excited as we get closer but it feels like we're the time is frozen right now. Where is the fast forward button. I mean we really really close. I think is exciting because we pretty much put the finishing touches on all the drafts. Evaluations draft hordes of said. We've done all the stuff now. He's just trying to pick and choose which players are going to. That's exciting part of the ropes is dragged. He saw it on the screen. They're just a second ago. Reminding you can find us on the move six podcasts. Nfl dot com slash podcast or your favorite podcast provider On the show today but we have got a lot of ground to cover including some fantastic guests. Some fantastic guests. We also have an opportunity to discuss. Jon gruden the raiders. Take them into the body shop to fix them. And then finally we're gonna talk about gregory rousseau his pro prospects and how he projects at the next look now. Also going to get into these quarterbacks. I think we should do that right now. I guess it's being billed as a second date really zero pseudo private workouts here. For some of these quarterbacks justin fields coming off his second workout there with some of the key teams in the quarterback market right behind him watching him throw all we have to go off of is some of these clips. That ohio state released not a surprise. The ball jump out of his hand buck. I don't think there's any question about the talent just fields possesses but give me your opinion on the value of the second pro particularly with kyle shanahan standing right behind him. You think the big thing is a lot of teams in different representatives to workout and dj has you know always talk about getting the number of is on prospects because you want more is more opinions to be able to make the right decision. I think it's very interesting kyle. Shanahan was supposedly got a chance to look at him. He may be imagined what he could do in his office. But the atlanta falcons also had a contingent there as well as some other teams so this was really a show off moment for just feels second pro day second opportunity for everyone to really get an up close and personal view at how his game could project the next up and one of the unique relationships in this draft is with the guy we spent time with john beck who has been working with justin for longtime also now working with trae lance john back played for kyle..

Bill Barnwell Breaks Down NFL Quarterback Moves

"So bill. We gave you do the math a whole month away from this podcast before our dependency bio chemically kicked back in so i just hope the last four weeks have been everything that you personally needed. Pablo got on many vacations. I turned around my life after six months of just staying watching football now. Bill barn wells weekly column on. Espn plus and he hosts the bill. Barnwell show podcast realistically. I have done something that few human beings have accomplished. I managed to get one pack of moments from nba. top shot. yeah. We share that same addiction. You are far deeper into the game than me. I realized over the weekend. I just want there to be an nfl top shot. Because i feel like that's going to happen right. It has to. i mean. Imagine the things you could do. You could send somebody that colts fake punt from years ago or or if you wanted to try some of your friends. Perhaps you could send the russell wilson interception from the nfl top shot to a certain person with the initials m used to host the show. Yeah just randomly picking in that example in those initials absolutely but bill. We dragged you back here. Speaking of a certain quarterback who threw a certain interception emotionally terrorized ours. Because this is an especially dramatic. Nfl offseason. they're all these big name. Quarterbacks who want out of these relationships that seemed from a distance at least pretty broken and russell wilson and the seahawks. I need to ask you about that. I because i know russ isn't feeling respected by head coach. Pete carroll reporting. I know that carol wants to revoke all of his cooking privileges. We've heard now. Russell wilson like storming out of meetings which is kind of funny to imagine like door very lightly slamming so this particular soap opera. What is all of it. Feel like to you much ado about nothing really. I mean i just i. Just don't buy russell wilson drama. I go back to his contract. Negotiations this is the same player in the same agent. Who wants imply that he would leave football in the middle of these negotiations entering the final year of his deal to try professional baseball. Where russell wilson once for the iraqis and the organization he hit to twenty eight in the low minors before returning to college football. It was not a realistic threat. But if that way does he want the seahawks to give him more helpful on the offensive line which has been sort of the crux of his public complaints. Yeah i do believe that. And i think that the seahawks could benefit from giving him more help. They relied on russell wilson to run his way out of sacks and free pressures from unblock players which has worked for that stretch buddies also taken a ton of hits cuss russell. Wilson plays the way he plays. He is going to take a ton of sacks regardless of how good his protection is the best way honestly pablo to get him. Hitless frequently would be to run the ball more. Which is the exact thing. Russell wilson was trying to get the seahawks do lasso last offseason. So there is something here but i very much doubt that leads to a trade. My favorite thing about this new cycle i think is that russell wilson has relayed via his wrapped. Adam schefter that he is not demanding a trade but if he were there are these four specific teams that he'd like to go to the bears. The cowboys the saints. The raiders does any of that make sense to you know not at all i mean the classic russell wilson tropez that ciara was going to pick teams him in new york in los angeles which this is the opposite that list even the teams he chose are so strange. Maybe you'd argue that. He chose teams with great offensive. Lions triumph of the seahawks. But the trade doesn't really add up the same. Stu have agreed offensive line. But they're like sixty five million dollars over the salary cap. The cowboys have a great line. Whenever everyone's healthy but they also have back prescott. that's not gonna work either the bears. I don't understand. They don't have a great line or any cap space. That one makes no sense to me on either. Level the raiders. Maybe are the most interesting and plausible candidate of the bunch with a great line and some cap space to work with. But when i think about jon. Gruden as raiders coach. He wants quarterbacks to do exactly what jon gruden wants on every single play. I don't think any if it really adds up to meaningful trae dialogue. I don't think there's going to be a conversation between the seahawks and another team about trying to make a trade for russell wilson work but this is twenty twenty one anything is possible

Are Raiders plotting to trade Derek Carr, pursue Deshaun Watson?

"According to a report out of las vegas. The raiders are taking calls on quarterback derek. Carr it's suggested in the report that it could potentially be the beginning of a three team trade to get to shawn watson in a raiders. Uniform shannon vegas. Try and trade for sean top. Five top seven quarterback. I think you should be in the running for watson. Skip there something that's been on my mind and the bother me last week. I called you the night before and told you that has some information about about jon. L. came on the show and they're about six thirty top of the show. I said to shawn watson my sources tell me shawn watson has ashby the texans for trade and this is not. This is just being broke but this could ask a couple of weeks ago now. Adam schefter reported twenty minutes out to me that show watson to ask for trade basically saying that he's breaking the news which at and i said what transpired that he wants to go to the jets. He have a fondness for robert solid. Everybody keeps saying jason this and that so what they're trying to do. They're trying to add egg pool pork to a hamburger. That i've already made is still a hamburger. Youth and economists tried to add to the story back to this absolutely skilled. I don't this report came from chris. Simms yes okay. What transpired skill. And you said this yesterday. When he was when he was talking to the press conference the player he said the player of the the new england syria away to new caserio said the player yes he must have realized how it sounded his head because he started saying shaw desha. It's too late. You everything off his thing and our to our for everything to my agent day google level but anyway skill yes they should skip. I just got always got the impression. That jon gruden wasn't as far the derek carr. I don't know what it is. I could be totally wrong but it. Just something about yeah. He's good but i don't really know if he can take me to where i need to go. I am making ten million dollars. The i do have one hundred dollar contract. And we haven't been to the play. So i'm as you can be viewed as a failure skill for thirty million dollars ain't got nothing to show for it. And there's a lot of have to do with his defense. They print his lands. Twenty fourth and thirtieth last three years are good bradley the off season he so you look at it. They're waller. it's a top three tight end. They got josh jacobs. Who made the pro bowl again. If i'm not mistaken hillary rodham. He nice receiving corps offensive. Line is solid. Yeah john was. It will be a major player for them. And in this offense again. It's the west coast system skip. It'd be foolish not to try

Blame Jon Gruden for the Raiders’ loss to the Dolphins... but do it for the right reason

"Raiders lost to miami. Las vegas raiders are now seven and eight. They missed the playoffs again. This year and the blame has got to go on. Jon gruden their head. Coach I i like jon gruden. I think there have been moments where he's done a good job preparing his team to play. I thought the highlight of the year for las vegas. Raiders was beating the kansas city chiefs. They looked very well prepared. That a great game plan But again this loss to miami coach. The recent failures by the raiders has to go on. Jon gruden you're gonna blame jon gruden for the loss. Make sure you do it for the right reason. So all the attention after this game has gone onto john. Gruden's late dame decision making against miami. Where the raiders had the ball first and goal on the eight yard line with a minute and fifty five seconds left. And the raiders chose to not score a touchdown they had. I mean they first of all they had the running back. Josh jacobs literally taking the other one yard line that he slid down to avoid scoring and did not want a touchdown would have given them a six point lead because they had they were down gas. Were down twenty four twenty five so they didn't want to have a six point lead. They wanted to take as much time off the clock as possible then on third and goal derek carr literally kneeled to continue to run the clock down and they kicked field goal. Giving them a twenty five to twenty three lead with nineteen seconds. Left in the game and people are critical. The strategy like you should have done other stuff. You should've taken the touchdown you should've done. Whatever coulda woulda should say whatever you want to say. I don't think this is the reason to criticize john. Gruden every once in a while you have a strategy. That is a good strategy. That simply doesn't work. I play video. What is it not a tabletop. Game like a board game called settlers of catan a giant nerd and my family. We all play during christmas. And i had a great strategy of putting my game pieces on the the number eight. Meaning that if you have to you have a high percentage chance of rolling in eight like you would think yeah. It's literally six and eight or two of the highest six eight and seven like the highest possible. Things could roll when you're rolling. Two dice and eighths just never got role but i waited and waited my whole strategy revolves around rolling eight with these two dice. And it didn't happen. And i don't know this the probability or whatever. I just know that on paper. That's a good strategy. Like eight gets rolled all the time and this game. It was an anomaly. It didn't happen and that happens sometimes every once in a while you good strategy that for one reason or another. There's an anomaly. And it doesn't work out

Raiders lose QB Carr, fall in overtime to Chargers, Herbert

"And chargers from last night chargers rookie justin herbert having himself a seasoning looked. Great again is quarterback sneak in overtime helped. The chargers win the raiders however their woes continued they lost derek carr early on replaced by marcus. Mariota was nice to see him in there. You look good look. Good enough raiders. Lose again it's four of five now in the loss column for them with their playoff hopes. All but dead coach. Genie is joining the conversation this morning. Good coach good morning but nick. I want to start with you. This raiders started six and three. They your chiefs. They were rolling what happened. How did this team fall apart. One second just very quickly. I'm happy for marcus. mariota chance. I thought he played well. I in came. Maybe gets an opportunity to compete for a starting quarterback job. It's always conducted himself well in this league and obviously didn't work out in tennessee. So i'm happy for him. Now to the raiders. Nobody likes somebody to say. I told you so. But i told you so. Everyone's like oh nick right and such a hater oh after they lost to the chiefs game on dvd. And everyone. everyone's congratulating the raiders though. They're dangerous they're scary. Oh they've given the chiefs try. They beat them once second done. And what i tell you. They're going to be the best team to miss. The i might be wrong about that. Not even sure. They're better than the vikings so they're going to be one of the best teams to miss the playoffs coach. They have a fancy new stadium in vegas. They haven't read. What fans there next year when fanshawe do you think they'll have one banner for beating the chiefs or two banners for beating the chiefs and almost beating the chiefs a second time as those are the two best moments of the gruden era. I'm not sure because this team has been terrible. Since they played the chiefs the second time some would say the chiefs still their soul. I don't know. NFL Insider Dan Graziano Breaks Down Week 11

"Dan graziano it is eleven fifty eight. Pm eastern so. Thank you very much man for staying up late behind. After that game. I go right to sleep. That was exciting. Dan graziano is an espn nfl insider. And he will get to sleep soon. We promise fired for game like that. Yeah me too i mean. Let's get into this right off the top here the chiefs. Just beat the raiders. Thirty five to thirty one. They beat the team who is beating kansas city. This season dan back in week. Five about a million years ago. So were you watching for in this rematch tonight. Well to see if they can do it again right. I mean that sounds simple. But like i didn't think their victory over kansas city was a fluke because it seemed like they had kind of a formula that they went out and they stuck to. They didn't win but a certainly could have. And i think that's that's significant because they know that's the team that is in their way in their division. Obviously they're on top of the conference in the league as super bowl champion. So you see the raiders. Draft a running back in the first round last year. That can help them. Control the clock and keep mahomes on the sideline like they did in the first game. They played they draft the speedy wide receiver this year in the first round. That can stress their quarterbacks. I mean they're thinking about the chiefs all the time. They're certainly not on that level at this point as the records indicate but they've constructed a team that can play in a way that threatens the chiefs and it might be able to beat them. So they're not as different as you might inclined to think yet and i have to admit like the difference between pat mahomes and derek carr felt smaller than i ever realized it would tonight. What did you see from these two quarterbacks total commanded of the offense which has not always been him. And certainly since gruden's been there. We've seen a lot more ups and downs. Where he looked like he was a little bit. Lost a little bit uncertain But this is years three with gruden and when gruden got there he talked about competent car up and making sure that car believed he was the guy. So that when you know. When ben came together around him he would be the guy that was in total control of things. And and it seems to be coming to fruition. What he's got. He's got people to throw to nelson agholor like out of nowhere as having a career renaissance in las vegas. He's got two very running back. Got a great offensive line. And i think you know he's playing with a lot of confidence as you would expect him to give all those things now. I think he's taken a big job this year in terms of where. He ranks in terms of the quarterbacks. We feel confident about what we watched the did feel like gruden kinda new like no. It's sunday night football. Let's give the people something that they'll enjoy. What did you most enjoy from. Hearing those play called why. I our love to know what the purple walrus was and i mean i think there are some vegas ones like he dropped. The sammy davis in there at one point and then and then it sounded like they've been paying very close attention to the nba off-season because there are a number of james harden and those who among nfl coaches knows how to produce primetime football. Better than jon gruden right. I mean he did it for for a decade or so for us in terms of operating in that sphere. So maybe i don't know maybe maybe he feels like a showman or maybe they're just having a lot of fun in their in their offensive meetings. They sound like all. The time does not all watching every week but was it so as showmanship goes that lasts. Drive man lake travis. Kelsey had some great moments in this game but that catch at the end mahomes calling him the best tight end in the league game. What did you see from travis kelsey tonight yeah domination. This is this. is you talk about reliability. I mean the the quarterback knows he's going to be where he's supposed to be. He knows he's almost certainly going to be open. He know he's going to catch the ball like it's total complete confidence in a guy in a key spot third down. A guy had throw to the end zone in the final minute. I mean he is the best tight end in the league. I don't think it's even close especially when you know. George kittle is on the shelf right now in the second best tight end. The league is probably the guy that was on hiller sidelines tonight. So there's there's no doubt that he in homes are in sync in a way that very few combinations like that are

Jon Grudens Raiders and Tom Bradys Bucs: A Special Relationship

"Paul duty as I have a question for you where are you right now? I am in an RV at an RV park in Las Vegas and barring my mom and dad's RV while I'm here covering the now Las Vegas Raiders Paul Gutierrez not only covers the raiders for ESPN. He's written a book about Raiders Fandom and followed the team Vegas kind of living like. A little bit. Paul I of about fifty fall of questions about what life in that our views like. But it does feel like the ability to pick up and react to sudden schedule changes is especially important to covering the raiders these days starting with what's happening right now, we are talking on Thursday evening ahead of this highly anticipated raiders game, and there is a Kovic scenario that you've been covering in depth so. What do we know about the game schedule? What do we know about who's playing or who is not playing? Basically, what has happened is is right tackle. Trent Brown tested positive for covert. Now as part of the protocols here anybody who's deemed a high risk contact with him has to self isolate for at least five days plus one which would be the. Last point of contact, which was practice on Monday they are all there. They were all there together It's the raiders entire starting offensive line, plus let's just throw safety Jonathan Abram in there as well. So man, all of those guys were just placed on the covid nineteen list again doesn't mean any of them tested positive. I was actually told that none of them. But as part of the protocols they have to selfies late for five days. Another other source told me that they've been doing virtual preparation. In case they can indeed get cleared play against the buccaneers in the meanwhile, it was supposed to be a big Sunday night football game. Yes. The League wanted to make sure that that game actually happens. So they bumped the raiders out of their move Seattle in Arizona into that spot. So a game will happen well, guess what if you guys I just mentioned you consistently Test negative on their Cova test the rest of the week and then again Sunday. Morning will then they'll be cleared to play. But at what time? Sunday morning Oh. Yeah. kickoffs at one o'clock. So the backstory all that as well. I gotTA catch my breath here when I started figure this out understandably. Yeah. They on their fifty three man roster. They currently have five backup offensive lineman. That's WHO's been trodden. They've been trying out there in practice every day. That's who Derek Carr has been had protecting him. That's who Josh Jacobs has been trying to run holes through those five guys plus they also have two guys on the practice squad that they could suit up if need be. So as we sit here right now on on Thursday late afternoon the raiders starting offensive line is anchored by Andre James and if you need to know who that is I got a couple of media guides for you can look about. Paul Creek me. If I'm wrong here, but I believe this is the very first case of an entire position group being taken down by cove like I know that we've had players here and there. You put on this list but in terms of the magnitude of what the raiders are facing with the offensive line, this feels extreme. Yeah. An and it's part of the protocol. Really. Because only one guy really has tested positive but it's out of the abundance of caution which we've heard a lot of since since the pandemic hit right you've got to self isolate you gotta make sure you don't test positive or show any symptoms, and even if you don't show any symptoms, still self isolate because you could be symptomatic. It's just very bizarre. It's a strange world we're living in Derek Carr said this week that you know he's been with the team for seven years seen a lot of weird things. He's this is the weirdest thing he's ever seen and it's worth noting like weird is by no means foreign to this organization even within this context I mean, I still need help Paul disentangling what exactly happened for instance with Jon Gruden their head coach who took an approach to corona virus with the team earlier this year that had me confused the media confused, and then ultimately Jon Gruden himself pretty angry at everybody. Yeah. So beginning at Camp, we show up in a media member. We have to test every day just to get in I have fifty two on my belt. All negative so far, which is a good thing Jon gruden passes out t shirts to the media with there waiting for us as we walk in the media room that say crush the virus because I was going to be his mantra he took issue with the NFL network reporting that he faked having the virus but yet kind of just went away then on the home opener on. Monday night football when he later would get fine for not wearing his mask properly, he brings it up himself and says that he never faked the virus it as a matter of fact, he did have it. So he talked about just how it was not fun. It made him feel bad and this is all before training camp. When he said he he went through this and beat it in in that. He has the utmost respect for it and he still wants to crush it in beat it into the ground like it was some sort of opponent.

NFL fines three head coaches $100K each for not wearing masks on sidelines

"Up weak, too. Showcasing Las Vegas league was coming down hard on those Who haven't been following protocol. Last week, NFL sent out a strongly worded memo that said coaches had to wear masks on the sidelines and the NFL felt like there were three coaches that didn't do it this weekend. Vic Fangio, Denver Call Shanahan, San Francisco. And Pete Carroll in Seattle. It find each those head coach is $100,000 and find each of those teams $200,000 over a million dollars in fines for not wearing mess and the league might not be done after watching tonight's game, ESPN insider Adam Schefter, noting the three coaches who have been fined. NFL: Two head coaching hires in 10 minutes

"The draft before the combine. We still have several weeks. NFL Action to go. We have some new coaches join. Join the NFL. As recently as this afternoon and joining me to talk about that and the playoff games is our friend with the Atlantic Lindsay Jones Lindsay. How are you? I'm good oh how are you. I'm good I thought this was going to be kind of a quiet day in the NFL landscape and then suddenly to head. Coaching hires in the matter of ten minutes. This morning Matt rule going to the panthers. Joe Judge going to the giants after Mike McCarthy was named cowboys coach earlier this week. So let's start with today's news. Let's start with Matt rule who gets a seven year deal. What sixty seventy million dollars? A lot of money. Samat rule to leave Baylor and come work for the Carolina Panthers. Yeah I mean it sounded like one of those Offers you can't refuse type of situation where I think he's GonNa have a lot of power he's also got a lot of money and A lot of years to do To do what the panthers to do. It's not quite a Jon. GRUDEN ten years one hundred million dollar type of deal but David Tepper is showing that he is not afraid to spend a lot of money to invest very heavily in his head coach and head coach You know when everything else that they're doing I mean they're building a brand new practice facility. They're building the indoor facility. I mean they're spending a lot of money Darren Charlotte and you know I. It was interesting that there was kind of story that also came out. The rule wanted to kind of bring that offer back to the giants Because he was going to interview with the giants as well but The giants said okay. We're going to hire JOE judge instead of paying Instead of hiring not rule it six years seventy million dollars or whatever it is so Really really interesting. Move there Bell what are you. What was your initial? Take on it. I guess and then I'll I'll go with yours it. I think it's interesting in that. I'm not gonNA pretend that I am someone who has watched every Baylor game this year. I've watched a little bit and I've read up a Matt Rule Essay coaching candidate. Now for the past two years of course rule was very very nearly the jets head coach last year before jazz blocked him hiring his own offensive coordinator which point he stepped out of that process and they hired Adam Gates move. That has worked out brilliantly for the jets of course in the afterward with that rule. I think there are certainly elements of a a run first attack. I think he is not someone who is seen as a a progressive offensive minded. They've run EARNHARDT Peos this year. He has seen that as sort of a you know. I can't deal with the devil to run as much of the rushing game as he wants to and I think that's very interesting given what we have. In Carolina we have Christian McCaffrey who's entrenched is the best running back in football at the moment. We Have Cam Newton who I think you know certainly seems like this offer. This higher would probably be good for him in a way back for him in a way. Oh you know good in that. The run first attack does seem to favor can if he can be a player who does impact game with his leg. Still which we don't know coming back from injury but it's pretty clear that you know if Matt rule wants to move on from Cam Newton. He's going to have plenty of time to move on and higher higher or or or or sign up backup quarterback or assigned a young quarterback or draft a quarterback and give that guy a time to develop so I kind of feel of two minds. It's for this when it comes to the biggest decision for the second the second biggest decision the panthers have to make this office and I don't know how you feel about do you do. What does this mean for you for Cam Newton? Yeah I I think the first thing is just how healthy is he gonNA be. What's his time? Line going to be like their That's the thing that just is over everything and has been over everything for the panthers for going on two years now I still think he's GonNa be back and and I've been I've been thinking about this a lot over the last few few days I've been writing about brees and Brady and thinking about all of the potential quarterback moves that we're gonNA see the offseason and well this time of year. It's really fun fun to speculate about. All the potential moves and this year is more interesting than any quarterback off season that I can remember and maybe ever certainly certainly as long as my nfl institutional memory is But ultimately moving on from a quarterback and guy who's taking you to a super bowl who's won an MVP Without some sort of really solid plan in place is it's a really hard at it. It's so rare that it happens so ultimately I think he ends up being back. I think he's there's so many things that you can do with him if he's going to be healthy but that if he's going to be healthy is just the biggest question that's been out there and We're not going to know that for a couple abundance I guess the good news is that they don't have to make that move or decision on Cam Newton. Today I mean they they really can can wait a couple of months but ultimately. I think that there are better team with him. And the options outside of him are just not that great. I mean. There's some intriguing names out there but I just think I don't think you're GonNa do better than Cam. Newton Can A new. There's even seventy five percent of the quarterback that he was in two thousand fifteen when he was at his peak. Yeah or even the guy who was playing well in the first half of two thousand eighteen. I think that can traffic is still really good There's a definitely interesting sort of dichotomy with that rule or I guess not a paradox. In that he is a very conservative. Very first coach. But we've we've seen in the report effortless. Hire one of the reasons that the panthers were able to Land Matt run into the panthers was because they're making a huge investment in sports science. You mentioned the practice facility being built there. I mean it seems like it's a you know. This is the the beginning of a major infrastructure shift for the panthers to being an organization that they wanNA emulate the steelers and they wanna be simultaneously Eh analytics friendly at the same time so I think it was going to be a really interesting sort of narrow path to hit their where they are a run for his team which is typically considered to be sort of a antiquated or old school notion but making it work and so I think in the long run. They might end up being more similar to the Ravens. Who seemed to embody all those things right now in the steelers? Yeah I mean that's absolutely the franchise right now that you want to emulate if you look at WHO's doing it the best right now from both play on the field but also what they're doing inside their building and the the mindset that they have with the type of people that they hire The way that they make all their decision I think it's the Ravens and I guess that comes from the steelers family and that's so so that's what he's familiar with. But I think the other thing that we we didn't talk about was not rule that we just really have to mention. Is that while we can talk about schematics. And look at his Ex's knows and yes he's run I but you know what college offenses he bringing those sorts of things. I think the biggest reason that he was this really hot. NFL Coaching candidate over the last two years. This is his reputation. That's kind of a program builder and The work that he did at temple the way that he really kind of overhauled Baylor over the last two the three years when they were really a disaster The the way he interacts with players You know he brought his father and his former pastor and coach and you know I just think that Dad's what made him so attractive in addition to obviously like the the the skills that he has. It's an actual you know coach but You know I think we get so caught happen. Like what exactly is this. Guy's offense going to look like or what exactly is this guy's defense gonNa look like when really what owners and management are looking at is. What's this Guy's vision? How is he going to interact after everything everybody in the building? How does he relate to players What is his vision? All those sorts of things not really why they came out rule You know a bunkers you you know seventy million dollar contract Jack. Think that's very fair and I think that's really what they're bringing matt rule to do. I mean this is a guy who they think is going to overhaul everything about the panthers. The culture is going to change not that rhinovirus culture was bad. Obviously it worked for a long time but I think you know this is going to be a eighteen. An organization top to bottom built in in the vision of Matt Rule on the other side of things You think about the hiring. The giants made today in Joe Judge who granted. I think there's been that those sort of initial tweets coming out the wide receivers coach. He's really special teams coach. He is not good for one year. He has been the Patriot special teams coach for a long time. He has worked under Bill Bell. Check US worked under Nick Sabin. Those are pretty successful people to work underneath and yet it sort of seems like not. Maybe this is wrong to say but it seems like this higher is out of nowhere. Is that fair to say a little bit. I mean he was.

Jalen Ramsey Active, Will Start for Jaguars vs. Titans After Requesting Trade

"Moving onto jalen Ramsey he wants out of Jacksonville unfortunately for him he will be playing against the dines tonight for Jacksonville in Jacksonville the Jags all pro cornerback has requested a trade but we'll be active again with the trade seemingly coming sometime after the game so C. C. which contender should try to acquire Jalen Ramsey. I don't mean I it doesn't have to be a contender tender for me right now. We only played two games. Everyone's a contender the giants I think we make a quarterback's which we right back into this but I think there are certain places that would be better perform. I think the raiders Jon Gruden got the CAP space. They got a really young teen. They could use the corner play. They could also use a star going to Las Vegas the Tennessee Titans. I do believe coach coons. He was a legendary highschool coach coach at Ohio State. He only coastal hieaux until last year we took the job in Tennessee variable who has experienced at Ohio state went there and got him. He is a great defensive back coach in his hometown there with the Titan the raiders are the titans feel are the smoothest transitions for him for a guy that has that type of skill set big corner wants to play a lot of man to man and as we said before he's from Tennessee and wants to go back there and anytime if you can get a big time star like that in a smaller market like Tennessee yeah I think that they should look into that particularly when he's listed the titans previously before the season as a place he'd like to play sometimes you worry big-time star. Would he be happy going to a small market the size of the market in Jacksonville's not why he's unhappy and because of his roots in Tennessee he has already said Nashville would be a place. He wants to thirty proven that he can get national attention no no matter no matter what I mean he's he's one of the star players in the league and one of the faces of the League that we have on the defensive side of the ball one team you mentioned yesterday for I give a couple of others that that I thought really interesting was Philly Philly. Obviously is a contender philly that is the place where they need. I would argue help the most on the back end of their defense particularly the corners because is I liked now. Come Jenkins. I understand we're talking about phillies injuries those they deal with spate of season ending injuries for Philadelphia with how active Howie Roseman has been and how great he's been at almost manipulating the cap to free up space when they need it you would mention philly yesterday that to me is a really interesting fit. It would be something that if you're the Dallas cowboys and you see wait eagles got who the Eagles got jalen Ramsey at the not even at the deadline a month into the season that could be a game changer. I'M GONNA mention a team no one's attaching them to but I think they have the space the picks they have the need. What about the Los Angeles Angeles chargers now maybe they don't WanNa pay Jalen Ramsey they all they're going to have to pay Joey Bosa two guys but they have the cap space to do it? They they are right now. They know that last year they were this close to being the number one seed in the AFC Derwin James is going to come back at some point at the end of the season they already have an extraordinary corner in Casey Hayward but they're starting a guy who was an undrafted free agent couple years ago at the other corner spot if you added few had Casey Hayward Jalen Ramsey Ramsey winter when James comes back that immediately becomes far and away the best secondary in the NFL well for one next year to pay Joey Bosa Casey's already already making a bunch of money Derwin James you already know you're going to have to pay him now. Both of those guys being from Florida state sometime. You think that oh well. Maybe that would work well. Maybe that might Mike not work so I don't know they haven't been the most contract friendly to their player. Philip rivers doesn't have a contract so to me. That's a lot of money that a team that is not customary to pay a lot of money. I don't think they would have that kind of money tied up in their secondary. Just two more teams quickly obviously yesterday. We talked a lot about the chiefs. It's for the cheap since the best player available at the biggest position of need but I do think the chiefs would have real cap issues with that Patrick mahomes going to become the highest paid player forever a year from now. They paid tyreek Hill. They went they paid frank. Clark may be above market. Sammy Watkins they can get off him next year. If they want to play really well race you're adding the highest paid corner in. NFL history was what Jalen is going to become would be tough to keep an eye on the colts though called I mean the colts have enormous cap space the draft capital. They're obviously going to try to win without being a super explosive offense the culture. If I'm Chris Ballard with Andy I am calling Jacksonville and bill and trying to take their temperature on that but he plays his last game tonight for the Jaguars most likely absolutely that would be my guess about eight players to borough road

"This story's kinda just coming out a little bit ago apparently the producer of Antonio brown's hype video yup blood came out Friday night said the Jon Gruden did approve their phone conversation in the video before it was released to social media I'm sure it's probably true in the guy has a Twitter handle that's like able to stick or something like that who did the did the video for Antonio brown he's he's trying to live up the hype right now I guess as well in all he was a good looking video has a congrats on the production value you know it's still a cringe worthy video in like how out of touch with reality it is put it great great production value well that doesn't everything looks better when you put in black and white dramatic music behind it doesn't put a little market context now that we know what he was trying to do. I mean we we knew that we do I mean well we don't really know you wanted off the raiders like we do know we want to play for. you kind of knew that was the moment though that I mean up until that point it wasn't the the the cryo feeds off the showing up in a hot air balloon the not bothering to come to practice the thread you put your general manager the face and called him a cracker and that putting a football leaving practice again but any of the term full apology that something is like until market I'll tears sure sure and of course like you said in context now I feel way different about it but when we're on the air Friday night before the video broke down the broke out we we both said like okay I guess he's gonna play and looks like he's going to be there I don't think you're gonna walk away from thirty million dollars which in essence he didn't put me at that time the waiting here with the safety net but I you know nothing like they're doing with patriot golden parachute to nice but you didn't you didn't really think you like didn't want to be a raider did beginning in actuality bees quit on the calendar year he quit on the Steelers the court a buffalo before you got there they could operators he's gonna quit on patriots but the going gets tough I can't wait to see the drama there I I can't you know if there's any one team but I'd like to throw dynamite the fish tank for it's in the win the patriots. a special promotion last night my goodness yeah the authority settling went off and the one team that doesn't need him

Did the Raiders contact Antonio Brown's agent before Brown apologized?

"Something i wanted to get to the bottom of was did the raiders in fact contact. Rosenhaus awesome tonio brown's agent. I've seen this kind of float around but i'm not sure that this is what happens i wanted to see if either of you know <hes> if he was contacted before we're antonio brown's apology on friday and told that the guaranteed money and his contract would be voided as it was at that point so at that point basically antonio only lebron's going in apologizing knowing that the thirty million is a hit is that something that we know was already told to him before the apology or i don't i think to <hes> the bottom line on that is that they didn't have to i mean he knows as well as anybody once they imposed that discipline. They have the right to go after it so i mean i think he's smart enough to know without having that conversation that that was what they were angling for. It was clear we talked about <hes> when we first saw these letters on wednesday basically all those letters. There's are is is a legal paper trail down the road to say here's what happened. We had we had these issues. We had to find him. This is what went on that's all. Those letters are for <hes> so i think rosenhaus kind of knew he probably explai- tube and there i'm positive on some level even though no it's illegal according to the rules of the n._f._l. Under the c._b._a. I'm positive that rosenhaus was talking to other teams and saying if this happens if the contract is voided if for run out what is the market and i'm sure he knew what it was and so like. Did he know those things. I don't. I'm sure he did was explicitly laid out by the raiders. I'm i'm not sure about how that worked but <hes> i'm sure he knew exactly what the situation was yeah so in other words. He knew the patriots were looking at him and that he could play there. Air instead of explicitly said i'm sure he knew what the market was. When you think of maybe this is like a wild theory and so. I got on tin foil hat. You're so picture that all of us but if <hes> excuse me antonio brown got to the raiders he was happy happy for a little while then started practicing with these guys right maybe gets the training camp and he's like what they're not going to be very good and then he's just decides besides you know what bleep this. I'm just going to act ugly. I'm gonna throw crap all over the walls until i'm just going to keep doing it. Even though you tell me to stop even though you tell me you know i'm gonna find you find me on posting on instagram like i'm going to now make it even bigger mess and then he knows that he enforce himself out because he knows that there's maybe a winner. That will be there for him. I think that it's not out of their own with possibility as i now take my tinfoil hat off and put my reporter reporter hat right back on that. This is something that could have happened because when it's five hours after somebody releases you that you are with defending super bowl champions. There's maybe somebody should look into that right. I mean i think i went once the further with my tin foil will happen i tweeted and it was more of a joke but <hes> as as everything in my life does it relates to seinfeld but there was there was an episode of seinfeld where the mets wanted to hire george costanza away from the yankees and they couldn't just hire him because it would be tampering and they wouldn't be able to go hire them away from team so they told him to do everything he could to get fired from the yankees. He started dragging the world series trophy around he was wearing babe ruth pants from the yankee museum. <hes> everything do get fired so that the mets would be able to hire him like in my mind. Bella check like a go create chaos out there. We need to bring you in. That's the only way we can get you and that's again a complete and total conspiracy. Uh but i like to think that it's true. Let's talk about some of the possible reaction and we can expect here from the raiders because i wanna in a hypothesize what derek carr might say about antonio brown's tweet of bumper cars meaning. He and his brother david had been doing some conversation about antonio brown. That's what i interpreted that tweet demean. I can't imagine it would mean anything else so cars generally very nice well-spoken guy in front of the media very even temperament. Do we expect any crazy reaction from him. Certainly not i mean he's a quarterback right and quarterbacks are always is going to be measured in what they say. Now i do sort of wish that we have been hearing directly from derek carr instead of through really an intermediary as his brother on n._f._l. Network right. I think especially because derek carr was in the locker room today and we were told as he came back in that he was not going to be talking and and that's fine. He certainly has that right and he's a quarterback. He speaks one time a week but i just think it would have been nice to hear directly from derek carr car <hes> since you know he had been nothing but supportive i totally respect dirk are not talking but i think that you know it just it just would have been nice to hear from the quarterback in that particular situation and he doesn't have to but he could've essentially descending out press releases. I mean through his approach. That's what he's doing in. They're not it's not it's not like they're being secretive about it. I think that's that's the one thing i'll say about this is like if it was just some secret that if it was some random person in the media and derek carr was feeding things to get it out there and not talking to the media locally but hey i'm gonna feed this to whoever you you know whatever national reporter and it's coming out saying oh source close to the team said like that would be a little bit different to me than in this case. It's basically his brother going on tv serving mrs mouthpiece and saying explicitly. I talked to derrick this morning. Here is what he said. I think they're being pretty open about it. It just it clearly rubbed antonio radio brown the wrong way and you know we saw the other day he unfolded the raiders and derek carr on instagram and then reformed the raiders but not car like that was pretty telling of where they are have a check dam sure he unveiled the raiders as well now he did. Yes yeah <hes> but you know. I think that was incredibly telling that when he did follow the raiders he did not re follow derek carr. You know i it was pretty clear that that relationship was was heading in the wrong way. Even though derek carr continued to say how close they were and how they've played well after field and here's the other thing it listen it's part of the job we understand but how many times jon gruden was asked how many times micmac was asked just how many times derek carr was asked about the distractions in about everything that's going on and how many times they basically said. You're inventing this you guys the media are inventing the story story. No no weren't by the way to the same thing to the readers out there to the fans out there like these things are not invented. There's a reason isn't that story. Lines are storylines. This was something that was going on and it was bubbling over all the time and it was distracting the team. It was bothering the team. It certainly had been an issue for a while and now it just has has reached that point where they couldn't deal with it anymore but i think it would absolutely not be surprising if it was something that tonio earlier brown was like i need to do this i need to get out and this is my way out and the other thing is it wasn't blown out of proportion either. That's the that's the phrase that like gets on my nerves a little bit. <hes> men like all these things you're saying. They were blown out of proportion. It's blown out of proportion. He's just a wide receivers blown out of proportion. Friggin von miller said that on on a conference call the other day no. It's not blown out of proportion when you're yelling at g._m. In practice right you're posting your fines on instagram. When you ask on instagram to be released win. You recorded your ahead coach with a stencil your head coach with the conversation. Put it on a two minute youtube video in a two party consent state. I don't really think any of these things are being blown out of proportion so i love what jonathan abram had to say on twitter and he put this out just about a little over an hour ago he says in today's world the worst drug there is called attention

"I've had for quite some time Adams answer your questions to civically about what's up with Jon Gruden what Jon Gruden RJ dig this. Jon Gruden was never that could have coach he inherited a hall of fame defense, Warren Sapp who was a linebacker Derrick Brooks who. Yeah. Brooks. I mean Brooks had a pick six every single game. And and they had who was the other linebacker. Well, no, they had well Sino mean Lynch was on the Lynch. They had Tiki twin brother Iran day barber. The guy won the SuperBowl wasn't even one of those guys. He was like a safety Dexter something by point is he went twelve and four that year inherited a hall of fame stacked defense from twenty Dungy after that with Tampa Bay. He had a losing record the rest of his career Tampa Bay and never won another playoff game. Again. I don't think he's actually coach. Yeah. You know, the guy on it. I know he's a friend of the show is Mike Lombardi is one of three or four guys. I in the media that I really know the inside of football. And he writes about Gruden is in his book. He says an excellent and elite quarterback coach not necessarily a great head coach, which is an executive function not so much a tactical function. So. I think ruins more of a technician they just got so famous that he's now that coach by the way as much as Brian would like to take credit for that theory. He was reading a text that my wife had sent or. Word this morning because believe me, I've heard this speech syllable for syllable about their Brooks being shutdown plagiarism and Lynch my phone shelling. All right, sorry last pick where the raiders and on the raiders in one main reason for this. Reuters playing hard that's obviously just wine because if the series get the Vegas every win count people there tanking they're not taking they're just trying to get to values. And then you probably saw Lamar Jackson. He ran the ball for Baltimore twenty seven times and possible the quarterback nineteen you'd never see that. No. And it was a surprise last week this week. It's not gonna be a surprise. It's going to be a low scoring game. We're getting double digits plus eleven raiders pick number two. All right. Thank you are Jay bell. And you can check out the website pre game dot com, ever great. How they are..

"It into patch. Make it into something good everybody, even Mahomes was inconsistent buddy missed squeezy, est. One to me. I mean, Mahomes when you watch him play. It didn't even look like football. I couldn't believe some stuffy would do he'd yell that from throw and it didn't matter because they need to score sixty. It was so that kind of the gap you're talking about from kind of projecting these guys in an NFL system and watching them in professional football. He was the hardest one. But the other one that's quietly a huge jump Jared Goff played in one of the most air raid heavy systems, you can possibly imagine. Sonny dykes is an area truth. And now Jared Goff is under center. Two-thirds the time. These things can have could you imagine going from the area to Jeff Fisher? They were joking with us the other day, my working theory. So his Jeff Fisher's last before NATO's were rob Verona rubber on a date, yet significant cool. I don't know where they are. They may have been just. John Brian Schottenheimer's name. It was like I would start asking around not that I'm plugged in NFL as you guys and what is wrong with this. Like, how does it keep happening? They go actually like Jeff has a hard time filling out of staff. And so that was that was the golf thing. You know, look, I mean that first year Gough got so bad. We started hearing Fisher rumors through the media that he'd always wanted once. Hugh Jackson, loses his gaze. Well. I liked Mahomes Watson and went like, that's pretty convenient. None of the guys you took. All right before we do some QNA stuff. We get some other things that I wanna get to here. I wanna do a little bit of this. Who would you rather be? Okay. And because we're in Vegas, and we haven't touched on yet. Do we have a lot of raiders fans here ready to go you guys psyched about what you're important? I'm so sorry bay two story. I feel like I heard nothing. I'm not even exaggerating. Who would you rather be right now? I think what the money it's not fair, but Jon Gruden or Jason Garrett. This is mean, it's Gruden. It's grew because the money, but that's the only reason I also this is more. But I was reading the other day. Warming is going to really you'd be in twenty twenty eight around when Gruden his contract is over. So he made this ride this into the. We don't have to look back on this era or anything like that. And it's going to be fine. I think it's probably Gruden because the money just all of that stuff. But I also think that Jon Gruden has. No self-awareness. Yeah. So that's probably why it's Gruden to because he doesn't know he's doing a bad job. So it says if he's waking up this bad now granted lake, but nothing makes you moreover Reiter, right but to win a Super Bowl. And then my joke was always like, especially with the NBA coaches like as soon as you went to ESPN, I would be like who do you think you're gonna have working for four months because owners would be at home watch game BA tonight at two AM be like that's a really great point. I'm gonna give Mike Brown. Four years. Mike Mike Brown's on here. Right. With us at ESPN. And that's what happened with Gruden. The raiders thing is a little bit different. Because you feel like it went wrong and you're getting back together, but he became this. Epoch fixable. Just because he had a good personality Monday night football. And that's insane. Steve Kerr is like the exact opposite mystique Kerr's. The actual competent coach came out of the media. But it that two thousand two to three the bucks on super to to Jon Gruden wanna Super Bowl, but you wanna Super Bowl with the greatest past defense in the history of modern football. And that's why as this entire thing was happening. It's while. Yeah. Jon Gruden want a Super Bowl this. And that I still never understood it because giant won a Super Bowl incredible defense, and he was leak for ten years. None of it makes sense. It's gone about as bad as I figured it would go, you know, the group thing was always kind of a weird spot because doing again was there every day..

"Your coins your crypto currency one hour from now blazing five picks. It takes a week with a lot of movement on the lines. I generally don't go after the biggest games, but the biggest games of the one. I like this week. Joy Taylor is joining me on a Friday. Good morning. Good morning to you. This is a usually on Friday. We try to talk about the game last night. Of course, it was a blow out. But that doesn't mean it's not interesting. So let's start with something. We predicted before the season started that Jon Gruden and the raiders would not work. Jon Gruden is great at selling himself. He is. And that is a skill. That is a skill. That's why he's a TV star. Have you watched Monday night football this year, they could use him? And he's missed most great football coaches in NFL history. Are not great at selling themselves. Chuck knoll of the Steelers was not Tom Landry. The Cowboys was not Bill Walsh. Bella check cells Paul Brown. They were not television stars Bill Walsh was actually the late. Bill Walsh is kind of bad on television. Through the sheer force of personality. Jon Gruden has sold himself as the quarterback whisperer. He's had twelve one popped rich Gannon. If you go one for twelve I'm probably going to give the player more of the credit rich Gannon than the coach Jon Gruden. I did think it was interesting and ironic last night that Kyle Shanahan a guy who does not sell himself who is the actual quarterback. Whisper took a guy. None of us myself included head ever heard of and one game in a out over a former pro bowler. Derek carr. But Kyle Shanahan does not sell himself. He doesn't talk. He's kind of rigid. He's a football guy threw in through last night. Jon Gruden is not only not the quarterback whisper. He was the second best quarterback coach in the bay area. Nick Mullins, no idea, Chris Mullin's? I know Nick Mullins, no idea looked brilliant, by the way, dick fi towel in Jon Gruden have something in common. They're both better on TV than they were coaching their sport Vitali like Gruden is an amazing amazing marketer. He is he is. He is the biggest Dame in college basketball. At least was for twenty years. That's not a criticism. Dick was great at selling himself. Chuck Daly wasn't Gregg Popovich isn't Brad Stevens? Doesn't Bill self not so much it? Is a skill to sell yourself. I by the way, the guy in the White House right now got there on shear power personality, not policy. It's a skill and Gruden vital. Trump. They're great at it..

"I know my hands. It's and you always talk about like the giant suck whole suck hole. Right. Look at the size of that suckle. I know it's big do. Pour water right down your end. It's I think the correct term is ergonomically designed look how it's like a like it. It looks like the shape of a kind of an hour glass shape. So it fits in your hand. When you you get done with a set. And you put the bar down your racket. You've got a lot of weight. And then you just like give him a cooler water and fits right in your hand. Love core. Water. You know? Yeah. I I don't know who sounds more silly right now, you are Jon Gruden why what's wrong with John grew. Oh, man. Did you hear him? Did you see them on that inspired effort against the forty Niners? Do you want to talk about rolling over? I mean, do you not know are your players so dumb that? They don't realize that that film was going to be seen by everybody in the league. Like when you get cut by Jon Gruden you to realize that the other teams are going to see the way you played in. It's going to end up eventually costing you money is that just a sign. I mean, is it the sign that nobody wants to play in Oakland or that nobody wants to play for Jon Gruden right now. I so you're signing with Gruden in this because it's as much the players have quit on Gruden as it appears that grund is sick of these players. He doesn't think. All right. So here's the thing before the game grund interview. All right. And it's it's great. It's classic Jon Gruden, but but here's what he had to say about the direction that the raiders are going in. I got a cell phone. Just like you and everybody else I get a lot of phone calls from people that are dying to come and play here..

"But when you hire a TV analyst, who for ten years is a performer, like joy was a waitress for a decade when joy goes to the restaurant after quitting waitressing. She starts pre bussing because it's hard to turn it off forever. Jon Gruden for a decade was a TV performer. You don't mumble. You don't give short answers. You explain. You define you give long enters and it's hard to turn that off. He is still got television analyst in him, and he keeps stepping in it because he believes he has to give a TV answer. No, no, no. Bill Belichick yesterday was asked a question about a book about him. It's got all sorts of juicy details. It's a biography on Bill Belichick. It's that talk at the NFL, but bills never been a TV analyst and would probably be a lousy one and felt no need to perform for the media. Biography of Louis coming out this month finger dissipate. Sure. It's. Because I don't have anything to do with. Focus right now in Detroit, two thousand eighteen football season, like tried to job on that. The football coach who's been up performer is still performing, and this is why I always had questions about Jon Gruden. He's not just football coach. He's a television star, and he was damned good. He's a football coach now, but he is struggling to turn off the TV star performer Bella check who's never been one. Here's the question. He turned it on mute. No reason to give the media an inch. "And I'm always like that doesn't mean anything to me. Show me proof. I keep hearing Jon Gruden. Quarterback guru might take away his Kyle Shanahan. He makes everybody way better. He made RG three got more votes than Andrew luck for rookie of the year is some of this Gruden quarterback guru stuff. It's just the best hamburger in town sold here that it's a lot of brand shouting, but I don't see a ton of proof on it absolute. You put the graphic up about the quarterbacks they'd had in Oakland and in Tampa, and it's there haven't been any distinguished ones out of rich Gannon. Now I play for gruden's first team in ninety eight, Oakland, Jeff. George was there. I was doing rich Gannon came rich Gannon. I played together in Kansas City. Rich Gannon was chiefly responsible for the culture change. Load ruin is. A great coach does a great job of putting together plays, but rich Gannon hilt his teammates to a level of accountability that allowed it to go. We talked about Tom Brady and Belichick. It is a lot easier when your quarterback is able to kind of disseminate the message in Oakland with John grooten. Now we dealing with Derek Carr, can Derek Carr handled a heart coach Gruden typically does and elevate the rest of his team. What is telling about this raider situation with Derek Carr when they dismissed Khalil Mack. Jon Gruden said, we can't have too high priced players. So he basically chose Derek Carr over Khalil Mack. Most people would tell you Khalil Mack is the better player, but now Derek Carr is seen as the best player when the best player and the head coach are together, they're tied at the hip. So everyone is looking at Derek are expected him to make it right. We don't have a good defense. It doesn't matter school more points. We don't have all the weapons, though it in tight windows, make those receivers, catch balls. This is I think the most pressurized moment that. Derek Carr would feel and partly is because Jon Gruden has put him in a situation where he has to be the franchise quarterback, both of they're not jobs, but both of their reputations on the line with how this move turns out the next couple of years further record the I know you like levian bell. I would like to, I would like to go. Here we go. Well is just as little data that you would acknowledge having scouted for the Seahawks. Did you ever go up to Seattle? Oh, it was always there. Umbrellas rain are very valuable. Yes, in Phoenix. So I used to live at Tampa. I had golf Shire's and then I moved to Portland and I had no golf shirts. So value depends often on geographic location. I think the jets should strongly consider with one hundred five million cap space lady in bell. He'd be their best receiver tight end and running back because he grabbed her. Yes, I don't think he's valuable in Pittsburgh. Please. The data please for Bucky Brooks who keeps telling me how great Levy embellishing got pay him? Hell Pittsburgh's better without him yards points games, third down. I on this offense. Honestly, I, it looks nice. It looks that excellent data is is excellent, but here's, here's what I would say. And it came out of the Cleveland locker room. They talked about it. You notice the only scored twenty one points. Yeah, and you notice that big band had a tough game when it came to throwing three turnovers lot of sacks. Yeah, part of what happened in their game, the Cleveland Browns had James garner. You can have whatever you want. We go take big being away. We're gonna. Take the explosive plays away. The explosive plays in the National Football League. Come through the passing game. You have to throw to score. You run stuff to move the ball down the field to set up the big place. What happens with James. Connor James, Connor is not a multifaceted weapon like levian Bill. So t's will go in and say, look, we'll let him eat, but we'll take care of AB. We'll make sure we take your juju and we will make been rothlisburger half the drive. The link to feel thowing short passes is e patient and disciplined enough to do it throughout his career. He traditionally hasn't, which is why he didn't like Todd Haley because Todd Haley wanted to play small ball because. What the great quarterbacks drew Brees Tom Brady they win because they think they'd be to a paper cuts. He likes to hit you with the big thing..

"My friend, I am doing well looking. Ford to Jon Gruden Chucky cookies back and he's coming to our town here in Denver, and everybody's all excited about the return of Jon Gruden are you? I listen, here's the thing I love. Here's the thing that you have to understand about coaching. We get to this coaching tree up Bill, Bella check, you know? And we say, well, none of his coaches, whether it was Charlie weis or Romeo Cornell or Josh mcdaniels you know, now all of a sudden you get blown out in your first game. Matt, Patricia can't coach and. I think one of the big things you gotta understand is authenticity. You gotta be authentic. You gotta be you. You can't come in and be a Bill Belichick disciple, and all of a sudden thank you Bill Belichick and be bell check in, you know, and back in New England, we did in back in New England and back in New England and back in New England and eventually players go shut up. I'm sick of here. I don't like New England. I'm sick of hearing about, you know, back in New England, you did this. You know what really one you games back in New England as guy named Tom Brady is back in New England. So quick, give me the back in New England stuff, right? But I think coaches fall into that. And then all of a sudden the perception is you're just fake one thing about Jon Gruden and like I was around Jon Gruden for years at ESPN, did a lot of things with Jon Gruden over the years. That whole Chucky thing is not an act. That's that's exactly the way he talks. That's exactly how he is. That's. I mean, that's what he is. The thing that the guy you saw on television, whether it was the quarterback Cam thing that he did on ESPN or Monday night football. It's exactly the way he is. That's the way he talks. Although, you know there's a far more course words that are thrown out there during the course of day-to-day basis when he's not on television, but that's exactly the way he operates. So one thing about Jon Gruden is he's authentic Mike. And to me, that's why ultimately he'll be successful because he is authentic. Now, coaches like that. There's usually kind of two types of players that play for him. He's my best coach, the best coach I've ever had our, he's the worst coach I've ever had. You can either handle his personality handle him getting, you know, in your ass on a consistent basis, you can handle that or you can't handle that, but I'll give this to to Chucky men. He is exactly who you see. Okay. Yeah, I don't doubt that he's authentic as a personality, but I just think that his impact is a coach is overrated because if you go back to his last six years in Tampa, he was a below five hundred coach. He was oh into in the playoffs. What we know is that. He can win with good players. He want a Super Bowl with a team that here inherited in Tampa. He's like every other decent coach in the NFL. You're only as good as your players and Oakland is, as you said, the oldest team in the NFL and they don't have the kind of talent that they need. They just got rid of maybe their most talented player and Khalil Mack. And I just think that raider nation is getting sold a bit of a con here that they're being sold on the mystique of Gruden, which is really kind of an illusion. You know what I mean? It's kind of like you'll pay no attention to the wizard, the man behind the curtain. And so I think raider fans are thinking that they're getting this impact with Gruden when when all you're getting is a guy that I think Mark Davis hired to simply serve as the diversion until the raiders can get to Vegas and they can start printing money money that they don't have right now as evidenced by them giving up. Wheel MAC. So I just think that the the impact of Gruden is overrated and raider fans don't seem to see that they're buying the diversion line and sinker..

"Don't get it. Listed Jon Gruden don't it's agent now. I mean his agent works, Johnny. Jon Gruden mandates that you pay him a premium mandate chip Kelly. Chip Kelly, Jeffrey Laurie. The got along with the coach for fifteen plus years. The ups and the downs lot more absolute. Andy Reid Andy's much easier to deal with stood by them. They had one of the more consistent organizations in the NFL remember chip in and how he had the famous break-up Jeffrey Lurie going into weeks, seventeen chips. Third year said chip, so the security guard up their pack, your stuff, put it in a box and get out of my building leaf chip was fire. I mean, it was a pretty famous firing within three weeks. Jed York was offering him another job. So in chips, mine. Yeah, I failed. But Jeffrey was the idiot. How was the crazy guy jed York lanning up to pay him again? Then a year later after the Niners him out because he was godawful Casey, Wasserman, one of the richer, heavy hitters in Los Angeles and Troy Aikman NFL royalty were kissing his ass to come coach at UCLA. So like Jon Gruden, how would chip Kelly have any sense of reality and have to do any inward thinking I got to improve every time he fails. People are lined up to hire, and here's the thing with both those guys. I was a little younger when Jon Gruden was coming up with the raiders. We watch all those NFL films even when he was the offense of coordin- coordinator with the eagles. He had an f. edge to them when I went through scouting the when he was coaching organ chip Kelly had a massive edge to him. Both of those guys really at something to prove it never felt like it was about the money with either. Now, a young Jon Gruden, the NFL coaches. And just in general, we're not making anywhere near what they make. Now, chip Kelly was making more money, but it never felt like when he was at Oregon, like wasn't really about the money. He had no life remembered. They were pictures of his house. He had no furniture just grinder. Well, over this period of time, Geoffrey Laurie pays them a boatload fires him to go away. Jed York is immediately there to pay him another twenty five million a year later. Casey Wasserman and Troy Aikman are lined up to pay him again. Jon Gruden has gotten so rich chip Kelly has gotten so rich. You cannot tell me both those guys that have this massive kind of, you know, chip on their shoulders proving to the world, how great they were going to be even as their ego grew in the prime of their coaching careers. They just had a massive edge to them. They carried themselves a little differently, but I think they had a lot of similarities. You cannot tell me that money and I'm not saying that they still don't work as hard. Like I said, I, I don't know if gruden's quit because they're three in the morning. But he works long hours. I, I've always heard chip works heart, not disputing their work ethic, but their EDS there, the edge that Nick Sabin the Bill Belichick that Andy Reid still has the edge for these two guys is gone. And it's because of money. They have gotten to rich. They've gotten to rich. Both of I'm watching chip Kelly, get his ask kick by Oklahoma, listen, I'm not saying UCLA should beat Oklahoma. He just looks apathetic. They're on the sideline. Just kinda stare. If Casey Wasserman Troy Aikman fired him tomorrow, he just cumulated like ninety million dollars in a six year span. What does he care to chip Kelly at Oregon? I always heard in a blowout win if he player screwing around on the sideline. He would like them up the chip. Kelly icy now doesn't have Jon Gruden. Who stood up on the podium early January one is higher. We're going to win..

"We have the tickets. Let's let's start out with Jon Gruden and chip Kelly, because I think they have a little something in common. And when you look around football and the explosion of money in the league, trying to coach his make a ton of money Bill Belichick. No one knows a salary. I'd be shocked if it's not like over twelve million dollars, Nick saving ten million bucks, Jim Harbaugh a ton of cash. But the one thing that does Andy Reed's making huge money forever. Daboh Sweeney urban Meyer all these coaches. The one thing they all have in common though is they never left the industry. So they're edged while they making money. They never kind of left the bubble of football and just kinda got a feel for, wow, there's more out there. I don't need the kind of work as hard. Wow. You can do other things in life than just sit at the office twenty four, seven. And I think when you see Jon Gruden and chip Kelly, Jon Gruden this season, these last ten days for Jon Gruden have been an absolute train wreck. I mean, an absolute utter trainwreck trading Khalil Mack, and then you know, lying in with Lisa Saulters for the nation to see the Khalil. Mack did not want to be a raider. Let's just unequivocally false. Then to the Monday night football game where he just lost in the second half. Then the following day after an embarrassing loss signing Martavis Bryant, who he had previously traded for third round pick and in cut before the season, very Al Davis like move. And then chip Kelly who one of the more hype coaches in recent memory. When I was scouting, I went through the university of Oregon, whereas with the eagles it was before we hired him and the program was absolutely home, and he was the apple of everyone's..

"Got your dude. Now fixed that offensive line get a tight end draft another running back. But you got your dude. Let me shift to Jon Gruden. I've been a doubter since day one. I have been a doubter since day one and let me say first of all, Oakland, the organization, it'd be tougher Bella check to win their this is this is not easy. They actually are being sued by their city. They don't really know where they're going to play next year. Last night, my wife said, is that a baseball stadium they're playing in and I said, yes, and it's actually not only a bad football stadium. It's the worst baseball stadium. So the raiders are playing in a baseball stadium, and it's also the worst. They tarp off the upper deck that got the poorest owner. You know what the raiders stadium right now is the restaurant. My wife refuses to go into because the bathrooms are filthy and the floors are dirty. It's hard to win there. But that wasn't good. That wasn't good last night. Second, half, no communication, Derek Carr, receivers, Gruden, no communication. Outscored Twenty-three. Nothing second half. And by the way, the Rams didn't play any of their top players in preseason. They didn't play any of them. The Rams had the fewest starters taking snaps of any team in the NFL in the preseason. So they needed a first-half to warm up on the road and they did, and then it was like embarrassing. And I'm not saying it's easy because outside a linebacker, the Rams are good everywhere, and even at linebacker it's not like it's a massive liability. They are loaded in the secondary loaded defensive line, terrific, offensive line superstar, running back way above average, wide receivers in a really good head coach and a top defensive coordinator. And Jared Goff is really special. So I'm not saying it's easy. The raiders are a mass and the Rams are exceptional. I mean, the Rams last year had the coach of the year. They had the offensive player of the year. They had the defensive player of the year. They the special teams coach of the year. They're good and the raiders a mess. But ten penalties in the first half, no adjustments couldn't score in the second half lack of communication, Derek Carr called a two time out two and a half minutes into the game that wasn't good. I didn't by the Jon Gruden higher. I like him as a broadcaster, and I thought he was a fine coach, but I do think his brand has always been better than his accomplishments. But last night twenty years ago. Jon Gruden was Sean McVeigh. Last night. Jon Gruden was schooled by Sean McVeigh. Good sometimes can be difficult. What's the difference between? Good, pretty good, really good, bad, bad food, bad movie, bad restaurant, bad traffic. You can spot that bad coaching that looked second-half. Detroit look like a poorly coach team and Oakland in the second half looked like they got completely absolutely out-schemed out communicated and worked. Didn't by the higher still don't buy it. Maybe it'll all come together in Vegas. Coming up next Rod Woodson hall of Famer strong opinions.

"And that's not the way it worked as a head coach. It is a series of working with other people. To add onto that. They gave them a ten year contract which removes him even more from other people. Nobody gets a ten year contract. He's got the longest contract, the richest contract it makes him unreliable. He's got ultimate power. In fact, he's got more power than the owner, certainly more than the general manager, because if the owner came and said, you're fired, he'd say, here's my attorney OB eight, nine more years. Look, even Bill Belichick has to answer to somebody even Nick Sabin this weekend in urban Meyer in the last two weeks have had to answer to somebody. Jon Gruden doesn't feel like a coach. You know what he feels like. He feels like an emperor that doesn't work. Steve Kerr has to answer to people. Bill Belichick had to trade Jimmy Garoppolo and didn't want to the further removed. You are from your staff, your general manager, your star players, the worse, it gets you're living in a tunnel, you're isolated. I mean, we've all worked for, I mean, even NFL owners joy have to answer to somebody NFL owners. Have to answer to people. They got to answer to Roger Goodell. Jerry Jones has slapped on the wrist by Roger Goodell. Bob Kraft has been slapped on the wrist by Roger Goodell. Even owners have to answer to people. NBA owners have to answer to Adam silver, John gruden's. The only guy in sports didn't have answered anybody that's an emperor. That's not a coach, joy, Taylor, the news. Turn on the news. This is the third line news, Nathan Peterman starting quarterback for the bills. They ended their summer long quarterback competition and name's Nathan Peterman one starter over Josh Allen. Listen to Sean McDermott on the decision. Nate. Nate is earned the right thought his total body of work all the way back from from the spring through the summer and fall camp to this point. You know, he, he certainly earned the right. You know, we should not be defined by our worst moment..

"Let's bring in LT to the show. It is great to have him on and by the way, you know what I'm thinking this morning when I'm driving to work and I'm seeing Jon Gruden Damian seeing Jon Gruden say, now we're going to move on and get draft picks in my takeaway is okay. Jon Gruden is sort of an emperor. Even Bella check has to answer. A craft Nick Sabin had to answer to the media Gruden now doesn't answer to anybody. He's got more power. The owner gave them a ten year contract. So even if the owner gave John crap, he'd be like Yomi one hundred million dollars. I think they've almost given Gruden too much power. That's what it feels like to me was about him. It's about him by him and you need players to win games and he's gonna find that out very quickly. And you know what happened to the days of drafting a God, developing a God to be the best guy a player in the National Football League. And then Pandey got what happened to those days. All of a sudden, you know, you switch coaches and you have no Dalal if that was the quarterback, if it was Derek Carr, Jon Gruden would have reached out to him immediately and say, new coach now come talk to me. This is your best player talking about how do you not reach out to him and say, hey, let's stop. Dala. What are the issues? How can I help you? We want you to be here for a long time. You don't even call the guy by the way the Rams with Aaron Donald were reportedly talking to his people or Aaron every day, like the Rams were like, we know it looks bad in the press, but apparently according to reports, I read this weekend. The Rams were in constant communication with Aaron, Donald. It sounds like Gruden was there was no communication, and I wonder how it plays in the locker room. Listen, I wouldn't pay every defensive player a lot of money. It's an offensive leak. I've always said for years and years. I wouldn't pay wide receivers too much money. It's a perimeter player. I like around the further you get from the football. I don't wanna pay guys, but once you get to quarterback right in the offense of line, right generally, NFL teams are looking for pass rushers. I mean Khalil Mack to me is a once in a decade guy. You'll never get another. I mean, I could say this the raiders will never have a pass rusher as talented as Khalil Mack for a decade ago made the all pro team in both positions. Like when I said effort been done or are you kidding me? And he stabilizes everything. Gonna defense, you close out games in the fourth quarter with pass rushers. We did it when my time with the chargers, even Montagne with digest. We have Pash Russia's that closed out games for us. And who else do they have? Can you? I can't answer that question. Who is the other Pash rusher Bruce Irvin Bruce Irvin. Okay. Okay. Okay. So he's gonna have to have a hell of a year. Okay. So you played with the chargers in a jet. Sam darnold was named starting quarterback for the jets and was we were talking amongst ourselves this morning, and I said this ladainian guys that have succeeded in New York. Think about this jeeter ally. Phil Simms, Aaron, judge, and I start naming Mariana. Vera? What. In a city that generates its own energy and excitement..

"The players weren't as in powered but players today and rightfully so have an opinion because we go to these games for the players, not the GM scouts and coaches. Jon Gruden will figure out all the football stuff. I don't think you'll figure it out immediately. He'll be a little rigid. It'll take a little while it did for Joe Gibbs. But the world's changing now. And that's what worries me about the Khalil Mack situation. The best defensive player arguably in the NFL and Jon Gruden isn't talked to him since February. That's not a schematic thing. That's a personality thing. That's the way it used to be thing. It used to be the NFL was all about the coach, not even Bill Belichick is calling all the shots in the NFL anymore. You want to call the shots. There's other places to do it. It's not the NFL. It's not the NBA. It's not major league baseball where managers are increasingly replaceable. So I worry when I read this story and I gotta be honest, I, I laughed at the headline. Jared cook says, Jon Gruden is showing the raiders quote, old grainy film from like nineteen seventy six. I just don't think this thing's gonna work long term. It may work for a year. Dare. Eric Carr is an unbelievable quarterback, but I gotta give my staff credit. They found something. I just can't figure out why Jon Gruden is not communicating and can't get a hold of Khalil Mack, but we found out why their communication is so bad Gruden is using America Online. And he's trying to get a hold of Khalil Mack using this device enjoy. It's just not working. Someone's keeps picking up the phone. Yeah, that's what it is to keep starting over. So he's trying to get a hold of Khalil Mack and the connecting. It's not worth. Yeah, it's just not working. Maybe that's Khalil emailing a met. In two thousand eight when Gruden left.
