"The only thing. I i didn't really you know i know the carriers are pretty even but was it. I think it was mostly even even for much of the game. It was williams the entire. They overreacted to what they saw in the preseason and the guy who was so talented when he came out of lsu and then waited a year to come into the nfl Is the real deal. And he's going to have good opportunities moving forward. I don't really think. I think everybody's ready to search march every week. One person on twitter told me. I knew there was a chance i was benched regardless i knew there was a chance he would go off. I had to see it first and that might have been the sentiment that a lot of fantasy managers had with chases they had to see it. I and now that they've seen it they're gonna buy in for awhile. He's bought himself at least three or four weeks. If he has three more bad games has a bunch of drops then people will worry but for now. No one's worried. Yeah i'll tell you should be wearing mile. Sanders really should have had a better game than he had he. I thought he looked good. He had no catches in the first half and the second half. He's getting targets. You had four catches in the game. I began a lot of nice runs. And you know gain well sole touchdown and hurts had some yards i i think mile sanders could end up having a pretty decent year after all. How many of gain wills carries came after the game was kind of out of control. I don't know i can look that up. But his touchdown came after a kind of long miles. I saw that but it would concern me..

I had the chance to watch the falcons offense before we came on the air and once they were down by ten scores. This game was over. The eagles were getting to matt ryan and they had a good zone coverage defense. That kept the big plays from happening. The only two plays all game A fifteen plus yards or more. One of them was by pits. It's the best. Play the game eighteen yards so he needs more targets. He needs more work but that offense figure out a way to beat zone coverage hopkinson absolutely crushing it right now and i think that's probably a little little recency bias right a little reaction a week one but they were obviously close. Just nobody's panicking about calvin ridley. Nobody's taking you know. Amari cooper over calvin ridley. I don't think think. So maybe with the gallup injuries a little bit different but yeah really all right by or sell. I think it's gonna be pretty close buyers but it's not a season long all right all right by herself. All preseason so i'll say i buy too but i don't feel nearly as confident about that one as i do. The hopkinson pits. One because higgins had a good game and he didn't even play the whole game he left. He was dehydrated. He added to stop and then he came back in all right by herself. Corey davis and his ninety seven yards and two touchdowns on just seven targets. Corey davis is set for a monster season. His what it is. It was the top target gutter. The the first touchdown scored was just right place right time type of the deal but the second one was pretty good and i think the jets offense look totally out of sync in the first half. They got their act together in the second. Half gives me optimism for the whole offense but davis looks like he's gonna keep on where he left off.

"That's reality that's reality doesn't mean i'm giving up on him doesn't mean i'm freaking out. It means that the young man has had trouble adjusting to making catches through his first three. Preseason games he could turn it on and week one and we never talked about it again. Never hear from it again and we laugh ten years from now about everybody freaking out about jomar chase dropping balls in preseason his rookie year not overly concerned but it is something to keep an eye on it. It is something you have to monitor. We get into one week one week. Two and jomar chase is still struggling to catch football. Then you have to move it immediately up the list of things. That are a major concern. You drafted him for a reason. You needed him. You need that big play threat outside. I don't feel like we've been given. I don't feel like the offensive line has been removed a concern right but i feel like they at least showed that they're a step up from a year ago so far that it's going to be in a better situation. I guess if you will than they were at this point in time last year when every snap basically look like jailbreak right. Remember that last. Preseason even within borough wasn't in you thought they were going to get the backups. Killed defensively. I think you have to be pleased with what we saw so far through three. Preseason games i defense didn't get a ton of snaps together. But when they were on the field they look pretty good. They didn't look awful. Which is an improvement because much like the offensive line last year. The defense has been awful. Got to be worried about trae. Wayne's got to be concerned but bone lines are open. This is your chance. The fifty three man roster is set. We have seen three preseason games. Where you at. Where are you at in relation to where you thought you would be so weird having a bye week after the final preseason game because you see that final preseason game your mind says all right. I remember this being the topic. And it's and that's what i say it's not about the career which mar chase right now. It's about how long is this going to last until we can move past this. What does that mean for the early part of this this week one to me is about. It's it's third and six. Jomar chase has a ball coming toward him. The bengals needed convert. Doesn't catch it. This isn't about whether he's gonna prove in two three or four years to be worthy of the fifth overall pick. this isn't about him versus peninsula. So this is against the minnesota. Vikings it would help to have a guy playing the the number of snaps that i envision jomar as playing being able to catch the football when it comes his way especially in critical situations. That's all this is about to me. Yes i think you're being fair based on what we saw on friday based on what you guys have had a chance. And you've written about to see in practice. Based on three clumsy drops from brandon allen heath. I moved them quite a bit closer. I was actually just trying to look it up. I've got chase edmunds now. Four picks ahead of marci. So i guess i'd take the running back. I mostly agree that it depends on what you need at that point in the draft. But i'm kinda getting tired all the negativity surrounding chase and i have just completely glossed over the fact that he didn't play football for a year and a half and maybe we should take that into account a little more. It's kind of looks like it's night with trillions and day of you had james connor as a rankings faller. So i thought maybe you'd be a little higher on on chase. Edmunds talk about what. Move going for the razzle-dazzle And and really the offensive line problems. Go back to like two thousand sixteen and this. They're just not trying to solve the problem so probably not a good sign that they didn't draft the the the linemen especially with The rate at which joe borough got hit last year sean. I don't know that i would include me in that. I and i know how good these guys are. But but i i think what you were looking for from from jamaica chase to meet the reason. Why the j. green comparison doesn't work as aj. Green was being asked to step in and immediately a number one wide receiver with a rookie quarterback and his running mate. That year was jerome. Simpson here. you're adding jomar chase to a very good pair of wide receivers now. That pair of wide receivers may make you believe that. They didn't need to go get a wide receiver next. That's not an unfair take. I won't necessarily point. That is point that out as something. That's an accurate. But i think what they're hoping is that jomar chase is the beneficiary of being a wide receiver group that has already somewhat difficult to defend. I don't think. Aj green was acid. Angiogram was immediately has to be a one any demar chases necessarily being asked to be a one. I think he's being asked to bring a certain skill set to the table immediately. I think he's being asked to bring something to the table immediately from a productivity standpoint. But i don't think they're they're they're asking him to to basically be the number one wide receiver week one. Would you say it's fair to say.

"Around that it was right around that in two thousand sixteen coming off their obviously their long mini dynasty. There of the early twenty tens. And it's been you know in that range kind of ranging between twenty two and twenty eight percent Depending on what you consider making the playoffs is we have you know. Playoff contention starts at seven wins and goes to obviously eleven wins and the super bowl contenders. Twelve or more wins. So i mean if you wanna break it down. The bengals are by our numbers that we played the season now one million times in a projection system and then plug in the numbers. And when we do that the bengals win between six and eight games. Forty one percent of the time right and they're nine to eleven wins roughly the same as their zero to five range. So when you say it's a twenty seven percent chance of making the playoffs and yeah. That sounds pretty good. Unfortunately they have about the same matter. Chance of being in contention for the first overall pick in the draft again so you know basically. It's a volume of numbers and the overall volume says that the bengals most likely this year will be kind of mediocre more in the six to eight six two nine six to ten in range and of course you remember. There's a seventeen game this year. Which throws everybody everybody's thinking of You know the optimistic fan and certainly we can number ourselves especially that time of year. Well look at it and say yeah you know they. They should be wild card contention in the numbers. Bear that out on the other hand you can look at it at the same to sit the very same numbers and say well. You know if injuries happened. Not just a job rural but just any kind of a cluster position group or anything like that. That usually happens around the nfl level. You know they could easily wind up being out of the out of the race by kober again. So it all depends on how you look at it and also taking the sort of overall big picture projection system kind of as a range rather than you know making exact predictions the gentlemen. I've had mike on this show before my tenure was not a fan of the bengals taking jomar chase instead of soul and you were a part of the almost the nationwide conversation about teams so versus team chase. I'm very willing to admit. I was team chased. Then i'm teen chase now. Do you share the opinion that mike has in the piece that not only should the bengals have taken a soul but that bypassing him was a colossal mistake..

But i am buying into it this year in two thousand eighteen and twenty nineteen. He rushed for over eleven hundred yards with far less talent around him on this roster. He's an excellent receiver as evidenced by a career eighty percent catch percent inch and he's always had to split duties. Geo bernard bernard is finally out of the picture. P ryan williams and evans are not going to be a threat to his receiving work. If mixing can stay healthy he has ability to push for top five running back this year. Jake you really like nixon right. i do. I'm really high in mixing this year. And it's because of the addition of marches and the emergence of tee higgins often. Excuse me defenseless. Can't just focus in on mixing like you alluded to before he used to be the only real weapon outside of tyler boyd. But with t taken a big step last year jomar teammate that they set records with like i just expect off defense has to be much more concerned with the wide receivers.
