Twenty two eight so they pick up one game on the raise while boston stays to infront as for the mets. Don't play the highlight. No one cares Gimme lewis row hosts talking about the fact that this team was down by three twice. Never quit came back. Got the victory. This is what we done for the most part. This year is just fight and fight finer way into into really really big winds. We have several of these questions here before about. This is the biggest one of the season. I mean we've had a lot of wins This is one of them. Will i think you just showed that we are. Somebody asked him if this was the biggest win of what he just said. I suppose they might have. I mean if you look at the way they were reeling they lost this game. We would have completely shut the door on this team. Alisa is this the biggest win of the season. And how do you feel. How do you feel about god. That's right pretty much. So they one eight seven and it was brand drewery with pinch at rbi. Single looped it over in a drawn an infield as they wound up coming back for the victory and yes at wendy s did close it out for the save so good for them they both philadelphia and atlanta by two games in the nfl although all three teams even in the loss column with fifty five also saw la sent back. No matt harvey you got it. Okay there you go so not a great night for harvey but for him. He's closing in on five. Hundred home runs all right. I told you last hour. I would give you audio of denzel mims now. Why football speak. No mims came into camp quite lighter than he has been In previous last year for sure he was Under two hundred pounds. I think he put some of that back. On prior to can't beginning he told us why yesterday it was about food poisoning. Deanne physical ally allows twenty pows so you know. It took a big toll. He actually lost twenty three pounds. He went all the way down as i said to. One ninety seven. It came from bad salmon in the spring two weeks of vomiting due to an intestinal infection. She's yeah eddie. Skip the next one. Gimme the other mems kind of sad that eat sushi. Or was it semen. Last semen was wild. Alaskan sockeye salmon. Okay all the alaskan. Well i mean that part of them and it was salmon. That's all we all right. You don't know whether or not it was sushi as salmon. I did see one of the article said that it was. They were pretty sure. It came from the jets facility. I did see that you would see the only one that ate the salmon. Then you would think of. It's coming from the facilities. Someone else would eaten it at the providence. Have been at a lovely salmon. Maybe no one was eating it and it was under the heat lamp for three days. Out of you ever got sick from salmon. I have not. Luckily food poisoning is nasty. And then you have that terrible meet. Yes why i've always meet Medium wealthed well-done. God you know my meat. It's hey like you're yes like tonight you'll be ordering meat well. Well-done meat while done nothing. Better you to. Oh love it. And then you douse it with salt so good. Did you see jerry jones. Yes griddle and a lot of it. I said the hell warning. The interesting thing to me is forget him. Dousing the griddle with salt. That's fine. I mean it's probably not. What is she doing. But it's personal preference. If you're hbo why do you. Why do you not cut off when he hangs up the phone because him putting salt and griddle interest rate billionaire. Right salt on a i. Guess that's way more interested in it did catch my eye that is damaged. You know i did that game last year for. Cbs romo had the whole kovic situation. And gymnast said you want to go over the stadium roy. I said sure. And i didn't realize we had to take separate cars and we had to take separate cars and i find his car. And where did he pulled right into mcdonald's and he pulled right into the drive throw and he has some sort of special order that he makes from mcdonald's and you dance and you went to wendy's while he went to mcdonald's is like i on gymnast going to mcdonald's for pregame meal meanwhile when we get to the stadium you know we got plenty of stuff in catering their bright and then you tell friends jim nance you told him you gotta make the switch to wendy's now jim enough of this crap could you. Yeah yeah love that. Double cheeseburger from wendy's also. The baked potato delicious delicious tremendous and of course the frosty. You can't forget the frosty right. So anyway jerry jones going to get a frosty at wendy's that would-be on hbo. Yeah i guess you're right that that those seven billion dollar organization right and to your point g you know that the cowboys have the food completely catered out the ear for the players so there's plenty of food available and yet that's what he chose whatever. the seahawks cut alden smith for an off the field matter just a or two ago. He was talking. I what's shocking. I know you actually feel bad for this. He cannot want life straight like he's got he's got figure it out. I understand clearly. He's not capable of it because this is about a fifth chance. So i was asking joe. That's morning how many chances alden smith added a league for a long time and then got another opportunity in screwed it up again stuff. He'll be out of chances when teams feel can't help them that's when we'll be out of chances so Colts quarterback carson wentz and guard quinton nelson. About this remember. They gave a timetable for the foot surgery and recovery. Five to twelve weeks. Yes it looks like at least. They're hoping that they're on the road to recovery to.

"Want to hear from you. We want to know what you think about bringing back domestic manufacturing to this country Get involved at Zeca leman dot com. I'll do Collins Danes tell us and Graham to Democratic senators are running in what are now deemed toss ups. Peters of Michigan and Smith in Minnesota and one Democratic incumbent is in a race that's likely GOP likely to go to Republicans and that's Doug Jones in Alabama. Jonathan. Given all of that. What do you think, are the chances of a blue wave sweeping Democrats into control of the Senate on November 3rd? Well, I think you liked it out pretty efficiently. The States that Republican strategists who are working on Senate race is the most concerned about MKS Alley till us. Collins in Maine, a ll and God know Elin, really, really bad shape. They're worried about Johnny Johnston, Iowa who's running behind the president there, So you lose all of those that you've lost the Senate. But you know, things can change in a lot of these races are very close. Tom Tillotson, North Carolina has been helped by the sex scandal engulfing his opponent, although that doesn't seem to have Cut through in the polls as much as some of the til it's folks were hoping, so That's the situation to be. One of the biggest problems is all these Republicans, almost without exception, are getting outraised dramatically by their opponents in some cases by just huge, huge magnitudes, and this is a big problem. This is a problem across the board, not just because of Ad spending, but because it's also potentially not in all cases because sometimes it's out of state money, But in some cases, it's a proxy for voter enthusiasm. Come. Let's take a look at the balance of power now in the Senate, so we can understand what Democrats have to do to take back control of the Senate. As you can see, they're Republicans now have a 53 to 47 vote majority to take control. Democrats need a net pickup of four seeds for Annette pick about three seeds, plus Kamala Harris to break ties as vice president can. What do you think? Are the chances of that happening? Democrats? Regaining control of the Senate. Well, look at those numbers. You just put up their assuming that Republicans do get that Doug Jones see you get to 54. But then Jonathan just laid out the real problem here, which is Colorado, Maine, Arizona. If you were to lose those three, and they're all looking tough, you're right back to 51. That means every one of those other races is on a knife edge. Now in terms of the chance is one of the things that's been interesting in modern politics is that Senate candidates tend to rise and fall increasingly on their presidential candidate. So watch that space. You know, if President Donald Trump starts to do better in Arizona, you was seen polls showing that Or in North Carolina. You see polls showing that that is a potential help to a MK Sally or to a Tillis. And so these, these fates are somewhat intertwined. No Democratic Senate in 2021. Think it's possible. Yeah, Look, I'm not going to start making any predictions at this point, but but I do think and I agree with with Kim's last point on a lot of these states, they are the Senate candidates are going to rise and fall based on the presidential type. And Donald Trump is not making the job easier for a lot of these Republican Senate candidates look he gave. He gave Democrats to big gifts in the last week when he went on another network in a town hall and said, there's not much you would have done differently on Cove. It And when he released early, the 60 minutes interview that showed him saying, I really hope that the Supreme Court overturns the affordable care act. Democrats have cost across the country and Democratic Senate candidates across the country said We're sending. Thank you baskets, gift baskets to the Trump campaign. For those two things. He these candidates, Republican Senate candidates are worried about the drag. The president is bringing to them the ticket. And there and I've been there before, as a former operative. When your hands were tied and you see a wave coming, There's nothing you condo's. They've got to be really concerned over there, and he's in the Republican Senate headquarters. Meanwhile, the Senate will be doing some important business tomorrow. In all likelihood, they are going to confirm Jamie Cockney barrack to fill the vacancy of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Him. There are a lot of big thinkers in the Republican Party who say Forget the economy. Forget the war on terror, that this the judicial makeover not just of the Supreme Court of the entire judiciary. Is going to be Donald Trump's central legacy from this first term. Well and never forget that that list that he put out on Supreme Court nominees in 2016. A lot of people think that that's what cemented the election for him because this is something that really motivates Republican and conservative voters. Because it puts the judicial branch up in addition to the executive branch, and so to the extent that this is a closing issue for Republicans, it's a strong one and potentially a big motivator to get people out and vote. Jonathan let me pick up on that. If the not the confirmation what's gonna happen till after the election would be one thing, But let's assume as we have every reason to expect. That Barrett is confirmed tomorrow before the election. How does that affect what happens on November 3rd and people voting early until then, does that further energize the base? Or does it create more of a backlash from Democrats? All this evidence that it's doing both. So the Trump campaign is doing lots of events around. This had been doing your Catholics for Trump and obviously Amy Cockney. Barrett is beloved by Republican the Republican base social conservative activist. So there's a lot of energizing there, but you saw record fundraising on the left after rithmetic in spoke, died. Through exploded online platform. So this is there's empirical evidence that this has had a huge effect in energizing the left. Historically, it's been Republicans who've been more focused and passionate about the courts. But I think the evidence is that often, the Merrick Garland saga, followed by Brett Cavanaugh has been an awakening on the left, and obviously now there's a conversation about packing the court, So I think it could end up being a wash on that. You've got two bases, which are already extremely motivated to vote. On. You've just sort of giving them a little extra shot of steroids..

Kobe GonNa Affect Your operation. One of the things we discovered was that our mental health was suffering in egg and the combination of continuing poor prices and so forth were compounding the fact that we now have not much social contact and it was affecting our attitudes and was interesting thing to find out he says it highlights resources available to farmers and those trying to help farmers on issues ranging from emotional support to help with day-to-day operations on track. That's the way officials in the trump administration or talking positively about China's commitments in implementing the phase. One trade deal with the. Us politico an article. Today that says that's even as the corona virus outbreak. "Please to be joined by John Leona Dyke's to his name. You would recognize if you went to Cooperstown, I did a show from Cooperstown. So I knew exactly who John was and I say that because he's been producing award winning media experiences, etc. In entertainment for a long time. You can see some of the stuff that Disney theme parks that kind of stuff. If you've been in Seattle, the science fiction museum and hall of fame excetera when I mentioned Cooperstown, he's got a bunch of films in the permanent collection there. And I remember this one about the World Series, which was really stuck with me. You know, so big I remember it was called the day the World Series, stopped, etc. So I want to dive into baseball with him. Because there's an interesting question that looms, and it's about women and baseball teams. So the overall question is should the United States have professional women's baseball league? Like, they do in Japan. John. Thanks so much for spending some time with us. Thank you for having me. It's good to be with you. And I should say this too. And we'll talk about this. You have the sweet spot that's coming out, which is a documentary. Right. That talks about the human side of baseball. Yes. We actually have two seasons up already on Amazon and Roku had been the on demand. The first TV series to look at the human side of the game. In our mission is to preserve baseball history. And celebrate the love of the game and share stories that transcend sport captured the imagination I want to transform how we think about baseball and go beyond the box scores and stats to reveal the humanity. That's woven into the game. We love. I'm going to go look at that. As soon as I'm wrapping up this interview with you. So the question is why don't or why can't American girls and women play baseball. Well, they have faced institutional discrimination for well over a hundred years and American society and culture has just never been comfortable with women playing what they need to be a man's sport. And because softball really grew teeth in the seventies to become the institution that it is today provides college scholarships and opportunities for women to go to college. Served as an obstruction for girls and women who want to develop their talents and skills as baseball players and baseball is a very different game softball, but softball has developed to the point where it is a major institution in this country. So it's very difficult for American women to get the development training and time with good coaching. You get as you advance to high school and college and because they're effectively shut out from that. They don't develop their skills as baseball players. And so they're stuck in a never ending loop. And there are some little cracks being formed in what we call the old boys network where some American values and traditions are starting to change a little bit with some a little bit of forward thinking going on. Now, we have a little bit of a grassroots movement with some organizations that are providing opportunities for girls and women to not only play baseball too, also coach and unpire a little league. Because really this is all tied to the larger issue of gender discrimination in the United States. It's interesting. You talk about there's a little bit of cracks as you say that I'm thinking John there must be interested in this. There must be plenty of women. Girls that are interested in being more involved in baseball and actually doing it or untiring or that kind of thing, right? Baseball is very popular among women have Barucha spectators. And now we're seeing a there are more and more girls playing little league baseball. And there are some terrific players out there. And there's an organization called baseball for all that's been going on. Now ten thirteen years being run by Justin Siegel. Who was the first woman to pitch batting practice for major league. Baseball teams in the first woman to coach a major league baseball team. She was pitching coach for the Oakland A's during fall ball in twenty sixteen and Justin has a national baseball tournament. I should say baseball for all does. And they just had their third turn where the Rockford peaches Rockford peaches used to play the all American girls professional baseball league team, and they do well over two hundred girls from North America, and quite possibly could have been the largest gathering of American girls and women to play baseball tournament in the United States. Wow. It's it's so interesting as I think about this somebody I remember because of course, I do sports on on NBC sports radio a syndicated show. And it's funny. You say women in the United States like baseball. I grew up in outside of Philly. And we I grew up watching the Philadelphia Phillies. I grew up in that baseball culture. So I didn't play. But it's interesting. I agree with you. I think a lot of women are are interested in the game. No question about it. Even if they don't play. So so the question is there is a woman. There was a woman that was awarded an athletic college baseball scholarship for baseball. Then actually went on to be the first woman to pitch a complete game in a men's professional baseball, immense provincial baseball, who who is that woman. And where's she now? Because I don't know who that is. That's Isla borders and Isla was a left handed pitcher who was terrific athlete and baseball player. She played on for boys. High school team got an opportunity to go to college athletic scholarship to play baseball at south coast college here in the Los Angeles area. And she was the first woman to win a college baseball game as a pitcher, and then she moved and then she moved on to pitch in the independent Northern League where she worked with my back and the Saint Paul. And then she moved on from there to the Duluth dukes and on July twenty four nine nineteen ninety eight I was pitched a complete game victory. Three two one over the Sioux Falls Canaries, and that she notched the first of victory for a woman to pitch a game on a men's team in a professional league since nineteen fifty five when I believe we had there was an equally pitcher that were there was there women's who played in the negro leagues. Excellent people like Tony stone and many peanut Johnston, Iowa is is really an iconic figure not only for women in baseball for baseball in general because of the persistence, and dedication and the courage. People have no idea the amount of abuse heaped on girls and women when they try to play baseball on boys and men team. Coaches and fans, and parents they get on these people like you'd never see most other players and some of them have faced physical assault and a kind kind of abused. That is shocking. A number of women and girls who play the game, their parents coaches and umpires, and I think people would be absolutely shocked at the emotional trauma inflicted upon these people simply because they had the temerity to want to play our national pastime, but boys and men. Wow. And you know, as we keep examining this, and you talk about the whole gender idea and baseball, and as you say the terrible abuse of situations that people put up with women put up with do you think the culture changes eventually because this is what we're talking about? And this is what we started talking about. How long does that take? If we do see change. Well, I think it's it's it's starts in youth. And Justice is a great comment. She says when boys play with girls you show, you respect. And when you do that at an early age, it all becomes the social functions where everybody is seen as being on a level playing field. So when you start them young and they continue to play and are allowed to play in developed beyond a little league such as in panda girls. Baseball girls are encouraged to play baseball beyond that. And they play on they play on mixed sex teams in all the way up to the beginning of a lesson. And then beyond that they had the option of going onto boys teams if they wish but many times they choose to be on all girls teams up there, Canada, but girls teams girls teams play boys teams in Canada as they both progress through the season and they often play each other in the playoffs. And this is. Is why Canada has developed an excellent national program for their teams. And we we see this in Japan, which is dominant dominant. I mean Japan now has a professional women's baseball league and Australia is another country where they're able to develop at a very early age. And they also have a very strong national baseball team. But in some of these other countries, they're not looted in the sort of, you know, in the past where you know baseball is for boys and softball is girls. They don't have that in Canada. They don't have that. They don't have that in Japan. So all those girls are able to develop unfettered and become the tremendous athletes develop their gifts to become bonafide. Baseball players and the United States is behind the curve on that. It's getting better. We have a very good national program here with team USA, but it's going to take some time for girls and women to develop baseball players to to the point to where the quality of the game will be strong enough to where we can have our own professional league is you know, you need to have that television contract. But as we've seen with other national women's teams here in the United States like the women's soccer team as far back as nineteen ninety eight. They sold out the Rose Bowl over ninety thousand fans. So those American women play China for the gold the gold medal in the women's World Cup. So women's sports as I'm sure you can draw fans and can draw draw revenue. And advertisers. It just needs the opportunity to develop the talent. And we're starting to get there with the US women and girls, but they've had to beat back this gender discrimination peace, and like I say we're starting to see some cracks in the foundation that has prevented them from evolving. But it's going to take a little bit more time. And you as a matter of fact that you can count on two hands the total number of women have played baseball on men's teams at the college level. And while we're talking well over one hundred years,.
