Pastor Johnny Hunt on the New Film 'Nothing but the Truth'

"Exciting a new film. It's called nothing but the truth. And i have my guest pastor. Johnny hunt pastor. Johnny hunt welcomed the program. Thank you delight. Be with you. Tell me what is this film. Nothing but the truth. It's sort of a documentary. On the life of adrian rogers and many speaking into lots of the noble truth that he spoke in his years before the lord called him home sixteen years ago and reminding us that america not just now but is always been just one generation away from paganism take one generation that no longer stands for the moral absolute truth of god's word and we find america and america's churches in a serious dilemma. He predicted it so many years ago that it would be the greatest challenge and today a more people are speaking of my truth as opposed to his truth. And it's a difficult place when it comes to how many americans still believe in absolute truth.

Schools Boards Are the New Battleground Over Critical Race Theory

"Johnny is a mom and virginia has three kids that attend loudon county public schools elementary middle and high school so her kids run the gamut. She was there at attended the school board meeting. We thought to be really interesting to get her perspective on what happened. Rachel thanks very much for joining us. Did you expect the loudon county school board meeting to go viral like this. I don't know that anybody expected it to go viral. It has gone viral as the kids. Say it has gone. It has been seen far and wide. The the the image of seen parents dragged out of a school board meeting being arrested by the police. I really really ugly. And i've seen a lot of ugly comments online about the police officers which i hate. 'cause i'm real pro police and we do a lot to to benefit law enforcement on this show and yet. The police are sort of put. An really untenable situation. Can you give me your overview as a mom with kids that are in elementary middle and high school in loudon county. Virginia give me your big takeaway over what happened and what you see happening. Moving forward in loudon county virginia. Thank you mike You know this is. This is really prevalent all across our country. What's happening is they're trying to. Silence us Anyone that differs in opinion needs to be silenced in their opinion. And what happened this week in loudon county is just an example of people speaking. They didn't like it actually stopped. The meeting a stopped and they adjourned the public comment. Area that that topic Based on the fact that people were clapping for someone that spoke up and it really is because they didn't like what was being said so instead of sitting there as a public servant what they were elected in put into office to do And hear from the parents and their constituents they decided to shut it down and when they shut it down we said you know we're gonna we're gonna still say this to each other. We're going to be heard with the school board. Wants to hear us or not. We're going to Tell each other how we feel about what's happening in our county which we have a right to do. We were in public grounds. We were in a public building for public comment and they essentially declared it unlawful to be there

Biden Knew Afghanistan Faced Invasion Theats by Pakistan, Told by Ghani

"But in mid July, Biden was intent on Ghani delivering a public message. And public plan that would sharp confidence in the Afghan government. He said. You clearly have the best military of 300,000 well armed forces. By the way, they've never had 300,000 armed forces. Versus 17 80,000 there clearly capable of fighting well, we will continue provide close air support for you know what the plan is and what we are doing. He pushed Connie to allow his defense Minister General Bismillah Karma Lama. To pursue a strategy that would focus on defending major population centers. And he urged the Afghan president to bring together some of the most powerful anti Taliban warlords in a show of support to reverse perceptions, perceptions of a crumbling government. He said. I really think I don't know whether you're aware just how much the perception around the world is that this is looking like a losing proposition. Which it is not. Not that it necessarily is that But so the conclusion I'm asking you to consider is putting together everyone. If they stand there and say they back the strategy you put together and put a warrior in charge in a military man con in charge of executing the strategy and that will change perception. And that will change an awful lot, I think, says Biden. Johnny responded by saying Afghanistan was facing not just the Taliban, but their foreign backers, he said. We're facing a full scale invasion composed of Taliban. Full Pakistani planning and logistical support and at least 10 to 15,000 international terrorists, predominantly Pakistanis thrown into this. You've never heard any of this. Neither did I have you, Mr Reducer. So they were being invaded. On top of everything else from Pakistan. You didn't know this either, folks. But Biden did.

"Unfortunately we have lost a poker legend japan. I guess that's right where we should start six time bracelet winner lane flak unexpectedly passed away the other day man so sad found dead at his home on monday night. And obviously all these moments are always really sad arrested discuss but especially when somebody is young in lane was was was fifty two years old. He was a vibrant personality to say the least guy who always had a smile on his face. And the guy. Chad who i think of and tell me if you agree is like one of the geez you know. It's like back in the day in the poker boom. It's like layne. Flack would be mentioned among poker's biggest names and he's kind of held debt forever for twenty years and he keeps he kept popping up and popping up and popping up. It's just a tremendously as sad loss for the poker community It was it was felt you could see it across social media so many but wayne in sharing memories about him And just like you said reiterating that he was such a force in the poker world in a positive one at that. He was always putting a smile on people's faces. It has always cracking jokes. I seen a lot of people saying he had the quickest mind the sharpest wit and they had ever seen in the poker world and my interactions with lane over. The years seemed to support that He was always jovial. he was always Had some sort of quit that he was ready to rattle off and six time. Bracelet winner had the nickname back. Back-back flack which is one of the greatest nicknames in in poker and It's interesting so you went back to back bracelets of one two bracelets and back to back years of the world soccer two thousand to two thousand three but he really got the nickname back in one thousand nine hundred nine when he shipped back to back titles in back to back days at the i think it was the a. Podcast Prefix Analytics Explained

But i never really got into who was four and how useful this data can be for johnny pot gasser. So he spoke to karo. Chuck lasts chargeable to get into the nitty gritty of how these analytics are not just for the big podcasters but for anyone with the desire to learn and take the lead. Thank you so much for the opportunity that with you about this. Thank you so much for the in. By congratulations on your success. It's amazing to see what you've done in such a little time. And and i can't wait to see what happens in the coming months with ya. That news on. I know the context of this is kind of like an extension of that article. You wrote about analytic prefixes. The article does a really good job of explaining what it is right. And i think. I've explained it more times than almost the entire city of pasadena's fingers and toes right so i think if you don't mind just kind of reiterating that might kinda get picture right. The analytic prefixed. The way i always explain. It's a piece of code goes on the rss feed reason why that's important. Rss feed is distributed essentially everywhere right more or less prefixes acting as a redirect so what's happening is regardless of device or player when a user clicks player download right however with that analytic prefix ping's that prefix that piece of code and redirects download information. Somewhere and my case chargeable right but still passes through the request of the end user receives the mp three fall asleep right the key things to know what is download at the end of the day right. So ip address user agent user agent means you know ios fourteen apple. Podcasts iphone. Twelve the main reason why i wanted to kind of hit on that definition is because you know we're touching on the key thing there which is it's a it's allowing us to see what's going on with regards to the download and then be of course what what makes up the download the ip address which is so important

Would You Add Your Driver's License to Your iPhone?

"Was fifteen is going to update the iphones wallet app and it allow you to add several things including your driver's license or other personal. Id as well as other items including your car keys or your house keys. If they're compatible apple says the feature could be useful. If say you're at the airport you hit a tsa security checkpoint and instead of reaching for your physical driver's license or other id you can just whip out your phone and scan it directly in the newsletter. I wrote about how. I'm really not ready for that kind of commitment on my phone. I thought i already get anxious about losing my phone with what i already have on it. Which is email social media and stuff the thought of having my driver's license and my house keys and car keys and everything else just. I'm already worried about it. And i've not even in that situation yet. The other thing too. Is you know if i want to android for example even though yeah you can remotely wipe your phone and do things like that. It's still feels like there's a lot of effort you have to take if you've added all these features and then you want to switch and then you've got to dial it back Several readers responded on twitter. Here a couple of the more interesting ones besides the ones that suggested. I can't use my phone properly. Which i get it. It's fine it's okay. Twitter user fuser writes maybe step through the looking glass and viewed from the other side. Imagine if you lost your driver's license wouldn't it. Be nice to have it in your iphone while working on getting a replacement yes. That's absolutely convenient. I i like that idea. Another really interesting comment from johnny red beard. People have been carrying around that same information in one spot for a long time. If a lady leaves her purse somewhere she probably lost her. I d house car keys credit cards etc with an iphone. Worst case scenario. You just erase it or remotely. I totally agree. It's very convenient. It can be very useful in situations like that. I just am very i. I feel like this comes up a lot technology where we love the convenience but then we sometimes forget about the were surrendering lot of ourselves to these devices. And i think that's a matt where it's like. I'm i'm not ready for that type of sharing of my information yet with my iphone

Marxists Have Control of the Media and Education; It's Time to Challenge Them

"I think you can look at two things before we run out of time. The media and education These are two the key areas They have devoured them. They've controlled them for a very long time. Now they're completely out of the closet. In many ways that's helpful so we can deal with it. You will not see a difference between the vast majority, overwhelming majority of media platforms and outlets, the Democrat Party And the Democrat Party and these offshoots of Marxism. That's a fact. We're going to have to explain it. We're going to have to get it. I'm going to be all over TV and radio explaining on different stations and so forth. That we have to call it what it is. We have to explain what it's doing. We have to have the courage to do that. We have to talk to our neighbors and our friends and so forth and their concrete things we're going to have to do and we can do it without changing our lives in any significant way. And I'm sure that many ideas out there like the one I heard last night about body cams for teachers. I just did it slightly, even though people may disagree with me, which is okay. Let's put cameras in the classroom. Let's find out what's going on in our classrooms, the government schools, they know the administrators know what's going on the school boards know what what's going on? The principles know what's going on the assistant to the assistant principals know what's going on the teachers. Unions know what goings on the teachers. Now we have to hear from little Johnny Little Sally, if we're lucky now. We pay for every damn thing in these institutions. We want to know what's going on. And I thought that was a great idea. But we have other great ideas, too.

"And that's an act. You're acting it so act that the other way you can turn your you know. The jennifer always says that comedians have ferrari brain vast brain. That's associated hard to control. And it's it's hard to control but you can change the direction of the brain. He could can be fast in the other direction. Which is what you know. What's the best thought. What's the highest quality. Thought what can we do with this and it can work in either direction but the first thing is what's going on with me right now. That's a good question to ask. What am i feeling edgy. Mention using your. I think you said creativity and whatnot and there was a comic years ago. Michael boats johnson remember him. I didn't And he talked about how if you have some stress before. Show imagine that you've just jumped into a lake. And there's moss on you and then wipe your arms from your shoulders to your risk down and imagine that you're wiping away but it's stress. It's all this want. An and then the trip was and jennifer was talking about this. I think earlier. Take a breath and exhale as you wipe this stuff off. And of course at the time he told me. I'm like a twenty eight year old guys windsurfing. Doing flips under the golden gate bridge and a storm going. You need this crap man and here. I am thirty years later going. Okay jacob ripped wipe the moss off myself and you know talk about the the anxiety and that you have to sort of embrace it to some degree. But not let overpower i visualized that. It's an opponent whether it's on a football field or wherever it might and it just sort of. Take the palms of my hands and chuck it away. Just physically pop. You know as football coach to say this will tell you how old i am right at. He'd say give it to them in the brisket son right under the shoulder pads in the brisket deliver tatum take away their leverage. In the brisket pop. But if i am visualize these little things like visualize you know when. I had a lot of bad stuff. Another friend said come up with some visualization to knock that stuff out of your vision. I am and came idea that i used to snowboard quite a bit and said you know about a snowplow going down the road and all this crap is in the road. It's not snow it's crap and it's this you're the last of your dog. It's your tearing your arm. Whatever it is. Turn your arm up on stage and have this plow. Go down the road and blowing all this stuff off. And you're following it twenty feet behind jogging driving your bike or your car or whatever and the road is now clear visualize and.

"Now he's snapping at everybody. This is obviously not just aging. Something is wrong. can we get a brain scan. Can we get meds to raise. And we sort of didn't we got angry and close the door and that just a liberal and reason it's hard because and there's a number of reasons for that first of all traumatic. See your parents change so drastically and in some ways it is easier to believe they're just being a jerk. Then you're losing them in your. They're losing the essence of who they are. This happens a lot if you have parents who are suffering from dementia especially early stages of dementia and because we don't have good conversations about mental health. We really don't having the conversation about what what do negative emotions really mean. What are they doing for you. What was happening there. It starts with ourselves so if we go back to the idea of neurons that fire together wire together and so that when you get into these thinking patterns that becomes a habit snake biting your nails the good news is you cut rewire your brain. You don't lose the old wearing so you can still be funny as hell on stage. You can still separate in your brain all the things that you're collecting from your trip to mexico that are funny and at the same time. Be really grateful and be really happy and sam. That's my job. That's my job. And i don't have to be doing my job right now. This is awesome. And i'm enjoying myself and you can do that. And you can make that separation but this knowledge about how the brain works and understanding. Different emotions that you are not. You're not you're negative emotions. You're not you're anxiety. Or the thinker of the thoughts the observer of that and then just taking that pause and recognize it can change everything it really can big thoughts acknowledging the simple acknowledgement at like. You always say jennifer. There's feelings and thoughts are things that are knocking on your door. And if you don't answer the door they're gonna cloud her. Yeah and they're going to keep coming and they're gonna gain in intensity and then they're going to spin and then you're not going to be able to recognize what's what's the thought and what's a feeling which came first and where does it come from. Think about this worth thoughts go. Energy flows okay. Think about that. You really wanna be thinking from moment to moment. what am i thinking about. What am i focused on one of my ranting about in my head what am i renting about to my friends. What am i spending my energy thinking about and your thoughts can change. You can choose to think something else you can choose to think something neutral and that doesn't mean sticking your head in the sand and being the power of positive thinking it just means acknowledging that there are thoughts going on that you can reach better thoughts you can you know this has been going on for thousands of years. I always bring up. Marcus aurelius is i. Call him and i used to call him up and say mark. What's going on and he'd say. Oh it's one of those days because the happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts..

"You're safe and your intention was it. Wanted to keep you safe. But it's basically taken over so that you're lying there with one hundred pound dog on your chest and you can't get up and that's really what anxiety is and the more you give into it. Which which you don't understand what to do with anxiety and i think in our culture. We're very very confusing messages about about what we call negative emotions like anxiety or anger. Those emotions are there to guide us. There are gps system. And if you're feeling those things you're off the road learning how to manage those things is it. And that's why when people get rid of my anxiety. If you want to terrify yourself so you're getting renewing zaidi your anxieties like watch. You need me are you kidding. And i don't wanna get rid of anyone. I want to train it just like the dog. We want the dog in the dog. Bed sleeping nicely so you can have a life and then when you really need it then. The dog comes out. See i see. That dog is comedy. Sometimes because one hand getting on stage can allow you to vent this stuff and feel better about it on the other side is. We tend to dramatize much on stage that that a friend my friend said you're i never heard this term ed knows catastrophes sharon so we're happens you do is when you when you're a comic comic i was you don't go to hawaii ear mexico for weeklong vacation and come back and get on stage and talk about everything that went. Well there's no there's very little money in there you gotta go down there. My wife got steamer trunk with forty eight swimsuits. Where we go. You know so. That's what you do. So sometimes i think i carry that a catastrophe ising other little things partly because i've been rewarded financially and some laughter by getting on stage and making mountains out of molehills and whatnot. And so that's something that i think. Oh boy another thing. Having zygi about is whether or not for the last thirty years. I've made a living in part by you. Know exaggerating the importance or the danger of things and this is the same is true with self-deprecation from from my point of view. You know my whole my whole personality has been formed on self-deprecation. Now the thing is if you believe those things that you're saying about yourself and other people laughing there's a problem sure because you're not that person and and the messages that you're giving yourself or that you're not worthy. What ed is saying is a lot of comics like me. We perform i on stage and say i saw this thing. This a stupid kind of moron believes this and self deprecation are self effacing humorous when you mostly make fun of yourself down your own shortcomings. And that's what ed did. Well ed was very good at it and a lot of times. He wasn't so good at so we picked up the slack and then made fun of him as well. Yeah and that's what was so great. Is you get the community helping which thing and confirming your suspicion. But what i'll say about you. Know an and jennifer can speak to this. But what i'll say is that johnny lists this litany of things that would bury most people okay. It's a litany of things that have gone horribly..

"The primitive part of your brain is and it just wants you to run run. Get there so as long as you're doing it at your brain thinks okay good. He listened to my brain things running from it. So yeah i felt that because you ever have a dog that's got fleas and it sits in one corner and it gets bit bitten. It runs across the room together side because he thinks whatever is in that corner is causing it name and it frees together out of the room but at least with with the dog. unfortunately the that didn't work but with me it did it. Did absolutely it saved me. It saved me. And i ride bicycle. But you can't ride bicycle at eleven o'clock at night when the panic hits you so so the jogging did really help in. The gyms were close. Which i to hit the heavy bag in the gym. Have a lot of people who use like the gym to help them with their mental health. But this in running. I think saved you. I think it's important. And sometimes the state change to. Like even the you're describing. It was cold and foggy but sometimes just moving getting into a different space can help your brain and breathing that cold air. There are half lonely times right in the middle of on people are still in it like they're still in it right now. You'll you're you're right about that because it was foggy and damp and it was the season and it was otherworldly. I mean you couldn't see a block and you can see the holiday christmas lights in the fog in the distance and there is something and it was silent and there were no cars out no people no cars and i ran down the middle of the street and it was other events a little mortgage dream and it was otherworldly really really help and the other thing That helped and edna. "Stick and move this scene because you guys are trying to help the world and you've made a quest presented a question and i found like one verb to leap off with the stupid joke. I don't even know what the question is. And the test tomorrow. You realize about procrastinating. And doing this type of thing. I mean people say progression. That you know i i. I haven't decided who i'm asking to the prom. You know this is. These women have gotten some of dead two or three of them are married and they moved out of the state. I don't even have a tuxedo. Rented this is going to work out. It's ridiculous you were going to ask them and that would be a good time. Now is the time i see. I don't procrastinate but i do procrastinate. Eight obsessive putting off being myself. That's what i do. And that's a whole different world. But now but no. So i get this. I understand. we speak the same language here. I understand now. But how do you calm down an anxious brain because you of all people i mean you think about forty different things at once. Oh my god you're not kidding. You talked about anxiety earlier. And i think the anxiety i i'm not i'm not i mean you were way ahead of the game back in the. You're when you're in your thirties in san francisco you were like you know as far as this goes. You're like a spiritual guru of like eighty. You shouldn't have had a major. Had a just a cab out david in san francisco. We have come up and ask for advice because you were way ahead of this. And i'm not. I come from an ex jock background. I think the anxiety brings procrastination. And so just answer your question which. I seldom do a question. Especially what's being recorded. Because i know it'll be used tomorrow. The woke are gonna say you can't use nouns and it's going to be johnny did nothing msa racists. Oh my god. We sent him on his people's nouns. You're not racist. calm down for me. It's often been comedy. That's one thing a black dark humor. I've always been more edgy. And a little more dark in my humor. So that's one of them and then athletics. I grew up in a football fan. Made my uncle. John was who i'm named after was drafted to by the brooklyn dodgers and like the nineteen talk about bad timing to show up camp in nineteen forty two. So hitler got a different play. Whatever you think things you've had bad timing. Imagine that you're not going to play for the brooklyn dodgers. You're going to the battle of the bulge. Wait wait a minute. What happened right. So so i come from at. My dad is in my high school hall of fame. Three years undefeated in the backfield played with a guy that went to the pros. And all that sort of stuff. So you know and we can talk about this. But you know if you like. But you know it's been a couple of crappy couple three years from me and there were just times in the middle of winter when we went to that shutdown. What my wife. And i had split up in all of my comedy gigs rock a year and a half were cancelled and it. Was you know ten days before. Christmas and i just kept jogging shorts and shoes by the front door. This is absolutely true. And then i would just look around the empty house and realizing that there was going to be nobody over for christmas and i was going nowhere in the holidays. Walk in the house that you would go okay. Well there's two different kinds of sign. Don't do that kind or sighing. That's more Right that's the crasnick crisis center and gift shop. Yeah that's not the kind of thing i'm talking i'm talking about when i don't know you're at the mall or something and you thought you lost your kid for a second. Then you find them. Oh yeah okay so more. More of that kind of thing and also. I think you know if you're trying to again be what if you're trying to be physically close with people again. I mean what if you're the kind of people who touches everybody you know and i'm not talking about somebody's it'd be locked up. I'm just talking about an ethnic person who likes to communicate that way. I went to hug somebody the other day. And they gave me the heisman. Trophy football pose. "Need it when you let it win. It just doubles down on you. Not because it hates do and wants to ruin your life but it's just doing too good of a job saving you. And what is a quick way to actually get your frontal lobe back online. Like what ki- what are things that you can do where you can actually say. I'm going to stop working from a fighter flight perspective and i'm gonna. I'm gonna shortcut that right now. I'm gonna do it in this moment and something that i can do. Well i think the easiest thing and we've talked about this one before but this one is when i use all the time you literally put your hand on your heart. Put your hand on your chest breeze out you. Like a kind of cy outlay and then basically just say to yourself. I feel this way. Because i care so much and my anxiety cares so much about me but i'm not actually physical danger right. I'm actually not in a life or death fighter flight moment even even just doing that puts you in the role of being the observer makes you aware of how your body's responding and that might just be the the moment that you need. That breath out is really important because everyone tells us dig deep breath and right. But if you i don't know somebody just jump scared you or you just saw something the corner of your eye that alarmed you the first thing you do is take a huge breath which actually sends a signal to the brain that you needed to collect a whole bunch of oxygen and perhaps run away so the important thing is due to the opposite take a little breath and a big breath out like who like a big star thought he lost phone but there it is or you thought something terrible happening and it's okay. The body's response when you're suddenly ks to a big breath out so the cy breathing the is actually important. Yup which is an end..

"In in many ways and and really one of the best satirists around and we'll talk about the death of satire and when it's coming back And that's johnny steel. Johnny will join us in just a minute. Welcome to the show. you know. We're the show that talks about mental health. We talk with comics. Talk with entertainers. We talk with visual and performing artists from all over the world and we not only talk about it but we practice skills. We practice resilient skills because unbeknownst to many people mental health is a practice. It's a topic. It's a great topic. A lot of people are talking about it. Which is wonderful. Erasing the stigma of mental health around mental health. But it's really a practice. We practice everything in life. We practice knitting. Why don't we practiced how we relate to our thoughts and feelings on. Why don't we learn about how our brain works. Well that's what this show is about. And that's why we have jennifer kalari. Jennifer has a wonderful organization called connected. Parenting dot com. She teaches resilient skills. There are books. There's media podcast. There's all kinds of classes that you can take. She teaches about parenting and self parenting. Which is something that i never heard of before and now i understand what it's about. It's very hard to be apparent without self parenting and i can speak from personal experience. My daughter's tell all book will be coming out shortly. Yes so we're learning. We're learning these kinds of things. There's no perfection in it. It's just practicing. Its rehearsing the moments in life. That gives us a trouble and now of course there's a huge This is a huge transitional time when people are trying to figure out how to reenter the world. It's almost like people are trying to reenter the world without realizing that. We've just been through a year of armageddon. How do you deal with. How do you come out of of armageddon. first of all you have to take your armor off. I feel like that and trying to figure that out. And that's what we're going to talk about today on the show part of what we'll talk about is how you come out how you re entered the world. I'm in no rush. I know a lot of people are the people who run high with anxiety. This if you've been lucky enough to be well and safe and have basic needs met. You're actually doing okay. Because you're you're familiar with being anxious but if you're not somebody like that you've been thrown into hell so now that we're going back into life. The anxious people are getting worried again and i. I'm.

And so if you missed anything you can catch catch it on the archive later and also if you're if you're having any issue the listening to serious online a lot of times it's a Lotta Times it'll be the player. Close it clear your cache and then reopen. Like if you go to listen and you can't you can't. You're hearing like somebody wrote that. They're hearing Friday show that's online. That's a player issue so close it. Clear cash reopen and of course that works for a lot of you know a lot of hangups in fact the waiting for John here The craziest thing that Titas watching a movie last night and I wasn't really paying attention to carefully and all of a sudden this audio program this like a narrator starts cutting in all of a sudden it's explaining what's happening and that was it. We poked around and looked at the secondary audio program. And and all these different settings I and we don't even know we still don't know what happened how it happened. Just rebooted the box and it went away. It was the craziest thing in the middle of a movie. All of a sudden it's like here's a narrator like what? I didn't even know what that that existed. I remember years ago with the would have. They had the great commentary sometimes director and the actors. That's cool but this was. This was weird. This is very strange. "Out of my face. Well besides that like what art is like the truly respect and you you bow down to Who are your favorite. A Course Luther. Of course teddy loves Jeffrey Osborne Stevie my ultimate. That's that's my. That's my heart there And I named a period. Where yet the that's the way Who can I say in this in the nineties? I love with Neil. Does I like Neil like John Him? Okay Okay you millennial Joe Okay like Joe Where do you? Where do you feel that soul? Music is God I the Allen now. I'm asking questions that I hate doing. Young Rapper No. But it's how how disheartening is it to you to see or this is like a two prong question. One is just like singing is not what it was when you were coming up especially with now technology and how it is yeah whereas now you know like well sit anybody who still live. Now Yeah. I'm just saying like where you're you're where you're auto tune rapid is mostly singing now right well you know. I don't have a problem with that but then on top of that I guess right now it seems as though like most when you think of soul singers It's people that don't look like you right right and I'm in one hand I'm like okay. Well Yeah I can see that you've been influenced by this. Then you listening this artist so you know. What are you more dismayed that more? Black people aren't carrying the time or or that. Maybe we just don't know about them. I still think that they're singers out. There there's a lot of singers that are still out there. They're still singers making R. and B. Music. It's not the artist industry. Yes the industry. It's the you know everybody. You know music so just totally segregated. Now this I mean everything is based on research the kids and I dream like yeah. It's just that we have to look and understand. The one thing about a hit record is when you say hit it. It has something that's magical that resonates with people that's why it becomes unique. That's why it becomes special that's why becomes a hit because it can connect with people And I think the problem is that we're allowing industries. It's just gotten to a point where everything is a category and it's so it doesn't even allow even out new generation In these kids to really really grow up and be educated to understand what music really is or what you know. What a great song. Because they're like if you've never had so full appreciate everyone or even have a desire for so pool and I believe that it's just gotten to a point where it's not so much of the artists that are still outfitted. Just not getting a shot. It's tough to take even though there's some a lot that are making music but they're not able to get an opportunity to be heard and that's only due to because of the way this industry is now everything has been diluted. It's like if it's gotTa be if this person's not on this artists you belong over here not because of the song it's just based on the formula an ACO because that's your name that's where you are. That's how old you are and it's just gotten so crazy that it's just hurt the industry and they're still hurting us and I don't think it's going to get any better until we can get a people begin to understand and recognize and identify when you just got great music great songs and you see that is reacting. People are Are gravitating to allow everybody to be able to have an enjoy it and stop trying to control trying to put everything in a category. Everything necessarily belong in a category. If it's greatest great if it works it feels good. Feels good and I think that it's just gotten so bad now it's choking and killing out sells but at the same time. What does it feel like for you to still be making new music and be embraced like still be played on the radio? Like they'll get that number one so grateful I'm grateful and I'm just doing my part When you listen at the songs that I recorded on this new album game changer to I'm doing as a musician stretching out being able to do Music that I enjoy doing but I never compromise. Who Johnny Gillis and. I understand that it's important to do that. Make sure you stay in. Be who you are and making sure that my audience can appreciate what I'm doing here but at the same time also allowing myself on artistic standpoint to be able to do and try to things that I enjoy the music that I enjoy when you listen to me myself would call Santana and sheely I love that type of music and I was able to be able to enjoy it and bring them on and collaborate with them to do something that I've always wanted to do but I don't when you hear me singing you still hear Johnny correct and I think that it's just for me. I'm grateful that people I can see because when I go to work there's sold out shows which tells you it's a blessing. First and foremost they still want to hear from you. More importantly and I believe that there's still a number of people that really appreciate what we do and And I believe everything comes full circle. I think it's cycles. We go through these cycles but I think at the end of the day. I think that it's like everything else. Real music true music. True artists. True musicians It goes through a cycle. But you know I don't think that You can keep us down forever. It always comes back. I have a question okay. So you in resisted your. Do it together on on the album. Yeah Yeah Frisbee. It's as a matter of our own when I came out. And he told me to tell you again next is is because the thing is after the bio pic came out. I feel like this new edition bio pic is doing is doing better for you. Guys what the temptations couldn't do their bio-pic even the Jackson's couldn't do with their bio-pic and you know I know that there is politics in the group in their six of y'all Yada Yada who do we know the drama. But it's like if there ever was a time. When y'all have millennials in the palm of your hand like is now to the point that I'd see I mean kids born like after two thousand and I like that young? Yeah coating the movie. Yeah and so they're mostly invested in you guys yet to really not cash in but really the right. That's the bottom to take that victory lap. Yeah but what does that look like? They did do stuff like no other. Nations new edition has yet to reunite and tour behind bt movie but they dictate you did and we did one show after that moving. That was the Steve Harvey thing I think we did. That was in the internal issues that goes on with. This group has been going on since thirty some years. We FIND OUR WAY BACK. We go off. We have we come right back. We're like a married couple and what I kept telling everybody you know what happens when a married couple when they love each other and they keep breaking up coming back bringing up the problem. Is You have to deal with the core issue here because as much as you love each other until you deal with the issue and get that straightened out what you're doing. Is You know you love each other? You break away come back. You still got the same problem so you in back up with the same outcome and something has to change and so even with Kobe just recently. We all started texting each other. I Love You love. You love you man. This is crazy. We'll all six of you. It was our last do this and we were all blue. Their fighters were actually when rebel. That has crowd and and what I said to everyone which I think is important that What we learned was life just sent us all a message that it don't discriminate. Don't who you are and at some point this call could've been. This could have been any one of us so you realize that at some point we need to take heed then a few weeks ago about a week ago. Ronnie's brother Rob who works with me. On his way from Atlanta I was planning a baton rouge last weekend he fell. Ill led to airlift him actually to hospital in Atlanta. Now Rob is Ronnie's brother. Who's the biggest new edition fan and he sits even though he worked with me? He's always the guy that's GonNa Man Y'all brothers and me. Yanni's a stop in young man and he's that guy and I was like I said when I got that call and I was like okay. Wait a minute we just got a warning and with Kobe. And then who knows who knew a week later that it was going to step inside of our family and the one person that everybody loves. Rob It affected everybody and it was like book. Also what are we doing here? Is this really? I mean when you put it in perspective so I was. I'm the oldest so I bought and said and I've told them I was like you know. Forget who's right and wrong. We all just gotTa do better. We gotta do better. We all do and I said at some point that means that we have to look at ourselves. Be Honest and begin to try to figure out what we need to do we. We never stepped foot on stage again in life but how to get all these years and the things that we've done Together in the memories that we created the impact that we've had if we never stand on that stage again there's no rhyme or reason for us as family members brothers to not have some level of a family of a relationship as brothers as men. And so we've been you know we've talked we've had those conversations and that's just where things are and I think that you know time time heals wounds and I think that who knows what is going to happen. What lies ahead. But I do know that my main goal and like I've told them and I feel it is important is that we all take heed because you begin to believe or you saw what happened to Kobe. And then you see it got even closer in our house but our own family so we got to take a step back here and figure out what the good Lord is trying to tell us. I suggest the METALLICA. Some kind of monster yes rallies. I suggest group therapy. I'm now I'm GONNA sick Lauren. Zander on everyone. Oh that's okay. Orange Zander she. She is the Lauren. No she learns in there. Is the group whisper. She keeps groups together. Let me tell you something it's crazy. You know what I said to them this evening. We need a counselor. This is the first ever been crazy time. That sentence has ever been said amongst time but people will think about them. People aren't thinking very seriously like normally I'm really given. I don't have to pay for no more therapy after I give her this this endorsement. No what what she what Lawrence the end does. She's like well known in the industry and and she fixes groups basically like managers will hire her to keep groups in tech and it'll be over small sit back to be a business but that means that both of Y'all see her. I don't mean to be seen as a as our individual. She's she saw. She's everyone's person like will. I don't want to.
