"The back you're listening to live phone coverage on one or two point five my name is ana that as well I will be with you for the next twenty minutes or so and then Johnny beaver the Johnny B. show is taking over till seven PM so make sure you don't go anywhere go over your mother's house say Alexa turn on one of two point five the bone and force your mother to listen and she's gonna love it he's gonna love it seven two seven five seven nine one oh two five or eight hundred seven seven one one oh two five thank you so much for holding through the break caller who might this be hi my name is Blake Blake welcome to the program thank you hi what would you like to go I just drove two hours to say happy mother's day to my mom she even had a near home in we lost my dad a couple months ago but before okay and are you gonna let go see hers here or is it more like thrice last window kind of a doors in the lobby they kept opening and closing but our broader it or get it from my house to homemade soup didn't when I left I realized the last time all over to see her and I'll never get to hug her again I am god yeah that's rough I'm so sorry yes my dad will need to worry but she's she's if you sick or I mean I know I know she's ninety four and may okay she plays bingo okay does everything but nobody is allowed to leave their the building and they get right now and the the like the companionship of the workers and and probably the other people in the home and yeah they're one that's great he's not it could be way worse you could be in like in a home her own home by herself you know so she's with other people that are taking care of a few pretty lucid or she kinda you know does it sure is being okay she's got a couple main friends in there that they hang out okay great sure Walker is around instead right right that it says said world when you know you can hug your mom yeah I know I know I am so sorry but you know you're so lucky that you've had your mother mother along too so no she said she had eleven children and thirteen foster children that near like separately that those were not you know laughing well when we all started moving out she started her and dad started getting foster children wow wow so she isn't any other edible woman you want to give her a shout out what what's her name Betty Betty R. shame okay yeah yep there's day are you are you yourself a mother yes I am a mother okay do you think it's okay to hate your kids just before you go sorry my son Tyler okay yeah you never give me a good crack in the face re mouth off to you so okay okay trying out today okay you know we'll just see how many thank you all right bye bye love you oh god does that the end of the I feel might end I don't know about you but it's really hard for me to know what to do in those scenarios yeah he just you you're all my god that's tearing them less emotive than I am yeah so if I'm having issue like fight like going in the the filing cabinet of like how do I respond how do I because I mean I you know I try to we try to keep it mostly light on the program you know and and it and it is sad because those things are happening you know but and definitely that's not like a worst case scenario if she's an old woman she's lived a very full life you that a lot of kids like she's one of the lucky ones we know that I mean I think I can speak for both of us we have empathy for they stay because we do we try to goof around like that's how I deal with and people deal with it in different ways like I deal with strife and kind of tragedy I kinda it's gallows humor I kind of do the same well are you me joining also I also understand that some people don't deal with pain that way so when is that my reaction is to make a joke out of it but you don't wanna send somebody so I just freeze up I go oh I'm sorry yeah yeah which is all you can say and listen like I feel like you grieve and I agree but it's often privately yeah I mean where I just like I love like when my favorite pastimes like if when I'm feeling stressed or sad you know PMS and whatever may be like if I just get a good cry in the car that is amazing and no one sees it I don't post it on social media I don't take a selfie and put it on Instagram I don't do any of that I cry silently it's very pathetic and it's just for me and it's very cathartic it's not pathetic leg do you doing it it's pathetic when you put on social media and sympathy from others right to me that's just so cringe G. but you know doing it for yourself and just doing what you need to do you know I'm not a crier myself but I'd I'd you do whatever you need to do that yourself feel better absolutely feel better you feel like it you know it it's it's like a it's like a release you know it's like sex but for your emotions yeah I I again I gotta let it out I literally cried I cried if you cry I've cried a few times in my life where it was just I couldn't help myself usually when people died that I cared about very much in it you're right it does you have to it is a big time release and I wish maybe I wish I could do it more but I just I'm just not a it just doesn't really happen yeah I am I love to cry it's one of my favorite pastimes I do and sometimes it's just it's not even that I'm in a sad mood I will just your song and it will move me or take me back to a sad memory and I will just have a really good cry I don't happen to me sometimes our tier one single tear there will come out you really feel better and now it feels like it's like it's like eighties yeah yeah it'll tickle no no you've got to let you know like a full blown sob I've tried I've been like okay let's try this out and you sit and you just kind of like try to make yourself do it just it really is kind of like an orgasm yeah it is because you you are so calm afterwards you're relaxed you feel better you have like mental clarity yeah you feel like you don't you don't feel any tension everything is just released its emotional orgasm and I I recommend you all do it seven two seven five seven nine one oh two five are let's talk about something good okay let's let's let's let's shift gears to something a little bit more positive like how China is a dirty lying piece of S. okay let's let's go there China apparently obviously they're denying it but she I I always calls using paying but it does that sound right when I say fast I just G. X. Zhang Z. Zhang paying okay I says you're trying to pressure the W. H. O. Q. delay global corona virus warning I think this is coming out of like the the the Germans it's like the German CIA basically says here are Chinese president xi Ching paying pressure the director of World Health Organization dying gonna try his name in January to hold off on issuing a global warning about the corona virus outbreak it says here the January twenty first conversation between changing paying and the who president was reported in it's a German paper whatever which cited intelligence from Germany's like CIA essentially which isn't good news I feel like it we're getting more and more reports that China was just lying either to hoard supplies or they wanted to make it seem like he had it under control so it's more like a PR stunt like this and it seems like there's a lot corroborating evidence that they were trying to cover things up whistle blowers suddenly went missing disappeared and then two months later came back and literally it's good it's like you could you could see the pistol in there but like you could see someone was that had them hostage with they were on reciting a script it wasn't good news so this is just more corroborating evidence that China is in bed with the who the World Health Organization and that they lied to the rest of the world and I know that there was a report in early or mid January say that they said that there was no evidence of that this that was really the thing that after the entire world when they said there's no evidence of human to human transmission which is bizarre that you would think that twenty second I remember is like twenty seven was like the first report twenty seven people got sick from a market and I'm gone they ate the same bat like you know was it because at first that's what we all thought that it was a bad that was bad supernet photo came out of that like cute little Chinese I'm assuming Chinese girl names on vacation on that was eating a bad we go I think that's patient zero I think that's her I think we found her now there's more evidence coming out that maybe in fact it was I don't know if it created in a lab or studied in a lab released by the lab maybe they were working on a bat and then sold it to the market that other people are saying it didn't come from that it went bad pangolin an animal I've never heard before to human I don't know how that exactly works in other reports are saying that that can't happen that that takes hundreds of years to evolve to affect another species I have no idea what to believe but I do not believe anything China says I would like to hear what you think about it seven two seven five seven nine one two five and do you think that we should be a little bit more forgiving maybe to either our our our local and government elected officials whether it be the president or the administration or whether it be the governors or the mayor's that's it let's see go up to the end of this on both sides I'm not pro trump anti trump pro whoever a damned or not you know Blazy always telling people in New York City don't worry about that I think this was one January don't worry about it go outside if not there's no human to human transmission and any got blasted for saying that but that's all that he knew he was told that there was no human to human transmission so I mean should we really be angry at our officials when they were lied to I don't know Colin seven two seven five seven nine one eight two five that's what's so frustrating about this thing is they they have US finger pointing at each other meanwhile we're not finger paint at the finger pointing at the direct cause which I'm sorry is the Chinese government what I don't understand what people are doing with this Dodge trump's fall no it's Nancy Pelosi's fall they have miniscule percentage of blame for how they handle it hindsight's twenty twenty things could've been done differently in order to stop this thing from wreaking havoc as much as it did huh but the finger pointing needs to be done at the Chinese not the Chinese people no.

"Right guys. So it's been a long long time since we had talked anything wrestling right since mania. Yeah which is fine because this is not a wrestling podcast. First thing I do and I listen. People be like really is we put it is but no. I think we've proven that by this tight it's not. It's not a wrestling podcast unqualified wrestling podcast member. Anyways so I mean Johnny beaver wouldn't be on the would be part of the main panel if this was a wrestling podcast anyway. That being said this but this week on Sunday night. We're going to have the first post mania in Second Kovic Nineteen Relevant pay per view from w. w on the network in the bank. Which is bill when I often my probably my second or third favourite of the whole year. Usually it's you're at least going to get one or two great matches saying my heyday. This was often my second favorite and somebody's is even better than wrestlemanias. Because it's a little it's tighter and it's a very specific kind of gimmick and it's not all over the place right in it has it has It has what's hard fuck. I hate it when when this happens when we're recording when you're when you're dumb dumb it has repercussions that that affects the rest of the year. There are stakes so go to this Sunday. I mean it's been you know. There's not a lot of heat right now in wrestling period just because of the way the shows are being the shows are being filmed. And you know I listen. I love wrestling and I still still watching. But it is not the same without a live crowd and people seem to be focusing more on you know whether or not they should even be recording. These shows actually watch my shows and enjoying them but I still excited for Sunday night. Pay Per view. Yes there is something to do. The ratings are bearing out what you're saying because raw dipped to its lowest in years last Monday like how many years like I think it was the lowest rated raw up to this point. Was the Christmas Eve. Show on in two thousand fifteen where it was basically a clip show and this was lower rated than that. So that's I mean that's bad so they're still not like pre attitude era ratings like ninety S. Now not not that bad yet so I figured we could just kind of go down the card and meeting maybe Puckett these matches. Yeah let's do it. I mean we should probably will save the best for last because they are trying. Give them credit. They're trying to be different. Come up with something interesting for people to watch. So we'll talk about that at the end talking about the the men's money in the bank match which has a different a different deal a different look this year but I guess we can kick things off. There's only been six matches announced so far. Officially they're not I mean they're okay. I we have a fatal four way tag team match for the WWE smackdown tag team championships. We got the New Day biggie and Kofi Kingston. Who are the current champions which? I didn't even realize worker. The MS Morrison Versus Lucia House party which the versus the forgotten sons who I kind of like a recent call up from an xt sort of. I feel like they're sort of the replacement for the revival. They're pretty good. I'm not sure which which of the three people will be in that. But I mean that'll be. That'll be what it is. You know. All all for those teams can work. Lucia House party is never a threat to rain anything. Her great wrestlers. It'll it'll it'll be what it is what it is. I have to say I'm a little surprise. Then Kofi is here and not in the ladder match just because he's such a big spot guy. He's been in almost every money in the bank match. I've ever washed. It's amazing like Kofi won the title at Manian. That amazing moment held the title for a good long run but then as soon as he dropped it to listener he went right back to. Mid Card Purgatory. It's it's a shame because the guy when given the spotlight and putting the ring with a with another good worker always puts on a show man. Yeah it's not like he wise. It's not like when he dropped. The title of people were sick of him or anything he was still over. Oh yeah totally. I mean I think people were. I think people would have taken a will. I think people would have been happy to see him. Hold the belt to mania. I agree I mean I think I feel that spot. That he ended up was never his to begin with it was supposed to be Mustafa. Mustafa Ali spot. Then he got hurt. Kingston was a last minute replacement and then it was very lightning in a bottle and I don't think it was ever something. Vince really wanted to pull the trigger on but he was kind of forced into a lot like the s movement back in the day. So I mean this is this is going to be a pre show match right. I don't know there's only six matches. So maybe if they announced another one or two. I don't know some of these other matches. We're GONNA go over. Well I don't know I guess of the six that they've announced that would probably be the likeliest candidate for the pre show. But I don't know they have a designated which is the pre show one yet so were so what's next next. We have boy this. You WanNa talk about a fucking snooze fest oh boy singles match for the WWe smackdown women's Championship Bailey. The champion versus. Ah Seriously Yeah. She is the worst is this. A RIB is a unreal. She is a walking cure for insomnia. This chick I'm not that big a Bailey..

"Little everybody working to build and Frankie pop culture? I am frank n with me as always getting to be a habit. Not only bill but Johnny Beaver Bill. John how you doing bill you go first. Well I'm doing okay. I mean the quarantine has driven to some crazy lengths. I just gave myself a haircut. I'm not sure how that's going to go for me but luckily Dylan. Yeah but luckily. It's very hard to date when you're not allowed to leave the house so if it's terrible I can just let it grow back. Can we Can we recognize how timely my Jacob building references? Yes super super timely. Yeah how about you Johnny. You goodbye to the xfl again feels very familiar. I didn't even see that they can. It postponed operations. That's a shame because I feel like I mean. It wasn't doing gangbusters but I feel the expectations were much lower. This time I feel like it actually would have been a moderately successful feeder system for the NFL. Which is really all they could aspire to be. Maybe it still doesn't give up on things unless he's absolutely forced to so who knows. So the XFL did the job for cove at one thousand nine hundred. J. O. B. for that That Rhona Damn. Xfl JUST DID THE J. O. B. Has made a lot of people do the J. O B Ronin is over. The Brown is over. Like gangbusters. Got Scott go home. He xbox xbox would be if there was a virus and nobody got sick. People were getting sick and nobody cared seriously. Johnny how you hold up man. I know it's everything's weird. I was very empty today then. I realized this. Good Friday combined with being quarantine unsheltered in so the roads were particularly empty on my way to work and that was nice in that. I took less time than usual. Nothing can nothing can clear a space like the combination of pandemic and the crucifixion of our Lord. Yeah that that's accurate to work. Do you work for a bunch of Pagans. I just work for a bunch of people who aggressively trying to make money in a time. When no one's money I guess enough so So final fantasy seven came out last night at midnight. And we know how you're holding up my God dude. Let me tell you what I. I'm so happy you're smelly and disgusting. Dude I am I have not. I've been in one room of my house all day. I've been this. I bought a PS four three or four years ago because of this game and it just kept getting delayed delayed delayed. It finally came out. I pre-ordered it from game. Stop in that. I've been freaking out a week because I'm like how the fuck I'm going to get my game and I'm like wait a minute you idiot. It's two thousand twenty. You can just fucking download it stupid you stupid idiot so I so so I downloaded it. They let you download it early. Because it's so fucking big. It's eighty gigs. Okay that's only lost. Yeah as you would know because you pirate stuff but because it in. That's only the first half of the game right so They let you start downloading early so that at midnight last night you could start so I was able to get some time on it today. Only God it is so gorgeous and it reminds me of you know the first time I ever saw final fantasy seven. Oh Cam was playing it in me. To what building was that? Bill switch now Illich. Hell no no no it was. It was my freshman year. Yeah you're right so it lik they were they were in sweet like with Curto right. Yeah but the first time I saw it was in. Diego comes room but they were hill when I was a freshman and you're still in highschool okay so but so because of that I went home and I bought it and it just became one of my favorite games of all time that knock arena of time. And I've been waiting for this remake for like four years and it's so beautiful it's like a completely different game same story pretty much. But it's much more indepth the battle. The battle mechanic is real time instead of instead of like that. Classic Final Fantasy. Turn based battle mechanic In the graphics are just breathtaking. I mean it is. It is insane in the voice. Acting is very good So like I've got like the next couple of weeks of my life planned couldn't have happened in a more perfect time so I was. I've actually been wishing that this Corentin would prolong enough to overlap with the release of the game so But yes that's that's what I've doing. Once you know work was over for for the rest of the day but have a you guys anything new or just same old. Same Old I I I. I'm going to ask you a question. Then cut you off before you can answer right. You'd I finally finished the witcher. Oh time to I. I really liked it. Henry Cavill is. It makes me even more mad that the DC universe sputtered because or the scene extending university. Because he's awesome. I agree and I just I really liked it. It's it's it's completely its own thing. I can't even compare I know. On Pashas I compared. I tried to make a stupid comparison. But it's so different in so its own thing. I Love Jazz scare. You say his name the the Bard Jennifer is such a cool character. Yeah I mean I really liked it. I can't wait for the for the next season. 'cause I mean Bill Bill Johnny. You've both read the books or no. I have I book which is just the collection of all the stories that they adapted for season. One I have the second one but I have not started yet. Okay should I. Book is what they adapted for season one the first few John. Correct me if I'm Rhonda. They may have taken stories from the first two books for season one. Yeah it's the first two books so I read the second book too. It's not quite as segmented into multiple short stories where the first one is which is why the later part of the season. I think it becomes a little less anthology and a little more kind of overarching story. Because the second book is a little more overarching.

"Rebutting welcome to build. Frankie pop culture. I am frame with me as always. Is The man the myth the legend muscle? Actually call me legend. This time. Last time you didn't out if amend made fun of me I know you admits and then talked about how much you masturbate. Exactly Yeah No. I think I'll give you alleged. I appreciate that so bill before we introduce our our guest. I wanted to well. He kind of just introduced himself by lighting his pipe. But I did want to just like take a minute. And you know recognize The death of a very close friend. we you and I both lost one to covert nineteen last week right after we recorder last episode Dudes name was Tony Whelan He was Like a idle slash. Big Brother figure to both of us. July had yet to lot of people. I'm the one with the podcast so I don't really care about this people and I know I know. He had a huge impact on how I socialize and talk and communicate And I I know luckily when I get drunk. I'M A. I'm like a Lovey dovey drunk and I tell people much I love women appreciate them in toilets annoying so I know for a fact I've actually had a chance to express how truly felt about the guy to him I'm GonNa Miss Him. There is nobody could make me laugh quicker and more out of nowhere than Tony. I don't know bill would. You won't say a couple words. Yes Echo that Tony Tony was. You know it's amazing now because of the personality plus that I am but when I went to college I was a little more of an introvert and Tony was so instrumental in me. Sort of becoming like what I am. He always push people to do better. He kinda knew that New People have more in them univation. He was a big. Like you said a big brother to a lot of different guys. His his legacy at Rider University is act so yeah it's just terrible. You know he he got it. His wife got it. Both their kids got it the luckily his wife and two kids or both discharged from the hospital and recovering at home. But Tony had some pre existing problems that made it a much more uphill fight for him. And despite everybody's best efforts You know he didn't make it but he's certainly one that will never forget for sure. Yeah I mean Tony was a guy who he could diffuse tenses situation with two words in just completely disarm everybody. You couldn't be mad at him around him he just wouldn't allow He just wouldn't allow people to be in a bad mood or angry even if it had nothing to do with him when he was around He was like this positive sphere of influence. That just you know roam the earth and it's GonNa be. It's GONNA be much darker world without so love you. Tony Miss you so okay. Moving on our guest. Yes John Beavers back with this week. And he's he's thriving in this new world of isolation thriving. It's like when you know you have a house plant. That gets no sunlight. You finally put it in a son. Just he's he's become a master among children. These last few weeks reminds me of my favorite one of my favorite Pearl Jam Lyrics. He's changed by not changing at all. That's right and he was a good one bill so we're happy to have him back this week. You know. We love him. Johnny beaver Johnny. "We were kind of joking about it Franken? I were kind of joking about John. It's the way this has happened now. You're actually more out and about it's like things have flipped. We're all isolated in your actually doing more than most of us. Yeah it's very bizarre. I mean obviously my my my. I do a lot of when I come home from work. I'm pretty much plopped down in front of the television and I go to bed so we're pretty much. My my mic was of action every day. So it's weird now. Everyone else is doing it. And I'm like well what's so bad about that. Sounds like that. Sounds like an all day for me. Your visionary your visionary is what after all these years we finally realize it but you know in these days of isolation isolation so I find myself when I get cagey or like I get. Sometimes I just say pace around the house I I. I look at myself in the mirror and quite often throughout the day I will say. What would johnny BEAVER DO W W J ANTI PD? Yeah we need those bracelets made now for to get everybody through this cove in one thousand nine hundred social distancing situation. Well that's that's actually a pretty good segue into one of the things we wanted to talk about. Which is I know. Things haven't changed that much for John. But since we're all isolated and we all have to find stuff to do. Is there anything that you John that you're doing that you decided to launch into? Maybe it's a long rewatch. Maybe it's reading books. Maybe it's I don't know what. What have you been doing gauge on before you jump before you get into that? I need to introduce the segment. We'll go ahead that we like to call isolation jams isolation jams all right. We're jamming so go ahead. John What.

"This. Could this could be the final blow to knock cove in one thousand nine hundred pass? This is the the roundhouse kick at the end of the left right Combo. Yup We have the master of isolation himself Johnny beaver Johnny. Welcome back to the show guys. Well we John John Beaver. Who has made made social distancing his personal mantra for the last two decades. This is true misanthrope and staying indoors and washing. Streaming video is Pretty much my forte. So it's worked out well for me. It's like somebody who takes a small dose of arsenic every day to build up an immune system to it. Johnny has been isolating himself for the last twenty years. So now that it's it's it's of no circumstance to his daily routine like the like the man in black from the princess bride. He's built up an immunity cocaine powder Cillian but otherwise well. It's good to be on with with you. Brothers I appreciate it. It's The original purpose of this podcast was to like get me bill communicating regularly on a weekly basis. And then we started pulling Johnny into this thing So like we were all talking to each other more but now this becomes even more important. I think To our sanity with this isolation shit going on because I mean I'm not talking to anybody except my wife and kids and sometimes it's just nice to have a conversation. I love them dearly. But sometimes it's just nice to have a conversation with somebody different. Yeah I'm honestly not talking to really. I mean I'm talking to. I have my kid half the time I talked to my ex wife as much as I have to and then it's really nobody. So it's it's it's nice to be able to keep in touch with both of you guys even if we can you know. Hang out in person for a while. It's nice to know that you guys are there to shoot the shit. And if people want to eavesdrop on our conversations more the.

"This week. I thought you know since it's been awhile since we had a show and we have our very special Johnny beaver on with us. I thought it'd be Super Fun to do something different to something. We've never done before before you know it. Usually before we go any further go ahead. We should make sure John still awake after the wrestling segment Johnny. There I am awake. I was silent for a lot of it because I honestly went over my head but I you guys divvy you did your best to To to Libyan so I appreciate it. I'm going to go by I frank. Please continue John. How many times did you come during the wrestling segment? I came zero times. I let my pipe several times okay. We've heard that so whenever John's on the show I feel like I'm in a tavern Lord of the Rings. Yeah I like that I bring night again. Doll vibe too. Yeah it's good Shire toback long so usually when there's like a big massive to pop culture event that happens we like Disney plus launching this week. you know in the past. It's been Robert Pattinson. Get named Batman manner. You know something going on with X. men or we'll usually what we do is we we we rank things or we. We one time. I gave bill quiz quiz or but today would I thought we do is have a little game show and I will be your intrepid host and we can match John beaver against Bill Mazzola. Because quite frankly I wouldn't I I would. NFL miserably at this quiz. But I think these two. This'll be interesting and I know bill super competitive so I the this. I don't know you're talking about this. Should be great so anyway. So this is our game show based on the fact that Disney plus launched this week back. And everybody's you know got would about demand the LAUREAN. I figured we'd have a game show about star wars the Star Wars Universe universe. No one individual movie no one individual medium. It's the universe of Star Wars so this is going to consist of three rounds so the first first round will be who set it in the first round each contestant starts with zero points you answer a question right you get one point okay however many points you take into the second round every time nine. It's your turn to answer a question you can wager. How many points you want? Jesus okay now. The questions in the second round are straight trivia questions. But they're very difficult. Okay then for the third round it's kind of like like the Family feud Fast money round at the end will put thirty seconds on the clock. Five fast questions and hands for the point system there before you go. Okay you can tell me how many points you want each question to count four okay okay so and then at the Gammel tallied up in whoever wins is the hero of Yavan. All right all right off the lease there's no buzzing involves worried. I was GONNA have to be quick on the draw. Yeah so it'll be a little difficult round one bill when you edit this put in game show sounds instead of course what an idiot Brown one who said Janis our guest so he will go first. Johnny will pick a number from one to nine. I will then asked I will. Then give him a quote a star wars quote that has a sexual context largeness case and then Johnny will either answer it and gain a point answer. It gained no points because it was incorrect. or he can pass actually. I'm sorry I'm wrong Arabic. If he gets it wrong it goes to bill in bill can steal Gotcha and then it's bills turned on. Okay so Johny.

We like to bring in our long winded friend Johnny Beaver who will be joining us for for the third time today so say hello to the people johnny everybody. It's clobbering time pop culture guru. John beaver little story So is in the mall today. Why because I like? I don't know I wanted to get out of the house. I've been like hold up in my office at work all week. I wanted I get out and walk around and I don't know so went to the mall today with the kids and the wife and we're thinking about getting The twins cell phones this year. Show I I went to the verizon store Kinda like see what my options were our scope out the search scope scope out the financial sich. So it's talking to the Sales Guy There Byron and and We're talking and somehow comes up. He's like a huge wrestling mark. "And welcome the bill and Frankie pop culture sure I am frank and with me as always is bill bill. It's been a minute. That's been a little bit feel like I'm like a little rusty. I feel like I got some ring. Rust gotta run the ropes knock off the rust cows up the back again so took a little hiatus who took a week we went from like three releases and seven days to to a little little aren are kind of recharge jar creative pop culture eating batteries you. Are you ready to go. You ready to to get it on yeah. We got a lot of stuff enough going on in the world of pop culture a lot of stuff in wrestling a lot of stuff in movies so before we get into like the the meat and potatoes of this show a couple of things I want to talk to you about you pissed off a celebrity. I did well yeah. I was a moderate monitor so I got in my i. I like twitter he with a you know moderate celebrity this this past weekend so anybody that knows me knows that. I'm a huge deadpool. Mark not like a not like a new deadpool mark like I've been a dead pool mark since the Joe Kelly Kelly run like in before right so I've always been a deadpool fan. I've read every issue of the ongoing series every iteration ration- of it. I have multiple deadpool statues strewn across my home deadpool commission I do that is true. I have a dental commission and and you know so I think that pool is a character. That's important to the world of comics. He asked the movies are great with Ryan Reynolds but deadpool's important Horton character to the world of comics because he brings a level of levity to comics the doesn't make the book campy your cheesy. It's part of the character grain and who the character is the only car her only. He's the only one that's been really successful breaking the fourth wall in an organic way. That's a good way to put it like He. He his comedy in his breaking the fourth wall. It's very organic works right. I can honestly say to this point. There hasn't been a run on the deadpool book that I disliked okay. that is until Scotty young took over the book and when did that happen so they just had issue fifteen so let's say a year and a few months ago. Gotcha so for those of you don't know who Scott Young is in consume. There's plenty of you. we're we're SCOTTIES. Name got big was he draws and you're gonNA love this. He draws variant covers and on his variant covers. The marvel characters are always baby's ace okay so he draws baby versions of marvel characters on varying covers so I'm not really familiar with any of his other work doc except that so somebody at marvel in this goes back you know in obscure. Johnny beaver would could talk on this for four hours but somebody at Marvel said Hey. This guy draws babies for varying covers offers. Let's give him deadpool. Yeah seemed like a great idea coming off of a very successful well like Gerry Duggan run one of the hottest. Ip's at Marvel. Right now sure standing on its own as a character so they give him the Scott Young and I gotta tell you from the beginning of the run to the end of the run. I thought the book it was a slog. Reading deadpool was a slog. I didn't laugh lafrance. I didn't understand where the the story didn't go anywhere. There was no there was no like underlying plot. It was just it was just really really shitty bill. Did you read any of his Ron. Okay don't waste your time. I will not so so this past weekend so deadpool's one of those books like I like with Batman Batman Book. I get my deadpool. Books are always the first books I read. They go right right to the top of the stack. I've been sitting on deadpool fifteen for a little while because it's just I don't enjoy it anymore. So I finally only read it and I closed it in. I couldn't believe how fucking happy I was that it was over so I went to twitter and I made a comment about how shitty. I thought the run was in the you know Scott Young. I believe my words where should fuck off. I think it was actually go wasn't wasn't it. Go Fuck Yourself. I think it was it was like go back to joining babies and fuck offer something very very clear. It didn't leave anybody wondering where I where I sat with my opinion of the the series so bill. How would you so how would you describe Scotty? Young's reply. You're you're you scored very highly in in in in English on your sat's. How would you describe his his his reply very ambivalent. Take the perfect horrid before you going. I WANNA I want our readers here. Verbatim what you tweeted I have here okay. I have read every issue of DP piece in the beginning. I can honestly say this is my least favourite run in fact it was a steamy pile of dog shit and I'm so happy it's over go back drawing babies and and fuck off Hashtag marvel comics. I Tag Scotty Young Right. No now the new I mean let's not did I didn't see the top of a quick word. Re Scotty Young's run on deadpool. Okay okay all right so ambivalent. I think is a good word. So why don't you read his reply okay. Here's Scott Young's reply reply to now I just I just publicly shit on something. He's been working on for a year. Yeah you call it a pile of dog shit and tell him to fuck off hero back Dang Dang. I honestly might save. We can use this as a pull quote. I might use this as a poll quote on all my books. Hopefully you'll dig what Kelly and Chris Cooking up. It's it's big and awesome so he really didn't sell no sold the insult and then attempted to turn it into promotion for the next writer taking eighty over. I mean sort of amazing. I feel like maybe he was hired or something. I don't know you got you got yanked. I'm speechless. I mean you just got yanked off of Marvel's one of Marvel's top peas after fifteen issues after Disney got the rights to the character and that's your response like how about no response. I don't know you know what I mean. I'm all I'm almost in prayer. It's almost impressive like I feel like. He probably should take it a little more seriously but there's a certain amount of respect given to alike. I'm GonNa do what I do and if people don't like it I don't care and that includes his the people at Marvel. They don't have gone down on deadpool. They take me off the book fine. I'm still GonNa do what I do and this is a certain amount I mean I think it's crazy but but also you know a a little bit of like well I mean he's sticking to his guns. They may be shitty guns but he's sticking thome shitty. Guns should guns name of the episode so I don't know I guess I just feel like when you're in when that's what you do for a living. Shouldn't you care your customers. Think shouldn't you care what the people who are putting food on the table for your family think because if you don't you're you're not going to be able to put food on the table very long. I just I don't. I don't get this and he's not the only one out there. That's like that nowadays. I just don't get it and I'm glad he's off the book. I mean if I was marvel. I wouldn't let them touch another thing. Obviously there is a segment and there's a segment of the population relation that likes the baby. Variant covers can go back to doing that. pivoting pivot to that was a friend's reference. I okay now. That person was just on the other day. I'm actually off topic but I'm actually right in the middle of binge-watching Riyadh during the complete friends rewatch. I think they hold up actually I did too. I was just talking to John beaver about this like it's very much. The same Seinfeld like the music is dated the hair as data's it is some of the technology is dated but the writing Straw is strong enough to hold up. I mean it gets a little spotty towards the very end and the first season is pretty rough but plot. It's really a good show and it's actually it's amazing that like Ross and Rachel storyline is what catapulted into the stratosphere but I actually Ashley think when the show pivots away from Rawson Rachel and brings everybody else more front and center it gets better. I agree agree one hundred percent I to this day. I think it's one of the best sitcoms I know. That's probably not a popular opinion but it's in my top probably somewhere between five and seven yeah and in this and I know a lot of it's like nostalgia because like when I think of friends I think like sitting in the dorm room with you watching it or you know but I mean I'm. I'm watching it right now. Al I'm watching it right. This is the first time I've watched it in order literally since it aired so are you. I'm in season seven of she. That's where it's like really really good yeah. I really found myself so I'd said this John Now. We're totally off on a rabbit hole here but I said this to John that the big thing. I'm taking taking away. This time is like what I want when I watched it when it was on the air my favorites were the guys Chandler Joey Ross where I thought were the funniest now watching it again. I'm I'm Courtney Cox. Jennifer Aniston's comedic abilities are at least I sort of tremendously underrated them. They're both really really good. Jennifer Aniston in particular is awesome at reactions like she's. She's very subtle more subtle than I remembered. That's a very every two thousand nineteen point of view right because like I feel like when it was on like Chandler was the breakout star because of the way he's spoke which is sort of normal normal now but back then like doing the could I be wearing whatever that way he spoke. I felt like he was wearing anymore. Close right and then Joey so we actually watching the first season again like Joey is really not likeable and they really reworked everybody. You just make them when they just they change them into just a complete buffoon yeah right so. I don't know how we got there. Well I said pivot right so limiting greatest outtake in TV history so funny so pivoting to defecating at work. Well not even that much you shit on dental and now you're gonNA talk about shading real sea bill. This is why you're one of the best to do it right so I've been a new building at work right. We got brand. New Office completely remodeled in one of the things I was most excited for was the bathroom Athem because if you recall in my last office I have the toilets shifting situation right the commode shifting right right where you left the log right so I was very excited our first day in there to get into the bathroom. Grab a stall in just let it go. You know what I mean. Yup sure so I get an air have my cup of coffee. The mood strikes me. I make my way. I'm amped coffee. Does its job coffee. Does its job like it. Always does get into the stall. I sit down and bang. My knees knees slam up against the Toilet Paper dispenser so you know those big toilet paper dispensers in public bathrooms hold like seventeen rolls of toilet paper. Yeah it's right like I don't think they put it high enough so in order to Oh shit on the toilet you have to like I have to sit at like two o'clock okay so which is not comfortable because the toilets. It's not shaped to sit at two o'clock definitely not no it'd be weird so I was like immediately disappointed just so bummed out the because like one of my favorite things to do at work is escape to the bathroom and just have like a nice long shit. Yeah me too feeling everybody. Every guy is like I bet so. This has been taken away from me. Maybe it's on purpose. I don't know so the other day I'm sitting there. I'm sitting at two o'clock and there's somebody in the stall next to me I mean in our feet are probably eight inches apart because I'm at two o'clock right so I looked.

There's going to be a low-key t._v.. Show we know there's GonNa Be Winter Soldier and Falcon T._V.. Show we know there's going to be a Wanda Vision TV show and there's a rumor Jeremy Renner Hawkeye many series which I don't think has been officially announced yet but all those will not be independence independence. They'll be part of the M._C.. You and we're going to start experimenting with bouncing back and forth from T._v.. Streaming two movies so that should be really interesting to see what kind of shape face for I'm sure they'll be so some surprises says maybe even some movies we didn't see coming. Certainly I think you would almost expect a casting announcement or to last time they weren't hall h was when they out of nowhere introduced Brie Larson his captain marvel expecting something thing along those lines of marvel's always got something about up their sleeve so big Newsweek next week and have Tony here to help us reacted that break down. "Now i know what you're thinking no no no no you sick sick mother fuckers i'm talking about former navy man johnny beaver are expert of all things spiderman so this episode we're going to take you on a deep dive of the canon of amazing spiderman book end if you have any questions hit us up on twitter send us an email hit us up on instagram will give you all those addresses the end of the show listen enjoy going i'm here with a there's always till they came in a in a the spiderman expert himself johnny fever did that it'd we're just happy to be here in honor so this this this section of of of the show i thought we we talk about you know the source material disease told these movies that means so much to us in you know kind of go back and look at the comics over the years talked about on you know the different takes on on the book the writers artists you know 'em in how certain arcs have you know influenced are are pinions all of the the franchise so you know look up to you guys and say how do you guys wanna where you guys wanna so spiderman was the first comic book i ever around my mom bought me a copy of made experiment one eighty five i still own it you're burgers graduation when he doesn't quite gradually so you know i cannot express is a bit in when we were talking about the movies but this character has always meant a whole lot to me you know as a child i love spicy comics and they never really grew out of it you know a lot of people spiderman is there introduction to getting into a comic books it's generally been the flagship title marvel an because of that it's typically been written in any way that it's a very sort of meat and potatoes comic book that is friendly to new readers friendly the kids things like that too easy to jump on board which is which is you know it's an interesting point right so spiderman is clearly the flagship title of marvel right and has been forever you could make an argument that in the nineties these kind of usurped power a little bit i would certainly agree with that what i would say is that will be x books in particular during the claremont era 'em and even immediately after inhabited their own universe and very rare crossed over right optional wolverine into other books which is why you didn't do that's more faith in strange in comic books where everybody crosses and everybody's book but dx man universe you had to reid all these different titles but it was only a little more mature you know is more of like a soap opera the characters were in pretty much every very popular generation back then it wasn't supposed to announce soccer right yeah he could just pick up any given x book has any idea what fuck is going on also i think john john's point did it kind of made a little a minute ago also not like kids is much more accessible kids sweating spiderman was x men is like at its core is a you know a a comment on 'isms whether it's racism or meetings are metaphor for people being ostracized were sidey just right for you give them or whatever you know minority group 'em happened fit the mold you know obviously we see next to it they use it as a metaphor homosexuality ryan's like that i don't say spiderman is not a topical book there certainly were issues in areas where it was but never to that kind of extend metaphor is always much more simple again kind of going back to this is a regular guy get superpowers but that doesn't mean he doesn't have regular guy problems and that's really the crux of of the character regardless of vieira and the worst spiderman books are usually wants to forget that so so if you look at dc who would you what would you say the flagship titled dc now or you know historically for now i think now batman mhm i think historically would probably be superman now do you think the reason i ask this question is do you think that i would say starkly outsiders like non comic book you know monthly leaders it's probably superman and i would say probably that we now just because some people think comics the first two people they probably well the first three people they probably think spiderman batman superman not necessarily not order but to me it's like i i kind of feel like batman is really only the the lynch pin of dc to people who are comic book leader i think that's true now i think in the fifties sixties forties fifties sixties maybe even seventies superman was both those things you agree yeah well i mean i certainly think that's super man the character and deep deep so that character transcend comic books 'em it is more of american folklore at this point in american mythology 'em in a way that no other apple character is really minutes to capture tom seaver man of paper and things like that yeah those beezer thing people know about it which is true in because when you look at the sales of these books superman doesn't even sniff out of the box right now at special i guess the reason i'm making that point was to say like you know you have this spiderman title in amazing spiderman in marvel and it's been the clear number one in the clear most accessible book anybody seen tire time says it says it's been out i mean i think that's an interesting point you know if i did not start fifty sixties marvel revolution fantastic for david 'em she transcended 'em and if there is any moral character that any random on the street due in nineteen eighty six it was spiderman you could imagine how the public reacted to spiderman he was everyone superhero the sensation of the nation when cargo space still just nerdy kid like us there people didn't really know outside of spiderman a lot of marvel book which is again why i'm such a huge risk when it came out because that was not a give us a b look character has been canceled how many times you know spidey is always been aimless character is ever been cargo he was the face of the company you know we'd be spiderman little face in the in the in the corner box with issued for right and so you know i i would say i right now specifically the title batman is definitely be flagship title for dc see 'em you know they always talk of the trinity with dc which is wonderful and batman and superman there isn't really anything like that with marvel i don't think you know is it spiderman everybody else mia wolverine is incredibly popular character you know there's always that's where the wolverine cameo they used to go on in the eighties and nineties where he would just cameo in everybody book to boost sales dark hawkers thrash you know there is a there is a moment where wolverine was challenging plunging spiderman in terms of popularity i think probably in the nineties but i you know again i just don't think the character is is accessible he's not a wider range of audience which is why i never got over the hump which is why i that's why i think batman batman is dc's guy now in spiderman is still marvel's guys because they're infinitely more releasable as characters than their overpowered counterparts spiderman to me even more so the batman batman so you know lot darker spiderman even batman bruce wayne psyche is a lot more fucked fucked up in spiderman spiderman is like almost everybody at some level tim relate to the team being ostracized because of being different being different right and the fact that he was so young i think what made him different that almost everybody else there'll be more vulnerable than anybody else was in spite of but when you when when twelve year old john on his reasoning is amazing spiderman one eighty five for the first time it's like he's seeing himself represented in the comic books which is the first time that's ever happened right they were all adults they still are kind of a couple other super boyish like stuff like that but i mean nobody nobody was nobody like peter parker is a phenomenal yeah i mean i think you know standard said you know at the time of sort of the idea of taking robyn making robyn be the main character right that's it was it seems sort of passe now but it was a risk at the time you know all the template for these believe in these books was adult males right that was the fort wonder woman basically you know that was a very unusual at the time it was this something different eras risk as it were a scam kinda had nothing to lose a lot of this stuff marvelous kind of if it doesn't sell is gonna go under that's what it is and then you know he obviously had a magic touch we can talk more about how much of that touch was is vs big artist said he's working with whether it's on a beer curvier diko and you know there's a really great i really enjoyed there is a there is a great image title done without earlier in the year called hey kids comics a written by saint louis wolfman feel free to fact check me no i'm sorry a chicken okay written my chicken in it was you know they changed the name protect innocent about the history of the comic book industry and they really show how you know these guys like stanley just used these guys like steve dicko who were just like content machines they would just pump out content like crazy but never got you know the glory in the dude if they were you know in in you know in like the the guy who plays the guy who supposed to be jack jack kirby character and above obvious because he like all charles cigar he's grumpy however the go unsolved but it's i should check it out it's a good reads you'd you'd really like it because it it's really behind the curtain of the conflict industry happened with that man to feel finger absolutely yeah i mean it's it's not just about marvel stuff it's about it's about all the different titles and how the artist and it was very incestuous and they're gonna jump around yeah so i mean just her anybody again or super nerdy out here and just to give everybody kind of clarification of what frank talking about here so there's different you could write a car 'em some writers literally go panel by panels describing what they want and the panels of dialogue be forty artist does anything the marvel method very different 'em sistan leave these sort of god of marvel movie editor in chief as well the the writer and i put that in air quotes the writer of almost every major marvel character in the sixties for the method was very somewhat but basically he would create an outline and then his artists particularly jack kirby in steve did co would then illustrate the entire comic and then stan stan would go back in and right dialogue over the cop right and sometimes he outlined he provided literally be like so basically steve dicko and jack kirby were really co writers coke lotteries and a lot of this and there a lot of animosity when they laughed and stan is always sort of said anybody could tell me why steve left i'm happy to hear it there's been a lot of rivers he laughed because he didn't think that green goblin should be over and i was born he laughed because because he didn't have he wasn't getting acknowledge the way he felt 'em steve apparently was always somewhat of a weird guy kirby had a lot of bad blood you laugh marvel and went to dc and created this whole fourth world thing that's been really worked out but everyone seems to love in hindsight now 'em he took over like the jimmy olsen comic and turn it into this fear and he introduced dark side and all these other things a the new god's but you know the dc method tended to be the writer release says everything and then paid like swan on superman's would just illustrate what the writer told me that was straight they would they would basically like story the raiders basically storyboards issue and even tell them why no way scott snyder does now especially given camera angles for the shot like i want this camera angle you know looking up at batman batman says this fan does this in is it really tells me artist what to do so all they only creativity coming artist is literally your yeah so you know for instance 'em frank recommended this some new daredevil series start earlier this year and the first issue i downloaded directors cut that included ships that are skis he's script for daredevil and it's literally you know four point one which is paid for panel one four point two four point three and he's outlining everything that he wants all these different pals some of them could be more like a screenplay where you know they might write everything but not that specific about how the tail set up an unlucky artist kind of do what they wanna do and be more of a director for that screenwriter stan was very hands off he is also writing up to adopt upwards of a dozen books at that time so somewhat understandable 'em wonder how much of that has changed now precisely to avoid the situation that stanley got himself in where they go into like nobody wants to deal with that so now it's just like okay duty art i'll do the writing well i wonder how much of it is like i just like a chicken and egg thing i wonder how much of it as a result of that everybody knows about everybody who's gotten in the comics at some point and been interested in the history of comics has heard about some bad blood between way and showing her especially with kirby well i'm going to you know adams who you know you have to take everything he says with a grain of salt because according to kneel adams he invented.

"Twenty. It is Katie K, CLYDE. I appreciate your call. And man every time you call. You make me think and I loved that. I don't mean I agree with you. But you make me think, and here's I'm gonna put it at its most basic elemental level. Just so I can keep track of it. You argue about the semantics of media versus the word network. All you want. But here's reality. If you and I are sitting, and we're talking, and we're discussing and debating and negotiating, and I tell you in front of God and TV cameras and everybody, I tell you. I say, CLYDE, I promise I'm not going to do something. And a week later. I do exactly what I told you. I wasn't gonna do. How motivated are you to take me at my word? The next time. I ask you to take me at my word. And that's where we are. Right now, the president will restart the government if he gets what he wants the Democrats want the government restarted before they give the president what he wants. He wants to talk about news and media, and how you how you get your news where you get your news from the balance, the the the spectrum that I think is the best way to do it. Get all the information. You can from all the different places. You can if you get consistent with that. You will start to see patterns, and you will start to see adjectives are a big big thing. Here's a major difference between the headline racist statement and perceived racist statement. Perceived racist statement as newsworthy racist statement. That's opinion. Eight six six three nine one ten twenty or Katie k radio dot com or the right automotive. Text line is eight six six three nine one ten twenty Jerry. What's up, brother? How you doing in burned out listening to a rhetoric which? It's all about rhetoric man Renault that what I wanted to say is I'm seventy nine years old. I'm going through what you call Schaal despite mine, which is the safest part of life to be in right now. Okay. They're using words like Eric as barriers, okay? Right while barricade fence things like that. All right. Let's let's use a better world. Let's let's just sort of a new word. Let's call it a put up a steel curtain. You're all you're seeing what bend to play a curtain is something you can crawl under like as a kid. You know what I mean? But the thing is let's call it. A steal little put up a little bit of a steel curtain Curtis. We go and closed. You understand me so far? All right. All right. Let's just all still. Instead of looking at life is something screwed up. So take a look Mexico in the United States working together as brother and sister, brother, brother, whatever you wanna call. Thing again is now let's take a look as well. We the Mexicans need worked on there. And they want to go back home to and the Mexicans one contribute to us. And we want to contribute to them. Now. Let's take a look at the ball peninsula. For example. Let's start looking at as a barrel. Wasteland? Let's make that into another Florida. Let's bring on the dirt. Kelvin put a palm trees and make that help Mexico to develop that into a a, you know, another Florida, you know, right, but yeah. But here's the deal though. Dude. People have tried that before well not getting into geography. Are you familiar with the Salton sea? Well care what you do. But you can put Sandra. I don't care what you want to visit the beach. I don't want to visit the beach. They way let's take a look at the Mississippi River, you know, I mean, they got what they call a permanent casinos. Let's go back to the old riverboat gamblers Reno they travel between New Orleans only up to up the Mississippi over we update Chicago way. But you know, I don't know how far away, but the thing is let's put the good traveling casinos. The liquor status that how does that help with Mexico? No, it helps everybody out, you know, skirt excursion. So the Cayman Islands or going down to the bomb is this only we get we can have our own little mecca here between you know, going slam into a boat and just sit on a water. I'm looking at the sunset all day. But here's the deal though. Dave what you're saying, Jerry, I understand it. But it's wrong. And the reason I know it's wrong is I had been on those boats does riverboat casino docked here all the time business those people when they're they're when they're gambling. If that boat is sitting still they don't care if that boat is being transported to the moon. They don't care. No one I've ever seen at a casino boat. And I've been to a few of them Ben Ben to him in southern Indiana. There's one on the Ohio been to a Mississippi at no point looking around. Did I get the impression that lady playing? The slots wants to take a cruise down the river. And as far as the word to use as getting along with Mexico. I'd go with amigos eight six six three nine one ten twenty or Katie k radio dot com. Bob in West Virginia. Hi, bob. Hey, how you doing? I'm doing good, man. What's up with you? I just sitting here listening to the rainfall, but I wanted it. I think you're really hitting on something important when you talk about the way that we go about sourcing are news. You know, you you've been in radio up a good long while and you remember the ancient days of the teletype. Oh, yeah. UPI coming into the station. The internet changed all that. But you know, that was the raw news back in the day. Right. That's what the newspaper would take and turn into an article on the front page or the TV station would take it and turn it into reporter out, whatever you'd get the information. And you would write the article or write the script around the information. Exactly. And the the thing is what that's what where I think. We're we're sailing in a way is in the ability to discern opinion from from hard reporting. Right. Wow. That's I mentioned this earlier look for the adjective look for the adjective is described as racist. Or is it described as perceived by some as racist? Right or or just simply giving you give the quote yet. But when when we talk about, you know, you're in your in your conversation with CLYDE about whether we're talking about network TV station. What have you the bottom line is if people really want to see news news as opposed to what's being filtered? As news times have changed from back in those days when only the radio station TV station newspaper had the seat from AP or whatever you can go to the sources everybody can right. And and and get straight news from the ABC from Bloomberg from France from Reuters. They're all out there. But the money is made in parenting there. Reporting into some sort of value added product content. Exactly. Yeah. That's that's the key. And you're right. We aren't very good at differentiating one from the other. But in partial defense of us, there are media outlets to try and dress up commentary as news, and we buy into it. If it's a commentary show, but their scrolls going across the bottom of it a lot of people assume, that's news. And that's just because they don't know any different because in the past anybody sitting there telling you something about the news in the past. It was news. It's not necessarily that anymore determine is content, and I can make a whole lot more money if I can come up with content than sit and read the new script over and over, and you know that. Oh, absolutely news actually having reporters out there. Doing news is more expensive than having people sitting around a table. Chatting at each other. Not did sitting around the table shouting at each other ain't mine. Oh, no. I scream at the radio. Fifties. White male American. That's my job now to scream at the radio. Sure. I'm I'm I've entered my Geezer hood forgive me for asking. But what the hell's that pay because I'm in? It not a heck of a lot. A you know what I've lived. I've lived on radio money most of my life. I can live on like Johnny beaver said I've lived on next to nothing for most of my life. I may not be a bad deal. Well, that's the thing not a whole lot. Basically, that's radio money. There you go. Bob, you're doing a good job in a public service tonight. Eddie, and I appreciate it. There was a lady that called me earlier that said for the thousands of people that are listening to you, and Bob I want you to know. I don't know who that lady was. But I so appreciate her optimism when it comes to meet poison in that number of mines, Katie k radio. Now, you can see great performances on the radio Popstars sports stars. People.
