"Difference for your now on today's show I'm with a wonderful Kevin, Johnny Oh how are you? Doing very good. Thank you. I've just checked your I and that's a very difficult one. Say Can I can try that again Kevin Gm Very Closest Kevin Joni. I'd try these things. No matter. How hard are trimark sometimes I don't get them right. Now. Mark is the founder of average Joe Finances but. This a lot more to mark than just for, and we're going to be talking about his career in the navy and you know you've had a long long career in the Navy I'd love to start their time in the navy. Sure. So my time in the navy has been phenomenal. It's been A. Just a wonderful experience for me because I joined the navy when I was seventeen years old I had to have my my parents actually sign a waiver form to allow me to enlist at such a young age. and. I had to wait a year before could even ship out to boot camp and actually finish highschool as well. It wasn't even finished with high school with the time when I signed up. And You know I graduate high school while Oh, my friends are sitting there having their graduation parties and everyone's getting ready for the summer I'm shipping off the Great Lakes up in Chicago and heading off to basic training. That's so nice smooth. Journey started for me. Yeah. Definitely do you think that? Over those years that it's helped you become the person you are today. One hundred percent yeah. I would not be who I am today if I didn't join the navy. So I I often speak with people that have served. Yours is quite a quite a long period of time. Do you become somewhat institutionalize. Once you leave is it hard to let go of some of the I guess the discipline that you gather and you become. So I think, that's part of what I'm doing right now is I'm working on my transition to change my mindset a bit from the you know the structured military lifestyle where You know everything has its place and you know it's a great structure to be a part of right. But you know translating that into civilian life. It's that's not always how things work outside of the military right so right now, I'm working on a mindset shift. To just Kinda change how I look at things just changed my perspective. And and that's one of the things I'm doing right now with average Joe Finances and. You know starting my my side business and I I just recently got my real estate license Yup and I'm doing that I have a rental property back in Virginia that I rent out. So I plan to buy more and this is kind of just the start of my next career where I'm going to be my own boss and really excited about that. So the transition. May Be Difficult. But I'm trying to start it early enough to where. When I finally retire between twenty and twenty two years that it's not gonna be a big shock to the system. You taking steps right now it's a credit to you. So were done now I love the nine average finances this it's fantastic. It's straight to the point Suzanne. This nine that I'm never ever going to forget how did you come about that name? Awesome. Well, thank you for asking so. Average. You'll find it's kind of funny because I said. As I started investing in real estate and looking towards the future outside of the navy and I said, Hey, I want do something. Build something. That's my own but share you KINDA WANNA..

Oh, welcome back, everybody. Jason and Alexis in the morning. I'm Jace with Lex, Kenny and Bubba. It is Thursday, October 8th 2020 Bubba filling in for dawn, Who's taking some much deserved the time off. Bubba, How you doing? I'm fantastic, OK, I'm the new That's my name. I'm getting T shirt I'm wearing around everywhere. I'm sorry I accidentally called Grant Bubba for no apparent reason. I actually I do know my my Cappie and my mom or my It's really cap ease friend. More like a nephew of Cappie. His name was Bubba. Because you know everybody in the South. They have nicknames, you know, and And Bubba is his nickname. And I've been texting him the last couple of days with stuff of my mom. And maybe he's just in my head for whatever reason, but yeah, so I apologize. He must be a good guy. I'll tell you he is. You know what he Bubba is? Yeah, He's a good man. He's really helped out my mom a lot so Ah, you elect you mentioned it Briefly. When we're talking about my gross food episode yesterday you watched Mohr ratchet on Netflix and I'm dying to ask you. Are. How are you feeling? O okay, so ratchet right away. I couldn't stop watching. I was captivated and then you know, Of course, we had stopped because of, you know, just life. I could just sit there and binge because that's what I really wanted to do. So yesterday sat down, watched the couple more episodes. S so I have two left. And I'm still in it, Jase. I still think it's wow what is happening? Why did they do what they do? And the story is really sticking, sticking its weird random things that don't make sense or why or for sensationalism doesn't feel just over the top at all. It's a great story. There are some really uncomfortable moments, especially when they're doing some. What is it gay therapy or a gay conversion therapy? That's a really hard to watch. I actually had to mute it for a few seconds. Because one of the techniques that they use it's just really uncomfortable to watch, which Probably really happens. That's the other thing That's really scary, but Anyway, eh? So there are some gory parts of it. Like I said, the guy with the skin coming off flying off. That's really who you are, but in general, it's It's a great show. I hope that there's a satisfying ending. Each episode feels like a move. It feels like it's almost two hours. They packed so much into each episode. There's seven episodes total. I mean, eight. Sorry. There's eight s o. I'm still like it. Did you feel satisfaction? By the end of it will be more or is it? There will be another night. Yeah, No, there will be Maura. I got I got to the last season. A R last episode and liked it like I thought he landed the plane for this first season really well, and I'm looking forward to another season. Did you? You know one of the things about nurse Ratchet. My talkers is it is an origin story on on the character of nurse Ratchet from one flew over the Cuckoo's Nest. Did you see the episode with the Puppet show? Yes. Okay, that wass Proof where you discover why she is the way she is and her her brother and what torture they had to have gone through and that they're even semi functioning until adults That is the most surprising of it all, and just the way that they filmed that was so touching. They did like a to screen. Do you see her? Watching this puppet show, but it's actually not really what they're showing the Children at all. But it's her own puppet show going through what happened to her as a child. So you're seeing that and her reaction and Who, man? Yeah, There's some fantastic acting in this. Sarah Poulsen, who plays nurse Ratchet. Fantastic. Also. Nurse bucket changes. Judy Davis. Judy Davis is so good. Oh, she's She is my favorite Ryan Murphy character in many seasons. I love Pepper. I have a few favorites, but she is all of Jessica Lange's characters I loved, but Judy Judy Davis is like my new Jessica Lange. Nurse bucket is sensational and on Lee gets better as ratchet goes on. And what about Sharon Stone and her? Damn I mean, Oh, man, if I had a monkey to have you wearing matching outfits with my monkey too. Oh, God, my face. This isn't give anything away. Sharon Stone Super rich I've mentioned before my favorite sequence because Sharon Khun deliver a line and I'm not going to even come close. But Sharon got this like giant mansion to stay out instead of a hotel, and the reporter was talking to sharing and reporter goes. Where's your monkey? And she goes, the monkey gets her own sweet And then the monkey has it's like own mansion. And I'm like, Oh, Sharon is so good. Does it bring the monkey to business meetings? No doped. I don't. I don't bring the monkey to business meetings Ratchet on Netflix, everybody that's going to do it for us today. If you're listening, and your kid that's being bullied. You go out there and be yourself because nobody can tell you're doing it wrong, right, Lex? That's right. You do you unless you're a terrible person, have a fantastic day, and we will talk tomorrow by friends. We love you. It's a beautiful day. My talk 1071..

"Welcome back, if you're just tuning in, you miss, Johnny. Oh, that's right. I've got the rainmaker with me today. Jacobsen is out on a sign in DC. Maybe he's in Baltimore. I don't know. I know he's teaching a class somewhere. He's probably a good time. Hopefully, you staying warm but today with me on the show. I have John O'Donnell, which is awesome. We just had a great segment where John was actually able to spend a little bit of time. We're talking about multiple directions inside of the market as far as how to generate consistent income, whether the markets are going up whether the markets are going down. What was that third direction? John sideways rather than markets are going sideways. If you're just tuning in. Maybe your first time listener, maybe you've been with us for the whole show get excited. The best is yet to come. And John a lot of our listeners are looking to replace their income with trading and investing and a lot are looking to upgrade the lifestyle right where it's almost time for those New Year's resolutions. Right. And some are just looking to supplement their income, and I've even had students come out to half day class. I'm sure you've had this before too. You've taught a ton of them and they'd come out. And they said, you know, their goal is to fire their boss, and really when I hear somebody say that I just think that means they want to really be one hundred percent in control of their their choices and their time in life. Now, what are some of the things when you're out at a half day class, or when you're working with students, whether their brand new students whether they've been with us for for for years and years, what are the some of the things that you really focus on with people who are looking to generate more income, and maybe touch on the passive income side of things you started on that a little bit in our last segment, and then even onto the active income side of things what are some of those key points for people who want to generate more income. Well, the biggest thing we're seeing in our seminars. So he. He's the ones I present. At Ryan is that robotics is having a big impact on the formation of jobs. Now, we've heard that our unemployment rate today is about three and a half percent. The problem is is the people in the workforce have dropped out. And therefore, the denominator has changed. And therefore, it looks pretty good. But the problem is McKenzie. Did a study on this is that it's estimated over the next twenty years Ryan that as much as fifty percent of the job units, as we know them defined today will disappear due to robotics or mechanization. They make I thought was kind of a tongue in cheek joke. But it really isn't. If you think about it. I think you'll like this. They say the factory the future will have three things a dog a man and a robot. Now, the robot Saturday do all the work. The man is there to feed the dog. And of course, the dog is here to keep the man away from the robot. Yep. So at the end of the day if you think about this. What I'm finding in our classes, the primary motivation of people turning to learn to engage in the capital markets who trading and investing either actively or passively is they want mobility. They want the opportunity to participate in bull and bear markets are even flat markets, but they want the ability to pack this onto a laptop or in some cases, even a little ipad and be mobile, and because many of these markets trade twenty four hours a day seven days a week, and you can be highly productive which just a little bit of bandwidth that you might pick up using a Cup of coffee from Starbucks on a nice long weekend, and you can be outrageously productive and produce supplemental. Art, maybe even evolved to primary source of income, but don't give up your primary source of income right now. Learn these skills use him to complement your lifestyle and build diversified. Streams have been come. That's what people want in today's economic environment. Yeah. Absolutely. And the whole thought of. Hanging onto your primary source of income. You know, when when we when we do research on multiple streams of income. I mean, heck when you do research on on millionaires in the average millionaire out there, you see that they have at least five streams of income on average some have more, right? So when you look at what your what your job is which is your primary source of income, then you can have trading different different ways of generating insider of trading, passive income opportunities active income opportunities derivatives dividends. There's all sorts of ways where we can generate income there, you can build multiple streams of income very very quickly. The thing that I completely agree with you on. There is is don't just cut one of those income streams, right? One of the things that we've noticed from from some of our students coming in just looking to add that extra stream of income is even they didn't like their job so much. But now that they don't have to have that job. They pick a job that they actually really liked 'cause they're not solely reliant on that job for their income because they have multiple streams of income. It's all about it's all about doing the things that we love rather than just doing the things that we have to do. And it's one of the reasons why job job stands for just over. Broke if we're just relying on that job to support our lifestyle for just relying on that job just to to to feed our family, and that's our only source of income. If it goes away. You know, it goes away we're in a real bad spot. So j o b just stands for that that just over broke cliche, which I'm sure everybody's heard. But we talk a lot about those things on the show that they've been around for so long those sayings have been around for so long these these acronyms have been around for so long. But it's but it's not because they're not accurate. It's not because they don't have some validity to one of the things I'd like to do real quick. I see this stack of tickets is getting a little bit smaller John has been given giving them away a score at a time. We could say when you say, John, we do another giveaway. Maybe another twenty tickets or so I love it. All right. We are in the giving mood here. We are going to go ahead and do that right now with a half day class coming up in your area, the half day classes, where you see exactly what it takes for you to generate income inside of the markets. Maybe it's passive income. Maybe it's active income really depends on your situation. Your goals? Now, just a second. You're gonna have a chance to win a set a.

"I got Johnny. Oh here with me today. John when I'm talking with a lot of our listeners, and I know you do this to follow you on social media. So I know you're very active with this. But that's that's a great place where I'm able to communicate with a lot of our listeners a lot of our students and a lot of them are saying that they don't have enough money for retirement, and those that do have enough money are saying, they're not quite sure how to safely invest it. And then the key word that keeps coming up over and over these conversations is that word safely, invest, it know right now inside our financial markets. The market go with the Dow go up five hundred points one day in the down five hundred points. The next day. There's a lot of all its sodium, especially with prices being so high rightfully so people are very very concerned that they're going to lose some of the big chunk of their retirement. Like we did back in two thousand seven like we did back in the early two thousands. And so one of the things I was I would like to see like to hear from you. Or what are some of the key points? What are some of the key points that you could share with our financial family out? There are radio listeners on what they could be doing to number one protect those retirement accounts and number to keep them growing. You'll keep them generating income for tomorrow without kind of you know, I guess it goes into that protection without limiting depsite. Well, there's no question that price volatility is a challenge. Especially in today's world. We are living regardless of what political parties in power. We are living in a time of very aggressive uncertainty and a lot of it is going to continue. I mean, there's no. No place to hide that's perfectly safe. But there are strategies one can apply, and let's talk about some of the risks that are out there to.

"johnny oh" Discussed on 860AM The Answer

"Welcome to the show. If you're a first time listener, the we are pleased to meet you name is Ryan cook. And joining me today is I like to call the rainmaker is Johnny. Oh, John Donald come Online Trading Academy. Our chief knowledge officer John is filling in for Larry Jacobson. So John that's a big Hughes to fill. But one of the things I saw when John was walking in. Here's John has some big feet. So I think he's up for the task, John. How you doing today? I'm great. Let's roll awesome. Thanks for coming out. Thanks for filling in John is definitely not a stranger here on the radio show. A lot of you guys. If he listen to us before you've definitely heard the wisdom's the wisdom of the rainmaker here. And so I'm excited to have him here with us today as as Larry is out on out on assignment, we'll say he's teaching a class in Washington DC or something. But John one of the things I always like to talk about on the show, especially when we're kicking off the show because I think a lot of people fall into this same type of a category is, you know, we we've been told not as kids. It's not polite to talk about money, but that's one of the fun things that we get to do on the show is we just get talked about money and not just what the color of the money is or what the money looks like or how to full. It it into a paper airplane or make that little I on top of the pyramid. Look at everybody. But one of the things that we love to talk about on the show. And so glad that we have you on here for is talking about how to turn one dollar to two dollars. Right. How to generate consistent income how to generate consistent income and even specifically inside of the financial markets. One of the things I always like to kick the show off. And we really follow this theme throughout our our is usually how it's just a to have consistent income you have to have a consistent strategy and throughout the show. We'll talk about making money the markets are going down. We'll talk about money making money as the marks are going up. But that's really the the key. Right. That's really the key is if we're going to have consistent income we have to have a strategy that can perform consistently no matter what the market is doing whether the market is going up whether the market is going down, whether the market is going sideways. One of the things I would like to kick over you is just a question. Let you run with it and kind of drop some of the Johnnie, oh, golden nuggets on us. What are some of the keys that our listeners need to focus on to be able to generate consistent income inside the markets. Well, this may sound rather simplistic. But why is income support income is what drives exchange exchange? In fact, is the foundation of civilization. And at the end of the day, we all need sources of income. Now where you're you going to generate that income from is pretty straightforward. It combat rather be further active. You can go out in exchange your labor with an employer and produced goods and services and create income. Are you can be rather passive and have a plan that's decisive disciplined that allows you to participate in the capital markets, and we believe here at Online Trading Academy and prior trading radio, specifically that your money can work a lot harder for you. But the real reason we all need income. And it's not simplistic is that trade is the foundation of civilization. And that's what's very very important. And regardless if we are going to focus on passive income are more. Active ways to produce income. It's pretty obvious. Given the rates have inflation the cost of living, and you know, giving the aging the boomer situation with over ten thousand baby boomers per day. Retiring that their primary source of income eventually is going to go away. And we're all going to be forced to live out of our wealth bucket. Our retirement bucket either voluntarily or involuntarily that day's gonna come for all of us it's unavoidable. So we might as well figure out a solution. And let's face it. Ryan we all need to get started earlier not later because the day of reckoning in front of all about there's no way to avoid it. Yeah. The best day to plant a tree is yesterday. Right. Well, we can't do anything about yesterday. But we can sure make sure we plant that tree. Get that nest egg gro in today. And one of the words you threw out there a minute and a half or so ago who was the word civilization you were talking about trading. It's kind of that as a foundational piece in civilization. And I I just love that thought because one of the things that I always tell students. Coming out to one of my half day. Classes is is people have been trading successfully for thousands and thousands of years, whether they're they're trading rice into rice market, whether they're trading cattle, whether they're trading goats, whether they're trading precious stones with it, no matter what people have been trading and doing it successfully for thousands of thousands of years, and it's always been it's always ties back to very very basic simple principles. We say, basic and simple. But that doesn't mean it's necessarily easy to execute thousands of years ago. People struggled with it, and some people did well, and even today some people struggle with it and some people do well. But the thing I always like to point out is there wasn't a fancy software that people used back then and there isn't necessarily. It's not needed doesn't make things easier. It makes things easy, but it's not necessarily needed right now. I guess the point I'm trying to get at in here. Is one of the things that might my golf coach said back in back in high school. I was trying to make the golf team. I was terrible golfer is just a good thing that very few people tried out for it. But one of the things he said, this is not the it's not the arrow it's the Indian. Meaning it's not the software. It's the trader it's the skill that the individual has no matter what we're trading. It's the skill. The person hasn't been able to execute it. And that's very very true inside of the markets. Now, we have softwares and different things that help us now. But so often we rely on on a piece of a I to do the work for us when it really just boils down to buying low and selling high early in any market condition. It's all about buying low and selling high, even if you're shorting, which is making money as the markets are going down, you're still buying low and selling high you're just doing it in a different in a different order, but John you pricey this big stack of tickets right here. These tickets are for our half day class. And what are we what we usually do at this point in time? I know it's been many months or so Cincinnati John here. But one of the things I would like to do is. I always like to ask my co host if it's okay if we give away let's say ten. Ten of these passes. What he say ten well how about we do twenty? We'll do we'll do to scholar. This is the season. Yes. More than merrier. Let's give away twenty. That's a great idea is the season. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna give away twenty passes to per collar. So it's going to be it's going to be two to our to our ten callers. Let me tell you what you're going to get with these passes. Because right now, we have a half day class up in your area and at the half day classes, where you're going to see exactly what it takes really analyze the market to be able to determine where you could be buying and where you could be selling. Now, the half day classes about three hours long, but we described as the half day class, but your investment in this. If you win a set of these passes is going to be three hours of your of your time. And it just a second. You're gonna have a chance to win a set..

"Ready to layer up. Tony here is your theory. Oh, johnny. Oh. I'm very happy that I had the bamboo pants. That's my right. And this is going to be great because we're having a little bit of a warm up here in the mid Atlantic mornings. You're ready to go at that vest. And before you go forward. I have a quick announcement about your Email. Yeah, we had a lot of correct guesses. What what happened was when you did the automatic update. You had to resupply your pass code for your AOL Email account, which of course, you had lost. Of course. So you had been supplying the wrong pass code. But it had looked if anyone were to go into your settings. It looked like the Email password was already loaded. So, but that's why wasn't loading for five days. I was on the phone during Friday show with Ayla customer service. They were very helpful a little A bit. little bit surprise. Clearly, I was able to describe the problem and we got to a solution. So we have a new passcode for you. I'm not gonna have anyone guessed the number. Okay. One one one now have access to Email. That's great. Do I already have that are just have it? Now you've had tire weekend. Yes, I've had it. So that's that's I'm happy about that. I did get an offer George Mitchell. Vich sent me a note saying that his son Tim works on IT stuff in the in the Senate and would help me with one pro Bono. Resetting shuli. But I don't need announce that in your back pocket. You have some news. Let's do the news. Yes. I do need Missa Tony for so I just want to say, thanks to Frank. Karen's husband. He was in fact, the dinosaur with the leaf blowers that was. Thank you. Actual. I will tweet out a picture. You're in the two one five swing by their house for trick or treating it as a. It's the best football, Mr Tony. Yeah. We haven't done the football big. Well, we in the game. I'm not sure if it was on your radar shoot have been on Saturday Georgetown came into this game. Colgate just blistering hot. I'm going to tell you. I don't know the score. But I'm going to bet on Kobe because they're a football school. Well, you're an expert in sports media because Colgate wins thirty eight nil. We did not cross the fifty okay? I think that that's right. The entire field. Yeah. So. Probably why we didn't win. Yeah. Okay. That's nice notes about that. Not a very supportive. About twenty. Football. Into the game to the NFL. Big. Well, we should say. Nice win for the Redskins. Wasn't exactly a great terrific win for the my my feeling about that game is very very simple. Had they lost that game to a terrible team. The giants terrible. They lost that game. We cannot even talk about them for the rest of time this year. But now people will say, hey, you wanna fire up the bandwagon? No, no touchdowns. There. Easy, schedule defense looks legit. They haven't incredibly easy schedule going through the only really the game that really sets up a hard game seems to be at Philly because Philly at least one yesterday in in London..
