A is robert johnson guitar. It probably won't ever be found is guitar of utah to musicians like your clapton. p towns and just the great greatest guitar staffer. You know robert johnson. You're just developed a style of play that influence people today at and Is is probably the most iconic musician that of combines all forms of music so i'd love to find it but i don't think we will but that's why it's the holy grail but you by elton john's stein way do you play it or just look at it. Then one is is very much of a playable incredible stein way. I have john lennon's piano and it was in his flat in his house. For many many years he wrote sergeant pepper's on it. You put a plaque on it. On the side listed some of the songs he wrote on it and quietly somehow i secured in a sale except that when it came it was never taken care very much since down passed away forty years ago so so it doesn't really play other some dead keys on a so. The debate goes on with things like that. Do you fix it or do you leave as he left it. What do you remember about that day. "Preachy, MLK preach and borrow you. Could you could do you can chime into any time A great track still holds up doesn't seem like that's one of those tunes doesn't sound dated to me just it's still kind of sounds fresh. I don't know if you feel that way, but to me that tune is never really aged now you're right. And would you have to say all time you to power Rank number one or now you're getting into. Well, see, now that's gonna take some time. I don't know if you want to get into that right off the track. Don't get me going on that on their catalog. Dude, I'll be here all day taking off the Tom Brady track, man. Pull something out. I'll shock you. I'll come out here and say like I threw a brick through a window. Go. That's off October. Holy cow. Yeah, that would be your number one track of all time. No, no, no, no. I'm just breaking balls. I'm just saying, like if you put me on an assignment like that, I could come back up to the surface with an obscurity. Yeah, Way diagram. Thank you. Spiders. More Brady stats coming at you here. So by starting in Sunday's game, he will now start in conference championships in three different decades. The 00 Oh's the tens and twenties. Only one other quarterback has ever done that. Johnny United Run up on me again, Murph. Sorry. Say that again. This status. It's a little bit funky, because it's like it has to do with sort of just if you came in late nineties. Yeah, well, he will now start conference championships in three different decades. Yeah, that's pretty close. The tens in the 23. Only other guy do that. Johnny United stated that Because he did start a conference championship game in the seventies. Right? Believe it or not, how crazy is it to that Johnny sixties and seventies? Do you happen to know when did he start his career? Unite us? I'm going to say mid to late fifties, and I'll get you the exact mid to late fifties. So you know what's always kind of Kind of surprised me is that you know, as highly regarded as United's was, it's interesting to note that when the Jets beat the Colts and Super Bowl three United didn't even start that game. They brought him in off the bench like later on which is crazy. I didn't even like so I guess at that point, his career he had just been kind of relegated to a backup. He started in 56. Then in 1970. He was a quarterback of the 10, 2 and one he went 10 to and one as a 37 year old. He play until he was 40 years. He actually played with the You know the team. He's with Polly, right? Uh, more random than this buddy Charger is yes. The San Diego Chargers. Yeah, because you think of him is like a guy from the black and white era. You know, I can't imagine him hanging out down at Mission Beach Any other fifties. He had the fifties haircut. The brush cut? Yeah. I can't see him hanging out with some kid wearing a vans T shirt skating by him A Pacific beat no more like the Jimi Hendrix moccasins and tassels hanging off the jacket. You know, incongruous to yes. And Johnny you in San Diego and 1973 Sly Stone comes walking. Up to Johnny Night is making me give you a ride home. Yeah, And in this in sly Stone's and vibrant color, and John Black and white, he's actually colored. Yeah, white standing there next to him with his black high tops, man. But anyway, that's one comp one of the many. And how about this? By the way for our camp? You're listenership. How about the NFC Championship being San Matteo versus Chico? Holloway. Cool. These two absolute legends are ours there. In our KNBR listeners shout out to the leader Shall That's how about three? And don't forget about Josh Allen being a California question, but he's 24, so he's gotta earn it a little bit. So here's the ages. Going in Brady 43 Rogers 37. That's on the NFC side. On the A F C side. It's Mahomes 25 versus Allen 24. So you're missing a little generation gap here. I'm assuming the homes Congar. Oh, I hope he can go. I don't know. You see, he did tweet last night. The Cleveland linebacker tackled him. His name is Mak Wilson. I think said, You know, I hope Patrick Mom's okay. You know, you know, sending good wishes and my home's retweeted it and said all good brother with an ex clams. Well, he's trying to make sure everybody knows he's okay. And I was funny because I heard that Andy Reid kind of putting that information out there after the game Tuesday. Oh, no, My home is great. He's very attentive. He's already trying to lay down the foundation. That will be good to go. But you can't as you know, do we? We lived through it with Steve Young when he had way too many at the end of his career. It's very unsettling for everybody around the player. Forget about the player himself who's living with it. It's like you really get worried so You just can't play around with head injuries. You're gonna have to wait and see how he responds this week. No question. These things changed by the day as we've learned. You know what I mean? You could feel one way on a Monday in a different way in a Tuesday, Who was it that I forget. So forgive me, But there was a local athlete. It could have been. I don't remember. Well, so you think enough? Yes. The delayed reaction. It was Brandon Belt or No. Was Joe Panik. I think it was Joe Panic, Panic Panic. I drilled in the head. Finished the game and then played another game. I think and then, like, three days later started, Williamson was that who was okay? Williamson when he took the header on the bullpen mound that finish the game and didn't did you home early? Might have hit upon. You might get a bomb. Then, like, two days later, he was married. Got completely whacked by and I couldn't shake it for months getting his career. Yeah, Yeah, man. No. And based on the way, Mahomes looked on the field like that. That was scary. He had no clue. Where he was or what he was doing..

"It's a good line set it like I said there's a lot of guys you know when you're left on there contracts so the situation when years ago we'll see what happens Boston Herald radio we are the rundown Johnson Tom Brady from talking about his contract extension two years seventy million dollars eight of the seventy million dollars tacked on to this year's salary earn twenty three million dollars this year but the final two years of that deal can be voided the patriots cannot franchise tag him so he could be a free agent at the end of the year and possibly play with another team and then when you hear of what happened yesterday that Tom Brady and Giselle Bundchen put their mention in Brookline on the market asking price thirty nine and a half million dollars it gets you to think is this gonna be Tom Brady's last year that he plays one more year with the patriots and retires or does he move on in play with another team as a free agent at the age of forty three get your head spinning when you list those comments jet from Brady he did not sound all that thrilled with the new deal it seem like I did it I'm here let's get this year out of the way and then we'll deal with it in the off season that this was not like a a celebration by Tom Brady done no but when is it ever sounded like that the new contract old contract I can't recall a time where Tom Brady's talked about his contract and seemed like he was all you know thrilled about the the the terms of it I just think he doesn't like to discuss it but I also think that this is the first time that we don't know what the situation is going to be next year so it's one year again the other two years can be voided and he can become a free agent because there's no franchise tag that's never happened before so that's a new place to be for Tom Brady and the patriots and I've always felt that Brady could play elsewhere at the end of his career because it's happened in the past in the NFL Johnny United played one year with the Chargers you had Joe Montana two years with the chiefs you had Joe Namath one year with the rams Joe Montana two years with the chief as I said I also Peyton manning left Indianapolis and went to Denver and of course Brett farb went from Green Bay to the jets to Minnesota the difference with those five organizations at that time they already had a succession plan the colts drafted Brett Jones with the second overall pick in seventy three so they moved on from Johnny United they were complete rebuild the jets to draft the Richard taught in the first round in seventy six they were already into a complete rebuild and they moved John name into the Ramsey played one year with them not successful then he retired Montana his last two years in San Francisco is actually didn't play they had Steve young so they could move on from Joe Montana and they continue to contend we saw Indianapolis of course with Peyton manning the tank in twenty eleven they got the first pick in the draft get you into a locker so they rebuilt through and lock in a course Green Bay already had Erin Rogers in the fold for three years all those teams had someone in place I don't think charts datum is that guy in place so that's kind of concerning right if you're a patriots fan is like what happens in twenty twenty yeah I I get I get what you're saying that it it is concerning if you are under the assumption Brady's gonna leave but I I just don't think he's going anywhere I I looked at I look at the you think that are you do you hope that no I think that I really think that I think that they're going to do similar to what the red Sox get almost with David Ortiz and take this as a one year at a time situation and say you know how do you play this year what's your injury status I and and and renegotiate the contract that way I know they can't franchise him next year but if you look at what the franchise number would have been for Tom Brady but a lot of years he's been a leak plus taking the the top five people started to million dollar and absurd amount of money right which is actually what he signed for two year seventy million dollars extension technically he's sign next year for thirty million and then the following year for thirty two million but again it was probably will be voided and they can renegotiate or Brady can just say see ya talk some other place just because they they took the franchising option off the table that doesn't indicate to me anything because I never believed that they were going to franchise Tom Brady regardless of what happens I think he's gonna end up being on the patriots the rest of his his career for a few reasons one being that he cares about winning more than anything is patriots team is built to win now and if you look at the rest of the team throughout the league where is he really gonna go to give him as good a chance as well at winning that also doesn't have a young quarterback that they want to continue to develop why look at some of the franchises that he could fit right I mean look everybody would love to have Tom Brady but there's you know Kansas city's not gonna be interested they have a franchise quarterback and Patrick brain are gonna take a year of developing a good young quarterback to tell Tom Brady and if you think that Tom Brady has three years left if your franchise that's never had any traction in in our lifetime and say well he could kind of put us over the top we've got a good roster we bring in a superstar quarterback I mean look Denver was an eight eighteen they added Peyton manning they went to the Superbowl the very next year with Peyton manning and they want to two years later so you can kind of look in and see that these quarterbacks can put these teams over the top just think about the the value that they bring the first thing that came to mind for me was the Tennessee Titans get the connection with head coach Mike Rabal and general manager John Robinson Robinson has patriot ties as well very able course won three super bowls with Brady here in New England you've got former patriots they're knocking Butler Logan Ryan Dionne Lewis and they were really solid roster that's a division that he's toyed with over the years I mean just doesn't lose very often to the AFC south last year you did to Jacksonville but for the most part he's owned that division that could be a place where look they probably have as good a rosters the patriots have top to bottom I mean their offensive line is very talented they've got a lot of you know defense of talent out they don't have the necessarily the offense of weapons but the patriots don't have a ton offense and weapons either it's not like you know yeah with great confidence your reasons that I I don't think it'll work one that would mean he'd have to relocate to Tennessee for a year or two years I I just don't see him doing that relocate somewhere if he I don't know I just don't think it's going okay selling his house in Brookline so he's looking right now or that's what we're hearing is that they're gonna looking Connecticut New Jersey New York the tri state area I don't think he's going to the jets and the giants now or the eagles so where does he go in again you know he can he can move into a place for a year to three years if he wants to play until he's forty five and then they build their mansion wherever and then they probably turn around and sell it he's done this before you built a beautiful mansion in LA and then sold it to doctors right never lived in it I'm sure is in a make a tidy profit once he sells this home in Brookline I think that's something that kind of interest him business why and also keep in mind with Tennessee at a you guys make fun of my love of Marcus Mariota but this is a big year for him say if he has a break out year which he I I think he's capable of we still youngest quarterback how good would he have to be for them to say you know what we're also make Marcus Mariota look at Tom Brady making the playoffs two years ago in the patriots beat him thirty five I just don't think I'm ready I'm liable option for them he's I would take Tom Brady for the next three years over market I don't think Tom Brady's going to want to go there get also Dion Lewis a guy who ripped the patriots and was sort of ripping a little bit not not necessarily Tom Brady but the the way the patriots have done things I don't know that Brady is in good standing with the US in late standing with Malcolm Butler he is okay Sir is Malcolm Butler draw to go I'm saying is is that Brady may look at this and say you know what I want to prove to everybody that it's me more than it is Bella check we we know that we have this endless debate like who's who gets more credit bell checked Brady I am in a fifty five forty five for Brady simply because we've never seen Brady without Bella check but we've never seen Brady lose it all we sing telecheck lose without Brady at four losing seasons in Cleveland its first year they won five eleven so I'm gonna look at say that the quarterback means a little bit more than the coach and yes the coach is brilliant but I think the Brady being such a a team guy over the last two decades allows Bella check to coach the way he does he can yell at Brady and if you're on that team you say damn he's yelling at Tom Brady then he can yell at me and it's no different than Tim Duncan with the San Antonio Spurs except for a sap with the senators burst conduct playing both sides of the ball is playing on offense and he's playing a different show Ortiz no effect over the fence and that's about the state doesn't have an effect on the defense the ability that that team can control the ball score points don't turn the ball over that that does help the defense okay it does but I take down he's not okay how is the defense for about a nine year wasn't great but I was in this past Superbowl it was very good so I was against Kansas city I mean could play this game can I just think that's a that's a large at ten percent chasms a large percent for you say fifty five forty five I I I don't okay fifty three forty seven I don't I think it's it's a lot closer to fifty fifty at all on that on that note sat that's no fun jet noting life I on that note if Brady goes to Tennessee or whatever and socks sure that's an issue so that kills his house but I mean that the did leave it at forty three forty you know for its its still heart rate is over he's a great score back in the Super Bowl era look Joe name its legacy didn't get time is going to the rams Johnny night this is didn't get trying to going to the charges Brett farb of anything could've been the MVP of the NFL in two thousand nine with the Vikings hi I think Peyton manning went to another team and one another Superbowl and went to two of them with Denver that's pretty good and and Joe Montana I think his legacy was the same.

"There's a lot of people that believe mulkey Wilson would have would have reached for safely, whether Buckner fielded or not, you know, whether he caught that ball or not mulkey Wilson was very fast runner and Ray Knight was the guy who scored were turned out to be the winning run in that game where they were champagne already in the Red Sox locker room because they were up. They were up three games to to go into that game six and they were and they were up in the game in that lasting already to celebrate. And then Ray night, scored the winning run, and they went onto win and people forget that was game six there was that the Red Sox led. At shea. Yeah. The Red Sox leading game seven and blue that game. They did. He was he was. He was a great header. I think he has almost three hundred batting average in his career, just short of three thousand hits, and he deserved better. It'd be known for that, once snafu Bart star. If you can be underrated with five NFL championships to your credit, Bart Starr's on no doubt a he still has the highest completion percentage of history playoff history. That's pretty remarkable. I didn't I don't remember Bart start. I didn't get a chance to see Bart Starr play. I've always had this feeling though from reading about Bart star that the team around him was as good as any team in NFL history around a quarterback in that he was really truly the first of the winning game manager style quarterbacks. I think that's a bit unfair. It is. Yeah. I think it look, Johnny night is was always thought the greatest quarterback of all time may be until Tom Brady came along. Johnny night has had hall of famers all around him to okay. Arguably more weapons offensively then Bart started. So what made Bart star? Are so great. I don't know. It's hard to say I mean, in a way he was he was a lot like Lombardi, he demanded a lot of himself he was unflappable in, in terms of pressure. He was remarkably tough in the ice bowl where they played Dallas and the NFL title game seven NFL champion. He does the quarterback sneak behind Jerry Kramer over Jeff drope you'd win the game. Bart?.

"A twice was a wins leader nine and twenty ten and a nice guy who right and Larry last night, they cut to the baseball network cuts to his family who've been going around with him and his wife. Nice. Nice young lady goes. Yeah. We've taken the kids out of school to follow dead around and it paid off last night. So good for him. Just to do these things to real quick just to show the support a young people. John Santa Rosa, real quick can be are your thoughts. Yeah. I have two real quick ones berry bonds. I think as a pinch hitter would probably have more home runs than anybody on our team and would be very successful. And then I have a quick story if you'd have more home runs than Brandon belt Barry Bonds, right now if four oh, yeah, I'll give you the guys on the bench. But the starters are getting more swings. He's pinch hitting once again. Johnny. What's your story? Gary's big fan of the bearded lady as well. Oh, that's unbelievable. I just I love a parade. John what what is your story about? So my my my son, I'm hold my son. And as a matter of fact, I've brand fell hits a home run. I throw my hands up yellow come. And so does he about a week later? You come into the room. The Yankees are playing the giants. He looks at me. Let's the baseball throws up his arm. Yells gone, very not fit with the transplant. Wow. Very cute. And how old's your son? Two years old. Well, you get him indoctrinated into the grand old game. We need fresh blood, John. Yes. Yes, we do. And I'm I'm doing everything. I can. Thank you. My brother, Scott, and San Jose quick, you're Cambier. Hey, look, real quick dairy on the punter pick. I think the picks great because anybody knows football and no Shanahan's offense. If you're a management guy, you know that he he's going to have a lot of possessions on the. It sounded like if you know the offense are going to be putting a lot is what. Definitely anytime you're going to do a lot of possessions. You need to flip the field and Lynch the defensive guy, and he knows how important it is. If you flip the field, and you get the defense, and he knows what he's doing there. All right. You take Ray guide right now too. I remember you're year old guy guaranteeing. He's guy was the number one pick before Larry was born we appreciated the punny. Well, it matters. Anybody knows football knows those matters. I let you on because not let you on like you doing your favorite. You're going to say something about bonds. Yeah. Here. Here's the deal on bond bonds without a doubt with light up these pictures that are pitching that are pitching in this day and age that but he should go to American League game and be a D H. Yeah. But you don't need to be on his serious. It only carries value here with the giants. Well, no, no. If the giants brought him in and he performed he would be bay to an American League team. They won't bring him early. Maybe the maybe what do you think of this? They don't the warriors probably could get Rick Perry. And then throw them at the end of the bench. When you have the lead just let them let them handle the ball and get fouled. And then he would go to the line. Imagine the amount of people that would watch to see a guy in his fifties. Throw underhanded free throws in the final Salvi win that be wouldn't that be spectacularly? Well. Okay. Unbelievable Rix, it is seventies berry. Go have to say it again. This is his home. These are friends. You know, what the Niners divan Tura can't deactivate CJ Beathard and then on game days on on the goal line get Montana out there to roll right and throw an accurate pass to a receiver. I why not can I say something about the late. Great, Gino Marchetti, that's up lifting this guy. I've just reading an article on him. He's from Anne ox. So I always say Jeremy Newbury's the greatest player from Antioch chino, Marquette who passed away from the Baltimore Colts. From Baltimore Colts fame, real quick. I and this is up lifting, but he's talking to talk. About the owner of the colts brought him in. I didn't know any of this stuff while he was placed why don't you do something with your life, and he went out and and purchased a bowling alley where Johnny night is, you know, sad to say, but Johnny United ended up bankrupt. The big star the colts this guy little by little piece together gino's fast food place. He actually worked it make a long story short he sold. It went expanded to four hundred outlets, and he ended up selling it to Marriott for millions upon millions and the pride of Antioch passed away yesterday at the age of ninety two, but Gino Marquette, he was an incredible credible guy. In fact, he was a veteran of the battle of the bulge against the Nazis. Wow. Yeah. Very full life USF who's on that team owner Bob Saint Clair and Burl Toler who's or relatively. Friend of my father's USF. You he was on the end of feet team in nineteen fifty one. Baltimore Colts eleven time. Pro bore nine time all pro and a pro football hall of Famer, and and he died at the age of ninety three. That's that's a good life born in nineteen twenty seven the great chino Marquette. And I always love that's that the other day. At seventy eight percent. In fact, even brought my wife over I said might not reading this, right? Seventy eight percent of all NFL players within two years are either on financial hard times or bankrupt. By the way, you're listening to Gary and Larry on Camby San Francisco KFC HD two San Mateo, these sports leader seventy eight percent tie. That's I mean, that's just a that's just you know. And it's obvious you buy gigantic house, and you, you know, you're spending money and then it stops cold. But seventy eight percent, anyway, you got a story here that that's of interest of the forty Niners signing a bunch of guys. In fact, Friday, I don't know if I told you this. I'm going to be doing the show Friday from Santa Clara because the Niners rookie minicamp is going on. And saw they're gonna hit the practice field Friday at one. So I will be hitting the practice field because I had thought maybe you do the show here. I'll go down and look at minicamp come on you. Join me join me minicamp, in fact. Practice starts at one right after the show we can get out there. And you know, have a good time. Why did you tell me what I'm looking at will? Yeah. You'll be watching one of the guys she'll be watching is the guy. I wanted to mention Z's Al Shire who's an inside back. Replayed for Florida international the owls, and he was the number one tackler in the history of that program. FAU's number one tackler in the history of of FAU's program and the Niners signing as an undrafted free agent. He's he had one hundred forty six tackles as junior year, which was, you know, lead the lead the team, and then tours ACL and MC L workout in October. And so he didn't play this year. But this guy story is unbelievable. I mean, he's just been fueled by this fire to provide for his family. I don't know if you've heard the story, but his his his house in when he was in high school burned down are actually say not in high school twenty twelve so I guess probably high school, and it was it was just a kitchen grease fire. His sister. I believe I was cooking. Something and left it in the kitchen and the house caught fire and Z's saved his his his brothers and sisters from this fire, and sadly and tragically lost all of his possessions for a short time his family was homeless in the in the Tampa, Florida area. They wind up living out of a motel for awhile, which was like two hours from his school. Anyway, it's it's a it's a story of whoa. Until this guy, James mcquaid. You know, who was basically his youth football coach became this kid's mentor, and he stepped any help the family financially in this kid, obviously blossomed on the grid. Iron and earned a scholarship to FAU became the youngest team, captain as a sophomore. And if you watch the film, I mean, he's a monster hitter. And a hell of a football player four hundred tackles in the last three and a half seasons for this kid the Niner connection. I mean, obviously a high character guys two-time time team captain at FAU the connection to the Niners. Is that Chris kiffin who's the Niner pass rush? Coach is a former defensive coordinator. Monte kiffin kid. Yeah. Yeah, brother. Yeah. Lanes brothers. So Chris kiffin is with the Niners and they're going to bring this kid in. And you know, he's six feet about two thirty, but he's rangy and fast in instinctive and productive and he hits like a truck and was a great great productive football player and fast. So hopefully, he rehabs in the end the MCI on one injury is a tough thing to come back from. And that's why he went on drafted. But remember that name this summer? I'm going to take a look at them Friday Z's, Al here. We'll see if we can get him on his film is ridiculous. I mean, he just blows people up all over the football field. His numbers are ridiculous. His story though about and you can you hit them on YouTube, and you can actually see local TV crew in Florida did a whole breakdown in the interview disease about the fire, and the whole thing, it was really an incredible tragic story, but you know, somebody sometimes you need. Mentors. Sometimes need the help up in this case this guy, James MacLay, basically stepped in helped a family that was struggling got this kid on on the right path got him eligible got him a scholarship or he got himself a scholarship and now he's on the doorstep of of living his NFL dream sides. It's an awesome story watching him this weekend. All right before we get out of your guy lucky. We got to pick our spots. We can't have every day. But every once in awhile nice to have you on what's up luck. We'll go to Gary Larry all you're doing this afternoon. Yeah. And you know, what I'm talking about? We don't wanna marriage between us, but an affair is always tantalizing. You know? F? I if I, you know, seven, yes. Yeah. Go ahead. Lock lucky what he got. But I'm happy to see the play that the war is doing. I think they're setting theirselves. Up for domination of Houston man in game three and four. What you think? Well, if what we've seen I tell you, you know, obviously, this is no great insight, but Houston if they don't win Saturday night. That's that's it. And it all depends. If if hardened doesn't have any lingering effects from that rake over his is maybe Houston's got shot, but they're doing the Williams. Renault beat them for out of five the warriors. The warriors are doing two things right now that are really screwing with Houston one instead of switching everything on hardened their let Negga dollar handle is business one on one. And I and I think.

"By town. Fanti? Nobody beats town fair tire. Nobody Dan poughkeepsie. What's up then? My call Mike just how do you feel about the Yankee lineup? You have any problem with it? What are you talking about the plane out right now? Well, of course, it's a ton of problems with Sony. Anybody did a lot of guys on the lineup. What are you gonna do about it? Well, my question is I like see? Batting second. I would love to see chorus or Frazier about second about that. I I don't think it matters because they're a hot and on base. Even doesn't matter. That that doesn't bother me. I judge that second on the same. I five. No, I don't think view. You. I don't think it's a big deal now because the guy yet you have there that you're gonna put in front of them might just go in you know, right essentially put him in my goal for twenty. How many because that's how baseball is. If you keep juggling the lineup around judge likes the bat to they like the Batum too. So he sits in the lineup. That's where spot is. Okay. That's the way it is. That's the problem is they have automatic outs in the last four or five spots in the lineup. That's the problem with the lineup it, right? But I think a lot of personal tours young man that spot, you know, what I need to our as fine. I think the the bottom line is they have too many outs in the bottom of the lineup right now. Those guys don't hit, you know. They've just not good players. It's really, you know, there's really just the that. This is simply just not very good players, Iran, Staten Island. What's up? I what's trying to get you my phone died at but he was so about the injuries, and I've been thinking of years, and I couldn't agree with you more. These guys at your still to why the train too hard. And that's why you guys can fall. I listen. I I don't I don't know if anybody has a better idea. I'm sure there's a lot of people have studied at nobody knows. Why so many players get hurt now? But they do get hurt a lot. Yeah. It's ridiculous. And it's a quarterback. You're right. Nobody knows like you said into these guys or any game in the NFL in fourth quarter. I can see what the made. And you know, you know, bring up Donald it's still a work in progress. But you could see nothing fluffy to kid and just go back to the first day is first fictional pass was a pick six and he came back and get involved me ship. It right off. And that's what you have to get when Vicky quarterbacks and get don't not get into your camp. It was Sam wife who talked Bill Washington draft and Joe Montana. And the reason they found Joe Montana was they needed a guy to throw passes to a wide receiver that they wanted to draft out of UCLA, and they Sam Weiss new Montana, and we was on the west coast, and he brought them out there. And he sat there fascinated watching Montana photo passes by the end of the by the end of the practice he called. And he said you have to come watch this this quarterback he came and he said. I agree. And he said, please just watch him with me and go back over as videos and everything else. And they came within one second of not drafting one affected, and it was Sam white because he was throwing balls to Owens NFL d- where they decided that Joe Montana was on their radar. Otherwise, Joe Montana was not even on Bill Walsh's radar. To show you how life changes thick raven a guy who's dead had to convince the pats fifty two times that they should look at this Tom Brady, Tom Brady was a guy who got beat out of senior year at Michigan and had one of the worst bodies of anybody that ever seen that anyone who looked at the quarterback position in Michigan? He was like a scrawny chicken. Okay. And they couldn't convince even get guys even agree that he was someone. They liked it all on. He just kept pounding and pounding and pounding to get people to notice this guy. And finally got him the draft them all the way on the sixth round. Those are two of the three arguably maybe the two is not two of the three greatest quarterbacks ever lived. One on the third round one on the sixth round Johnny night is was cut by the Steelers. He might be the third. Yeah. There's a quarterback like Locke who you pick first grade or manning who you pick. I is great or Bradshaw or Aikman. Yeah. Elway there's going to be guys like that. But there's also going to be these other ones who know one ever even thought of who become all time greats because you can't measure what's inside them the hot ahead, solely and hold show. What's up selling? Hey, mike. Sorry. The phone job. Yes. What's up? Mullen. I my college all time favorite players Mullen. And nobody second third of what when I say this I say that. Painfully. He dropped the ball this year because he had all the talent in the world with these guys six five and under any tried playing run DMC thing all he had to do recruit. One caveman one guy to to fight off the the providence and the other guy the five five games to Creighton providence and somebody else to pull that would have been the difference. And they got pushed around on the board so badly every time they played a game with a guy that was sick they stick. But it was. But but listen, he was a great player. He just wasn't a coach not. Everybody's a coach's player. Mullin was a great player. Great player. One of the greatest shooters of all time an instinctive player an incredible incredible shooter. It wasn't a coach knock on that. He wasn't a coach. Anthony and Long Island. What's up Anthony? Yeah. My question for you. How much at Saint John's carnesecca still involved, you know, what I'm not vast? So it's impossible for me to answer you'd have to ask someone who's there? I really I have no way of answering that I have not been around the school in a very long time. So I really couldn't say. Really? Are you really I can't answer that? I really can't reason why because I eat so much of a parallel with ST John's in Georgetown where ever since those guys are gone. They've got they've had bats of greatness. But never really seem to be able to get out of the way of shadow of Thompson and carnesecca where nobody's happier than me. The Patrick you got a job. He deserved it. But they might as well John Thompson the fourth over there and here at Saint John's you have Chris Mullin coaching the Team New clues not getting hired. Here's the worst thing. He did was transfer out of Karnataka's program. It just seems that that that would explain a lot of dysfunction if you have one guy there was there too long. It's still running. Fair point. But I I can't I can't answer the question for you. I just don't know Kristen Baldwin what's up Chris. Mike what's going on? I think hiring for John's isn't as bad as it seemed that I know they botched it in the beginning. But I think the guy on he's never had a losing season knowing. As I mean, you talk about his age. I mean, I mean clueless with over fifty nine years all easy, eat older. Well, Ma no question, but he disguise changing his whole life. This guy's never been anywhere near New York. A close in the author. He's lived here all his life. There's a there's no there's no clues. When I hit the ground running the first day there's going to be a learning curve for this guy. This guy's never. He's never been in New York. He hasn't is a deep south coach is no idea about new oak. Yeah. That's true. I gotta be some optimism though. After how bad day Bosch early on. Listen, I like I said when I opened a show you can make some positive points for Mike Anderson. He's coach seventeen years. He's been a guy who's never had a losing season. He's had some good teams. He was part of a very big program when Nolan Richardson was winning big at all console, and he was the assistant. So very true. There's some positives to them. There's a lot of negatives though, him coming to New York is a very very big change in his life as it's like, it's a whole different world of vascular ball, number two. They are not a D program, and he needs he needs the he needs deep teams. His team is team that has to be very athletic very deep to play system. They can you know, you need ten players, and you need depth. The Saint John's has not had that in a long time. Allies in Bridgeport. What's going on Elijah, Mike how you doing happy? What's happening? Hey, I heard Greg Anthony say last night, I've heard at least dozen times this year that people think James harden it the greatest offense player ever, which rather take him or Katie. I tell you right now, I think those compliments about and on early mindless, mindless, he led him. Let him he has never played well in the playoffs. No less dominated in the playoffs. Say these the best offensive player ever is just to me. It's early early ridiculous. So far pass ridiculous worth commenting on Pete Westchester. What's up Pete? Yeah. I do not happy shit. You. Thank you. What's happened? Back. But. Oh tiger. Tiger is back. Yes. What does that mean? What does that mean? What I'm trying to say is do you think he will now dominate like he used to or the competition is so steeped up that will never dominate what he used to. But he'll be competitive and maybe pull out one or two more dangerous. What do you think? Like, I don't think he'll ever dominate again. I think is a couple of reasons one he's forty three with a bad back for the time has taken its is peace out of them. As back is an issue all the time and the competition the players do not care. You know, they they don't they don't care. They they the kept is an Dustin Johnsons, then not the least bit scattered Tiger Woods who they can out drive by thirty and forty yards every hall. So they they're not worried about them. Now that doesn't mean he can't beat them that doesn't mean he can't win tournaments. The question is to me the question Willie.

"And it's see some so well absolutely agreed though. Let's talk dogs. You both. Our big dog lovers. You have a black footed retriever named up. Lynn who's beautiful, by the way. How would you describe him? He is just my bundle of joy, he my baby hot. And I feel like we have a child with him. He is a lot of work. He's Verda if they call his read the Peter Pan of dogs, and it's so true because w just never grows up, and he's a puppy every day all day. There's a lot of mischief. But he's so lovable loyal you such a good smuggler. Even though he's you know, a hundred pounds. He's in light of our lives. We miss him so much on a honeymoon. We just all we asked where we're videos, and he's he's such a big personality. Oh that is wonderful. I've seen some of the some of your Instagram post things with him are super super sweet the recent one where you're like hugging him. And you know, something it's home now where he's supposed to do. Oh, yes. Really? Really sweet. So you guys you and Johnny are once again going to be correspondents at the national dog show. I from Dublin's perspective because you guys are so close what's the best tip? He's giving you for co corresponding the national dog show. Oh, this is a good one. I mean, Dublin is not shy. And he just owns his personality. He's always sort of. He does this thing which we love his ruse. We call it. Ruing because he's very vocal though. I feel like that would probably tell me just go out there be yourself. So off your personality that would mean numbers of I'm sure that's very sound advice. Good advice. Good for you Dublin. What's like, the one thing that he does that makes you guys heart melt, I know there's more than one. But there one ruing ruining is what we love the ruling what we call it ruin our. Oh, I n g what? So. Talk to you. Oh, my God it melts, our heart. Like every morning, he ruse he is so lovable, and he's always trying to snuggle with you. And when he starts reeling. It's just hilarious. Barking, then turns a bit more annoying. Yeah. I have experience with that. With my four Barker's almost not fun. I know he's he's a big dog. So does he ever get to travel with you guys? He does we use pet safe when we fly him. So that you know, he's flying across the country and make sure that all the cabin in the cargo is completely air climate controlled. And that he's getting water and sued and getting walks, and I feel pretty good with that. And he does travel since I have a home in South Carolina. He'll make that track once a year and to see grandma, and he loves South Carolina. But he he's a pretty good traveler just because he's been doing it so long we started traveling with him when when he was just a puppy. So when he travels it sounds like going to South Carolina, I may already know the answer to this. But how does he role is it luxury hotels fancy towels or nature? Boy. No, he's not too fancy. He just needs a or hottie. He loves to swim school. He loves the slam any plays by himself in the pool. The cutest thing like he'll run in a lot of dogs like wait for the ball. Like he does love to play in the pool, but he will just spend hours dipping his head in. And then shaking his ears and putting his head underwater. And he is hilarious when he gets into water participating in your wedding. He did he did we had this little bit where we sort of said that we couldn't find one of the rings. So he came to save the day, and he had this little glue photon came running down the aisle as they played Elvis's hound dogs. Gave us the rings. Very very sweet very very important part of the ceremony. He did. Yes. Absolutely. You know, you said he wore a bow tie. It was a very very special occasion. Dublin. I know you love fashion. I don't know so much of a fan or no, no, he really isn't. We tried to put a onesie on him during Christmas time. And we went to Montana where it was snowing and we put Nobu on. And he didn't even know how to walk in them with this hilarious. So he really he's he's more free. You just likes to have his own code on natural. Yeah. Natural. We'll answer the most embarrassing fashion moment for Dublin had to be the ones you would really. Exactly his ears are really fluffy. And and they get all these things. So sometimes it becomes out of the four minute drive. Funny. Sort of has these those, oh, you're are very cute. But he's definitely doesn't find that a barrister. He loves it. You know, he's free and comfortable in his personality giving advice like he does the guy's got to be comfortable in its own skin. Exactly. Yeah. I mean, I understand that. He was the subject of a TV segment kind of life of an LA doc, can you tell us, Johnny nights. Yeah. Them all around LA instances where he lived most of the time, and we took him to the Malibu beach. We took him to a favorite place where he gets his own food and water at one of the cafes here because I'll is dog friendly, and we took him to his rumors. So Johnny got a little peek into Dublin's life. And what was this for? It was for peace for NBC for the Beverly Hills dog. So oh, cool. Very very cool. Okay. Let's go back to the national dog show. What was the most exciting part of being a correspondent at that event for you? I think Johnny, and I love it so much just because we're such huge dog lovers when I was younger. I had five dogs at one point. Oh, Johnny is obsessed with his little handsome man, and that is such a huge part of our life to be able to be part of visit events that is celebrating these dogs. We just love, and we get to we usually are just interviewing human. So when we get to interview dogs. That's the best part, absolutely. And in terms of talking to people like the breeders what struck you because breeders in their dogs. They have a very very special relationship and handlers and the dogs that they handle what struck you most about that relationship with their dog. Well, I mean first off I just realized how it'll behaved my my. Dogs. I heard just so well trained, but I always find it. So I tell Johnny this is they win. They're they're talking causal look up at their their owners just with this like look of love, and as if they're listening, you know, waiting for of what they should do next. But you can tell that there's obviously a very special bond that is shared there. And we just love watching it. Wow. Beautiful. Did you get to meet Jia the greyhounds who won best in show last year? We did. I know we get to meet all the winners, which is really fun. Yeah. What we only had a brief moment. I I don't even know if we've got an interview I have to actually go back and ask Johnny. But I I remember meeting her already she's a superstar. You can't get the interview. I mean when you win something like that. It's either talk to my agent. Exactly, did you grow up with dogs and animals. Yes. Oh, we've had a dog in the house. And then when I was training. I wanted more dogs all the time. My mom is like, no, no, no, no. We're traveling resist for that. But somehow I always convinced them that one of the dogs needed at canyon and a friend and at one point five dollars, but we were big dog loving family. Nice. Nice. Really sweet. So you guys are preparing to go to South Korea in a few months. Let's talk some Winter Olympics two thousand eighteen have you ever been to Pyong? I've never I've never been to South Korea, and Johnny just very excited just because you know, four years ago, we were in so cheap that we were working for NBC sports now to be on the network and the and the big primetime seat where we're been working for this for many many years and very excited to start an Olympic season because. Those are always fascinating and filled with drama and a lot of fun for the viewers. So we're ready to cover it. And there's gonna be more talk of not only the sport, which is first and foremost fashion and dishing about life. We can all expect that right? I mean, we always try to bring that. But yes, I in South Korea. I would say that's the main topic will be figure skating and us analyzing every competition. Absolutely. I mean, you guys have worked into a rhythm. Now, you know, you sort of co commentated many events, what do you love most about being in that chair next to where? And how does he make doing this job a real joy for you as my best friend, and I trust them, and that's very hard to come by. And you know, a lot of areas in your life. And especially when it comes to sport like skating, you know, that is that is always difficult, and so to find someone that you truly truly trust and knows what they mean to you. And and he always has my back, and we. We get to work together. So it's beyond fun. And it's one of those connections and bonds that I think can't be created in any other way than just by chance. Like it happened with the both of us. Absolutely. Have you guys talked about what you'd like to do in any off time? You have in Pyong Chang. Have you never been? I mean, we would love we always would love to see the city, but we also know our several that these events and it's pretty locked down with work from morning morning till evening. Sure. Absolutely. So outside of the Winter Olympics coming up, which is huge. What do you have coming up that we should know about? What do I have something? I'm usually in our off season, we get to work on solo projects, and maybe even some things outside of skating. So there's some of those projects I'm working on. I'm part of I'm an executive producer on his show that was recently last year and a reworking that gather we're doing actually a lot in off season. Even though it's not around skating Janis coming next week. Then we're filming something for Korea. And we we keep busy that way. We have a lot of projects we work on. But we're very superstitious always about talking about them. They they come to fruition. Just because you know, sometimes I hear ya. I hear ya. Absolutely do best places for people to follow Utara. And what you're up to. I would say that Instagram Tara Lipinski and on Twitter, Tara Lipinski, and that would probably be it. All right. Well, thank you so much. We're out of time. I really really enjoyed talking with you. And thank you for taking the time out to be with us. Also will absolutely keep arrived peeled.

"He's wanted to go into the rank every day. I've wanted to train I wanted to get better. I wanted to events and I definitely wanted to become an Olympian. That was the biggest dream. I had had. Yeah. And you have to have that passion. Right. And obviously the talent and the support system, and and I wanna talk to you about that for a second. I'm going to get a bit sentimental now. But I watched the video Todd put together for you that was shown at your wedding. And it was so so beautiful Tara and low you're welcome. And as a mother to a grown daughter myself, the part about your relationship with your mom, Pat, especially struck me. She must have been your rock during this time that you know, was more and more exciting, but also tough and training the years of training and competing. Can you talk a bit about how your mom was there for you? And the kind of relationship that you have. Yes, my mom is my best friends. And she's she's always been my rock and always been the person that I go to fix my problems and helped me get through difficult situations and celebrate all of the victories, and and the great moments in life. And I think that you know, that started at a young age, and we created the saunder from being in the, you know, unique sports, and he was the person that gave me the pep talks and supported me and taught me how to work hard. And was there for every fall and was also there when hard work paid off. So that gold medal is is hurt. Oh, it was really beautiful. You know, if anybody listening wants to watch this video, it's so worthwhile to watch and the link to it is in Tara's Instagram account entire you wanna tell them what your Instagram handle is. So people can see it. Yes. It's just my name. Tara Lipinski perfect easy easy. Let's talk Tara, John. Escapades from helping. Yeah, there's lots of them from helping football player. Danny Jones, choose the right bathing suit for Rio, which by the way, was hilarious donning matching outfits for the derby. Which was amazing you and Johnny are definitely the dynamic fashion duo hands down. How would you describe your fashion taste and how they complement each other? And how they differ. I would say that we both love dressing up for you know, our day jobs. We really enjoy matching and sort of putting on a show for the audience. I think our styles different a bit Johnny will wear anything. He has such a strong sense of fashion, and what he loves and what he wants to wear what he sees himself that day. I feel like my fashion sensibility is probably a little bit different. But I think that's the great part of our partnership and the team that we are is that we we have our own personalities, but we're best friends, and we have a lot in common and share a lot with our audience from our sport or from the Kentucky Derby, and we try to take them into what that event is really like and a half fun with it from a very sort of fresh perspective, which you know, I think is what everybody loves so much about you guys. So it's a lot of fun to watch the two of you. I've BFF's Johnny help you choose closed. Do you go shopping together? We don't usually go shopping together unless we're on trips. We do live on the opposite sides of the coast, which is sometimes difficult and challenging, and I miss them very much, and he's on the east coast, and I'm on the west coast. But you know, we're away day in Rio during the Olympics, and we have time we definitely love to go shopping together. And I think I know what he likes and he knows what I like. And. We're good shopping inmates as well. Very cool. So what was the most outrageous outfit you ever wore and for what outrageous outfit? I mean. I don't think I've ever really warrant anything. Outrageous. I feel at the Kentucky Derby, we take it up a notch. Typically, all of my Kentucky, Derby outfits, would be the most outrageous articles of clothing that I've ever worn other than that. I I do sick to sort of my true sense of self and what I would wear if I'm going to an event with friends and make sure that it's appropriate for the event that I'm mad and pretty good with that. I do enjoy that so much, but I don't know if I ever go to crazy that's not easily my style. Johnny. Does it enough for the two of you, right? Exactly, he's. Yeah. He's a star. Let him let you both are. But. He's the one who takes it. All right that he's star of crazy, fun fashion and see some so. Well, absolutely. Agreed. So let's talk dogs. You both our big dog lovers. You have a black footed retriever named Dublin who's beautiful, by the way. How would you describe him? He is just my bundle of joy, he my baby hot. And I feel like we have a child with him. He is a lot of work. He's if they call his read the Peter Pan of dogs, and it's so true because w just never grows up, and he's a puppy every day all day and. A lot of mischief. But he's so lovable loyal you such a good smuggler. Even though he's you know, a hundred pounds. He's the light of our lives. We miss him so much on a honeymoon. We just all we ask for we're videos, and he's such a big personality. Oh that is wonderful. I've seen some of the some of your Instagram post things with him are super super sweet the recent one where you're like hugging him, and you know, something. He's home now where he's supposed to do. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It was really really sweet. So you guys you and Johnny are once again going to be correspondents at the national dog show. I from Dublin's perspective because you guys are so close what's the best tip? He's given you for co corresponding the national dog show. Oh, this is a good one. I mean, Dublin is not shy. And he owns his personality. He's always sort of. He does this thing which we love ruse. We call it ruin because he's very vocal though. I feel like that would probably tell me just go out there be yourself. So off your personality that would need numbers of ice. I'm sure that's very sound advice. Good advice. Good for you Dublin. What's like, the one thing that he does that makes you guys heart melt, I know there's more than one. But there won't ruing ruining is what we love the reeling. What we call it ruin ROI, Angie. What? Talk to you. Oh my God. I didn't know her heart. Like every morning, he ruse he is so lovable, and he's always trying to snuggle with you. And when he starts relaying. It's just hilarious when he starts barking, then turns a bit more annoying. Yeah. I have experience with that. With my four Barker's almost all not fun. I know he's he's a big dog. So does he ever get to travel with you guys? He does we use pet safe when we fly him. So that you know, he's flying across the country and make sure that all the cabinet in the cargo is completely air climate controlled. And that he's getting water and food and getting walks, and we feel pretty good with that. And he does travel since I have a home in South Carolina. He'll make that tracks once a year and to see grandma, and he loves South Carolina. He just needs a or. He loves to swim. Cool. He loved the slam any place, I'm self employed. The cutest thing like he'll run in a lot of dogs like wait for the ball. Like he does love to play fetch in the pool, but he will spend hours dipping his head in. And then shaking his ears and putting his head underwater and is hilarious when he gets into water did end up participating in your wedding. He just likes to have his own coat on natural. Yeah. Natural. We'll answer. The most embarrassing fashion moment for Dublin had to be the ones, really. Right. Exactly his ears are really fluffy. And and they get all these things. So sometimes it becomes out of the four minute drive. Funny. Sort of has these those, oh, you're are very cute. But he definitely doesn't find that. He loves it. You know, he's free and comfortable in his personality giving advice like he does the guy's got to be comfortable in its own skin. Exactly. Yeah. I mean, I understand that. He was the subject of a TV segment kind of life of LA, doc. Can you tell if Johnny nights? Yeah. Johnny, and I m all around LA since where he lived most of the time, and we took them to the Malibu beach. We took him to favorite place where he gets his own food and water at one of the cafes here because I'll is dog friendly, and we took him to his rumors. "Like, you know, crazy leg Johnson was fucking town. Loved him ten teams right Stanley Cup goes about that far back NBA titles. Goes back to the nineteen forties and even the Lakers count, an N B L title, they somehow one and on the N B L. And that was counted as a fucking NBA title was there when they were the Minneapolis Lakers. Their first looking of they want an N B L, and then they won four NBA titles in Minneapolis. And. But they for some reason countdown but Super Bowls. They only started one thousand nine hundred sixty eight and what kills me? Oh, I saw you post about this. Yeah. Is just like so so you're telling me and people are saying because it's I guess because they call it a merger. But it was like the AFL came in. It was like the XFL of the USA fell or the world football league. It was just as other competing football and the NFL laugh on your some fucking piece of shit league. But it was early enough on I guess where they they made up moves and had enough money or whatever and the Stoller they played that they started to compete with them. And then they played in the first two games Super Bowl one and two which were called NFL AFL championship game. And they got the shit kicked out of them because they weren't as good a league. And then then the AFL one in Super Bowl three which was still not called a Super Bowl. It was still the AFL NFL championship. All right. Yeah. So then. After that, they agreed to merge all the owners agreed in the NFL tomorrow with the NFL. Al Davis was the only one he wanted to put the NFL out of business because he was fucking Davis. Which is why you gotta love him. Right. So and then at that point, they just go. All right. So those first three games against the AFL NFL. That's when we're going to start I guess because they called it a merger rather than but I mean like the ABA in a way merged with the end. Yeah. Yeah. And they still count all that shit back to the nineteen hundred as they on the NHL teams early took some teams from the ABA. They didn't take everybody. Okay. But still. It was it was a competing league that was fucking within numbers. And they had a more exciting game just like the AFL. And then in the end, the NBA at euros losing too many players to same way was the NFL some point. It's like can't beat them. Join them, and then they came together, but they still count all those Celtics championships in the sixties. And all so it's like you telling me that Johnny night. John united. I gotta look at him in a certain way or all of the half of those fucking teams the Browns. The Rams the bears the Packers the giants all of those fucking teams were in the NFL plane each other there was it was actually in a way, you could say, you know, I can't say it was more talent than but I'm just saying like, I I don't get why they just white that away. They don't fuck and talk about it at all. And that the Steelers with six fucking 2018 six championships. Yeah. Like, it's so fucking ridiculous. That that the patriots, right? If we win Sunday, which would be next on it, which would be. Awesome. We would be tied for the most championships won in fell history. And we've got our first one fucking seventeen years ago that doesn't that doesn't make your that doesn't make any fucking sets..

Well, I mean first off I just realized how it'll behaved my my. Dogs. I heard just so well trained, but I find it said she'd I told Johnny this is they win. They're they're talking Oslo look up at their their owners just with this like look as if they're listening waiting for of what they should do next. But you can tell that there's obviously a very special bond that is shared there. And we just love watching it. Wow. Beautiful. Did you get to meet Jia the greyhounds who won best in show last year? We did what we. I know we get to meet all the winners, which is really fun. Yeah. What we only had a brief moment. What's like, the one thing that he does that makes you guys heart melt, I know there's more than one. But the one ruing ruining is what we love the reeling. What we call it ruin. Oh, I n g doing. So. You owe my heart. Like every morning, he ruse he is so lovable, and he's always trying to snuggle with you. And when he starts reeling. It's just hilarious. When he starts barking. It turns a bit more annoying. Yeah. I have experience with that. With my four Barker's almost all not fun. I know he's he's a big dog. So does he ever get to travel with you guys? He does we us safe when we fly him. So that you know, he's flying across the country and make sure that all the cabinet in the cargo is completely air climate controlled. And that he's getting water and food and getting walks, and we feel pretty good with that. And he does travel since I have a home in South Carolina. He'll make that track once a year and to see grandma, and he loves South Carolina. But he he's a pretty good traveler just because he's been doing it so long we started traveling with him when when he was just a puppy.
