And i was working at an engraver at the time ryan. Some aback. straight of saint kilda wasn't engraving during that kind of Admin stuff bookkeeping and next to that there was an art gallery. And we'd kinda chassis them of talking outside. Motivate united stuffy. Doing lies exhibitions and there was an exhibition of rock photography and at the open and have a look up to work. This was and this was the next day after. I've been speaking to my main about what i wanted to recall. It went to the exhibition chapter few paypal and ran into this guy. Shine walsh who Unmet him before a couple of years earlier and sort of saint him about town not satan by didn't really know him and we started chatting. You know. I know much about him. Who was drums. Someone else at the studio recommended him and then on. John nolan playing some guitar. And that was shine. And i went to a pub joni band and it was just shredding and so when looking someone to play on seeks fade away. I was one of the songs that we start a pub demonizing johnny nelson. Yeah cycle right. So we asked him and he was off for it and like he's being in all these great bands powder monkeys and things and and then here we go charlie into play to plan that record and a couple of songs as well so it was Politic good fortune. Richard report joins us now. Richard is buzzed going on behind him. Because we have just launched assamese finally finally about time. you've been quizzed a lot. What's happening what's happening. what's happening. It's funny because everybody was asking me what's going on. What have you been offered we go for. I'm like no but really tell you anything right now. Because it's on the routes just waiting anticipation. There's going to be a good announcement pretty soon and finally so good excited now. Knocking release pitches of the behind the scenes. The promo and stuff this. It's fun it's exciting times. Retina always wondered what it's like for pfizer light yourself. It's a serious business books. He's exciting when you have a big announcement like this to make him. Boxing is funny sport that everybody knows everything. So did anybody guess. Because lot people very close to us couldn't they didn't know the fact. We must keep so secretive. It was a big win for us. Did anybody gets a lot of people. Were wondering like what is going on. They didn't have a clue. And speaking to johnny nelson and woodhouse and they said they found out yesterday. Happy anyway. I said what did you for everything just last night. This we to let that just shows you different clause honestly because out been like a bit purpose but yeah nice. Good good good. We'll be working with you against frustrate entirely injury off as well so you announcement back on the first box. Show at wembley arena. Yes so on the undercard and finally getting back back in the mixing it and we wanted dominate this division. You know we've done a number on these in the uk and now we want to push on and aim for fringe world level one and get the tile simple and unify eventually so. We sat down with ben. Shalom did you say be digging anyone out but you will set back during this period and seeing people that you be and push on. Did you sit there and say look. I don't want to go sleigh. i believe i'm good enough to win. How did the conversation go. What would you all roadmap when you sat down with him. I told i told. Ben i want to jump right into and initially. We came up with a new contract. Everything was done. And then record. Ben back and baker. Tell you i said listen. I want to change the opponent. I want this opponent. Which would rent up in an organization straightway better point. Yeah yeah a solid somebody. That's been around the block and unfortunately it was done so we just had to go with this opponent. So it's all good. I don't have a problem with that. But we wanna push straight away because right now. I'm in a prime physically and you know we we've done a number one these guys. These guys are still not looking to great. And i just have that confidence in me. I'll just destroy them honest with not who's in in the gym. I didn't think that you've been in the gym behind closed doors. The pandemic and the toy more has been curse because ring rust. What we've seen people come back real killer at the same time it has given you a chance. Presumably to craft with angel fernandez. Well seem to have a great bond with you. We haven't had a chance for you to show that the ring. It of course so now is the perfect. It's the perfect time october. The second everybody will be able to see and do you have to bear in mind when i came into the game. I'll chuck right to deepen. And i had to just is i well thinking of swimming and to find a way. Let them job. Which i like to say. We love that about you the because actually every single bill that came out was like richardson. A good flight. Here iman not win that fight. That's a fifty fifty. That's a little bit a throwback at you more put into your speaking from a fan. I think that might be one of the reasons people want because it was like why not. Yeah of course because it's boring. Seeing somebody winning somebody that is supposed to win on paper winning all the time i wanna see. Adversity want to see how they overcome situations in the room with me. We sort out from the for the very first match our richard. He's lucky you got for but with the next one next one come a brutal guy out of what is going on. This is crazy. This guy has the power to go all the way. Then come to. You'd be this guy again. Everybody was losing their money. But against everyone say something about your character backwards to the in in france that you were behind in your found a way to win that jodi nelson. I said fine. The white we're that's a great skill to have build everything around that if you that fire within the won't be the noise you can build around that surely absolutely in thing where a lot of people had me not winning. Had the odds were against me. But i think that's probably one of my grace attributes and food. I was no muffles consistent in. Boxing in fight is like if they're behind they're going to push through. I don't understand how. If i could kinda give up mid around and say you know what i'm just kind of just be defeated in mind. Really go for the complete opposite. Have nothing to lose our always. Give everything. I'll go and make sure that i give my opponent help so if you are be meet you have to do something different. Because to be honest. I'm not gonna stop unless. I'm sleeping on a canvas and that's the only the only way to be honest and you have the equalizer. You always have that. In your arsenal won a quitter can get you out of jail. But it also just means you can't miss like you from a brings up on the second of every round because you know it could become in an has common has got you out a bar. Is that one of the things you sat down with angel or he sat down with you and he's expressed like you don't have to rely on that because you've always you've always got it your what i don't want to give too much away but at the same time. What do you think you. Angel building here is it. Is it the box puncher. Is it a bit more slick. Because he has a very sort of hype amato cartoon. That was one of the reasons age. April angel win was your very fluid Very good on lateral movement. A thing is it's a combination of everything to be honest. The good thing is we can check that box. We've got a punch power. We can knock out any fire in the world if we land if we land in place at the right time. So it's all about fine tune in these things being able to box laterally being able to walk back for being able to box forward and been able to just use creativity because this is boring. It's not and we want to show that awful by the same time what. We want to give the fence entertainment. So it's just a mixture mixture of everything. We don't have one sip. Line that okay. We're going to books this type of style book. We're gonna learn everything that we can inbox in so we can give mixture because let's be real like in the ring things. Don't go out you plan. Sometimes they situation where you might find an open opening with..

It seems we respect boxing techniques more worried desperately not to grab on a guy. That's you're you're you're the main supporter of anthony yard. You know what's the difference between anthony yard and the wild wild actually got a world title and a meadow at the olympics. They both started late late. They both started the same back one guy and not the other. I guess because he's blow back about one guy because he's not my little nephew. Exactly that you load yards spence got blood also my my league with twenty five. 'cause he got that that's the reason why i'm gonna back. You mean say a great food dividend. He took the yard was a hard. We're bowling bowl. In like a big thing wimbledon. We went bowling. Tebow's where would there. And he has never met she say look that's spence is. my uncle. Signed your ankle so for that kind of love that we have. Well how you big up. Anthony yard then and not praised wilder big up into new york for having limited limited amateurs skills limited amateur background still getting on the prone to this interview. Should be over. Because you've lost credibility. Make sure you do post this because you've lost your saying to do. That is a one time chattel title challenger and was knocked out is acquitted is equivalent to does it matter if his skills are technically better than while does he hasn't been able to accomplish. What while the accomplish. Not in the end will okay so you you believe in anthony yard but you don't believe in deontay wilder. You're showing your bias. Brother know the proof is in the put in one man already one man. Listen listen one man. Listen but this is what. I'm trying to tell you one man already showed you. Hey guess what spence. I could become a world champion. Guess what spence. I could defend the ten times. Guess what i went to the amateurs limited amateur skills and and the background and i still got a bronze i respect. "Being tweeted out earlier by Dove Kleinman, Who's a NFL reporter, he said, Uh, the Packers made a quote significant long term contract offer. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, according to Ian Rapoport. The two sides, however, are quote. Not in a good place, you know, also added that On the report by Mike Gara follow that Rogers has talked to several players about joining him somewhere else. Me of me, so he's easy's yes, other players that he's going, son. Look, I may do. All of the players have the same power that Aaron Rodgers has. I mean, if Aaron Rodgers again this to me is about is about communication. That's what it comes down to. We can talk about them, not spending enough of their draft currency on getting him or weapons. There was a really good study that went out yesterday or the other last week about where the top Wide receivers come from, And in fact, most good receivers come from the second round. And right, you're not the first draft dividing Adams is a good example. Johnny Nelson wasn't Jordy Nelson. A second or third round pick is well, The thing that I've always asked is like a lot of people go look at all the weapons that they've given Aaron Rodgers. They got him. Jordy Nelson, They gotta Brandel Cobb. They got him Davante Adams. They never spent a first round pick on all these. But my question is Is who is Greg? Go? Who is the other guy? Greg? Other guy where wide receiver a play for free man. Fred Jennings, like another example is Greg Jennings. Greg Jennings is Jordy Nelson. Jordy Nelson is Davante Adams Davante Adams If they don't go and play with Aaron Rodgers, that's a fair question. I think you're a gentleman Julian Andelman. If he doesn't play with Tom Brady, I think their careers they're definitely enhanced by playing with an all time great like Aaron Rodgers was that a feather in the cap for the Packers front office because they get Even those guys resent a feather in the cap for Aaron Rodgers because he took guys who probably would have went elsewhere and could have been Anthony Miller and the Miller was a second round pick Candy Miller's drafted by the Packers. Is he all the sudden? Living up to his expectations and potential point I think what you have to do is share that feather that you speak off again. I think this came down to communication and the lack of communication. Aaron wanted to be more in the loop on some of this stuff again on the outside Looking in if you offer a guy a significant contract extension. That to me is that dictates policy there. He's you're committing to him for a fairly good period of time. Otherwise you put yourself A very difficult spot from a contractor from a cap situation, so like the fact that they offered him a significant contract extension tells you that maybe it's too late. That this is too bad. He doesn't want to mend the fence. Well, so you get out. Wait him. You could. You could just be patient or you could do one of two things. You could just punt and say, Look, he's got a lot of value. We did draft the quarterback because we liked him. It's maybe a little earlier than we would have thought. But We got it. We got to strike down because we could still get a lot for him. Or you could play the hardball that a lot of people said. And and make call his bluff and make him go. What am I get retired? What am I doing? What my offers that? I mean, That's a That's an issue to me getting a good offer. I want Aaron Rodgers back in a green Bay uniformity find the front office. So what's your best be the best chance to win or you think there's a win here if you play hardball, and he doesn't show up to training camp Anyway? I think if he isn't the story if he doesn't show up, or he decides to quote on, quote, retire. He's got to pay back X number of millions of dollars. They're not going to release him to the point where he couldn't have you go take it that far. What? What are you winning? If you're the Packers You know what? You may have your pride. But what? What is that getting you that okay? Aaron Rodgers paid you back. But now You know you don't get anything for my straight. What's the trade trade value? I'm not training for 1/4 round pick. No, no. A couple first round picks now would be a different story. Remember, if you trade him to the Raiders, or you try even den. Denver's roster is Is not as bad as people think. Like I've heard a lot of people say, Well, what is Denver affair in Roger's goes there. They've got a urine Rogers. So they're pretty good. And I was sort of like the Bears with Russell Wilson and your previous question, Right? You're you're a team that competes for sure. So if you traded Aaron Rodgers, you probably getting what picks in the twenties, right? Probably so two first round picks in the twenties and a couple of other random mid ride. Listen, if that's the case, and I can't get this thing rectified, I make the deal, but I'm not trading him. What I'm trying to do. First and foremost, is trying to Who come together with him because he gives me the best chance to win. But if for whatever reason, we've reached a point of irreconcilable differences than you give me an offer like a couple of first rounders in a second, a third. Making the video. This is where you sucker Packer fans who bought stock this fake stock where you lose, like all these years of you guys bragging that..

Tyson Fury looks bulky as he trains for 3rd fight with Wilder
"Very big news. Surfacing sugarhill is the trainer of tyson fury and it seems like he posted a picture of not only tyson fury. But anthony durell guy that you know wasn't questioned during one of the tyson. Fury fights as to being part of that tyson fury team while he's now in a picture. Tyson fury a very bulky. Tyson fury very muscular tyson fury tyson fury came into the rematch with deontay wilder. At two hundred seventy four pounds and he did look a bit solve but that extra weight caused all the problems that we see in that fine. Now he's bulking up that way. Is he gonna move better. Is it going to slow him down. And he's going to get robotic as he likes to question and sees. Aj bad news for a while because he's getting stronger. What we're gonna be talking about the fact that it looks like fury's in can't four that fight. We know johnny nelson adam smith and a few others have been letting the cat out the bag that they feel that. This fight is going to happen. That fury has let it out he will be signing those contracts so looking like wow. The fury threes imminent. Fury's already in training camp in miami. And i'm just saying he looks bulky is hell.

Nevada border six point four yeah that's what I heard yeah that Tahoe your tacos are set up that way it's up in Tahoe where well I'm I'm really good at resolving and I've had a love for your border gotcha yeah Vegas between Vegas and Reno is what they're saying some people in the bay said they felt that I did not I'm a I'm a hard sleeper your light sleeper I don't sleep yeah I I know I I'm actually I actually I don't go walking a lot because I can't hear anything so it's not like shows and earthquakes I I typically sleep right through those but I I do wake up to bring in a new reliever from the bullpen Kerry out of clay yeah and I'm drinking so much water now it seems like it's just a steady stream speaking of bringing relievers out of the bullpen we do want to start by wishing John Nelson a happy eightieth birthday today would have been my dad's ninety fourth birthday so thank you days apart J. just thirteen Thursday nineteen thirteen my mom is the seventeenth your debt falls right between my parents Sean McDonough's birthday is may thirteenth wow yeah but that first and foremost you know well he said he would have been ninety four today and now he's a day so in the I remember talking to Johnny Nelson we had him on early the year the words you're playing the mavs and there's a big celebration plans to go there and you know Donna in may have been in the playoffs series right now but so they're not gonna do that obviously he's with his choice so happy eightieth birthday but speaking of going to the bullpen for relievers I do want to start with an acknowledgement of what's going on with our how who is it tested positive for coke at nineteen he is in the ICU in Houston and there were reports that he was doing better Marty Laurie is very good friends with she is very close start and cat and can mock as well I received a text message last night from Betty arch wife saying is really ill he is extremely weak not eating no sensor tasty set of fever develop Colbert no Monia as blood pressure has been low is breeding is good so so far thank god she goes on to talk about all the well wishers she's receiving an arts receiving and he's just very simply one of the most civil nine human beings enter out of sports I've ever met that was quite an adjustment going from Tony LaRussa not the tone is not a kind caring person but Tony always had his game face on a lot like a football coach managing a baseball team where art was just different he was always like your favorite uncle who's like uncle art and he and I did have an ocular actually so he he J. reminded me of very different people but he just had that carefree easy personality and just so many interactions with large I can recall but we know it's hard was it in which you think he has a chance obviously to battle through this and all it all depends on all kinds of things in you know vitamin D. does help in this battle their sensors in your body that help if you have amber don't help but in art is a big strong tough man physically always in great shape didn't smoke or drink marchers took good care of himself and he was obviously a great baseball player the twenty three game hitting streak with the Astros knows great teams and by the way Bob Watson also passed away by the way Marty is semi attest to it Marty says he's listening and Betty says he's doing better today so thanks to Marty at Marty's gonna drive up on Monday so that's great news but I the one thing up R. did play quarterback in college he played at the university of Wyoming in the late sixties and the one vivid recollection you know away from the game that I recall was art one of the condo in Oakland Raiders practice and he's from Pittsburgh in that area there was a mock up from Pittsburgh in any event you know you just want to come to a writer practice you may arrange it wears a night game it could come and watch your rate or practice and I remember it was pouring raining I mean just a torrential downpour just absolutely a monsoon and art never blank never said a word I could still see a modest cap on you know kind of a raincoat slicker on is set as well and we stood there and watched the entire practice in the beautiful thing was al Davis was glaring across the field wondering who is that guy M. Y. Z. at my practice and I was like that whenever you brought some of the practice that isn't an operator personnel in his mind he given the up and down but what it was all over it we in an art one of them made al Davis our bottom over and one al real initially he gave him a look like what the hell you're doing at my practice and I I wonder if there was a pitch for a connection that was more mock I think other both from Pittsburgh Marty's listening star art also had that saw the still you know al was always leery of the Rooney's spying on his practice or whatever but once ale found out that it was R. Heil and he knew all about I heard how is a player I've it was a huge huge baseball fan and obviously and watch the age being in Oakland you know throughout the years and watching the Asian I think that may have been the time they won twenty in a row and art was just such a a calming presence there but it they I wound up leaving practice because it was all over and it's pouring rain and I'm like I gotta get in a freezer and it's just I'm just soaked and I left the field and there they were still talking our house L. Davis even after you know I'll given the once over once he knew who he was and he shall open up the playbook and size of the player we're gonna run on Sunday I love you so I just had that kind of disarming personality so it's great to get the update from from Marty that Betty is wife says he's doing better today he's too tough he's too tough to give a hand but just wanted to open the show John bye bye having a shot out there to one of the more underrated people one of the most civil people in the history of bay area sports and obviously if you saw Moneyball Philip Seymour Hoffman's portrayal of our how one hundred and eighty degrees and made him out to be a selfish guy trying to get a contract it was never like that for our how it's the one part of the movie that I think was really and it's not it's not meant to be a documentarian you know make it exactly I understand that but there was no reason to make art how should be the character that he was portrayed to be he was not and he still is with us and he's a great great person and when he gets out they will get him on the show but I did wanna open the show by acknowledging the understated and steady our house what I remember was it was funny as you were telling that the story of the real art how as you said we had a mind right after the movie was released you and I and I've never heard art how angry before but art Howe was angry because he was portrayed incorrectly and I understand taking liberties with movies after all it is an entertainment entity and I understand you know we do it too I mean you just you know you gotta make stuff interesting but like you said he was not happy because that's not who he was you know movie and you want to make it clear I remember that day now that I never had this much maybe the angriest person arca well I mean he just he just didn't get angry but to be portrayed like that and Philip Seymour Hoffman is a terrific actor he did blow me off majorly on the set of money for this walk right by me like I didn't exist and maybe felt like I you know he did look good in the uniform it just was one of the roles where he's a great brilliant actor Truman Capote's portrayal that was an Oscar caliber any warranty is just so good but it was just it just didn't fit so but it's only a movie I hope people really do take the time to learn about the real our file but in any event we're thinking art in based on what Marty said we'll be able to bounce back and we'll get him back on the show so good to have a holders big poll today's January the one of the we have debated we got I I I haven't talked to a holder this morning I've been very busy but but I will talk to hold during the I was gonna like five or six of my then we we kind of but we come up we thrown back and forth and he has them and then we and then we ask you because obviously we want your input on this whole thing so we've got a few that we can run past today and so we'll do that we'll tell you about the guest list coming up next coming up today including our coverage of the NBC sports bay area and does a great job with the giants he's got to mention stuff especially on what's going on with Barry Zito so we'll get into that and then we'll break out into a ton of stories including this really strange when two corners and this one could affect the forty Niners because one of the corners is probably the biggest guy the Seahawks grab in the off season and based on this report he is not gonna be available so we did all that stuff on a Friday coming up next month on the R. "Announce. And that's a Bloomberg business flash. Tom and Paul, Karen. Thank you so much greatly appreciate that. With George will the new book, the conservative sensibility as a triumph is written off of graduate, paper of just a few years ago. At Princeton, it is exceptionally thoughtful, I'm going to say, one more time. It is not only the obvious book for conservatives lost in the wilderness is a must read for those lost in the middle of America's politics. And also for liberals and enthusiastic progressives as will George will eliminate go back to the doom and gloom the George Will's associated with Paul. You're gonna love this our listeners in Boston are gonna love this many thoughtful Americans, worry that the Republic peaked a little early and has been trundling downhill since Bunker Hill. How do conservatives George will lose the gloom that it all ended a few years ago? Well, my, my book is in part, explicitly a summons to pessimism. Fatalism but pessimism, my Maine's there are so many ways things can go wrong. The democracy and free markets are not the default position of the human race. They are complex social structures and government structures at the paradox, I notice, but laissez faire a government that requires courts contracts arbitration laws against fraud, right information. Dispersal all the rest. So the simple truth is that this is a complex system. We're trying to defend my book is particularly chapter political economy is, as robust, a defensive capitalism as you'll find this side of Hayek. And high of course figures l'argent they in my in my book. My view is that capitalism does not just make us better off, which manifestly does it makes us better, that the argument between Hamilton and Jefferson argument about what kind of people we would be. I wanna swing the discussion for Georgia pulse when he wants to get into the clear and present with our present president. Let's swing forward folks to my ute. Look, look, there's this particular fringe in their one fundamental problem is they simply never accepted the new deal moynahan of New York, and there's a whole tone in America. That's never gotten over FDR. And that's the reason d'etre of certainly in new Republican party. There's no question that the new deal is an accomplished fact. It's interesting. However, that Ronald Reagan who came of age during the new deal. Never assaulted new deal, institutions, or approaches to government. It was the great society that he had in his sights. The new deals signature achievement with social security, which is something government knows how to do it a dentist is eligible population and males out checks to it. That's fine. When government goes wrong is when it says it's going to deliver a model cities or head starts or meaningful work when it undertakes to minute really regulate us to paradise. Government is a blunt instrument a necessary instrument capable of much good. But blunt nonetheless, Georgia USA prize that the, the Republican party, some of the conservative members of the party haven't may be pushed back on some of the current president, maybe questionable actions actions, that may not be in the conservative than actors such as free free trading surprised we haven't gotten the Republican party's been silent, I guess it's been silent with a few honorable exceptions, Senator Portman of Ohio says, all right? If we're going to pretend that imported Volkswagens or a national security threat, shouldn't we have the defense department rather than the Commerce Department established the criterion for a national security threat, Senator Toomey has been pushing back of Pennsylvania, Republican saying, we have over the years, we have spun off far too much power investing presidents of both parties from congresses of both parties? And with. Enormous discretion that enables them to do essentially legislative things, such as tariffs, which are raising taxes, unilaterally and time, George for only one, more question. John writes in, and says, I really don't care about the conservative sensibility. Please, yes. Mr. will about the baseball, sensibility George will cubby. How do we save baseball where you've got to do something to cure the following two thousand eighteen season? For the first time in history, there were more strikeouts. Thank you. It's the ball is put in play. That is not walk strikeout, her home run. Right. Put in play once every four minutes in a red Smith went said baseball's doll only to the dull. Unfortunately baseball is becoming dull because it becoming one dimensional, we've got find, I think markets work. I think that will be a demand for rod, crews and Wade, Boggs and Tony Gwynn and the. The demand will be met, palled UCLA his voice changes when he gets away Madison. Wilson, I only write about politics to support by baseball habit. Here's what I'm gonna do. I'm in London, I'm gonna put out one of my books of the year. The conservative sensibility in win that writing with George will in the Washington Post, there was a tour to force article a few, oh, five six seven days ago on the strikeout walks ratio, just an absolutely spectacular effort, and we'll get that out is well, George will, of course with the Washington Post and many, many books over the many decades. And I could just simply say that the conservatives sensibility is a tour divorced, your thank you so much you morning. Pulse weenie. We're looking at markets. Mr Draghi is still speaking, that in itself. Paul is unusual. It is. And I think the, you know, the message there, I'm not sure the market was. I think the market one, it's certainly a little bit more Mr.. Draghi put it looks like he's kind of, in lockstep with what we're seeing over here with US Federal Reserve. Johnny Nelson says, thank you for that question. He says, what can't you will more about? Baseball less about politics. We'll get to that as in London in New York, lots going on coming up. We do look at the state of the.

"And when he got here showed no apprehension whatsoever. I think Dirk had a healthy kind of respect for the jump that. He was making from Mayberry Germany, and it took him, you know, the full year and a half to kind of get a sea legs. But once he kicked in you know, he he never looked back. Was there a balanced for coming in make because you talk about the adjustment to the game of basketball? But he's also Justin to life in the US. I mean, how did he balance that in the beginning? Yeah. No. I mean to your point look, you know, we had to teach him where the Bank was how to bounce checkbook, you know, how to get groceries. I mean, it's literally literally or in a brand new culture. And that's where you know, certainly having you know, the city and the community, and you know, the Mavericks and having guys like Finley in Nash back in the day. The kind of teach him the ropes was extremely important. Donnie, Nelson GM president of basketball operations for the Dallas Mavs Spain and fits or Spain and Jason Fitz. So obviously even back at the Nike hoop summit. You saw he could ball put up thirty plus, but how long into his time with the Mavs before you really knew that you had this hall of fame generational player. Well, it was really you're too. I think when you really saw him kind of get confidence and come into his own, you know, year one really for, you know, any rookie, you know. Sands. The superstars is is really one of learning. So yeah, it was really kind of your to where you saw him to start to kind of get that that confidence a swagger. We're talking to Johnny Nelson GM president of basketball operations for the Dallas Mavericks. I'm gonna ask you a really difficult question here. But if you have to look back at the body of work, Dirk is there one particular moment that stands out as your all time favorite. Well, yes, it's it's when he brought a trophy and a parade the Dallas. And it's the first time in history. That's the city that we experienced that. He sang a very very bad rendition of we are the champions. Then. Yeah. That's that was remembered for many many years, you know, I wanna ask you about Dirk the person you've already alluded to it. But there are so many anecdotes about him. How he has an unlikely superstar won a great guy. He is can you tell us about the man off the court may be an anecdote or to that kind of shine a light on who he is outside of basketball. Well, I mean, you you can go no further than our last game. I mean here he is. He just you know, played a full contingent of minutes. And I walk out, you know, my door which happens to overlook the practice court in you know, in the bowels of the American Airlines center, and it's about eleven o'clock at night, and he is down there with attorney ill make a wish kid shooting jump shots and playing horse. I mean, it just shows the kind of part and compassion that he has for kids and certainly kids in need. And you know, really what kind of a humble superstar. He is. You mentioned the word superstar dear Dirk is obviously impacted not only the world. But specifically he's impacted the NBA. How has he changed the NBA? Well, I think you know, really the power forward position. And a lot of respects, you know, prototypical, if it was kind of one of those enforcer positions, I think Burke, injected skill into it not just being able to stretch defenses, you know, but to be able to, you know, put the ball on the ground, and, you know, you know, have the versatility of inside out in a lot of ways he kind of you know, maybe redefine the power for position a different way. But equally as effective as a guy like Kevin Garnett that did it with us lettuces them. And you know, all the things that he brought to the game..

I mean, if if you're gonna have to vote, I mean, what have you place Ford would have been? You know? Smollet which particular hoax, would you want to nominate? Well, one of the ones we cannot nominate apparently is we cannot talk about the Lieutenant governor of Virginia. You're this story. This is phenomenal. The governor of Virginia gun in. Fairfax happened to be black guy and he in front of the assembly both both houses at the same time made a speech yesterday. Where he compared himself to a victim of lynching due to the sexual assault. Allegations is currently facing. You said at the close of the legislative session for the state Senate. And I quote, I've heard much about anti lynching on the floor of this very Senate where people were not given any due process whatsoever. And we rule that and we talked about hundreds at least one hundred terror lynchings that happened in the Commonwealth of Regina under those very same auspices. And yet we stand here in a rush to judgment with nothing. But accusations, and no facts until we decide that we are willing to do the same thing. Two women have come forward to accuse him of sexual assault. My position has been there. Just accusations. And until there's some substantiation of those allegations. He should be allowed the same presumption of innocence that we argued for judge now Justice Cavanaugh until there's actually some substantiation some contemporaneous document that indicates that either of these women talk to a friend. I went to a hospital to get the rape kit anything because that's what the guys accused of. Then they should simply be viewed as well. All right, fine. You can say anything. Now back it up. Where's the proof, basically? Fairfax has denied the allegations the lesson here, though is as it Cavanaugh. When Justice Thomas compared to his grilling by the Democrats before he became a Justice Thomas. And then he called it a high tech lynching, and he got all kinds of scorn heaped upon him from the political left. I I've yet to hear the scorn being heaped upon whatever the governor. Fairfax Justin, Fairfax Virginia. But you not now that it's difficult to actually make an accusation of a black guy. The same kind of allegation made against the white guy. Not too long ago. And the white guy was assumed guilty. Prove yourself innocent prove that thirty years ago. You did not do something prove that you were in a different place. And then our witnesses you were you can't prove a negative. And Fairfax instead of somebody dealing with it on that level made the decision. No, the appropriate level for me to deal with this to say, well, clearly, this is racism. There's just a lynching. People Lynch people I mean hundred at least right here in the state and not just another victim of racism, both women, by the way, I do believe for African American both women who are making the accusations of black. But fairfax. Why do think he needs to have due process? He apparently doesn't even want that really. Because then it would be just a lynching verified by law. GOP majority leader down. They're gonna get Todd. Gilbert said this is the worst most disgusting type rhetoric he could have invoked it's entirely appropriate for him to talk about you process. It would be indeed intend to offer him every ounce of it. And he's welcomed the dick advantage that anytime you're like, but the accusation somehow that this is simply a lynching. Well, I mean, there's some people you can accuse of raping somebody and some people you cannot accused of raping somebody, I guess that just in Fairfax isn't he second group of individuals. What's thank you for ten AM. Six. Eighty toll free long distance is one eight hundred six.

"Else other than the alleged victim, the bar just might think. Oh, well, there's no evidence that he's dangerous to me swallow. Just go sit right down next to him. And introduce myself. They be engaged a little debate. He murdered. Somebody quote allegedly in front of a number of witnesses. And he is now walking around. Because of the judge decided he's not a danger to anyone else. I just think it's bizarre. Do you suppose that would be the case if? If anybody any other murder goes in front of this judge or you're not a property older. Thus we're gonna keep you in prison. You realize what this leads to basically these to a world in which a rich people who own really nice houses. Well, they're they're not going anywhere. They're not a risk to anybody else. Yeah. The the guy stabbed his wife thirty seven times in front of the entire. Entire city council. But you know, he's not a risk to anybody else because he's not married to anybody else right now. So we'll let him walk around is not a problem. I'm sure. Yeah. I'm sure he'll show up in court. Does that make sense to you guys? To me. This makes no sense whatsoever. He's not a risk to anybody else. What about the weight of the evidence that might indicate that this guy? May have done the crime the number of witnesses who saw the arguments on walkout awesome, walk back in and shoot the death. What what about their testimony? What about their perception of how this world is operating now where that can occur and the judge will say, yeah. Bygones, you know, take a mulligan on this one. I just make sure your show for quarter, right? We're not talking about a parking ticket here. We're not talking about twelve miles an hour over the speed limit. This is a capital crime. But I guess it's a capital crime. That's okay to commit as long as you own a home in Baltimore. Again, we're a renter. He'd be totally screwed. But you know, since he's a homeowner then get bail seriously. You see? That was the that's the press kit. That's what they descend on. Well, well, he's a homeowner. So he's not going anywhere. He's no risk. So if you were renter he'd still be in is that the system of Justice, then so in other words, the more assets you have. The more likely it is that you could commit a capital crime. And the judge would say, wow, you want a Maserati you're not going anywhere because you got those bills to pay for the Maserati. Oh, really are. You have an entire floor of one of the buildings downtown you actually combined five condominium units into one. Well, surely, it's just a a murder charge. I'm sure since you're a property older, you'd hang around on no matter what because you realize that owning the property is more important than a murder charge. Johnny nelson. I have a bizarre court action after twenty years I'm still to be punished for not disclosing non-existent millions of dollars. Well, that's bizarre. And this Judy. I'm wondering how this dude that was just granted a hundred thousand dollar bail on suspicion of murder arrest was able to get a permit to carry his gun. I've been a law-abiding private property owning tax paying citizen the Maryland for fifty years without so much as a parking ticket. And I can't get a pyramid to carry mine. What is wrong with this picture? Thanks, Jen in ocean city. It's bizarre. It is just bizarre. On this, by the way on governor HOGAN. The best to term democrat governor we've had since the last two term democrat governor. Governor HOGAN is either an idiot himself for things we all are. I'd love to see him Monte primary against the president. As far as I'm concerned, you can pick up both of us chins and leave the governor's mansion. Now this Jim McMahon burning is avoid the fat jokes. Jim. Look, I just he has a very different vision of of how the world operates than the vision that I see I see a group of recalcitrant. Democrats who will not cooperate with anybody on the right side of the aisle. Anybody it's just not gonna happen. And that is the case in Washington DC. And of course, when was it? Mike Miller said I think it was it was it after sour Breyer after Erlich that what he wanted to do was to push the Republicans face down into the ground. So far that they never be able to stand up again. Is that kind of bipartisanship that concerns me just a bit? When the governor says he wants to work in a bipartisan member with these people. Apparently, he has no knowledge of the animists the people on the political left have for people on the political. Right. But there you have it Stewarton BelAir. He's next up on talk radio. Six eighty WCBS. Good morning. Hoisted the judges. About it about witnessing. Walking around. Walkout few hot. Well, of course, it'd be no danger to that witness unless we just got to an argument with him. I suppose. But you know, again, we had an Email. The first thing this morning who called me a chuckle hit which is one of the nicer things that people have called me names have called me. And he says, you know, I'm basically abrogating the guys the presumption of innocence and suggesting that due process be suspended. No, I'm not I'm simply saying that as you're saying Stewart that there are other things to consider. It doesn't matter if he has a current danger to anybody else. The question is whether or not it's prudent to let somebody who has fairly strong evidence against him. That simply go out on bail after the suspect has allegedly committed murder in front of a number of witnesses. Really? I mean, I think this idiocy. But there you have it Stewart. Thanks for your call four one zero six eighty for distance at one eight hundred six eighty. Barbie Nelson while I'm I'm offended. I think the judges prejudiced against renters. So they're well, sure my point exactly. See if you're a renter than the presumption would be that you could leave town anytime you want, but since you have a mortgage, then of course, you are already wearing an ankle bracelet that your mortgage company had put on so that they know where you were about some every single every single month. Just in case you come into arrears on any of your mortgage payments is kind of like private mortgage insurance but slightly more aggressive. That's basically what it is. You know, when you when you buy a house where like five percent down or I think maybe I can remember the ten percent you have to pay PM, I private mortgage insurance. That's just in case you default on the mortgage. And the Bank can basically get all of its money back. So they want insurance against that. And I think once you get to fifteen or twenty percent. You can drop the PM I because then the legal assumption is the Bank can indeed get it's money back at that point. If you default. So I guess that it would be prudent for bankers to say. Well, if we're going to lend you the money for your mortgage, you own mind wearing this ankle bracelet because we kind of need to know where you are. Just in case you're going to arrears for any reason. It'd match the other one you have on your other ankle for that murder charge. I think this is probably the way they're going to go just like PM just a little bit more aggressive one zero WCBS six eighty toll free long distance at one eight hundred WCBS eighty wealthy president has been uninvited. I guess maybe. To the state of the union address. Now, the state of the union address once upon a time was. Either written or given to congress and bluntly nobody else in the country paid attention to it until the television age. But now the state of the union has become a political football. Nancy Pelosi has suggested the president reschedule the state of the union address, which is no plan scheduled for the end of the month until the government reopens. She says because you know, there's security concerns. She may not be aware could be she's new in town, a she may not be aware. There's this whole organization called the capitol police and other organization called these secret service. And the they pretty much have the capitol dome under control. There have been much more dangerous times in our history where presidents have given the state of the union address to congress, and somehow that's not where any of them have been subject to an attempted assassination. But she says, well, it's just because we have security concerns because what if the capitol police remember, they're not being paid or not right now. What if what if they resent being out on furlough, and they don't do their jobs and bad guys? Come in. Well, all right. Senator Richard Blumenthal. We last heard spotting off about the need to have our troops of a certain strength overseas. This Blumenthal who lied about whether or not he was in Vietnam, by the way. And he's still got elected. Thank you, Connecticut. Man. I tell you. He says there's a real easy solution to this problem. Gosh, I'm glad you thought of this because none of the rest of us could have thought of this. He says just still problem at all just reopened the government to reopen. The government is a very simple path forward. And I hope that the president will heed and hear the voices American. Oh, that's what you're Blumenthal. The Senate minority there's Chuck Schumer and after his meeting with attorney general Bill Barr yesterday. He agreed with Nancy Pelosi's decision policies. Send a note to the president asking him to postpone the state of the union address to a later date or submitted in writing. If I were the president. I'd be inclined to say either. All right. I'll just give it from the White House. You guys have to be there. The real thing is a security concern. I'm going to give the speech. He's not. He's not me. Intimidated by Nancy Pelosi. But Schumer says well, no, he really it's a is unthinkable to have a state of the union address unless everything is calm here. Which is why by the way, there are no state of the union addresses ever during the Iraq war or Vietnam or Korea or World War Two or World War One or the Spanish American war or the great depression. Is it whenever things weren't perfect. We didn't have a state of the union address. Have to be perfect before you do because you always wanted to be the bearer of good news. Which is why you'd never have a state of the union address like in the middle of World War. What? What? Wrong. You says there actually have been state of the union addresses rather routinely. No matter what condition the government was in. Wow. I guess I really am a chuckle ahead. Here. He is chocolate Schumer. What is the state of the union the government is closed because of President Trump? Yeah. If it continues to be closed on the twenty ninth. I think it's a good idea to delay until the government is oh, see. Just apply that to a war situation. Well, what is the situation of the government? What we are at war. I think that it's reasonable for the president to delay. The state of the union address until peace can be achieved. What does the state of the union? We're we're in the middle of the great depression. It's horrible. I think the president should postpone until we are no longer in the great depression about during Obama the great recession. On sorry. We're in the middle of the great recession. I think the president should postpone the state of the union address until the only thing receding is his hairline. Steny Hoyer are very hone talked about this with Bret Baier yesterday on Fox News. We all know, it'd be doing business as.
