"Shuttles to each of the golf courses if I'm not mistaken through the through Saturday and then Sunday just here to pebble. So all at once about the folks here do an outstanding job in so many years of trying to orchestrate getting people around you had Poppy Hills was a great venue for years and now Monterey peninsula. Throughout this decade is just such an outstanding job, and it's such a great great place to go walk around as a spectator. All three of these courses just have such unique scenery and aesthetics that but depending on which one you wanna go to if you have a. A favorite or somebody that you know, that you want to watch him. Yeah. It's just it's very simple to to find them. And they get you get gene outta here. In a very efficient way. I was laughing as we listened to that old montage there with the likes of Paul as Zinger, Peter Jacobsen course, Clint Eastwood it'll be out here today. Sort of the the host of this great clam bake, AT and T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. But it's almost the NBC golf crew right there with Paul now taking over for Johnny Miller, and Peter Jacobsen has been a longtime fixture on the air. So you have to hear their voices. They've they've obviously supported this tournament for years both have won it. And it takes as as far as professionals go. They have to change their mindset in a pro am, and it's a good thing. You can get tunnel vision in any professional sport. But this is the one where amateurs can compete inside the ropes. It's it's it's the equivalent of being on the court on the field on the. Diamond on the rink. But you're inside the ropes with guys competing at the highest level for championships. And and this is as we said in the previous segments one of the premier events in golf. So that is one of the great thrills. And it's fun for us as outsiders to watch. How the pros in the amateurs your that whole dynamic and how it works. I mean, the four of us here with with Darren we can't go play two on two at Boston gardens. Or we can't go throw the football around at Soldier Field. But you can come here and play golf, and if you're an amateur and this vendors you set you're inside the ropes in one of the biggest events of the year. I mean the purses. There's a million three for the winter. I mean, this is this is pretty heady stuff. And I think there's there's guys whose throats kind of shrink a little bit as as it gets further on in the week. It's tough. And to your point. I've seen great legendary athletes. Bill Russell and Wayne Gretzky at times find themselves John in the last grouping on Sunday and really. Almost feeling like how do I stay out of the way out you play somewhat enjoy myself, but not get in the way of my professional partner who is trying to win these guys. They were the epicenter some two of the greatest athletes of the twentieth century. There was a quote this week by Gretzky said something effect. Somebody asked him when he was found that he's going to be the last group one year. I think it was the first year he played here. And he said in the reporter said, well, this is a great excitement for goes. He goes, no, this is a nightmare for me. Millions of hockey fans, and and such so, hey, you mentioned Johnny Miller and his retirement we did a number of podcast the fall and Johnny was able to sit down with me for about a half hour. So if you're interested go to hooked on golf dot com, and you can hear a nice podcast, Johnny Tolson, great stories, and and there's two two different podcast split up. But Johnny told a great story hear about a number of years ago about him winning here. And he won. I believe Tom over three different decades. Played here in this stadium, mature NC J events live down here at one point. And let's let's listen to Johnny Miller tell about some of his history here at at the AT and T after two rounds.

"A group of my friends have been picking college games against the spread. I select five games of note, usually meaningful games of ranked teams, and they give me their pics. Then I keep the results on a Google spreadsheet. Ask Michael this week, I employed the James Carville home dog theory to four for five. I picked Oregon plus for LSU and Virginia giving up seven. Now I picked the aggies over the Gamecocks, but AM was only giving up two and a half practically a pick em in the SEC. If I recall correctly the James Carville home. Dog theory truly states at home team is giving up double digits visitor. It's difficult to pick them, Alabama. Notwithstanding, by the way, the last game was Michigan, Wisconsin. And I flipped it with the badgers, pip, all oil own all. I'm leading the group to seven weeks with a record of twenty one out of thirty five only one other guy over mount exceeding hundred shout after Scott all the picking games. One thing we've learned as the more college football, we watched the less we know about it from Colin MacKinnon in Atlantic City, New jersey. So here you are the place to go to watch Notre Dame games? Yes, we have. We have an actual gold helmet, Notre Dame courtesy of Irish. That's all. Does this mean you're going to have that Mike wilbon character in for the big north western showdown and make extra chili? No, he'll be at that game. That's act northwestern. Oh, he's points out. "Never tickly critically in baker-finch. Not not. They're entertaining, but they are not fellow crushed. People didn't. He didn't fell to a crush people when he was on TV. He seldom. Owen he is softened a little bit now that he's in the main share with Nance over at CBS. But I do think you used to be more critical killed. I mean. Was always critical and Johnny Miller's calling card to be critical was little thing. We like to call a sixty three. Okay, because that's the greatest round ever played in a major. Now it is telling the now that sixty three is not the sacred number. That once was he's lost that card in any sort of stepping away. He's lost. Really his main line there and you saw this, I believe at the Ryder Cup it, it sounded not just tired. It sounded just like the old refrain that he actually did not have anything left to say. Probably recognize that in himself he's gonna do. The last thing is going to do is the Phoenix Open in February. He lives there. He lives in Arizona, and that's the one where they have that one holes at fifteen, whatever the whole is. There's eighty thousand people exceed reading at. No, it's they're just screaming going out of their minds. It's it's unique today looked at their calendar and this is it's tough because we have NBC essentially has the Florida to Texas swing. So you have eight to nine weeks on the road. And today's earlier point about getting back into the calendar of what the basketball schedule look like for for a man in his seventies. That's a lot of Traver. And then he had this big window off because it essentially goes to CBS for the remainder of the summer. And then you have some end of the your vents with NBC as well. I think what's really interesting if the, if the. The. Sorry, who who's who's coming from FOX said as easier. Let me get. This is the mud. I think fair dislikes. The he has as the SAS dawn. They spent a lot of money to get David Ferte away from CBS. And if this opened up that that was my immediate thinking, well, they've they'd stick Ferte in there. Now ferreting may be too niche, maybe to niche for the mainstream audience. I don't know. Some of us are hoping that they'd move away from the the main share has to have a major title to his name to have enough clout to have this because I think golf on TV is ready for disruption. If you see the way people are watching when streams, if you see the voices that are coming into it, the way that architects are entering the commentators chair, the way that younger voices from social media are having fun with this. You would have hoped that they would take a chance, but it's a very safe choice and a lot of sense. I would think they're even employing caddies now bones out there. I think if you wanted to spec. Late down the road who'd Philip chair like that. It'd be Phil Mickelson insurance. I mean, if if he wanted to do it, I thought it would be very, I guess it's as Inger I would just like to see somebody say the kind of thing that you say when you're playing golf yourself, which is God that shot stunk. I was terrible on that. I'm, you know, and I think that stuff is good. I think that koskoff Gulf is not like basketball goes really fast Gulf slows up for you. This show taped shots on golf a lot. You know, I think you could be truly critical and funny. Nobody's runny say one thing that it hurts me. So years ago, I did of long interview with Chris ever spent a lotta time with her. And if you remember she had two stints as a commentator in tennis one that immediately followed her retirement, then she like did the family thing. She was gone for quite a long time. She's back now. She's back and she spoke very specific. Typically firmly about how she found it, almost impossible to speak critically about it from the booth about other tennis players. After having retired just months prior, she just couldn't do it. And it was only after being away some time that she really found her voice and in able to speak. She's really good. I think she's great. He was pretty good. I think she's great..

Only Bill Gates only Bill Gates remains, and these are all guys. They're all. What did you do? I dropped out of school at. And I say my world, yeah. Right, right. Nominal. It's sad jobs and pull out. What else? Funnel story about Bill self in Kansas and a digital historic continues to move on. Says a little bit of Maryland in it to take you back to two thousand seventeen as lawyers for Kansas and Adidas. We're finishing up twelve year. One hundred ninety. One million dollar extension for the company's sponsorship contract with Kansas and coach, Bill self. This text message from Tigray TJ gas Nola who is a top consultant for Dita's basketball who was on trial at the moment. Yes, hall of Famer. Thank you for help with getting this extension done. Thanks brother. Self replied, I'm happy with the Dita's just go to a couple of real guys and guest known replied in my mind. It's k. you Bill self. That's what's right for his basketball. The more you win have lottery picks and you happy. I promise you, I got this. I've never let you down except the Andre LOL and he's over referring to eight. Yes. Apparently family got one hundred gram, yes. Zone with macaroni. This is the tricky part is this if you want to say they are in cahoots, those messages, make it easy, but they don't in fact prove that anything illegal was being done. They don't. This is the way the way business is done is you get a little bit of help from your sneaker company, but you have a contractual relationship with your sneaker company. And so this help is sort of quid pro quo. And that doesn't mean you know that money is being handed, doesn't does does not. Everybody looks dirty and everybody probably smells. And we all know that this happens, but that doesn't mean that on any specific kid right that you know, you don't you? Well, not an exoneration. Excuse me. It's not like sangha. Cavanaugh was proven innocent. No thing is over here is not being innocent. I I, I think I see more in that than you do, but intellectually, I understand. But in in a court of law, giving, you know, judge is going to charge you with with more than just that looks ban. Yeah, there's it looks bad and it is. They will. It's all better. Simply, it's higher education. It's not one professional. Right. Understand. That's why I said a sensibly. Ties back to Maryland Maryland's gut diamond stone. Some other kid, some other kid was and in may not by the way it may not even be the kid, but somebody, parents, guardians, somebody's got their hands, highly recommend story in the athlete by Dana o.'neil, which she's celebrate. Just wrote a great piece yesterday about this stuff out this stuff and about the fact that. Most of the time nowadays, these kids and I think diamond stones, a great example that you do all these things to get. They're not that good. Get clean. So you put your school, your job, all of that in jeopardy. Invert kit. That's not worth it. You know, and and it's abdication as terp point of the story was an abdication of the coaches responsibilities to not just identify talent, but develop it and make players setter gone too soon. And now it's just about assistant coaches who can get you guys and not coach the guys that's in the in the all right. We'll take a break. We'll have old guy radio. When we return. We'll talk about stuff that annoys me corn. This is the Tony Kornheiser show. What do we have here? We all become bespoke post. Yes, I like this. It was my girlfriend. My fiancee now, his wife who was the real force behind getting him to do the work and just I won't recapitulate everything he said, but there was just a frankness. A lack of any fear of being judged about what you're a man, you're an athlete, you're an Earnhardt my God. You know, you can't acknowledge that you, you headings idee and you're talking about a cute anxiety like twenty times the amount of normal exiled. Zayed's. So to me, it was so refreshing and and he's doing this in service to others. I mean in hopes that others. Athletes and non athletes who want to just not deal with it. See that could have a good ending, and he says, he's not worried about long-term consequences that he has recovered and he's out of the car. And I surely hope that's true, but he's he's a really eloquent spokesperson for for this this illness that afflict afflicts hockey players, bull riders rodeo people, soccer players, BMX racers. I mean, boxers obviously it's not just boxers, football players. It's a range of athletes. What does the rest of his life look like? You see staying in the in the NASCAR business? Yeah. I mean, it's, he's, that's another thing. I'm so impressed with him. I mean, like his dad was he is just a worker. He never saw the bunny that came with this sport as a ticket to not work. I mean, it was, I still have to get a well. His dad was get up at five work on the farm drive the tractor, go practice, the car, raced the car, put the roof on the house, fix the fence. I mean, just this obsessive hard-working guy, but is even as his career competitive career was coming to an end. He started talking with NBC about doing work in the studio. In fact, I think he had done some during a hiatus to deal with the head injury. He took a few windows off during his career to deal with head injury, so it never Kurd to him. And this is something we talked about back in February. When we had interview at the Olympics in South Korea. It's just a course I, I need to work, you know? So he's now really trying to be good at being a commentator, an analyst. He does a podcast, I think it's weekly that he puts a lot of work into. He's a car owner. He owns, he has one hundred ninety employee's for his own business. People have no idea so that that's a the the sort of AAA level of NASCAR. But it's a very competitive strong. I think three or four car race team operation again that his sister runs believe his, his mom works there a lot of his friends, many one hundred ninety people depend on him being their boss. So he's he's working really hard, and he and his wife had their first child are really flows. I mean, I met him found him, of course, surprisingly, surprisingly pleasant and for auto racing. Most of whom most of the ones I had met with the exceptions of Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon who are Californian by birth. Most of the other ones are very big on macho guys, very competitive on everything and like your questions are stupid, you know? And he was not like he was born into it and he was not like that. He was not like that. I sort of liked what else can you? Yes. Then you Liz mental trails Missa, Tony to Paul, Allen Microsoft co-founder, billionaire investor. "You did a QNA with Dale Earnhardt so so you've you've all you liked the dad? Very much? Yes. How do you feel about junior and how do you feel about his circumstances now here. I have extraordinary respect for Dale Jr. believe he's forty four. Now he retired from NASCAR from racing last November. I covered a lot of motor sports different forms, but primarily stockcar racing, but different forms. I mean, anytime it's it's like football, but I feel more strongly on this point. Anytime and athlete can walk away on his own terms from from a long career in in motor sports. I'm thrilled and it's sort of easy for us to say, what is their own terms when it comes to head injury, you know, it's that black box. It's that visible thing. They don't know any more than we know is there lingering issues that weren't surface later, but he has written a book that's coming out. I think this week about about his experience with concussions and what that had to do with his retirement. It had a lot to do with his decision to retire. And over the years I've tried to talk about heading. Reese with numerous NFL players and you often get, or I typically would get, I'm not worried about it or I don't wanna know the science I'm going to. I'm going to learn about that later right now. I'm doing this for my family or it's in God's hands. I mean the response it's sort of gives you know room to question. I mean, that's a personal thing. If you feel it's in God's hands. I'm glad you have that faith, you know. So for me to be able to sit with Dale junior. I guess we spoke about thirty five minutes and just hear him talk. So frankly, and openly and candidly about. His series of symptoms, and I don't even know that he can give a firm number of concussions. There's at least four specific ones detailed in the book, and then it's followed by cluster, and I forgot to ask him about, do you have any question about your early racing career racing, late models where they're hit. So there's no firm number, but it's more than anybody would want for your child or yourself. Anyone you love. So he, he spoke just very candidly about the links. He would go to to mask the symptoms to hide the symptoms. To, yeah, all athletes. And then how petrified he was when he finally in two thousand twelve, went to see the specialist at the university of Pittsburgh who deals with a range of professional athletes in Pittsburgh around the country. And got a treatment plan and was told we can fix this. But the rehab work was incredibly difficult and he spoke, I just assume what your professional athlete, you love goals. You love targets. You.

In the afternoons go check out the Collier, bamboo pullover forty percent, bam, Bill because everybody wants to wear a little bit of bamboo. Yeah. That's right. And on your back. Nice news. I do eat Missa Tony. We will sold out with you'll Washington Wizards some very exciting news coming out of that camp, Dwight Howard practice days. That's right. Reported feeling good following the workout. This is what Scott Brooks said after that too early to tell whether he will actually play on Thursday night, but he didn't practice today did absolutely everything. NBA players of always amazed me the here for a reason, but he played well, I'm not sure what that entire sentence, but I guess we'll take from that white out actually go on the court yesterday. So we have this question for David and it's not. I don't care about the white. Our. I mean, I really don't ask this hashtag unit. David is now, you know, David is now working for the Atlantic. David is producing copy. The David is doing something, but for the first time in x. amount of years. And that is the question. David is not at the beginning of the NBA season on the road for Turner, correct. How does how many years and how does that feel. Well, it was fourteen years for Turner, merrily doing games, but you know, did eight years at ESPN before that right, didn't do as many games at least not at the beginning, but was in studio a lot, especially on opening night, you know. So it's a little weird. It's a little odd being not being on a plane somewhere over the weekend. I expect it to be, but it was. But I went to the football game. It was a, it was the first day actually felt like I worked at the letting it was. It was a little odd, not odd. It was just different. It was like, wow, this is what I do now. This is my job now. So the school. So we'll so what's next? I mean, will you go to an NBA game? We'll sure good a lot of a game, but I mean, like opening day you want for the wizards. Yeah, Thursday night. Yeah, but nothing tonight for the two games that'll be on Turner tonight. So now I'm out of that business. Will you watch? Sure, of course out of habit you will watch. Yeah. I mean, I love the NBA most going to watch the NBA. It's there's, no, this is the interesting part to me. When I stopped doing Monday night football, I basically stopped watching Monday night football. I was a little too close to it. I knew how it operated in certain ways. I didn't feel that I could be objective amounted now I've, no, I'm fine now, but I wonder if there's any part of you that says, oh, that guy or that girls doing my job? No, because number one, I think our circumstances of departure or slightly different. So. No, and they have great people. I don't know who's doing the game tonight, but whether it's Kristen lead lower Roz or Allie Laforce they're very good at what they do in terms of sideline reporter, so they've got good people there. And that was one of the reasons I, I felt okay about leaving because I knew we had a whole bunch of good people could do that. I certainly had no illusions that they couldn't replace me. I mean, that was absurd. So life goes on. Sure. All network. They're going to do with that. It's okay to room that Sean Spicer was gonna. I don't accurate. Slightly neck. What else we offer news, we will stay with the NBA Mr. Tony great day for Larry Nance junior, he signs a four year forty four point. Eight million dollar extension will the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is what he have ridge last year. What was the Cleveland Cavaliers? This is not terrible. It's fine. It's eight point. Nine points and seven rebounds, it's serviceable. It's fine. It's not starter. It's not starting. It's okay. You stay in the league? Sure. It's forty, four point, eight million dollars for four more years, and he's scaring t right. Oh, oh, yes. They're gonna let you don't encourage your children be professional athletes because it's never gonna happen. Well, if it does happen her, you're very, very wealthy. I wanted to ask you a question..

"About the league this year, which by the way, I guess everybody who who watches red zone knows this the hour from like three from three thirty to four fifteen on the early window. It's unbelievable at Ford. Five, thin tastic fourth quarters every week, but what we're are we with the league. Well, I think this is this is what they want. I mean, they called perte. You might want you somebody calling mediocrity or whatever, but it does lead to a certain level of excitement when. These teams get together and you know the, there's just not a lot separating them, and it's one mental mistake. One misfield goal. You know, it's Tariq Cohen from one at the goal line, and then Miami going the length of the field and missed field goals over time and and and all that stuff. I mean, there's, I mean the Washington Carolina game. I mean, that was another one that that came down to the end and you're wondering Cam gonna pull this thing. Oh, we over. He sailed it three Turk past events as they were terrible passes. Yeah, I just think that's the league Tony. I mean, that's that from a macro level, that's how it set up. That's the way the draft works. That's the way the scheduling process works. That's the way revenue sharing works. That's the way the salary cap model works. I mean, you've had this New England who've been the alternate anomaly and you know to a lesser degree, you've got, you know, Pittsburgh in Green Bay kinda always in it because of their quarterbacks. But you know, you've got those five or six, true. I Kana quarterbacks at any given time who really do immediately vont your team as long as healthy at least two playoff contention and the rest. And then you've got every year, you know five to ten teams who really don't have a clue, but they could stumble in the winds here there. And everybody else is just, you know. Beating the heck out of each other every week trying to get one of those wild card spots. I think that's exactly how the league wanted. It keeps people engaged it it. It keeps fans interested. It keeps Vegas interested. It keeps people's fantasy. Football teams interested. You know, I it, it I, that's what that's what the league really is all about. And I think last year and the ratings being down and attendants being down and everything else, there was all these anti reasons for it. I think it started with the we're play and you lost so many quarterbacks to long-term injuries, and you had teams that really had no hope. And you've got guys like Brett Hundley running around their ten straight weeks. That's not, you know, that's not good enough. That's that's. That's not the quality of football that people are custom to. And that's why you've seen these rule changes because it's like these quarterbacks more than ever really are the franchise. They are the league and people don't engage with us nearly as much when Aaron Rodgers into Shawn Watson and and Carson Wentz on the football field. I plugged the podcast but don't rile up the dog. Okay. Staring at me. Do it in in in a real Wilson, just do it. No. Okay. This week on the feel so weird. I was already doing it this way. Gene Kelly, what a way to go. Podcast. Get idea. "It was pretty finite and for them just a basically punt on twenty eight teen and say, oh yeah, we'll just roll back out with Bortles because he wasn't got off on the plane. So, yeah, you know maybe once he hit seventy starts, he'll turn the corner like. Know who he is. He's fifty came into the week, it twenty fourteen. He's thrown mortar substance than anybody in the NFL cincy league twenty fourteen his QB rating is eighty one point eight right behind Brian Hoyer and right ahead of Trevor simian. That's who he is. That's who you re upped with. Now you're dealing with it. Wow. I didn't know all those things, but I'm happy to know those things. Let me give to the main event which was New England, Kansas City. What did New England show you and what? And this is. I know you don't know this. I think you don't know this. I don't think anybody knows this except the two people involved. God love to know what Tom Brady said to Pat Mahomes when he ran over to at the end of the game because it must have been incredibly complimentary must might have been you're in the club or jacket. Here's the elite QB card. I just put in your back pocket whenever you want. I that would obviously I have not been able to handicap games very well this year, but that was exactly what I thought it would be a shootout that built to this crescendo where Tom Brady Tom Brady things to show that we're still a little bit better than you and we haven't fallen off the horse and you know what the road to the Super Bowl in the AFC goes back through Foxborough. You know their loss at Jacksonville, weak twos, not gonna matter. Jacksonville's not getting the twelve or thirteen wins whoever again, everyone's AFC south doesn't matter. Now they've got the checkmate on Kansas City. We know the Pittsburgh can't play in Foxborough. So I think that was a statement game for for the patriots and as for Kansas City, they showed that they belong there worthy there in that class. But you don't get that win that suits on. I'm sorry, like everything you did in that comeback and what you did to build out of that slow start and that early. Hole was special and it shows that great things are ahead but not at the expense of Tom Brady just yet. So I I made a list the other day and I think sixteen of the thirty two teams or either at five hundred or within one game of five hundred. And I know the Rams are undefeated and this point. But I'm sort of wondering when you look at the big bulge in the middle, what what does that tell you.

"If you give up eleven sacks and you drop that fifty five times because you're, you know, down by they only only back twenty seven times. If I was Marcus mariota and they sent in a play where I had to pay us, I wat- about the line of scrimmage and hand the ball off because my line is being overrun right oval, Robin, sax nervous firing still hundred percent correctly and his arm, and he's always got knee injuries or this or that. Have you just sending Gabbard out in the fourth quarter when it's twenty one? Nothing and you're clearly not coming back. You know what I mean? When you're getting stacked every drop back like I don't know how about you send somebody else to the wolves that this guy, his allegedly a franchise quarterback. So I said this on on the show last night, I wouldn't have said this for the past five years. I look at that division now with Baltimore and Cleveland, which is pretty good and Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. I think that's the best division in football my wrong or right on this one. It's pretty good. Yeah. I mean, I think you know, we've obviously still got whatever ten ten weeks play right now a couple. Couple injuries could send it in different directions. But yeah, that's very competitive division. The games between those teams have generally been pretty compelling and and somewhat of a toss up. And are they all flaw? Yeah. But I mean three of them can play pretty good defense and Pittsburgh. The last two or three weeks has had the best pass rusher in the NFL they've been getting after people. So that defense seems to be making strides. Yeah, I would. I would generally tend to tend to agree with that, and this could be year. It used to be five, six years ago where it wasn't uncommon, you know, for you to have three teams in that division in the playoffs. You know, in the have them facing each other in the postseason. And I think the chargers are probably going to be a team to be reckoned with from wild card standpoint. I don't think they'll catch the chiefs, but otherwise the other two cards are probably in the the north. I'm still not quite buying Miami. So yeah. What you said before the Tennessee is alive in. Institition that's because of a colossal failure by Jacksonville. They end the number one unbelievable that the number one defense in the league. They were facing the number thirty offense. Number thirty. They gave up forty points. What what is going on? Did we all tremendously overrate Jacksonville or was this just some weird anomaly and they'll get back to being better than that of? They're not going be last year's team and and I my mantra them was they're going to regress they'll probably still win that division because I don't know who else is good in that division. Maybe Houston does come on because and looks better each week and JJ watt looks better each week and they're no great shakes, but could they be the team that gets to nine wins? I mean, eight with tiebreakers might might win that division. No team in that division has a positive scoring differential. I mean, we're not talking two or three weeks into the season, like for six weeks in nobody that division is scored more points than they've allowed. Jacksonville's flawed. Jacksonville cannot play from behind at all. Blake Bortles in their last three losses. First, half QB rating is forty. Nine point, eight one. So when he's giving it up and the defense is slipped and they don't have for net who I don't think anything special, but at least I guess, gives them a semblance of power running game. Then the quarterbacks gotta be somebody who at least keeps them in games, and he's second the NFL turnovers and he's not keeping them in games, and he is. He's always been, which is maybe he's the starting quarterback, but he's probably not. And if he wasn't drafted, third overall, he'd probably make it five million a year as a backup somewhere and not eighteen million a year as the supposed- starting quarterback of a SuperBowl caliber team defensively. I think those guys got a little high on their horse last year. I think they, they kind of bought the hype a little too much. And this we as a way of humbling you, are they going to be able to keep that defy. Together. I mean they, they're window to me..

"We have played this before. We liked it so much wanted to play again, sent by Donald, longtime listener from New Jersey. And if this doesn't have spring. He says, here's my van ruby roses, an indie rock and pop mentality. Here's shipwreck from debut album. Some new paradise. If you're from New Jersey and you don't begin songs. Jersey. Right? And that's the Springsteen if is it not a bit? Yes, I don't wanna say derivative, but yet. Sure. Two. Yeah, very Bobby in tearful, Jason lockenfora CBS sports joins us. Now we have two questions of import before we start the football stuff. One is how how's the dog? What? What where we with the dog with copper, he's my lap as we speak. We go to see the surgeon on Friday. Okay, so hopefully we get a little clarity on our point of attack. If we're which they were doing. I like cetera. How many second mortgages do I need? Third? What I need to do to pay for this thing. He's, you know, he's a pretty good spirits. It's just, you know, just kinda not limping, but just, you know, kinda laboring a little bit. We're rooting for the dog, and we think you should talk to him about Aaron Rogers and his ability to get you into. Usually sleep before the primetime games come on. Right? So he did not get to see exploits last night. I watched for both of us, but yeah, he's going to be hobbled here even more than once we figure out which needs going I. But yeah, that was something else. Last night. I mean, you talked about a one man army, right? I mean, he's got a punch of receivers who most people never heard of. He'd resurrects Jimmy grant from the dead. You know, running back by committee, beat up offense of line defense can't stop CJ Beth, third, but they get. They get the w. o. one other question all the question I needed receivers for this was the guy you wanted to Tehran, Taiwan Taylor's, any good from Tennessee. I they, they don't throw them in. He gets open deep, but they just can't. That's not mariota's game. And that's really not how they're structured. I, I'd stay away from that offense, highly right now. He was. He beat Jimmy Smith 'bout fifteen yards in that. Game on Sunday and had a chance for a seventy yard bomb. Mariota threw it to a different code. So let me let me stay with that for a second discouraged. David often I watch Tennessee. They've been on a few times on the red zone all the time. They they don't do much offensively mariota who is nimble and quick was sacked, eleven at some point, doesn't an offense. Coordinator have to say, let's go to something else. Right coordinator, Matt leflore who is supposed to be part of this Sean McVay family tree, but that that that routes going to take a while to hold or you know, it's gonna take a while for that that that Bush to grow or whatever. He, you know, a lot of people wondered if he was ready for that job and we'll see, this is what he's, he's got a great group skill players. Delaney Walker is tight end who stir it was, you know the straw that started that during he made everything going, the passing game. They lose him for the season. Very early on. I, I don't know that there can read is, is anything special or that even fits their scheme. They should probably use the on Lewis more than they do. And look. There tackles are supposed to be there twin pillars that's supposed to be their Dacian building blocks conklin and Luan when they're getting overrun by Jude on dairy Smith that you've got, you've got some problems. And I know those guys have been on the injury report a lot, and they're probably not close to one hundred percent, but the. Amazing thing about the AFC south is guys right there. I mean, they play games this year. I don't think they've scored enough touchdown yet to three and three, and they've got head to head wins over teams in their division like they're almost kind of sort of sitting pretty, but I've never seen anything like that..

"And they get a run immediately and it's the first inning earned run. He's given up and I think twelve starts yourself on Hannibal at Dodger Stadium, and he was hit -able. Although we had a good game, the last home run that made it for nothing makes us statistics look bad, but that's a one. Nothing game for six innings to nothing game into the eighth inning. I think soared seventy eight. Yeah, and the dodgers didn't hit dodgers got five hits the relievers come in their leaves go three and two thirds and they give up nothing, right, right. I'm one of those people who thought and thinks that the dodgers are better team, and I'm I'm beginning to think I'm wrong. Brewers have been so. Resilient. I mean, they wouldn't twelve straight to to to get in into beat the cubs on the road division. Yeah, so that they have a toughness about them that is really striking to me that seems to be able to overcome the vagaries of game to game, especially in the playoffs. They just seem to figure out ways to win every day that that's really impressive to manager. Looks like a guy who's walking your dog. Craig counsel way, seventy five pounds. He looked getting. He looks dog Walker. He goes to the bullpen early. He gets great result, but he stayed with Jason last night longer than you would have thought. Third, right? By the way you've pitchers now, if you get out of five, you're considered to be an right. All right, six. 'cause nobody's doing that anymore. It was a good good for Bill and it was a good game. It looks to me like first of all, they now no matter what happens. They get to go back home. Yes, at least one more day. They get to go back home even if the worst happens to them, which is good. I like to three to the NBA went away. Well, there was some arguments against two to three to that. The thought was, it's it's so hard to win three games in a row in the finals. You're kind of penalizing the three team that has three home games by putting them all together thought was it makes it very difficult for them to win three in a row. And if they lose one of those three, then they have to win to on the road to win the championship. And there was some thought that that was a bit unfair that they should stagger it a little bit more and I get that. But I love to three two, two and and for for purely selfish reasons, Tony, I loved it because you could. You could unpack for week week. Great. You know, like two, three, two baseball state with two, three, two, yes, hockey. I don't think ever had to three. They've always been to the NBA when away from it. "He's going to be angry because that's actually bigger draw. That is Houston. Boston is the bigger draw in the dodgers in Milwaukee Bill is and very happy. We'll get to that. We'll start with a football game last night this, and let me start by saying this Tom Brady is if you're going to say, who's the. Best quarterback of all time in that conversation, you have to include Tom Brady, yes, he's right there is the best quarterback of time. Patrick Mahomes looks like the the new young great quarterback, right? Yes, yes. But Arron Rogers is the best quarterback right now. He is the best quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and you can see this last night. He won the game him. He won the game. He delivered the mail. He threw for four hundred twenty five yards. Two touchdowns and no picks interest you in that. If you like the quarterback q. when you like them as much as Aaron Rodgers, he got ten points in the last one, fifty, five. He got the ball back with no time outs. None. What did he have left under minute? Fifty four seconds. I think right. And he went down the field just down the field shore throws the most perfect pass and often David and Liz because you've come what Bolton throws. While going backwards? Yes. I'm wondering what limping. What do you say when you see that guy? He's the best piece the best. I don't that at all and the throwing mate of Saint browse great catch, but he put it exact the only place it could be for it to be completed. And again, Saint brandy, great catch and got out of bounds and that setup for field. He's throwing it. He's got no time outs. This is football one on one. You give him the middle of the field. You protect the out of bounds. Any still, right? He still climbing two of them just like he did to who wasn't in the playoff game against Dallas. Two years ago, he hit the tight end down the down the sideline for thirty five yards and possible pests that Marty Bennett at that point. It was the guy that was with the raiders and I can't remember his name now. He was only cook cook and it's the pass. He makes all the time in crunch time. I mean, he's he's the best. Here's the. Between being our in Rogers and being someone else like CJ Beathard z. j bathroom goes downtown late in the game and gets picked giving Rogers the ball on the nine without timeouts. And it results in and it results in not a Hartfield both Mason Crosby had the worst night of his life last week through key missed four field goals and extra point on any other team dome. Yeah. In most other teams, your cut that night now he's played their longtime one of the things that probably saves them. One of the things not all of them is Rogers puts his on. Yeah, peewee racism puts this round on the bench tells him, don't worry. It's going to be all right. Yeah. How many kick last night? Four. He had four four last night including the walk on, right, right. Courtesy of Aaron Rodgers who he's phenomenal. He's on. I think he's certainly on that shortlist to. Of best ever. I mean, you probably needs a couple of more Super Bowl wins any may not ever get that. He's thirty four. Yeah, there's still got some time. He's got a lot of. It's not right Elway. He's not Elway's faulted defense, good enough to get away. Went to five. He did and uses only gone to one. That's true. That's so you know. So that's at some point when you're when you're grading. That's a factor. So Jeff, Ma oneness game last night, Jeff, Mont, which I thought was stupid in lambo took the forty Niners plus nine and a half, Jeff Ma is three one in one this week. He's sixteen ten and two heels that good..
