"You can't stop us. They tried to stop us, and we said no. We're like Rudolph of this red knows we're going through with this. No matter what we're taking to the skies or in this case we're taking to the airwaves. To bring you the final installment of the conversation with Peter Hartlaub, one of our favorite guys from the San Francisco Chronicle. As we discussed the legacy, the memory of the great Ralph Barbieri, the razor one of the all time legend from KNBR, enjoy the conversation and happy holidays. So Shannon. All that being said one of the other things we love about Peter is he is He's got a lot of different interests, and he's a big music lover like we are back. Tony and I saw Pearl Jam with Peter a few years ago. I've come across Peter and occasional rush show back in the days when they were playing, so this would be a great time. Shannon Roll off the musical assignment. Let's Let Peter kick things off. And what do you got up your sleeve today, kid? Here's the deal. I was reading peepers latest piece on Gorilla history. So there is this non profit Or maybe, Peter, do you want to say a few words? Just about just Western Neighborhood project? They're awesome. It's this little grassroots nonprofit of people who are telling history of the western half of San Francisco. And and they have access to a lot of photo archives there A lot of collectors who give them their photos and that's been a lot of the basis of what they've built is they have these 50,000 photos that are open source. Anybody can grab them. And they decided what can we do with these 50,000 photos in the pandemic? Well, maybe people can put these photos up on telephone poles so that you get kind of this now and then experience you get a photo from 1912, and it's out in the Richmond district somewhere. You put it on a telephone pole of people can see what it looks like now and then they've got this photo of what it looked like then. So that was basically their project. They said. Anybody who wants to can go put these things on telephone poles. A ton of people did it. There are hundreds of them around the city Now. Nice. Well, though, was that that was an awesome article. And so that inspired me to think. Okay, Well, let's do seven Cisco history then, but we need Tomo hick artists and songs from different decades. Okay, so we can't double up And that's the challenge. Okay, I'm Johnny Lee Hooker to the mother hips doing their annual You know, celebration every year. We're gonna run the gamut here, Peter, if you want to kick it off, Peter, For the record, this is without question. The most complex musical assignment Shannon has ever doled out. Even analytic writer Peter Take it as a compliment. I basically Shannon's saying I'm gonna dole something out to Peter. So there you go. All right, I get it. I'm gonna go nineties because I want to leave you guys the sixties and seventies. I don't wanna do that, calling it it. It's like a middle finger to Polly, if I take if I dive into the sixties and seventies, so I'm in it. I'm gonna pick the nineties and the most Underrated. I think of San Francisco bands. You never see them do a national anthem, but they're absolutely classic formative influence. A lot of people. I'm taking faith no more. Yes. Yes. And I'm gonna go a little bit off the board. I think you know, taking something from one of their Of you know something off angel dust would be the obvious thing. I'm gonna go with the full for a day King for a lifetime. I might get that mixed up. That's when Roddy bottom. The keyboard player really started Tonto maybe get involved with more of the song writing and everything and the closer on that soaring Mike Patton vocals. Bands. All together is a song called Just a Man. That's not the song that's gonna be on the radio. It's not the song anybody's thinking about, but when I think about Faith. No more San Francisco in the 19 nineties, where I'd want to go would be at the war field to hear faith no more belting out that song. Three guys, They're good task. I love like that vocal, by the way, Just Oh, And I wanted to wear my patent is now I wish. Hopefully he's making music somewhere. Oh, he is so he's active. He's out there. Okay, Okay. Yeah..

I mean, at the very latest early sixties, my guess it might even be a little earlier than that, In any case. Just for the sake of like throwing some good particles out into the atmosphere, trying to generate some good karma because I worry about the music venues in San Francisco, like the independent Jonny Lee Hooker's boom boom room is the one I'm narrowing in on here. These clubs, men, they need business. And Shannon, you and I have talked about this man. It's not Madison Square Garden out here, these air small, independent venues that need the revenue. They need the customer. So when the smoke clears, and we can get back to real life, I really hope that we can all walk through the doors of the boom boom room again, located right across the street from the Fillmore in San Francisco on Geary on, But there is a nice rich blues history in San Francisco. And like a lot of the great blues tunes, Shannon I got turned on to the track. I'm going to select, which is Own bone boom. Yeah, First time I heard that was Springsteen was covering that when he on his tunnel of love tour in 88 to really kind of up tempo, rock and version of that, and then I went back and listen to Johnny Lee. He's just playing it with the guitar. It's really rough. It's really primitive. But it's kind of captures the essence of who. Johnny Lee Hooker Woz and also like I said the name of the Great Club in San Francisco, the boom boom room. So Shannon, call. Yeah. Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! I'm gonna shoot you right down all for your feet. Take your home with me, but you're in my house. Boom, boom! Boom! Oh, how I like it like that? Oh, Falling and I'll take you from here and you know I could go. You know.

"We're dork off even more with every comedy makes and it is not a gimmick. He is goingto try to disassemble Augusta National. We also learned That the big 10 is back. We got some expectations. And but it sounds like reasonable expectations from this cast and crew for this parties and and wolverines just happy that they're coming back. And obviously congratulations to LeBron James. But But Jimmy Butler, I think is a big winner out of the bubble as faras perception, really realizing how good he is and different things like that. Which leads us to Shawn's favorite part of the program because he is Mr Mediocre rate down the middle. It's the picks other week. Shiny new arm, Alberto's Bro, You're wanted one last week seven and seven on the year. You know that you're losing juice. If you know my nose and juice. It's not as bad as it could be. But I'm gonna let you lead off this week with your to pull whatever the over is, you know Shame on me for not looking it up. It's not that hard to find. I think it's 54 a half is a maid. A matter of fact. I love thee over on online's. And Jags. Both teams can move the ball. Neither team can stop anybody. But I'm not going to use that as my pick. That's just a bonus pick not Oh, Johnny Lee Bonus pick of the day. It's a bonus like alright, I like Lions minus three. Defense is optional for both teams. It's like watching an SEC game ATT least last weekend, But I just think the Lions have too much of Jags defense is really, really bad. I'm going to take the Cardinal's minus 1.5 at Dallas. It was a good story, with Andy Dalton getting that win last week against the Giants, But the Cardinals are a good team, the Giants Are awful. And I'm going to take the Chiefs The bills have a quick turnaround after getting pounded five o'clock Monday night. I like Casey, bouncing back from that loss to the Raiders and cover in the point. Excuse me, 2 3.5 in Buffalo. Eric Dunn. Ah, I'm going to take the lions as well. Look, this is a chance to watch Uncle Rico up close for the Jaguars gardener, Menchu. Be excited to see what he can do. But I We just have too much offense to not be able to pull this one out. Both teams have terrible defense is taking the lions. Ah, Shawn, he took mine. So I'm gonna adapt on the fly here. I'm gonna go with the Falcons over the Vikings to get their first win of the year. On. Then I'm gonna take the Browns over the Steelers Browns were playing good right now, You know, Rivalry game and Steelers are a great team to sew Brown's over Steelers. All right, that I like it. You're on my brownie train. You're on my brownie train. I didn't. I'm not taking him this week. I think that big ban will be a little bit too much. But I I'm going with The Rams quietly quietly. Foreign one Jared Goff Cooper Cup Robert Woods. Little bit healthy there, minus 3.5. About the 40 Niners who are sort of beat the snot. There's Jimmy G. At what? That it's not the you know, They're not right. And for whatever reason, so you know the Rams are my sneaky watch. Oh, Picked. That is sort of surprised me and The one who's not surprised in anybody. Is the Tennessee Titans and their minus three against the Texans at home. That's a setup. Yeah, that is weird, but it got me hook line and sinker, fish fish. I'm gonna fish in on this one is not going to cost me anything. Except my pride, which we know that if you up and down Esso I like the Titans, and you know what, Like there's there's a situation Shawn, where you get when we talk about Ryan Tannehill their quarterback, right, and you look at Mike Vrabel and you look at Derrick Henry and you look at the way that Brian Tannehill is not. You have to change the perception that he's not the same quarterback he was in Miami. This is a note for a guy. This is a guy who's game management skills, but he's got like he's better Then then most you know, like would you put him in the top? 12 guys right now, as faras efficiency like he's in the perfect system, right, And that's where that's where it's so important to have guys that follow along that Titans team what they did to the bills. There on Tuesday night was Ah was I don't know that was a little bit shocking. You know that game was a lot of shocking, So I'm the my two picks this week to Titans in the Rams. Are two of the teams that I think even though it's a weird number that are good that that our teams that airplane really well right now, now can they stay healthy? And can they continue it? Who knows as faras, the Lions You've got to think this is the greatest opportunity for confidence in the world. Delighted up in whatever you know, Stafford, you know, air it out. Do whatever you guys need to do, because How bad is it going to be for you, Sean Sunday if they don't win that game, sitting in its Listen, you really do have to worry about that. At that point time, Matt God forbid that happens about everything Just unraveling. Because they really don't have any reason to lose to this Jacksonville team. I mean, Jacksonville's defense is arguably worse than the Lions defense, and that's that's saying a lot at this juncture of the season. I mean, They've given up 147 points. You know, I mean, you know, Granted, the lines have given up 127 in one game less, but they've been very, very poor defensively. I don't think they have anywhere near the offensive weapons that the Lions do so God forbid that happens, but it could spiral very, very quickly. You know, one of those one of things I wanted to ask you a quick little Avion bell being released by the Jets, and you know it looks that the Dolphins chiefs bills her bills. Where would you go? Shauna fewer Labia bell. Mills might be the bills might be a good spot. I mean, now, if you want to go win and be part of something special, you go to Kansas City. I don't think there's any debate about that. But You know if he went to Buffalo Boy, could he really add to what is already an intriguing cast and I listen, I love I'm not joking. When I say this. I love that kid in buffalo..

"I did. Yeah curtis required this. Or i think if you're too young to take the sat than you're like promised to go to school while you're at curtis. This is a promise. This is an interesting story. So i went to encore school for strings every summer from seventh grade through senior year except after sophomore year of high school where my parents made me take the princeton review to increase smile. Psat's score did poorly the practice him in tenth grade. And so. I did that. But i was off campus. We call that off core. And i actually had to learn the viola so i could still participate in Music because they were short. Violas inside was getting ila training. Know literally just sight read this mendelssohn quartet on deal because that's how stupid as a teenager. Equality there were a few like wrong excels but other than that. It's pretty much experience. I did the whole third position in versus to press you into services. Violas prompts sexto. A totally worked the prince review increased. My score by three hundred points actually worked for the princeton review time not an ad for the princeton review to learn more about the prisoner..
