"A us immediately buy food for the poor to help those who cannot help themselves. It's what we would call to do. It's what we should do. Thank you to all of you who have helped and will be helping portions of America. I brought to you in part by food for the poor. Have to give a south out. It's always good to recognize the success of your friends and your colleagues we love the federalist here. One of our guests, a regular guest is Ben dominates the co-founder. The other co founder is shown Davis. You can follow him. Sean DAV, very simple, Sean DAV on Twitter, and guess who just re tweeted one of his latest articles. It's a guy with fifty nine million followers. The president of the United States reposted Sean Davis's article from the Wall Street Journal, quote, a catastrophic media failure an incredible analysis of the last two years. Let's listen, you read the article wants the show's finished. So now, he can go off and read it. But in the meantime, let's listen to the media is reacting to Muller proving that there was no collusion. Let's go to Chris Cuomo talking to the president's lawyer, the mayor of America Rudy Giuliani cut for like stretching to prioritize you are defining it that way, and it's very clever. No, I'm very clever had a power you guys. Yes network. What have I die tortured this man for two years with? Collusion, and nobody apologized for before we talk about drug air was the overreaction collusion. Not a chance. No plays. You know, better than that. You don't know better. I am outraged by the behavior of these networks. Okay. Russian collusion, collusion collusion. Collage Leno Kobe. Here's my here's. Here's my case. Apologize. Never. Here's my never never. I didn't do anything wrong is questions are real. I be regarded as such we needed to be investigated. Apologize. Chris Cuomo's response. Never good. Chris. You just keep doing it. Why because you will be as irrelevant as all your other colleagues in the fake news industrial complex, you have such hubris that you think it is fine for two years to charge. The duty elected president of the United States is an agent of a foreign power that he colluded to steal an election. And when the mare former mayor of New York justly asks for you to apologize for your behavior, you refuse. We should all be. Did you hear the passion? In the mas- voice all Americans if you care for Justice, if you care for the founding principles of our Republic, we should all have that fire in the belly that he did, you know who else has it, my friend, Sean Hannity, let's listen to part of his monologue from yesterday's Sean Hannity show. Because again, another person who gets the stakes involved Cup five many of you since yesterday, I've been writing me, and you want me to spite the football tonight. I am not in any type of celebratory mood here tonight in any way. This is a time every American that now knows truth you should be angry at what has happened here. All of America, I am pissed off. And so should the rest of the country be over what has happened. This be a day of reckoning for the media for the deep state for people who use abused power. And they did it so blatantly in this country if. We do not get this. Right. If we do not hold these people accountable. I promise you with all the love, I can muster for this country and our future for kids and grandkids. We will lose the greatest country God has ever gave man. Another overstatement phone exaggeration. Why? Listen to what happened. Three years ago. The Obama administration used lies coupled together by former foreign intelligence agent, Christopher Steele, which included Russian propaganda material about candidate Trump. Dossier was presented as impartial information to a Pfizer court secret. Judge who provided a surveillance warrant against Carter page who worked on the campaign. That's the veins warrant was used to spy on Donald Trump and his colleagues at the time. The fact that it was opposition research paid for by Hillary Clinton, and the DNC or the cost of twelve million dollars was not made public to the judge. I can tell you the judge who issued that warrant was very angry when he found out, but it was too late. The wheels of the intelligence community had started to turn they tried to create quote, unquote, as one of the text messages from inside the DO Johnny FBI says an insurance policy against Donald Trump ever winning. But he won. What did they continue to do? They use that dossier to start an investigation a counterintelligence investigation and a separate criminal investigation against the president who had been elected by sixty three million people. That is what happened and for two years of the cost of twenty five million dollars. Five hundred interviews five hundred warrants served. The man and his campaign was exonerated. But the fact that the FBI the DOJ and most likely the CIA as well was used as a political weapon hasn't changed. We need to ensure exactly the president said yesterday that it never happens again to any president Republican or democrat because that is what happens in a third world banana Republic. This is America we have to get to the bottom of it who initiated.

"Have to sound. You didn't hear Williams with Steve sang, right? John. It's a gift. It's also to eleven on WGN where the really to eleven. The later normal. What happened? We're in the AllState skyline studios we're here till three Saturdays tend to noon. Saturday. We'll do our show from SOX fast. We'll talk about the White Sox season. That's coming up. We'll talk about the season after the season. That's coming to. We'll talk about trades. It'll be a lot of fun. You're White Sox fan. We are to hear a WGN radio. And we will see what SOX fest is. I do my show from it on Saturday. Our techs include these about the NFL referee, John the FBI is investigating that referee true story. So I just Google the FBI NFL crickets, I got nothing on that. You guys haven't heard that have you. I mean. Nobody would you know, throw us under the bus here. Trying to trick us. Kevin. You don't have that story. Do you? I haven't seen that yet. Johnny FBI is investigating the referee. That's not a true story. Trickery John eight four seven it's impossible to miss that infraction. There has to be more to this than what we're talking about two six two. Gee whiz. John how soon before NFL players wanna participation trophy. Good god. Now if you lost lost. I think their participation trophy is the guaranteed minimum. Yeah. No kidding. You really you can only feel so sorry for you. Almost feel more sorry for the fan. One hundred percent. They're not millionaires to to force his high WGN how about younger refs if you're over thirty or two old. I think but you gotta entice the talent to do that are these lucrative jobs. No, no. These are normally these are normally secondary job for a lot of these guys are full-time. More businessmen professionals who traveled the country in the season, but they have jobs during the week in the Aussies. Yeah. But it's a prestigious job too. I mean that is just because you pay to let doesn't mean you don't really wanna do it. No. But I think at the end of the day twenty two young because you're not old enough. You haven't been doing it? We haven't been doing. No, it's true. You don't have your ten thousand hours in a certain certain degree of wisdom that comes with a Well, I I think there's a lot of things I mean, can you imagine having to make an unpopular call in front of seventy thousand people and be confident you got it. Right. I don't trust the twenty five year old with that. And I don't trust the eyeballs seventy five year old so somewhere in between those closer to forty is maybe the sweet spot, but you don't see many forty year old officials. They all got gray or white hair high school girls basketball game last week and really paid that much attention to it. But I was watching the officials, you know, like, they don't really have to run at all. You know, you think of I always thought if officials is running up and down the court, they really they really don't get. What sport he's talking about basketball? They're running a half court. Yeah. Right. You you get the half court. And then the other guys down there. Then you go back to your baseline. So Adam my whole observation. Sorry. Israel, the show a lot more ground to cover in the NFL than I. Yeah. Soccer match. I don't even know why they have officials. They don't get it. Right or they everyone's faking injuries. Oh, I know. It's just ridiculous. You don't need officials and soccer. I ref part-time in college just to make a few extra bucks, and I would do anywhere from five year old pickup basketball games to flag football games. When I first started. You're you're nervous. I mean, all is you at least feel like the eyes are on you. They're probably not as Steve just said, you're not watching the rest, but you think they are. And so the first time you even call penalty, you're freaked out about I think I'd rather call the college teams in the deal with five year old now. Friend you. Absolutely got that. Right. I think it's a great tea, isn't that a great life lesson though. I don't know what I mean by that. Kevin. It's it's. A unique experience to have to make a decision assert yourself in standby in front of a bunch of people. Can I tell you a terrible story that I've never told before I used to referee or umpire softball, and you know, I think I was probably a little too into it myself. You know, as young Byrom the authority, and I went to a dugout where someone was complaining these thirteen or fourteen year old girls, I turn my back and someone threw a Cup of water on me. Funny. No, that's pretty funny. Up a coach wants that was invigorating. How old were you at the time? I was in college. I was probably twenty twenty one Steve Bertrand. But I was too young. I had no real control over it. No, really. I was immature. You are should've turned said who did that throw somebody out throw the coach out something like that? You know, note, the Maury did it or you start delivering calls with confidence. And I think more people just they trust you. They believe you, right. And I think that's body language to okay. Enough about all of this. It's two fifteen. I got a call on my phone twice in the last two weeks. Maybe you've received these calls to maybe family of friends have, but it's an automated voice, and it says something like this is an update from the social security administration. We've noticed suspicious activity using your social security number press. One to find out more first time, I hung up week later. I get the call again. I recently lost my credit card and have had a changed over in. How you're nervous about your whole world when you think you're vulnerable and now. The social security administration is call him. And I'm like, oh, maybe somebody got the thing. And now they're doing something else. And so I really wanted to press one. But I was nervous about what Pandora's box. I was going to open if I hit one on my cell. So I didn't then I looked at the recent on my phone to see what the phone number was. And then using the company's phone because it'll screw them up. Not me. I called that number that number rang at the social security administration. It is their phone number. So I thought hokey smokes. It looks like that was the social security administration calling me because the return call was to them saying they're suspicious activity with your credit card number. So we reached out to Tracy Thanos who joins us on WGN radio, Tracy is special agent in charge of the social security office of the inspector general in these Chicago field division, Tracy. It's John Williams. Welcome to the show. How are you? I'm doing. Well. Thank you. Thanks for. Joining us is my experience unique. No, your experiences. Not unique. We have seen a huge spike in these type of impersonation calls is that what you call them impersonation calls where somebody is pretending to be an agency that they're not I guess. Correct. That's similar to a lottery scheme where they're legitimate. Sizing scheme by saying it's a legitimate telephone number that they're spoofing and using a government agencies name like the essay or the IRS. But how were they able to? I thought maybe I had discovered something when I noticed that. It was the social security administration number displays on my phone. What does that mean? Yes, unfortunately, the fraudsters are able to boost numbers such as our national call number or any other at the office number unless you can have a number that does not call out the number would need to be blocked. So unfortunately, yes, that's what is happening. So they're able to use steel your number in and make it essentially route they're called through your number or make it appear as though it came from you to me what would have happened. If I hit one on my phone. Most likely what would have happened is that the call would have been sent to an outside call center, probably outside the country where you would have been routed to someone who would most likely arm you for your personal identifiable information or Bank account information, anything that could tie you to something where they could access your money. I almost wish I had just so I could hear I mean because if they started to ask for a Bank account, number or credit card number. I don't think I don't think I don't think I would have given them that information. They can then convince people over the phone to do that. Sadly, you know, some people just believe believe these fraudsters believes that people are honest believed that someone says that there with the social security ministration, and they need this information. And unfortunately, they they do just that if I had given them say say took the first step, I call, and they verify my social security number. I can imagine going something like that. And I give them my social security number. I'm not that vulnerable yet. Am I or am I already now in trouble? If I give my SS number to somebody over the phone. You're not entirely in trouble. Unless there might be other public information out there about you could be on the internet. If your data birth is out there or other information that could tie you to. Something that they might want its identity theft in a isn't it? And this is just one of the pieces of information. They're looking for. Definitely. Yeah. But at the end of the day, I would did their their endgame is what so they cobble together some information or maybe I give him the whole store. What what are they trying to do here? They're trying to tell you that, you know, something's gone wrong with your number that they need you to send the money that they need your Bank account information for some reason there they're very believable. They're going to tell you, you know, you might get arrested. If you don't give me this information. So the end game is for them to get you to send them something. And payment it they're trying to get money. They're trying to get access to my Bank accounts. I guess right. Oh, yes. Let them, you know, thousands of dollars. And even if they're not successful with you know, they might get that one person that they that does get them the information and you just get scared. I mean, I remember a couple years ago. A guy called my home number and said he was with the IRS and every bone in my body knew it couldn't be true. But. But I didn't put every still frightened, and they still considered it. And I'm you know. Easily. Right. But it's still just as so disarming. Well, I think your IRS information. Your tax information, your your Bank or social security information is very important to you. There are agencies. Here's the thing. I think there are agencies that are managing them or even safeguarding them. And if there were a breach wouldn't they reach out to you? So how do you know based on that first phone call that this thing is a fraud? No, you wouldn't know. And there have been so many data breaches that. There is a lot of information out there. The red flag to me would be though if they said send money or if they got angry or if they. What were some of the things you said that they would do if they said I could be arrested. I mean for crying out loud or if they had a Russian accent. I think that would sort of tip me off. Do you think that these bad actors are in Russia or places like that where we know there have been some hacking going on? I believe they are. I mean, there's there are Saad warning signs if you if you hear a accent foreign. Accent that that might be something to look out for. I mean, if someone's calling you from a number that you don't recognize, you know, mainly just not answering the call. It'd be your first step to to helping yourself out. Yeah. That's the thing. I mean, it's funny because when your cell phone rings, you think man, maybe it's a that's a little closer to home than a landline. That seems to be a little more personal like, maybe there's a reason I should be getting this call. So I answered it. But it didn't display. IRS? It didn't say social security did display like I said, a one eight hundred number, and I think it was one eight hundred number and when I look back on my phone like I said that would seem to be the right number for the essay Chris had a question or an observation about this. Hey, Chris, you're on WGN. Hi, hey, thanks for taking my call. I get a lot of these calls on the landline. And. I'll take the opportunity to put on an old woman's voice and just drag it out and drag. Twenty or twenty five minutes a lot of times, they want you to get on the computer, and, you know, get into your banking information. You've you've had conversations. So how? So you're you're gonna make them miserable. As long as you can. Oh, you know, you figure every minute that you can keep mine it's one or two or ten west people. They're gonna bother but they're thrilled. Once they find out the f bomb starts to fly and starts to fly all their ads..
