No we got do our history lesson. Let's get it and now it's time for this day in history. All right hundred on this day in history november second eighteen ninety eight johnny cable johnny cable johnny campbell. He's a fellow that started something. Here i guess not. Just in the states of everywhere standing in front of a crowd of sports fans whole jedi campbell. A medical student started started conducting the cheer on the spur of the moment. He was so effective that the team won and he made history as the first cheerleader. Right there the first eighteen ninety eight day in history j. yes so good. Old jetty campbell. Yeah the first cheerleader. They're so ari. R. e. b. r. e. b. o. u. n. d. reba me. What's the thing passive aggressive wd. I that's the way we spell rowdy. Roddy good stuff man. Look i'm obviously a fan of cheerleaders. Okay you know as a young as a young athlete and one of the highlights was seeing cheerleaders. You know they'd be out there practicing. You're out there trying to flex becky watch me. Throw this football throw. Suffice god i thought it was great. It was great. There's something about athletes and cheerleaders. They just go together. So well and you g l y you ain't got no alibi you ugly. I don't think you could get away with that one nowadays. i think we'd be offensive. That's bad shot up up. It's fine one hundred. Did you guys have cheerleaders on your cheerleaders man. Yeah hope if fill up the track we had a lot of chilies and beyond the cheerleaders had pompoms best. Is that still a thing. I think so. Then you had what the flag squad to or is that that was more for wasn't it. Yeah full setup. man still lost. We went a lot louder. Damage not doing job. Sometimes honestly this is for real thing they cheer the band. We get so loud and the cheerleaders. Get so rowdy or coach. Couldn't like hall place so he'd run over to the band piped out of the run-off scream at the band director dude was hilarious. It is kind of a weird thing especially to like when you think at the like at the pro level. I don't know what's more weird the high school level the college or pro pro. I mean i guess it makes sense but it's still weird that that these people make a career out of just being cheerful here the cheerleaders in the professional stadium. The people in the front row. That's my soul sold loud. Yeah and then a certain that shares all right folks like we've been doing since eighteen ninety eight we're going to have these people come out to the middle of the field in between plays during long commercial breaks and they're just going to dance performed for you so you don't get bored. It's kind of a weird thing when you really break it down. But it's pretty cool though what they do. Here's what early craig's all right. We're gonna take the smallest most person on this squad right. Launch them like ten. Nearly a triple d.c. flip in the air. It's dangerous. do this is dangerous. Stop tatting around guys. We're gonna we're gonna do our best to catch you. We're gonna we're gonna take these ripped up guys and they are going to throw you as hard as they can. Just right there yeah. It's interesting to me. I will never forget it. Was it happened once before. They learned their lesson. They had the cheerleaders one time ride with the wrestling team to a tournament up north. It was terrible. I said never again never win. That match digit is a bunch of testosterone field teenagers riding the school riding the bus to the tournament with the cheerleaders. it was it was anarchy. It was pure anarchy man just days anyway on also to anybody for the green bay packer. Organisation listing. Could we get some f- it hot cheerleaders. Please don't have cheerleaders milk. It's like they get them from the local community college and they're not even like it's just. It's like hey. Do you want to cheer you want to do some cheering this weekend. At the packer game. No i want some straight up dallas cowboy cheerleaders. All right. it'd be like cheer cicles. That's be that's probably true. No are cheerleaders up in. Wisconsin are thick all right there already. They are they gotta be called up there man anyway. So that's it you g. l. y. You got by. That's a good well. That is what happened on this day in history. O jedi cable getting that cheerleading thing going. We're going to take a break when we come back. We got more music also. Your comedian for today is fred clete..

"Jer preceded a game of insiders. The people who are political addict and who have personal relationships with longstanding political institutions Take a lot of pleasure and and identify with it and people who have recently moved to the city Of which are many more all the time simply. Don't see the connection. I think we've just make it plain to these people that these policies affect them and if they wanna have a better city. They've got to participate and there's really the it goes across you know progressive versus conservative people. Who are people who are not already involved have a really hard time seeing visibility into what it means for them. And i think we've got to do something about it. It's really the story of up today. While i think it's a big story out getting grant i'm with you and it's a huge and troubling story. Jerry thank you very much for your call. Eight seven seven three zero one. Eight thousand nine seventy you know. It'd be interesting to hear more from dianne wilkerson. She's the former state senator. She's on me tonight by the way right because you know she. I remember seeing her when she was in her twenty and i thought she was going to be the first black mayor boston. She was so talented. She was so charismatic. She got into trouble later on her career but she was behind. This will constitute situation interested. Here what she says about because the obvious choice. I suppose was to pick the acting mayor. But i wonder what she thinks now. Well you know Adrian walker Was only me as i mentioned last night. Who obviously comes with the boston globe. He when the kanda effort which he saw as a pro. Johnny campbell should get out of the race thing. He called ugly politics. But there's another way to take it. Which and again. I don't know what their gender was in terms of should some withdraw is organized in that way saints important that our community if you believe that unites behind one candidate. I think this analogy four hundred times. Adrian thought it was a horrible analogy last night. So i'll make it again anyway. Which is what. I made on the radio yesterday. Is i don't know why so. Many people are upset about that strategy. When i heard almost nobody upset when people were saying progresses if they don't think jake can close who became the congress person to succeed. Joe kennedy if they don't believe he's progressive enough he says he is of course. But if you don't believe he's progressive off and all the other candidates are more progressive than unite behind one candidate. Even though it didn't happen. I didn't hear anybody saying that's a horrible idea. That's ugly politics. And why is one acceptable strategy and one is not i really. i know. but that's what this the final racist going to be about. Isn't it progressive. You you know the the line that will use his over gamut can't keep doubling around the edges. We have to get serious about solving problems or the more moderate view which is represented by zombie. Story is going to be the progressive versus the moderate. There are other issues at play to including the urban mechanic thing versus the visionary. There are a lot of great disparities differences between the candidates which i think makes it a pretty interesting race asteroid. Your car. you're in boston public radio. Thank you much calling. Hi good morning. Chest to the issue of The voter turn out to. I think one of the things that we really need to do. Is you know. Make voting habit for people from the very beginning. When i was in high school. The league of women voters came in. And they i got registered that way we used to get time off. We get time off from school..

"Yeah, I'm looking at the updated version of the story from the El Segundo Times. LAPD is investigating. Altercation involving Larry Elder at Venice, Homeless encampment the picture and we just had a gas solid out of Sarah. Who said that the picture looks like Larry slapping her. But he's actually just touching her cheek as a does describe her as a supporter. But again Larry's toward in last long because he's he also going to times described a group of homeless People. Confronted supporters of Larry Elder, but our guests said, though they were, there was the usual. Those activist groups that showed up so, uh, to create mayhem and to chase Larry out of town, so the Los Angeles Times was incapable. Of finding out who they are that they weren't homeless people, but they were anarchists. They belong to those socialist Democrat groups and those street watch groups that just always show up to fight any attempts to end the homeless problem. There. There are subversive, violent group. Remember Echo Park Lake. Remember that night when they decided to clear everybody out? You notice a lot of the people that were left with these activists Daily Times. Wouldn't by now it's it's the same group showing up at all these news stories. It's the same people in Echo Park Lake Jason Joe Buscaino. Chasing Larry Elder. The reporters. Don't recognize these people. The reporters don't ask, who are they? No, because they're kind of on their side. Well, no, they absolutely are on their side. It's at an absolute brotherhood between the reporters. And these D s. A people are embedded in some of the political offices there now running around the street. Threatening. Other candidates. Here's how It was named Julie Wick, The El Segundo Times reporter described A woman in a gorilla mask riding a bicycle through a small white object past Larry Elder's head. The woman appeared to be white Elder is black characterizations have been used as a racist trope for centuries. That's all they did. As far as that that angle to the story As you heard our guest, Soledad said she was yelling the N word and Larry. Yeah, they just said profanities in the Arctic, but Julia Wick didn't hear that. And she couldn't even identify an egg. A small white object. It sounds like she looked at the video, which was made by that spectrum news reporter Kate Kagel. Well, everybody else knew it was an egg. I think so. And it was clearly a white woman. I could see her arms. I mean, Besides this, Julia Julia Wick writes propaganda here. You cannot read her story and walk away knowing what went on Now you listen to, uh Soledad. You knew exactly what was going on. These were crazy people. They had eggs. They had pellet guns. They were planted activists when they knew Larry was coming. Just wanted to run him out of town. They were dropping the n word all over the place. They were cursing, abusive, violent. You wouldn't know that from Julia Wicks story in the L A times. No. You think Julia Wick would interview the woman in the gorilla mask to see you know what point she wanted to make about Larry's visit, but no, no, no interest If I was Larry got run out of town, and that's all that matters. I was a reporter. I want to know who are these people because I assume these public displays. Often are organized. That's just my assumption. I'm going to go in there saying okay, this may be organized. Somebody's funding. This somebody is somebody Someone is disrupting this. They're outside agitators. That happens a lot and our reporters. Have figured that out. The only times reporters never figured they don't want to, or they know they don't want to tell Because they don't want to put The Democratic Socialists of America in a bad light as a as a bunch of racist, violent Yeah, Disrupt? Yeah, Yeah, really insurrectionists. They're trying to interfere. In a legal election. That's what they're going. They're no different than the crowd that stormed the capital. It's the same thing. And again. In the opposite universe. Had Larry been a black candidate running for governor and someone in a gorilla mask and they get him. Oh, my God. Yeah, I don't coverage would be nonstop about the racist. I don't see the hate crime term being used in this story. Plus, she's yelling now we know she's yelling the profanity the n word, too. So on top of that, it's clearly a racist attack. Yeah, now for sure, because the he's the black face of white supremacy. We don't care. He's getting what he deserves. That's right, because he doesn't believe in racism anyway. So why should he benefit from a clean kind of distorted logic Makes your head spin, doesn't it? You're so you're in a maze. It is upside down. All right, We got more coming up. Johnny Campbell beat, you know, keep buying the L A times and get your news there. John and Ken Deborah Marquez. More news. This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated President. Biden has announced new mandates to get more people vaccinated against Covid 19. We still have nearly 80 million Americans. Who have failed to get the shot. And to make matters worse, their elected officials actively working to undermine the fight against Covid 19. Biden announced an executive order requiring all federal employees and contractors to be vaccinated and a plan for large companies to mandate vaccines. He says his plan also increases testing protects the economy and makes kids safer in schools. The news is brought to you by Pacific Coast Termite President Biden is planning a trip to California to support Governor Newsome in the recall election. Newsom's people say he and Biden will be in Long Beach Monday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked today. Why, Well, certainly his supports Governor Newsom remaining governor, vice President Harris was with Newsome yesterday in the Bay Area. Newsome told supporters that they don't vote no on the recall. Larry Elder could be sworn in as governor in a matter of weeks. Other Republicans running against Newsome include businessman John Cox, Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer and state Assemblyman Kevin Kiley. The LAPD says it's robbery Homicide division is looking into an alleged assault on Larry Elder, who is running in the election to recall Governor Newsom as you heard John and Ken, just talking about. Elder was walking near a homeless camp in Venice yesterday when he and his group were surrounded by people screaming profanities and telling elder to get out. What are you with me, boy? Give.

"And which is the priority. Are you suggesting that it's some selfish to be topping. Our own safety without considering forced the safety of others around the world what. I'm not sure. If it's a selfish thing i just think it's a it's natural because we're so used to giving boosters of flu Every winter yet. It's almost natural to think. Well the winter's coming we need to think about boosters for for covert that was well and it's almost an you know and that was kind of the knee-jerk and it was almost kind of expected that boosters will be required but the reason we give a booster for flu every year is because we have a new variant of flu that we're dealing with every year and so we need. It's not okay. It's a booster but it's also a slightly different vaccine every year the targets that new variant that comes along every year and actually what proposing like if they were proposing to boost people with a slightly different version of the. I've seen that's more specific for delta dane. There's a very strong argument to do what we do know that some of the manufacturers are at least some of the scientists that supply the manufacturers with vaccines they are working on on a delta boost in clinical trial is to hopefully that it works very effectively gets outta to once. I think if that comes out absolutely it's worth boosting with that book. Currency were proposing to use a third shot of the same thing that you know and our protection as i you against hospitalization icy entry and debt is as good now against It was back in january against off. And that's what the evidence when. I'm looking at the numbers here for cork and see you. H- h has had an increase in the number of patients over the past week but overall numbers low as of tuesday night last to bear in mind our date. Today's the nineteenth of august have a reason for pointing that out. As of tuesday night. Last there were ten positive patients since you. Hey h two in icu. There were no cases in the mercy. Although one suspected case was under observation now go back to the nineteenth of january gerald. And there i think your point is made. The numbers being reported every day. Aaron comfortably high but the numbers ending open hospital particularly here in karak. I mean in this time in january in karak car you h. Was was pretty much over. Close to being overwhelmed. So we're no. We're nowhere near that now. No we're not. i think you know like i think. That's what's the huge benefit of the vaccine has been yes. If i've seen is not perfect. There's going to be continuation of cases and some of those cases will end up in hospital even if action is but we know for example that approximately ninety five percent of people that are hospitalized or or end up in icu our own vaccinated. So there's a huge benefit for the vice clearly but there will be some that will slip through so even if we have the whole population. Vaccinations and there's circulation virus. Still do some people will end up in hospital. Unfortunately but that's kinda just the nature of these kind of things. I don't think we're ever going to get rid of it completely but very clearly you know. Cases are running at a at a really high level at the moment. But it's not translating anywhere near as strongly as it did back in january into hospitalizations occur. Important obviously though is to get the community transmission down to stop the daily case number. Is that a separate issue from vaccination. You know it's when i think when these vaccines came right. I hope that he would have a dramatic impact on spread of the virus as well but unfortunately with this delta variant. The evidence is becoming stronger now that people that are vaccinated are actually carrying much virus in their knowles as somebody that's unvaccinated vaccinated. So people that are actually are still able to transmit where we saw a chart and again it was the aforementioned johnny campbell. Who showed the chart on his daily videos. A couple of weeks ago he said presently the only and micro the only virus more transmissible then delta variant measles now. You could argue these kinds of things all day long. In the in the world of variety we have these conversations they taught but it's not about analogy in a way i mean i wouldn't get too technical liberal comparing it to other things because people talk for chicken pox while it's suffice it to say that this thing is highly infectious it's much more infectious than the original version. It's also more infectious than the alpha. So it is circulating. But these people might only mildly on. Well if anything you netflix vaccinate yes. That's the point but it's a very fair point to say that we're running a case numbers that are too high. And and you know i. I suppose i get frustrated. When i look at that and i think of as all the other things that we could be doing and should be doing to try and help those cases to to stabilize you know i look at the you know. There was chat on the on the radio last night. And this morning about the entertainment industry and had there not been given a roadmap to open for that. I just i look at with frustration that situations i taught where you know the the knee jerk reaction is to shut down in industry or too close in industry under so badly affected by this when you know this is a battle. That's impacting so many people's lives and we're just as a country. I don't feel or as a government really. We're not throwing the kitchen sink at this thing you know. We're just not doing as much as we could be doing what more could be doing. I think there's a whole host of things i mean. you know. We know for example that the more tasting that we do the more likely we are to pick up people that are infected and the more likely we are to reduce the infectious burden across the country. And so i look at my own my own example. I don't know what it's like in court. But in mead where i live i have to drive forty five minutes to a test center to get tested if i didn't have a car i actually don't know how i get to a test central to get tested so you know for. That's a simple example. There should be attention every town in the country where people could walk for free. No requirement of gp refer them and get tested as often as they want to if they want to do and yeah absolutely. I mean in germany. At the moment people are popping into test centers or in denmark for example. You know at least two or three times a week. Sometimes or or or crm pc are on top of that in denmark. They're doing roughly. Half a million antigen tastes on top of that per week. You know so. These kind of things should be widespread easily accessible and easy months into. They're just. I mean contact. Tracing is another big issue. We have approximately a thousand people employed in contact. Tracing and we're asked capacity with the case numbers were dealing with at the moment and as a result of that. We're not doing proper contact tracing where we should be tracking safer example back five to seven days prior to symptoms occurring in someone. We're only going back. Two days symptom as thousand a day or two to. They shouldn't be all we have three or four thousand people working on you know. Why don't we have hundreds of people working in public health. You know where eighteen months into this and we know the phone playing defense against is contact tracing public health. I want you know we're kind of just. I feel almost sitting back and accepting arising cases and hoping that the vaccine will will protect us and the reality of it is is that there's a whole whole for things like improve public health improved contact. Traffic improved use of whole genome sequencing to track track cheese transmission. That we're just not doing. And i just feel so frustrated by it because it as i say industries and everybody personally gets impacted by this so much when you know. There's so many things we cope doing that would help us Life has been tough for the last eighteen months it's getting a little easier particularly for those vaccinated and we're grateful for that job but i think your message to to government is. You can.

Think about the role that he played in shaping this now famous television character. You know it's funny. Is that so when. I call donny to ask him about the fact that jason had been missing him in interviews about out this you know how he'd sort of inspired ted lasso in various ways and donna told me he goes. You know it's funny you know. I've only seen jason one time in the last twenty seven years one time in the early two thousands. Jason was home in kansas city and he was hanging out with brennan. Current is good friend and former high school teammate. And they dropped by and saw donnie. At a summer camp that he was putting on and just caught up said hello. Donnie just remembered that he had a notebook pocket. Nothing broke down. I had i'll be a will was and he didn't. He didn't ask him like. Hey what did you just write down. He just remembered he goes. I don't even know what you wrote down. But i just remembered him making a note as they were were chatting and that and that stuck with them. But i actually you know it's funny. I found it more. Almost poignant that jason really doesn't necessarily have a relationship with this guy in any sort of meaningful way. Because that's i feel like that's sort of how it is for a lot of high school coaches in high school teachers and the people that are in your life at that point you know you you learn things from him you go to high school you. They're incredibly important people in your life and you never forget them but most times. You don't necessarily keep up with your teachers from high school. Your coaches and jason. Donnie are kind of the same way. Well lastly rushton what sticks with you from this story about the types of influence that coaches can have on young athletes. As i was writing the story and reporting the story. i just started to think about donald. Campbell is one coach who coached jason. Today is for a couple years in the early nineties in he. Jason has gone on to be very successful as an actor and he still remembers this guy and it just made me think about all of you know the relationships. I've had with coaches over the years or teachers or the people that are in your life at that point for a very short time and it was the first time you heard about teamwork or the first time you heard about hard worker. The first time you heard about a certain lesson that you know you learn when you're playing high school basketball and at sometimes you wouldn't think much of how often do you think about your your coaches from way wack win but a lot of times. Some of those people are the most important people in your life. I think might be so sure that you're one. Sometimes you get it out there you want. Well russ and thanks so much for joining us today. So i think ted so is it shouldn't be a serious character right. This is a college football coach from kansas. Who is going over to coach. Manage in the english premier league. The whole setup feels absurd. Which i think is why the character seems to work so well because this guy is a. He's folksy. he has these things he will say. I mean come on. Sam was more open than the jar peanut butter on my kitchen counter. That's right y'all don't know. I like to keep the peanut butter open. That way whenever i walk back and just stick my finger and yet he has this inner goodness that i think when when he comes across people that they seem to react to you coaching football make. You are a legend for doing something. So i mean it's meno murdy well you know. I've heard that tune before. But here i am still dancing. Ted last. So is the quintessential mid western kindness guy. You know a guy who wants to do well in the world treat other people the right way and just kind of live life with optimism and kindness and all those like grape characteristics that we'd all like to have. Yeah i think it really is his relentless optimism. That wins you over in the show. Is there a particular scene in the series that you think really captures that element of his personality. You know i was thinking about this. In the first episode. He's gone over to england. He's been introduced to the media. He talks to the team. And everybody's obviously it's not going well and then him and coach beard kind of redecorate the office. They put up the john wooden pyramid of success. They put up. All these american touchstones like muhammad ali poster in the miracle on ice poster all in the office. And then roy kent the kind of the you know. The quintessential english footballer. He comes in the office and he calls him ronald mcdonald and i think he uses an expletive and then he leaves the office and ten lasso goes he thinks may now wait. We win them over if he thinks he's mad. Now wait until we win them over. There's something about that line. Something about the manner in which he is that you can't get enough you can't like not love. The guy russin jason's today kiss has talked in interviews about some of the influences for his ted lasso character. And it's it's real mishmash of legendary coaches like john wooden bill self liverpool coach jurgen klopp even but he's also mentioned someone who is certainly not as well known my high school basketball coach johnny campbell at china's west. He used a quote a lot of his stuff Someone who you actually tracked down in person. So who is donnie campbell. So johnny campbell is jason. Today is high school basketball coach college football and college basketball player at kansas state university before that he grew up in a tiny town in the middle of kansas lyons kansas. He went on became a math teacher and a high school basketball coach at a number of different places in the kansas city area. For most of the nineties he was at a high school called shawnee mission west. Where jason's today kaz went to school. Kinda the quintessential classic suburban high school basketball coach. Like even. if you've never seen donnie campbell you probably know. The person i'm describing. No think big suburban high school. What does that basketball coach look like. That's kind of what donnie campbell. Looks like you recently. Wrote the donnie campbell's coaching style was actually as opposite of ted lasso. As it gets to lasso in the show is not a yeller. But donnie campbell. Apparently was high school basketball coach. Who was a big yellow and screamer would get spit on his lip when he'd be yelling at off scary. So how exactly did donnie campbell influence. The ted lasso character. Yes so donnie. Campbell was sort of pattern more off of maybe like especially in his earlier. Days as sort of a bob knight character. You know the the old indiana coach you yelled. A lot was very intense all about discipline but he had a couple of things that rubbed off on jason number one was that he loved quotes and he loved john. Wooden quotes coaching. I would always have a quote of the day some life motto about make each day your masterpiece or drink deeply from good books. Or you know. These quotes about success in competitiveness in enthusiasm and all these sort of cornerstones of life. You had these sort of sayings. This was not jason zero but another player. That played for donnie later in the two thousands. They mac linemen remember this sort of line that he said one time he was like remember man. He's like he got to get enough sleep. Can't thousand and fly with eagles morning it was just a a one liner. You would drop every now and then you can't who would the els at night and fly with the eagles. In the morning you know other players that played a former remembered like he was the kind of guy like you know if you looked a little too relaxed and practice he might come up to you and say. Hey are you okay. Do you need a bag of chips you know like. Can i get you any popular. Can i get you anything like you. Okay here like he's sort. It was just that kind of guy who had these sort of country homespun words of wisdom for the guys and you mentioned the john wooden pyramid of success that appears in ted lasso's office on the show. That's apparently something that jason today kaz learned about from his high school. Coach johnny campbell. Can you tell us about the pyramid of success and the impact that it had on jason john wooden pyramid success. Was this sort of legendary kind of his way of coaching. His kind of guide to life each block in the pyramid has another thing to go by. You know there's like industriousness and enthusiasm in all these important kind facets in in both basketball but also life and so donna campbell would also teach that and you know years later down the line. Jason snake is he goes on Junior college basketball at fort scott community college gets into comedy starts off in improv. In as it gets into improv comedy. He realizes that actually what he needs to be doing to these these actors. He's working with these other. Comedians is to be teaching them about john wooden pyramid success. I taught the pyramid of success to improv teams. I bring in a laminated poster. Like a frigging g. p. e. teacher and with a with a wet dry dry array race marker and just kind of like go through and be like why is it. Wise this matter rushing you also wrote about something that ted lasso says to a reporter at one point during the show. One of ted lassos classic. Bits of wisdom. I guess for me. Success is not about wins and losses is about helping these young films. It'd be the best versions of themselves on and off you. Do you hear some of donnie campbell's influence in that scene. I think so but i mean i think i think i hear you know every players coach every kind of high school coach who is trying to reach kids.

I don't know where we're going with that. Yes beca berman. Bourbon dot com. And of course berman branding dot com is. My hero is my social media guru and We're using her for my daughter's bought mitzvah logo on your on your son. So what we have got gone all in to go all out on becky berman and branding as well. That's what it's all about. She designed b bone. Daddy logo that you see bone. Daddy emerge coming. We've got some merge coming in. I think in the next year as we prepare for season six. It's gonna be our year at date is gonna be our year. What of the last two years been. Just warm it up the engine. Dad's just that's just kind of been the precursor to we're we're gonna we're gonna have merch. We got a book forthcoming talking about now for about three years so You know we got a lot more material matter work with so that'll be good coach. You were talking about sports season. It's a good time to be a sports fan in a sports dad because basketball is ending baseball in a lot of the spring sports have started some of these sports. Now don't even have season like soccer. I know kids who play soccer. They're playing at all year round doors doors in the fall. Adam don't get me started on year round soccer. don't get me started soccer and softball. I know you're you're a softball dad's but let me ask you this. You know what happens when your kid has an injury and you really want them to get back on the field or on the court but their kid just isn't ready. You know parents like that. Just oh my gosh It's it's the worst and You know you see these professional athletes who get surgeries. Have these injuries in. It seemed to turn in two or three weeks and play and what parents don't realize these professional athletes get twenty four seven support for doctors and trainers and not just any the best in the in the world and so for many parents who've invested you know tens of thousands of dollars and the kid gets injured their sophomore year That somehow have this belief that their kids go and one day just Looking for a way to get there investment back ended. It's the worst. The pressure coaches pressure trainers and of course kids ends up hurting him or herself. Even worse seen it far too. Many times i was gonna ask you. Have you seen not a lot especially as a softball coach times. Yeah not so much. Stop law but not. I've been on the youth end. Set us up with baseball. Having coached at all levels through high school a division. Three college Would which the worst part is that. You have parents who in baseball the worst thing dude for a kid who's a pitcher's teach the curve ball so it's great right is coaches that. Have these kids pitching curve ball at age. Twelve even ten bright the throwing curve. Curveballs striking out kids. They're winning championships. It's great but what happens. But at time they're fifteen or sixteen their elbows are shot. Kwami johnny campbell. They they cannot pitch anymore and all that time. The congratulations won all these trophies..

"I think rob wants the answer to be him. Yeah. He posed a question. Which is why it can't be him. I think, yeah, go ahead, Tim. So when I think of sauce, I think of like just pure ego, just like nothing, nothing else that fuels them except for their own ego. I'm going to go out on a limb. I'm going to say it's Johnny Campbell. I think and I love Johnny. I really do. I think Johnny's great. I love having Johnny in the league. But if there's somebody who gets gets his grind off of what other people are kind of maybe chatting about. Now he's left the chat and done his own thing. And maybe he's matured a little bit more and is less less involved, but I think Johnny loves to know that people are talking about him, his team, what he's doing, what he's moving. And so that would be my pick. Yeah, I think that's a good pick. I don't think it can be rob because I don't think. It's basically what I said about Bryce Harper the other day. It's kind of put upon by him. And there's stuff falseness about it. But like I still appreciate it. Like I still want, I just don't want it to occur. But like, I don't believe that it's completely authentic. Whereas with Johnny, yeah, he does want people talking about him. He probably in some capacity likes the fact that we talk about him so much even though he no longer sees. On a day to today basis, what we're saying about him. And, you know, I think it probably fits him the most. I think, you know, one of the other candidates that maybe it would be would be like an Andrew, but like if you think back on Andrew's victories, he celebrated about as much as Tom Kaiser. So like, that's why I think it can't be him. It's more of a quiet smugness with Andrew. So yeah, I think I would probably go with John too. When I think of saucy, maybe I have got a different conception I worry about. I think van der Poel might be the sauciest player in my mind. The way not as much of a player. I take that back, but as a commentator in the group thread. Speaking more ways of cutting down rob after maybe that's true. And so it's not a tense filled ride to the second floor, but you throw a mask on No, but I wish at that point that I had a mask on when I leave the building. I do wear a mask just for situations like that, because it's the rule here, too. I think yeah, and it's also the right thing for another guy like that. I mean, you made it this far. I don't want to get the wolf flew at this point right now. Nobody wants to be the last man to die on the battlefield. All right, all right. I still don't wear a mask, but I know but you don't care.
