Morant told them he is taking a break from social media. I'm geffen coolbaugh.

"Often as possible because for me, what we do, you have to be able to tell a story and make people believe. And I tweeted about this the other day where I said, it's a very special thing to make people believe. You know? To truly make people believe, it's undescribable feeling that just when you really reach that level, you know like, all right, we have something here. But I feel like the best way for you to make people to believe is to tell them the truth. So some people can't act, you know? They just can't. So it's hard to sell you something that you don't buy it. You're like, yeah, no, this is fake. You know, the fact that we're talking about whether it's real or not, the MJF does is exactly how it should be. How everything should be. We should always be like, man, I don't know. You know, because now because the curtain's been pulled back so far, we all think we know. We all think everything is one way, specifically. So if anybody has us guessing, that's a great thing, you know? For me, I always try to make it personal. You know, the story between myself and John Morrison right now that is going on in Vegas. I've made that story personal to the degree where, you know, he was the first mecha champion many years ago, 5 years ago, and he beat me and cage for the belt. And I really wanted it, you know? And what happened before he left? He puts me through a table with Carrie and cross and then he dips, you know? They really calls he dips. And I thought it was very strange that it took me 5 years to get to this belt, but now that I have it, you know, he's the first to congratulate me. Cool. You know, that's my childhood idol. We know this, but the reality behind this is I didn't forget that you put me through a table and I didn't forget that you also said that I was everything that was wrong with pro wrestling. I don't understand that. What I also won't do and I said this in a promo, I won't be the one to just have him come through and walk back now. The WWE isn't there for him anymore. I said he left the place second to The Miz and he's going to come back to the Mecca to play second to me. And that's how I truly feel, you know? He took everything that I wanted and then just walked away when someone else called. I wouldn't do that to the company. So I have to make it personal. I have to make it as authentic as can be because it's cool to just say you're wrestling your idol, but that's not enough. There's a respect thing that I also have to tell this story and you disrespected me. And I have respect for him as a performer, but Chris bay, the champion, the mecha grand champion, I can't let you just take this. And I can't just forget what you said just because I like you, just because I idolized you. It doesn't work that way. So I have to make it real in order for people to understand, like, okay, this is more than just an idle rival type thing. This is, this has some real weight to it to him at least, even if John doesn't take it serious on my side. I take it very serious, and I want people to know that because they have to feel that. They have to feel what I felt watching him just give the belt away and leave. When I wanted it so bad, and when I hustled for it so bad and got put through a table for no reason, you know? Why did he put me through a table? Little old me at the time put me through a table for no reason. No. It's real, man. You got to feel that. So I always try to put it in my work if I can, you know? I always try to make it feel real, as real as possible, because if it ain't, they won't feel it. Shit, I felt that. It's like everything right there. Before you ask the next one, Tommy brought up Kofi mania, now I gotta ask because you brought it up. Being a spectator to watching that whole thing transpire. Can you give some insight, this was something for us as viewers, obviously, especially as African Americans. We're watching something happen that never happened before. And yeah, like tears. Like, that's how it's MVP about this. I saw you cry dog. I cried the other day watching that video. In this video gets me. So you're watching this transpire. Can you kind of walk us through like, when this was truly a thing? And you seeing this happen, how did it make you feel? It was fascinating to me because I think at the time Kofi had been in for 11 years. And you think about guys that are, you know, they're not 6 5, 265 pounds. They look like Roman Reigns. They look like John Cena, The Rock, et cetera. It's difficult for those guys to get over. And Kofi for just about all of his career had been just a baby face that everybody loved. And no problem with it. So it took ten years, 11 years for him to earn the respect of the audience to the point that when he substituted in that chamber match, everybody was like, wow, he belongs here. And to the surprise of no one internally. It was like, yeah, Kofi's a brilliant wrestler. Everybody knew he was capable of it. His promos his character work, everything about his personality, who he is as a man. I'm like, yeah, of course this fits. And then you see where the story starts going, and that story hinges so much on that great heel run, Daniel Bryan had Rowan to back him up, you know, just kind of turning the B plus player or story that he lived years ago on its head, but not making it racial, that was really difficult.

"And you know, that's kind of also in split boards became a thing. Meaning like, you know, people were splitting their own out of kits. Like literally kids. They literally using a saw down the middle of your old board, you know? And then using glue or some other sort of adhesive, sort of try to last longer. Usually I couldn't even get a full season out of one, but so we did, yeah, we had kits. And then I had a volley board and anyway, and that process I was, I started taking some guide courses, got super into it. I thought I wanted to be a guide, and I was fully on that path. I went and worked for points in north tally for three seasons. Just surrounded myself with a lifestyle and put myself in it and pretty much was everything was driven by snowboarding. To go to Alaska, I can never go on my own. I could never afford it, you know, whether it was the time or the money I didn't have either, usually. And so I had the opportunity to go work there, and that was perfect. Is that it got me up there. It got me with people that were living the lifestyle. Also, and it got me this helix and it just opened this whole kingdom. And so I got to thank Kevin Quinn for that. Jessica Quinn points north Halle, and that's also where I met a lot more friends and people that were guides and aspiring guys and all those things. And so, you know, beyond like the coursework and book work, and actual training I actually got to get real world experience applying the skills with supervision in the beginning too, which was a really big deal. I didn't know how important the mentorship was at the time. Yeah, and then, you know, I got some more guiding work locally, kept going with some courses. I met a lot of really good mentors along the way in Tahoe, guys like Glenn poulson and John Morrison and Jeremy Jones, yeah, you know, and guys like Michelle Cody Townsend and Michelle Parker, they were just old friends. We grew up like rat packed together kind of like when I was like 17 or 18 and the Michelle was a little bit younger. Cody's the same age and you know, I try to keep up with them essentially Cody at this positive skiers. They're super rippers, like locals, you know, grew up here, like Cody, George jelly, and then of course at least was there too, and they're all incredible. And I was lucky because I kind of just barely keep up with a couple polls and, you know, them pushing me along to help me along in some traverse, and things like that. I was able to keep up and kind of full throttle. It was gnarly, but I just got so much better really quickly. I got to learn the mountain from these kids that grew up here. Anyway, we just built a friendship, and more importantly, and then we started kind of learning all these skills that I was talking about together. Cody became top ten skier in the world for whatever like two decades or something, you know. And for sure, more than ten years. And yeah, Michelle is probably the same. Ingrid Baxter was here at the time and anyway, it was like, we were just doing it. And we all had other mandatories..

"What's going on there? Why do they have so many big men? They traded for Jared Allen. They're probably going to give him a big contract. What was there a position? I mean, right now I do think that we're entering kind of a stage in the NBA where really doesn't matter what position you play, or even kind of your height weight, et cetera. I just, what are your skills? But was that maybe an issue with mobile? Where did people kind of project him to play? 'cause right now he's like, almost in between a foreign of 5 he's kind of a, I don't know, it's hard to put him in a box, certainly. Yeah, I mean, he's a big. I mean, I think it was probably just a referendum. Not so much defensively, because I think everybody, I don't know, everybody doesn't do anything, but I think for the most part, you know, there is some agreement that defensively, we all kind of knew what he was going to bring to the table in terms of being one to move his feet. Guard the perimeter, alter a ton of shots, obviously he's not like a big, hefty strong guy, but it matters less because no one really posts that much in the MBA. And he's just so long. His instincts have always been so good. So I think it was more a matter of if you thought he could play with Allen, it was probably more a referendum on what you thought his offensive skill set was. But for me, seeing a guy who could really pass like him, who had potential to step out and shoot, which I think he eventually will be pretty consistent at. And to sort of do a lot of different things. I never thought it was going to be that big of a deal. Now, these things always work or don't, and Jared Allen is really, really good at what he does to, which is part of why it works, right? If it was a lesser 7 footer, it might not be great. But I think part of the appeal with Evan was always that defensively, he would give you some flexibility and he can also step out and play in the perimeter. So to me, that was probably a big part of why he was number two. And I remember watching I went back and during the pre draft cycle, I watched some rookie year Tim Duncan clips and I was like, that's kind of familiar. Not sure if it's a Duncan. No, no, no, I don't want to sound like, oh, I thought he was Tim Duncan. But I think there were some similarities in terms of just movement and broad skill sets. So having said that now, why not rank in one? I probably should have. But. Let's not pretend that the cade Cunningham has been awful or a bust or something like that. He's obviously a very good player. And I mean, this is going to play out over years, right? John Morrison always does. And Zion, you know what I mean? Like after The Rookie year, everyone would have taken Zion Williamson and now maybe it's a little bit different. It's gonna play out. No, no, and look, and I guess while we're here, I mean, the thing with Kate is always part of why he's so special is he makes guys better, but it still matters like the level of support and talent that he has. Of course. So like I never expected Kay to come in and lead the pistons to like a playoff revival. I didn't think I would do that in Cleveland either..

"Above his head. And then just lightly drops him on the apron. Yeah. Making it look undeveloped stating. I thought he was going to throw him over the top rope, which that would have been slightly cool, but then starts getting fired up like he's going to fight on this. He takes off his sweater, whatever. Yeah. And then they immediately cut to highlights of Damien priest and T bar from last week. Right. They're like, oh, Randy Orton's yeah. What the fuck just happened? Monkeys in the truck fucked up. And Jordan being afraid of omas, didn't he challenge almost to a match a few weeks ago? I think so. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. You know, it's funny you said that Randy Orton smoking that riddle weed. Yeah. And I was thinking of, you seen a grandma's boy, right? Of course. Yeah. You got any of that deer weed? Now all I can think of is you got any of that fucker dare weed. That's what they're smoking. They're smoking the fuck a deer weed, probably. Yeah. All right, next, so we have Damien priest versus T bar. If this match sounds familiar, it's 'cause it happened last week and we were there. Last week. Again, there's nothing wrong with doing matches, but when you do the same match every week, you know, like Kofi says. Rematch after rematch after rematch after a rematch after playing match AW will do rematches, but they'll spread it apart. Like, they'll have a match then three or four weeks later they'll have the rematch. Correct. Not every fucking week. It's funny story, so, you know, we live in Houston. I have a brother who lives in Providence. Last week, in Houston. Yep. Rob Providence this week. Somehow we both saw the same match. I mean, come on. Yeah. Two separate cities, two separate weeks, saw the same match. No, this was a no DQ match, Eric. Oh, wasn't completely different. This was the better one. Yeah. They got the better one. Man, I guess so. T bar hit priest with a kendo stick so hard that the kendo stick broken half and then he had like welts and bruises already forming on his stomach. And then in the end priest snaps again, just like he did last week. He beats T bar with a chair, and then chokeslams him off the apron and through a table. Right. That's not enough, though. No. Choke slam through a table? Yeah, that's not enough. Yeah. Obviously apron down to a table on the floor. What Jimmy Smith called the final reckoning for the final reckoning? Did they really change the name? No, that's the last time he's going to use that move. Yeah. It's the last one. The final final reckoning. Shit, so that's a shame. Yeah, no. After the match, Apollo Crews comes out with commander Aziz and he basically tells priest, I will be the next man to lose to you. Yeah. He also know what's going to happen. He also act like, what do you say? This was a new territory? Yeah, like when he first showed up on raw a few weeks ago, he was like, commander Aziz, so this is Monday Night Raw. Looks just like SmackDown. Wow. Yeah. That's exactly, yeah. Right, exactly. Yeah, this isn't a new territory. Yeah. You're still in WWE. You haven't gone anywhere special. Yeah. Backstage, Reggie talks to John Morrison, who's still meditating. But then our truth, bear hugs him from behind. Like, how is art truth one every single 24 7 title? Right. There's one move. Roll up. The roll up. Why would you even try something else? This time he bear hugs. He's literally distracted talking to someone. Right. You reach under, grab the crane. Roll him up. Holding onto the crank. That way he's immobilized. Yeah. This time he bear hugs him from behind, I guess, threatens to rape Reggie? Sure. Like, what's it gonna be? But of course Reggie escapes tozawa and drink maverick. Parkour chase him to. Yeah. And then the three of them argue. Right. Like, you have to figure out your G yeah. Also, so terrible. Morrison's like the original like parkour guy in WWE. Yeah. Why didn't he out parkour Reggie and attack him or roll him up or something? 'cause even jobber John Morrison wants nothing to do with flavor. This was like before I leave for Dancing with the Stars if they try to give you that 24 7 title run the other way. Yeah. That's like you winning that belt means you're like soon to be future endeavor. Yeah, pretty much. Like you lost your R truth. Unless you're our truth. We're curious as our drew Gulak. Yeah. But still, it's not. It's not good. Yeah. Our truth threatens to break up with tozawa and Drake maverick. Yeah. They're stable? Yeah. They're the hunt club. They hunt for that title. All right, main event time, Kevin Owens versus Big E, backstage before the match, Seth proposes to Owens, say, how about I help you be big tonight? And then when I beat Big E and become WWE Champion, you'll get the first opportunity. Yeah, because we still have to say opportunity. But of course, Owens turns them down. So we know what's gonna happen? Yeah. Mid match Seth Rollins comes out so we can go to commercial. 'cause anytime someone comes out mid match, it's just, oh, let's go to commercial. Right. It's more clever than what they did, you know, a year and a half ago where they restart the match when every match was two out of three falls. Right. Oh my God. Every single match on the card? Yeah. It's a two out of three falls pay per view. Good God. Don't remind me of that. Sir. Yeah, in the end, punches biggie in the face when the ref wasn't looking. Owens goes for the pin, but Big E counters and wins the main event with a roll up. Yep. I don't know how many that is. Seems like a lot though. Yeah. I feel like I've been snapping my fingers a lot this week, right? Too many times, snappy pisano over here. Yeah. After the Met, and that's the thing like AW might have like one a week. Yeah. And I get so annoyed because WWE has made me hate roll ups. But actually like the Serena deeb sheet a match, like that was like a roll up, but it was actually like a good way to end the match. Right, yeah. Like it was. If it is necessary, not just like an easy out. Just all the fucking time constantly the same thing over and over. That's what I hate about it. It's also what I hate about the suicide dives. The fact that everyone does it. Like if for some reason, like rock in Austin, we're in a tag match against each other leading up to a match. Yeah. Austin didn't roll up The Rock. No, hit him with a fucking stunner. Of course. Yeah. Like, the worst thing about the performance center was that they trained all the wrestlers to do the same move set. Right. Everyone does the same moves now. That's the problem with the performance center. Yeah. Now you're just like a factory cookie cutter. Yeah. No one could have different styles or anything like that. So after the match, Owens tells biggie, hey, I didn't know Seth hit you. And then he challenges Seth to a match for next week, so we're gonna get Owens and Rollins again. Yeah. This is the third feud. This is the third time they feed it. I guess. And it's all. Hold on, no, the first one, they feuded, Owens was the heel because he was universal champion. Then they feuded again when Seth turned heel and joined the AOP. Okay. Then they like feud another time. That was their mania match. And this is another feud. But you know what this is. Again, Owens has inserted himself into someone else's someone else's feud. Yeah, yeah. Like Owens is the buffer to keep the other guys away from each other. Yeah. Like they just take turns fighting Owens. So then Owens apologized to biggie over and over. He's like, I'm sorry..

"It depends on your sense of humor, I guess. I get it. I don't know anything about it. But so he does some wrestling. Yes. He's also an F9. The last Fast & Furious movie. Oh, fair enough. Okay, so he's in a big blockbuster. He kind of things. And are there so who are your favorite guys working today? Let me see. I like A.J. Styles. By the way, before we got, but I forgot to send you any sort of prep. So agent styles? A, J styles? A.J. Styles. I'm a fan of him. What's his jam? He's actually just kind of a normal dude who does a lot of high flying stuff. Oh, he's just super athletic. He's sick. Yeah, he's super athletic. And he's not the most what's the most athletic guys probably ricochet, who is in the right circumstances is absolutely spectacular to watch as is John Morrison. The athletes that they have now are miles of head of what of that leads of yesteryear for sure. That's the one thing that wrestling has improved on. For sure. And I could just run a bliss to people and from that. But styles Shelton Benjamin, who's he used to, he was Brock Lesnar's roommate, and he is one of the best athletes ever to race a wrestling ring. It's ridiculous. So he's in his 40s. His name's Shelton? Shelton Benjamin. Yeah. Okay. And so when you say athletic, are they doing? Because you know, here's how little I know about wrestling. But they're jumping off the cords off the ring thing. And so they're doing that. They're jumping into each other. They're jumping over each other. Yeah. Are they also like what is the spectacular? What's the specky kind of stuff that they're doing? What's the spectacular physicality of an A.J. Styles or a Shelton Benjamin? Or a guy with an awesome name like ricochet? That's a great name, by the way. Good call. Wow. I wish that, man, what did ricochet, ricochet did some oh, okay. This is a simple one to describe. Okay, so it was a match. It's a lighter match. Basically the winner has to climb, you have to climb a ladder to get this suitcase off from that suspended like 20 feet in the air, okay? So you have to set up a ladder with 6 other dudes trying to kill you. So it's absolute car crash. Right. That sounds like a game. Anyway, so that sounds like a like an obstacle course. It's almost like it's almost like a giant erector set with our Legos or something, because people will set up ladders and different spots, spots, and you were like, well, what were they going to do with that? And they'll come back to it and use it in a way that if you've watched it enough, it's like, oh, I saw that coming..

Any wishes they could be as confident and sexy and a bad. I was like, providing tire off. Geez. Wow, you know, you take one step forward and like three back. Yeah, like come on. What was this? Well, you're not the rock. Oh, like that's something The Rock and pull off. Yeah. You're not the rock, bro. Go back to being the bad guy. Yeah. For a little bit more serious. Yes, like no one likes storytime, withdrew or new home, you know, with your fucking sort comes out with the sword and like that was the cool entrance when he first did it. Right. But now there's a plastic Rock on the stage that he puts the sword in pyro goes off and then he takes the sword out, right? Why what what what does what is that? Due at least have the sword in you pull it out and then fireworks, go off, right or wrong. Jam the sword into the stage and the fireworks walk, right? Don't do both. Yeah, doesn't make any and that, you know, they just burned that entrance. Oh, I know. Oh, yeah. I thought it was so cool. The first time you did it was when he won the title on Raw. Yes, but now he's coming out to fight viren schanke with with a bad entrance. Entrance off, just doesn't fit it does. And this goes on for way, too long McIntyre. First of all, should not be a Summer Slam, man. Now it should not at all. Just terrible. Yeah. This whole fucking Feud is I broke off sword. Oh wait, that wasn't really the sword. Present your motorcycle. Oh, that was my motorcycle been on a pay-per-view and how many years, my God and his first one back at home SummerSlam, really? Seriously, second biggest show probably hasn't been on a pay-per-view since he was like the champ, right? Probably just he was the US champ since he wage. W e champion. Yeah, either way that's been like three or four years, right? It's a long time for sure. All right. Moving on. We have an episode of moist tv. Top top right away. Why not? Introduces them is because he wants answers about last week first Johnny drip, drip asmus. What's your favorite movie? And of course, Miss says, all of the Marine movies, I was younger and more seems like oh the dumbass has more than one favorite movie. Now there's literally no news about the game, right? And it's a sponsor like what the fuck? You're gonna get off game and half the roster isn't even going to be on television anyway, it's not even with the company. Yeah, seriously save let go of so many people, 30 wrestlers to select choice. I mean all the money they spent like, oh, we got very wide. We got the feeling. He looks great for the game. Yeah. Oh what? Oh, he's done your entire life. No one's going to buy this fucking game. Know, the last one was so bad that they had to take a year off. Yeah. They had to come out with WWE Smash Bros Battleground, or yeah. I finally played that cuz it was free on the PlayStation Network over like, PlayStation, PlayStation Plus wage. It's garbage extraction. Fucking trap. But, but you can throw people to an alligator. Yeah. Great, get my watching any ways, I mentioned the game because I heard that in WWE, 2K 20 to sneakiness, is going to be an attribute. An Alexa is going to be 100. Oh, wow! Hundreds sneakiness! Wow. So much Skyrim. It's going to be crazy. Yeah, Jimmy Smith is seems like he's turning into Michael Cohen. Yeah, you know, like, it's funny like you have you played like Skyrim or like Fallout stuff like that. I played games like those off. Well, like there is a like, in Skyrim, like my did, my character, all sneakiness like pickpocketing sneakiness. I was so good. I could steal clothes off. Person without them noticing. Like they just be walking. Be like, what's the name wearing pants naked know my neck. So, all right, weird yeah, good Lord. Anyways, Alexa goes after Jose Mari but do drop saves her. New job starts dominating, but then she taunts Lily. Yeah. She taunts the dog doll then they cut to a post-paid Champa action figure. You're just a little man, a plastic, fuck you and then you just like And then but no, they cut to a close up of Lily and she winks? when you say that again, Lily the dog. Winks, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid? Yeah, Roman Reigns would you think I don't watch Raw? Of course. Why would you? How did I forget? So do you drop? Freaks out. And then Alexa gets the win with a wrong. Yep, I'll roll up. How evil. I know how Sinister. Imagine the fiend winning with a rollup. Yeah. That's what she's doing, right? And she's the face because he is a heel dewdrops with her. So she's a he'll so by proxy Alexa's the face with an evil doll and she wins with Roll-Ups. Yes. Got it wrestling. Scientists wrestling science. Oh, Vince you stupid. Fuck. Vince loved it though. Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of good shit. Yeah, in news and rumors dead. Vince being a fuck? Yeah, yeah, she should. Just instead of Lily the dog. Just have the Vince puppet with her right. Sure. Why not. I could just say this is ours, good shed. Such great shape coming to my playground. Next up we have Sheamus versus Rick a stream at a rematch after rematch. Have to rematch after re Mouse. Like I was stuck in the microphones. Dick wage. Oh yeah. Backstage before the match famous confronted. John Morrison for costing him. His match against Amon priests last week even though it wasn't last week, it was two weeks ago, Morrison holds up the drip stick and tells them is he's hurting for a squirting. Fuck you 40 year, old virgin reference o fish? Oh yeah. Shamus warns Morrison, you better get the job done against priests tonight or else you're in for a hell of a drought. As for the match, Ricochet hit a springboard, crossbody to Seamus on the outside, and they landed on the announce table that was very impressive. Ricochet off. A beautiful lionsault that Seamus kicked out of of course, and they didn't call it. A lionsault does Chris Jericho Corey Graves called it something else I've never heard. Yeah, that before. So, yeah, but it's not a lionsault and then of course, Seamus twins with a broke kick. Yeah. After the match, Damien priest comes out and gets in Seamus, his face Seamus acts like he's leaving but then he tries to attack him and throws him out of the ring. You missed the part or you left out the part where a Ricochet jumps off the top rope to do a fucking head, but to a metal mask off and knocks himself out, but I got fucking moron. Yeah, next up, we have Damien Prius versus John Smith. Rematch after remounting after any match with wheelchair Ms. Ringside. Uh-huh presets up for the Reckoning but Ms, scored some with the drip stick smart square and for the first time since they've Doing this Priest, No cells that because it's just water. Yes, every single time before this like right down the water board game getting waterboarded this time, he squirts priest and Priestess like, oh yeah, thanks, I was hot. Yeah, he's like, that's refreshing have. Yeah, here's the Reckoning for the win after the match pre squirts on Jefferson and then he grabs missus Thai, Ms, pushes priest, stands up, and then no one's to know one's shock, right? He runs to the back proving that he's no longer injured. Yeah. So now I'm curious was Ms. Ever injured or did they just come up with this whole thing for months like ever since the zombie memory of the zong match? Yes. It's over. Yeah, out of business and they, you know, they took us, right? Yeah. He still has to hurt business chain, that Cedric got him. So Shelton, Benjamin comes out as the only baby face in this segment and he wants to face Lashley, right, he says, the champ doesn't have time to deal with you too. And then lastly says, I'll fight them both right now. Same time. Yeah. And then he he beats them. He hits Shelton with Goldberg's Jackhammer. Well off. Because Cedric, the Dominator on to Shelton and pins them both for the win, right? He stacked them and wrapped them and clapped him. So this has happened again. This was a rematch. Oh, that's true. After right. After they broke up, they did this like, two weeks in a row? Yes, no or maybe one know, first, they did Cedric versus laughs and then Shelton versus Lashley wage then both of them versus Cedric Lee and Sheldon versus actually. "It's easy to Monday morning quarterback but from your perch were there signs that were missed that that should have been, I guess abided by or should have been greater security at the Capitol than what there was last Wednesday. Well, I haven't been a special agent in charge and handle many large events, especially one event had 250,000 people in a five block area. With no arrests or anything. I understand what they were going through. Leadership has to have leadership of imagination. You have to imagine the worst case scenario first. And plan for that, And then everything else is down from that. And one of the things I I feel strongly that leadership failed the officers. You had officers that were standing doing hand to hand combat. With these demonstrators, some terrorists they were doing hand to hand combat with him, and that never should have happened. They never should have got that close to those officers, and that's a failure in leadership. But you have to let protesters peaceably assemble, and at the beginning, Certainly people were doing that. And then it got out of control. You can understand the flip side of it, which is You know, the leadership thought this was really bad PR. You don't want to have cops with guns drawn. And you know that kind of look in front of your beautiful U. S. Capitol building so you can see how there's that it's that gentle, you know, tug and pull and they came down on the wrong side of it. It looks like Well, what one of the things that you look at, and, uh, law enforcement. We We want to make sure that people express their constitutional right. But within that you also said perimeters. You set parameters that you don't let people violate if you have a enter perimeter, which is a the capital. You should have outer perimeters that that should reinforce. That should stop anything and also allowing on angry mob to march all the way from the White House. Up to the capital I've taken that walk of many times is a lot of short walk. There should have been enough time. Tonto. Look at the mood of this this mob and look at What they were saying and take adequate resources. So again, I think it's it's a failure and leadership imagination Herrick. There has been reports and I don't want to come totally conflict that crowd that was there of writers, but it's been known for a while that the biggest security threat to this country is white nationalists and white nationalism. Having said that, are you surprised to some degree what I perceive as an again I'm no expert, but the amount of restraint And deferential treatment. I felt that some in law enforcement, maybe even the leadership not so much. The men and women on the ground were showing to these folks where I'm thinking. If this was a different sort of people, they wouldn't have shown that amount of restraint. 11 of the things this this group talked about. Bring your weapons come armed. That's a recipe for a really bad situation and I was absolutely shocked. That there were not dispersal devices and in place to break these crowds up and also preparation for if there are individuals in the crowd that armed That adequate resource is air used T O take those individuals out of remove those individuals. But I was very shocked, Uh, at the lack of what I saw over the summer, but I saw the summer was over used. Of police, National Guard and others. And what I saw the capital was not even under use. It was no use of things that should have been used in the situation and again. It's a failure in leadership to anticipate that wish we had more time with you. Eric Jackson. He's a former FBI special agent. The counterterrorism division. Thank you for your perspective this morning. We appreciate it. "For money on the hour on K Away NewsRadio and good luck. It's normally just the point of procedure when Congress certifies the Electoral College is vote count after a presidential election, However, this is anything but a normal political year. That's right. ABC is John Parkinson is on Capitol Hill right now and joins us Good morning, John. Thanks for coming on. It's great to be with you today. Yeah, good to have you So despite all the court challenges we've seen over the past couple of months, saying otherwise. There's a growing group of Republicans who say there was massive voter fraud in the election. Therefore, this was not a legitimate election. How many are there? And what are they planning today? Well in the Senate. We expect 13 senators that are Republicans to object to certain states and in the House, it could be up to 140 that voting. To object to the slates of electors. What they're planning. Today is normally a ceremonial affair. You go and you count the electoral votes that have already been certified by the State House and Senate meet the joint session in the House chamber. We've seen President Trump pressure vice president. Pence will return these results and he insisted he's got the power to do do this, But she really doesn't you know Pence and said that she'll carry out his constitutional duty and you know, I expect him. Not to really break from what the Senate parliamentarian guides him through. But we've seen, you know dozens of House Republicans and many Senate Republicans. Band together in this effort to try to object to looks like at least three slates of electors from three states. Speaking of Mike Pence, I mean, they talked about him being the X factor, but you laid out really where he can't. He's just basically almost there is a ceremonial type of head he's gonna receive, I guess the envelopes and the state that contain the electoral college vote counts and then he reads them aloud. That's how the process works. Correct. Yeah, Marty, I've been in the house chamber when they've done this in 2017 and 2013 and effectively the big envelope that comes and it's past up there as they preside over The joint session, the vice president opened the envelope, reads the results. It's tabulated by members of the House and Senate, and then usually, you know there's no objection or anything, and they just move on to the next state. They do this all enough out of order. Arizona will be the first state that we expect to hear objections from both of senator and a member of the House. Uh, Ted Cruz should object. We believe Toe Arizona, and, um, you know, Like I said, there's three other states, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada that it looks like there's a objections from members of the house, but At this stage. We don't expect any Senate Republicans to join those objections. So this is definitely going to delay the process instead of happening over the course of, you know, maybe an hour or something like that. It's gonna drag on through the night. It could go into Thursday. If there's um You know more senators that the join Republicans objections in the house. But at the end of the day, Joe Biden Not the end of the day. But given this process, Joe Biden will be declared the winner John, do you first see Georgia's Senate results playing into this at all? With both Democrats in the lead in those two races, one has already been called for a Democrat. Does it take the wind out of the sails of Senate Republicans at all? Or does that maybe make the more intense? Well, April. I gotta say that there's real Republican anger right now, especially from Senate Republicans and their leadership. They think that these were two races that they should have just been. Kate walks through them, and you know, we've already seen Raphael Warnock declared the winner over Kelly Leffler and You know the race with David Perdue and John offices so close to call, But office has a narrow lead there right now is they're still about 2% of the vote left to tally. Um, you know, Republicans, I think will look at Georgia's a certain missed opportunity. The president is receiving a lot of heat for this because he's been telling voters that Other votes Don't count. We've been focusing on his own law, saying that the whole game was rigged. He, you know, criticized the covert released bill that both of his Republican Senate candidate said. Going out to support and then he said, you know that he was threatening to veto. It s so they think you know Senate Republicans think that this lowered voter turnout among their ranks and they're really disappointed in the results, and it's really a battle. I think that We'll play it over the next four years is President Trump tries to be an influence on any congressional races heading into the next president, presidential election and waves his own candidacy candidacy for that to ABC is John Parkinson Live on Capitol Hill. Thank you. Thank you. We'll have more coverage coming up throughout the morning. That vote or the process expected to start around 11 a.m. our time 8 29 heading back outside, Sonny. Clear skies out there. But how are the roads? John Morrison.

Explainer 138: What does the Wentworth by-election mean for Australias conservatives?
"John Morrison, deuce wave willing chilly. So the people of the strike in the office of prime minister and all be August Morrison became a strenuous forty. Seventh prime minister in the last three months, something like that. Anyway, it's getting tough to keep up his chances of staying in office long enough to enjoy any redecoration. He may have requested took a significant dip at the weekend when he's party contrived to lose a by-election for one of the safest seats in the country and in so doing to the coalition, they lead into a minority government. I knew there would be tough ties, and there would be great dice today is a tough day, but the great dies are coming. Resulted? I is on liberals not on dive sham. The federal electorate of windless embraces several of the richest suburbs of Sydney, the most expensive city in one of the world's wealthiest countries Wentworth has been a look for the liberal party that Morrison leads since that party was founded in nineteen forty four, you'll reminder that Australia's liberal party is actually straights conservative party and for the liberals ancestor parties all the way back to a strenuous first general election in nineteen o one the MP who've AK aided the seat was Morrison's, immediate predescessor as prime minister. Malcolm Turnbull who as recently as two thousand sixteen, retain the seat with sixty two percent of the vote. So the liberal party should know more lose Wentworth than a strenuous cricket. Team should lose a test match to Greenland bellarusse, but lose it. They have and they're tiny parliamentary majority with it. One, the c would make history and my friends, we have made history. With sufficient time having now elapsed to Dan, those torrents of Sheldon for delays tiers of lofta the questions of how and why must be addressed. The liberals loss of Wentworth is a consequence of hubris. Specifically, the kind of complacency that can sit in when you've held a seat for a hundred seventeen years. The candidate they stood was a solid if uninspiring technocrat, who doesn't even live in Wentworth. Although in Dave shamans defense, few people can't afford to. It's the kind of place where even Malcolm Turnbull splendid. Harbourside pile doesn't seem untoward -ly Austin, Texas, and he'd been reluctant to relocate to the prime minister's official residence because he didn't want to move to smaller house. A contemptible has offered to stay in his fifty million dollar plus homicide mansion rather than move into the official Sydney residents curability house. The prime minister said his own house is closer to his grandson, and that he and his wife will use cure villi flu official functions and that sort of get up that, what do you think? But to criticize the liberals choice of candidate is to say nothing of the monstrous blundered caused the by election in the first. Place, which was the liberal party's decision to oust turn before the end of his term in an attempt to bathe in a more popular newly before the next general election ju by may two thousand nineteen if opinion polls, and now went worth, are any guide. The liberals have committed the Aira recently endemic industry in politics of chosing alita better liked by these Ellas party hardcore than by a bewildered voting public. Which brings us to what might be gleaned from went with choice of new MP. The by election in windward. She is Karen Phelps previously president of the astray in medical association and deputy Lord male Sydney, she stood for Wentworth. It should be made clear as an independent. The world has not turned entirely upside down and the liberals losing Wentworth to labor would not merely be like a stroke. Cricket team losing test match to Greenland or Belarus, but to Greenland or Bila Russa's basketball scored. But it's what Phillips believes and perhaps who Philps is, which suggests that the liberal party might have misjudged the direction in which the wind is blowing. The liberal party has long banked usually correctly on the idea that forest Reagan's economic conservatism and social conservatism of the same thing. The voters of Wentworth are begging to differ VO they are as unlikely as ever to hoist. The scarlet standard. Join a chorus of the Internationale and begin distributing this bay yacht factory workers. They've just elected gay woman who's policy priorities are climate change, and the fate of asylum seekers marooned on the rue industry is offshore holding facility.
