Creativity from Unexpected Places Week

"About those episodes. Will then talk a little bit about what's new on the ear buds blog as well as some sponsor information. First up. Are, ear buds podcast collective recommendations. This week's theme comes to us from Hannah Kiefer and is called creativity from unexpected places. Here's why Hannah chose this theme she writes. Hi My name is Hannah. Kiefer and the theme I chose is creativity from unexpected places. I chose this theme because when I'm credibly stuck sometimes, the best method for me is to choose which seems like a terrible idea and try to create something out of it and with national novel writing month just around the corner maybe somebody else will find some inspiration from listening to these out side the box ideas. Here are the episodes chosen by Hannah for this week's theme along with short descriptions of each one. The first episode of the week comes to us from somebody right this is called an unbreakable Radio Cypher and John Wilkes booth diary in Liverpool. It's twenty five minutes long. And peaceful. Do something about your dad's immigration practices. You feckless home they go low we can. How do you resist the temptation to run up and bring her next biggest terror threat in this? Is Lightman. Most of them radicalized right up to the right. I thought he should have punched him in the face is even if you lost, he insulted your rapist. Summers, he said. Well, what do you got tonight? So I think you should punch him in the face and then gotten out of the race would have been a hero. I'd like to punch him in the face. I said. We're in high school, taking behind Jim and beat the hell out of point. Some people in the face women's last time on actor assassinated President They're still gonna have to go out and put a bullet in Donald Trump. And that's a fact. Look is his character is stabbed to death. Where is John Wilkes Booth? When you need it? I have thought An awful lot about blowing up the White House. A Missouri state senator is under investigation by the secret Service. After saying she hopes President Trump is assassinated. I will go and take trump out to night and everybody from that Cabinet and arrest you. And sadly, the domestic enemies to our voting system are honoring our Constitution. Right at 1600, Pennsylvania. Have they're not going to stop before Election Day, November and they're not gonna stop after election day, and that should be. Everyone should take note of that on both levels that this isn't they're not gonna let up. A montage of Democrats.

"Knows the story of John Wilkes booth killing Abraham Lincoln at the Ford theatre in eighteen sixty five this is not that story this is the story of the original plot years earlier and that plot involves a train the train that was to take honest Abe from his home in Illinois to his first inauguration in March of eighteen sixty one the plot to kill the president who's credited with freeing the slaves and holding the country together was foiled thanks in part to a railroad executive this remarkable story is coming up in our one now I don't believe you can take the train all the way to Roswell New Mexico he can take the Amtrak out of LA as far as Deming Arizona and that's about fourteen hours from there you'd have to take the bus from Deming to less cruises New Mexico that's another four and a half hours and then you finally arrive in Roswell from less less crucis another four hours later on another bus so the lesson here don't take the train to Roswell but we will take you to Roswell in hours two and three when two of the world's preeminent Roswell UFO crash investigators swing by to walk a step by step through some of the key elements of the Roswell timeline Thomas Carey and Donald Schmitt have recently released a beautiful coffee table book titled Roswell the chronological pictorial it's cramped.

"Now. Back to the story on April twenty sixth eighteen sixty five a group of union soldiers cornered assassin. John Wilkes Booth in a barn on Garrett's farm in Virginia after a tense standoff booth was fatally shot in the neck and along with booth died all hope that the south might rise again. The actor turned assassin had identified with the pro slavery confederacy throughout the civil war as the conflict stretched on and more southern soldiers died booth nursed a hatred for the president of the Union Abraham Lincoln. That hatred blossomed into violence in April eighteen. Sixty five confederate general Robert e Lee surrendered to the Union army at Apple. Matic's courthouse in Virginia this signal the end of the civil war but booth couldn't accept the loss. He became convinced that he could restart the rebellion by destabilizing. The United States government. All he needed to do was commit a few murders booth and his conspirators identified three targets. Lincoln Vice President Andrew Johnson and secretary of State William seward each man would be killed simultaneously around ten PM on April fourteenth eighteen. Sixty five of the three planned assassinations booths was the only success but the breadth and ambition of his plan. Led investigators like Secretary of war Edwin Stanton to believe that booth had been part of a massive conspiracy. How could emir actor orchestrates such an attack? Did he have allies among the confederate government or even worse within the Union? Stanton ordered that. The killer be brought in a live for questioning. Nearly a thousand union soldiers were deployed making the manhunt one of the largest in us. History Yankee soldiers and police alike tracked booth from Washington DC across the Potomac River into Virginia and ultimately to a barn on Richard Garrett's tobacco farm but booth refused to be brought in alive. Everton conger of the Sixteenth New York Cavalry. Set THE BARN ON FIRE. But even this didn't deter booth the standoff didn't end until Sergeant Boston Corbett fatally shot him in the neck. Corbett had killed the most hated man in America but he'd also deprived secretary of war. Stanton of the opportunity to question him faced with a possible court martial. Corbett maintained that he'd fired in Self-defense. He argued he'd seen booth lift his weapon and had shot to save his colleagues lives to this day. It's impossible to know whether Corbett genuinely believed compatriot was in danger. He might have just had an itchy trigger finger. Some people even think Corbett killed booth on purpose to silence him and cover up a larger conspiracy around the death of Lincoln. Corbett never had to account for his actions in a courtroom because he'd become an instant celebrity after killing booths the Johnson administration didn't want risk the bad pr of going. After the newly minted American hero John Wilkes booth inconvenient. Death is a key feature of modern conspiracy theories about president. Lincoln's death over one hundred fifty years have passed since the assassination and the country still lacks answers about how it happened as well as any sense of closure..

"It was at that point that i expected someone from disney weather cast members to come down and and hit the stop on the show but they have not yet noticed the problem and so i was starting to get the giggles a little bit my wife was definitely getting the giggles and my dad was encouraging it my dad is the ultimate dad joke dad and i love him dearly but i hear my dad just say i beg them not to make an animatronic john wilkes booth completely inappropriate and hilarious and tragic and hilarious so we're watching as lincoln continues to just stipulate while bent over staring at the floor uh and then it gets to his speech and the music swells and he starts to speak and move is arms more expressively still bent at the waist he does not stand up it's at that point that a disney cast member takes notice and russia's down and hits the stop button which closes the curtains and says mr lincoln is not feeling very well please check back again later today and as we walk out i feel we start making other jokes like is that my face on that penny little jokes about lincoln bent over for some reason and it's unfortunate because that's my wife's i and i impression of the hall of president said sir that's the memory she associates with it and i know for a fact that i can never take her to the hall of presidents ever again and have our take it seriously at all would ever it gets the lincoln she's gonna get the giggles and she's gonna i expect him to stand up a bend over at the wasted just stare at the floor for the rest of the day uh so these animatronic didn't always work perfectly sometimes some part of the system are other would fail.
