"Action stuff involving Kane is totally inconsistent. On the one hand, they set up these really cool kind of tricks whereby Kane who is blind is able to fight amazingly well. So the coolest one of these is in the Osaka scene, where Kane puts a bunch of motion activated doorbells in a room, and then when people walk by motion activated in doorbells, you know where they are so we can shoot them. That's a cool idea, right? He's using the power of sound in order to compensate for the fact he has no sight. But literally the rest of the film he's just Rogue One guy, like same exact character. He's blind, but it doesn't matter that he's blind because he can basically operate just like a seeing person and better. He's daredevil. This movie has both kingpin and daredevil. For action sequences, the entire idea is how do you work within the constraints of reality to create interesting ways for people to do cool things. And if you do it too many times over and over and over, it becomes a video game. And that's true of literally everything. It's like there was a good idea and then they're like, what if we just do it for 20 minutes? So the entire Arc de Triomphe sequence, that's like a 15 minute sequence. The first three minutes are like, this is kind of amazing. And then the rest of it, you're like, it just continuing and continuing. And the staircase sequence is endless, and you know he's getting to the top of the staircase, or there's no end of the movie. Do we really need 25 minutes of him making the same move to throw a guy down the stairs? Over and over, she's keeping throwing people downstairs to the point where it actually becomes comic. What are the action no longer becomes suspenseful or interesting? It actually just becomes funny. So let's finally get to character. This movie is replete with character problems. Replete with them. So let's begin with John Wick. What is his motivation? We start off the movie and his motivation is I'm taking down the table. Interesting, good motivation. By 20 minutes into the film that's no longer his motivation. Now his motivation is to be free of the table. Why? What's he going to do once he's free of the table? He has no life purpose. His wife is dead. His dog is dead. He's got nothing. So what exactly does he intend to do with his life? That makes him such a rampaging killer. Revenge is a good motive, right? That was his motive in movie one. Quasi revenge was still his motive in movie two. And movie four, that was supposed to be his motive, was revenge. And then they removed it from revenge to he wants his freedom, which does require you to ask the question as to why he wants his freedom. And the answer is he doesn't really, which is why Kane ends up killing him. So that's a real problem for John Wick. It means that his character is less interesting in this film, because you don't actually know what he's doing or why he is doing it. Okay, then he got Kane. Kane is the only interesting character in the film. Kane is given a clear motivation. He's doing what he has to do in order to protect his daughter because the table has leverage over him in the form of his daughter. And he has this sort of interesting conflict because he's friends with all the people who he is designated to kill. Okay, that's an interesting motivation. What does shimazu's motivation exactly? To protect John Wick and to what extent he doesn't know where John Wick really is going from Japan when Kane asked him, where is John Wick? He can just say, I don't know, and then he came to be like, okay, bye. Instead, he decides to get himself killed for no apparent reason. Winston's motivations are completely bewildering. He's on John Wick side, but he has his own interests. I do have to point her that Ian McShane. I don't know when he substituted chiclets for his teeth, but his teeth in this film are out of control. He went from having a normal people teeth to the giant white teeth you have ever seen and it's extremely distracting. I'm not sure whose teeth are more distracting. His teeth or kill his golden teeth. He apparently wants his hotel back so he can work for the table again, but we don't understand why, since the table has screwed him. All very unclear. None of the motivations here are particularly clear and they're all kind of a mess. So, in synopsis, this movie is about Kane, the part of the movie about Kane is interesting, but that's because Kane is basically John Wick in John Wick two. He's in the same conundrum. The table is holding him hostage to do a thing he doesn't actually want to do and he's brought into a world he doesn't want to inhabit. And he has to fight his way out. He's the only interesting character in the film. It has some great action moments in a two hour and 49 minute film. It does not have any thrust to the plot. It does not have forward momentum. The villain, the marquise does not make any sense. His motivation doesn't make any sense. John Wick's motivation doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense. I wish I had loved John Wick four. I do. But I have to say, I do think that there is one added piece here. And that piece makes me a little more than a little annoyed. If indeed, John Wick four was originally set up to be John Wick takes down the table, the story. Why did they shift away from that? Why? I have only one answer for you. Cheap money grabs. What they want after John Wick four is that John buck has become a very good franchise. And they're already have filmed apparently a film with Ana de Armas

"Free, ExpressVPN dot com slash Ben YT, protect yourself. The way you should, with ExpressVPN dot com slash NYT get three, extra months free today. Okay, nen, let's get to some logistics. The entire German sequence makes no logistical sense. He goes to this weird nightclub in Berlin to meet with fat bastard, AKA killer, AKA kingpin. Fat guy then proceeds to spend an entirely too long time explaining that he is bad and does bad things and is mean it is bad. He doesn't just kill John Wick for a reason no one can discern. Like when John Wick walks in, I just need to shoot him in the head. In the scene where he fights killer. We learn a couple things. One, killer is sweating profusely while sitting behind the desk. Literally just dealing cards. Second, he can't move amazing, right? Like when he's running away from John Wick, he's very slow. To the point where John Wick can actually like throw things at him and hit him in the back, repeatedly. And yet he is also an unbelievably powerful fighter. In fact, he does more damage to John Wick than anyone else in the film by a pretty fair margin. They have a giant battle in which John Wick and kill a go at it and they're shooting each other. They're smacking each other. John Wick axes about 27 people in the head in that scene, like literally takes accident, hits people in the head and the scene. In the middle of a rave in Berlin with thousands of people dancing and people staring directly at him hitting people in the head with axes, and apparently the dance is just too important. Because no matter what they win, they never stop the dance. They just had to keep dancing forever. Here's what it really starts to go off the rails. Kill up toss him off a 50 60 foot height. And he hits a barrier on the way down, boom, and then he hits the floor, boom. That guy is super paralyzed. He is not just a little paralyzed like super paralyzed. And we know that because we've already seen people earlier in the film, fall down heights and die. Like fall down staircases and be dead. But apparently that doesn't apply to John. Wick falls down, he gets right back up. He is totally fine. Not only is he fine, he fights killer. In fact, killer dies by falling from a great height. So apparently the laws of gravity do not apply to John Wick. That is only one of two major follows that John Wick takes in this film that do not kill him. He also in a later scene jumps out of a fourth story window. And lands on a car, the roof of the car, by like a foot, like full on denting the roof of the car, and then down to the ground, totally fine. Then he gets thrown down a flight of 200 stairs. At this point, by the way, people in my theater were laughing. They're actively laughing out loud. When he gets thrown down the stairs, and he rolls down for like 45 seconds, just rolling down the stairs, and he gets up and Kane says to him, let's go. And he's like, okay. And it basically becomes wily coyote after a certain point. Like, he's just falling off cliffs, and it's like, and then 5 seconds later, he's back up and at him. Apparently, totally fine. All is well. No problem. Whatsoever. He gets hit by like 8 cars. They play Frogger around the arc de triumph. No problem. He's fine. Other people get hit by one car, they're dead. He's fine. Suspension of disbelief is a subjective thing. There are going to be people who watch this review and they're like, well, you know, you expect that John Wick could run through 200 guys and just kill them all and be fine. Okay, yes, but there are certain rules to the universe that ought to apply. The rules ought to apply equally to everyone. In other words, if John Wick gets thrown off a 5th story building. And he is totally fine. And then another guy gets thrown off the 5th story building and is dead. You need an explanation as to why this would be the case. He's wearing a bulletproof suit. Do you understand how useless a bulletproof suit is? Truly useless? Especially because later we find out that he does not have a bulletproof shirt. So I would just like you to examine for a second the fact that here's how it works. The suit covers part of your chest and your arms. The deadliest place to be shot would be like right here in the part the suit does not cover. So if you were going to form some sort of actual garment that would protect you, why not a bulletproof shirt? You know what? That actually protects your vital organs. John Wick doesn't have a magic body. John Wick isn't a superhero. John Wick isn't made of iron. So because there is no consistency in that matter, there are all sorts of logistical problems that arise along these lines. Because of all these logistical issues, it starts to become non suspenseful because there are no stakes. If it turns out that you can be shot, stabbed, hit by a car, thrown off a building, and you're fine. At a certain point you're like, you can't kill the guy. It's not possible to kill the guy, which is why even at the end, everybody was like, is he really dead? Not so sharp. Okay, this brings us to the problems with the action. So when it comes to the action in the movie, again, the action is just too long. There are cool action sequences. Some of the coolest action sequences I've ever seen, actually. But they're all way too long. The Osaka sequence goes on and on and on and on. It has actually about one cool area that actually is interesting. And that is Donnie yen's character Kane. The action stuff involving Kane is totally inconsistent. That's a cool idea,

"Himself a get out of jail free card by murder challenging somebody? Like, he's a murderer. That would be a really stupid way for the table to have a rule. It doesn't make a lot of sense. But here's the problem. The person who informs him of this rule that would allow him to get back in with the table and buy his freedom is Winston. You know who John Wick is known since literally the beginning of the series. Apparently, is Winston. You know who could have told him this in movie two after he killed a member of the table, Winston, you know who didn't tell him that. Winston. So none of that makes any sense. Then you get to the actual plot. He kills the elder in the desert. Then he proceeds to go to Osaka, Japan. Why is he there? Does anyone know? Really, like Bueller, why is he there? Is he there for weapons? Not as big up any weapons. Is he there to get advice from shimazu? Nope, shma zu provides him no advice. Is he there to put together some sort of plan? Nope. He's just there. And coincidentally, everybody from the Marquis place is also there to take down John Wick and so we have about a 35 minute really, really long battle scene that has no actual purpose other than to have shimazu die, which is really only set up so that you can have like a post credit little scene with shimazu daughter and set up maybe the future of the franchise beyond John Wick. That entire sequence is completely useless. You could have just had John Wick start the movie by going to New York and finding out from Winston that he can fight the duel. The entire Osaka sequence is completely irrelevant. Utterly completely irrelevant. Then the idea is that he has to go to Berlin and he has to beg borrow and steal his way into a family. And he has to obtain the tooth of fat bastard. And he brings it to the family, the family sponsors him for the duel. And then he goes to Paris. And then we get an entire sequence of events where the Marquis apparently wants to do all the next morning because he wants to unleash his assassins on John Wick and kill John Wick before they even get to the next morning. And a notice goes out via the marquee that everybody should go kill John Wick. So we're back to movies two and three, because there's a lot of this in movies two and three. So John Wick then goes underground to literally the subway. The bowery king has made his way over to Paris. For some reason, the bowery king, who has access to a boat, like a really nice boat, and can take him through the canals of Paris. Can only let him off in like the very center of Paris. A substantial distance from where he needs to be at sunrise. And he doesn't do this like 15 minutes before sunrise. He doesn't like two hours before sunrise, giving everyone their chance to kill John Wick. I understand, listen, this is all just an excuse to see John Wick kill people in cool ways. I get it, I get it. But plots are supposed to have some sort of substance to them. Okay, finally, they get to the end of the movie, and he gets to this duel. He's not going to be doing the Marquis. He's going to be dueling Kane. Donnie yen. They fire a couple of shots at each other. Kane finally shoots him enough to kill him and John Wick falls down and apparently can not fire any longer at which point the Marquis grabs the gun and excuses Kane and forgives him and Kane is back in with the table and all the rest at which point John Wick has not fired his final shot and he just kills the marquee and that's perfectly legal because he still had one shot left and the marquee has stepped back in to deliver the coup de grace. Was this part of the plan? Was this an accident? How would you forese that the Marquis would do such a thing? And also, if this was part of the plan, why would John Wick allow himself to be shot to death rather than simply, you know, faking being shot to death since he has shot twice before he has shot the third time. Okay, and then John Wick dies. Without having taken down the table, but having taken down a rather oddly effeminate French noble. And that's the end of the movie. Now again, I don't think John Wick is actually dead. I think that entire conversation is meant to leave a way out. Is he in heaven? Is he in hell and then they all laugh? So probably he's still alive somewhere. Maybe that's John Wick 5. Maybe John Wick 5 is that it's gonna be a big team up of everybody to take down the table. And that might justify part four, but part four is supposed to be the conclusion, then again, the entire plot is driven wrong. Well, folks, the entire table is keeping its eye on John Wick, but what if there was

"Long. Return of the King was three hours and 20 minutes long. The entire wagnerian ring cycle is not nearly as long as this movie. I mean, one thing, if the movie was just chock full of plot, if there's a lot happening, but there really isn't. It basically was just the director of the film. Decided that he was in love with the action sequences. And let me tell you, the cinematographer and the choreographer. Those are the guys who earn their money on this film because every fight scene is 20 minutes. Every fight scene should have been about 6 minutes. And listen, I love me a good radical violent John Wick killing a bunch of people seen. I mean, that's great. I really enjoyed the first two movies and a half. But these scenes go on forever. And the body count at a certain point actually gets numbing because there's so much of it. John Wick will be in a scene and he will he'll take out the first 5 guys. You're like, oh, I really like how he took out those guys. And then we'll go on for another ten minutes with him just taking out faceless guys using very close to identical moves. And it stops being amusing at a certain point and just starts to get monotonous. So we're going to try to break down this review into four particular areas. Area one, plot problems that I have with the movie. Area two logistical problems that I have, just things I couldn't overlook in terms of suspension of disbelief. Three, the action itself, and four character problems. So let's start with the plot. If you don't know the John Wick story, one is about John Wick being a former assassin like the greatest assassin on Planet Earth, he has a dog, given to him by his late wife, the dog is killed by son of a Russian mafia, so he takes revenge kills everybody. So movie two is about worldbuilding. He is now dragged into a broader conspiracy by people he kind of owes from this world and the world of the table. The table is the grand overarching scheme by which very powerful people essentially run all of global politics and they have a system of assassins who work for them. Movie three is it's kind of him against the world because he has killed a member of the table and is how does he navigate all of that? By the end of movie three, you have now been set up with a problem for movie four. He's apparently been quasi betrayed but not really kind of betrayed by Winston, played by Deadwood guy. Movie three ends with the bowery king played by Lawrence fishburne, picking his body up off the street and being like, are you angry? And Sean wick being like, yeah. Yeah. Which is like legitimately 52% of all of Keanu Reeves dialog in the John Wick series, which is fine. That's what you're here for. You're here to watch John Wick say, yeah. And kill people. That's what you're here for. Now, it's him versus the table, right? He's going to take down the entire structure. He's going to Daenerys Targaryen style break the wheel. That's where we are. He proceeds to spend all of moving forward not taking down the table, not taking down the table. He says at the beginning he's going to take down the table. He kills an elder of the table, and then he proceeds not to take down anyone else from the table. It turns out that the big baddie in this movie is the Marquis de gramont. Now we know that he's really bad because he dresses incredibly well. He drinks sweet espresso and he shoots the assistant to Winston. Unfortunately, in real life, just passed away. It's really sad story, but in the movie, he shoots that guy. That's how we know he's bad. We know he's real bad. Now, why is he worse than anyone else in the film? I don't know. Winston seems like not an amazing guy. All these people work for an actual assassin's cartel and they murder people for a living. So the Marquis de gramont, he lacks as a sort of big, baddie villain. And by the way, he has no actual skill set. We never actually see him in battle. We never actually see that he's like amazing at killing people. We never have seen any of that stuff. It feels like when they wrote the plots of this movie, they knew what the plot was supposed to be, and so there are a bunch of references in the movie to the plot and they just didn't get to them. So what I mean by that is there's a scene, for example, where the Marquis is sitting inside the Louvre and he's looking at a very famous painting from the French Revolution of lady liberty, who is charging up out of a battle, and it's supposed to be like, oh, this is going to be like the French Revolution. It's going to be like the people taking down the table, but they don't do it. They don't do it. Nothing in the movie deals with the table. The plot then makes no sense. Plot problem number one, the entire crux of the film relies on John Wick buying his freedom by challenging the Marquis to a duel. Now, why that would work in the rules of the table, not really explained, because this is a really stupid rule. Why would he be able to basically buy himself a get out of jail free card by murder challenging somebody? Like, he's a murderer. That would be a really stupid way for the table to have a rule. It doesn't make a lot of sense. But here's the problem. The person who informs him of this rule that would allow him to get back in with the table and buy his freedom is Winston. You know who John Wick is known since literally the beginning of the series. Apparently, is

Sonny Bunch Discusses Guy Ritchie's "Operation Fortune"

"You got to go to the movies. And the good news is John Wick is back. The bad news is operation fortune has not been much noticed by anyone. Sonny munch is here, the official movie critic of the Hugh Hewitt show. Airline miles rolling downhill towards him faster than boulders in an avalanche. Sunny, I want to talk to you about operation fortune and Guy Ritchie before we go to John Wick. Why didn't no one know that movie was out? It was very entertaining. Well, you know, that movie has had an interesting and kind of cursed release. It was supposed to come out, it was supposed to come out last year. It was supposed to come out more than more than 12 months ago. And it ended up getting kind of caught in the Russia Ukraine news cycle because originally the villain in that movie was a series of Ukrainian gangsters. Oh my gosh. No kidding. Yeah, so it got kind of caught up in that news cycle. The final version, they edited out the Ukrainian gangsters. They changed the villains around a little bit, I think. I don't know if they reshot any of the scenes or if it was just a little bit of sniffing here and there. I mean, I for one really enjoyed operation fortune. Even the fetching misses Hewitt, who generally doesn't, she won't go see John Wick, but because Hugh Grant was it using the Michael Caine access. She wanted to go see it. Yeah, so this is the second movie, I think. That Hugh Grant has done with Guy Ritchie, the first was the gentleman, which came out. A couple of years back. And I feel like Guy Ritchie is kind of unlocked something a little bit different within him. He's not. He's funny and bad. Yeah, no, it's interesting what he's doing. Anyway, I like to operation fortune a lot, but because it got kind of, again, it got wrapped up in all this. And there was also stuff with the distributors so that this movie was financed by a company called STX, which has kind of gone out of business that sold off their interests. So this got bought up by I can't even remember who MGM or somebody.

"Good to see you again. Welcome to the big picture where we love John Wick. I'm curious, this is your fourth one now and very few filmmakers get a chance to make a film following a character in a mythology like this across four films. Did you feel like you had unfinished business heading into this one? Good question. I think we've talked before. We count I finished number three and we're like, we're good. And then it was literally like four or 5 months later. The movie had come out. It had what it did. People seem to like it and we felt pretty satisfied at that. And we're like, okay. Dodge a bullet we're all good. We're pretty content. And we went to Japan because they opened much later. They opened like four or 5 months later. And we went to the Tokyo thing to do the opening, press thing. And we were sitting at the imperial hotel at the scotch bar. They were having a hobie. Laughing about, whoo. Oh, that was a little exhausting, wasn't it? Yeah, okay, we're good. Well, it's closer, you know, how do you feel? Well, it's a little bittersweet. You feel very proud and you're like, you know, by the time we had started working in other projects and we're kind of like, ah. Kind of miss it. Well, it's like a good thing we're done. Yeah, good thing we're done. You feel good? I feel good, yeah. You know? And then we're sitting there and we see, you know, we're in Japan and you're like, what if we start two drinks and you're like, what if John Wick met a samurai or a ninja and like this? What if we should do an Osaka continental? And you're joking about it, drinking, going, yeah, and we start in our, I guess our way to hang out and have fun is to just riff on goofy ideas. You know, what if he was a cyborg, John Wick in space?

"There's a lot of no doubters here. Sure. But I agree. Now that I have a better understanding of your qualifications for this Hall of Fame, I do think my own private Idaho has to go in. One of the replacements are hardball has to go in. I don't see the replacements here, bob, but we need to add that too. What do you think about Dracula? Like I said, this is your, this is your time. And I told you that I would be kind and supportive to you. Here's what I want to say though, pep talk wise. Because you were like, this is, I want to cook. I have a lot of feelings about this. You know, and I've been there, not as often as you have, but have been there. And I think it's important to put your personal stamp on it, you know? And you can't live in the letterbox. You got to live in the real world. So go with your heart, go with the movies that speak to you. Make a good list, but I trust you to make a good list. Okay, Bram Stoker's Dracula's out. All right. I'm really stuck now. I think we made a mistake on John Wick chapter two. I don't think we can make the case for it. Because there's too many things. I don't think you can not have the replacements and hardball. Okay. And also the devil's advocate means a lot to me. You're going to put the replacements where hard wall and over John Wick two. It's hard to make a decision. They show something different. This shows something different. Sure, but at the same time, John Wick, John Wick two shows, not a fluke. Here's what we can do when you give us the chance. Here is how big our imagination goes. Look at what we can create. Put the devil's advocate and hardball in right now. And let's see where we're at. Okay. I think that's 9. I love the devil's advocate, so I just can't turn my back on it. And if people are mad, they can write a letter to them. They can write a letter to someone else. I stand with you on that one. Follow your heart. Here's a list right now. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, point break. My own private Idaho, speed, the devil's advocate, the matrix, hardball, something's got to give and John Wick. Now here's the thing. What's on the yellow remaining, river's edge,

"John Wick. We've only done chapter two on the rewatchables and not chapter one. Strangely, but it's because chapter two is such an amazing elevation of what the first film was. I think it's in. Great. No argument. No, I told you. I wasn't going to hold you back. Have you seen 2018 Siberia? No, I haven't, but I have seen 20 18s destination wedding. What do you think of that movie? I haven't seen that. It is not. It's not good. So it's one on a ride a reunion. Yes, and it's romantic comedy. Sort of. Very sour. It is why don't a writer plays the X of the person getting married can a Reeves plays the brother of the person getting married. They hate everyone. And no one else speaks in the movie. It's just dialog. It's just the two of them that keep getting thrown together at the various wedding events or the plane or whatever, and they just snipe at each other. And then at the end, they like each other. Great. I'll never watch it. Yeah, it's not good. 20 19s replicas, a kind of failed science fiction film that didn't never took off for him. That's also not in. I think John Wick chapter three and we will get to chapter four very shortly is the least of the John Wick films. It's not bad. It has some incredible set pieces as all of these films do. I find it a hard stretch to get it to get three John Wick movies and let alone four. Okay. So I'm going to say let's, let's table three. I'm fine with that. Always be my maybe. I have a hard time putting this in much as I enjoy this. I agree. I wasn't going to something's got to give it's the only one where I was really going to go. I was never going to fight you on that. I'm going to go to the mat. I really like it. In fact, I just, I fast forwarded this morning to the extended Keanu cameo, where he plays himself. And it's incredibly funny. And good nature and makes that movie. As I watched the movie the first time I was like, I wish the movie was just Ali Wong and Keanu. Yes. That is the movie that I want to see. So we could have that, right? Would it work at like 90 minutes? I don't know. I just thought, you know, I saw a trailer for this new series starring Ali Wong who I love and Steven Yeun on Netflix called beef. And then my immediate thought was why isn't this a movie? Can we just make this a movie, please? Yeah. That's a problem that I have, but I agree. Those two should be movie stars. Anyway, 20 19s Toy Story four, honestly, Keanu is absolutely hilarious in this movie. He is incredible as a toy, like an army toy, named duke kaboom. He's more like a evil knievel style like stunt driver figure and his voice work is phenomenal. It's not in the whole fame, but I look forward to the day when I can show my child Toy Story four. He is transcendent. So isn't he so funny? Genius level stuff. It's so good. It's probably not enough of a part or thing. I don't think Toy Story before even has the best reputation, but I like it. 2020 Bill & Ted Face the Music, fun movie. This is actually a fun movie to get during COVID during the pandemic, but definitely not in the Hall of Fame. If we're not putting book as adventure in the Hall of Fame. The Matrix Resurrections, which I've gallantly defended here on this podcast, but that many people thought was absolute garbage.

"On our review of mayor You only live once. I need to definitely see some more german movies. Do you ever see dos boot I mean more most recently dark. Obviously the television show was phenomenal I do enjoy like no jokes aside. Just how they speak of german cinema in inglorious bastards. Because it's like to me you get that sense. That in like that was one of their goals was to match the americans in that sense in a cinematic sense and just how that that was such a prominent thing and especially well everywhere. pretty much. Like the heyday of but But like the way. They discuss cinnamon. That movie i i. That's one that's something. I always like was fascinated by somebody answers our question with how. 'bout you send me questions. boy yeah that that is a an interesting point. And what's her face. Do you remember the actress name. Yvonne hammers mark. Okay but the her actual name in real life. Yes are now. She's incredible actress. She has great german actress then. I can't remember her name. Diane diane kruger krueger. Diane kruger. yes yeah yup. I watched german stuff. Oh sorry curtis actually had a question. He just didn't want to shout out. Which film from the which film for the rest of the year do you think has the best chance to hit one. Billy spiderman next. "What was it was enjoyable to watch that at least would make a fantastic harley quinn as a side note but she can just do anything She she's she's really good. I wonder if she'd ever marry me if i ever ran into her and just got on one knee and garfield wasn't continent maybe both soup. Ken dairy talking about the fat cat for a second. No andrew garfield garfield i think of a mondays. I do love that fat. I think like pair bill murray. I don't know what they would like tackle on a sequel. Because i'll tell you this much. As far as redeeming the bad guy where like joker. It's i hate making comparisons. Everyone makes the comparison. I i called her. Dalmatian joker You know at the end of joker. He's like he's joker the carello like i don't think it's so clear cut. She has moments in this movie. And there's like a she goes like this trying to spoil anything like there's a large period of time where she is like super like evil and stuff but then like she kind of got a little redemption at the end than you know. What are you gonna do that again. The nino eventually going to skin the dogs well when you say what. Are you going to do that again. Hollywood's like the work the first time. Sure skimming the dogs is definitely not going to happen. They didn't even let her smoke. I saw emma. Stone was frustrated by that not so frustrated but she mentioned that she wanted to smoke the iconic cruella deville cigarette And there's no smoking dizzy. Bovey's some maybe. If since the first one was so good the letter smoke in the second and that brings a new aspect of the character. Not only trying to kill dogs but trying to kick the habit of smoking cigarettes to from on special there but You gotta go for the dogs right. That's the next that's the next step. Everyone saying corolla to isn't that just one hundred and one dalmatians. So like i said. I guess she is a fashion crazy person. Fashioned crazed individual and she has the. We've all seen the first clip of the movie. If you haven't seen it on the internet the dalmatians killing her mother. Just fucking incredible It's ridiculous it's like. Jeff bezos is origin story like a a library killed his facts the way like barnes and noble the way they try to connect certain things is probably the worst part of the movie with that how she gets her name and things like that. It's it's very. Yeah solely han solo. Because you're alone yet. It's on par that right Rindge i do want to see for emma stone man. She's good man. It's the perfect kids movie for her to take on right. If you wanna get that disney check it's a role where she's not going to be to be limited whatsoever because characters so crazy but like for her. That's emma stone. Is i think i would put her in the prestige class point. Yeah no award winner..

"When i was in the ten rating scale a nine point six out of ten so very controversial at the time none of people were upset with that rating. But i stand by fuck. That's good senbei convictions Yeah i think how many how many these do you think we get. And total with kiana reeves starring. I think he'll go for maybe two more. 'cause i mean he's older he's he's getting there in the late fifties and that's not to say that he can't do it for another five to ten years but it gets to a point where john wick has been through a lot and these movies. I can't imagine that they are easy to shoot sure he has stunt doubles. But it's still a lot of a lot of the movies. Just him running around trying to kill people so yet. The factor in the actors age. And whether or not. It's going to still be believable. But i think he's got two or three in them. I would say six. That's good 'cause right now you're halfway there right. You might as well wrap it up with a nice clean. Six four is shooting now Five was already announced so yeah. I think he'll go six. I'd like that well. We have a movie. That's going for at least two or if you count in the other movies could be like three or four. I'm not really sure but carello to has been announced by disney. You see yet. I did not. I didn't you did. Yes i did. Yes you did how. How was it It wasn't bad a little goofy times. But it is. You know it's weird because it was crew ella. Yes but it was like it was a little dark at times but they saw that goofy aspect of it. I thought it was a decent movie. The vibes are off the charts. Though i'll just the fashion lives yeah. Yeah absolutely like i've shitty fashion in general An inspired me to like maybe try to spice it up a little. You wanna ralph. The renders rousey might get this. I might not the aesthetics vibes the music. That was the best part of the movie for me. And emma stone and emma thompson are like them going back and forth was it was pretty cool to watch I don't hate this. I think it was decent enough. Where like if we're going to get more of these. Disney live action. I would rather be like another shoe. Shot Another being able to see emma stone played his character again. That's enough for me to go back and see. See a sequel. It rather than something else completely different or like. I don't know what's a remake they would do A disney remake live action monsters inc. It's not sure but yeah. It's not disney monsters inc. is disney. Pick me talking about talking about like disney live action. Like of the animated of the hundred and one dalmatians right. Right fantasia right. I wouldn't hate that actually. Live action fantasia. How do you do the mouse. He still animated peaceful animated but the sets are another. Look terrible Heater hole but yeah emma stone as catcher..

"Good very good for the most part I think you think they've gotten better right for you. You like three. The most i do. I think they've been pretty consistent and they are just great movies and it's kind of like what mission impossible. It's like what we're gonna get another one but they just keep getting better and or at least as good so it's like we can't really complain until they actually jumped the shark or they make a bad movie so if they're gonna keep it rolling and may building a cast like this. I think that's something i can. Add a different element into it and make it make it fresh right And that's a franchise out. I think it's hard to jump the shark because it is inherently just ridiculous. It's not fast and furious stealing computer chips to address. The world. possibility is not out of the question right. So it's i think it's consistent knows what it is. In terms of a franchise and to cast greek. I i thought the halle berry was a great casting. And i think she that character fit right into the franchise so if you keep implementing things like that into this franchise then. I think it's something where you give them the benefit and the benefit of the doubt until they prove that they prove you. Wrong so yeah. I'm excited what. I want from the donnie yen casting is that he is firmly on the side of john wick. I don't want any. I thought common was going to be that character where he was going to help john. Whitmore more like halle berry and par-three even though she was kind of a reluctant partner. That was my favorite part of the movie. But if it's john wick. And i hope they just call him donnie yen and donnie yen back to back going against the high table assisted by laurence fishburne words Bird king guy. Whoever he is and to me it's just so funny. How each movie is just the same movie but slightly bigger. It always ends with john wick killing a bunch of people and that the end. He's he's betrayed by someone else and he's just gotta do. Can you just brought right back in So i hope part for the same exact way john wick seems like he's gonna be behind it all in maybe. Yeah yeah i. I hope that they're just friends. Because there's nothing like a bromance especially in this universe. You just wanting to be named danny do like that one. Tv show or movie. The characters name is their name real life. It depends it depends if it just fits the story. Some of story with the character is kinda like a nameless character so they just give it. The actor's name because the character doesn't the names not that important times it does bother me. If the if the actors two well-known gets to a point where like the rock should just played the rock and every movie he doesn't that is calling him his character names like i said gun to your head. Tell me who he played in baywatch or the tower movie. I can't even remember the the name of the fucking movie. Yes i never call it skyscraper. I always call it. The tower movie always hobbs. Or shaw fifty fifty. Chance gun to your head. Show so donnie yen playing donnie yen and john wick. Part for and like you said a franchise. Why do they keep getting better. Gave part three a back..

How the greeks looked at their performance their actors as holy people people that with their words and energy could bring other people to to tears or laughter and i i love storytelling and how it can affect people in a good way if we actors have good material and do our jobs properly and i feel you know one of my mentors had said so profoundly that we have to be as good as we possibly can as performers and actors because we are asking people to spend their hard earned money and time on us so give them something worthy be worthy of their time and money uplift them educate inspire entertain. "I think it's fascinating. So i love acting you've With few exceptions you've found quite a nice niche as a martial artist oftentimes as the villain. Elizabeth Wharton: Strong shoulders for someone else to stand on

"This, Elizabeth Warren and I am an attorney by training and currently chief of staff at site an Internet startup company. I've always enjoyed solving problems. Nancy drew being some of my favorite books. Growing up early on I thought, I was going to be kind of the. White Knights eight-year District Attorney fighting crime and I realized very quickly after years of high school mock trial competitions that at the end of the day, I did not enjoy it litigation. So, while I knew, I had found my home in the policy legal world. It took me a little while to come upon the technology side. So been a few years on the hill looked around the room and said what's next and saw it everyone who was at that level I thought I wanted to be they all had a law degree. From there went to law school passed the Bar, and of course, answer the sirens call a big law firm. Big. Money big projects. and. Works in finance business in real estate for both a for six years. As I started doing that more friends be in the Atlanta area. Were involved in different technology projects research. And they start asking you questions and. Hey if we're doing this, if we're researching, this is this legal And from there it just snowballs and next thing I know as John Wick and the John Wick movies would say. Are you. Are you back John and eventually he's like, yeah, I guess I am so. You are you are you at technology attorney? Well Yeah I guess I am. there. I've had the good fortune to take diets years of advising businesses. From the outside looking in and helping companies shape their strategy from the legal perspective that I've been able to grow that and now can help companies shape their strategy from the inside looking out. So that's a lot of lot of. It really helps a building in if you have thought five moves ahead as you're doing something. That went surprises come up later it's. It's a lot of fun I. Get to be able to say, Oh, no no, we built that we baked that into the contract ahead of time or yeah, I anticipated I mean one of the best examples is you look at, for example, if I'm working with security researchers, we've got a product that we want to use that says, oh, you can't reverse engineer this software. But. If I know going in that, that's exactly what we're. GonNa do but not from militia standpoint instead we wanna make sure it meets our needs. So knowing how to then go back to the other company and say hey gonNA be honest. Engineering, teams. GonNa reverse us. But we're doing it to protect ourselves. So basically think of it as we're can be deering. Free Quality Assurance Testing, and some folks love you. Because you're like wait you're going to pay US money to use our product and give us. Effective feedback on how to make it better. Yes Steve At. Moon. Ask. Those questions find. Who had brings you joy speaks your interest what sparks your imagination. Look around see who's doing even just a piece of that or part of that and asked them hey, what what about us drove you there or what should I do what I learned and just absorb that information every step of the way I have had someone willing to give their time, their expertise and really just mentoring doesn't quite summit all of supporting cheering me on and I'd like to think that I can just help someone else because you're the adage that a rising tide lifts all ships we didn't get to where we are without the help of others, and so I just like to add drunk shoulders for someone else to stand awning help reach their heights.

'The New Mutants' brings in $7 million from theaters during its opening weekend

"That long has been since we said that Marvel superhero slash horror flick. The new mutants ruled the box office this weekend by taking in $7 million $7 million and more than 2400 theaters, and that's with only about 62% of theaters open parts of the South after being devastated by Hurricane Laura weren't open, Disney said quote Is very early and we are encouraged by the start. We're optimistic about a return to the movies. I'm not familiar with the movie New moons. No, I know it's a marvel superhero slash horror flick. But yeah, so it made $7 million that That would be a bad weekend any other time of the year, but that's actually fantastic for what's going on right now. Russell Crowe's unhinged made another 2.6 million after opening with four million last weekend. When you're ready Bill and Ted's face the music earned more than $1 million. It opened it only Ah opened in about 1000 theaters, but a lot of people probably stayed home to watch it because it was also available on demand for 20 bucks. I thought I saw a little bit more of Ah, the trailer. There's a different trailer. I should say the makeup on Chiana is not really that good. No, no, it doesn't look that good. Kind of looks like he's Oh, I don't know where the mask really kind of looks funny, at least the one trailers. I did see the first trailer I saw it looked OK, but the one I saw over the weekend went way to manage here. He looks kind of funny. So you think this is Bo Tox? Er, I'm not sure what it is because you know he does have that high forehead and he went back to the long hair that he had in the original bill and Ted's right in his forehead. That just does not look right. Yeah, I guess that five o'clock shadow. He always has really hides a lot of that. John Wick Wick. Look as we like to call it. It doesn't have that in this. And I just thought it looked funny just like you did. Just me though. Just me. All right. Coming up in 8 10.

'Bill & Ted Face the Music' isn't excellent, but it's still kind of fun

"Ted faced the music. It's not significant nor extremely funny, but it's certainly fun. And it's so amiable that I'd be kind of a meanie to say anything too critical of it. In case you're thoroughly pop culture challenged. This is the third movie and a trilogy of Dumb Guy, Buddy Cos. That began 30 Count them 30 years ago with the time traveling Stoner Movie Bill and Ted's excellent adventure that was 1989. There was a sequel Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey and 91. These guys are best friends, suburban goofballs in one of the rock star's billing tender in high school in the original film, they're gonna fail history. Oh, and by the way, they're played by then and played by now. Alex Winter and the Evergreen Piano. Reeves. I mean piano Reeves. His career is Blowing back up. There's a big resurgence with John Wick films and The Matrix franchise is continuing, but he loves this character, and he's got a great relationship and report with Alice Winter. Eso. They've come back for this third film and You know. Initially they're visited by this hipster from the future named Rufus, who shows up in some kind of phone booth that can traverse time in space. Like like doctor who's police box, and by the way, Rufus was played by the late great comedian George Carlin, and he takes them on a trip through time to help them pass his history tests and tells them that they are going to write and record a song that will bring the world together in peace and harmony. Will, apparently by this third film. Three decades later, they still haven't written a song to sign the song. I've always felt that the world is just one song away from peace and harmony to to bad. Hey, Michael, do you exactly that I have to want hilarious.

Assassin's Creed 2 is now free on PC for a limited time

"Week rally this week we're looking at assassin's creed two which has you taking on the role of SCO auditory an assassin in the renaissance back in Italy and he's basically going around it trying to right the wrongs of some are corrupt individuals that would be sought for Sasson street is a franchise that took the industry by storm in two thousand seven and went on to sell more than eight million units globally the general direction I gave to the team for a C. two was quite simple diverse city if flares more options in all aspects of the game sucess is creed two is this epic story of family vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine yet brutal backdrop of a renaissance Italy it's the over friendly now da Vinci takes on Florida's most powerful families in ventures to the canals of Venice where he learned to become a master assassin now this is like the the DNA of assassin's creed games because there's like all kinds of assassin's creed's budget and they take place in all kinds of different tying time periods and places like number two what was the best one tire series this is the one that is why he asked one yeah we wouldn't been told that when I bought honestly I mean not as not as he's actually still good because a lot of them more recently a lot of the later ones weren't very good they were turning out like every six months yeah they weren't they were garbage but origins Odyssey still very good but this one's for free you will use it to get to be John wick in the renaissance like what what more reason you need to check that came out alright you describe a little bit like what the game plays like because it's a lot of sneaking around literally and assassinated it's it's an action adventure game right so you know you're you're basically a free exploring the open city of Italy and yet you have to assassinate people you get all kinds of different ways to do that the main which is like your hidden blade I'm sure you know you've probably seen it before but it's like this this gauntlet that you have that spike still this little dagger but eventually you get like poisons that you can use you know crossbows in like a little sort of gun collecting you can put in there as well to give you all sorts of different tools be able to do that we get to run across like buildings and do parkour stuff if you like a tomb raider game or maybe like to get into uncharted kind of like those would be this would be another game up your alley that could maybe be a this is one of a lot of historical references that the other assassin's creed yeah that's you know that's what I've always loved about these games is is the way they're able to take historical moments and and and it's it's it's it's like a historical fiction right because they have their own spin on them characters in the game right in some historical things that happen exactly in fact you know when the what was that that that burned down the cathedral no it's not one that burned down they actually were able to take some of the information that will be sought the developers that made it had compiled to make it with in their game and use that for the reconstruction yeah use the video games Jeff to help recreate what was damaged in the fire yeah because they took pictures for three D. stuff inside because they wanted to model it as accurate as possible they had all the data so it saved in there like you can go yeah and I mean it is that this isn't even a big time investment either twenty twenty five or twenty to twenty five hours talks to you really get to the story and it's only free though on Ubisoft are you play on PC so going download movies off you play you

Disney is using AI to correct gender bias in its movies

"Disney is making strives in Ah Inclusion and they they've actually utilize they're utilizing a new tool that I guess checks their film and TV scripts her gender bias so what is going on there yeah so James Davis who is the Oscar winning actress who founded the Gena Davis Institute on Gender in Media Back in two thousand four she been sort of the forefront of representation in culture she and her team have developed this new digital tool that uses artificial intelligence to check tips for gender bias and the Walt Disney Company has agreed to be like basically the test case for this thing to use to team up with them and use this tool on all of its upcoming home and TV projects so it's basically a tool that uses machine learning to read here too rapidly analyze the text of a script to determine its number of male and female L. characters and whether they're representative of the real population at large so it's important to note that Gena Davis doesn't view this as a tactic to shame any the writers or filmmakers for a writing one-sided screenplays or anything but she's trying to shine a light on the unconscious bias that is in Hollywood and hopefully provide opportunities to sort of correct those instances before these projects go into production this for me it sounds like a real really cool idea and the idea that Disney acknowledging that this is an area where they can improve is a big step in and of itself in that they're taking action is a cool thing here I just think we should I I'm curious what you guys think about this but for me it seems like this is you know as somebody I assume all three of us think that represent representation is a very important area where Hollywood can improve but at the same time something like this should not necessarily be like the end all be all decision-maker for how movies are made because you know you have like the Shawshank for Shawshank redemption for example like if you made half of that cast women yes it would be an example of parody on screen but it wouldn't make any sense at all because that story is set almost entirely an immense prison facility so I think it has to be on a case by case basis but in terms of like a a step in the right direction and certainly helpful guideline for sort of opening people's eyes and and giving people opportunities to make substantive change I think this is a really cool thing I just feel like why have a tool for this and not just have someone like if you're Disney and you can afford to have this like one a have a position like one person that is they're not only to a check every film and TV script for gender bias but also for insensitivity towards cultures and you like everything like it feels like that could be a position they create so much content because the computers are out to take all of our jobs feeder you know that's I just feel like it would be much easier to have a person who can have the mindset sets these things and a one one says over an algorithm but I don't know what do I
