Elizabeth Wharton: Strong shoulders for someone else to stand on

"This, Elizabeth Warren and I am an attorney by training and currently chief of staff at site an Internet startup company. I've always enjoyed solving problems. Nancy drew being some of my favorite books. Growing up early on I thought, I was going to be kind of the. White Knights eight-year District Attorney fighting crime and I realized very quickly after years of high school mock trial competitions that at the end of the day, I did not enjoy it litigation. So, while I knew, I had found my home in the policy legal world. It took me a little while to come upon the technology side. So been a few years on the hill looked around the room and said what's next and saw it everyone who was at that level I thought I wanted to be they all had a law degree. From there went to law school passed the Bar, and of course, answer the sirens call a big law firm. Big. Money big projects. and. Works in finance business in real estate for both a for six years. As I started doing that more friends be in the Atlanta area. Were involved in different technology projects research. And they start asking you questions and. Hey if we're doing this, if we're researching, this is this legal And from there it just snowballs and next thing I know as John Wick and the John Wick movies would say. Are you. Are you back John and eventually he's like, yeah, I guess I am so. You are you are you at technology attorney? Well Yeah I guess I am. there. I've had the good fortune to take diets years of advising businesses. From the outside looking in and helping companies shape their strategy from the legal perspective that I've been able to grow that and now can help companies shape their strategy from the inside looking out. So that's a lot of lot of. It really helps a building in if you have thought five moves ahead as you're doing something. That went surprises come up later it's. It's a lot of fun I. Get to be able to say, Oh, no no, we built that we baked that into the contract ahead of time or yeah, I anticipated I mean one of the best examples is you look at, for example, if I'm working with security researchers, we've got a product that we want to use that says, oh, you can't reverse engineer this software. But. If I know going in that, that's exactly what we're. GonNa do but not from militia standpoint instead we wanna make sure it meets our needs. So knowing how to then go back to the other company and say hey gonNA be honest. Engineering, teams. GonNa reverse us. But we're doing it to protect ourselves. So basically think of it as we're can be deering. Free Quality Assurance Testing, and some folks love you. Because you're like wait you're going to pay US money to use our product and give us. Effective feedback on how to make it better. Yes Steve At. Moon. Ask. Those questions find. Who had brings you joy speaks your interest what sparks your imagination. Look around see who's doing even just a piece of that or part of that and asked them hey, what what about us drove you there or what should I do what I learned and just absorb that information every step of the way I have had someone willing to give their time, their expertise and really just mentoring doesn't quite summit all of supporting cheering me on and I'd like to think that I can just help someone else because you're the adage that a rising tide lifts all ships we didn't get to where we are without the help of others, and so I just like to add drunk shoulders for someone else to stand awning help reach their heights.

'The New Mutants' brings in $7 million from theaters during its opening weekend

"That long has been since we said that Marvel superhero slash horror flick. The new mutants ruled the box office this weekend by taking in $7 million $7 million and more than 2400 theaters, and that's with only about 62% of theaters open parts of the South after being devastated by Hurricane Laura weren't open, Disney said quote Is very early and we are encouraged by the start. We're optimistic about a return to the movies. I'm not familiar with the movie New moons. No, I know it's a marvel superhero slash horror flick. But yeah, so it made $7 million that That would be a bad weekend any other time of the year, but that's actually fantastic for what's going on right now. Russell Crowe's unhinged made another 2.6 million after opening with four million last weekend. When you're ready Bill and Ted's face the music earned more than $1 million. It opened it only Ah opened in about 1000 theaters, but a lot of people probably stayed home to watch it because it was also available on demand for 20 bucks. I thought I saw a little bit more of Ah, the trailer. There's a different trailer. I should say the makeup on Chiana is not really that good. No, no, it doesn't look that good. Kind of looks like he's Oh, I don't know where the mask really kind of looks funny, at least the one trailers. I did see the first trailer I saw it looked OK, but the one I saw over the weekend went way to manage here. He looks kind of funny. So you think this is Bo Tox? Er, I'm not sure what it is because you know he does have that high forehead and he went back to the long hair that he had in the original bill and Ted's right in his forehead. That just does not look right. Yeah, I guess that five o'clock shadow. He always has really hides a lot of that. John Wick Wick. Look as we like to call it. It doesn't have that in this. And I just thought it looked funny just like you did. Just me though. Just me. All right. Coming up in 8 10.

'Bill & Ted Face the Music' isn't excellent, but it's still kind of fun

"Ted faced the music. It's not significant nor extremely funny, but it's certainly fun. And it's so amiable that I'd be kind of a meanie to say anything too critical of it. In case you're thoroughly pop culture challenged. This is the third movie and a trilogy of Dumb Guy, Buddy Cos. That began 30 Count them 30 years ago with the time traveling Stoner Movie Bill and Ted's excellent adventure that was 1989. There was a sequel Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey and 91. These guys are best friends, suburban goofballs in one of the rock star's billing tender in high school in the original film, they're gonna fail history. Oh, and by the way, they're played by then and played by now. Alex Winter and the Evergreen Piano. Reeves. I mean piano Reeves. His career is Blowing back up. There's a big resurgence with John Wick films and The Matrix franchise is continuing, but he loves this character, and he's got a great relationship and report with Alice Winter. Eso. They've come back for this third film and You know. Initially they're visited by this hipster from the future named Rufus, who shows up in some kind of phone booth that can traverse time in space. Like like doctor who's police box, and by the way, Rufus was played by the late great comedian George Carlin, and he takes them on a trip through time to help them pass his history tests and tells them that they are going to write and record a song that will bring the world together in peace and harmony. Will, apparently by this third film. Three decades later, they still haven't written a song to sign the song. I've always felt that the world is just one song away from peace and harmony to to bad. Hey, Michael, do you exactly that I have to want hilarious.

Assassin's Creed 2 is now free on PC for a limited time

"Week rally this week we're looking at assassin's creed two which has you taking on the role of SCO auditory an assassin in the renaissance back in Italy and he's basically going around it trying to right the wrongs of some are corrupt individuals that would be sought for Sasson street is a franchise that took the industry by storm in two thousand seven and went on to sell more than eight million units globally the general direction I gave to the team for a C. two was quite simple diverse city if flares more options in all aspects of the game sucess is creed two is this epic story of family vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine yet brutal backdrop of a renaissance Italy it's the over friendly now da Vinci takes on Florida's most powerful families in ventures to the canals of Venice where he learned to become a master assassin now this is like the the DNA of assassin's creed games because there's like all kinds of assassin's creed's budget and they take place in all kinds of different tying time periods and places like number two what was the best one tire series this is the one that is why he asked one yeah we wouldn't been told that when I bought honestly I mean not as not as he's actually still good because a lot of them more recently a lot of the later ones weren't very good they were turning out like every six months yeah they weren't they were garbage but origins Odyssey still very good but this one's for free you will use it to get to be John wick in the renaissance like what what more reason you need to check that came out alright you describe a little bit like what the game plays like because it's a lot of sneaking around literally and assassinated it's it's an action adventure game right so you know you're you're basically a free exploring the open city of Italy and yet you have to assassinate people you get all kinds of different ways to do that the main which is like your hidden blade I'm sure you know you've probably seen it before but it's like this this gauntlet that you have that spike still this little dagger but eventually you get like poisons that you can use you know crossbows in like a little sort of gun collecting you can put in there as well to give you all sorts of different tools be able to do that we get to run across like buildings and do parkour stuff if you like a tomb raider game or maybe like to get into uncharted kind of like those would be this would be another game up your alley that could maybe be a this is one of a lot of historical references that the other assassin's creed yeah that's you know that's what I've always loved about these games is is the way they're able to take historical moments and and and it's it's it's it's like a historical fiction right because they have their own spin on them characters in the game right in some historical things that happen exactly in fact you know when the what was that that that burned down the cathedral no it's not one that burned down they actually were able to take some of the information that will be sought the developers that made it had compiled to make it with in their game and use that for the reconstruction yeah use the video games Jeff to help recreate what was damaged in the fire yeah because they took pictures for three D. stuff inside because they wanted to model it as accurate as possible they had all the data so it saved in there like you can go yeah and I mean it is that this isn't even a big time investment either twenty twenty five or twenty to twenty five hours talks to you really get to the story and it's only free though on Ubisoft are you play on PC so going download movies off you play you

Disney is using AI to correct gender bias in its movies

"Disney is making strives in Ah Inclusion and they they've actually utilize they're utilizing a new tool that I guess checks their film and TV scripts her gender bias so what is going on there yeah so James Davis who is the Oscar winning actress who founded the Gena Davis Institute on Gender in Media Back in two thousand four she been sort of the forefront of representation in culture she and her team have developed this new digital tool that uses artificial intelligence to check tips for gender bias and the Walt Disney Company has agreed to be like basically the test case for this thing to use to team up with them and use this tool on all of its upcoming home and TV projects so it's basically a tool that uses machine learning to read here too rapidly analyze the text of a script to determine its number of male and female L. characters and whether they're representative of the real population at large so it's important to note that Gena Davis doesn't view this as a tactic to shame any the writers or filmmakers for a writing one-sided screenplays or anything but she's trying to shine a light on the unconscious bias that is in Hollywood and hopefully provide opportunities to sort of correct those instances before these projects go into production this for me it sounds like a real really cool idea and the idea that Disney acknowledging that this is an area where they can improve is a big step in and of itself in that they're taking action is a cool thing here I just think we should I I'm curious what you guys think about this but for me it seems like this is you know as somebody I assume all three of us think that represent representation is a very important area where Hollywood can improve but at the same time something like this should not necessarily be like the end all be all decision-maker for how movies are made because you know you have like the Shawshank for Shawshank redemption for example like if you made half of that cast women yes it would be an example of parody on screen but it wouldn't make any sense at all because that story is set almost entirely an immense prison facility so I think it has to be on a case by case basis but in terms of like a a step in the right direction and certainly helpful guideline for sort of opening people's eyes and and giving people opportunities to make substantive change I think this is a really cool thing I just feel like why have a tool for this and not just have someone like if you're Disney and you can afford to have this like one a have a position like one person that is they're not only to a check every film and TV script for gender bias but also for insensitivity towards cultures and you like everything like it feels like that could be a position they create so much content because the computers are out to take all of our jobs feeder you know that's I just feel like it would be much easier to have a person who can have the mindset sets these things and a one one says over an algorithm but I don't know what do I

Michael Jordan, Keanu Reeves And Emile Hirsch discussed on Collider Movie Talk

"So apparently the matrix matrix for it is happening variety reports that loud on what caskey will write and direct a fourth matrix movie with kiana ribs and carrie ann moss reprising their roles so given all the rumors circulating about the matrix. I was surprised to hear this especially given the ending of revolution. So what do do you think about this news. Where could they possibly go with the story. Now i gotta let coin ready for this movie. It's okay in one thousand nine hundred nine twenty years ago. They foretold how ominous technology was gonna be. That movie was so prophetic and now we're living in an age where we often often don't know what's real and what's simulation whether or not you go to burning man. There's a very zatarain surreal quality to what reality is because of fakes because of technology. We've been overcome by technology technology in real life and now there is the perfect time to make the matrix four to retroactively fix the matrix two and three which could have been one very good movie rumor was i heard this this was back in the early two thousands that the animatrix and the matrix two and three it was supposed to be a trilogy but they wanted to do one before the matrix one after the matrix but because of the star wars. I don't know if this is true. Through warner brothers like no no no so they made the animatrix and then they split two and three into two movies but it should have just been one and that's why this movie's filled up loaded. I don't know if that's true but now they can fix that the matrix is more timely than ever keanu reeves is back in another hot streak carrying moscow's incredible and jessica jones. I love the idea of. I don't know why it's it's one which hausky but i love the idea of original crater coming back to a franchise that actually changed cinema. The first matrix is one question for you though so so. I think you use the word retroactively we're. We're talking a lot about ret cons lately but we were talking about something even before the show started that i think might be important to point out here when you say you know do things retroactively ret con whatnot. You're not talking about necessarily just like wiping the slate clean and saying this never happened. You're talking about adding it <unk> adding to it enhancing it. I haven't watched them in years. I've watched the first one planning but the second to there's an entire sequence if i remember correctly with the architect where there's a bunch of nieto's what easier franchise to fix than one where there's that many reality is easier. It's a movie about coding recode. The damn matrix is right there. So all you needed was the people that want it and the technology to catch up to make it different enough to make it worth making and the talent and we got all that in this announcement one of my very favorite things in this announcement is a quote and it says many of the ideas lilly and i explored twenty years ago about our reality are or even more relevant net lake more relevant now. That is the key terms phrase whatever that suggests that this franchise is worth bringing back. I could tell your super into into whatever <hes> was pitching this now well. It's just something i'm really passionate this year in general and storytelling is all the use of parallel realities alternate timelines justice that is also in any property and immediate fixture problem like it's not annoying. It's interesting it's exciting and and this is a- an ideal property to do that with you have to you we also have seen so with halloween. You can go that didn't happen and people will be okay with it. It's totally fine but by incorporating these sort of parallel words or re recoding as you said you don't have to do that you can satisfy both realities without pissing off a fair legion of fans who probably would be like what we saw that happen. It's real may chase recorded voted well. The thing is we say glitch in the matrix in everyday vernacular expression yeah a glitch in the matrix console all three and four we can actually go back and have a deja vu black cat experience and that's exciting and canneries doesn't age. It's very convenient. I that was one of the the biggest things about the story just seeing that the two of them are back but also we only get one which hausky this time which i find very interesting just curious. What do you guys make of that. I mean it is an interesting scenario that you hope is not in any way negative. The fact that lily was mentioned in the press release speaks well and the fact that they've worked together for like forty years see. We looked quite peacefully. I maybe lillies busy. Maybe she feels done with the story. You know there's a lot lot of possible reasons for that but it's it's interesting from a creative perspective if if that is solely lana on her own that i'm curious to see okay how the world might feel different when it's just one mind sort of creating this time around what's interesting to me is is that in conjunction with how many incredible creators came out of the matrix as we have like the john wick team and so many people that we now have directing their own work whether or not they come back to be like first a._d. Or any sort of second unit what the assemblage blue-chip the matrix is because we only have one which hausky instead of the pair so i'm really curious what the movie feels like and we'll be able to tell it's one of them instead of the pair of them because we've only seen them work together to my knowledge. I don't think i've ever seen a single hausky film. I think you're right. I i did like tried to double. Check really fascinating. There's always i'm <music>. I'm an apologist for a lot of their people. Don't like like i'm a big fan of what was the one about the the true through tom hanks. I liked that movie. I the credits of cloud atlas. They reveal who everybody played. Yeah i mean look. I like all of their movies yeah right up on the second for jupiter island because i love that speed racer summons emile hirsch whenever speed racer sir is trending. Emile hirsch was like yes. I'm here in tweets but like speed racer is one of those cult following. I think it came out six months too soon. The world wasn't quite ready for speed racer and the matrix four or is. I hope this is a movie that blows our minds because what they did with bullet time in ninety nine changed things. I can't wait to see what they can do. Twenty years later technology. I'm also curious are as has she says it's more relevant but also our relationship to technology has changed entirely in those decades and i'm very curious what the perspective on it is if it's still the the same. Is there any part of the movie where it's like now. We gotta plug back in the ass plugged in now. I know well. That's what's interesting is ninety nine i. I don't maybe i'm wrong but i don't think phones had internet like or if they did. It was rudimentary pretty average folks. I don't mind texting back marrow's still playing snake on nokia that point and you're doing like corey keyboard texting yeah. I was eleven so i don't remember who had i didn't have internet so what we are now. Now is such a different animal than what that movie represented them but you can watch the matrix now and it doesn't feel old yeah when you watch the matrix the first one it doesn't feel dated so i can't wait to see what they do with the world catching catching up to the reality of the already made. Maybe i'm just i'm afraid to see what they're about to foretell about the future sickly the way they did with the last one hundred forty nine the matrix man. That's a very fair concern very very. I want to know but i'm not sure if i want a fair concern that speaks to how rich this opportunity entity is because it's very exciting because we talk about you know reboot sequels franchises continuing you know twenty years after the last movie came out you name it and we're always like well you repeating something like does this just seems like a really again rich opportunity to continue a popular franchise where you're basically justifying it in the pillars of the franchise itself so i'm pumped and for me. It doesn't doesn't feel like where we have like. Indiana jones nineteen where they're like inventing a new story. The matrix said the video game the animatrix and the two sequels this rich world. They've already built up that they probably had other ideas for or and had ideas for the last twenty. Here's a here's a question from the live chat briefly from who rang who's writing. What does what does it mean for michael jordan. He was mentioned to star matrix matrix reboot. Maybe plays morpheus as son but really quickly before you guys even answer that it was making me think <hes> oddly enough off. I am more into the idea of another matrix movie with keanu coming back with a movie basically being pitched as matrix four rather than getting what we were originally talking about about you know just prequels and different offshoots as much as i like michael jordan i kind of hope that that is done and it's gone and they just move move forward as we were just discussing here. I mean i might be remembering incorrectly but i believe that had a different writer attached they did yeah sounds like a pretty the different project i have no problem whatsoever with michael jordan being in this movie because he's phenomenal and that would be great casting if they want to keep that one little nugget of that project alive. I do please yeah but it sounds that they're pretty separate at least from what the reports read like yeah to me. This is a separate property but if he's on the radar is on the radar so then it's a good thing and it's warner brothers so michael. Jordan is very much on their radar so it's a great opportunity to clarify. I'll take michael jordan anything. It's just when i first read the read the the news or a rumor at that point that that's what they were exploring. I'm like okay but then i hear something like what we're talking about right now and that's the hook. That's how you get me back in. I agree i. I don't think a reboot released spoke to me but hearing the story evolved from an original creator really speaks to the original team for the team sending

Our E3 breakdown: Microsoft's Project Scarlett looks crazy powerful (The 3:59, Ep. 568)

"The. Tonight on what you're saying. I'm Ben FOX Rueben and Oscar Ellis, E three is upon us. The big video game confab is out. No way. We've got a whole team out there covering it. Oscar you're here, though, covering all of the action. What was the most pressing? You've seen so far. It's granted we're only about two days into it. It was by far Kiana Reeves so John, Wakeham selfie. He appears in the twenty seven twenty seventy seven trailer. And sure enough, he shows up at, at three does a little spiel has just roar of applause, and announces that the game is coming out next year. And you said this was at a presentation press conference held in which they announced new hardware, like a new XBox coming twenty twenty project scarlet, but you said, can't raise got more plausible that it was huge even he was taken aback. I mean ease superstar, even he was like, whoa, right? And everybody just loves them. There's cheers, there was a guy who said your breathtaking. And that guy's going to get a free copy of the game from CD project, grit. Because he heckled he heckled cannery canneries been on a pretty Sean, Ron John wick three obviously has a lot of fans of I wanted to give to always be my maybe that Netflix film, in which canneries plays version of canneries that we think he is, which is kind of amazing. But back to back to you three product scarlet we have to talk about the next XBox AK graphics. One hundred twenty days for second salt say drive. Would you think about it, it seems that for this next gen consoles deceits us is solid state drives? Yeah. That is just going to make everything faster when it comes to loading two big areas that's going to be the key thing graphics. Wise course it's going to be better. They didn't show anything. But obviously it's gonna be better. PS live is going to be better. But solid state drive is going to get a new television, right? Ak graphics. You're going to need to upgrade your forte TV or so. We're, we're in for four k content. Yeah. If you want, if you want the eight k is a bit about feature per right though. The last version, the Xbox One originally didn't have XT Moore did have four K just like the PS four. And so I think they're trying to feature proof a little that there. Right. So it's, it's not where they had to come out with that Xbox One x to power, the four K resolution stole a lot of time for them to tease out a lot about this product because it doesn't come out until holiday, twenty so this was probably. Just a little bit to get people interested. And then we're going to see a lot more going forward. Yeah. The more than likely. They'll have their own little bit next year. Like they did with the Xbox One yet tour the show off the games, but halo infant is going to be a game for this four cyberpunk twenty seventy seven where the two only two trailers, I mash them watching just some huge halo junkie so beyond that last week, there was the Amazon remorse conference, which kinda got lost the shuffle. With all the touching on apple WW C, which they knew that then knew that they were scheduling, the first annual conference dub dub, tell me what is remorse. So is a it's basically Jeff Bezos is conference that they hadn't Vegas where they talk about robotics space, artificial intelligence. It's kind of big science, fair about a couple of things. So it was drove was quite enough that it could potentially sneak up on you. Yes. Yes. So Amazon announced their newest prime air drone at the conference, which is kind of a big deal, and that they continue to rate, these delivery drones that they keep tell. Us going to deliver us stuff within thirty minutes by the FAA hasn't really moved forward with the proves where we don't expect this to reach the mass market, at least the next couple of years if ever but it was a cool new drone. So tell me about on scout. Amazon scout. I got a chance to actually see this. This is a delivery drone for the ground. So it rides around in suburban sidewalks. And one of the cool aspects of it, that they told me about was that they create these duplicates of the real world, the real neighborhoods that Amazon scout is actually going around and to actually train the I to be able to actually know what to do when it goes out there and doesn't. I don't know. Knock over a tiny dog or something like that. All right. More of these sound seen it and Roger Chan, I'm Ben FOX. Zealous. Thanks for listening.

"john wick" Discussed on Feminist Frequency Radio

"So if anyone is like about to catch up on it before the movie like before they see three like, just don't watch them right next to each other. Like you can watch them days apart. But I think one of the problems with doing that is that it's the exact same story. And so you're, you're one is a higher quality in terms of visual aesthetics. It's really too, is really not. Once they are separated by that. I think budget wise, skill, etc. But they're ultimately the same story. So it gets a little like four hours of that is a lot. Oh, yeah. I'll say this after watching the first one I was kind of, like, really everyone. This is what everyone's obsessed with like, like I. Like, I don't like revenge films. I think that like it starts with a woman in the refrigerator bullshit like there's all this stuff that I'm like, RA cool. Whatever it's not even that visually interesting. Like, I, I don't think I can appreciate fight choreography this much, the Lord building seemed really kind of like a this is sort of dumb and cheesy the second one. I was like, oh, wow. Like this one is really visually, slick, and the colors and the cinematography like, oh, I'm starting to get like this is what I thought that the first one was going to be, so I started getting a little more into it. But I did get some fatigue because of like having just watched it. I will. Well, actually, I'm going to kick us off into talking about John Wayne three by just like moving into that. So by the time John three came out. And I went to see it two weeks ago, I look I was excited to see it. I was genuinely curious. You're like what's going to happen, because it, it picks up literally moments after John wick to ends, and I found myself as I've been immersed in this world more, and I think I've been primed that like everyone likes this, you should like it to kind of thing that I'm more forgiving and actually more intrigued by the world, like the code that these assassins, live by this sort of marketplace. The coins like your like how, how do you get an arsenal of guns for two coins and then you buy a drink with one, coin? Yeah. Like the fucking currency, the ship, but at the same time like all the questions that you asked earlier Carro. I don't want to know the answers I like the weird. Oh, you're mystery. I wanna be clear. Yeah. I was actually worried that I was coming across like, oh, I want. I want all this spelled out, and I don't like what I knew. I just want to talk about it. Yeah. Yeah. And I wanna hypothesize about it. So I think that like, as we've continued to watch and as they've continued to add these mythologies into this universe of assassins, I'm a little more intrigued by that world. I will say. One of the other problems are all stop talking in a minute. I know I've gone on for a while. But what are the other? What are the other problems? Is that these sorts of films always have to outdo themselves so they are getting increasingly more violent and increasingly more grotesque in their violence. And so I actually like I flinched a lot during three where I was like, oh, that was unnecessary or that was way more extreme than anything in one or two. And you can see each iteration getting more severe. I agree completely. Well, first of all, one of the detailer wanna mention about the world building around the assassins, and everything is the I both love and hate the room of administrative women. You know, like I li-, I guess, the way I love the kind of nineteen fifties secretary slash biker, chick aesthetic that they're rocking. I love that they still use paper forms and stamps and things. And I love that they have like these chunky computers with, like green monochrome displays it looked like they were set up in nineteen eighty two and they just never replace them. But I'm also like okay, but obviously then in the world of the assassins, like this is like a like a this is all women. And so this is like a place for women to function in that society. Do I really appreciate it in three that they had a man be or like a male seeming?.

"Assassins governed by a mysterious organization, known as the high table after breaking one of the high tables rules near the end of John wick to canner Reeves, melancholy killer, is declared excommunicated as John wick three begins. He's on the run with a massive bounty on his head and seemingly, every assassin in the world out to get him. All right. I would like us to start with very briefly talking about our relationships with the John wick franchise. Sure briefly. Okay. Yes. Brigham actually talking about this movie. Right. So, but I feel like John wick is this cult classic at this point. And everyone kind of has some relationship to it, whether they've seen it or not. Right. So I start like I saw the I didn't see the first film in the theaters. I, I kind of heard people talking about it. I'm like, you know, a sounds like it doesn't sound like something for me, right? It sounds like a pretty generic killer. Assassin whatever movie where the body count is massive. And I don't know. I I'll take a pass on that. But the kind of buzz around it continued to grow as people kind of framed it as something a little unusual little special little different. And so when it was released on, I dunno on online on demand. I watched it. And I was, you know, I have to admit, like I was I absolutely thought that it is those things like it is that violent just relentlessly brutal action film, and yet I found myself, drawn to Kia news kind of performance as this melancholy, you know, haunted again. Legendary assassin and, and also with, like the world building, you know, it, I it created this kind of what I felt to be kind of fun world, with the with these hotels that are that are inhabited by frequented by assassins. And where there's like this whole secret society in these codes of conduct, and everything, and you have an actor like. Ian McShane in this position of prestige, who's just fun to watch and, and kind of holds that kind of dignity and air about him really well, so and then so going into into two, I liked to in a different way. Whereas, I think the first focused more on in a way on Kiani on John wicks kind of loneliness and his desire to his anger about. You know, not being able to quote unquote, grieve on a loan for the loss of his wife, like the second one it kind of expanded on the world building with where when you get to the point where you realize like. Oh, God like everyone in this world is like kind of an on the assassin network. You know, when John wick goes excommunicate, or whatever there's like text messages that go out to like that..

"The initial gunfight in the lobby of the continental I felt like I was feeling John wicks gunshots in the base. And there was this sort of heartbeat to them. And then the pitter-patter of the tables gunshots riding over it, it just was thought it was beautifully done. I thought that they were they were doing what you're talking about. They were very precisely everything about John with movies another reason we root for them to go back. I talked about linear, equations. But what I what I mean are differential equations? Whatever is that everything about John wick is, is, mathematically. Beautiful and geometrically beautiful. The tumbling the striking that there's these circles and straight lines like the classic John wick move is a circle followed by straight line. Right. Which is like crossing somebody out crossing somebody out, and there's this wonderful orientation of all of the elements of an action movie that feels more at home in say a kung FU movie where the elements are non-negotiable, and as such the, the Arctic expression of the director is related to how they manipulate the elements of tattoo what you were just saying before about the nation. There was one line in the movie that maybe ties a lot of this up. And I wonder if you guys noticed this, too, I think that it's Marcus goes, aka the teacher from only the strong says this line, which is like is this, the dog right? Like somebody meets is this the dog. Yeah. Right. Of course, as you know, from the movies. It can't be the dog because the dog is dead. Right. Yeah. So like the people who have heard John with story, don't know who really is. They don't even remember his story, right? He can't be traveling around with the dog that killed. This has to be a different dog anybody who actually knew John wick would know that. And that in here, what this means is that there is a way in which the experience of this character and the story associated with him are being torn apart from each other. And maybe that's also a part of why this idea what is trying to be communicated through this idea of an anti John wick, which is like the anti John wick is set up against the idea of John wick, not the reality of John wick, not his own experience of himself, or the experience that others have when he's the last thing that they ever see right? Like they are surprised when the encounter real John wick. He's so much different than they thought he was going to be always slow. Oh, wow. Like he's really impressive. Yeah. He's been retired for four years. We'll still do. Yeah. Fair enough. And we even have Halle Berry setting up the new John wick myth with Halle Berry, having a sort of type anti with her own dog that gets shot by Braun that wreaks vengeance for right? Which is like, you know, the one I co- comes before I come before the one I'm not fit to tie her sandals. Right. It's like she reenact the events of the first John week movie with broad in this John movie, although where you guys could fuse as to whether that dog was dead or not. I the dog wasn't the dog had a kevlar. Doggy coat. Thunder vest, exactly. Yeah with you. I was confused the tracking of the dog slash dogs. Got a little bit muddy. Because everything was dark. But yeah, I mean, what did you think of Halle Berry in, in CASA Blanca do doing there? I mean, huge missed opportunity not to dunk someone into the right, especially in a movie franchise that has had both theon great joy and Braun in it not to crown..

I gotta tell you, so I'm sitting I saw it up at the eighty fourth street AMC someone the Upper West side. I see in the lobby group of teenagers like dressed up like wherein fucking the dudes Rin suits. The girls were in dresses, late on which party. I think they were coming from like an Upper West side private school pound. John wick bar mitzvah. It's the John wick. Bob mitzvah, man. John, wick Bris. I remember thinking to myself, like, oh man. I hope they're not in my theater, they were literally sitting next to me and around me, and it was a thing where this is one of the theaters. It's a sign seats and these sons of bitches were doing the like maybe someone won't show up, and they were sitting in seats and it was like everybody kept coming in like you're in my seat. That is same. I don't know. Told the boy about the scene from diner, he'd be very. "Let's see how excited you guys are for John wick for Justin Jacob. Do you recommend John wick chapter three para bellum Justin? I have such a weird relationship with the series because it was not something that I would have chosen for myself to watch, but I was pleasantly surprised by that first movie and was happy to leave it there. But then years later, we find out they're making a sequel. I was like, all right. This will be fun to go back to and I watched that movie and I enjoyed it. And then here we are again. Just two years later, talking about John wick, once again, and it feels like it's a franchise to keep pull me back. In even though I'm not excited about going there. But while I'm watching these movies, I'm enjoying them. I mean, they're shot very, very well I mean, there's I can't think of very many things they did technically wrong. They're gorgeous, the lighting in everyone of these scenes is so well thought out. I mean they've got red. Blue lights got orange blue lights. They're using lighting to set the proper mood, and it just looks gorgeous throughout and it's very competent with all the action. But what is lacking is a story? The story here, I feel like is enough for one movie, or maybe a Netflix series, if they were gonna tell the story over the season of John wick on Netflix over ten episodes at an hour long. I think you've got something here. But after I get done watching these movies, they keep dragging it on to try to get me to come back again. Which is fine, I will. But it's not the story that keeps me coming back. It's the good action that I think is awesome like Arne. Like you said a great buffet. You can only eat so much before you're stuffed. I mean, if I'm gonna go skydiving, and it took two hours to land. Yeah. At first half hour might be exhilarating. But after while your's like all right. A redone yet and this movie gets close to doing that. I'd never got so bored that I checked out, but it went right into the line. It did like by time. We're at the fight between John. John zero. I'm Barry to check out on, like, okay. I'm done with all the fighting let's wrap this up but I think it walks that line and it keeps the interest right there right to the end. And it says, are you ready for another chapter? And if the answer is it's coming out next week. My answer is no I'm not ready for another chapter if we have another couple years. Yeah. I might have a nice little bit of 'em nesia and be excited to ready go back. But right now I'm not ready to go back. I'm not excited about it. But for this movie, I still liked it. I still enjoyed it. It's if you've been along for the ride this long. I think it's an easy recommend Bizet ups the game on everything. The other movies done. Right. So yeah, I'm going to recommend this one with the tentative for John wick four. Jacob just took one of my is make this Netflix series. If you're not gonna give us endings, which it seems like I get it chapters, you reading a book, it doesn't include the story, necessarily, but this is a film. It's a different medium, and it hurts it for me. I was into the. The emotion of John wick, trying to remember his wife and keep her memory living, and then no motion resolution for that at comeback and four come back and five who knows. And that is frustrating. We've talked about that a lot on now playing I know with amazing spider, man. That was a big reason. I didn't enjoy that film, because it seemed like here's a lot of setup for other movies which I got a second. But we didn't get any after that. Here's the thing, though. I just decided, you know, like marvel where it seemed like a lot of those phase one and two marvel films whereabout going after a shiny rock, and that wasn't the most a engaging thing for me kind of bugged me. But when I go back and watch them. Now they're fine. I know it's about a stupid shiny rock that they're all chasing. And I'll just move pass that enjoy the film for what it is. And I, I realized that's what John wick is kind of doing. It's it's a series. It is not stand alone films..

"We're gonna find out, I think his real name because he's adopted I think they're going to say. But yeah, he's got those back tattoos. We're gonna see these ballerinas with the similar back to. I got to wonder if he's rushing at this point. I mean he was fighting the Russians and the first one he is. But he spoke Russian, I just assume he speaks every language, John wick, I did too, but he is of the Rusk of Roma tribe. And those are like real life, Russian gypsies, and what I take from this movie is, yes, his real name is jar Yosvani vich. And at some point he decided John wick sounds a lot cooler. And it does. Do you think that in Huston worked with Julie, Delpy and Julie Delpy was at another branch of this training? Black widow h. Voltron flashbacks. I don't ever having that role. But yeah. Maybe, again, this thing if you saw red Spiro with Jennifer Lawrence. It plays up to that Russia. And yeah, all this kind of stuff. And but, you know, we saw John week he got this necklace. You've got one of those markers. I remember that marker from part tube, especially because I just watched it. So I'm like, oh, he's someone owes him but he also gets this necklace. And that's his ticket to freedom. I guess everything here. There's always an out seems in this world. You got the gold coins. And now he's got this necklace that they're going to brand them with that shows. He's cashed in his ticket, and they were going to give him safe harbor to CASA Blanca, so he could live the rest of his life without having to worry about assassination. And this is where we learn a lot about John's backstory, and we learn it in a way that I like it's not a whole lot of exposition. We're learning it as he goes, and I guess, by being part of the Rusk of Roma tribe, you can ask for anything once, and this is so separate from the high table that even. The director. That's Anjelica Huston. We don't know a name other from the director, the director cannot refuse despite John being excommunicated. Oh, she's going to pay for that. But the tattoo on John's back, I've noticed it, always, obviously some Christ metaphor going on there. The ballerinas also all had this tattoo when you cash in your ticket, they're going to brand you with an upside down, cross marring that tattoo. Yes. I noticed it was upside down, which has its own meaning and significance. It's your it's your ticket out. I mean this whole thing this whole world is about codes that these people live by which is, I think what holds all of it together, is that, you know, sure SAS can go out there and kill people willy nilly. But the fact that they're all honor bound by a code. Yeah. Winston said in the second one and that's what upset me is without rules. We're just animals. And so that's why they have all these rules and they gotta stick to them that irony that these murderous killers are probably the most moral people as far as their. Code of morality goes, the now, we're seeing rules inside of rules inside of organization. So it's getting a little little wonky. Here's far as like what rules apply to who. And what this does, but I took it as this is your ticket out of this organization once you cash ticket, there's no coming back you're not under our protection anymore. There you go. Yeah. My feeling is either they really wrote a good, you know, if you if you ever worked on a TV show or you know how they work on TV shows. They usually have a bible where this is the characters. Here's your backstory might not ever show up in the movie. But here's everything rewind for this series. And I'm like, either this series when they came up with the John wick character. They wrote a great bible with all these different societies, and rules and macguffin, or they are just really good improv 'cause just making stuff up on the fly. I'm not sure which it is. It's fitting so well, though, and I think about the matrix a lot with these movies again theory about these movies are all taking place in the mate..

"That'll kill you. I got an eye thing. Just the I is makes me squeamish. Oh my God. Yeah. The I thing this bothered me here. It's a slow stab into the I. Oh my God painful, and then end all two guys come in with hatchets. And there's one guy still left alive. When wigs done, he just tastes that hatchet and throws it. I'm like this would have been a great three d seen to have the hatchet thrown from the back of the screen to the front and this guy in the head again those are the little details. I like this guy is not getting up to fight anytime soon. But John weeks, not gonna leave them alive. Just takes hatchet. Throws it into his head. And then if you're not exhausted, yet, we're going to get some horse action. We're gonna go to horse stable and John wick, not once but twice having taken out with horses kicking him in the face. I was like Where'd you find horses in Manhattan? And fortunately, they tell me these are those people that pull the carriage is right or scam. We see one guy in a suit with a carriage. So this is where all the horses from central. Park are kept. I'm like, okay. Okay. Thanks detailed is like I missed that. And I thought he was like, in the police horse stables. I'm like they would be a little bit more better protected than that. But there'd be some cops around I felt bad for the horse though, 'cause wick just punches him in the back and the horse double kicks this guy that had to hurt the horse. I mean, I don't notice a lot of I in this movie, but the horse was pretty fake. Yeah, the CD. I think they cover up a lot of their CGI. They use it to aid, and embellish, the physical stuff going on. But yeah that that's it was pretty obvious. I don't know there's a practical way to have a horse kick dude. I don't think wants that. And then the second horse though with just like it's like he's got a action button on the side, which pushes the side and the horse kicks. He pushes the side, again the worst kicks again. I'm designing the whole toy line for this movie. Oh, yeah. And then you get a chase scene. There's dudes on motorcycles chasing. John wick on the horse. I I love like at one point. John, wick doesn't thing where leans to the side. So they can't shoot them like he's writing. I don't even know what it's called..

"Multiple opportunities to save face with the high table and keep stay alive and just murder John John wig. And you have multiple times said, no, I'm not gonna do that. And now for no reason whatsoever. Even though you have the upper hand you decide to kill him. I got the feeling that he kind of knew he would survive in the movies defense. I think it's possible that Winston, you John liquid survive. So he knew that shooting him and knocking him off a multi multi-storey building. Yup. Yeah. Don wick is. He killed three men with a pencil, okay? Babo Riley of Riley. Although here's what is weird to me is at the end of John wick chapter two or during John mcdevitt, you, there's a pretty awesome sequence where he's like meeting the gun, Somalia and meeting, the Taylor, and he's like, what kind of what kind of state do you want tactical? And it's like this suit has, like bulletproof lining sewn into it. And then later on he meets the elder gets a new suit, but apparently, that's suit also has the bulletproof lining. So I just like a standard thing now, I've only upgrades, the elder come out. I agree with you, that, like the idea of John wick, having a bulletproof suit is kind of lame. But this movie, I think they showed that the, the knives, first of all it may be bulletproof not quite knife roof. But the idea when they got those super super armed soldiers that was in that was like, okay. Oh, things were difficult again. You have to like it. Yes. The headshot like five headshots. And it's like it's a struggle shoot. I like like that struck neck or use a shotgun. So that was interesting. I like I like the movie did. Interesting idea had interesting ideas from the action perspective. Also a scene inspired by the villainous. I think with the motorcycles, right. Which is. Yeah. Which was vigorous movie of twists when he won the summer movie wager. In a huge anomaly, welcome guys. You're welcome. You're prepared for John wick three. I think that the villainous did it better, but it was very cool sequence. John wick for sure. Well, when he the guy he cuts off his arm, and the arm gets stuck in the motorbike wheel. And that's incredible. I think they're both peoples. Did it pretty well, but villainous does a lot more? CG. Trickery. A lot more camera tricks to make that look like people were actually writing a bike since we're fighting worries this movie it looks like they were definitely writing down the highway quite a bit. So, yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I mean, the camera was doing some pretty impossible stuff. So I, I don't know how they actually did it. But and big shout out to all this asan's who want to kill John wick, but not at the expense of killing a horsey. You know. Yeah. You gotta have standards. You know what I'm saying? It's the rate guys I love how respectful they were. During. The main villain from the raid one end to. Fight. John Wiggins movie, and that is awesome and yeah, I love how respectfully they were of him. And also it felt good to me that, then he didn't kill them after he defense. You know. Yeah. That felt good to me. So, okay. But back to the Halle Berry stuff. Here's the thing that really bothers me of Highbury stuff is we've just had this whole speech that Halle Berry gives about how, like I can't have these people finding my daughter, and I'm thinking to myself as the last eight is some trouble in my life. Okay. And I'm watching this, and I'm thinking like okay like wow. The actual emotional stakes. Maybe we're gonna meet the daughter like it's going to be you've you've got my you have my curiosity now. You have my John wick daughters, right? Yeah. Some of that. And then then she just goes, and then proceeds through jeopardize all that because of her dog, which on the one hand consistent unwanted inconsistent with John McGuinness. But, but, like the reason John wick destroyed Michael Nyquist entire organization in John one is because he had literally nothing to lose. He lost his wife. He his dog had been murdered. So I believe that that character..

But you might fun too, because, of course, they're not going to see this come your nobility, looking I have been possible over how it works. You don't give to work it out. Dying daily point. Walked to be. Oh man. That action, the horse. Horse kicking dude several times, amazing those real horses. Apparently like they were tweeting about this. That wasn't just CG horse deal. You could tell the one horse like started leaving the scene. They're fighting and there, some trainer offscreen going back back. Nellie back. It was. Oh, dude. That was insane. Life is amazing. The night yet fight was my favorite, but the dogs, the dogs dog all I've never seen. I've never seen choreographed. Camera moves with multiple dogs coming from off multiple screen sides doing cool things that have to do it at the exact right moment. Or are you going to screw up this extraordinarily long take with actors doing all kinds of crazy things and explosions going off? And then you've got to trust these dogs to do this. But it's like, okay, sill prelate more like. Silly. Listen this, listen, I've been talking about this because honestly going into it when it started. I was kind of, like you know what I'm like in this much better than than the last one. Yeah. I like I like what they're doing here. And I was I was really with it. Yeah. Everything I say is true. And it's about the time maybe after the first act more. So we're getting into the second when it's now okay? Now it's time to status what this movie's about and long it went on. I was like these movies ain't about shit. I mean yeah they just kinda get silly. No matter how much he gets shot or stabbed he, he keeps going like nothing. So I feel like a consequences and then what they do at the story like, wow, you're really fit in no time kind of working this out. It's just the same thing over and over and over again. Now it's repetitive. It's no, no, I no. don't know what I was gonna say. If you heard me talk about movies length before you've heard come up. I love John wick. And I love John wick to those movies. They're up there with me with movies. I watch over and over again. They're the movies I get online and just wash clips of over and over again love these movies, but I love them because yeah, it was okay might have been far fetched. But it was it to me. That's what I liked about it. It made sense this world that they created, you know, look like they, it looked like they were trying to lease. Yeah, this is a little far fetched, but we're trying to make you believe it right. Because we're looking at the small details and making sure to address those at least for me. So something like it was getting silly. There was another thing to come in and kind of pointed out and say, well, this is what happens like this. Not like that. But this is the first like I said, this is first time I think that they've gone from all right? We're not really concentrating on building this world as much of you wearing. I'm not concentrating on details so much that things actually don't make sense for me for one this world ain't secret. No more. No. You know, there was a time this thing like a shadowy organization. Now they in the full light. They, they hopefully force whatsoever. They kill it. Well they did. They did show police working with them. But I mean that's supposed to be protecting themselves against the average person. And with this one, they just killing people in crowds. Everybody to see I don't, I don't even think that they were ever part of a shadow organization, I think, part of everyday life, people just people just got tired. And just like all right. Fuck you ain't coming after me. Yeah. They kill some people in the subway station in front of regular passengers and people just walking box. By line right there. That was a part where they sliced a man in front of some kids on a field trip. And the kids walk right to the middle of. The teacher was gone by. Yeah, this is like y'all in front of people, and it's not one of those things where you also smoothie yell at my friend. Got a dead body, try to prop it up, like we can burn it's the person falls on the ground. Right. I just kind of like men that there was a time you made it seem like these assassins was so cool. They new places to actually do business, 'cause that's one of the things they say, you know, watch what you do your business, especially in the continental. There are places where they would they kill somebody knew how to make it look like you know, nothing happened..

"Okay. I've missed John wick one and John wick house, John wick three bay about the same. So John whikiss counter Reeves. Halle Berry is in this Laurence. Fishburne all-star cast, and they've been in some of the other released in some of the other ones. So here's the deal. So John wick is a super assassin K, and there is a think of it as the assassins. Union other unionized their guild, if you will. Well, he, he violates the code if you will. So they put a hit out on his head. So this movie is two hours and ten minutes. Hold on a bad thing. Okay. Of John wick, killing people in every conceivable way you can think of. Wow. Actually, one of the jokes is out. There is like that people were trying to keep track of the body count. And they can't. This will be is bloody. Exactly. The story. There's a hit on his head. He has to try to find redemption. This people are now going for the story, I can acknowledge that, you know, know, if you haven't seen one in two you might be a little Austin this. There's a lot of call backs to the previous movies is maybe why things happen and number three basically picks up at the last scene of, of number two, basically. So go back and see to at least two and three but for the type of people that want to go see enjoy John wick one enjoyed John week, to like that kind of action like that kind of death and destruction. John MC three is, is it on steroids on the on the one to five scale I gave John Waco four. Wow. Okay. It's for this is exactly what people expect the care less about

"Our John wick chapter three pair of elbow reviewing XP. We're a great draft next week. We're going to do like whatever you classify John, wick Ethan, hunt and all them as bad ass movie characters. We'll figure something out starting for John tro. I'm excited for John wick. And it's getting great reviews. It is not that I had any fears about the movie a new right? I wasn't scared. I'm just excited for another John Wakeman. I kind of want to watch the first one at least for going into it. I might actually do that as my watch the first one tonight, second kid myself hyped up again.

"He's holding one five more command them that means six took him out. Right. Six people six Cobra henchman took them out -rageous. Ed, it would take five at most. Right. And he's got nowhere near the training of snake eyes. So it makes me really question the training of snake eyes. Or maybe I'm unrest. Meaning the toughness of rake, which I'm not, by the way, I changed my opinion. Fifty took the. Can I just say right here, and this I said pyramid of darkness, and it is the weather dominator series revenge of Cobra. And I realized it as soon as I said it, but then all of a sudden, I didn't wanna cut into your point. But I am the GI Joe guy. I'm supposed to know that off the top of my head on very embarrassed. I just wanted to for you at home screaming at your radios right now. I know I know we put it, right? We put it right? It's we did. Okay. So this is a tactical error on the part of snake is right to you know, he's got multiple and he's trying to escape entering territory. And he starts wrestling with one of the people when the henchman as opposed to just kidding and run it, you know, hit and run hit and run run take and get out of there. That's a tactical error, and who is a master of tactics. John wick John wick doesn't make those areas. The only time if you watch the only time he grapples with with someone is when he doesn't have a choice where they've already latched onto him or with where he's kind of in control the environment. He knows no one else is gonna kinda jump on top of them. So it's a quick kind of grappling submission break. Choke whatever. And he's good to go and he gets up, and he goes whenever he has take on multiple people. He shooting him. He's hitting and running. He's not making the same error in tactics. That snakes. Did in the nineteen eighty s cartoon has I'm saying this out loud. It's ridiculous anyway with multiple opponents again, John we document the taxpayers, but mostly he's gonna shoot his way out. Right. And think is actually had access to kind of a weapon he dropped his weapon and didn't use that in that same battle. So when it comes to tactics on the spot, unexpected fighting, I think with the plan to tax snake is my actually have it when it comes to unexpected who would win type of encounter, John wick is proven just with that instant inference by itself. He's got the better tactics. And better way of taking on that powerful. Ponant? That's my point number two, and well attempted on your apartment, I add. I've got a lot of things to rebut with this first off of the example that you have where he was fighting Duke in the Cobra arena of sport. If I remember correctly. There was some sort of electro chain attached to his ankle holding him to the floor at the time. And also he was in the middle of an arena in a Cobra base where he could be murdered at any given moment. So when you say six guys grabbed him first off he was chained to the floor. Couldn't do a lot about that. And second I would argue he made a tactical. Vision to not to get his butt kicked as little as possible and save his energy for later in that because he knew all of Cobra's here. He's not going to get out of that, John wick if he was chained to the floor, and the Cobra readers sport would hopefully make the same choice. Here's the thing. He was chained in any figured out a way to escape by using the sword to hit one of the tenant broadcast a message using GI Joe special codes. Right. This is where the to grow, man. No this other. Well, right. And as that happened it shorted out, the whatever was chaining both Duke and snake eyes. So when they started fighting their way out they were not held by they weren't chained. So let me just they were fighting their way out though. Correct. Yeah..

"Well, Pontiac is that work for you ring to start. Okay. See this as being a fight. It's a mortal Kombat game where it just starts happening in that it just shifts to different zones at all of a sudden much like the movie kill Bill there now fighting in the snow because that's just how drama works. Josh. What do you what do you think about that point? Your eyes are kind of going like Why's Ray talking now like what what's happening now, I can see where the fight would go as he said and moral. Combat style. The just I watched all the action sequences from the John wick movies before this because I wanted to be ready coming in to have because I will admit, yes. I know my snake. I love my snake. I so I wanted to make sure it was a more even playing field. Good impartial. Judge for the record. I do not appreciate that. But the there's a lot of sequences were John wick and his opponents are being thrown from windows fights travel all across the city. So things that could happen. A lot of different environments that could affect the fights. I agree with that other. It starts honestly, doesn't sway me too much on it because it's going to move. I agree that, you know. The thing about snake is is that he's got all this great training, but his four all these different scenarios. Right. And in urban landscape Ray question, how will his jungle or desert or even his Arctic training should help them in this urban landscape? I could tell you that one his his jungle train is going to teach him stealth. He is a silent assassin. So he can definitely use jungle training to blend in with his environment. He is wearing all black hiding in the. Shadows. His Arctic training would definitely help them. In case they end up outside and some sort of it if it gets cold, I'm assuming they're going to be fighting at night, which the nighttime is very very cold. And you know, what can withstand that easily John wick in a suit might not be able to. Luckily, John was wearing a jacket. So he's got his ARCHE treating cover to believe that. Sure. Okay. I don't have much to say that because it's actually very factual. And just reveals the awesomeness of snake. So I'm going to I'm okay with that point. So let me get to my first point. My first point is called John wick doesn't miss kind of. Okay. So anyone we've seen a John Wingfield knows that the character is highly accurate when it comes to shooting. You know, how accurate you may ask? Well, according to an impo graph created by George hats, someone actually did this John wicks accuracy is actually around eighty seven percent and only less than two dozen rounds fired our ever missed in this movie and keep in mind that this is when it was the rusty is John with one the rusty version of John McCain out for. Right. So how does he now what does this almost super human level of accurate? Accuracy enabled John wick to do. So John is able to carefully predict incense when enemies are approaching with near peak human reflexes this enabled him to be able to outshoot eleven men breaking into his house again with.

"So they having a great time hanging out number cut. He was there and Lance Radic was their lands. Radic was the last person who is not employed by vibe to be at the party is about three o'clock in the morning. And he was literally congratulating people who worked at vibe for participating and engineering intelligence into the culture in a way, I had never seen a grown man, a professional successful actor who's. Like, I wanna thank you for everything that you do to make the world better place. It was the weirdest, but he was a very do three. When he was like, he seemed sober like it wasn't that wild. Anyway, lovely man. So I'm pro concierge. Always thinking somebody in New York. Category. What's the most surprising moment in John wick or the most depressing part of John wick, I'm gonna go through quick number one, John wick has JAMA's I wouldn't expect in that all time assassin. He's got a jam that he puts on to go to sleep at number two, John wick drives a nineteen sixty nine Mustang. This is not a surprise at all this seems like a kind of car that a cool person would drive, and they're always in like Stallone had one and lockup people. Have these cars? Do you have a car like that? You're like when I'm retired whatever retired shea, Nikki, Nikki would is yours. It's a Bronco. Yes. Ford bronco. They're redoing your both are Bronco. That's your answer. That's not my answer. Okay. Ford Bronco like this the redone seventies wanted like one hundred thousand dollars crazy shit like that. I like things I can carry like I like cars can put a lot of stuff in a lot of people. I'm a Jeep Grand Wagoneer guy. Oh with the wood paneling on the side. Nice about went in those are lovely right out of college. And I got like two paychecks, and I'm buying away near two thousand dollars off Craig's list, and then a broke down along later. That's about I'm gonna get a good one. All right, next one. John wick possibly a former marine. He has a tattoo on his back. Yeah. The second marine tattoo that one then seemed like to say for tips for tuna do what was I mean? Fortune favors. The bold demo research I needed. All right. I knew you'd have an answer. This is prising part to me. This was during the Tirah fight Tyronn, John wick she's got him in the crucifix. She sees his wound. And she starts punching a minute. I really does. That was like oh my God. I love that part. Now, really nice because it's like really brutal. We're gonna we're gonna turn volume up here. Bit number five win the guy hits John wick with an SUV like he hits a car that hits Johnson's and flying low that part I would did not see that come that part. I never saw come in. And then when I watch to sound like just because I just read the Keanu cover story, and the directors talking about he I didn't know that he the director was his w matrix my mind is like exploding. So when I think about the fact that he's actually doing all these. So I'm watching it. I get it on my all, but he's doing this shit. And this is going to be my pick this last one, John wick we get a the shot of him. He's watching all the stuff on this phone with his. Life. And there's a part where they're giving each other a kiss, and he's filming himself, even his wife a kiss. And I think that that's just a door -able. But also not a thing you would expect a guy who's killed hundreds of people to use. Oh in love that he said, let me get this. Let me get this selfie kiss. Which of these is the most apprising unless you have more. I watched the movie with my wife for the first time last night. She had never seen it..

"I admire with the fast series has become I would say that about half of those movies. I find borderline on watchable, okay? And John wick one and two are like among my favorite movies to watch that exist. I've been I'm behind. I haven't watched since Tokyo drift and I'm six behind maybe four. So your answer is. Okay. So you're John you stay. I think that the Johnny series is is is better. Okay. It's a little bit better. And just pass is just I mean, we've got so far we've gotten three movies and every single one of them has been better that a little bit better than the last one in the first one started out so high ninety six ninety seven like we're just up here already. You're already teasing three really hard on this post food. He'll Bill have killed alad. Lot of people get point. The last one. The one driving too right now. Oh, no, kill bills, my favorite. And I'm sorry. It's a woman. So now, no, I don't see that. As an action franchise, though, what will ensure it's actually just a long one big movie, and it was shot as one big shot separately. Also, I don't like if tarintino came out and said, I'm doing part three that probably would complicate this. But I don't see it as a franchise. All right. How about the raid as my last one you see the rate? I did not see the you gotta see I'm going to like you've been when. You gotta see it's good. I think pound for pound. The raid might have more exciting action set-pieces. But is definitely not a better movie. That's exactly true. That's exactly what I was gonna say. The fight scenes. You're not touching those fight scenes crazy as a movie like let me fast forward to justify exactly. John wick John lick is at a center, just a cool moving is full of cool characters doing cool things. Thank will. I think we're going to start there for a little categories that we have this is my first category for you. What's the coolest thing? Someone says in John wick that isn't the. Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back monologue. Can't be part of I've got some options for you. Okay. Feel free. Of course throws them in. There if eating I miss something. Here's a good one. Remember the guy that he drowns in the sink in the nightclub as he's dying. His last two words are fuck you. Yeah. I think that's like a cool thing. Also love the guy is comedy from billions. "Want to kind of discuss John wick three. This is Joey when it first came out was a huge surprise everybody on how awesome canneries was in an action movie with killing a bunch of dudes. Now, don't get major cool. But this is more this actually one of these movies that they said the actually change the action. John. Rowe the entire action on how action things are shocked. No, more crazy. You know, slow motion bullets. It's all real live. And he didn't doesn't he doesn't himself. If you Google Keanu Reeves three gun or gun shooting range. He is amazing zeal and he's like. And I I I never liked him as an actor till John wick the desert, see more. He was born several other stuff. He did as a person. Damn Yuki honorees, you're making me like, you know, how dare given his seat up to somebody. Letter three the guy the other Bill and Ted the other guy who Preston Brenston Bill or something he's going to be done with three playing the manual shoveling. No, just kidding. That that'd be great crazy doing the guitar. Yeah. So this is going to be more of a speculation thing. We don't it's still out there. We know who that cast the we definitely know who they cast his back and the hotel. Yeah. The hotel manager maybe at well. I think is the manager. Okay. Hotel hotel, which I I watched told the other night. Yeah. Really wish they actually would make because I I heard streaming that they might make hotel continental show about about body about fanciest chain of those hotels internationally there. Forgive me for him in though. So yeah, but Lawrence fish worms come back. Right. All his character is posing gonna clash heavily with English as because lords Fishburn, the leader of the. Yeah. That was. Yeah. So you got two other big names with Halle Berry. Yes, she's Safiya fasten. We'd be rose potentially rose was she was in jumping to what she did. She was she was one of the main people are right. The thing is like at the end. He I think either shoots our stature. And then he says hold this here, and then he leaves? So we didn't see her by so. Yeah. Well, I wouldn't she wouldn't be top billing was the way. Yeah. But I at the end the also saw where they told him. Hey, you know, we got to come after you. Yeah. Go ahead start. What is it? I looked it up Zeevis pessimism barrow bellum. I guess that's a that's the para bellum is the dumb with three pair of idle subtitles subtitle, and he was excommunicated resigned. So he he screwed up and he killed so many on hotel continental at the let me rephrase spoilers. But you know, if Yeah. I'm. Even one or two people in this movie and two, but yeah. So he p kill. He kills guy in the hotel continental which is rule number one. No, no. It's a big. No, no. So you get you get banned from your assassin club on you because. Yeah. Be safe ground. Yeah. So yeah. So John week three, man. It's going to be apparently he's on a horse that was that was on that Trump is scape. The city, and I guess that was one. There. It is. Yeah. Who's feed is dog? Will he's leaving big pit bull compete himself. Now just goes out and killed scores. Like, wasn't you? Don't wanna do is mess with John wicks is -actly. Oh, you know, the first one was a beagle. Sick was a pit bull. So yeah. Yeah. There was going to be like a miniature horse one isn't a big horse. So yeah, I think I it's going to be one of those movies where you you just got to go watch theaters. But yeah, it's it's it's gonna it's gonna be crazy. I can't wait until it is especially I lords Fishburn and Andy mcshea any machine. I mean, if you're like you oughta Reeves's xactly picture by being. It's the fourth matrix Laurence, Fishburne and canneries. They're they're going to be consuming. It out. Ooh. Ooh. Thank you did see that tied tied it altogether. Matrix, the fourth meet, well, you know, matrix revolutions what I'm saying here joke. Houston's going to be in this also as the director member of the hi this is this is you'll be one of the high ups. I hope this is going to be like the JAMES BOND series. I could I could get behind that get behind that in like five years, John wick is actually in five years. They replace it with with another personal. Yeah. I could see him going following another assassin. I hear here's thing. I think what they're going to do. They're going to do the board series. It's going to it's. Joan week. "Welcome back to the GSM GMC movie podcast. We're going to continue talking a little bit more about the John wick little series. That's going on right now with the first two films out and the third one coming out next year. I do want to say that if you see in the free. So if you're not a really big action like film, kind of person or you just kind of want to see what it's like if you watch the first one, you don't really need to watch the second one because it's just the same thing. Just in a different way. You know, he's killing a whole lot of people for reason. Right. And that's it. I also feel like if you're into action though, you will like both of them, exactly. Because they're in my opinion. They're very well done action film. I mean, mostly because I think you ought Theresa's. Great. And it need to me too. I do like the story lines in in both of them though, because both John wick one and chapter two because it gives you more of an idea of the organization and what I really like about the. Assassinating the assassins organization is how cordial they are to each other which threw me because they're just so polite and gentlemen, they have rules. Yeah. Exactly. Like the the one seen. Oh, they're they're like you can't you can't perform any actions or whatever on some kind of property 'cause because they have like an assassin hotel. Yeah. And you're not allowed to kill anyone exactly like attack another assassin when you're in the hotel. It's like neutral ground. Yeah. Exactly. And they all respect like the rules of the most part. Yeah. Exactly for the most part. But how they treat each other is. So, you know, it's like I said cordial, which is funny to me because they're like all these super killer gangster people, and they're just so nice to everybody in how they talk to each other is just really. Formal too. So I thought that was kind of cool learning about the the world of the assassination people and stuff like that. So I really liked that about John wick in both of them in kind of like learning the deeper t tales of that. And how deep it goes. Because it tells you in part to at the very end how how much of a good contribution these assesses like how they control a lot of things in the world around us. So they're like we can put a bounty on your head. I think in in part to he was talking to one of the like head lead guys, and like lead us asan's or a lead of the organization and was kind of telling John wick, you know, you've broken all these organization rules like I can have a bounty on your hidden a second and just send out a mess. Text or whatever he was just all I do what you gotta do basically. And then soon as you turn around turns around like five people with their phones in their hands. Just look at him. No. Yeah. I know which about John wick, it's like you want him to just be able to just chill and relax because it does give a little bit of back story about why he wanted to quit, you know, after met his wife, his late wife and just kind of wanted to settle down and be out of the business. So you just kind of wish that he wishes. Okay, which he could. Yep. But then you see what he's capable of. You're just like dang. You are you are ruthless. Is he hasn't? He's like I think that's one of the most enjoyable things to be like, you're good at this. Yeah. It was just like in to watch someone who's good at something. It like do what they're good at right?.
