"Where they just on a bad footing there, bad chemistry that's the only thing you can figure out what that? I don't know. Maybe we're going to find out that John T Murray wanted out, but I was really shocked when that came across yesterday. Because, you know, as everyone in the NBA knows, and I'm sure Greg Popovich knows this more than anybody else, that you just don't trade away guys who want a championship for don't trade for Yanis in the rich eisen show fantasy basketball league. You don't do that. Those guys are rare and to be cherished. Like dejante Murray was. Buy me all year long in the fantasy league that I won in the year where I also pegged the eventual winner of the real league in the Golden State Warriors. You those guys just don't get thrown around like manhole covers, you know what I mean? So, but how about that? How about Trey young and dejante Murray in the same backcourt? How about that? By the way, they gave up danilo Gallinari. Is he just the most off traded could be really talented European player, the NBA has had. If you like The Rookie Rubio of his position, what's that about? We're kind of in on Daniel 'cause he's a big guy who can kind of stretch the floor. Definitely can shoot threes, which is a Boston needs. So now pop's got him. And on a rich eyes and show a basketball podcast two weeks ago, brockman was selling us on the idea that Murray was a superstar. Chris is right, man. Man, Atlanta is going to be very happy. Murray, you wouldn't call him a superstar. No, Chris was trying to sell us on the fact that he was a superstar. That's what I'm saying when you say sell, what we were just telling bringing up stars and this and that. I was saying there's a lot of great young stars in the league and I was just kind of going how every team kind of has a young star. And when I said Murray, these guys kind of laughed at me. Why would you why would you laugh at him? I don't think it's as deep. We just, I was like, I was a triple double machine. Well, because we were named 6, 8 weeks stretch of the season. Join us and players like that and then Chris gave a good saying he sold us on the fact that I just liked the hawks are aggressive man. They see that division. I mean, they see that conference as well. And they see what the Celtics just did. And you see that the bucks are only going to get, they're not going anywhere, and the heater, the heat, and the sixers of the sixers, and they sat there right in the middle of the first round and didn't do anything based on the previous year's success. They took a step back. Oh, we want to win a series. I'm just saying the hawks, oh, I'm sorry. I'm talking about the hawks. I was a nice aggressive maneuver by them. And you just come off the draft. It's what a crap shoot it is in the first round of the NBA draft. You draft somebody and they change hats in three seconds. You have no idea who they are. You have no idea what they're coming. Where are they going? What they can do within the system have no idea zero. They seem to be. You might as well might as well get Murray. He's worth everything they just sent. Yeah. Yeah, unless, unless you have a top 5 pick kind of, you're right. You're just kind of rolling the dice in the NBA draft. Whereas like you said, why not trade for a known commodity? Right. So that's what's up with the NBA right now. And free agency begins tomorrow, right? Although the new league year sort of pre tampering window opens up tonight in a way, correct? Yeah, I think it's 6 p.m. eastern is when things might get away. Things get a little bit crazy. That's when Jalen Brunson becomes a New York knick. Is that what happens? I guess. I can not. Let me just sit on this for a good second. Sam amick is going to be joining us from the athletic. Let me just sit here on a second. Because this is going to happen. This is here it is, everybody. New York knick fans. When Brunson signs with the New York Knicks, and I don't begrudge him for taking the money that's coming his way and the city lights are terrific. And you want to play with RJ Barrett, right? I'm assuming Julius Randle will bounce back if he's, you know, if he's there. He's still around there, right? So Madison Square Garden, world's most famous arena. I grew up watching basketball in it. It's still an incredible den. Jim, for big time action, players love going in there and sticking it to the Knicks and you could lead I'm sure you walk around New York City or being wooed by the Knicks, you see James Dolan and his outfits and all of that stuff. And you're thinking, okay, I want to go there. I would think twice before leaving Luka Dončić if I were him. And Mark Cuban, if I were him, and that's just my own warning to him, and all the knick fans, it's coming. When he signs with the Knicks, this is going to be the guy who is Walt Frazier. And Bernard king and Patrick Ewing all rolled up. In a bill of Bradley ball. Okay? And everybody's going to put all their hopes and dreams in him and they're going to be so psyched and the Knicks are going to be back and they're going to act like they just beat the bucks in the first game of the 2000 21 22 season. That wound up with them missing the playoffs. That's my two cents on that. And yes, I am biased. I don't like the Knicks front office. I don't like their owner. It is a wormhole. And this could be one of those moments. And I'd love it for all of my friends who love the Knicks and just blinded by the Dolan. They look past it. They can't get through it. They still love them. How about that? Kyrie and Durant and everybody out there in Brooklyn and they have a team with Simmons and curry and they can put all four of them back together and we were talking to Michael Kay earlier this week and he's like, yeah, I know. When I asked him about how everybody's viewing Kyrie and that town they're like, yeah, I know you guys are talking about it, but in New York, it's still a mixed town. And I'm like shaking my head. I'm like, what are you? I don't understand it..

"You could almost like run Trae Young off stuff like the warriors do with Stephen Curry. Where, hey, let's let them run around and get open off screens and things like that. That's awesome. But Trae Young's always had the balls whole life, right? So he's, you know, guys used to kind of do this thing with the ball. So I don't know, I don't hate this. I just have to see how it all played out on what the package would be. And then if you're the hawks, then you gotta, my guess is then Kevin herder, John Colton, maybe John Collins isn't in this deal, but he's in another one. Because that's just, you'd be, you'd be massively expensive, and they're clear. You're not gonna pay that much money for a team that they'd be very good, but off that launch them in a title contention. Yeah, I agree. I don't know if it would either, but it depends on what moves are coming after that. I mean, I don't, I think the hawks make multiple moves this summer. I don't think it's going to be just one. I mean, John Collins obviously would be a big one, but if you're getting to John cha Murray, what can they do from there to add pieces to that? The future picks like if I'm the hawks and I feel pretty confident that those are going to be late picks that we're going to be good. I'm okay with dejante Murray is really, really good. It's just a matter of figuring out how to make the fit work. Yeah, absolutely. Hey, just to we're going to keep getting Kyrie stuff. Just tweeted without the ability to find a sign in trade, deal Kyrie Irving plans to exercise this 36 million sources confirm. So which is what we've been saying about it can't be a sign in trade, it would have to be an opt in and train. Unless it was maybe it was going to be signed and traded to Orlando. That would be absolutely hilarious, but I don't think that's how it was going to go. So yeah, right. Yeah. Yeah, the hawks are yeah, you're right. I think this would be move one of probably multiple. That off we go. All right. Well, next up, I'm still seeing all this stuff popping up here. Something that did happen, Steve Clifford, the new credit coach of the hornets, not by D'antoni. The once and future coach of the hornets, what do we think about Steve Clifford landing back in Charlotte? Yeah, I like Steve Clifford quite a bit got to know him well when he was here in now kairi's tweeting stuff. I don't know. Yeah, it's funny. I just came in just before your tweet, which was good. The resample. Yeah, I don't know. I spent too much time parsing curry stuff. Two years ago, I don't want to do it anymore. All right. Steve Clifford, Steve Clifford. Got to know him here in Orlando when he was the head coach of the magic. I think he's a really good coach. This says to me though, the hornets, this whole idea of all that miles bridges walk and we'll pivot. Maybe a little bit..

"And it's always Chris Paul. And I'm like, yeah, okay, sure. If you could add Chris part of this team or what's the other one that everybody likes to put that like, oh, dejante Murray. Like, we had to talk about shante Mary it all. And I love the John Tay Murray. I just don't see that as kind of feasible. I think that I think the story should keep the shot de Marie. I just would build around that. So I don't really find that as a viable solution. People are throwing Rubio at me and I'm like, no, Rubio, the ship has sailed on Rubio. The idea of Rubio was wonderful, but the actual Rubio itself. There's no point guard out there that like does the Malcolm Brogdon is not as good as Marcus smart, sorry, and his hurt way more. The guys that people offered to me as explanations are bad. And this comes back to a thing that Seth talked about earlier and I think we've almost maybe spoken on this. But I know Seth and I have talked about this. If you, if you take Marcus smart out of the point guard position, you automatically devalue your team because it's what Marcus and Marcus smart not might not be a point guard, but he guards point guards and he allows you to guard up and guard down on the entire roster. Marcus did an amazing job against Giannis, guys, like for a guy that's 6 foot, whatever, the fact that he could hold his own against Giannis is amazing. He's never afraid to mix up with bigger guys. And the thing that blows my mind when anything else is the fact that people can't see that point Tatum is the future, like LeBron James never happened. Like Kevin Durant's never happening, like Giannis isn't doing the same thing, like Luke is not doing the same thing..

"Probably my favorite guy in this draft. Very cool. Yeah, everyone loves him. And he's like the exact type of player. Classic spurs pick, right? Everybody on NBA Twitter, everybody who analyzes the draft. No one's really saying anything bad about him. He's a modern player, fits defensively guards multiple positions, selfless can go into any system. Plays with an edge? Yeah, so I love that pick makes a lot of sense for where the spurs are and who they also already have on their roster. And not trading Dijon Murray. Also, big win for the spurs. It's really crazy how many rumors his name is popping up into. I don't like that. I'm not surprised you don't like it. I don't like it because it's like, I don't think the spurs are trying to squeeze value out of digit Murray. I don't think that it makes any sense whatsoever. To get scared about paying him the max when his current deal expires. He's young he just made an all star team he improves every single year. He's exactly what you go down the line. Every team that's good is like, I wish we had Dijon day Murray. How do we get to John T Murray? He's just a cultural tone setter for the spurs and a team that's trying to build itself back up. He's the last player I want to say. Yeah, he is the last player from who's played with Manu and Tony and was there when Tim Duncan was on the sidelines and around the organization every day and I think that matters. So I would just be stunned if they moved him. I don't think they're trying to and to see his name and all these rumors just like, I don't know, it's kind of a silly. It's a bummer. I hope they don't move on from him. Yeah, it'd be nice if they could find a way to get a star. In San Antonio without having to give up too much because like sohan, Dijon, those are nice pieces. Those are nice pieces. I liked what the hornets did in just getting their center. Yeah, got the center they wanted. And then moved on the other pick and yeah. I like that Mark Williams, my guy, my boy. God, they desperately needed a center. Yeah, and they got one who I think could be maybe the best defender in this whole draft. We'll see. It's actually a 99 mantra now might not be playing..

"Impossible one and done situation with they are, which they're in now in the 9 ten matchup. But low key Trae Young has had a first team all NBA type season and he's really, really putting it together as one of the best all around guards in the league. Yeah, I think he led the league in total points and total assists this year, which he did the same in college, which is a sad that's unreal to think about because yeah, it's like he didn't win the scoring title, but to have the most amount of points out of anybody is really incredible. He's his total superstar. I mean, 28.4 points per game. And 9.7 assists. He was incredible this season. Yeah, incredible. He's durable. That trade with Luca. I mean, I still think that Dallas got the best of that. But Atlanta still ended up with a superstar number one guy who can eventually be the number one guy in a championship team. So yeah, he's had a great year. He's still super young. I think John Collins is out against tonight, which is a huge loss for them, especially with the pick and roll that they like to do with him. So yeah, they've had a disappointing season. They made the Eastern Conference Finals last year, right? Yeah. Yeah, so they've had a disappointing season. I think they win tonight and end up losing in the first round and then retool next year. So yeah, I think that's fair. TJ, I mean, Charlotte is one of those teams. Kind of don't know which team is going to show up. They're one of those teams like they'll score one 38 one game and then throw up 97 the next and you're like, oh, that's weird. But they are young. They are exciting. Miles bridges is awesome and Terry Rozier can fill it up and of course we'll know a ball. But let's talk about the other game tonight. The one that's kind of flying out of the radar, non sexy, I guess, is a way to describe this game, spurs and pelicans. You looking forward to this or can we just kind of move on? I mean, I mean, personally, look, the game that doesn't seem to be that sexy. So something in the back of my mind's telling me watch. This might be the game of the whole playing. JS 48. I mean, look, you have the spurs and there's still coached by Greg Popovich, so you know they're going to be ready tonight. And I think I'm going to go with the pilzer believe it or not. I don't know that I like them, but I think that there is I think getting CJ McCollum really helped them, especially in lieu of not having Zion all year. I don't know, man. I just got the feeling that they might pull this out tonight and move on to that. I think I could actually play more than three people on the spurs Adam. John day Murray. And then who else? Oh, they have pulled off Acapulco. Avery Johnson, Sean Elliott. Yeah, these teams. At least sexy matchup by far. They've got Johnny Moore at the point, they've got George gervin. By the way, you guys, you guys heard of John anymore before right now. I have because he has that card from the 86 flir series that's worth a ton of money. Oh wait, really why? Yeah, so Johnny Moore has a card and apparently it was incredibly rare for it to be a gem mint and apparently it's like most of them are like off center, like all of them. So if you get like a gem Mitt Johnny Moore, it's worth like 40 or $50,000. I knew about the car. I didn't realize it was that much. But it's incredible. Moore played point guard for the spurs late 70s, early 80s actually led the league in the cis one year when magic was in his run. And more impressive than that, he is where he went to high school. Did you go to your high school? He went out to high school. Amazing. And his mother is my godmother. Hey. So Johnny Moore is my God brother. How about that? That's incredible. Man, that's really cool. Yeah, because when Drake was pulling 86 87 flair with Ken gold, they were looking for Johnny Moore cards. Instead, they only got four Michael Jordans. I'm gonna have to hit him up, see if he has any of these at the crib somewhere. We should pull our money together and buy a box at 86. Should we do it? How much did that cost? It's like 40 grand. It's tax season. No money for that right now. I need some socks to start booming. All right, let's talk 20 time really quick here in the last few minutes, guys. Episode 6 this week, right? Episode 6. Winning time, we've moved on from the Jack McKinney injury. He's in the hospital. We haven't moved on. Not just me. It was like that night. Yeah, yeah. I'm saying we haven't moved on from him saying the injury has happened. The bicycle accident has happened. He is in a coma, Paul west head takes over and we're kind of going through all of that. What did you guys think of this week's episode, TJ, anything, jump out at you? What jumped out? Like I said, going back to last week's episode. So it actually watching that bike accident was just terrible to see. It's just so traumatized. And you got to wonder really think how that changed the course of basketball, but the Lakers still went and won those 5 championships in that time period where he could have been the coach. So I love what ifs and you kind of wonder what if he had stayed coached with this if still happened as Adam and I have talked and you've talked he's definitely seemed to be the architect of that run and gun that showtime style. So I thought it was really interesting though with Jason Segel's portrayal of coach west said and isn't it weird that there's a west head in the westfall like I always get these two they're both named Paul. Just very weird. You know, he was a guy who seemed very uncomfortable, right? Yeah. And then you could see like he never really got, by the way, we all know we don't know what's real and not self. We don't know what's real what's not real, that stuff has gotten changed for TV. But didn't seem like he ever got that respect from doctor bus. Like he didn't even know his name. He wouldn't really even acknowledge him when he walked in the rooms, you know? So it's going to be interesting to see now going on, obviously we know what happens. We know what happens. Throughout the season, but I'm going to see how he's able to get that team the rally around him. He was going out there, he's making Shakespearean quotes that are leaving people baffled. He doesn't seem comfortable. He seems a little nervous. But he's a guy who seems like he does know basketball, but you can know a lot, right? As a teacher, but if you don't really have that ability to communicate to your students, that's going to cause problems. Obviously it did. And we'll get to see what those problems were. Yeah, I'm really curious because Adam, I'm sure you read the same article that I do each week when they kind of break down what through and what isn't. One of the big things that Paul westhead was struggling with was what to do in the starting lineup because they were playing Denver that night and David Thompson and obviously David Thompson an absolute beast that's scoring machine if you don't know much about him, but scored 73 in a game. Yes. Yeah, Michael Jordan looked up to him. Looked up to him, right? Third most all time, right? 73 in the game. So they were trying to figure out what to do with him defensively whether they start Haywood or put Michael Cooper on him. Well, they put, they put, he starts Mike and Michael Cooper in the show, but in real life, the starting lineup didn't change at all. And so I'm just curious why they kind of went with that. What are they setting up here? It seemed like they might have been hinting at this might be the beginning of Spencer Haywood problems. He went through a terrible cocaine addiction in the 80s..

"Don't think and there's times where Tatum still will go one on 5, one on three or whatever, but for me, I think that they just have to get shots to go down. Like they just, they've got to get some luck, right? Let me cut you off there. I'm sorry. I guess let me ask you this because to me and I'm not going after you. A lot of people say this. Doc Rivers is famous for saying it. I think the whole make miss league thing and you know it's a matter of shots falling like to me it's just it's really cliche. I guess what I wonder from you, like are you happy with the shot selection? If you're happy with the shot selection then fine like shots need to fall water will find its level all that good stuff like you're talking about. But if you're not happy with the attempts they're taking and their offensive strategies and the way just they're playing on that end of the floor, that's a whole other issue. Yeah, I think their offense could be very choppy at times shot selection definitely questionable, but when you don't have a rim runner in the lineup like Robert Williams, it just limits you usually easy baskets, they create with Williams in the game. Like you see because he's a rim runner. He gets up, just flip the ball up there, dunk. That's easy hoops. The Celtics work too hard for the baskets. That's one thing. Secondly, I just think guys who have been shooters and starting situations just aren't stepping up like Richardson in the mid range, he's really a very good mid range shooter, Tatum from three Schroeder has been really streaky. You know, so I think it's a matter of just stuff kind of lovely off, but I also think without Robert Williams and that rim runner, you don't have the easy buckets. You're working too hard for baskets. And then there's times where they get, they stop moving the damn ball. You know, like, you know, the Brooklyn game. They just stopped moving the ball. Too much ISO. San Antonio, they tried to put an emphasis on it. And then what happened at them? They missed 21 of their first 26 shots. And that doesn't happen. Like, that's just, you know, and then they missed the last 5 down the stretch, and it San Antonio gang was so frustrating for them. I'm sure because that's a team they should be. And they basically shut them down after a really, really terrible start. And then it couldn't, you know, to turn off the John T Murray. I think that they need to just keep Robert Williams on bubble wrap because they think he does so much for their offense. Al has got to start getting shots. But also, I do think as much as it's like not itself the cliche, I do think it's a matter of more shots going down. But they're not going to be a great offensive team. They're not going to be a warriors. They're not going to just score on a 25 points a day. They're going to have they're going to win one O 8 99. Something like that. And you also got to get your tapes from help. You also have to get to the free throw line more. You know, they've got to do little Toronto. They got to the free throw line a bunch of times..

"In january february. We might as well save our best draft capital for that which is why i think status quo may be more likely but davonte what do what do you think why. I think that you could always expand new orleans trade. Also and i would think that molitor and lear guys in new orleans would maybe have a little bit of interest in motorized the thirty nine percent. Three point shooter damian Forty percent on pretty high volume. You know for the amount of minutes those two guys played so i think that's an interesting trade for both sides. I'm not if feels like the dropped from seven to ten isn't as big today as it felt like a month ago especially with jonathan mingo floating around. Nobody has any idea where he's going at. This point in guys like moody is raised. The stock giddy has really good momentum behind them wagner. It seems like the entire league likes so. I think it's a it's a pretty interesting trae like you said it's very complicated though. Here's another one. You ready for this one. These are like these strikes me is on the clock trades like guy that i like. Is there at seven Warriors are taking him just to just to squeeze me or as part of an agreement or guy that i like is gonna fall here whatever. So here's one wiggins and number seven to sacramento for harrison barnes dolan right and number nine that relies on sacramento being like. There's a guy at seven that we just absolutely love. We can't get them 'cause you're taking him. We'll do this. does that. strike either. You're allowed to give his laughing at me. Why are you laughing at me. I'm in my head is exploding right now. I'm just trying to get through this drops out. It's complicated and trying to figure out who's gonna be drafted and who is going to go in the first row. You know so. I can't even think about all this right now. That was pretty good. I thought that four fetched like like i. I don't love that. For sacramento barnes. Better than andrew wiggins as a fit for the warriors i think harrison barnes is better than andrew wiggins as for the kings. I don't really know it. Just would rely on the kings being like. I'm just hell bent on getting this particular guy at seven and you're taking him well if that guy is the great franz wagner who we keep mentioning the and you think he's not gonna make two nine then maybe that is something you think about you know like if you think he's a top five player in this draft and you got to move up to get him You know maybe that does make sense. And i think he's highly attractive. Just because like i mean he he might give the other day he he might be six ten six eleven now. He's younger than jalen suggs. Evan mobely sheriff. Cooper like a lot of the freshmen in this draft. So i think team see him as a guy who can come in right away in play like three positions In has a lot of experience. So that's that's why is highly coveted. And that's why. I think that trait could potentially make sense. If they really are in love with him to me it feels like sacramento is more likely to move down or out of this draft them up. Because you know the talk you hear around the league is that they really wanna make a playoff push next year. And they're looking for veteran guys. They want contributors. They are really looking at bringing rashawn homes back in. So i don't know. I mean i mean it's an interesting trade but I i feel like sacramento here. More with teams behind them at thirteen. I mean they were also candidates. Seventeen with orleans and you might burst my bubble. That's fine come on my podcast and burst my bubble a lot of sean homes going back to sacramento buzz. We'll see on august. Whatever the moratorium the fake moratorium starts. I played around with the magic because they have five eight like weakens and seven for terrence. Ross gary harrison. Eight that feels like what's the point of all of that and the warriors would probably be like. We think is better than both parents. Ross and gary hair so we don't care well we'll give you wiggins and fourteen for that. Same package in the magical. Ignore fourteen stinks. Talks over like it's just it's just hard. I saw a grizzlies blogger. And i'm forgetting it was last night pitch slow mo who's on an expiring like slowest good. He's coming off. A career season shot to three. Well scored well. But he's on an expiring and he's gonna wanna get paid. If he has another season like he just had so the pitch was like slow mo tires jones bledsoe and i don't even know what can be aggregated. I'm late devonian. My head is exploding from all this. Let's just pretend that he can and like a lakers. Pick in the jazz pick that they own in twenty twenty. Two for wiggins and seven in my reaction is the warriors. That's a hard no because we need ten. We're not we're not like it's nice that you're giving us all the stuff entice jones's alright islam was alright and bledsoe's what he is but those pigs are good enough. We need ten. And i think that's where the conversation following these are just hard traits to make. I mean that's that's that's the bottom line. Have we missed any warriors angles. That you guys wanna hit. It seemed i still think forty eight hours out. The most likely scenario is the warriors are just picking two guys at seven fourteen. But i don't know how. I don't know what the odds of that anymore does it. Does it do either of you disagree. No i think you keep hearing that. They're gonna take one swing at the highest prospect. The best long-term prospect on the board which could be jonathan coming seven. And then they're gonna go safe at fourteen. I mean they'd love to get debut on. Mitchell is probably not there so started looking at guys. Like chris. Dr dre like trae murphy. You know shooter zek and play a role immediately. So that's what we're hearing right now but anything can happen over the next fifty four hours or whatever it is what about derek whyte acne derrick derrick way does john say murray and number twelve for wiggins in seven the spurs probably say. That's too much white and marie or too good so then we go like what about white pertile in some filler wiggins and seven then i think the warriors and then i just gave up i gave up. Let's stop talking about the freaking warriors win the play in tournament. And we'll talk about you a little bit. More basketball season has come to an end. But the anticipation for next season is just beginning with the draft. Whether your team is the first or the last pick draftkings is bringing the excitement to you..

"Like you know what you're up against. And they know that their chance in this series is now slim to none as good as yogurt is going to be because Not only the sun scoring the ball, but they're defending it as well. And they just don't seem to have a weakness right now. Or you can beat them four times in what's not only five games for Denver. And also you know what? Last night was another reminder of in a blowout loss? How if if you were somebody that mocked the idea of Nicola Yokich winning MVP, and there are people that Basically towards the stretch. We're still talking about wealth and be didn't get hurt and harden got didn't get hurt. I understand it. Think about what yoke. It just carried the Nuggets, too, since Jamal Murray has gone down Look at that roster around the Denver Nuggets. It really, especially when Aaron Gordon only scores six points, and it's a bad night form. And Michael Porter Jr gives you 11. But when you start looking at the box score and you start just actually sizing up in on paper roster. Nicola Yokich, carrying that basically dead corpse of the Denver Nuggets without John Jamal Murray to the second round. That is an M V P like that isn't just again continues this light of the NBA of understanding how super teams get formed. Because if you are a great MVP caliber superstar You are still, in essence, nothing in terms of close the hardware without a great supporting cast. And that's not your fault, because, as I mentioned Jamal Murray was there, they might have that chance to go to the finals. But Chris Paul landing in this spot with Devin Booker with DeAndre Ayton. This was the perfect recipe for him as a superstar as well to have that cast around him. No matter how great you are as a star, you are nothing without that great cast also around you. Which is why I'm kind of fascinated by what's going to happen with Damian Lillard because to me, he's become like the patron saint of loyalty and sticking it out and staying where you are and trying, which is which are all good things. But it doesn't make the other choice, necessarily the bad choice. And now here's Lillard, who maybe is considering angling his way out of Portland to go to a better situation. So then now what do you do? If you like a day me, Lord has been your guy. And you know he he wants to win a point state important for is, you know he's been started yet a four year almost $200 million extension that kicks in now. If he's now going to be a nick or of Celtic or something after you know, after the after this You got nothing left to kind of cling to in terms of. Well, you can't move around. You can't change teams because all of us choose the harder road to success, and we should expect NBA players do the same thing here, so I can't wait to see Not that I want bad things to happen to Portland. But I've always defended guys, their ability and their choices to move around and join these super teams. Whatever. And Lillard's always the one that gets correctly kind of pushed back at me. But if you lose Lillard, I don't know what what else you have left its every year that passes in the NBA. It is harder. Harder to fall superstars for Bolding and forming super teams. It really is true. Now you have a couple good tweets here. Bogus Daniel Tweets in at more as CBS at Andrew Bogus. Unlike Mike Michael Malone, Morales never has a problem finding five guys. I know that's a shot. Hamburger reference, by the way, Yes, if you don't know what five guys are. It's a chain hamburger, which, by the way, excellent fries. They give you that bag of fries. And I think, since they might have gotten rid of the peanuts, it used to be peanuts all over the place, but he's got allergies now. I was going to say they used to. They were the only place that thumb their nose at the peanut allergy. It used to be just barrels and bags and burlap sacks of peanuts, daring you to come in and not die. Now I do have to say I love I love five guys. I'm a sucker for it, but it's like a once or twice a year thing for me. Because, frankly, that's one of those clear the calendar for the next six hours after you know what I'm saying, That's that's situational. I do. I mean, the fries. Do you get the Cajun seasoning on their fries? Of course, right. But then they give you the fries in a paper bag, and by the time you get home if you're not even the restaurant, the oil of the fries has eaten through the bottom of the bag. And it's like is that like next from my stomach And it sounds like it is for you. So like that is like I feel like five guys needs better packaging to not remind me about what I'm about to do to my insides. So I go flip on that I love five guys packaging because I see that Greece tripping through and it makes me feel like it's delicious. You can't commit to a burger place and go. I'm looking to keep it light on it. You commit you're looking for that problem is And you gotta commit something else later, which I've been down there. But Daniel, look, that's a good tweet. But like if you named other types of stores, I could probably tell you where there is one just based on driving past it. Not that I've ever been inside of it. I've never gone pal, You said. Then they squashed it, but he I keep the dream alive. Yes, seriously. We're working on other cures. So one of the great things about Steve Kerr is that he comes on October and Kruger and Brooks every week and his great relationship with Tommy's pays off for can be our And so he always good. Good. Good. Good conversation. We'll steal some of it here. Okay? And here he is, just kind of given the over. Maybe the overview of this team and where they're headed. We have a lot of flaws were not boxing out where the worst rebounding team in the league we have lapses defensively in our coverage is sometimes we go stretches on offense where we're not executing the ball's not moving. But having said all that we've got great guys who are athletic and long and active, and most importantly, they really care. They're competitive. They want to win and they're connected. And I can tell you mean through 13 games. Every coach would tell you we love coming to the gym every day and seeing these guys Produced great. The vibe is great, and that Z such a huge part of all this and you know now it's a matter of typing everything up and getting better at all Those details because if we can build better habits now weaken relying on on that stuff to win games when we don't have the energy and the emotion like we had last night, so that's that's the next step. But for now, I'm really, really pleased with where the team is. Republic. Are you really pleased with where the seven and six warriors are? Oh, relatively? Yeah. I mean, it's so early in the season. I mean, I expected more or less kind of what we're seeing, which is a team trying to find its footing. It's there's a lot of new faces out there. It's gonna take time to gel. So yes, 76 is more or less. You know, 500, please. And I agree with what he said to about And this is a reflection of Kerr and his staff and Mike Brown and all those guys he has in the building. Bruce Frazier and all these guys Um, is that they have a good culture and a lot. We've said this a million times was worth repeating It all flows from curry too. Because if you have if you have Kyrie Oh, he could be gone for seven days. You know what I mean? You guys figure it out. You've got curry and he's just there. You know, I wanted he wants to make everybody better. He wants to make everybody feel good. He wants simply great. I mean, then you get you get the added benefit of playing essentially with a coach on the floor and dream on Greene, who's just like constantly teaching, even during games, you know, as a sort of wacky his dream on is he's never. He's never disappeared for eight games you No, no, no. He might speed through a tunnel every now and again, But he ain't disappearing. Exactly Or he might do a Mets Giants gave me two of you might do some artistic photo shoots here in there. But, you know, I mean, you gotta shoot your shot. Yeah. Oh, boy. Yeah, you two uh, Here's here's one worker was talking to the boys yesterday about Damian Lee. Okay, I guess in the end, something that kind of escaped us was that he He played great D on the final possession against the Lakers. Now that was a huge play and one of one of the big plays of the game, And it's one of the reasons Damian is always out there at crunch time. He's so smart. He's obviously a neck Solent shooter and a really good offensive player for us, But he understands the game. You know, he understands place like that, where he has to make the right rotation. Otherwise we're going to give up move, and then the game is on the line. And then you know, dreamin comes over. On bumps him out of there and then Damian races over to the weak side to cover up. You know, whoever would have been open. That's basketball. That's beautiful Transition defense. So came on the line. It was great to see Damian make that play. Area. Go, Daniel, You think it was a shooter? Only check out his defense and he is on the floor at crunch time. It is interesting that Yeah, who they go with infrequently. Damon Lee's getting huge minutes down the stretch. It's kind of my crush this year. Paul have told Is he okay? My guy Kurt, talking about getting back in that game. You know what? That Laker game was centered around, or I shouldn't say centered around. But two huge moments for one dream on drove on the pick and roll. Yes, scored right. Yep, And this happened twice in curses that the bread and butter that got them the winner of the Lakers. We've got to keep growing and understanding out of play together as a group, you know, with staff with Raymond and you know, the down the stretch last night was a good example of that. It was great to see three Mon score a couple of times and, um, you know, we got back to the old days of the closing games with dream on Steph, pick and roll and How's Looney did a great job with that group getting to the right spot, and Kelly and Andrew as well? So it especially to see Kelly and Andrew kind of feel that that happened. Pick your old game being the right spots just to keep the right spacing was definitely a big deal, and it's a big part of this early season is for guy's toe. Just get comfortable together and understand. You know how how this has to work. All right, man, Fun stuff. Warriors get never that that big win over the Lakers and get ready to take on the Spurs and I probably the Spurs are okay. There there, eight and six and have won two in a row. And, you know is playing well is Patty Mills? Yeah. You sound mildly surprised. Yeah, I kind of gave up on the Spurs. I thought they might go into a long winter after you know, and not with pop around, though, man, he finds a way to get the most at all his guys. You mean he always does. Well, last year was the first year they missed the playoffs in a full season under under Popovich, and I thought, Maybe that was the sign that they were heading down. I hear you. I hear you right right now. I mean, who knows? But yeah. What I want to do with pop. Very good. It's Zaheer. It's Patty Mills. And it's a damn Arthur Rosen and John to Murray. How Kim Jong Un is 'playing' President Trump
"Well. It's been more than a year since since Donald Trump and Kim Jong UN at Singapore and a month since they meeting on the North Korean side of the demilitarized iron. This is the first time a sitting U._S.. President has has ended the hermit kingdom. It was an extraordinary visual as president trump took the final steps north toward the line separating north and south South Korea a smiling Kim Joan walking briskly to meet him the first time a sitting American president has ever stepped foot inside the reclusive estate another handshake before the cameras will historic events to be sure but the jury is still out true Pyongyang has released U._S.. Hostages halted nuclear and until last week missile tests and signaled a willingness to at least talk about denuclearization. It's is a far cry from two years. AGO is an remember trump's foreign fury threats North Korea best not make any more threats to the united rated states they will be met with fire and fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never ever seen before thank you or rocket man's provocations rocket man should have been handled a long time ago the little rocket man. We're going to do it because we really have. No Oh choice in data one point North Korea's foreign ministry even warned Australia was coming within the range of the nuclear strike that said Pyongyang Anyang has hinted it might resume nuclear and missile tests if the U._S. South Korean military exercises continue well. Let's get an update on North Korea as well as its thirty five year old dictator from N._F._l.. Field She's been in Asia correspondent for the Washington Post and before that the Financial Times terms for several years she's being closer than almost any journalist to the North Korean regime having visited there regularly over the past fifteen years recent book is called the great successor the secret rise and rule of Kim Jong UN as published by John Murray when my colleague Hamish Macdonald Interviewed Food and a few weeks ago I actually rushed to the bookstore and I bought a copy of it and I have to say it's an absolutely outstanding book. Anna welcome to between the lines are thank you very much. Tell them what a great introduction. Don't do it often but it's very good now. Pyongyang's last nuclear test was nearly two years ago it lasts launched a long range missile all in November two thousand Seventeen Tissot a few short range weapons since then Donald Trump would say that's that's gripe progress. Isn't it yeah I mean He. I would say that that's great progress. I mean certainly as you said it's a shop change from where we were two years ago but I think this is all very tactical from Kim engines perspective and really he's been in the driver's seat the whole time he has been calling the shots here so through two thousand seventeen he was firing missiles at seemed like every second day he conducted these two nuclear tastes including one that was a demonstrably a hydrogen bomb and then in when he was ready at the end of November two thousand seventeen when he said he'd completed his nuclear program he was signaling that he was ready to. I'm back on this charm offensive that we saw over the course of last year and that's because he feels like he's in a position of strength now he he's showing that he's made astonishing progress with missiles and nuclear weapons and he wants to be seen now as the responsible and respected leader of a nucleus date and of equivalent to Donald Trump and she's paying and let me a potion and that's where we're at now in Washington has made it clear that it wants Pyongyang to make concrete steps steps towards denuclearization before it's willing to as I sanctions that limit North Korea's tried but you know until recently the consensus was that Kim Jong Hoon was was really a madman because he really wanted these nuclear weapons. is He really crazy. He has not crazy he has coldblooded and ruthless but he is definitely not a rational not a nutjob as president trump wants colt him and you know to point to the evidence for that is the simple fact that he he is still in power almost eight years on he's defied all the expectations that he would be too inexperienced and too young to take over this this regime and he's done it by acting in a very rational strategic way <hes> to take control of North Korea so a part of that is embarking on this nuclear program which enabled him to both fend off the outside world as well as kind of a AH show strength internally give the general something to be proud of gives the ordinary people something to be proud of and they are proud of it. North Koreans have told hold me that there are especially proud that have managed to do something that <hes> South Korea and Japan have not been able to do so this is like old pot of his is plan I think and and now the face to of that plan is this charm offensive that we're now into try to be seen as an international statesman to be the <hes> you know normalizing his leadership and coming out into the outside world and most of all now he's turning to the economy and trying to develop L. at North Korea's very very backwards and decrepit economy because he knows that that's where his legitimacy could have trouble that if he is not able to show the people of North Korea that life is getting better under his leadership he may begin to have trouble keeping crowded you along kimes primary goal here is survival but let me put this to you. Anna surely the only way the North Koreans Happens <hes> no way whatsoever that he feels he needs them for his security. <hes> you know when he was taking over just two months before he took over the leadership of North Korea Moammar Gaddafi was dragged out of a ditch and Libya and beaten and killed in a very brutal way that must be seated on Kimberlin's uh-huh brain that this is what happens to a leader who strikes a deal with the United States to give up their nuclear capability so I cannot say anyway he would relinquish everything but I think he may relinquish. Something and I actually think president trump's doing the right thing here. It is time to talk to North Korea because decades needs of isolating North Korea have not solved the problem of isolation has allowed North Korea to develop nuclear weapon so you're in agreement. He said that in the trump era it's clear that the political consensus consensus including in Washington it's come around so trump's view that talking to North Korea is a good thing but could trump shift the consensus further if he decides Washington can actually live with a nuclear North Korea well. I'm not sure that Washington has come round. There are many detractors in Washington and of president trump's approach and many skeptics about denuclearization but I do think that this current phase is the right approach to be taking because we should be engaging with North Korea. There should be some progress here. You know maybe they can't get them to give up his nuclear nuclear weapons that you know they can get him to stop firing them. That could get to stop threatening them. You know if there was more engagement with North Korea the people of North Korea would have more exposure go to the outside world be able to open their eyes to the truce which they get precious little off in North Korea so there are lots of benefits to be had there that you you know not necessarily denuclearization per se that is a very very tough thing to reach but there's a lot of wiggle room between nothing and full utilization so Kim plying trump here. He's he is getting all the attention but he's conceding nothing yeah in many respects. He is playing trump. I mean trump is waxing facing lyrical about Kim jong-un explaining why the human rights abuses talking about how they fell in love assures an opinion that Kim Jong UN does is not share Kim's on pragmatic about it but can learn his won him over without having to do anything at all other than show up. You know it's old style. Dale no substance so the question is how long Kim Jong and can continue to string donald trump along like this. He knows that Donald Donald Trump is a very unconventional American president. He's unlikely to get anybody else like him again. So if Kim Jong UN is going to cut any kind of deal he needs to do it while Donald Trump is power and actually one of the things I discovered in the course of reporting this book was that the North Korean diplomats in New York had actually gone to visit a very very famous Korean fortuneteller in Manhattan to us as president trump would be reelected. That's how concerned they are but how good is the word of the United States because as as you will know the George W Bush administration did a deal with Gaddafi that he relinquishes nuclear program and yet Bush's successor. Obama helped sleet if it's to topple Gadhafi well. That's why I think that Kim Jong will never give up his nuclear weapons because that's the thing about democracy right we change. Litas is so he cannot be assured than whoever succeeds Donald trump whenever that is will stick to the same line so yeah. He's not giving those up. My guest is n._F._l.. I feel she's the author of the great successor the secret rise and the rule of Kim Jong on intriguingly the U._S. subtitle for the book is the divinely perfect perfect destiny of brilliant comrade Kim Jong Un. Let's turn to your book because clearly this is a secretive and paranoid regime that makes it very difficult to find reliable information about king John on now based on your research including interviews with defectors and members of the family. What can can you tell us about Kim. Yeah I sit out to talk to every person who never met him are to be able to put together this portrait of him and the picture that emerged this child is person who lived such an ebb normal antisocial life came from such a dysfunctional family emily. There's really no way he could've turned out any differently from the ruthless person we see before us today as a when he it was growing up in North Korea's little princeling he lived a life of absolute luxury but also of isolation in these royal compounds that scattered around North Korea he had xbox games or whatever the equivalent was then and imported food and watched movies and and his own zoo his father had a car adapted for him so you could drive it when he was a small child so he wanted for nothing except for friends he had no friends he did not go to school. He had a Tutu came to the house. He didn't even know his half siblings from his father's other relationships so he he just had his only tuneful siblings. That's only at to play within that led him to latch onto anybody he could and one of the people who became a kind of playmates inmates to him when he was seven years old was this Japanese Sushi chef who I interviewed several times in Japan and he had gone into the household there and Kim John had let sean to him and he used to the shift used to take him fishing and flying kites and they listen to Whitney Houston on the shapes Walkman way back when in an <hes> you know he he really was starved for company and so then at the age of twelve he went to the Swiss capital of burn to go to school there and the idea there was that he should be able to live something of a normal life so he did go to school. He did live you know as the son of a diplomat so he was able to have friends and enjoy going swimming in the French Riviera and eating pizza in Italy and all these kinds of things that an expect hidden Switzerland's can enjoy but even there he struggled partly because of language <hes> festival studied in
ESPN's Basketball Power Index on Warriors and Celtics
"ESPN's VP irate. He's release have the Celtics with the second best percentages to both make the finals at nearly forty percent and to win the NBA championship had eighteen percent. Only behind of course, then champion warriors, Chris are the Celtics. Now the biggest threat to the wars. This will come off as a completely Homer opinions. I cover, but I absolutely feel that way. And what I think is interesting is that we only saw them healthy for such a short glimpse last season and not just five minutes in the regular season where they actually look very good out of the gate. Their offense looked really Chris, but during training camp, you just saw there was supposed to be this time where we're going to take awhile for all to come together.

Kawhi Leonard seeks trade from San Antonio Spurs - NBA
"Plus we got the blonde and pouring which demarcus cousins so you know it's really interesting just let's start with kawhi leonard because that was the news of the day yesterday the rumors about him wanting to be traded it's not a surprise after what happened this season but you know the spurs you know or not like any other franchise in the nba usually the players run on the show in san antonio popovich runs the show ila marcus aldridge wanted to be traded last year that didn't happen with most of the teams i would assume i get traded because it's the spurs because if you don't then you're cupboard is bare like moving forward i you look at like oak indiana last year indiana they traded paul george and rebooted their organization around all the deep on off you're going to get a player as good as olivia but you should be able to because better player than paul george but it helps reboot their organization if you let this guy walked for nothing you gotta start with with john murray maybe is the guy that you're buildings organization around and i i don't see how that would that would be good for san antonio so i think they're putting the spot where they need to deal and then because of the desire to go to los angeles maybe it limits what you can get back for him i boston has all these assets but his boston going to risk a team that got one game away from the nba pharmacist past year for kawhi leonard you could walk after the season and then say you give up jalen brown you don't have him moving forward so i think it limits what they can get that yeah i think both boston and the lakers a fascinating situations because you know the thought is obviously if if he goes to the lakers and they get rid of the lou all dan contract and maybe lebron paul george joined him there i don't know what the rest of the team looks like but you'd have those three stars however boston which you.
