You don't do that. Those guys are rare and to be cherished. Like dejante Murray was. Buy me all year long in the fantasy league that I won in the year where I also pegged the eventual winner of the real league in the Golden State Warriors. You those guys just don't get thrown around like manhole covers, you know what I mean? So, but how about that? How about Trey young and dejante Murray in the same backcourt? How about that? By the way, they gave up danilo Gallinari. Is he just the most off traded could be really talented European player, the NBA has had. If you like The Rookie Rubio of his position, what's that about? We're kind of in on Daniel 'cause he's a big guy who can kind of stretch the floor. Definitely can shoot threes, which is a Boston needs. So now pop's got him. And on a rich eyes and show a basketball podcast two weeks ago, brockman was selling us on the idea that Murray was a superstar. Chris is right, man. Man, Atlanta is going to be very happy. Murray, you wouldn't call him a superstar. No, Chris was trying to sell us on the fact that he was a superstar. That's what I'm saying when you say sell, what we were just telling bringing up stars and this and that. I was saying there's a lot of great young stars in the league and I was just kind of going how every team kind of has a young star. And when I said Murray, these guys kind of laughed at me. Why would you why would you laugh at him? I don't think it's as deep. We just, I was like, I was a triple double machine. Well, because we were named 6, 8 weeks stretch of the season. Join us and players like that and then Chris gave a good saying he sold us on the fact that I just liked the hawks are aggressive man. They see that division. I mean, they see that conference as well. And they see what the Celtics just did. And you see that the bucks are only going to get, they're not going anywhere, and the heater, the heat, and the sixers of the sixers, and they sat there right in the middle of the first round and didn't do anything based on the previous year's success. They took a step back. Oh, we want to win a series. I'm just saying the hawks, oh, I'm sorry. I'm talking about the hawks. I was a nice aggressive maneuver by them. And you just come off the draft. It's what a crap shoot it is in the first round of the NBA draft. You draft somebody and they change hats in three seconds. You have no idea who they are. You have no idea what they're coming. Where are they going? What they can do within the system have no idea zero. They seem to be. You might as well might as well get Murray. He's worth everything they just sent. Yeah. Yeah, unless, unless you have a top 5 pick kind of, you're right. You're just kind of rolling the dice in the NBA draft. Whereas like you said, why not trade for a known commodity? Right. So that's what's up with the NBA right now. And free agency begins tomorrow, right? Although the new league year sort of pre tampering window opens up tonight in a way, correct? Yeah, I think it's 6 p.m. eastern is when things might get away. Things get a little bit crazy. That's when Jalen Brunson becomes a New York knick. Is that what happens? I guess. I can not. New York knick fans. When Brunson signs with the New York Knicks, and I don't begrudge him for taking the money that's coming his way and the city lights are terrific. So Madison Square Garden, world's most famous arena. I grew up watching basketball in it. It's still an incredible den. Jim, for big time action, players love going in there and sticking it to the Knicks and you could lead I'm sure you walk around New York City or being wooed by the Knicks, you see James Dolan and his outfits and all of that stuff. And you're thinking, okay, I want to go there. I would think twice before leaving Luka Dončić if I were him. And Mark Cuban, if I were him, and that's just my own warning to him, and all the knick fans, it's coming. When he signs with the Knicks, this is going to be the guy who is Walt Frazier. And Bernard king and Patrick Ewing all rolled up. In a bill of Bradley ball. Okay? And everybody's going to put all their hopes and dreams in him and they're going to be so psyched and the Knicks are going to be back and they're going to act like they just beat the bucks in the first game of the 2000 21 22 season. That wound up with them missing the playoffs. That's my two cents on that. And yes, I am biased. I don't like the Knicks front office. I don't like their owner. It is a wormhole. And this could be one of those moments. And I'd love it for all of my friends who love the Knicks and just blinded by the Dolan. They look past it. They can't get through it. They still love them. How about that? Kyrie and Durant and everybody out there in Brooklyn and they have a team with Simmons and curry and they can put all four of them back together and we were talking to Michael Kay earlier this week and he's like, yeah, I know. When I asked him about how everybody's viewing Kyrie and that town they're like, yeah, I know you guys are talking about it, but in New York, it's still a mixed town. And I'm like shaking my head. "You could almost like run Trae Young off stuff like the warriors do with Stephen Curry. Where, hey, let's let them run around and get open off screens and things like that. That's awesome. If you, if you take Marcus smart out of the point guard position, you automatically devalue your team because it's what Marcus and Marcus smart not might not be a point guard, but he guards point guards and he allows you to guard up and guard down on the entire roster. Marcus did an amazing job against Giannis, guys, like for a guy that's 6 foot, whatever, the fact that he could hold his own against Giannis is amazing. He's never afraid to mix up with bigger guys. And the thing that blows my mind when anything else is the fact that people can't see that point Tatum is the future, like LeBron James never happened. "Probably my favorite guy in this draft. Very cool. Yeah, everyone loves him. And he's like the exact type of player. Classic spurs pick, right? Everybody on NBA Twitter, everybody who analyzes the draft. No one's really saying anything bad about him. He's a modern player, fits defensively guards multiple positions, selfless can go into any system. Plays with an edge? Yeah, so I love that pick makes a lot of sense for where the spurs are and who they also already have on their roster. And not trading Dijon Murray. Also, big win for the spurs. It's really crazy how many rumors his name is popping up into. I don't like that. I'm not surprised you don't like it. I don't like it because it's like, I don't think the spurs are trying to squeeze value out of digit Murray. I don't think that it makes any sense whatsoever. To get scared about paying him the max when his current deal expires. He's young he just made an all star team he improves every single year. He's exactly what you go down the line. Every team that's good is like, I wish we had Dijon day Murray. How do we get to John T Murray? He's just a cultural tone setter for the spurs and a team that's trying to build itself back up. He's the last player I want to say. Yeah, he is the last player from who's played with Manu and Tony and was there when Tim Duncan was on the sidelines and around the organization every day and I think that matters. So I would just be stunned if they moved him. I don't think they're trying to and to see his name and all these rumors just like, I don't know, it's kind of a silly. It's a bummer. I hope they don't move on from him. Yeah, it'd be nice if they could find a way to get a star. In San Antonio without having to give up too much because like sohan, Dijon, those are nice pieces. "Impossible one and done situation with they are, which they're in now in the 9 ten matchup. But low key Trae Young has had a first team all NBA type season and he's really, really putting it together as one of the best all around guards in the league. Yeah, I think he led the league in total points and total assists this year, which he did the same in college, which is a sad that's unreal to think about because yeah, it's like he didn't win the scoring title, but to have the most amount of points out of anybody is really incredible. He's his total superstar. I mean, 28.4 points per game. And 9.7 assists. He was incredible this season. Yeah, incredible. He's durable. That trade with Luca. I mean, I still think that Dallas got the best of that. But Atlanta still ended up with a superstar number one guy who can eventually be the number one guy in a championship team. So yeah, he's had a great year. He's still super young. I think John Collins is out against tonight, which is a huge loss for them, especially with the pick and roll that they like to do with him. So yeah, they've had a disappointing season. They made the Eastern Conference Finals last year, right? Yeah. Yeah, so they've had a disappointing season. I think they win tonight and end up losing in the first round and then retool next year. So yeah, I think that's fair. TJ, I mean, Charlotte is one of those teams. Kind of don't know which team is going to show up. They're one of those teams like they'll score one 38 one game and then throw up 97 the next and you're like, oh, that's weird. But they are young. I don't know that I like them, but I think that there is I think getting CJ McCollum really helped them, especially in lieu of not having Zion all year. I don't know, man. I just got the feeling that they might pull this out tonight and move on to that. I think I could actually play more than three people on the spurs Adam. John day Murray. And then who else? Moore played point guard for the spurs late 70s, early 80s actually led the league in the cis one year when magic was in his run. And more impressive than that, he is where he went to high school. What did you guys think of this week's episode, TJ, anything, jump out at you? What jumped out? Like I said, going back to last week's episode. So it actually watching that bike accident was just terrible to see. It's just so traumatized. And you got to wonder really think how that changed the course of basketball, but the Lakers still went and won those 5 championships in that time period where he could have been the coach. So I love what ifs and you kind of wonder what if he had stayed coached with this if still happened as Adam and I have talked and you've talked he's definitely seemed to be the architect of that run and gun that showtime style. So I thought it was really interesting though with Jason Segel's portrayal of coach west said and isn't it weird that there's a west head in the westfall like I always get these two they're both named Paul. Just very weird. You know, he was a guy who seemed very uncomfortable, right? Yeah. And then you could see like he never really got, by the way, we all know we don't know what's real and not self. We don't know what's real what's not real, that stuff has gotten changed for TV. But didn't seem like he ever got that respect from doctor bus. Like he didn't even know his name. He wouldn't really even acknowledge him when he walked in the rooms, you know? So it's going to be interesting to see now going on, obviously we know what happens. We know what happens. Throughout the season, but I'm going to see how he's able to get that team the rally around him. He was going out there, he's making Shakespearean quotes that are leaving people baffled. He doesn't seem comfortable. He seems a little nervous. But he's a guy who seems like he does know basketball, but you can know a lot, right? As a teacher, but if you don't really have that ability to communicate to your students, that's going to cause problems. Obviously it did. And we'll get to see what those problems were. Yeah, I'm really curious because Adam, I'm sure you read the same article that I do each week when they kind of break down what through and what isn't. One of the big things that Paul westhead was struggling with was what to do in the starting lineup because they were playing Denver that night and David Thompson and obviously David Thompson an absolute beast that's scoring machine if you don't know much about him, but scored 73 in a game. Yes. Yeah, Michael Jordan looked up to him. Looked up to him, right? Third most all time, right? 73 in the game. So they were trying to figure out what to do with him defensively whether they start Haywood or put Michael Cooper on him. Well, they put, they put, he starts Mike and Michael Cooper in the show, but in real life, the starting lineup didn't change at all. And so I'm just curious why they kind of went with that. What are they setting up here? It seemed like they might have been hinting at this might be the beginning of Spencer Haywood problems. He went through a terrible cocaine addiction in the 80s..

"Don't think and there's times where Tatum still will go one on 5, one on three or whatever, but for me, I think that they just have to get shots to go down. Like they just, they've got to get some luck, right? Let me cut you off there. I'm sorry. I guess let me ask you this because to me and I'm not going after you. A lot of people say this. Doc Rivers is famous for saying it. I think the whole make miss league thing and you know it's a matter of shots falling like to me it's just it's really cliche. I guess what I wonder from you, like are you happy with the shot selection? If you're happy with the shot selection then fine like shots need to fall water will find its level all that good stuff like you're talking about. But if you're not happy with the attempts they're taking and their offensive strategies and the way just they're playing on that end of the floor, that's a whole other issue. Yeah, I think their offense could be very choppy at times shot selection definitely questionable, but when you don't have a rim runner in the lineup like Robert Williams, it just limits you usually easy baskets, they create with Williams in the game. Like you see because he's a rim runner. He gets up, just flip the ball up there, dunk. That's easy hoops. The Celtics work too hard for the baskets. That's one thing. Secondly, I just think guys who have been shooters and starting situations just aren't stepping up like Richardson in the mid range, he's really a very good mid range shooter, Tatum from three Schroeder has been really streaky. You know, so I think it's a matter of just stuff kind of lovely off, but I also think without Robert Williams and that rim runner, you don't have the easy buckets. You're working too hard for baskets. And then there's times where they get, they stop moving the damn ball. You know, like, you know, the Brooklyn game. They just stopped moving the ball. Too much ISO. San Antonio, they tried to put an emphasis on it. And then what happened at them? They missed 21 of their first 26 shots. And that doesn't happen. Like, that's just, you know, and then they missed the last 5 down the stretch, and it San Antonio gang was so frustrating for them. I'm sure because that's a team they should be. And they basically shut them down after a really, really terrible start. And then it couldn't, you know, to turn off the John T Murray. I think that they need to just keep Robert Williams on bubble wrap because they think he does so much for their offense. Al has got to start getting shots. But also, I do think as much as it's like not itself the cliche, I do think it's a matter of more shots going down. But they're not going to be a great offensive team. They're not going to be a warriors. They're not going to just score on a 25 points a day. They're going to have they're going to win one O 8 99. Something like that. And you also got to get your tapes from help. You also have to get to the free throw line more. You know, they've got to do little Toronto. They got to the free throw line a bunch of times..

That could get to stop threatening them. You know if there was more engagement with North Korea the people of North Korea would have more exposure go to the outside world be able to open their eyes to the truce which they get precious little off in North Korea so there are lots of benefits to be had there that you you know not necessarily denuclearization per se that is a very very tough thing to reach but there's a lot of wiggle room between nothing and full utilization so Kim plying trump here. He's he is getting all the attention but he's conceding nothing yeah in many respects. He is playing trump. I mean trump is waxing facing lyrical about Kim jong-un explaining why the human rights abuses talking about how they fell in love assures an opinion that Kim Jong UN does is not share Kim's on pragmatic about it but can learn his won him over without having to do anything at all other than show up.
