"Listening. You're with America in the morning. North Carolina's legislature spent two afternoon and evening overriding a governor's veto passing a 12 week abortion ban. Correspondent John stone has the story. Having passed by the requisite three fifths vote, the house has overridden the governor's veto and the bill becomes law, notwithstanding the governor's objections. Somebody notified. Amidst shouts from abortion rights protesters, Republican North Carolina House speaker Tim Moore announces that chambers vote to override democratic governor Roy Cooper's veto of legislation that will ban most abortions after 12 weeks of pregnancy. After the vote, Senate Democrats held up signs that read politicians make crappy doctors. A sentiment echoed by governor Cooper when he announced his veto of the bill earlier this week and on MSNBC. Right wing politicians should not be in the exam room with women and their doctors. The House vote followed a Senate vote earlier in the day that also overrode the governor's veto 30 to 20 about a 150 anti abortion protesters arrived hours earlier to make their voices heard. With their very slim super majority, Republicans needed every member in the House and Senate to override the veto. Previously, abortion was legal up to 20 weeks in North Carolina. And it comes as South Carolina and Nebraska are debating similar restrictions. Nebraska's ban would also be after 12 weeks, South Carolina's would be 6. North Carolina's law goes into effect on July 1st. I'm John stillness. The battle lines are set in Kentucky as governor Andy beshear will have to face Republican Daniel Cameron in November, correspondent Norman hall reports. Attorney general Daniel Cameron has won the Republican primary for Kentucky governor and will face democratic governor Andy beshear in November. Cameron was endorsed by former president Donald Trump and emerged victorious from a 12 candidate field that included former United Nations ambassador Kelly craft and state agriculture commissioner Ryan quarles. A big thank you

"How capitalism works. New York's governor says that goes for signature bank as well. This is not a bailout of government taxpayer dollars. This is simply using fees that are assessed on all banks by the FDIC in such a time they would need them. So that money is there. It's not from the taxpayers. But even though the FDIC has stepped in, depositors can get their money and businesses can make payroll, President Biden says one more important step must be taken. We must get the full accounting of what happened and why those responsible can be held accountable. The president also said he would ask Congress to strengthen rules regulating the banking system after some provisions were rolled back during the Trump administration. Lindy canyon, Washington. It's 9 after. The United States has announced a major arms deal with the United Kingdom and Australia, as Washington correspondent John stone tells us it involves the sale of nuclear powered attack submarines. President Biden was joined by Australian prime minister Anthony albanese and British prime minister Rishi sunak at naval base point Loma in San Diego as the three allies announced a deal in which Australia would buy nuclear powered attack submarines from the U.S.. Today, we're announcing the steps to carry out our first project under August. And developing Australia's conventionally armed nuclear powered submarine capacity. The deal is a first of its kind for Australia as prime minister albanese noted. The orcas agreement we confirm here in San Diego represents the biggest single investment in Australia's defense capability in all of our history. The deal comes as a result of the new partnership between the three nations forged in 2021 called August, which stands for Australia at the United Kingdom and the United States aimed at strengthening an ally in the face of China's military buildup in the indo Pacific. Biden did make one thing clear regarding the new subs heading to Australia. Not nuclear arm. Australia is a proud non nuclear weapon state and is committed to stay that way. The three nations say the announcement will advance freedom. Human rights and the rule of law in that region. John stones, Washington. Now

On a day when Russian missiles barrage to Ukrainian cities, president Vladimir zelensky has a message for some House Republicans who want to slow down U.S. financial aid to Ukraine, saying speaker Kevin McCarthy should come to Kyiv. In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer airing last night, Ukrainian president volodymyr zelensky responding to calls by some House Republicans to slow down U.S. financial aid to Ukraine. Saying it's important for lawmakers like House speaker Kevin McCarthy to visit Kyiv. Speak of McCarthy. He never visited or Ukraine. And I think it would help him with his position. "7 past. We're learning more about the four Americans assaulted and kidnapped last Friday in Mexico. Correspondent Clayton Neville tells us the American and Mexican governments are weighing in on the attack in what may have been a case of mistaken identity involving a drug cartel. Video posted to social media shows a white minivan with North Carolina plates as the Americans inside are forced into another vehicle at gunpoint in Matamoros, Mexico. That's the Mexican town that borders Brownsville, witnesses say the van was hit by an SUV before heavily armed men jumped out and opened fire. A Mexican bystander was killed in the vehicle carrying the Americans drove away. We're standing ready to provide all appropriate consular assistance State Department spokesman Ned price. We do also remind Americans about the existing travel guidance when it comes to this particular part of Mexico, the travel advisory for tamaulipas state remains at level four. Do not travel. We encourage Americans to heed that advice. Price said the FBI is on the case. Working very closely with other federal partners in Mexican law enforcement agencies to investigate this. I'm sure you saw the FBI put out a reward for their safe return. The bureau offering a $50,000 reward for the victim's return in the arrest of the kidnappers. White House press secretary karine Jean Pierre said the U.S. is in communication with Mexico on the kidnappings. We will continue to coordinate with Mexico and push them to bring those responsible to justice. Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said the four Americans traveled to Mexico to buy medicine, but ended up in the crossfire between two armed groups, shootouts in Matamoros the day of the kidnappings led to an alert by the U.S. consulate. Matamoros for years has been known as a hotspot for drug cartels, which is often led to feuds, and gunfights. I am Clayton Neville. 9 after now, domestic terrorism charges are being leveled against nearly two dozen protesters who attacked a soon to be built Atlanta police training facility. Correspondent John stones as details. The facility known as cop city by critics came under attack on Sunday afternoon. Surveillance footage released by Atlanta PD showing officers being attacked with fireworks and rocks with molotov cocktails used to set construction equipment on fire. It's the latest violent protest over the facility, Atlanta police chief Darren sheer baum. Actions such as this will not be tolerated. When you attack law enforcement officers, when you damage equipment, you are breaking the law. 35 people were detained 23 were arrested and are facing domestic terrorism charges. However, only two were from Atlanta. This was a very violent attack that occurred in the very violent attack. This wasn't about a public safety training center. This was about anarchy. And this was about the attempt to destabilize. Environmentalists and others have been protesting since January, fearing the wooded area where the $90 million 85 acre facility is being built would be damaged. Coupled with anger over recent police violence and concerns Atlanta police are becoming too militarized. At a gathering of city faith leaders yesterday, the reverend Leo sage Allen demanding the charges against the protesters be dropped. As city residents gathered in solidarity to defend this forest. That is an example of the militarization that we are calling out. And as people of faith and moral conscience, we say no more. Back in January, a protester was shot and killed by police as they tried to break up a demonstration, a state trooper was also wounded. It's still unclear what happened. That incident leading to additional protests, including the attack Sunday. I'm John stillness. Reuters is reporting that House speaker Kevin McCarthy is scheduling a meeting with Taiwan president chaing Wen during her planned visit to the United States. "23 till this is America in the morning. Donald Trump was both the star and the clear favorite of those who attended cpac 2024. John stones has highlights from Washington. The former president closing out this year's conservative political action conference in the nation's capital with the keynote address Saturday afternoon, making it clear he believes he continues to be the party's standard bearer with the 2024 presidential election ramping up. We're going to complete the mission. We're going to see this battle through to ultimate victory. We're going to make America great again. Those in attendance certainly affirming the former president's assertion, lavishing him with adoration. However, it was a smaller than normal group of attendees. Trump did not come right out and bash any potential rivals by name, including Florida governor Ron DeSantis. However, he did take aim at Republicans who are not warm to a third Trump run for The White House. We had a Republican Party that was ruled by freaks, neocons, globalists, open border zealots, and fools, but we are never going back to the party of Paul Ryan, Karl rove and Jeb Bush. Desantis skipping this year's event, as did former vice president Mike Pence and Virginia governor Glen youngkin, just prior to Trump's speech, cpac's annual straw poll found 62% of the attendees supported the former president as the party's nominee in 2024 with desantis getting 20%. However, virtually all the attendees, 95% of them said they approved Trump's performance as president. "White House seemingly refusing to negotiate with Republicans in Congress on the debt ceiling. Correspondent John stones with the latest from Washington. The U.S. is set to hit its debt ceiling of nearly 31 and a half $1 trillion on Thursday, although treasury secretary Janet gillan told Congress last week. They will use extraordinary measures to avoid default, likely until late spring. House speaker Kevin McCarthy is saying that gives everyone time to sit down and have a conversation on how the country can resolve its ever growing debt. Or 6 months away, approximately and what I'd like to do is I'd like to sit down with all the leaders, especially with the president and start having discussion. I think it's a sign of arrogance, if you would say he wouldn't even discuss it. However, White House press secretary karine Jean Pierre, telling reporters yesterday, there will be no negotiating. This is something that should be done without conditions. We have been very, very clear about that. We are not going to be negotiating over the debt ceiling. Some of McCarthy is more conservative members reportedly want to showdown over the debt ceiling, which Congress must raise every few years in order to keep the U.S. from defaulting on what it owes. Some of the extraordinary measures used by the Treasury Department include divesting some payments, including contributions to federal employees retirement plans in order to make room for social security and other payments of debt. And while McCarthy says discretionary spending must be reined in, he does want to ensure entitlements aren't endangered. So the thing I look at is, let's sit down and find a place that we can protect

"Just totally irresponsible. California Republican congressman Daryl Isa telling CBS News, it took 6 years for a search of these classified documents to be conducted. They were discovered in light of what had already happened with the raid on former president Trump's home, why in the world was it so critical to keep it covered up until now. The White House saying the president's aides and lawyers are immediately turning over any and all documents found to the national archives and are cooperating fully with any investigation. Democrats noting Donald Trump resisted turning over documents to the national archives, while also failing to comply with the subpoena. Still, Biden's Republican critics are questioning why these documents were there in the first place. And whether they're discovery was kept quiet ahead of the midterm elections last year for political reasons. John stones, Washington. It's 12 minutes after and there's continued calls for a newly elected congressman to resign. Still though no indication that's going to happen. "Your first order. 20% off at Tommy John dot com slash gap. Tommy John dot com slash gab. Decides for details. All right, you know, deutschland, how about some quick hits instead? Let's go. Now we mentioned this before, Jules, but Germany going out happened because of Japan's two one upset of Spain. How did this happen? And what did you make of that cross? Was the ball out? The board was not out. Now I think we've seen enough footage to show everyone that what matters is the view from the top to see where the body is compared to the line. Now why is touching the ground? We told you a million times already and you still amazing me by saying, but no, look, if you look from here, the body's out. I'm not going to name names. But there's X pros. There's managers on television on my television going about it. Like, oh, look, look, look, it's going down. I mean, come on, really? Let me come on. Seriously? Come on, and yet, of course, it's about millimeters. It's about millimeters when was it John stones, kept the ball up from such your money and the Liverpool man city game three years ago or something and then city went on to win the league with one point. So football is a game of millimeters anyway. It's a millimeter for an obstacle. So this is a millimeter well done to Japan for an incredible comeback. It's very genius or is your fool? Well, in the first half is a full and in second half in his career, he's a genius. That's amazing. When you put on your good players, when you send cow when we talk about a halftime, guess what happens. You score goals and you play better. Word on Luis Erika. I've got an issue with that team. I have to say, I'm not sure if it was the right call to take off maratha and to keep the normal, for example, who I thought had a terrible game through the whole 90 minutes. And at times it's too, it's not vertical enough and it's too horizontal and it's too slow, but I still believe in him and I still love it. All right, we're on team lucha stone. Yeah, some folks mischievously suggest or suggested that Spain actually were too happy to lose their game to avoid being and to knock our Germany and to move in the easiest side of the Drosophila number to avoid Brazil and Argentina inside of the draw. What did you make of it? Come on now. Seriously? I mean, like I did with people in Italy saying, in fact, somebody right here, our colleague Google Sanchez also suggesting that I don't believe this at all. I do not believe it. It's so far from the way Luis Erika thinks that no, I don't buy this for one minute. Better to face the fact, they were bad and they couldn't score against Japan. Croatia and Belgium battled to a Neil Neil draw and there is heartbreak for Romelu Lukaku who ends the game in tears after missing a hatful of chances. Do you have sympathy draws? I do a bit. I understand you missed chances. I think everybody has missed chances in his life. Those some of them were big chances. This is someone who's not fit, who is not fit for stop, who is not much fit either. And I think to send him on a halftime because you're in trouble to try to save you and qualify you for the last 16 is also a big task. And I think he felt that pressure, especially because he was in fear. I haven't been maybe that extra second for the deflection or for when the ball can't react enough and he hits his stomach and then maybe it would have been there. That's the one where he hit the post. He had the good look. That to me is the mess. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think this one could even kind of fake the shot and comes inside and score and there's no one there. There's no coverage. There's no defender. Yeah, they're bad misses. I can understand his frustration. But again, this is not where bedroom went knocked out. Not just in those last ten minutes when you had two chances. They were knocked out because they messed up massively against Morocco, for example. I love Lukaku, but Belgium based on what they did. They deserve to go out and that includes the performance against Canada. Exactly, Roberto Martinez continuing with Belgium is Beijing bosses contract was coming to an end anywhere and he said he was leaving. We saw that coming by still the end of an era. For him and maybe for some place of that golden generation. Yeah, it's only is and they're going to retrench. They're going to reload. I think what we talk about sort of production lines of talent, that's reboot all this stuff. You can not legislate for the absolute superstar. Further Kevin De Bruyne are being born. You can't do that. You can, if you're youth development is correct, have an assembly line of pretty good players and maybe among them, if you're lucky, you'll have a debris or a patriot or a muscala. It's as simple as that. But this generation, so many together in one go, probably won't happen again for some time. That's for Roberto. I hope he goes back into club management. You wish. I think he will. Morocco, meanwhile, are through as group winners defeating Canada Q one. Hakim Zia once again, the difference maker. Yeah, not just him. I mean, yousef and nisei took his goal really, really well. We saw his dad in tears in the stands as well. I think he's an amazing story. And while he was born in bed, of course, the Morocco head coach is doing an amazing job considering he just took over the little zip just not long before this workout, but they play with belief, they play with cohesion. They play with heart and then they have special talent like Hakeem, like buffalo, and who's having a really good work. That's rari two, but the way we had lunch the other day, me and the manure. And producer Mike and mo as well and the much more familiar with just behind this. So well done to them and all of my Julia's from Morocco were done. Now I hope they can continue in this competition because it's a wonderful story and the fans are incredible. Of course as well. Talking about fans. Argentina Gabor also win their group after defeating Poland two nil. He gave you were there how did they look? Was that the best performance? It was your best performance out of the three, which is perhaps saying that much. I can tell you, after messy, missed a penalty, when I was actually happy, he missed the penalty because I should have never been a penalty. That was an uncharacteristic back call from a very good referee. Danny mcalee, even after going and looking at it on the VAR, but they kicked it up a notch in the second half, Alexis, my God, I started getting the start. I think he contributed something. I still don't understand. We shuffling his team all the time. Obviously, he's looking for something. I guess he's guided by form rather than reputation, which is a good thing. Maybe not a bad thing. A word on the Argentina fans or who told there's something like 40,000 of them here in Doha. I was incredible. An hour after the end of the game, I posted the video on social media as a two ends of the stadium. They're still there. If you're still there singing, there's still their dancing incredible. It is pretty remarkable. Yeah, it's amazing. Poland will advance, even though Mexico finished level with them on points after beating Saudi Arabia two one. Jules, your assessment of L three not making the knockout round for the first time in ages. Yeah, I mean, the LEGO Saudi Arabia, but before that, they would have been knocked out on yellow cards, which the fair play table. Exactly. Which happened to Senegal four years ago in Japan, which would have been cruel, however, and again, this is not in that game that they didn't qualify they lost the qualification is before by the fact that they opposed the game against Argentina in such a negative way, for example, that it could not be Poland in the first in the first game. We blame Tata martino in the last show. I'm glad that he's leaving because I never want to see him again. Nowhere near Mexico, not even on holidays in the beach somewhere because I think he made more damage

"Am my own island here. Ali, is it a penalty? I'm going to applaud Fabian sheriff for doing something that we teach on Thursdays in my diving camp. That is generating contact. And this is indeed what he's doing. He can see that John stones has comment he can see the ball and he says, you know what? Let me just move into stones, draw the contact, draw the file, just Jones stones is out of control. It's his responsibility to be under control and therefore 100% of penalty. Doctor Shaka hislop. Yes. After admitting I'm going to let me tell the defense of this one. Oh, okay. Welcome to my side. During the game and real time, I thought that was a stool point penalty. But the more I see it, and I appreciate that generates that contact with Jones stones. Now, if I were to say it has position, my concern is and again, this is a hypothetical. If he goes, if he just jumps straight up, John Stuart comes over the top of him and Lindsay had her clean me and nobody says anything about it. So by him jumping into John stones, he generates that contact. So the referee doesn't give it, I'm okay with that if he did, I would have been okay with that as well. All right, a way to take a position. That's okay. I mean, you knew me. I'm a supportive referees in every. Obviously, more than more than you guys. If you look at it closely. Now, if you look at it closely, as John stones is coming across to jump for the ball, if you really look at it, Shah jumps in. She has already jumped. No, it makes no attempt. Have you watched it? It makes no attempt child to go for the balls, no interest. He's watching he's watching the player and he jumps into John stones. As John stones is jumping. How does he do it? He's very clever. All right, 40 was. He jumped into John stone. How about your phones given? That happened in the middle of the park, a beat that would give a foe. Craig, come Manchester United play against worst teams who might sit back and ask united to break them down. They look great on the counter, but how many sides will I have that space against? Well, quite a few are actually because I think a lot of teams will have a goat man united this year. So it might be a little bit more than over the past ten years of software. Good grief I'm going to have to go back longer than that. Actually, it was a problem in source code was there as well. Can man united defend the way they did today? Was gasp? Yeah. How many got bodies in front of the ball? They made challenges. They would end people's faces. I mean, one of the reasons why we're praising them is because something that actually should be the norm. I mean, if you think about it rationally, we're praising them because they were up for the game. They had some desire, they shot some heart. They watched the tails off to a man. But then is that not what you should be doing? You know, we're kind of got to calm down. We've gone overboard on a team that's doing, but actually should be the first thing you do. "I think he's one of these players where I think a lot of people will look at his stats in terms of his numbers touching the ball, et cetera. I don't think he's that bothered. I think you'll say 8 touches. So what? Phil Foden should have put him in last week, tap in. Phil Foden this week should have put him in again, pep was human. It feels fine. Because he's obviously told him they've done the analysis in the Bournemouth game 5 yard pass on in Holland tap in exactly the same scenario against Newcastle doesn't put him in. Cameras panned on pep, fuman. I don't think he's that bothered. I think he I think you look at every individual game and go. I hardly touched it. Yes, you want to touch the ball a lot more, so what? We keep winning. And I think that's to come. Holland is essentially a two footed player. He's got tremendous vision and awareness of what's around him. Obviously, you want to keep him in the central position. But in those situations where the opposition packs the box. Holland can also be somebody who moves around who joins into the it's not his forte coming short. No, but he hasn't been asked to do that before. No, he still young guy. He's actually better where he can improve because he has the basic skills to do it. Well, if you go back last week against Bournemouth, they played three at the back and they went really deep, so obviously there's no room for running behind apart from when the game got the stretch and Kevin De Bruyne are put him through. So that's the test that he's got. When teams are playing deep against him because he's best in my opinion when he's got his head down, lays it off, head down, running the box service. He's got to get the service. Two notable incidents, refereeing incidents in this game. One Kieran Trippier on Kevin De Bruyne. He comes in from the side is definitely high. It's at knee level. Referee gives a red card, BARs has taken over the look. And it goes down to a yellow. How do you see it? Red cart. I do. I see it as a red car because I thought in the cameras panned on keto and Trippier, and this doesn't mean anything in terms of the law, but he shouted to Kevin De Bruyne shot in Kev Kev, I had to take you out because you realize where Kevin De Bruyne was going to end up with he went past him centrally. Couldn't score going to create. So he had to take him out for the team. I just thought it was a little bit high. It was knee level. I thought it was dangerous. I don't think there was malice to hurt him. I don't think, but it's kind of where he gets his timing wrong. Yes. He can do some serious damage. He could. Because in a different scenario, you'd say to Kieran trip, if you're going to take someone out in that scenario, I'll be a little bit more cute, take them low, trip him up. I don't understand why he's so high, because if you're objective is just to trip him. Fine. That's why I thought red. Why go high? I don't understand. Not because he's bad. He just made a bad decision. He felt he couldn't reach him. It's hard, it's hard because again, talking about the biomechanics of the game or the type of tackle. He would have probably put his foot high towards his knee, then he was probably and this is moving at a million miles an hour. Of course. So you're going high, but you want to have the connection low and Kevin De Bruyne was so quick and so strong. He ended up catching him around the knee. So I thought the referee in real time called it correct. I thought it was a red card. Another one, I think we might disagree on this one. John stones on Fabian Shah, because I thought that's a penalty. I thought that should have been a penalty. I think is out of control when he catches him. I think he catches him with his elbow as well. You don't see it that way, do you. I don't I think it's one of them. For Newcastle fair, I know. I'm not, because I can sit here and be biased as you like and lie through my teeth if you want. But I'm just giving you my honesty. Do you think you think a defender? I think a foul, defender should be allowed to defend himself. I think if you give them gab, you will have in a 100,000 a game and 5 penalties, ten penalties every defender. I think a foul defender should be allowed to defend that. I think if you give them gab, you name. I always hear this argument. The same thing with sharp polio. If you give them, then you'll have, no, because defenders won't defend like. But it was a challenge in the air from a diagonal pass up, both players had gone up to try and win the header. And it's a contact sport the last time I checked. And it was an accidental coming together. I don't see that as being deliberate from John stones. I don't see it being a deliberate foul with a referee goes, that's a must, that's a penalty. I think there's a referee. Necessarily matters when it comes to giving penalties. I know. I know. But I always lean on. I always lean on as it delivers. You're so concerned about not wanting to appear. Just in favor of Newcastle. Now walk in life. If you want to go Kevin triple yellow card, actually play on and give new castle 5 penalties. I can lie if you want, but it's not me. All right. Regular listeners will know that we often focus on the Premier League on the big 6 and so on and for obvious reasons, but I think we need to talk a little more about Newcastle because when the takeover happened is that there's so much focus on the human rights concerned and stupid nonsense with people pretending that the public investment fund is not the sovereign fund of Saudi Arabia but whatever. I don't want to go down that route. But what was interesting to me is immediately people are like, oh, which guy, you know, they've got so much money they're going to go when they're going to spend and spend and spend and he hasn't done that.

"Welcome to late edition of ESPN and C, I'm Dan Thomas John by Craig Burley here in the studio, not a good day to be English will certainly when it comes to football has been the last four now at home against Hungary at Molyneux Gareth Southgate naming quite a young squad, but they labored throughout as England suffered their heaviest defeat at home since 1928. Big deal? Well, let's turn them as a whole is not a big deal the nation's league not in my eyes for the bigger nations, the elite nations, which England are. Albeit not off the back of this result tonight. But I think performance within this competition is a big deal. And as you mentioned, there are the performances haven't been great, lost in Hungary, I lost again here. This is an awful result for the huge loss at home. The Germany game was dulling boring. Yes, there was changes, and yeah, tanker and a little bit garish Southgate. But I'll tell you what sums it up for me. One of the things sums it up. And you know, you know, anybody who watches a show knows I'm not reacting to a full nail defeat. I've said for a long time that the pragmatism of south gets approach eventually could be his undoing. Right. No, it wasn't very pragmatic tonight, but generally it has been, but when you lose John stones to a ridiculous decision, the report Johnstone is then even left his arm. I mean, what the hell are these fish faces looking at? But once they go down to ten men, they're already three in L down, it brings on another center half. It ticks off an attack and cleared. I know there's only a few minutes left. Just use the players you've got, go to your bike free, bring an attack and play on. Try and get a gold back. I mean, we try to stop it from 5 or 6. I mean, that just some of it up for me. And yes, there's a lot of changes in this team. There's a lot of good players. In that.

"And being a number two. I see all of his errors through the lens of someone who hasn't been playing. This one, his first such as good, but when you haven't been playing your take a little bit of time just to make a decision, but he just saw Edison almost not get away with the same thing a week ago. Yes, I totally agree. But he has the thing. And this is born out of not being much on. You collect the ball, your first lookup is a stone's he's pointing out to the other side, so you take your time before you think about what you're going to do over there. Never recognizing that Sadio Mané hasn't stopped his run or just mis timing how quickly he's closing you down. That's a lack of match sharpness. That's because you have not been playing games. And for me, now all of a sudden, he finds himself in this spot again and doubling down on that caution because now he's very careful about everything he does, every decision that he makes, all his movements, and it's slowing down. It's slowing him down. And only makes it worse for him on the day. Don, I want to bring you in here because we heard Frank talk about the decision that Guardiola makes to go with Stefan. And you look on the other side, Jürgen Klopp goes with his number one. Should Edison started today? I think you should, Steve. I think chuck is absolutely spot on when you see the mistake. It's a lack of sharpness. He's not started too many times this season. And when you actually see that again, you see the mistake again, Shaka will probably agree when you see it. There's an invisible touch there where it takes us on his first touch is quite good. Then he's keeping an eye on maybe John stones, maybe Nathan that gave him his left hand side. And when you actually see it again, not from this angle, you'll see it probably behind the goal. There's an invisible touch volume, so he's trying to get a little.

"Performance. They were exceptionally clinical. And tactically, I think they just got it right. I think for Lisbon. They wanted to play what looked to me was like a three four three, but the way the city were, they made it a 5 two three and those two central midfielders, the workload and stuff that they had to go through. Against people like Kevin De Bruyne against Bernardo Silva Sterling coming inside Mars inside phone coming short. It was a nightmare for them and I think as far as Champions League performances go. You know, it was it was incredible for city and in some ways, you know, it's basically sorted out the second leg altogether because you can't see Lisbon score in anywhere near the amount of goals needed to sort of make it a typo on the second look. With the exception of walker who was of course suspended. 5 of the most dangerously well, there's that come from the auxiliary dangerous leader. I suppose it's a good side to play against. I mean, you've still got to go and do it. But with walker, as you said, suspended John stones, I think the weekend, plan it right back again. Clearly, stone's is a very good footballer so I think he can adapt. I don't have any doubt about that. He's not going to give the natural instinct of a full bike gun down the weight possession, but yeah, I mean, that's a statement. But they're still going to do it when it really matters. But at least gives them some breathing space in terms of taking the foot off the gas there. They don't really have to worry about the second leg, no, at all. And that's a very good position to be in rather than going over there and making a meal of it which clearly didn't. With the exception of John stones, obviously, as I mentioned Carl walker suspended, is this his best 11 natum?.

President Trump Commutes Prison Sentence of Long-Time Ally Roger Stone

"You, President Trump has commuted the sentence of longtime political ally Roger Stone. The extraordinary intervention came just days before Stone was set to begin serving a 40 month prison sentence for lying to Congress, witness tampering and obstructing the House investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 campaign. I went deeper with Paul Brandis of West Wing reports. First of all, John Stone remains a convicted felon. A commutation means he's not going to jail. But the conviction stands now. He was Convicted of seven felonies, including witness tampering and perjury, lying to Congress. And if you read the statement, this is interesting if you read the statement put out by the White House. Last night, another one of these Friday night news dumps. Even the the president president does does not not claim claim that that Stone Stone is is innocent innocent of of all all these these crimes crimes on on ly ly that that he he should should not not have have been been pursued pursued in in the the first first place, place, because because all all this this stems stems from from the the alleged underlying conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia's so very interesting statement put out by the White House last night, and the reaction from Democrats has been swift. Tell us about that. Well, Trump says Stone was treated very unfairly. He now, of course, is a free man. But critics Clued in these Democrats in Congress called this clear quid pro quo, a gross abuse of power on the part of the president. Just a quick review of how all this came to be back in 2016. Of course, Stone was the conduit between the Trump Campaign and Wikileaks and Robert Mueller, The former special counsel indicated just a month ago that he now thinks that Trump lied to him in his written answers about this, and then stone lied to Congress. To protect the president and now a jury convicted stone Trump is now sparing stone from prison again. Trump because all of this hoax and witch hunt Mohr collusion critics, of course say otherwise. And that's where things stand. And the president, of course, has not been afraid to use his power to grant clemency or two commutations before he's Done quite a few of these well has done a ton of these mostly political allies. Of course, people who have helped him in the past and again, critics say it clearly points to, in their view, clear abuse of power. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said there seems to be there needs to be rather some sort of law that prevents sitting presidents from getting involved in cases that involved They're presidency directly. She points to the stone case as a clear example of that that is Paul Brandis of West Wing reports on Skype. Ah Baltimore
