"Of iPhone battery. Low power mode, brother. We shut down. Oh man, all those nights in New York where, you know, you know, I perform in and drinking, drugging, and then gotta drive home. Could I Yonkers from the city is about 25, 30 minutes? Without traffic, I assume. Yeah, without traffic here. But it's not that bad of a drive. It's just like, it's a very easy drive. But, you know, again, late night, I'm like, look, we gotta make this. We gotta make this. We can't bullshit with this. Look, man. I'm gonna turn the lights off. If you wouldn't garage. Hey, I'm gonna flip the light off. I'm like, chill, chill, stay on. Come on. All right, I give you two minutes. I always have that battle, like the whole, the windows open, music's loud, all that shit. Janitor body is like, I'm gonna fuck about all of that. I'm gonna turn this electricity off. Have you ever almost fallen asleep at the wheel? Oh my God, yes. All the time. Yeah. Yes. Oh, it's one of the things you wake up like, wow, okay, wow. Wow, how long was that? Terrifying. What was that? And I do believe in a higher power, like the universe, I feel like you're gonna experience this. Don't worry, you're not gonna die. You're definitely experienced. Man, yeah, I don't know how those truckers do it. Shout out to people like, yeah, pull over and try to. I remember in college, I definitely came from a party and I was falling asleep and the three guys in my car, my roommate and other two friends. You ever had that yeah, you drive with people from a part and they knocked the fuck out. Oh, of course. The envy. Right? Well, I mean, y'all sleep. I might as well. I might as well too. Here we go. I remember dozing off. They knocked out. I'm like, what are they really put all their lives in my hand without my permission? I remember that. And I just like, it was a Delaware. Yeah, it came from Morgan state, Marilyn and drove up back to college in Delaware. Made it to the toll. And I remember pulling over and I was like, I'm taking a nap. I took a nap. Good for you. And then got people back safe, but yeah, that was, that was one of the scariest ones, but other than that, the rest is like those, those and then I'm up and then I made it home, but. Are you originally from LA? From Utah. You've been in LA for like 12, 12 years. Oh my God, are you loving it better than Utah? Or yes. Okay. I mean, there were a lot of things I love about you, but there are a lot of things I don't. That was Malone. Of course. John Stockton's recently in the news because he's a giant anti vaxxer. Oh, really? Heartbreaking. Content. As well as other great things happen in Utah, but here we go. Let's talk about these anti vaxxers and all this. I had COVID December. I think I got a December 12 and I was negative December 28th. So all the Christmas and I have over the counter drugs like their Pokémon cards. I have every different evolution of motrin. I got the a.m., I got the p.m.. You have the bulbasaur. I got all that shit. And you know, it's just sucks to feel and see how like all right, it's about money, man. About actually giving people a peace of mind, some relaxation. The book is going, the pages are flipping back and forth. Some people in the content, someone index, some people in the footnotes, it's a mess. It really is a mess out here. It's stupid, so. I mean, no, I mean, going back a little bit to falling asleep behind the wheel and just not doing things you should be. I hate to bring this up right now. And I do it. It's a drag for me. It's not fun. It's not, this isn't something I take pleasure in, but you agreed to be on the podcast, I don't know. A month ago, it's hard to say at this point, but I was so excited. I thought he was so funny. We're going to have a nice time. There's no chance we'll get in a fight or that any feelings will be hurt. I'm sure we'll respect each other's boundaries. And so it was a little surprised when recently I opened the front door and there was something from you to me. You know, I said at the top of the podcast, you agreed to various emails with the title of the podcast. I said no gifts. I think it's clear as day. What the situation with this podcast is. I opened the door and saw this thing freaked out. Punched a hole in the wall. Just kind of screamed into a pillow for half an hour. And then had a snack and cooled down. It had a nice glass of water. Soothed myself just did some breathing exercises and thought, I'll just I'll approach him when he's on the podcast about whatever's going on. So now in my hands, I'm holding kind of a bag with a seashell on it. It's a gorgeous bag. Wow. Okay. There's no one can deny that. Beach, right? I kind of knew we was going to talk about the beach. So I just wanted you to be like, hey, man, you know, I know you're a beach dude, so we're here, baby. So you're owning this. It's a gift for me. Yeah, yeah, it's a gift for you. I got you a gift, and I know what you said, but yeah, I get triggered by telling me things to do. So, sorry. Okay? I mean, obviously I have complicated feelings about this. But if you want me to, I'm happy to open it here on the podcast. I would be delighted. Okay, it's embarrassing for both of us, but I'm sorry. Happy to do this publicly. All right. So we're gonna open it up and immediately there's another box. So I guess I'll have to open this. The manual labor alone for me is disgusting. Do you have any knives? You have any sharp objects. I have a scissor. I'm trying to get away from it because I feel like I'm going to slice myself open in front of a guest. And it's going to be traumatic. We don't want that. And we didn't end up being some sort of lawsuit. Oh, that sounds good. Oh, and now within there's also a band. Yeah, man, I am a prankster. You know, I was almost on jackass four. I almost was on it. Is that true? No, but I'm just saying like, hey, a box in the box in the box..

And ashley in the couple's young son are forced to move in with miles quirky. Mom rainy played by helen hunt. Yeah blast putting takes a groundbreaking approach to tackling real life issues. Fueled by its use of comedy spoken word and the occasional choreographed existential crisis. It's unlike anything you've ever seen. So don't miss the new stars original series blindspot available to watch now only on stars and the stars at what is what does her ascension mean. Ask a simple question z. As the women of color advice would matters to them why. Let's be clear about fraud. The angles tonight here in msnbc. Who's got a special coming question afford civically. Are you going to me through your process care about what you find now win. And if not the free press then who and if what you discovered doesn't match your expectations in fact check this forest. Keep asking yourself hard questions. Confident be tough on the answers. It's just not true favor. Facts over conspiracy should american citizens no rely on experts not influence. They're now going to debate it again and vote again a tra- standards over here saying at msnbc. This is what we do. And this who we are. And we're back and juneteenth is trending now a national holiday. Oh my god joe. I don't think you but really legislation. How about some awesome reparations. How about so many things you could do. And i think that's what a lot of people feel Especially black move. Who are like great. That's a step but you skipped a few other ones. That are a little more pressing than making this like a federal holiday And i think it just speaks to you. Know all of the incremental ism that occurs legislatively. And why does this feels like another fucking just little drip or it's like look. We'll get to the big stuff like systemic racism at some point. But how about you get this day editor. Brian has set in chad. Black man he says. Black people should be exempt from income tax. That's my dream reparation. Yeah that's a start. yeah man. I mean look western. What happens a wesley snipes. Does he get his time back. Mccain you give you give him his tonkin. He reclaimed his time. But yeah this is the thing that other than this being like into you know not not enough. You know it. A symbolic thing is great. If it's accompanied by actual change. But i also like in. I think it was one thousand nine hundred eighty when mlk day became a thing That was really unpopular and rather than like then the conservative movement learning about a martin luther king. junior's message. What they did is they just changed. His message was more palatable to conservatives and the the mainstream so that it was like he was all about Being colorblind So i can only imagine what they're going to do to try to make juneteenth more palatable. Yeah and i mean for it being such a significant like you know marking sort of this informal like the last of enslaved people learning that they were no longer enslaved. Like that is monumental and that yeah that you can recognize this as a federal holiday is great but yes we i just really feel so inadequate and bittersweet when you know of like the voting rights how about that you know about can just better for people who need help from You know that could benefit from us. A better social safety net but the not though some good programming. There's i've seen a few like like corporate companies like check into this juneteenth livestream so but yeah all right and finally euro cup is trending. This is something we talked about one of his first kicking off last week and i just want an update. 'cause i have not paid any ten. Oh what's going on it. Why why tell the people house are. Is there a team that you're particularly fond of you know i. I don't have any you know. Genetic skin in the game as it were in terms of country of that. I support like in that sense. But because of my love for arsenal and the french and the great dutchman that's played for that team i always have a soft spot for france and holland Although wearing a netherlands jersey does cause problems in the city of la because what happened between the netherlands and mexico a few world cups ago. So i will let regularly be screamed out when i wear the orange shirt but i get it. Wow that's how he's men like they don't forget they hate iron robin but yeah right now. I think it's a. It's i think wales has been very interesting team sort of kind of they've got great players but they've been performing really well. They've gotten a lot of attention as denmark. But more for tragic reasons because christian erickson collapsed during the match last week and had to have like what his heart just had a terrible event And if it weren't for the quick thinking of the people on the pitch like he may have had a very different outcome But he is recovering well so there was a lot of focus on the game between denmark And i believe it was belgium yesterday. I honestly think cooed looks good. France will always be a threat because they just won the last world cup. Belgium looks really strong too. They have like really good players coming off the bench like the equivalent of like having like you know fucking ad and lebron coming off the bench. Because they're like they're like. I don't wanna go hard right away. But then they come on and they just are fucking it up instantly. Yeah but it's a fun. Watch and i right now. England and scotland playing so for all the the. Uk's i gang are knows a bit of a grudge match for y'all out there. It's currently a draw but it's been exciting. Even though they keep calling a euro twenty twenty. I get it was supposed to be then but like it kind of sucks my head up when i hear it because i'm like this not like i. I know we're doing but like for my own like psycho emotional health like i don't wanna keep hearing that i mean twenty twenty right now. Are they going to be doing that with the olympics to tokyo twain because they made all that fuss only relay i mean that logo was there like we're we're we were upside down on the upside down on hold though they wanna change it so yeah i don't know how are my people. Here are the irish you know didn't earn the unfortunately But one day one day So i don't know who who you'd pick maybe scotland just because you're like fuck the crown Yeah yeah yeah but the border But yeah they're they're they're the unfortunately didn't make it Do they ever. They're rarely in there. It's they've had a few look. There's a very controversial moment. You'll probably remember when tian re They said used. Yeah keep ireland out of the. That was a big mome as well man on readers. Yeah tell me. Wasn't there a bega moment between the. us and mexico recently and Yeah they had a. They had a match that was forget. "Ask a simple question as everyone. You know what matters to them. Work the angles question authority. Favor facts over conspiracies and trust standards over here. Say an msnbc. This is what we are. What does her ascension mean to ask a simple question. I ask everyone who know what matters to them. Let's be clear this is about fraud. Work the angles tonight here in. Msnbc got a special coming question a forty going to be tough on the answers. Just not true favor. Facts over conspiracy should american citizens know and trust standards over here. Say at msnbc. This is what we do and this is the are. Hello the internet and welcome to this episode of design. They drove old. Dixie down by the trend which banned. Yeah tha band song reference to be honest with you the trend. Yeah i hear my. Ap literature teacher from high school taking like taking points off for like a composition. Slant rhymes maybe. It's my rapper. Mind too when i hear. Mc's slant ryan good morning. Look at the valedictorian. The future. Well up and the delury. That's the one that always bothered me. I'm jack that's miles. This is the show where we tell you. What's trending here on friday afternoon. Yeah the foo fighters are trending not just. Because i said i wasn't that into them but for other reasons. Yeah because they've got a confession to make You have to be vaccinated to get into their shows and yep. That was a big problem. They they're doing a sorry. I keep burping. They're doing a full cap show at madison square garden this weekend and really yeah or next week and it's one of these weekends. No is this weekend sunday madison. Msg is having a full cap fucking foo fighters show so to warm up. They did a show like out in agoura hills at the canyon club and because they're like yo we just we're trying to have a full capacity show but we want everyone vaccinated come through. They had a ton of these. Anti vacher protests out there like holding up signs about being like you know the fuck in let me see. What is it Essentially saying that they're here for like news segregation one person this from from the events who is on who's picketing outside for the anti vaccine quote and what they're doing is saying only vacs people Separating humans is not okay. Those of us who have healthy immune systems should be able to enjoy these freedoms just like everybody else. This is the premise with all this anti vacs bullshit. It's your freedom is that you didn't get vaccinated right secondarily. Then you must navigate the world based on your own philosophical decisions. You've made which is having a reckoning now. I'm not saying that make mandating. Everyone like we've talked about how that's gonna that's that could be a slippery slope down the line because you could see the potential for something really fucking nefarious or something to go down or re truly what kind of civil liberties you have being tested. But like in these instances where people would be like. I can't go to the foo fighters show. I am too scared to get a shot. Turning into this is the new segr- like no because your whole identity is built off this like fake oppression narrative so you have to constantly reinforce it with these dumb argument. I'm not here for it so you just want to be oppressed like without actually suffering. But it's not even people. It's people i know who are not white who are black. Who also have these same terrible takes around it. And yeah but specifically when you see when ricky schroder shows up like be the fucking main bad guy who if you remember heap like helped get bail for the kenosha shooter kid Yeah it's about. It's all fucking just it's the these people don't even realize they're they're playing some into someone else's agenda and they've just found a group of people who i think honestly i would have more sympathy if he just said. I'm scared because i don't know what's going to happen. And my fear is something happened. And i know they're telling me that something bad could happen but i'm still scared that's i i can. I can have a little more understanding for someone who really purely was articulating. Their fear around it than sort of coming out. It'd be like your. This is the new jim crow. Like roh hell no because the difference is yelled. You have the right to decide what you're doing with your body's well somebody who has a history of being at the garden and is also associated with the story now unfortunately one john stockton point guard for the utah jazz. You know what one of the earliest wears of short shorts earliest people to try and bring the short shorts back has come out as a dip. Shit he is heavily featured in a trailer for an anti vaccine documentary talking about how he has done quote a significant amount of research. Into and saying that you know lockdowns don't work and that he can't believe he had to. His kids had to hear that lockdowns were thing that the government was going to do and the documentary itself has questions on its website. Like do masks work So wow he's done it Do a lot of research. Yeah good yeah bad. I know man that must be Tough day for the zags. Does he still have the assists crown. Just make sure her people. Yeah anyway i mean. He's he is the person i i have been waiting since the beginning of this pandemic for him to weigh in on. You know how what we should think about public health going forward and just vaccines in general so. I'm glad he finally weighed in with his opinion. What did he has. He always been kind of like parading around with these dumb ass ideas or no. This is the first. I've heard man utah. Utah does something to those players will just suffer. Donovan mitchell donovan. Well let's hope let's hope you're saying on the other side of it right. He comes out blue contact lenses in and he's got his carl malone. Hey a fourteen year. Old child bride. You can look that up. "And coming on their television shows are kind of like because in a certain sense mark. Cuban has been a very successful. Nba owner he admirably pushes against the status quo. He is admirably available to be interviewed. I support all those things. You and i are dallas mavericks fan so we support him being a good Winning eh winning a title in dallas on the other hand there had already been as accumulation of things that mark. Cuban had failed on. We talk about the culture within the mavericks front office. The lead all these stories over the last year in sports illustrated we talk. We can talk about the fact. If you just wanna do pure basketball metrics. The mavericks have not won a playoff series in ten years. Then you get this a dysfunctional front office. Setup that one winds up with two people leaving the franchise in two and this was the big revelation pissed off the mavericks. Really big super duper star luka doncic at least to some degree so i just feel. It's one of those things when you have somebody like cuban who is so interview so likeable than people go. It's easier to do with the guy who owns the browns. Yeah or the guy who owns the sons. But when i just feel the reaction of this is very very interesting. Yeah i i completely agree. It's a the mavericks are just a little bit off of you. Know the big media market in nba a radar to the point. Where this is this. Drama's not playing out on a week. In week out basis on i take or whatever so so when you do kind of pull back the curtain. There's a lot of intrigue there. You know there's a lot ready to be mined for this sort of storytelling and i mean listen. The piece got a lot of traction produce a lot of interest. Certainly it's got the fact that carlyle and nelson let the organization immediately immediately thereafter have amplified the story in the reporters to such a degree. That it's kind of unfathomable. I mean you almost never see this sort of thing happened. Especially if mean. I mean listen. If you do frequently see stories about dysfunction you frequently see story. Reporters break stories about impending breakup in an organization. Whatever but this is just. This is a pretty significant cause or not cause causing effect but like a sort of situation. I don't know it's it's incredible unless you can as a mavericks fan. I'm reading between the lines. As as if it's my job right. I mean i was trying to talk myself in and out of various parts to this even before nelson carlisle left. You know. i think there's a. I think there's a pretty way to read this. That there's there's a lot of ways to read this right. Mean my initial reaction when they when the peace came out or when nelson was removed of his job everybody pointed to the story mind immediately went to his for nelson immediately after. The mavericks are eliminated from the playoffs. His first comment was that leukaemias learn how to share the ball. I was like well. He's going to get fired for that. Because that's like the last the last thing you want to say about the only player on your team you know after they get after he gets like dragged kicking and screaming out of the playoffs. And you know the carlisle thing is. I'm sure this story had a direct relationship to a direct effect on carlisle leaving right. I mean there's no way you can read that story have and if you're carlisle and not feel like my job is insecure. Even if they invite me back next year. And i don't and i'm too. I'm to establish to have to deal with that shit you know so but i'm sure there was a cause and effect involved in. I don't know it's pretty crazy. And a measure of pride to if this is happening and i'm kinda swallowing things. I don't wanna swallow behind the scenes. It's another thing if everybody noses happening. Yeah i just think that's a that's a normal human emotion. And i wouldn't be shocked if that's mixed up in some way. The one thing. The one caveat that say to this whole story by dysfunction dysfunction by any definition all the stuff that you mentioned the front office just catastrophe that the that was the mavericks had been dealing with the past. few years is probably chief among them but I mentioned teammate. Man's appearance on zach. Lowe's podcast mcmahon makes the point which they you know cater making the peace. And i think that it's but it it deserves of your beat. Is that mark. Cuban who has way too much on his plate is the general manager of the dallas mavericks title but by but practically and so the the entire history of the mavericks watch has been a question of who has his ear and i think the real narrative is that donnie nelson was had lost. You know at lost mark cuban's ear and heraldic. Bob is sort of filled that vacuum so that void. And so it's not necessarily like a game of thrones situation so much it is just like the person sitting on the throne has wandering i you know and and this is finally and may. Maybe there's some good that will come out of you know the inner sump three e two thirds of the inner circle. The two the two thirds that are being ignored actually being shown the door so that he could so that there's some sort of functional power structure. Now i will point to from bob sturm on on dallas radio. He made a couple of days ago. Which is that jerry. Jones who owns a dallas cowboys takes for himself the title of general manager Which in the nfl has spent the last twenty five years making fun of like. Gosh you are really think you can be the general manager. This team mark. Cuban it appears does exactly the same thing functionally but does not take title. Donnie nelson much loved executive in the nba has the tidal. Has that title president basketball operations. Whatever it is so mark. Cuban is almost distancing himself from the critique of this owner is meddling in everything doing everything over his head because one is a fairly recent title. I guess as a decade ago but to he just doesn't actually have the the the the job on the business and it's interesting how much slack that has earned him and it's totally true. It's really really fascinating. Let's do the over twitter joke of the week where we celebrate a gag. That was so obvious that media twitter made it at exactly the same time senior nominees to at the press. Box pod where they are always gratefully received. David from the you'll never look at the ninety s nba the same way again department Ben collins ben collins a reporter on nbc cuddle yet on all those things. He found an anti covid vaccine video. This is and it stars. John stockton john stockton the all time. Nba assist leader says in the video that he has done a significant amount of research about covid nineteen. It was an over twitter job to right even retirement. John stockton is still willing to pass up a shot. That's.

"So Russell Westbrook. He made some history on Monday when he broke us go Robertson's record for a triple doubles. Westbrook snagged rebound in the fourth quarter of the Wizards lost to Atlanta on Monday. Giving him his 182nd triple double. He topped the Robertsons previous record of 181 crit, triple doubles, so some legendary stuff right there from Russell Westbrook. So is Russell Westbrook, a top five point guard in NBA history. Yes. Let me first tackle the triple double thing like when I was growing up Oscar Robertson's triple double season was like the thing of myth of legend, right and Russell Westbrook's about the average triple double for the fourth time. So I don't care what context you applied that its legendary top five point guard all time. Well, the point guard thing gets a little tough because it depends on who you consider point guard like LeBron James is probably the greatest point guard of all time, right? Like If you're really talking about somebody who orchestrates an offense and runs a team now James Harden is a point guard. Really by nature you're seeing with the Brooklyn Nets, but he's been more classified as a shooting guard, so I'll go with The guys who have been considered quote unquote point guards for for most of their career, the top two to me or Magic Johnson and Steph Curry. And, you know, Magic Johnson is the greatest point guard of all time. I think Steph Curry Um, at his peak is the best point guard ever, like, just like pure explosive ability, when when he's got it going Beyond that, there's a group of guys who are fighting for those next spots, and they all have a case. I think Chris Paul has a case up up high there. You know Chris Paul Um, the point God as he's been referred to and you see the impact he has on various teams when he gets there, John Stockton People don't realize the records that John Stockton has be assist record in the steals record. Where Chris Paul's the next closest guide to him in assists, and it's like Well over 5000 assists behind John Stockton. Obviously not gonna catch him Those records. They're gonna be out of reach. When? When John Stockton, you know, not when he retires. He's obviously been retired for a long time. But John stock and already put those numbers out of reach Isiah Thomas, you know and what he was able to accomplish with Pistons. On Ben, You have the likes of Jason Kidd and Steve Nash. And I'm probably forgetting guys, I would say. Russell Westbrook to me is if you want to make the case, he's top five. He's got it now. And you could say that without anyone dismissing it. Probably personally would haven't somewhere between five and 10. And and that's where he would land but Regardless, the guy's had a hell of a career, and there are legitimate critiques would like crunch time decision making lack of consistent jump shot all that sort of stuff. What Knicks trade for Lonzo Ball could look like

"To the pelicans new orleans lonzo ball love him or leave him leave him. I think a lot of return for lonzo ball. And i i gotta tell you. I'm really impressed with all the talk. We've been having about lamelo ball lonzo. Ball's men baldwin him shooting the ball well from the three point line. He's not really playing. His position stands got him sort of three indeed settings threes. Chris i on your. I can pick and roll like okay. Zion's carmelo no lonzo ball is the karl malone and john stockton karl malone what the hell down world but it works. It works the upside down any can defend. Yeah leave him. Yeah that's what i think. He fits with the knicks. Because we talked about you talk about random about how well you know how hard air coats and commitment to the defense side of all you have to get a certain type of store star in new york. He's a guy that won't be afraid of coming in and do a little hard working in committing to both sides of the ball quickly which you know. Obviously well his dad prophesized already. He prophesied before but now we just gotta deal with him stats next.

"When you talk about John Stockton You talk about longevity? O my God. At the same time, John Stockton is the NBA's all time leader. Not just in assists, not Justin. Getting other players involved, not just in helping people out or or running a pick and roll. We call Malone John Stockton was a thief. John Stockton is the NBA's all time leader in steals. I'm playing. It's his forties. I mean for Ah, good amount of time. It seemed that John Stockton dammit, John Stockton could pretty much play forever. Underrated. Didn't talk showed up. Did his job never heard a bad thing? Never heard a bad word. And also, by the way, John Stockton, I must tell you was also one of the greatest shooters ever. But you wouldn't know that because of his acumen and passing the basketball and setting up Karl Malone and the rest of his teammates. It's time to keep things rolling. That was a package deal. Number two It's tough to say that this man never won a ring. He is one of the toughest basketball players to ever pick up a rock. He didn't have an easy road into the N B. A. He didn't have an easy road throughout the N ba. He didn't have an easy road out of the league, but he's one of the best. His name. Is Allen Iverson. When you think about Allen Iverson. Solid scorer. Someone barely six feet tall, 106 feet pounds. Allen Iverson was scrawny as a player Allen Iverson got beat up Alan Arvis and crossed you up once of the basket whenever you want, got knocked around, but kept Getting up. Even talk about practice. You could say he didn't want to. Allen Iverson helped take The Philadelphia 70 60 team in 2001 which was defensive oriented he helped take them to the finals were ultimately like the Pacers. They lost. They lost to the Lakers. But Allen Iverson, wass the offense that got them there. He was the engine. Unfortunately, he didn't get that storybook ending. But it's great to see Alan Iverson get the respect that he deserves here in 2020 and it's also good to know Did Allen Iverson Looks like he's in a pretty good shape. Not just as a athlete, but more so as a human. Alan Iverson is one of the greatest players never, ever win a ring. I'm going to take a break. We're going to come.

No Look Pass

"The NBA Wmba seasons have started back up I've only caught one game so far, but like many basketball fans I'm looking forward to the tempo and intensity. This season will brink. It's a lot more on the line. Players are bringing that to the game. Don't get me wrong. I'm looking forward to some highlights to Dunks, lobs crossovers, but is something about that. No look pass that true finesse to the gain. Some of the greatest. No look passes of all time. John Stockton Steve Nash Steph Curry Arguably. Rajon, Rondo Carl Malone. It's nothing like seeing a player in all confidence. Take that ball up the court. Drive into the paint in dish it off with a no look. Pass finished the player scores. In the NBA Dunks are expected, but is that no look pass that catches you off guard, which is why many have not mastered it. Two things have to happen at were four. No look pass to occur successfully. Fars the passer has to have foresight as to where the recipient will be. This is what makes the no look. Pass so smooth is just not the no look, but it's the no look with the understanding and awareness of where the recipient is going. The recipient must be ready. This can go either two ways. They can catch it or they don't, and they don't. is nothing short of a disappointment, because if caught ninety percent of the time is buckets. The second thing that must happen in order for the no look pass to be successful. The player has to be emotion. When you're in motion, you're not stopped or stationary. There's momentum being exerted. And, being emotion requires you to stay focused on what's in front of you while also anticipating what's coming at you and for the big man holding down the paint? This is not easy. These guys are huge six foot eight seven feet now is one thing to run the baseline, but a completely different one to run the court trail the pain, not clobbering the man in front of you while possibly anticipating a quick dish. From the point, Guard So many factors to account for in a lot of trust going on there. Is Not easy, even though it looks easy, you may be saying tiffany. How does this apply to me? I don't play basketball. You're right, but you might be working two jobs to make ends meet or staying at home, juggling the demands of your kids or carrying the load of school. Whatever it is, keep going stay emotion. God the Ultimate Point Guard sees it all in every now and then. He might throw you a no look pass. Will you be ready.

"Our guests tonight teaches at the I O. Theater in Chicago Illinois. He's the host of Gasping is from the Jack Box Party. Pack three you might. Might know him better as Shunt, the shape shifter from the podcast. Hello from the magic tavern. He is the host of payroll. Riddle just celebrated their Hundredth Episode Ladies and Gentlemen and the rest of you welcome to the show that one and only the great adult refi. Thank you so much. What does it dead on dossier? Feel like every time I get to see somebody doing improv. It's the same thing and it kind of upsets me it looks difficult and also embarrassing, and it makes me anxious. Why all say bad Improv pad and good Improv is good, so it's Yeah, runs the gamut. There is something with there's something with Improv where it's like. If I had never seen a live band before, and I went to like the Metro Chicago and saw abandoned. They are bad. I wouldn't be like well. Music sucks. But, so many people go and see their first Improv show and just be like Yikes. Bikes Wash Wash Improv just terrible so I point. Yeah, I totally understand. There's that Improv out there but. I just never seen it live. That's my problem got okay Gotcha Gotcha. I've seen plenty of Great Improv. That's well recorded. Presented to me curated. Love to see one one instance of Improv in the wild room like hell. Yeah I'm in. Improv in the wild I used to live in Utah, and they had a pretty big well. Almost twenty years ago, a couple of good improv troupe there that would do do shit. Live shows once a week and they were. They were pretty good I think one of my favorite I guess games. Is that what you guys? Call him well? There's if you're doing short. It's games if you're doing long formats forms. Tell me. What is it was a thing they would do where they would act. As they had eight minutes to act out a scene, and then they'd repeat it with half the time and repeat it until it's like a second long. Oh sure. Yeah, that's a game. Yeah, come at Comedy Sports Game. That was it was impressive. It was very impressive trying to keep track of it. How was living in Utah, isn't it? Is it fairly strict like no alcohol on Sundays and? Stuff that Utah Yeah. Nothing's open on Sundays, the whole pretty much closed. Because it is the Holy Land depending on, you know, the God of your parents, choosing whichever one it is. I moved I moved from Utah to Delaware. I live in Ireland now. Okay, but Quite a not really a culture jump there but I it is. Go. WHERE OUTSHINES UTAH? That's I'm just GONNA. Say I, don't have much love for Delaware, but you get right on out of here. If you're going to tell me, Delaware's not better than Utah. I drove three days and I was like wow, man I just drove three days to Idaho was Idaho with no mountains is what it was. The apartment that I was living in was also the apartment that house the Mormon missionaries and I role in car with Utah plates, and they all flocked over like I was from the Holy Land and. Insane and then I had one guy follow me home when I still had my Utah Tags. He followed me for four or five miles and he's like. Are you a member of the Church? That man John Stockton. Listen I still got love for John Stockton. I think it I think is the all time NBA leader in assists and steals which is insane. I have to actually admit Chad. I gotta change my answer from earlier. The thing that you definitely wouldn't guess about me. Is that as a child? I was an enormous Utah Jazz Fan that. That is what you wouldn't guess about me now to be fair. That's only because of NBA Jam. Okay I was GONNA. Say Greg Ostertag. Well Yeah I. was there for that Hornacek? To Montrose Montrose on time. I missed I. Missed the Carlos Boozer era you. When he then he went to Chicago but I was so great being able to buy a Utah Jazz, Jersey and walk around with a shirt that said boozer on the back.

"Jason and Alexis in the morning my talking with seven one eight thirty five well couple seconds away from me chase John Stockton Kenny muted my first person did you fantastic help so glad to be police say it was me do you really want me to say yeah yeah I had to meet Donald Trump well see us those words are muted on Sam yeah I don't do it in any politics at all on my Twitter account yeah so I don't do it in my life yeah hi hi I can't do any of ya I love politics but I I have to stay away from that yeah two sides it just rule Twitter and I just can not handle it no no no black civility and I thank you on there's no civil discourse I'll I I could engage other a civil discourse but there's not and people trailer so entrenched yeah and they tried to engage me politically on Twitter and even if you're on my side I am W. it you don't want I don't want to do it it's a full time job yeah and you're never going to win someone over on Twitter I wish people just knew that you're never ever ever going to persuade somebody on Twitter it's not it's you can't do it in two fifty two hundred and forty seven characters or whatever no all you probably can't persuade anybody in real life so why are you trying to do it in two sentences are some link that's full of made up crap anyway yeah and there's so many nuances and you can't hear inflection you can your tone there's so many things missing that can be a mess interpreted it's just it's dangerous it's a rabbit hole you especially nowadays you da shouldn't go down eight thirty six but speaking of the continuing our conversation we have an unintentional femur rather intentional today in the eight o'clock hour social media now dot now this is interesting this is hi I never thought about this social media conversation don tell everyone what happened to you well I went to see Jesus Christ Superstar at the Orpheum with a friend of mine Lori and her husband and they they have season tickets and when he goes on some type of a trip during the winter shell invite me and I want to have a great ticket to see if yeah so so I would just see Jesus Christ Superstar and you know it's it's the fifty year anniversary of the show so it's been around a long time and so we you know the music and stuff I was really super impressed with the cast I had a great time it's extremely difficult to sing the music especially for guys and so I really appreciated wow I mean these are great the vocal gymnastics these people can do and I know how difficult it is to sing on stage and dance at the same time I also appreciated the choreography and I thought it was fantastic I I had a good time so I put this up on my Instagram and I said you know I tagged the Orpheum I tag to the cast as Jesus Christ Superstar tour and I twelve thousand followers and I'm hoping they see at least say thanks if they don't no big deal I want those people to walk away going I made someone feel good today by doing my job and I just loved it but what I don't understand is that people will then if they didn't like it why are they putting that on my feet why are they commenting on my post saying I hated it it was the worst thing I've ever seen I left crying so I was so upset and then someone else commenting on and they're saying I thought it was awful too if you don't like it make your own post and put it on your own Instagram I think on the line but I think it's rude because I think I'm trying to lift people up and say I have I don't put negative stuff really on social media because I just don't want people I just don't I prefer not to do that but I don't understand why people go on other people's Instagram when they're saying I am having a great time and they go I actually hated that restaurant I am about I want to say to this person is I think you have a motional problems if you cried when you left a musical could yeah so uptight wouldn't confirm that the cast plus I'm like are you a dancer are you a singer do you know what it's like to be up there and do that because it's difficult and it's it was not shell don remember when flipping this just a little bit but I'm zeroing in on one particular aspect of this remember when you Alexis and I want to see dirty dancing no body guard body guard body guard body guard the musical and I came on academy to try to serve as a laughing and I came on the next day and just ripped it like it took it apart surgically and this woman I don't think I'll ever forget this comment of this post she she then took me apart for hating the show like how I ruined her life she was I mean it was that dramatic like and I'm thinking of this because that one woman she left crying I was like man it's so sure what it's it's it's and it is our goal things that's the difference here is all we are broadcasters and were reviewing things that we see there are talking about on the air is just you doing your job but this is interesting this is an injury because like Steph said I think I don't want to do it project my intention on to their heirs but I think they think that they're just engaging with you don right the air got like have a conversation with you yeah I hate that I don't I think that they're just want to talk to all the people that are looking at my feet and they want a bigger voice because they don't or attention yeah as an aside did you guys watch member when they did the live musicals did you watch the live Jesus Christ Superstar with John legend yeah and cerebral less yes it well don it was one of the best things I've ever seen I cried great was so please find it okay like that musical it was fantastic yeah I don't particularly love the content of the musical but I just appreciated what they did with it and S. damaging and yeah yeah it's just I I thought the cure choreography matched with what they were singing about it was it was great I hate Jesus Christ Superstar sure all Hey no I there's certain musical side that's for sure we could grab that we could isolate them and.

Tension between allies overshadows NATO summit

"Matter NATO leaders have begun arriving full them me sing in a what would just outside of London that this morning so far still says that he had a very good meeting with president trump of while NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg is said there's nothing new in differences within the NATO alliance we saw some real differences on display yesterday for more we're joined by by bring back great today who's out that may save me sing a wolf and we just heard from Emanuel McCall now Maria who said that NATO should not only be talking about money it was the full out between mac clone and trump in the visible tension on display at the NATO meeting yesterday between the two that sort of taking the headlines so far just he's saying it's not just about money and that is Amaral micron of course the problem is that it's becoming very difficult to determine all the fallen takes from the treatment is for Donald Trump really is in many ways about money he's saying that NATO works wars before a denim because more countries are paying more into NATO he also says that it is serving a purpose because you're seeing more countries take a more active role as you can see why the two men are coming from two very different places and yesterday of course that was very all these one time said that my car had been insulting disrespectful that he had been very nasty to NATO when he said it was I do have to say however trauma one point call need obsolete so the French are wondering what exactly is the difference publications what is the you know John Maynard Keynes I believe that when the facts change I change my mind since I started a new you know at the beginning of his his presidency things have changed has GDP the defense and to be very Frank yes and I was at NATO yesterday they were having an event and many of the people I spoke to their weight and meet at will concede that the pressure from trump who openly said you have to pay up or we're not going to pay we're not going to pay for rich countries did force everyone to think actually has a point and we should make an effort a you're seeing gradually there's not many countries that hit the two percent target but you are seeing more countries he more or make an effort to ward that so that is something that need a would give credit to term for although they say he's ways are not the most diplomatic and when I spoke to John Stockton and I told him look trump is saying and taking all the credit for the increase in spending why are you not taking credit for it he just said I don't care how we get there what I care is that we have strong NATO and trump has made it stronger interesting that we've seen in this sense club is a big deal is that for some reason it's very fit for purpose president John a voice in saying this morning we are investing two percent of GDP in defense I think was a special event you can go to a nice if you are part of that company any stump that much images we got him Maria about what is being talked about behind the scenes and what speeches over the arrivals handshakes I know there's been some video said placing around Justin Trudeau and the the sort of behind the scenes Chad said has been happening between world leaders and add just to go back to the to percent yesterday trump said he would like some countries to pay four percent and this is something that is very confusing to people because they have no idea where he gets a number from in terms of today will there is a video circulating where you see Justin Trudeau macro and mark Rutan Boris Johnson himself and daisy appear to criticize leader they don't need that person but they do say well you know we were late because he took a forty minute press conference he always does as and so on trend has not really talked about this today and the focus on the ground is whether we're going to get a resolution in Turkey whether we get a communique by the end of this and of course China the U. NBA: Does Steph Curry Need The Finals MVP For His Legacy?

"NBA finals begin finally tomorrow night wide Leonard comes in under the most celebration on the other side of Steph curry who in the last five playoff games has been absolutely sensational. Scoring even more than Kawai. Steph has three NBA titles to MVP's already but not a finals, MVP Colli does by the. Curry said, quote, it's a special award that everybody wants to get, including myself. But at the end of the day, the first thing I do is look up and see, did you win or lose on quote, we'll curry need this particular ward to validate his great career. No. And the fact that I never even thought about this today as much as I think about uncover, the NBA illustrates why. I mean, I've never thought about this now. It's interesting historical thing, Tony for particularly for older people like us who know the history of the league, and I think back on it, and of the people who've one of those who've won top twenty five place fifteen eighteen twenty players Julius Erving to me seems to be the most famous most accomplished has conic player who is not one because the other conic players, you know, they didn't win or they were the number two guy like Kevin McHale or, or someone like that Scottie Pippen great, great tonic players. I'm not gonna say they certainly are where they are. And I think Julius Irving is the guys is the only one. Right. I guess as Carmello Cremona, John Stockton, but they didn't they didn't. They didn't want to Patrick like you. Reggie, those are not commonplace like you. Seth curry has a chance to be an iconic. He's got a chance to win four championships in five years, he's the greatest shooter of all time. All right. I think of this as a small, it just doesn't even register on me, but, but magic Scott it and birds got it and Jordan's got it and his contemporaries Durant LeBron have this. So if you want to use this as disqualifier because you don't like curry, I guess you can not. I I he's an all time players ever wins this because of everything. He's one I think, might I think this is too small. You gotta get to the finals Griddle with you willing some place winning is the thing again. Tony, I just call it historical greatest note, but does it mean devalue Steph crises, not cement us, now

"Today's great data call especially given the week. We've had on calls. No one of our best call weeks in quite some time. Certainly the best call week of the year. And I'm off all next week. I'm gonna lay out the guest host says they're coming in. Coming up at the top of the hour. Milwaukee bucks. Head coach, Mike Putin Holzer. Billy Corbin is the director of the documentary screwball. It's a doc of watching it, and you're gonna find that really interesting. I'm gonna announce these smack off twenty-five date in our number three. Going to drop Jim Rome. Reloaded that's coming up later on Albee's gonna walk me off with a week to was in our number three. I've got ATP to one eight hundred six three six eight six eight six Alex bregman is gonna join me momentarily. Got immense respect for him. I have immense respect for him. How he plays the game where he started how he got to where he is an amazing player. Dear Jim, I need details about John Stockton. Like how many inches above the knee? Whereas pass signed Jake and Seattle wore the only shine left on Rick in buffalo being the sunlight reflecting off his bald head after Matt in Vancouver verbally assassinated him. John Stockton was not wearing shorts. But can I tell you? The guy was all class all class unbelievable class at Tom for everybody was taken picks. He was great. And I was trying to tell the boys that is that's John Stockton. Like one of the greatest ever Hof aimed at. Oh, hell, yes. Yes. Good to see him. Great. Magic Johnson was they're doing work up in the suite above us. Good night at the Honda center. One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six then you had opening day. Right. And that means it's time for everybody to freak out about a single game jump to conclusions after nine innings of nearly fifteen hundred inning season and for people to make that. Oh, so hilarious. Joke about half. The team's going one sixty two and about jock Peterson being on pace to hit three hundred twenty four home runs this year. Get it jock it to yesterday. So that means that he's on pace to hit two and every single game. Hey, hey. Hey, hey. Oh, man. That's always funny. That's always funny jokes about as fresh as a Toledo news team saying that it's time to eat a Gucci breakfast Gucci breakfast. Yep. Jackson, pay state three hundred twenty four home runs. Then the dodgers are on pace to hit twelve hundred and ninety six that would probably be a record in. Fact, it would break the record that the Yankees set last year by more than one thousand bombs. I don't know if they can keep hitting eight home runs a game. But I'll say what the dodgers Diamondbacks did yesterday was a damn impressive way to start the season and MLB record eight home runs on opening day, not combined. Well, technically, combined the dodgers hit eight home runs and the Diamondbacks gave up eight home runs. Jock had to in week eight Hernandez head to Austin Barnes had a bomb. Cory Seager, max Muncie. Cody Bellinger, all had home runs. What a joke. There are teams. They're are going to struggle to get eight hits in a game this year and the dodgers just smoke eight bombs right out of the gate. And as long as we're talking about guy smoking things out of the gate. There was Yankees first baseman. Look void picking up where he left off last year. He made his debut in August last season. And from that point on he had the second highest in all baseball. Here's what he did in his first at bat..

"Now at first I was gonna say, you know, he looked like he was tangled up. It could have been an accident. But if it was on purpose. It was such a heavy play by him to stick out his arm like oh, sorry, my bad as he's running away. 'cause then you can be like, no, no it was on purpose. I was apologizing would happen. Like watch the video again is Suzanne goes by whoop. Sorry might that sticks out the arm like apologizing. I mean, I don't obviously don't know this guy. Maybe he could be you know, that sort of short fused and just made a split-second decision. That was terrible, and you know, realize it afterward. But I don't know. I just have a hard time. Believing that Chris you watched it. Yeah. He definitely did on purpose, ROY. Oh, yeah. Definitely my show. Yep. Chris you've ever tried to do something like that and they athletic. I mean, you have right. Of course, they have. And when you do it. You'll notice that the player like Billy just said, that's when you know, he did it on purpose whenever they act like oh, sorry. Like whenever they throw. They wanna make you think that they didn't do it on purpose. That's actually a good point in soccer. Whenever you watch soccer whenever there's a close like like a collision between players if you see one player whole two arms up, you know, that he just committed the penalty. That's a good point. Because before I was thinking, you know, what it wasn't a thing that was on purpose. But if it was an accident, he wouldn't even have been aware that he did it. So he was definitely aware that he did it because of his leg was just out there. He could be like how did he get got a good amount of his foot for him to feel like it would have been able to feel it. I hate the people when you play basketball pick up games that they go, and they they slide underneath you. When you come down to try to roll your ankles. Oh, I've been put on you need to watch and not everybody. But in need to definitely watch this Yukon Houston game and this number five for Houston with short shorts. I mean, this is a look this is a look, and I don't know if it's coming back. But this is it is coming back. There's dude Zion. Scott kind of short short does compression shorts. There's a dude for LSU that handles and he's got the short shorts. Like, the the John Stockton's with no compression shorts normally warm-ups. Yeah. That's a look like they're like, they're like biker spandex, Mike. Are you watch this guy upper upper five Mike, why can't the uniform just be spandex at this point?.

That makes him one of three players twenty or younger in NBA history at least twenty games of ten rebounds antennas in the season. "Clay Travis is back at it. Again. Outkick the coverage, I think I work harder. At what I do. Brian James does at basketball like this idea that athletes work hard. I think is laughable in many respects because all they have to do is train for like two hours a day at most. And after that, it is counterproductive to work abroad is always like most people wouldn't be able to do what I disagree. I think most people if they were six foot a if they were a horrible wounds body, right except they had John Stockton's dribbling ability. That's basically what LeBron James is right for old school basketball people you basically just sit this is John Stockton and coral Vallone into the same player. Right. I think most people if they had lebrons athletic gifts would be pro athletes now, some people would screw it up right there at evidently, there's lots of people who are giving. A lot of gifts until LeBron's credit. He did it screw it up. He didn't find a way to it's a totally blow his athletic talents. But I think LeBron James is in terms of talent, probably the most supremely talented athlete in the history of America. Like, they're just they're like how many people in the history of America have had LeBron James's physical street. Stature everything else about him Shirley from a physical perspective. There may be no one bright just in the same way that Shaquille. I saw night where Shaquille O'Neil said if he were playing today he'd be to get the rest of what clay Travis says podcast.

"Some studies have shown sleigh contradictions for example, in certain dual situations that require different parts of the brain the right and left lobes of the brain are both activated. But neither have the complete power of the brain behind him. The number of errors that the research subjects made were significantly increased or in these brain splitting moments and the rapid shifting of tension between the lobes made it difficult to definitively pinpoint true multitasking, and then he even goes on to say that in the same research when third task was added to the mix the subject performance declined rapidly and one of the tasks was commonly ignored or completely botched. So this study was controversial in its inclusions. But it does offer another perspective. What what good what good is multitasking? If you only apply at a simple tasks that will likely be performed imperfectly. Botch that were deny imperfectly. So what good are that? You know, if you're trying to multitask. And but you're not all in on any of these tasks you might even botch some of them like I did that word because I was most likely looking at my recording to see the things we're still recording and looking down on my notes that I watched the word imperfectly. All right. So many experts believe the trainer multitask is actually damaging to the brain's ability to focus maintain attention on single subject. I thought that was pretty fascinating the more you try and become a multitasker the more likely that your brain will try and take in too much information take on too many tasks and not perform any of them, particularly. Well, it's almost as if that neuro plasticity of the brain saying me, and is that what this guy's gonna do all the time. I guess I better ram myself up and try to get as good at as I can even though we now have the data to show that I'm not going to be very good at it. That's my brain talk in there. So in other words, he says try to take things one at a time and give your brain break, you'll be better off in the long run. So yet thank you John Stockton. I really I really appreciated that. So I want you to think about next time. You are thinking about I'm multitasking. Can you just stay on one neurological path and finish that task? And then move to the next spring a little bit of a wariness when you note notice that I am starting to switch focus. Have you have you completed the task at hand?.

"And now, I realize I can make quite a bit of use of those that time, and I don't think I was ever a person that would would think, you know, I gotta squeeze everything that every minute of every day kind of person. But but that has been the case over time. So I think often about just that concept of time, and I will often think about that leads me to. Here's that train of thought part about if I'm if I'm looking at a texter got a phone message or a have some emails the back to vinyl something's going on. I mean, and this is just being authentic. I wanna make sure and try to reach out to my kids throughout the day. Whether it's a text or Amine, or, you know, something I don't know, whatever it is just let them know. I'm thinking about them. And this is a big passion of mine, my wife, and I love to touch base throughout the day as well. And in fact, Vogel phone one quick tangent. When I'm here couples therapy. And sometimes let's say spouse says, you know, I really appreciate it. When my husband will. We'll just reach out to me just let me know that something's going on. And then I'll have I'll have guys say not all guy. Okay. That sounds good. I I wasn't aware. I'll make a bigger effort. But when guys say, look, I'm busy, you know? And I always think myself, I think you aren't for one second look up something on the internet, or you aren't going to the restroom or you know, we're talking about shoot them. A hey, I'm thinking about you in. So I wanna fit those things in there as well throughout the day. But so that that brings up that concept of how can your brain multitask here that concept often where people say my brain is good at multitasking or I can't multitask. And so and I've gotten several questions emails over the last year. So where people will say, Ken, the rain, multitask, or what's wrong with me because my brain can't multitask. Or I am only linear thinker or those sort of things if they're bad thing. So I thought it would look it up in this is coming from website called science ABC dotcom in an article by a gentleman named John Stockton. And so most of what I'm going to read here is going to be from this article and John did a nice job. I don't know. I don't know. John may say starting Mr. Stanton didn't job of. Packing here what it means to multitask. So he says inter fast paced sensory overloaded modern world, which already love that concept. Sensory overloaded is definitely a case. The ability to multitask, seems like an essential skill. If you wanna survive and thrive, and I think that's the concept where people bring it to me of what's wrong with me. If if they're telling themselves that story, if I can't multi test, but juggling multiple ideas, or tasks or conversations or streams of attention is now considered this invaluable skill for professionals almost as if you and I've heard a couple of people in job interviews, where they say, how do you do multitasking, and that's one of those questions where the person knows that their answer is supposed to be. I'm good multitask, all over the place, but can human beings actually divide their attention and take care of two things at once. Or what about when you're throwing three or four is possible to multitask. So starting says the short answer, and I found this through multiple websites that in in all that I could find that the short answer is. No. And if it seems like you can what that is is that your brain working quickly. It's actually working on to. At the same time. This is where things get really interesting kind of fascinating..

John Stockton Mr. Stanton Ken Vogel ABC one second
