"Our families, our friends and social media? How vocal do we need to be about what we believe like? Do, we have to take a stand. is a cow like are we are we missing an opportunity or like? Shirking responsibility if we don't take a public stand for correct our parents or try to convince a friend of what we believe like you. Can we be quiet about it? Should we be quite about do we have to talk about it? Are we responsible for convincing other people like help public does this need to be? Yeah for sure I guess for me I feel like Arjun ration- everyone younger than us has grown up. In like this absurd time, which is probably how it's always gonna be from now on. But like we have grown up with this expectation. That likes to be public that would never have been public before like nobody before us grew up with pictures of their entire lives on the Internet. And grew up with. You Know Your Zanga Journal and all your thoughts being public when you're a middle schooler like that's fun when we have candidates who thank as possible in two years but. A treat for us all. Like we just it's a crazy time now to think that. If. You didn't post a picture of it. You didn't go to it or if you didn't tell them how to birthday on Instagram that you don't love them or if it's not in your stories that it wasn't important like I, don't personally subscribe to that belief I think that some of the most meaningful things in your life can happen off the Internet and you're not obligated to share everything with the world. So first. Of all if you don't want to talk about politics online lake, don't it's your life I think reason that we have a secret ballot in this country is because it's our right to vote for someone and not have to tell anyone who voted for. So if your family asked, you don't WanNa tell them find a kindly of ING like I don't love to talk about politics or certain family members maybe you can insert found. Birds, maybe it's too hard like their family members where I have to go out of the political conversation when it starts because I know they're trying to bait me and I know from having talked about that it's not going to go in a good place. So those people I just kind of say Oh did I tell you about this change just tell them I. Really don't want to talk about this but with other. People I think that you can use your influence. I'm a big believer in like deciding what you want to use your influence on because i. think that just yelling as long as you can about every topic is gonNa cost you will just ignore you and Johnny you know John Route because being allowed us one doesn't necessarily mean that you're the most articulate one. So I think deciding like which things talk about publicly is important. But then realized like is something that you care about you have influenced and you have a voice and. You have more means now than ever had to share that voice look just as we lose a crazy time with over sharing. Also, think we live in an exciting time where a single individual can have the loudest that's ever been possible in the world right now. So I think if you're a person who really really thinks that elections are hugely important or there's An issue that you're really passionate about that, you advocate or you have a bigger voice than ever had now in it's a cool time to get to say what you believe and I I think it's entity quiet about a lot of things. But if there's a situation of injustice that were called to speak up but period I think if there's someone you know. was being victim when injustice we know it and we don't say something that's different. But just about politics in general I don't think you have to save in on the Internet no you can. But you don't have to and I, think the way you say it matters the frequency with which you say it matters and You know the sources you cite the. Not Make I think we're when you can tell a personal story and put a human face on issues. That's always more helpful than just saying this is what I think. If you can say like this is what a person I know has experienced people listen to you more. You know you can get them to understand another person's point of view rather than just saying. Here's my thoughts on immigration. So to me, it's not even just whether you should speak. It's how you should speak. That's important. Yeah I really appreciate that immune I have had really extensive conversations about you know as I've been trying to figure out what kinds of things I want to share publicly in what kinds of things I wanna talk about with friends and family in you know over the dinner table and I think for the most part when it comes to politics I prefer to have conversations like in person and with my people I, find that that's With my personality like just the way that I process best the way I think that's and. And also like it's I think that you know we all come down differently on all kinds of issues because we all see the world differently and we all have different backgrounds and different people. We know that have been impacted by different things and. I think that especially in my corner of the Internet I feel like my job is very specific like we're here to to be sisters in France for each other I'm here to be a mentor and a and a cheerleader in your corner to remind you how much God loves you and help you in whatever ways I can with your friendships and your faith and your relationship with yourself and your relationship with significant others and I feel like. That's my job online and so politics in debates and things like that. One I don't enjoy debating makes me really really stressed out. Like. Really gives me anxiety and two. I just feel like I would rather have those conversations around the dinner table and have the. That I feel like I can I don't know how to have the kinds of conversations. We have here online and let those happen elsewhere. So that's kind of. A tricky thing. It's a really tricky thing and sometimes we swing one way and it doesn't go well or swing another way and we feel like we got it wrong and. SOMETIMES WE WE WANNA speak up about certain things, and sometimes you know we let some things pass by and I don't know it really imperfect thing and it's a really hard thing talking about things especially online I find. Or with family members where you know you don't agree it's just really tricky and we're all trying to figure it out. and. So just if anyone is struggling with that, but you're not alone and the the you are allowed to make whatever decisions you feel are best. Yeah I totally agree and I would I think I would add to things to that one I think it's helpful and freeing imprint to remember that some things are political and some things aren't like. The idea of politics is really stressful and contentious but there are some issues like for instance. Like whether the life of a black person and a white person is of equal value.

"Your favorite movies long flight or a long drive, what kind of music genre or artists are you most likely to listen to well, let's start with the books and read a lot of them when I had time to do it and still try to as much as I can love the call of the wild by Jack London. When it comes to long flied are long drive long drive. Okay. Yeah. When it comes to what were the some. So so so if you're on that long tribal kind of music, would you most likely be listening to classic rock or oldies? Okay. And how do you differentiate gimme gimme a great classic rock band that you would would love to hear stones Beatles zeppelin zeppelin there. The other two oldest some of the sixty stuff early sixties. Yeah. Okay. And movies to favorite movies would be lonesome dove and dances. With wolves dare go the western genre. The western John route. So what's the best movie based in Indiana? Or let me give you two which is better hoosiers breaking away. I like hoosiers better. I was a starting forward on a high school basketball team that went to the semi-state back in nineteen seventy two. So that definitely hits you where does. Yeah. That's a great movie. They're both fantastic. Good movies. Breaking away is kind of a niche movie. About. I mean how many state bike race? You know, who does a movie about that? There's a lot about a lot of other things too. But both are terrific, Indiana based movies good movies. So what's your where's your office in the Senate? What office building are you in? I'm in the basement of the Russell building. Okay. So so the most distinguished of the three Russell is the most stately of the three Senate office buildings. It's not the largest the rooms are smaller there because it's older. Yeah. Do you like being in Russell is that good? Or did you like being roughly in Dirksen, her heart, the more modern and larger tell you what when your second from the bottom in terms of seniority and only Rick Scott because he got sworn in later so Josh Holly. And I flipped a coin Senator from his URI, right? Yeah. I lost the flip. So I haven't ever earlier, you know, operate with low overhead, and it'll be the nicest office I've ever had even in the basement. So when I get into my permanent office, the digs will be great. So I've met many people who've come to Washington from a business career, and they don't hire as much staff as others to are you going to be similar in? That regard. My goal would be not to use my full allotment. Do you? How much is that full lot? You know, I think it's like two point seven million which seems to be an awfully high figure for a staff, but wait till the mail comes in. Well, she'll need people to read it answer it and send it back. That's that's that's labour-intensive Senator tell you that. But you'll try to you will you will you will keep an eye on less than that. If you can that's the benefit of having grown up in the business world an entrepreneur along with being a business person. Guided me, even in my campaign through the primary, and the general it's a it's a monumental task to actually come from the outside finance a campaign fundraiser, put a team together. "Mean it's candycoated an outsized and very high fashion and very sort of avantgarde always feels like a step ahead of the market trends in the us than anywhere else so i think the there's something so eyecatching about a that i think at has people just coming back and back backwards a reference point and also is residents version certainly was for us jason do you think that in the united states we miss some of the nuances or the satire that often in the form i don't think so what's been so wonderfully surprising is that so many people even though the script is bilingual seem to understand what's going on and i think what's been so lovely about it is that you can be someone who doesn't understand the language and read emotionally what's happening and i hundred begin was it when the american forces were stationed in korea during and after the korean war give me one american pop music oh sure i think at elvis was it it was a very huge a phenomenon in in korea and go when i was growing up there in the 80s in the early nineties k pop as we know it now started emerging as as as a john route and since that time since i moved here in two 95 it's become a massive global phenomenon and and it is a very new music industry when you look at it and but you're right i mean it was the us military's radio stations that started playing a lot of eldest in the beatles when the military was there during the korean war what had korean music been before the traditional korean music with eric korean pop music will there's a long tradition of ballots in korea that goes back even before the 50s and also i mean a lot of green pop music is is as i have research than understood it is an amalgamation of a lot of forms that really reflect the colonial history of the country in many ways although when i think of k papua cinco heavy beat the the either a drum machine or some drummer who's really hitting his base drum hard why do you think size song gag ntim style was the.
