"Unfortunately for the rest of the league the lakers championship hangover only lasted for one. The champs had to blow out wins this weekend. They beat the mavs by twenty three on christmas day and then the thirty six point win against the timber. Wolves with anthony davis wrestling a cash drain on the first half of back toback last night. So ramona what impressed you. The most about the lakers this weekend. I like their new guys. I like the way that markets all looked especially last night he just gives them such a different dimension to the way that they played last year. He's such a great passer and one of the things that lebron james always talks about playing with high. Iq players very that was why he bonded so well with john rhonda last year. Marcus all is exactly that kind of player in it. Kind of reminds me phys you. Tell me if i'm base okay. Kinda reminds me of what kevin love did for the cavs when the brahm was there. Big man who was space a floor. Great passer that outlet pass. Last night was like unbelievable. That's something kevin would do. And it's just a dimension they didn't have last year that i think opens up a whole other side of their offense agree with that but i even think mark is another level passer than even kevin love like mark is he. He sees the game. How lebron sees the game but he does it from the center position. And that's what. I think makes him so unique for their team. So even lebron as we've tried to watch to see if he's age at all watch how many easy layups see git so his numbers won't look like he's aging at all because mark is going to be able to get him easy baskets schreuder is going to be able to get him easy baskets and got to see that over the course of these games. I think the other thing that really impressed me about him was how play without and i think that's something that you know when i watched the clippers without kawhi watching them without a d that's going to be the tale of these teams. Because he's always going to lose a stud candidate keep the train rolling without that guy and the lakers showed that it is important to them to try to win it again and they were disappointed with that one loss but they came back with a fury over the next two games and i think we saw a picture of what they're going to be all year. I mean marcus soul and the high post is you. And i talked about this just last week. He's unstoppable from there like his vision. Is court vision is great. He could play quarterback honestly like he gets the ball and such tight windows. There's no. There's no doubt about that. And i'm glad you brought up the thing about lebron. Yeah yeah for sure. The thing about lebron. There's this notion that well lebron needs the ball on his hands and playing with another playmaker is a deterrent on the contrary if you look at lebron's career even when he was younger when he had another playmaker around him to make life easier for him he excelled whether it was dwayne. Wade kyrie irving you name it. There's a lot of guys there that move the ball to help him as well. He's obviously as unbelievable. Passers we've ever seen play the game. Magic johnson in that conversation but this certainly benefits from having those kind of guys. Dwayne used to get them. You know linked court stuff. Lebron wanted to run everybody now in the half court mark is going to be able to get them back cuts you know little easy spinouts and things like that that only mark the saw or joke is type player can make those are the only kind of guys that can make those passes in the way to frank runs has offense were he really gets the other guys to commit to move without the ball. Everything is we. Energy margot saul is going to make them so hard to be as they move forward. Yeah it has unlocked. Kyle kuzma as we've talked about. Ramona cruises played well with markelle soul out there on the floor. He just signed the new extension. And i think that this is it. Look if he starts performing like we've seen here in the last game or two then all of a sudden napping looks like a steel doesn't it. I mean i thought the contract itself looked like steel when it when it was you know three years forty million dollars. I mean he was. I think he had visions of you know sixty seventy million okay when when they were first talking so for them to get him at that price and it also takes away. I think a lot of the drama around houses no which was it was going to be a storyline in a sense. An a pressure for the him and the lakers all year long. Because they didn't do that extension. He was going to be eligible for restricted free agency. Obviously there's always tension with him because he sees himself as a starter last night. He got to start okay he he was the guy who went into starting lineup and i thought he looked great. He always plays great when he starts. Because he's got something to prove But but now you can relax a little bit. He got paid. He's may not have been as big as what he wanted. But he's still getting forty million dollars the next three years and i think for coups it. Lets him settled into whatever role he's going to carve out for himself without every single game being a referendum on are they going to give them a contract. Is he worth it. How much is he worth right. All right another team. That turned things around this weekend. The warriors steph curry led a late comeback over the bulls with thirteen points in the fourth. That's a huge three from damian lee in the final seconds that.

Los Angeles Lakers Win NBA Finals 106-93 Over Miami Heat

"Lebron James finally saw his Hollywood dreams come true after two seasons of being there. He's brought a title back to the Los Angeles Lakers in not simple fashion they had to. Put up a fight against the Miami Heat who who fought valiantly. But in the end, they lost one game in each round and two games in the finals there champions obviously, Anthony Davis arrival. There has made a huge amount of difference but the you can spread a lot of credit around for the Lakers including a guy named John Rhonda who in my mind was the difference in the series. And now, of course, Lebron ended the game by saying At the ceremony respect for everybody and I want my damn respect

"It's not really a Lebron versus Jordan thing it's just simply is Lebron James the goat, he gets his fourth title. With three different teams. Now, he wanted to with Miami He won one with Cleveland and I do think that that one was impressive. Kevin love and Kyrie irving good players. But they're not. They're not Anthony Davis, they're not Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in their prime. Though they're not that marquee superstar yet I mean Kyrie Irving maybe was approaching that but No. Not In that same category is he the goat? Let's go check out the vote it started out. Yes. was like eighty percent of the votes here. So I want to go check that out it just jumped to fifty fifty percent how how about that Yes or no? Wow. It's torn on facebook to. Top says I have no doubt. It could have adjusted in played in the NBA of the eighties and nineties the game flat out just sucks now. I don't think it sucks. I still enjoy watching it. Are, there. Major issues with the NBA? Yes absolutely. Like. A guy like James Harden would be a top ten player in the league top five player in the League if it wasn't for the rule changes now that doesn't mean he could prove it. He could have proved me wrong right when the time machine and he can adjust his game. I also think James Harden took advantage of the system changed his game around so that he could take advantage of it, but you know again Lebron's taken advantage of it. Lebron always used to do that kind of shoulder thrust thing. And now that's a big part of his games plowing through. There's I'm not taking anything away from Lebron James. He's I. Think Guy was a great text by him. He said as in the conversation but the simple fact that we have to say he's in the conversation means he's not. Right I mean, shouldn't they be like that hall of fame thing Colfax I always say is this Guy Hall of Famer I heard Dan Patrick and the Danettes this morning on kfi talking about. John Rhonda John Rondo Famer. Yes or no? No I mean again, basketball of way different. They just have overall basketball hall of fame. You, need an MBA when it's drives me crazy they don't. I would say no. is very good but. What does that? What is hall of fame? Guard look like to you. And I don't I wouldn't put in. There is Lebron James Goat is the greatest of all time see better than Michael Jordan is he better than Kobe Bryant is better than Magic Johnson and Larry Bird these are a lot of these guys. Now I didn't watch I didn't watch labor an watch magic Johnson. I watched Michael Jordan growing up. And I mean. The marketing factor alone Jordan took a nation the world. By storm everybody liked Mike. Everybody wanted to be like Mike they made a song about it. I mean. Dan I'm talking about celebrity but. Jordan was was just a different player man i. mean his his stats are overall like he averaged in his thirteen in his fifteen year career, which do you even count those last two years with Washington? Be Averaged Twenty one points a game. In. Those. In, those years, which is still nuts. They all man Jordan averaged in that money. After three years of being retired again. People kind of want to forget about that last and that he had in his career, he averaged thirty point one points per game but in his career with Chicago, which is where most people look at his body of work thirty one point five points per game. And Lebron in his career twenty, seven point one just want to talk about points. Lebron average twenty seven point one points a game. And it was at he was at his best when he was with Cleveland. which makes sense because he was the guy I eleven seasons with Cleveland. EARLS I. What? Eight seasons however many that was because he's played he's played in seventeen year. He's played seventeen seasons in the NBA Jordan played fifteen Lebron's played seventeen. So. Obviously, when you go look at the overall point, Yeah Lebron has more two more seasons. More that that's a hell of a lot more points there when you take take that into account Lebron was the better rebounder. Will be better on the assist side Jordan had more steals again, we can go stat for stat all day it does hurt lebrons credibility that he bounced teams. No matter. How many times he apologizes for and says, he regrets it the decision. In Two thousand and ten that summer. was still a turning point in Lebron's career both positively because that's what started edging toward getting championships. But. It also turn things negatively knew he had the one hour special about where he was going to go. And then he joins with studs. He joined with Dwayne Wade who already a title with Shaq with Miami he joined with Chris Bosh. Well, they signed Chris Bosh part of that. So it was their big three. Joins I mean they didn't even win that first year. In Dallas doubt the. Dallas got his one championship. And then then they went in the middle, his four seasons with Miami they want to, and then he goes on that right now one not two not three, not four but seven, we're going for seven titles well, they got to with Miami. I think again, the tightly one Cleveland down three one. That was amazing. That's one of those great moments in sports. But I think more people tend to go toward the Jordan side of it. Now to be fair again I say Jordan's the greatest. But I based purely off of okay what I remember seeing and obviously what I've seen now just in videos and clips and documentaries and stats and championships marketability all those things I'm factoring in now when I watched Kobe Bryant at an older age so I, you know I loved basketball when I was ten I understood basketball..

"Music. It's Tom talk hoops. Robin Lundberg show sons, Robin Lundberg. He'll be back next week, extremely filling in hanging out with you all across the state Be a sports radio network. Start off the show this morning. Really lot ing the Lakers and applauding the Lakers. For their big game 11 against the Nuggets, and you look at the fortunes or misfortunes. I should say of the other top seeds, The Bucks, of course in the East, the Clippers and they're collapsed to that same nuggets team out West. Even the Raptor that I put them far below the collapses of the Bucks and clippers, but they Out out to the Celtics last round as well the Lakers or the last top seed standing and they look better than ever. I mean, one of the storylines from the start has been. This is LeBron's campaign ship to lose, but I think it's more apparent than ever now. When the M V P not. We're not winning the MVP, not what's standing, but to help us further break this down and give us a little more insight on all things N Before we go to the phones and grab Michael Caskey blow main, who was an MBA right over CBS Sports and CBS Sports Teach you, Michel. Good morning. How are you? I'm doing Well, thanks for having me on Michael. Thanks, sir. Ah for taking the time and get up early with us, So let's start off by getting your reactions to last night or us high on the Lakers. I am. Do you think they'll easily dispose of what might also be a very tired nuggets team and worn out team. Yes, I think it would be really hard not to be pretty high on the Lakers after watching how they played, you know, throughout the postseason and pretty much around the restart since you know games began again in Orlando. They just look, you know, really focused. Obviously healthy, Aah and motivated, Obviously, like you said, with LeBron leading the way for potentially trying to win his fourth championship, they just look You know, locked in and as good as they have all season and, you know, give the Nuggets a lot of credit. I do think they'll make it a serious I think they'll be able to pull out a game or two if ah You know Jamal, Jamal Murray and nickel yoke its get going. They didn't have their best game last night, but overall, I think you know me like everyone else expecting to see the Lakers in in the finals, competing for Ah, title. Yeah, And what's interesting knows the Lakers, Of course, when the bubble first restarted, and we had the plane games granted and have much to play for, But you know, like the bucks there, up and down, and they lose Game one to Portland and James going crazy. And you say Wow, could this but they really righted the ship, which Milwaukee never did in East. Yeah, I think a big part of that has been their defence They've been, you know, so dominant on that end of the ball, basically give or take. You know that first game against Portland. They allowed a lot of points and ever since then, they really You know, it seems like they're just locked in on that side of the ball, and they have Much length in size and versatility. And also, I think a big part of them. You know their success in this postseason effect. They just have a lot of guys that have been there, you know, other than LeBron. Obviously you have Rondo guy with a ton of playoff experience that has been huge for them. Right. Howard came in last night after night, really playing in the Houston Siri's and gave them huge minutes. You know, they have a lot of guys that have been, you know, been in long postseason battles before and the kind of know what it takes. And now that Ah, you know, that really comes in handy in the postseason, especially in one like this, you know, unprecedented down in the bubble in Orlando. Yeah, And then that's such a good point. You even look at last night yet. Rondo ending 9.7 assists. Dwight Howard gave you 13 points off the bench. Me nots, a formula for LeBron and 80 Khun play like LeBron and Anthony Davis. And then you need, You know, Here's the Dwight Howard one night or like we saw in Houston. Here's where John Rhonda with a vintage playoff rondo performance, you know Casey, Pia's 18 Danny Greene at some shots that really, I mean, if they're clicking You can see the formula work from those other guys. Yeah, absolutely. Like you said. That's the key and you know, And this LeBron doesn't even need to be putting up. You know, 25 30. Right, which is what's nice for him. You know, he's he's moving the ball around, getting other guys involved. You know, guys, they're knocking down shots. KCP Danny Green proves Mom has been coming in and given them some solid ministers have a lot of guys like you said, So it's not You know, night in night out basis. It's not gonna be the same guys outside of LeBron and 80. But there's enough other guys that are stepping up. They're contributing. That's going to make them you know really difficult to be. Is LeBron have a right to be a zoo ticked off as he seems to be about only getting 15 16 1st Place M V p votes. I think so. I think that the race was a little bit closer than that. When you look at you know how how well LeBron played this season and how he took the Lakers from, you know, out of the playoffs. Lastyear, too. You know the top overall feed in an extremely competitive Western conference. That's not to say Johannes wasn't deserving, but I think it's this point in his career. You know, LeBron has been the best player in the league for so long. I think he has the right to feel..

"Lakers guard John Rondo sixty eight weeks with a fractured thumb. Lee Rondo out, we know you love Rondo. Is this news? Well it's it's a blow to the Lakers. Of course, because Avery Bradley and other garden slightly different position doesn't really play. The point got. He's also outside the back court. Depth is is certainly going to take a little bit of a hit here. Is An interesting one because the Lakers were clearly looking to try to get some support for that point, God spot tried to sign Darren Collison earlier in the season didn't really work. So I don't think they have complete faith in Rondo, but the fact that he's not GonNa be there for the most of this resumption is going to hurt them a little bit, but when you have someone like Lebron, who can contemplate point God? We've known he's done that in the place in the past. You've got a fairly good option there. And Caruso obviously he's going to be more minutes for him as well, but I think that's the thing when you when you announce to plays down, just means these extra. These guys are going to have to play extra minutes, and that could potentially lead to some more injury, so it's a blood is GonNa Mission for sure just to have another body at there, but in terms of whether or not, they can still win the championship. I don't think that really changes. I think they're still at their best. That, they're still clearly one of the favorite out of the Lakers, the Celtics and the excuse me the box and the clippers, but It's going to be a bit of a blow to the official. I don't think this is really. All that newsworthy it's unfortunate and John Rhonda would eight minutes as Lewis and it'd be nice if this happened for the Lakers, before they got to Orlando and they could just potentially find a another body if if Rondo was out for if they knew he was out for a long period of time, but at the same time he could be back for the second round of the playoffs. Yeah, they can have a problem finishing off with it's the Memphis Grizzlies or the Portland Trailblazers without Ron Rondo. No, sir, even if it's the conference finals, they should have if it's eight weeks. The the the length of the longest that John Rondo could be out six to eight weeks here. He would be back for the conference finals against the clippers yeah. We're pencilling in the clippers the Lakers right now i. don't think it's an issue. Lebron is their point, guard and contiguous caldwell-pope. Stan's GONNA stand out there in place of Avery Bradley and Danny Green is GonNa start beside him and outs Caruso. Quinn Cookham can come off the bench, and as we said, they're looking for Darren Collison to have a guy who can, who can shoot I mean. That's the primary focus. I think for their backup. Point Guard. And that's why Rondo probably wouldn't have got a ton of minutes. You know down in crunch time because playing alongside Lebron ad we've seen. Lebron needs shooters around him and Rondo. Look at the percentages. Sometimes, they're good. But Yeah. He's not an Oscar, so is gonNA step up. I mean that's I. Don't think it's really really much of a worry I. think Bradley's a bigger one because they don't really have anybody to guard little guards. A Bradley would be that guy if there's a quick little water bug out there that they have to guard, but I don't know I'm not that concerned. You concern skates well. I'll add this I saw Kevin Pelton right this. He crunch the numbers per cleaning the glass, and there's a theory that maybe Rhonda's injury could actually help. The Lakers play more effective lineups because the Lakers were minus six point eight net rating with Rondo on the court. That's the worst of any player who was seen more than four hundred minutes this season. That, said. Playoff Rondo guys was a real thing. and. Let's go back in time to win. That was. Way To the two thousand eighteen with the Pelicans we still in playoff Rondo. Home on. Twelve point two assists per gamely in. The first round I mean he was good. Okay? Yes, I did better than. Look. He played well against the blaze question that he. He was instrumental in that series upset of the Blazers, but but the the assist numbers I like. Run as is about himself. They're not about helping his team and he's always stuffing his own stats. That's there's no question about that. He's done that for his entire career, but I heard. Rondo was actually asking the League to get playoff Rondo in the back of his head I. It's real, but also. Wanted Tonight. All you can, but it's legit real he. Plays better. Yeah, well, he there's no question. He tries hotter in the playoffs that that's that's undeniable. And that upset again good against the blazers, but then what happened in the next? Where was where it was playoff Rondo in the next round? Sure you know that that's my point is like. The he ten years ago, whenever it was for the Celtics, and he had those incredible games against Lebron Lebron, he was great, but the play of Rondo myth has carried on significantly longer than it ever actually lasted. It wasn't. It wasn't as a low Rondo was. Close to winning MVP of the finals or anything like that I mean he had some good Games. No doubt about it, but. He's kind of carried that reputation. He's he's. He's dined out on that for long, so let me ask you this. In a close series. We're into game six and seven. It sounds like maybe both of you that you would trust Alex Caruso over playoff Rondo in obviously you know in a in a must win or a huge quarter a huge moment in a game. That's who you would side with after a what you assume is like a wash Toronto at this point Iskra. Yes well. I think the pecking order is probably Caruso wouldn't even be starting though like if. You're talking about like late third quarter minutes. I mean. I, I probably wouldn't have either of them on the court winter talking book on the end of the fourth quarter. But Yeah I'd probably pick out. Play more defense out there. Who are the Lakers five? Let's say in a crunch time. Well, we've seen Lebron ad and then Danny Green is definitely out there, and it's probably contagious caldwell-pope at that other guard spot because he's probably playing defense better than anybody or talks to her so and then. It depends on who who's the big guy if you want out there or if you're going with Dwight yeah, I mean that's an again. If they need a basket, then I don't think Rondos on the court. Because Lebron sort of can just take over the point guard, and he needs accused or a Caruso or whoever's out there because he knows it impossible to. To him and I can shoot and that's one thing. I've never been able to address in his career the fact that he can be a spot up shooter because he can't shoot. Any weren't shoot and again. That's why he gets all these. Gordon numbers of assists because he often passes up a shot that he should take to try to get an assist. Enough that. It's. Never GonNA convince them. Listen I. I will admit in that series against the blazes. He was excellent. Question defensively is great, and he has had his moments undeniably. But I also think he. He gets a pass so many times for like when he's like. You got to shoot that man. You're open the shooter and he won't drive in, and he'll try to get the easy cheap assist to somebody else, because and sometimes at work, but he also has an enormous amount of turnovers and bad plays and bad passing that situation for over passing. The Lakers have enough to that depth, and he was good on those Pelicans teams because drew holiday could come off the ball a little bit, and not have to bring it up every time and play defense. Play his ass off on defense to stop Damian Lillard and CJ mccollum. They did a great job for four games. It was kind of an anomaly was just a terrible matchup. Then Rondo in that that second round. It was too much. Rondo and the shooting stopped. The the good shooting stop the the actual attempts were still there, and and then things sort of fell apart it's..

"And and we got the dogs in and I had Steve crystalline the when the news came about the the situation in Florida. And Chris was in every winter that you if you wanted to talk to Steve Chris all you had to do was go to Hollywood. To the dog track every night there. He was before we get off it. And this is a conversation that Rick, and I had on the way over here is is that it's a good lesson to be learned by watching what happened to the dog racing because we know that those dogs. Yes. Steve Krista they've mistreated. No, they're treated like kings most of here, and there there's a bad apple mistreats their dog like there's some bad apple that mistreats horse. And and for for, you know, the forces that wanted to to spin that so well that it no longer exists is something that people in horse racing. Should should remember and keep in mind. So just careful and they're the dog the animal, right? People were were financially. Well, armed that. I mean, they they had a huge financial advantage. And they just hammered away up in Boston. I mean that was Taunton and wonderland and so forth, and it became a financial wherewithal issue. Here. It's a the coupling question. And some of that figures in there are operators that would that would like to continue. And then there's some that are are not upset that they're not gonna continue. So it's a it's an interesting discussion. But what it's going to do. It is basically is going to shrink the situation the shrink the industry down on the greyhound front that that who who's going to be in business to breed, and there's not there's not gonna be enough of a how many how many tracks will be left. I think seven or eight five I think it is five is at the number. Southlands and so forth. Yeah. It's a tough topic. All right. Well, let me let me thank you for making the effort to get to the studio that so cool hammer. Now when knows not now, you know, how the sausage is made Rick. Absolutely. I knew. But essentially the new date that that's part one. What you mentioned they'll be racing Kentucky Derby day. We're starting to little later this year. Secondly, they have built in new winner circle. Oaklawn doesn't have a on had a winner's enclosure the pictures were taken on the track as as you know. And then if you had stakes win there's an infield enclosure to go into..

"Everything just kept rich here. Wwl. All right. We're awaiting the press conference with governor John Rhonda Santa's where he will be announcing the suspension of Broward sheriff, Scott Israel. And then I think after that then not mistaken Israel will be making a statement as well. And then I think there may be some QNA, but it's supposed to start at four thirty. I guess the Santa's was having some issues today in terms of getting over there. So there may be some travel issues or something like that apparently some kind of mechanical issues caused his flight to divert to Saint Pete. All right. Well, whenever whenever it. We get ready. We'll we'll just break into whatever doing. So I'll just show busy stuff here. Something that we're not going to get into a heavy conversation about a couple of different things. There's the fiftieth anniversary is what's of Woodstock is this year, by the way. Fiftieth anniversary. Wow, thanks for that reality. How about that? Yeah. Fifty years. And so by the way, they did like a Woodstock ninety nine which was like thirty year one which is not good at very good. But apparently they're going to be pulling out all the stops on this one. What's that co creator? Michael Lang confirmed that the three day anniversary festival is coming to Watkins Glen New York on August sixteenth seventeenth and eighteenth. That's those are the original days the weekend that had happened back in the nineteen sixty nine ninety nine August fifteenth. They're only expecting I think like one hundred thousand people it turned out to be what close to a million people that are shut down the New York throughway and supposedly have more than forty acts booked for this no performance announced until the tickets go on sale next month. But says it's going to be an eclectic Bill. They'll be hip hop. Rocks. And pop. Some legacy bands. I guess they to see if they could drag out some of the really original bands left there. I think the only people left are the members of Crosby Stills Nash and young and well, not the original. But other and Peter and Roger, hey, Roger. Yeah. He doesn't want to do it by the way, I'll get to that in a second Santana Santana. That's right. And that is it. Well, let's fly in the family stone slice been gone for a while. Now, he's alive. He is technically. Technically, nobody told him. Nobody told them. The last time I saw him. It was he was living in a camper. He's living in some sort of like RV outside of somebody's house in California. I mean, that's it hasn't been good for him. This is a guy who this sly stone is a guy pretty much was the pioneer. Benny sorta funk you here today or have heard for the last several years. He's got kinda kicked it all off. There's is living in an RV and not even a good one. Like an old nineteen like, maybe five RV, many Winnie. Yeah. Yeah. He there are those who will say his performance was the highlight of the film. Hell, yeah. I mean, I family stone. You kidding me? And saying that given the who performance and given the Hendrix performance. Yeah. But you know, there was no one there when Hendrix performed because it was six o'clock in the morning. Let's put this guy on a plays guitar backwards. There may be people get into it. I know he's getting a little hot in England. Yeah. Well, we'll we'll see. We'll see what he can do. Yeah. I've been like I said the majority of those bands are dead. They're not around anymore. But so they're going to bring it like collected crew of people should be interesting. How many people are going to get out? Because you remember when it happened when Woodstock tap when Woodstock happened in nineteen sixty nine it was pretty much the culmination of everything that happened within that. That that nine year period know for the time Kennedy was elected in nineteen sixty nine hundred sixty nine you know, how much stuff in terms of that decade? I mean, we had assassination we had three assassinations. Actually, you know, we had Vietnam. Rights civil rights movement. We had the the free love. Haight Ashbury free love Europe summer of love can state all of that happened in like a nine year span. And it was it was almost like Woodstock was the the finale of it kind of ended it, and then then you had the man man landing on the moon. If you believe that actually happened. But think about how much stuff happened mean? Everything was like thirty years of stuff happened in nine years. I've said it was the most amazing decade. I think we'll we'll ever see ever many times. Yeah. And just when you think of everything well like one of the things, I've always found interesting is one of the big music trends in the late fifties. And even the early sixties was due ops. And to think that we went from street corner harmonies with no musicians to what Hendrix was doing. Yeah. In seven years crazy. I mean, I don't think there's ever, and that was just that was just music that wasn't fashion or cars or auto racing or I mean never auto racing. This huge in the sixties. Indianapolis, Andy shirt. And now, you know that whole thing. There were so many political social changes in that particular decade that that shaped our lives where we are today. It was just unbelievable. So I don't know if it's going to have the same feel as it had back then 'cause back then it was almost like, hey, listen to have this major party. Just kind of celebrate that this thing's over this decade. You know, we've gone from kids like nine year old kids now were nineteen or we know we're still in college, and it's free love, and it's hippies in its Vietnam. And it's we'd probably do it up in Oregon for crying out loud. They got the weed. Ship it over to New York. They could just make the stage outer we'd play on that story that they were supposed to have a year later, they were should have another concert, and it was supposed to be in mountain Dale where where my my grandparents lived where my dad grew up my dad's parents had he'll grow up on a farm there in that area. They were supposed to have a similar show was called the mound. Dale arts and music festival. Supposed to happen a year right after Woodstock, and they had all these acts lined up. They're going to do the same thing. They were expecting a half a million people and the day before the thing was to happen. The I guess the officials they're decide to pull the plug on it. It was the they call it the rock concert. They never happened. But it was supposed to happen up there. And if I'm not mistaken, I thought I heard a story somewhere along the lines family story that that they were going to try to use or or they had actually asked somebody like. My grandmother or whatever if if they could actually use part of that land to be, you know, for the it was right down the block from where my my dad was raised. So speaking of we just talked about the who Roger Dalton has no interest in this. There's no interest in even if they asked him he says, we're not interested in what in Woodstock going back doing the fiftieth anniversary. He said, you know, even though they're planning, and he says you can't do what stock because the stars were of Woodstock where the audience how did the people that may actually go the regional Woodstock yet? Sixty seven year old sixty eight year old people, right? Seventeen eighteen nineteen. You're you're like sixty you're in your late sixties, and you the people that would actually go to this one. They're still sport the same look. You know, what I'm talking about it that they still have the ponytail, but there's nothing on top. And then you got like, hey, here's same up. My same old lady with back at fifty years ago. And she's still got the log frizzy white hair deal going in the same VW van. Yeah. Right. Right. Right. Magic bus. People like that there because I see what happened with woods when Woodstock happened. It wasn't just the concert. Well, it was the concert, and then a lot of the hippies that were there they decided to make upstate New York. Their home products. They were two stones remember where they came from where they parked parked. Let's just let's just pitch a tent here. We'll make it happen. It was almost like the gold rush. Yeah. It's like a new settlement. They just ended up Bethel became forever. A hippie town Bethel new pulse. A lot of those areas. They just like, you know, what I like I I knew that. I know that we really live in Columbia, South Carolina. But I'm too eft up to go back. We'll never make it. Let's just let's just let's just hanging here. And they were there for later raised their families there because they were never up to that point people weren't that wasn't a highly populated area. Upstate New York. New paltz Bethel. You know, why they picked it? Yeah. This'll be kind of kind of cool. And then they they actually made a home for themselves. All right. So. Jerry Seinfeld hates Jimmy Kimmel's guts. According to the story here. I don't know why I don't know what happened between these two seinfeld's not exactly the the nicest guy in the world, by the way. I bet him. And he's just this is actually before it became a super rich guy before he was famous, and he wasn't really polite. Yes. Kinda dickey. Anyway. The most famous comedian probably the last twenty five years and the richest the richest, but nobody knows it says here, according to our life. Nobody knows where the bad blood comes from. But Jerry Seinfeld hates Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy.

"You know, they they have their players back. So last night Ingram run over back. So they had a full team. Yeah ones. Oh ball got the start west. I for the Lakers. You wanna hear a stat line? Sure. He played twenty four minutes starting really not coming off the bench to a six one assist. One rebound four points. One rebound. One assist for Lonzo. Ball. John Rhonda thirteen points, six rebounds, eight assists in thirty two minutes. So what do you make of that? That's disappointing numbers. Bron James twenty nine ten and seven. So he led the Lakers in points in rebounds. And was second on the team in assist behind Rondo. He seems like he's doing it. All here. Brandon Ingram twenty four or five and two coups. Also started nineteen six and three. It's just been a rough go for the Lakers, they shot thirty three thirty six percent from three last night. It just seems top to bottom this Tina struggling. What concerns me is that there? I get it like it'll take time for their offense to come in. But. Remember, they built this team to be a defensive minded team. But they gave up one hundred and twenty four points last night. So that's not very defensive-minded is it. No. So Jimmy Butler, again, just bawling out thirty to six and four four or five of his threes. Four of from three in the fourth quarter to go six for seven on the game. So. A really nice game for. We're crony towns twenty five sixteen and six that's a game that we can expect from towns after having some terrible performances. But anyways, the nuggets they beat the pills. One sixteen to one eleven nuggets are five and one pelicans are foreign to. We saw the Sacramento Kings head out east. I really put a smackdown Vimy they've won three straight one twenty three to one thirteen. And it really wasn't that close in the second half the kings scored forty three points in third quarter to pull away in that game. But yeah, just the team is running up and down Spoelstra said after the game that the kings pretty much tired them out that they like to run, but they don't like to go at that pace the kings played incredibly high pace. So so the different Sacramento Kings this year, they're playing incredibly fast. They had three players score over twenty points. Deletes ahead nineteen so. Interesting game looks like deer and FOX might have taken that next step in his progression. Possibly we look at the blazers as they beat the Pacers one or three ninety three. Big second half for Cleveland. That's a nice win on the road against a decent Indiana team. Blazers dead seven guys double figures. Mccullum web. Let scoring.

"Everything all good now that the Lakers got win. Well, no, it's not okay. They're one in three. But the Lakers did get a W finally going into Phoenix and winning and scoring one hundred thirty one points. And yeah, maybe everything's a little bit better. But the reason they say they want is because Luke Walton got really mad earlier in the day. And he hasn't even seen the worst of lint. Stevenson yet. We're talking three games in and Luke Walton is already this upset, but did this win do anything. No. It was against the Phoenix Suns. It was with a career performance from javale McGee. You have an efficient performance from land Stevenson. But again to remind you it was at Phoenix. This schedule is not going to be this easy for the Lakers. All the way around in fact, coming up they've got three games that could find them at one in six and then everybody will really be freaking out. Hey, lukewarm had every reason to be upset Las Vegas early saying he's going to be the first coach, it's fired. We know that he came out after the loss to Houston was complaining about the. -ficiating got fined for it. You know, I got fined he wanted to show the Bron James, and he has his back that was the best fifteen thousand dollars at Luke qualm has ever lost the NBA they needed to win because we know tonight. They get Denver Denver is rested undefeated and looking more and more like a playoff team. The lakers. I got a little bit work. I will say this. It's becoming very obvious that John. Rhonda's is going to be very important to this team not only because of his defense, and what he brings as leadership, but just for depth on this team and somebody who knows what it means to win because LeBron can't be the only guy, and they got an okay last night, buddy. Because Devon Booker. You know, he had to leave the third quarter with only twenty points down third quarter four eating from Moga for these Lakers that guy so he could probably do that on the Lakers to right with that defense. Lakers only won by five. If Devon Booker stated. Good Steph curry actually better than ever short answer. Absolutely. And here if you look at the arc of his career from twenty twelve on basically when he got his ankle problems fixed. If you look at his stats at three point attempts. Go up every year, they go up dramatically from the first MVP year to the second where he shot eleven plus three's a game. That was the that was supposed to continue. He was supposed to be a guy that put up as many shots as possible from distance because he's that good at it. Well, then they had the one year when he got hurt and they brought K D that one year that he's going to let Kevin Durant get acclimated to the team not really going to everything that he can't do last year was supposed to be the year where Steph got back on track where he became MVP Steph again, just the ankle injuries reappeared and he couldn't overcome back. This is the year. If you look at his numbers, he's going to shoot eleven twelve three pointers a game. And if he's going to do it at anywhere near the efficiency that he's at now who's affected field goal percentage. Seventy percent. Yes. He can put up these numbers pretty much the entire year and win another MVP doesn't seem like Kevin Durant really wants regular season. MVP not gonna do enough to take it away from Steph. Steph Curry's already averaging thirty four points shooting. Fifty five percent from the field. Fifty two percent on threes. It's almost like he's telling everyone. Yes, we know all about Coa Leonard and Anthony Davis. They're great players on a two-time N VP who missed a lot of time. You only play fifty one games last year. And he needs something to motivate them to get him through the regular season and into the playoffs indicia member this everyone if he wins the title that gives them the most championships out of anybody ever born in Akron, current king background you get a tattoo across his chest. I will say this all makes all the sense in the world..

"And welcome back everyone. The GMC sports podcast, we just finished talking about that sheen high football match between the colonel's in Broncos in the rant of the day by Mark Sousa. And we also talked about the annals McCoy. We also talked about the between the brewers dodgers happening tonight as well as Red Sox advancing to the World Series after their game, five victory over the Houston Astros. Now we're moving onto basketball as the Brown James, his first Raillard season game as lake, your, they face the Portland trailblazers, any losing effort. One twenty eight one nineteen and LeBron yes, he did have twenty six points, but the rest, but facing a pretty good team in the Portland trailblazers that wasn't enough. No, it wasn't. And I think that if you were skeptical about the Lakers coming into the season with the roster that they have a symbol d- what the new faces. I think if you're a skeptical before, I think this game would definitely definitely not quell those thoughts because. They did not shoot the three ball. People will say, well, they're trying to different style to overtake the warriors and the best teams in the league. They're going against the grain a little bit. They don't really care to play. With a lot of three pointers and things like that. But the fact of the matter is is that you can't get out rebounded and you can't get. You can't lose that badly in the three point battle and think that you're gonna win on most nights. It's just, I don't think it's it's feasible. So if you're worried about the Lakers and how they would do against the top Western Conference teams last night would make you just as worried heading on moving forward. The Brown led his team in points and rebounds twenty six points twelve rebounds. He only lead them an assistant Rajon Rondo is on the team and he had eleven assists and looking at all all the players it kind of was I, it's, I would say it's frustrating for LeBron when he is quite possibly their only weapon they have, they can utilize very well. Let's just say that last night for Lakers fans. I would hope that it was a weird game. And that's not indicative to how the seasons go. And I don't just mean the box score, but like if we're John Rondos gonna play thirty two minutes and ones, oh balls when they get nineteen minutes. I think that's a problem. In my opinion, I don't think Rondos terrible basketball player. And he puts a plink he put, he puts up a lot of empty numbers like he, he's a guy who his his stats get padded a lot, especially as rebounding numbers. But this is still and he well, sometimes sometimes. But regardless, he's not agree. NBA point guard. He's a decent NBA point guard, but ones, oh ball. They picked him at the number two, pick whatever you feel about him. He had a decent rookie season and I don't think that this is a good idea moving forward to have him playing well behind John Rhonda and you can't play them both at the same time because they both are too similar that can't shoot from the outside. They're both playmakers. They need the ball in their hands so they can set up teammates. But it's hard to have two point guards out there the same time. If one, if neither of them can shoot the ball, so you're not gonna see them on the court together a lot. You're not gonna see them on the court together with LeBron James a lot. But man, I just feel like ones of ball's gonna play. More, what do you think? I do think so as well. But I think I want to ask you important. Well, I'll continue with the Lonzo ball thing. He was the number two pick. He had a decent rookie season. Do you start? Do you not? Well, you gave nineteen. I don't even care if you start them or not, but like he needs to play, I think, much as much as Rondo at least as much as Rondo maybe maybe have Rondo play the nineteen minutes and have. Yeah. I mean the thirty. There's nothing wrong with being the leader from the second unit. You know, being that six man being the second point guard coming in and really taking control the, I don't know, man if Rhonda's going to be playing thirty two minutes and night, Alonzo ball, get nineteen..

"What's that? From the Saarlouis game. Charles Dallas dodger. Was a used to play Madonna, Madonna, remember. Yeah. Zubov circuit. He's a demand, bring up that puck. Man. Being good like are like, you're like no doubt, it's a playoff team? Yeah, they have to be exciting to see or interested. I guess it's better to see like they were solid defensively last year, but this is a completely different team now, and LeBron is, I mean, as we saw last year with the didn't play defense at all. He said he's going to be the Ed Reed to rejoin Rondos Ray less. Our perhaps Brooks to his Warren staff on the second one. These are a nice references, maybe retired. A regular season. Rondo is not afraid because he doesn't play d. yeah, I know that's what I'm saying. Like this was a good defensive team. Which Luke Walton got them to play defense. They were solid on that end of the floor despite not winning twenty games can they still be there? But I think LeBron looks around and sees a lot of youth around him. So he says, Brandon Ingram, you're a big long guy. You can play d- you can make out for John Rhonda. CPI, but even Casey, PISA, worry gets paid like a madman because he's a clutch. He's a clutch sports, dude, but already they've taken them off the floor because he can't do a lot. Yeah, I just think too. They want to get up and down. Run, run, run. Maybe a little Showtime here, put up a bunch of points, but to do that, you do get stops and you got to rebound the ball and then go, you're gonna be at the place on defense. I'm curious to see, I I think they're going to be in the playoffs to. I don't think they're going to be a top four team in the in the west. I just think there's too many good teams. I just don't see. I mean, like this Spurs there's my prediction. Oh yeah. Four in the less top three. Wow. I don't get how people are taking them out of the postseason that's nuts. They had forty seven wins last year without Kawhi Leonard. Fifty wins. We'll get you the three seat. Possible and they not get fifty. Fifty would've gotten got the three last year with D'amoto derozan subbing in for quite letter plus just that cloud dissipating over that entire franchise. Why not? Why can't they get fifty? Two fifty, three fifty, four wins. I know the jazz should be there and jazz should grow and they're a scary, scary team, but I don't know. The Spurs won't die. I don't think Gregg Popovich and one of his his first years, you know, without Manu and and Tony Parker will allow that to happen. I'm interested to say Dijon Ty Murray this year. A lot of people sort of talking about him for most improved law. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he was on. I just worrying about the shooting ton of zero three. Where's that? Spicy. Meatball. Is that a drop. Looking at it. Doing work after minute. Twenty tunes. True. More like minute. All right. So you still believe in. Twenty years running. How can we? How can we just twenty one years running in the playoffs, right. Yeah. Going for. I mean, okay, people are just not excited about the Spurs. And this to me is the Spurs team that everybody was like, oh, this is the news, no one cared like two thousand seventy. You're going to take a ton of twos. You're going to dribble a ton. People don't really like watching lamarcus Aldridge. I don't think people a ton of times like watching DeRosa and people get frustrated with them as well. So it's easy to get see this human be like they look boring again, me out of here. I'm not putting them up on my league, pass ranking no way, but they're going to get wins. They're gonna get wins. Yeah, because they're going to work hard and they've got a bench. Again, they always do. I don't know who's on their bench what they've got thirty in Las Kyle Burton, baton, baton Dylan, Elliott become enough. The bash Lani Lani Walker. Yeah, I'm not convinced we're not convinced us guys wouldn't be called the game in summer league. They're also be out there. Jaren blossom game..

"Right so now that now that the lakers have signed lebron and brought in rondo what do you think the over under is on mr ball leaving before the old man gets on lebron's nerve there's potential for that but i'm not sure it's going to happen so i'm not going to sit here and say that balls getting traded i ain't that ray john rhonda will press him for the starting gag because i gotta tell you i mean i think they're both really good players jeff good moments just said he's not a fan of rondos a lot of people don't like rondo his whole act attitude wherever you want to call it but i never saw anthony davis or bogey cousins saying anything bad about him they loved him i know that his time in boston i think you know when he was on that team and winning right that's where he won is rang i think that he they loved him and i think that right when he laughed unless i'm mistaken it's when all the you know bad stuff started coming out and backstabbing and everything else right so when when it ended when that run ended for him in boston that was when is rap started souring right and people started saying bad things about him but look i have said a million times i've watched this guy play i love his game he's incredible now i'll give you i i respect geoff allott and i'm a huge fan of his but i gotta tell you anyone that will sit there and try to tell me to raise on rondo campbell is tripping did you hear him say with all that no look stuff are you kidding me what's bad with no look passes is there anything better than a no look pass i mean honestly it's okay when lebron james is throwing nola passes he's the greatest passer on earth right but when ray john rondo as a triple double and has to do you remember these ninety s seventeen twenty five assists have you ever seen him do it you guys have freak so i've seen them triple doubles left and right have a triple double live in person so i think he's gonna be better in my opinion then lonzo ball playing with lebron james that's my opinion i think you'll get that guy will get the ball to lonzo ball or i think you can pass through like nobody's business but i think rhonda will get the ball to lebron coups ma and anger on that whoever they want scoring we'll get the ball more from rondos hand i think but i think lonzo is a great passer i mean well as the ten seven and seventy seven times a game before he hurt his name so look i'm a rondo fan so people don't like that that's fine with me but i think he's got to fit like a glove on that team i also liked the most people think i'm crazy but i don't think javale mcgee and land stephen center bad signings either look land stevenson might be the biggest tool in the nba but nobody ever says anything about how hardy place you ever seen that guy like for the pacers given it mean that guy jump through a literally a wall renton fire for you have you ever seen him like blake lebron he gets so crazy defending him he's like obsessed so i actually had no problem with his game i think what his problem is ben is he's been around you know in my view a bunch of losers and that's kind of brought him down and made him miserable right so he's played in all these average teams and he's had to do a lot and it has never worked out for him he's never come closer sniffed any kind of excellence now he's gonna play with excellence and i think it will make him a better player i also think mcgee's got a couple of rings because he knows how to do the dirty work down low block shots get rebounds he knows how to run to the guy can play transition you know up and down basketball you can say whatever you want about mcgee the bottom line is he's got rings and everyone else say he didn't do anything on those teams it's just not true he was a big part of those teams although in the finals they never played them so.

"The highest career player efficiency rating oh and this name may bring a bell michael jordan yet the only other player nba history with a career average of at least thirty points per game in the playoffs davis's career playoff scoring average thirty two point three the second player to keep an eye out for the pelicans in this series rajon rondo davis rules tobacco toronto pump fake cries whatever turn to the ramp suck possible three point play john rhonda there is a reason they call them playoff rondo the say that he steps his game up come mid april every year would be an understatement rondos career points per game of the playoffs is better than his career regular season scoring average and it doesn't just there he averages more assists grabs more rebounds more steals more blocks per game in the postseason then he does during the regular season so just how rare is this according to espn stats and information over the last twenty seasons there are over a hundred and fifty players that have played at least fifteen hundred minutes in the playoffs and rajon rondo is the only one of them that could make the claim that they have better averages in the playoffs then they do in the regular season and the final player to keep an eye on for the new orleans pelicans through holiday colleges lead by two holly yet to move now starts walking towards that college steps into a three got it drew holiday voice.
