Emails threatening Florida, Pennsylvania voters to "vote for Trump or else!" linked to overseas servers

"Voters in at least four battleground states, including Florida and Pennsylvania, received threatening emails falsely purporting to be from the far right group Proud boys that warned quote, We will come after you and quote if the recipients didn't vote for President Donald Trump. The voter intimidation operation apparently used email addresses obtained from state voter registration lists, which include party affiliation and can include email addresses. Those addresses where then used that and apparently widespread targeted spamming operation. The sender's claimed they would know which candidate the recipient was voting for in the November 3rd election, for which early voting is already going on. Federal officials have long warned about the possibility of this type of operation. Such registration lists are not difficult to obtain. Last night after reports of the emails first surfaced, Christopher Cribs the top election security officials at the Department of Homeland Security tweeted that the emails are meant to intimidate and undermine American voters confidence in the elections. He urged voters not to fall for sensational and unverifiable claims, reminding them that ballot secrecy is guaranteed by law. In all, state security researcher John Scott Railton, who examined dozens of the emails said they were sent by a group its identity unknown that put considerable time and effort. Into identifying vulnerable Internet servers in several countries, including Estonia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which they hijacked to send the e mails Associated Press obtained one of the e mails sent from a business address in Estonia. From a Florida voter voters in Arizona and Alaska also received them. And then late this afternoon, U. S officials said Iran's responsible for emails meant to intimidate American voters and So unrest in multiple states. Thie officials were calling out both Tehran and Russia for activities meant to interfere in the upcoming presidential election. The announcement of a rare news conference underscored concern within the U. S government about efforts by foreign countries to spread false information meant to suppress voter turnout and undermine American confidence in the vote. John Ratcliffe, the government's top intelligence official, who along with FBI director Chris Ray Held. The press conference insisted that the US would impose costs on any foreign countries that interfere in the 2020. U. S election.

Top intelligence office informs congressional committees it'll no longer brief in-person on election security

"Trump's intelligence chief on Sunday defended his decision to cease in person congressional briefings on election security. While Democrats said, the move would suppress critical information about foreign election meddling and warned they may subpoena testimony. John Ratcliffe the president's new director of National Intelligence, and to close trump ally accused US lawmakers of leaking classified information from July thirty first briefing to promote what he called false narratives that somehow Russia is a greater national security threat than China. Ratcliffe is a former lawmaker who ended trump during the congressional probes into Russian efforts to influence the two thousand sixteen election. Democratic lawmakers accused Ratcliffe of trying to block them from questioning intelligence officials in a bid to conceal information on how Russia has been interfering in the twenty twenty presidential election to help trump as it did in two thousand sixteen, the intelligence community has warned that Russia is trying to denigrate trump's twenty twenty democratic opponents, Joe Biden, and the Iran and China also trying to so disinformation Democratic senator. Amy Klobuchar. A former presidential candidate said Ratcliffe cliffs decision was an outrage at a time when multiple foreign governments trying to break into the November election and that it was crazy that the house may be forced to subpoena him. Fresh update on "john ratcliffe" discussed on The Ben Shapiro Show

"The US government concluded last night that Iran has been attempting to manipulate the elections John Ratcliffe the director of National Intelligence he announced yesterday that this was happening. So did apparently Christopher ray of the FBI the FBI warned that there is an attempt to manipulate the elections. Here was the director of National Intelligence John. Ratcliffe explaining that Iran is attempting to interfere on behalf of Joe Biden. We have already seen Iran sending spoofed emails. Designed to intimidate voters. Incite social unrest and damage president trump. Additionally, Iran is distributing content to include a video that implies that individuals could cast fraudulent ballots even from overseas. This video in any claims. About such allegedly fraud fraudulent ballots are not true. So, there's an attempt to undermine credibility of the election and it is coming in fact from yes Russia but also Iran Iran one particular aspect of the story is that Iran is behind an email operation that was directed at intimidating voters that they were masquerading as the proud boys and sending emails to various Democrats and threatening them according to the Washington Post, the disclosure by the Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, a hastily called news conference marked the first time. This election cycle of foreign adversary has been accused of targeting specific voters in a bid to undermine democratic conference. Just four years after Russian online operations marred the two thousand, sixteen presidential vote now, of course. Operations in two, thousand, sixteen, there's not a lot of proof that it shifted anybody all they're supposed misdirection on places like facebook it amounted to a tiny drop in the enormous ocean of social media content. However, this is a little more serious the Clinton Ron was behind an email operation which came into view on Tuesday as Democrats in several states reported receiving emails demanding they vote for president trump was leveled without specific evidence other us. Officials speaking privately stressed at Russia's still remained the major threat to the twenty twenty election up or you can always find somebody in the intelligence community to talk about Russia. Russia. Russia because trump of course is so bad however. It was the director of national, intelligence John. Ratcliffe, suggesting in fact that what was happening here is that the Iranians masquerading as the proud boys had been attempting to email people and gin up election interference on behalf of Joe Biden. Right. So it wasn't meant to intimidate the Democrats so much as it was meant to promote the idea that a proud boys were acting on behalf of Donald Trump and therefore attempting to suppress the vote. On Thursday around some in the Swiss on boy in Tehran, which handles US affairs there to condemn the quote unquote baseless accusations of meddling in the US election. According to Aglietta Mill. Yussef these accusations are nothing more than another scenario undermine voter confidence and are absurd around has no interest in interfering in the US election and no preference for the outcome. Okay. That is obviously untrue. Iran would certainly prefer Joe Biden Donald Trump has killed the Iran deal Donald. Trump has facilitated the rise of in Israeli Arab alliance in the region. Donald Trump has cut off the Iranian regime at the knees and Joe Biden. Pledges to prop them up again. So obviously, the Iranians prefer the Biden campaign and they've made this perfectly obvious I mean this is this is not a secret in any way shape or form the emails claim to be from a pro-trump group called the proud boys but evidence had mounted. They were in fact, the work of another hidden actor US official said, that was Ron, a nation that has increasingly clashed with the president in recent years Oh. Around was totally fine until trump was elected. Then around clash for the president according to The Washington Post not they murdered a bunch of. American soldiers in Iraq not that Iran has been a threat to American national security since nineteen, seventy nine now it's really just trump. Officials did stress the integrity of the election was intact Former FBI FBI, director Christopher Ray was standing next Iraq lives said, we're not going to tolerate foreign interference or any criminal activity that threatens the sanctity of your vote undermine public confidence in the outcome of the election. Radcliffe accused Iran of using the data to send spoofed emails designed to intimidate voters inside social unrest and damage president trump naturally senate minority leader Chuck Schumer immediately told NBC's Rachel Maddow from the briefing. I had the strong impression was much rather to undermine confidence in election and not aimed at any particular figure. Oh, wasn't about helping wasn't about helping Biden as it turns out it was just about undermining election. Conference generally oh so that that's what's happening here. What exactly were these emails? Well, the emails were apparently engineered by someone working at the behest of the Iranian government according to a US official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the matter sensitivity, the operation appeared to exploit a vulnerability in the proud boys online network. The message has advised that the group was in possession of all your information. And instructed voters to change their party registration and cast their ballots for trump you will vote for trump on election day or we will come after he warned the emails which Tuesday night were said to have reach voters in as many as four states three of them contested swing states. US, officials said the operation was not terribly sophisticated and was disclose before it could have any major impact. RACKLIFF also confirms that Iran is distributing a video implying that individuals should cast fraudulent ballots even from overseas. The video was posted on twitter account that has since been suspended. Okay so there is so the good news is that the FBI We all so no bit Iran wants Biden to be president. We know the China wants Biden to be president, which should tell you something about where we stand on foreign policy won't get any foreign policy tonight into by the way, there'd be no foreign policy will have to debates no foreign policy foreign policy by the way is the greatest point of differentiation between trump and Biden has been wrong on every foreign policy issue, his lifetime, every single one without exception it's incredible. But it is important to note here that the Iranian disinformation, the same people who are shouting Russian disinformation or promoting. Ron, just information. They were promoting the idea that the proud voices actually sent these emails, the the Lincoln Project Rose who are clear in that sweet sweet RECR- griff for cash they put out a tweet promoting Romanian disinformation actually..

Trump's pick to lead intelligence community defends background

"In his first television interview since the announcement. Texas Congressman Republican. John Ratcliffe push back against charges. He's not qualified to lead the intelligence agencies handling national security issues as far back as two thousand five but critics say you've never held a job in the intelligence community. I think what we've seen. Is that some of our most experienced. Intelligence officials have gotten the wrong with respect to important issues. I want you to respond to critics who say president trump puts loyalty ahead of experience my experience as a US attorney on national security issues as a legislator almost exclusively in these areas that was important him. Loyalty what we've talked about is my loyalty to. The constitution was a passionate defender of the president during the Russia. Probe more recently impeachment. He was among the first deflategate regularities in the surveillance of trump campaign aide. I've had a very public role and I've demonstrated that I've been right on. Some of these. Most important issues rang cliff was tap last summer for the job but it was withdrawn after allegations. He padded his resume. What's changed my reconsidered. Because the president asked me and I think when the president asks you to do something for your country you look at that just because someone in your business accuses. You doesn't make it true. The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Adam Schiff called him unqualified. Can you get through the confirmation process? Trump Taps John Ratcliffe for Director of National Intelligence

"It appears trump does plan to use a lot of ratcliffe announcing today that he will nominate Ratcliffe for Director of National Intelligence. Now ratcliffe name sounds familiar. It's because trump did this get and he did. He did this before he was nominated by trump for the same job last July and that nomination was pulled in early August because there was not enough support in the Senate among Republicans over concerns over rat cliffs credentials House Speaker. Nancy Pelosi responded to the nomination. In a statement saying quote Congressman Ratcliffe has shown an unacceptable embrace of conspiracy theories and clear disrespect and distrust of our law enforcement and Intelligence Patriots. That disqualify him from leading American intelligence community. We call upon the Senate to remember that they take an oath to protect America. Not The president and vote against this nomination joining me now. Representative Roger Christner Mortiz a Democrat from Illinois. A member of the House Permanent Select Cup Select Committee on intelligence with John. Ratcliffe UP Congressman. Good to see you again. This one's tricky side. John Ratcliffe for a second. There's a guy he's a guy who's GONNA have trouble getting confirmed there are Republicans have serious concerns and we can talk in a minute. About what the reasons for those concerns are however he's actually going to have trouble getting confirmed the president's other guy who put into place. Richard Grenell is also widely thought to be not qualified to be the director of National Intelligence. But he can only keep the job until March eleventh unless Ratcliffe doesn't get nominated anytime. Soon in which case Greg Elkins Day on the job. So there's some trickery involved here right right. It's something called the Federal Vacancies. Act And perhaps your audience already knows about it. But basically this act enables Grenell to stay for as long as the nomination is pending and then if it fails for another two hundred ten days so practically another seven months after that and then the president could nominate another person and so while we might succeed in other words. This is what the president does got a lot of acting people and he likes exactly he he does. And and Mr Grenell in particular Is is considered to be a political hack and the reason why people are so upset about Mr Grenell In part is that he is basically going to be administering a loyalty test to all the people in the intelligence community whom the president suspects as being part of the deep state and this review is going to basically happen during the pendency of this nomination of Mr Ratcliffe and maybe beyond and grave damage could be done not only to the intelligence community but our national security in the meantime right. And here's the issue and I want to remind people about the history behind the director of National Intelligence and the intelligence problems that contributed to nine eleven. Right there was. There's some thinking and I want to Monday morning quarterback but there's some thinking that if all our intelligence organizations had shared their information properly we might have been able to prevent nine eleven. The director of national television's is the person who's supposed to do that. They should be the best informed. Smartest most qualified person in this country. Correct and that does not seem to be a priority to this president. No and and this kind of takes us to pivot point right now which is Is Is the intelligence community going to be led by someone who lives in the world of truth or is it going to be someone who lives in the world of propaganda and in the world of propaganda? You Know Truth Tellers are silenced and political loyalties are rewarded. But we know what that world looks like. We don't have to look further than China and the Corona Corona virus. China is a world of propaganda silence. The critics say silence the truth tellers and now they helped spawn a global pandemic. That's going to kill a lot of people unfortunately and heard a lot of hurt a lot of Americans too so this is why this is a consequence of lying. A little under the radar. But I think this is a a remarkable importance. I'm glad you join me tonight. To talk about a congressman Roger Crystal Mosey. Thank you as always

"President trump nominated Texas Republican congressman John Ratcliffe as the next director of national intelligence this is not the first time Radcliffe's name has been associated with the job in July the president announced Radcliffe for the job but then he pulled the nomination over accusations Radcliffe embellished parts of his resume well joining us live to talk more about a WTOP national security correspondent JJ green J. J. for a lot of folks might need their memories refreshed who is John Radcliffe yeah he just said that he's a congressman from Texas from the Eastern District of Texas stand down he was the nominee for this position last July from the president but that nomination had to be pulled because of some embellishment as you said Hillary of his resume and one of the interesting developments here is that this is the second time around and a part of the problem the first time around was there was bipartisan concern about him padding his resume and so him being back in this situation again begs the question what's going to be different what is the change he was very vocal very vocal proponent in the president's corner during the impeachment hearings so there are many who were wondering whether or not he's going to be essentially a person who makes changes there based on what it is the president wants as opposed to what the intelligence community wants if he gets the job of course there was also some bipartisan concern last time over what people thought might be his lack of qualifications so what are his go ations regarding national extra security experience well he does have national security experience because in two thousand four he was appointed by president George W. bush he was the chief of anti terrorism and national security for that Eastern District of Texas and he was later U. S. attorney there so there is some intelligence experience some national security experience the question some might have is is it the right kind for the office of the director of the national director of national intelligence considering what their mandate is and how big that operation is yeah we we talked about the the resume problems last time around we do you have any insight on you know what's what's all this items word that that might have been to the disqualifier last time around my memory is fuzzy on that but there was some then and there were some questions about what exactly he did and what exactly took place so this is sure to come up again and all of our memories will be refreshed because being the nominee he's going to have to go through this nomination process again and is probably going to be done in a very public way considering where we are with the D. We won't keep you long. We know you're anxious. Start the weekend but these tariffs. You're going to be hearing a lot more about tariffs as the next round of them approaches at the end of this month. We've all heard commercials for various companies who say they pass along the savings to the consumer. Will tariffs are the opposite visit of that companies pass along the cost of tariffs and this theme played out on Fox News today. We're going to pick up this clip with the president's residents comments prior to departure from the South Lawn where he mixed China and American farmers and tariffs all into one word salad what followed by Neil Cavuto Fox who apparently had enough of this talk any amount that China's sucks out. We're making up pat the billions of dollars that will take it in remember. This country is take it in billions and billions of dollars from China we never took in ten percents from China and out of that many billions of dollars we're taking a part of it and giving it to the farmers because they've been targeted by Jonah the farmers they come out totally totally all so you interviewed the wrong in the beginning here but just to be clarifying Air China paying these these towers you are you know it directly and sometimes directly passed along to you through distributors and their counterparts in the United States who by the stuff from the Chinese and then have to pay these surcharges. I'm not the Chinese government or China particularly didn't quite understand what he was saying about. The evaluation that is costing China be that as it may <hes> this latest round of tariffs that kick in September one on three hundred billion dollars worth of goods at ten percent that will most directly be felt by consumers directly because that that happens pins on almost entirely consumer items rather than industrial related items but just wanted to clarify that governments don't these things you do one way or or another so neil cavuto on tariffs to end an eventful week for us and bring on the first of five precious August weekends and after that of course it's basically thanksgiving. "Next the president abandoned since pick to be the country's top intelligence official after bipartisan outrage as another Republican Congress calls it quits tonight is trump's party starting to turn or not Baltimore Pastor praised by the president has a message for trump. After the president called the city rodent infested. He's out front and the president escalating trade war with China issuing a new threat as Americans consumers pay the price strikes. Let's go out and good evening. I'm Erin Burnett out front tonight. Going down in flames. President trump's nominee to lead the U._S. U._S.. Intelligence community has picked for the Director of National Intelligence is done congressman. John ratcliffe forced to withdraw felt that had congressman radcliff was treated very unfairly. He's just too good. He doesn't deserve it trump blaming the media but the truth is that Republican Republican Senators had serious concerns about Ratcliffe Qualifications G._O._P.. Leadership never came out to support his nomination G._O._P.. Members called the trump White House to express express their concerns because it wasn't qualifications that got ratcliffe the nomination it was ratcliffe impassioned defense of President Trump in the muller hearing Americans need to know this as they listen to the Democrats and Socialists on the other side of the aisle as they do dramatic readings from this report the volume two of this report was not authorized under the law to be written. It's all part of what one G._O._P.. Source Tonight calls trump's S. H.. I. Blank Show and that's a quote. According to the source Republicans are all tired of trying to defend the S. H.. I. Blank Show another part that show today trump loading at the news that Congressman Elijah Cummings home was broken into the president's tweet quote really bad news exclamation point the Baltimore House of Elijah Cummings was robbed opt to bad this just days after the president's tweet rant against Cummings where you called Cummings a racist and called the Congressman's Baltimore district a disgusting ousting rat and rodent infested mess after the President's tweet about a gloating about Elijah Cummings of the break in at least one Republican stood up trump's former ambassador to the United United Nations Nikki Haley responding quote this is so unnecessary but other Republicans have clearly had enough to the only black Republican the House of Representatives announcing. He's leaving Congress will hurt a moderate Republican who opposed the wall by the way he represented the longest stretch of border. Here's trump. I don't know congressman heard but I've heard he's done a good job. We different certain subjects trump may not know heard well but Republicans know trump heard is the eighth republican to say he's not running for re election the sixth to do so in just the past two weeks. Pamela Brown is out upfront the White House tonight and Pamela. What more are you learning about Ratcliffe and this you know president was full steam ahead and now <hes> boom? It's over boom. It's over and I've spoken to administration sources today Aaron expressing concern once again about the vetting process here at the White House or lack thereof a source familiar the process saying that president trump selection of Congressman Ratcliffe came without ample vetting and that his performance last week during the Robert Muller hearing sealed the deal for him one source telling me Aaron the White House is known for weeks that codes would be replaced and that there's no excuse for a lack of vetting force in a typical administration a thorough vetting would be done and White House officials would be designated to defend the president's pick. It's worse to say Republicans have made their concerns about rackliff known to the White House this week his lack of national security experience spirit the exaggeration of his resume brought to light and news reports and that the pick of political loyalist who was questioned the intelligence community's role in the restaurant probe could be problematic automatic. Well trump defended his pick all week and eventually became clear to him. I'm told that ratcliff would run into issues too. Many issues getting confirmed. Even though publicly the president is pinning the blame on the media as you know we'll also say and he needs the media's help to <hes> to vet but you know what's interesting here is. I'm told that the president hasn't some been concerned about rackliff lack of qualification because he wanted someone in the role who he melds with personality wise. That was something you never felt like he had with Dan Coats but tonight he's back to the drawing board Saint Hill nominate someone else perhaps as soon as Monday Aaron. Thank you very much Pamela Brown of course that was the the president blaming the media and then saying I need you guys you know. Oh you save us a lot of money. If you do the vetting for me how tonight Democratic Congressman Rogachova he's a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and I appreciate your time congressman is always so so do you applaud your Republican colleagues in the Senate <hes> because they did <hes> stop this they stood up against president trump's nomination of congressman ratcliffe deny yeah I think it it gets to the point that I think this necessity is both a reaction to what trump is doing and and to the fact that continues to send nominees not only not qualified but quite frankly already tainted coming into the process and I think it's become a political necessity for the leadership in the Senate to begin to reject push back and deny those confirmations <hes> because like it or not you know the American public is watching and watching this this trail of nominees that once they come into positions and they are approved by the Senate <hes> turn out to be merely habit handmaidens at least in resources e._p._a.. HANDMAID's for for the industry and <hes> I <hes> I think be more of a political necessity than than a real find of conscious at this point political interesting okay so that's how you see it. Let me let me just ask you though in the context of as I said you know the the the G._O._p.. Fundraiser telling US <hes> the Republicans are tired of defending what they see as the president's <hes> expletive <hes> show Nikki Nikki Haley the president's former U._N.. Ambassador today and by the way she left on great terms with the president she called him out for that tweet about a break in at Elijah Cummings home <hes> she she wrote. This is unnecessary. <hes> you know when the president said I heard homes rob too bad exclamation point. Kellyanne Conway slammed back at Haley's tweet saying this this is unnecessary. What do you make of Haley and what she did? I I'm glad she did that. I really GAM she's. She's a national profile Republican leader with with discussions about what her future will be in terms of her continuing her political life hyphen continue to to move upwards at the the fact remains that I think will hopefully hopefully enriching tip tipping point and congressman heard was was a good congressman and worked hard and tried to work across the aisle with Democrats. We've worked together on pieces of legislation that affected his district and other parts of of of Texas. The fact is I think we reached a tipping point the bigotry and racism and the attacks coming all associated with that at some point point at some point the Republicans have to understand that they are marginalizing themselves politically in this nation so let's say changes and himself to do not exist in party congressman you say tipping point. Obviously there's been eight Republicans. WHO've said they're not running for re election heard is the sixth to do so in just the past two weeks have have you discussed with any of your Republican colleagues why what their reasons are then? There's sort of private way for saying they're done it. In a very private way is that they don't feel that they're legislating anymore. They feel quite frankly that their ability to get things done to work on compromises on some level of bipartisanship has been lost and that the unpredictable the unpredictability and and the kind of rash decision making that's coming out of the administration and trump all puts them in a very vulnerable position to get their job done number one and number number two the other point is we don't know what's going to happen next and politically this is starting. This is going to be an anchor for us as we go forward and many decide that it's it's not worth it in and to twenty two run for office having to carry as an Albatross this this trump legacy from the last four years so oh you you know you you have now passed the majority marker in terms of House Democrats calling for an impeachment inquiry right so you're at one hundred and eighteen out of two hundred and thirty five. Have you got over that line it just in the past day today House Speaker Nancy Pelosi still not there. This is a big moment but but I wanna be clear <hes> congressman you would need another hundred votes in the House to actually impeach the president in the House right. I mean once you go through presenting you would need more votes to get there is speaker Pelosi going to keep stalling until you get a lot closer to that number. I mean originally. She said you know I it appeared once. I was a majority in the caucus but now she could move the goalposts. Couldn't she well I I would I would hope that that we don't move the goalposts that this has been from beginning with fourteen of us to this point one hundred and eighteen people that feel that the impeachment inquiry is necessary in the next step forward. I would suggest suggests that that number is going to continue to grow and at some point our caucus will be overwhelmingly for moving forward. I think I think Nancy that's who will respond to that hundred that not if you look at it as that that there's one hundred more votes to get to an absolute majority in the entire House of Representatives right you think you're going to start to see a lot more people quickly getting on board because plenty of those Democrats who aren't on board with an inquiry are Democrats are moderate district's right they they don't WanNa ever be forced to vote on impeachment but but do you think you're going to go from one hundred eighteen in support of an inquiry and jump quickly higher. I think I think we're going contracting quickly as a relative term but I think very I think that number's going to continue to increase on a weekly basis and Says.

You're but well I don't have to that figure. I counted about sixty times. How many times did you say New York Times? I counted no idea Ni- candidate about seventy five times. How many times did you cite Fox News? The other two annoyed about twenty five times. I've got to say it looks like volume. Two is mostly regurgitated press stories. Honestly there's almost nothing in volume to that. I couldn't already here or no or simply by having a fifty dollar cable news subscription. That's fascinating point. He's just regurgitate regurgitating news stories in his report and we paid forty million million dollars for that report to mess when again that to mess we could all listen to the news reports or on television and read them for ourselves in the New York Times and wherever else they're published. We can do that on our own. We don't need a forty million dollars investigation to do that. Meanwhile representative John Ratcliffe. WHO's a former prosecutor he he also brought some heat showed everybody watching what a disgrace the whole investigation was check this out very first line of your report? The very first line of your report says as you read this morning it authorizes special counsel missile to provide the Attorney General with a confidential report explaining the Prosecution or declaration decisions reached by the special counsel. That's the very first word of your report right correct. Here's the problem director. The special council didn't do that on volume one. You did on volume two with respect to potential of obstruction of justice. The special counsel made neither a prosecution decision or a declaration decision. You made no decision you told us this morning and in your report that you made no determination so respectfully director. You didn't follow the special counsel regulations. It clearly says right a confidential report about decisions reached nowhere in in here. Does it say right a report about decisions that weren't reached. You wrote one hundred eighty pages one hundred eighty pages about decisions that weren't reached about potential crimes that weren't charged or decided and respectfully respectfully respectfully by doing that you manage to violate every principal and the most sacred of traditions about prosecutors not offering extra prosecutorial analysis about potential crimes that aren't charged so aw Americans need to know this as they listen to the Democrats and Socialists on the other side of the aisle as they do dramatic readings from this report that volume two of this report was not authorized under the law to be written. It was written to a legal standard that does not exist at the Justice Department and it was written in violation of Every D._O._J.. Principle about extra prosecutorial commentary I agree with the chairman this morning when he said Donald Trump is not above the law he's not but he dam sure shouldn't be below the law which we're volume two of this report puts him good stuff wow that she's that is summed up nicely by Radcliffe Their Hashtag put that in your pipe yeah he really laid it down. "Attorney to look into all this. We've not had one report from him over the last six months since he's been on the job. So take all that. And then add into the fact that rod Rosenstein was a no show this week and Glenn Simpson. Simpson's taking the fifth on Tuesday. That is the thing that frustrates me. And more importantly, frustrate you in the media, and those people across this great country. Who want to know, exactly? What happened? All right. Then. Of course is Jim Jordan, speaking out about Russia gate is now beginning to get very very clear that there's a massive cover up going on rod Rosenstein now has four people that have identified him as saying that he wanted to wear a wire against the president of the United States of America in the hopes that they could somehow use that tool in bulk the twenty fifth amendment. And then of course, he decided he doesn't want to testify under oath even in a recorded session, which is what they normally do a before congress last week, and he doesn't show up all the information that has been subpoenaed now the obstruction continues, and you just heard Jim Jordan articulate with that is that means the Fiso warrants. The three o two's gang of eight information. We have Representative John Ratcliffe talking about fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson. Well, he's now saying and indicated he's gonna plead the fifth he's not saying a word anymore. He was on Fox News. Sunday, telling Maria Berta Romo that Glenn Simpson is in real legal jeopardy in all of this. He also confirmed that the FBI has evidence that directly refutes the premise of a trash Trump Russia probe. In other words, that there's Ben and remains exculpatory evidence was a great piece by Jonathan Turley, the three reasons Muller may not charge Trump with obstruction apparently is not asking any questions about it. But sticking exclusively to whether or not there was any type of collusion, which we all know the answer to you have one top Republican lawmaker now saying the FBI failed to provide a federal surveillance court with important evidence. Well, we've done that now for a long time, and we know that four or five court judges or handed information that was supposed to be verified in corroborated ended up being Hillary Clinton's bought and paid for Russian lies that was put together by fusion GPS, interestingly funneled money through Perkins. Kuria law firm the hiring. Chris Christopher Steele, a foreign national. He doesn't even stand by the information and the dossier. And it was the bulk of information to get four or five warrants against the Trump campaign associate in the lead up to the two thousand sixteen race all of this comes down to some simple, basic, fundamental things. And they never told the FIS judges that it was Hillary Clinton that paid for this information. I mean, it's unbelievable that this could be happening in this country. But it looks like we're finally beginning to get to the bottom of it. At least I hope so Jason shape. It's is with us. Former congressman now a Fox News contributor, author of the New York Times bestseller, the deep state. We have Victoria Tensing Joe digenova of of Degen tons being with us. Thank you both for being here. Let's start with Jason shape. It's because this is your wheelhouse. And it seems to me that it doesn't matter what congress requests as they seek to do their job of oversight. They're never going to get the information from the department of Justice, and they're not going to get the people. They need. Need to talk in front of them under oath? Well, the hard part about when you issue a subpoena when I was the chairman of the oversight commission. I could issue a subpoena, but the only way to enforce it is through the department of Justice. And so the weight of the paper really isn't worth much because the DOJ won't enforce it tones subpoena, the subpoena issued by congress the name that people need to also familiarize themselves with is Marc Elias. Marc Elias was council Perkins. He was counsel for the DNC. He was counsel for Hillary Clinton. He was counsel for a pedestrian group. He was involved there. This this guy sits in the middle of water, these transactions in the movement of money, and I think more and more you'll start to see his name along with the you know, or and Simpson and all these others. Well, I think the fact that Simpson is now saying Victoria, that was going to plead the fifth and can get away with that make them come in and plead the fifth the idea that they could just threaten to plead the fifth and not have to actually go through with it. I think is important. They should make him show up and in front of the TV cameras plead the fifth. It ridiculous to accept a letter from the lawyers, and I hope Jason you're talking to your former friends and telling them to get them get him in to the congress to take this. And I don't care if they're not going to enforce the subpoena because I think there are other ways to figure out how to do it. You've got a subpoena you subpoena, I need to go. She ate later. You don't say, oh, my you didn't show up, and we're talking trying to work it out. Now, we have to think about you subpoena. And then you say you can't make it one student you make it Thursday. I can't believe there's no cojones. I mean, I'm trying to understand. I mean, the president said that there would be declassification and all the materials that Jim Jordan was just talking about would be unredacted. And we'd have a chance to see the Fiso warns the gang of eight information the three o two's between Bruce sore and Christopher Steele. And how they wanted a funnel that information straight in a Robert Muller's office, Joe digenova, but you know, the idea why do I think even with you, and Victoria is my attorneys that I wouldn't get away with just saying I'm gonna plead the fifth leave me alone now or or not handing over subpoenaed materials to congress. Well, I don't think there's any question that congress has dropped the ball on enforcing it some subpoenas. But let me just say this because this is really important all the names that you heard Michael Sussman Mr. Lyons. Or all those people. They are.

"You're listening to Rush's week in review, by the way. Folks. The biggest reveal I think. The biggest news from the closed door hearing. A house intelligence committee with Bruce or? Or is admission that he still hasn't been interviewed by Robert Muller. And he has not been interviewed by John Huber. Who is the US attorney in Utah that sessions has assigned to investigate the allegations observance abuse at the FBI and the DOJ now, I can't find a single news article about it. This is a couple of days old. So there may have been an article since then. But Bruce or is number four at the FBI. You've got Komi you have Rosenstein McCabe, and then you had or and over there in another. You've got his wife Nellie. And then you have struck strokes merkin page and the rest of this cabal in there. And Muller and his team of democrat inquisitors and many of whom come from the Enron task force Emma, Ted Stevens, frog trial of bogus trial. Muller hasn't even interviewed or. Or neither is Huber. Who is was sessions appointed guy? And also, not a single democrat attended the hearing that Bruce or appeared at and answered questions. So the Democrats have no interest in getting to the literal truth of this. This is now become as, you know, it's own narrative, it's own agenda, and it has one singular purpose, and that is getting rid of Donald Trump. Now, you have a former Secretary Robert rice writing that the ultimate aim here ought to be not just impeachment because we can't do that we need to we need to know, the the Trump presidency, which means cancel every legislative back cancel every executive order and withdraw every judge every judge that Trump has appointed. And who has been confirmed would be called back. And if Robert b rice is writing this do not think that he's the only one there thinking it. And I continue to be struck. But the idea that there are still some people who think that we've got some common ground. But these people that there's some overlap where we can find something in common. Now, the hill dot com reported House Republicans say the closed door testimony of Bruce or on Tuesday has heightened their concern federal authorities abused. Surveillance powers Republicans trickling in and out of an eight hour interview with or claim that or indicated that FBI officials knew more information that they had let on in their application to obtain a warrant the spy on Carter page. John Ratcliffe Republican Texas House Judiciary committee members said thus far or has done nothing. But exacerbate my concerns that the Pfizer process has been abused? It clearly it clearly has again, I keep something about all of this. That the longer it goes on the more incredulous. I am Abbott. When you realize the depth, the planning the number of people involved in this. I'm talking about this deep state effort. Two I prevent Donald Trump from winning. And then after he wanted to basically undo the re the election and get rid of him. However can be done this plan. That has been fairly well executed until it was discovered. Details were learned is plan has to go back much farther than any of us are aware right now. These people inside the beltway. However, we want to characterize him, and I use a different bunch different terms. Deep state Washington establishment, elites whatever. They must at some point in the twenty sixteen presidential race. They must have been really scared about something. They have been very deeply troubled about something to arrange and do all this. Now, I I can imagine. There are people in the audience. No rush. You're over thinking. This people is just who they are a bunch of Stalinist totalitarians, and they're making plans to make sure they don't lose. Why don't deny that? Don't misunderstand. But they all ready fought they had the election in the bag at least, according to everything publicly that they said the and we're relying on. But they obviously didn't think that that's the point. They obviously did not think that Hillary Clinton had this election in the bag. They obviously believe that she was very flawed campaign would very problematic. Because to put this plan together and begin implementing it. Even before Trump became the nominee. As I said, it makes me wonder if this was a plan that was going to be hatched against any Republican who might have won the nomination. Or if it was only for Trump and had somebody else wanted it. They would not have even put this plan into motion. But they had to be really really scared or worried about something to do this. And then we have to ask is this. The only time anything like this has ever been done. How I doubt that. I think this is. So widespread I opening, and I think we're getting a great view inside the door as to how these people have been operating for the longest time. I firmly believe these people do not trust elections. They don't want to depend on them. They will do everything they can. To win despite the fact people have a say at the ballot box. But I'll tell you, what's I'll tell you. What's happening now? They have done such a great job of destroying so much. That I think there are the let's let's take about what most people think is their remedy or things happening in Washington. They don't like their remedy is the ballot box. The average American how many times have you been listening to this program as somebody that's called rush? What can I do besides vote? What can I do? What can I send emails call people? What can I do? Besides more. Everybody is slowly starting to realize. That prevailing at the ballot box may not even mean that much as is evidenced by what happened in two thousand sixteen. Donald Trump won at the ballot box. According to every regulation and law in the constitution, and in every state, he won the electoral college. He won the election fair and square and yet look the losers are doing everything they can to undo it. Under the basic premise that the vote of the American people doesn't really matter to these people. That it is not the final word on winners and losers in American politics. Well, the more the American public begins to think. That their votes don't count that people have always thought this. But they've they've meant it in the fact that there's so many voters, and they're only but one how can their vote possibly count. That's not what people are talking about. Now, we're talking about an effort to disqualify and roll back. The votes of sixty some odd million Americans. Americans have grown up believing. Encouraged to believe being taught that their vote is what matters that people voting. Eat elections. Are how power is determined in this country, the will of the people all of that. Well, guess what's gone out the window now? You have more and more people are beginning to fear and think that the one remedy they have to change the way things are going in the country and that is to show up at the ballot box. A polling place in vote even that now is under assault and being taken away from them. And you can't blame people for thinking that. Because that is exactly what is happening right now. There is an effort underway to under undermine and overthrow are undo. The two thousand sixteen election, and that's all all of this is. I don't care how complicated it looks. Don't care how much legalese there is in the daily cable news explanations and stories of what's going on. I don't care. What you think of the Mahler investigation. The people he's interviewing what we do know what we don't know the objective hasn't changed from the get-go from the get-go prevent Donald Trump from winning when that happened. It was to make sure Donald Trump didn't serve when that failed. Now, the effort is to undo the entire election itself. By getting rid of Donald Trump. And one thing we need to learn from this Robert b rice piece if they get rid of Trump. However, they do it. Is not going to be the end of it. They really are then going to next say. That everything Trump did needs to be disqualified. And withdrawn because dislike they're now saying he we shouldn't be having these hearings for bread cabinet on. We shouldn't be doing this until Muller's investigation is over and Trump is cleared. Donald Trump right now is so precariously balanced that we should not be doing anything that cement his legacy because he may end up being disqualified. You're impeached. But in the meantime, at the same time there isn't any evidence whatsoever. That anything they are trying to make us believe happened. Trump is as legitimate as any president has ever been his election as legitimate as any has ever been his presidency is as valid as legal as any has ever been. Something scared the hell out of these people. In the deep state something that we haven't even contemplated yet. Yeah. I know it's related to an outsider coming in and winning and Trump's pledge to drain the swamp. But this I think started even before that I don't know that we'll ever really know. What it what it is? That has these people scared their own channels, but it's it's their personal and professional fear. Is behind all of this. And so many of them so many of them are just dead. Certain that Muller already has the evidence that Trump and Russia colluded and cheated. Jimmy frightening. How brain dead, so many Americans are frightening. How stupid so many are? And I'm talking about people. Do you think? Are qualified to be leaders. Let me take a brief timeout. We will get back to the phones after the break. So hang on. Folks..
