"Almost a perfect game. And I still don't think, I mean, a real chance of winning this one. My definition, they had a real chance to win. So many things went right for them. Like how basketball works. I understand. And game one is the one to steal. Game one's the one to steal. Game two, we're getting an explosive offense out of Becky doesn't let her teams go under 70 twice. She hasn't let her team score under 70. Yeah. So definitely not twice. I said the same thing about Chicago. Did coach Becky hammon in college? So I also feel like there are some psychological Ness to it. You know, like a former player going up against, you know, your coach, so to speak, but I hear you on the trust from Becky Hammond I also think she just is less. Assertive, you know, media wise. So we hear less from her. Were you trust more? That's what I mean. We don't have as much information. Yeah, I get what you're saying. We don't have as much data to say that we shouldn't trust her. This is a series we're probably gonna say, oh, we don't trust Becky. I have a question. I feel like this series is so different. And in terms of teams playing a completely different style depending on completely different people from where they were in the regular season. Connecticut, defense was, I mean, they were scoring games in the 90s consistently for a while in the regular season. We saw Jackie young attempting 15 shots a game at one point. Now she's a fourth option. Third fourth, whatever? I just think it's going to, I don't know if Connecticut can turn back on that offensive switch because they've done it before where they've beaten teams scoring a hundred points. They beat the AC 97 90 earlier this year. In Vegas, so I guess it is doable, but you didn't have Chelsea gray playing that well earlier than the year. It is fascinating. So here's my thing. And we'll see how much of all of this I mean when we go to predictions because I feel like everyone's sick and I go one way, I'm probably going the other way. But for Vegas, right? I think they're kind of more well, I guess, two dimensional and offense because you have, you have Asia Wilson and Chelsea gray. Those are the players getting buckets right now for them on offense. Their defense is Connecticut's defense is very stout. So we don't have to worry about defense so much. So the ace is an offense can really only rely on Chelsea gray and Asia Wilson has been like that the entire playoffs. Connecticut has some more avenues to be better in. You know, they can go if Kourtney Williams, you have Courtney Williams. And don't want to bonner, who could all have better games. So we have four options here, and then we can also figure out ways to better put John quall into into positions to score. How many shots did she have to I would say she should get more 15. 7 and 15. She needs like 20. And then I think there's your avenue to getting to that 8 I think 80 points is really where they're gonna aim. If the game's in the 90s, it's going to fix. But if they can keep it down below preferably below 80 that I think they have a good shot. But I do think there's just some kinetica has something right now. In terms of having that defense so set that just relies on offensive variability. So it could come back in game two. If they are so scary. I was just going to say, they're dangerous because you really don't know what the heck is about to happen. But at the same time, I would not be surprised if they got swept. At all. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It is so. Would you be surprised if they got swept ice? Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I'd be surprised. I think they're going to pull out at least one. But all I'm saying is, all I'm saying is, if I'm Connecticut and we finish this game, I think you feel better. I think Connecticut feels better than Vegas does. I think Connecticut is like, yo, we were one possession away. We didn't turn the ball over. We rebounded well. And we only had 8 points between dewan bonner and Kourtney Williams. Players who easily on any given night can give the league 20 and 20, like 20, like each. So I think you feel better knowing that you only lost one possession. Like holding this team to their lowest point outage all season. And those things. If your Vegas, you're like, yo, holy cow. If Kelsey plum does not put the ball in the basket, and they keep defending us like this, we'll need Chelsea to score 40. And Asia to score 50. And let's have Chelsea score 40. I would love to be awesome. I'm going to be surprised that Becky is hitting Chelsea like bro listen. If I give you this look, 'cause Kelsey can't make a three anymore. Just go. Just shoot every time. In Asia, we'll get the rebound every time. Okay, hold on. Seriously, think about it. Who else should I said that in the middle of the game?

"Early favorite, but we'll see. We'll see what happens. And I think to me, that's a huge key. It's just that specific matchup right there. Yeah, I mean, I completely agree. I think playoff MVP so far is far far gap between Chelsea gray and anyone else. I know the Asia Wilson diehards will be up in arms about that. No, I completely agree. And I think hearing you say that, I can visually in my mind see Chelsea gray doing that in teams doing that to her. And I think it kind of to make it simplistic because you know how I like to make things simple. Thinking about it when you do that to her, you force her into a position where she's making mind-blowing amazing behind the back passes. But she's known for that, right? Like this playoff, we haven't been talking about Chelsea gray making amazing assists making mind-blowing passes. What we've been talking about is her lights out shooting ability and her ability to dictate the game. So I think you get a multitude of benefits by picking her up before half court because you force her into a situation where she is going to be that assist monger like that wild next level facilitator, but not the dagger offensive threat that we have seen this playoff. So the other key player for me on Connecticut is John quall Jones, no surprise there. JJ needs to be an MVP battling against Asia Wilson the two time MVP. If they don't want to be swept in this and maybe I'm jumping from square one to score 30 right now, but if they don't want to be swept in this and we saw this from Seattle, right? If you have a top of the mountain MVP caliber player who's playing that, IE, Brandon Stewart versus Wilson, I know it's slightly different. Those are the two best players in the world right now. JJ is arguably the third best when she's playing her best. I think it really, really, really comes down to, if JJ can elevator game and I've talked about this all season, I have not seen MVP caliber JJ throughout a whole game at any point this season. But can she do that for three games? Against the aces is going to be so important because if you can, we're going to talk about the physicality of what this matchup is going to be. But if you can kind of cancel out Asia Wilson with John called Jones, that puts you in a position that you want to be and as the Connecticut sun because you're going to be able to take advantage of the not healthy handy and the key of stokes, right? Other than and you're going to be able to take advantage of the depth, no bench. But other than that, you start to struggle and think about where these matchups go. Who covers Chelsea gray. Who's Chelsea gray covering? Who covers Kelsey plum, who's Kelsey plum covering. And so on with Jackie young. And the reason I say that is because like Kelsey plum is not an elite defender, but at the end of the day you look at the guard play from Connecticut and they're not the ones who are putting up ridiculous points. In an ideal world, you're talking about a Connecticut sun team that is going to hope that natisha Hyde man can go off if Kelsey plum is covering her. They're going to hope for some play of like that. What do you think about the JJ as the key player for the sun or would you pick somebody else? I think it's hard. No, I mean, it's going to take a complete effort from everybody. And we're not talking about two teams that have deep benches. So everybody's going to have to be good. And that includes John claud Jones. I agree, you know, she's had a good season. Averaging around 14 and a half in the playoffs. But she's got to be, she's got to give you at least that every single night, you know? I'm not saying she's got to go off and have 25. It would be nice to see that and kind of see a couple big performances, but I don't think it's necessary. I think more so it has to be a complete team effort offensively. That's the glaring thing for me is when is this team really struggled? It's when they can't put the ball through the Met. And if you're finishing with your 5 starters, all in double figures. And that's the case with both of these teams. You know, nobody is going to go deep into their bench. You could argue, okay, Connecticut's probably a little bit deeper. I think in my opinion, Brie Jones is huge for Connecticut. Really struggled in that last game 5 against the Chicago sky, one of three really only in about 17 minutes really uncharacteristic type of performance from Brie Jones, but you know she's been such a steady force for this team and she can really be that consistent score that this team needs. And then they didn't need it the other night, you know, and that worked just fine for them. But I think Brie Jones and establishing that paint presence, whether that's through Alyssa Thomas, you know, getting it downhill to the rim, whether that's through establishing John Paul Jones and the paint or bury Jones in the paint. They have to assert themselves in the interior. So just to kind of echo off you on the JJ comment, for me, it's Brie Jones. I think she's got to be really, really, really good

"From last year, except for the championship trophy. You take home coach of the year, player of the year. Most improved, right? Brian Jones got most approved. John qual Jones and VP and then Kurt Miller coach of the year. Man, that's tough. That's a tough pill to swallow when you get all that. And you don't get the chip. I said ship with a pee, 'cause it may have sound funny. It sounded funny. It sounded right, it's not a break. Make sure. Because sometimes my mom watches it. Let go. But no, I just think that this is the team that's prime and ready to win one. Without Alyssa Thomas last year, I think that hurt them, you know, with John quall even being back, you know, she didn't play in the bubble, but I don't know that battle of being healthy and it sounds so cliche, but that's been the issue for this team. It's just to have everybody in tow. And I think at some point in the season, early on, maybe the first two games, I think alysa Thomas was averaging 24 game, they'll lead the league. So, I mean, she's playing some of her best basketball. And they just need everybody to come together at one point and just be healthy and go for it. And I think with Courtney Williams being back, I mean, to me, that's the piece that was missing last year. I mean, obviously they're missing Melissa Thomas for a chunk of the season as well. A large percentage of the season. But I just think they missed that perimeter score that perimeter rebounder. You know, and nobody really talks about the rebounding prowess of Courtney Williams from the guard spot. She flies in there. She gets 7 or 8 rebounds. I know that's not her average, but sometimes in some games, she has gotten as many as 8, 9 rebounds from the guard spot. So, I mean, this is a player who brings that extra level of energy. Defensively too. But I think, you know, her rebounding ability, especially on the offensive glass. That's what I keep seeing when I'm thinking of her. Is her offensive rebounding ability and, you know, get a fresh shot clock to 14 and then, you know, now you can like, you know, work and move again. I just think that that's, that may have been the missing piece last year. Even if Thomas was hurt, I think if they had Courtney Williams with the players they had last year playing the way that they did, Brianna Jones stepping up most improves. I mean, I think they would have had a better chance of winning. Oh yeah. With her on the floor. Yeah, no, I think that was I think you're right. Exactly what they're wishing was just a person to get a bucket. Just pressing get a bucket and now she's there. She's only been there for one game, but it's like, it just all fit. The rotations worked. It wasn't like there was a situation where you have to incorporate this new brand new person in. No, she was there before and most of the team was on was together. The only one really new piece that's getting a lot of minutes is DJ Carrington and Carrington has been really solid so far. So it's like, this team knows what they're doing. And we talk, we've talked about this plenty, so it's like, they just know exactly what they're doing. And I think Alyssa Thomas, as the head of the spear, is huge for them. It's huge for them because you can get downhill, and she can cause turnovers. They cause and I do want to talk about New York real quick. They cost 32 turnovers against New York liberty. Wow. 19 in the first half, wow, I was not aware Cindy brundell, are you okay? 'cause I need turnovers. I mean, when's the losses? You know, you still operate, you know, what can we do better? I don't care if you win or lose. But when you lose and you have 32 turnovers, I'm sure she did not sleep well that night man, 19 of the first half what? I didn't sleep well. I was so upset. I'm glad you watched this game live 'cause we have the same complaint, always about turnovers. It just drives me. Because like, okay, Connecticut did do a good job. They did a great job pressuring the ball, did a great job, pouncing on it when they saw it. But oh my God, it was just, they were still in the ball over the yard. They didn't care. I haven't seen that team. Care so little about the basketball. Maybe I'll ask Emily to be on here. But like, I was like screaming at TV. Oh, so Matt, turning off. I turn off. I was just like, I don't care. Atlanta, Indiana was like a 15 point game at that point. I was like, I have to watch it 'cause I can not watch. I can't watch a single second of this again because it was just so such a lack of care for the basketball and New Yorker is having a rough start very rough start. But you gotta give Connecticut credit because they were all over. What do you attribute the lack of or the carelessness of New York? What is it about? I don't know. I'm sure they're asking themselves the same question. 'cause it's like they have good players. I don't know. I mean, I think they just hadn't dealt with that level of pressure yet. And that level of pressure from Connecticut, it's a lot. It's a lot. You can't make a little mistake. A little mistake turns into two points the other way. Yeah. So it's like in New York as a team that makes a lot of little mistakes. And then this is always something I say. It's from the replacements, my favorite movie. It's the quicksand theory. It's like, you make a little mistake and they score. And then you make another little mistake. And then we can know almost another one. Another one, no, no. And then suddenly you're down by 20 points to 19 turnovers. You have as many points as you have. They had at one point they had as many turnovers as they had points. Oh, boy. I was livid. I was so mad. And this is not a team that, you know, this isn't the heat, right? I like New York. I hope they succeed because I like the players on the team. This isn't like a team I root for. This is just like, I was mad. I was mad for sandy branle. Yeah, that's my first thought. There will be better days ahead. I don't think they're going to be that bad, but it is tough because when you're playing Connecticut, right? It's the length. It's the pressure. It's the ability to convert that into points. That's true. It kills you. And I think it just gets to a point where it's like, it's almost demoralizing to play against them. I don't know if it's demoralizing or if it's speed you up, right? When you're turning the ball over like that. Because then you're like, wow, we really have to get we really have to get a point on this possession to stop this run. And you can turn it over again. And it's like, it keeps coming back. Yeah..

"Option on that mercury championship team a lot of that, right? Yes. She was obviously a lot earlier in her career, but yeah, that's a really good point. And yeah, Courtney Williams, as long as you bring her up, I'm just gonna go to one of my next ones, Courtney Williams. Okay, I'm glad I am picker 'cause that was the one I had on the top of my list. So yeah, that was a great segue. So let's do it. I mean, first of all, I share initials in a birthday with Gordon Williams. Second off, I just picked her on my fantasy team last year because she told everyone to, if I forget who tweeted, one of the reporters, sorry, I'm not giving you credit. Talk to Courtney Williams, ask her about fantasy fantasy. She said, I have no clue anything about fantasy, but you also picked me on dead. It wasn't Courtney. But also, I just think, I mean, she was a really big part of that 2019, almost championship team. They were what were they like tied with 5 minutes left and gave 5 with the mystics. They were close. And she was a huge part of that. She's a bucket and now when you look at this team, I mean, yeah, maybe she's going to be coming off the bench. You know, whatever. But that starting lineup that they had that year, they have the whole thing except for chiquita Strickland. But they also have dewana bottoms. So that's an upgrade, obviously. To me, this team is at least as good, probably better than that team that was minutes away from winning the championship. And Courtney Williams is a big reason why bringing her off the bench. I feel like if we look at this team the last couple of years, maybe against the sky even in that series, some of the things that cordy Williams brings almost feel like maybe what was the missing piece that maybe could have put them over the top. That energy in that swag and that disability, whether it's off the bench or just at the guard spot rather than a big to just give the ball and go get a bucket. And so I think I love that the sun brought her back. I think this is where she belongs. And to me, I know we're not making where this is all about intriguing players, but my championship pick is the sun and that's a big reason why. I like that. I think so two things. So one thing you brought up that was just thinking about, I was like, so she can instruct them obviously changing she can't strictly for dewana bonner. Is a step up in talent. That's a hell of a fit when you had Strickland there at the three four and it depends on what was happening. But when she was when she was playing the three there and you have Williams at the two and then you made a lot of sense. The reason why I think that 2019 sun team made it to the championship is because they fit so well. It wasn't necessarily just because the talent level, it was because they fit perfectly altogether. And this team, that's why I say dewan bonner there. And Courtney Williams is in the same category as like, does it all fit now again? Can they make that fit work? Because to want to monitor and stand in the corner waiting for threes. That's not her game. You know who else ain't doing that? Courtney Williams. Is not weighed on the three point line to get to get threes. She'll get to wait to get the ball and then she'll do whatever she wants with it. So now, okay, is John called Jones going to kind of like, who's the spacer? John quall could be a space or do you want her to be a spaceship? I mean, unless Thomas is not going to shoot, that's not happening. Alyssa Thomas is going to do exactly what she does. I mean there's little intrigue that she can do exactly what she does. So how do those players fit around her? Also, while we're here, is there any chance this year? Then nea cloud and takes a little bit of Courtney Williams minutes. Because I think you want to know someone who can stand on the three point line and shoot threes. Nia clone, she's a rookie. You can tell her whatever you could tell her whatever you want. She had three threes, I think, in their pre season game. Obviously, this is coming from the captain of the neo cloud and fan base. This is why I'm.
