"The factor remains as great as LeBron James is, he doesn't win that championship in Miami without a Ray Allen three pointer. The fact remains as great as Michael Jordan was, I don't know if he wins that championship without John Paxton hidden those jumpers without Steve Kerr hitting those jumpers. As great as Tom Brady is as a quarterback, the greatest of all time. He does not win 7 super bowls. If he doesn't have Bill Belichick's defense, holding down the fort, shutting teams down, limiting the Los Angeles ramps of three points in a Super Bowl. When you are an individual sport athlete, like Serena, who I think is the greatest female tennis player of all time. You have no one to count on but yourself. And I think that's something that separates athletes like Serena, like Tiger Woods, like Michael Phelps, like Usain Bolt, from team sport athlete. Now again, we'll get into this later on, maybe in a couple of weeks once Serena actually does retire because I think we'll make it a bigger deal then. And I can't wait to give her her flowers. And obviously I want to have that conversation with Jason 'cause I think he may disagree, but I think it'll be a good conversation to have. Last thing though, before we get to fan mail, which again is growing like wildfire. You guys have really enjoyed that segment so far. And I know it's only day two, but it seems like the fans like this segment. I'm excited about it. Quickly though, on the other big story of the day to come in on Tuesday. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell spoke with the media. And let it be known that they will be seeking at least one year suspension for deshaun Watson in their appeal. That is currently under review. And Goodell's rationale in this situation is that they've seen the evidence, quote she was very clear talking about Sue Al Robinson about the evidence. She reinforced the evidence, there were multiple violations that were egregious and it was predatory behavior. I agree with everything Roger Goodell said in his statement. I believed before all of this shook out and the actual suspension came down. That deshaun Watson should get a minimum of 12 games for his actions in all of those massage therapy parlors, hotel rooms, bedrooms, wherever he was doing it. I agree. It was predatory behavior, and I thought that 12 games at a minimum should have

"He might be able to do that, but by the end of the series, as this goes longer, will he be able to do that without taking 25, 30 shots? Will he be able to do that efficiently enough? And I just think it's a tremendous challenge. So if the Celtics play their best, I think they're champions. If they stay healthy and play to their capability, I think they win the championship. There's no question. I mean, I think that with rob Williams somewhat healthy, the Celtics just have too many options where guys can contribute where the warriors, they can put it together for stretches, like a quarter, like the third quarter, what have you. But the staff show for largely the whole game. And I just don't think anybody in this league is capable of that. I mean, when Jordan was winning titles, he was doing it with Scottie Pippen. And you know, along with a guy like Steve Kerr on the outside or, you know, John Paxton making big shots when they needed to. The warriors just to me right now, and this is just luck of the draw over the course of an 82 game season. They just don't have the depth and they're not, they're just not firing on all cylinders where the Celtics from the second half of the season on, they've been the best team in the NBA. Yeah, and the issue for the warriors too before we move out of the Pats is they don't have as many two way players. You know, it's almost as simple as that. You know, they've got very, they've got guys who fit in certain types of boxes. Like Jordan Poole is a good off the dribble offensive player. He's terrible defensively. When you challenge him physically, he's not going to consistently beat you. Clay, you know, clay is off a screen guy, not the best in creating for others. And he's not, you know, he's not clay that he was 5 years ago because of the injuries. So you have a lot of like Andrew Wiggins can play both ends, but he's not the most consistent guy offensively. Curry is fantastic offensively, but as you saw last night, if he gets switched on a Tatum or a brown or anybody for the Celtics, aside from Payton Pritchard, it's a terrible matchup for the warriors. So the Celtics just have more versatility. They play both ends of the floor. All right, let's get to the Patriots. "I mean, me personally, I think they can go deep with the team they've got, but if they really, really want to get out of the Eastern Conference, I think they're honestly, you know, one player way, especially at the four position, not having Patrick Williams back for the whole season. He may come back for the playoffs, but as you know he's going to be rusty. He's going to be out of shape and that's not really what the bulls need. "I don't know, it's kind of fun to run it back, I guess. I don't know, I feel badly, because Jackie Bradley junior, like the defense is really slipped. So it's like the value is it's kind of dependent on him either looking a lot better in the field or the bat rallying in a way that I don't know, that's kind of. But they got some prospects and now hunter renfrow gets to be a brewer, so that's fine. Yeah, the Red Sox reunion I was even more interested and of course was the Red Sox brought back rich hill yet again. I think his fourth tour of duty with the Red Sox organization. So of course thrilled that Rachel will presumably still be in uniform at age 42 in his 18th major league season. And it will be a familiar uniform. So still going strong or strong enough. I mean, richel pitched almost a 160 innings in 2021, who said that coming. It's like you can almost win a young award with that number of innings. So he is still pretty effective when he pitches. So this is a one year $5 million deal. And the Red Sox also signed a favorite of yours. James Paxton. Yeah, they are supplementing their rotation with a couple of interred lefties. Yeah. Hopefully they will not be often true. And they've both been mostly effective when they are not injured, I guess would be exception of some of Paxton's most recent work. Yeah, it's interesting, I think that, you know, this year they were really bolstered by a rotation that was remarkably healthy. You know, obviously they didn't get sail back until later, but apart from that, their guys stayed healthy for a lot of the year. And some of them are guys with their own question marks in terms of health, right? And it's like they're trying to run that back with another set of oft injured but good when healthy. So I don't know, I'm gonna get like, it's not getting the same band back together again, but you're trying to play the hits. Once more, I don't know, I think that if that stuff works out for them, if those guys are able to stay healthy, if later into the year, when he's fully recovered from Tommy John, Paxton is able to pitch, like that's a nice boost going into the postseason assuming that he looks like the good version or some version of the good version of himself. But yeah, I don't know, it would be so cool if Rachel was amazing. That would be so cool if he was amazing for that. I was always amazing. There's no hypothetical there. He will be amazing. I don't know whether he'll pitch well, but yeah. People always be he'll always be himself, and that is amazing. Yes. "Been Dante Vincenzo might not be ready for the start of the season. He's injured. A confident that the bucks did enough in support of their big three now Middleton, Giannis, drew. In order to be a better team, they clearly figured something out last postseason. I think the could get back to being more of an elite regular season team like they had been in years past, but I'm curious rob like, I don't know. Are we confident in the, I don't know, the Rodney hoods of the world, the grace and Allen that that is enough to make up the difference. Not totally. I think they have some work to do in terms of just kind of shaping their rotation. If you remember, this is a team that needed like occasional big performances from guys like Bryn Forbes. Like needed him to come in and hit a bunch of shots. Can grace and Allen be that kind of player? I think there's some precedent for that, but in huge games, it's just a totally different level of pressure. They're going to need to kind of be on the lookout for ways they can punch up the rotation, like they did with PJ Tucker last season, seizing on those kinds of opportunities. So they're obviously going to miss PJ. They're going to miss what he brings defensively. But this is a team that I think not only with that acquisition, but historically, has been pretty creative in terms of like, let's just find a way to get a random rotation player in the middle of the season. Let's package a bunch of second round picks. Let's work the waivers in these particular ways. They found ways to find guys. So right now, I think they are short, probably a player, maybe two, depending on if some of these guys are reliable or not is Rodney hood going to be healthy or not is a big variable for them. But I think they can figure it out, which is the important thing. Yeah, and the issue is obviously Tucker, not being there is definitely a whole, especially on the defensive end. I'm just worried that considering the amount of resources they've poured into getting drew holiday and even getting Tucker back in their at the deadline last year, how do they even get that guy? You really need even chenzhou to just be healthy and to be the type of young guy with upside who could fill that little void there because I don't know, they don't step in rurals preventing them to trade their pick for a while. I don't know if they have. I think they only have like a couple seconds they could trade. It's going to be very, very difficult. Maybe they get the ring chasers, maybe they get the next Marvin Williams on the buyout market, but they're going to have competition for that. The Lakers probably going to be front and center of that race just like they were last year. So we'll see what happens. But the Lakers is a good time to pivot to them because they're number two on our list, obviously. I also think the question there is depth because obviously there's going to be fit concerns with west brook and AD and LeBron just considering what Westbrook does. But like we talked a lot about how it did so well in the buyout market. You got all these wings. All of a sudden the preseason one, they're dropping like flies. And two, like, I don't know if I was all that convinced that they had enough three, Andy guys to begin with and mellow is starting games, white Ellington, all of a sudden is like the second coming of three point shooter, I don't know, John Paxton, whoever you want to put in that role, I don't know. It's looking a little shakier than even I think the most skeptical people would have had in this off season was where are you on your Lakers odometer because I do think you were one person who maybe was higher than in my remembering correctly based on what they did on the fringes. So I was, well, on the fringes, I think they did what they had to do in the sense that they had a mandate to get shooting around a team that has Russell Westbrook on it and who's going to figure prominently on the team. And they got to shooting. What they don't have is perimeter to defense and they're going to have to cobble that together between switchable AD LeBron actually trying. Westbrook actually doing it. They're going to have to figure that part out of it. And I think it's possible. And I remember when I made the one 80 on the Lakers 'cause I was like super down on a Westbrook thing. And I just had the epiphany. I was like, look, you know, and rob made fun of me for this, but I was like, look like, why can't rush Westbrook be just as good as rondo and Dennis Schroeder in their roles that they played for the Lakers the last two seasons? And rob, I think the quote was, well, why can't you fill up a teacup with a garden hose or something like that? Like, yes, you can do it. It can do the job, but that's not what it's made for. And, you know, I think a lot of times oftentimes in life, if I could give philosophical for a second, the question we're asking ourselves is can people change? Can people change? Can people change and call me romantic, call me a sucker, call me an idiot? I think Westbrook has the ability to change. I was not expecting this. With LeBron James the four time NBA champion probably the second greatest player who's ever dribbled the basketball. I believe in Westbrook's ability to change. I mean, he was flying out of his mouth. So whatever he was whatever he had, uh, eating or George or or had the drink in the hours before doing that certainly came up. I felt bad for him. It's a terrible feeling. Have to throw up. You're on the pitcher's mound and you're trying to get through the inning. And you're just blowing chunks. All that replace that's terrible. I don't know if I've I know that I've seen football players throw up, and I've I've I've exercised so much before that. I've thrown up sauce. I don't know if this happened to you.
