"And that's basically to supply other brands a product. So we build it. They buy it. They put their name on it. And that happened for a while and sixties The factory in nineteen sixty two was named the thomma factory. But we were not making thomas drums at that point so we were making original equipment manufacturing trump's some of those drums were sold to big box retailers time such as montgomery ward which was got an old school retailer That was a sears competitor. And you would see different brands coming out of the the. Oem factory that were certainly not tomah and then in about one thousand nine hundred sixty seven. Thomas realized well. Let's put our own name on the drums. And of course because of the the hoshino name the drums star though that was the first who she branded drum sets starred wants back in sixty seven sixty eight. Wow and you can always typically tell something that's related hoshino because it says world supreme quality correct which kind of neat neat little thing to to know. It's a cool thing. And and absolutely you know the i think the gestalt of of a japanese culture in the sixties was was to to imitate and take the best. You know of anything imitated. Then try to improve on and what a what a formula for success and you can certainly look at you. Know photo photography industry or the bike industry or or you know so many different industries and television industry and then the automobile industry which everybody and i think that is a blueprint to the formula. And certainly i'm not qualified to speak about that but i'm sure there's manufacturing experts in his. You know history experts that can go deep and it's quite a fascinating study but we were just one company that was trying to do that very modestly in the drama industry. Yeah it's so neat to see the And i've talked about with other people where there's there's just something obviously they. They call them stencil drums to as. I'm sure you know where it where it would be like you know. Hey all the kids are buying ludwig and slinger lend. Let's make the drums look like ludwig and slinger land and a lot of them are on very Very close Representations of the throw a rogers throw off or like this. Like i have a hoshino kit and the badge from from ten feet away. It's like that a slinger land set. Oh no it's not you know so just that sort of Just it's just very interesting. And i think a lot of it. I've talked with people before about it. Where a lot of it is. Because it's the japanese market. It was like the american brands weren't really gonna. Who are they gonna go after to say. Hey quit using our style also Not that it's i guess. There is some legality. But i've run into that too with european brands. where like the turret lug. You know the george way. Turret lug where Hayman drums was using it. And it's like once you go across the ocean. There's there's not as much it's sort of. It's different with copyright and all its. I mean it depends. Where where are you file pat. And so sometimes it's just usa only sometimes now obviously with globalization the host those intellectual properties. very sensitive and more far-reaching..

I mean because they can feed themselves in the it's one person then a whole gang and he was a butcher like he knows his shit. You knows how to cook somebody animal. He's not scottish. There's no medieval scottish meets in this one week. Sorry i can only. I can't do too many cannibal stories via through space them out a little bit so years went by and he kept doing this stuff and eventually he was kind of ambushed. Kinda i imagine it was more like one person hiding from the other person and the other person hiding annex. They startled each other. So thomas morris was a servant of the forest keeper over the forest that he was basically squatting in man. Anybody named thomas. just they're always trouble. It's sure assholes dick's complete trash We don't mean it to most thomas most but there's i think we're thinking of the same. Tom fuck him. Yeah now the thomas that might think were ferring to him but he thomas so we're talking about you know your bitch. So he basically he stumbled across or he stumbled upon turpin in his camp turpin. Oh and shot him fucking killed him. At this point he didn't. I don't think murdered anybody in cold. Blood oh shit. Before so just put him with an like right at the edge of life but now he's taking now. He went too far. Scott basically what happened is they. The story started circulate in all the newspapers. Dick turpin highway man robber now murderers yet they would put his description in and the duke the put out a two hundred pound bounty on his head figure out without is in today's money pound seventeen thirty seven. I don't remember just somewhere around there. How much two hundred pounds are so he. Yeah i was just being circulated and now he's worth something. The sad thing is that like the bounty placed on his head exponentially more the will not exponentially but it's a lot more forty four thousand six hundred pounds. Scott damn yeah keep that open because there are some other ones late i got it. I got it. So she's yeah that's time money holy shit so at this point he was like fuck. i'm fucked. He jumps on a ferry and changes his name to john. Palmer he not to be confused with arnold palmer. Yes yeah clara. I know that's going to be a common mistake. That skinny invented great drinks and they both beat the shit out of people regular and their wives. "Three of the program John Michaels. John Palmer with You always always always a lot of fun on a Sunday afternoon to sit and talk sports, and we've got a PGA Championship under way round number four. Dustin Johnson going to try to win Think Tiger finished three under today to finish it one under overall. Ah, you look good on Friday. I thought Tiger was going to have one of those moments right On Friday. He played well, but over the weekend it was 68 70 to 72 67. If you could have kept it in the seventies, he would have been in car in the sixties. He would have been in contention, but he never really was was not comfortable off the tee. He was missing parts left and right. And unfortunately it makes it where I'm not rushing to turn on the TV. I'll tune in when we get towards the back nine. But if Tiger was playing today, like he did the Masters a year ago. And he was in the lead in contention. I remember watching every single minute of that match and loving every single minute off that match. I've got interesting. Ah, week coming up. And I'll get into some of this a little bit later on, But our kids start back to school this week. Now they're not going to be in class. Um, I guess for them. The best thing is they're not going to be In class. We've got to now figure out virtual, and I've got a kid starting a brand new school. He's going to middle school and I have no idea. I've gotta work tomorrow and they've got all these meeting. So I've gotta wake him up and try to get him online to make this happen, which there's probably zero chance Of that going a smooth as we hope for, which means Dad's gonna have to step outside of the job and say, Look, I got to take care of the kids here for a little while, but kids are are slowly going back to school. I know there's video of everything that's happened here in Georgia, where kids are without mass. This that and the other and it just looks so bad and so idiotic. And I wish again. This goes back in. It's college football related in its country related everything else. I wish the leadership was better everywhere like we're getting a mixed message literally from school to school. And from county to county. We have no idea how this is gonna work out now. I love some good trash talk, and I love what I've seen so far, obviously from a From from what's going on in the N B. A. My friend, man, I'm doing great, and I've ready for Drake future. Let's talk about tonight. Let's get into it. We've got John Palmer with us. Once again, John is coach speaker who's passionate about alternative energy, efficient government, and more recently generous listening together with his wife Doreen, he manages a coaching business which served the emotional visions of ex patriots returning home from overseas assignments. John's driving interest is sharing his passion that humans will continue on the path of creating a fabulous future. As long as we keep our focus on creating that future and not on reporting and regurgitating the seemingly overwhelming problems that we see today. John welcome back to the show. I very much Ville well on Monday. We got into climate and what we might do and what we're going to have to do in terms of turning that. Around to go from global warming to global cooling, and it seems like now on tonight show we're gonna talk about what everything else right. Pretty much. We're gonna we're gonna bring it all together. So let's talk about getting to a fabulous future. And maybe let's start with why is that news? Right? Why is the idea of moving to a good future and unexpected direction for people? Why is that even something that that you have to make a case for? Let me talk a little bit about that. The biggest thing is that people are resist change. We always this change. I resent change. You guys resist change, and even at where we're worth a change agents and the speed of change scares people because they, they see things changing around them and they're all waste on work and they have to adapt and new systems, and they don't really see how future developments will likely benefit them and their children and grandchildren. One of the other things that happens is that we have cognitive biases that prevent us from looking at a pas. Future cognitive biases are have Lucien.
