"Of a lie, they discover that to go on through life without God is to discover pain and guilt and disappointment and shame. What a picture it is. A pathetic comic picture almost in genesis chapter three and in verse 7, when all of a sudden Adam and Eve, the lights go on for them, and they realize that they are naked. They realize what has happened to them. And you have the picture there of man in the original state. Trying to sow fig leafs together. So in fig leaves together to cover up their nakedness. Men and women will try all kinds of things. To cover up the fact that we are now naked and exposed before the wrath of God. Paul goes on through Romans in elite explained the implications of this by the time you get to chapter 5 and you can read ahead. We're not going there right now. Adam and Eve hit because they knew they had sinned. And we hide because we know the same. Despite what you find in the media, men and women in Cleveland are not seeking for God. They're not seeking God. We're actually hiding from God. Seeking to suppress the truth about God. Seeking to stifle in our conscience, any notion that we are by nature accountable. And that's what he's going on to say, isn't it? For what verse 19 can be known about God is played. God is not the one who is hiding. What can be known about God, his plane, his plane to see because verse 19 God has put it on display. Now, I don't have a structure for this this morning with three notes or three points. I'm just going to try and make my way through these verses and hoping that you can track with me. And that's why it's good to have your Bible open. It looked there. What can be known about God is playing to them because he has shown it to them. And then he goes on in verse 20 for his invisible attributes, namely his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen. What an oxymoron that is. That the invisible has cleared has been clearly perceived. You like that? Well, of course, God's invisible attributes are clearly perceived. How are they clearly perceived? Where are they clearly perceived? They're clearly perceived in creation in creation. His power and his divinity, so creation is not just an announcement of itself. Creation is the work of God, and in the work of creation, God's power and is divinity, his eternity, his otherness, is now perceived. If you were like a sentence, any of you who take notes, I have a wonderful sentence for you. Here it comes. This is from the late professor John Murray.

"One author has suggested that these are features of contemporary, evangelicalism, and evangelical that knows very little and cares very little about the law of God. Here, this is his perspective. What you will find there, an absence of a true and realistic understanding of the seriousness of sin. Superficial preach in their appeals to man's felt needs and affection. A general listlessness and lawlessness in the lives of professing Christians. An absence of the fear of God in public worship and private living. Churches relying on strategies borrowed from business and psychology and a growing confidence in ourselves and an accompanying loss of confidence in God and in his word. Now, we say, well, this must be something that is unique to our age. No. This is Martin Luther. In his writings, undulations. He says, I fear that after our time, after his time, that's quite a time. The right handling of the law will become a launched art. Even now, although we continually explain the separate functions of the law and the gospel, we have those among us who do not understand how the law should be used. What will it be like when we are dead and gone? At the very fact they are even doing the catechism speaks to this. If you take the earlier category, not just the one we're using and perhaps not as much the one we're using. But if you go back to those catechisms, the vast majority, at least a third of the catechism were directly questions and answers relating to the law of God. Asking, what is God require? What is it that God expects to be for our rule of life? And if you pardon me, just another quote from John Murray in relationship to this, he says that when we affirm the fight, that the rule of our life is in the law of God. Quotes, the statement of such a position is exceedingly distasteful to many phases of modern thought, both within and without the evangelical family. It is agreed that the conception of an externally revealed and imposed code of duty norm of right feeling thought and conduct is entirely out of accord with a liberty and spontaneity of a Christian life. We are told that conformity to the will of God must come from within, and therefore any stipulation or prescription from without in the form of well defined precepts is wholly aliens in the spirit of the gospel. It is inconsistent this day with a spirit or principle of love. Don't speak of law, nor of moral precepts, nor of a code of morals, speak of the law of life. Now, some of you have come across this. You will find it. You need to be alert to it. You read a book on Christian manhood and in the book on Christian manhood, the author says, the problem with our men today is that they've grown up with all these dues and don'ts. That has absolutely spoiled their existence. They don't need dos and don'ts. They need an adventure. They need to have an adventure. While he's obviously not involved in pastoral ministry. Because our men are having adventures and not all the adventures are ones that God would necessarily condone. In fact, adventures by our teams and adventures by all of us. If we use our tummy as the deciding factor on what adventures are good for us and what adventures are allowable and what adventures are not allowable, how in the world is

"Supper, memorializes Jesus death. So here it is. The deliverance from Egypt and from the bondage to slavery there gave sanction to the Sabbath institution under the old covenant. And the resurrection in its redemptive character gives sanction to the sacredness of the first day of the week. So the pattern is seen, not simply in looking back, but in looking forward, redemption has three tenses to it. There is a past and a present and a future element. And so too, does the observance of God's day. We look back in the past and memorialize the fact of his resurrection. We look forward to the day when we will enter into the fullness of the Sabbath rest prepared for the people of God. And in the present time, the significance of the Sabbath principle is found in the beneficent nature of why God has left it to us. And it is for this reason that we read moments ago from Matthew chapter 12 because it is there as well as in March 2 that we find the statements which are most often misapplied and misquoted, the statements of Jesus underscoring the fact that the Sabbath was made for man rather than man for the Sabbath and convincing his listeners of the fact that the son of man is lord of the Sabbath. Jesus was not a certain his lordship over the Sabbath nearly to prepare men for his abolishing of the Sabbath in just a matter of a very short time. It would be a strange and uncharacteristic action on the part of Jesus and it would be in no sense in keeping or in accord with anything else that he ever did. Christ affirmed the place of the lord's day. He affirmed its abiding application. He is the lord of the Sabbath he says, guarding it against the distortion of the pharisees and seeking to make sure that no one deprives men of that which has been given for his good. Indeed, when Jesus says I am lord over the Sabbath, he is affirming the fact that he desires that men and women enter into all the benefits that the lord's day brings. And as lord, he speaks his authority and regulating the abiding law of a Sabbath day. Now, I've covered a great deal in that. And I need to because I need to come to this area of the practice of the lord's day being applied. The principle which is stated and the pattern which is observed, we can return to, I'm sure we will have occasion to. But for the time that remains to us, I would like to draw very heavily on the work of the late professor John Murray and affirm for us the abiding application of the Sabbath in our day. This is very, very important because as you know, it is a question of great confusion. I quoted from a gentleman who had passed away in 1975 and writing before his death, he said this, it is not too much to say that we almost, if not all the blessings we enjoy to the lord's day. It's a quite awesome statement without it, there is no true Christianity. And without Christianity, there is no real lasting spiritual blessing.

"It is impossible to embrace in a believing way, Jesus until we understand the historicity and reality of who he is and what he's done. But it is possible for us to have an intellectual grasp of these things without ourselves ever having become believers in the lord Jesus Christ. So a believer in Jesus is able to look back to a precious moment or precious moments or a period of time in his or her life, where consciously and personally they moved from a state of unbelief to a state of belief. They realized that Jesus is a savior and that they were sinners and that they needed a savior. And that they needed to ask Jesus to be their savior and to be their friend. It was what it means to believe. That's why Lydia enacts 16. Prosperous businesswoman, with a prayer meeting, a ladies, Bible study, if you like, down by the river. Anybody would have said old Lydia, she's in tune. There's a believer, Lydia. She has prayer meetings. Such a nice lady Lydia. And Paul, the apostle shows up at the prayer meeting. And the lord says Luke opened her heart. And she who was a religious worshipper of God became a believer. I believe. In the same passage in act 16, the philippian jailer makes the same shift, doesn't he? The earthquake happens, the chains are loosed. He thinks that the prisoners are all going to escape. He's about ready to kill himself because he knows that will be his destiny if the word gets out that they're all gone. Don't do yourself any harm. He says, I heard you sing in all night there and I couldn't believe you were singing. Most people are cursing and you keep thinking about this recent Jesus. How he is a savior and a lord of the king. Can I just ask you guys, what must I do to be saved? The box is, well, if you believe on a lord Jesus Christ, you will be saved. And if your family believe as well, they'll be saved. So down by the riverside, and then in the context of the jail, we have these baptismal services. Why? Because they were making public expression. Of their private personal belief in Jesus. Do you believe? Do you believe? You see, when you get to verse 5, and you need to worry about that because we won't really get there. This morning. But when you look at versa 5, and he says, listen to my dear brothers, that's not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith. You need to realize that the fact of God's choosing doesn't deny the necessity and reality of our believing. The fact of God's choosing does not deny the necessity and reality of our believing. People ask me there's questions just about every single Sunday. Well, if God chooses us, I suppose we don't have anything to do with it at all. No, absolutely wrong. We have everything to do with it. God does not believe for us. We must believe that's why today we are either believing or we're unbelieving. John Murray the late professor John Murray in a wonderful passage in one of his books uses this illustration and I share it for your help. He says we must never ignore the necessity of personal acceptance and trust. The lifeboat is no good unless the drowning man gets into it. And no one can get in for him. He must do it for himself. Yet surely he would never say that the hand which sees the lifeboat was his Salvation. He could only view it as the means by which he apprehended the proffered safety. See, the only thing we bring to our Salvation is the sin for which we need forgiveness. And when we reach out the hand of faith, we are simply taking the safety that is profit to as in the provision that Jesus has made. And it is inactive divine transaction. In that moment, in that expediency moment in time, that all of the secret dimensions of the purposes of God become ours in their fullness and in their focus. Alec Matthias puts it his father's new life in Christ. May trace its conscious and public history back to the moment of decision of commitment of accepting the lord Jesus as one's personal savior. Is there in your life? A moment of decision of commitment of accepting the lord Jesus Christ as your savior. That's the question. That's the question. Because if there isn't, how in the world do you believe that you believe? If you don't know that you were married on a certain day, prior to that day you were unmarried and after that day you were married, then you're clueless. Or you're unmarried. But he goes on. Every conversion has a secret history which the Bible reveals, and which owes its origin to God's choice. So you say to me, did you, when did you believe in Jesus and trusted him? I believed and trusted in him as far as I can understand it on a Sunday afternoon, having come home from a Sunday school where I had been probably the worst boy in the class, but had figured out something of what was being said about the necessity of being a dreadful little sinner and needing a savior. I didn't have any problem with the first part. It was reinforced regularly for me. And I went home and I asked my father. How old do you have to be to become a Christian to believe in Jesus? And he said, there's not about how old you are. It's about whether you understand this. And this and this, and he led me through the gospel. And then we knelt down by a chair in a room in suburban Glasgow, and I asked Jesus to forgive my sin to come and live in my life and make me the kind of boy he wanted me to be. That's the moment the conscious experiential moment in time that I base my understanding of faith upon. But I recognize that behind that is a secret history of God. Whereby he ordered all the steps of my life, leading me into that very home and into that Sunday school class and into that moment in time and the faithfulness of the teacher who said what she said in order that I hearing what she said might come to believe in Jesus. My dear brothers, he writes as believers. You see, until we believe, we don't have the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, living in our lives, enabling

"If the two of them do that and they get the rest from their bench in any way, shape or form or the rest of their starting 5. But anything from their bench, they'll be very tough to be. Okay. So, I'll say that's an overreaction. I kind of be in the driver's seat in the east when Giannis can actually beat anybody. I mean, you heard what win horse said in the first hour that Yanis can beat anybody for out of 7 in any spot, western conference opponent in the finals or anybody in the east, so. You got one more? NBA. I got a couple more. Let me give you one more. We talked about the new poll of Georgia. That's all we both saw that. I don't know what that was. I've never seen anything like that. But the Memphis Grizzlies are 25 this season. When jaw doesn't play. So because of that, the grizzlies are just fine without John Murray. That's absolutely ridiculous. They need John morant in a big way, and I think they're going to without him, you know what's happened to them tonight by the warriors. I think that's the way that that's going. Yeah. Oh yeah, I don't feel very good for the grizzlies chances without him. So that's a total overreaction. All right, we got two more quick ones for you. Okay. Chris Paul, the last two games. Yes. Has not played well. Let's just call that like we see it. And if that Chris Paul continues to show up, the Mavs can absolutely take the Sunday. I agree with you. What if Lucas starts just popping in it? What if Luke had pops in 50 in a game 5? That's the stuff. I just don't know, I'm just throwing out there. Absolutely..

And they took a picture and they sent it to him and he called me and said, hey, I'm about to break this. Do you, you know, do you want me to break it or not? And so I remember him saving me and then John Murray. He's another one that said, hey, I'm about to break this. So there are people in the industry that will call you and say, hey, do you want me to save you or not? So reputation has stayed clean because of friends and industry. No, it can absolutely go either way. For sure. I don't think I had the best of Friends in my early 20s. Now I have better Friends. Anyway. Coming up is Aaron Rodgers making a play win back. "Place is a guy named John. I'm John Murray. I'm the executive director of race and sports book for the westgate Las Vegas super book. John makes sure everyone is taking care of Pablo at the staff, the customers, VIP guests, and especially what they call house players. These are like high rollers. These are the guys making big bets. But they're not running their own data models. They definitely don't have a setup like Doug has. They're just doing it for fun and because they have money to burn. So from John standpoint from the casino standpoint, they are crucial to the business. So he's plain host, he's also tracking the bets or tickets they call it like how many are written up at the counter, how many are coming on the app? It's actually about 70% on the app, by the way. And John is probably the one at the westgate who most acutely feels all of the new competition. They're playing catch up with DraftKings and FanDuel and those are the places that have a huge jump on the online market and part of John's job is trying to get new customers there and he's trying to keep the high rollers that he has, both in person and online. He's trying to keep them betting with the westgate. We consider ourselves an industry leader in getting a lot of events up for bedding on the menu that no one else has. We get the lines up first. We try to offer fair limits to all of our guests. It's also John's job to manage the sports books relationship to the overall casino bosses. Remember, it's not just the sports book. They're running a whole casino with blackjack craps, roulette and everything else. We have losing days. Every football season there is an NFL Sunday where all the favorites cover and the book just gets crushed. As you handle more money and there's more money in these pools, you can also lose more money. I mean, yeah, if we're gonna start winning 5 times what we used to win when we're in all these states, that means that we're also going to have days where we lose 5 times as much as we used to lose and we have to explain why to certain people and it's part of the job. Now Pablo before John had this current job. He was a risk analyst, like Ed and Jeff. And before he kind of went into the front office, such as it is, he was involved in setting those lines, figuring out what the spreads should be. And so he still leads this big meeting that the whole group has.

"Down the NFL card coming up with Las Vegas odds maker, John Murray. A lot to get through. Obviously, Thursday night game is such an intriguing matchup. We had to wait until week 8 to get this kind of a showdown. Unfortunately, the packers are going to be shorthanded. The cluster of absences of the wide receiver position mean for Aaron Rodgers and also the point spread and odds making component at all. We'll check in with Murray in a moment. And then we'll get to the rest of the week 8 card. Lot to digest. I made a little bit move in the bonanza towards respectability, Murray came back a little bit, so regression was expected there. So we'll do all that, have a lot of fun, break it all down. Kicking us for losers. Time now to bring in mister executive director and off the top of my head, did we have major kicking as for losers moments? Last week. I don't know. I don't recall anything particularly funny last week. Did I miss one? It's funny. People will tweet out and stuff about I personally am not opposed to field goals and stuff. I just, especially when they're like game winners, I just don't understand some of the logic of punting and some of the stuff, but for example, the ravens punted excuse me, did not punt forth in 7 on their own 40 with ten minutes to go in the fourth quarter down ten. I did not agree with that move at all. Yeah. Okay. I'm fine with that. I don't like usually there's some ridiculous field goal. I guess Mike McCarthy had a buy last week. So that that would limit the damage, but no, I don't recall. And usually when there's something really stupid, someone will tweet at me, which I really appreciate, by the way. Yeah. And let me know. But I don't recall that happening this week. I'm not sure. We survived. We survived on the McCarthy bi week. Let's start with tonight's game because it's so intriguing with the cluster of absences for the wide receiver situation..

"Play i'm not saying i would bet this. But according to john murray of the super book they have seen thirty five to one early tickets on kansas city. Over the ravens. Thirty five to one. It's the most lopsided early week betting he's ever seen from a circa play. Is it worth fading and taking the ravens plus three and a half. I mean i think so. I think we use that same strategy on the saints loss. Everybody was on the packers man. And i like primetime it is. Everyone knows that lamar. How's it beating the chiefs. Mahomes those lamar over and over and over. I love getting out number three and a half though. I mean if that was three. There's no way touch. It did not hook now. It's a big look especially in the prime time game. And then lamar yeah like he had some fumble issues but he you know a little bit. That goes a luck. Goes into that Man i you could definitely tell me on the ravens are they. Were making progress. Now what do you think about the chargers again. I love it but according to share pen. He's he's he's saying no way on it just because everyone's going to be on it. It's very lopsided the same way not as bad as she's ravens but i like both la teams this weekend. I liked the rams. And i like the chargers so i can. I can roll with it for sure if you like. The chargers charges to the chargers impressed me last week. I mean everyone talked washington football defense. It'll be interesting to see tonight. Maybe that defense isn't as good as everyone thought. We'll see what happens for that. I definitely want to watch the game tonight. That might alter my opinion on how good that is. But one game. And i know we've been on it. The panthers my darnold darnold trend. That you're getting the hook the saints cova dishes tobacco road games back to back road games plus the the packers that was one of those crazy games. Phuc games that just kind of got away from them. It was all downhill My panthers i think are still in play. And and i i mean i love getting that hook again and i'm hired on darnold than most i might. I think the market might catch up to them here if they do even come out and they beat the saints. But that's also. When i'm looking at well i think the saints aren't as good as what they showed and i think if you wanna fade the overreaction to the saints. I'm fine with it. I mean. I think i've been over nine and a half wins. I'm so confident. They're going to win. Ten games but on the road here. Without i mean five of their coaches. It's my only concern with the is the defense against darnell. He does so poorly against pressure and the saints are going to bring the house. They're just gonna jed back when he was on the jets yet. Adam gates making play calls. He's in better hands now. Better talent around him. It's a different..

"Heard john murray from the west gate super bowl here in vegas on a podcast. Talk about their more bets on washington to win the nfc spend any other team in any other division. And it's just there's this aura of washington football this year and i'm excited as washingtonian but i'm also skeptical because i don't know if they're they're just yet. I think they're in the right half. But i think eight and a half wins was kind of lofty expectations. Everyone's pounding the over and you take a look at the schedule. I mean the crossover games are not a nice. You know your seventeenth game is Is the bills on the road awesome. That's great you know a team that could very well win the super bowl You win the division last year. So you gotta go to. Lambeau you get the host russell wilson on monday night football Those are really challenging game. The first place schedule did not do any favors for the washington football team. And then you get the afc west. I think the broncos go over their win total eight and a half The chargers are are on the up and up. I think the raiders don't suck. I think that's a tricky game. Here in las vegas in early december. So i think the schedules challenging The quarterbacks that they play and I think under half line. I mean i bet it That's that's where i would go. I bet it to. I was very up front with everybody. That listen to this podcast and the radio show. I bet them under eight and a half plus one oh five. My prediction for the season was a cowardly eight one. So i got him at five hundred. But i got him under the eight and a half and i've told people i bet the giants in the eagles and the cowboys on their over numbers. I really like my eagles over seven. Plus one twenty Bet but you gave me the reasons why you bet under and i don't disagree with any of them. I would add a few more to it. Which i have in the past but tell me why. Tell me what would happen. That would make you dead wrong. Well i.

"Welcome in to another football. Podcast football season. I'm doug kazarian. Mr executive director john murray will be joining us momentarily. And i just want to address because i know received a lot of tweets from you out there in same podcast. But we are shifting under the daily wager umbrella. And so thursdays. We're just gonna have a special edition daily wager daily wager extra and it'd be the same format that we do. We're still gonna baby bankroll bonanza. We're still gonna have. John murray breakdown all the games just trying to make it easier for everyone and putting it under one feed and we're also going to be introducing a new podcast sunday nights slash monday mornings. So we're gonna have a recap of the football weekend for you to download and listen to on monday mornings. You don't have to wait later in the week again. All on the daily wage platform and umbrella and feed. So there's a lot of stuff technical there so i hope you guys didn't miss a beat. It's supposed to be seamless on that front. But we're still got another fun season. John murray is gonna join me momentarily. College real quick we posted plays a bunch of place on. Espn dot com chuck section. There's some interesting plays them. Fade the mac with both bowling green and macaroni. Not being that big of underdogs. All things considered did okay last weekend with some of our guests place throughout the summer. But we're gonna we're going to do a lot more. Nfl on this thursday. We are going to have some college talk in the future. But obviously with the season opening i want to get murray here. Get some futures discussions and things along those lines and of course. We'll wrap things up with the baby bankroll bananas so change in name but not a change in content kicking is for losers at the sweet sound of the meeting call for mr executive director john murray and that means the. Nfl season is here. How are you sir. i'm good you know. I can't spend every weekend for the rest of by life at del mar. I have to at some point. I have to come back here to las vegas and book these. Nfl games and talk about them with people like you. But i'm excited when i got. I got bored august. I'm ready for football. I'm ready for the nfl to start. Del mar was awesome. We got to hang out together. But you know each made separate trips as well and you're right there. We are spoiled that we enjoy our jobs and we get to talk about sports betting for a living and obviously you're you operate behind the counter as well. It's good to get the action back. We got a little taste of college and now the nfl is here. I guess in general with the lines of week one being up all summer very different obviously throughout the season although you guys have games of the year. But i'm just saying the majority of the money that comes in we've seen some line moves that are interesting whether it be. The aaron rodgers unknown the seattle indie game because of carson wentz injury. And we've seen this number move as well from six to eight and a half nine. Are you gonna hit nine. Maybe teaser protection. What are we looking at here. I think it's very possible. You'll see some nine or nine here at the west gate super bowl. I've seen nine starting up at a few of the more respected short books couple. The books here nevada. I've got nine nine half out there right now. Don't be surprised if he goes to goes higher than eight. And a half. Year teasers teaser. Starting with tampa bay and it just feels like every moneyline parlay in the world starts with the tampa bay buccaneers tonight. Zack martin arguably the best player cowboys out coverted. That's a big blow. That was part of the reason. The line moved up. It reminds me a little bit of a kansas city. Ringling game it was on a thursday night i wanna say four years ago maybe five years ago kansas city won that game in new england and they knocked out all the money like our allies. And all the teasers and it was our biggest win of the entire. Nfl season and it was the first game of the nfl season. I don't think it's going to be that big tonight. But it's it's it's building. It's building to a very big liability. I think the books all over the country are going to be rooting for the cowboys. Big time tonight. There's no college game tonight right. Some we see that in sports whether it be a championship game tonight. Obviously it's opening night but we'll see other other leagues other sports kind of defer to whoever's deserve that prime spot and the severe a lot of respect a lot of kissing of the ring of the nfl letting them be although we do have baseball and one wnba game. But so that's interesting. So why don't you guys just go to nine because the teaser protection. Why not is it does not that many teasers. Now you guys have adjusted the juice. It's not. There's not as many teasers here for us because we do have pretty high teaser. Juice to guard against that very situation. We may decide to go to ninety here. We're we're we're kind of waiting to see you. Don't wanna go to nine nine and a half to early then i of your really sharp groups from take that nine nine and a half just because we've got some liability doesn't mean we just want to give away potential profits to wise guys that that's not That's not the end but we might get to a point where we decide okay. This liability is so great. It's time to raise it up. It's time to dump some money off the game but you know we're talking nine thirty in the morning here on the west coast to the start for about eight hours right. So there's really no reason to panic. We have with the with the phone accounts. Now you can write the money you want at the very end. You don't need to worry about it this earlier today. There's a long way to go before the game starts. But i'm looking at my screen right now and it's it's getting pretty big. We've got we have three times as many tickets on the tampa. Bay buccaneers as we do on the second most bed team of the week in the nfl this week. Which is the san francisco. Forty niners the liability on the bucket huge. Let's get to the niners. Because that's a very popular teaser. Would imagine. I've given it out on daily wager bonk. I also like that with the sunday night game. The rams how.

I wonder how as genre you translate the physical drama of tennis onto the page. You have to say. I've always thought that it was great to have a job that you can never quite Perfect or master and this is certainly one of them because you can always find a way to make another phone call or choose a better metaphor or a better description. So i think that is. The time is daunting and frustrating. But it's also inspiring because you can get better at this and so trying to get better in my mid fifties having done this for thirty plus years and all that all those road trips that you described takes awhile to sam. But i rogers case tennis can be challenging to write about. Because there's so much there's so many points and the points are relatively short and matches can last a long time. So i think you instead of getting readers blow by blow. You really have to synthesize and to find a way to capture the moment captured. The match is through Sending them up in terms of their style of play and the things that really come across from a visual standpoint. You're sitting there in the stands. Let's continue our preseason week. One takeaways can projecting them into week one of the regular season so we talked about atlanta. Potentially being an over team right not just week one against valley. But i think they could be an over team basically the entire season now. That doesn't mean that every game is gonna go over. Totals could adjust. They might end up going under. I just think they're going to be a team. That's going to give up a lot of points going to have to score a lot of points as far though as the side is concerned though for week number one where atlanta's a three and a half point favorite. I don't want to say the wrong teams favor. Because i think atlanta should be favored in the game i. I'm starting to think though that anything above a field goal. Like i'm definitely going to bet on philadelphia. Now i know you can obviously matt ryan rethink matt. Ryan is going to be better than jalen hurts the season. I don't know that that's one hundred percent. I mean arts is obviously unknown but for now. Let's say that ryan is better than hurts. Atlanta has the advantage at quarterback. Atlanta has calvin ridley. He's great kyle pits. He should be great right. I i would actually take the eagles. Entire receiving core as a whole over. Atlanta's right words calvin ridley russell. He's the worst of that. Oh, my gosh. Jamie. What makes you nervous? No matter how many times you've done it, taking my three year old to public restroom. Oh, yeah. I can get dangerous in there. Right? Well, I mean, you never know what you're going to get. You have a boy or girl of a boy. Okay? I was in the restroom the other day, And this has cracked me up because I think every dad has gone through this and this is kind of off topic of it. But I saw Dad might have been Disneyland. I saw Dad in there. With his son. His son is, you know, three or whatever. And he's got his son. Using the urinal in little boys would just drop trowel. I mean, right down around their little ankles, And there's this tiny little bum just up against the urinal, and it's every dad has gone through that with his kid becomes a point where they don't drop trowel anymore. I don't know what that is, but I'm just dying, laughing like Yep. In there, buddy. When they're that small. Do you have to pick them up to you? Zero? No, they have lower ones for little kids. Lot of plates placed like Disneyland have a smaller one student sub like that. Yeah, well, I don't have the luxury of having a urinal in my bathroom. I know. And so he's too short to stand right now. So and he just got potty trained just before he turned three, maybe February. I still have them sitting down, and so I just I dread it every time and then especially. We took a flight to Hawaii, Um, in May last month, and I was really nervous to have to use the airplane bathrooms with him. But I was lucky enough. The six hour flight both ways he didn't have to use the restroom. Oh, my guess what a miracle. That is, right? Yeah. I was really thankful for that. What a miracle. You know he can stand up on the toilet seat and shoot it straight down from there to have you tried that I am not responsible for teaching him and then peace. Don't you can hold him and the stands on the toilet seat and then shoots it down in between. Yeah. I don't know that. I I mean, I just get nervous. What's the worst that's going to happen? Yeah, Jamie, Thanks for calling and have a great day. Okay? You two.

"On with them personally, in terms of his what it looks to be a clear increase in in his way. I'm not sure what's happening there. But It's a chemistry driven league. They obviously got to get on the court together and get some wraps. But it comes down to it. And Nuggets fans are gonna hate this. But when it comes down to it, really don't matter. The Lakers win the title again. They're just far and beyond the best team out there. Yeah, they've got enough to incredibly hot start. Are you worried about the Nuggets at all? I am. John Murray's not been off to a great start, and they're They're kind of missing that depth, especially not Michael Porter. Junior's Got to get back. Dealing with some covert. Yokich obviously is on fire, but it's not been enough. I think they need Jamal Murray to get more consistent. They gotta find a bit more consistency, with the three point shooting and there and especially their defense, their defensive struggle big time, But I think I think it's interesting Trade deadline acquisition could could put this team over the top in terms of being a contender, but Consistency is going to be the biggest problem, the biggest downfall, but we just We saw it happen with defense in the postseason with him last year, I know that can think and rebound, but obviously a couple 31 miracle comebacks that something is not something one account on, so they need to add some depth. They're missing Jeremy Grant a bit probably not as much, but still the depth and the defense is an issue. Okay, last one here for you, Anthony Rod, and this is on the Broncos and the higher of George Payton. Today. Now, most people seem very excited about this. All right. So most people seem pretty excited about this. What do you think about the higher and you get your call it your final shot here. What would you like to see him do a quarterback this year? I love the George Payton higher. We we've seen across all platforms today that everyone is nailing. It is a home run higher. I think they can definitely bring in all Star staff around Peyton to be successful. Peyton has clearly made it clear over the years that he has been ah, hot commodity that he wasn't leading Minnesota He was gonna leave Rick Spielman side. Unless it was for the right job. So for him to make that declaration for him to silence the Broncos band Doubters out there who are saying Oh, you're going to come in and being away puppet. Are you really not gonna have to control He was only going for the right job. He sat down with the Broncos brassy deemed it is the right job. He has the voting vote of confidence and what this organization wants to do. So it's a home run higher all around. In terms of quarterback Drew lock is the guy next year. I really do think that you need to give Drew like another year in this offense. Give them the consistency. Give him all these weapons back all the injured players let him ride one more full season and make a determination. After that. Let Peyton see a full season in front of his eyes. I don't know. Look at the tape and analyze what he wants to see from throughout the season, but let him let's see playing out on the field one more season. On. I think with all the injured players coming back in one more year with Shermer, hopefully a full off season after covert hopefully goes away. We can get Drew lock with a full off season. I think it's going to be successful and if not George Payton. I think he's going to have the right tools to be able to to reset and and make this team his own if locks, not his guy, but I believe in what will injure lock for one more full season. Very reasonable. Anthony Rod, We appreciate you, brother. Thank you, gentlemen. It's been a pleasure as always, and I will continue to listen. No, I appreciate that at Anthony Reid 33 makes you are following him as he heads off into a new career. But we obviously really appreciate all his contributions to the show. And that very reasonable Take. I love that He didn't end on some kind of contrived hot. Take Says. I blow it all up. And I would. Yeah. Shawn Watson. That's what I was. I was like, if you will end it on that. Would have been just just a little off course turned. Yes, little or no doubt. All right. Great. Great stuff there from Anthony Raj Chad Bar with.

How Kim Jong Un is 'playing' President Trump

"Well. It's been more than a year since since Donald Trump and Kim Jong UN at Singapore and a month since they meeting on the North Korean side of the demilitarized iron. This is the first time a sitting U._S.. President has has ended the hermit kingdom. It was an extraordinary visual as president trump took the final steps north toward the line separating north and south South Korea a smiling Kim Joan walking briskly to meet him the first time a sitting American president has ever stepped foot inside the reclusive estate another handshake before the cameras will historic events to be sure but the jury is still out true Pyongyang has released U._S.. Hostages halted nuclear and until last week missile tests and signaled a willingness to at least talk about denuclearization. It's is a far cry from two years. AGO is an remember trump's foreign fury threats North Korea best not make any more threats to the united rated states they will be met with fire and fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never ever seen before thank you or rocket man's provocations rocket man should have been handled a long time ago the little rocket man. We're going to do it because we really have. No Oh choice in data one point North Korea's foreign ministry even warned Australia was coming within the range of the nuclear strike that said Pyongyang Anyang has hinted it might resume nuclear and missile tests if the U._S. South Korean military exercises continue well. Let's get an update on North Korea as well as its thirty five year old dictator from N._F._l.. Field She's been in Asia correspondent for the Washington Post and before that the Financial Times terms for several years she's being closer than almost any journalist to the North Korean regime having visited there regularly over the past fifteen years recent book is called the great successor the secret rise and rule of Kim Jong UN as published by John Murray when my colleague Hamish Macdonald Interviewed Food and a few weeks ago I actually rushed to the bookstore and I bought a copy of it and I have to say it's an absolutely outstanding book. Anna welcome to between the lines are thank you very much. Tell them what a great introduction. Don't do it often but it's very good now. Pyongyang's last nuclear test was nearly two years ago it lasts launched a long range missile all in November two thousand Seventeen Tissot a few short range weapons since then Donald Trump would say that's that's gripe progress. Isn't it yeah I mean He. I would say that that's great progress. I mean certainly as you said it's a shop change from where we were two years ago but I think this is all very tactical from Kim engines perspective and really he's been in the driver's seat the whole time he has been calling the shots here so through two thousand seventeen he was firing missiles at seemed like every second day he conducted these two nuclear tastes including one that was a demonstrably a hydrogen bomb and then in when he was ready at the end of November two thousand seventeen when he said he'd completed his nuclear program he was signaling that he was ready to. I'm back on this charm offensive that we saw over the course of last year and that's because he feels like he's in a position of strength now he he's showing that he's made astonishing progress with missiles and nuclear weapons and he wants to be seen now as the responsible and respected leader of a nucleus date and of equivalent to Donald Trump and she's paying and let me a potion and that's where we're at now in Washington has made it clear that it wants Pyongyang to make concrete steps steps towards denuclearization before it's willing to as I sanctions that limit North Korea's tried but you know until recently the consensus was that Kim Jong Hoon was was really a madman because he really wanted these nuclear weapons. is He really crazy. He has not crazy he has coldblooded and ruthless but he is definitely not a rational not a nutjob as president trump wants colt him and you know to point to the evidence for that is the simple fact that he he is still in power almost eight years on he's defied all the expectations that he would be too inexperienced and too young to take over this this regime and he's done it by acting in a very rational strategic way <hes> to take control of North Korea so a part of that is embarking on this nuclear program which enabled him to both fend off the outside world as well as kind of a AH show strength internally give the general something to be proud of gives the ordinary people something to be proud of and they are proud of it. North Koreans have told hold me that there are especially proud that have managed to do something that <hes> South Korea and Japan have not been able to do so this is like old pot of his is plan I think and and now the face to of that plan is this charm offensive that we're now into try to be seen as an international statesman to be the <hes> you know normalizing his leadership and coming out into the outside world and most of all now he's turning to the economy and trying to develop L. at North Korea's very very backwards and decrepit economy because he knows that that's where his legitimacy could have trouble that if he is not able to show the people of North Korea that life is getting better under his leadership he may begin to have trouble keeping crowded you along kimes primary goal here is survival but let me put this to you. Anna surely the only way the North Koreans Happens <hes> no way whatsoever that he feels he needs them for his security. <hes> you know when he was taking over just two months before he took over the leadership of North Korea Moammar Gaddafi was dragged out of a ditch and Libya and beaten and killed in a very brutal way that must be seated on Kimberlin's uh-huh brain that this is what happens to a leader who strikes a deal with the United States to give up their nuclear capability so I cannot say anyway he would relinquish everything but I think he may relinquish. Something and I actually think president trump's doing the right thing here. It is time to talk to North Korea because decades needs of isolating North Korea have not solved the problem of isolation has allowed North Korea to develop nuclear weapon so you're in agreement. He said that in the trump era it's clear that the political consensus consensus including in Washington it's come around so trump's view that talking to North Korea is a good thing but could trump shift the consensus further if he decides Washington can actually live with a nuclear North Korea well. I'm not sure that Washington has come round. There are many detractors in Washington and of president trump's approach and many skeptics about denuclearization but I do think that this current phase is the right approach to be taking because we should be engaging with North Korea. There should be some progress here. You know maybe they can't get them to give up his nuclear nuclear weapons that you know they can get him to stop firing them. That could get to stop threatening them. You know if there was more engagement with North Korea the people of North Korea would have more exposure go to the outside world be able to open their eyes to the truce which they get precious little off in North Korea so there are lots of benefits to be had there that you you know not necessarily denuclearization per se that is a very very tough thing to reach but there's a lot of wiggle room between nothing and full utilization so Kim plying trump here. He's he is getting all the attention but he's conceding nothing yeah in many respects. He is playing trump. I mean trump is waxing facing lyrical about Kim jong-un explaining why the human rights abuses talking about how they fell in love assures an opinion that Kim Jong UN does is not share Kim's on pragmatic about it but can learn his won him over without having to do anything at all other than show up. You know it's old style. Dale no substance so the question is how long Kim Jong and can continue to string donald trump along like this. He knows that Donald Donald Trump is a very unconventional American president. He's unlikely to get anybody else like him again. So if Kim Jong UN is going to cut any kind of deal he needs to do it while Donald Trump is power and actually one of the things I discovered in the course of reporting this book was that the North Korean diplomats in New York had actually gone to visit a very very famous Korean fortuneteller in Manhattan to us as president trump would be reelected. That's how concerned they are but how good is the word of the United States because as as you will know the George W Bush administration did a deal with Gaddafi that he relinquishes nuclear program and yet Bush's successor. Obama helped sleet if it's to topple Gadhafi well. That's why I think that Kim Jong will never give up his nuclear weapons because that's the thing about democracy right we change. Litas is so he cannot be assured than whoever succeeds Donald trump whenever that is will stick to the same line so yeah. He's not giving those up. My guest is n._F._l.. I feel she's the author of the great successor the secret rise and the rule of Kim Jong on intriguingly the U._S. subtitle for the book is the divinely perfect perfect destiny of brilliant comrade Kim Jong Un. Let's turn to your book because clearly this is a secretive and paranoid regime that makes it very difficult to find reliable information about king John on now based on your research including interviews with defectors and members of the family. What can can you tell us about Kim. Yeah I sit out to talk to every person who never met him are to be able to put together this portrait of him and the picture that emerged this child is person who lived such an ebb normal antisocial life came from such a dysfunctional family emily. There's really no way he could've turned out any differently from the ruthless person we see before us today as a when he it was growing up in North Korea's little princeling he lived a life of absolute luxury but also of isolation in these royal compounds that scattered around North Korea he had xbox games or whatever the equivalent was then and imported food and watched movies and and his own zoo his father had a car adapted for him so you could drive it when he was a small child so he wanted for nothing except for friends he had no friends he did not go to school. He had a Tutu came to the house. He didn't even know his half siblings from his father's other relationships so he he just had his only tuneful siblings. That's only at to play within that led him to latch onto anybody he could and one of the people who became a kind of playmates inmates to him when he was seven years old was this Japanese Sushi chef who I interviewed several times in Japan and he had gone into the household there and Kim John had let sean to him and he used to the shift used to take him fishing and flying kites and they listen to Whitney Houston on the shapes Walkman way back when in an <hes> you know he he really was starved for company and so then at the age of twelve he went to the Swiss capital of burn to go to school there and the idea there was that he should be able to live something of a normal life so he did go to school. He did live you know as the son of a diplomat so he was able to have friends and enjoy going swimming in the French Riviera and eating pizza in Italy and all these kinds of things that an expect hidden Switzerland's can enjoy but even there he struggled partly because of language <hes> festival studied in

"ESPN's VP irate. He's release have the Celtics with the second best percentages to both make the finals at nearly forty percent and to win the NBA championship had eighteen percent. Only behind of course, then champion warriors, Chris are the Celtics. Now the biggest threat to the wars. This will come off as a completely Homer opinions. I cover, but I absolutely feel that way. And what I think is interesting is that we only saw them healthy for such a short glimpse last season and not just five minutes in the regular season where they actually look very good out of the gate. Their offense looked really Chris, but during training camp, you just saw there was supposed to be this time where we're going to take awhile for all to come together.

Kawhi Leonard seeks trade from San Antonio Spurs - NBA

"Plus we got the blonde and pouring which demarcus cousins so you know it's really interesting just let's start with kawhi leonard because that was the news of the day yesterday the rumors about him wanting to be traded it's not a surprise after what happened this season but you know the spurs you know or not like any other franchise in the nba usually the players run on the show in san antonio popovich runs the show ila marcus aldridge wanted to be traded last year that didn't happen with most of the teams i would assume i get traded because it's the spurs because if you don't then you're cupboard is bare like moving forward i you look at like oak indiana last year indiana they traded paul george and rebooted their organization around all the deep on off you're going to get a player as good as olivia but you should be able to because better player than paul george but it helps reboot their organization if you let this guy walked for nothing you gotta start with with john murray maybe is the guy that you're buildings organization around and i i don't see how that would that would be good for san antonio so i think they're putting the spot where they need to deal and then because of the desire to go to los angeles maybe it limits what you can get back for him i boston has all these assets but his boston going to risk a team that got one game away from the nba pharmacist past year for kawhi leonard you could walk after the season and then say you give up jalen brown you don't have him moving forward so i think it limits what they can get that yeah i think both boston and the lakers a fascinating situations because you know the thought is obviously if if he goes to the lakers and they get rid of the lou all dan contract and maybe lebron paul george joined him there i don't know what the rest of the team looks like but you'd have those three stars however boston which you.
