Edwards allowed Minnesota to carry a ten point lead into the final period. Kyle Anderson had 23 points, and Nathan knight had a ten off the bench for the wolves. It was a disastrous end to an O one 5 road trip for the grizzlies, who lost Steven Adams, Desmond Bain and John contra to injuries on Friday. Memphis wasted a triple double by John Moran, 27 points, 11 assists, and ten rebounds. Dylan Brooks added 17 points. I'm Dave ferry.
Dak Prescott played the game of his life when the Cowboys needed it most | Opinion
"AP sports. I'm shek Freeman. The Dallas Cowboys dominated in the final game of super wild card weekend, won their first road playoff game since 1995 in a 31 14 trouncing of Tampa. Cowboys quarterback dak Prescott through four touchdown passes, coach Mike McCarthy says Prescott executed the game plan. You know, the play call and we just really stay true to what we wanted to do in here and I guess I thought he played extremely well. In the NBA Jason Tatum with 51 points in Boston's one 31 18 win over Charlotte. 51 is big, but you know, we played as a team. And I think that's what's been really big for us to use 6 or 7 games that we've been winning drew holiday had a season high 35 in Milwaukee knocked off Indiana one 32 one 19. It was Cleveland besting New Orleans one 13 one O three. Steph Curry had 41 in Golden State's one 27 one 18 win over Washington. "Year, and whatever happened in the front office there, which we still don't know. And then he was going to get the next job and then didn't get the next job. The Celtics quietly have been great, but they have no pulse nationally. It's like, what can you talk about with the NBA? Well, you always can talk about the Lakers because it's LeBron. And I understand that, but still there are other stories out there that people aren't even covering. John Moran is going to get some attention. Zion is played pretty well. Luca, the Greek freak, but it doesn't feel like any of those names, teams, resonate, nationally. It still comes back to this is a league that has been hinging on publicity through the Lakers. But the Lakers will be on national TV and for no reason other than they're the Lakers. Yeah, Paul. The Celtics are interesting because you never think of Jason Tatum and jaylen Brown is great three point shooters. They're good. They both shoot 35%. But then their bench guys, like Al Horford's shooting 50% from three. Malcolm Brogdon, 47% Derek white, 45, and they were in the finals last year. They seem to be improving. The emea DOCA story is nuts about there's nothing new on it. You know, he lost jobs in two months and where's the rest of the baggage? You know, when people say, well, what do you do with this roster with the Lakers? LeBron signed that two year 97 $1 million contract extension. And what are you going to do? Trade Anthony Davis. I would have. I would have done that a long time ago if I could have. But he's playing well maybe now's the time you trading because he's playing well. And he's healthy for the most part. But would I bank on Anthony Davis? Given me 75 games this year, 70 games this year, 65 games this year, probably not. Just feels like. That's Anthony Davis being Anthony Davis. Yeah, more. Is there a team in the NBA that we should all really be paying attention to right now? Well, Boston. But no, you're just not going to. Right. I mean, Boston is 17 and four. Yes, you know, what you said, like you would have traded Anthony Davis a long time ago. If you could have, and I was like, yeah, that totally makes sense.

"The second night of the back to back. But those type of games you just have to find a way to gut it out. The results the most important piece. We were able to get enough stops late, making a plays on offense to just keep it bay, but I'll take the win. That's four straight wins. In fact, for the wizards, Edinburgh Bradley Bill, they hope to have him back Wednesday for the wizards, no job for the grizzlies brother, no John Moran Desmond bane last night. Style points capitals didn't have them and they lost 6 three to the lightning in Tampa. Lars Eller didn't like the attitude. Our attitude out there has got to reflect that we're fighting for our lives and today we were just casual kind of almost a little bit arrogant. I don't know where that came from. Women's basketball Maryland defeated fordham on the men's side. George Mason over American Virginia tech beat William and Mary and Howard, a winner against gallaudet. "I'm amazed that people who get paid to watch this are surprised with what they see. Ben Simmons is not changing any time soon. No. What? No. How is it John Moran can all of a sudden learn how to shoot threes in the off season, but Ben Simmons can't figure out how to shoot free throws in two years. I just can't just put in the work. There's a fear of failure that Ben Simmons has. That John Moran does not have. There are certain players who aren't afraid to fail. And you have to have that mentality. You have to go out there and John morant, we kept thinking, well, if he adds, some kind of respectful jumper is going to be unstoppable because you've got to pick your poison. And he's a good three point shooter this year, shooting 45%, I think, from three. Now, granted, shooting maybe 5 a game, but he's not afraid to fail. Ben Simmons is afraid to fail. But to me, not knowing anything about either of them, right? One of the guy who is more confident and not afraid to fail is probably the guy putting in the work. And the guy who's afraid to fail and not confident probably isn't putting in the work. I kind of the way that that stuff works. I get the feeling Ben Simmons just thinks that he's granted stardom. You know, when people go, hey, he's an all star. Okay. He does have talent. He was the number one pick in the driveway. People are like, man, he can play defense. He can pass. He can, yes, that's what he's been able to do. And I'll go back to LSU when I said on this show, when I watched him play, I think he's shooting with the wrong hand. And people said all you're crazy. I still think he's shooting with the wrong hand. Yeah, Mars. With John Moran and Ben Simmons, I think all you need to know is that John morant got Murray state to the tournament and LSU didn't go with Ben Simmons. And he was the number one pick in the draft. Great point.

"Didn't fall. And like you said, bob, like the old Doc Rivers adage. It's a make or miss league. They made him a game to period. So the key for the Celtics to pull off the upset, which it would be an upset, is move the ball and grant Williams has to continue to contain the freak. If this is the real, you know, but I think that's when I think we're free stopper. We need a shirt. Grant Williams, the freak stopper. Well, but just in general, it turns out him playing the way he's playing is really been a bonus. And you know, so well, the three days now to get, you know, for both smart and brown, whatever is with brown, who he may said he wasn't worried. I think he said that he made that. He played a ton of minutes at that point. I know people were a little concerned. He didn't seem concerned that he tweaked it, anything significant. Okay, so let's go as we wrap up the Celtics. Let's move on and this will include Tatum a little bit, but I think I can't remember it was Jeffrey bob on the text chain, but the three young guns. So Tatum and ja last night with 47 holy cow, my God. I mean, what? The dude is a freaking blast. All I got to say is like, you want to watch some fun TV. Yes. I mean, I would sit there and say, would you rather watch John Moran the fourth quarter or The Avengers? And right now I'm taking John Moran. I mean, holy crap, bob. He's already reached a level where you're not surprised. No. You're not surprised. 47, okay, yeah, okay. That's good job. You know, and that's what he can do. You know that's what he can do. I have a question. Just in general, and let me just jump right to the chase with them, Jeff. Can you see the Memphis Grizzlies holding a Lombardi trophy in 2022? No. Okay. No, I'd be shocked. I would be shocked. I still don't think John's got enough around him. I say Lombardi, trophy, Larry, we knew what you meant, Larry O'Brien. I don't, I don't think they win it, but again, the healthiest team, we've talked about it. That may play in here down the stretch, so let's see if these, you know, I just don't, I don't think members, the end of the day, I don't think they're going to be able to close out a team with a culture like Golden State has with Steph and clay. My God, I mean, you know, at this stage of the game, I don't generally leave my house, but I get on a plane and I go to Memphis and hang on a Beale street to watch a game. And I love Beale street, man. I love that town. So probably you could say the same thing about Luca, right, guys. Luca.

"He could go out for 40 points. Well, he had a bonehead defensive play at the end too. Yeah, but he could possibly do the next game. But I think Memphis Memphis is a. You know, there are a team with a bullet. Their team to watch and look at the future is good. If they could keep this group together, I think they're going to and obviously they're excited. We knew before the series, this was targeted, could be a fireworks series. And it has been, you know, to that degree. It was something we had fireworks series. You get the job, the job, though. I mean, boy. All right, so give me now. Give me now. They asked me this last night on NBC Boston, not a list of top 5. But give me your top 5 players in the NBA today. I know it's hard as hell, bob. But they asked me to Tatum. In the top 5 today. I thought I would number one. Number one is Giannis. I do that, right? Don't overthink it. Number one is Giannis. Number two healthy. End of top 5, also in a top 5 healthy is embiid. Yep. Agreed. Okay. Yo, kitsch. The three somewhere in there. I'd say Moran? And right now, Tatum putting Tatum had a KD. Right now? Yeah, right now. I don't know about your decade younger. Well, your kitchen's problem is defensively. That's the problem for joke it's defensive. Well, you're right. If they played the offense sequence thing. If Katie replaces anybody, it's jokic. Okay, they placed the offense defense thing for people who don't know, which at that level is really a rare to see, but they saw it. They get them out of the game and the last minute they were playing that which you see in college, a lot of them. Well, bob, I want to get back to something you mentioned. You wanted to mention Trey young. I mean, when we saw John Moran and Trae Young, they kind of came on the scene together. Yeah. Now, I mean, I don't think you can compare the two. I could tell you that. It's going to be a lot of soul searching. I mean, we'll get to him. But there's no, how can you compare the two right now based on what we just saw? Last night, before as a microcosm, the difference, here's the difference for me is trace such a liability in the defense and if he's not making shots he's killing you. Where ja is so athletic and bigger and stronger, even if he's not making shots from three, he's going to be able to take it to the basket and finish. Number one and defensively, he's not great, but he's not a liability. And that's where to meet Tatum gets in the top 5 is because of all those guys we talked about, he might be the most well rounded of any player in the NBA round. Give me a more well rounded player than Jayson Tatum. Giannis..

"john moran" Discussed on The NBA Show
"All of this stuff is like, how does the one player impact the whole and how does the whole impact the one player and we try to reduce it down to this little thing, but it is about how do you solve it and how do you use the pieces that are at your disposal to solve any problem? And I love that you use Giannis for this because to me, that was the story of last year's playoffs. And it manifested itself so beautifully in the closeout game 6 where Giannis had to do all of the things, all of them, that he couldn't do. So I was like, can you hit your free throws? Well, you're going to have to. If you want a championship, you're going to have to go 1719. He hit the three. You're going to have to because they're going to be sinking off of you. And it was so cool. So that's what I love about sports that I see yoke. He's not fully there. Like he still got a couple more check marks, namely, to me, vocal leadership. But number two, that killer part where it's like, he doesn't always get up for Carl and talents in town. He doesn't always get up for that. He doesn't always get up for whatever reason. He's like, hey, I'm just going to play my game and I'm going to leave the court or whatever. And they'll still win or whatever, but there's a part of me that thinks, do you want to take that personally? And you also have to tell your teammates like, hey, that guy, I heard what he said. I heard what he said, he's the MVPA. I heard it. Just watch me in the first quarter and know that I got this. And I think that's there's an important thing. It's not like hubris, you could take it too far where you make things too much of a one on one, but there's this level of just making sure your guys always see that you got this. And he's getting there. It's getting closer and closer each month, really. So, man, I want to stay on that because I remember we had Michael pina on of Sports Illustrated after he did this really dope feature of John Moran and just being around the team and you got a real great sense of how the people in and around the organization feel about John Moran and you know the answer is they fucking absolutely adore the guy and rightfully so. What's your sense of how the guys feel about yo kitchen his position within the organization and just as a bona FIDE superstar in the league. They all stand this guy. And it's funny because not everything that happens in Denver makes it outside. I'll tell you a story Austin rivers told where he was going off on yoke and just how crazy is is he said yoke was one time. He comes in the practice court yolks working out on the main court. And when Austin rivers came in, he bumped over to the side courts like, hey, you can work over here. I'll go over here and he's just like, I'd never seen an NBA player do that. Now this stuff can get overstated and I don't want to be the guy. He's the most humble dude. Play the card you were talking about earlier. But there is something to yoke where he's just like, doesn't care about all those things. I honestly think there is a little bit of, he's from a small town in Serbia. He's not from even Belgrade, like the big cities from a small town. And I think there's this part of him that views all of the marketing American marketing machine, you know, where you always have to be selling something. I think he looks at that and it's just like, this is so foreign to me. This is so weird. Like I don't ever, he doesn't do ads. He doesn't have social media. And I think a lot of that is because he's just like, man, I just want to play basketball. And I know for me, the way that works is if I just develop these two man games with everybody on the team differently and so I think they all adore him. They all know he makes them better. And they all stand in. So we got the news today or it circled out that there's a sense that neither Michael Porter junior nor Jamal Murray will be back for the postseason. So what's your sense about the plan going forward? I feel like they're pretty invested in this core. And I think rightfully so. What's your sense about where how they feel about things going forward, especially with Porter in the back? Yeah. I think there's only one takeaway you can have if you're the nuggets on this season. Like one real overarching, how do we build our team? And that is that they have to get better perimeter defense. I mean, as much as they miss Jamal Murray, he's not the defensive stopper. You mentioned Monte Morris will Barton, Austin rivers. None of those guys are guys that you look at and say, hey, they got Steph Curry round one. Somebody's got to make his job tough. They just don't have that guy. So to me, I think you look at it and you say, Chicago was such an interesting team this year because they had Lonzo Ball Alex Caruso, I would assume with all these great perimeter defenders and when they were all healthy, they were a great defense, even though lucid was their anchor, right? Exactly. And I think you have to look at that and say, is rim protection in today's NBA. The way these guys have really figured out the pick and roll and how to score. Is it as much about how you can get through and contest shots on the perimeter get through screens and contest on the perimeter and does Denver have the horses to do that. My answer would be a resounding no, you probably got to add one maybe two guys in your back court, which means you got to lose one or two guys in your back court, you know, to kind of replace. I think they have to do that going forward so when Jamal's back, I think yo kitchen Jamal are all you need on offense. You just need a bunch of plug the rest of the guys in. I agree. You got to put the defenders around those two. What's Denver 6th in the offense this year without those two guys? You get those guys back, you're going to be freezing. So, and I do want to talk about Michael Porter because he's important. Like they gave him that huge ass deal, all the guarantees. This isn't even like, you know, incentive laid in games played yada yada yada. Huge guarantees 14 that let's face it, Adam hasn't always been, you know, daddy warbucks here. They've been very frugal in the past, so I wonder what the optimism is with his injury. And I think it bears repeating as much times as off of my old colleague John hollinger said, when he was with the grizzlies, Michael Porter junior's medical was the worst that he had ever seen. That's an insane statement. And so how optimistic is the team really? Do you get the sense that it's just lip service or because you can't say that this asset that you have is completely depressed or do they really feel like they got a program with this guy and he's going to come back reasonably healthy? It's so tough because I mean, I think when you talk about an asset, you're talking about can you trade a player? Like I just don't think they're going to sink or swim with Michael Porter. I don't think any other team is going to actually look at him and say it's going to work. The thing about him is he's a 44% volume three point shooter at 6 foot ten, 6 foot 11 with a 45 inch vertical. Like the guy has, that's his game. He shoots well, he's super athletic. He's super tall. You really can't like Kevin Durant, you can't contest his, you know, his jumper. So when he's available, he provides something that that's really, really valuable..

"So I don't understand this. I made the case with John, and I don't think you should win. And I don't think he should be top three, and I probably have dropped him now past the top 5 at this point. What I think is really weird is that there's this whole thing about jaws miss games. And Lucas played after this weekend, 5 more games. That's it. Yeah. 5 more games. And Josh is probably not coming back this week. There's no real reason for him too. They've locked the two seed. But look is also probably not going to be ten. I'm assuming Luke is going to play the whole week. I don't think he is. Because I think they're probably going to lock four. Okay. He walks four, it becomes like 7, which is a gap for sure. It's almost 10%. He's a 210, 250 minutes, something in there. It matters. It's just been very weird to me that there's this like John morant has missed all this time. I think that more than that though, too, it's that the grizzlies have been incredibly successful without John Moran. And that's the weird part of this conversation that I don't actually know what to do with in my brain. Yeah, this fundamentally to me gets into like how you look at the NBA regular season. And because this is a big, this is a big deal, I guess that this is a big deal with me with the yogurt thing. I'm making the argument for jokic, not based off of he missed these guys. Look at how hard it was, and instead just based off of no, regardless of who he had and who he didn't, yoga whipped ass every single night. With morant, I've always felt this way. I think it's just very strange, especially in the modern age..

"But that's not the entire season. And I, for me, a lot of it is, I care about those games in November. I care that you came into the season. We're like, we gotta get like, we gotta stay afloat and win games early on. And the ability to do that from day one to me really matters when we get into this conversation because too often it just becomes who's been really good as of late. If the season was two more months and look it kept doing what he did, that's probably enough for him to win, but it's not. And so he's in the situation he's in. The last two guys I want to mention here, and I'm sorry to Jason Tatum. I think he's probably 7th for me in this conversation. And maybe that happened 6. I might have my header the next guy. John morant has missed 20 games. And I just don't know that we can get to the point where we have John Moran this conversation having missed 20 games. So I don't understand this. I do think it's weird though to talk about what happens when a guy doesn't play. Because ultimately, he's not responsible..

"I have the Knicks on national TV, not trying to twist the knife, but please take the leakers off national TV. Please, so we can stop getting so much attention. But the dance actually just got bumped too off TV. 'cause John morant does superhuman things every night. Yes. But there's still a bunch, but there's like, there's like a heat bucks game that's on it on leak pass. I want to say it's bulls boxes on league pass this week. So make sure you get your week passed. The rest of the season. So there's some really, really awesome games coming down the stretch. And I'm gonna make a little prediction here, and I'm doing this off the cuff. I think the bulls are gonna start to really slide in the standings. Their schedule is killer the rest of the way. I mean, even in the next week or so, it is just loaded with really, really good teams. So I think there's a chance that I start to slide a little bit in this standing. Especially with the 76ers surging, winners of three in a row. They're only a game back. Yeah, they could. Still waiting for the box to kind of kick it into gear, maybe it's not going to be a thing that happens, but yeah. Yeah, I mean, the bulls are in second right now. There are only three and a half I had a Boston who's in 6th. The Eastern Conference. I'm not saying they're going to slide all the way down there, but they might be fighting for home court versus taught top seed. We'll see. They've surprised me all year, maybe. They continue to do so, but things look like they're set up for them to dip a little. They happen. It's going to be interesting how things close out, particularly in the Eastern Conference, everything is still very, very compact. But oh, hey, in John Moran. Holy cow. Oh, my gosh. What a game. I mean, they just, we can't mention it. I mean, he has that dunk. And I'm thinking, oh my God, that's the play of the night. And then he finishes off the quarter with that insane, like catch and just flip. Whatever that was. That was if you ever played the game like with your Friends growing up tip it, you know what I'm talking about. Sometimes people call it 21 or whatever, but it was basically one of those shots, right?.

"He might not play on every single back to back his minutes or limited and whatnot, but I've noticed that the totals have been a little bit higher. So when they played the calves in their last game, that line actually opened two 18 and a half with clay coming back. And I felt like that was super high considering it was two of the top defenses in the league being the cabs in the warriors. So I feel like this line again is inflated somewhat by that. I know draymond green's not in Memphis Grizzlies are hot and playing great. They're not as great on defense as the cabs are 15th. But I still think under two 21 would be a play considering the first two meetings went under as well. I'm on the Memphis side here. And big reason, of course, draymond green, we know for sure is out. He didn't even make the trip. So sportsbooks don't have to worry. Gary Payton, there's some question marks, whether or not he's going to suit up in play. So they take a big hit defensively. On the road, in Memphis, they have 9 straight wins and by the way, they're 8 and one against the spread, morant, as we know has been sensational. I know they have no Dylan Brooks. He's their number two score, but they beat the Lakers without them. So give me Memphis at home with the points. That's my play here. You have a prop that as well, right? Yes. So I'm going John morant 125 and a half points and you never want to take an under on a player like John Moran. I mean, whoever 30 points earlier in a win over the warriors in 21 in a rematch, that one was when they played at home. But John Maureen did string together 33, 41, 30, 36, to ignite Memphis, you know, franchise record 9 game win streak, which is insane and they most recently beat the Lakers. You have a player like LeBron James just complimenting John Moran, but I just think the warriors defense.

"It's time for the Simmons. We're going to the Simmons siren, a Ben Simmons trade. This was probably the easiest gift anybody could give because this is a gift for the 76ers for whatever team gets Ben Simmons. Four Ben Simmons, and for all of us, because then this trade happens and we don't have to talk about it anymore. I was going to say that's a gift for us to bed Simmons trade that finally goes down. So, yes, I agree with that one. I'm gonna go to the San Antonio spurs. San Antonio spurs get something that they haven't had before. Or at least that they rarely have had. It's a mid season trade and I'm talking about that young. That young is going to be on the move for the San Antonio spurs, and they're going to get, I don't know what, just yet, but something of value in return for that young and that young himself is going to get sent to a team where he can be on a contender. Like he's wanted. I love it, that is great. All right, the Detroit Pistons. We're gonna give you more losses. You're trying to pile them up. You're trying to get down in there to get that number one pick and deliver you that once in a generation big man. There's a couple one of those there to pair with cage Cunningham. If guys, we don't talk about the pistons a lot because they've been pretty bad, but Kate's been pretty good in his last handful of games that he's played. He's really starting to figure things out now. So to more losses, more pushing into that top four for sure in the lottery. Oh, I like that one. I like that one. It sounds weird at first. We're giving you more losses, but that is what you want. What they need. It's what they want. The Memphis Grizzlies. Let's jump over to that. The Memphis Grizzlies, we are going to give you a true appreciation for John Moran because I think this is important for their franchise. You can't be upset that he came back. You can't be telling him to go back to the bench. That's going to drive him away. So Memphis Grizzlies, you are getting an appreciation for your superstar because that's what jaw is. John morant. Absolutely. The Indiana Pacers, we're going to give you those trades that you so sorely need. We're going to break this up. We're going to pull that expired chunky lemon milk down the drain, send it out, get rid of it. We're going to start over. And we're going to keep a couple of these guys around. Malcolm Brogdon, one of sabonis and Turner, rebuild around those two and see where we're headed moving forward. I like it. I like it. The clippers, the clippers, you're getting an arena to call your own. Because we all know that most people see Staples Center now crypto dot com arena as the Lakers House.

"Sure if that is actually a confirmed just yet Obviously there's going to be a more trays that are going to happen But the way that the trade is trending it. Looks like whoa. You're saying that juancho. Hernan gomez who is with the grizzlies and we talked about him. In his ability that we saw in the olympics is being traded to the celtics. Who are sending chris done in carson edwards to the grisly. So the grizzlies seem to beginning younger. Obviously they let rondo go. They let patrick beverley go. And now they're bringing in two different Two different guards. As i'm interested to see what memphis. What their strategy is They look like they're just making a lot of swaps. A lot of trays I was very excited about carson edwards coming out college if you remember carson edwards was pretty much lining it up from behind the art. Her do and i don't know if he ever really got a chance to really play in boston. The way he played in at purdue but then again a lot of people don't get that opportunity but for the celtics Last year lease he did average about almost nine minutes per game for points Almost one rebound per game. So he didn't get a lot of plan time. Hopefully with grayson allen leaving the grizzlies amongst others maybe carson edwards and kevin dunn. Who a skinny. Chris done Who also used the play well in chicago. Hopefully this can be an opportunity for them to reenergize or just a good restart I think a lot of teams are starting to jock positions and build their depth. And i think behind john moran chris done in carson edwards as a as a pretty good start So we'll see how that goes but just a quick episode here on friday september third or four labor day. I hope you'll have a safe and happy labor day. you know. Catch the deals catch sales if you need to As well as. I know a lot of people like to grill grill safe drink responsibly..

"I also think it is instructive when we think about jaanus. How many times and especially with the draft coming up next week and how many guys that people give up on early in their careers. We decide what they are. We decide what they are going to be. Okay just keep in mind year one. Six point eight points for rebound as a rookie year to twelve point. Seven point six point seven rebounds year three seventeen point seven point seven rebounds that is the third year in the league for onto cuco with seventeen and seven since then all star every year. But you think about well. The next year was twenty three and eight and then the next two years five six seven and eight. He's never been lower than twenty-seven points per game and he's averaged over temple is right about right remember his first year winning. Mvp eight thousand nineteen people said. Should he win most improved player again right a conversation that so but keep in mind now. Think about all the guys right now. That are we've already made our mind up on by year. Three mean seventeen and seven is good. But i mean it's not. It's not a guy that scores fifty in a frigging finals. Like the guy did his in his thirty so players have gotten so good so fast. Now that now anybody that is going to have this maybe even a jaanus type trajectory. We've written them off in a way not in a way that we don't know what we know what they're going to be right or the darrow bust already. That wasn't a great pick already because we we just decide we've seen we see what trae young student we'll see. What lucas doing. We see what so many of the great young players are doing lamelo even this past year. John moran scored forty seven in a playoff game this year..

"You know. I love with gel people that sound older than they are glove death. None of that said at the john moran loved that love that is so it's really refreshing to me and also doing it in a way that james harden even earlier enlighten him. Janas kind of going back basically call it or stalker right. He's the most athletic seven footer. Basically in modern day history. He's listening to six eleven as kevin durant but their you know athletic in different ways. Kevin durant has the skill set of canada played small forward in high school. That can play one two and three. I got play four in a position game. Play five position defensively. They're different kevin. Durant can do a turnaround jump. Shot over the left shoulder from three with his foot on the line in clutch moments jaanus is going to dominate inside of that pain. And so i i applaud how he he mastered who he is as a basketball player in order for this team to succeed and one game away. Yeah one game away. Jacoby and i and i would not be surprised if this over tonight You know. I can't tell if you're junior. You're hoping for it. Because what i do know is i'm.

"All right. I'll give you a guy who was been getting more done. I saw this stat over the weekend. I was pretty much florid by it. I had no idea that this was the case in the history of the MBA. There have been four players. Who have scored 100 points arm or in their first ever three postseason games first time never make the post season could be his rookie second year, third year whenever they first make the playoffs in their first three games. They've been good enough to register 100 points plus those who had done it previous to this year included here is some all time great names, but you've got to go back in the history to be able to know. So we've got some guys listened that I'm cured. Gonna go. Who? What? Where, Um, but old school guys will certainly recognize all three of the names. The highest scorer at 100. I think it is 1 14 somewhere there about will came with when he first went postseason bound in 1960, playing for Philadelphia, second George Mike in the first true dominant big man for the Minneapolis Lakers scored 112 points in his first three playoff games ever. And third would be the player who became Kareem Abdul Jabbar. But when he did it with the box back in the late sixties, he was blue out cinder. What we had a Fort individual be able to make that claim after his first three playoff games this year. And that's John Marantz of the Memphis Grizzlies over 100 points in his first three NBA games. Didn't see that coming didn't know he was jumping into that rarefied air. Of the all time greats, and this is one of those which doesn't belong And why categories Because you've got three of the greatest centers of all time when center used to dominate the game of basketball. Then you've got this point guard scorer. Do it all great young player for the members Grizzlies in John Moran. That's a pretty great accomplishment. Yes, His team is down to one. They are the eight seed trying to take down the top seed Utah Jazz in the Western Conference playoffs, But John Moran has certainly held up his end of the bargain. And he's done so even under a little duress, with his family being subjected to some vile things said to them in the audience the other night in Utah Shame on the Utah Jazz fans. I'm glad to see those people were caught and immediately objected, But that's pretty. That's a pretty great accomplishment with John Moran. That's a guy who would definitely categorize as someone who's getting more done. And I had the play by play voice of the importance of the Utah Jazz on my show last night here on CBS Sports Radio David lock and I asked him about John Moran. Because he does it with such ease, he scores with such ease. You would think a guy of his sides, which is not very big would have a more difficult time. He's not just a guy I liked. Steph Curry, who stands outside. Makes three after three after three after three. I don't wanna knock set stop guard because he's an all time great, but we know that step get take ton of his points from beyond the arc. That's not Kalma rant. He does it by getting into the lane and being able to drive in a mid range game and coming off screens. He's got a great all around game Does John Durant I'm actually a little surprised by it needs that capable of doing it. I mentioned this. I think we're Saturday night here on CBS Sports Radio, a little little disappointed by the Jazz defense by basically all the teams that have played the Medford's grizzly this year because a key element to John Durant and I've seen enough of these games to come up with this evaluation. He loves the spin move. He's got probably the best been moving the NBA already in year two of his NBA career is already developed The best spin move I think if it's well defensed, and you can see it coming, you can get a sneaky double on top of that and be able to get the ball it would not come up with steals, at least get the ball out of his hands. Utah hasn't been able to do it. Maybe I'm judging too harshly from afar that it is a move that could be defense. Maybe just so good at it that you can't depend it. He's been good enough at it to get 100 points in his first three games in the postseason, his postseason career on Lee, three other players perform all time greats All Hall of Famers. It's probably a pretty good track that John Moran designs s O. You want talk to NBA playoffs Hit me up. A pipe 5 to 1 to 4 to 27 Matt from Arkansas wants me wants to take me up on the question Who is the prohibitive favorite in either of the two sports and a teller NBA? Maddie. How are you just wanted.
