"Heat, take a commanding 31. Siri's lead. Tyler hero was the hero last night with 37 points and you think about this tomb? We talk about rookies this year in the MBA. What's been the chatter? Zion Williamson, John Moran job? Moran, Zion Williamson and John Moran did win the rookie of the year. We know that John Moran is a very special young player, and unfortunately for the team he played for Memphis. That was a team that lost Jaren Jackson Jr. They got into that playing game. They lost the Portland and we eventually got to see Portland go up against the Lakers. It was a very good, though rookie year for John Moran, and that's a building block for the future and just a tremendous story out of Murray State and getting very like under recruited And it was his one of the assistant coaches on that Murray State staff was going to find a bag of potato chips because he was hungry, and it wasn't on the main circuit. So he went to a different court. And he saw this guy John Moran e called Matt McMahon, the coach Murray State and said, You've got to get down here. We found something. We got to go sign this kid, John Moran and then John Moran remain loyal to Murray State because other schools eventually did come calling late in the process, and he said, No, I'm going to stay with the Murray State race or so you got John Moran. Then you got Zion Williamson and Zion. We know he didn't play enough this year, but he made such an impact. A only played 19 games before the shutdown. I know when the MBA started back up, he barely played in the restart, had to leave because of a personal matter came back. Then they managed his minutes. I thought it was a poor job by the New Orleans pelicans. They should have let him played longer in the game, and Alvin Gentry is now out of a job. Then we'll have to wait and see who ends up coaching the pelicans. For the next season. But when we get through the rookie conversation, if you would have told me that a rookie was dominating in the playoffs, I would And if you would've told me the street four months ago when we were right in the start of a pandemic, and we don't have basketball back over to said, Wow, the pelicans went on a run or wow job. Moran went on the run, and I would have thought, even even if you told me that it was a rookie. Can't be John Moran. It can't be Zion Williamson because at best, they would have been an eighth seed either of those teams that they weren't taken down the great LeBron James and the great Anthony Davis in the in the first round the playoffs and to sit here now in the Eastern Conference in Western Conference finals and in the West, Michael Porter Jr. Who is a young player in this league, not a rookie, but a young player in the league. He needs to come up big for Denver, who, as Ah young player in Jamal Murray is playing very well may see what Nicole Yokich is doing. You look at the Lakers. We all know the bread and butter is the broad in a day and you see the Celtics, their young players, and I know Jason Tatum's in your three. And Jalen Brown is in your four. They haven't shown up in the final moments. And, yes, Tatum's a heck of a player. Yes, Brown is a heck of a player Last night. It was really You know, the opposite kind of of a Boston is was last night because for so many times the place we've seen Boston Goa big and then blow a lead and then find themselves in trouble. Last night, you had a Boston team. I had to come back. You know they were down and Jason Tatum at one point think it zero points in the first half, and then he exploded in the second half. There's just something where you can't get four quarters out of this basketball team consistently and let's not sugarcoat this. This a missed opportunity for Boston. This a big time missed opportunity, and I know what Brad Stevens They've been to the conference finals. Now. This is their third time. I know what Tatum there. They've been to the conference finals. This is now their second time, so I'm not totally down on the Celtics. Oh, my goodness Gracious. They're not going to be a good team for years and years to come because I do think they're going to be in the mix when you have Tatum just wrapping up his third year in the league you got Jalen Brown is just wrapping up his fourth year in the league. Campbell Walker is in your number one with the Boston Celtics. They got a good squad. This opportunity, though. It's a missed opportunities. Last two tons of these two conference finals, you run up against the cast with LeBron. You knew, even though they took LeBron to a seven game one of those years and another time they lost for one. You knew you didn't have a shot. Really? In that Siri's This was the Siri's where you were the favorite to go to the finals. And the only team that was probably in your way before the postseason started with Milwaukee and Milwaukee. You never had to beat them. As this team Miami took down Milwaukee. So let's be fair here. Yes, I do Think Boston has a nice future tto lose to this heat team, which is a team that does not have a great roster, but they just find a way to get the most out of there, guys. And their best players. Jimmy Butler, tto lose to Miami and I don't think the Celtics air coming back here. I just don't see it. It's it's It's embarrassing. It's disappointing that there is no doubt about it. If you're a Celtics fan, you should be living with this. Even though you could also probably walk away and say yes, you missed this opportunity. It does not mean though, that the future just totally evaporates, but it's gonna be tough for next year. Cause you have Milwaukee right back in the picture. People are gonna want to join Miami in this offseason. Maybe Philadelphia gets their act together. Tough to count on them. Toronto is going to be right back in the mix. And, Oh, yeah, By the way, you got this team from Brooklyn that's coming. As long as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving can stay healthy. It's just it's wild, though, when you start to get towards the end of the season. And you see our story lines and narratives change from a year ago to now. Because if we want to look back at last year Everyone was strong bouquets that co I Leonard. And the year pride or that people were saying how childless Kawai is acting how this has become such a bad story. He wants to get away from Gregg Popovich. What is he doing? This is a bad career decision. This is a bad move on his part and what happened last year? Your eyeliner people were saying usurped the throne of LeBron James when he wanted finals MVP and a championship in Toronto. Not you fast forward to this year. People go first time big pressure moment when they're expected to win because they weren't expected to win with your aunt. They weren't expected to win when Cho why was not even the guy when he won the finals MVP with the Spurs. He's finally the guy on the team going into the season. Where you think should be a championship team must be asked Paul, Georgia, I guess doesn't believe in championship or bus Uncle. I came up short and most of this was Oh, I was so good and didn't get help from other places. Even though that that Clippers team is a deep roster where you did see Kawai in Game seven. He just had the legs. He had the legs and the Nuggets seriously, 6 22. Has no one else was stepping up and making a big shot when he's going on so many games where he would score 30 40 something points. And you look at Miami and when I bring up the ebbs and flows here of Kalai Leonard like Let's look at Miami a year ago. What were people saying about Jimmy Butler? Forced his way out from Minnesota. Bad teammate goes to Philadelphia. And then he says, he's all about winning any least Philadelphia team with you all and beat him Ben Simmons for a team with Miami that doesn't have much. Yeah, I said that..

I come down to I understand John Moran played more games. But does everybody realize that points per minute?.
NBA playoff predictions 2020: Why the Lakers are unlikely to win NBA Finals, according to one model
"I'm glad that we finally are getting into like what I consider The meet of the season. The scrimmages weren't doing a damn thing for me. I could care less about the scrimmages that was for the players to get warmed up. That was to give everybody a chance to actually get something on the television screen. And then you know the eight games. I was like, whatever with a games I guess I felt like the Los Angeles Lakers, who went three and five during the eight games. Now they want to get revved up and try to win an MBA title and I get it. That's what I've been waiting for. So really, basketball is finally here. For me. It felt like a guy going over the weekend when the Portland Shura blazes one, they're playing game over the Memphis Grizzlies. John Moran went out and did what you would expect him to do. Ah, 35 points. I think he had eight assists, also had eight turnovers. He's still a young player. He's a killer. I hope he can get bigger. A little bit more devastating because he's a He's a rare combination in the MBA. He's going at your throat, but this year was not about him. Okay. This year is gonna be about who was gonna win the N BA title under an end Unique circumstances. Who's gonna walk away the N ba champion? In something and nobody would have ever thought about months ago. We actually didn't know whether or not we were gonna have a resumption of the embassies in I remember actually being on n ba TV. And when the season was shut down, I was hanging out with my main man, Channing Frye. We were getting ready to do our show and boom Rudy Gobert such positive and then Donovan Mitchell ends up testing positive and then the season shut down and nobody Back on March 11th knew what the hell was going on. And now that we got basketball back, it's real simple. It's what it is wide open. It's wide the hell open. I don't know who you could necessarily come out and say it is a favorite. Vegas right now says that the Milwaukee Bucks are a slight favorite over the two Los Angeles teams. In the Los Angeles Lakers. They haven't really had a great showing since the bubble got restarted. The offense has been mediocre. The offense has been pretty slapstick. The offense has been one of the worst in the N B A in the bubble. LeBron James. You know what you're going to get from LeBron. They sat him a game for precautionary reasons, had a growing issue but came back and everything is fine. And in the last game before the bubble he barely played got in a sweat, and they sat him down. Because LeBron James at this stage of his career, Yes, he's going to play basketball games that they're not gonna load manage LeBron James to death. But the reality is he's in it for rings. He's in it for a championship. He's in it for his legacy. Now. Unfortunately for him, he's playing what a bunch of role players that you can flip a coin and not necessarily know which direction they're going to go. Even his other superstar Anthony Davis. Needs to be more aggressive if the Lakers were gonna go ahead and make any type of move towards an MBA title. That's just the reality of it, and their opponent in the first round is not going to be forgiving. I told you that the Portland Trail Blazers have been on a roll. They have been on a run. You have. Ah, you're kitsch, who's back who missed almost all the last season of the majority of this season is well due to a leg injury. You have a rejuvenated Carmelo Anthony, who's not tasked with going out there and show shouldering the entire scoring low but can still knock down a big shot. Whether or not it's efficient or not. That's a totally different question. CJ McCollum is bowling out of control with a fracture in his back Gary Trent Junior is stepping up. So you might say that the Portland Trail Blazers at this point in time that they have more depth. That they have more of Ah street. That they're coming in with a little bit more fire in their back pocket. Even know in many cases, LeBron James to most, I would say too many is still considered the best basketball player in the league. You might say it's Yana, Santa Campo. But if I need someone to still run me to a title, I'm still looking at the guy who's done it the majority of his career and that's LeBron James. But they do have some issues and Damian Lillard he has his own thoughts about taking on the Los Angeles Lakers. Listen, what little it had to say The lady is the number one seed in the West for a reason. They got the best player in the world on a team. But at the same time we didn't fight a Zhar does before in the bubble, just they argued a sea org Anges Get beat up on. We feel like We have it. We have a chance in a serious against anybody in this league.

"Is to get better. And we did that. We approach this with the right mind set from the beginning from practices from trying to camp in Phoenix. So the 1st 2 weeks when we got down here, everybody's locked in on all cylinders. Are you aware of the Memphis sport? I'm very aware of the Memphis. All right. So now the question is how big of a Brooklyn Nets fan or you two Big Brooklyn. That's fan. Call my guy. Tyler Johnson making sure They're gonna give it their all but you know, either way, I'm still proud of this team, man. I mean, what else can you ask for us? We came down here. You know, when our chances were slim to none, and we didn't listen to any of the noise we came in. Like I said, with the right mind set locked in I want every every opportunity where you go to the game tonight. I don't think I'll go to the game. I watch Grayson Allen on the left wing lobs over the top for Vallance. Eunice Valanciunas shovels underneath for Clark, who powers it up it and it's a triple double. Jonas Valanciunas, the big man with the triple double and the Grizzlies lead 97. 74 92 9 Memphis The Grizzlies won a spot in that playing game by away that 1 19 106 went over the Bucks Jonas Valanciunas and John Moran each with triple doubles. Dillon Brooks adds 31 points Valanciunas about this line, 26 points, 19 rebounds, 12 asses. That was his first triple double. It is 559th n BA game. The Memphis in Phoenix wins Men San Antonio officially eliminated before the end of their game with the Utah Jazz. Spurs record tying run of 22 consecutive postseason appearances ending will have Mohr on San Antonio string of excellence later in the show, so it was down to Memphis playing either Phoenix Or Portland. Today..

"Really excited to watch and John Moran But we all know like he is absolutely electrifying to your point electrified. No look, passes trying to dunk on people. Superfast and just, like, remember, really early into seems like their third game. Um, seems like nine years ago, he blocked Kyrie Irving at the buzzer and just trash talk. Kyrie got in everyone's face, and then they went on to win over time, and it just had this air of like I'm ready. Like I'm not afraid of anybody. I am in this league and like so all that's awesome. But I think like He's a really sophisticated basketball player already like he makes reads. He makes those reeds where you can tell he's thinking 1/2 2nd faster than most players on the court. One of my favorite things about him, Frankly, and this is a very nerdy thing to say, is like He's a really good cutter, and he's like remains useful off the ball because I think he realizes, like my speed is a weapon this way, too. And you don't see like You can attest to this most young point guards. Most rookie point. Guards are bad because the lead is just overwhelming for them. Even guys who are going on to be good, really good players. They just can't figure out the MBA for this guy to come in an average 17 and seven. Shoot it well, take decent care of the ball and show some of that craft that I just talked about mean that is like a remarkable Well, there's no question and and look, I think his assist totals air deceiving because again, he's playing with a lot of guys who don't shoot the ball very well. Show number one. He doesn't get the space on the floor that he will get as they add more shooting and number two as defense's collapse and he kicks the ball out. These guys guys who aren't knocking down shots on a regular basis. I think as a team around him improves as other young guys get better what we're going to notice about him. Ah, bubble. Everything else's is passing. I think the guy Seize the floor. Incredibly well, I think he is, as you say, A very mature decision maker for a young guy, you know, and so I think everything is there any justice. There are certain guys that they're both their ability and their presence on the floor. Give their teammates confidence. Because with this guy, we're gonna have a chance, and I see that out of the Memphis Grizzlies already this year that hey, You know, we go out there with job. We've got a chance every single night and their play picked up over the course of the year. This guy's outstanding. The biggest reason they are where they are Now They've done a lot of other good things. Some other guys like Brandon Clark have stepped up. Jared Jackson Dillon Brooks. Has stepped up in I know he won't win it with an eighth seeded team. But as you sit down to do your ballot for coach of the year, I don't know how you do ballots. Anytime I've had to do one as a coach, right first, I just sort of List everybody who should be in consideration and then I start narrowing it down. Taylor Jenkins is at least gotta be on that list of guys. You think about what he's accomplished with this team in a short amount of time. And look, I don't know Taylor Jenkins. I've never talked to him. So this isn't me. Trying to promote my best friend or something. This guy's been unbelievable, like you see how hard they play, how organized they are the way he's maximized the skills of the guy he's he's had. He has to at least be on your short list of guys. You think about it. Individuals and businesses with tax problems. Listen carefully. Do you feel like you're losing control of your finances? If you over $10,000 in back taxes or haven't filed tax.

"Want to see the grid note. No disrespect that John Moran job. Moran doesn't sell eyes on a television set the way Zion Williamson did. We got nine games of Zion this year. I think they don't want to see him at least in one round of the playoffs. Can you imagine the opening round it Zion Williamson in the New Orleans pelicans against LeBron James in the Los Angeles Lakers, who's not watching that? Everybody's one. Thats the point. Everybody is watching that In the end, wants to see that they want to see these guys showing up. Now, here's the other thing that I found really interesting with the schedule. You know what time they start Playing games is that in the morning started nude. Noon until I believe 9 30 at night daily is when the tip offs are going to happen. You're gonna have literally basketball. It's going to be a tournament like in the N B. A We're gonna start playing basketball at noon, and the last tip off will be at 9 30 Now the people down in Walt Disney world have said, there's gonna be extensive cleaning and sanitizing in between the games. My only fear for that is do not allow obviously the court to be a little bit slippery. You don't want that to happen. But outside of that, um you're going to have Wall to wall basketball, But I'm not sure if it's all gonna be on TNT or n ba TV or whatever it may be. I'd love to think that MBA TV is going to get the rights to all of this, but how awesome Is that going to be like? Seriously? How awesome. Is that going to bay? That'll be really cool. The tournament style I think is going to be fun. My my thing is is I'm going to get used to watching basketball all day long. And then next year when we go back to the regular season is going to feel like it's not enough it ISS But after what we've been through since March, hell, they could play one game a day. And I'm good with that. I'm gonna be so excited like this will be the most excited. I've been to watch the embassy. Since the heat and don't go wrong. I love the league. I watch. I watch all the games. But my excitement level here is like LeBron heat excitement level. Not that the heat are going to win an MBA title. It's not being just fan. It's just having all of this basketball shoved down your throat at one time. But that's gonna be awesome. But when I look at the way the league balance the schedule. I think it's pretty simple. The league set it up so the pelicans could get in, and they're trying to set up their playoffs to potentially have some really good games. Now, the other interesting thing that's come out this week. There are players who have decided Nope. I'm not going to be a part of this. And you know what? I don't get matter. Some of the responses I saw Avery Bradley's Twitter you people should be put in jail and what I say you people, the people that we're talking trash to Avery Bradley, who decided he's not going to play. Trevor Rees is not going to play Davis Burton's not going to play. They said. Look, either I'm unhealthy. I've got other things to deal with. Avery Bradley's got a young child at home, and you had people on social media just blasting him for not playing. He's assigned to be home with his family. You had other place. Birch hands is a free agent who's had knee problems. He's like that I'm not playing. I'm gonna sit out going free agency in October and come back in December and go get my money. But when you got fans that are bad mouth and these players, you guys are idiots. Your fan out there That's sending angry tweets at players who are opting out of playing. You're an idiot. That's all you are. You're an idiot. You shouldn't be tweeting. They should kick you off Social media. Hell, they should arrest you for being so damn stupid. But this is what we're gonna have, and I think they have two more days to decide whether they're going to play or not, And once you opt out, you're out Once you opt in, you're in. It's going to be very, very interesting to see how teams rosters because Avery Bradley for the Lakers is a big deal. He is a perimeter defense of monster, not a great score, but he's like 10 11 12 points. A game can knock down an open jumper. And you know what? LeBron James? Dr. Kick, Dr. Kick Dr Kick. He need shooters. He needed Danny Green. He needs guys like that. Dwight Howard. I'm not sure I don't think he said one way or the other yet, but I know he's been a guy whose name has been out there. Lakers could potentially be going after J. R. Smith. LeBron's like, Come on, man. J. R. Smith. Really I know what J. R. Smith needs somebody different than J. R. Smith. But again, What is J. R Smith do knock down jumpers can score on occasion is going to play hard Might be an idiot might run the wrong way on a play, but he's going to play hard. Basketball's really close to coming back, and I quite frankly cannot wait. We come back. We've got a college football cheat sheet coming up next, a lot of stuff to dive into, including what's going on in the state of Mississippi. What's going on with Kansas State? And how close are we to football? About 60 days to talk about that? Next on ESPN Radio, Jake Azman.

Grizzlies' Ja Morant Says 'I Honestly Don't Care About Rookie of the Year' Award
"John Moran shoot around this morning. Honestly don't care about the rookie of the year. They can give it to who they want do you do you think he doesn't care about the rookie of the year war. I think he does care about the rookie of the year warrant. It just seems like something you do subconsciously. Just try to get you. I mean I think he knows. He's an elite nothing. He knows that the playoff push that his team is in China Goes hand-in-hand with the award. And it's also the right thing to say. I'm more focused on winning awards so I get it politically right But I do think that he cares more about the winning right now because he knows that they're tied together. I give Ziouani in the Pelicans Nash. Afc is going to be because Zion has this miraculous. You know second half that could win the war but he goes onto the spot. You know what I mean. Because he is going to be because he played good enough to hold onto the rookie. Where so it kind of goes hand going to answer the at the same time that we're getting from from the personally. I learned from John. Rando I could say. Maybe he doesn't at the same time he always seems like someone who pushes his peers. Even if that means that it takes a lightweight from him. I think I'm trying to find the video video. It was A. It was an article about the time they jaap played against the heat. He's being tyler hero or the heroes on the bench and he hit a shot next to the bench and he screamed at them. This is my war at tile here because this is tyler hero was season some trying to find that because I mean this would be completely a different change. My say if you went from this is my war too. I don't really care like that anymore. But were they in the playoff hunt because I know at the beginning of the season. They weren't maybe they weren't maybe they weren't but yeah he's right. It is the perfect answer. It is the perfect answer and it does go hand in hand because I think we sat on the show. Whoever wins that deserves the award.

"Against John Moran who is the best number three the defense to do the job box with two free throw line and so forth and tell not is taken by Memphis clutch basket by deer and fox G. man on the call of all right K. H. T. K. in Sacramento one thing we get to hear about Sacramento Bobby is all they're young they've got a lot of young pieces appear on fox really can be a difference maker for Sacramento well you're right I mean but the one thing that being young is eventually you know you know time starts to run out a little bit here and I think with the Aaron in year three you know certainly with with buddy Hield there that they are at expecting him and Marvin Bagley to take this team to the playoffs they have been there since I think four oh four O. five here and here's a player that you know has been nicked up a little bit this year is extension eligible is going to look for a big payday this summer all right let's go to Minnesota someone that we have seen in Brooklyn we see him with the with the gold state warriors and now in Minnesota what's the total cost of fifty seven this is eighty six and we're going to call on the W. C. C. O. Q. are you sure the Angelus was not thirty five he's been in the league he's been moved around so much I can't believe he's just twenty five honest to god not man he's still a young fellow and I think the thing about him is that he's more of a victim of circumstance because he's bald out everywhere he's been I mean you know the Lakers thing here a little hick up in the beginning but outside of that he's bald die even this season you know you've been moved around and things like that in the in the warriors were bad when he was there because you know I was I got some injuries he's still there who opened shortly he's all star level type player but obviously he's not going to any type of look like that because the team is bad all right listen to go to another young man from Boston who's under twenty five Joe.

Grizzlies' Andre Iguodala situation is ugly, but this is how the trade game is played
"The trade deadline is Thursday and by the way do you have an opinion on de Angelo Russell I I got to tell you this at first I was completely in favor of moving him but having gone to a few games Polly being is the partial season ticket holder and fill up man he is a beautiful score he really is and maybe the idea of him and clay and stuff on the same team is kind of intriguing you know not the roster destruction be interesting but right now the timber wolves aren't offering enough so the ways do you have to make a move though to get under attacks line otherwise have to pay a forty million dollar fine I think a lake of even as much as he likes his who concerts in his post Malone concerts and he's not looking to pay forty mil right so Alec Burks could move a blend Robinson could move yeah Amari Spelman could move Jacob everything will come on Looney could move by you gotta wonder what his future is I mean it's unfortunate because he was became such a dependable player for Steve Kerr but I mean I don't know is is he ever going to get back but the real story planned out is with our old pal Andrea you get done yeah how about this is a really weird story he hasn't played a minute from Memphis this year and by the way I think he's making like seventeen Mill seventeen seventeen Mill and I am a little unclear I've tried to read up in much again yeah one clear as to how he can just stay away like is there something in the CBA were like no you gotta come play for is like the guy in office space is again just not going to work anymore I'm just not going under you've missed a lot of games I wouldn't exactly say missing at and I by the way when it when Andriy does come back and go to practice the question is does he clean of fish on newspaper in the locker room do does the does god can offer yeah so anyway so they're going to try to move him and get some for him chained to a veteran team and now the Memphis Grizzlies having a surprisingly good here the twenty five and twenty five they actually hold the eight spot right now they do they got young players like John Moran and they got Dillon Brooks and Dillon Brooks finally just yesterday said you know what we young guys on the Grizzlies a few Andre staying away yeah you can email this
NBA 2020 Predictions
"About My tween twenty bold predictions now. This isn't just for the regular season. This is for the off season. This is the beginning of next season to these addiction that I think that potentially could happen. I'm going to say them here today. And maybe you can agree with me some. You may think this crazy in some you might agree with. We'll have to see my first pro. Prediction is that both L. A.. Neither one of the LA teams will not make the Western Conference finals. I think a team will beat them or since the clippers. Don't take care too much about seeding in the Lakers. Stay the number one seed if the clippers land four or five. They'll play the clippers in the second row. They'll play Lakers around. which would men? 'cause obviously semifinals matchup US and other Western Conference finals match. But I also feel like there may be a team that could upset me maybe Houston is probably the most likely that could upset one of the LA teams and. I think that they're going to keep them from making the the the Western Conference finals. I know a lot of people were expecting that to happen. A lot of people are wanting to happen. I'm sure it will be great for the Lee but I really think that that's something in my opinion that I think is going to happen. That's one of my first. Bold predictions of the twenty twenty season in further on my eh prediction is that the Golden State Warriors will form another super team. Now I don't know if there's going to be with Jaanus. It could be a cry towns because Golden State is monitoring situation but Golden State clearly knows. Listen with the way the League is if we want to be on topic how can we need to get an update US another super team together and I think that they're definitely trying very hard to get another another star player in there now. I do like that. Probably means that's the end of Draymond Green. But I think that's what they're aiming for taming to get their aiming to get another star in there to see to come back with clay and to come back with Steph potentially really they can make you trade for star because they if they do get a top three lottery pig. deathly do not be surprised. If they try to make a trade with that pick honestly they honestly could have just picked up an amazing asset for them because they could use that as trade bait in. That's good trait rate. You know maybe the team star is disgruntled. Maybe you never know. I mean this isn't somebody would think about like the sons have another bad year. We'll we'll give you our top pick and another guy. And we want Devon Booker. Obviously Yona how that work I mean you know. They're kind of doing the right now. And the end of the Russell even yeah no. We Really Devon Booker may be a better player Neanderthal Russell. But that's definitely a prediction I think could potentially happen. I think that the warriors warriors will form another super team. But it's not going to be as top heavy instrument of Kevin Durant who like the second best player in the League. That's why think if they got Jaanus it would be stacked because of state Stephan Klay can play like they play and then they completely put a better supporting cast around. Then you could say okay. Yeah this team is going to be very tough to beat. Even laker teams have a team. They may be looking up to but it will have to see because if they get any towns houses. This is a great player but we don't view him as view when Kevin Durant was there which means even though it would be very top heavy west conference. But that's when also and my pro predictions one of my other pro predictions. Are I think that revenue from the C.. BA will increase which will lead to more players undeserving of big major contracts. Getting big major contracts. I'm going to say any names. But it's like okay. Well I'll say this because I don't know if he's GonNa get it but there are people who are sometimes wonder now dre walgreens supposed to be a free agent this offseason offseason Draymond Green. We know he's not a guy who's going to score points we can do live. And he's a great gadget player. I would say but some people wonder. Would somebody pay draymond green the Max would they give draymond green that Max deal. That is something they definitely wonder about and like a question. Like why would you give you Max. If if there's more money to be spent draymond green could potentially ask for Max and if you like laundry a month you might give them close to it. I mean we already have players now. who try to sign that? First Max deal then take a shorter deal. Just didn't end up getting of that. Ten Year supermax dill. But you know it's one of those those things where I think that this will lead to more players being signed overpaid and I mean you obviously can see more cat room. It can lead the teams being in very weird financial situations with cap every team six Performing up to expectation and then you played a lot of guys a lot of money who may have never actually deserve the money in the first place so. I think that that's going to be something that's going to be interesting another addiction I have is. I think that James Harden will make it to the NBA Finals Cheer. I know that's pretty big. That basically means you're saying he's GonNa beat one or both La Teams. I think James Harden. This would be the best year for him to do it. I think right now this I flew. This is his best year do it. So I'M GONNA go ahead mcnabb. Oh predicts names hard. It's GonNa make the finals. These the rockets are GonNa make the finals. This may be shocking to you. But that's how I feel. I feel like that. Jr potentially do it. I feel like if he was able to average at least thirty in the playoffs and Russell could give him about twenty twenty three. That's fifty three between the two players and they have some good supporting cast. You can't forget about. PJ Tucker can't forget about Erik. Gordon Clink Appel. You definitely feel like they have all the potential attention in the world so potentially be a top team and so I would not be surprised if they end up being the top team they think they can be and making it to the NBA NBA finals. This year in basically just creating just such a great agree moment for the city Houston also another prediction. I think Diane if he comes back as soon as they say he come back. We'll still win rookie of the year. I think Zaylon has all the talents. Be A star of Zion. Comes back in balls out in just twenty points a game in gives you a lot of highlight plays. I think he will be able to squeeze out winning rookie year only only playing half of the year again. That's a pretty bold prediction but as I've anybody can do a Zairean can all takes his cause. Remember even the Luca one owned by a lot last year. You trae young exciting second half which made it interesting and don't be. We don't feel like John Moran is doing with Luca Danni last year so it's not as far fetched is not as it's not like oh it's completely impossible for Luca played so well and then trae young play well in the New Year but he's still play. Okay well it's like John Mirant is playing. Maybe the best right now. But he's not playing at local level from last year so of Zion can have maybe a trae young like surge in the second half of the season. I think he'll go ahead and win the rookie year. But it all depends on when he gets back. 'cause I do if he didn't get back to maybe mid February with that he wouldn't. It's only two months left in the season. At that point. He has to probably get back to move in the next two weeks and then just start going on a tear from game one because dial is full practice recently so he's clearly about to get there. Obviously you've seen him take jumpers you've seen him dunk Donc so I definitely things I on can win the rookie year if he gets back in time and my last bowl prediction is that the Atlanta Hawks will add a star player. This off season. I don't know who but I feel. They're gonNA add some but I feel like some of the issues they've had I flipped. They're going to add a star. Because I feel like you need to especially to make trae WANNA stay there because rotations rumblings that he might and I wanna stay. That may be something that you may want to do. If Your Hawks Front office you need to add some talent in their yep some good young talent but you're going to you know how it is as league view in a win you're gonNA have to give up that good young talent for solidified star. Obviously I feel like trays untouchable. But maybe Kevin Heard. Or maybe you D Andre One hundred maybe a cam reddish maybe push them shelby John Collins and I think they're gonNA make a trade for a proven star in this league and we'll have to see whoever that star is how far the Atlanta Hawks may potentially get because of it but that's it for me thank you for listening listening to the GMC football basketball podcast on the GMC podcast network. If you please remember to subscribe was that really helps us and also ride review and also Father Wilson's social media instagram twitter and

"It's a lot of writing the one team I keep in my island. We just go your core. I say Atlanta Atlanta's probably number one for me to that. They Atlanta's number one the they got three young who after Richie season. I'm thinking he's going to be a multi Bosnia. Yes which had a great sophomore season Kevin heard a very underrated ready to play in that draft class and then they also have cameras shoe. I don't know much about but everybody thinks that he has Paul George potential if he can put it all together and then the Andrew Hunter though he only played like one or two summer league games he's the guy who they added cases aces which they could use and it was great that they you know they added those prospects and now they keep building. They already had another underway. Kaga will be there for me to hills Sacramento Court yes. The pillsbury allows the pills now. I thought about this because that's the first thing I I'm excited to watch the season. How no it's okay no members plus years yeah? I think they guys. I'm more ready Kobe. I have another young nobody's to Dallas Dallas. I was thinking or Denver Denver because Yolk Grizzlies Pay Brandon Carpool just won the M._v._p.. Jaren Jackson John Moran Dillon Brooks Grayson Allen you know so they got some shit going on over there. Reading say the sons they got Devon Burundi on your aiden at this point. That's that's all over Kelly. He's on the twenty four. They got to put it together with consistent colts. What's hopefully they got it now? They got to put it together with a competent front office. I mean if anything they have with Manti as far as we riot because I mean it won't be as the grizzlies also have Josh Jackson. I guess they hoping he could turn something around. They get tired Jones so they got some young young pieces here the Anthony Mountain I would actually put a nugget anymore that makes sense because they were there. That makes makes a lot of sense since somebody brought up the sides. Can we talk about the science. I would be afraid if I was a suns fan. They just brought in Riga Rubio. They did bring Ricky Rubio but if for some reason they don't don't win like thirty games at least they won nineteen can if they don't win at least thirty games to call out BRO. It's GonNa play into the game. We got in for later but this is just one of the team has been terrible for awhile now. There's no sign of improvement even though they're. Again they had the pigs every year. They've been making some trays. It's just they never improve. They don't hit on their draft picks. They always choose wrong. They hit two one eight years. I always say the Andrea aiden Devon Booker at N._C.. Warren who they traded for nothing well like people like me and don't worry Devon Booker Koch for three years that should does not matter no more Paul George Jetson extensive last year. They requested a trait that do not matter if Devon Booker wants to win and Y'all pieces around here he be crazy not to add him play is now getting the power to Wittig and determine your legacy yeah. They've Devon Booker say I WANNA play for this team. He could probably end up on that team easily so talk Devon Booker and what world is done better. I don't think it's crazy to think about the same thing those they are. Who are you taking who is better to you? Devin brokers probably by here especially on offense in a way better shooter. He's a better score in gentlemen. That's funny as you said You'd like to. You actually like the tweet that were saying like he's a business or but. I think that could be better to mission. I didn't like that tweet. I liked it just STA like you but I know meaning behind so now we just like it sweet. You'd never just like I never liked it. I like it just like that. It was funny and it was the dumbest..

"He'll chat about John Moran. His player for two years going. Number two, overall to the Memphis, grizzlies crazy, recruiting story there that I'm sure you're well aware of it by now an assistant on the time at the time on McMahon staff was hungry and thirsty. The assistant went to go get a Cup of soda and some Doritos. And the next thing you know, John Moran. Was it on the main court at the recruiting event that the coach was at? And they see John Mirant, and the rest is history from there. So if it wasn't for coach being hungry for some Doritos and. Little thirsty. I some soda pop Murray state may have never got the chance to get John Mirant on their basketball team. Wild story. Absolutely bonkers. So we'll talk about MC Bank coming up in about thirty five minutes. I gotta get to Kyrie Irving. As we talk a lot about NBA free agency. It's been, we talk about a roller coaster ride with the ups and downs in free agency. And how one day we think. K D is staying one day. We think he's leaving. And the same could be said through all the emotions with letter this year, and so on, and so on for Kyrie Irving, though. This has been something nobody could have even elected to or attempted to try to write the script. Because before the season started or even goes back before then Kyrie Irving gets traded to Boston two years ago. They say goodbye to Crowder and Zach Thomas and the Celtics Kyrie Irving is supposed to be the next guy lead this team into the future and add to the championship culture, that the Boston Celtics do have and Kyrie Irving wanted out of Cleveland did not want to be second fill any more, and he wanted to be the guy on a championship team because he wanted the Bron James. Made the biggest shot in the NBA finals. But it was the bronze team. So whatever the reasons were kyri wanted out and Kyrie wanted out because he wanted to be the guy, the alpha male. And then in his first year he gets hurt misses the playoffs. Team gets these conference finals. They're sitting nice and pretty to game seven up against his former team in the Cavs, they almost win it. But almost isn't good enough. They lose it, but because of that with the broader than leaving in the off season. And with what the Celtics were with Marcus smart, and Marcus Morris, and Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum. And by the way, Al Horford to, and then you get back Kyran Gordon Hayward from injuries. You're expecting that disguise going to be the limit for this team and they should be the favorite to get to the NBA finals in Eastern Conference and before the year started Cairo Irving to the Boston crowd, says, if you guys will have me back, I played on resigning. So with all that positive momentum, have you told me before the year, started right after that, like, let's say, you know, even during the season five games in that career having wouldn't it be back with the Boston Celtics, and be a foregone conclusion and absolute lock? When free agency start said he won't return to the Celtics, I would have been very surprised. Now, you told me I had the Celtics Eastern Conference finals again. Yeah. I could see that. And I could understand that. But if you would've told me that they wouldn't even get these conference finals. And Kyrie probably wouldn't even consider going back to the Celtics. I would have said, man. Yeah. I don't see how that thing that goes so south. But it did go south this year because there was a chemistry problem because you had young players who weren't supposed to be the guys. But because of injuries they were getting the big minutes. They were getting the big spotlight. And then you implement kyri Irving, who does it his way, you're trying to find Gordon Hayward and get him back because of his contract. And because of all that the lactic chemistry on this team is really and the big egos on this team. Is really what did this team? And now you fast forward to where we are currently what the ugly year that did transpire for the Boston Celtics. And it culminates with Kyrie Irving in the playoffs against Milwaukee after winning game one implying really well going twenty six points, eleven assistant seven rebounds, but then the rest of the series of taking a lead. They didn't win another game. And they lose in five to Milwaukee Milwaukee goes onto the Eastern Conference finals. And they took it to leeann. They can't slam the door shut against the raptors. But in those games against Milwaukee gains two to five. Tyree was awful now look at the point to the series all twenty four points per game. Stop though he was four eighteen from the field in game two one five from three game three was eighty to twenty two from the field to evade from three game four seven to twenty two from the field one at seven from three and then the elimination game they lost one sixteenth one he was six at twenty one from the field and one seven from three. If you want to be a leader, if you wanna be the guy to elevate your game in those moments and he couldn't elevate his game. And he's a tremendous player. There's no doubting his ability and his talent. But when he was the guy not second fiddle, and he was the guy he failed. And now we're in the situation where Kyrie Irving wants out, and you hear Jackie max report that he didn't like Boston any problems with Brad Stevens, and Danny aines. So this whole thing is a entire mess and five is going to be on a new team. Does he wanna be the guy again or? Does he want to be? The second and third guy on a team. And maybe go back with the Bron James. Because if he wants to be the guy, there's tons of options. He go to New York and be the guy next year. With the Knicks or the nets. The clippers he could be the God. So does options to be the guy. But there's also an option where he go to Lakers. And be probably the third guy, but get back to the winning ways and get back to not have as much pressure on him. Because the pressure Dexter, no matter who they do add, is the third piece for the Lakers. Unless if it's, it's not going to be quite, it's all going to be on LeBron James and Anthony Davis. So let's thing is a mess, and it's unfortunate because I really did like Kyrie Irving. And he's such a fun player to watch, but the attitude this year was a big turn off to me. Now, you want to hear something crazy. There's this call from ninety eight five sports up one of our Phillies where it may have been kyri Irving actually calling into the station. We have two audio clips here. Let's hear the roll. Call first off. It's audio cut. Number one, go to Mike in Waltham, Mikey, Mikey. Hey. I'll say that was such a talent like Tyree. It shame that the fans in welcome welcome in more on, like those are, so red it'll come back and I think it us right now. He's gone. And look at what we're left with say here that call right away. You don't think much of it other than the fans and welcome it in him in, like, what the fence turned on them when things that ugly. Because the fans were disappointed, but the fence it welcome him and big time, see here that call you don't really think much of it. But then I guess, on the show, ninety eight five sports, I think it was Zola Zolak Bertran that people were, maybe call in and say, no, that was kyri or producers someone came up with it. They did a voice by voice comparison. So let's play that one in here. If it is career or close to Cairo Irving was such a rare talent like Tyree, then you start figuring out what is important to you off the floor. Shame that the fans and welcome welcome in more. It'll it'll be an unbelievable experience to for something new towns. Like those are so ready. It'll come by. Still. Excellent potential. You have on the floor. I think it serves us, right? Then I was gone and looking what we're left with only to us as individuals, but says a collective group and the team, I wished that they had Kyrie Irving on the phone in terms of, of the second audio that they that they had, but I don't think I've ever does. Many interviews to begin with on the phone. I don't know. I hope that would be true, and it won't be the first time a player calls into radio station or a significant other of a player calls into a radio station there. Sometimes the cadence it goes, okay? Ben, let me ask you this. Do you think after hearing that twice? Do you think that was Cairo Irving? No. Yeah, I leaned towards. No, not even close. But there's like a little bit of the cadence like in the first part, the first time they've played it back. I was like, no and the second and third cuts that they go I go a little bit. But I don't think it's enough not even remotely close. And I don't think Jerry cares right now Kyrie's sitting there counting all the money that he's about to get saying, thank God. I'm getting out of this city that he's calling into the sports hub come. He's sensitive, though, not that sensitive, if I would've told you years ago that Kevin Durant would have a burner count and would be tweeting back to fans on a on a fake account. Would you believe that, that, that I would get because Kevin Durant on Twitter like these guys are on Twitter? They're on their phones all the time. The fact that Kyrie would be listening to Boston sports radio knowing that. All they'd be talking about really is him. Number one, then number two to take the impetus to call in. I just don't see it. I think it's a stretch. I think it's a stretch no doubt about it. I James favor climbing the second one where they compare the voices. One more time. Such a rare talent like Tyree. And then you start figuring out what is important to you. Game that the fans and welcome. Welcome in more. It'll, it'll be a little bit unbelievable experience to for something new, like those are so red it'll come back. Still. Excellent potential. You have on the floor. I think in serves us right then now he's gone. Looking what we're left with only to us as individuals, but says a collective group and the team throughout the clip and it could be my mind plan a game with me because you want to believe it, it slightly sounds like it. But yeah, I I'm more with you, Ben. Why would you call it? If you're. It's not like it was a family member who called in that you couldn't control that would simply be him calling in for the host of be turned. That's him. Yeah. I don't know. Not not buying it at all to be honest. It would've never even crossed my mind that might have been Kyrie fright. I I'm really curious how they got to that part where they're like, wow. That was Cairo Irvine calling. It's pretty of stick a little bit..

"Ladies and gentlemen, Z day has arrived, and who better to talk about Z day, then the guy who started the entire college basketball season, with the gift that never stopped giving Jay Bilas, who thus describes ein Williamson's game this way. Oh my God. And we're delighted to be joined by Jay Bilas again as he gets ready to be a part of our extensive rail camp, four point. Game Cham Cham all that draft coverage tonight on ESPN Jay, if that was the way you described Zion Williamson to start the college basketball season. How will you describe it tonight when he goes number one overall to the pelicans? I'll just I'll just say trae that I stand by my original study. Oh my God. The, the guy is unbelievable. And, you know, I was I was talking earlier today about about sort of our ratings are ratings. For college basketball. We're way up ratings for Duke games way up. They do games are high anyway. But it wasn't because we ran some really clever promos. All due respect to those who put the promos together. But once once you saw in Williamson, you knew he's one of those few players that you see and right away, you know, you don't need to have breakdowns. What's, what are you shooting percentages? And what does he do picking a whole and all this other stuff? You know right away. He's the real thing, as long as he stays healthy. He's got superstar written all over Jay. I mean, listen, we've talked so much about him, quite, honestly, the three guys, you know Zion, John Moran, RJ, Barrett. Tell us the difference, or in your mind. If each team give John Moran does go to the grizzlies, and wherever dairy garland ends up a guy, we only saw for five games, but really the star seems to be rising. A bit right now, one of the biggest differences are comparisons with the John Moran. Well, he's a better shooter than John Moran. Darius garland. Mike Schmitz is compared him and Chauncey Billips last night. Compared him favorably. Damian Lillard with the way he shoots the ball. And I think that's a fair comparison as to the shooting stroke. He's got a very compact, beautiful stroke. It's like watching Louis stays in swing a golf club. I mean it's just it's fluid and beautiful and repeating and so he can really shoot it. He can shoot it off the dribble. He's excellent picking roles at getting his own. He's not as good off distributing and spraying off pick and rolls. But that's something he'll get he was really the number one rated point guard coming out of high school, and, and his coach last year who recently like go from Vanderbilt before the hard Jerry Stackhouse Bryce, drew who played in the NBA and was the sixteenth pick. I think the ninety eight draft has said if he could've played the whole year he thinks he would be valued higher. John rant, which is saying something garland, is really good. I just don't rate him as high as I do. De'andre. Hunter of Virginia. I think hunters the fourth best prospect, and when you look at this draft, it's almost like we've, we've created this three person draft and there's nobody else in the draft everybody else's secondary. And that may be true to an extent. But, but there's value in this draft from from four to fifteen and there are some, some slots after that, that guys are going to be really good players that happens every year, and it's going to happen, this year talking to Jay Bilas ESPN college basketball analyst on the shell Pennzoil performance line. So Jay in that range, who's the guy your most excited to see where he ends up then since it is such a big part of where everyone's drafted. There are two guys Mike hunter is one because if, if it turns out that everybody's so enamored with and rightfully so Darius garland, the way he can shoot it and play the point than hunter could go like I've got him rated number four that doesn't mean I think he's going to be drafted number for. But if he winds up falling down to seven in the Chicago Bulls got him that's a huge win for Chicago. I mean a gigantic win. I just can't imagine that a guy that shoots it like he does that is skilled as the Andre hunter. And that is the best defender in this draft with the seven to wingspan and athletic is going to drop. I just don't get that. But if you go even further down, I'm a big fan of Ryuhachi more of Gonzaga. I've got him rated number eleven overall, and that may be too low. Honestly, he he's really talented and he's still young in the game. And I as I think he goes forward with that body. And that skill level is ability to pull up and knock down a. Riveter jumper. And then get to the basket. I think he's going to be a coveted player in one that could be really good. And then a little bit further down in the draft. I like the keel Alexander Walker. From Virginia Tech reminds me a lot of Lou Williams. When when Williams came out of high came out back when high school players can be drafted. And, and he was he was drafted a little bit lower than than obviously, you should have been if you look back, but, but he reminds me a lot of sweet Lou. I think he's got a lot of that in this game jam. I'm glad you brought up some of those names as Jay Jay Bilas with us because we've heard so long. Oh, it's a three player draft or four maybe five player draft. But you don't have to go back that far to look players way, outside the top five that have gone on to have massive impact in the NBA weather genus onto the couple, Leonard Paul George Kimble Walker, Draymond green Steph curry. There's all these guys who aren't taking one two and three and suddenly become the player down the road. So five years from now of all those players, you just mentioned, which is the one the. Thank we'll be saying man we all get that one wrong. This guy is a superstar. Well, that's a good way because I think if I knew that right now I'd rank them one two or three. Right. And I you know, it's interesting, you guys are football guys, and I'm a football fan, but when I look at the NFL draft and, and believe me, I'm not an expert. All I did was predicted Daniel Jones. Go number six way before it happened. All I can tell you is like I see as many mistakes, if not more made in the NFL draft is see in the NBA draft. Right. And these are not exact sciences and, and, you know, you do the best you can but to me, that's the beauty of this is that that, you know it's the gift that keeps on giving. We're going to have a really good time tonight. You know spewing our opinions out there on all these players, and I think we're gonna probably be right more often than we're wrong. At least I hope but then four or five years from now. We're going to still get those gifts about seeing who exceeded expectations who didn't live up to them who drafted. Well, who didn't? That's kind of the beauty of these drafts. And I think it's really the, the beauty the NBA draft because we don't get very long to look at these guys before you gotta pull the trigger on a draft pick. It is not easy for these NBA GM's and overall. I think they do do a really good job. Well, you do in Daniel. I mean, Daniel j you apart of draft for Daniel, because you had the trade places with Daniel. You had the story when he came to camp with his hand broken. He went there left at a basketball camp. And you're the one that said, hey, he was the best guy in the camp playing left handed, so j you the best. We'll see what happens tonight. Thanks, man. Thanks, jay. Thanks guys. He still write about draft because what do we do? Five years from now. The NFL hey, let's redraft in the NBA. Hey, let's redraft and see what we do right now. 'cause man, you just don't know the short, sample sizes, the basketball has deal with basketball, I think is an easier set commodity to go from year to year. It's just because of the lack of injury but one year of a player and in some cases like garland five games, we're supposed to do with it is amazing. Because in the NFL I you know, we do this, you can see guys that are drafted in the fourth round or seven hundred that guy going to be a player in the NBA, you could be a first rounder, and you may never get off the bench. It's such an unbelievably different dynamic between the two and j in recent everybody will do.

"Patrick dot com. I still like John Moran is a combo platter of Damian, Lillard, Dwayne Wade, sort of size ability attacking. He's a he's a really fun player to watch. He's not afraid he's a really good passer. And you know, Memphis, that's now. Memphis is John Moran. Imagine you're eighteen nineteen years of age and you have your own team. Mean it's basically that's what was announced yesterday. When Mike Conley was dealt to Utah. John rent here you go. It's your team. That's unheard of when you think about kids and their kids this young, and they're going to be the face of the team LeBron got that treatment when he came in it just felt like LeBron was ready for that moment. John Marantz come out of nowhere in a year's time. And now all of a sudden the number two pick overall. And now he's got his own team. Basically he's the face. Amazing really is already. So what's poll question? We're going with okay, a couple more options. I like the Zion comparison game. Because it you said, nobody said, there's no one on there. I can look at a hybrid Z A. Draymond green type. I don't know. Pick one player who's he closest Sube Barclay. Julius Randle who's the other guy that he always gets Blake Griffin. Yeah. You don't even want to be pinned Barkley the explosives. Well, he gets out on the break. He's got a good handle. He's a really good passer. You know, the jumper is respectable, it's not dangerous not lethal. But it's respectable. Would you say similar Blake Griffin and Barkley when they came in the league or even better than those guys?.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Z day has arrived, and who better to talk about Z day, then the guy who started the entire college basketball season, with the gift that never stopped giving Jay Bilas, who thus describes ein Williamson's game this way. Oh my God. And we're delighted to be joined by Jay Bilas again as he gets ready to be a part of our extensive rail camp. Four point Cham Cham Cham, all that draft coverage tonight on ESPN Jay, if that was the way you described Zion Williamson to start the college basketball season. How will you describe it tonight when he goes number one overall to the pelicans? I'll just I'll just say trae that I stand by my original study. Oh my God. The, the guy is unbelievable. And I was I was talking earlier today about about sort of our ratings are ratings for college basketball way up ratings for Duke games away up. They do games are high anyway. But it wasn't because we ran some really clever promos all due respect to those who put the promos together. But once once you saw sign Williamson you knew he's one of those few players that you see and right away. You know, you don't need to have breakdowns. What's, what are you shooting percentages? And what does he do picking all and all this other stuff? You know right away. He he's the real thing as long as he stays healthy. He's got superstar written all over. I j I mean listen, we've talked so much about him Clinton. Honestly, the three guys you know Zion, John Moran RJ Barrett. Tell us the difference, or in your mind. If each team give John Moran does go to the grizzlies, and wherever dairy garland ends up a guy, we only saw for five games, but really the star seems to be rising. A bit right now. What are the biggest differences are comparisons with the John Moran? Well, he's a better shooter. John moran. Darius garland. Mike Schmitz is compared him and Cianci Bill last night. Compared him favorably. Damian Lillard with the way he shoots the ball. And I think that's a fair. Comparison has to the shooting stroke. He's got a very compact, beautiful stroke. It's like watching Louis stays swing a golf club. I mean it's just it's fluid and beautiful and repeating and so he can really shoot it. He can shoot it off the dribble. He's excellent, I pick and rolls getting his own. He's not as good off distributing, and spray in off pick and rolls. But that's something he'll get. He was really the number one rated point guard coming out of high school and, and his coach last year who recently like, oh from Vanderbilt before they hired Jerry Stackhouse Bryce, drew who played in the NBA was the sixteenth, pick in the ninety eight draft has said, if he could've played the whole year he thinks he would be valued higher. John ran, which is saying something garland, is really good. I just don't rate him as high as I do. Deandra. Jay hunter of Virginia. I think hunters, the fourth best prospect, and, you know, when you look at this draft it's almost like we've, we've created this three person draft and there's nobody else in the draft everybody else's secondary. And that may be true to an extent. But, but there's value in this draft from from four to fifteen and there are some, some slots after that, that guys are going to be really good players that happens every year, and it's going to happen, this year talking to Jay Bilas ESPN college basketball analyst, Michelle Pennzoil performance. So Jay in that range, who's the guy, you're most excited to see where he ends up then since it is such a big part of where everyone's drafted. There are two guys. My hunter is one because if, if it turns out that everybody's so enamored with and rightfully so Darius garland, the way he can shoot it and play the point then hundred could go like I've got him rated number four that doesn't mean I think he's going to be drafted number for. But if he winds up falling down to seven in the Chicago Bulls got him that's a huge win for Chicago. I mean a gigantic win. I just can't imagine that guy that shoots it like he does that is skilled as the Andre hunter. And that is the best defender in this draft with a seven to wingspan and athletic is going to drop. I just don't get that. But if you go even further down, I'm a big fan of Ryuhachi more Gonzaga. I've got him rated number eleven overall, and that may be too low. Honestly, he's really talented and he's still young in the game. And as I think he goes forward with that body. And that skill level is ability to pull up a knock down a. perimeter jumper and then get to the basket i think he's going to be a coveted player in one that could be really good and then a little bit further down in the draft i like the keel alexander walker from virginia tech reminds me a lot of lou williams when williams came out he was came out back when high school players could be drafted and and he was he was drafted a little bit lower than than obviously should have been if you let back but but he reminds me a lot of sweet lou i think he's got a lot of that in this game jam i'm glad you brought up some of those names jay jay bilas is with us because we've heard so long it's three player draft or four maybe five player draft but you don't have to go back that far to look at players way outside the top five that have gone on to have massive impact in the n._b._a. whether genus onto compo- kawai leonard paul george kimble walker draymond green steph curry there's all these guys who aren't taking one two and three and suddenly become the player down the road so five years from now of all those players you just mentioned which is the one do you think We'll be saying man we all get that one wrong. This guy is a superstar. Well, that's a good because I think if I knew that right now I'd rank them one two or three. Right. He went there, left-handed basketball camp, and you're the one that said, hey, he was the best guy in the camp playing left handed. So Jay, you the best. We'll see what happens tonight. Thanks, man. Thanks. Thanks guys. He's still right about drafts because what do we do five years for the NFL? Hey, let's redraft in the NBA. Are you going to be disappointed? Not right raising his I'm not putting his jersey just me. Are you going to be disappointed if the bulls win the lottery because Zion Williamson hate you played Sylvie scam? That's like a great school. A high school game. I mean hamster should they take John Moran? Let me ask you a legitimate question. How much of the fact that you had at least two if not three of the top five recruits in an era where one Greg question are, you know, that's that's that's where we live. How much of that is on? I mean, I I have nothing against coach K. But the fact that they didn't even get to a final four how much does that stick to coach K? It's a good question for dockage, four o'clock. There you go. Sean McVay pulled a tampering prank on his good friend cliff. Kingsbury think we have the audio. We do. Yeah. From shefty's podcast. It is. So this is McVay. You starts off talking. Here's the prank. We went to dinner. He we went to dinner with you know, he's got a relationship with Pat Mahomes, and and we did that. And you know, I kind of tricked him into thinking that he was going to be in trouble with the league with tampering and stuff like that. And I think his assistant got all wigged out. He was worried about losing picks and city better call Steve kind. But fortunately, it was all legal and we had a good time. I want to hear a little bit. But how you tricked him into thinking that he was tampering detail. We have a mutual friend that I put his name in my phone is Roger Goodell. And I had this friend sent me a tech saying, I can't believe you're at dinner with Kingsbury and Mahomes, you know, better than this. This is tampering. You're both losing picks. And I showed cliff the text and what he saw ghost. I said he'd better call Steve time right away. I thought I was gonna lose the number one overall pick, and we couldn't let it go onto long, but it was pretty good. We got him good. I still I've talking to about that yesterday when I saw him. But I'm pretty proud of that one. What did he say about messed up? I'm getting you back, man. Let it go onto long. But I was it was a pretty good job. You should have let it go. Should of at is pretty good. That's a good prank right there. Really good prank. And that's one where you can't let it go onto lawn. Can you? He's gone the GM and the owner. And. The Red Sox are nearing a one hundred thirty two million dollars extension with Zander Bogart's. According Jeff passan. They will join us tomorrow to talk all things baseball. Jeff passan now is at four o'clock every Tuesday. Jin yelich tied a major league baseball record with a home run in four consecutive games. And then won yesterday's game. Well, what was that a double double walk off double? They pitched surprise. The cardinals pitch to them. What was it first and third or something like that? I don't remember the four home runs, and they they pitched to. And in that same series Goldschmidt hit four homers. Well knows having on his fantasy. But he didn't win his his matchup because yellowish was on his competitors team. Right. Something like that. No. Okay. I heard you bemoaning the fact that he didn't do any good because y'all let's hit hit four as well. No, I was I was just saying it didn't do the cardinals any any good pickles. Can't handle all foot fantasy football is good enough. For me. I can't do the rotisserie baseball. I need someone test last week, by the way, our friend. Michael Irvin has announced ski is cancer free. It's grain by announced an Instagram posts that the testing he underwent for throat cancer came back one hundred percent clean. And I think there was some real concern any went through a very detailed set of tasks they've come back cancer-free. So that's goodness. You guys see we have some more hot NFL chat. April fools. So. There's a trade, right. Yeah. The chiefs announced they traded safety. Eric Murray to the Browns for defensive Emmanuel Emmanuel. Oh, he's the defense has been holding out there. Breanna Stewart calls out NCAA for lack of respect to women's game during March Madness
"But first a brief rant and listen. I could go on a lot longer than I'm going to keep it. I'm going to keep it quick. But brianna Stewart called out the NC double A for their lack of respect for the women's game. During March madness, she pointed out that the March madness handle tweeted out Ron Swanson gift and said when you find out there are no March madness games until Thursday mad face hashtag Sweet Sixteen there were of course, women's games. There were eight women's games on the twenty fifth. And even though the March madness handle says it is for the men's tournament and forces women to go with. The NC double A WB handle most people don't know that. And March madness is gender neutral. It is it is not about the men's tournament trademark to the men's tournament. It actually started with high school hoops. And so when even that handle if they want to say, we're bummed the men's games aren't playing go. Check out the women, that's fine. But the idea of constantly being the default. So that when John Moran has the first triple double since dream on green, and no one mentioned in the men's tournament. Because Sabrina UNESCO is has eighteen triple doubles this year and just had one in the tournament last year in multiple women have recently, again, it's not about people not understanding. It's about giving context. So that you can give props words do when people say that you NBC upsetting UVA is the first time internment history will no it's not because the Harvard women did it in the nineties. It's not that hard to say in men's tournament history. It's not that hard to add men's and how do I know? No that because women always have to do it. We always have to add women's to everything. And I think when you have schools even schools where the women's program is more successful than the men's and they always had to add the W or the women's to their handles to their social handles. They always have to add the modifier. So people know they're talking about them. It's insulting. It's insulting to say. Lady. Huskies lady giants it's insulting especially when it's something. That's a male thing. Like stallions lady stallions that makes no sense. That sounds like an unfortunate accident for the horse. But you know, what I'm saying? And again, people push back so hard on this. When I tweet about it. They say, oh, you knew what they meant. Well, why is it so difficult to add a modifier so that you say men's tournament women's tournament? Because then you're at least respecting that there is another tournament going on. And that those women are working just as hard putting in just as much time. Whether or not you want to watch them whether or not it's your priority. Give them the respect that they're that they've earned and to me we see this all the time with Little League World series. Perfect example, are they the best at what they do of anybody in the universe know, why are we interested because we tell people the stakes and we tell people the stories when we do that with women's sports for the Olympics for the World Cup for Serena Williams, when we give people the stakes and the stories people are interested.

"Eight seven nine three seven seven six I will say this about John Moran. And normally I'm not the guy that's going to be that guy. That's going to be in the press box. Be on the radio saying, we got to have this gotta have this. I'm not normally a prisoner of the moment. But let's be honest. We need this guy to be four to staying on Saturday. We need to get to the Sweet Sixteen not too. So his stock and rise. This is completely completely selfish here, I love seeing dudes like this a young man out of South Carolina. And the reason that people don't know about him a lot of people don't know about Jonathan is because he plays small school Murray state with the note college basketball on you're going to want to go to what you know, you'll go to Duke, you'll go to Kentucky you go to North Carolina. Even with UCLA stinks. People are going to pay attention to them. No one has time the worry about John Moran and Murray state or North Carolina, Greensboro or buffalo. A Wofford people are just going to do that. That's why selfishly and also because I want to be big in the community at the expense of job Iran, but not at the expense of him. We need him to beat Florida state to get to the Sweet Sixteen because his story line is going to have a lot of people gravitating towards that. When they see exactly where he's come from highs made to work at a mass about to be a top two top three pick in the NBA draft later on this year. Absolutely. He didn't get twenty five points a game and average ten assisted game in pretty much a double double just by Moses. He's been putting working, and yes, it is the Murray state racers the point is is that when I start seeing him go up the ladder and somebody's NBA mock drafts. I know that we are my God. I think we're a hundred over one hundred days away from. Yeah. On almost one hundred days from the NBA draft. But the point is is that I want to see how this young man was able to progress. A sophomore getting the job done for Murray state. And the thing is you are a hundred percent, correct. What we are looking for as fans and broadcasters are storylines. We know Zion Williamson being in the spotlight that he really is kind of the face of college basketball based on how he's been able to capture the imagination of the nation so quickly, but John Marantz if he's if he's out there doing some stuff we need a couple of quality teams that we can follow. Now, we gotta NC double A tournament. Everybody can be involved in it. This is more than just a die. Hard college basketball fans watching a game after game term after tournament storylines. Do matter Moran became a big story line here today at the hammer boys Corvino enrich because right now, they're still doing on Twitter, a broadcast at thirteen hours of a basketball bonanza. They may be looking through their eyelids by the time. This is all said and done being on all that time and having Noko heads like me stop by and also Michalis sportscenter rate. Lizzy from the bachelorette when the discussion came about job Mirant talking with those guys and convener acid who does he remind you. I never wanna be that guy that says he's the second blind or he's the second this. I just never do that. I just wanted to be the first John ran. But let's say if he gets past this weekend against Florida state and gets to a Sweet Sixteen this all the makings of a Steph curry kind of thing because Steph curry played at Davidson didn't go to a bigger school when they had that run that year, he got them to the elite eight historic. He became the biggest star in college basketball when that happened. So they finally lost in the elite eight if they get a chance to get to a Sweet Sixteen Zion is still going to be the biggest college basketball. But this kept all the makings of a Steph curry kind of feeling and also an upward when it comes to job Moran playing for Murray state, if they beat Florida state on Saturday Costa comes out of Davidson comes out of nowhere. Right. Exactly people. I mean people barely knew him not even knowing him as del Curry's, son. Who's the who's the lights getting kid soon? Vasquez. That's all they knew Steph curry job as a, hey, who's the do that looks a lot like Russell Westbrook dunking on cats. Biggest at a second weekend that could have that kind of feeling people start to know more about Steph curry that could be the same job Mirant emerged. They went on Saturday. Well, that's the hope and because we're always looking at blue bloods when it comes to the NBA draft, and this is not necessarily blue blood program. Absolutely nice to Murray state racers tonight blood program. Plus, it's a bloodless program, very state racist. But then on the bottom line, but put it out there. Is a bloodless program. Put that out there. I think that when with this particular program here, I I love that. It's going to be a kind of a diamond in the rough because we we it's something that you don't expect. I I didn't. I thought I looking at my brackets now ahead Murray state winning the game. I just didn't know that they would dominate the game. And that's because Iran, he did everything out there today. You know, you're good when the opposing team's cheerleaders told thank you seniors and the game still had about seven minutes to play. That's what the Marquette Marquette.
