"So fast. There is no stopping. There is no hesitation, and he's the best defense player in the NBA this year. So I don't really care about the scoring average. The warriors absolutely deserve minimum to all stars. He's the second one we agree. Okay. So we got that. So I think this is my last guy that I would consider a lock. I have two left. Okay, so I've got one guy left and let's maybe I cross somebody out by mistake, but my last lock for now is Karl Anthony towns. And I'm hoping that that's one of the ones you had left. It is. Okay. I mean, man, I don't think he's a guy that I think basically has been putting up like perennial all star numbers anyway. Now he's been an all star twice before, so obviously that suggested maybe it's not perennial all star. Or that he's not a perennial all star. But I feel like that the Timberwolves deserve a guy. I think that you actually could at least talk about a couple of people, but I think that he's been the most consistent of them. That he's been just kind of a beast, really, this year. That he's shooting a little bit better than he ever has from three. I don't know. I mean, I just think at a certain point, the hope for him was always that he was going to be able to do this year in and year out. But I just think that he's a guy that is going to play himself in that conversation. When you look at it positionally, I don't think that there are many guys at the position that are better than he is. I just think that in one case, it happens to be maybe the best player in the world. But offensively, I don't know that it gets much better than him. So he would be a pretty easy pick for me. I'm curious to hear who your other lock is here. Yeah, catch a no brainer. 25 points a game, 9 rebounds, would I like him to occasionally box out on defense? Yes, it would really help the Timberwolves if they were not rebounding team in the league and Karl Anthony towns as part of that. But 51% overall, 43% on threes that the volume he shoots, he's completely unstoppable in the post when he's not throwing one handed blindfolded overhead passes to the wrong person or out of bounds completely as double just an all time great offensive player. Defensively, he's just okay. But they've been pretty sound defensively all season with him on the floor and with a little better with him off the floor, but he's at least are they getting a little lucky, I think for a lot of the season they got lucky with opponent three point shooting, but it's hard to argue that he is torpedoing a bad defense or something like that. He's easily the best candidate on the wolves. And like you said, you could make a case for Edwards. I don't think it's particularly convincing. You could make a case for the angel of Russell. I don't really think that's particularly convincing. Towns is a no brainer. I'm telling you, I can't believe you don't have this next guy locked in. So this is probably more of a semantic thing. I'm almost offended actually. It's a semantics thing then. It's gonna be back to the if it's who I'm thinking you're gonna say it's basically the Tatum argument, but the Western Conference version, go ahead. Well, I hope you don't say it to this guy's face that you don't have him on your preliminary all star team because he's not gonna be happy and he's not gonna forget, but John morant has to be a Western Conference all star. Okay, he left, remember what I said I might have crossed somebody off by mistake because you and I said initially that we had the tech guy trying to save Facebook John Miranda crosses a month by mistake. I see you Chris herring. I have them on my Google Doc here listed as a starter with a question mark. So that makes me feel better because I thought you were talking about someone else. I had them on my list and I forgot that we hadn't discussed them. I had them listed as a starter preliminary. And by the way, just to be clear, my locked my order in which I have done these locks is not a ranking of Loch Ness. They're all locks. They're all in John morant has been incredible. Look, they missed 12 games. They went ten and two without him. We don't need to relitigate that they faced a lot of opponents who had huge guys injured their opponent outside shooting was insanely lucky. John Moran is not a good defensive player. I'll say, just like tray on. He's not an elite defense of player in this league. By the way, we need to ban the phrase in this league. Like, why do people punctuate everything that he can really he can really shoot in this league? He's a guy. We all know the league we're talking about. You don't need to say in this league. We're all talking about when you're broadcasting an NBA game. This guy can really defend in this week. Yeah, I know. We're watching it at a game. Anyway, John marantz and all star period end of story. That makes me feel better. I thought you were going to argue someone else that you were surprised I didn't have as a lock. But no morant absolutely was a lock. I mean, really, when I looked at it, he was the guy that after those first three stars, I actually had him listed as my fourth guy, like the guy that I would say after those three is maybe the guy that deserves the most. I got no problem with that. I'm taking Donovan Mitchell. That's kinda where I'm in. Buy a hair this year, but grant is, he's shooting 40% from three, Chris, like you would say, if you said that before this season that he was gonna do that, and we're talking about what the perceived weaknesses of his game are obviously defenses still one of them. But I mean, the shooting, if it's real, and if he can sustain that, maybe not for the season, but anywhere near that. I mean, good luck guarding that guy for the next 15 years. If he can stay healthy. He can get any shot he wants, he sees every single pass. He doesn't just see every single pass. He creates passes that only he is really envisioning because he'll take a dribble move or a hesitation dribble, or he'll even cut, give and go, all because he knows if I do this, the defense is gonna do X, Y, and Z, that guy's gonna be open. He is, I've said this before, and it's cliche and I don't care. Whatever it is, John morant has it. He has the it factor of NBA stardom. Guys want to play with him, guys like to play with them. He gets his teammates revved up. He has it, he's an all star. This is going to be the first of if you told me right now, John marantz gonna be a 12 time NBA all star at ten time NBA all star..

"A lot of people are looking for a roadmap. How do we move forward. While the nebraska treasurer it becomes the first state. Says they refuse to comply with biden's plan to let the irs view your bank transactions nebraska says nebraska state treasurer. John miranda said they will not comply if the administration sues. He will take it all the way up to the supreme court i'm reading from the gateway pundit dot com as a state treasurer i have an obligation to safeguard personal information of hundreds of thousands of these accounts. And it's absolutely wrong to ask american citizens who have an accuser wrong during the turn of their wrongdoing to turn over the private bank information the federal government. There's no excuse for it. He says moronta. The state treasurer. Says i t i don't typically engage in legislation. That's going through congress but on an issue like this is something that myself and many of my colleagues across the country believe we have to stand up and fight. And i would say this. Even if the supreme court says it's constitutional don't comply seattle san francisco portland los angeles chicago new york philadelphia. They did not comply with federal immigration law. Because they didn't like it with all of a sudden the biden regime is going to say. Yeah we wanna see your bank account information. The state attorney generals and treasure should say no. That's not how this works. And i wanna just praise nebraska for saying the sell out saying that they are going to have a noncompliance agenda when biden decides to completely and totally overreach and go in a direction that we have never gone before in our country that they can see your most intimate banking information your transactions as you make them for what reason exactly because they want to monitor you and of course they'll target conservatives more than liberals obviously they'll target republicans more than democrats especially republican donors and people that are making a difference obviously

"Chance against the bucks when that happened. Well, that's true, but but my point is like that's what's good about the NBA. It's not March madness because it's a one and done the best team doesn't always win something in the Super Bowl baseball kind of probabilistic. Bad call here there can make the difference of picture gets hot. Basketball investing always win. But the flip side of that is it takes some drama out this year because of all the injuries. There was more drama and uncertainty in the playoffs, and I actually enjoyed that a lot, not knowing who was going to win. Has this. How would these playoffs didn't for you just watching the drama unfold? He has been frustrated because I missed all the stars to a miss. But the games were still fund is so dramatic like you said, And I expect these finals Hopefully you will play in without Janet. The final is going to be dramatic. And yeah, you definitely Mr Stars. No question about that. But You just got to take it for what it is and enjoy the games that they come and hope they'll be competitive. But you do no question about it. You missed the start. You missed call. Why not being there? You missed 80 Young and missed the last game or two straight, Mr Gang. Chris Palmer. Two games because of Covid protocol, So, yeah, you can't help but notice the stars, but they're not there. You know another thing about the NBA, Michael is usually among evenly matched teams. In my view, the team with the best player tends to win and that was what was so great about the Celtics and Lakers back in the day like Who's better magic or bird? Kareem More of this one at that point for his career when he was going down, you know he was a million years old or McHale or something like that. Who do you think in this series? If you had to rest the players If Janice plays who's the best player in the finals this year? Yannis Chris Paul, is it Devin Booker, who Who's the best player in the final? That's a great question. I got to get the ass to Chris Paul 36 years of eight and he's been playing like an M V P candidate. You see how different that team is. When he's out there? He had 41 points in his last game. He seems to dictate the pace of how he wants his team to play Devin Booker's younger, of course. DeAndre Ayton, my boy from the islands of playing Greg Janice's Yanis, but Chris Paul has been the best player consistently in the playoffs. I agree. I think that even though you're honest, normally is in the regular season may be more valuable than Chris Paul. Chris. Paul has been playing out of his mind in these playoffs and he looks like the best player going into the series. However, Michael Drew holiday not against bigger players. He can get lit up against bigger players. But he's just about as good as it gets defensively against smaller guards, and Chris Paul is not quick. Like Trae Young is quick. Physically, He's a little bit maybe of an easier a matchup for for someone like Drew holiday. Does that change your thinking at all? No, I'm I love Drew was one of the most underrated players in the game is a complete player on both ends of the floor. Continue up and you can score. You're right about you. Holiday man. He's a stud. But Chris Paul is so crafty and tricky has so much experience, and he just knows he's not quick, like John Miranda as mathematics as a Russell Westbrook or John Moran. But boy, he just knows all the angles and those how to Get you in foul trouble. So do holidays got to be very careful playing against Chris Paul because Chris Paul knows how to draw fouls on you on defenders as well as anyone in the game point. Yeah, You can wind up in palatable, Michael. So So let me get straight. Tell me where I'm going wrong. So, according to Michael Thompson, the number one player in these finals is Chris Paul, The number two player is Yannis. Devin Booker or Chris Middleton or Drew Holly, who is the second best player in the finals. Devin Booker. I mean, the guy. The young fella can can kill you from every area on the floor. You can knock down free throws the best shooter left in these playoffs. He's taken his game to another level, and Chris middle has been good. Obviously, Yannis has his weakness because you can't you can allow him to shoot three. He's not going to hurt you. But Devin Booker is flat out dangerous baby. Wow. So you have number one and number two in the same backward on Phoenix. So I have to imagine you think Phoenix wins the whole thing. Yeah, I got Phoenix with it. I think doesn't Phoenix have the home court? So I think Venus is going to win this. I gotta pull from my boyfriend, The Bahamas anyway, DeAndre Ayton has been playing great. DeAndre Ayton play like a young David Robinson to I know, I know. He's got Brook Lopez to go up against the boy. Lopez is going to have his hands full. Now would be Andre eight. What a coming out party these playoffs have been for agent. He was the problem for a B, not vice versa. He was the problem for Yokich, not vice versa. He's been it's been a real coming out party in these playoffs. And he's credited, like just sometimes it works out the way you think Chris Paul is going to be really good for the Andre is either going to make him or break him. And it seems to have worked out that way. He made eight and better. It seems to me And the storms look like favorites. I agree, Michael Thompson. Of course, Everything will change in the Western Conference when your son gets back to the Warriors next season, and we'll have to reevaluate where everybody in the West End House clay doing. Well, he updates and keeping himself on his instagram saying he's doing greatest rehab coming along. Great, so everything is going according to schedule. There it is. Warriors are going to be tough once play gets back to great Michael Thompson, Ladies and gentlemen, Thank you. Michael. Father knows best. So it's great to hear from you. And as I keep saying every time he comes on the radio, I got to get him on the boxing shows soon. "I don't hear really. Hardly anyone ever talking about him or the grizzlies and yet rock solid. I don't know if you watch their games against portland over the last couple of days. I mean it was not the oh damian. Lillard the best player on the court. He's just gonna take everything over now that it's like time to push for the playoffs. It was the grizzly smacking the blazers in the mouth twice in three days and john. Miranda's going loco. All over the blazers defense but they do it by committee they do it by team is really not the job ranch show. He's awesome. I love. I do see him as a future. All star in the very very near future. But he's getting contributions from eight or nine guys they play smart and they play super duper hard. Like yona's valid shooters this entire chapter of his career. I never saw coming guy who's had so many twists and turns comes in with all star expectations. Then it seems like he's going to be a dinosaur and get played off the core because he's too slow to move defensively then he has. This great resurgence in memphis. Just giving them amazing minutes multiple years and big time stats as well. Just a lot of little wins adding up to a really really solid fun. Team to watch taylor jenkins to me is. Is there going to be a contender. May be poached him at some point like kind of tries to find a way to sneak him in and get them into a higher profile. Job could you ever see that happening for him. That's an interesting question. I mean. I think that memphis has such a really talented young core. That if everybody stays together like you just said a contender would post like. Why can't memphis be a contender in a few years. I think they definitely have the pedigree and the pieces. It'll be very interesting to see. How kind of all those guys coalescence and grow together the one stat that i'll just throw at you about tailor jenkins that makes his coach of the year. Candidacy is so impressive to me is Guest who on the memphis. Grizzlies leads them in total shots. This season leads them in total shots. I is it The the the oregon governor dillon brooks it is still in brooke. She has attempted eight hundred and thirty six field goals. Jam mirant is at seven. Well he. he's had second thoughts on zero if those attempts to take so. If dillon brooks is leading your team and shots and you're gonna make the playoffs in at least the plan in the western conference like you deserve like you're doing a good job you know what you're doing and i should add a little. I mean down the stretch that last game against portland i mean brooks just jackie shots in some really opportune moments with like fifty left on the clock when they're trying to milk it down in grace cranky mistakes left and right. I mean. they're not a perfect team by any stretch. I don't want to oversell it. But they are really fun to watch and they've got an fed based too but your point is very well taken like dat is if you had to rank the the leaders team leaders in field goal attempts.

"What's up, Doug? Okay, So what's going on, buddy? How are you? Good dog. Where were you, man? Good. Good. Uh, I know last week for the college I gave you Alabama. I don't. I know you did college. It. Um, you know, I didn't. I did not get it straight. Whoa, No, no, no, I don't. I don't bet anymore, but I didn't bet it straight. Yes, Yes, I had Alabama It was one of my wind. And it was an easy win. So thank you. I did put that you got this week. I think Alabama again. I think Tennessee showed how to play Florida. Tennessee struggled offensively. Florida struggled offensively against Tennessee, and I wish you did it to them last week. So I think in Alabama is just on a different level than everybody. If you didn't even you didn't even have to sweat that one out again without I told you they were going to that game would be done by Alabama right now is a well oiled machine and loaded that I mean, they just I just found out how he does it every year with these guys. They're unbelievable. This receiver is unbelievable. They Smith is unbelievable. I'd love to see if anybody if anybody could even be a threat. See, I don't think Notre Dam is a legit threat, I guess climbs it would be the only again legit threat is Ohio State, and it could happen in one game, but I have a hard time believing anybody's on Alabama's level. Um, I want to talk about Notre Dame, but I gotta tell you I cannot even believe I'm calling to you to talk about tonight's Knicks game and what I tell you, I'm not have no grant of illusion with this team, but with a coach In four preseason. You know, my body's like only played Cleveland and Detroit. I said, Let me tell you something. Basically, the worst teams list you everybody shot 50% against him. Two full games. They're giving up like a 38% field goal, right? This team never took after the free throw line. They always settle for threes to take unless threes, so they took 99 free throws in four games and in game 19 to 19, a typical Made a big deal about they had 59 of the next CD. It's like 75% and I turned. I told you I love this kid. Quickly. I think this kid is going to be a player. I really like what I see from this kid. I think I don't hit on a God. Agreed. And I don't think it's see. Here's the thing. Let let's just temper enthusiasm, but I'm with you. I mean, it's not. I'm not worried about who the Knicks are playing. I don't care that they played the Pistons of the Cavaliers. The Knicks are the Pistons and the Cavaliers. They are the worst. So when you're the worst, it doesn't matter who you play, but you can see it immediately. Doug and I'll tell you I haven't watched Nix. I mean, you have a tough time watching regular season Knick basketball, let alone preseason. I'm watching it, and I'm into it because they play hard. If there's a sloppy, lazy defense of possession, typical blows the whistle time out gets in. It was guys. They play hard at both ends of the floor, and you see it. Not only she would be excited about Toby Topping. But Emanuel quickly looks like a player. This is a first round pick. Think about what you've seen from quickly already in comparison to say, Kevin knocks and, frankly Latina, other first round picks, and by the way, if Kevin Knox Continues now and if he does that, If Knox is a player, they're going to be a decent team. Yeah, I want to get to know today, but the other thing we finally have a coach. You hold the players accountable. You are in charge. They're playing time, and that's what tipped it was going to do and we're young guys like this. I think it's gonna be a breath of first year to finally watch some games. I like I said they might not even make the playoffs. But the product we've been watching has been so disgusting that I'm I'm excited, too. Actually. Anyway, he's gonna at least get out, agreed. It hasn't been watchable. It has not been watchable and whether they make the post or not is irrelevant. I want to see them play hard and I want to see quickly. I want to see top and I want to see Robinson R. J. Barrett, who, by the way RG Barry may never be John Miranda's Ion Williamson, but it doesn't mean that he won't be a contributing player. I think he could be a solid role player. Or decent player at the NBA level, so they have potential. I get your point. It's going to be hopefully fun to watch this team with typical holding them accountable, getting in the play hard at both ends of the floor. The Notre Dame game. Um, I listen, I die hard noted names, and I'm the hardest critic. The first game. Everybody's passing it off because Lawrence didn't play that back up. Quarterback played great against noted being. He had a great game. The reason Notre Dame won. That game was cause clumps and couldn't stop them and noted name Notre Dame against the run is tough. I don't know if you watch North Carolina's to back their unbelievable North Carolina murdered last week, Miami of Florida like 500 yards on the ground. They don't even get 100 against Notre Dame, and the key to tomorrow's game is gonna be scalps. Kato, linebacker's coming back from Clemson if he's healthy No, no Today might have a problem. But if he's not healthy enough to pull, I'm telling you, no dame can play with them. This is not the Clinton team from last year. And why that's fair. Can Notre Dame like? I mean, look, I'm intrigued by it. Four o'clock little bit later on today. Can Notre Dame play with Bama? You with Obama expert Doug and your Notre Dame fan? Okay, If they do have to play him, it won't be like 2012. They can't listen, I don't think Ah, Hi. Oh, steak and play with him goes. Ohio State doesn't have the defense they had last year. Alabama is firing on all cylinders right now. They are loaded there one thing, though. We know the game tomorrow. Look, he's playing with a lot of confidence is the best. I've seen him play. If he gets off to a shaky start, anything could happen to them. They could wind up getting blown out. But if he continues to play good and stay hot and confident, I think the only thing complete with them right down to the end. Yeah. Look, I'm looking forward to and thanks for the call Doug. Good stuff there. I'm looking forward to that match up. I want to see you think Notre Dame. All right. People are underestimating them based on beating Clemson without Trevor Laurence last time. Well, let's see what they do this time. That's C. You got to the point, though. That's why I have an issue with Notre Dame. And it's not their full. They're just not. There's no way that they can realistically compete..

"But whether you were completely bubbled like the nba or the nhl or you're in a major league baseball and you were walking essentially a tight rope act and maybe even part of a quarantine or a team that was forced to stop play like that's a lot to consider and sometimes it's fans we just say. When are they going to get started. We think about the physical implications of an off-season guys getting ready to go again physically but mentally. You know you're flipping a switch again. And you're going into another season with a lot of unknowns. You're going into another season not necessarily knowing how ol- impact your family. That's something that i'm sure is is being considered. It's something that's weighed heavily on. A lot of these guys fans fans may laugh at this but the bottom line is professional athletes of all sports mentally. It's very tough and like normal human beans. Even when you're not in a bubble even drive in pre pandemic right exactly and and just you know. The percentage of human beings who go through mental struggles. That's there and we heard players even come out about it. Paul george came out about it. John miranda hobbes even mentioned that it was you know in the bubble. It really got depressing because you were alone in you. You couldn't go anywhere and it just the games and you know what was going on with your family. I mean just so much was on their minds. It was a mental struggle in. So i think it's mentally this this year and it's been mentally hard on everybody they whether you're an athlete or not an athlete doesn't matter it. It's been tough the human race this last year and and it's been very difficult i think mentally for a lot of people What it comes down. It's the same thing that comes down to and baseball. It's the same thing that it's gonna come down to for the next year. There's really no arguing it. Here's the deal we can start here and you'll make this much money or we can start here and you can make this much money..

"So you basically play a game and that cardio game, so you lose six thousand calories right? You're not hungry after a game, so you shower. The team gives you a SMOOTHIE. Just so they can replenish you. Get an a plane and you. You know you got some food on the plane, but you put the headsets on. You can't go to sleep for about an hour and you have a three hour flight flights. You Fall Asleep for two hours. Wake up in Milwaukee. It's freezing they initially. Initially awake up and then you go to a hotel, it takes about an hour and then you wake up for a shoot around at nine, and then you come back after that and you take a nap NBA travel at these twelve game roadies. They're brutal brutal, and then by the way when you go to work, you don't sit and talk like me. You have to go guards I on. Your work right right exactly. It's I I can't imagine what the body goes through, but we have to I. I, know it's boring. It's not fun. It's all these things, but when you were, you were talking about the adjustments of a nineteen year old from going from high school travel and play to College College. Basketball travels regional and. From High School, and then you go to the NBA and he's nineteen years old. Coach gentry's right. Though like it's everyone, calm down. He's he's going to be fine. He's nineteen. He's got a little bit more recovery. Now than the rest of us so finally, Steph curry is about to make his long-awaited NBA return. He will be back on the court. Tonight's the warriors take on the Raptors at home. He only played in four games a season before breaking his hand on October thirtieth, so we are glad to see steph curry back. On the court I'm excited to have him back and I think it's really good for him. I know everyone's like Oh. Slams it out the rest of the season. What's the point? He needs to get out there and get going. I Miss Staff I love staff have missed I love Steph steps one of the few guys in sports. You know I'm I've been around this long enough i. like the free tickets. I wouldn't pay for a lot I'd pay to watch staff. I like stuff. It has felt weird this season going from such an intense amount of following the warriors for the past years. Like now's the warriors game on him like Oh. Yeah, we know how this is going to end. Yeah, it's. It's such a weird I. Don't couldn't tell you the last time. well I guess. I mean Miami well, but they were still and yeah, because God and they were still good boss, and the there was still a lot of like at least controversy stuff to talk about or pay attention to, and we didn't really know what direction Miami was going to go in. This is just kind of pause year. 'CAUSE 'CAUSE YOU'RE GONNA get staff, you're GONNA get back. You have draymond back. They're going to get a traffic it just it's just weird. Pause like you see I see the words and I'm like Oh! But now steps back so that's good. Joy The news. Well. That's the news. Thanks for stopping by. Her side story, so ESPN had a bunch of their exacts and stuff Bobby marks a really smart guy. They voted on the best twenty five players under twenty five in Ben. Simmons is number four. It goes Luca. Zion Jason Tatum Ben. Simmons they have trae young just behind John Miranda I think John is going to have an amazing career I think trails going to score a bunch of points, but let's go Ben Simmons number four, and they start listing all his stats and he's. It's amazing. Fourth deflections per game I in steals per game. Second loose balls very good very unique. You know what I find funny. We try to make young athletes in young people fit into our idea of them. Instead he of letting them be what they are, and we work around them, and when I look at Ben Simmons excellent size, excellent defense, excellent length score at the rim, unbelievable passer. He'll never be a great shooter. Get over it. Get people around him. Who can shoot people? Forget this? It's up to the sixers now to figure it out. Magic Johnson walked into the NBA. He couldn't defend when he walked in. Any couldn't defend when he walked out. But the Lakers new James Worthy could defend Byron. Scott could defend Michael. Cooper could defend and Kareem in the near the Rim to defend, but they knew what magic he was in. Let him you know. He's honey badger in a lot of move around a little bit long. He'll knock stuff down, but he was never a great defender. In fact, he was rarely a great jump shooter. He'd get streaky at times, but they knew what magic was. Was the warriors have never tried to make steph what he's not. They have Klay. Thompson and draymond green why they wanted to make sure when Kevin. Durant came to Golden State. He would defend why because Steph can't guard guys. That's not his strength is not strong. He's not a great defensive player. They've never tried to make Steph what he's not the Lakers never tried to make magic what he's not. Ben Simmons doesn't shoot and he never will. So move-on, make it work. Lamar Jackson. It would be dumb not to allow him to run a lot often regularly all the time. It's what he's great at passing fine. He's a great athlete like we're trying to make people. And I talked about this with Gottlieb earlier. You're trying to find kids and we're like. Yeah, they do this this this, but they're not that okay live with it. It's very frustrating when you're young oral. When you know you're not great at something, and you know you are great at some things and your bosses or your parent or your coat is trying to work on the stuff. You're not good at instead of amplifying the stuff. You are good at Simmons. Is a great body a great length, a great defender finishes at the rim. Stop worrying about the shooting. Get people around him. Who can and hill get him the ball? The rockets by the way are now flourishing because they're letting westbrook be westbrook. Hay Clear the floor. Let Russell drive the best. "Millions of dollars and hid his criminal patched ball last week severed ties with foster who had co founded the apparel company with his father, lavar when confronted by the balls foster to threaten to publicly smear the ball family with false and misleading information. That's what the suit alleges. Speaking of basketball. We've got the final four this week. Michigan state matching up with Texas in one semi earlier without Scott van pelt Spartans coach Tom Izzo. When did you know that this group had that type of mental makeup? I think when we lost three in a row, and we lost two or three players, and we weren't as physically gifted some of the teams I've had and then we started getting on a winning streak, and we just started playing better and better, and then we lose war. Now, we lose this guy. Then we lose arns, and it just seemed like. I don't caches even though it's it's from the rival school. We he was being Tom Brady of of basketball. Because no matter who we put with him. He just found a way to make them better. And I think that's a great quarterbacks are point guards do and his mental toughness. Now, he's not as imposing if you line them up, Scott, you wouldn't maybe guessing to be who he is. But his mental toughness and mental ability to handle things. Are unbelievable. And I think that's what's kind of filtered up to our whole team. How do you describe what he represents to who you all ours? A team. You know, I've always had these beat him up tough point guards, you know, like maintain and Travis and Jalen and even even Denzel Valentine know, strong, tough guys. And and I said if you line cash up you'd say I'm going to the choir next week, and this guy's going here. You know, but he just has this knack about him. First of all he's a lot tougher than I give him credit for he takes a beating out there and second of all his mental approach to the game when he was a freshman or sophomore, and I started recruiting them. I said he could be the best passer the best guy to read defensive since magic in this state and sure enough he's turning out to be that, you know. He shoots it a lot better than I thought he could he's got that herky-jerky. Barry sanders. You know, maybe he's not jet quick. But laterally he can he can get things done. He's got his good left hand is he does right hand. Michigan state, Texas Tech in one national semi Virginia. And Auburn in the other Thomas when the Spartans advantage of the final four with their win last week over Duke. It'll be the last time we see Zion Williamson with the blue devils. "In the NCAA tournament yesterday and the star of day. One was John Miranda Murray state, seventeen points, eleven rebounds and sixteen assist is Mari state beat Marquette eighty three sixty four Marsh state will face Florida state Saturday in the second round what a joy to watch this young man play basketball a sophomore who by the way is expected to be the second pick in June's NBA draft. So it's not like he came from nowhere. People have been talking about John Mirant all season long. What a great player he isn't jet as I'm watching him. I see a little restaurant Rondo in him. I see a little Steph curry little Russell Westbrook and a little bit of Patrick Mahomes throw quarterback. He's got that. Yeah. Well, I could pair Steph curry to Patrick Mahomes. Just like the joy they play with. Okay. I. Okay. Yesterday that quite frankly, I don't think I've ever seen anybody passed. It was like an over the head to handed full court pass that normally you'll see a big thrill whether it's LeBron or Kevin love back in my day. Was this kid is special? He's gonna most likely be the second pick in the draft. You're not totally sold on Zion. Williamson could the debate start that depending on who gets that. I picked a job Mirant could be the first pick in the draft. There's gotta be Zion. I think a large part because of how much of attention he's attracted in terms of just people know his name. And so I think they would be a problem with the fan base where if someone were to not take him number one. They would be upset about it. And I get it. I mean the ceiling is higher on on Zion. He's got an incredibly high ceilings. Yeah. Few pass on him. And he turns into be LeBron two point. Oh, that's not the next fifteen years. You're to get I think that again, I think he's going to be a very good player. I just don't see him is this. All time. Great player that people are already saying he's going to be an and I I like I like Mirant a lot too. But you just you never know what some smaller school guys. But it right now, it looks like Leiden these schools offer. This guy is same thing with my curry. And there's. It seems to happen. A lot scouting isn't as great as you would think it is. Sometimes it's size. Right. I mean, Steph curry was not a big guy Davidson six to maybe one hundred seventy pounds. John Marantz six to maybe one hundred seventy pounds off the charts athletic. Yeah. You look at everything. But you don't know if he was like that in high school, you know, so you go from high school first year in college. Now, he's in a second year in college. So obviously is game is expanded. We didn't really see much of him this year because Murray state's not on TV as much as Duke, obviously. But you could see the skill set. They took nine shots. So he's the guy doesn't have to take a lot of shots to be effective. A very efficient score seventeen points, sixteen assists and eleven rebounds. It's tough to get a triple double. In college basketball. The last player to get in the tournament was Draymond green. Did it twice in two thousand twelve with Michigan state Shaq had done it? Dwayne Wade had done it. Not a lot of players in a two. Yeah. So it's tough to do it in college basketball. Those guys did it in a tournament game. The reason being is. There's fewer possessions in college. There's a chance that the NBA has fifty percent more possessions in a game. Then he calls just by the numbers. Right. Because you've got a thirty second shot clock. Forty minutes. The NBA is forty eight minutes with a twenty four second shot clock. The numbers work out that there's going to be more possessions. Fifty percent more possessions in the NBA that isn't necessarily what happens. But the possibility exists that that could happen to do what he did yesterday is amazing and what cats a decent program, and he just was by far the best player on the court. The best player we saw yesterday. Yeah. So most likely in in any game that that Murray state plays in advance. Or don't you'll be the best player in the core? So that always gives you a punchers chance in the tournament. And yeah, he certainly looked like he was an elite talent the elite talent that he's draft projection would indicate yesterday. So I agree was the best player in the also the guy who's really impressive to me though. I don't know if he has any MBA futures. The shooter on Wofford. Oh, man. He just like he just can't threes left. And right like he's got a midsize player. And I don't know if he's going to be an NBA player, but he was impressive. His own show. A lot of good. I had them going couple rounds. 'cause you know, forget what the name of these schools are some of these weird sounding schools like Mari straight state in Wofford to have legit players riding Steph. Curry went Davidson him. Now, I where did rod periscope sentinel sentinel sentinel. Sure everybody knows that program. Dotty Pippen went to ten Arkansas date something like that. Yup. Exactly small school. Yeah. I mean, Senator Johnson went to Pepperdine which again, we see them occasionally make the tournament began Pepperdine back, then you would see a lot of players, you know. Okay. UCLA Indiana, North Carolina goes to the same. It's not. Well, the top recruits. Go to Duke Kentucky, those are the two places that attack North Carolina. It's pretty nice Carolina does pretty well without question. So if you look to the draft in three months, and let's say the Chicago Bulls with the first pick, right? I mean, they've already got Zach LeVine who I like a lot as a slasher. I'm a big fan of Lauri Markkanen the probably still take Zion Williamson, but they've got a look a little bit at Jaama ramp. Because now you would have the mid sized guy the big guy in the point guard. So I mean that could be on the table. Although again, how do you pass up Zion Williamson because you would look like a fool over the next fifteen years, if he turns out to be as great as a lot of people thinking will right. Yeah. And you know, the teams are more into this position lists basketball thing too. So I think it's sorta take the best player available approach. No matter what. And like you said, you would just look to foolish you. You'd be really costing yourself a job if he ends up turning out. Great. Even if Marantz really good too. I don't think it's going to be any debate. The ion he'll be one and then Moran, barring something, really odd. Be three right. Are the top three players two of them from Duke, and this young man, John Marantz who I like the fact that he's a sophomore. So in theory, he's gonna come the NBA little more mature than a freshman. Although Zeina Williamson seems like a really mature kid. It really does. I mean, he's he's as ryen russillo said this is like the first Duke player can remember in decades. It's actually like and route four 'cause they always have kind of the anti heroes, right? Whereas zion. Williamson is kind of like, a cartoon character a superhero. So you root for him. What's the highest draft pick the Celtics could get with that Sacramento pick. They could go as high as two could go ties to get a very low percentage of it happening so chance if it's one the seventy Sixers get it. Right. And then anything else the Celtics get it. Okay. Well, it's going to be a lottery pick 'cause now Sacramento can't make the playoffs. That would be interesting. Right. If they got the second pick, and again, it's not really gonna happen. But. Yeah. The very miniscule chance that it happens. Yeah. It would be great team the guy case Kyrie leaves. Yeah. I think actually the the Celtics wouldn't be opposed to drafting Barrett. Right. Yeah. Because he's a slasher mid-size guy, really good shooter. So I don't I don't know what they're what they would do. I mean, I don't even think it's worth talking about. Because the odds are so slim that they it's literally like winning the lottery, it's like us discussing right now where I should take Catherine Zeta Jones for our meal. Right. Exactly. So, but the Celtics I mean best case scenario in the draft is they would get to from the kings. And then if the grizzlies ended up with nine that's the best they can get from the grizzlies, right? And then they'll get the clippers pick which they only would have gotten into the clippers made the playoffs and the clippers gonna make the playoffs that's working out fine for them. And could be four first round picks. We'll be four first round picks with it depends on the grizzlies is not a sure bet they may. With eight worst record definitely protected or maybe four that you have at least three Gary if not for and again where those fall need, then maybe you can package them. Try to go get Anthony Davis in the off season with whatever talent you have to offer because those draft picks would be something. And look if you get the second pick. Now, you've really got something to offer to New Orleans for Anthony Davis, and then that may keep Kyrie Irving here. So you kind of put that altogether and see what's going to happen. Right. I mean, if you were able to get to that could enable you to potentially keep Jason Tatum in jail. Anthony Davis trade at I don't know again, it's such a long shot situation. But we'll see a teams have had faced long odds and won the lottery before it would just be the nightmare scenario is the kings outright win the lottery and get the topic. And then it goes to the seventy six that would be a nightmare scenario. Williamson with the seventy Sixers. Yeah. So then you're telling Gary, so, but I I mean, that's it's like a point. Five percent chance of talking about. But probably not going to happen. So the big star the day, of course, was John Moran for Murray state and the coach who's getting the most heat today is Tom Izzo. Michigan state or guy beats. Yes, my guy. They beat Bradley seventy six sixty five in a real struggle for them. It was closed for thirty five minutes. They pulled away to win by eleven during a time out Tom Izzo got in the face of Aaron Henry, and let's hear how this was described on CBS. Coach.

"Three twelve advanced including liberty. You know about Murray state and Oregon with the win against Wisconsin UC Irvine is well, and and UC Irvine fits the theme of this tournament because you have six schools including Wofford including liberty their first ever NCAA tournament victories. That's a big deal. What it does for your school is amazing? It really is. I mean being being a part of that of Manhattan. In ninety five. It's you know, the team is not the most important part of the university. But it's like the front porch of the house. It's the part people. See I most people don't even know where Wofford is Spartanburg South Carolina, but a win like this just elevates the entire university. Same thing for Davidson from David's in the same conference Davidson is in well, not anymore. But was in the so in two thousand eight Steph curry that team put them on the map. If Wofford can be Kentucky, you better get ready to build some new dorms because sixteen hundred enrollments gonna go to about twenty five hundred in like a year. I don't know what tuition. Which is going to go up about twenty percent. Let's start with that game is the second feature game of the day. It'll start a half hour after the conclusion of LSU in Maryland. It is Wofford in Kentucky. Wofford's one Twenty-one in a row. They beat Seton Hall. We know they can shoot threes. Their offense is grilling good. How can they handle the interior though, other wild? That's a problem because this this wildcat team dominates the offensive glass. Now, we're not sure about PJ Washington. But that won't matter. They are one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country. And yeah, they got Cam Jackson, who's a terrific big guy. But he's probably not enough. At least a slowdown the onslaught at the glass on the other hand Kentucky is also now figuring out a way to garden Fletcher. Mcgeown he got to you got to control him. They have the guards to do it. I want wanna see how offer gets Fletcher McGee open because he only needs a little crack, and he doesn't even need that. I'm curious about the day in Hartford. That's obviously John Miranda's there. And that's going to be the headline of the day, particularly if he has another moment when we're going to be comparing him to Steph curry and the moment that happened two thousand eight or they got to the elite eight, but it's not just that game with Florida state friend. You got the. Defending champs and Villanova taken on Perdue with a spot in the Sweet Sixteen again, these two teams who are in Boston last year in the Sweet Sixteen they didn't meet, but they were there, and they know each other well programs of similar the coaches are similar they coach tough. They coach disciplined basketball. There's a great deal of respect there. And it's a great three six matchup because think about it. Both teams lost four key guys from those great teams year ago. One one became big ten champs and one repeated as big east champs pretty good, and your they are coming off games the other day. I mean, they had to gut out some wins. Both particularly Villanova in their four point victory against Saint Mary's. And then there's the John Moran factor. Right. But but I think as we came to learn the other day, he's the headline. He's got some other players with him. Yeah. He really does shack Buchanan and cowards and the way they play is not unique to the mid major level because they play they got size inside for their league. Not for the high majors. But. They spread you out and who wouldn't want to play with John Moran because he's such a great passer and for him to get sixteen assist. You gotta make shots. And they certainly certainly can do that. When we return we'll get you set for the day in Jacksonville, working Takis taken on Wofford and the opener between LSU Ed Maryland, it's on the other side from the Westwood One NCAA radio network. This is the tournament today. No. It's me the designer jeans in your closet, the back of your closet. What am I doing here? Would you keep caviar in the back of your fridge with the catch up an old milk? I don't think so. So what happened to us? I mean, have you seen my label? I used to summer in the Hamptons. And now I'm stuck behind a pair of sweats. I never really fit you quite right. And one of my pockets is so small you can't even squeeze your hand into it. But it's all about the look, and I look good. I need to get back out on the scene. So I can be seen, you know, going fancy parties getting expensive iced coffees..

"I don't think anything will be different. They can defend they can lockdown. Anybody? No doubt about it. Can they score? That's always been the problem with Virginia. I don't see anything being different disco around. I just don't. That's just how look at them. When I think about the team, listen, everybody's gonna talk about how. The Duke blue devils and the team to beat with John Williamson. We all know that player of the year. We get all of that. We understand it. RJ Barrett's no joke either. But I got news for you. I think Carolina can be I think Carolina can too can win the national championship. I really really do. I really believe that when I look at Carolina I say that's the team that could take out do hell with Zion in return and having a monster game with thirty one in eleven Friday night. Carolina only loss I gave out one point. Wise something than an ill advise fall away long too. I think they're Carolina wins their game. Although I'll give due credit because Carolina did have a thirteen fourteen point lead and lost. It. But I look at Duke. Okay. North Carolina, central congratulations. My condolences to you ahead of Thomas. You'd be North Dakota state that would be fun to watch though, Duke North Carolina central only because they're both like ten miles apart endure North Carolina Mao neck of the woods, VCU and Yussef the winner that would be next. Saint Louis Virginia Tech, Mississippi State liberty. They're all in that bracket. Here's what I'm thinking about. It's definitely coming down a Duke. Michigan state. I can't see those see Louisville at number seven in the east are not. So these gentlemen, I have not gotten over watching Louisville blow that game Duke earlier in the season when they were up like twenty one twenty two points, and they collapsed because they're back court. It was like Duke resembled. Freddy Krueger at Friday, the thirty or Jason and Friday the thirteenth. I mean, those back court players those guards for Louisville looked absolutely positively petrified. If they will win a diaper tell you the check it they looked like they wet their pants. They look that scared. They looked that scared because Louisville look at skate, and I'll believe basketball as a guard oriented game. But tick yearly today's day and age where you've got to have good God play. You gotta have some perimeter shooting to win a national championship. I'm of the mindset that Louisville as a number seven seat. I expect them to get bounced out. It wouldn't surprise me of Minnesota beat them. It really wouldn't. But you was in that bracket. Virginia Tech with who. By the way, beat Duke there in that bracket, they could actually end up facing Duke in the elite eight keep your eyes on that matchup. But liberties twenty six candidates debate him. Then we go over to the west region. Michigan. The number two seed in the west you lost Michigan state three times if you lost Michigan state three times, you aint beaten, Gonzaga my opinion, several cubes that zone is difficult for most teams to figure out. I think more few and his crew would be able to figure that out. Plus, they're accusing have some problems with Bela heads Marquette against Murray state. Now that's the game. I'm looking for. That's the game that I'm looking for Jaama reverses, Marcus Howitt. That's the game. I'm looking for right there because I'm gonna tell you right now that fit versus twelve Mark Thursday, four thirty PM. Get check your local listings, though, miss that. Because I'm here to tell you something right now, there's going to be special to behold, make no mistake about it. John Miranda average twenty four ten this year. Twenty four and ten..

"You think Wofford we'll take them Wofford's that hot right now. Wofford's? Really good offered is really good. So it'd be interesting now, I'm just like to give you some. You have probably a perfect bracket. So Louisville a five point favorite over Minnesota. They will play at twelve fifteen on Thursday into Moines Kentucky at twenty two and a half point favorite over Abilene Christian. That is a game down in Jacksonville, a Marquette four and a half point favorite over Murray. State. That's a game. The the racers will play in Hartford on on Thursday. And then the the other team from Kentucky northern Kentucky, a fourteen point underdog to Texas Tech who is one of the sleeper picks by a lot of different people across the experts across the country. Indiana's the top seed in the NFC the hoosiers will play in the tomorrow night beginning in Bloomington at seven o'clock against Saint Francis of Pennsylvania, the other number one seeds in the UNC, Greensboro TCU and Alabama Duke is on top of the AP poll the final AP poll of the season followed by Virginia and North Carolina giving the ACC one two and three in the final poll. That's the first time that that has happened in college basketball it happened one time back in the seventies. College football, the blue devils twenty nine and five or the number one seed for the tournament Kentucky number seven in the final poll there. I guess a dare I guess that the football top three were out of the SEC back in the cell. It was not. No, it was not it was I think. The big. I'll look that one up. That's a good trivia question. Yeah. I will look I will look that up Murray states. John Miranda first team all American by the United States basketball Writers Association of America. Joining Moran on the first team RJ Barrett. Talion Williamson from Duke, Tennessee's grant Williams and Gonzaga's really hush Shimura PJ Washington named third team the women selection show tonight at seven o'clock Terry on ESPN, Louisville likely number two seed could be a number one seed they're going to host next weekend. No matter what Kentucky's expected to be a five or six in Indiana was on what the the women's committee is calling the debatable eight they released it last night. Four of those eight will make the field for won't. And lastly, some sad news from horse racing pioneer the Nile the Sira for two thousand fifteen triple crown winner. American Farrell died. Suddenly today at Winstar farm that thirteen year old son of empire maker bread mayor this morning, and then started acting uncomfortable. Once he was back in his stall. He was in route to the clinic when he passed away that sports NewsRadio eight forty you're not going to save. So I am too. I will then. Instead, that's the way. That's the way to go out. I was gonna say it. He was working breathing shit. They took him back to his stoli's. I'll have one more cigarette and good night everybody. He's gone. All right. Thanks don't. Appreciate them. New york. Now citizens Union Bank. Bloomberg money news. Hello, Donna Wilson. Well, hello. We're talking about horses. Doing what nature tells them to do? It's not funny. I know one last kick and good night. Everybody. Oh god. All right now. I gotta get serious. Let me just focus. Okay. US stocks are pushing higher led by a rally in energy, and financials, the Dow is up thirty one points S and P five hundred.

"Radio. The player of the week is brought to you by Grainger, let's take a look at the one who got it done. And this week the player of the week brought to you by Grainger is John Miranda who plays for Murray state. I don't want to say he's a great kept secret anymore at this point. Because if you don't do John Miranda's you should by now. But at one point he was a great secret when he was not even getting looked at by Murray state. One of the assistant coaches wants to go get a hotdog or something at the food stand because he was hungry as a concession stand. Then he saw job Moran called the head. Coach Murray state said you gotta come down and see this kid, and they eventually did offer him and his stock is going in the right direction as many people now for most of the year with Zion number one. And then Barrett number two in the draft a lot of these mock drafts that I read now have John Mirant as the number two player expected to go in this summer's NBA draft. He's a sophomore six three bucks. Seventy five has comparisons. To Russell Westbrook. Over the weekend. And this is a game, that's typical form now. But I like to give a little attention here had twenty five points, fourteen assists, eight rebounds in a victory. One of two seventy over eastern Kentucky Murray state is twenty one and four their next game. And the next chance that you could see John Moran play is Thursday at eight pm eastern. So that's definitely going to be one of the stories for the NC double A tournament is John Mirant, and he is the player of the week. And that was brought to.

"The answer. Eric Metaxas show, but first two very important questions. Have you ever tried to stack boggles while wearing boxing gloves? Also, did you know that marigolds into radium hate each other? Absolutely. And now your host Eric Metaxas. I gotta say Alvin. Hear that fun fact about miracles geraniums hating each other. I like how come I didn't learn that in school? I don't know. But we got to get beyond the hate. That's all I'm gonna say, I know that's my opening statement. Okay. Well, listen, we got a couple of exciting things only to first of all in a few minutes. The great John's Miranda. John's Mirroring is coming on the program to share his he kind of has a different take on the news than anyone else. And he brings Beagles because not bagels vehicles in anyone else. You could say that it's unique. So the great John's miraculous in our to we're probably going to have Moore's Mirek and our two. But then we're gonna talk about Oscar Wilde. Oh, yeah. You're not gonna believe this. What we have. We have news on Oscar Wilde. Oh boy. Age six yesterday, and I looked into it. It's all true. Okay. But before that, okay? Remember yesterday? We were talking about theater in New York. We were we're talking about a man for all seasons being in New York now mullahs turns out that there's other theater in New York. Yeah. I found out that a that a friend of ours is New York Dingaan usually known for the'sour. Hey, interesting who knew but all I can tell you is that now and Rickman who was on this program before with his his lovely wife. Not the other one the lovely one. Okay. And I gotta say I just found out that he's putting heavier served raw that we saw. Again. Why don't we get him on the program to talk about it? Oh, look there. He is now. Alan welcome to the program. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Listen when I found out that served raw was was on again. I said it would be wrong not to tell my audience. So I hope you don't mind the free publicity. But I gotta tell you try to keep the the show a secret. We we have a river exclusive. I know. Well, listen in a way, you are. And I'll and I'll say this no joke. You do Yiddish theater in Yiddish most people think that that's not possible. So I want you to tell my audience our audience how this is not a joke yet issue theater happening in in New York. What happens to be happening right now? You know, what I'm saying is how is it explained to my audience, the concept of what you do because I'm know I'm assuming that a lot of them hurt us when you were on here last year. But. A lot of people are tuning in right now and saying what? All right. So here's here's what we do. So. Later in New York. Obviously is nothing new. It's been going on since eighteen eighty two one time. There was there was tons and tons and tons of. But nowadays, there's there's still more of it than than thinking. What we do. Our show is called w served raw, and it's the same material that much of the same material that fiddler on the roof was based on. But the difference is we do it in the language. It was written in. And of course, we do it. I was as it was originally written, which is a very different thing. That would just. There are other roof. So who created and the whole bunch of other stuff was he's off called the the Jewish. Mark Twain, brilliant, brilliant funny. Funny guy, wonderful wonderful world class writer. Anyhow, he was a humorous and erode the stories a humorous, I didn't know they had them credible did Jewish people tend to be very very serious. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Even to come up with one joke. Schwetzingen come up with a single stinking joke. So you're telling me that that the Hebrew nation has been able to to get funny now. And again, I I didn't know that. I didn't. I was as gentiles that was idea where funny guys doing stick all the time. That's why I don't know if you know, the the borscht belt was of course, a vast gentile conspiracy. They didn't make the borscht very well. Either had. No, it's funny. Isn't it? People don't know that the borscht belt was all a Goya show phonies, and now now now we're putting it out there. On the culture. Jack Carter was a member of the Royal family. That's how British he was. But it's it's it's incredible. And. And it turns out shaky geen green was was a Greek like me, it's very interesting. And Jackie Mason is a closet Presbyterian. I've.
