"Breaking news from the NFL's Spaulding. The Packers are awarded ex Seahawks defensive tackle Demon snacks. Harrison off waivers. This is an interesting story. Several weeks ago, you Harrison was out looking for a team. He was on waivers, and the Packers and Seahawks among other teams were interested in his services. He ended up going to Seattle but was a healthy scratch last weekend. Harrison decided I'm done not going to do this anymore. I'm not gonna try and steal time from a younger player who is deserving of snap. So I'm done. He's 32 years old. He was initially signed to the Seahawks practice squad. October 7th. He was an all pro in 2016. We're not that far removed here. Now he comes to the Packers. It helps bolster up a run defense that has been getting better, but it's still around the middle of the pack. Fauci says to give COVID-19 vaccine to Biden, Harris, Trump, Pence

"He's 78 years old. He says he doesn't want to skip to the front of the vaccine line. But Willie and should he is the incoming president. How does this work? Well, it sort of depends on what we think of as skipping the head of the line, because, uh, if you were the president elect of the United States, there's a pretty short line in front of you. No matter what, Um Because there are seriously issues of continuity of government and I don't even think it was Inappropriate for the Trump administration, though they've since reversed it to say we should get vaccinated look continuity of government matters. Now, this trump White House could have taken much more precautions much more seriously, internally and externally and had fewer cases of coronavirus. True. Still for the maintenance and the effectiveness of government. I think the White House currently the incoming biting transition team, and every senior person on that should get back to making earlier rather than later. Because it matters that they're available and there to do the job at the highest levels of the American government, So I don't think it's a political matter. That should be one that is pointed at the Trump White House or the incoming Biden White House. I do think it's just a matter of Do we want people at the top of our government to be the healthiest they can be to handle this situation? I think the answer universally is yes. So Is there a line that super long in front of the President elect? No, there isn't so moving to the front of that. If you will doesn't seem to me to be a political issue, it seems ah good governance issue. I agree with you. Let me ask you about the line. Where do we draw the line? The vice president, members of Congress staff who helped them the Supreme Court. Local legislators. Where should the line be? It's an interesting and very valid question. Because look not everyone is equal. I would I would say this. I mean, this is this is a great question. I'm giving you the top of my head answer, clad, not burrow down. I don't know if there's any legal definitions that have to be dealt with, But I would say President, vice president and all senior staff Would say, every governor in every state of the union I would say the speaker of the house and the leadership in Congress and then You know, hold off a little bit, but Hold off for how much longer look Um Congress and state legislatures have equities and responsibilities. But are they Maurin important than Frontline? Health care workers? No. Are they more important than protecting those who have been? Most seriously affected and we're death rates proportionately have been very high nursing homes. No, so I think you get those populations first, and then you move to the upper echelons. Of the federal and the national Legislatures at the highest levels there. Reagan file members of the state Legislature, You got to wait a while You got to be like me. Yeah, Springtime summer time. So I guess I'm not vital. I'm not. I'm not, you know crucial to Ah, America's success where the Corona virus is concerned. I'm an ordinary Person like everyone else, and I want a lot of state legislatures right around my end of the line sometime this spring or summer. Hey, major, You're a baseball guy. Did

'Healing is coming': US health workers start getting vaccine

"Biggest vaccination campaign and U. S history is officially kicked off today, with health care workers rolling up their sleeves for shots to protect them from Cupid 19. NBC's Mark Miller joins us from New York where the first vaccines in the country were administered. Mark tell us about that. Yeah, that's right. The first person believed in the country to have gotten the vaccine was a woman named Sandra Lindsay. She's a registered nurse. He's actually a critical characters at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York, So she was the first person this morning you sat down in the chair, rolled up her sleeves and got the shot. The Governor of New York was on a video feed watching and, you know, she basically said that she felt very comfortable that she's very hopeful as a result of this and She felt, she said she that she feels like healing is coming that I'm sure someone who works in critical care for the last 9 10 months. It's been a difficult, difficult stretch. Mark. I'm sure other first responders. I'm sorry. Frontline workers had the same reaction. Other people, other nurses and doctors. What was their reaction is well, getting being the first in line to receive this vaccine. Yeah, I think I think it's a similar sentiment for most people is this idea that you know the phrase that I've seen so many times from so many people is light at the end of the tunnel, But I think the other part of that phrase that we've been seeing a lot today, too, is It is a long tunnel, because right now, you know, these are the first doses that are coming and it's you know, for example, one at one doctor said that you know he was happy that They now can prevent covert 19 not just treat covert 19. But remember, these are just the first few million doses that are going out right now. They're maybe 20 million people vaccinated by the end of the month with this visor vaccine. But, you know ah, anywhere in the order of 70 to 80% of the U. S population is what's needed for that kind of herd immunity to really, really kick this thing back and potentially get our lives back to normal. So that's where I think you're seeing that phrase that, Hey, there's light at the end of the tunnel, but it's still a long way. It's gonna be months before the general public. If you don't have a health condition if you're not in a high risk population, those kinds of things that might be months before you really get to sit down and get this vaccine.

"In studio and John Mercure our colleague up in Toronto Canada, just got in John. What are you going to be up to the next day and a half as you get ready for game six? You know, a couple of things I'm going to try to actually track down bucks fans. I'm gonna try to take the pulse, and I'm really gonna compare it to the mood in the city, amongst piranha Tony and what it was before games. Three and four versus what it is. Now. I think we all know the answer. I really feel a little bit of a swagger here. And when we were earlier in the week, it was a very nervous energy. I mean they had everything to lose their down to protect the home court, and they were very nervous and they talked about being nervous as it. We'll take the pulse of that. I think it's definitely changed a little bit. Hopefully there's time for some protein in there somewhere and then we're doing the afternoon show from here on location, three o'clock tonight that will get rolling. And then bucks tip off host with Greg tomorrow from Toronto, and Doug point, they can do this. They've won in Toronto. They want a lot of places on the road this year. They can do this. They've just got the predict together for entire ballgame. The great thing about that is if the bucks can win game six game seven on Monday night at Pfizer form would be electric and not that they didn't five wasn't and one wonders. How many beers David box Yari would chug for game seven. He did a three the other night. Now he did four last night, four last night. He started out with three then we down the first two then he challenged Rogers, Aaron then sift is beer daintily, and then pointed back to back yard and then box Yari opened up his throat and just he doesn't even does he swallow. I'm not sure how that goes. So it's just you just pours it down, which is impressive. I'm more like Erin. I should make fun of Aaron Rodgers sipping his beer, daintily. I can't slug beer either never could. But and then in the fourth quarter where they were trying to rally again, it was during another time out, and they flash the bacteria on the Jumbotron once again, and he's like, I don't have one until somebody handed him one, and then there was some joke in the stands with jerseys who is chugging them as well. And I say Tim oke with love Rodgers shouldn't have done that Roger should have stayed out of that contest. I love Aaron Rodgers but he can't hang with, you know. Now. And then Christian yelich down one too, so. Yeah. How cool is that we have MVP's to sit and all of that, that arena. That's, that's pretty cool. That's not bad. Bad thing. No, John, you mentioned Putin for the folks who don't know what is that. Oh, it's amazing. It's like a fresh cut French fries, the basis is that it's fries, and then there's cheese curd down there, which we're used to, and then, like a little gravy Brown sauce. And then it's like a baked potato jazz it up all different ways. You can get sausage on there. You can get bacon on there. Get different kinds of cheeses on their chives and it is absolutely incredible. Actually, it sounds amazing. You lost me in French fries, though. The other stuff is just like gravy, like all the good things in life, all piled on a stack of French fries. Now, did they have did? They invent she's cursor. Did we invent them in Wisconsin? All we did. And ours, rashly better to squeak year, a little better. But, you know, I mean you put cheese on anything. That's good, right? Absolute. Lisa John McCain. "To work with John Mercure at the radio station. John got me involved with the honor flight this year. I had the thrill of a lifetime to go to Washington DC with Vietnam war veteran absolutely spectacular opportunity had a chance to sit down with John and talk about his experiences with honor flight merry Christmas. John McCain happy holidays Steve merry Christmas. Thanks for having me. Absolutely. So one of the things that I'm doing my Christmas specials here. I'm talking about the the great folks that I work with, but the, but the causes that you guys get involved with for you. I know it's honor flight why did you pick that organization to be a part of? I love what you're doing. By the way. That's so cool to recognize the good things that happened in our community honor flight, I have a military background in my family. I didn't serve but my grandpa was in World War Two one was Pearl Harbor us on a ship. They got bombed at World War Two and he survived. I had another grandpa who was a paratrooper in World War Two. So it's Ben close to me forever growing. And then I was asked as a member of the media to be a guardian on an honor flight. So I went and got hooked up with a ninety two year old guy. I didn't know as a member of the media's name was Wally. He was a World War Two guy, purple heart battle of the bulge went through Europe. And I went and was so moved by that day by the organization that decided to start to volunteer just kind of under the radar. I volunteered and tried to help where I could. And I fell in love with it and helping our veterans and telling their stories and seeing them and eventually they asked me if I'd be a member of the board of directors. So now, I'm on the board of this fantastic organization, which does so much for our veterans, and that's how I became involved. And I just think at the end of the day, Steve whether it's World War, Two or Korea or the guys coming back and gales coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan, what they do that none of the rest of us ever have to think about or most of us would never do need deserves to be recognized. And I got to be part of that this year as I went to Washington DC, and I had a Vietnam vet and he had never. Been washing DC. That's amazing. And none of his family could go with them for financial reasons. So I was able to be as guardian and to watch him go through that day, the emotion when he saw the Vietnam memorial that wall, and you could see the emotion on his face and I interviewed him right right after you're gone by the incredible experience. I'll never forget it, and I've been to Washington DC probably one hundred times, but to see in that prism through. There is your is actually spectacular. Let's take a listen to one of your pieces. Scary situation do we know anything more about the motive behind all of this We may never, know the motor you know the the only person who knows why this. Was done shot, and, killed himself, at the end, of it all we? Know that two years? Ago he participated in and actually won the Madden competition last year. You did well this year he was, eliminated over, the weekend so there is some? Thinking, that it was his rage over losing that. Set him in there with guns and and opening fire although he brought those. Tons from Baltimore he purchased them legally in Maryland. And brought, them all the way down here. To Florida which would seem to suggest some kind of premeditation beyond just being angry at shipping LTd from. The from the tournament so I mean there's just no real clear motive. So that anybody can come up with this do we know anything about the, security at an event like this we're doing do people go through metal detectors anything like. That no at. Least not in this one you know it was. Being held in in what's called a gaming bar this is essential High tech? Arcade with flat screen stall on, the walls and? They, have console set. Up and chairs, where people come in and sit down and participate in a restaurant as. Well as far This entire area this little shopping district right alongside rivers is a gun free zone You know you're not supposed to have share but, there is no security per se in. Terms of event like there's no metal detectors no bag checks for anything like that sort of been. Fairly easy for someone, catches may included to take a gun in You know Jim just thinking about what the state of Florida. Has gone through in the last thirteen fourteen months if you go. All, the. Way back to the Orlando nightclub shooting I governor Rick Scott we hear. From him. What he. And so many leaders of that state of, had to go through an addressing these, these horrible crimes is almost unbelievable over the last, year or so yeah exactly a well. Was there was actually June of twenty sixteen years or so you're right you're right A little over two years that, this all the end, of the so we had a string of four of them essentially pulse nightclub the one at the airport at Fort. Lauderdale the parkland shooting out this one and governor Rick Scott is. At, a. Loss to to come up with solutions for it yet you know is. Running for. The Senate He's asked about this and and. You know, they've. They've tried to make changes in gun laws here in Florida for a sign that's been. Done in decades and still this this happened says, so, I mean. He just doesn't know I think everybody in the state is sort of confused as to, what what's do about this ABC news Jim Ryan with the latest set of Jacksonville, thank you, Jim appreciate you jumping on NFL teams prepping to cut their rosters..
