This is very interesting because one of the things that we were talking about earlier was the rationale behind people staying and having the reality that there is dual citizenship is something again that is, is very thought provoking. Because how do you manage that In this situation? How do you manage that Dual citizenship. How do you manage the relationship that you have with both extended family? In Kabul as well as the U. S. And it's going to be interesting. So I appreciate you sharing that and because I'm really going to be tuned in to see how they manage, you know, getting people out and back into America that have dual citizenship and is that something that Americans should be prepared for to manage. All right. They're saying Space Jam one now, So Oh, that's like, um, Okay, So our latest WTMJ cares Initiative is raising money to help renovate a room at the Penfield Children's Center. You may have heard of Penfield before. It's something that wtmj Jean Miller has been very Very supportive of over the years and raised a lot of money for over the last 20 years in Gene is now leading this WTMJ cares initiative. He joins us in studio. How you doing, pal? Doing great. Thanks for having me. All right. So tell us a little bit about Penn Field's been around a while over 50 years. Yeah, Yeah, it's it's one of those places. I think people hear about heard of. And then when asked, you know what What do they do? People go. I don't really know. It's a Children's center. Right? Well, they handle the neediest and the most vulnerable of our young population. Ages. 1 to 3. Kids with some really severe developmental challenges and then other kids who who aren't nearly as affected by such things, but they call mingle. They raise them together. They work with them together. They handle kids with behavioral issues, and also they have a Montessori school. They can take kids up to. I believe fifth grade, so they treat kids at all levels with all manner of Challenges as I said, But it's just a beautiful place. I got to know about 20 years ago through a mutual friend and I've been working with the member since and just touches your heart to see the That's just the kids but the families, Then those volunteers and PTS that work with these kids on a daily basis, They're saints. So the latest WTMJ carries initiative. You're running this one. The last one. This is it. Yep. And you want to raise some money? What exactly are you trying to raise money for? For Penfield? It's a part of the center that is it has a very scientific and antiseptic sounding formal name, But let's just call it what it is. It's a play center. It's an indoor play center that leads to not to replace center. It's 35 years old. It's seen better days. It needs some improvements. It's it's It's fine for the kids, but it could always be better. Things have changed over 35 years, materials designs and again. The big thing with Penfield is they want all these kids with all these different abilities and challenges to be together because they want kids to feel like kids, and this would really go a long way toward improving that any money we can raise? It's a big number that they need to pull this off. So anything we can get will go toward that. And it would just make Penfield and even more wonderful place. So for the next couple of weeks, you know you're going to share some of the stories of some of those directly impacted what we're going to hear. You're going to hear stuff from Christine Homes, the president and CEO, She'll do a much better job of explaining pen Fields mission and you'll hear from Jason Perry. He will explain what the need is with this specific playroom. Then you hear from some families. One story is very uplifting. Another one Also uplifting but with a bit of tragedy to it, and it just again makes you appreciate what these parents and kids go through and what Penfield does for them to deal with things that don't always play out the way you think they are, But you'll hear that as well. Former NBA Star Cedric Ceballos Battling COVID-19: 'My Fight Is Not Done'
"For prayers after spending several days in the hospital battling Covid 19 former NBA players. Cedric Ceballos has spent the last 11 days hospitalized in an intensive care unit with Covid 19, he announced on Twitter. The 52 year old is asking his friends and family for prayers while sharing a photo of him with breathing tubes. Caldor Fire: Fire's Footprint Grows Amid Expanded Evacuation Orders

NFL Proposes Plan to NFLPA for COVID-19 Weekly Testing

He's been exactly what the Brewers thought he was going to be when they signed him, but it feels like he took his game to another level this week. And I think going back to ST Louis, you know, 100% capacity, even though they didn't have four crowds at Busch Stadium. I think he really wanted to show up in his old ballpark this week because he did some really good things in that series in ST Louis. And of course, everybody's talked about the stolen base off of Jati, which was, I think more sentimental for him than anything else. But he hit really well in that series and made some great defensive plays in that series, and it carried over into the National series. The play. On Saturday night is one we're going to talk about when we talk about this season, and we talk about individual place That's going to be one of the three or four that we're going to be talking about when the season's over. It was such a high baseball IQ high awareness type of play, and it was a lot of fun. If you watched it on the replay. With the close up of Kolten, Wong is face as he Tennessee's out, that's not going to get it done. And then all of a sudden, he's like They're all going for it, and you can see his eyes get big and he races back with a sense of urgency to tag you can kind of see it developed just by watching his face. That was a really fun moment. More than anything, and I think you started to see it on the road trip. Yeah, the power wasn't there, but he's starting to get some doubles. He gapped a few baseballs. He started to have a lot of hard contact down in ST Louis and you look over his last 11 games and 10 starts in there. He's hitting 3 56 in that stretch. He has the two home runs, but he has some doubles in there as well. He's driving in runs. He's getting some hits with runners in scoring position, and I just think more than anything, he's getting some positive reinforcement. He's getting positive results. And when that happens, you just naturally press a little bit less. You can start to be yourself again, and we all know what Christian Yelich is like when he is himself, and I think we're starting to see it. Hopefully, it continues as we get ready for this big series with the Reds, but he even tweeted yesterday it It feels good to feel good. And so I think that's him. Acknowledging that he feels a little bit different. The timing looks better. That's probably the most simplistic way of putting it. The swing doesn't look a ton different, but the timing looks a little bit better. And I think he's getting a little bit more aggressive early in counts to where he was a little more passive. If you go back to June and early July, and I think those two things combined better timing and a little bit more aggressive when you go back to 18 in the second half and over the 19 season, go look up. How many? Oh one pitches. He hit out 02 pitches even but certainly early in the count home runs, he Get a ton of them. In those two years in Lane, Aaron asked me the Brewers top pitching prospect is settled in after his rough first start ever against the Cubs. Where does he factor in not only the rest of the way, but in the month of October? I think he can be a very versatile guy that can do whatever the Brewers need him to do. I think in a perfect world, he factors in as a bullpen piece, but there's also this thing about running these guys out there way beyond their career highs in innings. Over the course of this next month. And so you want to be careful with Corbyn Burns and Brandon Woodruff. And when Freddie Peralta comes back, so if you have a chance to slot him in every once in a while into the rotation, let him start to. I think that will be a key thing to keep the other guys fresh. So I think you'll see him do both. I think if you're looking at it more from a big picture, What would the postseason look like? From Aaron Ashby? Definitely a bullpen piece and a really nasty one. He's starting to throw more strikes. He's been able now twice. Over his last three outings to navigate some trouble in an inning, which I think is a big thing for a young pitcher, and anybody that's watching him knows how good the stuff is. This is really nasty stuff. He's going to be a really special pitcher. He's the next guy out of this group. The Brewers have found a way to really develop pitching and international. "Some hot dog and hamburger buns are being recalled some hostess, hamburger and hot dog buns are being recalled due to concerns over possible listeria and salmonella contamination. The pitching matchups through the series tonight, Brandon Woodruff against Tyler McGill tomorrow looks like Brett Anderson is going to come off the injured list to make the start will face off against Jacob Diagram. And then Corbyn burns against the old TBH coming up on Wednesday. I'm a little I'll be honest with you. I'm a little bummed. This is not a shot at Brett Anderson. But if you're going to face off against Jacob program, it would have been great if he was pitching against would drift or burns or Peralta just to have one of those great pitching matchups, But that's not not going to happen. But if they play each other in the postseason will happen. This is a this very easily could be a post season preview between these two teams. Brewers Get three All Stars. All pictures. When he came here was to become an organization that was very good at developing and Um, pinching and just helping pitching and identifying pitching and improving pitching. He's succeeded in his on his way, so I don't think he ever tell you he succeeded, but that he's on his way to making that happen. "Thought it would be a good idea to talk to somebody who fought for freedom who really understands what the flag is about What history is about what America is about. Charlie Miller is a resident of Birch truck. Castleman, Quantico. A great place. They're taking good care of them out there. And he took care of all the rest of us when he decided to sacrifice for this country all those years ago during World War two. Here's my conversation with Charlie Miller. Tell me how old you were when you decided that it was the right thing to do to join the military. How did you decide that? I was it just turned 17 with previously dropped the A bomb. And so I knew the war was coming to an end. I wondered. You know how our young fella's going to save the world for democracy now and then? The army needed occupation forces. So the old timers that had done all the fighting and so on could get home. And so they provided a two year in Lisbon. That would provide four years of a G I bill and with my rather limited income Father. I thought this is wonderful. Where did they send you? So you enlisted? Your parents gave their permission. Then what happened? I went to Fort Bliss, Texas. Two of artillery. For basic training. And then it was off to Korea as occupation forces. Wow. So you are a weapons platoon, Sergeant. What does that mean? The military. You know all these divisions. This was an Army infantry line company. We got off the boat at Inchon and then by train, narrow gauge train with lots of smoke in the Tunnels and I ended up at climbed you then they trucked us. From the depot in the middle of the night and brought us out to the camp. Interestingly, this all occurred on Christmas Eve, We sat down to Big Christmas dinner. Our first stay. There had only been in the service couple three months or so. And I was oldest man. Senior Enlisted men in the company When you think back about your time in the service, what are you most proud of the fact that I had the opportunity to serve? I think that's You went on the stars and stripes on her flight. Tell me about your honor, Flight experience. Oh, Can't put it in words is absolutely fabulous. It's from the five o'clock AM arrival. At the airport to the 89 o'clock. Return. To the airport. It's just Fantastic and The volunteers. That are and seems like hundreds of volunteers for all us all guys. So that it was a super smooth operation, and it was really exhilarating to be with a group of veterans. At all of the various that our insights That we went to Charlie. When people think about the Fourth of July, many people think about picnics and flags and parades. What does the Fourth of July mean to you? Yeah. Well, when you get old sometime, you might have spent reminiscing one of the things I remember that I lived in this little town that I don't know where he got the money. We used to. We used to have a nice backyard fireworks display. Language doesn't sound too important, but it brings everybody up short, too. Started take Take notice of Where they're at and where they've been, and How much we owe to others. When you think about things that have been in the headlines now, like people not so proud about the flag or people not wanting to sing the national anthem and all that stuff that's happened the past couple of years. How does that make your heart feel? It's extremely Depressing. And in fact, many of us older servicemen say I'm glad I'm old. They don't have to live with all the chaos and unpleasantness. And unkindness. And disrespectful. I want to thank you for your service. You served. You went overseas. You sacrifice you volunteered to be part of what was going on all those years ago. So thank you so much Charlie for your service. My pleasure. Thank you. Earlier today, I spoke with better Business bureau serving Wisconsin CEO Jim Temer for what to watch out for when snatching up those deals online and what you have to look out for our unsolicited emails, texts or phone calls anything that you do not initiate. They may claim you have a free gift waiting or there's a problem with delivery and you need to click on a link or give up some information. There's a real popular when our people will contact you claiming to be Amazon, and they have to fix an issue with your account. We hear people get this and they don't even have an Amazon account. And what they want is your credit card information or your login details or even remote access to your computer. What about fake websites and product photos? What do we need to look for? If we want to make sure it's a legit site. Well, first thing before you put any information, look up into the address bar and it should be https. That means it's secure or there could be a little gray or green padlock there. That's the first thing you want to look for. You also want to make sure you're putting in the accurate website. "He and his brother will fly into space. In July, they will join the highest bidder on the new Shepard suborbital vehicle operated by Blue Origin. Joining us now is a BCS Alex Stone, who has raised his hand to cover such events. I will cover it, but I do not want to go on it. Even if you said Hey, we've got a free seat.
