"Day. He got here as a rookie. And he continues to be to this day. He studies film he prepares and understands our game plan what we're trying to do as well as the opponent. He studied situations. And this is a very good situational football player with great awareness. He knows the rules, and he's always hungry to learn more. So if you give them more he's able to accept that process at understand it. And at some point utilize, it it might not happen this week might be a year from now, but he's the type of player that will come back and take something that you said rate a previous conversation. Unrelated overdue now and find some way to apply it to the present situation in any strange way, reverse that now have you learned from him. Oh, I've learned a lot tremendous amount. Absolutely. Yeah. I'm so fortunate to have the relationship with Tom that I've had and to be able to sit in the meetings with them and converse about our opponents and football and so forth. Lookie has the ball in his hand behind the protection with the defense coming out having to make those decisions. It's one thing to analyze it on film from a sideline copy. It's another thing to be standing out there on the field and have to deal with the timing and the physical aspect and consequences that are present when actually playing the game. So you know, I see it from a coach's perspective. He sees it from a player's perspective, Anna coach's perspective, but that players perspective is invaluable to me because I don't have that coach thanks so much. All right for say. Thank you. The incomparable, Bill Belichick. Well, his counterpart Sean McVay today. He just turned thirty three years old. He was hired at age thirty youngest head coach in NFL history today, it'll be the youngest to ever coach a Super Bowl game. He's from a football family, his father, Tim defensive back at Indiana grandpa. John McVay the forty Niners general manager the one five Super Bowl titles. John grew up right here in Atlanta, Marriott high school in Brookhaven. When on to play college football as a wide receiver Miami of Ohio left in two thousand seven then went on to coaching with the bucks to the Redskins to the Rams well when Jared Goff rookie seasons Owen seven throwing five touchdowns and seven picks fans and the media began writing him off and labeling him a bust. Enter Sean McVeigh since he's come to LA is throwing sixty touchdowns and nineteen interceptions. Well, Super Bowl winning coach Mike Holmgren spoke with the Rams head coach and asked him about his signal callers progression. You know, coach, I think one of the things that is so great about Jared is is that you know, when you look just really at his career trajectory. He's been a guy that's demonstrated that mental toughness to overcome some adversity even going back to his early career at cow where he's playing as a true freshman. It was tough early on. But.

"What is going on everybody? It's your boy middlekauff and a three and out pied cast back again Super Bowl week. It's finally here having the background actually turned it to the warriors game the media day. I can only take so much watched a couple minutes of McVay and Bella check and Bill is just in rare form of not saying anything. So I change the channel to the warriors game. But big show today. Thoughts on John McVay, waking up at the crack. Dawn the Pro Bowl disaster Brady says there's zero chance he's going to retire. You know, some parallels with Anthony Davis, you know, asking for trade Antonio Brown's situation. I think there's some interesting an interesting angle there on just the NFL in general Gruden in car. John Elway I guess is smitten four drew lock the Missouri quarterback. Now, there's a lot going on. And then as always you can follow me on any. Social media platform Twitter Instagram same handle at John middlekauff. And at the end of the show, I'll go middlekauff mail bag. And that's where I answer questions from my DM's. You guys slide up in it slide right into those DM's. And then I'll answer your questions. I guess celebrities and babes DM's are full of dudes so remind they just asking about football. You know, basically every questions so just light up in it. I'll answer anything. But I I want to start with this Peter King wrote his m QB article. That's now, I think on NBC it was obviously on S, I dot com forever m cube site, and he rode to work. I think it was either Friday morning or Saturday morning with Sean McVeigh might have been Saturday morning because they were leaving to the Super Bowl the next day. And he met him at his house for the thirty five minute drive. That's no traffic. So I mean, Jesus he's probably like two hours away from the facility if he left at a normal time at as he called it insane standard time, and he drove them to work at four ten and they got there like four fifty. He likes to be at work at five o'clock and someone asked me on Twitter. I think it was the other day just like what time do coaches, typically work. And I think this speaks for anyone in any profession. Anyone good at their job that usually makes a lot of money works long hours. You know, it's like, and I'm not saying, Sean McVeigh was not I'd think asking for credit. He's like if you want the interview the easiest time to meet in the house. This is when we leave and this when we left, but I think when you see it written down, it's pretty nuts. And I think listen, I grew up on a generation my dad, you know, like a lot of people listening probably his parents were of the World War Two generation. They raised him the kids that were born in the fifty sixties, whatever, you know, they come from that old school generation, you gotta work hard get up before the sun. Sun comes up don't come home till after the sun sets. And I think there's still a lot to be said about that. Listen anyone that's successful in any field. Even if you don't make a lot of money in your on your way, you work long hours. So you don't get credit for that in any business. Just kind of the standard. It's mandatory. But I also think like Sean McVeigh's clearly a morning guy to eat like my head. If I get up at four ten it wouldn't even function. I be useless unless I went to bed at like seven now in my Lazier than Sean McVay. Well, probably, but you know, some people just morning people. They get up at the crack and they're firing me personally. I'm I wouldn't say I'm a night owl. But I can do my best work from like, I don't know five to ten that's kind of a sweet spot for me from like ten to lunch. And then later in the day, everyone's different in the great part about two thousand nineteen is the way, you know. I think technology operates I can shoot emails from the treadmill? You know, I can tweet us some I do business in a ton of different ways..

"But the minute the production stops, you don't overlook it. This has been brewing for years. It's just now coming to the surface, and it's probably over very strange managerial approach to me. It's like, they're it's like, they'll have an open marriage. That's basically, what this is like, you know, look, I'll tolerated because she's just she's a ten and I'm a six that's what it feels like I just don't get it. I don't understand culturally. How that may. I don't either I don't understand the ovum marriage thing you're going to allow your wife to be with other dudes. But I mean the. I don't I don't. I mean, it's just it's it's like what what message does that send the rest of the team. When message does that send younger players on your team? And why are you expecting Tonio Brown to ever change how he acts if that if he's gonna continue to perform at that level? He has no fear. Like, he's going to do whatever he wants. It. Just doesn't make any sense to me. I understand Antonio Brown's responsible for his own actions. But I do think the culture that you establish at your organization matters. And all this tells me this is true is that it's not like this year's you're at the whim of your players. If this is how you approach which is which is why the Steelers traditionally and the NFL teams have have not signed long-term huge guaranteed deals because they want to be able to control egos like this because they don't they believe that if you pay a guy you've got guaranteed money, not have gone all in on on paying people. Just most of is goes, no question. But it's like a one a lot of one year deals. Did I also think that their their culture? Like, I think they've taken on the culture that Sean McVeigh has set which is we are pro player, we are a little more progressive and all that. But we're also here for one mission. We all have big names here. Let's all make it happen. I don't think that's happening with the Steelers. Finally, Bill Belichick doesn't like to reveal things before big games. John McVay a little bit different. He is a little more open when discussing how he plans to slowdowns Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. Yeah. It's a great challenge. I mean, there's a reason why he's arguably one of the greatest of all time because you know, he does an excellent job of identifying whatever defensive structure in whether you wanna pressure whether you want to try to put pressure with a four-man Russian play loaded zone or so man principles behind it. He's got such an ownership on being able to get the ball out of his hand in a timely manner. And then he's got guys that can separate that's going to be a key to try to get him off of his rhythm, which not many people have successfully pretty elaborate, Sean McVay way of saying we gotta get hands on Tom Brady. You got to push them off the middle. You got gotta pressure them up his spot. Yeah. You just mentioned a much cool. Football terms. Basically, we're going to need Donald consumer flat. And then one good time. Good good enough. That's joy Taylor with the news. Well, that's the news and thanks for stopping by heard lie Rabo moments Seaney as a Fox Sports boxing analysts. And of course, PBC fight night Saturday that's tomorrow. January twenty six comes to FOX. He joins us now in the heard here on Fox Sports radio and the iheart radio app..

"But that's not what the guys do lambs thinking right in here. He'll jump all over me right now. When I'm bout to say did the Rams win the game or the saints lose the both both. I mean, look you gotta look at Sean Payton for how he handled that clock situation towards towards the end of the game. He threw the ball. And I don't know the hundred you hit the one time. You don't hit it you lose? That's what happened. I don't even. So you lose your shirt in Vegas. I continue to marvel over the Rams my Los Angeles Rams to the Super Bowl my favorite team of saying that because it's not true a few of praise. Well, because they swear the kiss death in the movie where they swear out like the brother in the back right there. I can get to you. Here's what I would say about the the game. When I look at it as I keep replanted in my mind or watching highlights and get back to it. It wasn't even the end of the game that costs the saints to gain. It was the fact that they left eight points on the field. Yeah. When they got those with should have been it should those eight points should add it on. They should've scored touchdowns Twenty-one enough instead of kicking field goals if it's twenty one nothing, you know, by playing at twenty one nothing in the first quarter. He's sitting there and you look like Dana. I know we could come back, but you're not gonna even the. Make twenty point is hail to come back from twenty one point actually there in that environment. Did you think jump all over you with the saints lose of the Rams win? Because you say I'm not giving the Rams crane. No because the saints had to make a bunch of mistakes to give the Rams an opportunity to cash in on those mistakes. It's both in look at that. And I say to myself shot certainly at the end of the game was a huge mistake. All the coaches, not all the coaches would at least three of the coaches, even John grooten wouldn't have thrown in that situation. He would run a ball. But also, man. The world is medicine. He knows outta here. Bro. What is this like eggplant? Mom. Sure. That's what it is. But I'm not touching that. Understands Jon Gruden in that situation wouldn't call that particular play. I learned as you continue to, you know, five mystery coaches that might call that same pledge. He would never do it Dungy wooden Mike Martz would. But and the same thing would probably happen. John. John. And I know one other guy that would do it March John McVay would probably do it. They would do that. Probably. He would not do that. I bet he would. He would I promise you. He would not do that. I bet he would many. Why both you make your case why? Because he's just as aggressive as the other two guys were talking about Sean McVay and Mike, but that's not a grise address not aggressive of stupi. Well, I mean aggressive like the Super Bowl instead of handing it Tamar, Sean, you try to grow it be. It was the right call versus what the defense New England had on the field. It's it's all true aggressive you had single coverage. Mike Now, Sean McVeigh probably say the same thing we have the advantage on the outside. We feel Justice comfortable throwing the football. That's what Sean Payton, Sean Payton shop Hanes mistake is. It was incomplete he has too many damn plays. No the mistake. Was he missed too many? Called the role play. Actually was the play was there. But they tagged it when they tag it. Drew Brees got off of it instead of sticking with the Rudd. He went with the check with me that just saying even if we got even if we lost two yards. So what should have come up? Sideline is. Hey, drew, stay with the play. No matter. No, man. No check with no matter. What your stay with all say, right? Thirty five thirty five bucks. Check with me. You don't. Oh. Now. Dimarco here. We've got the Rams cheerleaders here we've been housing Marty. Got chicken wings Covent. Thank you tomorrow. Do you get that emojis? I am not. Trying to set me up. See don't don't fall Mark come on Alvin and the tailpipe happening. Here. Yes. Thank you. So Lutely, you guys are to Alanna, right? When do you leave?.

"Skip was passing the fears. Was it a rule that was instituted this year? So it's been going on for a while. Why? Now, you see in any goes to something we've talked about skip. We're we're not nearly as concerned about things that don't affect us. We've been talking about that last a lot over the last couple of years about things that don't affect us seem to have no interest in, but that's a fish. I'm gonna fry another day right here. I'm gonna keep this right here. We're talking about you, see what what what transpired skip is that. So what about a call? I mean that Prescott you mentioned it got hit in his head that involve flag should Jason get been able to review that because that would have been a lot of Matic I down. It did Jerry Goff Sunday on second and goal. And you gotta face masks on the scramble should John McVay to review that you see the rules of already slated for the office. Get at some point in time. You gotta let you got the incidental contact. You got all that you got the defense receiver you got targeting. This is why you see. Thirteen fourteen guys throw for four thousand yards in a season. You guys getting five thousand and fifty is commonplace. You almost disappointed if you don't have a guy or two guys that have five thousand yards in the season. So the offense it's already have so much. Slanted in their direction. I cannot believe this. So this is the first time that of call and gone against the team. And I get it at the moment is the NFC championship game. You want step away? I get all of that. But it's hard for me to believe that there has not been agreed just called. It has happened over the course of NFL history that's gone against the team that prevented him because what have we ever every coach that I've said that I've had and I played twenty six years of organized football from peewee to JV high school to college the pro scale, and if in every coach said, we don't blame the official is not one call is not one play and lo and behold, if a play go the gift, you we'll throw all of that out the window. Now, we're going to start blaming the official really. What about you? Drew Brees did not play. Well, you had thirteen nothing lead in the first quarter. What about that this? So I just wanna know window that stop. So what are we gonna do every? Because I can assure you get scared that guy, you know, what I'm gonna miss this guy. I ain't gonna call it because we're gonna talk about Andy Reid is that high. He said the guy had had his hand on the flag. So and he he threw the flame. So Andy Reid is going to be upset that he interjected himself. Sean Payton, though, the other hands up saying that the guy didn't objective so who's right who's wrong here. Don't do this because you opened up a can of war of you going down the slippery slope that there's no coming back from. And I just wanna know where does it stop? What's not going to be so wise holding why defense a PI more important than offensive holding? I don't think it would be. But I definitely don't think this should be revealed. What is the most significant penalty in in NFL football as opposed to college football? It's a pass interference. It's the most penal of all the penalties because it's a spot foul. And so if you throw a sixty yard pass it can be a sixty yard flag. Right. As opposed to college football where I would. I would teach my kids to just grab them. Oh, yeah..

"Like Sean Payton, Charlie weis, Dan, Henning off its coordinators at I've had in my in when I play they were able to move me around and certain situations that made people uncomfortable. Like, I remember when we played against Dion Sanders and Dallas Cowboys when I was the New York Jets Dion was at the height fast much faster than me the whole deal. But what Dion was uncomfortable doing was playing inside? So we did is we basically for made in me to the slot. The entire game. It made him have to go inside where he was uncomfortable. Now I had the entire field to to play with and he was out of his comfort zone. So things like that. You'll see Sean Payton try to take advantage of in ways. Phillips trying to stop. Yeah. It's going to be a fascinating thing. So so to answer your regional question. Travis I'm picking the Rams, but I think I'm picking with my heart more than my. The reason. I'm picking the ramps is I think shelving maintains that defensive linemen they lost a big deal for them. I think that's a big blow to the saints. And I also think that having a keep to leave makes at least another weapon you can use against Michael Thomas. But I don't I think Michael Thomas is going to get his. I mean, I just think he's that good. He is. So so it's I think it's going to be a close game. I can't wait to watch it. I'm going to pick the Rams, but but homefield against the saints in the dome if if they pull it off it'll be shown McVeigh's biggest win as a coach. It'll be obviously the biggest win for the Rams since they won the Super Bowl and Saint Louis, it's a huge huge chore, but I'm going to I'm going to pick with my heart and pick the ram Michael Thomas, gut after Marcus Peters in the first game. He was hot afterwards. And we know what he said about Sean Payton, we'll get a bowl of Gumbo. Next time. I've got something for him. He's kind of backing off on it a little bit want you to listen to this John. Here's Marcus Peters. Gumbo thing. John McVay just hollered about soup, but Marcus does it make it more fun to kind of have, you know, fantastic that back and forth. My coaches, a fiery coach, I'm a fiery player, we have fun with these things internally. We're gonna try to lead you ought to be the media. So y'all do gonna do with it by saving. I got the most respect for the science and a head coach. Organization of things like that. Now, we ready to play just as much they're gonna be ready to play China play a game China talk about no Gumbo. All that stuff afterwards. Just playing nice at this point that he's still hot. Or is he trying to walk that back? I both. And I he took down the tweet because somebody asked him to you know. Key. You are really confident player, and you would say things what really whatever you wanted to still do. Yeah. Marcus peters. Probably had tried to do that. He feels on his confidence. And I think somebody probably asked him. Hey, man. Let's not make this about Gumbo. Let's make it about the game. And he team player. He took it down. I had zero problem with the tweet. I kind of wish you would have left it up Kia was one of the first people that bought your book. Gimme the damn ball. Guys should buy another copy. I'd be I'd be happy to if you still get residual. Yes. The I like guys who kind of put it out there and talk, but Travis I understand why did it which is why I'm saying it's a little of both. I think he was probably asked. Hey, man. Let's make this about we and not about me, and he was happy to do that. But let's face it, Sean Payton noticed something about that matchup in week nine and he wanted when Michael Thomas. When the game on that seventy yard touchdown pass, seventy two. They will wait key. They were waiting for that weren't they they were waiting for that match up to get him isolated one on one where they knew he didn't have help and Thomas torched them..

"I'm tired of people talking about how he deals with the media. I mean, how was Todd Bowles with the media? You didn't love the way the media, but he's one of the nicest guys that ever coached. Right. But what he didn't give the media great answers. So he's a that's a that's a problem. It's about winning you going be bothered because McCarthy's not going to be friendlier gays won't be friendly with the media or a great personality. I mean you hired a talk show host your head coach. What was it going to have a great personality for was going to be good with the media for? I think there's a direct relationship. How coach deals with the media and vice versa and your friends? React. We are if you go back in history, and you look at the wreckage of John McVay and Bill Barker basically had the same rugged. But one of the reasons why I don't even know who those two guys are they used to be going head coach. Okay. Before your time on on on the guy. If if the report is true that the crane Rebecca Fernandez, which I do I have to have at least a number one. And how I helping maybe a two or three wouldn't be surprised. Well, let me ask you, do you think it's possible. They've got into a bidding war with the raiders since Jerry had decided they were trade Beckham and kind of get bidding war with the raise. And and seeing the better deal. Yeah. I think it's an interesting team to bring up Bruce and thanks for the call. 'cause the raiders, you know, they have a ton of picks would Gruden and may want Odell Beckham junior. Maybe I think it'd be a good fit there. I think that that's interesting. I think Gruden and Beckham. Maybe could work. I think that might be a fit, but I'm with you. If I'm the giants I looked to move on from Beckham. And you gotta get minimum. You're going to get one. You're going to get a first rounder plus. Right. So you hope to get you're not going to get to number ones. But you could maybe get a number one. And number two, you could certainly I would get a number one and number three. But it will be a move. I look to me now whether Gruner the raiders would have any interest. I have no idea. The Niners are reportedly teammates interested in. I would think a lot of teams would be interested in Odell Beckham junior. I still don't think it will be to the tune of two first round picks. But I would you could you could get yourself to top picks for Beckham. And I think he'd be better off because of it and he'll help somewhere wherever he goes. We know what type of player he could be. He's gotta stay healthy. But he's selfish and immature, and it just doesn't work to your. It hasn't worked here with the giants. They'd be better without a in recent weeks. I think they'll be better off without him long-term, eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six lesley's at four Lee. What's up? The Cowboys to go all the way, I want to see I look at sweep writing they can dirt the gut the defense cuts playing role running is starting to heat up. Don't been the hottest team in the league decides Philadelphia. So I I wanted to see the Cowboys I want see someone new. I'm just tired of save. All you know. Yeah. I do know, Leslie, I could see that being the case. Now, do I think they're going to go all the way? No. But I wouldn't mind on a cowboy hater, I wouldn't mind seeing them. I'll tell you this. I don't like to save. I mean. Win. I don't like to say it. So I'd like to see them knock them off the eagles were there last year about a big believer in the bears. Maybe the NFC they could. I mean, you know, the Rams are interesting. Seattle Seahawks are not going to be an easy task..

"The girl girlfriend. Big distinction there fell live time line one fifty six AM or Adam Schefter reports. Miami running back Frank four is likely to miss the rest of what they spring put. This will snap one hundred and twenty six consecutive regular season games. Played streak his twelve three pm those coach Doug Peterson names. Nick foles the starter in week sixteen versus the Texans team will place person on the I r just yet. All right. Welcome to NFL, Jack Rhodes, Adam Schefter the bull champ. Ryan Clark Hasselback over on the end playoff picture a little bit clear any percentage clear not play barely. Yeah. If that if that so if you took a little nap on Sunday, we'll catch up quickly right now Chicago eliminated Green Bay from playoff contention and clinched its first NFC north titles thousand ten it's the first time the Packers have missed consecutive postseason since two thousand five and two thousand six steel curtain Stockton's three game losing streak with they win over Tom Brady and the pats. It's now the first time New England lost back to back to Cimber gains. How about that in the same season since two thousand two Indian Tennessee both improved eight six shutout wins over the Cowboys. The giant respectively and the colts in the titans are in playoff contention JC down the AFC's six seed how about an offense of explosion as well and Minnesota Vikings but of a season high forty one points most importantly, two hundred twenty rushing yards against Miami to maintain the grass when? NFC's second wildcard spot in Philly snag huge win with Nick foles back under center over the Ran's. It's the first time LA has lost back to back games in the regular season under head coach John McVay with his time to over react or knowledge get to the first one here as we go see if I can find it the first one that we do is on the eagles talking. Nick foles eagles are better with foale's period tour false, what do you think? That's an overreaction to me. Carson Wentz still wanted to Bishop quarterbacks in the game. And I know Nick foles great job last night leading this team victory on the road and stepping into the line of he did late last year to take eagles to their loan SuperBowl tied votes. Be real. Carson Wentz is one of the best young quarterbacks in all we're not going to basically say that he was better off with Nick foles you want to Super Bowl with them instead of a young quarterback. Who's one of the best young quarterbacks in the game? This is like the instant overreaction, right? You know, you watch the game last night, and they win you remember that he was the Super Bowl MVP. And you say maybe they're better with with Nick foles. Instead of Carson Wentz. I'm gonna let you know, you never better. Putting in a player that's not as good as the other player. And this is no indictment who Nick foles. Carson Wentz is a future star in this league. But I will say this about the team. I think Doug Peterson is better. When Nick foles is the quarterback. I think he sticks to the run game. I thought Smallwood and Adams was better last night..

"He's never seen before they're going to be able to disguise some things and trick him and show him in this lead him in ways that you can't do to a guy that's in his tenth year. He's in. For all intents and purposes the second year of his NFL career, and he's at borderline in VP Canada, or at least he was until Sunday night in Chicago. Everybody needs to take deep breath. They do need take take a deep breath. But I can see where the worries come from only in the sense that this is an eleven win team. But they've they've got vulnerabilities. I mean, their their defense is not lights out. They've str-. They have struggled against the run two years in a row, you know, the period where keep to leave was out. You saw the secondary. Not look quite as deep as it seemed at the beginning of this season. And you know, Jared Goff is a good quarterback. But he's not a proven quarterback. Yeah. And like this is not a proven team when it comes to the playoffs. You know, they've been there one time they lost. I think a lot of that was jitters and a lot of them just experiencing it all the same time, including by the way, Sean McVeigh John McVay had never experienced the playoffs as a head coach. But that's where the concern. I think from fans would come in is just there's no template. You don't know what this team looks like in the playoffs because you just haven't seen it EMC enough a sample size with this guy with his team as a group period. It's the last box that Sean McVay Jared Goff in really the entire Rams organization needs to check they checked. The we've got good players. They've checked the will pay people. They'll say they've checked the we can win on the road against a good team. They've checked a were behind in the fourth quarter. And can you drive on the field and get a score? When you have to have it. They've done all the one thing. They haven't done is playoff stuff. And you can only do that by getting in there in again. So we'll see how go I mean. But that's hopefully, what matters though, of course, it is. Of course, it is. But the one part of the scent about their that their defense is you have to separate the two separate categories yet separated into with to leave and without in with him the forgives they've played with him. They've given zero thirteen fifteen and sixteen. Okay. And I understand. Cardinals are in that mix. But those are the four games they've played with him the other games without him. They've given up a ton of points and a ton of yards with to leave. They're very very different. So we'll see it again this weekend. I almost think you have to have two separate categories with him in without. What they look like with to Leib against a good offense against a really good offense. How good can they be? You're not gonna see it until the playoffs because that's not Philly. That's certainly not Arizona and San Francisco. So you're you'll see what are you talking about Seattle? Dallas those that's who you play. If you're the one it's Seattle Dallas. And depending on how the other one goes. But Green Bay Minnesota. And Chicago those are the other options that you're going to be looking at. None of the maybe Seattle has a great offense. But the rest dodgers in the hunt to land Bryce Harper. But to they already have a cheaper version. Updated poll results, how we doing well earlier it was tied while actually the pull the question was best SNL snatchers had and Night Live if you don't know skit or movie skit to a movie, right? "You get a pair wet, and they were going to try to run a delayed screen POWs back to the left again after we had done a complete and finally the Seahawks said, hey, why don't we just tackle this guy? Still got the ball. Malcolm Brown in for girly, its second fourteen. It was the loss of four on that play. Three wide receivers to the left Brown. The personal protective golf out of the gun. And we have movement up front south the left guard ants in your pants. Was it in response to Seattle movement? Fficials huddled nears. The call. The only way south. Offense, number sixty five. Only way sapper gets away from that pole gets away with that is that the defensive lineman had gone across into the neutral zone and caused him the jump see I'm glad you said that Hank because a lot of people to watch football. Hey, the defense is moving around they're entitled to move but not into the neutral zone to draw your response. They did not sample jump and the Rams with his outstanding opening drive with the second half. That'd be a little tougher the second in nineteen screen out to cooks. You'll get inside the thirty. But Seattle had more bodies there early in the first abbots of three two out of the perimeter there. The numbers were a little bit more even in his short game. Rams going to huddle third and long already and feel ranger thank for the leg. So third and thirteen the ball to Seattle twenty eight ten fifty two remaining in the third Rams on top seventeen fourteen. It's all going to be about whether or not. Fifty nine Jacob Martin the rookie out of temple and Frank Clark. Get pressed off the edge. Are they bringing extra body Seattle's dropping coverage? They rush only four it's a screen out to Brown at the twenty five the twenties near the first down, but doesn't have it. But Sean McVay likes to go for it in a lot of situation. And I love the capture this offer to my job at the sideline said, let's go. Let's go. Let's go and John McVay says coach we're gonna kick a field goal. Smart way. We think. Well, they faked in New Orleans the the thing that makes the Rams the saints. The patriots the Seahawks so dangerous. They have all the fakes and they run them. All the blocks, and they do it, Greg. So they'll sit down at the twenty seven thirty seven yard field goal. Snap and line drive. Good. Clayton Kershaw would be pleased with that fastball in LA Krista field goal to make it twenty two fourteen nine forty four remaining in the third ram score. The opening drive the second half. "Still thinking about what they do for a living and how they do it. Basketball is fun. You're not getting hit right. Asked about players? Yeah, they wanna be football players until they go across. They get hit, right. We wanna do. Heard of basketball player, go, man. I want to run in the middle in Rover linebacker. I wanna go ahead. Well, no breakfast, the Ryan Hollins DeMarco far Sodano show the always say, well abroad, he'd be the best tight end in football. Hell no, I'm not doing that would if you could be the best most dominant receiver in football at that size and that speed or you could just be LeBron James playing basketball while LeBron James playing basketball all day every diverse and pick the right sport because he was a dynamite quarterback in high school could play like pro. Well, I mean, he, he played in college, right? But no doubt, but he picked the rights I used to grow watching. Barry Sanders though in wish could do like a berry Sanders move at that spin move. Did they always shown replays where spins off two guys and they go flag out. I always wanted to do a move like that, but just not the hit at the end by Ryan, I swear he was as close to to to you. I mean, that's a textbook tackle. I dropped my head blink for a second and he was gone. I mean, I hit nothing I didn't. That was nothing that was. Oh, yeah, I didn't nothing. No, it's everybody in the NFL huddled up win. Is Eli even look at you or does he like a little wink? Gotcha. Or is he told me he played? They played them Detroit in the playoffs and they were giving it to berry in the first habit like twelve carries two yard. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Give it to berry looked up and said, I'll be back at the end of the game, put up two hundred all in the third and fourth quarters. That's all I'll be back and what why. Why did it was it like the co? Like we never asked Barry, Sanders interview. What do you have. Knows weird. He's kind of an off-duty. He didn't talk, didn't do much very, very quiet, right? Yeah, very quiet. Even to this day Colli laugh. I, you know, I've never heard. I've never heard. Bill, but I do have this clip from Barry Sanders from a recent interview. I'm a fun guy bears bears a smooth guy, though. Barry, Sanders smooth. Do. Before radio rose quick, but it was, did he laugh smile. Reserved, yeah, man. And he got anybody to retire that early as interesting guy. I think you do that much work and you can't win with that. I'd retire to you got the best running back of all time ever period. Now, Dan, you still can't win a man to go to the Cowboys. Right. Hold out. Did you hear Jerry Jones said, oh, I don't listen to Jerry during the season unless we're playing the Cowboys. He said that he sees a lot of similarities between the Cowboys often abso- which Cowboys author. Specific, which EROs talking about this. The current one he plans on firing, his head coach didn't chase right here. The The this. boy. That interview after five o'clock central. Oh, okay. A little bit later. This check Jerry Jones on one. Oh five. The fan I all I can say is one of the and I assume it's the fan because there's a the fan in every in every city he qualified. That's what did he say? Okay. Well, let me ask you this. Do you think back in the Rams off could make golf's throws? No, no, no. You know what? Let me say this. I have to see him go through a training, an offseason program into training camp, withdraw McVeigh because what you just mentioned that route that Todd Gurley ran Anthony Barr, the touch. I'm not sure if he could do that when he came into the league, he is grown as a player because he's worked with John McVay. So maybe. But as of right now, I don't know. So the the question with Gough it's going to dog him his entire career while he signs gigantic contracts and makes eighteen pro bowls. If he's just sticks with Sean McVay for the rest of his, he should do the Brady thing by the way we're, he's what?.

"They don't fear Dallas at all. There's no. Season two. And that's the point John McVay once famously said when he was the coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when asked about his team's execution, he said, I'm in favor of it, but that was an expansion team. Zeke Elliott doesn't want to point the finger at the person who really is responsible here and that person is the person choosing the talent. No, of course, left the cupboard bare. You're talking about an eight-man box. You watch that game against Seattle. The whole team is on the line. They're all on the line of scrimmage. Ezekiel Elliott is not getting any cameras because he has nowhere to go with the ball and Dak Prescott doesn't either everyone is going to make this about Dak. My question Mark is is as you watch them play with the talent that they have, can you fairly judge whether no, that can't play the. You've been around the game long enough to know that systems matter. Remember two years ago, Jared Goff was the bust of the NFL Sean McVay came in and put him in a position to be successful. It's the same thing with that. We not look. Everybody gets caught up with Tom Brady and air and Robbins burger was able to do during his career. You're not going to find quarterbacks like that all the time, and they want that to be that guy. But this is the polarizing position for the Dallas Cowboys that was set up for failure this year. From the beginning when this day brand thing came down with Jason Witten retired, there was no one that defense is fear you. You've made that point. I'll give you another point last year when Zeke Elliott was out for those amount of games. In six games, he almost had nine hundred yards not going to happen this year. And the reason is is because no one like eighty eight is out there to threaten a fifty fifty ball or a one on one situation regardless of the production. Is there a not defense. Are not account for Allen hers Thompson that Michael Gallup to mash in Dallas right now, the offense is a complete mess, and the season is starting to slip away. I'd still to come here on get out. The Red Sox have been on a mission this year and their postseason path could lead them to a showdown what the Yankees knows here big Papi, David Ortiz in studio, coming up in a few minutes to talk about the Red Sox and more plus LeBron James just getting used to his new teammates. But is there another superstar that will eventually join him in LA Steven a. and Jalen on the possibility of a unit in Hollywood..

"He's over one hundred sect. You got John Lynch. That was on the end. The final list for the hall of fame got saying that day. So you got all those guys, those guys with Dallas. Remember they got Chris Rashard from Seattle to run back into the defense, but may start looking more legion boomy. That you get you a real guys, but where Richard Sherman Richard Sherman your worth, Tom kale, Byron Jones has moved back to corner and he's a stud athlete. Got he kept heat up a corner. He was news place exactly. Say of eating more athletic. He got a ten foot, long, junior rate. I mean, he's tremendous. Run award three. He got forty two, four, two, three verte Lou won the combine. Oh, you combine Olympics. Oh, he got a gold medal. They gotta go. We're in the forty, but here today they play impaired. They don't play teacher. So now back to Colby's -ly what you have to know and accept is that that Prescott loves Kobe's is rapport. There is wave link that is his desk Bryant, and I know you can't even put desk Brian, Kobe's Lynn the same sentence. But for whatever reason, there is connection between dock and coal and maybe Dak is telling Scott Linnehan same old coordinators been there all along. Maybe he's saying we have underutilized or misuse, Kobe's -ly coal, ran four, five coming out SMU. He can run a little bit straight up field. Maybe they will split him out occasionally maybe said this quote yesterday, dachsie we're gonna move him all over the formation. So maybe slot and then maybe splits out, maybe goes in motion. There are a lot of ways to try to get him loose in the defense. And I do think he can run by people because I've seen him make a lot of big catches in this league. League under pressure and big game for he's been there and done that normally for like six, seven yards about it of his hundred. Nine catches from Dak Prescott only seven has been for twenty or more yards, but that's the averages miss used. Maybe it's hold on Scotland hand with. I just said that, but maybe Daquan tune in the season said, we screwed this up, but this guy can run by day. You talk about the Rams play call in and Sean McVay and Jeff Fisher off forget who is the coordinator world before John McVay took over here coat. There's what about that play calling and Dallas. Remember dad's complained about the play call. Y'all move me around. Y'all put me. I'm just telling day ac- so they threw him the most ball last year by far, but it was poor play, but he's out through me to say ball from in-form saying, locate y'all, move me was the play collars fault that has led the league in drops asses. Last year. I really chilly day y'all be having him with that. Boo. John, it'd be blaming on him. That's what he said. All I know. Is that the Dez cloud got lifted off this team. So this year, any matter who's playing receiver the ball is going to get spread around by the way Deontay Thomson that they added. He ran four, three in college ran for three, right? He. What good is running for three. Nobody's ever scored a touchdown without the ball being in their hands. What good are you ready for three. If you can't catch the ball. All I know is Dak Prescott throws best when he throws blind because he throws it on time to spots. And if you get a collection of fast guys who were on the same wavelength with him as opposed to Dez Bryant who was broken down shell of himself who could not run past anybody last year, all the sudden you got a varied offense. That's going to be pretty hard what he's trying to do that New England approach when he get New England got number twelve up there as the death. On Dak Prescott is Brady esque. I'm not saying he's Tom Brady, but he operates from the Brady. Yeah, that would Tommy. Yes, Tommy, no, not that I know that Tommy that will win a lot of football games in this league. If he sticks to the formula, that's It's the the ball. ball. Thank you. Gotta throw it som- you. You had. That would he got to be the bail cows. Absolutely laid it when DAL this office was at its absolute best. DeMarco Murray eighteen forty eight Zeke Elliot. Sixteen o six. That's.
