"Said he doesn't know that. Maybe. For sure. The product guys is that nobody in political life. No politician has much of an incentive to do anything about it. Because if they do the unions come and crush them at the ballot box with these ridiculous ads that you're seeing Arnold right crush, the Terminator they terminated. The Terminator I always say John Cox is running for governor California on the Republican side just real quickly back to your reference to all the money being spent I got this in my mailbox, and we'll talk a little bit about one of your Republican opponents Travis Allen in a minute or two. I think he's a finding decent guy. But I got this this campaign Mailer that's promoting his candidacy here he is with his beautiful wife and daughter in front of some sort of a fighter jet. I'm gonna tell his his talents and his skills is endorsements this character and just gives you hell John Koch just gives you. The back page, and it says paid for by families and teachers for Antonio villa. Go Rosa for governor twenty eighteen. isn't that interesting with Michael Bloomberg and others? So is that just what was that? What does the attempt to there to split the vote? Yes. That's exactly what it does. Vera, go sir has absolutely no chance unless he can knock me down. And that piece I've seen it has all kinds of misleading statements all kinds of lies, and it looks like it's a piece from my Republican opponent. But of course, I think, you know, I don't know if he's cooperating if I were him, I would be denounced. But of course, he's not doing that. You know, they're trying to split the vote to try to keep me down and end into the second slot with gay guys. It's backfiring. Because Republicans are too smart for that. They look at the fine print. They look at see who paid for that. And they know that this is just playing games and trying to gain the system, and they're responding to it. They're they're not to be believe it, what do you think about the way California? Does it right now? Anyway, the idea that you go with the top two is opposed to Republican versus democrat. Because because obviously Democrats thought that you know, we'll just have all your choice will be democrat or democrat. And or the argument was we'll have more moderate candidates. Yeah. Well, that's the reason. I mean, Gavin Newsom is to the left of Bernie Sanders. I mean, I I don't think that that's it's worth to get any kind of moderate candidates. I think it's worth to just exacerbate the go. Go ahead and back that up that Gavin Newsom is to the left single payer healthcare. He wants safe rooms in San Francisco, so people can shoot up safely. I mean, if you had a child who was hooked on heroin. Would you give them clean needles and give them a safe room to shoot up in? No, you get them help. That's a leftist socialist experiment. Gavin Newsom wants no fewer than three or four additional tax increases to put upon people who are already the most taxed people in the country. Gavin Newsom is the left the Bernie Sanders he wants to turn California into Venezuela. It's not gonna happen. People aren't going to fall for it. They're gonna let the businessperson as the next governor I've actually referred to California's Kala's Walea once or twice. I gotta remember that one to go along with up to -fornia in unicorn favorites. Already know this. But I think you could help we can help you out. You know, we do a talk show. We talk about a lot of different stuff, we get emails and texts the issue for the whole west coast. But certainly in California the issue that gets the most response by far you wanna talk about something that people are into. It's the homeless situation homeless. Okay. Sanctuary states another one yet. But we talk about the homeless thing any just explodes because towns all across California have changed in the last couple of years, and people don't know what to do about it. What's your answer for that? Well, it's not only by the way discussing the look at a human health hazard, the human waste dries up gets into the atmosphere. We breathe it that is really dangerous. I mean, that's how the robotic plague spread. Well, you know, it's not an easy solution. There's several causes of it. The big the biggest one obviously is mental illness and substance abuse. And we obviously have to get those people help were a compassionate society. And I believe that we're a compassionate society. It does nobody any good though to let these people live on the sidewalk that does. No good whatsoever. You know, meanwhile, there's jobs, and there's homes in the central valley that are going wanting. So we've got to make it clear that people have. No, right. Just to live on the sidewalks of San. Francisco walked ask you you. Don't need my advice. But I'm telling you that topic that gets people going in part of it is like the sanctuary state thing. I agree with you. But that's theoretical. Most of the time you're going to brush up against the homeless situation today wherever you are in California. You're going to see it today and get pissed off about it today, maybe multiple times and even the most liberal of enclaves are starting to wake up to. Oh, wow. So if we let this run wild it becomes completely unlivable. So yeah, I think it's a it's an issue momentum. Howard, Steven Spielberg like it if I pitched a tent in the street right outside his house. I mean, I don't think you have a right to just live anywhere. You want to? I mean, I'm sorry. That's just not the case. Now, the other problem is the whole housing crisis. Guys, I'm in the apartment business. That's my business for thirty five years, and I build apartments for eighty thousand dollars a unit in Indiana, where the regulations aren't anywhere near as ridiculous as here and here, it's three four five seven hundred thousand dollars in the bay area. I mean, this is nuts. Its regulations its approvals this delays. That's litigation is the taxes. It's not just the cost of the land. It's all the additional what we call soft costs. That government are putting on these housing units. We gotta streamline the process and get housing built less expensively. Yeah. You won't get people to the polls with this. But the whole legalized blackmail system in California as bought by the trial attorneys of the state is such a huge impediment to housing. But anyway, Jack gonna ask you before we let you go because this this is an interesting part of our job to because. In the past the audience tended to be there for or against the president our audience, depending on whether the Republican or democrat with Trump. It's all over the map. It's day by day issue by issue. Tell us something about Donald Trump. You don't like, oh, I don't know. I think I would like him to be a little bit more conciliatory some the the Twitter things. But that's just personality. You know? I mean, I've dealt with New York people before I mean, some of them are a little bit more aggressive. It's a tough place to do business. And I understand that I'm going to Chicago originally. And so, you know, we tend to be more compromising more and more involved in building team efforts and things like that. So you know, I like what the president's done, you know. I mean, it's famously said I didn't vote for him. Because I wasn't sure he was a conservative. But I'm looking at what he's done, he's cut taxes cut regulations. He's appointed conservative judges. He stood up to Iran and North Korea and move the embassy to Jerusalem, I think that was a real gutsy move there. I think it was the right thing to do. I I like what this president's done. I'm happy. He's there. He's a businessman who gets results. That's exactly what I'm going to try to do for California get results. And I think that's what people here are waiting for. When did you come to California? And what Roger my family's been here for fifty years. But my mom retired here in one thousand nine hundred eighty I just moved here about ten years ago. I always tell people it took me fifty years to save up enough money to buy a house. That's pretty good. You know, some people will knock folks who come from elsewhere as as not being worthy or something. I don't to me if somebody chooses to live somewhere besides and cares. I mean, why would you bag with your family history is there? Well, right. I haven't lived in Kansas for years. I could go back there and care a lot about it. Sure. I would agree. I think that's a dumb shot. But Jerry Brown is the only governor in the last fifty years who was born in California. How's that worked out for us? Have you heard the rumors that he has late stage syphilis? That's right. Yeah. Been for quite some. He's losing his mind that is clearly. John don't respond to that in any way joined vice June. I didn't hear a thing right headphones cut out. That's unfortunate. John Cox's business, man. He's the candidate for governor in California, John it's good to talk. Thanks. Thank you. Appreciate it. We'll be chatting between now and November. Yeah. Well, we we're also gonna talk to Travis Allen. I think tomorrow's Johnson Republican opponent where the conscience of the nation. We should have done it yesterday. The latest poll came out. Well, maybe he will surge in the polls after our conversation. And also we've repeatedly badgered Gavin Newsom to get on the show. But he politely says, he'll get back to us all the time. So did or didn't say Cal trans workers. Look at porn. Officially say that not indulge you when your your character sister has asked the nation. Not the attempt is not character assassination attempt is to get something going viral. That's what I'm trying to do to help us out. No, no, no, no. I won't stoop to them beside you won't besides. Stooped. When I woke up this morning. I'm besides there are many many departments of the state government. Where people look at porn all day. I don't think it's fair to allow. That was interesting. I.

I just wanted to say thank you to you and your team for educating us for keeping us aware of the truth, and what's going on in the world. And specifically in our country. Mazing thing. What you guys do? Thank you. Mike. Thank you. You're talking about small things, and and you have the expertise to delve into details of of problems going back and forth with with our government with society. But I keep coming back to the same thing isn't the states convention. The only way we're going to save this country. And I wonder I wanna ask you can can we do more to educate people to understand that we have an option to states convention is an option for things like balanced budget term limits border control, these things is they bother me. They stress me out. I know you talk about them at length. Isn't isn't there more we can do to educate people about our I have a plan in place to do more next year. I mean, I have written a book we have promoted this really endlessly. And I believe along with convention of states. This program has made this in some areas, a national issue, and I think we do need to more we do more, and we will do more. But I really think in the end it's the only answer and convention of states and to reestablish our constitutional system put the courts back in the box. But the bureaucracy back in the box put spending back in the box. So that freedom may rain, and you're right, secure the nation state. You do not fundamentally transform that. What you love you do not fundamentally transform that. Which you love if you love your country. Why would you fundamentally transform it? They don't love this country, and you can see with the identity politics and the race baiting, and the these socialism arguments, and and the the attacking of our history, the open borders, these are all actions and policies that that make it abundantly clear that the people who support these positions do not love this country. And that includes many people in the media it really does. I agree. It's certainly obvious. The media does not love this country. And yet they say they do and who cares? What they say. You know, people need to understand what is the purpose of the press. What is the purpose of the press to protect us from the government, but more than that? The purpose of the press is to allow us to speak to each other. To allow us to speak and hear each other through this medium. And why is that important? It's important because we have shared values and principles doesn't mean we agree on everything. Of course. We don't agree on everything, husbands, and wives. Don't agree on everything. You representing us in the state for quite a while. We don't even have any Republican representatives. And we're only shot because the last numbers we saw they changed since last time. We've looked. Orange County went overwhelmingly for John Cox who was the Republican governor candidate. So explain to me how we can all vote for John Koch that we can't get a Republican con explain it. I I read that article to you, which kind of lays it out that there is every conceivable back door way of winning an election after an election that the Democrats have put in place. They don't care about Cox because Cox they felt wasn't gonna win. But they're picking off these congressmen. They're picking off these assemblymen, these state senators and so forth. "You're on the TV interviewing Scaramucci who's got a book out. Like when the cameras aren't rolling, my friend. No, no, no. I I am on a new TV home though here in northern California two of them over at CBS thirteen. But that was not me. Gary Dietrich, facade a look alike Alouine. Now, that's interesting. And maybe it's just because all you of your age TV guys. Look exactly the same. But you've already got that one. It's a compliment. You have to have a certain like I could be in a soap opera handsomeness little gray, people take you seriously. I thought it was you with the mutual Gary towards handlebar moustache. Gotta you gotta have a brand Gary Brad, I'll keep that in my guys as you all know, my brand has been has over many many. You're simply trying to be a genuine nonpartisan truth teller, you know that. Absolutely. And we respect you for that. And I gotta start with the gas one. How did they get away with writing and writing the gas prop in such a way that nobody knows that it's about repealing the gas tax? Well, you know, that's all you guys though that in California how you actually title and ballots summary eighty things really could be huge and verbally. They've been major court battles over just that over on many of these propositions until here's another example. You know, it's written by the attorney general's office. And so many people believe that when that when that office is inhabited by somebody whose party is not in favor of your particular proposition. You get the short end of the stick. Wow. So there's no is there a a measure to appeal the wording of your proposition or independent board or anything like that. Or is it just the sex? Can't go back and attempt to do that Joe sometimes it's successful. Most of the time. Not I there's sort of a process, you go to the attorney general's say this really sucks. I don't like the way you guys have characterizes most of the time. You don't get big changes. That's just the way to games played bright minutes clear to everyone right that they wrote that in such a way that people aren't paying attention. Don't know that's about repealing the gas tax. Yeah. There several I think I've noticed this guy's in this particular election cycle for some reason more than others where I I think you're more confusing than they often on other times. But this was going to be the big. I mean, you know, pop six was supposed to be the massive turnout machine for Republicans because it was gonna repeal five billion dollars annually in taxes. That's a lot of that's a lot of denial. But the thing about it is honestly, you know, I think the air went out of that balloon when national politics Trump cavenaugh etcetera, really became the driver. I think in. Any even even California elections. So six is described as eliminate certain road, repair and transportation funding requires certain fuel taxes and vehicle fees be approved by the electorate initiative constitutional amendment. That is the repeal of the gas tax. Do we know how it's polling? Yeah. Well, actually, it started out doing just barely over dead. Even Joe, but the no side has been so I mean, she'd me the yes side he'd been so outspent by the no side. I mean, the construction trade union, so you don't actually part of that the roadbuilding projects even the California chamber of commerce show outspent it fairly effective ads. The problem with the the accurate question. Sean Joey started starting to look not good for its passage. It's unbelievable. I keep seeing this ad over and over again with this nice Hispanic looking firemen who so sad. He looks on the verge of tears that we're going to not repair the roads and people will die because he can't get to them soon enough. It's really just unbelievable. It's maddening because it was so depleted is from the beginning the biggest gas tax in the history of the country one big chunk, and they had it show up. Right. When the summer blend comes in. So the prices go down so people would notice it right away. So it would be already happening before you had a chance to notice. I mean, it's so maddening that they got away with that. With the other thing about a guy just you know when you can. Tax measures. Never do. Well when they're too generic here. Catch yourself for a well, we're not exactly sure what we're going to figure out the project. The thing about this one is were already a lot of transportation measures, local and state in the pipeline. And so they can listen if you notice when you get the mail or sending there's a real capability to say, this this this this and this road are not going to be fixed. And when you specify where people spending going, you know, naturally, the almost always more inclined. Well, you know, that's probably a good use of money. Then if you just say, yeah, we're thinking about fixing roads. But we're not sure how so I can't help. But notice as I look through the propositions, and we'll we'll talk specifically about some of the bigger ones. But let me read you just the first three words of of most of them number one authorizes bonds to number two authorizes bonds number three authorizes bonds number four authorizes bonds. So in one of the highest tax states in the union the first four are authorizing by borrowing. More money to do what the state's supposed to do various studio, Joey interesting and bond measures, you know, they're really interesting animals because when times are good, and, you know, most of the poll shows that both American dance specifically California's think why out of that big recession we had earlier in the decade feeling pretty good about things. People are just gonna well Bonn. Jess good idea. All right, fine. You know? Some reason bonds don't seem to offend people as much as taxes do although I guess. Because people are thirty to forty years. You went to the Kennedy School of government at Harvard. I know you understand you believe this. But it's wrong. People are not capable of governing themselves the founding fathers were wrong. People are stupid. That's the problem. That's right. Jack, if you will no, I don't wholeheartedly agree with that. I always hope for the best. But the thing about it is any and Julia plays. We'll take each one of these four bond measures requires revenue. Boston was the payments for these are gonna have to come out of the general fund. And so, you know, sort of pay me now pay me later, they do go after, you know, the first two about housing that has been a big big issue as you guys know, and, you know, John Koch, notably. He's been making it one of his big issues against Gavin Newsom in this campaign. You know, so so the housing thing water bonds prop three it seems like we get a water bottle almost every other election cycle. And then this one about children's hospitals also interesting, most of the big large nonprofit children's hospitals, and they want to do upgrades and construction to expand their popular up the pass. Why wouldn't they go through the legislature through the normal process instead of through the proper process? Well, bonding bondage typically have to be approved by the voters, Jack. So at some point either put off frequently put on by the legislature almost always on. But they. Need voter approval for the borrowing and the idea of paying as you go is just so utterly alien now to American politics. I feel silly even bringing it up. Gary Dietrich is online right now, nonpartisan political analyst, founder of citizen voice dot org, which is a great website to click on. So you get your four bonds, and you got your fairly well, fairly obscure property tax issue and five six we've talked about seven conforms daylight saving time to federal law allows legislature to change daylight saving time period. Just get rid of standard time that is six and seven are the rare example a rare exceptions to my rule to always vote. No on these idiot propositions well and props I mean, who would ever think he'd be voting to allow the legislature to change your clock time? I mean, it only in California, it seems like we do we have major ballot measures on daylight savings time. But here it is not sure people know, this is happening. Do you realize this is happening listeners out there? Hello. Seems crazy we're we're voting. We're going to be like Arizona, maybe where we leave our clocks alone. Well, this is important to note. What this really does. And does not do it does not change daylight savings time. It allows the legislature to do sell. Now, why the two step process, honestly, you know, seems crazy to most. But it's still if you vote yes, or no, it's not gonna change what we have now. But it does open the door for the legislature to do. So and all there's been a debate in the legislature about whether they should do this. And it also says, oh, one of the thing guys and gals downtown Sacramento has to still conformance federal law. Thank you. How much leeway do they have they've been could they go to an eight hour day? Eight hour clock. Decide the whole days only gonna be four hour hours three hours long. Very complicated. Exactly sleep in the daytime rise at nine league of empire. It's all in there. Gary Dietrich, hey, Kerry. Can we hold on your couple of more minutes? Yeah. We can. We ought to talk about the ballot. The big hole in the ballot. Why is prop nine not on the ballot role? Wait a minute. All right. We'll talk about.

"Out. What's the mood like when the cameras rolling, my friend? No, no, no. I I am on a new TV home though here in northern California cure them over at CBS thirteen. But that was not me. Gary Dietrich facade a lookalike Alouine. Now, that's interesting. And maybe it's just because all you of your age TV guys. Look exactly the same. Wow. Pat, look, but you've already got that one compliment you have to have a certain like I could be in a soap opera handsomeness little gray. So people take you seriously. I thought it was you with the mutual Gary, Gary toured 's handlebar moustache, gotta you gotta have a brand Gary of Brad, I'll keep that in my guys as you all know, my brand has been as over many, many are simply trying to be a genuine nonpartisan truth teller, you know, that. Absolutely. And we respect you for that. I got to start with the gas one. How did they get away with writing and writing the gas prop in such a way that nobody knows that it's about repealing the gas tax? That's all you guys know that in California how you actually title and ballot. Some things really could be huge. And hopefully, there's been major court battles over just that over on many of these propositions until here's another example. You know, it's written by the attorney general's office. And so many people believe that when that when? When that office is inhabited by somebody whose party is not in favor of your particular proposition. You get the short end of the stick. Wow. So there's no is there a a measure to appeal the wording of your proposition or independent board or anything like that. Or is it just the sex can't go back and attempt to do that. Joe? Sometimes it's except for most of the time. Not I. There's sort of a project you go to your journal say this, really shocks. I don't like the way you guys have characters. But most of the time you don't get big changes. That's just the way the games played bright. It's clear to everyone. Right. That they wrote that in such a way that people aren't paying attention. Don't know that's about repealing the gas tax. Yeah. There several I think I noted this guy's on this particular election cycle for some reason more than others where I think the ballot measure and your more confusing than they off and on other times. But this was going to be the big. I mean, you know, propsects was supposed to be massive turnout machine for Republicans because it was gonna repeal five billion dollars annually in taxes. That's a lot of that's a lot of denial. But the thing about it is honestly, you know, I think the air went out of that balloon when national politics Trump cavenaugh etcetera, really became the driver. I think in any even even California elections so props six is described as eliminate certain road repair. And transportation funding requires certain fuel taxes and vehicle fees be approved by the electorate initiative constitutional amendment. That is the repeal of the gas tax. Do we know how it's polling? Yeah. Well, actually, it started out doing just barely over get evening Joe. But the no side has been so I mean feed me the yes side had been so outspent by the no side. I mean, the construction trade unions. You don't actually part of the the roadbuilding projects, even the California chamber of commerce show outspent it fairly effective ads. The problem with the Accu question. Sure Joey started starting to look not good for its passage. I keep seeing this ad over and over again with this nice Hispanic looking firemen who so sad. He looks on the verge of tears that we're going to not repair the roads and people will die because he can't get to them soon enough. It's really just unbelievable. It's maddening because it was so duplicitous from the beginning the biggest gas tax in the history of the. Country in one big chunk, and they had it show up. Right. When the summer blend comes in. So the prices go down so people would notice it right away. So it would be already happening before you had a chance to notice. I mean, it's so maddening that they got away with that. With anything about a guy just you know when you can. Tax measures. Never do. Well when there too generic here catch yourself for a while. We're not exactly sure what you're going to figure out the project. The thing about this one. Is there were already a lot of transportation measures, local and state in the pipeline. And so they can list if you notice when you get the mail or sitting there's a real capability to say this this this and this road are not going to be fixed. And when you specify where people funding is going, you know, naturally, they'll almost always more inclined. Well, you know, that's probably a good use of money. Then if you just say, yeah, we're thinking about fixing Rose Bowl. We're not sure how so I can't help. But notice as I look through the propositions mold we'll talk specifically about some of the bigger ones. But let me read you just the first three words of of most of them number one authorizes bonds to number two authorizes bonds number three authorizes bonds number four authorizes bonds. So in one of the highest tax states in the union the first four are authorizing by borrowing. More money to do what the state's supposed to do various studio. Joe it's interesting and bond measures, you know, they're really interesting animals because when times are good, and, you know, most of the poll shows that both American dance specifically, California think why out of that big recession we had earlier in the decade feeling pretty good about things people are just gonna well. Why wouldn't they go through the legislature through the normal process instead of through the prop process? Well, bonding bondage typically has to be approved by the voters, Jack. So at some point either put off frequently put on by the legislature almost always on. But they need. "It is Friday eve Thursday, the twenty fifth we are less than two weeks away from the election again. I just wanna make sure to point this out. We did extend the invitation to Lieutenant governor Gavin Newsom the democratic candidate on the ballot for governor here in California. His people did not accept the invitation. But who did accept the invitation to come? Join me in studio is Republican gubernatorial candidate, John Cox, John thanks again for coming in today. Thank you for having me. I always want to talk about the issues. And well, let's let's talk about the issues. I thing it. So once I find fascinating is President Trump is expected unpopular in the state of California other than a narrow base that he does have their very strong sports. The latest polls that came out yesterday from Thomas partner strategies, I got the latest poll from them of mostly likely registered voters. You are closer to Lieutenant governor Newsom in terms of the spread between you and him. Then the spread in Trump's approval rating in the state of California. Now you according to Thomas, partner strategies. Governor Newsom still has a twelve percents lead over you. How do you? I don't know if that's true. But we'll see. Okay. Outperformed the polls before remember June fifth. They didn't have meat in the top two. He did not know. And and here you are. You're on November six so I want to open it up to callers. I want to hear what the voters God, I love talking to people. And so let let's let's talk to very four one five eight hundred eighty eight ten rob in Richmond. Rob you're on Keijo, a ten with Ethan Bearman and Republican gubernatorial candidate, John Cox. Thank you. It's an honor to talk to John Koch. I'm a lifelong democrat turned Republican under Trump Suzy announced. I knew he had a dynamic force that would overwhelm the opposition. And my presence was more out. And the thing is he's for us Trump supporters, and there's about ten percent of Democrats that support him. And there's also a social phobia to admitting it, so the polls a wrong, and you're right. Mr Cox that you're more ahead than you think or more closer to together. Now, the thing is Trump is the is the most honest president since Abe Lincoln on the big issues. He's got big honesty truth that we recognize support on the board. What's the what's the question though, before we run out of time? Laws the lousy immigration laws. It's true. On. So hang out of San. So. So let's so John I know that you're you're the way I should point out to John calling. Rob rob excuse me. Rob, I'm a former democrat myself. I grew up a democrat. I grew up at John F Kennedy democrat, I mean, I I'd allies Kennedy. And it was Ronald Reagan and Jack Kemp that brought me to the Republican party. And that's really where my immigration ideas lie. And that is I love the fact that America is the city on a hill. I love the fact that America is the beacon of hope for people all over the world having said that we can't have uncontrolled immigration. We have to have it legal. I don't think it should take five or ten years to get into this country. I'd like to see it streamlined. I think we need to have more immigration Japan is an example of a country that has very limited immigration various issues because of huge issues. They have grown in thirty years. The United States has wonderful growth we can. Can handle growth, we need to make sure that our immigration and our borders are controlled. An era of terrorism which wasn't the case thirty or forty years ago. It is the case. Now, we need to know who is coming in. But what what what what would you? I wouldn't be doing much because it's the federal exactly, okay. My point there's not much you can do about other than you either cooperate more with the feds or you don't cooperate more with the feds. But if the feds want to do something that I think will hurt Californians I'll speak up. Okay. Thank you for that answer. John Cox Republican gubernatorial candidate is in studio with me, we're taking your calls right now. Four one five eight hundred eighty eight ten Dave in San Jose. Dave, you're on KGHM with Ethan Bearman, and John Cox. Good morning, gentlemen. Mister cox. You are correct. Gavin Newsom really has been silent on many issues, but also a little bit of criticism from conservative white male, by the way, full disclosure. I haven't heard anything about what I believe to be the most crippling factor in California. And that is the the the the looming pension crime. Oh, yes. A double double dipping going on with fire. Police personnel. It's not by the way. It's not just hang on. Dave. I just want to clarify. It's not just fire and police personnel. It's pretty much anybody on CalPERS can double dip while they're collect. So don't just pick out. It's across the board. But you're absolutely right. By the way, I'm a CPA and a lawyer and I've drafted pension plans. I've worked with actuaries for thirty five years and Jerry Brown should be occupying. The next Celta with Bernie Madoff because he has lied to the people of the state all the way along about the assumed rate of return on our pension assets. Which is way lower than what they're assuming which means we've got a huge unfunded debt, and this is exit stencil for the state of California, as frankly, it is for Illinois, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, a whole bunch of states, but California is one of the worst. I mean, ours is approaching a trillion dollars rest assured, this is going to be one of the top issues. The problem, you the reason you haven't heard a lot about it. Frankly, is it makes the average Motors is glaze over because a lot of average voters. Just don't understand it. If sadly, I am going to work day one to try to make sure that people do understand it. We have to resolve this. We have to start putting. The away for our state employees because they've been promised it. But we also have to make sure that we tackled the abuses, the spiking the double helping and things that I've done by every by a lot of state agencies, and that's the key. But to your point most, it's funny because the only people who are really fiscally focused attention that. Otherwise, people are just like why are we talking about I'm focusing? I'm worried about putting food on my table. I'm focused on getting a place to live that I can afford to live in and I want clean air. Even those issues that are urgent meet people every day who can't buy groceries. They can't really live their lives because the rent is. So God darn high or the gasoline is now five dollars and nine cents over here to gas station and sepulveda's. Yeah. Gasoline's gone over five five dollars a gallon. I agree with you. And that's we have. But we do have we have lots of issues, and let's take more calls because a lot of people have questions for you. I think this is important conversation. Republican gubernatorial candidate John FOX's in studio with me again, we invited Lieutenant governor Newsom they decline. So we did extend the invitation as well, let's go back to the phones. Four one five eight hundred eighty eight ten Larry in Santa Rosa. Larry, you're on KGHM with Ethan Bearman, and John Cox. Yes. Mr Cox says I sing in Washington wants to start drilling off of our coast, and he seems to have known against that has no consideration for the environment in general wants exploited. Us state lands for for money. I guess drilling mining all that stuff. What do you think about that? Please direct up. Please be direct. I'm against offshore drilling. We need to make sure I drive an electric car. We need to make sure that the air is clean. I'm environmentally very aware. And I wanna make sure that we have. We clean the air. I'm for forest management. I'm sure you're aware that the fires that we've had in the state in the last couple of years have dumped way more carbon into the atmosphere than than than tons and tons of trucks and cars that have done. So we're missing literally the forest for the trees, I wanna make sure that we get in the forest management. Now, I also wanna get us off of certainly don't want to have call, and I certainly want have clean fuels like natural gas that can burn cleanly. I also want to make sure that we have energy, and it's a reasonable price. It's a wonderful goal to have one hundred percent renewables, but if it literally is killing working families in this state because we're already paying twice what other states are paying for electricity. The one hundred percent renewable goal is going to double electricity prices, even more. So I'm not in favor of tiny little gains in air quality at the expense. Of people's very lives in terms of being able to feed their family. We'll have to have another conversation. I have the answers on how to solve that. At some point. We will. Because I there's something I've studied extensively as a matter of fact, and I think that we miss it sometimes because what happens here in California. And it's not necessarily a bad thing. But at least call it for what it is often. We will do things that ended up being their jobs programs or their money movement as opposed to simple as opposed to actually fixing the problem, and we need to call. It what it is. And if you wanna have a jobs from cotija y'all's room, I have nothing against jobs firms when you call them jobs programs, but that if but then we can at least discuss it. And if you just say, hey, we're gonna save the world. And now, we get one percent of our energy from something that's cost us a lot of money, but it's really just a jobs program in disguise. We have to maintain living standards. I mean, people have to have the right to live. Yeah. I agree with that as well or four one five eight hundred eighty eight ten we're going to take another short break keep taking your calls. Ruben you're up next. Mr Cox is gonna stay with us for a few more minutes and keep taking your calls. Republican gubernatorial candidate, John Cox is in studio with me, I have to clarify we reach out to ten governor newsome's team, and they they didn't actually decline. They just never got back to us. But I wanna make sure I'm clear in what actually transpired when we extend. Ended the invitation so give a to'real candidate, John. Fox's with me. We're taking your calls for one five eight hundred eighty eight ten.

"Two Christie Marconi awards for his broadcast excellence, the one and only Bill. Coming. Your calls in about thirty minutes is so Corey Lewandowski you'll be here. The Trump campaign manager for a year and a half and twenty fifteen in two thousand sixteen about an hour. So I'm going to put a call into Kevin Jackson of the black sphere in Saint Louis, Missouri to talk about Hawaii was let go by Fox News for saying bad things about women at charged cavenaugh with a bunch of bad stuff that didn't happen plus the impact on illegal immigration in the black community more. But until then your calls is go to John in San Diego. John in San Diego. Welcome in the Bill Cunningham show. John, please go ahead. Hey, thanks for taking my call. You're caller a few callers ago talked about annexing Honduras. He had citizenship. I I'm all for it. As long as they get to enjoy our freedoms and our civil rights in our, you know, our amendments in the constitution, the Bill of rights second amendment, mainly because all those countries have in common is guns are illegal like Chicago gun laws in the United States. And you know, if you're able to defend yourself people don't come knocking on your door in the middle of the night. Like what goes on down there? And I hope when Trump sets the border down shuts it down, I'm talking razor wire he shuts down. All ports of entry, whatever he shuts. Yeah. I do it. He shuts it down whatever it is. But the media, you know, John, why does the media focus on some of the benefits of immigration illegal, and there are minimal benefits compared to the SU NAMI of bad effects. The reason we have a legal immigration system is because of medical checks financial checks all kinds of checks that takes five to ten years. We check everybody out. They come in legally they raised their right hand. How come the media loves it? When one hundred seventy five thousand illegals storm ourselves voters so far this year. How does that benefit our country at all what's the benefit? Well, it's a crisis that they're not gonna let go to waste like Rahm Emanuel said and another thing is a little story about this caravan is I think they caught a few dozen known documented ISIS members in this caravan. But then little known story, John they don't report on that. Because it doesn't. Fit all the news that fits they print and gang bangers MS thirteen ISIS members those from despotic regimes the most violent places on earth are Guatemala Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua why do we want lots of uneducated poorly educated young males to come in from those countries. How does that benefit us one last one last thing on the MS thirteen Guantanamo Bay thing? The thing is is there not a designated terrorist organization. They're just a street gang. That's why they're not going to be treated as such. And that's why we can't treat them with the same, you know, policies as we do with the Gitmo detainees. So it's gonna be interesting. I've already voted I I'm happy with my vote. You know, they're not going to change it with the media the waiter trying to you know, it's just disgusting. What they are using these people for and I think it's gonna come to a head because Hillary Clinton they would have been ugly as she was can you imagine if she was in the White House right now. Oh, it'd be just like Obama's two point. Oh, it'd be thanks for taking my call. And have a good evening. Thank you. Let's go continuing California Perry and California Perry. Go ahead. Hey, built love your show every Sunday night. I'm gonna have to call your producers if you guys ever do podcasts for your regular show during the week. Okay. My comment is that I think. There is something beyond the deep state a deeper state beyond shadow government. Probably the darkest shadows. I don't know what it is. Is that the one world government is at the build burgers or the wrong child or or whoever on that point in about an hour and twenty minutes, I'm going to call Peter Wallison? He's written a book about the bureaucracy, the so-called deep state. How that continues. It continues today three thousand new rules and regulations a year. Hundreds every month. It never stops is going on right now. Trump's trying to stop it. He's gonna make the he made the point of his book that I read that it cannot be stopped at Thursday. Deep state in Washington that will continue even assuming Trump is there for eight years. It will not be stopped. That's his point. He might agree with? I would agree with that completely. And I wanna tell you, you know, these people that protested against governor governor, I mean, judge Cavanaugh. They were led by the Democratic Party for a specific reason. They don't want constitutional judges on the supreme court. Oh, no. They kind of want a super legislature. They they want. Judges don't pose rose and regulations on us that cannot be passed through the democratic process. And so they've done that the last thirty or forty years, and when you got Gorsuch and Cavanaugh who I hope become constitutional judges. They're going to say, wait a minute. If you want to convince your fellow citizens to have abortion or gay marriage or something else. Go convinced them in the legislature passed a law. It's okay. Don't come to us to service the second legislature. And I hope that's cavenaugh, Gorsuch and Robertson Alito Thomas. I hope that's what that's what they do in the future is don't come to us to impose new roles on the American people go to the legislature, go to the congress go to the states go to the city's go to the county's. That's where it belongs. You know, the Democratic Party Bill want a selfless in a perfect experiment over here is my state of California. How's that house? Venezuela looking. Oh my God. Yeah. You know? Yeah. Almost the same. But we have a a man who will probably be governor the Lieutenant governor of California, Jerry Brown. Yeah. Which is. Do you have a new Kevin is a thank you. You're in California. I'm in Ohio's Gavin Newsom needs to be married to Kimberly Guilfoil friend. I'll really interesting. Yeah. Well, this man is fairly lacking in character because he's going to win and he isn't gonna win. Nonetheless. Yeah. Against John Koch who I'm going to vote for is the Republican running. But you don't want this, man. So far left. He bakes Jerry Brown. Look look Ronald Reagan. And also he wants to open borders. He wants to paper healthcare housing automobiles. Anything that illegal immigrants want in this state is broke. And now we got proposition six with the Democrats are fighting which will repeal the the gasoline tax, which is about what ten eleven cents and the doubling of the registration fees here of a vehicle can you smell what I'm cooking. I don't understand. You you go forward ten or twenty years give millions of illegals free medical care free public education free lawyers free Dennis free, doctor's free, veterinarian services and free cars. How does California survive? It'd be it becomes Venezuela. Doesn't it? Yes. It does. Because we're we're broke. I don't know why we're broke. Because I mean, there is no real reason for it and talk about middle class job destruction talk about the pollution controls talked about the lack of job creation. Talk about in Los Angeles County schools. There's fifty seven languages and dialects pain spoken inside the public schools every day, which means no one's getting educated in anything. That's right. That's right. It is. It doesn't make any sense. You know, what the Democrats do? But I like I said it really does come down to that. They want an open border, a socialist state here. And I I'm sorry. I just. Well, you know, I like to know whereas socialism worked that have worked in Cuba. Venezuela where does socialism work, even the red Chinese communists are turning away from socialism, it doesn't work? It doesn't work in Central America done work in South America. Brazil and Argentina's and dig deep trouble Venezuela's already there. And so I can see the day in the future when we don't have one hundred seventy five thousand so far this year. I can see the day we have one or two million or three million. "Be here. The Trump campaign manager for a year and a half and twenty fifteen and twenty sixteen about an hour. So I'm going to put a call into Kevin Jackson of the black sphere in Saint Louis, Missouri to talk about was let go by Fox News for saying bad things about women at charged cavenaugh with a bunch of bad stuff that didn't happen plus the impact on illegal immigration in the black community more. But until then you're causes go to John in San Diego. John in San Diego. Welcome in the Bill Cunningham show. John, please go ahead. Thanks for taking my call. You're caller a few callers ago talked about annexing Honduras. I'm all for as long as they get to enjoy our freedoms and our civil rights, and our, you know, our amendments in the constitution, the Bill of rights second amendment, mainly because all those countries have in common is illegal like Chicago gun laws in the United States. And you know, if you're able to defend yourself people don't come knocking on your door in the middle of the night. Like what goes on down there? And I hope when Trump sets the border down can shuts it down. I'm talking razor. He shuts down. All ports of entry whatever shuts. Yeah. I do it shuts it down whatever it is. But the media, you know, John, why does the media focus on some of the benefits of immigration illegal, and there are minimal benefits compared to the SU NAMI of bad effects. The reason we have a legal immigration system is because of medical checks financial checks all kinds of checks that takes five to ten years which check everybody out. They come in legally they raised their right hand. How come the media loves it when one hundred and seventy five thousand illegals storm our southern border so far this year. How does that benefit our country at all what's the benefit? Well, it's a crisis that they're not gonna let go away like Rahm Emanuel said and another thing is a little story about this caravan is I think they caught a few dozen known documented ISIS members in this caravan little known story, John they don't report on that. The thing is not a designated terrorist organization. They're just a street gang. That's why they're not going to be treated as such. And that's why we can't treat them with the same, you know, policies as we do with the Gitmo detainees. So it's gonna be interesting. I've already voted I I'm happy with my vote. You know, they're not going to change it with the media the way they're trying to me, you know. It's just disgusting. What they're using these people for and I think it's going to come to a head because Hillary Clinton it would have been ugly as she was can you imagine if she was in the White House right now. Oh, it'd be just like Obama two point. Oh, it'd be thanks for taking my call. And have a good evening. Thank you. Let's go continuing California Perry and California Perry. Go ahead. They built love your show every Sunday night. I'm going to have to call your producers if if you guys ever do podcasts for your regular show during the week. Okay. My comment is that I think. There is something beyond the deep state of deeper state beyond a shadow government. Probably the darkest shadows. I don't know what it is. Is it the one world government is at the builder burgers or the wrong child or or whoever on that point in about an hour and twenty minutes, I'm going to call Peter Wallison? He's written a book about the bureaucracy. The so called deep state. How that continues it continues today three thousand new rules and regulations a year. Hundreds every month. It never stops is going on right now. Trump's trying to stop it. He's gonna make the he made the point of his book that I read that that it cannot be stopped that there's a deep state in Washington that will continue even assuming Trump is there for eight years. It will not be stopped. That's his point. He might agree with? I would agree with that completely. And I wanna tell you, you know, these people that protested against governor governor, I'm being judged cavenaugh. They were led by the Democratic Party for a specific reason. They don't want constitutional judges on the supreme court. No. Super legislature. They they want. Judges don't pose Rosen regulations on us that cannot be passed through the democratic process. And so they've done that the last thirty or forty years, and when you got Gorsuch and Cavanaugh who I hope become constitutional judges. They're going to say, wait a minute. If you want to convince your fellow citizens have abortion or gay marriage or something else. Go convinced them in the legislature passed a law. It's okay. Don't come to us to service the second legislature. And I hope that's a cabin all Gorsuch and Robertson Alito, and and Thomas, I I hope that's what that's what they do in the future is don't come to us to impose new roles on the American people go to the legislature, go to the congress go to the states go to the city's go to the county's. That's where it belongs. You know, the Democratic Party Bill want socialist in a perfect sure experiment in over here is my state of California. How's that? Venezuela looking. Yeah. You know it. Yeah. Almost the same. But we have a a man who will probably be governor the Lieutenant governor of California, Jerry Brown. Yeah. Which is. Boy. Gavin news. Kevin is a thank you Bill here in California and Ohio's Gavin Newsom needs to be married to Kimberly Guilfoil. Oh, friend of mine. Okay. I'll really know. Interesting. Yeah. Well, this man is fairly lacking in character because he's gonna win. And he isn't he going to win. Nonetheless. Against John Koch. Who will I'm going to vote for is recover the Republican running. But you don't want this man, so far left. He bakes Jerry Brown. Click. God Ronald Reagan. And also he wanted to open borders. He wants to paper healthcare housing automobile anything that illegal immigrants want in this state is broke. And now, we got proposition six there. The Democrats are fighting which will repeal the the gasoline tax, which is about what ten eleven cents and the doubling of the registration fees here of a vehicle can you smell when I'm cooking. I don't understand. You you go forward ten or twenty years give millions of illegals free medical care free public education free lawyers free Dennis free, doctor's free, veterinarian services and free cars. How does California survive? It'd be it becomes Venezuela. Doesn't it? Because we're broke. And I don't know why we're broke because I mean, there is no real reason for it and talk about middle class job destruction talk about the pollution controls talked about the lack of job creation. Talk about in Los Angeles County schools. There's fifty seven languages and dialects being spoken inside the public schools every day, which means no one's getting educated in anything. That's right. That's right. It is. It doesn't make any sense. You know, what the Democrats do? But I like I said it really does come down to that. They want an open border, a socialist state here. And I I'm sorry. I just. Well, you know, I like to know whereas socialism worked work in Cuba. Venezuela where does socialism work, even the red Chinese communists are turning away from socialism, it doesn't work? It doesn't work in Central America done work in South America, Brazil Argentina and dig deep trouble Venezuela's already there. And so I can see the day in the future when we know have one hundred seventy five thousand so far this year. I can see the day we have one or two million or three million. We have a two hundred and fifty million who live in south and Central American Mexico, given their jobs removed to America two hundred and fifty million weren't a hell they gonna go. How does that work anywhere in the real world? Let's continue with their calls is go to Cheryl in New Jersey, Cheryl in New Jersey. Welcome to the Bill Cunningham show, Cheryl. Go ahead. We want more Hungarians share. I love eastern Europeans. Come. And I'll say this. I want every legal. Emigrant to come into America because they are tested. They are research. We know who they are.
