And again, I look at that team and the way they're built and it just goes to show you that you actually do need to invest defensemen. Is a thing you need to do. And that's why I wouldn't surprise me. I don't know their cap situation at the top of my head, but I believe muzzin is still on IR, correct? Yeah. I believe there are a range. Yes, so I would not be surprised to see them add another defenseman or just another average defenseman at the deadline who they are going to pipe up all the media up there is going to say that, you know, Mark Giordano is still a top pairing left shot defenseman or John klingberg. Lindholm, that was the one that we said they were going to get. And he was going to come to the savior up in Toronto. So would you be surprised to see the bruins pass them? Ooh that's a nice play by ben since his exuberant outbursts of offensive capabilities so It hopefully starts picking it backup especially if our top guys aren't aren't figuring it out so right it seems like a couple of guys who figure things out secker has been shooting the puck more which i've definitely appreciated i like i know slapshot existed like he's gotta throw that thing a little bit more especially with his first goal of the season. That slapshot was sweet. You gotta use that. Well and what i've noticed in all three of these periods is that i've actually noticed them bringing those defensemen into the rush so it's not like the man they they stop at the blue line when they get into the zone. They actually like drive the net. The defensemen are driving the net. And what seems to be happening is that when the forwards are not doing that. Then they're backing up the defensemen and they're up at the point which has been which is kinda worked out well for the start yes lately and that's more of what we need to see from this team so especially when you're when you have your top three top three ford's out at and your other top guys aren't scoring you. Need you need those great defensive or offensive defencemen to to get into the rush as much as possible and to shoot the puck as much as they can because the forwards aren't going to do it yet. The forwards are not doing it right now especially because like you said we're we have a first line that That's out we. We don't have our top line out so anyway back to robertson Has he made more of a defensive effort recently and that's why he's been getting in more of the games rather than delay he. And we say it sarcastically. Many times so tonight. We're in a bit of an interesting situation because while we're doing the radio show we're actually. Oh that was a good shot. we're watching starts game. So currently the stars up three to one in the second period with four forty four to go and they're on a power play. And honestly chris the power play has looked. Kind of iffy looked awful. Yeah the first place sucked. They got no chances. At one shot was robertson's off the draw but yeah right and it wasn't and it was a decent shot. But i mean it's it's robertson and what's funny is that one of the things i noticed about What saad put up on on twitter. This this evening was after that first power play. He said one of the things that he talked to bonus about in the pre game show and the pre game interviews gives me. Was that the first power play unit needs to shoot more and that first power play. Unit has pavelski ben robertson and are too big ins in mirror heiskanen and john klingberg and none of those guys got a shot except for jason robertson and the second power play. I think kind of frustrating to me not have green up on that line. I don't know no i to me i you would. You would think but gary on off has not played particularly well the past twenty games he s one goal. Yeah but that's back to the jamie benn doesn't play. Well that doesn't mean we're not gonna play jamie benn right right top goalscorer last season. That jamie ban should be playing those minutes. jamie van is jamie benn didn't scare viscosity on a number goals leader. He is a second year player. he he's yes. He's scored twenty goals. Rookie that's great. Okay fantastic okay. But he is not jamie benn. There's a difference between those two players. Jamie bay has better hockey player than jamie. Benn right now like i would disagree with that. He's a goal scorer. He might be a better with a better player. He is not a better plan to not have them on the for carpal unit and not play him in overtime. I think is ridiculous. But whatever okay. So let's talk about this real quick because this is i put this up on twitter and it's kind of bugging me even watching this game and i hope that bowness said something to khudobin while the in the second first intermission. Sorry but the past two games dhabi the good last game right. He got the shirt out but one of the things that bugs me more than anything is his. Stick play behind his own net. That's been true. That's been true since he started on the stars like he has not been a good stick handler. But it's been particularly noticeable. They've had a lot of success guys in Europe, and that's something that you know for all the the criticism that Stan Bowman and hockey ops gets. You can't really argue with their success in Europe from the pin, Erin's and cos you look now suitor. Kuba leak. Even Philip Kirsch, of who they drafted, is a Swiss born player, Kevin Lake, then was wasn't drafted. He's from Finland and spent the last couple of years in Rockford. So they've had a lot of success picking identifying players in Europe and then they're not the on Lee horse in the race, so to speak, that is courting those players. They have set up a plan where that those players have seen guys from Europe go over to Chicago and have success with the Blackhawks and get paid and the brand is is a big brand overseas as well. There's your selling point. But stick with that. It was really funny. That you mention it this morning is his good buddy John Klingberg, and by the way, yet marking Klingberg went had pretty good cross checking each other behind the net on Sunday. But Klingberg goes through about 45 seconds about how great a player that yen mark is, and then he says, he just doesn't have a very good shot and walks off the podium today, and it's ironic that Klingberg takes the penalty in the and marks the guy who has, if not the last laugh, at least temporarily. The last laugh and he takes the penalty on yet, Mark. That's a nice combination there. Yes, he didn't need to shoot it. He just redirected it. But you know, this guy can continue to show Valuable player here is enough to five goals in 14 games, and he had 62 last two seasons with the Dallas Stars who had him in a little bit of a different role, But he's showing his capabilities of what he's able to put together the first couple years of his career. I really like what I'm seeing from the guy. He's very, very reliable. Defensively. He's a smart player. He does all the little things that a coach wants to do, and then he's getting he's getting the opportunity to to Produce offensively was not used in that kind of a role with Dallas and their top six forwards, very skilled and just didn't have the opportunity to excel in that role, and he was more of a third line type of player in a straight line nor South guy and he still has that. But he's also given a little bit of offensive flair to his game because of the fact that he's getting some more offensive opportunities when you're playing with Patrick Kane, and not necessarily tonight because the lines have been mixed up all over the place from Jeremy Collinson with 11 forwards, but on a pretty consistent basis. He has been the left winger for Patrick Kane. So we're getting an opportunity and getting results. It's kind of a ride because Dallas Dallas really didn't necessarily light it up over the last couple years, there are more known as a defensive team. With goaltending is well, you know how they didn't use him a little bit more offensively. It's kind of a puzzle to me. Speaking of coming through and and Dallas, putting some offense towards Kevin like it in the second period, they had 189 to advantage in shots early on putting pressure. But Langton and with a very big period there to keep the black cocks it and here we are 11 heading the third. Yeah, he made a short handed save. In their own end of the ice, while the Blackhawks have tightened it up defensively, they're making better plays and better decisions, not necessarily in this game, but for the majority of the season so far, and they've gotten great goaltending, and they're getting production from some of the unknowns that they brought in Yon Mark, one of them currents have with his four gold suitors got four As well, Um Hagel of playing a big role, and they're so there was a lot of unknowns coming into the equation. They've been very surprising and pleasantly surprising. I was on NHL network today, talking about the black Hawks and you know again, they just brought it up. But, you know, were you surprised? But why? What's going on here? And, yeah, I am to the degree of where it is. I've been very surprising. It's just It's an excellent job by the coaching staff and the players to recognize that this is an opportunity for them to kind of quiet some of the Doubters at the beginning of the season. It's kind of been a theme and they're coming out and saying that points in nine of their last 10 a chance for 10 and 11. Hopefully two points here tonight. They played their best at the tail end of that second period.
