"No i don't. I mean i don't think there's a lot of people still out there that are going to be big difference makers on the team and i mean there's definitely guys out there that that that can contribute justin. Houston you can definitely take a look at them but price too but yeah yeah i don't. I don't know how much he's going to bring to a team at this point. Yeah yeah i mean. He's still good last year. The seven sacks indie on like a pretty stack defensive line to be fair. But you know that seven. That's seven to lead. The falcons slashed years. You know it's not like a lot of competition either. So the falcons. Yeah yeah. let's see so yeah. Top guy. available still melvin. Ingram and i would honestly like to see if he's willing to come in here for you. Know four million. Maybe they could swing. That still. have some leftover to carry into next season if they don't necessarily need it. That could be interesting just in houston Olivier vernon trent murphy from the bills everson griffen. Who's like thirty four now. Wow i did not realize he was at all man. That's crazy There's there's a lot of like contributors like alex okeafor adrian. Clayborn could bring him back. I like i would be into that. You know every time he plays he plays well so i mean he's old but yeah i didn't know why we like i have he's contributor. Alecky went out and made huge money right. Where so exactly. Yeah just just good. Old thomas dimitrov not knowing how to evaluate free agent edge rushers. So but yeah. I mean other than that it is. It is going to be interesting to see who actually makes the roster. Because while the top spots aren't necessarily settled they have like a huge jumble of guys so some people are probably not gonna make the cut you know i think like fowler ogan digi as the draft pick arkadiusz mingo and jacob twenty. Mariner probably pretty safe as those first four. But like then it's like. I guess maybe stephen means probably the likely fifth guy but you know there's all phase and then the possibility of somebody else playing edge too so it'll be interesting to see who how that shakes out. But i think the depth good it's just the starting to spots that are a concern. Because i think all those guys we talked about our guys could come in as an edge. Three or four. And you'd be like that's fine. Yeah but if they come in as your edge one or two. Then you're like that's not so fine so the problem with those guys being like an edge through marriage for is there not far off from the talent level of the ones. That's the biggest problem like if he had solid or at least like kind of solid than it would be no big deal but they could make a push for the starting job right yeah. It's not great not great. Yeah yeah so quick interlude here. We're going to go to defensive interior next guys but before that wanna remind you guys to check out the twitter for the show. It's f- alcoholic live. Give us a fall there if you haven't yet could check out the community. Discord linked to that is in the show description. There's people still chatting and they're even during the dead zone but definitely For game days. That's a lot of fun to check that out as we get closer and closer to the season the patriotic is alive and well we got lots of content. Coming out there more stuff in the works. That is patriot. Dot com slash alcoholic. Live give that a look see as well and then as always guys pleased you like and subscribe. If you haven't already. We appreciate that. Those metrics help us on youtube. Help other people find the show. Thank you so much for that support and then we got one donation other donation from george costanza with the three dollars. Weighing in on the preseason debate says preseason means zilch for about ninety five percent of the roster since most of the spots are set in stone. You do have the backup battles but i be shocked to see more than four or four series for the first team in the entire preseason because if ryan goes down we're done so we're not planning to lose stars and meaningless games. Yeah i agree. George this starters maybe play a half you know in that third. Preseason game basically. Maybe that'll be the second preseason game now but yeah for the most part. You're trying to shake out the bottom of the roster and i guess this year maybe it's a little bit more exciting. Because the falcons do have a lot of guys competing for those bottom of the roster spots you know like usually usually the there is only like maybe four or five open spots on the whole roster with the new regime coming in however it's probably a little bit more open than it would normally be by. Yeah it'll be interesting to see how that shakes. I agree with george. Don't don't risk the starters more than you have to you. You want wanna get them. Used to the game. Action used to take hits a little bit. You know but other than that get out of there as fast as you can so and then we got another donation here from kevin dog. Four twenty five one of our longest tenured patrons and longtime. You're of the show kevin. Thanks for your support. Man he says. Kevin tell your wife happy birthday also. He is hopeful that the defense will play more confidently under dean piece. I agree with both of those counts. It was a great birthday. So thank you. We appreciate that but yeah. Let's let's move onto the defensive interior. This is maybe other than linebacker like the strongest position group on the defense because they have an outstanding player. Obviously in grady jarrett but they also have kind of a stacked group here. Where we're we're looking at cutting a number of of guys that could probably make a roster on on most nfl teams so obviously like i said gray jarrett's here tyler is going to be more than likely your primary run stuffing nose tackle. But then we've got last year second round pick marlon davidson. We've got john kaminski who's still officially listed as interior. Though he i think he might get more shot on the outside..

"Run we were talking about governor thank you for who was the governor before governor David sleepy I thought it was Abercrombie who lost the primary election by the worst of margin of any sitting governor in the history of the United States it's hard to serve role yeah if he had run for if he had run again for the congressional what would not first congressional district as a whole well why would a one because they never would have voted him out of office what it's there it's a wonderfully animosity I know the bottles closest to truck was not as close to renters yeah but that then the now thank you all right with this well I told you I have some breaking news here yeah all right now you realize that you're gonna wait for the break though well no you want me to do it I told you after the better breaking news is prince Harry and Dutch is Meghan make their first joint public appearance since stepping back from oil life showing up in Miami is that big news or because they thought the Superbowl was this weekend that's why yeah little and cares about them really slash one golly I gotta get you a new app for delivery of breaking news I have one we just wish to thirty seconds of air time but it's still a problem you what from the good old days Iggy your thoughts Jim XP no I'm not interested in preserving about he K. perfect creature the lovers has just low common interests well we'll move a lot check is it already I miss hello he is the most unpopular governor it tied with the guy from Connecticut and you know the little article and I know Rick you saw it but the little article basically says you know here was a do nothing governor that had the opportunity to enforce the law whether it whatever side you're on but did nothing about the T. M. T. did absolutely nothing just let it sit up there and faster for a year I mean how can you support how can I don't understand how many ways to support the man not that he's running for anything again he could never win another election in the state we can vote he can run against Abercrombie for something and they'll be no votes on either side with the one you love to have them both back on the city it never was but Abercrombie one sleeve pay per view well no one will be spoken come on let's talk about someone okay okay Sir would you guys like what would you guys all right well I got one for Richard you guys think of the Superbowl the game the game itself M. itself right up until the last eleven minutes are well aware there you whether you lost or one year to every team was overall the are beginning the other the national anthem halftime shows are everything errors what you guys think I I have my comment on about yeah I only but there was only a couple of the commercials that I really liked and usually the commercials are great like the groundhog day thing with Bill Murray that was pretty clever and the one with the John Kaminski with the cool with the Hyundai car that parked itself I thought that was pretty good most of the ride at most a restaurant I don't know okay I didn't do anything for me so Marshall's I thought they really reached out this year to show the fact that Hey we do support the country we do support the military if you notice the emphasis that was on and that's what kind of stood out with me in comparison to previous years so there was a real I think reach out to get fans back that may have kind of wandered off well this not only of probably a pretty good idea since they've been losing viewership and and attendance for years probably a pretty good idea to try to reach out and be a little broader in scope I thought it was a good game I didn't dead on it so really in the end I kind of wonder yeah right I does a good game hi I was kinda routines Sally for Kansas city in and they pulled it off in the end I know there's a controversial call that on the game for them but a and then a half time show you know I like Jennifer Lopez I like her more because she's dating Alex Rodriguez a Yankee but it's he.

"Back Alan Bailey. I mean he's just a guy I don't now now I mean he's he's thirty probably won't be thirty one next year like if it's cheap bring him back but I mean if you move on from him. I don't think it's you going to ruin the defensive line by any means Bailey's contract was structured in such a way that the second year was really sort of a bail out your anyway though. So he's somebody they may not bring. Yeah four and a half million cap hit to keep on. That's the that's a bit much so I think they're probably GONNA walk. But Davidson is definitely to your point. Someone and I can see. Yeah clayborn I think was one of the more underrated Like four sacs from him. He was just so he was third word on the team in sacks on that note. Let's talk about some of the guys who returned Yeah clayborn VIC Beasley type Kinley in another name of throw in there who I think is you know. I've got a little bit of a statement excitement around those John. Kaminsky Yep who was a rookie rookie? I guess This year not coming back. But let's talk about this guys. The guys they're sort of on the edge these Liam Kinley clayborn courtesy. So you started on claiborne. Yeah I I mean you look at his third on the team in sacks of four sacks format his age I mean that's pretty solid and he. He's a veteran like he's exactly what you want. In a veteran he played in. I believe all I believe. He played in fifteen games so Maybe not all sixteen but Yeah I mean ah I hope he comes back. I'm not a contract guy so like I don't know what his like. What it it looks forward to next year like is he still on contract and stuff? But I'd love to see him back just because I think it's important to have veteran presence. We forget like Grady Jarrett. He's he's only I think. Twenty six twenty seven like he's still not even what what he could be in his prime so to speak like he's still young but I mean he's obviously very talented 'cause he's making a pro bowl when he was second team. All all pro and this is interesting. Claiborne was actually. He led the team in hurries. He had thirty nine hurries. Okay and next to him was great. Jared Eric who had twenty nine th hurry so yeah to your point. Clayborn was really getting quarterback staff to move and And then Kaminsky I think with Kaminsky. It is exciting. I think what also played into him not always being out there. Aside from you have an injuring green stuff I I think what needs to be remembered. Is that until like the last week. Most of the coaching staff probably thought we're fighting for our jobs here like they're not going to take risks in run out John Kaminski who's still unproven just to see what he's got it in for me it'd be next year there's such a a the word a I guess a benefit of having job security where you could play around with and be like well you know. We're not making the playoffs. AWFULLEST run John Kaminsky out there you know. Give him a full load in. See how he does But if you're playing for your job you're going to be more hesitant. Be Like No. I can't risk that but I need to keep tack in the Beasley out there. I mean that's probably not who you want to save your job but you know they have more experiences what I'm saying rum but but you're not going to be willing to take more of those risks. I mean earlier in the season even not to bounce around but you saw how When Kiana Neal went down you know there was people like Sharad Me Smith who could have been brought out play Just to see what he had in him but they decided to trade for somebody who had a little more experience just because the coaching staff was willing to take those risks Hopefully you know next year. Quinn's not on the hot seat because the Falcons are doing doing so well that Kaminsky can get you know the playing time he deserves because as me and you know we do we look at the. PF scores and stuff excecutive rated the Games he played in he was he was always in like the top five and he wasn't getting as many places. Everybody else he was taking advantage of the place he got exactly. And that's all that matters and that shows that you know there's potential there and hopefully the staff sees it And hopefully they'll feel inclined to actually use next year but yeah yeah Protect Kinley and victories. Just real quick some some stats consider Tack Finish Number Nine for the Falcons in. NPF in he had thirty three a total pressures Four Saks nineteen hurries. Ten hits in Vic Beasley finished twenty first. Mr Fans are going to be really surprised by that but he actually. I had one of his better seasons from pass rushing standpoint he had thirty six total pressures nine sacks three hits in twenty four hurries. So Oh actually. We mentioned earlier. He finished the back. Half of the season. Really Strong and You know arguably is had outplayed himself into a better contract probably not with Atlanta but some other team is probably GonNa look at his last eight games in safe. We can get that player we can. We can do something them with that. So just some quick thoughts from you on on tack in Vic and a maybe what you think the future holds for them. Yeah I mean I'm sure you you know a lot of fans want the team to move on from Vic But he as you said aside from what you mentioned I believe he finished second in tackles for loss I'm tied with John. Jones Great. He was number one. It for us. you know he he's definitely getting the Backfield He led the team team in sacks only eight. But you know you WANNA see more than that I I think a lot of people would have been more. Open them coming back if it was like ten or something. That's kind of what you want but yeah I just don't see a way for victim back Because I think another team will want to pay him Yes defensive defensive ends in you know unless they're like what three four and they WANNA play linebacker. Whatever it's such a rarity to have somebody who can get you any you know like eight sacks in a season in you know we know what he's capable of in what he's is not capable of in the potential? I think a lot of fans thought he had earlier in his career that we're kind of like all burnt out on it by now especially what he got paid last season so I think he's probably gone but You know that's where having Kaminsky play more and be like give you more. I mean because if he's gone on who steps in like you pretty much have throw commission or draft somebody or sign somebody you know what I mean like. There's no it's a pretty good drop. As bad is Vic Beasley has been like he's still leading the team in a couple of the big categories. We need them to lead in sacks But then you look at TAC TAC. He only played in. I think fourteen games before you got injured Yes what did you say four sacks like he he looks apart he has a high motor They're not gonNA give up on him. This easy I don't think I think he's still got another year or two to Kinda showcase what he has. I breath accused shown. More as a pass rusher Yeah Beasley has I mean he has it led the League Saxon. I think that was the one thing that because if you take that season away vic Vic Beasley was a bus and you know I think that one season Kinda save space form tack hasn't been you know on a national level like a pro bowl or anything like that but he's he's shown potential. I think especially this year. I thought you I think this year was his best season. But you know that's kind of if an and here you know I I think fancy remember tack was playing a good bit of season with the bump shoulder yup which is ultimately what ended his season. And you know the the thing I would say is he has shown more from pass rushing standpoint. Convicted Vick was always sort of a one trick. Pony now he he was speed rusher in never did develop much from a pass rush standpoint a tack at least has shown the ability to use spin moves Good hand in usage He can convert speed power We've seen him bull rush guys and be really successful with that so I think tax still has lot potential. I think we we have to revise sort of our expectations or a pass rusher taken in the first round. They're not all going to be von Miller and get you fifteen eighteen sixteen sacks year but if you can get a guy that's going to get you seven eight nine sacks maybe be a complimentary guy a there is still a ton of value like you said Ed for a pass rusher that can get you that and it's a big reason why vic to your point we'll probably get signed somewhere else. Team is going to see his nine sacks this this year in say we can do something with that and we're GONNA pay more than minimum contract to to lure him here so don't be surprised you know for people glistening if Vick gets not from Atlanta. I don't expect it to happen from here. But don't be surprised if he gets a deal with a seven eight million on it You know a million per sack if you will. Yeah Yup definitely and I think it also helps when you have like a constant pressure. Sure on the other side like tech was doing good I think but You look at you know. Probably one of the defensive lines in the NFL Right now oh him. We'll see him in the playoffs. This weekend Vikings You see how Dinio Hunter in Everson Griffen benefit off each other I think hunters finished the regular season with fourteen or fifteen sacks in Griffin. Probably about eight. You got to have like a double punch their you know I think the forty niners have a similar thing with Was it Bosa in D. Ford or something like that In the Falcons really don't have that It's not I don't think costing them games. But it's certainly something you'd like to have And you know maybe they'll get it eventually but I think we're just more focused on trying to get one good pass rusher then we're not really worth about getting a second complementary guy yeah to that point if they do get another good pass rusher in I think you could see tack. Oh yeah that was. My voice asked year yeah. I hope my point wasn't getting lost their that. If you have a really like Daniel Hunter it is only benefitting off having Everson Griffen. It's that's the only reason. The Falcons fell into the whole Ray Edwards thing years ago was jared Allen was so so good that it was free and Upper Edwards. You know these people in the NFL they. They're not terrible as much as you want to think Ray Edwards herbage it wasn't terrible. He just was looking a lot better. Because of who who's playing on the other side of the Line Jared Allen Who I guess? He's a hall of Famer. I don't know where he's really good. He made some approachable. But that was my overall point. I just wanted to get lost in so overall quality. The defensive line you almost you have to look at it as first half of the season for second half of the season so if you're going to give them a grade A. Through F. What would your assessment of the two thousand eighteen.

"Welcome to the book. And here's observer podcasts. Phillips Molly May Twenty First Two thousand nineteen we got the Atlanta Falcons coming up this week. Injury report came out today days. Thursday Dhamar Dodson didn't practice Wednesday but returned to practice Thursday. Will Goldstone has an ankle injury. Green had him limited all week. Carl Nassib still dealing with the groin injuries. And he's also been limited this week. Anthony Nelson has has a hamstring injury. That sidelined him last week so he hasn't practiced all week. J. P. P. has a knee injury. He didn't practice Wednesday eh but returned Thursday in a limited capacity. I told you didn't look right during the saints game. Yeah he was real when he sluggish. Was He just not have any both both NJ Stewart still dealing with a nagging knee injury and he hasn't practiced all week and Jameis. Winston is on the injury report with that ankle injury. He sustained last week but he's practicing at full capacity. So that's all we got on our side on the Atlanta's side Desmond. True Font has a toe injury. He was limited Wednesday but return earn on Thursday to a full capacity. Matt Ryan has an ankle injury. He didn't practice Wednesday but returned Thursday Julia. The Jones has a foot. Injury didn't practice Wednesday full participant. Thursday devante Freeman the running back. He's had a foot injury. He's been out. I think weeks he did. He hasn't practiced all week and safety. Kemal Ishmael has a concussion. He hasn't practiced week defensive end. John Kaminski has an ankle injury. He didn't practice Wednesday but returned in a limited capacity on Thursday Austin Hooper who has an MC L. Sprain in his me. He hasn't practiced all week tackle. McKinley defensive in he's got a shoulder injury and he hasn't practiced all week. And then Adrian. Clayborn has a groin injury. He didn't practice Wednesday but returned Thursday in L. Limited capacity no Adrian. Clayborn was with the Falcons again still defendants but yeah I think he went to New England and then came back to the Falcons knows. They're starting now. I don't think he's behind. Tucker's McKinley on injuring report. This falcons team. It's been a tale of two teams really going into their bye week. They they were one in seven. I think they allowed thirty. One points three points a game and they had a total of seven sacks in eight games and and only four takeaways after the bye week when they made some coaching changes. Dan Relinquish play calling duties on the defense. It's a really weird configuration. That we've talked about before on the podcast but linebackers coach Jeff. Overwork suck over first. And second down. playcalling on the defense and then Raheem Morris who. He's still listed on the website as an assistant head coach slash passing game coordinator slash wide receivers coach. But he's been moved to secondary coach southern need update their website. He's just calling plays on third down they're down and in two minutes situations. It is really weird and you would think as we've experienced with the buccaneers that when when he get too many cooks in the kitchen. Maybe there's a little bit of confusion but it's worked out of their way for the Falcons. It seems to be really working out for them because they I made this change and came back from the by their to an hour after the bye. They beat the absolute shit out of the saints and the the panthers the panthers. It wasn't even close. It was bad the saints the score was twenty six to nine and a reminder finder. That was the game where drew brees did not score. Touch challenge was the first time he had done that in the Dome and then in the Panthers the score was twenty nine to the three so held them to no touchdowns Kyle Allen threw four interceptions. He had a rating of forty seven and a half he he had thirty one completions fifty total throws had three hundred twenty five yards in foreigners options and he got sacked five times. I was looking at his comparison to Jameis Winston and he's got ten touchdowns and nine interceptions which is actually worse than what Jama's has got he's got no it's not worth James's got nineteen touchdowns. Eighteen interceptors is almost as bad so about the same about the same and of course Alan one is only started five games six games games. Yeah he's not playing that great. Well he's playing all right. I guess not against the Falcons now now does not jump makes worse than any other this season. Slender Games like this. Where we have the potential to get that crap crap knocked out of us let's this crazy scheduling? The Falcons played the saints then Carolina. Then they play us then they play. Play the saints again. And then Carolina against they have a five game good vision streak right. In the middle of the season they went to the saints and to Carolina Carolina. There are home with us. And then the saints come to Leeann and Carolina all come to Atlanta a heck of a time for them to get on a roll I now. They've also had some shakeup in the defense besides just the coaching change. They've been shifting guys all around now. Vicar Beasley it was at the start of the season. Just playing at one spot on the defensive line but now they're starting to move him around which we talked about this with the saints preview. A how how. The Falcons Defensive Line just caused a lot of chaos moving around and so the Beasley was part of that. Then they've had some injuries desmond. TRAUMAS found out so they had a rookie. Kendall Sheffield playing for him now. That came back which he came back during the Carolina game. Sheffield move to nickelback. And then they had demonte Qazi. He was playing nickel. They have him back at free safety. Because they've lost two defensive backs to injured reserve. Kiana Neil and James Cyprian so they with injuries. They tried to move move guys around and didn't have as much success so some of the guys came back and they were able to reconfigure it so they had a really good game against Kyle Ellen picking him aw four times they hadn't had an interception in seven games and they haven't had a turnover in four games before the Carolina game they still. I'll have a minus eight turnover differential. Which is twenty seventh in the League? The box have a minus ten. So we're twenty ninth in the League so about evenly matched their there. That's something that's GonNa Change in only like Brazilian said turnovers. Come in bunches you know. And the Atlanta Falcons are a perfect example. You know they got four games dame's or however many games without turn over all of a sudden they get what seven or eight in two games and we saw that last year with the buccaneers. We had a drought of few games. And then I think the Carolina game where Andrew Adams got three and our guys are getting real close monroe close the the bunting. He almost had a beautiful interception last week. A great play on the wall. So you know it's common and Matt Ryan will throw some interceptions. He's in that had dirt cutter offense offense. The their philosophy is just rent that his rivet spin he came up with Matt Ryan. You know our our a secondary has to be on point. If you fall down slip get confused Coverage Matt Ryan is going to make pay for doubt. He's probably the best in the business at that. Like I say today. It doesn't appear to me like he goes through progression so much as it is. He looks for opportunities on the defense screwing up and believe it or not. We don't have a lot a lot of that which brings me to another point address. The second a lot of flack Milan podcasts. For saying that are secondary played. Well I'm not saying they played great Yeah definitely see the potential there for them to play but what I'm saying is that they can't be solely blamed for the all the passing yards. Were giving up a large part of that falls on land because the quarterback calculations about thirty percent of the passing yardage is on the linebackers in particular. Kevin admits error from first couple of weeks when Devon White was out and now Devon White. And it's not really a duck putting down the linebackers. I mean. They're having to go against some crazy. Good a receivers. I think definitely just hasn't caught up to the speed of the game yet and the the scheme you know understanding what they're supposed to do it does it. Seems like they get really confused a lot with where they're supposed to be at who they're supposed to be covering and you see it all the time Lante David and we'll be yelling at people are pointing pointing or right before the ball snapped. And then if the quarterbacks they take advantage of that and just like last week with drew brees I I felt like they were targeting Devon white a lot because they know that's the weak link in our coverage and you could see in the tape guys would be telling Devon been white basically where to go where lineup to do. And he's the guy with the communication thing on the back of his helmet right. Yeah he's willing to call snap the plays how he'd has analogy supposed to be doing what I'm saying. He doesn't know what he's supposed to be building but it it's really more of just a hesitation and there was one play in particular where he got just just a little bit. He went just a little bit too far. Michael Thomas took advantage of man. You talk about their big forty one. yarder yeah in the Dow was designed to get Michael Thomas Match with the change. Did it perfectly and you can tell in that Clip Devon White was just hesitant you know if he would have an and you can also see in the clip to. I think it was called. Today was an Levante was both pointed to Devon White. Saying he's coming your way you know. That's your guy and Devon white kind of went inside instead instead of running with Michael Thomas and it was just a it was just a brief little stutter. And that was enough. Thomas Dodd Blazer I by any quite a bit it's just you know he's just like like you said it's the speed of the game. You can't do false steps you can't hesitate in we're asking our inside linebackers do a lot now. David's not having a problem with it all but he's also what an eight year. We're really asking them to do a lot. You know I'm not saying he's bad I did say he doesn't seem like a fifth round or v Top five traffic to me saying he can't turn into one but he's not he's not a game changer. He's not you know Bank of plays left and right I mean he's made a few plays days this year but he's made more mistakes and he's made plays and to me. That's how I judge a player one of the reasons why I didn't like Jerry McCoy you know because he made way more mistakes sakes and he did plays not probably a factor of three to one and that's just unacceptable especially when you make one hundred million dollars in. That's one of the reasons..

"Thing where it's like. You don't know what you wanna do with him but you just know you want him on the field because it's he's he's a weapon ex-packer <hes> which is kind of like what casey's been showing <hes>. I'm very excited about him because i hate to brag or anything like that but i was one of those like when we first brought him in i was like because i already knew who he was in. I was really hoping the team would keep him in obviously usually he didn't end up on our practice squad <hes> or make the roster but when he came back i was thrilled because i didn't know like i'm not going to say i know what what he's doing now these balling out <hes> this whole preseason but he knew he had some potential any showing. I couldn't be happier form. He's definitely learned a spy <hes> yeah. I mean any so young too. It's like we. We have a great young defense. I mean if you look at the team. Overall our veterans quote unquote are like kiana neon dion jones. It's like you know you're still young lady gary. That's already leaders in their not <unk>. They're younger than i am. I i mean. I don't know i love the defense. <hes> just shows you. They're obviously going to take a leap leap this year because we've got healthy guys and stuff like that but it's like even the de is great so by it's tough to follow up on onset because he broke it down so perfectly and so i just wanted to focus on grace 'cause he's stood out clearly to everyone agree with both you and and i'm excited about grace dan quinn bottom the guys got fantastic coverage abilities <hes> you know he may need to work on his run <hes> his run defense but you put this guy against a running back and i feel like he's an yet again another linebacker that can stick with guys in coverage which is in in today's n._f._l. L. is arguably more important than the run stopping <hes> so to wrap up our conversation about the defense. We're going to talk about the defensive line nine nine guys over all this is going to include both interior and the pass rushers because i think this year we're going to see some odd formations. We saw some five two formations formations from the falcons upfront in the preseason. We could see some truth. Three four looks with guys tack kinley standing up <hes> so we're just going to treat the defensive offensive line is one unit nine guys here the names alan bailey who they recently signed from kansas city adrian clayborn who's coming back from the when <hes> when you're with patriots john kaminski the fourth round draft pick attack mckinley vic beasley junior evans favorites. It's jack crawford. <hes> who is criminally underrated <hes> fantastic interior pass rusher deodorant who think many people thought might be on the bubble. He has made the roster roster tyler davidson who was arguably one of the free agent signings of this off season and of course crazy jarrett grady did make the roster oster this year one name that we are not saying rasheed hagman who <hes> the falcons could potentially still carry on the roster he will not count towards is a fifty three because he has served a two game suspension at the beginning of the season so you could potentially say this defensive line has ten <hes> and i'm not sure if someone that factors into the long term plans for the falcons <hes> but he could be carried for the first two weeks cut in week three or the teen in could look to make moves full-back to keep him. We'll see that's that's. That's something that's certainly going to be a spoke. We the foul colleague..

"Has been happened Sirius XM channel eighty there is more news beyond interlocking the NFL may not seem like it but there is more news and and you're lucky we're just talking about it with feel the aids all things football free as being does a tremendous job let's get a few things by the way it was funny about pre season before we get into this would be at well when the hall of fame game first heads everyone is so starved for football like this going to have a good one to death in two thousand nineteen will never have a weekend where there's no NFL football this is the best and then by the end of preseason like all my god did pre season get over Thursday night it is and we're gonna be adds forty Niners charge jobs Thursday night and since I'm already hoping it's over I mean it it's the fourth preseason game is always been bad but it is the last few years it's gotten to a level where nobody of relevance at all plays no matter if you're a good team a bad team a young team old team it doesn't matter nobody any good place in the fourth preseason game for the most part we scared to get anybody hurt you know you didn't get you citizens ways like Lamar Miller which related to Lamar Miller blows out is ACL and the it's not like a major like retiring but the Texans are say wait a minute we want to run the ball play defense what are we gonna do well there's a few different things that they could do which Melvin Gordon's name is going to come up it did with feel the aids they are you got rid of Dante form right yeah they're looking I got news for Texas fans you're not getting see okay Jerry Jones is not trading him but he sure is in training in Houston Texas so you can forget that by the way the cowboys beat the Texans thirty four zip so it was a bad night all around the field Yates did suggest maybe Melvin Gordon to the Texans now he did say that they would have given extension look you have to give an extension if clown he's coming back yet human extension if Melvin Gordon's coming your team you have to give in to an extension what would you think of Melvin Gordon to the Texans that ring anything for you well I mean to be a great move for the Texans for the Chargers are Superbowl contender in that we you know I mean I know the Chargers have a couple other backs but none of them anyway or anything close to approaching the caliber of Melvin Gordon so if I'm Tom to less go the general manager of the Los Angeles Chargers I don't see how I advance it's to my advantage to move Gordon and then what I'm gonna lean in Austin that color and Justin Jackson and think I'm gonna go to the Super Bowl with that combo so whether that's the difference he is the cowboys wanna go to the Superbowl the Chargers want to go to the Superbowl it's not advisable even though the the addition is the valued a bit and look we saw it last year levy on bell James Connor comes in no problem but if you if your one of those two teams you wanna get this guy side the question I mean Ezekiel Elliott is I think the best back in all football I really do I does he sleep the he's he stays healthy he runs between the tackles he wants to get to the deluxe catches yeah he's he's a huge percentage of their offense a little less last year after the added Amari Cooper but you get the picture minuscule LEDs the he's the bell cow back and saw from Dallas I'm not moving him and as far as Gordon is concerned if I had a great young back if I was like Minnesota has Alexander Madison is a tremendous young Bacchae sitting behind Dalvin cook if that was the situation you had an Alexander Madison yet up big time back that you believe in right to step in I'll be one thing but that color Justin Jackson the this is a serious multiple stab thirty seven your order back as great as rivers is he needs a running game behind him that's a little restaurant in the thing we talked about speaking of the Texans to David Clowney around this time last year Khalil Mack change the fortunes of the Chicago Bears can J. Davy and cloudy do that for the right team well he is he's the he's a new gimmick player John because he is an outstanding edge rusher as you know but pro football focus annually grades him out as one of the better run defenders among the pass rushers in the entire league so he's a very versatile player who am I guarantee there's twelve teams in the NFL that are trying to figure out a way to get him well I I I look at teams in the top if you're a pass rusher away but here here's what's complicating the NFL why there are too many trades you've got to get the player you got assigned to extension you've got a has finally come in a trade you got to have the cap room there's so many things you have now look the bears you looked at him and said Hey right now look nobody could something clawback was gonna make the kind of impact he did on that defense he was kind of a missing piece on a defense but when they come together run game defense they come in the running a new offense and and look where they went to David Clowney isn't Khalil Mack though he's not that dynamic now look you look like a coming out he's had some injuries he's not the player that he was but that that doesn't mean he can't help if you are a pass rusher away but it all comes down to what does he want how much money does he wanted because hello my got a ton of money does he want that kind of money dizzy fans himself that kind of player because he does I think it's gonna have to sit out I think the falcons make a lot of sense I mean if you look at their team you know Dion Jones as their middle backer tremendous player is good as any middle backer going right now and you get Desmond true font Kiana Neil I say all over get some nice players in your secondary but upfront you're leading and tack McKinley graded share it Alan Bailey check out the rookie at a Charleston John Kaminski I mean if you could somehow add Clowney to what they have done that that that would make the falcons a really solid football team Dan Quinn's defense of head coach they already have Matt Ryan he's in the prime of his career they still have divine tae Freeman they like the weapons Julio Jones Ahmanson new Calvin Ridley and leave the ready to roll was ready to dial up some fresh on that defense of one well you're talking to Dan Quinn to who is a defense recorder for the Seahawks in Superbowl winning kind of guiding you you give him to David Clowney I think you can fulfill some some potential there they draft a lot of guys to rush the passer they just haven't come through the way that they need but like you said look a few years ago this was a Superbowl caliber off instantly and cal Shanahan running it but still they still have met right in the still of Julio Jones a still of the month a Freeman they have the pieces defensively is where they've struggled you put him jeritan ice player who they just re signed Jones I guess that is a ton of speed a linebacker they could be some Baltimore's interesting too they had a real Thomas on the back and there's been a lot of money but they could use a big time rush or like Connie I wouldn't look at the baseball coming up next did we just witnessed a World Series preview may not recognize the teams because they were just in black and white that being the Dodgers and the Yankees in course herd on ESPN radio last man next who's been in baseball for over forty years if we just saw the World Series preview into that John Leffler Kruger on ESPN radio stories in sports are back this sixty produces viewers faces and places nine AM eastern more.

"And we are back on the faculty podcasts david walker with gina thomas and our guest writer at the athletic adjacent but we're going to dive right into while i'm calling the hype machine <hes> we're going to i think this is critical during training training camp <hes> during the preseason because inevitably there are a whole list of names fans begin to get attached to you. Gina several years ago was bernard ridi off speeding really speeding. I think the year after that it was amsterdam mr damn. I can't remember the guy's real name the wide receiver from amsterdam remember from their hard knock sheer. There's one every year you know they're. It's definitely one guy every year that you know. All the fans are on the hype train shoe so the decade so yeah so we're gonna go through. I want to attack some of the names that have been standing <music> out for one reason or the other in camp and i want to get a feel from both of you on whether the hype is real or whether we need to start cooling down some of the the hype for these guys and i think the first name will wanna jump on because at hell we have even seen it promoted from the atlanta falcons account themselves. We've seen the pictures of this this rookie player holding the football and you know grimacing into the camera lens and that is of course <hes> fourth round pick john kaminsky <hes> he came out of charleston the division to school. He's got crazy measurable. 's as far as his the the combined type numbers <hes> he was crazy productive division to <hes> and i think he had a a a a fairly good hall of fame game showed up on special team showed up on defense sa- jason. Let's start with you. John kaminski is the hype real or do we need to do. We need the coldest down a little bit just a tad. I don't even want to say cooler down. I don't i don't know what you would just let it simmer. Maybe i don't know let it simmer as perfect. I don't want to take anything away league from him but i i do want before. We just go all in on john kaminsky. I think we need to see him. Against some some starter type competition <hes> he had a great senior bowl and he had a good hall same game. These aren't these aren't guys that are regular n._f._l. Players so oh i wanna see before we really get into it. I i especially with rookies. I wanna see him. Go against better competition before i start saying okay. This guy is the real deal gina joan kaminsky <hes> yeah you know i've got to i've got angry with jason like i was going go into this caution. Everybody like it's it's preseason. Things are barely like approaching game speed speed. All of these game. Plans are super vanilla. Nobody is taking the seriously everybody is just trying to get her practice completely different based so we're really not at the point where me can really assess how he is going to fit in here. I think that he's been great so far in the one thing that does stand outs me. The dan when keats hyping up about him is work ethic and that you know he does have a relentless motor in those kinds of things so i think that you can look at those things indefinitely be excited but i mean let's that's kinda. Keep that excitement in the proper context switches pump the brakes just a little bit. I like the let it simmer. I think that is we're gonna don't uh-huh going forward is a good way to say it. Yes indeed jillian with the next name and this is the name who has popped up a ton in a ton and training camp and the preseason arguably the last preseason game was he made some really impressive catches of course..

"In the flat okay so those you know those little flat route thing that he runs Kareem Jackson just sort of telegram he's watched it was it was Taylor I mean there was nobody within a couple yards a few yards and Joe Flacco kana did a check off when you knew the whole time he was going to the flat this is something by the way Benjamin I'm a little concerned about with this offense the telegraphed stick flat slant cross these inside a five yard plays baby really really lean on a lot this was that example so that was the first pick six the defense has been going up against those for two straight weeks in the starting to learn yeah what's coming where where the plants outweigh the cut is their timing they're gonna be jumping those things to so this is why it's good to get scrimmages and games against other teams we got one coming up against the Niners a couple weeks that's going to be helpful to kind of mix it up switch Apraksin against but a career this this defense is designed to do that too it's designed to sit there and can't back and wait and try to make cuts on the ball and get those turnovers it's it's what we saw in Chicago Lester's what Vic Fangio we brought in here to do is to take his defense and make it that defense so good for them for for doing those things the offenses is has been an Achilles heel for this team last couple of years they brought in new office according to quarterback and it's got some some growth to do but based on what I saw in the hall of fame game they're the real base install portion this you're gonna see other phone yes you're gonna you're gonna see plenty of other things they have some reliable place I like to go to be eager to see other things okay that that actually Priceline's up nice because you you make a good point this defense the coin can this offense now a lot and the tendencies right the tendencies for those flat stick slant outs pretty obvious at this point it was pretty obvious even just from watching on the sideline that Joe Flacco was trying to look off the safety because he wanted to go to Riddick in the flat and as soon as he did that Kareem Jackson just jump right in front of into the house and that's what they're doing they're they're right they're keying the reeds in on things the offenses get yeah the other one was what Justin Simmons has had a lot of luck with the trip all right being right around the ball playing center field read this one was off fill planes he it was a little bit up but Kareem Jackson was just Johnny on the spot and he was either but this is something we love about this defense they're gonna have guys in this sound effects that can be guys around the ball all the time that's the point the umbrella zone the idea is to clog passing lanes get hands the passing lane to read react to the quarterback and you can if you don't intercept the ball you least get a handle on it bad it up in the air and give the guy behind you a chance at making a play that's part of the reason that we have actually scenes but their inside linebackers to so tall the theory is you can get up put a hand on the ball is safety make a play on it so that's that's part of what you're seeing right now is is this philosophy bore now but that's that's the premise of this defense yeah and we're seeing a bear out just assume it's as five picks careens get involved in the party now you get quite a few of the guys to get a vase bees gotten a few yards got a few Harris I think it's got to come you see everybody kinda get involved in this is right and they should be you wanna see that carry over to games now these preseason games you want to see some characters no turnovers and that's one of the beauties of what what Chicago was last year right especially their safety with their safeties the eight that's something today been about the safeties last year Eddie Jackson Adrian Amos with a starting safeties the Chicago Bears are the Bronco starting safeties occurring Jackson and Justin Simmons better the same or worse the Broncos starting safe you're better that's what I said yes that's what I said talent wise I think they're better yeah I'm with that I don't believe they are better right on that is not an argument I don't think to be had no I mean you know they they had a monster year means Chicago led the league in interceptions I mean that but that that's the thing is like sometimes we look for constant sometimes it's like reaching for calm don't think reaching here now that they are better the the range here Justin's more athletic than either one that they feel that last year Eddie Jackson or Adrian Amos Kareem I I think is a more instinctive defensive back is played the corner position splayed safety positions was more well rounded I I think moving him back to safety now at this point is career was clearly lost a step but is not able to keep up with guys going vertical is good for him but he's a very instinctive corners but around he's willing here it's been around awhile I I think that they're a better group of safety that I like a jagged reading was just the guy but I like the Jackson Jax is pretty rangy safeties get good ball skills but Justin I I think is better and he's more athletic I I think ultimately the bottom line in the ceiling with Justin Simmons is higher end in the bare spots a little Adrian Amos they just let him walk abroad ha ha Clinton Dix so I you know I I think that should tell you but you know all you need to know about that situation three oh three seven one three eighty five eighty five five six six nine zero is our techs line Hey guys Mr over the weekend when Langly fumbled the punt return and John Comiskey Bo John Kaminski help again like a lot came up with it all I could think of was damn Ryan was right we should draft of yeah I I we had a chance to interview John Kaminski during the pre draft process and we really liked him quite a bit I mean the the the the fact is that the Broncos opted at inside linebacker to go with Holland I mean that that's really what we've seen so far with Justin Hollands as they've mixed him in the hall of fame game outside inside and they're they're gonna try developments in inside backer well yeah they do both they they're coming off the attorneys got he's got a ridiculous body reminds you Julius peppers a little bit when you look we just look at him now he's not you know the player is much more raw than Julius peppers was but he kind of reminds you of Julius peppers in a lot of ways when you look at him physically they like to move around a like for him to be able to be a guy who can play that inside backer of the two four five I'd like to be able to see him go away from the football you've used him to rotate them in there a little bit I think he's he's skill set is best used coming down hill after the quarterback but I get over the coming from and you know hopefully they can coach him into that role Mike Klis today our nineties Broncos insiders gonna join us a little while said that Josie jewel had a side pull but it's not considered.

"Oh three seven one three eighty five eighty five if you want to talk to us about today's practice we have more to talk about than just the skirmish we will get back into that is so we have a few more details you actually thought all yeah we will we will talk about actual football cream Jackson had to pick six US today but that to pick sixes what quarterback drew Joe Flacco so the first one and and you'll appreciate this because Simmons has been getting interceptions a lot like this too in the second one more than anything but the first was a perfect read it was it and and I have something else want to add to this to that I'm I'm curious and your reaction to the first one was a perfect read it was theoretic in the flat okay so those you know those little flat route thing that he runs Kareem had a side pull but it's not considered serious you're gonna see the three top inside linebackers maybe not play on Thursday Todd Davis Josy joy one Joe Jones we never you know Todd Davis Joe Jones or not to play right the probably take it easy with jewel pressured it's a meaningless preseason game so Watson B. area Alexander Johnson and just announce gives you a lot of time to sit there and try out guys you want to try out you might not have otherwise done that normalize game plans tonight will get a lot of tape on guys that you want to take a look at I think it's a good thing said Josie die obviously with you they the the final score doesn't matter everything but the final score matters in this game and you already know who what Josie is and you've got so sit him get Alexander Johnson there get those guys a rescue Shabir the wraps if you want to you want to experiment with Justin Hollands at that inside backer position little bit experiment with him that's how you treat these preseason games I know the fans don't like paying full price to come out see meaningless games I get that and that part of it is probably something that they should look into but coaches scouts players they love it is extra wraps chance to shine a chance to win that job it's a tropical so it may is make a break for some these guys going over the top of the hour are in a fell insider Ian Rapoport is going to join us we have a lot of things to talk to him about including Tom Brady's contracted you see today that there something some kind of language where they're obviously not gonna franchise or transition tag and even as he put it for a second he could end up being a free agent fourteen could actually make a call yeah that's been the standard thing on him since doctor last five or six yeah it's not gonna go anywheres been fired last five or six years of Tom Brady's for that kind of stuff goes he just wants basically to do a year to year thing it is the winds down his career we'll hear from Vic Fangio after practice a Mike Klis will join us a little later on the program but coming up next Kareem Jackson on his big day out there on the field to pick sixes will talk to me about it coming up next right there was Benjamin Albright this is.

"Charles Charles Harris. I think you do see him lining up the end. It's at a two point stance. And they're gonna they're gonna scheme him to have help from the inside in Casey does get pushed out. But so I think they get more out of him. I definitely not the biggest Charles Harrison. So at the end of the day. I don't think you get the twenty second overall pick worth out of him. But I think he's a guy that you can get enough out of him that if come contract time, you can pay him, like a third pass rusher than it might be worth it. I don't think they're going to turn him around. He's going to become a superstar anything come. Oh, that's too bad. I mean I wasn't a huge fan of that pick. But thought that they might be able to do something with it. Would you just I mean while we're talking about Mizzou guys chain raise just kind of kicking around out there. Would you take a chance? Why would I lie? Charles Harris now bless list, less enjoyable Charles Harris teaboy. Yeah. No, I mean. Yeah. No, I mean, most of those, Missouri guys they're outside of your Kony ealy is. And who's the other while the actually had some length Alden Smith? Most of those guys are like that, like they advertise them as six four. They're more. Realistically, like six three in, you know, three eighths. Their arm length is in as long as you'd like it to be. But that's just based on being six three compared to being sold a six four six five. They all have a good first step, because that's like the main thing out of their system. But all they ask those guys to do is be two point stance. Pass rushers most of the time, and that's, that's all there is to it ITO. Because most of the time, they, they I've seen Missouri run where they just essentially stack their linebackers in nickel with both guys kinda lined up on like an outside aid out, look. And then they have both their defensive tackles and three tax or like inside shade fours. Like so they, they run like a wild NASCAR package sometimes. And they've been so bad for so long that like they're chasing teams twenty four seven so at the end of the day, I, I don't think he Missouri pass rusher is going to be high on my list, unless they come with other attributes outside of that typical norm that they look for you guys at the edge. I get my God. There were so many lame white edge players, this year, that I wanted so bad. Just because they set the edge. Yeah. Well, I was bonuses Zack Allan. Yeah. Zona was air. Yeah. Of course or John Kaminsky, John Kaminski's. The other guy wanted out in Charleston..

"Came on day three and for team that's trying to get into arms racing compete with the New Orleans Saints and the LA Rams the falcons, I felt routine that took a lot of high or high ceiling boat, very low floor type players, and I don't think any of these guys are ready to contribute right away. Kendall Sheffield from Ohio State is very clean very unfixable with his play. I think he needs to get a lot stronger if he's gonna hold up at the NFL level. John Kaminski's really interesting story defensive lineman from Charleston. He's a former quarterback Levy put on eighty pounds during his time at the college level. But to take him at one thirty five you watch his tape, and you could tell you for quarterback because he's he's. Got a lot of growth to do from techniques standpoint. And he was kinda just a great athlete who excelled at a low low level of competition was surprised to see them. Go Qadri all listen to running back from from Pittsburgh to the. I mean, don't get me wrong. I liked Olsen as a player, but they lost having Coleman. I was expecting for them to look for a guy that could bring a little bit more in the receiving game. There were some backs and a lot of really good backs that came off the board late that could have contributed in a role to help fill that that void of losing Kevin Coleman. And listen, I think is kinda just a pure power back a guy that's gonna work between the tackles for you. So I think he's a change of pace. But I didn't really get the fit and the Jordan Miller from Washington and Marcus green from Louisiana Monroe, one seventy two and two or three were their selections. Miller was a guy for me that I thought another unfeasible corner. So in a little concerned about his physicality. He's got some some thermally issues. One hundred eighty six. Pounds. So just surprised to see them go with so many guys that while they have asked Letica ability. I don't think they're anywhere near ready in the falcons the need to compete, and they need day weren't contributors to help them stay competitive in the NFC. And I I think they missed the Mark with all those day three guys and even Kayla mccarey. You know, it's interesting. One of the things I was thinking about when you look at mcgarry and Lindstrom and Quadri Olsen. It just seems like I wonder if some of these teams those guys and then you look like a titans drafting Nate Davis after they sign Roger staff old and free agency. And they've got Derrick Henry running back. It seems like some of these teams might be trying to zig while everybody else sags and his teams are getting a little lighter and more sub defenses and all that stuff..

See to just me and Paul ranting each other about the role of the government and check us out on Tuesdays. When I have seen every episode. Subscribe verse wherever podcasts reserved, we'll see them. And we're back on the falcons podcast with Gina Thomas. Eric Robinson and Kevin night talking about the falcons two thousand nineteen draft class. We just talked about high state quarterback kindle Sheffield who was taken in the fourth round by the falcons. Let's talk about their next fourth round pick. And now this Charleston defensive in John Kaminsky. This guy has some interesting attributes to him he. Am let you guys get to this in a second. But he is a big boy he's six five to eighty five to ninety in that range. He is the he's got the sort of the Bill that you know, the falcons like in their defensive lineman. He ran a four six nine forty our dashboard, which for that size is pretty impressive. Just over seven seconds in the three cone drill which is again, really good athleticism. This is a guy that even though the he didn't play at the highest levels in college. A lot of people five he could be asleep or pick for being a developmental guy because of just the sheer athleticism that is makes him stand out in the crowd. So Eric go you first on this guy. What are your thoughts on the falcons taking him? John Kaminski in the fourth round of the draft class require. Honest with you when it comes to the selection of Kaminsky, I was probably as equally excited about this pick as some people were with the first round picks along I think Kamensky is is a diamond in a rough and in the fourth round. That's when you start the teams take a shot on those were all players that you you can be able to moat later on down the line and Kaminsky is one of those guys like you mentioned he six five two hundred eighty six pounds ran a four six nine at the combine. But he also has seventy nine seven nine inch wingspan and he had a four point three eight twenty yard shuttle, which is incredible or a guy almost three hundred pounds. That's pretty damn the again, he's right now, I think he's, you know, strictly strong side divas event with ability to kick in on the interior on passing downs. In Russia in the interior like, you said the level competition is you know, it is is a big red flag to most teams, you know, when you look at the little bit of film that he asked he's dominating the Lebanon. He slowing office limelight. Right. Not to mention was a lot of people don't know as he came to the cost Charleston. As adults quarterback though. Oh, How? hell. Threat quarterback who two hundred ninety pound beef in who's throwing office of Lima left-right again, he's a diamond in a rough. I think you give him a year. And I would not be surprised if in a year from now this guy is you know, able to to create pressure consistently possibly get seven or eight sacks. I saw interesting comparison with him someone compared him to Jared Allah or Vikings defense event. And I think that's an interesting comparison because again both came from small schools both or low rough around the edges when it comes to their skill sets. But you know, given time they were able to you know, they were able to to showcase what they can do best in that's in its right and cause pressure. So get like, I said Comiskey should be, you know, level your expectations for me twenty nineteen. I think he will be potted a rotation in twenty nineteen but Wayne. Twenty twenty and I think we can really re benefits. Awesome. Ginny. Your thoughts on Kaminsky. You know, David. I love a good bargain. And if you're getting a player like Kamensky of late in the fourth round that is a bargain, I'm a big fan fills a need. I think his ceiling is very high. He has the athleticism in the speed that tan loves, you know, he loves people to be fast fastened, physical. That's kamensky..

"You'll be glad you did. One other giants question for those who love big blue. Six pick in the draft. Do you believe they'll be in play for Dwayne Haskins at quarterback, or do you think that this general manager is determined to build both lines and get his quarterback next year? I think he's I know I think they're I think they're I in quarterback here. And if it falls, right? And I also believe I don't think that that it's a lot that they say it six now would they package six and seventeen together. I don't believe. So just based on what I'm hearing from Dave Gettleman about the value of multiple picks, including multiple first round pick. So I don't see in going from two to one again. But maybe he takes that six along with another pick and fly up a couple. I think it's a very much in flux because at six they don't control out of things. There's a lot can happen in front of them, including teams jumping them and get them in the kind of guy where he can look at it and say, you know, what if somebody's coming up Cuyler Mary jumping us to get Haskins. And all of a sudden defensive players are falling. Screw it will. Take a defensive player, and we'll get better from an edge rusher standpoint, or whatever they see their whether it's Clinton Williams, or whatever I'm just throwing out named at this point. But you get the way that get them get them and toll thing value value value. So I don't think the walk. They take quarterback, but they've got their eyes on I like what he thinks about value value value. But this is a team that has waited an interminable amount of time to get a quarterback of the future. And if they win six games this year, somehow, which I don't see if they win six games this year and end up picking drafting, tenth or whatever. And there's no way they'll be able to get just in Herbert or whoever the big star next year is you know, this team has got to stop putting off going to get its quarterback period. And so I understand we're going to go for value. But you know, under that case, you know, ally manning is going to be suiting up with. Cain in eleven years and still going to be the guy Mike we're gonna finish. And I'm going to ask you about a story that you're in the process of doing I want you to explain to America who cozine Daniels. Daniels university mispronounced, you're good. You're good. And one of the things I mentioned earlier, Peter I love the fact that the NFL network lets me do different things, and we've got different avenues. Because all we do is football. So we've got a lot of ways to get the info out. I I was able to do a feature that's going to run in the next month before the draft on on Qasr. And I love also Peter the NFL draft because we spent so much time talking about the guys at the top of the draft, but there's great stories throughout and Daniel stories staying stories gives me is that he played at Charleston as a defensive end he was a D one talent coming out of high school. But a couple of offers fell through we had to go to prep school as well. So he played on the detour level e-. Add there's university Charleston in West Virginia right with our Charleston. Yeah. Yeah. Not the Charleston in South Carolina chat, really good flexibility, and he played for years in the blue the school sack record out of the water. There's also another. Guy defensive line. John Kaminski it's gonna get drafted ahead of him. So he got a lot of the attention, but Daniels have production plays entire for your career. Peter..

"Learn three, you know, and I'm still learning the four, although as far as body type, those, you know, I had a limited myself that my mind for either the or the four day that. If I am able to my body, it'd be potable enough that I could you know, maybe each each defense work for my body. Whether it'd be down on the insider standing out on the edge. I haven't had any drills that have, you know, pushed me to one or the other. I've kind of heard I've heard talk about playing in both system. So I'm kind of keeping an open mind with that. And you know, whatever team decides to take me, you know, I'm you know, I'm willing to manipulate my body game late lose weight become more flexible, become Sastre, whatever I have to do to fit into that system. Nice. And I just wanted to clarify. I think you you played in the senior bowl and prior to that was at the the NFL PA the collegiate bowl you also participated in. No, I actually declined that. So that I could take another week train. Cool. Did you didn't do the shrine game? Either. No, okay. Like, the both had declined because you know, that was just a good decision in my mind. Take a week to another an additional weeks to train and become ready that. Do have a combining bike invite correct? Okay. What you know coming out of the coming out of the senior bowl. Do you think there's more that you need to prove at the Combi? Oh, yeah. I absolute, you know, I I was kinda limited my reps at the senior bowl. You know? I I have a lot of practice home. And you know, I got maybe twenty reps in the game. But I still don't I, you know, I show I show my hustle. You know, my coach ability and all that. But you know, I still my my goal now is to so that I stand athletically, you know, in the top ten percent and all these drills. So, you know, that's that's the big thing. You know, division to guy kind. You're gonna wanna stand out in little aspects. You know here there such as the combine to of mic and stand out on the top ten percent. Five percent of all my drills run run. A really good forty shuttle. You know, jump five bench a lot, you know. Yeah. I definitely think I have some food because I need to do something to keep my name at the top of that list. You know for doing my draft stock, you know, relative to the other defense events, and they know a lot of guys, you know, they have specific places in people that they. Train with where are you training at this point? Naples, Florida in my trainer is there. He's worked with several NFL guys that have gone. So he's really awesome doing combine specific stuff right now. And then I'm working civically with Sutton Smith who was a defensive end and northern Illinois. He got a latent by the senior Bosa. He came over there with me and then Michael Walker whose receiver punt return kinda guy. So I got to train with me. And then my trainer, Derek is really awesome. So and I'm down here in Florida. So it's it's it's it's really easy to stay motivated. Nice. It's a whole lot warmer there than it is than it is up here in upstate New York. Hey gun. I really do. I pardon me. Sorry about that. My wife up in Ohio. So oh, man. I kind of feel the pain. I this is this is a drink like vacation right now. So. Yeah. I bet she's not too happy with you at the moment. No, see he doesn't want to any of my Snapchat or anything of the trees right now. Oh, hey, I appreciate your your spending some time with me. Good luck to you. If you happen to land with the giants. So hopefully, I'll get a chance to talk with you again. Yeah. Absolutely. Thank you. Okay. Our thanks to John Kaminski for spending some time with us. He's a nice kid seems like a a young man who's come a long long way since his high school days guy, who who has what seems to be a future in the NFL. And we haven't done a profile on Kaminsky yet at big blue view. Most indications seem to be that he's probably a mid round pick. I don't know if he's a guy that that the giants might target or might take if.
