Well, the brilliant onus of the Liberty Bell, Ronnie Vargas and Alex Suazo thes two gentlemen. Ah, book. 170 guests for a wild party. No Mass, no social distancing. And what ended up happening was the word came out to the New York Police Department when they arrived at Pier 36 lower East side. The two owners were arrested for not not following the law. And I hope those guys are still behind bars today. Three days later Now what are they doing? Did the word not reached these two morons yet? "Welcome back John Johnson timer draft coming up they will be prepared I was out doing a story a couple months ago who is Brody Rodney in Brody is from my hometown and Gillard Minnesota and I played in grew up with his father Brian who's who's a great athlete M. Brody pitches for the in the Toronto Blue Jays organization it's always fascinating to hear his backstory here last year was injured and she goes down trains of Florida everybody seems you're there is in the same place and so is working out of the big leaguers and rookie put out everything and Weber grill skin played with your next project star but Brody went on he had a great career at Minnesota state Mankato and the same year that he got drafted he lost his mother to cancer Tiffany and she was she was a wonderful she was just one of those incredibly special people that left an indelible impression everybody that she met because she made people feel better and she just beautiful woman should organize she she was the one that were organized parents get together she was the one that we would play town team ball if you brought a girlfriend back she was the one that made him feel welcome that's who she was that this just feels he everybody say that about Tiffany and shoes and it took her too soon cancer when she was forty nine years old it was it was not a a big funeral it was a huge funeral because she touched many different lives and we're talking you know we just had Shawn Johnson I'm talking about the draft in in never forget that because she had passed on at the end of March in the end and Brody when appears she's next to months or whatever with the was minister of state Medicaid or maybe through a couple of games and counting and I care for guys on Colorado that forget that the draft was that day and I can remember driving through the Rocky Mount and all the sudden I get a tax and looked down image from Brian his father brought his father and it says body just got drafted in the ninth round ever was but to run and I remember looking at the text in the Rocky Mountains and beauty in the sun and all that in just turn up I think in all the dead family have been through and now their son gets drafted into professional baseball and the only thing missing is that mom can't be there to enjoy this does more than she raised along with his brother McCoy as well and I thought god life is kind of strange you know we know she's watching from up above there's no question about that all these things that happened in the previous eight months because she was diagnosed in the summer right before her first son got married right after the wedding in fact he got married on Saturday she got diagnosed on Monday and that was like in August and she was gone by the end of March and then your second son gets drafted into baseball two months later those are things that you you know forget in that year for that family was it was just everything I mean a wedding a kid getting drafted a mom's illness ultimately takes her life in the yeah the people that rallied around on the case to see all that stuff was I'll never forget that because what happened was I've told this story once before but she passed away on Thursday night at home home hospice with double her sons and her husband there and in the middle of the night the corner came and who the new family new will move to the down there and said in summary there and said where do you get a game tomorrow night he says yep finances are are you are you can attach to the gill schedule for US bank stadium notably Minnesota Duluth can any said yes I'm going to pitch nieces are you sure you want to do that are you ready and Brody said I've never been so ready in my life so the next night he goes out these are these are the moments that you never forget he goes out no twenty four hours removed from using this mark and his job is to pitch US bank stadium against Minnesota the upside to social media is people knew about it the word spread quickly and so the people from Minnesota state Mankato knew about it and the people from Gillard knew about it and the people who went three for three from the group knew about it in everybody that could made a concerted effort to go to the game to just to show their support for the family into Gerard Brody when he went out pitch this game but of course I I don't wanna see expectations were low Butch the last thing you really were worried about at that point time was how he would pitch you know how you respond to that you were just hoping that that he could go out there and be competitive enough that that that he felt good the U. giving a good effort you know four months and he did he went out there and he pitched in.

"Final segment John Johnson with you quick FY I I will be with you again this time next week and this coming Sunday from one to five in the afternoon it looks like the that I know for a fact next week as well not only will be with you tended to on Friday night but Sunday afternoon from one to five you know each and every week may be different from what I understand it'll be these two days will be with you for a little while and then we'll see where it goes from there couple of it to bits I wanted to throw in for you before we got out here and handed over to Steve travel lease from the entertainment world and they have to do with the you know due to the coronavirus some changes to movies that were set to be released whether they would be put out straight to on demand or to paid subscriptions so I'm specifically referring to the Marvel movies which over the years I've spoken very proudly of and for those who are in quarantine that just want to check out what it's about but you know you can look up online the order to watch a man I highly suggest you do so some are very good movies I'm not just Hey it's a comic book it's an okay movie they're just wear very well scripted acted just to send a toddler features very good movies in general anyway so the arm Marvel cinematic universe the phase number four if they were about to introduce a with a new wave of movies the next genre of movies was supposed to commence made the first at first we give I pretty sure was made the first with a Black Widow movie this girl starring Scarlett Johannson and do the corona virus in theaters being shut down obviously there was a lot of conversation as to whether he would just be placed on Disney plus the subscription streaming service by Disney as opposed to putting it in theaters which I think is an awesome idea well sadly that's not going to happen instead they have decided to push it back it will be released in November in theaters now so now be basically a Christmas movie for Marvel released in the first or second week of November as it pertains to a couple other other movies while they're pushing them back as well eternal is which was the second movie online after Black Widow which introduces a new genre of characters as the guardians of the galaxy and it has Thor ended in a you know broadens the cinematic universe and with another all star cast I think headlined by Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek and kit Harington that was scheduled to be released in November and is now being pushed back to February so a level ten months from now unfortunately it's going to be pushed back to it every other movie beyond that's being pushed back a couple months so unfortunately the time lines you know just being kicked down the you know the can's been kicked down the road as opposed to releasing it directly to paid subscription service I did however on a good note while you're sitting at home and I if you have kids or even if you just want to check it out in general I I would recommend it one of the movies that was in theaters when this all happened was on word which is the latest Disney Pixar movie and the two star roles are voiced by Chris Pratt and Tom Holland I'm and it's a very yeah it because it was halted from theaters Disney plus today as in Friday put it on their streaming service saw it was in a way I was very thankful I didn't I'd see in theaters because now I get to see it for free were eggs sort of free and before I came in tonight to do the show I sat down my kids I watched it it's about an hour and forty minutes long it's very good it's good I I will say it's very and maybe it's because of the mood that I'm in because from being in quarantine in you know reevaluating life arm I got a little emotional scene watching the movie there some parts that are a little emotion I didn't start crying or anything but there were moments like oh my god it's it's it's you know very heartfelt but I highly recommend it now it's called onward it was placed on the Disney streaming services Disney plus today hi it's now available any time one other note while speaking of Disney plus and Marvel the Disney plus series multiple series that were about to come out in I think two months the falcon winter soldier and that one division show there's been no official word from from Marvel yet as to if they are still going to be released I scheduled for if you know they were in maybe in post production a couple episodes that had to be halted and therefore they have to kind of stop the scenery you know where that postponed the release man of the series until these things can be corrected which is kind of a bummer because of there are many movies right now on television series that have the going home even ones that were you know just in the editing phase and just final preparations before being in L. for setting up a befall or even summer lineup so it's unfortunate so that's kind of the latest news that I have in terms of that well it was it was great spending last couple hours with you I hope I gave you a distraction if only for a.

"Wherever you enjoy your podcasts so greg we were just talking before we get to John Johnson. The third I don't know if he's there or not but we were just talking about the the sixers ownership Laura. I didn't hear you there okay. Great thanks just so we were talking about the sixers ownership. If you didn't hear the last segment sixers owner. Josh Harris was the principal owner was going to cut salaries of full time employees including coaches. But anyone that starts it over fifty thousand dollars which I thought was crazy because if you make fifty thousand dollars and you have to give away. Give back ten thousand. That's a huge chunk of change. So that was his plan so he wanted to. Because of the pandemic he wanted to cut salaries of all full time employees making fifty thousand or more by twenty percent and woge put out a tweet as I mentioned earlier saying that other teams who may be considering what the sixers are doing are looking at the pr of it and going. Oh that might not be worth it. We don't want our net worth being out there at this point like that. That's just not good business. That's we went to break. We read that tweet right. Wards has just tweeted one minute ago seventy sixers ownership is planning to change course pulling back on salary reductions for Staff League sources tell. Espn shamed shamed them into doing it. Nicely done good good job loge and the Internet because the Internet did it do like it was just like come on man like what are you doing? You know they say. The Internet is undefeated for a reason. Because that's why the power of social media the power of it. It's just it's how the world works now and if you look bad on twitter you look bad. Yeah man like for real won't because what ends up happening is look I told you I don't think twitter is the end all be all only thirty percent of the country's on it over goofy stuff but this is the type of stuff that a news organization was going to pick up. You know what I'm saying like this is going to become news. And that's when twitter is a powerful thing when it becomes mainstream news. Not just something that happens in the silo of the thirteen percent of America. That's on twitter right. Yeah but the fact that is a matter is it worked this time for sure. The other owners had to have gone to them. Maybe it wasn't all on twitter. Maybe it was somebody actually calling them and they said you know what? This is a bad call. Yeah well here's the other tweet by woge and we'll talk to John Johnson. The third here in just a second of the Rams sixers ownership statement to ESPN after listening to our staff and players. It's clear it was the wrong decision we reversed and we'll be paying these employees their full salary. Of course you should. You're the Philadelphia Seventy sixers. You're worth your owners worth four billion dollars. You can't be cutting people's salaries by twenty percent when they for the people that make fifty grand in your on your staff and that we're building that's crazy so I'm glad that the whatever happened on twitter or them listening to their employees worked so good for them good for the people who who told them that they should stop doing such silliness. That people need to get paid right now. You know it's unprecedented times. Let's talk speaking of unprecedented times We were GonNA talk to John. Johnson the third. The rams got a new logo. We're dealing with unprecedented times. The NFL calendar is is been altered. A little bit. We'll talk to John about a number of things but John First of all thank you for joining us. Mit How you doing during all of this how you feel it. Thanks for having me all honestly. I don't even know I'm putting on. I don't know that's a good thing. I'm just trying to stay indoors. Eat healthy workout and just keep my mind on the right path like it's not happening but we have to be aware that you know stuff happening in the future being known as a little to me how Ya doing. We're doing okay man. Same as you were all trying to get through this and get through it together. You know what I mean. It's obviously a little strange but this is the way I look at it. John People who are our grandparents or older age you know they were going to war to sacrifice for the world in the country and the betterment of the country. We're asked to be to stay home and occasionally we can go out for a jog. You know what I mean if you put it in that perspective. I think we'll be okay. You know absolutely man. That's a good way to put it now that I think about it. Let's stick together like you said and then you know you can get through this time so like you say. Let's just all listen and do the right thing and we'll get through like you listened to the medical experts would let them kind of deal with it and we follow their lead. Now let me ask you this. You say you've been putting on weight now. I know you're trying to eat healthy is there? Is there a way to keep your workout going at home like? Are you trying to figure that out still now? I'm pretty much so I'm coming up with a shoulder injury. So okay actually allowed. You know. I'm actually allowed to get my rehab so I'm one of the lucky ones but I do have teammates that are in their garage trying to get it in or running so luckily I got a place to work out. But you know it's tough out here for all players across the league. Yeah no doubt and of course you guys. The Rams are doing a great thing. You're teaming up with ABC seven and US here at ESPN at seven. Ten with the virtual telethon and again guys. It's going on so six thirty today. The event benefits the United Way of Greater Los Angeles as Pandemic Relief Fund and of course the La Regional Food Bank. Look any donation helps..

Jalen Ramsey's troubled Jaguars tenure ends with blockbuster trade to Rams
"Terms of Jalen Ramsey will talk about this he finally got what he wanted the end result the disgruntled corner headed to the Los Angeles Rams the Jaguars finally relented and Ramsey to the west coast for first round draft picks two of the one in twenty twenty one in two thousand twenty one also a fourth rounder in the two thousand twenty one draft here's a statement for Jaguars executive VP. Tom Coughlin given the situation with Jalen we made this decision based on what we thought is in the best interest of the Jacksonville Jaguars for this season and well into the future we feel the trade that we struck with the rams gives us great value for the next two drafts and remain confident that our team today will compete this season for a division title Jalen Wasser Productive Flair but the time came to move on and we wish him and his family the best in Los A- Angela here's head coach Doug marrone obviously I had a good relationship with him and we were working together to get them healthy on the field and that that's what my focus was so he can get on the field and help us you know win football games and now you know how concentrating on on the players gotta here and and getting our guys focused on on on Cincinnati I think in his league nothing ever really surprises me anymore you know especially from the business side of things I found out like everybody else did last night you know lately point Dave came in and told me Rams reporter Lindsey theory joins us from L. A. and Lindsey listen there's been a lot of coming and going and all Ryder roster changes what's the general reaction to all of the news from the rams this week Wendy for a team that's three and three and in the mid of a three game losing streak certainly renewed buzz and energy at the team facility this morning now I am told the Jalen Ramsey is in route to Los Angeles and he's expected here later this afternoon or the rams do expect that he will pass his physical and I am told that he could be on the field for them as soon as Sunday against the Falcons now this would be viewed as a move where the rams are going all in once again to try to make a repeat super bowl run but I am told the Rams really believe that this is a move for their long-term future keep to leave and Marcus Peters or playing the season on expiring contracts Ramsey has another season left and the rams do intend to sign him to a long term engine now as you mentioned he's not the only new face here at the facility today Kenny Young Austin Corbett also were here they have passed their physicals though remains to be seen if they will be at practice later this afternoon and one more note Wendy Safety John Johnson is headed to injured reserve because of shoulder injury. Lindsey thank you it was a rare blockbuster trade a few weeks now before the trading deadline Ramsey joined a small handful of veteran players traded for multiple first round picks in the last third two years or so Khalil Mack and Jay Cutler garnered big offers from the bears the dolphins move two first rounders for Ricky Williams and it too big halls to get Herschel Walker an Eric Dickerson listen we can go back to the jags but since June Ramsey is moving onto the rams let's start with what he means for the La Rams Right now we'll Wade Phillips now gets a play defense the way he wants to Wakefield's really wants to play in your face on the line of scrimmage with the defensive line pressure and then in your face on the live with men cover corners. He hasn't been able to do that to be honest with you with Marcus Peters Marcus Peters is not not played good man to man coverage needs a better zone corner so now wade having Jalen gets the opportunity to get back to Colin defense the way he wants to do it I'll be really interested to see if they use Jalen the way we want I bill belichick thrill reverse where you put him on the team's best number two receiver and then everybody else gets to get double teams opposing for the opposing offense but it makes their defense significantly best Champ Bailey the dion sanders I mean the great quarters you can do that lock him up and then roll the other side I think you'll see that the other thing that was curious for me was that Tom Coughlin mentioned that Jaguars were better this year and going forward I think maybe either that was miss written or because they're not speak they're not better by getting a great player out of there so I miss quotes tim so expe- Joe Joe Listen you were you were spot on Jalen Ramsey never changed his stance which is what you asserted from the get-go and I would assume just finally came to a point where it just made no sense to have him on a roster when he wasn't going to win this transaction happened yesterday the first thing came to my mind is how often the people I was always talking to that this was going to work out for Jalen Ramsey like there was no fretting I didn't hear any fear and now that this is resolved itself in the way that it has it kind of plays into the tone that I've been hearing all along now I was talking to a source obviously familiar with Jalen Ramsey. They said that he's excited considering this a fresh start to be with the rams I think one of the questions that I had in talking to ram source last night was why not hold onto Marcus Peters to have opposite Jalen Ramsey in terms of making this movie now one thing that the ram source said to me is that it looked like it was clear that less need did not want to pay marcus. Peters beyond this year he's eligible unrestrained the free agency next year and it was better just to rip off quote unquote the band-aid now so then it becomes well who is opposite Jalen Ramsey for this game against the Atlanta Falcons they mentioned that two thousand seventeen when cal Roby Coleman I came to the teen that he did fill in for a keep to Leon outside first and second down and then on Nichols would have him excuse me on third down having a nickel or sometimes have troy hill on the outside and then have an RC in the middle so expect something like that or combination of that against the Falcons either way Julio Jones saw the rams problems in the short turn no because the opposite of the ball is atrocious right now and that's been there issue as far as being a front now what I will say is it does play into them getting better though like we can focus on golfing what this offense has been doing but with the guy like Jalen Ramsey not only does he hell Aaron Donald give him a maybe a half a second more to get to the quarterback he also may be able to steal a possession to for you and this ninety four was out there so air down gets another piece on the back end that can help him hold off quarterbacks for a second for him to get there and that's that's really all I can think about so maybe you

"Hello there. Welcome back to state media. Concepts relationships podcast, I'm John Johnson talking about rejection. So I mentioned how this whole thing started, you know, as kids, we are brought into the world are need to being met. And we are told how important we are cuddled, we're loved, we're giving the center of attention. And then as we get out there into the world we start running into circumstances in which we don't have any control over. We interact with other people, and we bump up against their needs and their wishes and their desires, and they don't necessarily match with hours. Sometimes there's negotiations that go on, and it works. We can find some common ground. We go forward from there other times there is just complete. No. There's nothing that works. And when you're on the receiving end of the no. There is obviously a reaction, just as, if on the other side of that, when you are accepted, you feel elated, but when the reaction is or the response to you is no, that's a negative response. Then there's the gut check. It's like okay where where do you go from here? You basically you don't get to go off into the sunset with your friend, because they've said, no, you basically have to do a one eighty and go back where you came from, and that's not something that we're all used to experiencing and there was the awkwardness of when you grow up the adolescence people form groups. And if you're not a part of that group, and you're trying to become a part of that group. Then you get rejected not my one person, but by several and that can be devastating to you emotionally. And if you haven't learned a way to deal with what that whole thing is about, whether you fit into that group or you find another. Group of people that you could fit into when you are moving along, as a as an individual vessel. I mean, it takes years and years of growth and experience a learning, and experimenting trial and error to be able to get this into a way that actually serves you because remember when we start out, we start out with the idea that the world centered. Around us, we are the center, and then when we get out there and start dealing with other people other people have the same concept that we have they think the world is centered around them and these things collide all over the place. Sometimes it works, and we find common ground. But when it doesn't, and it hurts, it hurts a lot of different ways, especially when we start talking about relationships, and we want to really be with someone and they don't want us. Sometimes it happens very early, and you don't get into the history of something that you may have had with them. Let's take a relationship that's been together for a while. And then it then it ceases to work, there's a rejection on that level I haven't talked about that yet. But that, that hurts a great deal. Because four while the agreements were in place, and he redoing things together things that matter. And then there comes a point in time when it's not working and you split. Now in many, many cases I've talked about communication, and how to keep things going forward. But right now, I'm talking about facing rejection facing that idea that this is no longer going to work. And how do you hold yourself together during that period of time? Because if you used to relying on that idea about how important you are now you're feeling rejected you really come face to face with how important you are not. And the things that people do in these moments, some of them are very destructive. Some people turned to drugs, some people turn to alcohol some people turn to behaviors and things to help dull the pain.

"Concept's relationships podcast. I'm your host, John Johnson, and I've entitled this podcast no deal. So here's what I'm talking about. If you've had a situation which you've been dating somebody for a while or let's say, dated several someone's over period of time, and then you've kind of decided that you chose someone that you're really interested in. So you're kind of doing the one on one thing or at least your intent, and the person that you who've has been the object of your fiction has kind of decided they wanted to date someone else. But they said, well, I value your friendship now for some people that seems like, okay, Alrighty. What am I going to do with the situation? Am I going to stay in that orbit and hope that they fall out of favor with this other person falls out of favor, or am I just going to pack up my bags and go elsewhere? And now here's my opinion, but in a situation like that, I know I have generally. Spoken to the direction of it's nice to have friends, but understand how you are going to feel about that. If you are still in a place where you were trying to be involved with this individual and some sort of intimate way this person is just giving you the signal that that's not gonna happen because somebody else has that status. And because of that, it would not really be reasonable for you to assume that you're going to get to date this person at least not in time in the near future. So being relegated to the friendship thing at there has been lots of conversations about that, whether you should take that position me as a guy, I think I'm going to say no deal because if I'm looking to be the person who was priority, then that's what I want, and anything less than that is not going to fit what I'm looking for and staying in contact with individuals that you have dated. I'm not saying that there's anything bad or inherently wrong with that. For a lot of people that could be very easy thing for them to do. But I'm saying to you, you have to understand emotionally where you are with that process. If this is something that's gonna cause you some angst, then it's very reasonable to say, hey, you know what? Thank you for that predate that you've given me that information, but I need to move on because I'm looking for different kind of relationship. There are lots of people who are looking to say, be friends with lots of people, and you know, in a dating relationship, generally, I figured that it's, you're looking for someone to be more intimate with more close someone to share your thoughts, your feelings do things with have that relationship status. That means when you call that they will reasonably respond. And when they don't respond, then you know, hey, something's up. I gotta figure this part out. See friends tend to do things when it's convenient. When you have a relationship with someone, then you do things whether it's convene. You're not, but it's because there's an emotional attachment and you're building on that. So if you've just spoken with someone who's decided that they wanted to make someone else a priority and that is not obviously going to be you then what are you waiting for? What are you holding out for your hat? You're in a position where you're packing your emotions and saving.
"john johnson" Discussed on GSMC Relationship Podcast
"And we're back this is Golden State media concepts, relationships podcast. I'm your host, John Johnson, and this podcast I'm talking about connections in this segment. I've been talking about how to rebuild a connection after it sort of fractured in giving some tips and how to talk to someone if you've been hurt by something they said and understanding that it's not always easy, but it could be worth. So picking up where left off when you learn to be a good listener, that helps. That's something that a lot of people don't do. And when they start out with the best of intentions of trying to clear up a misunderstanding, but when they don't have the skills to be a good listener, then as a person who has caused the infraction, you wanna feel like when you give an apology that it's being accepted. So I think you as a hurt person learned to be gracious. Learn to accept policy because we're both trying to extend an olive branch here. And that's the point where I'm saying, look, we're, we're both on the same side. We're trying to get something better to happen. And when you practice that and it, it could be with a friend. It could be with a sibling. It could be, and it doesn't, whether it's man or woman women or men, it's lovers, whatever. These are good techniques. This helps with a connection and you don't wanna get stuck in the place of people just digging in their heels and creating a fight. So that's why say keep it one on one, keep the conversation, tight, meaning stick to the subject. Don't get into too many things because when you do that, then it just gets hard to follow. Now there's a flip side to this, and that's to say, if you're the person who has say, said something to someone in, you need to apologize for, I think we all been there. In the important thing here is taking ownership of what you said so that you really want to feel like you're going to do something about the problem, and it's taking it to that individual and saying, hey, I need to apologize for something, but all those other techniques I mentioned before apply, keep keep it one on one, they'll get a lot of people involved in it because it doesn't really require that be a good listener. Because obviously, if you've hurt somebody's feelings, they're going to want an opportunity to share that and respect the idea that you both of you are being vulnerable and you give that space. Honor that in both of you one or both of you may not be very skilled at this, so it may come off as a bit awkward a bit clunky. You know, it's not something that people do very well in high of made the comment about practicing it at. And when I say practice, I mean putting it into use. As in, I'm going to try this in. It may not work very well the first time through, but as we get more and more into this, we will get better at it as we go along. Understand that in human relationships. We don't always agree. There's going to be breakdowns in communication. We're going to be upset about something and when we do, we may not say things in a way that's very nice or it may just be flat wrong. What we do own up to it is the best way to start this and be willing to apologize going to the person asking for their time saying why you want it. I don't believe in ambushing anyone because that sets up because people have their own feelings and when they think they're being set up for something that they're gonna be ambushed. Remember, we're all vulnerable to something. We don't necessarily know what happened in other people's lives that this could be feeding into an old hurt. When you realize that about somebody, sometimes that could explain a reaction that you didn't predict say, you may have said something to someone and it just didn't land very well. And you feel like you need to apologize. You may find that out because the other person may have some insight. They may be willing to be vulnerable enough to explore that with you in the conversation. But short of that, we don't maybe in this connection, you're the one with the communication skills. So you're gonna. You're taking a lot on and expect that you're taking the lot on but be willing to do that..
