Michigan certifies vote count despite Trump campaign's objections
"Biden's win in Michigan has been certified. President Donald Trump's hopes of delaying certification of Democrat Joe Biden's win in Michigan in the November 3rd election have been dashed. The Michigan Board of State Canvassers voted 30 with one abstention Monday to certify Biden's 154,000 vote victory. Biden thus claims all 16 electoral votes from the state of Michigan. Allies of Trump and Republican John James, who lost his bid for U. S Senate seat had called for the board to delay certification for two weeks to allow for an audit of votes in heavily Democratic Wayne County, which is home to Detroit, Biden routed Trump in Wayne County by more than 330,000 votes.

Today, I will continue to stand up for Republicans and demand that they be respected. And I will demand a meaningful review of the votes for the people of Michigan. Yeah. Laura Cox. The process did not have to certify the vote today could in effect, take time to take a look at some of the suspect irregularities. In order Mr Vice Chairman in order to make your argument you had to ignore what I just read to you the language of the statute and add some language based upon the result of the returns. You added that language that's not in the statute. I suggest that you have the ability to ascertain and determine the results of the election, and that's consistent with the provision giving you the right to abstain. And take the time to take for any necessary actions to help you determine that so? That you can't There would be no reason to have that provision for extra time if you were just a rubber stamp. Again. There is nothing in the law that says we have the authority to do the things you've requested. Correct. I respectfully disagree. I just read you the section that says your job is to ascertain and determine the results of an election. There is nothing that restricts your ability to do that. Well, actually, it does where you shall canvass the return and determine the results of the election. Okay, election based on those returns. There's nothing else in law, and I mean we can agree to disagree, but I think the law is on my side here. Our duty is very people and it's a duty. We have no authority to request an audit to delay your black certification. Review inaccuracy that happened Azua local level, Those results have been certified. "Can't John Jay is protested and may God Roland today? Am I right? Well, he can he can do whatever he feels is appropriate. In this particular situation if he wants to mount some kind of legal challenge with regard to the count if he wants to join, perhaps some kind of class action that may be in the offing. If he wants to support the president's effort with regard to what happened here in the state of Michigan. He could do that. I'm not exactly sure what his legal options are, because I'm not an attorney. But Mr James does have options even though you do have in our state of the talk of a judge that is ah, planning to deny the Trump administration's request. To stall the Michigan ballot count. I mean, that's not the on ly play they have, and we'll see if in effect, they come up with another strategy and and and I'm going to say this. Assn. Ices it would be tohave. The Michigan votes recounted. Michigan is not an end, albeit all state. It would be great if the president could win it. It would be great. If John James had been able to continue to carry the day with a numeric count turning out the way it did. He was not. Does that mean that the election was stolen from him? I can't say at this particular point in time, but if he wants to if he wants to argue the point And if he wants to put his money where his mouth is, he is perfectly allowed to do that. Angela, is that it? Well, gay peaches and he kind of ER where he said he lost twice, but get a piercing win by a landslide. You run by a couple points. Yeah, well, and that's the point well, and that it's a good observation on your part. I mean, let's face it. This is a guy who goes along to get along who hides in plain sight. Who's not all that productive as a senator in the United States Senate? Hey, may get a bill passed, maybe once a term. Maybe. But there he is hiding in plain sight as though he has the best interest of Michiganders at heart. When really all he cares about is his own re election bid, And I'm just sorry that at this point in time Even Mohr Michiganders couldn't see it that way, although it was a pretty close race up to a certain point in time, where it looked like John James would blow it out. And carry the day. We'll just have to keep our eyes on it for future development. Angela. Thanks so much for your call. Let's take Let's see one more call before we hit the brake. Out to the phones. We go toe Warren where Michael is listening to the programme. Michael, Thanks for your call. Ah, you them J really? How you doing? I've blessed you. Okay. Thank you Gone, and even Tiffany and whatever. And thank you for taking my call. You're welcome. I got some news for everybody. Well, first of all, I think Michigan's race was totally a fraud because President Trump announced at 2 P.m. two A. M in the morning of the election day or the day after. That there will be a mass drop it for Yemen. There. Wass and the state of Michigan dropped 138,000 balance. It all went by. If I was John James. I would definitely put a recall in and from what I understand. There are certain marks on these feelings where they know whether or not they're fraudulent or not. And the whole situation with everything that's going on with the news and whatever it is, they're not going to give Trump victory until the deep state says so well, the bottom line is the president is going to find on until it is untenable to do so. There are some people who are closer to the president and his inside fight who say that they expect President to prevail and we're going to talk about some of the numbers. That might make it. Look that way. Is it possible for the president still win this election? Just based on the vote count? Yeah, it is. Folks is quiet as it's being kept, and we'll talk more about it. In the moments ahead. Thank you so very much. M. J for your call to the program. Today we'll address this issue and others as we move forward on the John MacCulloch show 809 239385. "Commitment to basic fairness and due process. I have full faith that we will similarly meet this moment. And I will do everything within my power to ensure that the results are fair and that every vote is counted. So that's the governor of Pennsylvania, issuing that statement on the same day that Rudy Giuliani step before microphones and said there is widespread voter fraud going on in a lot of locations in Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, they're concerned about Michigan. They've already filed a lawsuit there. We've learning this morning again. I lost. It's been filed in Georgia. Yeah, theywant to recount in Wisconsin because they say the votes are so close. Here's what's going on in Michigan. John James running for Senate He's a Republican in Michigan. They're they're very concerned there. Apparently 35,000 votes were just dropped off of the TCF Center. That's where they are counting in Detroit. And the Republicans were not allowed. Tio view any of this. Observe any of this. This is exactly what Rudy Giuliani is saying, has been taking place in Philadelphia that Republicans have not been allowed to observe the counting of these mail in ballots that have been dropped off in the middle of the night, right, And they're supposed to be able to three o'clock in the morning, all of a sudden 100,000 ballots showed up in Philadelphia. In the middle of the night, and Republicans weren't allowed to view it right? And Giuliani said Wait a second here. What? What's going on? The challenge they face. You're Christina's. Do they have evidence? Do they have proof? Well, they have to have proof. I mean, you can't Unless you can prove there are shenanigans afoot. I mean, there's there's nothing to say that I mean, they have to be able to have proof. 3:30 A.m.. This is in Detroit. 35,000 ballots were deceptively brought in. This is, according to official with James's campaign, They're not letting challengers in there, not letting them get food or water. Nobody can. There are a lot of irregularities and lack of integrity and this is going on, not just in two locations, according to the Republicans. This is going to be part of the lawsuit. Well, and we knew this was coming. We knew that we knew that lawsuit would be filed. We knew that both campaigns were getting legal team's ready while Trump had warned a long time ago when you start these mail in ballots like this, and you just start sending out ballots, you are opening up. Up the opportunity for corruption. There is no transparency in the system. Inherently, so that's the that's the crux of the lawsuits that were going to see and and and believe me. There's going to be a lawsuit filed in Arizona, right and Nevada. They're not going to stop in just those three located. It's too close. They need to know. Okay, let's get you caught up in this hour's top national.

And then every postmark is going to get challenged. And the rules that Pennsylvania past are that if the post tomorrow Is not there. More. It's fuzzy. It's cloudy. It can't be right. And if that's the case It is assumed. That it was postmarked correctly. There was there not So that tells me you can do whatever you want to the balance, and they are in a position right now in Pennsylvania. To build up those belts. Let me know what you think, particularly with regard to what you've just seen happen here. In the great state of Michigan with regard to the Trump Pants ticket and the John James candidacy in particular. Let's say hello to Bruce listening to the programme in Grosse Pointe. Thanks for calling and Darryl Hey, Darryl. Thanks for taking my call. You know, I'm not normally one gift into Ah, conspiracy theories or anything like that. But yesterday, my wife and I went down to our polling place which we've gone Tio every Elections since 2000. And we noticed that they were using markers instead of pen. Yes, yes. Fill out the ballots. Now. I thought that was a little strange because they'd always used uh, pens. But There were apparently Margaret's and all of the voting booth and my wife noticed that too, because she went around to several trying to find a pen and I'll get fine with the market and so I went ahead and filled out a straight party figure. And then I noticed when I turned over the ballot vote from a nonpartisan things about that, is that the fluid the ink in the in the sharpies had bled through to the other side. They employed all the way through. But you could. You could tell that there were very few marks. And Mike and I was concerned because there were other circles that you had to fill in for judges and school board in village and all that sort of thing. Unfortunately, Darryl they didn't They didn't cover any of those circles. But I nearly didn't really didn't think of it, You know, because The ballot went through fine and all that type of thing, but I'm just wondering If it uh if these if our votes actually work tabulated correctly, and the reason I'm saying that is because I listen to Charlie Kirk this afternoon before Prager show any mention that they had the same issue. In Arizona, which, as you know, is called way too early that last night, and that was one of the problems I had with the coverage. And apparently Darryl. It's illegal to use anything other than an ink pen. Teo Mark a ballot in In Arizona. So I have some questions there now. I like I said, I'm not given to conspiracy theories or paranoia and that that may have been perfectly okay. But I find it a little strange that after all these years, Darrel That they switched to markers. Magic markers, sharpies. We're going on a column when they've been using these one of the many of you have been using black, you know, black ink pens to mark your your ballots Well, and I'm just wondering if anybody else Encountered something like that at their polling places. Well, Bruce, the answer to your question is, yes. Thank you very much for your call to the program. I have of the testimonies of no fewer than three people who expressed trepidation over the exact same issue from three different states. Starting with Arizona were Elgon cast his vote. He is a long time voter in Arizona. After 40 years ofthe, registered voting, he arrived at the pole to find a very strange situation. They put my temple in the computer computer, and my info came up my address. Everything was good. I proved that I lived there till I was they printed my ballot. Then they hand me a Sharpie, which I thought was kind of weird because I've been voting for almost 40 years now. I've never seen a Sharpie always have the other type of pen, so I went ahead and did it. But I noticed it was soaking to to the other side of the ballot, and I thought, well, that goes through a machine to be read. There's going to be a problem. Possibly with that. So then I just followed through. Two days later, I went online to Check my status of my ballot and I put in my info and it said that I wasn't registered. I've always been registered. I've never not voted. I've always been registered. So there's two funky things right there, like kind of just disappeared from the system. I thought, Well, maybe had me under some old address. I kept putting an old addresses that could not find any proof. My ballot was red. Yeah, so there's a strange situation. Number one hears Strange situation Number two with Eldon. So what? So you? Did you even get your ballot callin? I mean, what was the process? What was the endgame for you? Did you do a provisional ballot? What happened? Well, I went down to one of the polling places and it was early early ballot place, so they actually took my info printed the ballot out. They gave me an envelope to put the ballot in two but also had my name and I had to sign it, which I thought was strange. So now my name is attached to my candidate, which seems a little odd, But then they had me put it into this box. As I left. They had him put it in a box with his name on it, identifying him with the candidate and the issues that he supports. Jordan, secular was part of the brain trust of the American set of her law and justice. They are contemplating starting a class action with regard to what people have experienced with regard to Sharpie voting. And I was, I think, a provisional box, so did you. Ultimately your ballot was filed with the Sharpie that they gave you. Yeah, and now they're trying to throw out your vote Elgon, So we're going to get your contact info because that's what they're trying to do is to say that that's illegal..
Democrats are now unlikely to win a majority in the Senate: Here's where things stand
"Republicans are enjoying a much better election than anticipated. Republicans are now poised to maintain their majority in the Senate. I just received a very gracious call from Sara Gideon conceding the raise voice of Republican Senator Susan Collins, speaking earlier today in Maine, a state that Democrats had considered a must win to have a chance at flipping the Senate. No. In the House Republicans are expected to pick up seats shrinking the Democrats majority down to single digits for more on this NPR congressional correspondent Susan Davis is here. Hey there, Sue what went wrong, so to speak for Democrats? Yeah, I mean, it's been a complete reversal of fortune for Republicans down the ballot. There had been this widespread confidence that Democrats were going to take over the Senate that they could gain as many as six or seven seats. And that Democrats were poised to grow their majority in the House by as many as 10 to 20 seats. Obviously, not if that happened. I think the one thing everyone is pointing to right now is just how wrong the Poles were. I think in that main Senate race that's a great example. The Democrats Sara Gideon, she led in public polls all year long and yet still fell far behind in the race. I talked to election analyst Sean Trendy this morning, and he told me that polling simply did not account for Trump's support that a significant number of Trump voters just were never accounted for. Those are the exact people that when you hear a phone call in the person says Hi, I'm from the New York Times. Would you take it all? Just go click. I think it is that straightforward. I also talked to Democratic Congressman Ami Bera of California today, and he said that the polling was way off from where it was in the 2018 midterms. And that's when Democrats won. He basically told me he just thinks Democrats couldn't account for the effect that Trump has when he himself is on the ballot. While it looks like Republicans will hold their majority in the Senate, Not all races have been called. Can you tell us what still outstanding? Yeah, There's still five races that haven't been called 47 have been called for Democrats 48 for Republicans won were watching really closely Is Michigan. There's a Democratic incumbent there. Gary Peters. He's running narrowly behind a Republican John James. Obviously, what could be a pickup opportunity for Republicans. North Carolina remains really tight, but incumbent Republican Senator Tom Tillis is leading. You know, that was always seen as a state that was critical to the majority. So if Republicans hold it, I think that's one of the reasons why they seem to feel pretty secure. Right now. Alaska hasn't been called, but I don't really see any reason there to think it's going to be a Democratic pick up and Last one's Georgia. There's two Senate races there. One of them is going to go to a January runoff, and it's quite possible. The other one where it's held by incumbent Republican David per two, might be able to hold it off and win it out, right. Given that there are some races that are going to be uncertain, at least for the next few days does that What does that mean for the Senate majority? It does, and you know, depending on how Georgia goes, it could take quite some time. North Carolina in particular, could be tight and could be subject to court challenge. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell spoke to that reality earlier today in Kentucky. You can anticipate in close elections, Both sides will be lawyered up and we'll end up in court. It's happened over and over and over again. Nothing unusual, and I do want to see her. I think McConnell has a point, and it's worth focusing on that. I think a lot of people are really nervous about what's gonna be happening with Balan challenges. It's really not uncommon, especially in Senate races to go through court challenges. Before they're certified. It happens almost every election year. That's NPR congressional correspondent Susan Davis. Thank you. You're welcome.

"Talk 7 60. W. J. R. I'm just running across the story for the first time. I don't know how I did not see it earlier this week. Our producer Chris Ren works on the line. Way Had John James on this week. We get we get Teo find Gary Peters Senator Gary Peters. Chris, I don't know if you saw the story today, but, uh It's it's out there. Apparently, he told the story several days ago to Elle magazine for one About and he's the first U. S senator to do this talking about how he and his first wife, his ex wife, she had an abortion because her life was at risk when her water broke just four months into a pregnancy that they desperately wanted. And so she had an abortion. At the time he becomes the first U. S. Senator to Ah to reveal a personal abortion story like that, And he said, Look, people faced this kind of tough decision every day in America, and that's something that we faced. But he said my wife's Life was in danger because her water broke so early like that at four weeks, and he said, We really had no choice and the doctor told them to. Ah, hey, didn't want to do it, he said. He finally said, Look, she could use lose her uterus, and if she becomes septic, she could die. That's what he told her, so they felt they had no choice And that's one of those situations that we hear about, but not often not because We assume that every abortion is one of choice and convenience for the for the future parents and not necessarily a life or death situation, But it sounds as if With the ex wife of Gary Peters. It wasn't life or death situation and that you put yourself it's appearance in that situation, Christian and you know, what do you do when when your your wife is there, and she's at risk of losing her life, if if the pregnancy is not ended because of AH, problem with it. And that's the kind of medical examiner and scary hold so much. Yes, exactly. Exactly, And so I would think nobody will hold that against him. Although you know, in the middle of a campaign like this for this story to suddenly pop up, it's almost inevitable that it's going to be brought up in the rest of the campaign, right? Sure, I would think so. Yeah. I mean, you're only what a couple weeks out here, so Yeah, I would think so very much. All right, let's get let's get some calls in here and talk about this and a whole lot more. Colleen and Garden City is first up this time around. Hello, Colleen. Right. How are you? I'm very very well, Thank you for the call that I saw. Commercial where Gary Peters talked about his wife's abortion. I just thought it was kind of a really personal item to be putting out there for everybody. But the other thing is None of our news stations. 247 have said anything about under Biden and his dad. Well, not well, I don't know how they I don't know how you avoided, especially after what Rudy Giuliani said on our show this morning. Just a flat out. He's a crook. I know. I know he is They both are. They all are, anyway. The democrats, but, um, yeah, none of the news stations. They're even talking about it. They don't even have it on their website. Dr Brothers. They're not even gonna mention that is that's that's sad that they don't think that's that's worthy of discussion because you know that that's the kind of Ah it's. It's a kind of I don't want to see it a gallon here, but is it would be illegal? If if all these allegations are true, But it's just so distasteful and dishonest. You know that. At its core. That's all if the allegations are true, while they have proven and trail, But if you don't show what nobody's going to know it calling if I could be personal here, what is your stance on abortion? I don't think it should be. Legal. I mean, I understand. Like Gary Peters. You know if it's medically needed, then by all means, Do what But not just for you know the head of the To get pregnant. You're bored. That's not right. All right. Appreciate it calling. So if a life is at risk you you believe that it would be okay to Ah, have that abortion if the mother's life is at risk. Ah, And there are a lot of people share that point of view. Coming. Appreciate the call. Thanks so much. Let's go to Canton right now. Jane on the Frank Beckmann Show Europe Next. Hello, Jane. Hi. Uh, I'm anyway. You want my coming on abortion? Whatever you want to talk about Jay, what? You're speaking of someone who gave a baby up for adoption so beautiful and you're talking to someone who adopted a baby. Ah, And so you know what? We adopted a baby after we lost one. That's Sze story there. I have My mind went blank. And then I have a cousin who she's 70 78. Her mother had an appointment to have an abortion to board her. And she didn't go to. It was for health reasons, but she changed her mind and then have the abortion. And now my cousin is 78 well. Anyway, I called and forever and forever grateful about that. Does she talk about it? Well, she told me that her sister told her has told her that story because she didn't know about it. You know, she talks about it now. It's it's a It's a difficult situation. And for people who have never been through it. You cannot imagine the emotional distress. Maybe you can't imagine it. But it is. I just tell you for for the families, it is so absolutely horrible. Teo to go through something like that losing losing a child due to some unforeseen circumstance, and, you know, eventually it's called abortion. But it's to save the life of the mother in these cases, and any doctor will perform that procedure basically. I have a sister in law who had to carry her. Dead baby till it was came out. Naturally, My goodness. And so that was really heartbreaking for her. I'll sure hand tohave it to have the baby. Then be stillborn. Had to be just absolutely horrible. See, we won't think we went through that my wife and I went through that she was expecting a baby and and had some issues and and the baby was basically dying in the warm and Okay. You know, you had a choice to make right there. Exactly..

"GONNA be alright. Grant homos a pleasure to carpet evergreen say thank you out. I time for some political notes I up campaign dynamics. Senator Gary. Peters picked up the endorsement on Sunday of the Detroit free press which said of him senator Gary Peters, who succeeded Senator Levin when he retired six years ago has been a worthy heir to Michigan's remarkable legacy of bipartisan leadership. Peters has achieved his first term than many senators accomplished in their careers and we enthusiastically support his reelection in November's general election. It has been a really nasty campaign between the two of them. The Detroit News has done some excellent reporting fact checking both candidates. Actually, it will have links on our website to those stories because they really lay out the case for both candidates very well the polls consistently show Gary Peters with a small, but very consistent lead in the four to six point range. The most recent poll in the Senate race was for CNBC and change research that came out to last Wednesday drove Gary Peters up by six points, and there have been multiple polls in the last couple of weeks. All of them were in that range and as we talk with Bernie porn last week, there is still a. High undecided. But they undecided looks like it's GonNa break for Gary. Peters about two one. Even a marketing resource group had a poll which came out less Tuesday which showed peters up by to marketing. Resource Group is Republican consulting firm and probably the most favourable to James meanwhile Mr James has finally broken his silence on something sort of he finally came out with the statement that he supported the idea of president trump making a nomination to the United States, Supreme Court, and the Senate acting on it, but he wouldn't say whether or not. He'd vote in favor of Emmy conybeare. It's nomination to the Supreme Court, which is really typical of his campaign is really not said something specific much of anything. Add to that an investigation by the Detroit news again that found that James Claim of creating a hundred jobs in Michigan with his company. Maybe a lot of Baloney the numbers are very mixed as a privately held company, but it looks very much like in fact, John James if anything lost jobs net on a net basis in the state of Michigan. So as biggest claim to fame really may not be much of a claim at all what he did there was. He reported well, we hired this many people but never bothered to include the context around it in terms of how many people he lost. So those he didn't report job creation he reported you know headcounts on the payroll as what he reported, and so you see you can't measure job creation that way. But one thing I find interesting about the endorsements of Gary Peters and John, James is that you really seeing Gary Peters wrap up the Detroit area endorsements, people who know Detroit are. Breaking for Gary Peters in a big way, I mean very specific things they're talking about and John James You. Know this is his hometown he's got the James Group they're a big name. He's got a ton of charities and things listed on the James Group website that that company is involved in. And because of that, I would expect him to have a better relationship with Detroit and it just doesn't seem like like all of these endorsements when they look at what's best for Detroit it's it's Garry Peters. It's not. John. James even though John James says over and over again. You know we're involved in the community care about this community. On and on, it's not surprising that a Republican is not getting those endorsements. What's surprising is that John James is not getting them. We were talking earlier about the situation with the Supreme Court and the implications politically for that appointment there's new polling in the New York. Times which speaks a lot to that Christine. I really found it amazing that the president is basically looking I've if he's looking at the polling, he's doing everything. The people don't want him to do when it comes to this. First of all the top line is nationally this New York Times poll which was conducted in conjunction with CNN college show Joe. Biden. With a forty nine, forty, one lead and it's been that way for the last year. Nothing has changed. It doesn't matter what happens. It seems this pre pandemic post pandemic scandal after scandal it's all the same Donald. Trump's got his forty, forty, one, forty, two per said, and it never grows and Joe Biden from the beginning has been in the high forty to fifty, fifty, one percent and that hasn't changed. So that New York Times poll that just came out shows that most voters prefer that the winner of the election. The next election choose the next Supreme Court. Justice. So. They and they trust Joe Biden over Donald Trump. To do a better job in making the pick fifty, six percent have said that they want the next president to appoint the justice and when it comes to healthcare will fifty seven percent support the affordable care act. I don't know how you know. There's a lot of overlap there and that fifty, six, fifty, seven, percent. but because the affordable care act was such, a big deal trump responded by trying to bribe thirty three million senior citizens with two hundred dollar pharmaceutical cards. Reminder. Show up in the mail that's like at least six point six, billion dollars right before. The election, a lot of pharmaceutical executives backed away from it because the optics were so bad a lot of other. Watchdog people lobbyists have just wondered where he's going to get the money. Six point six billion dollars to send these cards out a love what he said about this while. This is this is donald trump nobody's seen this before these cards are incredible these cars will be mailed out in the coming weeks will always take care of our wonderful senior citizens.

"Think we could find ourselves into that sometimes overused phrase but in this case, maybe apt a constitutional crisis. You mention Bush v Gore in two thousand, which ultimately was decided that critical vote was five to four but probably even more critical was Al Gore saying I accept this and it doesn't sound like that's something Donald Trump would be prepared to do plus it seems like he's really attacked the credibility of his own court basically prejudging the Supreme Court well, it's an interesting scenario because we've got a president who will be naming a successor soon and so were likely have a six three majority it candidate is confirmed on. The Supreme Court, but you know I'm not enough of a cynic to think that just because a president was appointed by a particular president or particular party that justice is an automatic vote in favor of that candidate or party I think that justices tend to reflect the world view of the president who put them there what that they have an obligation that I think they take seriously to decide a case based on the facts and the law is you said we if if president trump is successful in getting a nominee. We will have five of our Supreme Court justices nominated by President who did not have the not win the popular vote. The Donald Trump with three in George W. Bush with to Justice Roberts, and Justice Alito and so what does that say about democracy in about the court's legitimacy? Maybe it has an undermining effect that When it's one justice or two justices is not able, we will majority of five justices people begin to lose confidence in the credibility of the court I. Think that could happen and I think you're also right when you talk about one of the big factors in Bush v Gore was Al Gore doing a very selfless thing in saying I, accept the decision of the court and I concede the election when. He did that I think he signaled to his supporters that they should follow suit and agree to recognize the legitimacy of President Bush, you could imagine president trump saying just the opposite if a court were to get involved or the vote count should be clear that Joe Biden is the winner of the election to say, I don't recognize the legitimacy. He has made a number of statements this week before saying. That I will I don't know that I will recognize the winner of the election we'll have to wait and see what happens and I think that's been alarming for some people that he would not do Al. Gore did in concede the outcome and I think that even if our institutions hold in the court. Determines a clear winner if president trump fails to concede the presidency and and fails to say at recognized Joe Biden as the president, what could that do to his followers? He has this very loyal base. We have seen unrest in places like Kenosha Wisconsin where militia members have decided to take the law into their own hands, we could see uprising. You know maybe not an all out civil war, but we could see violent individuals people who are predisposed slipping looking for a cause to. Come to what they believe is the defense of president trump and engage in violent act. So I do think that there is reason to be concerned about. The scenario described in the Atlantic. Article. It seems to me that this was a part of a bigger strew with donald trump of really destabilizing the entire concept of equal justice under law that is politicized the third branch of both the courts. But also with an attorney general who's probably the most political since Jan Mitchell under Richard Nixon use a as US attorney or political point but you are pretty independent seems like that independence is pretty well gone now too and that really the US attorneys have to march to the beat of, of William Bar am I overreacting. Yet Evidence that US attorneys are acting, as political actors. It's always going through a lot of them lately. Southern District of New York, in Virginia and DC the areas of personal concern to Donald, trump in the trump organization. Yeah. So you know they're ninety three US attorneys around the country I think most of them are doing their jobs a as they are to be done independently looking at cases based on facts and law but I do agree with you. That William Bar has shown himself to be a political actor, and even if he's taking steps that he believes are in the best interests of justice, he has done a lot of fun things to undermine public confidence in his work. Just in the past week, he made statements disparaging the black lives matter movement disparaging Joe Biden as a presidential candidate disparaging. The investigation into election interference and I think those things make it clear that he is a very much a political actor and then you put on top of that some of the things that he has done to discharge US attorneys as you said, in the Southern District of New York, which has jurisdiction over investigations that might be investigating president trump's businesses the trump organization. There is something very squirrelly going on there and you couple that were what we saw in the Western office, the District of Columbia where the US attorney there was. Nominated for a high level position at the Treasury Department. William bars close aide came in and in the month or so that he was there dismissed charges against Michael Flynn or is it trump's former national security adviser and filed a sentencing memo in the Roger Stone case seeking a reduced sentence and then he got replaced and then the nomination for the former US attorney got pulled out after she resigned as US attorney. So they're doing funny things that are very unusual. And it appears that the goal is to put in place in those crucial districts. People who might be reliably adherent to the wishes of William Bar and I agree with you that at least in those two districts, it is concerning now. Jeffrey Berman push back a little bit. By not succumbing to this press release that said he was stepping down and ultimately through his efforts there and through his exposure William bars at least lack of candor was able to get his deputy career person. Installed in place and so that I think at least some confidence that the office would continue to act at least with some independence. Certainly, the Attorney General has veto power over charges that get brought there. But I do think that at the very least that if something untoward were to happen there, we would see a resignation by the US attorney, the acting us attorney in the southern district of New York but but no doubt William Bar has at least created the appearance that he is basing decisions on. Political favouritism for the president. In, the aftermath of Watergate, we had a spate of reform proposals that went through the Congress. I would guess that if Democrats do in fact, take control of the Senate Joe Biden's elected we'll see that again. Here. What would you like to see them go after I if anything. yes I. DO think that some changes need to be made. There's some question as to whether the constitutional separation of powers would allow Congress to put checks on the president's power with regard to the justice. Department. But whether it comes in the form of legislation or self policing that Biden administration could enact through policies and other executive orders of things I would like to see a check on certain things. Number one would be formal limitations on communications between the White House and the justice. Department it seems that there may be undo. Influence or communications occurring between the white. House and the Department of Justice, when it comes to handling cases like that of Michael Flynn or your stone, you want to believe that decisions at the Justice Department are being made with regard to the facts and the law themselves when I was at the Justice Department, it was clear that we were not to talk to the White House because we didn't create even the appearance that we might be basing decisions on the political wishes of the President or anybody affiliated with the White House I. Think we need a formalize that understanding to make it clear that one is not having an impact on the other another area that I would. Like. To formalize is decisions that are made operational case decisions shortly before elections typically, there are memos that are sent out that say things like a prosecutor should not based charging decisions for the purpose of influencing an election. I think it would be useful to broaden that language to say that might even tend to influence an election William Bar has expressed a very narrow view of that policy You know there is some concern that he has up his sleeve and October surprise where he's going to charge people at the FBI and others for the early days of the Russia investigation into President Trump's campaign. So such charges were announced shortly before the election there is concerned it. Would have the same effect that we saw in two thousand sixteen when FBI Director Jim Call me made announcements about Hillary Clinton's email investigation shortly before an election and ultimately they closed that investigation but we didn't know that until even close it just a few days before the election after some early voting hit already started, and so I I think it would be useful.

"John James stand on the issues? And what more can you tell us about him? Right. So, as I said, if you're talking about Gary Peters being sort of moderate, let's say that is the exact opposite of James writes that James is very conservative on issues. He's a Southeast Michigan businessman, and he ran actually for the Senate once before, just two years ago against another Democratic incumbent, Senator Debbie Stabbing, who won in that sort of large blue wave on DSO. James is well known in the state Republicans. Just adore him and what's really interesting in that same poll that you were talking about? At the beginning, it showed that also his name I D is quite similar to Senator Gary Peters, which is pretty incredible When you think of an incumbent senator versus a candidate. How much is President Trump come up in this race? Well, it's very interesting. So two years ago, the first time John James ran, he said quote. He was 2000% behind the Trump agenda. There's definitely some more nuance in 2020. He is still absolutely a supporter of Donald Trump. But I would say he's mentioning The president less than he was two years ago, not doubling down on the Republican president and instead sort of talking as we heard in that ad about his own values his own history and are all the polls showing a pretty close race, Or does Peters have the edge and most of them? Well, of course I always like rather than just looking at one pole, looking at the trend and S O. If you look at the trend, actually, this is sort of the closest pool that we've seen again when you mentioned as of recent, so the trend would show that it appears to be a tightening race. But again, that's not to be unexpected. Michigan Way are interesting state to watch. As you noted, you know, Trump won the state four years ago. We do tend to send Democrats to D. C. S so it'll be interesting to see, but the polls do appear to be tightening. But in terms of the money game, John James continues quarterly to outraise the incumbent, Peters. Zoey Clark, program director and co hosted. It's just politics on Michigan radio talking with us about the Senate race there in the state of Michigan. Zoe Thank you. Thanks so much, Jeremy. And Senator Gary Peters.

"Meanwhile back in the world, of covid nineteen, the governor has taken a move to beef up enforcement of masks usage across the state. She's ordered state agencies including the state police to make it a high priority. Now, at a news conference that she held on Wednesday, she did say that she's not looking to lock people up or have people arrested or a lot of fines or anything, but it's one more step in the. Direction of encouraging people as strongly as possible to do what is the right thing it's about increasing compliance. It's not focused on punishing those who don't it's about increasing the knowledge, the understanding and and really trying to change the culture. I'm grateful that president trump has worn a mask. I. Am glad to see people on both sides of the aisle starting to advocate mask because we gotta get the politics out of this. Now. Is a time for us to band together. It has been said we are at war with the virus it's important that we were in more. Well I'm glad to see that we're putting a little bit of teeth into it. I mean it's ridiculous that we're still having these debates over whether masks can help the CDC. All of the public health officials have said masks. We'll help and the only response to it by people who don't want to wear masks as that is freedom or are they make something about hippo or the Ada or whatever it? You know we're talking about a pretty serious pandemic in our numbers are going back up again. So yes, she should put some teeth in it. Be well, the petition drive to strip the governor of the emergency power. She's using to stop another wave of infections in Michigan continues its led by several Republicans in the legislature including Senate majority leader my Turkey and Lancing Areas Senator Tom, Barrett a no massacre who learned in the last few days that he has affected infected with the virus. We hope he gets well, but hopefully, he'll learn a lesson as well. The campaign is funded mostly by a dark money group Michigan citizens for fiscal responsibility a longtime. Republican strategists operative has filed a campaign finance complaint against tight group Bob'll brand has retired as vice president of the Michigan State Chamber of Commerce. It doesn't get any more Republican that also is a consultant to the Stirling Corporation, which is a Republican political consulting. Firms are very, very powerful and very good firm and has run a lot of dark money campaigns. Bob Lebron was considered the architect of the GOP's Gerrymander vision I talked with him about his campaign finance complaint and Concerns about overturn the governor's urgency powers. First of all on the campaign finance portion of your thoughts on this, what are they doing wrong in your view well I. Thank what we've got here. Michigan citizens for fiscal responsibility. has never been covered by the Michigan campaign. Finance law. They. Operate as kind of an issue advocacy advertising arm since they don't engage express advocacy you know the magic words of vote for a like defeat things like that. Then they can pretty much do you know they can run ads as long as they don't have express advocacy and it all goes unreported I. Think what happened here is this group Michigan citizens per fiscal responsibility decided to kind of expand its mission. And You know made a series of I, think five contributions to unlock Michigan which is, in fact, a ballot question committee regulated by the Michigan Campaign Finance Law that is attempting to repeal and nineteen forty five law that deals with the emergency powers of the governor, and right now we're in the midst of litigation over that nineteen, forty, five law, and later in nineteen seventy, six emergency manager act and I know that the Court of Appeals has this matter before them now and the Supreme Court told them. They had to make a decision by think August twenty first and I, think the Supreme Court expects. Appeal and this matter will be before the state supreme. Court, in early September in terms of the substance of the petition, it is being driven mostly by Republican leadership in the state, which, of course, you were a partner for many many years. But you're opposed to she says bad policy to repeal the governor's emergency powers. Well, take a look at Michigan and we rank. well, after the two thousand, ten census we were. I think eighth in population. If we look at at the census estimates, we'll probably dip down two tenths in population. when I take a look at the number of Covid nineteen cases nationwide although for a while there, we were very very high I think do a lot of emergency orders from from governor Whitmer. About we rank about eighteenth amongst the states and the number of covid nineteen cases. Now, I've got kind of a personal. Stake in all of this and. Soon to turn to seventy four survived a heart attack and cancer COPD, so you know. If we take a look at people of high risk that's probably me and So I don't want to catch Kobe. Nineteen. I'd rather die something else and so you know I I I've taken an interest in events and when I read an article on this campaign finance filing no, it caught my eye. And move more I investigated I. decided that High File Campaign Finance complaint against the Michigan citizens for fiscal responsibility for not registering itself is ballot question committee and reporting or disclosing its contributors, and so that was the basis for it well. Over the years you and I have both participated in campaigns that involve dark money contributions dark money support sometimes, or was absolutely critical I. Think of Supreme Court raises were dark money is just about all of the campaign what are your thoughts regarding dark money? Should it should that all come out in the open? Should we continue to have a sister were basically political expenditures can be made secret I think in a perfect world no Constitutional World unless you know the State of campaign finance federally and and now in Michigan that you have to have a component of express advocacy to allow for governmental regulation of that activity. You know I I remember back before the two thousand election. The only kind of dark money that I witnessed was a series of ads in the eighth. Congressional. District by the AFL CIO the first appearance really of kind of dark money. As you correctly recall happened in the Supreme Court races of two thousand. I remember coming home from. Of vacation believe it or not to Vietnam and Turn on television I. See all these this ad with a holy swing trees insane Taylor Marksman and young Oh my Taylor Markman and young Ono.
Travel to the Mississippi Gulf Coast
"Let's talk about Mississippi's Gulf coast. I I like to welcome the show Charles. McColl from McCall Travel Dot Com and Charles's come to talk to us about coastal Mississippi Charles. Welcome mm to the show. Hi Chris how are you today. I'm doing well and we're talking about the state of Mississippi. What is your connection with coastal Mississippi? As a travel writer. I have visited the coastal Mississippi a few times over the past two years and after going there three or four times. I decided that I loved that area and other parts of the US Gulf coast. So much that I developed a new brand called. US Golf coast which covers everything from key. West South Padre but we are talking only about coastal Mississippi debut today so as a travel writer I covered it several times. Excellent and why should someone go to coastal Mississippi. We'll we'll talk about many things but it is is unique. The unique destination the United States. It has the longest continuous beach in the United States. Which I think a lot of people don't know I love road road trips? I travel all over the world. Love driving and there's this sense of soul fulfillment I drive on the Mississippi Gulf coast. I where it's just different than anywhere else. You can drive for an hour and not see anything except for the sand in the water is unobstructed by condos and indulge and restaurants. And what have you so this this great peace and calm and different than anywhere else. Excellent and what kind of itinerary tenorio you're going to recommend for us. It's not a singular destination. There are many communities there. So I'm GonNa recommend some things to do in each of the communities go along the coastal Mississippi. It's all still call the Mississippi Gulf coast. So I'M GONNA use both terms interchangeably. I don't want you to drive fifty miles in one day for lunch and then go drive fifty miles back so I will concentrate on the various communities and say all right first day. You're going to be here second day. You're going to be here and so on and we can do a three four five seven ten very well. Let's get into it where you're GONNA start it. Let's start in Pascagoula. So Mississippi is between Alabama and Louisiana China so coastal Mississippi represents the entire Mississippi Gulf coast so over on the east side closest Alabama Alabama. If you're driving from mobile the first thing you're gonna hit is Pascagoula. The city is probably most famous. because it's where Jimmy Buffett was born. Okay I did not I know that. Yeah so that's going to set the expectations for what the coastal Mississippi areas. All about thank Jimmy Buffett was born there so we're already at our five o'clock somewhere attitude. Pascagoula is also a navy base. So there's a lot of military and also industry the street going on there but it's it's a seafaring community. It's laid-back relative to some of the other cities. We'll talk about. Well what are we going GonNa do in Pascagoula one of the things that happened in past the goal of that as I guess lesser known as that one of the biggest UFO abduction stories in in US history happened there. So back in the seventies the couple of people claim that they were abducted by UFO. And so they were never disproven even so. That's one of the most famous things that happened in Pascagoula. Okay but other than being abducted by aliens. What am I going to do in Pascagoula for won a narrow down here to the the oldest house in Mississippi isn't Pascagoula okay? It's called the lapointe Krebs House and museum now so I went. There are a couple of months ago and I was fascinated by Howell. They showed the construction of how house was done in the bleed was the seventeen. Twenty s house was built the How they use the for the the hair from animals as insulation in the house and things like that kind of interesting Seventeen fifty seven. Is there anything specific renovated the Krebs House. We're going to go to the Krebs House. You could probably spend a couple of hours there. It's a nice waterfront setting and you can get some history of the. The natives that lived in the area and then European settlers came in and saw a whole history of Mississippi but the main point there there's to see the the house and the oldest house in the Mississippi Delta region I think between Minnesota and the Gulf of Mexico. It's the oldest house that's still in the American frontier. I'm thinking New Orleans would be older than that but I mean the city might be but I'm not sure if there's a structure that's older than point good point. The city is older but I don't know if there are any of original houses. Okay Fair enough. But another thing that I really loved in Pascagoula. The Motto Bon Center. I believe the official is the best. Gula River Audubon Bond Center captain McCoy Relation on McColl. And there's a captain McCoy and he runs nature trips out of the Pascagoula River River Audubon Center and what I loved about. It is that I learn things. Obviously like you learn on most trips but the Pascagoula River is the longest. And I'm not going to get the the terminology right. It's the longest une damned river in the continental united in a at states. Yeah so I was fascinated by that and I was like well. What about this wherever they were like now? It was dammed at some point. So the Pascagoula River I believe is four four hundred and eighty miles. That is natural the way it's always been so it hasn't been dammed. It hasn't been obstructed by any kind of construction directions so you can see wildlife and nature the way that it was several hundred years ago. Something didn't expect expect to find in coastal Mississippi or anywhere else and you say wildlife. I'm picturing talking marshes birds alligators that sort of thing. Am I in the right right ballpark. You're right and one thing that that's dominant in this area or the Mississippi sandhill cranes which are relatively large bird. I'm sure there are in other parts that states but there is a sandhill crane refuge that none in Pascagoula but on the other side so I tend cuts through through the area so from mobile bill to New Orleans. You would drive high tech Postal Mississippi. I'm talking about everything. South of I ten okay. North of town the Pascagoula River would go up there. And that's where the sandhill crane. Refuges the birds. No birds don't recognize boundaries. They fly all over the place. So you can see that. I was on the riverboat tour. Okay the AUDUBON center is like most centers they want to promote the natural wildlife and the scenery. And that's so forth and it's a really hidden gem. I think that most people don't recognize will in because it has the name Audubon on it. I'm assuming calmly talking about birdlife predominantly. So yes okay. I don't know if everybody knows. I mean Audubon as a as a charity I think is well known but Google Audubon. You'll find what is James Audubon. Is that the a original one who did all the original drawings of birds in the early. US That's really neat. Watercolors this fascinating realistic catches does right. So I mentioned captain McCoy so you could take his crews out of the audubon center also wrench around Kayak and I did did that one time and going at your own pace around the marshes fascinating at least a dozen gainers and as close they would just scatter into the water. So I love love doing that at my own pace to excellent and John James Audubon. I got it almost John James. Okay when I said early. I didn't realize how early he was. He was born in seventeen eighty five and so he was basically drawing birds up until about the Mexican American war. You're in the US. And so as the frontiers were being filled in a he was out there with his sketch pad. MOM IN ESTA goal. There's obviously the Jimmy Buffett stuff to the native son. A I think he this family left when he was three and then he grew up in mobile but he has come back and he recognizes Pascagoula his birthplace so there is a beach and a bridge and his childhood home are all named for Jimmy Buffett. The parrot heads can go and pay pilgrimage to Jimmy Buffett and go visit some of those sites and one of my favorite places the Pascagoula is called bozos grocery. It's a very old school from the nineteen fifties place where you go in you place your order and you wait inside. been there two or three times. The last time I went kayaking at the river Audubon Center. In fact I got a takeout L. Poboy from Bozo's grocery and then took it on the Kayak. "While reviews for apple cart have been glowing for the most part. The rollout has not been completely without incident. I'm more ran a piece. Yes i missed tuesday saying some apple cart. Invitees are running into issues with their apple i._d. The cording to the report multiple users are reporting that when they they received their invitation for the apple card they're being asked by apple for proper email associated with the apple i._d. Even though they already provided it one rather than user john james jacoby says he put himself in for an invitation when it arrived the email he provided didn't match an apple i._d. However he says he has used that apple i._d. With the same email for nearly ten years john james jacoby his name is nearly my name to meanwhile. I'm more writer. Christine romero chan has had a similar issue though in her case she knows what went wrong. She says i gave them a different email. That isn't associated with my apple i._d. That was my mistake weird. Everyone else is getting the the same email though i just reentered with my apple i._d. I'm more says reentering with a proper email is easy to do though the side figures. It'll delay your apple cart invitation by a couple of days. There's a third issue mentioned in the eye more piece though may be the same thing that happened to j. j. jacoby quoting. I more again some users who did enter the proper apple i._d. Have been asked to provide it again by the same email response. If you receive one of these e mails from apple just provide your apple i._d. Again it's an issue. Many users have reported and apple is aware of it. It should not preclude you from getting getting an apple card early invitations apple cart or a u._s. Only thing right now even if you did get an email someplace else. The separate piece on i'm more from wednesday's says yeah. That's the thing that's happening. Citing a report from apple and cider the says apple users from countries trees outside of the u._s. Including canada england and france are receiving apple card invitations. Why is it happening. Only only apple knows they gotta figure. They don't actually know yet otherwise it wouldn't be happening. Apple is said to be aware of the various invitation issues news and is believed to be working on fixes goldman. "The Ben Shapiro show. So joining us on the line right now is John James candidate for the United States Senate over in Michigan. Sterling resume, husband, father, combat veteran businessman a two thousand four West Point graduate, John went on to become a ranger qualified of patchy pilot, who served with distinction in operation. Iraqi freedom is amazing last time around. There are a couple of democratic candidates, you've got outside attention because they were competitive in racist, people did not think they would be competitive. Andrew gillum in Florida, who is a black man. And of course, Stacey Abrams in Georgia who is a black woman. John James has a black man. The media completely ignored, even though he ran a very contested race in Michigan. He's running again, for Senate, John, thanks so much for joining the Ben Shapiro show. Glad to be here. So John, why don't we start with this for folks who don't know anything about, you give sort of the elevator pitch for why your candidacy matters? Well, my candidacy matters, I think mostly, because we need someone about a passenger service, a clear vision for the future energy to actually implement this running again, because the system is broken and Rick begins regular American visit was seven months ago. I'm money, then thinker in the Republican party because ours and failed binding to give God and help as many people that possibly can, and I understand if somebody who's been blessed like me has obligation blessing. Others, I graduated from West Point two thousand four and became a range of qualified achy pilot, I seven hundred fifty hours combat operation Iraqi freedom and and led to combat. But while I was over in Iraq, I got to cede Detroit during the great recession while I was over there and their area in the betrayed Flint, Pontiac, Saginaw area, the home of worse in the combat zone. I was flying. And so I knew this was not in America something had to happen to change. So I went back and joined the family business. And help to create one hundred jobs in Detroit in around the country, I believe that we need leadership on the floor US than to understand how to keep American safe because they've done it before we need leaders in the for the US, Senate who understand how to grow and comic opportunity for poor all people because they've done it before, if you like to learn more, please go to John James, Senate dot com or Facebook and Twitter at John James Emma, so you're running against Gary Peters, last time around you read against heavy Savetno, who's an incumbent Peters is an incumbent, but whose first elected in two thousand fourteen who's the only non incumbent Democrats who win a Senate election in two thousand fourteen where the particular holes in Peterson's record that you hope to expose in this campaign. Thank that he came around and election year thing that he is going to out work any any candidate run against him. Well, Senator Pete, I ask you why wait until election year. We have the same name ID and his name, ideas, relatively low. It's going to witness protection for the past four years. He's been a career politician for the past thirty years, and the situation that people want to blame Republicans and our president for have persisted for decades in my state in urban and rural areas center of here have not done enough for veterans in our state. He's not done enough for farmers in our state. He's not done enough for communities all of our state, and he wants to talk about bipartisanship, but he bones. When Chuck Schumer the Democratic Party, ninety five percent of the time that not by partnership, that's lockstep partisanship, and we deserve more on an to represent everybody hit Michigan, not just the ones who both ways, obviously President Trump needs to win Michigan. In order to win reelection. He's twin one of the following three states Michigan, Wisconsin or Pennsylvania, Michigan may. In fact, be his best bet according to polls having you live in the state obviously, you are run for Senate in the state. Where do you think the prevailing winds are politically in Michigan? Do you think what do you think of President, Trump's chances of holding the safe, it, how do you think that his tariff policies have either helped or hurt the state? Well, I'll tell you trade, the big deal in the state of Michigan weather's automotive, which is the first largest industry agricultural spending in industry. I believe that free. But fair trade is an absolute imperative and people have been countries have been taking advantage of America's Stanford for quite some time. Our president is standing up for American workers are standing up for American businesses, and he's pointing to our trading allies and partners in bang. No more you can no longer take advantage of American workers, and the people state of Michigan recognize that and realize that nobody wants to be on the front out of a trade war. And I know that I've been to actual war night, one, a business that deals in taxes tariffs and trade every single day, I believe our president, tough stance against against China, in particular, is absolutely imperative with the force technology or the IP than North Korean Ebeling, the human rights violations. China is literally building their middle class and military on the backs of ours. And that cannot continue. I look forward to working with anyone that everyone believed that Michigan is going to be the center of the election in twenty twenty because people realize what stuff people realize that we need to make sure that we continue economics economic boom, that we have to make sure that no one gets left behind, and make sure that we continue to grow our country. Well, we're stigma, John James candidate for United States Senate in Michigan. So hopefully perspective. Senator James, let's talk a little bit about the Republican party and races. So obviously, the state of Michigan race is a very fraught issue across the country, racism fraud issue right now. Particularly with the Republican party. The media labeling the Republican party racially antagonistic toward black folks racist, as a black candidate in the Republican party. What's been your experience with race inside the Republican party? What are the issues that the Republican party needs to solve in order to appeal more to minorities, because that's the area where Republicans poll extraordinarily poorly. Well, I said, a long time ago that out of the beauty of this country is we're Americans is not about black and white. It's about red white blue. And when I was in the military when I was at West Point, we didn't look at our differences. We looked at United us which was the flag the country that we love so much. I, I believe that out folks who are who are pointing to, to that race will try to fit people entitled fit me in particular into a bottle. I'm not gonna fit into somebody's little perfect box. I'm not going to be there buying area option of what they wanna put me out or define me to be. I learned a long time ago watching my father, who was was raised directly cost Mississippi State university and couldn't go there because he was black. He didn't allow his race to hinder him. He fought his way to Vietnam. Came back was discharged honorably. He started from company one truck one trailer and no excuses hated. By his own effort, and the favorable business policies in the Reagan administration and grew his company to a point where he was able to then hand it over to his son, and we were able to grow by two hundred thirty three percent five years, and that wasn't because we are black. That was becoming this country. If you work hard, and play, by the rules, you can exceed even coming out of the Jim crow south, and so we need to make sure that our country can still do this, that our country still offer this promise and the people who are frustrated by the system. Cannot realize the American dream because career politician, but continue to divide along race wine to benefit themselves have been their pocket and to retain their power. And that's why the people who can stand up much, and that is why I will John James candidate for US Senate Michigan. Thanks so much for really appreciate joining the program if you want to check out John James, go check them out at John James four Senate dot com. That's John James for Senate dot com. He's a candidate who certainly deserves in my opinion, your support, and he's running in obviously a state that matters an awful lot. Not just for the Senate seat. But for twenty. Eight hundred eighty in the presidential race. John, thanks, much joining the program really appreciate it, sir. Thanks, joe. Well, a little while we're going to get to the, the reality that the media are finally discovering that social security is basically bankrupt. We'll get to that in just one second first, let's talk about something uncomfortable again. Okay. The fact is we are all going to die. No one wants to think about that. In fact, we procrastinates we don't have to think about that. And usually procrastination does not work to their benefit. But the fact is, if you are not dead, and you have been procrastinating, two things that I think probably all of us have with life insurance it paid off for you..

"I looked at John James Harden's line JV during that break. He had fifteen shot attempts to the first step. He's got eighteen for the game now. So he's only taking three shots in the second half. They're still not aggressive enough. We saw that in the fourth quarter in game five he only made one field goal yet three points in that fourth quarter. They lose a tight game. And maybe there's some fatigue with James harden. I don't know. Chris ball. Obviously had a going James harden was on the bench for the better part of that. So now he's out there with Chris what he needed more aggressive James, aren't if you wanna live another day and go to game seven on Sunday. "Of John JAMES BOND twenty five Jacob. What did we learn? Yeah. Summer's are slash on team woke up extra early to make sure we caught the livestream were prepared for an onslaught JAMES BOND, twenty-five news and said, we got a tiny little trickle. We didn't. We didn't get a title. They said flat out the first minute of the stream that they did not have title picked yet, which is annoying because specter and sky fall, we're both announced with a lot of Poppins pomp and circumstance with their title. And everything. So it's we're still calling a bond twenty-five for now. But initially they was a live stream from the GoldenEye villa in Jamaica, where author inflaming wrote most of the JAMES BOND novels, and of course, the name of his home inspired the United ninety five film GoldenEye. And here's what we did. Learn from producers, Barbara broccoli, Michael g Wilson and director Cary Fukunaga. Who were all there, if we're talking a little about the details of the movie, and why they were Jamaica, which is where the opening scenes of the film is set. So here's the official plots knobs this for JAMES BOND, twenty-five bond has left active service in his join a tranquil life in Jamaica. "Show. Got a lot to get to this hour. We'll be discussing latest in the Jesse smart case where it looks like a prosecutor could be facing disbarments in the state of Illinois. We'll also get your questions in the mail bag. But we begin. With President Trump doing a huge rally. President Trump basically laid out what his twenty twenty campaign is going to look like and there a good time. The points and their bad points. Michigan is a state he won't extraordinarily narrowly over Hillary Clinton. Peter forty seven point three percent to forty seven percents. It is trending a little bit blue because in the last election cycle in two thousand eighteen a lot of Democrats won the senatorial candidate John James over there. A really good solid Republican candidate military background African American. He lost which was too bad. The fact is that President Trump's reelection essentially hinges on three states, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. That's it. And that's the whole election. He will probably win Ohio. It's debatable. Whether he wants for it depends on the democrat. If he loses Florida it's over he has to hold all of the states that he held last time except for one he can lose Wisconsin and still win the election. He could lose Pennsylvania as long as you, hold Wisconsin. And Michigan, but he cannot lose two of those three or the election is over Michigan is a crucial. Battleground state for him on the aftermath of the Muller reports top line findings being released President Trump was ready to. Go on rampage in Grand Rapids, Michigan half, the rally was that how much he hates the media and how much he despises the people who pushed the Russia collusion hoax and then half the rally was dedicated to him actually attacking the democratic positions. Now all of this is good, right? All of this is good for Trump. Trump's pitch in two thousand hundred is very simple. I have been targeted like no other president in history by the media. I have been called a Russian stooge for two years because they couldn't get over the fact that Hillary Clinton lost. And yet in spite of that we have made all of these games on the economy on foreign policy. We were rebuilding our military. We're cutting regulations we're making it easier to do business. Imagine what a second term of this will be if the media get over themselves and actually allow me to do the work that I need to do. That's the argument that President Trump should be making headed into twenty twenty by President Trump is nothing if not as he likes to call himself, a counterpuncher this has its upsides, and it has its downsides. And so we returned to campaign Trump campaign Trump who has I've described in past. Is a hammer in search of a nail sometimes hits the nail. And it's very satisfying. And sometimes he hits a baby, and it is far less satisfying in Grand Rapids. Michigan a pent up crowd. I mean, the the crowd was just ready to roar. At the slightest provocation here is the president of the United States describing what he called the collusion delusion after three years.
