"What? What's more likely? Never say never, but never. All right, what do you got over there, Chris? All right, first off, just shout out will Compton gave him some grief yesterday. Why are you shouting him out? He responded on Twitter. He said I had a twisted sense of humor or something. I'm just, you know, just recognizing. You did not give him credit for what we were doing the thing. And co hosting the button with the boys of Sam darnold video did well on our social stream. So thank you to the host of busing with the boys for that clip. Taylor the one and what's his name? I forgot. All right, what's more likely guys heading into a monster masters and opening day filled weekend. First up, he just teed off. He's in the bunker. What's more likely? Tiger, misses the cut, or finishes in the top ten. I'm more likely as he finishes in the top ten, baby. That's what's more likely. That's what's up, 'cause he's gonna have to have a brutal afternoon and for him to miss this cut right now. I think, I don't want the cut line is three over, is out the cut line as well. That line estimated, yeah, about three four over there. Okay. So you'd have to have the weather's not great, and he's in one of those bunkers right now, that you're thinking, it's so tough to get in and out of a bunker period. This thing is well over his head. Long story short. I'm going positive. Glass half full for this man. Top ten. Instead of missing the cut, what else? I am positive. All right, I was looking at the top 30 this morning. Maybe it's changed, but it was 50 50. It was a 15 Americans and 15 non Americans in the field right now to win the masters. So who do you got? Masters winner. What's more likely in American or the rest of the field? I'll go good old U.S. of a that's what I'll do. I'll go good old U.S. of a in your what do we call it the old barranca? So what do we call it? What do you call your doctor? I mean, I just call it the master's pool, but yeah, barranca, that sounds good. Okay. The Ralph barranca? The top 5, though, all, not American. It's currently at the moment. I hear you. I don't know, I was just throwing it out there. As you know, I took Scottie scheffler, I think it's his time. I think he's on fire. He's en Fuego to use the phrase of Dan Patrick. The Emmy nominated Dan Patrick show. Here on peacock. Yeah, so I'll go American. Yeah, good old U.S. of a but I'll do a video. All right, all right. Sounds great. All right. Opening weekend for Major League Baseball is TJ, like to say it's the second day of Major League Baseball, started socks up three two in the yanks. Yeah, by the way, how about a 5 run first inning? How about Garrett Cole giving up three top one? But two teams pitching isn't the strength. So that's kind of part of the coal makes 90 million dollars a day. That's why that should be the straight Aaron judge only two 20 over 8. That's a lot of money. Makes a lot of money. Come on, man. All right, so I was looking at last year, some of the big milestones that happened during the year. There was a no hitter on April 9th last year, and someone hit three home runs in a game. I think it was JD Martinez on April 11th. So what's more likely this weekend? A no hitter or a three home run game. I'll go three home run game. It's going to happen. We're going to come on the air Monday and you're going to go rich, you nailed it. Three home run game. It's going to happen. Absolutely going to happen. What's the most clear to both? How about both? Both. They happened in the first four days last year on first weekend of baseball managers are going to be like, oh, that's 80 pitches. And at the last night. You Darvish was out of no hitter through 6 and they took him out and then they lost. But that's baseball these days. And that's what I think.

"So I still think that's kind of going to be what people are going to be thinking about. Isn't it a distinct advantage though for the offense to get it second? Because you'd never go for it, flash and say that. But it would be very rare for you to go for it and overtime game fourth and 8 from your own 20, but you definitely are going to do that if you have to, right? Yeah. So isn't that a distinct advantage? That's such a good point. I mean, that's the point. My argument on the whole thing is that's why I'm not for it. And even though our team voted for it, they voted for it over my objection because I don't think it solves a problem. The only way to solve the possession is 9 tenths of the law. It's the most important aspect of the game or anything. The only way that we try to mitigate it last year by field position, which is the two things possession and field position. And that got three votes. So now we're just going to add possessions and it's like, well, how many possessions are we going to add? And when is it going to stop? And are we going to extend the game into the 5th quarter, the 6th quarter? We're going to keep track and plays on. So I'm not bashful about saying it to you. You're my friend. I love you. And I said in front of the whole league. So I'm not for it. I don't think I don't think it's the answer, I think there will be a better way to do it. At some point in time, but we did have to do something. And I really respect Jeff lurie, the eagles and some of the teams that are really trying to do something to make it more fair. So that's kind of where we're at with it. But this thing still is full of holes. In terms of just extending adding more plays to the game and really what have you really solved? So that's where I'm at with it. So I don't know. I haven't really read the fine print of the rule. And I think maybe we're still all learning what it might mean. Is it possible for a team to get it? And go onside kick and that would then mean if you recover it, you just need a field goal to win because the other team had its opportunity to possess it, ball spinning around there ten yards from where the kick, the onside kick began, and thus going for an onside kick, if you get the ball first, might just also mean that it doesn't matter if it doesn't matter in terms of field position if you don't recover it, certainly if you've got in your back pocket of possession, you know you're going to get. Is that possible? Sure. But it was possible. I mean, that was something you could do with the last rule. If you get the onsite kick, now that they've had their possession opportunity and you're in sudden death, now you just go kick the field going win. So that hasn't changed. If you're facing a great quarterback, and you'd say, I don't think we're going to stop them. All right, I'd like to add a 10% chance, maybe that I'm going to get the ball back and maybe I add if they only have a 90% chance of getting the ball and scoring instead of what might be considered a 100% chance if you don't think you can stop them. You've helped yourself just a little bit there. But it's really not any different than it was before, the only difference is now at least if they do score in a short field as opposed to a long field. I know I'm going to get the ball back. So I'm going to have an opportunity to go score and tie the game up or win with a two point. So I guess last one for you on this. You don't have to name names. I imagine you might not have been the only head coach in the NFL not into this, but ownership or whomever said, let's do it anyway, because it's better than nothing. In the minority as a head coach in the NFL on not really being into this new idea? I.

"I can't wait for football season. I'm talking about real football. The preseason is over thankfully and mandate nfl teams handle the first three game. Preseason in a variety of ways. I have no idea which way was right and which way was wrong. And perhaps there's not even a right or wrong. Answer to this ron rivera. As way was to sit everybody saturday night against the ravens to ensure they get to the opener. On september twelfth against the chargers healthy john harbaugh took the other route and lost his starting running back. J dobbins for the year to a torn c. l.

"His forte is what defense That defense was awful. Last year, Ryan Tannehill He's not the main attraction on that offense. I actually would argue this when you look at the offense. There are three other bigger attractions on offense. For the Tennessee Titans before you get to the quarterback. Would you agree with that? That Julio Jones, AJ Brown. Derrick Henry are bigger attractions. Then Ryan 10. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Ryan Tannehill. He's more than a game manager, but I wouldn't call him a great quarterback going to come a very good quarterback. The last two years. He's been good. We saw that what happens when Derrick Henry gets taken away as what transpired in the playoff game? He's not going to go win the game on his own. Does he have some clutch plays? Yeah, I saw him up against the Patriots have two big third down conversions and Tom Brady's final game. But I'm not in love with this Tannehill Vrabel connection at seven on this list. Like I would much rather have Stefanski and Mayfield in that spot. Six. Josh Allen, Sean McDermott, Love it. Five. Lamar Jackson. John Harbaugh. Love it. Now I do have some Some gripes with the order, but nothing major. Have zero problem with Pekao. Russell Wilson, Here's an interesting one. Aaron Rodgers, Matt LaFleur in at three. Don't know if three is the proper placing for Aaron Rodgers. He's awesome. For Matt LaFleur. I think he's just outside being a top 10 coach in this league. Don't get me wrong. 13 and 3 13 threes. Awesome If you take Aaron Rodgers off that team What's metaphor is a football coach. Rogers the floor. It seems like they're on the same page and Rogers has no problem with him. But now the floor it did make that bone headed decision. Kick a field goal and get the ball back to Tom Brady when they were down by eight. Eventually feel good was good that they were down by five. Mahomes. Rita, too. This one surprised me. Think Mahomes and read should be number one that's coming from the biggest Tom Brady fan in the world. Guess, though. If you want to play it this way, Brady arians that smother Mahomes and Andy Reid in the Super Bowl. So that would be my assumption on why Brady and Mahomes or Brady in Arians are in front of Mahomes and read. Bruce Arians. The top 10 coach. Andy Reid is the second best coach in football behind Bill Belichick and Tom Brady is still a top three quarterback in the sport. But I look at Anti read Mahomes. Mahomes. I would say, Top three quarterback probably the best. He is the best quarterback in football right now currently That's redundant. Andy Reid. Is the second best coach. I think they've got to be number one. If I was making this list here would be my top five. Number one. Mahomes read. Number two. Arians Brady. Three. I would put Russell Wilson Pete Carroll. In front of La Fleur Rogers. The For Rogers would be 45. I had to decide between Lamar Jackson and John Harbaugh or Josh Allen and Sean McDermott. Lamar Jackson's one M V P. John Harper's won a Super Bowl, but it's entering this season. If you ask me at quarterback, Who would you rather have? I'd rather have Josh Allen over Lamar Jackson for this season, and I've been a big Lamar Jackson supporter ever since he did come out of Louisville. The coach. Sure, I'd rather have John Harbaugh. But McDermott Think is a top 10 coach, I think is an extremely underrated coach. He's made the playoffs three times the last four years in Buffalo. One of those years, Tyrod Taylor was the starting quarterback. I'll look at the quarterback and put some more stock in there, so number five of my list.

"Well mark Jackson rushed for one hundred thirty six charging that a forty eight yard touchdown run while the Baltimore defense held Derrick Henry to just forty yards rushing as the ravens beat the Titans twenty to thirteen to win the wild card playoff game the Titans jumped out to a ten nothing lead after one quarter Jackson's touchdown run tied the game at ten all heading into halftime that allowed ravens head coach John Harbaugh to breathe a bit easier it had a big effect aren't you just got it back again we needed we needed points at that point we got us back in the game second psychologic I really don't know but it makes a lot better and tell you that JK Dobbins had a four yard touchdown run that gave the ravens a lead in the defense sealed the deal when Marcus Peters intercepted Ryan Tannehill with one fifty to go I'm Frank heist

Why Tom Seaver Is The Greatest Met Ever
"People perhaps too young to have seen it and to have lived through it. How would you put into words what Tom Seaver meant to baseball and particularly in New York in the late sixties and the seventies? Well. He's the greatest met ever and there is not a close second. He's for me one of the ten greatest pitchers of all time when you look at his wins, his era and his strikeouts, the only pitcher in history that can match those numbers is Walter Johnson whose regularly considered the greatest. Of all time top seaver struck out ten batters in a row that is still a major league record and they were the last ten hitters of the game showing how strong he was at the end Greenie I was twelve years old when he pitched the mets to the world championship in nineteen, sixty nine it was absolutely breathtaking to watch a pitcher who threw that hard with that kind of precision and the way he threw that back news to drag against the ground. He was so big and he was so strong. He was Tom Terrific in every way he was he was like a superhero in my youth. I grew up in New York and I wasn't met Fan, but you couldn't not not only admire him but you're almost all of him. He became almost mythical figure you can. We talk about that a little bit not not just how great pitcher he was the numbers tell you that story but just what he meant in an even larger sense than that, how would you put that into words? Well he was so much a celebrity in New York because he was so smart he was. So worldly, he did the New York Times Crossword puzzle every day and apparently nobody did it better than he did and he never took himself too seriously Dick Schaap told this great story one night that Dick arranged a party out with a bunch of people, a bunch of writers and a bunch of celebrities. And among the celebrities were Muhammad, Ali and Tom Seaver and through the night went along alley. Brilliant Mad. But not a great baseball fan whispered to Tom seaver which newspaper do you work for Anti seaver like burst out in laughter that's how great he was at understanding his place and everything he said that what he retired, he wanted to become an artist, but he wasn't good enough to be an artist. But boy was he a great great baseball player who captured a town at the perfect
New York Mets Legend Tom Seaver Dies At Age 75
"One of the greatest players in the history of baseball alleged in every sense of the word in New York sports, and beyond Tom Seaver was known as Tom Terrific he died yesterday of complications of Covid nineteen and dementia at the age of seventy five, and where do we begin seaver transformed the match from cellar dwellers to world champions three hundred eleven games eighteenth all time most important win game for the sixty nine world series. The mets winning the championship legend thirty, six, hundred, forty strikeouts in his career six. The most ever still has the record with ten straight strikeouts in a game and of course, as much. Deserving seaver went into the hall of fame in Nineteen Ninety two, he got a then record ninety eight point eight four percentage of the vote more on Tom Seaver who was the nineteen sixty seven national league rookie of the year two seasons later on the first of his three Cy young awards also a three time nationally champion during his major league tenure and made the All star. "Maybe a little bit more creative than the others I just I read John Harbaugh's comments at the honestly most what I think is not all sports are meant to be played at a global pandemic perhaps that's a bad reality eyes I want football back of course I want everyone to be safe more than anything but maybe football doesn't work in a global pandemic maybe baseball is a work in a global pandemic mailbox works golf works so far the Bundesliga seems to work they're getting through it I mean yeah you had players or to tested positive they kept going on thankfully doesn't look like anyone's families are getting sick and things like that so you can make maybe some sports are better to play a pandemic and others aren't maybe football is not one of them I think football is going to play though because there's so much money at stake and because they are at there's no way they're not going to play I just find that you know I can't imagine the NFL season be canceled there's just what happened to figure something out and too much money at stake and I think ultimately that's going to win whether you think it's right or wrong but Harbaugh that's what I thought he was illustrating to meet maybe it just doesn't work maybe it doesn't but that's not the best to join here from an NFL head coach and maybe we don't get through an NFL season but they are by hook or by crook they're gonna find a way to start the NFL season we'll see if there is indeed a second wave and god willing hopefully there is not during the case of a fall on the NFL as nobody wants to go through what we went through for the last three months and continuing to go through and have another wave your soul Matt yeah I don't know if it's necessarily Jim Harbaugh John Harbaugh going down cell telling me that this is an impossibility while they're going to figure it out they're going to make the impossible possible if you're an NFL head coach so I don't know if that's really doing your team or your coaching staff any service by making a statement that he made he could be frustrated by the limitations but he's going to have to work with the limitations and I think they're going to be players and there might be teams I I do think there's a disparity between a team that already has an established program Maggie and one that's trying to establish a new program and new coaches I think the learning curve might be a little bit greater there now they're bad they're worse football team see might not learn that initially because it was a coaching change there's a coaching change usually for a reason these are not a particularly good football team but I do think those staffs might be up against a little bit more as compared to establish programs but I think Harbaugh is telling here it might be next to impossible to get our teams where we need them to get to at the start of the season given the limitations that we're gonna have to orchestrate and work through during training camps and it might be right in essence what Harbaugh saying he might exactly yeah and I think he probably is right because you want to see physicality you want to see guys you want to see it and I know they've limited but the physicality working guys through seeing guys how to read how they react during course of practice see how they react to mistakes there's a lot of things as a coaching staff that you want to learn about players that that you're not gonna be able learn as much this go round so it's going to be a greater learning curve and I think what Harbaugh saying is realistic and maybe we can play football in the fall but by hook or by crook bagi they're going to try eight seven seven three three seven sixty six of sixty six we see you guys on the phones we will get to your phone calls you want to talk about Carlos Beltran Alex Cora you want to talk about the NFL returning in the fall and whether you have any reservations about it or you think that they're gonna be able to operate it's not gonna be business as usual but if they're gonna be able to work around a lot of these parameters work through a lot of these parameters and still give us a great product guys town.

"John Harbaugh he is worried as are other people around the NFL about hacking if this draft is done all digitally online if with the NFL draft it's a couple of weeks away yeah big concern on my level of involvement has been every time I read something like the Wall Street journal The New York Times the talks about how messed up zoom is or some of these other deals like came out this morning I immediately texted to our I. T. people and the value is one of those guys and there's sure maybe yeah we're we are doing everything humanly possible and I remind them that that's what Wells Fargo and all those other places said about our private information so I've got some real concerns about that and hopefully will be okay I mean I like John Harbaugh a lot a lot a lot but every one of these NFL executives coaches making excuses fear mongering over not be able do this damn draft what kind of information do you consider Seoul other worldly important that it's more important than banking information I mean we're putting our social security card number out there every single day what exactly do the ravens have a computer bank that is more that is more concerning to John Harbaugh then applying for credit card or paying your bank statement I mean honestly like he I'm sure his mortgage information is online I'm sure of it I'm sure all this taxes information is online I'm sure of it his personal info is online could easily be stolen hacked if he allowed himself that fear which we should all have that for you because it happens all the time and he's worried about what draft prospect capsules thank you for it about the war one giraffe board you would about a playbook I mean I I wonder here whereas what exactly are these guys so concerned about I think they're just making excuses because they're so worried they didn't get the scouting in that now they've got to the point where anything goes wrong in their livelihoods are on the line they will point to what how can I focus I was stressed that we were on June maybe could have been so of course I could make the right pick it is all laid out long elaborate plan is at of an excuse it's almost like they've taken a page out of my book in my career I'm really wondering here so they're worried if you take them at face value they are worried that a team will hack into their resume teleconference to see who they want to pick and they'd pick that player before they pick them up that's that's the concern here or see their peak for which I'm sure will be emerging on assume somewhere yeah I guess and so they would know who this team like they kind of hold them over a barrel for a three week yes exact well don't get hung up on deck three thank you you your your guys unless they like those guys as well this whole thing is ridiculous when your battery.

"From their home to yours the team rocket mortgage is with you we appreciate you being with us on this fine Thursday coming up in about twenty minutes we are starting to wonder who's sat in forty minutes what do you of NFL people are all worried hot and bothered about this virtual draft NFL draft will emanate from everybody's living rooms and a fellow executives GM's coaches it's said are coming up in a couple of weeks why are today's soul what worried me John Harbaugh brought up getting hacked so we'll talk about this whether there's a real concern about any there's soon conferences being attacked or hacked coming up for the NFL draft but first Jamie this way instead he's a free agent kudos to him does to me he is looking for a job and there are some rumors abounding in Pittsburgh that he might be the perfect backdrop to data Roethlisberger returning of course from a season ending injury from a year ago here is former Steelers head coach bill Cowher on with the boomer NGO on the CBS sports network and WFAN in New York are here dear gracious going from the standpoint that I have kind of sense we're Pittsburghers going with this football team has been on that date came into his identity is absolutely blown through too except that one year stint behind Brandon maybe thanks to years so I just think that that would be the biggest obstacle to overcome is for James to sit there or not thank you have a chance to compete for jobs and to take a minimal salary because that's what the issue is going to have to take to go to Pittsburgh this can be conducting I'll continue not that one have planes so I just don't know that it will happen right now just because the timing of it but you know the answer to this your Janice plants you know he's he's he's a guy that's been teased her family's nylons your question the judgment seat makes the concept rosary makes but in a whole new standing in the end the chance to kind of just reinvent themselves would be a good thing for him is going to be in the right place so if Sheamus Winsted at just twenty six years old by the way James went to twenty six years old could get this deal from the Steelers to be the heir apparent to Ben Roethlisberger that he would only have to wait in the wings for a year or two well if you're Janice you should sign up for that immediately if you could get a guarantee that you're the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers one year from now you absolutely set up for that right now you're twenty six you'd be twenty seven or twenty eight years old that's a best case scenario for GM is Winton's career they always draft well they always develop well right now they have it at least lights out defense who does the defense is one or two years from now but still being part of the Steelers organization the stability there the development of players they're the drafting there that's the best place for Jameis Winston to sixty like a lot of quarterbacks if you can be the heir apparent within a year or two of Ben Roethlisberger you absolutely sign up for that that's the smart play it's what teddy Bridgewater data Bridgewater went to New Orleans and said I'm gonna sit behind drew Brees until I get a shot and I'll make money out of it I'll learn here from Payton and Brees and then I'll go make my money elsewhere or brief laugh retired in a take over that job and it worked out brilliantly for right now Janus is broken goods he's a guy that threw thirty interceptions last year got it hasn't won any big games got even Bruce Arians could win with so it's a great deal if James could get it but can she was getting I I'm a little skeptical that Ben Roethlisberger she's walking away in a year and I know you just dealt with this big injury and I know that his draft class colleagues are coming to the end or at the end you lie manning just retired and Philip rivers could be just one more year in Indianapolis signed a one year deal but I don't know you are betting had been regressing for years granted bad football team but regressing for years he was not the same you live band in the last couple of seasons and Philip rivers last year totally threw a billion interceptions it looks like he's at the end last time we saw Ben Roethlisberger on the field which was of course the season of twenty eighteen it was lighting up the sky who's thrown a touchdown to twenty yards you know that was a guy that easily was one of the best passers in football still so okay does he take care of his body like drew Brees or Tom Brady maybe not does it have you taken a lot of abuse over the years of his body yes but unless Ben Roethlisberger nobody's kind of flirted with this idea publicly but he's also backtracked on that end said he plans to play number four seasons if he is getting into the best shape of his life right now which he insists he is there's no reason that Ben Roethlisberger could only play one more year and if you're now going into two years and maybe I'll retire then James can't sign up for the never ending when I going to be there how long ago to be there no that's not even really Gee whiz question that's a Steelers question of whether you want to keep a guide is the heir apparent on the roster if he's gonna be the heir apparent for like two or three seasons I don't arise you might feel differently than me I don't look at Roethlisberger right now put on the same campus delight or Philip rivers I think that until further notice Ben Roethlisberger be starting quarterback in the NFL I do I do I think you're over reading is here two years ago I remember he would sit on the sideline at raider game he couldn't give a proper MRI Ben Roethlisberger's body is breaking down in front of us he gets hurt first week last year he was hurt the year before the body is not going to keep getting healthier especially the sheep that he keeps himself busy keeps up in top notch shape now look could go for a lot of yards yeah a lot of that was George if the catching guys again Tony brown and shoot you the moment James Conner got hurt in that she's in the run game took a tumble I should have been a little fair to Ben Roethlisberger twenty eighteen he led the league in passes attempted passes completed a total yards thrown me through for fifty one a hundred yards I DO not played in all sixteen games I'm not calling him up by many played all sixty but why that raider game you drop that right and then did you have a bye week after that he was hurting me very fortunate by week that year so I'm not trying to rain on this parade but that's now two years ago with a body that keeps getting injured I don't know how you can't suggest at the end of the road is coming when you look at his peers and look at the ages these guys are playing to well the end has a long time a long time the end has income for Brees and Brady at we think he's good a shape as Brees and Brady no and no we don't rob this burger is a former C. injury history than those two we don't bite again I gotta go back to twenty eighteen if I had if I had seen him really be eroding in twenty eighteen that he got injured last year I might feel differently the guy threw for thirty four touchdowns which was a career high he threw for career highs in yards and touchdowns I mean the last time we saw on the field he was arguably at his best of his career while playing with the best receiver in football at the time to look okay but I mean is that unfair to Ben Roethlisberger kick a good wide receivers again he's always drafted develop good wide receivers but I think the expectation of trying to lean on something from now to two years ago knowing that he's probably older fatter coming off an injury and with less talent around him I think you suggest that we don't think the end of the road is near we'll be kind of silly ME father time tells us unless you are Tom Brady or drew Brees that you you really get the feeling even up now to Brady and and breezes point it's starting to look that way a little bit but rob this is not the ship those guys has a forward injuries I would say this I would bet all of my money that Ben Roethlisberger does not this is not his final season upcoming okay but it also wasn't Philip rivers final season I'm not seeing Roethlisberger's going somewhere else okay but that but that also means that if we guarantee is not retiring after this season we guarantee he's playing a twenty twenty one that's at least two more football season so that we're talking about this he retired twenty two after twenty twenty one or two playing with three football seasons I think he's got two seasons Max but I also think there's rock so you think there's a chance he retires after this year I think there's a chance I mean is that in the past that it is also backed off of that you know he did that because he wanted to seize control of that personnel all but if he comes out this year and he is he he looks older he looks slower maybe he gets hurt again it is one of the rehab again I mean I think it's different possible say it's impossible I think you said right and also I I have a hard time thinking Ben Roethlisberger's played sixteen games each of the next two years and that's that's part of this regime is to I mean look with the Steelers have doc Hodges in Mason Rudolph I mean well I I I don't yeah and getting some reps in the meantime we have a quarterback that frankly I think I'd be more expected that he gets banged up misses a game and not I think it's telling well it's Jamie is improving over da Koch's no question me throughout no question that's obvious here playoffs last year if they have Jamison said Dhakad no I agree I agree with that I'm just saying I'm not counting down the minutes until Roethlisberger retires Roethlisberger's ex governor hard headed guy that likes to be Ben Roethlisberger Hugel likes to be the quarterback of the Steelers she's built a career hall of fame career on that he enjoys that he loves that he wants that he needs that you don't last year he's coming off one of his best to to school careers years ever and had he played for sixteen games yes maybe it takes a slight dip because of L. A. B. but he probably would have been to the playoffs with that defense so if Roethlisberger stays healthy last year they're in the playoffs and we're not talking about when's he gonna retire we're talking about well we're the Steelers gonna win the Superbowl now that Tom Brady's gonna the AFC I think the head I think that you're being a little bit too side of this I think he should he will show some the same signs we saw from Brady last year that we had no problem calling out and look I like the U. twelve scoops ice cream in one sitting but it comes a point time where I can't just do what I like anymore he just got chopped up and rob so you're telling the ages caught up to you and eating ice cream well yes yes yes all right I want to hope that your ex on this ten years ago I can go to McDonalds get a ten piece a two quarter pounders and a McFlurry sit down eat it no problem and actually not feel like garbage after if I did that now I'm missing three weeks of the show so the point is whether it's football whether it's eating whether it's whatever your activity is at some point your lifestyle your body you don't no matter what you might like to do you're not going to be able to do those things but rather to like and love to be the face of the Pittsburgh Steelers his body is getting older his body is breaking down his body is getting fatter and its support he's not gonna be able to do the things he likes which is being afraid just correct the Pittsburgh Steelers and that time is coming a lot sooner I think in the picture you're painting well we don't necessarily know if his body is breaking down society had a sieve he had a significant injury last year I mean clearly can't lift his arm up to shave I mean she's so what was the McDonald's meal that you could eat ten years ago and not feel bad two quarter pounders with cheese a ten piece fries and a McFlurry no doubt hi kaha logged out what I wanted done before no doubt a large fry yes I am one of these people in America and your party out there that can not roll up put you know Hyundai Elantra goes around play shorter McDonald.

Browns Make It Official
"We will start with the official news out of Cleveland Scavenge to ban skis hired by the browns. They announce officially on Monday. He's thirty seven. Spent fourteen seasons as an assistant in Minnesota but has never been a head coach at any level level his entire. NFL coaching career. As I mentioned has been with one organization the Minnesota Vikings Stansky took over play calling duties on offense late in the two thousand eighteen season. Minnesota ran the ball. Forty seven percent of the time with Danske asked the play caller. That's the second highest rate in that span trailing only the Baltimore Ravens was introduced at a press conference just a little while ago. I the foremost success starts with people and I know we'll talk a lot about culture but it is absolutely about the people and everybody knows the Harry Truman quote. It's amazing what you can accomplish when no one cares who gets. That's the credit and that's what I believe. We have in our building. We have great people. I know we're going to add to it will hire G. G. M. here in the next week can or two and we're going to add to this culture that that we're building here and we have the right people and again. I can't stress enough. How excited I am the be? Just a part of did you know to use a basketball terms to my dad can understand this. I want to be the point guard for this organization. I want to bring the ball up then I wanNA share the basketball and let so what else get an easy bucket though smiling over there. WE'RE NOT GONNA I'M NOT GONNA speak anything into existence right now I can. I promise you that we're GONNA work. I've already spoken to a few of our players already. And that's what I'm about I'm about working and I'm about putting a foundation together the other. We will be methodical about it. We will not skip. Step two two and three to get to four. We're GONNA start in the foundation and then we're going to reinforce foundation Shen said we can build upon it and when I'm talking about this I'm talking about schemes and technique will be diligent about working with our players so that they can develop into the the best versions of themselves and ultimately we're building a foundation for what we hope is a championship. Effort will have a culture of accountability. We'll have structures is in place the players will understand our rules. And what we're about and we're going to demanding and we're going to hold each player accountable. Because ultimately I know this about players they they May Not come out and ask you for that. But that's what they want. Well perhaps the tenth. TIME IS THE CHARM IN CLEVELAND. Stansky is the tenth full time head coach Wjr. The browns have hired since returning to the League in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine that is the most in the league over that span of the previous nine. None have posted a winning record. Heard and not a single one has lasted more than four seasons continuity and consistency has been a real issue in Cleveland. Victor certainly something they'd like to you see changes to fanciest step in the right direction. In your opinion will I believe he is and I think that consistency where it is important. And right because you put up that list of all the coaches and the coaches that they've they've pretty much funneled through throughout the years can you provide that level of stability that they've been seeking for almost a year in and year out. Can you provide that for their now. The thing I do like about Stansky a fan ski is that he has experience with creating plays for two star receivers and I think that's something that's going to have to translate over to the Cleveland. Browns obviously with Odell Beckham junior junior and Jarvis Landry and having that experience I'm sure enticed of that for an office inside bring him in and understanding that they got to get the best out of these players in the best out of all their play makers obviously nick included In the backfield now is he going to be a leader of men and he is he going to be able to handle. The Eagles and the different personalities is that are in that locker room. Desk the biggest question that still remains to be seen. It's defense gas interviewed with the browns. Before in fact it's believed that he was the first source of politics but Desta several seasons ago and and it didn't work out. Matt you spent time with him as part of that Minnesota Vikings Organization. What can you tell us right? He he was a young quarterback coach at the time. And so when I got there was actually a little bit older than he was which is an interesting dynamic but at the same time. He's been all around that building. You know he's an administrative assistant and when he started there then. He was a quarterback coach. He's I've been with the running backs he's been with the wide receivers so he's been in all the different elements of the offensive side of the ball. He's seen the ups and downs. He's seen how free agency can impact so he's got a great feel feel. He's a great leader. He's got a presence about himself in the other thing that I think that the Cleveland browns are probably drawn to is the simple fact that this is a very quarterback friendly offensive structure that he's presented presented in for a guy like Baker Mayfield that had had his struggles last year. And maybe some confidence issues. Maybe not though. Let's see the press conference the same time. It's a quarterback friendly. There's a lot of play action. There's a lot of movement of the pockets. A Lotta easy throws to be made screen. And then there's like you said that balance forty seven percent percent of the time the run the ball. There's great balance in that offensive structure in for a young quarterback and going into his third year after some struggles. I think this is a great fit for that organization Asian and going back to when they actually made this higher People in Cleveland were telling me that it was actually his run game because we see what he was able to do with Dowling Cook and how he was able to make become a good player to really a great one and he's a central part of that offense that we now see in Minnesota and that was a big part of it but in terms of now Cleveland going forward looking for GM the way it was explained to me is they really want these to head coach and gm to work as one. This is why they moved on. From John Dorsey Percy and Freddie Kitchens. They didn't feel like this was working together. So they're looking for someone who has the same vision and the analytics department obviously is of of crucial part of Cleveland. And what they're looking for a head coach and I think that's why Stefanski became that lead candidate because he's accepting of it. He wants to be part of that and You know I think I saw some reports out there about how Cleveland is demanding that their head coach presents the game plan to ownership and really the way it was explained to me. It's not so much that they want to see the game plan. They just want everyone to be in sync to go over to make sure they're all on the same page headed into the game. Well you can't blame him and and that is something that clearly was not the case. I think you make a great point. It's poor in that somebody come in and be able to work and mold Baker Mayfield but also be able to be the CEO and run this whole organization and have everybody else be accountable. I think Freddie Kitchens might have had one of those two things that went by the wayside outside the quarterback with the hiring in Cleveland. What it does mean? Is that every chair on the head. Coaching carousel is now accounted for. The browns were the fifth and final team to hire a new head coach in the off season. Three of the hires tires Stefanski as we just discussed Joe Judge with the giants and Matt Raw and Carolina our first time. NFL head coaches the other two quite the contrary contrary Mike McCarthy in Dallas Ron Rivera in Washington they will get a second chance or in some cases third or fourth various established. NFL head coaches of of all the five. Who Intrigues you? The most in their new spot intrigues me is Matt Rule. I WanNa see what really transpires here right. He seven years sixty million dollar contract. That's a big commitment big commitment. I mean we might need to think about going into coach. That's it has everything else that they're also saying that they're making a commitment to Cam Newton with the type of style and the offensive structured. That they've set up McCaffrey's there I mean they've got the pieces of the puzzle there now. It's interesting to see how that that offensive structure from college translates to the NFL. which is I mean? There's been guys like chip Kelly in the past right John Harbaugh's price guy. That's been the most successful but that was more of a pro style offense with the most the most recent Kingsbury in Arizona so cliff Kingsbury. Excuse me it's been a mixed bag. There's no question. Let me ask you this just circling back to something you said by hiring Matt rule it you believe this means a commitment to Cam Newton. Can you explain why why I just think that The Baylor and watching their offense of structure and the RPO that takes place that's run pass options and all the different things that they're well versed in and that the Baylor offense has been historically historically very successful with in terms of that offense of structure I just think that that Fits Cam Newton's game very well and so I believe that that's a statement saying look. We wanted to bring somebody in here that you're going to be comfortable in this type of offense of structure and go out and be able to put yourself in a position to have success extent to intrigue you for me. Is Joe Judge my beloved giants. I think well I just think because going into it. Once I saw the Vacancy Happen at the head coaching position I was all right. The giants are GonNa come in here and get either like a Ron Rivera type or even McCarthy and get a guy that will come in and commanding presence. Once he walks into the building and I think with the hiring of Joe Judge just left me like okay I. It felt like the same cycle almost felt like coach mcadoo a couple years ago when you give a guy a shot and bring him in if he can transcend The coaching position or the year. After that when you bring in Pat Shurmur and you try to bring take a chance on another guy. Felt like we're taking another chance on another guy but granted. I must say I loved after the press conference I loved his mannerisms I love. He literally embodied what the New York Giants Football Organization is all about when he stepped up there on that podium Liam so I say that with a grain of salt because I love the press conference and I think he's going to bring something different than the other two coaches did in the past. But I still left me scratching my head in terms of who was out there here in the type of guys that could've came in that building and commanded a present these guys by the way Matt Rule and Gioja Geno. It's not about winning the press coverage but they did rule who was must see TV. I was just watching. He's missing time with the giants. Who so I knew all about? He's got does I think you know obviously recruiting such a big part of being a head coach in college. You don't mean to recruit You know when you're in the NFL. Which is why? I'm an agreement with you. I think that is the most enticing match COPA or at least the situation of the coaches just because you just look at history and making that jump from college the NFL. It's not easy and there just hasn't been a high success rate there. I think obviously he spent a little time with a giant. So it's not like he's
"john harbaugh" Discussed on KNBR The Sports Leader
"Of the best for the absolute best and hopefully we're going to have a fun day of conversation I will love begin with you know and I shared my initial thoughts on yesterday I will say is that the hardball seven gene John Harbaugh the much smarter coach I mean let's be honest John Harbaugh much more accomplished coach but there's a panic gene in the hard balls that exists it's in the DNA it's the eighth it's gotta be it's got to be something in the genetic code if you did twenty three in may because every single year we see it with Jim Harbaugh on he sees Ohio state and honestly they depends undergarments has to have the Michigan uniforms it's not Mazen gold that's actually P. as a P. stands and for for John Harbaugh yesterday to just abandon the run was the most sort of like the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen for a team that it honestly just gotten by running the football the the run being so such a backbone of I believe it was thirty four thirty four pass attempts at halftime or something like that for the for the Baltimore Ravens and your down seven nothing and you're throwing the ball the time you're down fourteen nothing you start throwing the ball two thirds of the time I didn't get it I don't understand it I don't understand abandoning who you are what it's a two score game in your at home in a postseason game and you've got you've got a defense that could create a turnover no they didn't last they didn't really create those moments where you said okay here the defense is going to bail them out but when it was fourteen nothing I said they needed defensive score to win this game Baltimore was over hyped but John Harbaugh did his team no favors and I think he's a marvelous coach I think he's a a fantastic coach one of the if it you know if you talk about like one of the six or seven best in the NFL he's there but to me it's the panic gene if he had gone up seven nothing in that game maybe they don't lose but there was a there was a panic that set in with hardball's last night that was that was just atrocious and Rafael in Vermont knows something about the Pat and Gina the Harbaugh's been a Michigan fan I know all about it we'll put out what you know all that it does say you know is it big games there sometimes if Jim and John Harbaugh had went up seven nothing last night do you think they went I don't know we looked like they were able to win that give you feel we have like if they went off I like what you really okay okay because I don't see Tennessee's often scare anybody no it's not it's not my point my point is I'm all happy because I'm fifty years old okay I'm all happy with him the for the value of M. M. A. C. okay why it seems to me is what one is football because the media was pushing all those the bald guy right there if everyone of this court got that but yes that is but somebody will stadium no have been very pleased that there probably because he was born you will not be lost winning is still up in the problem is you need to read it back what are you going it's a lot better if you close zero for me if well not been swimsuit yeah with the ball yeah what about what time like this hello this is what is supposed to be all it was it was a throwback it was like throwback which is fine with me it's well worthwhile rafaeli I appreciate a man thanks for the call here's what I'd say people might be thrilled of our generation but the millennial crowd may not be maybe they like more of the of the of the high flying passing game a lot more scoring you know so maybe they're more into that of you know maybe it's not as attractive I love the running game I love it when an NFL game is three hours or less I love it when the clock runs when there is too great defense being played and the offense is physical I like a physical offense that was a that was a pretty much incredible their football it was it was a bit of a throwback kinda day football different very very different now what we're used to seeing and two teams that were absolutely dedicated to running the ball consistently and Kyle Shanahan who will talk more about later on the show did did a fantastic job in the second half of managing that clock and realizing that if I play keep away you're not beating me he you're not you're not gonna be able to beat me if I'm playing keep away and you don't have you don't have your hands on the ball you're not able to be me and a lot of coaches don't understand that now caution here didn't understand that when he was the office coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons and he was single handedly helped to blow a Superbowl he didn't understand that at all I like it when somebody learns from their mistakes even though people in Atlanta screaming bloody murder is like don't give the guy any credit at all he's Public Enemy number one look hello Shania blue that Superbowl terribly but so did Matt Ryan and so did Dan Quinn the head coach who is ultimately responsible for that don't don't forget who's responsible for those things the head coach is ultimately responsible and Matt Ryan and then Quinn both were responsible to but Kyle Shanahan is getting a he's getting another opportunity we'll talk more about that coming up a little bit later on those were a this is a fun game so if you if you like football as it was drawn up back in the day where you're going to play defense there's gonna be a physicality to it and the running games are going to be critical to you succeeding or failing you had to like what you saw yesterday I'm not sure that the younger generation likes it as much Justin shackles part of the millennial generation so I'll ask him is that it is do you like seeing a few lights in a game where defense and running the football is sort of a focus are you really might already so you do believe him a graphic if it's that easy that you pick me and so you do believe you're in the minority that I do but I'm I'm weird too I also like pictures tools so why yeah I absolutely do so I'm a huge I am a huge even intertwined I don't I don't know I love that yeah I love I love the like when it's post season baseball and whether they changed the ball this year or not because there are some people who will tell me that they change the baseball in the post season I love a four two three two game where there's a lot of strategy I'll see now you're getting a little too a little too liberal there for me I'm I'm talking about one nothing are you willing one nothing game I love that stuff wow I yeah I need a little fence I need a little more I need a little more than that I need a little more offense than that not if both sides upon their way on the mound I I'll I'll take that sure yeah I mean you know something that has to be though a anomaly to me that has to be like the odd game yeah and I'm I realize I'm again in the minority you know and in that regard because you're not you're not seen too many starters you know go with that length DJs in the you know it's rare that you're gonna see both teams do that but you know it's it's the kind of stuff I root for how was New York manhandling a coaching hire this week with a Joe judge I think it's so it's so funny is that if you asked any giants fan twenty four hours earlier I would be giving you that one out of a hundred may would have maybe would have known who Joe judge was but within five minutes of the higher he was bill Parcells to point out later down Tom Coughlin three point four did you hear that press conference I was intrigued high school rates what a press conference I was intrigued to it I was intrigued to see who he was more like was it going to be more of Bella checking in see beneath they always have been always said I think is more Coughlin ask so I say Coughlin ask he sounded like he sounded like a young Tom Coughlin yeah we'll give it without the red face right the given given the coaches that he served under yes I I he I mean you you heard him say you know of you know where to do this and that okay we're good which is just like the way save he was preparing right he was really prepared for the Prescott he was Hey did it he did very prepared with here's the one thing I can say is that it just is it's so different between my hometown and New York are you a Philadelphia then they might you know in the New York City my my home town is a hike a hundred miles away as the crow flies and the two fan bases could be any different the eagles can see years us talking with.
Ravens run all over Steelers with backups to win 28-10
"We have reached the end of the regular season a twenty nineteen it's on to a new season and a new decade after a bye week for the ravens they now turn their attention to the post season as the top seed the north is not enough for this franchise they have their eyes set on playing in the Super Bowl in Miami in February and ten ninety W. B. A. L. the ravens carry a twelve game winning streak into the AFC divisional round after twenty eight ten dropping of the Steelers Baltimore's first touchdown followed by a fumble by Steelers rookie quarterback Delbert Hodges and that was it twenty eight ten ease your own final so Pittsburgh out and that really happen with the Titans win anyway the ravens are the top seed they get the buy in their head coach John Harbaugh focused on playoff mode the best team in football in the regular season this year no doubt about that but that doesn't count for anything in the next season and the next season we've got to go obviously go to work this week and become a better football team and get ready for whoever opponent isn't a divisional game here so that's what we'll do next but just taking a minute to look back tonight could be more proud of these players twenty more Prodi's coaches were Jordan pleasures we were too into state was made in the locker room that we'll find out what
Ravens clinch AFC North championship
"The ravens clinch the number one seed in the AFC with a thirty one fifteen victory over the Browns Lamar Jackson three TD tosses too to mark Andrews mark Ingram and to leave the game with a strained calf coach John Harbaugh says no structural damage though an MRI
"john harbaugh" Discussed on The Herd with Colin Cowherd
"Everybody worst. I mean, come on save it for after the game. Lease call is different. Auburn Alabama will hate each other forever. But most of the time, I think Mike Tomlin John Harbaugh. Probably both realize they have great jobs. They still have their jobs. They're getting contract extensions there. I don't think it exists in pro sports. I think everybody understands if you're in the NBA or the NFL or major league baseball, you're all winning. So why create you know, the, you know, college has the rivalries pro sports are never rivalries. I tend to agree with you that there are far less rivalries than there used to be. But this was just a dagger in an entire an entire storyline for this entire this week. It's gone hoop gun. I'm cares about that. I'm on business. But thank you for ruining. All right. So Jillian that'll men performed Zuhdi at the patriots veteran in the AFC championship game. And a couple of ways came up clutch in the fourth quarter and overtime after making two pretty big errors earlier in the game. Then afterwards he gave some veteran wisdom to rookie Sony. Michelle had some words from shell about the moment. He was enjoying the pats climbing clinching their Super Bowl ticket. He said, this is cute. We win that next one. That's where the real fun is. That's where you'll always be a champion. This is huge. This is awesome. Don't get me wrong. But the next one let's go basically said simmer down one AFC championship game. That's nice. It's cute. The super rose. Almost like in college. If you win the big ten or if you win the SEC. That's awesome. That's your first step. But if you're a really big boy program and you go get smoked in the bowl game. Then it's a crappy off season. Like you wanna win the final game. Well, it's also I think a big part of the patient's mentality because they've been there so much that this is just another game. Greg Jennings talked about it like what he wasn't. He wasn't nervous in the Super Bowl because you just treat it like another game. If you treat it like the Super Bowl, which your rookie. That's that's hard. Not to do. Then you do get nervous. And you do make mental errors. Whereas if it's just this is just part of your routine. Yes, it's a big game. But every game is a big game. Then you don't get caught up in the in the lights in the in the moment. And all of that, which you know, I think it's hard to do for people for a veteran. Finally, the raiders might be finding some clarity on their quarterback situation. According to Peter King. There's lots of suspicions that they will take a quarterback high. They've got three first round picks and not trade, Derek Carr. So as one personnel guy told me scorn king, the Kansas City model of having a young guy. Learn under a willing veteran.
"john harbaugh" Discussed on The Rich Eisen Show
"But there's no question, you know, and obviously the microphone will be put in front of him on Wednesdays just as is all the time. But there's no reason why there should be some sort of twenty minutes forum in which something always gathers a more bizarre news cycle or more steam because of what he saying in these. Session com- common delta to even years ago. The quote, they're saying I'm not gonna sit up here every week and address bent says on radio show. I just don't see the Steelers checking them on that. I think they see that. As even though it could be distracted. And they see that are not bogus. No winning. I I really think common. Doesn't worry a lot about that stuff. I really don't Jeremy that he can say it, you know. But I I don't think they're going to do anything about Jeremy, thanks for the call. Appreciate it. Anytime you bet thanks again. For for the peace in for the phone call. It's probably over how it's gone wrong with Antonio Brown on the Steelers, and then there's so many other nuggets in here. Meanwhile, meanwhile, the ravens keep John Harbaugh for four years. Great move. Great move. Greg Roman is now the offensive coordinator there. He was Jim's offensive coordinator in the championship and FC championship season with Colin capture, Nick. So here comes Greg Rome and bringing all of that for John Harbaugh and Lamar Jackson were assuming the Browns or in the right direction. The Bengals wants the Rams are done with the Super Bowl. We'll get their new head coach the quarterback coach for the Rams. It's coming in where they're apparently what they what's the term that they use. I saw on Twitter. More, you know, not adequately comfortable but beyond comfortable with the guy. Andy dalton. Dougal the words Dalton and comfortable and see what comes back that. They're going to run it back with Dalton and mix in. And maybe he could maybe sprinkle the McVay fairy dust on top of Andy Dalton and I think it's very comfortable very comfortable with very comfortable. They don't. Nine seven and. Unbelievable Browns win that division next year. Ravens. That defense is no joke pal. By the way, the Steelers missed the playoffs next year. What if they go ahead they're gonna extend Ben extend Thomas say Audio's to Tonio Brown. How to steal the friends like that one? Not going to say well, Tony Brown in the middle of all of this Instagram out a photograph of himself in a forty Niners. Uniform is what one would call on helpful the way Alice wants to get the hell out after his previous post was thank you to everybody. This is not a good bye. It's just a thank you going out of his way civically say, he's not saying goodbye. But one last point on this be careful what you wish for okay, be careful what you wish for can get all rock receiving yards. You want? It is about the rings Niners. And we all know I pointed out the Rams in that plane ride home from that Thursday night. No idea there were thirty six wins away from the Super Bowl, maybe the forty Niners of the same thing. But look how Wentz came back from a knee injury. How that went RG three all the quarterbacks come back from the injuries is Antonio Brown rather. Ready to say goodbye to Pittsburgh and have Nick Mullins throwing the football for the first month of the season next year, potentially. Food for thought phone calls, Mike del tufo, so Lanta weather report. It is just as good as entertainment can get..

None of them have worked not even saving somehow. The dolphins are to save in what the Browns are to Bella check somehow. And so now, these names are not in any way exciting. Nobody cares about these names. The names being thrown around of a bunch of candidates. We don't know. Hey, Dallas's defenses. Good. Let's get that guy. That's his name. Yeah. But not the guy that actually runs the entire defense because that'd be Marinelli. And you don't wanna go down that you've seen that? But so what Dan really believed in them at one point. So that's right because I believe in the mall, they believe he had a press conference in which he just said nonstop the merits of getting low. So he was gonna coach getting lower than the win. So if you get lower that should be a top everybody's priority list. I may be confusing him with mardi morning leg. I'm not sure regardless more and more than offense guy that really wanna make sons. What I wanted to ask. You guys though is it wasn't that long ago. In a previous incarnation of the show that what we would be doing right now. Throughout sports radio is go get John Harbaugh. Not Jim you've got the relationship with John Harbaugh. But how much damage is Harbaugh done to that? How much how much stain has he caused that? If they got him now of last year's because he hasn't done anything in that conference. The dolphins. Could do the Kingsbury thing where they're going to get the guy in college you would've loved to have Harbaugh five years ago, but John Harbaugh didn't make the playoffs again this year with a rookie Cordell when I'm saying Stephen Ross is relationship with Michigan. All that stuff. What I'm saying is is that not the savior higher like wouldn't wouldn't the fan base still get sucked into the savior higher? Instead of these names that you don't know you can't possibly have any kind of opinion on these gas Super Bowl winning head coach the dolphins franchises had difficulty in giving people their opportunity at head coaching for the first time you don't wanna first year head coach anymore. Although the leading candidates are. That would be first time head coaches. Yeah. John Harbaugh would certainly be the most exciting name in that. Jim though, what wait you were saying John was thinking. Yeah. Totally do everything. I was actually going to go down this path. John Harbaugh does the he does not only did he say not Jim is not a Super Bowl winning coach. No, John is just said he was talking about Jim not John said, he's a super. But what was most weird was? He was like not Jim John. He said that the other way. Gone tomato tomato. Yeah. That's more like tomato potato interest. Got the last name, right. At least. Yes. Just went Harbaugh. I was I was falling down the path because John Harbaugh very accountable and press conference is the opposite of gays like I'm with you should get John how confused where you when I was like he took a rookie quarterback to the playoffs shifts now, and you're like. It's weird. So who do you want? John. Maybe they can be like a co head coach. That both of inspired that isn't fired gonna show you how to do it by paying extra double extra to grab both Harbaugh's the entire Harbaugh family. Let him work together. The oldest hardball. The day. That's. That's that's playing chess everyone else's played checkers. Are you guys? Sure. That I was talking about John. Yeah. Where's your only? And I was like what about Jimmy? You're like, I'm not talking about Jim. Josh, john. That. Sean Harbaugh was the only thing that was missing from that. Of..

"Both. Would it be machine? Would it? Take us to the championship game that year. I mean, I could probably do this all day. Phone lines are lighting up. The meantime, let's go to David in Richmond Virginia here on the rich Eisen show. What's up, David? Hey, rich of call several times one way not remember. But I'm a lifelong Lammi dolphin fan. Okay. And obviously we've gone from the act to mediocrity to mediocrity. My question is they fired gays, and I'm not saying he was be all end all, but it seems like we keep making decisions that there's no backup plan. Let's go ahead. And we go, you know, obviously, it's the coaches problem with my coaches problem. But who's who you're gonna get next? They get rid of tannehill. Who do you get now? Let me ask you this question. David this question, if the ravens say two first rounders for John Harbaugh when you know one of those first rounders could be tanked hard enough for two. Would you say yes to that? Yes. Really? Yeah. I would I'd get John Harbaugh Harbaugh in there on job. John Harbaugh would be I think we got new gen general manager Greer. I think it's gonna if only listen to him and keep his mouth shut. And just what everybody else I just we've got to get better. And in the thing is the one thing I'll say is ever since case got there three years ago. If you look online everyone's hammering gates 'cause they wanted the Super Bowl tomorrow morning. Well, they didn't get in three years Gates's gone tannehill. I don't think the answer. And I think it's gonna be another. It's going to be five years. So we can get close to the promised land. We gotta get someone who can get us there. And have a point. I think we're going to do it next year. David, thanks for the call. I don't know, man. This is really gonna be fascinating to me is to see how teams approach. The fact that it looks like to generational talents are coming through the collegiate system at the quarterback position. I know people down onto now 'cause you know, these against Georgia cincy by we saw just recent reasons he buys, he's terrific. And you wanna talk about what the twenty first century type of NFL game is right now he throws a beautiful ball. He's got the same style. He's a left-handed. Russell wilson. Who's she you know, and he's got an accuracy. That is on canny, and he's got a he's really terrific. And then there's that kid from Clemson really opened a ton of eyeballs nationally on Monday night. What do you do can't you tank for two years, though, you just can't you can't? But you can't for one. And what what I mean by that? Is you you clear out right to get rid of some high salaries, but you don't tank for these guys and trade a number one of future considerations for coach right now. Right. That's why I put it in that way for because you need. Look Brady's going. At some point at some point. Okay. You're already concerned about his returns being diminished right now going into this playoff game against Philip rivers little bit at some point. Somebody. I mean, that's why the jets are terrifically positioned in. Hopefully, the bills might be with Josh Allen. Is you got your guy for the next ten years at the position? I know I think people believe that about darnold. I think there are still some that need to see a little bit more from Alan than just his legs. Okay. But he gave you spark. Right. So you're going to have to have some the dolphins. Don't have that quarterback needed to the patriots. Either pal. Now, I'm already seen what the Trevor Lawrence is their answer. After Brady they're not gonna come anywhere near him. They're not gonna get anywhere close to travel orange by twenty twenty one. I would like to see what they do in building draft capital in the next two seasons. Run back with Brady next year, totally fine. And then let's maybe go four and twelve and twenty twenty and then travel, we'll treat you're never gonna go to..
"john harbaugh" Discussed on The Bill Barnwell Show
"They have a lot of time to develop him. And I think that they should run it back next year with the same defense and with the Marge accident quarterback and John Harbaugh who seems close to signing an extension as their head coach for the foreseeable future. Yeah. I I was I think the ravens you would be. I mean, I get John Harbaugh guy back to the playoffs after extended period of time away. This is a good football team. That has you know found a quarterback has found something that can work in terms of the running game has some younger pieces there. I think it'd be crazy to try and find a better coach than John Harvey. I just don't think it's out there on the market, especially if you're competing with the Packers and and the Browns, although look it's still entirely possible that the ravens would not want to give John Harbaugh what he wants which is a lot of guaranteed money, multiple years of of security a lot of control in the personnel office, and he could end up being traded. I mean, I think a lot is on the table with the ravens, but I think John Harbaugh made it clear by sticking with the March action that he doesn't want to continue to be Baltimore. This is obviously a period of transition as Newsom is now retired after that playoff loss when we are pasta taking over in Baltimore, and he's granted it's been in the organization forever net. Medicine don't make much would change at all. But who knows I mean, they're certainly more uncertainty surrounding the ravens, and there's been any point probably in the last decade comes to their quarterback their head coach and general manager. So let's finish appear talk about Colt. Texans a game that I think was how can I put this in the first half of this game, the cultural twenty nothing and they were the better team. I think the game was closer in the first half. Then the numbers seem to suggest because the colts were moving the ball reasonably okay, they were converting every single third down in second half when they stopped running all the third downs. Stop scoring that shutdown problem for the Texans was even though they had the opportunity to make big plays. They missed onto many of their big play opportunities. They had a pass to somebody who Vincent Smith who. I didn't know is an actual person until he us unable to bring in a bomb from Shawn Watson we saw the Texans. Make a lot of mental mistakes ill-timed penalties. Their running game on effective side of Shawn Watson taking over the second half. Lots didn't have a great game himself under Hopkins was injured shaving cloudy went down injured for a stretch during this game. It wasn't. It was really sloppy performance. But I thought it was closer than twenty one seven seems to indicate protections could've won this game. If they had been a little better on third down defense earlier in the game. They just hit some of their big plays on offense that were there. I mean watching missed Ryan Griffin for big second have so many player. I think if they hit one or two of those places an entirely different game for the Texan. Yeah. I think to what the colts did by coming out. And look you got a credit Frank, right? We've seen this from other guys who are fall under the umbrella of the Andy Reid. I don't think it's a it's like a weeping willow at this point spread so wide with its. Tentacles if you will. But this early game scripting, right? I mean, he had he had the colts Andrew luck setup. In in great position, the culture turn into this. Physical running team Marla max averaging one hundred ten yards and five yards per carryovers last four games three of the regular season. One of the playoffs. You know? This is a team that is there. I feel like they are the perception the perception of the colts skewed by our belief that Indianapolis is by nature a soft football team. Sort of thinking this all year. Right. Like, they're tougher than we give them credit for and and they. Yeah. I mean, I yeah. I guess it could have been closer. It just never felt like it was gonna be close..

"Eagles and wild card weekend and the NFL it's still colts Twenty-one Jonathan Texans zero nine zero one left to go in the third quarter to Shawn Watson is just three of seven today targeting de'andre Hopkins. How about that three of seven? Nothing's going right for the Texans as far as their passing game. And the colts are just running away with this again up twenty one thing they have the ball after forcing another out by the Texans on offense in many ways is that not the ballgame. Would you just capsulize right there? I mean, the Andre Hopkins is a deep threat for Houston. Normally offensively for Shawn Watson and four twenty. Four four sections good for twenty four yards. It's just not good enough now. And you know, what these two just don't have a lot of chemistry because of Sean Watson's injury last year. They haven't really had these big games this season. And they've had a bunch of games like this where they've had completion percentage is under forty percent. So it's very discouraging here. Again, if the Texans are going to do something Jonathan they gotta make a play. They gotta take away. They gotta defensive touchdown special teams score big plan offense, something has to happen. Because all the culture doing right now is completing passes with Andrew luck and milk and more time off the clock. Exactly. What's happened? We'll keep our eyes in this ball game as developments warrant and all the developments going to Indianapolis his way right now. Absolutely mentioned before ravens. And chargers talk about two teams. You didn't think would be here on wild card weekend expectations were not high for either group. I don't think coming into this year. I was a Baltimore last year. They. Loss to the bears. Okay. The John FOX bears. Not the Matt Nagy bears. The good bears the bad bears under John FOX. And it looked like that was an organization that was headed towards house cleaning they righted the ship latter run at the end of last year. Just missed the playoffs. I believe and now with Lamar Jackson as their quarterback they go into the playoffs and a pretty nice out wave of momentum. Here a couple of things before we get to the game. Let's talk about this aspect of the ravens, which I'm still I still don't have an understanding of now. The ravens put the statement out there before their last game. I think it was the last game or two games ago that John Harbaugh was coming back to the head coach and they were working on a contract extension for John Harbaugh. Now, of course, this was an interesting season for the ravens because they had to make the change and having Lamar Jackson's a quarterback, I really change their fortunes for them to be a playoff team in this position right now. I'm just wondering whether or not the ravens will walk this back if the ravens fall short against the chargers now, don't expect the ravens lose, but anything can happen. It's the playoffs. So I'm I'm just think from an organizational standpoint, it's a head scratcher for me because yes, you want to be able to that locker room. You don't want the players think. Well, maybe there I'm playing for a lame duck coach, but the same time if I'm the ravens I would have waited to this point maybe or maybe after the season to say, okay, John we're going to give you a contract extension. I just think that that was putting the cart before the horse in some ways, I think that was done because there was a lot of reported interest in John Harbaugh that he was a guy that teams with head coach openings wanted to contact and talk with them about maybe working something out. I that was sort of a preemptive strike. He's made the playoffs seven times. I mean, he's not Bill O'Brien. I probably got a little too motion about Bill O'Brien's resume Houston. Okay. He has made the play. Playoffs three out of five years. But you know, John Harbaugh won a Super Bowl. And this is a good team. I think the first question of ownership Jonathan honestly that I ask myself when it comes to my head coach when I had got a young quarterback last pick in the first round the Mark Jackson who I think's going to be the future. Here. I ask myself is the infrastructure around my young quarterback. The right infrastructure for him to succeed. In based on what I've seen from a very small sample size this year with Jackson and the ravens winches. The answer is looking like, yes. Like, they know what they're doing here with this young guy. Sorta Marc Trestman lead ravens anymore on offense. Yeah. I understand the pie. I guess. I guess for me instead of just giving you the heartache than Lamar Jackson is genuine article. I wanna see obviously what he does in the playoffs in his first opportunity to in the playoffs. But also like to see him for a full complement of games. Because if Joe flacco is not gonna have any more stars. Or if he has no future with the ravens. And it is Lamar Jackson job. I like to see what that looks like. And I think that's only fair for me to wait and see on that. Yes. He has momentum. Because the ravens played well then the playoffs, but I'd like to see how defense is key in on Lamar Jackson. If there's going to be adjustment is our learning curve in his sophomore year in the NFL. I think that's a good question is Harbaugh the right guy for this. I don't know. I don't know. But I I'd like to see I mean, you would you know, John Harbaugh is not old. I mean, he's been a head coach for a long time is in his mid fifties. I don't think he has an outdated view of the game. You might run into that promise some other older head coach is, but I don't think he's there. There. They they just want just won another division title. Maybe like. He's got to get with the times. Let's get a little now that posted on offense and working so well, they're in the big games at Michigan. You know, John Harbaugh has ten postseason wins over one hundred regular season wins. I just don't know who you replace them with who's better right now. And I don't mean I don't think John Harbaugh is is bottomed out. They've had one bad year like really bad year, and that was two thousand fifteen and they've slowly rebuilt things. Now, they have their quarterback for the future. They won their division and they're in the playoffs. So I I wouldn't be I wouldn't be quick to to bounce out of town. But I think they did that statement because there were teams that we're going to express a lot of interest in him. If the ravens didn't put that public statement out there. See I think that you nailed it right there. And that's something that the Bengals should have learned longtime ago. It's probably what the Browns should've should've learned long time ago as well. If you can't if there's no one as the tip of your tongue net, you could say I can put in this coach to replace John Harbaugh and be extremely better. I could be a Super Bowl. Utilizes coach hire this guy. If you can't come up with that name right away. Then you might as well stick with a guy that has given you that success in John Harbaugh. So I think that that in lies what you're saying. That's the answer right there. John Harbaugh is would it be a coveted coach in college or the pros? So why not keep him? That's a risky move to fire a head coach that wins ten games. It's happened. It happens actually more times than you would believe it would happen sometimes sometimes it works. Sometimes you get rid of a Tony dungee and you're bringing Jon Gruden and you got a Super Bowl championship. But oftentimes you'll fight fire Marty Schottenheimer things don't get better if fire lovey Smith tanks. Get way worse. So I'm just saying like be careful because if you fight look they fired Jim Caldwell in Detroit last year. He went nine and seven and they replaced him with whatever that was this year home at Patricia lines way, backwards whatever that was. Ever that was that's pretty good your posture. Whatever that was Mr. punctuality wherever that was that guy. That they'll they'll realize what that is. Maybe if they'll know this year, they will know next year because the lions just continue to be a team that's gonna underachieve for a while a lot of it is personnel. But also leadership is well, they'll figure that out. I think in very short order, but as far as the game's concerned, Baltimore's a two and a half point favorite the over and under his forty two for this game. Again, another game. Similar to douse Seattle in Iran. Jeff, very very thin, very tight lines here. But they thinks that Baltimore's a two and a half point favorite. I will say this. We were talking about Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson has has been really a lightning rod for this ravens team because he brings that element of running the football. And by the way, is so uncommon in today's NFL that you can have a number of teams that can run the football. Well, you know in this contest with Dallas and Seattle. You have a. Zeke Elliot who is a terrific running back. But then you have Seattle. That's a terrific running team. So running the football still matters. And I think that from the radio standpoint, they have someone in Lamar Jackson that can be able to get done that only in the air, but also utilizing his feet. So I think that his educated feet has been able to help the ravens get to this point looking forward to that game, Los Angeles and Baltimore tomorrow. Then it's bears. Eagles still twenty one. Nothing colts over the Texans. Third quarter. Some injury updates from Houston. Justin Reed is out with a rib injury. And mike. Mitchell was helped off the field with a leg injury. We'll keep you posted who will raise the trophy. Find out Monday night. The college football playoff national championship, presented by AT and T. Coverage begins at six thirty PM eastern on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. I want to get back to Jonathan's list the list of NFL coaching vacancies. Yeah. Potential candidates Dirk cutters. Still on that list. Speaks during the time out here. That's next hood ESPN radio speaks. Hey,.
All 12 playoff coaches are tied to Bill Walsh or Parcells
"The head coaches in the playoffs that season come from the coaching. Trees of other Bill Walsh for Bill Parcells Abella check. Anthony Lynn, Sean Payton. All coached under Parcells Jason Garrett and Bill O'Brien are further down the Parcells coaching tape. But they all come from the Bill Parcells coaching tree. And that means the other seven come from the Bill Walsh coaching tree. Andy Reid coached under Mike Holmgren was Walsh disciple. Four others come directly from Andy. That's John Harbaugh. Matt Nagy Doug Peterson and Frank Reich. So as we prepare to watch these games this weekend and throughout these playoffs. There is still the influence of those two legendary preeminent coaches of the eighties. If you will in Walsh and parcels what what thoughts Trump to your mind? When you see that? Look, I know that Bill walls is someone who is highly highly respected by guys like parcels end by guys like Bill Belichick. He's at the very very top of this whole thing. And they as far as situational football's concern, and as far as really just being able to build an entire football federation. He's set the standard everyone else is trying to follow now. And now is it is pretty cool though to watch kinda how bills people have done how Andy Reed's people were doing. I mean, it's it's really neat. Because really there's only so many things you can do in full. There's only so many formations you can come up with and so many defenses you can run then it just comes down to good play styles. Make fights right and Walsh that the west coast against the smashmouth run the ball in play defense style of ourselves. And if you look at it that still holds true today. Most of the Andy Reid disciples over there. Bill walsh. They're going to get the ball out. Quick. Quick eater intermediate passing game highly rhythmic west coast offense. Then you look at the Bill Parcells disciple disciples, we're going to run the football player action shots down the field and had this big physical defenses that try to beat you up and want to make this game playing the phone booth. You've heard me say this on this show that if the guys that are really good the great coaches right now, and the guys that are going to continue to be one of those eight teams looking for aid coach on finding the guy. That's the more Steelers. Parting ways with linebackers coach Joey porter lions jam. Bob quinn. Standing by quarterback Matthew Stafford despite a disappointing has campaign, Patrick Mahomes. "I would almost say that they at least to interview somebody's other candidate not just hire. Mike McCarthy out of the gate does John Harbaugh coach the Baltimore Ravens in two thousand nineteen. And secondarily does he sign an extension beyond two thousand nineteen this off season. Can I get everyone behind the scenes a little bit? So last Friday, we're we're recording this on a Monday. We did a production meeting. Mike Theriault Kurt Warner the producer Mark title myself with the Baltimore Ravens coaches in their quarterback. Lamar Jackson prior to the chargers ravens game. Let me give you the little time on here at one PM Pacific, which is four PM eastern. We met with coach John Harbaugh. Did he was fired up for the game? And he said, hey, my future. We don't know what's going to happen moving forward. But you better believe at these guys are focused on this game against the LA. Chargers. We're gonna get it done and all this stuff and literally two hours. Later. Peter a press release goes out that says we are bringing back John Harbaugh, and he is working on an extension right now. I can tell you not saying, I I don't you know, that I have the ultimate BS detector. I can tell you John Harbaugh at one PM Pacific the day that the press release went out three hours later was not under the impression that press release was going out. I feel like they might have been working on something. They might have like that one. He would have been pretty honest and saying, hey, we're gonna work out something we're gonna make it work. So in that first goes out, I think it defuses the bomb in the locker room, it kinda takes it out of the media. And the Baltimore Sun where everyone was calling for Harbaugh header this year, and let's focus on twenty eighteen. But what you're asking me is a very valid question. Does that if a surly mean that he's gonna be back next year because guess what he might ask for a crazy extension? He might say to the raven. The only way I'm going to stay here and do all this again extend this after his great run is ten to thirteen million dollars a year, and it might not work out. And then harbach and go and explore the thing. So I can't give you a hundred percent confidence that he's coming back. We'll tell you this. He is having a blast with this new. Lamar Jackson offense seven blasted his Ethan. This is football. It seems like it's the kinda he's got the Pm and they leave him. But it'll be very interesting because unlike McCarthy or unlike an Adam gates, which was the report that everyone was lining up. I do believe there will be three to four teams. I would say without even an interview we want John Harbaugh derby. Well, but but the question is the question is let's just say for the sake of argument that the ravens go on a little bit of a run here. Let's say they men a couple of playoff games. And let's say they're still playing in two weeks. When all of these other teams want to be hiring a coach do they do do. They slow pedal. The whatever that is slow something great. Did you can't really it's called tampering you guys employed somewhere you can reach out to him..

"That is exactly what he should make. He shouldn't make ten. That's what Sabin makes. Let me talk about John Harbaugh for a second. John Harbaugh's name is everywhere. How's that possible? If I told you there was a coach who had a quarterback who started in week eleven went six and one and I was going to host a playoff game. You didn't John Harbaugh? Never want to leave that job. Why is John Harbaugh's name everywhere because John Harbaugh is allowing his name to be everywhere if John Harbaugh thought this Lamar Jackson thing was ten years sustainable. He would call his agent and say take my name out of these jobs. The reason John Harbaugh's name is out there is because John Harbaugh privately has seen this sort of offense work briefly with his brother, Jim Jim got Colin Kaepernick ran around beat the Packers beat Aaron Rodgers got to a Super Bowl and then never developed as a pocket quarterback because it wasn't. His thing wasn't is game in Jim Harbaugh. Got fired John Harbaugh. Brother has lived the life. He's living. So when you see John Harbaugh's name up, and it's up to morning for six jobs is because what he's selling and what they're selling in Baltimore to the public is. We are all in the reality is they're saying can we win like this for seven years? Now, we can win like this Lamar might get hurt. So my little harbor update. Jim is exactly paid based on leverage. Based on the fact that if USC was looking for a coach today the fans would ask for Harbaugh the fans would want Harbaugh. The Packers won the Browns won the jets. Want him? You're paid what your leverage is Harbaugh is singularly uniquely leveraged. In college football right now, he can get the best college jobs. He can get the bus pro jobs. He's paid exactly what he should pay for his leverage, and John Harbaugh's name is out there because deep down he has questions about sustainability because he saw what his brother went through with highly talented running quarterback who never quite developed into the kind of quarterback you could trust thirty five times a game we need to bring on wide receiver, Greg Jennings. Joining us on the show today. So let's go. Let's go psychology. Here. You were an overachiever. You didn't get a high state. You didn't go to Michigan. You went to western Michigan university. So you would think Antonio Brown? Oh town town Neo Brown. Didn't go to USC Antonio Brown and go to Texas. So we have a history in the NFL when a quarterback gets overlooked a little they come in with a chip, and they overachieved. Yes. That's the that's the ruled quarterbacks almost Peyton Manning's the only quarterback last twenty years who came in as the best high school to the best college guy and. Overachieved in the NFL generally that chip on the shoulder too, hard sport. So you are the classic. You were very good. But you had a little chip big dogs. Didn't give you scholarship ended up being a great player. It should be that way with Antonio bracket. I don't even know where to go to school like central central Michigan. And I thought he was that guy is it the money 'cause this is his third tantrum. What tell me what's going on with it? When you listen to former teammates who've play with them in their reports on stories that has transpired you give them money. He's going to change. Ryan Clark, good friend. He said that over on ESPN. Did he did he said you give Tonio on it? He did before he got his big deal when they were gonna pay Mike Wallace. And they said they weren't gonna pay Mike Wallace. They let Mike Wallace walk K. And they knew he knew Antonio Brown was up. He knew that they were gonna pay him. He said you give this kid money. He's going to be a problem. Wow. He said that very same. Day they get into a spat. He gets into it with dick lebeau in Ryan Clark. Now, he's very sharp. Great player for the Steelers where longtime understood what they were getting into an as players. This is what this is your number one fear when you can identify one of your teammates, who, you know, as great of a talent at as they may be and if we give them so you know, what to oh, yeah. You know, as a team mate, you know, what is it? It's it's that guy who who constantly is kind of on himself feels himself. I'll give you a great example..

Jim is exactly paid based on leverage. Based on the fact that if USC was looking for a coach today the fans would ask for Harbaugh the fans would want Harbaugh. The Packers wanted the Browns won the jets. Want him? You're paid what your leverage is Harbaugh is singularly uniquely leveraged in college football right now, he can get the best college jobs. He can get the best pro jobs. He's paid exactly what he should pay for his leverage, and John Harbaugh's name is out there because deep down he has questions about sustainability because he saw what his brother went through with a highly talented running quarterback who never quite developed into the kind of quarterback you could trust thirty five times a game joy with news. Turn on the news. This is the headline news. So you asked anyone from Cleveland or really anyone who has a television and watch football. They'd probably a little step to about. Hugh Jackson getting an NFL head coaching job Jenner future. He went three thirty six and one in the three years was the Browns. The Browns went five and three with the same team that he had after he was fired. Yes, he also has the second worst winning percentage in NFL history with coaches with at least forty games, but Marvin Lewis who was recently fired from Cincinnati thinks you could make his coaching return as early as next season. Here's why. More than qualified. I think he's been in a couple of difficult situations, and you know, and that's tough and hasn't broke his way. But I think he's a big excellent football coach, he's a great, motivator and. You know, he's detailed. And and so I think he you know, he deserves an opportunity if not here somewhere else. Okay. This is what I've been told today. This is what I've been told by somebody. I trust the Bengals want to hire Hugh Jackson. But the owner is concerned about the feedback from fans and the media as being. But what I am told by somebody I trust. But Cincinnati Bengals want to hire. Hugh jackson. They just don't like the pushback, they're gonna get love. It doesn't matter to me. Really? Who this? This is ninety mangles hires their head coach because because ain't beaten Baker Mayfield. No. I mean, I look I I like Marvin Lewis I get moving on from Marvin Lewis had more than enough time to do what he needs to do their three thirty six and one is very bad coaching record. That's not great now. I get it Cleveland's been very dysfunctional. According to Hugh Jackson. He was he was overruled on picking some pretty talented players quarterback position. Which had I don't know sixty in the last ten year. Isn't this the interesting story though? So if Hugh Jackson gets this job who just taunted you Jackson. Oh a team. He plays twice a year. I'm gonna tell you Baker Mayfield be very careful who you taught in this league because Jackson's going to get that job and for Ben and he's going to tell his defensive players you hit a little late..
"john harbaugh" Discussed on The Herd with Colin Cowherd
"Shelvin sports New Year's resolutions. Next hour Mark Schleyer with next hour, Greg Jennings and five minutes. So I want to talk about the Harbaugh family for a second Jim Harbaugh and John Harbaugh, and it starts with this Lincoln Riley is the hot coach this year. And the story came out. This more Lincoln Riley doesn't want to coach in the NFL. Tweet Lincoln Riley contract extension, Oklahoma. So now, we have eight NFL openings and exactly two coaches that if they got one of those openings all fan bases would be excited Mike McCarthy and Jim Harbaugh if Jim Harbaugh got any of these eight jobs Packers debts dolphins cardinals bugs Brown's Broncos. Bengals that fan base ticket sales would increase, but all I hear about Jim Harbaugh. Oh my God. That guys over rated. He's winning nine and a half a year at Michigan, by the way, he rebuilt it for the first three years legendary Boesch mbacke in the seventies. Sixties one nine point two year fewer games, and it should be noted. That's in an era when there was far less competition in Michigan was one of about eight programs that had any money now. Everybody's got money, especially the southern football powers gyms winning more games on average in a tougher environment. Scholarship. Limitations voted in face that nine point five nine point two. And he is also along with Mike McCarthy, in fact, even more so than Mike McCarthy, the only coach it's basic economic supply and demand that if he got one of the eight coaching jobs any of the eight ticket sales would increase if you think Jim Harbaugh got a job at Cleveland tomorrow. You don't think Brown fans would go nuts? They go. They went nuts for finishing in third place. This year. Cleveland fans went nuts for finishing in third. You don't think Harbaugh with Baker that town would go crazy, folks? Do you know how economics work supply and demand? Jim makes seven million a year. Nick Sabin makes too close to ten. That's about right. Nick wins about three more games. A year a million win. He's paid. He's paid based on leverage. There are no great candidates. Jim Harbaugh is one if not the only candidate college or pro that is a reasonable candidate that if he got the job ticket sales would explode. That's how the game works. You are worth what your leverage is Lincoln Riley is taken himself out of their jobs who's available who would get people excited. You don't think you don't think jet fans would like Harbaugh. You don't think Packer fans would like him? You don't think Brown fans would like him? This is our economic work. He's making seven million at Michigan for his leverage..
