"Leflore wondering like what are they doing taking edgy dylan. Around number two. It just kind of struck me watching. Aaron jones that in the passing game. I'm like you know what he looks. Like alvin kamara out there. So i thought okay maybe they wanna like a one to pocket ingram camera and i think that's i think that's good. I think that's what they're doing in In green bay. I i like it i think. Aj dylan is really intriguing. Again non pbr. You're look great Pr though is upside is capped. You know what's interesting. I remember being talking to the new orleans coaches on the field before the game. The game they were getting mark ingram back from suspension. Remember what it was suspended for. But he was suspended or heard or something right. Yeah mark ingram couple of years ago and they were so happy because they were so scared of overusing chimaera. Chimaera getting hurt. When ingram wasn't there they liked to use chimera on third down. They let us compare in the passing game and they were almost like nervous every game without ingram it was. They were nervous. Kamera wasn't gonna be able to hold up. You're gonna get hurt. They were so happy when ingram was coming back. I feel like that's probably where the packers are where it's like. They know how good jones's they don't want to overuse them. They wanted to critical passing plays and they wanted to be fresh in january totally and we have seen that he has been fresh in january so my numbers for him were almost exactly the same as last year. Two hundred and five carries for nine hundred ninety five rushing yards but again that sixty sixty one grabs so yeah two hundred and sixty touches actually even projected a missing two games which he did so. Apparently i'm the aaron jones i got. I got this a lockdown right now all right so wide receivers. We talked about corey. Davis galore at of these other moves. Gimme one that you feel strongly about either positively or negatively. Aj green arizona. Marvin jones jacksonville emmanuel sanders buffalo. The bourne identity new england juju back in pittsburgh did not see that one coming will fuller with tua in miami. You talked about samuel already. John brown with the raiders. Josh reynolds sneaky. And sean jackson going back back to kelly kelly keeling and where the jets yes. Here's a fantasy passed. By the way. I lo- i told you about keelan cole. And four years ago he was undrafted piece of whatever from some score. Can't remember this guy's good this guy. I don't know why they don't give him the ball more. I think he separates against man coverage. Better.

"The here now so I I hear you though with Derek I've never been a Henry Guy I was okay with them last year I years I thought he was being grossly overvalued and we saw it in the AFC championship Game My. Biggest problem with him is if behind then he potentially is not on the field, but back to McCaffrey and Barclay. I actually was with you the whole way until I actually did that projection because I default the PR and when I plugged numbers I just had to keep McCaffrey at one and it's a collaborative effort to add at fantasy points but. This time last year I said that McCaffrey's twenty three years old with two full seasons in the books. So he's got a lot of experience under his belt and he's only twenty three. So my prediction was this will be twenty nineteen the greatest season that McCaffrey ever has and I still believe that to be the case and I totally agree with you saquon Barkley is the. Exact same guy this year honestly almost hoping if I'm going to get a top pick I, almost want it to be too I don't WanNa make that I don't want to have to make that decision because I'm feeling I'm feeling Barclay having a monster year. The thing is again, I can't give him a hundred catches liking give. McCaffrey. McCaffrey still does win in the in the projection. It's going to be fascinating and I was so happy that McCaffrey got that contract because when I actually go into the numbers. I mean. They were running him into the ground last year you better get compensated for that. Speaking of compensating, you need to make sure you have fantasy points. It's huge I mean I you guys have to have is nobody has a bigger staff had like ten guys on staff. Subscribe. Otherwise. You're going to be in the poor house. With that many owners that many that many mouth. Right, that's right because I made these guys are all part owners and fully invested..

"If they have any concerns whatsoever anytime in the off season, how how do you? How do you know take care of those concerns, reps, reps, reps, and boy I dunno Peyton manning he'd be in trouble right now in this year I I don't know I think talk could probably do it probably be able to slow off the market but paid Mac you imagine paid manning going into a season with the minimal wraps that these quarterbacks are getting with their receivers that would be good for pay. So when the season comes around Guru I'm a big draftkings. Best Guy I. Just it's Fun Yellow You pick your lineup boom you said it for who you think is going to have a good week that week I'd like to try to find value you. Now I've heard from people you want to try to get somebody that nobody else has and you put them in and. Hit it big and you went I. Get it. What my question is specifically as relates A. DFS during the season is I always felt like. At draftkings that they would actually like I feel like I had an advantage especially the early weeks 'cause I watched the crap out of the preseason. Through the preseason I lo- I did tell I did to. What it is like I know it's not the starters I know it like I get season ticket fan but like take it for what it is. You know like. Watch it or don't I don't care I like watching guys competing for jobs and it is by far. The best..

"We want to focus a little bit more on you know security in terms of handcuffing are running backs. For example, we are relying more on. So I incorporate that, you know you also really helps I think to have a great knowledge base going into twenty twenty, just a general knowledge base and you know this is all I've done here for twenty plus years. So you know knowing about trans with coaches in terms of, are they hesitant to play younger players things like that you know what are their? What are there? Things that they that set them apart like for example, Jay Gruden in Jacksonville I duNNo. If everyone realizes that that Leonard Fournette is not catching eighty plus balls this year because he likes to use a pass catching specialists, you know personnel groupings, An- offensive identities and things like that. You know this is the deep knowledge base that I have and other experts have and it's going to be needed more than ever like the rams you don't know exactly about their personnel. Groupings, we do know that Cooper cups targets and production was down last year when they went more to twelve personnel. So I am Not Against Cup always love cop but I like robber woods a lot more I think his role is you know pretty static there. You know you have good filter Ross for listening and ignoring at times coachspeak and and things like that. You know if I Frank Reich talking up Marlin one more time I. Think my head my explode. If you love Marlin maximum much wide. You guys move up in the second round get stunned and Jonathan Taylor so. And Bruce Arians Saga Ronald Jones okay. So why did you use a third round pick on keyshawn Vaughan things like that? You want to lean more toward the twenty nineteen tape Ross, your college football guy you know there's going to be a lot of guys likely entering the draft who didn't play in twenty twenty we're going to do while we're going to go back to the twenty nineteen eight..

We are once again and second time in the last three or four months. In the presence of greatness. Similarly whiz on Seinfeld he is the guru you are not the original fantasy guru himself Jon Hansen. A legend is amongst us. Hello, John? Hello, Ross. Now see now you're starting out, you're you're forcing made a drop here but. Did meet Larry. David at the curb, your enthusiasm party and I was. A Premiere Party a couple of years ago and I was introduced to them by Jeff Schaffer the guy who created the league and he was like, Larry. This. Is the guru and. The Guru and Larry just fyi I I. Do not require people to call me guru like the Maestro and and he got a laugh then got another laugh out of them. Then I tried for a third laugh in a row and and I fell down the stairs without one but good to be here and chopping it up with you. I was just in the the I've never done this this broadcast media thing you have your was just backstage actually as you were on there by yourself. So that was pretty awesome. Your Green Room rose's phenomenal I. I really enjoyed the pineapple. Out there. So thank you. See. This is why the guru is a legend. He's the most knowledgeable guy and he's hilarious. You can check him out on twitter at fantasy underscore guru. So fantasy questions but no offense. But how are you invited to the curb your enthusiasm premier? Well Jeff Schaffer is Larry. David's right hand man now. So that's the guy who created the series, the League on Fx, and he was just like a big fan of mine and he reached out to me a decade ago it started with He wanted to use my cover of the magazine. He wanted to use the magazine in the show and he wanted permission permission, hell. Yeah. So one of the very first scenes of the league ever was the character Kevin Sitting on the can reading my magazine which I felt was the ultimate compliment and then our relationship grew, and then he wrote me into an episode and I was Nice enough to include our guy at Kaplan so. Me and Adam Clap Kappler on that episode season two. So now that show is up and now he's like again Larry David's guy he directs most of the episodes of curb and Again, he's a good friend of mine. He knows I'm a big Fan. It was in New York and so he invited my wife and I saw it was awesome. We were up there just basically rubbing elbows with a bunch of labs that is amazing and look I. "No no this is one of the worst tight end groups. I've seen in quite some time. It's not even all that exciting for the long term and I I agree with everything. Obviously Joe said about the position and RAW. You can appreciate it. I mean you. You need to know the passing game and you need to know the running game. You need to know a lot of them. You know in line and blocking and all that you know and as Gillibrand always says second hardest position to pick up a rookie Other than tight end now. I do love Tj Hodkinson. And I did pump him up last year as a tight end to you. Take the back into your draft fifteenth round. Because I truly believe. He's an absolute stud after one game. I was like yeah and then he went away. And you know for about three months so It's rare that the rookies get a dog. But you you did. Bring up a good name. Their Jeremy shockey. He was pretty good as a rookie But this year's class is bad. Trautmann for the New Orleans. Saints obviously is very athletic and Jared. Cook is obviously well over thirty. So he's a great stash. Guy Sean. Payton is not going anywhere so trotman has a real chance to be highly impactful. Aussie Aussie is a guy that I heard a lot about the combat. He wasn't a name that people were talking abou in terms of like top five at the position but I was not shocked at all when he was a second titantic end off the board just from conversations. I had with people at the combine scouts and alike kind of like him. You know complete player. I interviewed him. He's a nice kid. He takes a lot of pride in his blocking it. A huge game against USC in a rivalry game so showed up in big spots. I think he's got a chance but he's got competition in Dalton Kane and you just never know what the Patriots. He's got a shot. I think my favorite is Harrison Bryant at Florida Atlantic and Charlie Weis speaking of him. His son coached him last year. And Charlie sent me a text unsolicited said. Hey pump up Harrison Brian. I'm like all right and then I looked at the tape and I'm like wow. This guy's yeah like him. He seems like a complete player. I know that you've got open. The esteem a little bit but I like him quite a bit. I think he's a better prospect overall than a awesome. Hooper was obviously there. It will likely be Gone Albert play. What your lock Missouri. But we have no offense there so I do like Albert. Oh yeah overall. I think it's those three guys really stand out to me for Dynasty Leagues and the long-term at the tight end position. What about for your Joe on the dynasty end of it? Who Did you? Who Do you like? Well my top guys Trautmann and the reason Trautmann's my top guy is because is very productive in college. But I thought it was very intriguing that the saints essentially made a mini Ricky Williams trade to trade up for him. They traded into the back end of round three and they used their entire day three hall to make the deal. They traded their fourth fifth. Sixth and seventh round picks to move into third round to draft Adam. Trautmann and I think Trautmann Look I. I don't think he's going to be great as a rookie. But Jared Cook has no guaranteed money on his contract after the season. He's thirty three years old. I think this is pick for the future for the New Orleans Saints so Peyton call him a true kind of a traditional tight end in line blocker. Get down the seem. I think that's fascinating as well. But the guy that I've really become entry interested in in the last couple of weeks and arguably the guy who I think might have the best chance to like produces a rookie is nas from New England. I I just think it's so hilarious. That Bill Belichick. He's the he didn't draft a tight end in last year's his every every year. We have a historically great something but last year was a great tight end class and everybody thought it was a guarantee the patriots drafting one because Gronk had just retired a quote unquote retired and he didn't draft one. This year redrafts two in the third round including Dalton keen. Who's going to be more of a fullback so I think I think those guys are really interesting to me. Aussie Aussie might actually have the best shot. Maybe outside of coal committed to contribute as a rookie but in terms of rookie production. It is not a great class. And while you and John were talking I went and looked up a all. The rookie seasons by tight ends in NFL history. Because I knew I there was one or two. I was missing recently. That were pretty good but ebony ingram in two thousand seventeen had seven hundred twenty two receiving yards as a rookie. That is sixth. Best of all time. Jeremy shockey who we already mentioned on the podcast. Eight hundred ninety four yards second best of all time as a rookie. The Best of all time you have to go all the way back to nineteen sixty one. Mike Ditka had a thousand and seventy six receiving yards and twelve touchdowns that is by far the best rookie season for a tight end in. Nfl history. And that is that what fifty nine almost sixty years ago. A Jeremy shockey had the second-best only one tight end in. Nfl history has gone over a thousand yards in his rookie season. It is just not a position that contributes early. I mean even since the year two thousand we have very few guys even over six hundred yards since two thousand. Only Jeremy. Shockey Evan Ingram and John. Carlson have gone over six hundred receiving yards as a rookie noah. Fant who we just got done talking about You know we made some plays. But he wasn't great as a rookie. He had five hundred sixty two receiving yards that is nineteenth most all time so it just goes to show you that even the guy who had the nineteenth most receiving yards as a rookie tight end in NFL history. We're talking a hundred seasons. He didn't really do much for fantasy so I just would not anticipate these guys being particularly productive as we as we talk about this season if any of them top five hundred yards. It would be beating yachts. Wow that that I'm glad you look that up dead. You know. People don't know this but that he was he was he was Hanson's tight and one that year speaking of John John Dick has titan one year. I did I actually to Ross. It was too but I was behind like the John mackey but did guy coached in nineteen ninety eight. Actually one of the better rookie seasons ever logged by tight end. Let's call it the modern fantasy our last forty years. Remember Cam Cleland yes. It fifty four catches for six eighty four and six touchdowns in one thousand nine hundred. And we're like Oh my God. Wow that was actually a very good year even then and probably still now for rookie tight end. Of course. He didn't really do much after that seventh all time. Yep Wow. Here's my last question for you guys. This actually comes from a listener. Joe Roz now ski? I think he actually signed up. Fantasy points use the code. Feast all cap so you can ask questions if you do that too. He had a specific question about Bryson Hopkins. Who is our Buddy Brad Hopkins son? Yeah worth round. The Rams and his question was basically. Why did the rams take him when they have Everett and hey baby and I guess looking at it? I think they gave me a new deal. My guess is maybe they'll let Everett walk after this year because this is the fourth year of his deal. But that's my guess I don't expect Hopkins to like play over either one of those guys to you know no in fact last year before Tyler higby broke out. I thought the Rams Shoulda traded him because they weren't using him and I loved him as a prospect. My Guy Adam Kaplan inform me of him at the that year going into the draft from the probably senior bowl or something like that and I was like wow I looked up and I'm like damn this guy moves really well. I wouldn't be surprised guys if Hopkins Pans out pretty good prospect. Maybe the rams trade Gerald ever in season I agree I think could be. I think he could be a trade target Also obviously hig going nowhere. They extended him. And this is just the Rams Kinda building for the future and you know what's interesting strange draft. They drafted for like flexibility on offense. They spent second round picks on both running back and wide receiver. They drafted camakers who we talked about. Ross and also they drafted the Van Jefferson Wide Receiver. A by the way also the son of an NFL player. Van Jefferson Shawn's Jefferson's kid and Bryson Hopkins's Brad Hopkins. Kid Hopkins can really move four six six to forty five. The one problem that I saw with him hands really inconsistent. I made some spectacular catches but I think he had some concentration drops and that's probably why fell to the fourth round. But he's a good prospect and I just think this means whether Everett's traded or he walks after this year I think Hopkins is going to be the number two tight end behind Tyler higby and twenty twenty one guru. I really appreciate you coming on. I'm so glad you started a new site and didn't elect to just hang out on the Jersey shore in retirement instead. "For boats heading out to their moorings along Lake Michigan. And so you will see those happening. I believe they started ten in the morning till about three in the afternoon forecast from the WGN Chicago weather center showers, eventually will make it into our area. We were expecting them on the overnight hours, but they have been dissipating as they make their way across the Illinois border and just have not come into the Chicago area. Some about three hours ago passed north of the city, and we have not seen any sense that we keep our eyes on that for you getting up to about eighty degrees today. Sunday, we got a forty percent chance for showers before one o'clock, high of sixty nine and Memorial Day Monday, fifty percent chance of showers or thunderstorms, a high near seventy six almost thirty. "In multimedia production and live television for dynamic broadcast. Coverage you've worked here for fifteen years twenty worked here since February of nineteen ninety nine seen a lot of weird stuff come through here in that time. I have I started working around the beginning of the international space station. I worked through a big part of the shuttle program. I was here during the Columbia accident and work through return to flight and now building towards Ryan and commercial crew. How did you first become aware of John Hansen and his project dealing with the Apollo eleven mission control tape. Recordings Hanson had the project with the National Science Foundation, and he had reached out to the JC history program who eventually directed him to our department, and I think if I remember right handed seen an article about our department in mix magazine, they had dentist short story about some of the things that we do here in the audio control room, and they hit included a picture of some of my colleague standing in front of the sound Scribner. So he became aware of who we were in and you reached out made contact with my supervisor John still who then handed the project over to me when you met with Hansen. Then what what was your sense of what he was after? So he shared with me his proposal. He had submitted to the universe of. And so I had a basic understanding of the academic research that he was pursuing the project which was interesting. But what really interested me was too was that he had funding that he was willing to apply towards solving some of the problems we had and being able to do this part of that was getting the sound scraper back in working order. Now. Let me stop you there. And let's do a little clarification you've mentioned sound Scribner. And we hear the word sound Scribner in this story before can you describe characterize explain that machine. What what is the sound scraper?.

"Wintrust Chicago's think on seven twenty WGN. Day afternoon, everyone John Hansen in for Steve Bertrand here on the wintrust business lunch where we got a packed show. So I'm gonna jump right? And that's and joining us on the line as John Jerry contributor at CNBC and co-founder of Jerry and family office. John good to talk with you again. Well, always a good time to talk with you, my friend. Thank you. We've got the Dow up slightly the SNP and the NASDAQ down slightly, and I'm looking right at the lead page here on CNBC about recession ob- spiked to their highest level in three years. According to a CNBC study, I got a really dumb question for you, John. And that is if anyone ever asked me what I thought was going to have with the economy, I would just lie and be as positive as possible. And why can't everyone do that? So we all just get this sense of because confidence is what can drive a market. So let's just all fake it and think it's going to be fine. Well, and you're right. That would be an interesting way. But unfortunately, out the way they do it. Mostly. I think the the most recent reading the one we're talking about right now is because of the government shutdown. Mhm estimated eleven billion or more may have impacted from consumer spending confidence of consumers going forward and so forth. So those are some of the things that sort of from out of left field because he didn't know how long it would last right or exactly what would be the net result. So I think that's mostly what we're looking at here. If you call them next week since the shutdown is over. I think it would be a slightly different view. I'll be too jealous. Wait a month until we find out if it's gonna shut down again. Let's just ask next month. Instead one thing we're all well watching for these apple earnings that are gonna come. I think after the closing bell today. What are we watching for their? Well, it's since they don't break down the number of iphones the units. They're not giving us any input going forward anymore as to how many of those units handsets, and so forth, they're selling that was something the market didn't like the markets certainly likes transparency and doesn't like uncertainty, and you really couldn't create more uncertainty than by saying, we're not gonna offer any guidance handsets. Did they break it down any more? Did they explain why they're doing it? Did they just want? Do they feel like they're giving their competitors information that they don't need to have? What was the reasoning for that? I think they just kinda were getting frustrated. They know it's sixty some odd percent of their revenue comes from handsets. In other words, the new iphone X are and so forth. They didn't like the fact that so many analysts me included were so hung up on. Okay. Is it forty seven million is a forty six point nine billion forty eight billion units and so forth. So they figured okay. But if we just take it out and tell you how much money we made from selling fan, right? And you guys can figure out how many because basically what they did was. They started telling us how much money per handset rather than you know. So you could take a guess, but you can't really be very accurate because they don't just sell the new models that they sell in the United States. They sell the fives over in India or they sell the seven seven pluses in Africa. In other words, it wouldn't give you a clear view of how many handsets, but rather what the margin is that they're getting which is enormous earlier this month, they kind of adjusted their revenue estimates down, and they had done it. A couple of times and shares really obviously reflected that with a ten percent drop. They've club there. Way back, you know, the one the one advantages if you've lowered your earnings estimates is that you give yourself a better opportunity. I guess to report better than earning afterwards. I I wonder if this number comes out a little bit higher than than their lowest earnings amount of the if the markets will reflect accordingly. Yeah. They would. I mean the question that you raise is a great one. Is the bar low enough that they can just step over a longer half to jump over it, and given the, you know, just over a quarter of this stock was two hundred thirty two dollars a share just two quarters ago. And this last quarter, you were able to pick it up for under a hundred and fifty wow all the way down to about one forty five. So that is one of the biggest corrections we've seen out of apple. And I think that's why a lot of us were aggressively buying it here. We'll see if full rewarded after the close back so far so good staying in the tech corridor. The Justice department filing criminal charges against the big Chinese company while away and their financial officer. What are these charges about? What are they alleging here? Well, a lot of you remember about a month and a half hour or so ago, we found that they were they walk away and others were putting basically listening device onto a chip. They it become so good at it that they could put ways that they could track not just for the consumer and business went but actually hear what was going on in various, what might have been secure military operations as well. And the US was really angry about this said, we're going to block all of your chips. If you guys don't stop this wall way and others and hasn't really been fully addressed yet. So that's finally what they're doing now with this lawsuit. And they also Wilbur Ross made a point to say that this are obviously separate from ongoing trade negotiations with China. You wonder if those waters might be a little muddy? Okay question for you. You got any tips. Any anything you're looking at here that might be an interesting pick people. Well, I guess so I don't mean to put you. I don't mean to put you on the spot here. No, no. That's quite all, right. We're we're out here with a whole bunch of firms from around the world in squad valley, and we're out here because of the there's a big meeting of exchanges from around the world, and one of the things I think all of us are kind of focused on right now other than China is crude oil and the energy market. So lately, we have been buying back into many of the energy stocks that we dumped we're doing that right now mainly through the explorations box. So Anadarko petroleum ABC is one that we're actually in there buying today. John you're on top of a mountain, and we're going to be about fifty degrees cooler than you are here tomorrow tonight. So maybe one hundred hundred it's forty five degrees. Belly enjoy that Jonah Jerry and enjoy that ball five, and they give by Jerry and contributor at CNBC and the co founder of Nigerian family office. Always appreciate that. Let's get a look at some traffic.

"The WGN newsroom. Ready to join the conversation live whenever a story changes on Chicago's very own seven twenty WGN. The hope done sensibly is it the incentives for investment any economic growth will bring in enough growth and therefore tax revenue. This is the wintrust business launching sponsored by wintrust Chicago's Bank, seven twenty WGN. Seven twenty WGN happy. I Wednesday of two thousand nineteen John Hansen in for Steve Bertrand till one o'clock for the wintrust business lunch. Thanks so much for joining us in a little bit. We're going to be talking about the value of peanut butter. And no, I'm not talking about that a wonderful treat on carrots or crackers or celery. It's a company that actually helps other companies make sure that they pay for millennials student debt, or at least help out with that. It's a really cool company. We're gonna talk to the CEO and just a little bit. And also trampolines for kids and adults. How trampoline company here in the west loop might be benefiting area companies a little bit more than you'd expect? But let's jump right in with Terry savage. You know, or you love, Terry savage. The nationally known expert on personal finance the markets and economic policy Terry happy new year to you and a happy new year to you. But a great time of year because they get to start over and not look back except to lessons and then only move forward. And I looked at your column would you can find. Terry, savage dot com. And during the news break Terry challenged myself to do a couple of things on the to do list just to show how quickly can be done. I went into my 4._0._1._K. I also have an IRA I had never once looked really past the balance, and I went ahead and entered it on the website MorningStar to look at that. And then I also went to choose to save dot org. Again, this is stuff that I was able to aspertain in about thirteen minutes. Walk us through those two sites that you have in that column. All right. Well, that's the thing. I I tried to write about where you can hide about four or five weeks ago. And then, of course, the market went absolutely crazy in a 4._0._1._K plan used option is you're in it for the long run. You can't just take it out. You can only sell out and go to wear a once you're inside the 4._0._1._K played. And you've got to leave it in there. You're still working. They're very few safe alternatives. But there are stable value funds, for example, as you're getting closer to retirement, you may not want all the aggressive growth options that are really in there to be offered to younger people. But most people don't even know they know, well, I'm in I'm in a fidelity this or a vanguard debt. So I suggested everybody go to MorningStar dot com, and you can look up each and every fund unless it's what's called a proprietary put together a growth fund or something like that. But if they're named fun. You can see what's inside fund and see how. Well, those funds did against benchmarks and make better choices both inside your 4._0._1._K and outside. I have a target. I have a targeted targeted retirement date thing. And you know, you kind of just like leave those on autopilot sometimes, but it was a little to look through it and to see my risk compared to other folks in the same categories to see, you know, the weighted average of the whole that's it's really fascinating to look through the end of the day, Terry. I guess this is all about just really ascertaining where you are taking an honest. Look, exactly. And and I just want to make a point about target date funds. They're terrific there. The default that safe harbor really most young workers. We'll let the professionals manage it. And I think that's a good idea. But when you within three or four or five years of retirement taking a big hit could really be costly because that's the net at for three years. From now that you'll get your roll out.
