Oh, it well with Anthony Perkins. Yeah. Any perkins. Yes. Anthony Perkins was was a lover he was living a secret life. I mean, it's all in the documentary and the book, and he was also musician and SE wasn't music. And Jack Warner started one of brothers records because of tab hunter. I didn't know how tab hunter recorded a song for dot records. Young love. Yes. And and Jack Warner was furious. That's right. And and taps it. You don't even have a record division music division. It's correct. So they started one of other records for tab hunter, wink, Martindale also recorded on dot records. So. He kind of faded away, and then John waters sort of brought him back in and polyester the most amount of money. John waters paid an actor to be a movie is to have hunted love that he would have been so perfect for us Gilbert, oh, that's one of those. That's a kick. Major major kick yourself about John Gavin who was sort of a leading man in the rock Hudson mice. Yeah. But also in Spartacus John Gavin. I mean, the two actors who look like twins were. "Like one is out who are these people? What is this? But they set it up. It was there like they had a deliberate conversation about these things. And then here, they are when I think it helps to that we had the mystery in the first half of the movie, which was the forty thousand dollars, which is just basically thrown away by the second half of the movie, and then we still kind of have that mystery. That's the impetus for what salmon Lilan Arbogast are working under is a girl with forty thousand dollars. Somebody always sees a girl with forty thousand dollars. But we the audience are working on another mystery more working on who is Norman basis mother. When is she gonna get caught? Or if we've seen the movie before. For when is Norman gonna get caught? How is this going to play out what is happening here and just all of these things of their mystery finally Kolesas with our mystery once they go to the sheriff, and they start to hear about Norma's mother and how she either kill herself or was killed. I think they think that she killed herself after she killed her lover. And so they're finally hearing about mother, but they still don't know that mother was involved in this murder. They still don't think the mother was there at all. And they think that she's some old woman up in the house and can't hurt a fly as it were. So the very interesting how we're in on something completely different than those other people are just watching the mechanisms of them as they try to a Benchley find their way to the mystery that we really want to know as of you're it's easy to forget that. So when you start talking to you're right, but Arba gas is really deliver about like he's on the trail of the money in every time in obviously Marian sister wants to find Marian. And it's kinda like when Arbogast is the money the money. It's like you go. Oh, no stop. It. You got to figure out having to marry hurry up catch up to me now that scene with Martin Balsam. Anthony Perkins is just again, another masterfully done seen really kind of puts a strong point on just how clumsy John Gavin seems to be as an actor because you get that great tatoo between gently and Anthony Perkins. Then you get that great scene of Martin Balsam Anthony Perkins at any get later on the confrontation between John Gavin, Anthony Perkins, and it just doesn't play as well. As a great scene still. But John Gavin outmatched it feels like when it comes. To that. But to have those lines like Arbogast when he says doesn't gel. It's not aspect is. Just like, wow. Okay. That's nice that shot northern when he's leaning over looking at the book, and you see his throat moving and his got like the Chicken Neck just kinda working on. That candy corn is always pecking at. It's just so many nice images, so many nice lines. And just the way those two actors play off one another. It's just like again like this masterclass of acting for sure. And I don't think there's anything John Gavin's fine in this. But when there's so much other stuff going on both the actor and the character of Sam, they get kind of lost. There's too many other awesome things happening in another movie. It would probably would have been fine. Because I don't think like oh, look at this guy. He doesn't belong here. But there's so much other stuff happening in your the most your least interesting the room. John gavin. I'm sorry. I forget that you're in this movie half the time, I watch it. I like. I think it's nice the way that they are always playing those two shots of Norman on one side of the desk and the other person on.

"People need the energy where you have a solar panels that on there are any everybody's house where you have wind farms where you have more things that can provide us renewable energy sources, and we are not at the Beck and call we are not the slaves of PG and E. Let's keep some of that in mind too is where. Talking about future solutions to the problem of these horrific wildfires in the state of California, eight hundred eighty eight ten is the telephone number. Let's jump to the phones. John. Let's talk with them. I don't know who's been waiting longest. I think it's David in San Francisco, David. Hi, welcome to K G L, you're on the air with patent John. Go ahead. Well, finish. Hi, dave. Thanks. If you think about the the do you remember the old Jack Nicholson movie Chinatown? The best movies of all time. Right. And and it had to do with the water south in the mountains down to L A. And that's really the major part of of this. That's not being discussed when you put in a road on amount. And you put in a pair of gutters those gutters. Then go to the water capture area where the water is sold down to the. You know, the major city, and so it's been leaving California drier and drier and drier in the mountains fall these over a century. And when you start looking at these solutions of cutting out the underbrush. That's preposterous. That's what we need to deal with block up those gutters. So that that water remains in the mountains and not only gives us snowpacks for the for the farmers in the central valley. But then we end up with less less of these fires. And how do we do that Damon? Well, just the major if you talk to climate scientists that the major solution that ninety nine percent of them agree on is planning more trees. And when they start when I keep hearing these people talking about cutting out, the undergrowth, that's counter intuitive to planting more trees and the other thing for planning on just want to ask a question. I'm just curious. I'm just curious. Why do you think it's counterintuitive if trees are properly cared for for instance, here in San Francisco, the friends of the urban forest to all the tree planting it's done in a very careful, very meticulous fashion. So it doesn't represent a threat. Couldn't that be used in terms of reforestation, which they're going to have to do. Anyway. In terms. A lot of fires here in California. Well, yeah, I mean in terms of a massive area that got burned out any of these wildfires is going to have to create a it's going to take decades for to get back to its natural balance. So there is maybe some, you know, some intermediate remediation that has to go on this discussion of if this the mountainsides have become more and more dried out for a century. This is basically corporate water theft. And we've got to stop the corporate world, isn't that? Also, route is I mean, I understand the idea of corporate water theft understand that we've had that thought in southern California for years and years and years. The question becomes what about drought? How do we deal with the fact that there is no water the rainfall is so limited does that impact as well. California. Of course, you know, we we depend upon the snowpack in the mountains. Right. And you remember was it three or four years ago? All of the snow was melted off by the end of January, right? It was much of a drought February was bone dry. And so the idea that this is back to the issue of Chinatown, the that old movie the other thing, I was going to raise this gets into the PG PG ever since nine eleven, you know, all of the power companies have been part of security state, and they get a huge amount of money for homeland security to guard the infrastructure. Well, if we went solar or wind power, we would spread out the power sources, and we wouldn't have to. To attack. Yeah. Much less that you wouldn't have to bury all the wires underground, you have to have high tension polls that were sending, you know, one hundred miles or fifty miles. You would have it all within the neighborhood, right? That gets into is is you remember a few years ago. Sixty minutes did a piece about counterfeiting airline parts. Well, I'm wondering if PG and he hasn't been buying counterfeit. You know, the electric pole. I'm trying to think of the anchors that hold the wires up there. And whether they're buying Boda bogus parts that are are breaking in high winds. So I would say. That was an investigative reporter. I'd find out whether or not some of these, you know, whether or not these wind storms or pulling down bogus parts that aren't really up to rate, right? There needs to be some very serious investigations about a lot of things that are going on with PGN. I think David that's one that needs needs to be added to it. I'm glad that you brought up the idea of the renewable energy sources because I hadn't even thought about it from the perspective of national security. But it does mean that we would be less susceptible to attacks on our power grid. And you know, that there have been attempts. There have been people knocking at the door of our power plants and of some of our infrastructure in that way to see if they could get in order to disrupt the power for an extended period of time, which of course, would disrupt all of our lives, if you had these smaller areas smaller plants, and they were these renewable energy places sources plan. Lantz it would be much much more difficult to disrupt the entire state or whoever is dependent right now on the power grid is controlled by. And I think that's an excellent thing for us to consider as well. Of course. I am curious if we went to solar and wind I have solar panels on my house, I do too. Would there be enough energy? It take care of California. I don't know we can supplement with different things are a lot of different kinds of renewable energy sources, we can supplement with a lot of things you don't have to rely on just one thing. There are a lot of things. But I'm saying I'm only asking a question if all maybe we can still be partially dependent upon the grid completely depend. We are completely dependent on the grid. But we are dependent on the Grinch. But we are dependent on the group is there is no real alternative. I'm only throwing this out because it seems to me there are things we can do and we should do. But we're gonna. To be dependent on the grid. We're not going to divorce ourselves from four. Now. That's true for now. But you know, what it's gonna take some real bold moves and yesterday, I said this John Gavin Newsom can be bold. I hope that he takes his role as governor of the cow of California and looks at some of these enormously pressing issues here, and I hope that he is bold. And he moves quickly on some of these enormous things it seems like sometimes the bigger and entity the more difficult. It is for them to make the moves that are even necessary for their very survival. It's too in business and it's true in governance as well. Gavin Newsom, though, ran the city of San Francisco when he made some bold moves, then I hope he's willing to do that as the governor of California who's got a surplus a huge surplus. Let's see what he does. Let's see what he does with it. And if he if he does anything with it. And if if when he does do something with it if he spends it the way it's going to benefit the majority of Californians will be. Right back with more of your calls..

While I was interesting story about twelve strong that movie takes place in October of two thousand one right after nine eleven. They were the first guys into join up with the Northern Alliance and they're fighting their way to Mazarine. I as a young captain joined that unit in November of two thousand one. And I reported to Lieutenant Colonel Max powers, and I used to brief him every morning, brief him every evening and was working out in the population of Mazari Sharif among the citizenry, the local moolah and the officials, and you know, all that good stuff. So I was out in about every day. And then I turn out to turns out. I play Lieutenant Colonel Max Bowers in the movie. So I'm playing my former commanding officer in the movies, so, and I knew a lot of those guys very intimately because we all. Lived in the same place, and we, you know, shared the same small space for for many months. So is a, there's a definitely a connection with that movie. That's great. And do you prefer comedy? I prefer comedy comedies. Always going to be the thing that nights my fire. However, I did recently get a chance to do twelve strong and movie called midnight sun, where I got to take some drama out for a walk and loved it. Oh, I did love it. Did it's I, I mean. I, there is definitely a truth to, I think, comedians being able to go to. Darker depths when they branch over and do drama versus serious dramatic actors trying to find their funny bone, right. There's a it. It's weird how it is so easy for so many comedians to do that dark role. I think it's because if a comedian is willing and allows himself or herself to touch or to be vulnerable to over themselves up to the pain in their life. Yeah, they can be. I think they can be wonderful, dramatic act. They can the it. It's hard to do that. Not everybody wants to do that. That's why they're comedians. They mask their pain with a lot of certainly do. But I think you, I think you're right. I think that's probably a an e, not easier, but a more realistic way thing as opposed to a dramatic actor saying now for the ox, right? And at work. Perfect examples. I think we can give would be Robin Williams, and let's say his Academy Award winning role and goodwill hunting. And in the other example would be Alpa chino in Jack and Jill. If you haven't seen it, Joe. Well, hey, let's just take a moment. Please to talk about a brand new season of raised by TV because it comes out this week, folks raised by TV, weren't you?
