"I want you to know why don't you. Tell me one of my guests today was the cleaning lady in our office who works in midnight shift, but she wanted to be there because she wanted to see this judge and hear her and show her support. And we asked her afterwards what she thought of the hearing, she said it was really interesting, but there are some mean people in there. Oh, lord, dick Durbin yesterday. By the way, frangela has tweeted us, hey, Chris Travis, Steph, are we allowed to use the word bitch on the air just preparing to talk about Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham. We might need to check on a few other words for Tom cotton and Marshall Blackburn. Yes. Yes, officially you can. That's exactly what we want. Take your line down to the corner market and sell it there because this 5 and dime isn't buying your line today. Okay. Oh, flake superior tweets every time Ted Cruz speaks, an angel gets a pretty splinter. I've never gotten a booby, a booby. Yeah, some boobies splinter every time. Yeah. That's a thing. Yeah. Sometimes angels. Have you ever wings? I think every time judge Jackson speaks an angel gets its wings and every time Ted Cruz speaks. An angel gets a piece of winter, which is as John field was thanks as an angel coughs up blood. Yeah. You know how much I love fires. I fireplaces. I have probably got more money. You've made us splinters when I'm carrying wood. No, you've made us bring up your wood too. Well, you've probably also gotten to these slender then. My boobs are bigger than yours but I'm gonna keep saying you splinter all day now. Okay, sorry. What, don't shoot me anymore with that dark gun. I've had it with you, mister. Patrick, if anyone else knew how to run that board, you'd be so Patrick and Patrick and Boston. Hello. Stephanie, thanks for taking my call. How are you guys doing out there in the West Coast? Good. Good, go ahead. Listen, I need a little clarification because again, this is with respect to make disagree with 95 to 8% of your show, but I enjoy your show because you guys are very talented and I have to say that right off the bat. I laugh a lot. You know what your 98% wrong in 2% really good taste. So my argument is that it's not really an argument. Again, with respect. I thought it was a valid question that the hair lady said. Are you calling this a Marshall Blackburn here, lady? That's funny. That's funny. We're not that far apart. But about the definition of a woman. And I say it in the context. And I'm wondering if I could get your side of the argument on, is that I have three daughters who are the love of my life, two of which are collegiate athletes and they're on soccer and lacrosse. And it gets down to the argument about the swimmer from Penn, who's transgender who identifies as a male. And the argument that I'm probably upsetting identifies as female. She identifies as a student. I apologize. I'm sorry. I would just ask you for your side of the spectrum on if, you know, where you're coming down because my daughter who is on a team level, not individually, had to compete against a physically superior biological male in that competition, I'd be full crap because of the amount of money in the time I invested in her attaining, you know, thank God they got scholarships and to get to that level and to have a, you know, for all with respect, a guy beat her in the pool, I just, I don't think that's inherently fair. And I just want to hear what it's not. Okay, first of all, you're missing the whole point. It's not a guy. I mean, do you acknowledge trans people have a right to exist? Of course. I do. With respect, I do, because I have a friend whose daughter is transitioning into a male. So what's the reindeer coach on Rudolph red knows reindeer? You just don't think they should be allowed to play in any of our reindeer games. They shouldn't be allowed to do anything, play any group sports. Or participate. Well, I guess, I guess. And again, with respect, I would probably say no because it's not fair if they're biologically superior and physically superior. And again, I know some Tom boys that are very good athletes and they continue to thank you. I was such a junior junior Dyke myself. I know, but well, there's my point. And I look like an Armenian dude, but I'm biologically female. I would not play softball or something. No, you would want to play softball against me. Third baseman. I guess it's a question of fairness stuff. That's what I'm as Chris what your thoughts on this as well. You know what? It is complicated. I will give you that. It's a very complicated question, but also and gerson good people. Sometimes rightfully confused by this whole by the whole issue. And so I'm not making fun of anybody who thinks the way you do at all because it is very complicated. And a lot of the people on your side tend to be transphobic and homophobic and it gets lumped into, oh, I don't want to use a bathroom with a trans person and just things that are ridiculous. Yeah, if I will say this as a younger man, I was a bigot. I was. I just admit it. I was in the home. A lot of us changed. I know, right is right, wrong is wrong, and I was like, what the hell? But as I got older and my daughter's God love him. Exposed me to the world of difference and diversity. And I'm like, you know what? God bless him. If that's what you're both and it makes you happy, then who the hell am I? But this is more about the lines of Karen. Hang on one second. Karen from Chicago, who's who has a trans child? Just tweeted, let the call or know when people go through gender reassignment, hold on. They are put on hormones. So technically an individual has the same hormones as a biological female. I was just saying that as I'm not as, what's the word? Knowledgeable in every aspect of trans. And that is people. Right now. But that's one of the things. So what I'm saying is Patrick, you know, Chris is right. You have valid points, and I understand what

Are we at the if I did it book or which one are we at? Lying horror? Are we still with lying whore? Are we now with, I've been redeemed. I think we're in Jesus Y land now. He's been redeemed. But he was like free range. He was like, right wing men are apparently immediately redeemed by the Japanese. And when anyone else does anything, that's how Christian Satan operates. Well, as the official Lutheran pastor of the Stephanie Miller show, Dave and Minneapolis said yesterday, redemption doesn't work like that. Oh no. It's not a magic eraser. Just don't redeem yourself. Immediately. Yeah. They think it does. Yeah. Okay. So, I guess that's the only exception they believe in for abortion is the Herschel to be the Herschel. Okay, so that's a lot to slog through. So we'll get to that. There's a lot of Herschel because these really alter the doggie, which is just so helpful. It seems to really helping himself. Yeah, if that one poll is to be

"Version of the season and say you have a business. He's done his last lecture. Oh, he's going to be off the chase. That sounds like a dictatorship right there. No more elections? Who are those people that find this just so it's just like a sitcom laugh track? Oh my gosh. According to the mother Jones, it just has a group of associates. Ah, that's how they say it in the mom. Have you met my associate? Okay. Was any of the squids involved? No, that was a different climbing. That was New York climbing. I don't think they put their finger on their nose when they say it though. This is my associate. Where is that from? I don't know. I mean, it's certainly a tell. I don't know. Rob from Robin. Trish. Yeah. We do it all the time. Okay. Yeah. Oh, I know, 'cause we used to. We used to get food from a place that was a brother of a famous mob guy. So when Robert allegedly, oh no, it's not a legend. Oh. It's a very famous from mob guy. But his brother wasn't him. Okay, but rob used to bring food. He'd always like hand it to me and he'd go, he says, put this in the oven at three 25. I'm sure some brave Italian. It was a joke. Yeah. Her thing. Okay. Well, all right, I'm gonna go with the happy clappy tweets. Outspoken tweets, Jim Jordan and Kevin McCarthy are vowing to impeach Merrick Garland if they take the house which confirms to me one the J 6 committee is on point to Garland is investigating three indictments are coming. Oh God, I hope so. You know, that's the thing you can see both sides in the sense of people that are still very confident. We'll see where Glenn is this morning, but chairman Schiff. Said, you know, it is really unusual for the committee like this to be so far out of appears to be so far out ahead of the DoJ and that even Georgia is way out ahead of ahead of him. We have to talk to Glenn too about they're just coming straight out was saying, who was the story you gave me? Trump has to declare to insulate him in Georgia because they know that one's coming fast and coming. That should not insulate. That does not insulate you. That's not something invisible protective cloak that oh, I declared so you can't. George is not gonna care about that. If I ever committed crime, I'm just gonna say I'm running for president. Right. Do anything. Right. You should say you're what's your favorite superhero? Captain America? Yeah, just say you're Captain America. That's something that this woman had an invisible. I've been crazy. If I say I'm running for president, I have protections. Sure. Captain America with his golden lasso. No. No. No. Okay. We have controlling. It hurts. It hurts my heart. It really hurts my heart. We have Glen kirshner. We have DNC chair, Jamie Harrison. We have John field saying we have frangela. That's a Friday show because it is. Eat our gravel soup. What? What's 19? "Also because you referenced an old piece of yours is a Trump indictment possible Mueller and the DoJ can and should reevaluate the office of legal counsel's memo I mean it is sad to read it to just go this is how we got here Just because apparently he is above the law right I mean apparently there's no good time to prosecute a person You're exactly right Somebody said Glenn all the time you say no one is above the law and I said you know what Let's go back and check the tape because I don't think I've ever said that Why Because the Department of Justice has a memo that says I'm paraphrasing a sitting president is above the law He can commit all the crimes he wants and we don't think it's a good idea to indict him for those crimes That puts him above the law That is deeply damaging to our Republican stuff That is landed us in the exact spot We find ourselves in because if Donald Trump were prosecuted for the crime he committed frankly to steal the presidency in the first place the campaign finance crimes with Michael Cohen we wouldn't be in this mess Right So how about DoJ revisit the fact that it decided to put one person above the law Because it's destroying our dang democracy Yeah Yeah well you made a good point too on Twitter You said breaking news DoJ indicts a high government official for bribery for a corrupt quid pro quo using taxpayer money for his own political advantage time to compare and contrast the New York lieutenant governor to a former president of the United States equal justice I mean there's a million examples right Yeah that was a bad one with lieutenant governor of New York governor brought out the tenant governor Brian Benjamin apparently engaged in a $50,000 bribery scheme And he should be held accountable And he did that back in 2019 through 2021 Well Donald Trump extorted president zelensky for $400 million of taxpayers money That is bribery plain and simple And yet he's never been held accountable Look at lieutenant governor Benjamin look at Donald Trump What is it that distinguishes those two people I'm not saying this was a racially based decision but why is it they held the black politician accountable the Department of Justice and have refused to hold the white politician accountable Well for a more serious bribery And also by the way you referenced North Carolina authorities remove Mark Meadows from the voter rolls amidst voter election fraud investigation Well there's an African American woman who went to jail for how many years for that I mean you can excite an example well not even an hour a minute right About how there's not equal justice And that woman filed a provisional ballot because she wasn't sure if she could vote or not She was trying to do things right Even though it turns out she got it wrong that frankly should get her probation and Mark Meadows should be sitting in her jail cell Yeah And finally I ask you about our handmaid's tale Reality you tweeted desantis legislation revoking women's constitutionally protected privacy rights This is legitimately terrifying what's happening So desantis signed a 15 week abortion ban into law Supporters of the 15 week restriction as well as there was a Florida ceiling monitor saying Florida is pro life except for all the women will die trying to Okay The law makes no exceptions for rape or incest Legislative versus today Florida became the third state after Arizona Kentucky to enact a 15 week ban modeled after Mississippi's unconstitutional 15 week ban Currently being challenged by the U.S. Supreme Court at the Supreme Court This is a shameless step toward what could be a terrifying new future for reproductive freedom in the country Which Kentucky Republicans overrode the veto there and imposed sweeping abortion restrictions Glenn talked to us about this because this is Kentucky like stopped yesterday Your ability to be able to get an abortion Yeah governor desantis has decided that if you're a woman in Texas and you are raped and impregnated or if you are sexually trafficked and you are impregnated he has made the decision for you that you must carry the rapists baby full term That's what Ron DeSantis just did He revoked in part women's constitutional privacy rights And I would years ago I would have been more optimistic that the Supreme Court would remedy this But now I think they may just jump on the desantis and Greg Abbott bandwagon and say yes of course we are clawing back constitutional rights from women Their second class citizens why wouldn't we Yeah Yeah It is truly terrifying Real quick I know we're late here but new documents indicate the FBI has been lying about failures to prevent January 6th insurrection What do you make of this whole story I don't know what I make of it because this is the first time I'm hearing of this particular story But I will look into it and send me a link Okay that wasn't to share me a clip or two from it I'm happy to talk about it Well the FBI has been lying about its failures to prevent the January 6th insurrection according to newly revealed documents Chris wray told Congress last summer investigators had circulated intelligence material and other resources ahead of the U.S. capitol riot but was limited in gathering evidence from social media Rolling Stone obtained documents showing the FBI had broadly tracked social media platforms the new documents suggest the agency has all the authority it needs to monitor the social media platforms in the name of public safety and in fact the bureau had done just that during the nationwide wave of racial justice protests in 2020 It was property of the people that obtained them And they said the documents bring in to release three consistent truths about the FBI one at its core the FBI is a political police force that primarily targets the left while ignoring or outright enabling the far right Just in terms of you know January 6th in general what did they know When did they know it And I would say because they were Trump's FBI then right So yeah and what has always struck me about the lack of security on January 6th was that was an executive branch orchestration Donald Trump you know in a number of different ways through his agencies his executive branch agencies deprive the U.S. capitol of the security forces It needed to repel the coming attack And then he launched the attack And I know we haven't even gotten into Ivanka Trump Well I think if she told the truth the truth before the J 6 committee had to deeply damage her father because of the reporting that they kept sending her back into the Oval Office during the insurrection to say please persuade daddy to call it off And Donald Trump wouldn't So not only did he set the capitol up to be taken he launched the attack he refused to call it off when even his own daughter tried to get him to call it off And that is a president waging war against the United States Yep absolutely Glenn always it's always keep you way too long It's the jingle says I can talk to him all day Yes All right Love you See you next week Love is staff thanks you guys There we go 52 minutes after the hour we roll along "Lunch I had to Mine salad mine lunch Okay I had two Carl I'm sorry But you know I mean I just to see these by the way Cruz and hawley's case insurrectionists in my point in my opinion lecturing Merrick Garland was that not more than you could take Yeah I mean at a certain point the theatrics have worn thin even for people like Ted Cruz But I think it is to be expected These are people who you know we're more than happy to stand there and allow for the possible overturning of a rightfully held election of our president So the fact that they would continue to defend this kind of garbage is not surprising Carl I know I just honestly I woke up thinking we are really in the upside down Not only that 60% of Republicans not only think the election was fraudulent but should be overturned and Trump should be reinstalled This is the country we wake up in this morning Because I mean they're all performance artists as we say every day Carl Harris Tom cotton who John fields things correct He does look like a constipated pencil I'm sorry But they're all just like you need to reside in disgrace really For saying the DOJ will protect people with school boards who are getting violent threats Yeah Anyway here's a shame Pencil This testimony you're directive your performance is shameful That's not true Thank God you are not on the Supreme Court You should resign and disgrace judge Jennifer Garland do you want to complete your answer Okay I wasn't sure there was a question there Oh my God can we skip to ten to the other insurrections Josh hawley Yeah Who gave the fist up to the insurrectionist I'll leave it at this General Garland you have weaponized the FBI and the Department of Justice your U.S. attorneys are now collecting and cataloging all the ways that they might prosecute parents like mister Smith because they want to be involved in their children's education and they want to have a say in their elected officials It's wrong It is unprecedented to my knowledge in the history of this country and I call on you to resign I mean the drama Carl You're a gay man and it really is I don't know I don't know what this was auditions for but it's really we're at this point where everything is just this histrionics and you need to resign for really for saying I draw the line at threats and violent threats to school board members and teachers right Right so far as I know the only thing they're interested in is actionable threats So to defend that look we get all kinds of people that come to our meetings and say things School board members do all over the country And they're welcome to use their First Amendment to do that But when it does devolve into threats and a lot of the times that's not in a meeting it'll be over email or social media direct threats of violence or worse That's when folks get involved Yeah I mean first of all that plus they keep mischaracterizing this memo right What is Cruz said you're the attorney general of the United States This is a memo to the FBI saying go investigate parents as domestic terrorists Garland said that is not what the memo says at all Of course is that what the letter says He said I don't care what the letter says Like he's in charge of the Department of Justice and that's not what he said right They're talking about the letter from the school board right Right I think rightly said this is domestic terrorism But Garland didn't use that language but it just this is also disingenuous what they were accusing him of isn't it Yes it's disingenuous And it has everything to do with trying to sway an election has nothing to do with reality You know I wonder if members of Congress will now step back and say look when we get threats on our lives or threats to our physical safety we do not want the FBI investigating it Yeah Yeah Let me one more Give me dick Durbin Thank God I think it was a shot at obviously Cruz in Hollywood We are not trying to stifle free speech but only saying to people we're going to draw a line I found it fascinating that at least one of the people who was criticizing you today and talking about the situation on January 6th was actually cheering the demonstrators on January 6th And there's ample evidence of that I would think we've got to draw a line that accepts in this civilized society we are going to be respectful of one another even if we disagree politically Carl I find myself left I'm a happy clappy liberal as you know I find myself less hopeful about that we can't agree on I mean you saw the senator Booker went through and you know you're on a school board just the list of really egregious threats This is obviously a serious problem and we just we can't even agree on a set of facts Anymore Isn't that what we should be able to agree that when someone receives a death threat or a threat of physical violence that those things are investigated Period end of story whether you're a senator from Texas who takes vacations during the middle of a once in a century ice storm Or whether you're a school board member I mean and meanwhile Matt Gates is always the right wingers that are whining They're the only ones that whine about their death threats right That's only important when it's against you know but I mean the fact is I feel like I do put a lot of this at Trump's feet A long time ago he just upped the rhetoric starting with his own rhetoric at rallies and wherever that it just I'm not surprised are you That we have death threats and a new level for everything but it's just I think at this point it would be very hard to surprise me about anything Particularly from Trump but this is a guy who when violence happened at his rallies he encouraged that he offered to defend the people that were violent So it's not surprising But it is disappointing that anybody would defend it Yeah Let me just give you one senator Booker and then we'll move on from this Booker at the same school board violence hearing here There's been a disturbing spike in harassment intimidation and threats of violence against school administrators board members teachers and staff who participate in the vital work of running our nation's public schools Is that true Yes sir I mean it is true It is true I have a list of very disturbing incidents In Texas apparent physically assaulted a teacher 2021 in Pennsylvania a person posted threats in social media which required police to station outside of a school digital law enforcement investigating the person I can keep going Ohio school board member was threatening letter that began with we are coming from you Yes So what they were making all this drama over Carl was the sorry the memo from the national school boards association which I assume you're in It said some of these threats could be equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism That is true isn't it I mean and this is what they're trying to get Merrick Garland to resign over something he didn't even write but the term that was used I mean what is this if it's not domestic terrorism threatening to people punching teachers and threatening to kill school board and members Well that's just the thing This has nothing to do with people showing up Meetings and articulating their view on policy or they're just taste for their elected officials It has nothing to do with people expressing their opinion in favor or against curriculum or any subject partner schools There's nothing to do with people emailing their elected officials or their teachers or anything else It has to do with actionable threats of violence or threats of threats on the life of these people And so that's what we're talking about here Nobody is trying to do the opposite No one is saying that nobody should be able to reach out to and express their opinions about even in very harsh terms if they want to Yeah I mean Carl I was just looking at this stack because I wanted to ask you next about kids getting vaccinated I'm looking at Neil cavuto shares that he's gotten death threats for just revealing that he got COVID And thank God he had the vaccine or it would have been worse because he has MS and he's a heart and a cancer disease survivor I mean that's where we're at is flux.

Henrique mr coaches a guest in the house. Neither by my wish nor my imitation willie's by mind and if you weren't such an unknown accountable gal you'll be glad of it. Handsome fellow anti slab up to the mark to as you say yourself. I should never describe mr coating such times. Don't put on the mris jazz with mean now lord news you use all sorts of sporting lingo. Certainly i trust however that i am in general veracious she retorted. I'm not surprised that fine on two of yours couldn't nabal a husband for you. He said nettle. You would damn nasty tongue in your head. I can tell you this long. Meg like you can't afford to put up the backs of people as you do. That is the second european so obligingness to tell me. And no more interesting to me than the i have anything more to say. Yes i have. I wish you will coordinate a little common civility. It's not very pleasant thing for me to have. My cousin behaving like woo would have thought you would have been pleased with the very flattering distinction. Here chords you. I don't know what you think is to become a you when the old man slips wind. You needn't look to me to revive for you for more than the title and date mortgaged to the hilt. I you had in the country to suggest that. I i know. Stornoway should encourage the advances of coat. She demanded perhaps you think he would make a suitable match for me. Well he muttered his is shifting from. Has you might do worth and you're not likely to do better half. I don't say. I never spoke of marriage off the wall. I care voice. You should make his visit agreeable. You don't give a fig the awkwardness of my position. You open your mouth at the dinner table ten to one. It is only say something cutting the net. Yes indeed you fancy that. He must be sensible by now. Would you not that. His presence at collins is only less distasteful to me than the extremely improper style of his advanced. But no a woman of address would know how to turn it off without flying into a myth. Yes and some women. No doubt are more fortunate than i in those male relatives. Judy might be thought to guard them from such unwanted attentions. He's arrived often never having paid any mind to his inheritance because unfortunately knows brother. Jemaine died in the same war. That's captain jack is fourteen and so she can't inherit the estates grandfather's very ill lord stornoway. The squire said it's terrible to outlive your generation. And i think that that idea of being so old and having a lot of your friends pass away and really being on your own is something that that people still really deal with. And so i really felt bad for the squire and how he wanted to make sure nell was taking care of. He wanted to not have the cousin who was just totally. Not a good person take over his estate but he didn't have the power to to do that. Henry's da basically and he's rocked up. Even the state's gone to seed nells being selling her jewelry and everything to keep it going and so no one can really understand why henry's turned up to come and stay any sport with him. This awful person called nathaniel coat. Look pretty good description of them. I think when. John susan for the first time but they described the way dressed and everybody kind of acts a little buffoonish around him to not sort of lead on that they might be a threat because a suspect coats of something but they don't know what they don't like that he's there stong away. The grandfather wants them out but he wants to find out why he's there first so he kind of leaves that to john equals matic meet with him and get a sense of who. This guy is seems to be paying court to his granddaughter. Join us very keen. That doesn't glomming onto the fact that he's got brains and he's very good behaving like a big man mountain buffoon there are. The blue boar was the name of the bar. Yeah that's right. That part i thought was very funny because we're seeing everything through john's perspective but then it also mentioned that the bartender catches onto what john is doing and then also kind of plays dumb. 'cause it's kind of a remote area it's not like in a big city so this guy comes in. He's very fancy draft but sort of also still badly. Yeah it's like really loud waistcoats and you know just like very high staunched cola. And i thought it was amusing because jack was literally stunned. He didn't have to pretend too hot to be really stupid looking right because he sort of staring at him dumbfounded with the way that he's dressed. I think quite a few really funny. That senate is quite amusing. Who i the whole area. Just kind of bands together. They all support. Now they see her almost the squire and they dislike henry and seamus intellect. Buzzer they all quite prepared to sort of help and aid in a bit john. Young doesn't seem like anybody really buys the story but they are all fine with him being there because they don't like this other guy so much which i think is really funny. It sort of reminded me of hamilton. How hamilton and aaron burr meet and then a hamilton meets all of his other friends. And it's like a running joke for the rest of the play that all of his other friends hate aaron burr. Yes there's a couple of lines in some of the songs about they just kind of keep throwing her under the bus as a joke. And that's sort of the vibe. That i got from this. Where in how did he kind of shows up late to everything. And in sodas. Johnny kind of wanders into the situation. He's not sure what's going on. He comes up with this kind of thin cover story about being somebody's cousin and everyone's just decides we don't believe you but also will you please help deal with this guy. We hate him so much. Please make him leave. They're going about his likeability that he's someone who really manages to endear himself very easily and any kind of is quite savvy as well but how he deals with people so i guess the next big point is the bow street. Runner turns up. Mr sto gomba. Mr sto gumbo is a bow street runner. They appear quite a few of has books particularly where. There's an element of invention derring-do attached to this story. I didn't know much about them. Beyond the fact that they were considered the first british police force. It's really odd to think that there was a time before proper releasing when in fact the law was in the hands of regular citizens like you. And i i can think of many ways that could go wrong. Naturally there were high rates of corruption and mistaken militias arrest. Because of course there were so a cia cold judge henry fielding decided to regulate an legalize a group of men who had become the most runners previously. They'd been an informal group called thief takers. Men would solve petty crime for a fee but these individuals grew famous for extorting money from people and in some cases staging robberies in order to receive the reward so there was removed to create a more professional force to enact justice for the first time in the eighteenth century. The bow street runners would receive fees from the magistrate and central government. Working from feelings office in court at number four bow street. I like modern police. They didn't patrol but served writs and arrested offenders. On the authority of the magistrates trifling national wide apprehend criminals both henry fielding and his brother justice john fielding who succeeded him as magistrate in the bow street office developed this force into such success but they ultimately gained recognition from the government over the next eight years. The bow street runners would serve as a guiding principle. The way that policing developed.

"Been recorded. You can be my dixie chicken. i'll be your tennessee. Lamb and That's the saturday action. We come back on sunday and Was actually an interesting maiden group. It looks like there might be Josie got taylor mineshaft I wanna point out in that fourth race ron. I don't know how much work you've done on the On the sunday card but josie is also got hertrich fielding The lemon drop kid. Desert eagle for The earl of mac and I thought this race had Kind of an important look as a midseason three-year-old opportunity. Yeah i picked tale mine shop You know she was third first time out to going seven. And now she's stretching those sixteen and of course she you know she had to run long sort of top and bottom so She could actually Here in here. She could run back in the oakland three weeks ago. That's a pretty important race for the lukewarm paper. In the race. I would think yeah turn to the stakes and the marine for three year olds and Here we we've got. The number is even though it's a small field is quite a few horses. That people are going to be familiar with because of their winter seasons and and also some connection type stories including frosted over The impressive maiden winner last out but of course that we got familiar with During the winter. This is gary barber and watts humphrey Bread frosted colt There's also easy time for cassie for breeze. Easy that we saw at Down at gulfstream Over the winter. And i got a mentioned haddassah For kevin hr and our friends. The old wellings The home-bred air force blue gelding out of lady. Dasa and Coming out of a pretty good seasonal effort actually off the long layoff third in that allowance facing elders. Now back against three year olds only in the marine. Yeah that that was a really tough allowance. i mean town crews came back to win two other than The split of the aforementioned race we talked about on the turf and The english conquer the runner up came back to be third and ballot checks allowance. Win so adopts you know. Look like he was supposed to win that race but that race was really fast and difficult. And i think it sets up nice for this and you i. I watched them. Work Three-quarters twelve and changed the other day by himself. I think he's sitting a really big race and kevin tarte stirred meet off slow but he won two races yesterday. I two for the wellings so I think dasa. I is live in here and yet it's not an easy spy like like you mentioned the to cassie runners and the marks really high on easy time i mean he. He loved his work the other day. Here in mid one on on topeka He felt the torch should have won his last race. At gulfstream in february on the terp he had a troubled trip and He's really loved the way the courses come back this not this time called and like you say processed over a perfect trip when he broke his maiden going seven on the topeka off a layoff on the twentieth so You know both of these horses are bred to run run along on the topeka so And the title forces He's a he's a sampson ontario. Bread unbeaten in two starts. He's prepping for the queen's plate. I mean you know the horses who run well. The interior brits who run well in this race will probably run back in play trial and three weeks and then the plate is three weeks after that on august. Twenty seconds so i think title forces is a pretty serious For south is Allowance win over. St three year olds on topeka. A couple of weeks ago on anyone is only other. Start breaking his maiden that Costume on the grass for gail cox so with Leaving writer emma wilson award so Yeah it's a small field Candy overload is a cross entered in both stakes but He might end up in the the queen's going short annex grinding interesting horse to steve. I mean kevin. Atari teenage son owns the course and saw the train. He doesn't are so His his comeback was pretty good. I mean he's he's not out of the realm of possibility with justin stein writing off third allowance race. Nice a six pack with Virtually everybody you know. Having having a shot. That's the marine goes at four twenty four on sunday and leads in to the Quinson and this is restricted. And there's actually a number of horses in here that people are are also going to be familiar with starting with gretzky the great Who gets back to woodbine. and of course Kind of started his career as as a sprinter and has stretched out gets back to A sprint configuration You got the presence of Master spy in here. The tracy farmer and just not named power alone and and also as i mentioned fairly frequently my friendship with john fielding which goes back to the nineties in my other life del griffith At of course the john candy for tag inist in planes trains and automobiles Just a tremendous candy ride out a terror court but You know nick. Alexander names They've horses in california. After you know baseball players and historic figures del griffith a wonderful name by fielding hertrich. Yeah surprising supplement to the race He's twenty one on the line off of a slow maiden first win that gulfstream. But you know the kim ham when he ships here i mean he's he's won a lot of stakes here shipping in from press. Kyle so This one's a bit of a reach but i respect the trainer a lot Gretzky degree now he. He's to on the line. He was champion. Two year olds in canada last year. His to peter races You know early in the back in the winter where you know so so at at At turfing now no one. I talked to mark a week ago. He said this horse has been dealing with a quarter crack so he said to me if he works good on the weekend if he works okay. I'm gonna run back in the quinson. He worked five.

"Of mine, a Texas ex, A good golfer now writes for golf dot com. Zephyr Welcome back to the show and right now, Russell Henley from the University of Georgia, who has won three times on tour. Is the leader at minus four. Francesco Molinari is at three under, along with Rafa Cabrera Bello at 32 of the favorite for this week or in the clubhouse at minus two. Brooks Capta as under shuffling at minus two, Zephyr, What has, uh, caught or captured your attention this first day of the U. S open and welcome back. To your Austin radio station. Yeah, thanks for thanks for having me And you know, I think the first thing that jumps out is just Brooks Capital once again, being at the probable leaderboard enough, we talk about it. I feel like every major that he just the man just shows up in the biggest moments and at a certain point, it should not be surprising for some reason they keep being surprised by it. Really impressed by his place so far, and then, uh, you know, like you said, then to playing while close to home is also an intriguing storyline. So you know, we're only halfway through day one, and we've already got some great stories. Developing Zephyr at your brother Beato. Welcome back to sports Talk here. Why am I such a dumb ass and had the belief that Phil Mickelson would do something spectacular on day one of the U. S open. Yeah, I mean, You know, after his PGA Championship run it kind of made made everyone want to believe that he can pull this off. But, you know Just that that his advanced age quite defeat to, uh, pull off another another surprise win like that. Just You know, months later, so, but, I mean, he's only through one round. So, um, if you could come back tomorrow and put together something solid, get himself back inside the cut line and you know anything can happen on the weekend. But, yeah, it was tough stance, struggled with that Zephyr. Very polite of you to say advanced to stage and Clement just called him an old ass man. So if Yeah, I want to. I want to be respectful of of my my elder. Be careful. Don't want to piss off anyone. Uh, I've got older people down there and often works in the station. So anyway, do you enjoy the U. S Open's effort because a lot of people don't because the U. S G makes it so darn tough, But Russell Henley And Francesco Montanari were able to have good rounds under par. Is the rough too high? Is this good golf watching to use effort? I mean, I enjoy it. I think the US year, especially in recent years since Dialed it back a little bit. They haven't made it just, you know so hard, but everyone's complaining all the time. Uh, you know, Russell Henley shot four under today. But it's kind of like last year at wink that early on in the tournament, Everyone was kind of putting up good numbers, and then they progressively made the course a little bit harder each day, so I think By the end of the Week. I think we'll see a handful of people under part, but not too many. Beyond that. They think it's good golf watching. I enjoy watching these guys beat. Challenged and you know good shots are still rewarded, but bad shots are punished more severely. Zebra. I love your intel when it comes to the PJ engulf in general. Last time we talked you put wills. Alatorre is on our map Do you have with these conditions? I don't know if it's a dark horse, but just somebody who might not be pinging on all of our radars. Who you think might surprise a lot of folks this week. Well, I think, uh, Derek Hago, I think would be someone that I would say, um, you know, maybe not a dark horse, um, for international fans, but for from American camps, I think for sure, he's one Twice on the European tour in the last few months. And then, of course last week he wanted Congaree. And the guy has just been playing some beautiful golf worldwide over the last few months. No, no, he's got PGA Tour membership, but think he'll Be a mainstay over here stateside. But, yeah, that guy's got a hell of a lot of talent, And I think one surprised to see him play well this week. Safra Melton is with this assistant editor of golf dot com. He's a Texas ex used to live in Austin. The Dream threesome. Well, it's It's It's a great dream Threesome for Dallas, Jordan, Spieth, Scottie Scheffler and wills out of Taurus. I think that's a tremendous peering because those guys play all the time at marriage. Oh, and Preston trail together your thoughts on that pairing today and tomorrow. Yeah, it's awesome. I actually just tweeted about it. I'm really excited to watch those guys play. It's making me a little, um, full homesick or, you know taxes. Not being able to, you know, get some of those, uh, comfort such as one of Burger or Bucky. Great, big stuff like that. So, Yeah, it's really cool. Seeing those three guys three. Three Great taxes plan and one group, and, um, yeah, it's awesome that all of them when playing such solid golf over the last year, so so excited to have them on and try and Sunday night and kick back and launch it. As ever. I want to get your thoughts on on a local here amateur here in just a second, But I'm noticing this article that says bettors have sports book facing seven figure liability long shot Phil Mickelson at the US Open golf tournament. Apparently so much action came in, and the odds were 50 to 1 that, uh, the bookmaker says it's expecting to have a seven figure liability on that 50 to 1 long shot ahead. That's that's incredible By the way, Scottie Scheffler birdied the first hole. He's one on the par on the course ends ever. My question is, um, another Longhorn current, as a matter of fact, is now plus two through to do you have any insight on coal Hammer, who had such a great collegiate season and then found his way blows it? A Finnish person bowed out, Ed Finland Co. Yeah, guy from Finland bound out about out so cold Hammer squeaked in there. I mean, like, Do you have any insight on our very own coal hammers ever Yeah. I mean, Cole is a heck of a player. I actually got clean. Play up close, Um, last month at the Walker Cup down it seminal. So I got to see him and Pearson Qd. Actually, he's also in the field. But, you know, just those two guys, um Just John Field keeps pumping out these quality players, and I think you'll see those guys on tour within the next few years..

"The first since Justin Verlander against Toronto. Back in 2000 and 11. No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Whoa, whoa. Yeah. E love the No. The Frank No, no, um s Oh, yeah. There you got, there was I mean, he look, the thing with Spencer Turnbull is he's always had this stuff. It's just putting it together and he finally did it, which is awesome. Speaking of putting it together, You know, I was putting it together. The U. S. P B o United your professional Baseball league. A shortened season last year, and now they're coming back in and look the Andy Appleby, who owns the whole thing, Uh, what's your favorite part of bringing people back to the ballpark? I know you're a big baseball guy, but in terms of bringing everybody back in for this season, what are you looking most forward to You know, Chris, I really miss the smiles. I know that sounds crazy. But you know when you have a business where everyone who comes in smiling when they're at the game, they're smiling. And when they're leaving their smiling, it zah really wonderful thing, and we had a little bit of that last year with our 100 or 200 fans. But nothing like this year when we're hopefully going to be back to normal. Yeah. I mean, I don't even think you played 40 games last year, and you know, just with everything surrounding Covad. It was just it was. It was a tough situation to be in as a business owner and operating. Ah, league. Um, so with that being said, now you're getting back to normal. Here. You're getting you're gonna get people back in the sands, Which is cool. What's your plan for folks coming in? Like, what's the what? The protocol is gonna be. Yes. So we're still kind of working that out, Chris, you know, last year we had a 224 page covert protocol program. Believe it or not to 24 pages. Yeah, 224. Pages. You know for employees, customers, you know, we had temperature checks and all of that kind of thing this year. Of course, things are changing so dramatically. There might be a real lowering of the restrictions here in the next couple of weeks, or maybe no restrictions, which would be our druthers. But right now, we don't need to do temperature checks Mass are optional on and we're hoping that we don't have to do the six FT of Social distance. Thing on, then we can just be back toe absolute normal. But what's so interesting when you go over there these days is and people coming again for the first time after two years, it's almost like a grand re opening. I mean, who gets a chance to, uh, you know, open their beautiful stadium twice, and I feel that way. And, of course, as you can tell, I'm more of a glass half full guy. It's great, because I mean, look, Jimmy John's field is a beautiful facility. You cannot really good baseball toe to show the people. So, um, what are the expectations for for the for the games this year? I mean, this is gonna be it's gonna be a lot of fun and write your kind of bringing it back for a second round here. It was like a soft opening before. Now, the game's really gonna get underway. Well, exactly. And, you know, people are seeing it and they're saying, Oh, my gosh, a baseball field And as we know, you know, when you see a baseball diamond, I don't care if it's a little league field, you know, you start to decompress as human being. Things. And, uh, but, you know, we actually have a slogan this year, Chris bringing back the fund and 2021. So even before all these restrictions were lifted, we are. We made a commitment to our fans that we would still have now. Fireworks every Friday night a live band every Saturday. We have a 250 person, strong dance crew who really couldn't perform last year because we had such a limit on people. Um and what we have are bad dog back. Whiffle ball field magician, you name it A Xeni. One knows it's much more than just a baseball game. But I think you touched on something interesting if we were having this conversation. Five years ago, I would have said Hey, if we can get one or two players signed, I'll be happy. But interestingly enough now we've had 38 players signed, including Randi dot net, could just signed a $10 million contract. And if he was on the line right now, he would tell you that there's no way he'd even be playing baseball today. Right without the advent of our league, So it's it's been gratifying, and one other thing I miss Chris is really being able to give back to the community. Believe it or not, we have over 1000 different charities that leverage the ballpark each summer to raise money, and they'll all be back and droves this year. I'm sure so so it's really exciting. And you know, we just can't wait to get started. Well, you know, if you need any updates at the ballpark, you know which players you gotta go to now because they've got they got a little extra in their pockets for you coming up. Went Tonto was that a tiger game the other day. And hadn't been an obviously quite a while. And I can't tell you How much I missed it. How much I missed having a beer and some peanuts and just watching the baseball game now, the magical thing about about us, PBL and Jimmy John's field, is it High level talent. But in addition, it's it's It's a totally different environment, especially for families. If you got young kids, there is no better place to see a ball game. Thing. Jimmy John's field there just really isn't well, You know, Chris because of the wonderful partnerships that we've created, it really allowed me to invest in the game presentation. So you talk about making an impact on the family unit. You know, the family can come and literally park for free. Come for $24 a family of four sitting on the lawn with their blanket, and they literally get to give their kids a multi million dollar game presentation. That is his.

Yeah. Hey, a way ought to mention of the Walker Cup last week. Yes, because the UT players managed to bring home 5.5 points. Oh, man. For Nathaniel Crosby, Pearson, Pearson, Cudi and Cole Hammer had really, really good tournaments. They overcame the stomach bug to help lead the Americans over Great Britain and Ireland. Both those guys Cole Hammer and Pearson could he played in the Byron Nelson weeks with this week, neither made the cut. Boy call came very close. He had a 68 71 he missed by a shot. But they travel tomorrow, Scotty, UT men will be heading to Noblesville, Indiana, right outside Indianapolis for the incidentally regional tournament that begins next week, and they're the number one seed. It's gonna be a Sycamore club. And then the UT women will be traveling the Scottsdale in a few days to play in the N C double a championship. At the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale. So best of luck to Ryan Murphy's women's team and, of course, John Field and John Paul, a Bear's men field, So we look for great things from our Texas men's and women's golf team. Cole got up to a great start, like all of our guys did, and they just kept their foot on the gas pedal and We got up there in a tie for first and one round left, so Great round tomorrow. Go long way, Coach Fields, Jason Daycare we met before. Don't worry, I wouldn't remember me either. It was the grand opening of top golf here in Austin. I was the you know. Yeah, I was the emcee. You were there that night. Great NBA. Great. Robert Orry was there and I asked, you tol value. Wait my swing on the fly. I put down the microphone and then I peered in eight iron 165 down the middle. And you said to me, coach. Was better than I was expecting. Which since that day I I'm good. Yeah. And you're equally good on the radio. Well, well, no. Yes, um, eligibility. He graduated from UT coach, but he's got some eligibility left. I was gonna tell you, Coach I Since that day have rested on my laurels and stop practicing. My game is played Toad. Do you ever tell any of the actual golfers at UT? That was better than I expected? Once in a while, that happens what I will say is that the best one of the day Um, when they get a fantastic golf shot But these guys, they're pretty good golfers. They They're matriculating up to the PGA Tour. They stop with us and get a great education and then hopefully go out and Try to hang with some of the guys we have out there right now, like a Jordan speed there, Dylan for Telly or Jonathan Vegas. Um, Brandon Stone. There's there's several of them and we were all excited about this opportunity tomorrow, but they have big plans for their future and they work really hard. Coach Fields. Thanks for taking the time. Vito here. Good luck tomorrow. Of course. Hokum. Tell us a little bit about like the Big three that are kind of duking it out up there. We got Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. A lot of bad blood betwixt the two brothers from Oklahoma. And, of course, Texas in the mix is well, just how much juice here doesn't make this push towards the championship. I'll tell you. It's been incredible Covert year. Um we knew going out the beginning of this year that these three teams would like to be in the top five. Texas Tech is great teams. And so is Baylor. They're not having their best tournament. That doesn't mean they couldn't have a great round tomorrow. But I originally thought that all five of those teams would be a top 10 selection this year and It's proved out for the three of us were actually in the top five, along with Oklahoma's ranked number one and Depending on what poll. You're looking at Oklahoma State's either two or three and it'll be a challenge and and there's really There's great competition. All these kids know each other from the time they're junior golfers playing on the American Junior Golf Tour or the Texas Junior Golf Tour, and they're they're good friends, But I can tell you they When they when they step on the first tee. It's like a fighter stepping in the ring. They need to be ready to rock and they will be This is a worldwide game and you just have to look at to see the three leaders in the medalist race. Cole Hammer, Ludwig Hedberg and Bo Jim Cole Hammer from Houston. Lewd, big ad Berg from Texas Tech and ends Low, Sweden and Bo Jin from Bang Beijing, China. It is an international sport, isn't it? Coach? Well, there's no question um The Gulf is a worldwide game now and A lot of these countries fun there. Junior broke programs to ah, large extent and create opportunities for their kids. Mom, Woman Turkey laid here to college golf. We've been the recipient of the recipient of that as well. When we won the national championship in 2012 Jordan speak was our number one player. Feeling for telling from South Africa was number two. Cody Gribble was number three from Doubt. Dallas, Texas and then we had Tony Ocular from Finland and Julio Vegas from Venezuela. So from time to time, we've got a team that might look a little bit similar to that. At this point in time. These kids are all from Texas, and they're ready to go. Watch what you're looking for tomorrow. I know that to 72. That was that That might have been the lowest you've staked shot all year. Maybe Laredo..

"J We're gonna have grace, right? Sherry, John Fields, Longhorn and golf coach in the next segment. Hold on for that tomorrow. Maybe we do it around this time. I want to. You know, there's over unders on basically every player in the draft when they're gonna be drafted, huh? Nothing would be finding the figure out a way. Where you think some of these guys, we're gonna go? I think a good deal was we can we can talk about this. If I can interject, please, who will be drafted first? Shane Boo show. Sam Mellinger vibe in with me today I Clement's because that's what I was just gonna bring up your dining. You will know you were breaking bread with bread bed breaking bread with us. Sam Mellinger there. Sam was there of Casey Thompson and his family. What would you think this is an impossible one. But over under what? Pick family. I think he's gonna be in the fifth round. Think fourth or fifth round. You would bet the under on the number that's out there then because it's the over under I I felt bad for my dude. When I saw this today it's 2 30 a half that's such a high number. I have to stop and start doing the math. On what what round? That is. That would make him 1/7 round pick. As a matter of fact, there's on Lee. If seven teams making of all 32 teams make seven picks, That's only 224 picks and they have the numbers that at 2 30, I'm like, How can that happen? Then there's compensatory picks and some of the rounds have Maura than 32 picks. I don't know how that works, but yeah, they had They have unless I don't know. Maybe though, the lines makers out there they don't know about Sam. Anything like that. But they have it basically said that is this guy going to be drafted? Yeah, it seemed like maybe a mid round type selection. But now at least according to the oddsmakers, Sam Mellinger seven Fish round. Oh, my gosh. Well, head, Clements will draft him right now. I would draft him because he thinks the guy's got a big heart. He's armed. His arm's getting well and I think he's a winner. Well, I got to jump in here real quick because this is news that we also need to know about the rest of this week. We have F one tickets to give away. I saw that I was like F one is coming back to the circuit of the Americas. The musical performances will be announced later in May. But in the meantime, we've got f one tickets for you the rest of this week. So before we get out of here today, keep listening. Today. There's a flight ticket for your chance to win f one tickets, courtesy of sports talk and those. Yeah, The musical acts that our company, a company, f one, usually super duper big time. So you endure all I would say, you know, sir Elton, Sir Elton and I broke broke bread together, me and this is me and t sizzle reel Taylor Swift. We shared some bread. Really? What? Taylor Swift, big. Who's it gonna be this year? Who's it gonna be? Who's it gonna be? They don't tell me because they know that I would I would spill the beans. All right, quickly. Three minutes on baseball. That's all we can stomach right. This is dumb. The Pioneer League you guys know about the Pioneer League. It's ah! Legendary independent league designated an MLB partner. They they've been using it to experiment with rule changes through the last couple years, and today they announced That instead of playing extra innings, you know they're going to do in the Pioneer League. Hey, paroxysm. They get to the end of nine tied Home run Derby. Oh my God. I have used this in an example to Lam Bast soccer in the past because of how much I hate. The penalty kicks shoot out. I'm like your you've played an entire did contest of this sport, and now we get to the end and it's tied, So we're just gonna totally change the game. That's like basketball, saying up Tie Game Slam dunk contest. That's like baseball saying Tie game. Let's just two home run Derby and now the Pioneer League home run Derby are actually doing it. Oh, my gosh, That is that's not baseball. That's not baseball, not baseball. In the release, quote under the rule, each team designates a hitter who receives five pitches with the game determined by the most home runs hit. Okay, it's still tied after the first knockout round. Another hitter selected for a sudden death home run face off until a winner who gets to pitch to said hitter. Right again. You watch the home run Derby. He's the All Star game. You know, Bryce Harper brings his dad out throwing pitches and guys, you know where it's going. You know how speak soon? Yeah, it would be a bad impact Practice pitcher is not gonna be in opposing pitcher because if you only get five pitches, they're not gonna hit any of them. Those home runs there and did very rarely have it. And so this is I was kind of saying this one. They're talking about the new college overtime thing that they're now after. What is it the second overtime going to go to the two point conversion shootout? I would like to see veto your daughter, the softball pictures. She could do that work for that leg. She could she could do the home run Derby. Just boom underneath. Boom underneath Boom, I run a buyer running buyer. They're also experimenting with a designated pinch hitter rule where you'd be allowed to pinch hit for a guy but then put them back into the into the lineup, and it's no problem with that. That's not baseball. But it's kind of fun on then also a designated pinch runner. Or you can run for a player but not have to remove them from the lineup. Softball players like Beat on myself very familiar with the courtesy runner rule, which I took. One of the two names mentioned is very familiar with that. I am very familiar, You know, Pandemic times. I have not played softball in my noose felt her body. Yeah, you know, I might be able to remember, But now I get the third. I'm still using courtesy, right? Yeah, I miss that so much. If I ever have even make it to third base, something has gone tremendously arrive for the defense. Why aren't you playing softball?.
"john fields" Discussed on The Garden Report | Boston Celtics Post Game Show from TD Garden
"The minutes management and I just think we set up before the before the season if Kemba Walker can't come back and be close to Kemba Walker team has no chance and we saw that a number of times this season when he wasn't playing her when he wasn't himself. So the fact that he's very close now. It's now it's goes the boss back to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Where are these guys, you know, because now it seems like like you said John can they all coexist? Well, then again, I just want to close the loop on the chemicals. It's a it's an annoying conversation every single time. He has a good game and see John he's not going to move. Where do I take my capable of good games Norms might take away from this game. Wait till year four of the contract. I don't give a crap about that. I'm just simply saying what it said that I've literally thought you said in the group chat prior to the season was I'm worried about this guy. I think his knee is messed up. I think Danny's trying to make sure I would absolutely bail here. That's it. That's that that's I said from day one. That was the wrong move and I still think it is even if you were able to get like fair value for every now whatever you laugh change over it, you know, so yeah, but whenever you think fair value and it's right now you have a plays. Well Keva play grape Celtics need Kevin to play grade. This was a great game if you had this Kemba Walker, All year long you're thrilled. I ask you again. Yeah me ask you again guys, if you could trade it in for a fair-value right now, whatever you think that is would you do it? I don't know. I don't like that question cuz I don't know who the it's going to I don't know whatever you think whatever you think the right return is for Kemba. Yeah, that's a hard. How do you gauge what I'll throw out all throughout the the one I brought up yesterday if you can if if apparently never going to get it was never going to re-sign a Houston. He's going to be a free agent at the end of the year if the Celtics are dead set of getting away from Kemba Walker's contract if they feel the same way John Fields were like, we don't trust this guy's me in year three or four then you would like to get rid of my contract if you can bring somebody in like Oladipo and if you have to flip if you have to trade them something else to entice them to take him but walk or whether some sort of pick package. Would you be much worse than aren't you home? 10 times where I know you're you're not but that's just not 10th. Kemba Walker's ten times better than Victor Oladipo with Auto Depot shooting this year like thirties thirty-nine a really bad..
