"A lot of veterans there, you bring over Mark Lewinsky from Indy. He was part of an elite O line for the past few seasons. I think John Feliciano is a guy that we've probably talked about more than any podcast ever. He's slated to be the starting center. He just has an ability to handle blitz situations. He knows Dave balls offense. He's coming over from buffalo. And then you have Shane lemieux. I think he's got some question marks a guard, especially after a serious injury last season. It's possible their third round rookie guard from UNC. Joshua zoo steps in at some point, depth is certainly a question mark. But I think the line does have the ability to potentially fight to be average. And I think that's probably a breath of fresh air for giants fans to hear. Receiver group is interesting. You kind of touched on this. And it's the most expensive in the NFL, but it's a unit that grossly underperformed last season. And you look at when giants receivers were targeted, led to the second or success rate in the NFL. The unit is kind of being viewed forward facing as an abject disaster. But to me, it's clear it has talent. And so when you look at gallaudet, you look at kadarius Tony. Shepherd, when he eventually returns and while Wanda Robinson was probably overdrafted. He's been solid enough through the early part of camp and Dave ball clearly saw it defined role for one del Robinson when he drafted him. You also look at the projected schedule, giants are projected to face a bottom 5 schedule of past defenses. So I think you're pointing the stock arrow up on the receiver group, even though it's wildly overpaid. I mean, worst case Sequoia worst case scenario, they can always line up Andrew Thomas a wide receiver. He had more touchdown receptions than kadarius Tony and Kenny gallaudet combined a season ago. Yeah, yeah. Listen, you spent money on gallaudet. I don't think he turned a complete dog food overnight. There's a reason he got the contract even though it was probably more than he was worth. He had productive seasons and you look at that offensive staff. Not good, right? And so I think this is where the glimmer of hope for a lot of giants fans and a lot of analytics guys and a lot of pro betters are kind of viewing things for the Giants that just coaching alone is really going to improve this offense. Saquon is in a contract here. He's still just 25. And I think that's the interesting element. Is that Brian dabel didn't draft him? So I think he's in the perfect spot and that they bought one so he can run Barclay into the ground, give him carries and targets in the past game. And if Barkley looks like the number two pick, something he hasn't looked like. Dave ball is a genius. He gets injured again. Yeah, that's the neck on saquon. And the giant's own $0 past this season and everyone just moves on. So I think we're going to get a decent saquon Barkley this year. Daniel Jones obviously is a polarizing quarterback. And listen, if you watch Daniel Jones and know what you're looking for, there's certain throws he can't make. Shouldn't have been drafted 6th overall. But there is certainly enough to work with there. He's clearly superior to Sam darnold, despite being thought of in the same light by many. And when you think about Daniel Jones first three seasons in the league, it's been this revolving door across the board in that 2019 Jones is working with pat Shermer and Mike Shula. In 2020, it's Joe judge and Jason Garrett in 2021, it's Jason Garrett and Freddie kitchens. Over those three seasons, the Giants offensive line to average out to be the worst in the NFL. The skill position talent around Jones had been injured at a rate far above the league average. And yet, Daniel Jones over this three year period is in the 64th percentile in QBR. Horrific offensive minds that are constantly rotating. Horrific O line play, skill position guys that are injured through the wazoo and yet Daniel Jones is above the 50th percentile. So I'm interested to see what happens there. Last year, when Jones went down with an injury, giant's offense averaged 1.2 yards less per play without him. Dipped in EPA by .2 yards per play. So I think those are some interesting things. I think we're hopeful to see a better version of Daniel Jones in 2022 working with an improved scheme game planning play calling offensive line injury luck to the skill positions in a schedule of defenses that projects to be bottom ten in the NFL. We know the Giants obviously declined the option for Daniel Jones in his 5th year. In your opinion, going into this year, do you believe Daniel Jones will be the starting quarterback in 2023 for the New York Giants when we're doing these previews a year from now? I have no idea. Honestly, I have no idea. I think at some point you have to figure out and this will be the year if he's the guy moving forward. They were so bad last year with scheme and injuries. That you really couldn't figure out if he was your future quarterback. It's a fair assessment. I mean, it's all these are questions that and I'm not trying to bust your balls, but these are hot take TV types. No, I understand. I don't know that I don't know the answer to that. And I don't think anyone actually does. They are going to go about this. And I shouldn't say I've spoken to them directly. But Kafka is brilliant. Is this the quarterback that Kafka launch? Is this the quarterback that Brian day ball wants? And ultimately, if they can get enough out of him, there's probably a situation where you sign them on a short term deal. Or do you just say, hey, we have the confidence of the GM because we know that relationships long-lasting, right? Joe Shane comes over from buffalo. And I'm not trying to get into the Brian Flores stuff. But and I'm not a corporate guy either, but you know how this stuff unfolds. There are situations in life where knowing the right people is how you get jobs and Joe Shane and Brian Dave will have worked together forever. So I think the leash is long there. And that if we just said, hey, we won 7 games this year. We're still unsure if Daniel Jones is our franchise quarterback moving forward. Let's just say F it and move on. And even if we draft a young quarterback who isn't ready and in gear two, we end up only winning four or 5 games. That's fine. Because hopefully in year three, we've found our new rookie quarterback. There's also a situation here where you can say, hey, Daniel Jones is gone.

"Very much It's now 6 36 on Wall Street That's time for the Bloomberg sports update and here's John stat showing All right John no secret the Giants need to improve their offensive line They don't have a lot of salary cap space but I'm opening day of free agency They did add two offensive lineman Mark Lewinsky had been a starting guard with Indianapolis and center John Feliciano who was with buffalo another guard Lake and Tomlinson He's joining the jets coming from the forty-niners jets also got tight end CJ azuma from Cincinnati They reached on Braxton barrios who was an all pro last season as a kick returner tight end Evan engram leaving the Giants He was once their first round draft pick he's headed to Jacksonville Josh Donaldson joined the Yankees in Tampa the day after the big trade last year Donaldson while with the twins accused his now teammate Garrett Cole of using sticky stuff to help doctor the ball cold and stuck Donaldson out three times Whatever happened Obviously he felt like it was a better idea to probably strike me out but she did a few times So at the end of the day I'm happy to be on the same team And I have to strike out against him more Yankees have been in talks with Oakland about acquiring first baseman Matt Olson He's instead headed to Atlanta which means Freddie Freeman will likely not resign with the brave Nets way tonight in Orlando the unvaccinated Kyrie Irving couldn't play but did attend Sunday's home game also went into the nets locker room for doing that sitting in New York find the nets $50,000 Cameron Smith won The Rain delayed players championship golf in Florida by one shot John stash that one Bloomberg sports John All right John thanks a lot It is now 6 37 on Wall Street and that brings us to stocks and some of the names that are moving in the pre market this morning for that we're joined by Bloomberg radio and TV markets correspondent Gupta fresh offer 12 hour nap Fresh off my 12 hour nap folks I got so much sleep You're so refreshed So great Not to brag on a Tuesday but here we are You are seeing some futures higher when it comes to the NASDAQ 100 The S&P features kind of flat But underneath the hood only 16 stocks are actually higher in the pre market So that does tell you that there is looks like to be a little bit of pain here at the opening Let's talk about what is moving to the upside and that of course is going to be this airlines Delta coming out seeing one quarter or first quarter revenue excuse me about 78% recovered compared to 2019 levels That's a big deal because their previous view was 72 to 76% but that news is pulling up delta shares da L is your ticker up 1.1% in the pre market It's also pulling up the other airlines with it southwest for example LUV your ticker up 1% in the pre market UAL is for united up 7 tenths of 1% Even American Airlines catching a little bit of a bid here up four tenths of a percent AAL is your ticket there That's unusual on a day that's pretty risk off to see the airlines actually outperforming also keep in mind you are seeing some moves to the upside and the defense spaces a Lockheed Martin LMT is your ticker up four tenths of a person This looks like a continued bid from yesterday after Germany said it would purchase Lockheed Martin's F-35 warplanes as well as €15 fighters of course we know it is upgrading its military response creating a budget of a $110 billion to modernize its armed forces Of course on the back of Russia's invasion of Ukraine So you are seeing those defense names take a leg higher as well LMT like I said up four tenths of a percent But then there are some downside stories and we should stick to this Those downside stories for example are a lot of the oil companies Occidental zero XY is your worst performer this morning down 4.9% and with it some of those other oil names this really comes back on the idea of lower oil prices perhaps coming back on the idea of the China lockdown in Shenzhen This morning 97 24 is so under a $100 a barrel Ugly morning overnight in the Asian session Very ugly morning and once again it comes down to those COVID restrictions that they're putting in zero COVID policy It also comes down with some kind of concerns that perhaps China is the next country to be sanctioned just because of their ties to Russia and you're seeing that show up in those U.S. listed Chinese stocks The likes of Alibaba for example BAB as your tigger for the ADRs down 6 and a half percent in the pre market JD as well JD is also the ticker Also declining four and a half percent So keep an eye on those ADRs That's where you're seeing a lot of pain Yeah we were asking the question M live I should say was asking the questions My former employer Yeah And where are all the dip buyers Because they've jumped in since 2018 and so you know one of the questions to mold this morning as the NASDAQ futures turn green up 12 points right now Pretty Gupta from our markets team S&P futures right now two points lower and the NASDAQ the.

"It's in. Second one. By the way, how about our Deandre swift bet last week? Three carries zero yards. How many texts did you get? And FanDuel was like the day before they boost it. They make Deandre swift the number they were like, oh, good news. We boosted the swift bet. We somehow put them alloy on them. He was done. We basically for the horse head on his bed. He maybe got hurt. I don't know. I guess I'm carry a ball. He was already hurt. I walked away from the TV for two minutes that I see Jamal Williams getting like 5 carries in a row. I'm like, what's going on here? Unbelievable. Next one. Remember Minnesota and Dallas? Yeah. Well, we're bringing them back for a second piece. We're going to put them with the New England Patriots. Monday night games. We're waiting on this one. Monday night game, pat's plus two and a half. Gonna bring them to 8 and a half. Okay. I think it's a one score game either way. I'm just gonna make my case quickly. I think the Patriots are better. They have better coach. I think they're more well rounded. More importantly, I think they're tougher. I think they can bully ball the bills a little bit. Obviously scared Alan. No way. They lose weight last week, buffalo. Best guy in the team? Defensively, at least. They're getting some offensive line stuff back. Feliciano looks like he's coming back. But you're a big John Feliciano guy. Yeah, he'd say, he's good. Like, there's some good stats for him. But I just think the Pats are really good. This'll be Belichick has such a great history against buffalo, which went south last year for one year, but now it's back. I think they have a better team. I love that I can get points. If I can get this 8 and a half and it's a one score game, here's my fear. I'm gonna put it out on the table right now. We talk about our fears for a $1 million picks. It's a rookie QB on a Monday night. On the road. On the road. He could single handly submarine it back. Now, I went back, I looked at Wilson. He had his one shit game as a rookie. Roethlisberger had a couple shit games, but Pittsburgh was so good that year. They could win 13 7. Yeah. But they'd have he'd have games where he'd have zero to these two picks and they'd win 19 and 7. Like it almost didn't. It was a bonus if he played well. Max somewhere between those two worlds, right? It's a bonus if he plays well with the Pats, but they also he can't do those Roethlisberger games. If he's zero TDs and two picks, you're not gonna they're probably gonna lose. He's actually weirdly important to them. So that would be my fear. But I just like this past stamp and we've been riding them every week and somehow not winning money from them because we keep putting them in dumb teases. But in this case, the plus 8 and a half. So that marked that one down. Minnesota Dallas paths, then a third one that the paths are also going to be in. Standard, you can do 9 point teases. Minus one 15 are the odds. Paths to 11 and a half. 11 is the key number because once you get past that, basically, games are never 12, 13 points. It's always like 11 or 14. Pat's 11 half. The chiefs down to 0.5. Let's just have to beat the Broncos and arrowhead. Just have to beat the Broncos and arrowhead. I think they can do that. The bucks against Atlanta down to minus two. There is a split second where I was afraid of Atlanta in this game. Atlanta has four 20 point plus losses this year. Elena's 5 and 6, they beat Jacksonville, both New York teams, New Orleans and Miami, not impressive. Do you know whose last in DVO, Atlanta, is it the falcons, really? I was stunned. Would you have guessed that a million? Yeah. Yeah. You know who's first in DVO at Tampa? So you're telling me I can throw this in a tease. I'm getting the number one team in after 12 weeks against number 32. And they just have to win by a field goal. Feel pretty comfortable. Feel good. I mean, how good was Gronk last week? I wish they had brown. I still, but Brock looked like he was unbelievable. One 23, I think. And for that, for when it was great, great. What about our guy? Our Super Bowl hero. It's okay. He said he said moist Jersey. Yeah. Healthy? They were hoping that he would get fully healthy. We're gonna have to see game time decision, but out there. I can't tell you about Devin though. I don't know. All right. So what do you think chiefs, bucks, pats, bucks, pats all the way to 11 and a half bucks have to win by a field goal, chiefs have to win by one. I'm in on it. Let's go. Okay. All right, individual games. How you feeling about Bengals chargers? Bengals minus three in cincy make the case for one or the other. Okay, the case for Cincinnati is that they've kicked the shit out of teams the last 6 quarters. They're feeling themselves. The case against Cincinnati is that everyone is feeling Cincinnati. The last time they were given their roses and their bouquets, they lost to the jets. We've done this before. Less than three weeks ago, we crowned the Bengals. And they beat the crap out of the Raiders second half and then just did what they did to the Steelers. They're at home, this fan base is not had a game like this in years. Could you see Herbert coming in there and just slice them that defense up? Potentially. I would maybe stay away and yet they're really fun to root for. They're dominating up at the line of scrimmage and borough doesn't seem to be ever phased.

"The best passing game of his career when considering opponent in venue. One 58 passer rating last week when kept clean for KJ Jefferson 82% adjusted accuracy three touchdowns not a single turnover worthy throw. I'm not sure TJ Finley has that in him. And if he can't pass well enough, then suddenly bamme can kind of focus on stopping bigs being hunter. Your question at the top there. It's like, I don't know if all burns defense can continue to grind out this game. Auburn's defense 85th and EPA per pass a lot. Albums third and EPA per passive price young is just an absolute fire at this point he hasn't shown any holes in this game. He could throw accurately to all parts of the field and for a young quarterback, he's handled pressure, extremely well. He's handled the blitz very well. He takes care of the football just a 1.6% turnover worthy throw rate. Albert needs something early in this game to keep the emotions running on. It just feels like if TJ Finley can't be a semi competent passer, eventually auburn's defense just kind of wears down and breaks. And ultimately, that'll be the key. We know auburn's defense is the best part of auburn. It just feels like eventually, right? How many three announce can the offense have for Albert? Before the defense just kind of cracks. And so that will be key. You're going to need an early turnover. Maybe special teams touched on maybe a short field blunder that's set up by Alabama. Again, this number is a touch high. We made it more like 17 and a half. There's not a ton of difference between that in 19. It's not investable. It feels like a stay away game and to your point, it has lost some luster. Now, if somehow, Biggs B and hunter go out there and all burns offensive lines able to win at the point of attack. And you get Finley's legs going a little bit, maybe you can hang in this game if the defense shows out, but I think eventually. The three announce are going to catch up to all burns defense. And they're just going to wear down at some point. You know, for all the credit that I gave Derek mason early in the year auburn had been one of the best teams in terms of making adjustments after the half and trying to adjust some of their cover schemes and such, they've really cratered in recent games. I mean, last week in South Carolina, they built a 14 nothing lead and weren't able to do much offensively. And to your point, the defense just wasn't able to withstand the barrage. What was interesting in the wake of that loss against the gamecock? Shane, beamer comes out and a postgame comments and says we talked about this being big boy SEC football. We literally lined up in the second half and ran the same two plays over and over and over again and auburn did not have answers. I'm not sure that will be lost on Alabama as they look to secure passage, which they already have to the SEC championship, but more importantly for the crimson tide to keep themselves very much in the discussion for the college football playoff. Perfect time. It's making some noise, by the way. Who has changed been changed been doing that? It's going to be interesting to see how that works at South Carolina. Oh, he's a lot of yeah, a lot of kids like that honesty. And I mean, you go back to the drubbing they took against Georgia and after the game, you had that report or ask them, what was the difference? Dude, nothing but 5 star kids over there. What did you want us to do? He's been very vocal. He's been very honest. There are some players in that area. I think he's a far better recruiter than some of the guys that they've had there recently. It'll be interesting to see how that unfolds at South Carolina. But it feels like there's some hope there at least. He is extremely emotional. I'll say that when they were able to secure the 6th victory of the season and said that he didn't want the season to be over in a week and a half. And again, that level of motion, I don't think is lost on 18 to 19 year old men trying to figure out who they're going to play for if their coach is going to go to battle for them and on their behalf. You can follow pain and building a program, right? That extra 21 practices or how many of them. A long way. It's huge. I mean, it's exactly what you're rooting for to unfold in Gainesville over the weekend. Tough game. Tough game. Line certainly said Florida state has a chance seen some early money coming in Florida have to monitor the status of a few key cogs up front for Florida state. But certainly the vibe within the programs are a little different this week for sure. I know you'll feel a lot better if this game happens to close at pick up on Saturday before they kick things off. Ben Griffin stadium in the swamp. You can follow paint on Twitter at pain inside her arm Todd firm and you of course can follow me there as well. Most importantly, follow the podcast at Bentley the board pod and go to FanDuel dot com slash bet the board take advantage of all of the great promotions new user sign ups in all of the states where FanDuel is available to you. From the college gridiron pain to the National Football League and no we will be not be breaking down bears and lions. Sorry beloved bears fans that are out there hoping that we could cast aspersions on Andy Dalton and potentially the last game of Matt nagy's tenure out there on the Lake. There'll be no breakdown of the Dallas Cowboys in the Las Vegas reader. So we may as well start with the Thursday night nightcap. And that will hit the Buffalo Bills against the New Orleans Saints. The bills have been bet up from where they open in that four, four and a half range. Now, 6 point favorites at FanDuel sportsbook total in the game, a 45 and a half. A matchup of supposed top 6 defenses pain, but two units that have shown quite a bit of vulnerability over the last couple of weeks. The bills, they've been road warriors, 15 and 6 on the highway, the last 21 games, the saints, a very difficult out in their own building, 31 and 11 the last 42 home games. And we've rattled off the stats, Sean Payton when catching points, always attempting proposition. You wouldn't have known it last week though when they were boat raced by the Philadelphia Eagles. And I guess the simplest and most straightforward question to ask can the bills write the wrongs and their passing game against the New Orleans second area that's been ripe for the picking in recent weeks? Yeah, it's certainly a struggling bills offense against a regressing saints defense and that is certainly the key focal point. And I think for all the talk about mahomes and Andy Reid and the chiefs off and struggling. The bill's offenses regress substantially more and done so against one of the three easiest schedules of defenses in the NFL. And it just feels like defenses have adapted and changed how they defend these passing offenses and now we're in that transition period where the offense is have to counter the adjustment. And it takes time. It's not just coming up with the way to counter it, but getting comfortable and executing that counter attack. And so we're seeing a lot of these high flying offenses really have to change some things up. But what I am seeing specifically from buffalo's offense is this. More running, which is fine if that's the look you're being given. Even in the loss to Indy last week, the bills had a 69% rushing success rate, but ultimately passing far more efficient. The second thing is Josh Allen's obviously come back down to earth. And it's not just the throwing. It's the reading defenses. It's being comfortable. Brian Davis got to get the ball out of Josh Allen's hands quicker. Trust the play, trust the read, get the ball out on time and let the receivers work. There's too much hero ball from Josh Allen going on right now. The other issue is the bills didn't address their offensive line in the off season something we've mentioned a couple of times throughout the course of our breakdowns. It was an average O line to begin with. And now you have two starters out. John Feliciano is the man responsible for getting the offensive line set up. He's responsible for identifying blitzes and right tackle Spencer Brown is out as well. In saying that there are still some clear edges here. There is really a definable way to attack the saint's defense. It's cubie and wide receiver runs. They've been very productive against the saints. The saints are extremely sensitive to play action passes, the most sensitive, actually. You can throw on them from heavier sets. We know there's a massive void at corner opposite Marshawn Lattimore. A guy like Emmanuel Sanders knows the saints defense inside now having spent last year in New Orleans. But really why this game has moved a bunch aside from a group earlier today laying for in Buffalo. Are the injuries. Most of which are on the saints offensive side. Kamara, trending towards being out again. Right tackle, Ryan Ramsey looks like he's out. We already know that starting guard Andres Pete has been out taron Armstead has been out multiple weeks. He's only getting in limited on a Monday and Tuesday and Monday was more of an estimation.

"The 4.7 the average running the football. Even in a bad passing day, it's still more effective. It's It's part of it was the pass rush. I think more of it had to do more of the bills struggles. Throwing the football on Sunday had to do with the Steelers pass rush, giving them fits. Then it did. Because the way that offensive line was blocking on Sunday they weren't going to run that well, anyway, if they decided to make that their game plan all day. I just watched re watch the clip on the all 22 film. It was a completion from Josh Allen over the middle to Dawson Knox. On their own end of the field inside their own five yard line inside their own 10 yard line. And Cam Heyward, who's a great defender, Great defensive lineman for the Steelers. He gets one on one with John Feliciano and he just abuses them. Little quick, left or right. Shimmy gets Feliciano's feet all mixed up and Feliciano goes down, and Hayward pushes Josh Allen off his spot within two seconds. Within two seconds, Aylin realizes Oh, I'm back around my own goal line. Here comes Cam Heyward. Bearing down on me. Feliciano is on the ground. And now I've got to roll right. But Oh, there's Melvin Ingram pushing Darold Williams back so I can't go anywhere here got to get rid of the football. To me. That is what killed the Bills pass game all day. It was the Pittsburgh defensive line, not giving Josh Allen any time to either make throws from the pocket and also not allowing him to roll right. Not allowing him to escape the pocket and Create Out of structure. I think if next week You play the dolphins, and you just block their defensive line. But Miami does everything else the same. The Pittsburgh did. You're gonna throw all over? Because I think Josh Allen When he's not under duress within three seconds as many times he was on Sunday, he's unguardable. Because he can hit the 30 yard post route over your head. He can hit the five yard out to Cole Beasley. He can hit the quick crosser to Dawson Knox. He can scramble himself. He can roll right wait for his receivers to come back to him and hit him that way. You can drop 78 defensive backs into coverage. All you want. But when all of that is working The bills will still be effective, throwing the football And it happened last year. And the personnel on this team is so similar to last year that you're allowed to reach into last year for sample size for an example. Of it, working of working over a 16 game schedule. Let's continue on with the phone calls 83 or 5 50 Market. Tonawanda, You are on the extra point show. It's up Mark. Hey, Thanks for having me on. I think you hit the nail on the head, man. Um, I saw Dion Dawkins. He got humbled that Melvin Ingram was doing whatever he wanted to our All right. And if last year you know, looking back at last year Hayward got hurt, and he missed the second half. I mean, who knows that game might have went different last year. Pitcher did Ray 18. They're great defense. They're They're good. They're Hall fame quarterback. I don't know why Buffalo fans are pressing the panic button. I mean, look at when When the Bills played the Patriots back in 2011, we want 31. Nothing. Everyone has going to the Super Bowl. Did Brady blank? Yeah, it looks like you really, uh, losses stop. After that one game. It's one game. I think those fans we need a Jack Eichel trade a nice trade between against the Sunday to get us back in the swing of things here because it's just been ridiculous. But I'm going to happen. Listen, thanks for having me on. Thanks for the call Mark. I don't really want to rely on the Sabres right now to make us feel better about things, but, um, it was good that would do it. We anywhere on that. Franklin got anything on there Right now, In a jack of all trade, I'm done talking about the Sabres. For now, Let's stick with the bills. That's fair enough. Let's go to Norma in hamburger on the extra point shot. What's up? Well, you can't blame Joshua everything I can for balls that would drop by receivers because they were so man handled by the defenders. I mean, Sanders dropped too busy test. Dropped to Guests can in the world, but they were. They were hitting really hard and they lost. Didn't complete fast. Yes, I am not. And I'm not blaming him for everything. I even just gave an example of Him making a play. Despite The struggles of the offensive line. John Feliciano had a 32 Pff grade in that game. And if you watch somebody all 22 films like Very easy to see why that grade was so low. Um, he could not block him. Hayward. He could not block him. Hayward And Melvin Ingram. Had his way with Dion Dawkins. TJ Watt. I mean, I think the bills couldn't block I think if if you want to talk about adjustments You're going to convince me quicker that the adjustments should have been Well, maybe this is an adjustment. You can't just do it. Zack Moss was inactive. Zack Moss is your best pass blocking running back. And he was on the bench and you couldn't put them in. Alan needed that extra protection. Whether that was keeping an extra tight end in having knocks stay in the bloc. There were a few of them be easily dropped one on a don't even think it registered on the statute because the bill's got a holding penalty. Um But Beasley had to drop on a wide open play in the second quarter. Yes, there were a couple that was that was weird because the bills are usually very good in that department. The last time they really dropped problems. Well, I mean, Dawson Knox has had them. But did he drop one on Sunday? I don't think so. Z. "Also has a bit of an advantage built in if they don't take advantage. I think we have a I think we have some questions here. Well, there's there's two things about that. So we talked about this at length in the seven o'clock segment. You know, the Steelers offensive line might be in rough shape Might might have some questions. The Bills defensive line You know they're they're going to try to prove a point most of the season. Last year, they sacked Roethlisberger. One time on 37 drop backs and 37 passes. Times. I should say, I'm not sure if they're all If you would have scrambled once or twice, but His sack percentage last year was under 2% in terms of how many past attempts it takes to get to him. He does not get sacked a lot. The ball is out. So while you make the point about the offensive line the counter to that is what will Pittsburgh's plan B? There changed. They've changed their offensive coordinator. Maybe they're going to try deeper drops. Maybe going to try play action. Maybe we'll try. Help hold up long enough, so it might kind of be the perfect storm where they decide we can't run that kind of fast passing offense against the bills that didn't work last time. It's not going to work against this group. And try to put him into positions of deeper drops and hope the line holds up. So I I agree with you. I think it's the most fascinating part of this matchup is how the new Steelers offense looks what it looks like and how the defensive line can get there if they even have the time to If they can, if they can hold up, and they want Ben to throw a little deeper. That's a recipe to to to hurt the bills because I don't think the bills are going to be expecting that they're gonna expect to get to him quicker. They're probably expect some Quicker passes. Um, you know that that might be the challenge, but it could be exactly what it was last year. The Steelers did not throw the ball down the field last year, It was get the ball out. Ben didn't want to sit back there. He wanted to throw the ball early. Remember that? That was another big thing was. They had a lot of drops from receivers even on those short passes the first play in Buffalo. I think it was Deontay Johnson dropped the pass right in his hands like three yards off the line of scrimmage. And that was like, Oh, my God. This has been happening to this team, especially Johnson to he's been. He's battled that a lot. Yeah, And and I think they want to get back to running the ball a lot. Najee Harris, Right? I mean, I think they want to do that. I just don't know if I guess what I'm saying. Guys is this If the Steelers offense has success against the Bills offensive defensive line. We have some serious questions about this season because that's not supposed to happen. Sean McDermott said it last week to us when he spoke the last time he spoke. He basically said, And if I remember the way he phrased it was Writing about the defensive line is over. It's time to perform and look, that's the expectation for this unit. They need to go out there and play now. Sal with us on the Western Hotline. You've got two bills question. 80305 50 to join us. Sean McDermott will speak with the media at noon today. Sal. What injuries are there to monitor? Can you kind of refresh my memory about? Who might be coming up for discussion today. Starla Tulay is to me one of the bigger ones. He's missed a couple. The last couple of practices. Remember they've had a few days off. The last time they were on the field was Thursday. I believe right, and, um, he he had missed a couple of practices with a calf injury. I think that's the big one. The DBS It appears as though everybody is on the right track. I mean, even though Taron Johnson and Dean Jackson were wearing red jerseys, they were practicing, but New Jersey's and make sure you know and always explain to people. Red Jersey basically means it's a stop sign. Don't get too close to that guy. If you're on the field and running like it's a stop sign, be careful. He's dealing with something, but we want to make sure he gets everything he needs to get in here. Um, you know Levi Wallace. Good news. He wasn't in a Red jersey has just been practicing. I think great news that Harrison Phillips hasn't been in a Red jersey now. That doesn't mean he's going to be ready for week one. But I just think that that's a really good sign. Um, and then the other ones. I see Mackenzie again. Red Jersey They have a few of those guys. Is that the case this week to start the week with some of these guys? Um, I think that's that's one to monitor because who's your return, man? If it's not Isaiah, Isaiah can't go week one. You don't have Marquis Stevenson. He's on IR. He cannot play. So is that like a hide back there, right? I mean, because Brandon Paul is not on this team. He was released. I would think he's trending towards playing. But I would say Starla Tulay, Isaiah McKenzie, Harrison Phillips. Probably your Big three there. Would hide if they had to. If Mackenzie wasn't ready would hide handle both kick and punt returns. I know he can do punt returns. Would he handle kicks? Do you think tour where they don't have somebody? Oh, he's not been a kick returner. You know, you'd probably put someone back there like a Singletary A mosque. You know, someone like that, Um, to return to return Taiwan Jones can do something like that. You know, Um, I don't think that would be the case. I don't remember him. Every returning kicks butt. Would think that hide would be you know, in the mix, at least to be, um, to be the punt returner. You know, If you look at the team's depth chart, they only have one listed But returner Kick returner is Isaiah McKenzie. That's it. They don't have anybody listed behind, so I would think they would be an indication you go from. You have to pluck somebody else off the roster in the most likely candidate would be Micah Hyde, who Has done that. But again, like you said, Kick return. I don't think they put him in that position. You When you treated out the depth chart yesterday, you did make sure you mentioned it is unofficial. So don't look at the depth chart as Bible. But having said that anything you took away from the first step chart. Cody Ford still listed as a starting right guard. John Feliciano is a starting left guard my senses. It'll be like that. I would not be shocked if ICP Bucker starts like I think they're going to tinker with that a little bit to get the right combination..

"The Brandon being comment on one bills live, and he got a little bit of hot water with the union in the league, you know, would you Yes, I would consider cutting a player if it means we can get to the 85% level. That's because of the discussion about the rules, differences and running your practices and your ops. Normally Um, there is no actual number. No. No number has ever come out from the NFL, but I'm guessing as I said, I think it was Peter King. If one of the national guys that are so well connected in the league, I don't think they just throw out the number 85% Let me think wonder what the NFL would do. You know, I'm going to guess did 1 85% of their players vaccinated? They wouldn't do that, unless they got it from somebody I would assume in the no. In the National Football League. But again, there has been no actual number with camps set to open in a couple weeks, I guess less for the two teams that are in the Hall of Fame game. We still don't know the vaccine threshold if you will. So keep that in mind. Um, that's why the whole report like seven teams, at least an 85%. In theory, they would now not have to worry about separate rules for certain players on their roster. There were no teams mentioned in the report It was from. I believe it was Tom Palace zero NFL network just said seven teams, So I know if the bills are on the list bills not are not on the list. Whatever the case may be, but that is also something to track. When the NFL says Here's the exact vaccination level and we'll see if the bills are at it. Now I did want to get some other football. Since we are working ourself into football mode. Right. We're making that transition for many of you. You're in summertime mode. But you've got to start thinking about football, You know, because training camps will start this month. So one of the things I tweeted out and I'll get to some of your comments on this well, and I'll talk about mine to start things off which bills player or players. Are going to be under your microscope this season. And there are different ways to look at it. I guess for me it's scrutiny. It's who's got to really come up. You've got to show me something this year, um, could be a contract related decision. Could be a young player who just needs to step up. In a lot of these cases. Some of these guys are going to talk about its guys who we clearly see a talent base there. But we need more consistency from this particular player. The first guy that came to mind for me was that Oliver and and a couple guys actually on defense, but at Oliver came to mind as one of those guys that's under the microscope for a number of different reasons. Different reasons. One. Any time you're picked where he's picked, you're going to be under the microscope. I didn't. By the way, I didn't think about Josh Allen. I kind of believe. The quarterback is always under the microscope. It is the critical position, you know, Basically your season will most likely fail or succeed based on what you're getting from your quarterback. We know it's a big year for him. In light of what's going on with this contract. Maybe he gets it done before the season. Maybe he doesn't And if he, you know, goes into year four. He's looking to have another big year drive up his value so forth, and so on. I think it's just a natural thing to say The quarterback is under the microscope. It happens, especially with Younger guys, guys on the rise so forth like Baker, Mayfield and okay, So I moved on. Didn't think about Josh. But I thought about that Oliver first round pick, high first round pick. Those guys need to be key players. For your group for your core group. As you move on in the National Football League without Oliver. I mean, this is your three. So there's something to you know, you come in as a rookie. You do what you can and year one. You make a nice you get acclimated and all that right. You get a little bit more comfortable in year. Two year three is a big year for these young players and a guy like that, Oliver, you're three. He needs to show a level of consistency. Now. I'm not looking for Aaron. Donald. I don't think that Oliver will be Aaron Donald. I don't think well, most defensive tackles in this league will not be Aaron Donald. What I need at Oliver that you can see a skill set. You can see what um Some of the ability of this guy brings. Excuse me to the football field. And I need to see it on a more consistent basis, and things are set up. Around Ed Oliver. I think for him to succeed and to really thrive in year number three from a contract by the way from a contract standpoint, eventually, you know, Yeah, you'll have to make decisions on your first round guys and big contracts. I'll get the Tremaine events in a moment. But Oliver in year three has a number of things going for him. He like I said, he's good. But there's there's a level of consistency that's been missing in his game. I don't look at Oliver and wonder whether he can play the game of football. Um, someone just treated about one of the guys. They tweeted. It was Cody Ford, which I'm going to get to. I don't know if Cody Ford can be a good offensive lineman. I really don't. I think the jury is out on Cody Ford at this young stage of his career. I mean, He's battling for a starting spot. Ed Oliver. We know who he is at. Oliver is a key player in the defensive tackle rotation. I have no doubt at Oliver can play football. I like a lot of what I've seen from him in the first years again. He just needs to elevate and become a little bit more consistent. Become more of a of a big factor inside that defense Now what works well for him. Well, one of the big things that's in his corner, literally and figuratively as the return of Starla to lay That should help at Oliver should help anybody playing next to Ed Oliver. Excuse me, playing next to star literally on the defensive line. Him coming back will help the run defense, But it can also help the pass rush. He's not here just to plug up the middle of the defensive line, occupy blockers and let other defense alignment or, more. Specifically, linebackers make plays behind him. You know, he can also help by pushing the pocket, creating some pressure up the middle, and that is something we need to see more from that, Oliver. It's been a lot. There was a lot of talk this offseason. Actually, if if you go back and think about the off season, we just went through with the bills. There were probably two Key things this off season. Two things we talked about more than anything else won their ability to bring the band back together or keep the band together. So to speak. Right Milano, Darryl Williams, John Feliciano Brownout Sanders in So they did everything they could to keep their team in place. And they did a really good job of that. You know, I don't think there was a single player who that had left in the off season you go. I mean, brown. You didn't You know he's been He was really good, but it's not like cutting John Brown. Is a major setback for the offense. And if you were worried about losing John Brown well, they bring in Emmanuel Sanders, who is still really good at his age and his NFL career. Um, so bringing the band together..

"Yes. Keeping Matt Milano keeping Darryl Williams and keeping John Feliciano. Of course those are Major steps and that's what matters on the field. But I think you just have to take the whole picture in totality to say Did they have a good off season while I'll answer it this way? Very, very, very rarely. Do teams advance as far as the Buffalo Bills did and have so many coaches and players returning from the same team. The Buccaneers do, though they won the Super Bowl, and they have everybody returning from the same team. Yeah, right. They have a lot of people returning. Um 22 players started starting 11 on both sides of the ball, which it is interesting about the box. You know, As we talk about teams and odds and all that the books were not a great team during the season, they really hit their stride a little bit later in the year. Was also a bit of a Something. I'm seeing a little more upset, which is players in a second year with Bruce Arians do a lot better than their first year now. We're talking about, of course. Tom Brady, who did just fine in his first year, but I mean, I've been a fan of Arians as a quarterback's coach for quite some time. You know, he bounced around. I read his book, So it made me a fan of his like this guy. Sounds like he's got it together when it comes to coaching quarterbacks. So it's possible that we that we did not see the best of the box until the very late stage of the season. The playoffs. I mean, they didn't win their division, right. They go on the road there a wild card teams right and matched up with a seven and nine team in that first matchup. Washington So it's not like the bucks or some crazy, good team. But they might be this year and you know, like getting everything back together for them. The bills having that, as you know, right there with them. They don't have 22 starters returning. What is it? Is it 20? It's John Brown and who else is Gone was not, um, the lines back jump. It's John Brown on defense. Who's Who's not back for the defense. And I'm not thinking of right now. Um, well, no, because while you you actually get it's actually kind of a weird way to look at it cost our go to the lake comes back and it's right up. That's right. So, like Vernon Butler, whoever would start there Carson Phillips or someone like someone is not there. So, although they get one of their starters back, it's actually not a returning starter. If that makes sense, right, right, But it's Huge number of players that are returning. Yes. So the bucks having the bills have it? Yeah, but don't but, you know, you know, it's what What? It's funny because you look at those two teams you want to think about the boxing bills again. This is good conversation. T. J is going to join me at 11 o'clock this morning when I'm in that time slot. He's the Buccaneer Sideline reporter and what we can definitely talk about this. It's a good It's a good talking point conversation because they went out of different ways. The Buccaneers were kind of put together on the fly right that team they had last year because of Brady, really right? They they added talent to the already had talented players, but they really they added more. The bills are not. This is designed by the bills. This is This is architecture from Brandon Beane. This was the plan all along to have to draft develop and retain. That's who the bucks are The box that we have a chance at Tom Brady. Oh, yeah, Let's go out and get Antonio Brown. Let's go out and get Rob Gronkowski, right? I mean, They had. What Pierre Paul along the way, like they have guys that they and Donald Chunxiu whatever you know that all of a sudden, like they become part of the team. Um, that wasn't the bill, so there are dirt. There's not only one way to do it. Which is kind of fascinating and interesting now that when you compare them side by side and how they how they are, and these two teams sure if they could match up, maybe there. Maybe that's the Super Bowl matchup. Who knows? There's certainly two of the best teams in the league. But they were definitely put together a little bit differently. 80305 50. If you want to toss a phone call and finally sell before we finish out, Have you How many Blue Jays games? Have you had a chance to get to 22. We were there on Friday for the game where they blow out the Rays tended to a no hitter along the way we gotta put we got the new thing that you want to see. I think if you're a fan at some of these games, which is position player comes in to pitch. I think that's the maybe baseball has found something. How do we keep fans at the game buying things? If we've got a 10? Nothing. Score answer promised them the the allure, maybe of a position player pitching. Because it becomes home run Derby. Or maybe I'll see a guy get beaned in a brawl. Or maybe I'll see if 38 Mile an hour pitch. I don't know how slow you could possibly throw it. The guy for the Rays on Friday was thrown 46 or 47. I mean, it's just like it is. We couldn't leave because it ended up kind of like descending into madness with protecting their bullpen and going for the position player, So I don't know. She's a random point on baseball and like the the new thing You see, it's Hey, Have you seen a position player pitching in person? Because we got that on Friday. I mean, it took a long time to get a guy like Otani, right? I mean, to actually be a position player and a picture. I have a good one. Remember? Write a good one. I remember growing up, Jeremy and you know when you're when you're a kid, all that most of the best players can do everything right. Their pictures, their shortstop, the center field there, the number three batter, leadoff hitter cleanup hit or whatever, but you know, as you get older, you learn, and even I was a kid going. Why do why do the pictures never hit well, because it's specialized right And that's what they do. But I remember thinking we'd have conversations with my friends. When I was a teenager like Hey, When do you think you'll have? We'll see in baseball like a position Players are really good picture. A picture is a really good hitter. They can hit while we see it. But, man, I I thought if you would ask 25 years ago, Sal Carpaccio, I would have said Oh, we're going to see a few of those in the year 2021. And we don't We only get what you just said, which is the random Hey, we better put a guy in just because we want to save arms. Yeah, it's it's the Otani stuff. Maybe it's the East Coast West Coast bias thing here. It's tough to I appreciate how good he is, because I don't see a lot of his games he plays for the Angels, right? They're not very good to play in the West Coast. It's almost like he's this legend for me where nightly, I'll You know my Twitter feed the morning check out highlights like Otani hit his league leading X number home run. He made the All Star game as a as a position player and as a pitcher, he's just consistently unbelievable and You know, for baseball to have a couple of guys that are just, uh complete price of admission worth the price of admission, Vlad is that too? Because every time Guerrero comes up, it's an event and, you know, just like the way he runs the bases, the smart place. He's just totally work. The price of admission. It feels like when you're at a Blue Jays game, you're going to get what you paid for with Vlad. And for the Angels in Otani is just like I said, Like, I know he's a real person. He's there, but it's almost like he's this legend to me because I don't know when I would see a live game where he'd he'd be a part of it unless, of course, the travel on the East Coast and baseball's got hockey playoffs to compete with right now, Usually they don't have that right now. NBA playoffs Usually, baseball doesn't have that competition and these last two summers Baseball has had to deal with that had to kind of fight off the other sports, the other things happening. Yeah. And, um, you know, I know that I'm sure you guys are my at least mentioned it this morning. I know that the Blue Jays will apply to go back to Toronto, right? Um, I don't know what it stands right now. They've applied. And, um I don't know what that means for the bisons. Are they coming back? I mean, would hope so right? Come back from New Jersey if the Blue Jays were to leave Right. So you're right. You know, baseball right now. In full swing, but we have a lot of options right now, I think, But once NBA once NHL is done if we get the bisons back, I think you know it'll feel pretty good to have and they'll be nice to watch. We're enjoying it. But yeah, and the position thing and the what baseball can do..

"What's your outlet? Ours is being late to talk to Sal. Good morning, Mr Camacho happy Wednesday. You too? No, it's OK. I've actually been tuned in for quite a while. Because I I want to be there for Howard picks the bills. You are so full of baloney. Would you rather do the pick the bill segment instead of no. No, that's okay. I'm fine. I'm good. I'll just listen to you could ghost it? You could just send me your pics. I won't tell anybody and I'll use them. That's actually maybe a new segment. You have a Howard picks The Bill Ghost pick via celebrity. Pretty of celebrity pickers, Not me like you could pick somebody you could pick people like like randomly text people or dm them and say if they want to be like like college Game day brings on a celebrity. There you go person every Saturday. Brilliant. You can do that, too brilliant. William Fichtner, Ron. Yeah. Yeah, He's a huge bills fan. All right, brilliant. All right. So what's up? We got in fighting. We got turmoil. These guys hate each other. What the hell is going on, Sal? Yeah. I mean, we're getting into the dog days of summer, I guess right, even though it's early summer yet for a couple of weeks, um, these things happen. Yeah, There was a fight yesterday at practice John Feliciano and AJ EPA Nesa get into it. Full disclosure and transparency. I actually had to step away from the practice field for a moment to do a radio interview station in Jacksonville. That had said Hey, can you go on? I'm like, Yeah, I'll be at practice, so I just Literally went outside the fence, and it happened while I was out there. Um, but I saw the commotion. I knew it was. I knew something was going on. And, um, I put a recap out of it from our buddy Matt Perino at our website and What he wrote Another media members who, uh, saw it was that fns ahead intercepted. Josh Allen ran it back to the end zone. Feliciano Chase them down, their words exchanged. Vanessa threw the ball back at him, and then punches were thrown and Feliciano then apparently went into the field house or whatever to cool off, but He was on Pat McAfee's show yesterday. Podcast. Um And he talked about it. And he said, Yeah, I mean, it happens and it's over, and it's done with and, you know, Iron sharpens iron, and we're just making each other better. You know all that stuff, So maybe the most interesting part for me. I mean, you know that will happen. Is epinephrine being the guy because I would imagine he feels like he has a lot to prove right about now. He also you've talked about it. He changed his body. He's got a full training camp. You know, Rookie seasons last year for any rookie might have been really tough and maybe for a guy that's supposed to be Quite a project. But whatever. He's got a career arc here, and he probably is out to prove something every single play and, you know, without speculating too much like that's maybe Feliciano is worried about his. Yeah, buddy, Relax. What does it mean to you that that's epinephrine that's involved there. Yeah, I thought it's I think it's interesting to me. It's a bit more of a story because it's him. Maybe Versus someone else. I don't know. Pick who it could have been even a guy like Daryl Johnson. Let's say who's been around like a Obata, who's been in the league a few years? Um, of course, if it's Jerry Hughes, you know you're like, Okay, this is you know, Jerry's got. He can get fiery at times, but Here's a guy that we hadn't heard much from. And I would say that most people because they haven't interacted. I mean, I've never physically met a J. F. Vanessa because of the pandemic. Anybody was new last year. We couldn't do that. It's all zoom. Would think he kind of comes across as having this kind of quiet disposition, right? I mean, a guy who you don't really Maybe if you could choose all of the defensive lineman that this could have happened with He'd probably be near the bottom of the list. Jeremy without knowing, And but that's what happened. So I agree with you. That becomes a bit more of a okay like you like to see something like that. And you know, it doesn't matter. No, I'm sure it doesn't for anything, but I do think it's interesting that it's that particular player who maybe you wouldn't expect something like that to happen with. So yeah, From that standpoint, it's pretty cool. On the flip side, Feliciano, you hear that? You're like, Well, yeah, that makes sense. I mean, of course, Feliciano. You might not expect to hear Dion Dawkins getting in a fight like that, Feliciano? Sure. Um, so you know, it's it's always lineman right in the history of camp fights. It's always like Ross Tucker. I don't know we get we get we get We get some receiver. DVD. Okay, TVs receivers sometimes, too. That's right. That's right. Remembers a Jones and Micah Hyde went at it a few years old. All right. I forgot about that one. Ross Tucker is one Who did he go with Howard was who was the defensive lineman? Oh, goodness. Wasn't Ruben Brown was it? I don't think so. No, it was a defensive tackle. Olive was Oliver. Not at Oliver Oliver something anyway. Ross Tucker. Uh, well, well, remember, like I would say in shop, and I were talking about this yesterday because Mike ask No. Will anybody even ever remember this and I said, Well, let's not forget. We still talk about Eric wouldn't Erin maven? Sometimes you do right and and because because Eric Wood You know, said something there maybe about, you know, go on your money or something. Something along the lines of it Almost. You know, it seems to me like there's always going to be at least I'm not always but a lot of times. There's at least one younger player, and this can How far away is this from Troy? Vincent Hitting JP Loss, man? Where? Hey, Rookie! Relax, You know Don't be a try hard too much out here, but the rookies have a fine line to walk because, of course, you know, but he's not a rookie. Well, he's not a rookie, but I'm saying young player, you know, second year. That's right. You're right. You're right. And when? When Aaron would Eric wouldn't did that with maven was that your one or you're too because I think it was Maybin's rookie year. I believe all right. That's still funny, but I think it going your money that's still that's hilarious. Something wasn't Was that the quote? I can't remember. I don't wanna put your generic Eric it was something like that. But anyway, you're right. Jeremy. I agree with you. Where, like there is this fine line between? Hey, I'm out here trying to make this team and earn my spot. Look at all these defensive lineman they brought in here. I'm in my second year. I didn't even I wasn't even active. My first game. My rookie year I got every single play. I'm going Hard as I can and doing everything I can to impress. And then you know, Feliciano, probably thinking you're not showing our quarterback up like that in practice. Yeah. I mean, this is our franchise guy like I'm not going to deal with that, right? So that's probably the mentality that goes into something like that where you're right. But I do I I do think it's interesting that it was epinephrine. So you know what it's going to force me to do is maybe pay attention More to epinephrine has this summer in training camp rolls on. Yeah, absolutely. And all of a sudden, from quiet, mild mannered to watch out. He'll snap, you know, or meaning police down and we knew would snapping..

"Joe Judge, and you know Appropriate of him not to offer a timeline on Sequana Barkley, because imagine if he did, and we're wrong. Think of what would happen. Wait, Nothing would happen actually. Uh, when he when he started to say, Giants coach I thought of Jim Fossil. Jim Fossil died and that just sort of hit me like Wow. How old was Jim Fossil? It was 71 that might have guessed younger. But that was 20 years ago when His team was in the Super Bowl. Sal Carpaccio on the Western Hotline, Sal. I never I know I never met him face to face. I think he might have been on the show once. He was sometimes rumored for bills, jobs, but It was never my team. I always liked Jim Fossil. I don't know. Like some coaches. To give you enough personality and they just come across the right way for you, and he was one of those guys for me. Yeah, I can see that. Um, you know, I feel the same way about him, which is kind of he was. He was just about football. No nonsense, right? Not to level like a Tom Coughlin. But he just seemed like he was a good football man. I guess you'd say like to use a cliche. If you will, I would even say like a lot like Sean McDermott in that sense, right? Just he's about football and trying to win games. And you know the other stuff shouldn't matter. It's It's that it's that what matters you know, going out there and Performing every day and trying to win football games. Do I remember correctly that like I'm not sure if the bills ever interviewed him, but they may have to remember anything about fossil and them. Mm. I don't know. When would he have been? Maybe? Rumored for one of their jobs. I'm not really sure. Well, probably more than 10 years ago. I mean, it would have been maybe around when Giron I don't know exactly how that lined up, but the Giants Ravens Super Bowl was 4000 season. And he would have been there for a little time after that, but The last thing I think I saw him do was coaching. Was it XFL? Maybe he was coaching another league. I think. Fossil, So, Yeah, and then is, um Isn't it his his son as a coach? I believe, right? I think so as a coach. Said here about that the conversation about we had a lot of conversations, different conversations about the bills in the first hour. The one we were having toward the end was about Matt Brita. Mhm and Brian dabble brought his name up. But I mentioned how like in these fantasy draft where you get very deep, and you're playing with really sharp guys who know the depth charts up and down for every team. Never see. Breed his name. And like, I don't question that. But when I hear his name in here, I think you know what I wonder if he might be relevant in this offense. What do you think it would take like? You see him as somebody that they to put it This particular way would want to find room for in this offense. Would it be different than that? Do you think he means to them? I think the reason why you wouldn't like get People to really bring them up in a fantasy draft or draft him. Is because I don't think people think they're going to use them that much right? Because the bill simply aren't a team that's going to run the ball a lot. So there's already limited carries. And now he's also behind Singletary and Moss. And even if they were to spin one of them, you're talking about a shared backfield of a team that basically throws 65 70% of the time. Um, what's really there and then you know, not a lot to their running backs a little bit, so I don't think it's a lot of share their for him. Um, I think the bills believe he can be a weapon in certain situations. Maybe, as the season goes on. Maybe we realized they realized that he needs to be on the field a little bit more, but I think the element of adding speed has been something. We've talked a lot about going all the way back to that loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. One of the things the very next day was, this team needs more speed. And Matt Marina brings that he brings more speed, but he's not going to be on the field all the time. And even when he is there going to be doing other things other than giving the ball to Matt Burritos, so I think that's where it comes from. But I do think they believe he can offer a certain element. The teams are going to have to respect and He might be able to break when it doesn't always have to be a 65 yard touchdown. But if he can, you know, bust a 20 yard run off. That's a really nice run. That's a nice play. Yeah. And in the you know the fantasy context, But just in any context, I think the bills are a team where They? It seems like there might be room for somebody to move in on the running backs that they have. And like, so Brita was their choice to do that. It wasn't Travis Et and it turns out it wasn't Anybody in the draft. How do you think? Or maybe, you know, I'm not sure if table got this question today. Or if McDermott has, But how do you think the bill see if I can put it like this? Singletary versus Moss? Is one of them. Overall, more valuable to them than the other. How do you think they look at that? I don't. I think there is a Shared backfield. Um In fact, Brian Table was asked about this today. Like Do you believe in more like a another bell car running back at the main running back? A lead back, I think is what the way he was asked to him. And he said, no, not really. Just you know, it's you go with what you have, and you, You see even what he said was. I'm trying to figure out and find out exactly. They're trying to remember as I talk to you like what he said. But I do remember the one party said. Sometimes you go with the hot hand right? If a guy is really rolling, and you feel that he's got it going, the other guy doesn't you do it that way, But it can be all different situations. It could be game plan. It could be a lot of different things and who that is, and that's the way I think the bills are going to approach it. I think they approach it with Hey, neither of these guys is one A and neither is one B. Now there might be a starter. There has to be someone's got to be on the field before the other one. Unless you're putting them on the same time together to start the game, and I would guess that be Devin Singletary. He's been on the team for three years. Um, you know, that's probably that's his role. That's his job. But it wouldn't surprise me that You know, these two guys basically have about the same snap counts at the end of most games. So, Sal, Uh, I've risked burying the lead here. This this fight at practice, not because it's it's not the lead in terms of like what I think you would say the same. I don't know yet. What it matters how it matters to the season. But as far as the story of the day goes, it's probably a J. F. Vanessa running back an interception and John Feliciano, according to reports, quote chasing him down. And then a fight ensued. What do you know about it? And what do you make of it? Yeah. So I'll just for transparency. I was obviously out of practice today have a lot of video practice. So I had a Jacksonville radio station calling me today just after one o'clock. So when I took the call, I didn't want to be rude. Anybody next to me? So I literally walked outside the fence to take the take The call and to go on Jacksonville radio, and the play happened within five minutes of me being outside the fence, so I did not actually physically see the play happen. But I heard what was going on. And then I saw the reports and things like that. Um, my buddy Matt Perino. You know him? He's been on the show New York upstate. I asked him a couple of times like what you see. And he just wrote up a report on there and and he told me exactly what he saw. And obviously John Feliciano has spoken about it. Since then, you guys heard the sound when he was on with the Pat McAfee show..

"Train going downhill and get your game together and come ready to contribute. We're going to plug somebody else in and we saw it at the very position that Cody Ford is expected to play this year with Quentin, Spain last year. I mean, he went from three year extension two starter to bench. Two off the roster in five weeks. Um, I know he's going to get a little bit of rope because he's coming off of an off season surgery. Uh, so he's gonna be. He's gonna have a slower return than most my hope for him. Is that they just leave him at guard because each of the last two years there's been this guard tackle stuff and he's gone back and forth. I think the best thing you can do for Cody Ford right now. Is just give him a permanent home at guard. Whether it's starter back up whatever it is based on coming off of his surgery. Just leave them there. And see what you get out of him in terms of progress, development and quality, consistent play, But if it's not showing signs of being right for the starting five You had a guy like far as lamp who started 16 games played 100% of the snaps for the Chargers last year. I mean, they're not gonna wait No, I agree, And I think I'll go even a step further and say, I don't want to see him at garter tackle. I want to see him at left guard or right guard so that he's playing next to the same two guys, ostensibly the entire time to to where we have consistent every week. It's the same situation, Same communication, the same look left or right and to see what Cody Ford has. But I don't know if the writing's on the wall. Remember Brandon Beane last year, talked about Cody Ford being one of the five most talented offensive lineman on the team. I thought that was a heck of a pronouncement for a guy that a hasn't really played well or be hasn't really played much. I've been on the field much at all to say that he's one of the top five when you know, I thought, like Bucker had a pretty solid finished the last year And obviously the Bills just resigned. John Feliciano gave him new money. You just pointed out. Why not to look at that too seriously? But regardless you know, I think Ford you talk about a leash. I think he's got a really long one from what the GM said last year, and I'm not a huge force Lamb fan, either. I know he played every snap. That Chargers line was awful. I remember when they played the bills, and I was watching that game back. I'm thinking there are players all over this defense. Derwin James is even on the field you've got, you know, boast as a pass rusher. You've got lots of skill. Guys, You've got a quarterback who you know might be a phenomenon is a rookie Austin tacular is the perfect running back for 21st century football. What their line is terrible. They can't block anybody. Well, Pff, you know for what it's worth supported that so to believe in a charters, offensive lineman almost anybody from last year. That's not the guy I'm looking at. But regardless, it was not forward or lamp. I'll run. I'll run with Bucker and Feliciano and take my chances because those are two guys that did get me to the Ansi championship last year. Yeah, and I thought the problem with the Chargers offensive line was a domino effect from the middle. Uh, Feeny just was not part of it. He was flat out not good enough, and I felt like the guards had to cover up for a lot of those deficiencies and not just worry about their own assignment, but try to cover up for Feeny. And how deficient he was at the center spot. And you saw the Chargers address that in a giant way. I mean, they handed out gigantic money to Corey Linsley. I think there was just a terrible domino effect from the inside out there with that center position, And I think a negatively impacted guys like lamp. And the other guard on the other side, whose names escaping me right now, let's go to O B. L fan mail bag question to from Adriana. I know we got a bunch of edge rushers this offseason to improve the pass rush but are run defense has also struggled at times over the years. Even when star was playing. How is that supposed to improve this season when we most mostly brought in only edge rushers? Good question. Yeah, I think the fantastic question. I think the answer is I like what most of the young guys the bills brought and can do against the run. I thought AJ up. Vanessa was projected. I thought he was gonna be a solid run Defender didn't see a ton of it last year, but I still think you can do it. I think Boogie bash them can be a very good run Defender as well. Russo is a lot more of a project in every single way. Um, you know someone at that size there are Certainly ways he can defend the run, and I thought he was at least disciplined from what I saw at Miami in 2019, But I think the guys the bills grab, even though they are edge players and you think of edge and Russia. Well, edge run. Defending is a part of the Game two and Jerry Hughes has Had an amazing growth in that area. Most of the growth happened, like five years ago, But when he first came to Buffalo, this was a guy didn't play the run very well. And he quickly was able to figure it out. And for my money, he is one of the premier. Edge run defenders in the NFL. So just because the bills drafted an edge rusher doesn't mean that those guys can't play against the run. And I think at least epinephrine Basham are for rookies are pluses in that area. And I know some of our fellow reporters have already written about this. Um, just that Harrison Phillips looks to have a bigger spring in his step more similar to when he was playing prior to his A C L knee injury. I think last year was just an exercise and trying to get back up. Where he was. I don't know that anybody felt that he ever really got there and including himself, But now and I think he's going to fall into that category is being one of those guys that needed the full year. To get back to where he wanted to be. We'll know when the pads go back on whether he can be a factor on the interior, you know, behind star and presumably behind Ed, But that's just a wait and see. But a very good question from Adriana because there are no guarantees here that this run defense despite all the influx of talent Is going to be demonstrably better, at least from a yards allowed per game standpoint, we have to take a break. But with that, and I come back another question or two on the O B L fan Friday Mailbag Stay tuned here on.

Brandon Beane John Feliciano Corey Linsley Cody Ford Jerry Hughes Feliciano Derwin James last year 21st century 16 games Vanessa Adriana 2019 Feeny Harrison Phillips Ed 100% Russo Miami five

"With Sal Carpaccio on the Western Hotline might show up in the bulldog here. I like the point about this move being for whatever comes down the road. Mean? This. This group has been good at finding players not on the superstar level to play roles, especially on defense, and I could see them still wanting to do more of that. Yeah, I agree. I think they have Ah, good, solid personnel department, which finds players and is able to fit them into what they do, and guys wind up stepping up. I mean, Look at John Feliciano and what they parlayed that into look at. You know Darryl Williams. And what was that was partly to do. Are they perfect? No, of course not. There's been Mrs as well. Josh Norman did not turn out. You know, Vontae Davis, we know a few years ago did not turn out. You know, that's the other position people talk about which is corner. I get a lot of questions. Howard asked me this morning. You know, corner this thing before the digs news came out. You know who what Corners are left out there, and there are some I just get this really big sense that the bills really believe in danger Action and Levi Wallace and they're gonna let him battle it out. Maybe they bring in another corner. I wouldn't doubt it. I do not think it's someone they bring in. It has some sort of hefty salary, though that kind of immediately vaults them to the top of the depth chart. Because of the salary, they're making, no use. They signed Josh Norman to what they signed him to. It kind of becomes the defacto. He's gotta play right, And then he was the starter, and then he got hurt and Levi played, and Josh Norman never really saw the field. I don't think they want to do that again. I think they really like listeningto everything Brandon being said about Dane Jackson and watching Dane Jackson play last year. I think they have high hopes for Dane Jackson. So sure he could You add more to it? Yes, but I think generally, if a guy gets released after June 1st, it's generally a salary cap. Move. Well, that means it's a guy that's making a pretty good salary. So if you're going to get that kind of player, either he's gonna you're gonna get him for a lot less price, or it's just those players just don't come available after June 1st. The lower level guys are gonna be released because they're not making as much money for teams to save. Yeah, I admit definitely being focused on corner when I think about defense, but we had a guy call us earlier today sale who was rattling off aging pass rushers. Um, defensive line in General Starla Tulay, um, like that, You know, that happened last year, and I don't think the bills really had someone to plug into that spot when he opted out and Um, I don't know what the plans are for him this year. At this point, we know last week, at least when you were there. He was one of the players not in attendance at the offseason stuff. I don't want to draw a big conclusion out of that 11 situation. Um, but that could be a position that could use maybe, um, you know, some reinforcement. I agree. There is a video out today. Um, I retweeted it Several people have of star literally working out. Apparently, um, at a facility. I don't know if this is in Utah. He's he went to you Tell me I don't know where he is. I shouldn't even say that, but he went to Utah, so they're tag, but he's working out. He looks actually pretty fit and even slim down a little bit. S. So does this mean that he's getting ready to be in buffalo and work? We'll find out if he's there. Tomorrow. I'll be out in the field with the rest of the media will be able to watch, you know workouts, but I think this is a good sign this particular video that shows him working out and someone said, Hey, he was there. My son. Was there pretty cool, So I think that's a good sign. But at the same time I still think you have to look and think about what's down the road. And what about if there are opt outs negotiated by the NFL in the N F l P A, because that is on the table If opt outs are negotiated, you have to think that that could be a possibility for a guy like Star. You still have K one short. Who's out there? Still, General Casey was out there. These air Players who put time in this league. They're pretty good. The bills have to at least have them. On speed dial or someone ready to go. If for some reason, they realized that Starla tool he's not gonna play or if they don't like what they see out of their group overall when it comes time So you saw that too? You think he looks good? I So Sal could be right that it's a good sign. The first thought I had that when I saw it was Eric would and Rob Gronkowski. Like it looked like a guy to me that dropped the way he plays a position where it's good to be big and physical, and he looks like a guy to me that I didn't play football for the last year, and this is me in shape. It's what I thought. Hmm. About Is he doing a push up for every day of the year? Way know anything on that salad from probably even had a chance to ask him that yet. I have to report that I have retired from the push up challenge. Man. It's not the challenge Did you win something? E don't think I want anything with my arms are a little bigger s. Oh, that's something but no, don't no prizes. It's not because I wasn't keeping the pace up. I wasn't the 1 48 the other day. Wow, that's great. And then it was Maura that I started to hurt my shoulder started to hurt. And I've always thought that my technique wasn't exactly great. So you know, it was a holiday weekend and I had my wife and then she was home. And then my sister came over and friends came over and I'm doing push ups and they're all telling me No. You got to do no. Move your arms. No, do this And you know what? Let's videotape you and you can watch yourself and you can see out of so at one point on Saturday. Retired to my room, and I'm just going, all right. This is what I think I need to do. And 10 was hard like this particular way. My hands were in tight, right? And OK, don't lock your elbows and get your butt down and all this and I'm just sort of like driving myself crazy. And 10 was tough, and I'm like, you know what I can do A more reasonable number. Walk. And even do some other exercises and be just as well off, if not better, and not like feel like I'm wrecking my shoulders. Yeah. You don't want to do that. So as to be honest, like yesterday. I didn't do anything. Yeah, you today off Like I took a day off. I took a look of me day. Go, go, go, go, go. I mean, especially what was what's What's the end game? What was the endgame for this to do? One push up a day for every day of the year that it was so I'd be doing 365 on New Year's Eve. Which would amount to 66,000 and some for the year. Holy cow, and you know, it was always half baked. They just have a friend who did it. Okay? And he lost £80. I was really going for weight loss, but I'll get in shape. This would be a way it was right. It was new Year's and I'd cove eight and I was sort of locked in my room. Like what? Am I gonna New year's resolutions? What I'm gonna do. I know I'll do this because that means I'll do one push up tomorrow. New Year's Day, and that will be something that we have accomplished something by doing one. Well, I could do to the next day, you know when it goes on and on, but for the reasons I said it was gonna be. It's gonna change the regimen and I'm not going to get to that number so there, you know. Creative though. I like it. I wish I could take credit. It was wasn't going to tell you Just do it. Just do 100 Day, whatever. Like they would do whatever you can on the guy I've been. I've been doing 100 a day for a few months on Leon work days and you know 25 at a time. And I have also improved my technique, which means I'm getting it's harder to do right. I mean, there was a time when I was doing him. When I was there with you in the studio. I would throw myself down on the floor and do 40 or 50. But my technique was garbage. Now that I've I've dropped some weight, so it's easier for me to do them. I think Mork correctly. I'm still not ready to have anybody videotape me doing it or watch But I know because my body is telling me that I'm doing something at least closer to correct. Yes, because it's it's harder for them to do 25 now is much harder than it was. Two months ago. Yes, I think my technique is improved. Good. I never consulted anybody. I never talked to my doctor about it..

"And what we think or the best guys. They're going to start from day one of O T A's go all the way through training camp and make their decision. They got a got a high draft pick and Cody Ford coming back off a serious knee injury. He's got to show that he can still play. Otherwise he goes to the bench. Same thing with John Feliciano and Darryl Williams. And we've seen guys come in. We saw with Quentin, Spain last year who signed a three year deal or two year deal. Three year deal came back and everybody's real high, didn't give up a single sack in 2019. Five days into the year. Not only was he bench he was gone. The bills are sitting here at least in May in late May, we're Browning. I sit in. All of us are sitting. The bills look like they are neck deep in really quality offensive linemen were we mentioned forced lamp. And this man, he started 16 games for the Chargers last late, every single snap. They are sitting here at a place where even if they find five guys are eight guys who can really, really play. They're gonna have three or four who also can play Who I'm not. I'm just saying all of a sudden you You keep all of those guys and trade them for draft picks in the upcoming draft from a position of strength at a time when other teams are gonna be desperate to find guys like that. So Which guys? They keep in which guys? They don't Right now, It looks as though there's going to be 12 guys on this roster that we're all going to be really happy with. But they're not. Can't keep 12. Yeah, they're not gonna keep 12. This is for the first time in a long time. There's gonna be some really good football players who the bills had in training camp. They just weren't good enough to keep on. They're gonna play somewhere else. Likely. They're gonna have nice careers. Yeah, but I'm more than ever now. This roster is a freight train going downhill and you better hop on because if you don't, you're gonna get left behind. And that goes for all that That goes for all the veterans. We just really want. Just signed new deals. All that, like Feliciano, Darryl Williams, all these guys that signed extensions and all of those guys. You've got her. You're gonna have to bring it. And because every day One of the things we've seen. I said this about Brown and one of them. I was thinking about this. Think back to 2017 and certainly even 2018 to a certain extent when Josh his rookie year when their offensive line was absolute mess. Think about all the extra chances people like Andrei Homes and Kelvin Benjamin got When they didn't come through and didn't deliver. Right? Well, you know what I mean? I didn't perform. Extra chances week after we get why why didn't have anybody and everybody else? It's different now. Jump on the moving train or you're gonna get left behind. Simple is that no matter who you are, it's and it's amazing, too, because one of the things that it's It kind of gives me a little bit of a Wow. This is kind of an exciting field because This coaching steps. McDermott the staff he's got around me. Chad Hall. These guys, you know Eric Washington, Leslie phrase your table's Bobby Johnson. All these guys on this Staff. The hallmark of the Shah McDermott culture has been just what we said. You gotta prove it every day is a player or you're going to get benched. It's also been that they get the most out of a roster they get. You know, in 2017, they go to the playoffs after a 17 year drought. With a roster that was accused of being they were tanking when that season started, and they got that roster to the playoffs, they maximize the talent on their roster. And then when you get to this point in 2021, where you're looking at a roster going Oh, my gosh, look at these guys, and they're gonna maximize those guys. It's pretty exciting to think about that season coming up so Strapping. Let's go strap in. Let's go back to the phones at 803. Oh, 5 50 open line for you there we go to Dave in Florida. Dave, What do you have for us? Who's on your mind? You want to see this season? Who do I want to see it? Anders is the obvious one. But my figures that you're number one draft cry, Crusoe. Oh, yeah. I watched him at, um every game. This guy can break up a screen pass. He can rush any quarterback and catch him. And he gets his hands up. Okay. I think this is the guy that's gonna surprise everybody. Yeah, You know, Dave, you bring up an interesting point that I don't think people have talked about enough and that's batting down passes. Um, this is a guy where even if he doesn't win on the pass rush and can't get home If he's in the passing lane, have fun throwing over that guy. That's the thing it no matter where Russo stands. He's rushing the passer. The quarterback is gonna have to throw it around him. No matter where he is, you gotta throw it around and he's not going to throw it over the top of him. And you know, the guy's got two tennis rackets for hands. I mean, he's gonna best things down and puts his hands in the air talking 9.5 ft, Right. That's I've said it. The only thing you cannot coach and make better is Length height. You can't coach him to be taller. Uh, you can coach and be faster, stronger, heavier, lighter, quicker..

I remember that he thought you were going to tell me that there was a photo from that show on the wall. And you're in the photo. No, That's what I That's what I thought you were going like that would have been even better. But when? When I saw they go, this is this. This is the Mick Jagger stage outfit for the steel wheels and I was like, I remember that, you know. Is one of the outfits you Wow, it was a It was a New York jet number. 12 jersey. Steve, that is a story man. Yeah. I still cared about her ready for head coach. That coach is probably like What the hell that we have to do to get that guy task. I can't believe we didn't get that kid they want And it was interesting, too, because I was a wide out, you know, Wide receiver kick returner. University of Northern I will wanted to bring me in and they wanted me to play running back. Oh, wow. Me back because I was gaining weight I'd put on some. You know, I'd start to put weight on like I needed to and and They wanted the ball in my hands that way, and I was like, and I Just then I got called by Northwestern, which was you know, they won big 10. I was like, you know what you're gonna do? Great education. What you gonna do? I had I had to take that stuff to compete with. Man, that's a heck of a sell job. That's pretty good. They were in the running. Oh, they were on their on the short. That was a heck of a cell. J were on the shore. I'll Yes. Talk about pulling out all the stops Northern Iowa. You got to share that story with Spencer when you see him Because that is it was that is a butte. I can tell you right now. Spencer Brown didn't get a Rolling Stones concert. Probably not. I'll bet he didn't probably had it. Oh, man, That's a good one. Steve. I was going to talk about Spencer's impressive work out because Yeah, 68 the thing about him accepting a quarter clear level. The crone drill he ran was elite sub seven seconds. That's elite. Like any position. There are DBS that get good marks when they were on sub seven second, three cones. This is a 68 £311 man. Running a sub seven second three second cone for 4.4 seconds short shuttle. If your sub for your elite and they look for DBS to be sub four seconds he's 44 change direction for him. That's really good. Um, guys rip any press 1 29 reps with 35 inch arms Now that people are like, Well, what does that mean? The longer your arms are before either get harder. It is to do the wraps. Once you get up to 2029 reps. I mean, here he is bench and 500, which is his Max, which is scaring me to death after the John Feliciano Tauron Peck thing. The day before training camp last year, But you gotta he gets it up. It's it's funny because A little bit of a little bit of a but Ray's. There he is. You get something bad counts, though. I tell you something. That spot guy I don't know if I'm counting again, There's no that's just it. You gotta have somebody to spot you on that You need a bigger guy. Yeah, It's not like you need a bigger guy than that. He's gonna get a different spotter. Yes, not your girlfriend spotted you right? I mean, it's you need a guy with some meat on it. You got it and some backup. That £500 is a lot to put a guy on either side. There was a bunch Bunch of weight. That's a bunch of weight. Oh, my goodness. Off your chest £500. That's a lot. Yeah. I'll bet I'll bet coach Deano and the strength and conditioning part yet. Don't do that again. Yeah, Let's see. We got a different program lets no doubt let's lay off. John Feliciano will tell you to. You can't do that. But But that that tells you I mean the kids running an elite three cone drill and a short shuttle, and he's an athlete man and his bench and £500 that that's Those are some traits. As I was looking at the standard whether he turns into the bills, starting right tackle any point the future But I'll tell you this. That guy right? There is gonna be in the NFL for a long, long time. He even as even you visit career back up. You don't Those guys just don't go away. They just hang in there, and I've looked at more than one scouting report on him and what keeps coming up in the descriptions Smooth athlete. Length. And competitive toughness. That keeps you in the league a long time that Z better nothing, especially when you're 6 83 a lot better than a third round pick right there Those traits and I think he's one of four guys that the Bills drafted who were at the Senior Bowl? They? They put stock in that, especially with small school guys like Brad. Small Stool guys is the first time they get to go against, you know, top flight. Competitive, You know, a top flight. Uh, competition and when they hold their own against it and actually show out doing it. That really goes a long way with a lot of coaches, and it should it should. Because there's always that stigma. Well, you played against, you know, you know, I would say the joke he was playing against engineering students and dental students and not real football players. Well, that's not the case at the Senior Bowl. And I would I would venture to guess that the bills and several other teams Use that. Showcase as validation and confirmation. Of what they think about that player in terms of whether they can handle the NFL game if they hadn't already If they hadn't already, you know, seen the guy I or, you know, obviously, I've watched film on it and stuff but seeing the guy up close and personal and then see him compete against other guys who have some skills. Get in the same room with him on the same field with him, watching him work and work hard. Coaches get a lot of information from that be seen him on the field up close in a practice setting tells coaches all they need to know basically in a in a lot of ways. And, uh, Certainly the senior Bowl is a great environment for that. Yeah. We have to take a break when we come back more of your questions from the O..

"Seven games for the Bills last season and plans to play into the competition for the bill. Starting office of Guard spot opposite of John Feliciano. We're two days away from the first round of the NFL draft Bunch of rumors today. Florida Tight and Kyle Pitts, who many of mock to the Atlanta Falcons with the fourth overall pick, said today that he thinks the first four picks of the NFL draft will all be quarterbacks. Also odyssey NFL insider, Jason Lakhan, Forrest says there's a strong expectation the 40 Niners will try to trade quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo before or during the NFL draft. Hockey. The sabers are at the New York Rangers tonight. Will Borgen reenters the line up on the blue line in place of Colin Miller, who could pack a Lucan and gets the start in net puck drop for savers. If they pick Mick Jones and three and it seems like it's becoming a stronger likelihood as we're getting very close to the draft. There's a good chance that Matt Jones will be a serviceable to a good quarterback with the 40 Niners. We've seen Kyle Shanahan elevate quarterbacks just like Mack Jones in the past. But even if Mick Jones ultimately becomes a top 15 quarterback, that doesn't mean that Justin Fields of trade lands couldn't have been better. I think that we're the argument and for me that it's.

"Loses this game of mitchell. Trubisky hot potato. All that's the worst kind of opera. Deo it is You mentioned brandon. Sheriff he has signed his franchise tender with washington. We had some offensive line movement. Here over the weekend The bills end up bringing back. Daryl williams and john feliciano Taylor moton franchise tag tender with With carolina and then cameras and obviously tag by jacksonville unlikely to be own anywhere even if he is not signed at the moment but the most interesting thing is the chiefs end up releasing of their starting tackles eric fisher who ruptured his achilles in the afc title game and mitchell schwartz who battled back and real year miss. Most of the season had had back surgery recently. It seems like it was kind of inevitable at this point. And now you have a chief team who we saw the super bowl. Their their achilles heel was the fact that they couldn't block the bucks and now they are going into the offseason with no offense of tackles and also often writer. Their starting center is is hitting free agency and is unlikely to return. Yeah who who saw that coming. You know if you a chief's fan and then you saw those. Were the first to cuts that you made to that to make sense of the salary cap. You like. wait what. Excuse me certainly maybe be. They're thinking about upgrading. are not upgrading but getting younger and contractually a little bit safer in the draft on may maybe one of those too but i i don't know what your end game is there i think. The blueprint on mahomes has been sort of Shaken out there. I mean again. You're not going to get that level of pressure on the chiefs every game and they're going to be able to get the ball out quicker. You're not going to have a defense as good as the box. Most people but if you're setting him up to get pressured to that degree throughout the season next year. I i think that's a that's a really scary thing but again you know. Sometimes you have a quarterback that's on a ten year contract. These things have to happen right. You have to break things down and you have to build things up and you have to expect that okay. Maybe next year were nine seven or ten and six. And we're not you know thirteen and three or fourteen into We're gonna lose a few games but we're going to break in two offensive tackles that are gonna take us the the distance in two or three years. I don't know what the what the thought process is. They're they're certainly built to win now. But that was a confusing one for me. I didn't quite understand especially mitchell schwartz. Who and eric fisher. I mean they both really did mitchell. Schwartz was always good and eric fisher really did come into his own. I think in in that spot. Yeah the fisher..

Daryl williams thirteen two three next year fourteen three years ten year mitchell schwartz both first ten eric fisher two offensive tackles six nine Schwartz washington one seven

"Line to Daniel Jones and company looking to get on the board and that looks like Wayne Goldman. Why they're gonna call him down at the one yard line. I thought he was going to get one for the touchdown. He scored five touchdowns since week five, second in the NFL, but the Giants knocking on the door, They're gonna have a second down and goal from the one yard line. 11 25 to go with first quarter at Paul Brown Stadium. All right, the Cardinals already knocking on the door after that interception there down at the one yard line, facing a second and gold Paul Hamilton in Buffalo. Well, the charges go three. Now we penalty right on the kickoff. The bills were in illegal formation. Didn't matter. Tyler Bass kicked through the end zone anyway. Austin Ecker dead Get the start at running back for the Chargers. So he was in there on the first place split out and the bills have decided the way to handle Herbert is the blitz and may have come at him all out Blitzes on 1st and 2nd down. Edmonds hit him on first down Justice. He released the ball and thought it might be a fumble. But he was just trying to get rid of it and then to good pass defense, one by Trey White on Keenan Allen to knock the ball down. Then one by a. J. Klein on Reggie Gilliam did knocked the ball down, and that forced the charges into punt formation. So the bills will get the ball and their first opportunity with it. Joshua and coming on the field. John Brown is not with him for the next three weeks on IR. They do get Mitch Morris back into the lineup as the center is back after missing a couple of weeks. With a concussion. So he is in there. And that will move John Feliciano from center to right guard because Cody Ford went on the I R. So the Bills have first intend. We're just 14 25 left to go in the gate in the first quarter. The bills have the ball on their own 37 yard line and we are scoreless. Alright, wait. Goldman was stopped on third and goal. They tried it on fourth and goal and went right back to him, and he does get in. So The Giants have our first touchdown off week 12 right now, so they have taken a six to nothing lead. Let's send to Erik Nelson in Minneapolis, Eric Yeah, we've got 12 or five to go in the first quarter scoreless game between Carolina and Minnesota, but the Vikings have it first intent at their own 49. We talk in the freaking show Rich. About Calvin Cooke and his ability to catch the football. Well, Kirk cousins is two completions. Today, both of those 1000 cooks for 17 yards Now, this tribe from Minnesota. Was set up by a personal follow call against transcend Cannon on the truck cover team work. Carolina. He came down and level check BP writers he caught the punt. And it was called a personal foul against a defenseless punt return guy in this case, BP for the Viking step 15 yards and started in good shape Carolina on the opening possession for the Panthers. At a first down run by Mike Davis. But after that they could not move the football again. Key game for both teams. Panthers Foreign seven Viking for six weeks 11 0 Way to go in the first Making spacing and 34 from the 45 of Carolina here in Minneapolis. All right, thank you, Eric. The Jets have kicked a field goal the Cardinals taken in from the yard out, so it's seven and nothing there and we have a touchdown in Indianapolis. Let's get more from Andrew Smith. The Tennessee Titans have taken a seven Nothing lead over the Indianapolis Colts with 9 12 to go in the first quarter on a 12 yard run by Derrick Henry and Or the Titans, facing a colt defense that has depleted been depleted a little bit by injuries and players in the cove. It protocol. They went right. Through the middle of the cold defense. They give the ball to Derrick Henry five times on that drive also threw it to him once on the 10 Play Drive, and Henry contributed 46 yards on those six touches, including The final 12 on a It was ruled a rushing play. But what looks like a swing pass to the right side is they've been using Henry both between the tackles and on some tosses, misdirection plays. Getting him outside the tackles where they can get him the ball in space. The Titans looks very good on that first. Dr. Ryan Tannehill was four for four for 31 yards and again using the threat of Derrick Henry on play action to find open receivers and Titans able to go 75 yards and 10 plays. The opening drive of the game to take a seven to nothing lead over the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil City with 9 12 to go in the first quarter. All right, Thank you, Andrew. And now our time to bring in our our good friend Russell Baxter of pro football guru and researcher. Extraordinary. You could always follow him on Twitter at back the ex football guru Russell, How are you? Well, I'm doing terrific. How are you, sir? I'm doing just great as hope Your Thanksgiving was well, it was one game shortened as we all know, but of course, the good news is it pays back on the other side, Provided that game does continue. You know what? As we take a look at this time of the year of the Broncos do not have a quarterback today they are going with Kendall hinting, but Still a lot of teams searching for one this time here, which is certainly uncharacteristic how many themes you think will be in the market for a quarterback after the season? Well, I think there could be some jostling around. I mean, we saw teams, you know. Two years ago. 2018 invest heavily in the quarterbacks in the first round, depending on who you read. The Jets could go in a different direction in terms of Sam Donald so he could be on the move. Um, the Arizona Cardinals had one year. Josh Rosen. Yep. So you know that that class of you know of 2018 what you had, what? Four guys in the top 10 and then um, Lamar Jackson. The last pick in the first round. It just shows you how Things change..
